EP030 - How to Break Through Obstacles

Whether it’s in our jobs, our relationships, or in pursuing a goal, we all run into obstacles. Something comes along on our journey or process that gets in the way. It could be a difficult co-worker, relational tension with a family member, or an unexpected project assigned by our boss. It could be excruciating and traumatic such as an alcoholic parent, chronic pain or illness, or the death of a loved one. What we might not realize is that one of our biggest obstacles is our mindset. Our autopilot tends to be that we interpret negative circumstances with a negative meaning. What if there was a better way? And what if the answer is right between our ears? In this episode, Pastor Danny shares three steps to overcoming any obstacle. 1. Recognize that events do not have meaning. We give them meaning. 2. Realize you have the power to choose how you interpret events. 3. Act as your own coach. 4. Run your decisions past a trusted, wiser friend.
