Speaker 1 (00:00):
Shut up and.

Speaker 2 (00:10):
Welcome to the Bricks King Podcast, where I'm gonna bend
jury about Legos with view those amazing bricks and plastic
and discuss what is new end up coming around the
Lego world.

Speaker 1 (00:27):
I'm your minifighost Matt, Let's bet on it. Welcome in everybody.
How you doing today? I hope you're doing quite well,
no matter where you are, what time of day or
night it may be. Today, We're gonna be talking about
something completely different and new and fun and awesome and amazing.

(00:48):
And this is the first of two episodes that we're
gonna talk about, uh, the sets from this wave, because
there is so much to get into. What we're gonna
talk about today is the new Lego sets of the
well I guess from the show One Piece cartoon or
live action. These are more focused towards the live action

(01:10):
version that came out in twenty twenty three. If you've
been living under a rock and you have no idea
what I'm talking about, I'm gonna explain it to you.
One Piece is a series based originally from a cartoon,
an anime, or I think they call it manga manga
m annga style from the original series started in nineteen

(01:31):
ninety nine. The animated series, the current one which these
sets are coming from, is from twenty twenty three. Is
when the first season came out. I had just heard
about it. I had no idea what one Piece was
until Lego had offered me an opportunity to do stuff
with one Piece, and I was like, I don't need

(01:51):
Is this a new animated series y'all are doing? Is
this going to be the next Ninjago type thing? Okay,
it's kind of piority. Are we going down in a
pirate hole? What are we doing here? I had no idea,
And then you see on the box you see a
picture of a live action person. It's like, okay, is
this just? Is this AI work at its best? I
don't know what's going on. So as things started going along,

(02:13):
I was like, okay, I did some research. Find this
series on Netflix eight episodes. Season one is eight episodes.
Come to find out, Season two will be coming in
twenty twenty six sometime, and in there's a third season
that is being that was renewed by Netflix as well.
You can only watch this, as far as I know,

(02:33):
on Netflix, So if you don't have Netflix, you're probably
not gonna watch it, and you're probably not gonna have
any idea what I'm talking about when we get into
these sets. If you have seen it, awesome, If you
have not, I'm not gonna give any particular spoilers away.
There are going to be things that I Am going
to have to talk about that have to do with
the show to get you to kind of understand what

(02:56):
is going on with some of this stuff and maybe
some of the background on some of the case characters.
It is only eight episodes, it's not very long, but
it is a really well done series. I was really
truly impressed by. I was not expecting to be really
focused as I was watching. I thought it'd be something
kind of in the background, you know, I'm just paying
attention to a little bit, Like I was full full

(03:19):
more engaged with this series for all eight episodes. It's
just phenomenal. So the sets that we're going to talk about,
there are three that we're going to talk about today. Now,
one thing that you need to keep in mind is
with these sets, they are based on this series, this
eight episode series. So far, all of these sets have
pivotal roles in the series. So each of these sets

(03:43):
as a marker point in the series to be able
to that you can kind of go back to and
be like, oh, that was on this episode or that
was on this episode. And then some of them, you know,
might have some crossover and such, but for the most part,
they're centralized to a certain episode because that is the set,
the opportunity of the scene, the main key scene is

(04:06):
in a certain episode, and you know, for instance, one
of these sets, it only happens in the one episode
that is it. You're not seeing anything else about it.
So let's go ahead and jump into these. The first
one we're gonna start with is the Windmill Village. Hut
seven five six three six is the set number, all right,

(04:29):
two hundred and ninety nine pieces retails for thirty bucks
thirty euros. The main character in the series is Monkey
d Loofy Monkey D period Loofy. He's the main guy.
This first set has to do with him as a kid.
As a young kid, he wants to be a pirate.
The series is around pirates and marines. Marines being the

(04:54):
force that is through eight episodes is trying to keep piracy,
I guess, kind of under control. It doesn't really seem
to be like it works too well. So Monkey or
Loofy in this case, I'll refer to him as either
or he is trying to find two. Basically, he wants
to be the best pirate ever. They are all searching
for this one piece, this treasure, and it's out in

(05:18):
the middle of this great ocean. They've divided the world
into oceans and stuff like that. Anyway, I'm not going
to get into all that specific detail because you don't
need to know it. He is trying to get this treasure.
So he is through his journeys and his adventures, he's
finding these people, these different characters that we're going to
run into that play pivotal roles in this series. For

(05:40):
the most part, one of these in this series or
in this set doesn't really appear anywhere else, but there
is anyway. So we have him as a little kid here.
So this sets right here. You have an island setting,
you have your little huts here. So what we've got
is we've got like a thatch brick built, thatched roof,

(06:01):
which is gorgeous, just rests on top of this little shack.
This little shack is meant to be like a watering
hole of sorts, a bar for the pirates to come
aboard and get whatever they would like to drink, right,
being that this is not just an adult friendly podcast
or just gonna stick to something liquid anyway. The roof

(06:26):
is actually cool because, like I said, it does come
off a little bit of tiling on top. But the
design of this is really kind of neat. It's fixed
into place. The angled sides. Each side of the roof
is identical, and it's build it's just flipped opposite when
you build the thing. But it is just held together
essentially by a few technique pieces that are just attached

(06:50):
to some plates. So that's kind of cool how it
just rests on top. Now around the outside of this,
this is meant to be, you know, kind of above
the water, above the sand. So you've got your pillars
that are going down into the water, down into the sand.
So you have some suggestions of sand, suggestions of water
with some different plates and tiles and such. You have
some what appears to be some kind of coconut tree

(07:12):
with two different colored green leaves that is growing out
the back side of this. That's kind of cool. It's
pinned in there so you can adjust angle. Maybe maybe
you wanted to play. You know that it got chopped
down because it's on a pin. You can knock it down.
It's kind of neat to have on the very back
of this is on the back, it's not on the back.

(07:33):
Eye lied on the very back. There's not a whole
lot to it though, but not a whole lot of
ugly space, not a whole lot of anti studs or
anything like that sticking out because you have the jail
bar windows that are used here. You've got a few
different a few different ones here, So that is your
backdrop for your your little pirate watering hole on the

(07:55):
If you're looking at this from the front, on the
right side, you have a panel, a wall panel that
can pop off. It's only held on by two studs.
That comes into play when Lufy is trying to figure
out this whole idea of this thing that is going on,
and we'll talk about it, and then I guess we can.
We don't really need to talk about it anyway. He

(08:16):
wreaks havoc on the little shack here, the watering hole shack,
and just completely is obliterating things. And so that's where
the wall panel breaking off, as you just heard, comes
into play. Now on that panel. What we have is
we have a wanted poster. Now there are eight unique
wanted posters. This one is of Buggy. It says wanted,

(08:39):
it's got a picture. These are printed, by the way,
these are not tiled or these are not stickers. Some
looking at the tile, so I said, tiled fifteen million
is the value for his head bringing him in, I
guess to the marines. There is a sticker above it
that says notices, So that is there. Now they're like
I said, there are eight nique different individuals that are

(09:03):
on these wanted posters. The problem is, and I'm gonna
say this right off of the bat, I don't like it.
The problem is they are just scattered throughout sets. Okay,
there's five sets in this wave, the biggest one being
quite expensive. You're gonna end up having to buy multiple
sets if you want to collect them all, or you

(09:25):
could go onto Bricklink or I don't know if this
is up on bricks and pieces, probably not. But to
be able to get those, to collect all eight, you're
gonna have to continue to go out there and throw
money at the problem to be able to collect them all.
So there is just one in this set. So the
front of the little shack here we have our little
walkway walkway bridge that is built up with a chain.

(09:48):
That is how you attach the boat, you know, tether
it to the shore, to the land, to the docky whatever.
A little railing along there as well. We've got a
surfboard in the front and the surfboard has some stickers
on it, one that says menu can't see anything, there's
no print on it. And then we walk through some
sticker here again it says parties on the back end

(10:12):
of this, because that is the place that is what
this is called parties. So we've got some tables here
or not tables. We've got a barred countertop and we
have two stools here for your minifigs to be able
to sit at. Two red top stools on top of
the counter which is rounded a little bit. We've got
a green bottle and then we have a clear glass.

(10:34):
In the right corner we have a mop and a bucket.
And then on the back wall we have a sorted
drinking cups and stuff like that, so you have just
a little bit different. Those are just clipped on the wall,
clipped onto the wall on the back and then you
have your little life preserver back there hanging on the wall.

(10:56):
Not a ton to that, but it is a cool
little setup. Now, the kind of the little little extras
that you get here. You do get a little boat,
You get your little rowboat. Here, your little dinghy that
comes with paddles. It comes with a little crate in
there as well. This little thing, it's purple. It's two
eggshell pieces. They've been used as flowers, They's been used

(11:18):
as cracked eggs like dinosaur eggs. These are connected on
the inside, I believe, on the inside there is a
plant piece bar that is going through. Yeah, on the inside.
You kind of have this lightish green color to it
that is supposed to be the interior of this fruit.

(11:40):
This is called a devil fruit or in this case
gumgum fruit. Okay, all of these devil fruit, devil fruits
whatever you want to call them, gum gum fruits, all
have their own unique powers. And there's a myth to it.
From what I understand, as best as I can understand,
is that you know it's there's there's a kind of

(12:03):
a eating one of these. You know, there's a curse
behind it that something can happen to you that the
seed takes what it wants or something like that. The
one minifig, well, minifig, the one minifig from this series
in minifig form, when she the character anyway, that's what
she had said something along those lines. So when he
was a kid, he decided he was going to eat

(12:25):
one of these and they show the scene and it's
just disgusting. It looks like he's eating like foam. It
just looks just just vomit, gag. Anyway, that's how he
ends up with these powers, and he's got these stretchy
he's uh, he's flexible. Think of oh man, I just
it just left my head. Stretch Uh, stretch Armstrong? Is it?

(12:46):
Stretch Armstrong the toy from the nineties could stretch him,
stretch him, stretch him forever. So he's able to stretch
and move about and stuff like that. And it's kind
of funny as the series goes along because he uses
that to get out of different situations. So we're gonna
move to minifigs because there's nothing else to discuss with
the SAIDs other than the minifigs. So you have his

(13:09):
minifig and he's got his shirt on that says anchor
and has an anchor on the front and on the
back it's nothing. He's got his short blue dark blue
legs here. On one side of his face, he's smiling.
On the other side of his face, he is crying.
As far as I know, this is an exclusive minifig
head print, so that's kind of cool. It would have

(13:31):
to be exclusive because he's got a little scar under
his left eye because he in the series decided he
was gonna try and take a knife to his face
to try and poke his eye out to be I
don't remember what it was specifically, but he in the
serious themes, like I've missed a little bit graphic. This

(13:54):
is this series. I will say is if you're gonna
watch it with kids, I would definitely if you're if
you're gonna let kids watch this, you definitely need to
be there with him. There is violence. There is uh
which which was kind of odd to me that Lego
went after this ip because I'm thinking, Okay, this is
gonna be more wholesome, right, this is gonna kind of

(14:14):
be like a Ninjago violence where there's not there's blood
and there's stabbing, there's decapitations, there's like it's it's not
like blood and guts gore, but it's definitely not PG.
It's a little bit above that in my opinion. But anyway,
so he's got his scar under his left eye on

(14:36):
both sides of his head. He also has his old
black hair piece that he comes with. So there's that
plus you also, I believe, I believe this is his
hat that comes with him. Is it his hat? No,
he doesn't have a hat. I'm wrong, he doesn't have
a hat. Our next minifig is Mekino. I think it's Mikino.

(14:57):
Is how it's about. It's the female here. She's we
got green hair that's long in the back, and she's
wearing the dress bottom piece and she's got a you know,
kind of a vested top with some striped print across it.
She is, for all intentsive purposes, his mother in this.

(15:19):
The series hasn't gotten far enough in the first season
to really kind of give that much of a backstory
about his you know, bringing up or anything like that,
but she essentially was it seems like, was raising him.
He hung around all the time and stuff like that.
She is the keeper of the watering hole. And then
we move on to Shanks. I thought, prior to really

(15:42):
focusing on anything, I just when all of these arrived,
you know, I just a quick glance over, and I'm like, oh, okay, this,
this guy is gonna be this is gonna be the
main character. You know, he's in the first set. You know,
he seems like the main focal point. He's not. Shanks
is a pirate and he is the one that Lufy

(16:04):
was trying to join with. He I want to be
in your I want to be a pirate with you.
I want to be No, you don't want to be
a pirate with me. He comes with a hat, straw
hat monkey de Lufy's pirate band of guys and gals
that end up joining him are called the straw Hat Pirates.
So it's based on this straw hat. I wish we

(16:26):
had more of a straw hat. It's not quite like that.
It's just it looks like the top end of Saturn,
you know, with the brim of this thing and then
the roundedness and then the little red strille. It just whatever.
But it's got a dual molded with his hair on here,
so you have that. He's got his little saber sword.
I guess is what this is. He's got his sword,

(16:48):
he's got a black cape. It is not fabric, well,
I guess it is a version of fabric. It feels
more plastic he than anything. It's not rubber though he
has on brown pants. He's got a white shirt on
with it open in the front. His faces, his face
is that he's got. He's got an angry face, and
he's got kind of like a quizzical face. He's got

(17:11):
three slashes across the face around his eye from battle.
So that's one of those things like he keeps telling
Monkey or Loofy, you don't want to go, you don't
want to be a pirate, and you don't want to
be a pirate because of and he's just given him
all these reasons. And this poor kid is just like
I don't care. I just I just want to be

(17:32):
a pirate. I want to be the King of the Pirates,
is what he wants to be. So I guess he's
gonna eventually band all the pirates together to get to
a certain point. I don't know. Oh man, I can't
wait to talk about this this next set. This is phenomenal.
It's it's such a unique build in its own, right.
It's such a weird scene, a weird episode, but we've

(17:56):
got to take a quick break and then we'll talk
about the rest of it in a moment. Now that
I've got you all teased and ready to go, the
next set we're gonna talk about is Buggy the Clown's
Circus tent seven five six three seven, five hundred and
seventy three pieces retails for fifty five bucks and fifty euros.

(18:17):
The cool thing about this puppy is that there is
a lot going on on this episode that is just weird.
It's a mix of American Horror Story season four from
the Circus season, mixed with comedy, mixed with dark humor,
mixed with I don't even know. It's just a weird

(18:38):
all around episode, but it's it's just kind of funny
in the way that things play out. Let's talk about
the set though. So this set contains four minifigs. We're
gonna meet a couple new characters here. I'm gonna get
to those here in a moment, but we get a
couple of different new characters. The focus of this set
has to do with a town that this cl pirate

(19:01):
has been to and his kind of taking control. He's
taking the people hostage. On the front of this, well,
there's a front and a back, depending how you look
at it. Play wise, you're gonna play whatever side do
you consider the front as But to be able to
enter into this, it's kind of think of it like
a big top circus tent. They don't really I've not

(19:22):
seen a circus around in a long time because animals
and you know, abuse towards animals. So AnyWho, what we
have is we're gonna focus on what is essentially the
back of this set. But you have a three roof
sections that are in red and white. Really cool in
the way that those are built up, especially the center

(19:44):
section with studs on the side construction. It was not
expecting that everything's kind of clipped in for the most part.
And then you have a sign here that says Buggy
Pirates and that is just a sticker bunch of stickers
of course usually for this kind of thing, but in
here there's a lot. There are two more wanted posters.

(20:05):
Another one that we have here is Alvida. Alvida is
a pirate captain in the very first episode that monkey
comes across. Anyway, not a whole lot of focus on
her because she didn't make the rest of the season,
but we have hers. And then finally we have Monkey
d Loovy Monkey de loofy is. He's got a bounty

(20:28):
on his head and it's not cheap, that is for
darn sure. So you enter in through the big top
and that essentially leads you into the main focus of
the set of the of the whole thing. When you're playing,
the roof sections can be moved out of the way,
just ever so slightly a little bit, just to be

(20:49):
able to give you some access on the sides. In
the very back of this thing, we do have some crates,
and inside of the crates are parts of the clown.
You heard me right, okay, The clown ate gumgum fruit,
as we have another kind of gum gumfruit that is
going on here in the version of like an Apple.
We have a stickered block here that is meant to

(21:12):
be his torso because he can come apart. He ate
gumgum fruit, and his power is that he can break
into oodles of pieces. It's very weird and disturbing in
its own right, but it is a thing. Inside of
the drums, there's a drum on each toe, on each
of these, and it has a hand. It has a

(21:33):
white gloved hand that is meant to be his hand,
and the idea being he goes a little qq in
this episode and gets knocked down to size and he's
ended up being left with just tiny little body and stuff.
So there is that. It's like I said, man, it's

(21:56):
just kind of weird. And then there's a red bandana
in here as well for your pirate, your clown pirate guy.
So those are all the pieces for him when you
get to that point, if you play to that point.
So I guess that's kind of a spoiler, Nott. Really

(22:16):
you've got to know that all these guys have their
own little unique things at this point in time. So
the next thing that I wanted to talk about is
you've got a cage. You've got a golden built cage
here with some bars and some stuff. You've got a
cage here, and that's meant to keep a prisoner in.
I'm not going to get into a bunch of details

(22:36):
because it does get used in the episode. Just adjacent
to that, in the very center, you have a brick
built clown head which is really sharp and the way
that it's done, some stickers for the eye's mouth and
his bandana, the liner around his bandana. Got some brick
built lights here of two different colors of some green
and some pinkish. Then we have seats folding out seats here,

(22:59):
which is kind of cool. It's it's different initially when
I built this. Even now I still am kind of like,
why why did we do this? Why did we build
this thing? You've got eight seats in total, you have
alternating colors of yellow and blue. Why for what reason,
why exactly did we need eight seats? I don't know.

(23:21):
You can, however, they are clipped into place. You can
move them, unclip them, get them out of the way,
and you can sit them aside for play or not
for play. It's completely up to you. Then you have
the throne that the clown sits on. It's brick built
red with some green sides. It's got lights around the
framing of the entire thing. So you have that there

(23:42):
to play with as well, if you so choose to
do so, I guess whatever. On the very very top
of this thing, you have the Jolly Roger flag with
a clown face on it. This is going to come
into play in the episode. You know, they steal the flag.
Afterwards they need a flag for a ship. They don't
quite have a ship really in the episodes. So it's

(24:02):
kind of funky in its own right. But that is
pretty much all that is going on here. Not a
ton going on, but it's a main backdrop for the
episode for the series. The next thing here that we
have is a water tank. Like a magician, I'm gonna
be dipped into this water and I'm gonna see how
long is it? Can I be in there without you know, oxygen?

(24:25):
I can I'm chained and I'm gonna escape or whatever.
So you uh, We've got some glass panels that are
on each side here, and some door frames with some
large glass panels as well. There is a lever in
the front and there's also a wheel to a valve
I guess to open and close this let the water in.
We'll let the water out. On the back of this thing,

(24:45):
there's this weird platform. You're like, what is this platform for.
It's got a it's pinned into place, and the idea
of this is it is to be able to bust
Loofy out of out of harm's way, out of this
tank into play in the episode. There's a sticker on
that side that shows some bubbles and some water slashing.

(25:05):
It's a clear back sticker. Be careful putting it on, obviously.
And then we have another piece right here, and this
is a it's around kind of like oh my goodness,
you see it, unlike all the cheesy kind of stuff,
and in this case, it was even kind of cheesy
as well, where they strap somebody to it and they
spin it around, they shoot arrows at them, where they

(25:28):
throw axes at them or whatnot that happens in the episode.
On here, you can put a minifig on there, and
it's one of our new minifigs that's going to be
in this position. And in the back we've got a
little handle that can spin it. It's a red round plate.
It's got a bull's eye in the middle, and then
it's got some stars that are on here as well.

(25:48):
So there's that to play with if you so choose
to do so. It's fun, it's unique, it's a little
bit different. All well. These this set and the next
set have these little pieces, these little set pieces that
come along with it that there's not really a way
because they're not attached to the main focus of the episode,

(26:11):
of the scene that is happening, so they're just kind
of standalones on their own side. Now, it's great for
kids to play. It's absolutely great for kids to play with.
You know. You just run your minifig to the back
of this thing and compal, you know, knocks off the
back and then you get your whoever's inside of their out.
So it's nice to be able to have it. Same
with the them throwing I think was axes. I believe

(26:33):
they were thrown or maybe it was knives. I think
they were throwing knives at this the little spinning bullseye.
But AnyWho, so let's uh, let's talk about our minifigs.
We've got four brand new minifigs here. We have Monkey
Dee Loofy as a grown up version of himself. Still
got that same black hair his face. He's got a

(26:54):
smiley face on one side and then he's just got
kind of like a determined face. He uses that to
term face a lot in the series, which is kind
of funny. He's wearing a vest that has obviously nothing
on his arms, and then his shorts that are kind
of ragtag, and the way they are done, and they
even printed on the front of his feet for what

(27:16):
he was wearing in here, So we got some dual
molded bottoms that are going on. I love that on
the back we have a little kind of a clip
in place for his straw hat, so you can either
use the hat or you can use the hat is
completely up to you. He has no weapons. He does
not use any weapons at all from what I recall,
and we move on to Nami. Nomy is one of

(27:39):
the I guess technically is more like the third Ish
character to come along that he was trying to recruit.
She's got orange hair, very unique hair in this case.
I love the way that it is done, how it's
kind of flared out in the bottom on the bottom,
on the sides, it's kind of neat. She is wearing

(28:00):
a blue top or a white top with some blue
lines on it across the front and the back. It's
kind of like the marine uniform to a certain degree.
She plays a pivotal role in this series. I'm not
gonna say a whole lot because that'll definitely spoil quite
a bit in here. Anyway, she's got the kind of

(28:21):
the scroll for I believe for the map that they
were that they were trying to get. They needed the
map to find their way to the treasure. And then
she's got a little bow staff that she has here.
Her legs I didn't mention this. Her legs are orange.
And then she's got some print on them as well,

(28:42):
with a belt and such, so that is kind of cool.
Her face, she's got an angry face and she's got
a like a yeah right kind of face going on.
My new favorite minifig. No, not quite, but I love
this new element that was created specifically, I want to
say specifically for this. I don't recall seeing this on
anything else, and you needed to have this. It has

(29:04):
to do with a katana. It's a special katana and
we'll get to it in a minute. So this next
one is Zoro. Zoro's got a two name, two part name.
Prior to Zorro, he is comes from essentially training to
be like a samurai, and he has green hair, so
you get his green hair here, and he also comes

(29:25):
with a black bandana that he uses. His backstory is
pretty cool in the way that his training and everything
was done. That was it was just really it was
really fun. All they give you the backstory to all
of them. But it was just it was really well done.
It shows you where his motivations lie. So he's got
two faces. He's got a smile as smark, and then

(29:46):
he's got an angry open mouth grating his teeth as well. Look,
black pants, blue top, almost like he's wearing a gee
of some kind. So he's got that. He's got his
two black katanas, and then he he has a white
katana and it's got this weird on the handle. It's
got this weird kind of clip almost that's attached to it.

(30:08):
And what this is meant to do is this is
meant to go around the neck of the head of
the mini fake. I know, weird, right, totally weird, not
on the little piece that sticks out off of the torso.
It goes between the torso and the head, really really weird.
The reason being in the series he's using three katanas.

(30:33):
One is being held by his mouth. I don't know,
don't ask me why dude wants to do that, but
it's a thing, so we have him. Then we move
on to Buggy Buggy, the Clown, the Pirates. This minifake
you cannot take seriously whatsoever. It's just it's great. The
acting of the character in this was great as well.

(30:55):
It's just kind of funny. So new piece here for
his pirate hat. He's got green hair pigtails that are
kind of sticking out the tops of this thing. He's
got the printed pirate logo on the front. Really cool
in the way that this is done. His minifig he's
got an evil clown face in the front and then
a crying one in the back. So uh yeah, with

(31:15):
a big giant red nose. It's it's sharp. I love
the printing of the face on this. I love this minifig.
He's got two little dagger swords. These swords are being
used in the episode to throw at Zoro, who is
spinning on the wheel of death if he will the
bullseye wheel. His print again, boot prints same as Namie.

(31:37):
You know, we're getting printed on the boots down there
on the feet. He's wearing his long get up. He's
got kind of like an overcoat. I believe that he
was wearing in it. He got his little pirate vest underneath,
and it comes in one of the Nugidi colors. The
entire minifigu does this. That is really cool. The minifigs
are the best. I love the in this entire series,

(32:01):
in this entire wave of sets, his by far is
one of the coolest. If you ask me, I think
it's if you're a minifig collector, maybe you don't want
to buy the set. This is a minifig that you
want to add to your collection. I can tell you
that right now, people are gonna take monkey, take it
or leave it, you know that kind of thing. But
the clown some of the villains, Yeah, you wanna, you

(32:25):
wanna most definitely go after those kind of guys. Now,
Buggy I had mentioned the little clown guy. Here he
is in a number of episodes, and I'm gonna do
a quick spoiler, so if you don't want to hear this,
and you know, jump ahead for about ten seconds and
we should be fifteen seconds. So, uh, here comes a spoiler.

(32:48):
In three two one Buggy, he is essentially in multiple
episodes helping the bad pirates uh to be able to
find you know, the uh, the guy and everything like that.
So he does play a pivotal role moving forward, all right.
Spoiler aside, Buggy Out of the Way set, Out of

(33:08):
the Way, Minifigs Out of the Way let's go ahead
and talk about this next one, alrighty. Before we move
on any further with all this enjoyment, we gotta take
a quick break, alrighty. This next one is called The
Battle of Our Along Park seven five six three eight

(33:29):
is the set number nine hundred and twenty six pieces
retails for eighty bucks eighty euros. This is a true playset,
through and through and through and through. That's it. It's
not a display piece, it's not anything else. It is
truly a playset. It's got an action feature, it's got
cash written all over it. It's got fun build, unique, build,

(33:49):
kind of pain in the butt in certain way build.
But it's completely different than the other two that we
have talked about altogether. Before we talk about the big set,
I want to talk about the many pieces that come
with it. There is a cannon, a little brick built
cannon with a little tile shooter, so you have that.
Then we have some other little set pieces here that

(34:10):
take park. His park is meant to be like a
like a theme park. Okay, that you have gone. This
is where he is taking refuge.

Speaker 2 (34:20):
This is uh.

Speaker 1 (34:21):
He's a He's a feared pirate. He is the part
of the fish with the fishmen is what they are.
They are. He is a what looks like a shark
of some kind, and his companions as well, so they
are from the ocean. This first little set piece is
meant to be a carnival game. It's called shooting gallery.

(34:43):
Big sticker that says so on top. There is two
wanted posters on each side of this, so you have
an opportunity to gain more there. I got duplicates in this.
I got duplicate buggies. I was not happy, not happy
at all, did not want another buggy, but it happened anyway.
So you have two little targets here that have stickers

(35:05):
on it. You can lift these. There's a little ball
on each side attached to an axle and it just
lifts it up. You can pretend it's you're shooting at
it with your little cannon shooter to be able to
knock those down or not. In the backdrop, you have
another big old sticker with some prizes, not the coolest
looking prizes. I would say, I'm gonna leave them if

(35:27):
I win, I'm gonna leave my prizes behind. Then we
move on to this other part is called Shark Attack.
This is his throne. This is his little chill spot
that he's got going on. And get some four different
candles that are lit around here, some candy cane looking
green and white candy cane striping of the posts. So

(35:49):
that is kind of fun. Same as the other one
with the shooting gallery. But there's big old lights around this.
This says shark attack. It's a big old sticker it's
going on. I kind of like that. It's pretty neat
in its own right. Then we move on to this
other little part here and it is just essentially like
a little kind of cabanolets, a little outdoor area. You're

(36:12):
just hanging out, you know, having a drink, you know,
pull side ocean side, water side whatever, or maybe next
to this giant pavilion. It's got a little umbrella brickbelt
umbrella that's going on here. And you've got a little uh,
what's supposed to be a bar bar top with a
little glass. There's a little table with a chair, and

(36:34):
then you have a snail. There is a snail with
a ball attached to it. It is a printed piece.
The snails are used as communication devices as like telephones,
as loud speakers, as megaphones, very interesting, very interesting to

(36:54):
say the least. So now that that's out of the way,
let's go ahead and get to the big deal. The
big main focus. Right, Everything that everybody wants to know
is the big focus, the big set piece that you
want to build, that you want to play with, right,
or you want to display. Told you it's not a display.
You can make it display worthy. You gotta modify it though.

(37:16):
So this is on multiple stories, tall, lots of action
that takes place in the final episode. Not gonna get
into a ton of it. The set is gonna give
it away. So there's really, like I said in the beginning,
there are some things that I can't spoil because the
set is going to just tell you this is happening,

(37:38):
and you can put two and two together. I don't
have to do it for you. You're gonna be like, okay,
one hundred percent to understand what he's talking about. Now
you'll see. So this is, like I said, quite large.
So starting from the bottom, you have some awnings that
are sticking out here with what looked like it's supposed
to be like almost like coconuts, coconut type style tree

(38:00):
wood that is holding those up. Some suggestions of you know,
kind of a beach front and everything. This thing is
meant to look dilapidated. The techniques that were used in
making the front walls. You've got gaps, you've got different
colored brick or bricks showing a bunch of different stuff
going on. So it's meant to look like, yeah, this
is this is not a good place to be. This

(38:23):
thing's gonna this thing has been abandoned for quite some time.
There is a spot for another wanted poster. This time
I was able to get our along, which this is
his place. That's kind of cool to be able to
get it here. I do appreciate that. Then we have
this kind of ornamental design of more of like a
Eastern Asia, you know. Stuff that's going on. Again, this

(38:47):
is an anime style cartoon adapted to live action. Some
of the things in the series, you're kind of like, okay,
that's kind of pushed towards like a lot anime and
the way that they shot things and some of the
scenes in the way that they were done, the action
is meant to look like that as well, So kind
of an ornamental design and everything like that. As far

(39:10):
as the roofs, you know, curved tiles to make the
sloping on the corners and everything. You've got golden lamps
that are hanging from the corners of each level of
the roof. You've got the grided windows that you clip
into place.

Speaker 2 (39:26):
There.

Speaker 1 (39:27):
You got a sticker here it says r along Park.
At the very top of this thing, you have a
giant mouth of a shark that is the base of
where this flagpole is. And then the flagpole is I
guess meant to be you know, kind of like urlong
symbol or he's I think he's supposed to be like
a swordfish based on what he has for a nose. Anyway.

(39:52):
So one of the things with this build that you
notice is you start building it and you're like, Okay,
this is gonna be kind of cool, just a little
set piece, nice design and everything. And then you start realizing,
I'm attaching things to pins, I'm attaching things to axles. Okay,
there's gonna be a movement, some sort of movement. Okay,

(40:15):
there should be some big old, giant red thing sticking
out the side for me to be able to move this,
that and the other. You'd be wrong. Okay, the piece
on the top, all right, that moves. Why does that
move that? That moves up and down with the flag post,
that entire section, you know, pinned into place with axles, Like,
why is that moving around? I don't know. There's a reason. Though,

(40:37):
Before we get to that, let's go ahead and talk
about what's on the inside, on the backside. Aside from
the bottom level, there is nothing as far as design
design things from the the series from there's there's nothing.
It's just kind of open space. There's no levels to

(40:57):
be able to climb up to and play per tent
and on nothing. So inside of here, we've got a table,
we've got some chains. Somebody's getting chained down, not for
the good maybe maybe not. I'm not gonna spoil it
for you. We've got some orange lights that we have here,
so that's kind of neat. Those are attached to walls
that are I believe they were clipped into place in

(41:20):
the corners, so it doesn't completely it's meant to give
it more of like a rounded feel on the inside,
although it's not one hundred percent, but you get that idea.
You have a barrel, it's got some white stuff in it.
Maybe it's bones, maybe it's not. Maybe it's a scroll.
You have another container over here, another bin with some

(41:40):
more white pieces in it. Who knows what it could be.
And we've got an ingot a brown ingot piece here
that is on the floor attached to a couple plates.
What could that be?

Speaker 2 (41:53):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (41:54):
And then we have a little bowl over here as well.
You could think, wow, this is maybe this is a
torture chamber. That could be. He is the one of
the most feared pirates. He's a very scary dude. I
did not like watching this and and and just kind
of focusing on this guy. He's scared the crap out
of me. Dude, I was not. He's just very very

(42:20):
what is the word I'm looking for. Just he's just
scary looking, terrifying in his own right. You know, they've
got a character with a really deep voice, muscular, scary
looking design as far as prop design for makeup, just
and the and the demeanor exuding from him is just
it just puts it over the top. I could do

(42:42):
without seeing him ever again in the series in the future. Anyway,
So before I, uh, we really I guess get into this.
I suppose this thing is very delicate, I said. Their
movements there clipped into place axles, you know, technic pins.

(43:03):
Things are meant to move around. There's only a few
studs holding the main level in place. When the episode
comes about. It is the final episode, the battle that
is in that is going on. What happens is this
entire structure is meant to collapse. Whoa, whoa, whoa wo
I need to get some more water. This greatness is

(43:25):
just it's too much to handle right now. We'll be
back in a moment. So you can flip the top
down and what that does is that allows all of
the sections to completely come off, to completely fall apart.
All right. You've got multiple different sections that are falling down,
coming down, and believe it or not, there you go.

(43:46):
There you have it. Okay. It is just that simple,
that is. It is just meant to be that easy.
It's not that complicated. It completely opens up for play now.
You know, maybe there was a battle that happened, maybe
there's a battle happening now. But all those sections completely
come apart and everything is left over. Everything has fallen over.

(44:06):
There are only two studs holding on the entire top
sections of this build. Makes it weird, I know, it
makes it very, very very weird, but it happened. So
as your sections fall open, we're still around the back.
Of course, on the left side, we've got some stickerage
that is on this giant tile and it's meant to
show you it's got a ship, it's got a compass,

(44:27):
it's got an X Marxist spot, so they're going to
find some stuff. The other one on the right again,
same thing, a map, got an octopus on one X
marks the spot. It's meant to go along with this series.
I'm not going to give all those details away. If
you haven't watched it, go watch it. You're gonna enjoy it.
So there is that now to be able to put

(44:49):
this back together. You lift the sides, you sit thee
the sections back on top of one another, really easy,
not complicated, and then you flip the top back up
correctly with the flagpole and you're done. The thing is set.
It's ready for play again. You can use the cannon,
you can use you minifigs, you can use something else,
a different toy if you're a little if you got

(45:10):
little kids. Either way, it's still a fun way to play. Now.
Something else that we have to talk about the minifigs.
The reason we have to talk about the minifigs is
because one of the minifigs is really really weird looking
Monkey de loofy Okay. Third rendition of him, completely different.
He's got the same body as far as prints for

(45:31):
his torso for his legs that he did on the
previous set that we just talked about. Same thing with
the hair. I believe he comes with a hat in
this one, don't. I don't recall. I don't have it
near me. He's got an angry face and he's got
a smiling face, so a little bit different. But the
thing that makes him different here are he's got these
really long rubber arms that are sticking out his side.

(45:55):
Each arm is sticking out a good couple of inches
or centimeters, really really weird. Now they do slide the
entire way through, so you can make one super super
short and one super long, or you can keep them
both long. This is meant to come into play for
the episode. Not gonna give all the details away because
I think you should really go watch it. If you haven't,
please go watch it. I think you will enjoy it.

(46:17):
It is a good eight episode watch. It's not gonna
take you forever. Goes through pretty quick. The action's pretty
good and before you know it, forty minutes roughly is gone.
So he's got these super long, freakish long rubbery arms.
Remember we said he can stretch. He hate the gum gumfruit,
the double fruit. He is able to stretch like a weirdo,

(46:40):
like a like a cuckookachew dude. Our next minifig that
we have, we have Nomy again, different rendition of Noami.
All right. She is in more so her normal clothes.
She's not in that marine outfit that she had worn before.
I almost let it slip. No details coming out. She's
got a straw hat on here as well on her back.

(47:01):
Orange hair piece is the same. She's got a happy
face and she's got a crying face. She's got a
green top with some green printing on it, pretty good looking.
And then the black pants. That's it. Nothing printed on
the boot. Then we get our first opportunity to see
another new character, and we get what's his name you

(47:24):
sap U. Sap is a new character again, somebody else
that's being brought on. He wants to be a pirate
or Loofy wants him to join his pirate gang. He
comes with his kind of dreadlocked hair, dual molded with
a bandana, a green bandana. He's got two different faces.
He's got a smiley face and he's got a worried face.

(47:45):
He does come with a little satchel that you got
to sling over his shoulder, and he's got some band
I forget what he was wearing on his wrist, but
it's it's printed here on the wrist. Again. Details are
really important here. All these minipigs very very detailed. The
design team really really went above and beyond. His printing

(48:08):
on his shirt is very very interesting. It's got a
bunch of different sea stuff that is on it, a
bunch of different stuff that is on it. But it's
pretty cool in its own right. Just single colored pants.
Now we've got to move on to these two characters
are a long we can do first again. He is

(48:29):
the dude with that funky looking nose. He's got almost
some dreaded long hair going on. It's not dreaded dreadlocks,
but it's very long, wavy hair. He's got on like
those little Russian hats. Well I don't know what those
things are called, but his hair is rubbery feeling okay,
it's not that solid piece of hair, and he's got

(48:51):
a shark fin sticking out the back of that. His faces,
we've got a smiling face where he's kind of being devious,
and then he's got a closed mouth and then you
see that pronounced knows that he's got going on. He's
got a kind of a flamish yellowish orange vest on.
It's got some sea creatures that are on the front

(49:11):
in the back, and you can see his muscles through
on his chest, and then he's got blue, dark blue
pants on. Then I think this guy's name is Shoe,
not Chu. It's spelled c Hu, and it's one of
his sidekicks, you know, joining this pirate brigade that he's
got going on. Long kind of blondish hair, dirty blonde

(49:33):
hair that he's got got going on. He's got two
faces as well. He's kind of got a face where
he's closed or his mouth is closed, just kind of
almost happy, and then the other one that's kind of like, ah,
I'm gonna get you. But really cool printing of the
scales on the on the minifig head really sharp in
the way that is done. He's got a tooth necklace

(49:55):
on dark blue vest, black pants, and then he's holding
a bottle. Those are your minifigs. That is your set.
Minifigs are cool. This is we've done three sets. There
are two left all right there. That is gonna be
on the episode coming up. We're gonna talk about a
ship and we're gonna talk about a floating restaurant. Okay,

(50:16):
both again central focuses. There's only five sets, so they're
hitting main key things. But let's talk about these three
real quick. We have minifigs that are exclusive to each
of these sets. You get Loofy Kid Loofy. You can
only get him in the so far, you can only
get him in the first set. Michino shanks the first

(50:41):
two that accompanied him, don't see them again. Nami, two
different minifigs, two different, completely different prints, completely different face prints,
completely different Torso and legs. Zoro. We're gonna see Zoro again,
but we've got Zoro new character, you soop, new character right,
exclusive type things that are going on. So far. We've

(51:05):
got our Buggy, the clown Buggy. Only place you're gonna
find him are along and shoe. Same thing, same thing
with monkey and his long weird at arms. Only time
you're gonna be able to see those. So my point
is this, each of these sets are going to offer
you something a little bit different. You might say, oh, well,

(51:27):
I can get this minifig in this set, or perhaps
I can get all the minifigs in the last set.
Not so fast, my friend. There's gonna be exclusive stuff
to each set. Tiles aside little two by I think
they're two by three tiles those aside. It's gonna be tough.
You're really gonna have to go and spend the funds

(51:49):
to be able to get all of this, unless again,
you buy the minifigs separate. And I'm telling you, guys,
these minifigs are outstanding. The print quality is outstanding. The
design of the faces alone is impeccable. They capture such
intricate details from scenes from episodes from this series. I

(52:12):
cannot stress that enough. And there's especially with Monkey. With Loofy,
he's his face, the character's face in the series. He's
very animated in the way that his face contorts and
how he expresses emotions. You're not gonna see that. It's
completely different than like Zoro or Nami. He's really animated.

(52:32):
He's a really animated character. And I gotta say, I'd
never even heard of the actor before, but he is.
He's phenomenal, just absolutely phenomenal. Kid. That is that is acting.
I say kid, he's not. He's not like a kid kid,
but he is a kid. Anyway, the sets themselves, here's
the issue, all right, I say, here's the issue. The

(52:54):
thing is some of you were going to look at
this and say these are amazing because of what they
have to offer. Some of you are going to look
at these and say they're just play sets. I can't
do anything with this, And you might be right. You
might be right one hundred percent. You might be right,
But then you could always part it out right. You
can always use pieces to build mocks or to do

(53:14):
other things with. I had fun with the last one
that we talked about, the Rlong Park. I had fun
kind of knocking it down just seeing how it worked.
I didn't really break too many pieces off of the
main parts that fell, but it was fun. It's meant
for play, right, It's meant for play. But it's cool.
Are they are really fun? If you? If anything? And

(53:37):
I'm not going to tell you how to go spend
your your pennies, but my goodness, the minifigs in this
this wave are incredible, and I hope when the new
season comes out in twenty twenty six we get more sets.
I hope they sell well so that the Lego group
is like, yeah, you know, we got to continue with
this because they've they've just been They've they've blown me away.

(54:00):
Tails alone have been phenomenal, and each even the little
tiny set pieces that go along with these builds still,
you know, bring together a certain part from the episode
and you're like, oh, I remember that. You can look
at it and be like, oh I remember that. You
can see the scene in your head, you can remember

(54:20):
the episode, you can recall it just by looking at this.
Kids are gonna have fun with it, just because it's different.
It's something new. It's not Ninjago, it's not Monkey Kid,
it's not City. You know, on the girl side of things,
I say, on the girl side of things, boys can play.
Boys play with the you know, friends stuff. I love
the friends stuff, but it adds something else different into play. Now,

(54:42):
young kids that are probably should not be watching this series.
They're not gonna understand all of the things that go
along with it, but they're gonna have fun with Lufy's
weird arms that are multiple inches long on each side.
They're gonna have fun with that. I had fun with it.
They're gonna have fun with Zor with his katana that's
attached to his neck but is meant to be in

(55:03):
his mouth. But they're not gonna know why. But they're
gonna think it's cool. They're gonna think it's fun to
play with. I thought it was fun to play with again,
Big Kid got to continue to play. The minute you
stop playing, your brain starts to die. Always play, always, always, always,
always play. So if I were gonna score everything to
this point, and I really want to save this for
the next episode, but if I if I just loosely

(55:26):
because it is specifically on the next episode, but if
just kind of want to give a roundabout play wise,
probably around at eight. Design wise, as far as focused
on what this series is, I would give it a
I'd give it a ten. They knocked it out of
the park. The design team knocked it out of the park,

(55:47):
you know, seeing some of the names that went through
and designed this stuff, and I'm like, okay, Atticus, everybody
that name is synonymous with greatness. At this point, I'm
not saying other designers are not. But it's it's one
of those things. Is like when somebody touches something, you're like,
oh man, that's awesome, that's wicked cool, I love it,
that's great. So any of them. I think the sets

(56:10):
are great. I think they're fun, and I think you
should check them out. Definitely check out the series. That
costs you nothing. If you already have a Netflix membership
or you share with somebody, you could do that too.
So this has been a long one, and I'm glad
you've hung on for this long. I have been invigorated

(56:30):
and energize this entire time. I could probably talk for
another two hours about this stuff. The next episode coming
will be part two of this, and the second part
of this we'll talk about the last two sets. Like
I had mentioned, you gonna be another long one. There's
