Today I’m talking with Jennifer McClure, a former executive recruiter and HR executive who offers a wealth of knowledge on the subject of corporate leadership. Jennifer is here to talk to us about developing corporate leaders and the importance of employee appreciation.
It seems like common sense that people want to be appreciated, they want to feel like the work they do, matters. We’ll discuss the old adage that people don’t leave companies, they leave managers and how employees want to know that someone’s paying attention. It may be easy for people to jump ship when times get tough, if they don’t feel a connection with management, so we’ll cover how to avoid this downfall.
Jennifer will share with us, a time she thought she was doing everything right, until she found out she wasn’t. One of her best employees left, and thankfully, that employee opened up to Jennifer about why she was leaving. This gave her the opportunity to make changes in the way she managed, and create more meaningful connections with the employees under her care.
Until next time, lead well!
