In this powerful solo episode, Pastor Mike Signorelli records mid–water-only fast to share raw, in-the-moment revelation about the spiritual discipline of fasting. As his body weakens, his spirit sharpens—and he pulls back the curtain on how fasting becomes a force multiplier in the life of a believer. Whether you're just starting with 24-hour fasts or feeling called to extended multi-day fasts, this episode will equip you to go deeper. Mike explains the tipping points of 3-day, 5-day, and 7-day fasts, why certain victories only come through fasting and prayer (Mark 9:29), and how to discern the voice of God more clearly when your flesh is silenced.

This is your invitation to break stagnation, embrace consecration, and experience supernatural acceleration.

(00:33):
You know, I'm multiple daysinto an extended fast, water only.
And I'm getting these revelations.
And one of them is, I was in ahyperbaric chamber today because
I'm doing this therapy for mylungs because they got jacked as
a result of COVID and pneumonia.
And I.
It's almost like I could hearthe words of Paul being echoed in
my spirit.
Like, beat your flesh into submission.

(00:55):
And I started imagining, like,my flesh being separate than my spirit
spirit.
Like, if you imagine thembeing two separate people.
And it's like your flesh, whatyou're doing while you're fasting
is your flesh is getting soweak that it's like, I don't want
to talk.
I just want to lay down.
I don't want to think anymore.
But really, your spirit issaying, yes.

(01:16):
You finally shut up becauseyou won't stop talking.
And you.
It's always when you're hungry.
It's always when you'resexually aroused.
It's always when you have anxiety.
It's always.
It's all happening in therealm of the flesh.
So it's like when you gomultiple days into a fast, the deeper
you go into the fast, the moreyou feel like you want to die.

(01:36):
Your spirit is saying, yes, die.
Like, yes, shut up.
Finally quit all that stupidity.
And that's what was going onin me, was I was feeling like, oh,
man, I.
I don't know if I can doanother day of this fast.
But my spirit was like, keepgoing, keep going, keep going.
Kill it.
Kill the whole thing.
I'm tired of listening to it.
And I could feel my spiritcoming forward.

(01:59):
That's the best way I can explain.
It's like the weaker my fleshgets each day I go into this fast,
the more my spirit starts tocome forward.
And I'm like, oh, my spirit's bold.
It's my flesh that's always scared.
It's like, my spirit's wisebecause I've been taking in the scriptures
all these years.
It's my flesh that keepsforgetting and is stupid.

(03:27):
It's like the battle is theflesh and the spirit.
And fasting is what you'redoing when you're intentionally weakening
your body to the point whereit doesn't want to do it anymore.
And that's what enables yourspirit to come forward.
So that's personally what I'vebeen dealing with this time.
And the thing is, mostChristians just.
They don't fast.
They lie about fasting.

(03:48):
They fast from other stuff.
But I'm talking water only old school.
Biblical style, fast, New Testament.
This is what they meant whenthey were doing it.
Because what will happen is,yes, you should weaken yourself.
You should, it's, it'sborderline biological starvation.
You're not going to die.
Most of us got more thanenough fat reserves to go extended

(04:11):
periods of time.
But for me, as somebody who'sbeen fasting for years and years
and years, I'm pushing myselfmore this week.
And I thought to myself, this, this needs to be taught.
It's, it's almost likethere's, there's phases of transition
and I can't prove what I'mabout to say biblically because there
is no scripture for this, butthere's something about a three day

(04:34):
Mark.
And I, I almost feel likethree days is the minimum to push
past a threshold.
Because it's like you, threedays, most people have never fasted
three days.
You're watching this right now.
You, you're a Christian, youclaim to be a Christian for years.
You've probably never onlydrank water for three full days.
I'm talking days and nights.

(04:55):
And, and the reality is what, when.
For people like me who've doneextended fast, three days is a spiritual
threshold because three daysis like, oh, you're dead enough for
your spirit to come forward.
And then you go to day five, then you go to day seven.
There's different benchmarks now.
If you've never fasted before, start with 24 hours water only do

(05:18):
it once a week for a whole month.
Then go into the second monthand try to see if you can go 48 hours
and then do that once a week.

(06:24):
Then go into the third monthand see if you can start extending
it out.
And I'm telling you, there'sdifferent thresholds.
Like there are levels to fasting.
I don't care what anyone says.
I was just revisiting the text.
How in the Book of Mark, youknow, they say that in early manuscripts
it didn't say.
And some come out by, byfasting and prayer, but in transcripts

(06:46):
they do.
And a lot of theologians have, and biblical scholars have debated,
well, do we add it and do wenot add it?
Because it's not in, in theoldest manuscripts, but it is in
the, the newer ones.
And, and ultimately where theylanded is we need to include this
because the early church, these early manuscripts, even though

(07:08):
they're not the firstmanuscripts, they included that some
don't come out by prayer andfasting because they, they, the early
church understood absolutelynecessary for spiritual warfare.
And it's like they thought itwas so important that they either
it was always there or, and,or they added it because they felt

(07:28):
like it was that poor.
So let's just keep it.
And so for many of you, it'slike what's missing from my Christian
walk?
Prayer and fasting.
And fasting.
And I'm telling you, it's likea, it's like a hidden secret.
But you'll, you can't watchteachings on fasting and experience
the benefits of fasting.
You have to actually do it.
And I, for me, I feel like theguy who's calling everybody's bluff

(07:52):
right now to be like, you'venever done a water only three day
fast you've never done, because if you did, your, your spirit
would be leaping right nowover what I'm saying, begging you
to do it again.
And so my encouragement to youjust even watching this right now
is put push aside the plate,go through that protocol I just gave
and, and, and let your spiritcome forward and let your flesh take

(08:16):
the backseat.
And you ain't going tophysically die, but if you start
feeling like you are, you'reprobably doing it right.
And nobody's going to love youenough to say that because we're
so scared.
I don't want to have anybody, you know, my, what about my medication?
Whatever.
What about it?
There is no protocol in thebible about medication, but there
is a protocol about fasting.
What about it?

(08:36):
You know, and you have to dosome of this stuff under doctor's
wisdom and, and, and doctorsprotocols, you know, in conjunction
and they can help you figurethat all out.
But I'd rather lean on theside of you actually doing what the
word of God says to do, whichrequires faith, than lean on the
side of caution.
Because caution is a cousin of fear.

(08:58):
And it's like for me, Istopped all of my supplements, I
stopped everything and justsaid that I'm just doing this thing
and I'm telling you I feelgreat physically after you cross
that certain threshold.
And then what begins to happenspiritually, I believe is even more
important.
And I just got out of a zoomright now where I was a guest on

(09:20):
another, on another guy's show.
And I'm just sitting here, myvoice is still hoarse, you know,
because again you can tell mybody's like going through it because
I ministered last weekend.
But my point is, as I'mspeaking on this guy's broadcast,
he's getting blasted with theanointing so strong he's crying.
The guy interviewing me iscrying and he's a renowned prophet.

(09:42):
And then all of a sudden hejust starts laughing hysterically
because, like, I released thisword and the joy of the Lord hit
him, and he just can't stop laughing.
Then I can't stop laughing.
And we just started going intoa revival mode.
But the thing is, I believe itwas directly connected to the fasting
there.
It's.
It's like an unavoidable thing.
It's like, yeah, the fastingproduced this.

(10:04):
This moment.
There's some things thatyou're not going to happen independent
of fasting.
And everybody wants to bepowerful, but it only comes as you
experience being powerless.
When I am weak, then I am strong.
So the question I'm going toend with is, when is the last time
you've made yourself weak?
That's what it means to bedisciplined in the things of the

(10:25):
spirit.
When I'm weak.
So when I'm weak from fasting,I say less, but it hits harder.
There's something about that.
There's certain anointingsthat can only be cultivated in prayer.
Then there's other anointingsthat can only be cultivated in prayer
and fasting.

(11:45):
And I really believe that weneed to go back to this ancient discipline
and.
