Speaker 2 (00:00):
Shut up and.

Speaker 1 (00:10):
Welcome to the Brick Sking Podcast, where I'm gonna bend
your hear about Lego, review those amazing bricks and plastic,
and discuss what is new and upcoming around the Lego world.

Speaker 2 (00:29):
I'm your minifig ghost Matt. Let's build on it. Welcome in, everybody.
How are you doing today? I have been waiting to
talk to you about the floating restaurant for some time
because it is such a cool set, such a fun build,
such a unique build, such a unique everything in so

(00:53):
many different ways. So let's go ahead and jump straight
and straight. Just we'll just we'll just dive right in into
the water and come ashore, come afloat next to the restaurant.
So the set is the bar T floating restaurant, bar T. Okay,
they're very specific in the series. We're talking about the

(01:15):
continuation of the Netflix series. One piece that Lego has
a collaboration with. This has to do with the live action. However, again,
like I had mentioned, this is all piggybacking on the
original anime series. So if you have not listened to
the past couple episodes where we have talked a little

(01:36):
bit more in depth about the show. I encourage you
to go listen to that first. It will give you
a little bit more of a background instead of jumping
into this one straight in, but moving forward with the
rest of us and those of you catching up later.
Seven five six four zero is the set number. It
retails four get ready, three hundred and thirty bucks and

(01:59):
three hundred euros. Yikes amonga. I know right it has
three four hundred and two pieces. I believe previously that
I had mentioned that it had forty three hundred pieces.
Got things a little cross eyed backward there, uh, But nevertheless,
thirty four hundred pieces is a lot. There is a

(02:21):
lot here with those pieces, because you know, some we've
seen this so many different times where you have sets
that have these big old pieces of plastic and you're like, okay,
or you have you know, seven thousand pieces and five
hundred of those are hot dogs, silver hot dogs or
something like that. You know, there's so many different things

(02:45):
that when these sets come together and you build them,
you really start to see what their makeup is, aside
from what you're building, what the pieces are really creating,
what the parts are coming together to create, and understanding Okay,
I can see why there's this many pieces, as many
parts used to build this, this, this, this, and then

(03:06):
in a culmination, the entire thing. So we're gonna touch
on a few different things. There are, believe it or not,
there are twelve if you want to call it twelve.
There are essentially twelve minifigs in this They're not all
what I would consider minifigs from the series, so we
can talk about that. But a lot of exclusive things

(03:29):
that are in this series that are in this set
from the series, which is a huge deal, minifigs that
you're not going to see literally anywhere else. So that
makes it, you know, very very very very interesting to
be able to get price point. We'll talk about the
price point at the end, and you'll have to make

(03:49):
the decision. You have to make the decision. I know
where you think the value really is. I know where
I think the value is, but you'll have to make
that determination as well. So I want to give you
a rough scale of the sheer size of this. So
this thing is tallying in at twenty one inches long,
about thirteen inches fourteen inches high, and about ten inches deep,

(04:13):
so pretty large dimensions overall for what you're really getting.
But what you're really getting is a solid, really a
truly unique fun build behind this. So you kind of
mix some modular ideas into the techniques that are thrown
into building some of the things, whether it be furniture

(04:35):
or some of the techniques just getting structure, attaching to
be able to get curves or you know, you're getting
you're getting kind of a playset feel as well, which
this can be a play set in its own. I mean,
I guess the modulars can to a certain degree, but
this is open on the back, like I had mentioned,
so you have you have a full three hundred and

(04:58):
sixty degree opportunity to be able to set minifigs, to
be able to play with mini figs. If like I
don't know that kids so much are going to be
after the uh this series to watch to be able
to play. But maybe I mean Monkey de Loofy, the
character the cast member for it was actually a really
great cast I don't know of him in anything else.

(05:21):
But it's like I said, if you've seen the show,
you already know and you kind of get the uniqueness
of it and how this gonna all goes together. So
let's let's start in the front here now, there's there's
lore behind this restaurant. I'm not going to get into
a lot of it because that's that's gonna take entirely
too long to give the backstory on this. But on

(05:44):
the very front left side of this thing, you have
a fish head, a brick built fish head with mouth
agape and it's really kind of unique and how that
was really captured. You're gonna look at it and say, well,
it's it's not really anything too impressive. I wouldn't. I
wouldn't call it really impressive. I would just call it

(06:07):
really good parts usage with to be able to get
these rounded lips of the fish, the rounded head, to
be able to get the eye and really not have
any c through gaps or spaces and still kind of
get that natural feel of you know, kind of stud
on the sides build but really no studs that are

(06:29):
sticking out on too many different spots. So I know
some people are gonna be like, oh, but I want
to feel I want to feel the studs. I want
to feel that it's lego. You can still do that,
just not right here. But we've got this big old
fish head that is down here, and mind you, so
this is a section that gets built. You have different
sections that attach into the main build the main structure

(06:54):
and lock in, whether it be pinned in and then
stud it in or played it in, however you want
to say that all said and done, everything really comes
down to it is locked into place. It's not going anywhere.
So this little fish head that you have here, it's
all white. And then you have the gold bunch of
gold pieces. The only issue that I have with the

(07:16):
gold pieces are there's two different variations of the gold color,
which is Yeah, I don't like the way that is done.
I think that has to do with the molding of
the pieces maybe, or maybe certain pieces are made somewhere else.
I don't know. I don't know, but that's something I
wasn't a big fan of. Just the way it looks.
It comes across as very segmented, the lips of this fish,

(07:40):
especially on the top end of it. But inside of
the fish mouth, what we have is we've we've got
a little cocktail bar that is down in here, and
you've got some tables that are just clipped into place
with some drink cups that are on top, and yeah,
that's what's going on over there. You get some like
a rounded old couch type seating that is here, and
you actually have some studs there for minifigs to be

(08:02):
able to stud into their butt so they can't move.
So yeah, that's kind of nice. We've got what appears
like it's supposed to be like a radio almost it's not.
It is just really the backside of the connection for
one of the sides of the heads of the fish
in the way that that is attached. Really great design.

(08:24):
I like to think of it as some kind of
modern kind of off kilter radio or stereo system or
music system whatever, music box, jukebox, whatever is in there.
And then we have some lights as well that are
in there. But moving along the front, we've got a
faux window that is here. Sticker, of course, there's a

(08:44):
few stickers, a number of stickers, more than just a few,
there's a number of stickers. But the stickers are accent accentual, accented, accenting.
They are bringing out the set. They are not hindering
in any way. So this is supposed to be a
ship of a sense that is run aground, run ashore,

(09:06):
and what you have, so you have your portholes where
your cannons would be shooting out of So you've got
portholes that are everywhere. Those are windows in the sand
green that have the black lattice, and they have red
shutter doors that you can open and door close. Maybe
you want to bat down the hatches for a hurricane,
maybe not, but you have a number of those in
the front so that you can do as you please

(09:28):
with those. We have a really large top balcony, which
we'll talk about in a moment. We're going to do
that separate, but across the front you get the really
nice feel of the ship. And then what you really
really start to appreciate is the design. It really took
to be able to get the swivel of the ends,

(09:49):
the left end and the right end on the sides,
to be able to kick them inward to make it
feel like a rounded ship. And the way that they
did that was it's a really I look. There are
days where I know, there are days where I say, man,
I don't know about this design. I don't know about

(10:10):
this set, And I feel bad because you know, the
designers are pouring their sweat, blood tears into this stuff.
Sometimes it's just not for me when I come across
something like this, all I want to do is just
stare at it and say, wow, you guys sat around
for hours just picking up pieces, slapping things together to

(10:32):
try and come up with the perfect way to be
able to accentuate the fact that this was a ship
at some point in time, instead of it just being
a flat faced front, instead of it just being a facade,
which it is a facade in a sense, but it's
just the way that it was accomplished. It's just phenomenal. Now,
when I say facade, you have a lot of the

(10:53):
structure that is built in behind, and then you have
a bunch of different tiling options that go and go
on along the front end here, different textures, different depths,
different colors. So all of that said and done really
gives you that focus of this was a ship. This
was an active ship once upon a time, and now

(11:15):
it's a floating restaurant. But hey, moving along. So down
on the bottom, what we have is you've got your
center in the center of this thing. You have your
center door that actually does open. It is a sticker
sticker on the front of the door to be able
to get into there. But you have a really nice
entrance that is done here. You have a glass piece

(11:37):
of glass that is done up above the doorframe assembly
that has a sticker on it to make it look
like it's a segmented glass. You have the bar Tee
logo that is right above the doorframe as well, that
is a sticker. Like I said, everything in here, aside
from the tiny, tiny super tiny tiles are printed, even

(12:00):
your little red globes, your red little red lights that
are on opposite sides of the doorway. They are one
by two tiles, the trans red tiles, and just some
sticker there to be able to get the effect for that,
So that works as well. Now, two of the minifigs
that I had said that were included in this set

(12:20):
aren't really minifigs because they are mermaids. They are the
sand green mermaids that we have here, and they are
each holding a lantern on top of the wooden deck
that allows you access into into the into the main
doorway to go into the restaurant. Now in here, on

(12:40):
the front, the very very very very front of this thing,
what you'll notice is a splat gear and we've got
a splat gear here and they're on this wooden deck.
There's water accents as well. Blue tiles all around along
the front, along the sides and stuff to give you
that feel of you're on the water, right. This is
a flowing ship, not a floating ship. It is a

(13:01):
restaurant that is, you know, beached whatever. But AnyWho, what
we have is we have some tiles here round two
by two tiles with a stud in the center, and
there's a worm here in the front. And what that
does is that allows you to turn your minifigs that
are standing there on there. I don't remember what it

(13:24):
was for for the scene from the series. I knew
it had to do with something I just can't remember,
but that is there, so action feature. Hello, you know
that's always good to have. So moving away from that,
the right side of the ship is you know, the
same kind of decoration as the left side of the

(13:46):
ship is. Again, you've got that angle that works in
here to be able to make it feel like it.
You have a doorway here with a skull and crossbones
type of chef skeleton, a head with a chef's hat
on the door leads you into the kitchen here. And

(14:06):
then you have a little dock piece that is here
as well, so that you can park your boat up
right next to it. That pretty much does it for
the front. What I want to do is take your
attention to the very top deck of the ship and
then we'll flip the thing around and we'll talk about
what we have on the inside and what the backside
looks like. So on the very top end of this ship,

(14:27):
we have a couple different things. You have your main
deck that is up here, your lounging deck where patrons
can go up. You have a couple brick built chairs,
lounge chairs for them to sit in, chill, sit back
and relax, enjoy their fine pirate drinks that they're having.
We've got some flowers that are up here. We have
a little couple side tables as well. One has a

(14:50):
lime slice on it. You know, you've got to have
lime with your water, of course, that makes sense. We've
got some sand green columns mixed with some gold and
some tan here. That is a nice littlecentuation detail because
what it does is it brings out the bar Tee ship.
You have another brick built ship with a brick built ship.

(15:10):
So you have the bar Tee which is supposed to
be your your logo, which is a sticker here with
the different kind of script and then it is supposed
to look like a ship, and then there's another little
ship on top of it, so it's almost like a
ship in a bottle meets a ship on top of
a ship on top of a ship. Very unique, very fun.

(15:34):
I absolutely love the tiny, little brick built ship that
is up here. I say tiny, it is still rather
quite large. I don't know. It's probably six or eight
inches long and about five inches tall. But you've got
the when we talked about the ship from Oh my Goodness,

(15:54):
the last episode the Merry Go or what was it,
the going pirate ship with the decoration that they had
in the front of that, that almost feels like this.
I don't think it is exactly. I think this is
just meant to be just a ship, but nice little

(16:14):
decoration with that little small brick built got some angel
wings on there, so that's kind of cool. You have
all the mass, you have the center here, so I
guess this is meant to be the essentially a lighthouse
of sorts, you know, so nobody runs aground over here.
But we've got some lantern and some other ship decorations
as well. Now the cool thing is the bottom part

(16:37):
of this comes off, and that allows you access to
other things that are down below in here. So let's
go ahead and flip this puppy around and talk about
what is on the backside on all the levels, all
the details, all the goods that make up the inside
of this floating well not floating. It's not floating anymore,

(16:59):
this beautiful restaurant. So now that we're on the back
side of this, it starts to feel much more like
a modular on the inside. Why because you have all
of these little brick built details that go in to
create this gorgeous restaurant. I mean, it is just really
sharp in the way that it has done just overall.

(17:21):
You know, you've got like little passageways and stuff like that.
Just lots of fun goodness here. So let's go ahead
and talk about the top center section. I want to
start with the top center section because we had just
talked about the reverse side of it, so that allows
us to be able to do I wanted to describe

(17:43):
what the other side of this has so to be
able to get up to this section. There's really no
true way to be able to get up here. I
guess you could jump from the front, but what you
have in here is. You've got gems. You've got a
saber that is in here. Here you have a geode,
You've got a candle, a wax candle that is in here.

(18:06):
Got a cup, some kind of mug, something to drink from.
So you've got all of this stuff that is on
the back side of this ship, things that are important
to the show. I guess you could say to a
certain degree. But you have all of that stuff that
is there. I'm trying to think. I don't recall anything

(18:26):
really specific from this little setup that comes to mind
for the actual show, but you know, it is what
it is. There's two little ladders, little ladder pieces that
they have here as well for you to climb up
on the deck here as well, on that little section.
So I'm going to remove that entire section. And the

(18:47):
reason is so that you can actually when you build
this thing, when you actually have it together, you can
actually get back into where the grand staircase is, where
the balcony is back there, because the main bow balcony
is underneath all of that, and it's really kind of
hard to get adult hands really far back in there.
So let's go ahead. We'll start from the right this time.

(19:10):
I don't want to go from the left. Let's start
from the right where the fish mouth was. So on
the very so on the second deck. What we've got
is we've got stair steps that lead up to the
very top deck where we had those brick built chairs
and the flowers and the drinks and the lime. You

(19:30):
have all of that. So you've got stairs that lead
up to there. We have a wanted poster on this level.
There are five that come with this this set. Unfortunately
still chasing. Some of them did not manage to get
all of it. That was one of those things that
I told you we would talk about on the very
last episode when we were talking about the everything in culmination.

(19:50):
That's a that's going to be a pain point for
me when we get to the end of this. So
you got your stairs to go up there. More lanterns.
We've got a table over here with a chicken leg,
trikey leg. We've got a goblet for whatever you're drinking.
And in a fixed chair. It is not a turntable
underneath there, so the chair is stationary. It is tacked

(20:11):
down by studs. We've got a tiled railing here with
some gold cones. Gold is a big theme throughout this
set with a bunch of different things, whether it be
the banisters, whether it be uprights, whether it be the
pieces underneath your posts for your railings, all that kind

(20:32):
of stuff. Gold, gold, mold, gold, gold, and more gold.
I think I said mold there, so if I did
awesome gold, mold, moldy gold. Hello, that's an Inspector Gadget episode. Sorry,
there goes the ADHD again. Anyho, we're gonna walk away.
If you've ever seen the show Guts, it was on

(20:53):
Nickelodeon back in the early mid nineties. Not Guts, Oh
my goodness, what am I thinking of? I'm all over
the place today. Legends of the Hidden Temple it was
only on for a couple of seasons. They tried to
revive it, like I don't know, twenty years after. Didn't
do very well anyway. Legends of the Hidden Temple, if

(21:15):
you've ever seen it on Nickelodeon or wherever it's streaming
these days. At the end of it, what happens is
you you end up in Olmec's temple and you're going
through and you're trying to collect whatever artifact it is
from the show. Long story short, you're going through all
these obstacles and stuff. I feel very much like this

(21:37):
build to me, I see a lot of things from
that with going from this corridor to here, to these stairs,
to down to up the secret passageway, all kinds of
different things. So I see that in my head. If
you know what I'm talking about, maybe you could see
it as well. Anyway, So we're gonna drop down here,
We're gonna step out onto the balcony. It is in

(22:00):
the very center, still the same height, but we're going
to step out onto the balcony. Here. We've got some
stickers that are back in here, and we've got a
sticker of the bar te the catch of the day,
the menu. We've got, you know, some pirate stickers and
stuff like that that we have in here. And then
you get to see some of the trans light coming

(22:22):
through the trains tiles on the other side. That is
kind of nice. I really like the way that that
is done. And then on the very top, very front
end of this balcony, we have a big b in
cursive writing, so again the bar t So now you
have stairs. We have a really fun way of doing
brick built stairs. Some nice kind of plate usage here

(22:45):
kind of not what I would have expected. But we're
just stacking. You're building these assemblies, the stair assemblies. Each
stair step is built the exact same and you just
step it up, step it up, step it up until
you get to the top. But it gives you rounded
staircase at the end, because all of these are slightly angled.
So we've got our staircase. You can go down the

(23:06):
left or you can go down to the right. It
doesn't matter. When you come down the staircase, what you
notice is a gritted floor. You've got black and white
triangle tiles, so we've got those some studded tiles that
are two by two tiles that are down here in
white as well. But if you come down those stairs

(23:29):
and you turn towards the front, that leads you to
the front door and you head on out there, there's
not a whole lot going on there, just pretty much
your what I guess you would call for the most
part of standard entry for your door whatever. Nothing like
I said, nothing wild or crazy or anything like that.

(23:51):
But that's if you come down. What we're going to
do is we're going to hop over to the left side.
We're going to stay up on that middle tier. So
we're going to go back up the steps. You're gonna
turn left this time, you're gonna turn left, and you're
gonna enter into another opening. Has a table, has a ball,
has a candle that is on the table, a little
lantern on the table. You've got chairs that are in

(24:13):
place here to be able to sit down, have some food,
have some drink. You've got another tile back here of
a reward poster. And then we enter into what is
essentially supposed to be the captain's quarters. Right, this is
supposed to be the main the I forget what his
name is. We'll talk about him here at the end.

(24:34):
But the gentleman that owns the ship, the ship, I
keep saying, the ship, the restaurant. He has his own
little quarters. Zeph I think is his name? Zeph. I
think it's Zeph Zeph or ze I can't. I can't
remember whether it's two e fs or it's too easy anyway.

(24:56):
So this is his quarters again. We see some gold
co here. It's kind of meant to make almost like
a faux wall that we have going on here. There
is a little door, a little gate, I guess you
could say, to be able to get into the main quarters.
What we do is we have a little brick built
chair that is here. It looks like a toilet, is

(25:18):
what it looks like to me in the way that
it is done. We've got some Ninjago helmet decoration that
is supposed to be the back, the backresh for it.
He's got his little table here. There is a map
tile that is up here to show the great blue
tracking to the one piece. I guess. We've got a compass.

(25:38):
We've got the snail piece with the printed snail, microphone,
talking piece, whatever you want to whatever you want to
refer to it as like I had mentioned before, these
snails as talking communication devices. It's very, very bizarre, but
it is what it is. And then we have a
brick built piece of furniture here that is meant to

(26:00):
I don't know if I'm gonna be able to get
this open, but it's got a window in here, and
it's got some gold doors that the window pieces or
whatever to be able to open it. Okay, I did
get it. There is an elixir, if you will, that
is on the inside of this. It is hidden, so
that is in there. I just use the little lamp

(26:22):
piece that was here to pry that open. And then
to the very left of this that leads to the exit.
What you have is you've got a little trap door.
You've got a trapdoor, a secret door to be able
to climb out and just folds down and there you go.
You can escape. So what we're gonna do is we're
going to go back to the center and we're gonna
come down the stairs yet again to that floor, that

(26:44):
tiled floor and black and white down there, and in
the middle of the floor, we've got this kind of
globe deal that we've got going on with some green
and gold that we've got meant to be some kind
of table. Got some more chairs here to be able
to sit at. Then we've got some round areas. I
don't know if you can hear that or not, but
what we've got, we've got some rounded areas for you

(27:06):
to be able to sit at. And these are on turntables,
believe it or not, so they're brick built. They're rounded
of course. Again. Uh, but you've got tables. But the
seating is really unique in the way it's done. Some
tiling along the floor down here, and what you can
do is you can just spin those around. You can
be able to spin those too, be able to get
your minifigs to sit a certain way. You want them

(27:27):
to look out or you don't, you want them to
look inward. Just fun little detail that is there as well.
So what we're gonna do is we're gonna go left.
If we're on the bottom and we go to the right,
we head back to the fish, fish headbar whatever watering
whole area. Not really of need to go there, So
we're gonna head towards the galley the kitchen because it

(27:49):
is kitchen. Now. We do have a brick built lamp
that is over here, and then we have some art
decoration that is on the wall. So we're gonna open
the door. We're gonna go through, and then we see
some more tiling of the floor, one by one black
tiles and then different variants of white tiling and such

(28:10):
so that we have all over the place and even
some rounded quarter round tiles to give it some more depth,
give it some more textures, some more feeling. So inside
of this kitchen, it is very very tiny, I should
say it isn't super tiny, but it is pretty tiny.
But you've got your little sink that you've got in here.
You've got your stove where we've got a pan with

(28:32):
an egg. We've got a crab that's chilling over there,
and another spot that you can use to chop up
and eat. These pieces are interchangeable. You can move them around.
They're only held on by two single studs, so you
can move those things around if you want. Maybe you
want to partake in recreating apart from I don't know
the series, and you know, create chaos in the kitchen

(28:54):
and things get thrown and tossed and things get knocked
over and just chaotic or not. We've got a fish
that is hanging that is drying, I'm assuming. We've got
a beater that is on the wall. We have a
shelf that's got a an egg. It's weird to see
an egg sitting on a shelf. But we've got a
ball and some pots and some pants and some stuff

(29:15):
like that. And then further in the back end, we've
got a piece of slice green slice. I'm I don't remember.
Maybe it was Jello. I don't remember. It's Jurassic Park jello,
don't you know. So we got that that is back there.
But I like the way that the kitchen is done
the kitchen is very similar to way that it was

(29:36):
done on the ship that we talked about on the
last episode. Not identical obviously, but very much similar. Feel
that you're on a ship or you were on a ship.
You get that feel very much so with based on
what you're seeing in the kitchen. Seafood in the kitchen,

(29:57):
you know, not a whole lot of chicken or beef
anything like that. There is one thing that I did miss,
the rounded seating areas that I said that move around.
There are tables that are there and they have some
different food items on there. One has what looks like
a salad and another has some sort of sandwich with
some green leaves in it. Very health conscious food, very

(30:19):
good to hear, right, Always good to stay healthy as
best as you can so you can live as long
as you can to be around the people that you
love the most. Anyway, So what we're gonna do is
we're going to talk about minifigs because oh, i'd lie.
There's one little build and I almost totally forgot about it. This.

(30:41):
I really wish there was another way to be able
to see this character other than just on this build.
And Captain, I think is Captain Meehawk, I think is
what his name is. He is like a vampire type
character in the series, but he's another pirate, another one
that is you know, has a bounty after him, so

(31:04):
that is something that yeah, But he comes with a
little brick built his little ship. Essentially it's a little
dinghy almost, but he's got some vampire fangs that are
in the front end of this, some teeth that are
on the side, a brick built sail that is kind
of stowed at the at the moment with the mast,

(31:25):
some candles that are on here. Most of this is
pretty much just tan stuff, and then you have a
seat for him to be able to sit in. And
we'll talk about his minifig in a minute. But it's
nice to have because he does play a role in
the series, but it is very very very very minor,

(31:45):
but it is nice to get an exclusive minifig. And
I do love the way that he looks in his
minifig character. So let's go ahead and talk about some
of the minifigs that we have here. So the first
one that I want to talk about is hel Mipo.
And hel Mipo we saw in this series and he
was a kind of a no it all and then

(32:12):
bekind of became a disgraced marine to a certain degree,
and it took the back seat. And such he is
in the marine uniform where it says kidet on the
front and marine on the back. And then he has
two faces. He's got short blonde hair here he's got
a concerned face, and he's got a slightly smiled face,

(32:33):
almost like an apprehensive smile. There's some printing on his
arms to make his sleeves, and then he's got the
dark colored pants, so exclusive minifig yet again. Then we're
gonna move on to a character that I was hoping
that we would get it sooner because this character does

(32:54):
play a role throughout the series, and their role kind
of transforms. So you see in the very first episode,
and then I think all subsequent episodes after Kobe and
Kobe is was I cannot remember Elvida Elvit. I think

(33:14):
it was Elvida was the pirate in the very first
episode that Kobe was taken prisoner aboard where Monkey Dee
Loofy finally met this person. So he's got pink hare
on one side or on one side, so pink care
I don't recall seeing this hair anywhere else, I believe
this could be exclusive. I could be wrong, but I

(33:38):
would be shocked if it were somewhere else. But glasses faces,
a smiley face, and a concerned face marine uniform as well.
Same exact deal as Helmipo. So again, two exclusive minifigs.
We're just we're racking them up. You know you want exclusive.
The next one we're going to talk about is garb

(33:59):
and spoiler alert if you have not seen it by now,
I'm sorry. I'm gonna spoil this for you, So if
you don't want to hear it, tune out for the
next I don't know five seconds. So Garp is the
grandfather of Monkey de Loofy. Garp is in his uniform.
He is a marine commander. I don't know if he's

(34:21):
a general admiral, I don't I don't recall specifically. It's
been a minute since I saw it. But he's got
his gray, spiky hair, he's got his shoulder. I think
there are they called Vambran says. I can't remember. It's
been a while since I've played Assassin's Creed. But he's
got nice printing on his chest, not too much on

(34:43):
his back, but he's in white, so it looks sharp
with the red shoulder pad. Deals He's got two faces.
He's got kind of almost like an evil smile and
then just a grumpy look because you know he is
he is Garp. And you know, I guess when you've
been try to track monkey and you've constantly been getting

(35:03):
the run around or wherever you go, you kind of
get irritated from time to time. I would, I would
believe so. But Garp is exclusive, so again exclusive, exclusive, exclusive,
right that is super important. Then we're gonna move on
to Meehawk. So mee Hawk was the pirate that I

(35:24):
was talking about. He comes with a big old blade
sword that we have here. I mean a massive sword
for this guy. He's not gonna be able to stand
up with this. He's gonna fall over. He's got a
little golden knife as well, a little dagger that comes
with him. He's got a cowboy hat, and I love
his decor. One of the things that I was interested

(35:47):
in was he has a studded piece that is on
his back. I mean, I guess you could attach his
cowboy hat. I don't know why you would. He looks
weird without a hat on, but I guess you could
do without. But he is, you know, vampire dude, so
he's got the vampire eyes. He's got a nice little

(36:09):
beard that goes from the whole way from the underside
of his hat the whole way around to his just
just looks sharp in the way that he's done with
his mustache as well. I love this minifig head. I
absolutely love the way this head was done. For the
rest of his print, what we have is he's got
a jacket on and you can see his shredded twelve

(36:32):
pack of muscles that Homeboys got going on here, So
good on you man. He's been hitting the gym extra
hard ab days, making them count. So then we get
down to his pants. He's got some printing on the
toes of his feet, and he's got some printing for
what he's wearing for his legs. Over All, though, the

(36:53):
printing of this on black I think looks pretty good.
Even his chest I think is probably dark enough to
get the feel. You know, he is kind of tan
in the series, so you know, to see it not completely,
not completely this fleshy color like his head, I'm okay with.

(37:18):
So that's me Hawk, And we talked about his ship,
his little dinghy already. So let's go on to some
of the main characters that we've seen so far. So
Monkey de Loofy. We're getting Monkey here, and we're getting
Monkey with his dual molded hat and hair combo. He's
wearing his red vest with his blue pants here yet again,
he's got a smiley face on one side and he's

(37:39):
got his angry face on the other. He's going full
on hawk mode in this one. Then we're gonna move
on to Nami, and Nami is in her white shirt here,
the one that's again when she stole it from the marine.
She knocked the one dude out and stole it. She
got her orange hair, smiley face, angry face works well

(38:00):
for Nami. And then she's got our orange pants that
she's got going on. And we're gonna move on to
Usap and Usap has got his bandana which is that
pinkish coral color, and his dreads hanging out. I love
this little hair piece that they have for him. The
texture of it I think is really really nicely done.

(38:22):
He's got a satchel and he's wearing his brown get up,
which I believe we talked about on the last on
the last episode, and we're gonna move on to Zorro.
I think, I think, I think Zoro. I don't recall
if he was wearing this on one of the other
sets that we were talking about or not. I don't.

(38:42):
I don't believe so. But you know, he's got the
green hair, so you've got green hair for him here.
And then he's got his bandana, which I love, the
black bandana that he comes with. He comes with his
three swords as well, which if you missed that episode,
go back listen to it. You understand why he has
three swords and how he uses them. But he's got
his blue gee on with the black pants. Then we

(39:06):
moved to two extremely exclusive characters here, and we talked
about Soanji on the last episode when he made his debut.
This is the different Sanji. This is sanjy in his overalls,
in his blue overalls, his chef overalls. It's a blue
with some white printing you can kind of see like

(39:28):
the little chef's coat underneath. He comes with his blonde hair,
and then he's got a slightly wry smile and an
a very happy smile. So again exclusive because of the
printing here and now we finally get our hands on
this fantastic homeboy of Zeph, so Zef and Soanjy. I'm

(39:52):
gonna give you a little bit of a backstore here
so Zeph and Soanji. Zeff meets Sonji when Sanji was
a kid, and they've had a tenuous relationship many many
times throughout the series. And you understand why on one
of the final episodes, and it's due to the fact that, well,

(40:14):
let's talk about Zeph real quick. So Zeph has a
peg leg and he's got a darker silver gray colored
leg as well. For his pants, he's wearing a chef
jacket with a blue collar and blue yeah, blue collar,
and then he's got his little buzz cut hair. He
only has one face and it's kind of a scornful face,

(40:39):
but he's got these really long braided mustache, beard whatever
you want to call it. Very unique piece. You actually
get two in the set. I actually took one and
put it on my SigFig because I thought it'd be funny.
It is funny, it's just kind of silly. But the
peg leg, so in the series, what happened was Sonjy

(41:03):
and him. I don't recall specific details, but they ended
up crashed on this island and he gave Soanjy some food, right,
he said, eat this, you know, this is all you get.
This is all of our food or something like that.
So Soanjy. Throughout this episode there's flashbacks and stuff. So

(41:25):
Soanjy had when he was a kid. This was flashback
to when he was a kid. He had eaten all
this food and stuff, and he's starving, he's hallucinating, he's
losing his ever loving mind. And he comes back to
the other side of the mountain because Zef told him,
I don't want to see you. Get out of my face.
I don't ever want to see you again. Leave me
the whole one. So he comes back to the other

(41:46):
side of the area that they were on, and Soanji
starts to lose his ever love of mind because he's like,
you've had food the whole time, You've not been sharing.
What is going on? Well, then he comes to find out.
He looks down and Zef has been like he had
cut his leg off. How he didn't die from sepsis

(42:10):
or you know, sheer blood loss is beyond me, must man?
I mean, he was a chef. So homeboy can cook, right,
he's cooking up some thigh well, I guess caf in
this case. But he had cut his leg off and
he had, you know, was eating on that. He didn't
have any food. So what Soanji did is he initially

(42:33):
before realizing he had chopped his leg off, what he
had seen is he had seen this bag that Zeph
was holding, and Zef kind of, if I recall correctly,
pulled it back and Sonji grabbed the bag and looked
and it was just nothing but like gold and thieved items,
you know, things that were of value, but you can't eat.

(42:54):
You can't eat metal, right, So he gave Sonji all
the food. So you have this kind of heartwarming feeling
this moment and stuff like that that you know, he
gave up all of this so he could eat, and
knowing he was going to essentially starve to death, he
chose to his leg cannibalize himself. I didn't know that
was even a thing, but I guess it isn't. I

(43:18):
don't think you can chop your own leg off. I
think there's something in your brain that would keep you
from doing that. Self protection mechanism, I guess but anyway,
so that's how those two ended up meeting each other
and then obviously growing deeper into their story. That's not
the only way they met each other, but you get
my point. So we got a bunch of exclusive minifigs

(43:40):
that are in this set, Some that we've never seen
before at all. We've never even talked about, some that
I've been waiting to be able to hear, like, when
are we going to be able to talk about these
When are these characters going to make a spot in
the show, When are they going to come about? And
we finally have an opportunity to be able to get
them in this set. Now we go back to the

(44:00):
idea of this set and the price behind it, the
price point behind it being three hundred and thirty bucks
here in the US and three hundred euros abroad. So
the question becomes is it worth it? I think yes,
when you're talking about thirty four hundred pieces, I think
the value is here. If you're looking for a modular
this is not a modular If you're looking for a

(44:22):
modular esque feel, this has it. If you're looking for
just a play set, this is not it. That is
a really expensive playset. If you're looking for just something different,
to be able to display something different, to build this
could be something fun. If you're looking just to collect
the wave and get all five not including the brickhead brickheads,

(44:48):
that's fine. This is a fun little set. It is
a great build. I loved it. I thought it was
really fun to be able to go through, get the details,
add on this, do this, touch up that, have fun
doing this, learn about this. You're if you've seen this
series and you go to build this, you're kind of
snickering to yourself or you're kind of laughing a little bit,

(45:10):
like I remember this part. I remember when with this
part in the build was in the series, and you
kind of get all of that. So you can pose
your minifigs in two scenes and such like that. But yeah,
so you have you definitely, you definitely have that. Now.
There is one minifig that I wish we would have
gotten in this set that we didn't, and it was

(45:32):
I think his name was Currow. Currow was a bad
guy had to do with the young lady that we
talked about on the first episode of One Piece that
her parents owned the ship building yard and Curo was
the butler. Essentially looking after her because her parents mysteriously died.
Pretty sure he killed him, but he has a bounty

(45:56):
on his head as well, being a pirate of sorts,
so we have the tile of him in this set
I was able to get in this set. I wish
we would have got the minifig though. I think that
would have been a nice addition to be able to
have to go along. So obviously, with him being gone,
I don't think we'll be seeing him any longer, so

(46:20):
I think it's a missed opportunity. But anyway, you know,
it's unfortunate, but it's not the end of the world.
The value I think is here. The one thing, like
I said, that I wanted to touch on was the tiles,
the reward tiles that have all the different dollar amounts.
What I forget what their currency is that they called

(46:41):
in the game. I can't remember now, but whatever you
want to call the currency. I'm disappointed that they didn't
just assign tiles two different sets. I understand what you're
doing as far as we're just going to throw them
out there and you're gonna, you know, collect them all
kind of thing. I get that idea, But now I've

(47:04):
got to go back, and like I said before, you're
either going to have to go to brick Lank, or
you're gonna have to go to eBay, or you're gonna
have to, you know, go down that rabbit hole of
trying to find one, you know, just buying upsets, you know,
to try and be able to to pick one up.
And if you recall from the very first episode, the
cheapest set was thirty bucks, which you're not getting a
whole lot. I think we got were there two I

(47:27):
believe there were two in that set, maybe it was one,
but you're not getting a whole lot. So you're then
after that, you're exponentially increasing your price. Yes, you're getting
more opportunities to be able to get those tiles and
be able to collect everything. But it's like, I don't
I just want the tiles now, you know, it's like
somebody that wants just to collect the minifigs like I,
like I had mentioned, If you not somebody that is

(47:49):
dead set on this and you just want some of
the really cool minifigs, somebody's gonna be able to part
these out and say, hey, I'm gonna take these minifigs
and set them aside. Especially when we talk about Buggy
the clown, you know that with with how sharp that
he looked, and then you had Arlong and his mate
that was in that. Those are those are minifigs that
are super exclusive to their sets, very unique, very fun

(48:14):
and yeah, so I I don't know. I just I'm
not a big fan of the tiles not being assigned
to sets. Like I said, I believe there's what eight
of them, and I still haven't been anybody to get
all eight. I believe I'm missing two. I must have
five of Monkey d Loofy at this point, it's just insanity.

(48:38):
But yeah, so how are we going to score this?
How are we going to score this? Do we score
this as as a high nine? Do we score this
as a high seven? Well, that's really going to come
down to what you think. What I think is the
value is here, build wise, technique wise, it could be more,

(48:59):
but build old wise as a whole. I think the
value is there. Exclusive minifigs, the value is there, play experience.
If you want to set up scenes from the series,
the value is there. Is the value there's part per price,
piece price per part. Yeah, it's there. It's under ten cents.

(49:21):
Just like if I'm not mistaken. A majority, if not
all of these are under ten cents per piece, so
the value is there. In my opinion, the question becomes
where do you score it. Do you score it as
a nine or do you score as a seventy? Score
as an eighty. Scored as a ten, it's never going
to get a ten because there are things that are
not perfect. In my opinion, I would probably score this

(49:42):
as a nine. There's always room for improvement. I would
like to see some other builds in this be a
little bit more technical, Like I said, the front end
of the ship on the front side to be able
to get the angles. That was cool. I just wish
there were some more things there. We're added into here
from the series, maybe as a side build add on,

(50:05):
but again side build add ons don't always make it,
and what do you do with them after the fact.
So I'm gonna stick with a nine across the board. Now,
the wave, I think the wave is solid top to bottom.
You're getting sets that are iconic from the series. You're
getting sets that are very unique in their own builds.

(50:25):
You're getting sets that have unique minifigs to those builds only,
and you've got it across the entire series. You've got
it the way from the bottom end, the whole way
to the top end. Like I said, on the bottom end,
you're getting three exclusive minifigs right there in that set
with the Lady Shanks and Monkey Dee Loofy as a kid,

(50:46):
those are all exclusive. So you're getting all these different
minifigs that are exclusive along the way, different things. How
can you not love that? How can you not love that? So?
I thought the wave was fun. I thought it was
a fun build. I thought it was true to the series.
I could look at these builds and see, I remember

(51:08):
that scene, I remember this happening. I remember that scene.
I remember that you can see it play out in plastic.
You don't have to play it out, but you can
see it play out aside from the Battle of Arlong Park,
which again, is that meant to be like a play set? Yes?
Or is that meant to be like more of a display? No,

(51:29):
it's meant to be a playset. You've got the two
side builds or the is it two two or three
side builds that you had, you know, with the games
and stuff, and then you had the building that collapsed.
I would have loved to see the price of that
building be increased the price of that set instead of
going from let's go back here and look. Instead of

(51:51):
that being eighty bucks, I would have loved that at
one hundred, what does that give you another two hundred pieces?
I'm sure you could have done something a little bit different,
But you know, if you go too much higher, then
you get into the territory of the one hundred and
forty price point that the ship was at, and then
you make the big jump almost what another two hundred
bucks up to the bar team. So you have a

(52:15):
little bit of everything for every one, little kids, teens, adults,
a little bit of everything for everyone to be able
to play with and enjoy and have some fun with.
So I'm I'm happy with the Wave. I think it's
turned out really well. I cannot wait to see what
they I hope they continue on when season two comes

(52:36):
out in twenty twenty six. I hope we get to
see some new sets because they've just turned out really
really well. They've turned out really really well. So that's
gonna wrap up the episode. That's gonna wrap up one piece.
This is why I did not do this episode on
the back of the pirate ship. We would have been
here for hours, But we do have a Halloween episode

(52:56):
that is coming up later during Halloween Week. Hallow Week
is the thirty first Halloween's on a Friday this year,
so that is awesome. So that will drop on Halloween,
the day before Halloween, so that you can listen to
it for your Halloween and watch your spooky movies before
we kick over to Dia de la Mortos, right, I

(53:19):
say that right the Day of the Dead, and uh yeah.
Then we move into the beginning of the holidays season,
which is going to be bundles of joy and so
much fun. Right of course it does. Why wouldn't it be.
So let's let's wrap this puppy up. Hope you guys
enjoyed it. I had a blast. Take care of each other,

(53:39):
Say hi to the person walking down the street, and
be that shoulder for somebody else, especially when it comes
to their obsession with Lego. Uh push them forward, say
yes you do need that, Yes, absolutely, you do. You
need you need to get that. You see somebody staying
at the line at the Lego store and they're heaving
in hall and they're like, yeah, I don't know, you
need it. It's okay, forgive yourself another day, you need

(54:01):
the plastic, Just do it, Just do it. Until we
meet again. I'm your minific ghost. Nuts, let's building it.
