the less time you have to wine. You know, to to morrows,
and that will be what helps yourheal fasts more than anything, it

(00:34):
will supercharge any results you get.Food is better than any aggressive he talks.
Laugh, I'm retaining funny scene. And now you didn't. I think

(01:00):
your podcast would sound so good ifyou called it the Chrismall Podcast. You
think so, I do. Hey, what's up everybody? Welcome back to
the show. Welcome to the podcast. Thanks for joining me. Are you

(01:23):
guys feeling how you guys doing today? I'm doing all right, doing all
right, hanging in there as usual. Today we are going to be talking
about are we masking up again? That seems to be the rumors that are
going around. Some sources are sayingthat by the end of September October,

(01:44):
mask mandates will be back into afull effect. Lockdowns are coming again.
You guys heard about it. Wetalked about it in the last episode.
New COVID variants are coming around, falls here the flu. I guess new
rounds of vaccines are coming out,So it looks like the whole ship shows

(02:05):
coming back around again. And ofcourse, you know, we've got the
elections coming up, and I'm surethey want to do the mail and ballot
thing again, so the whole thingcould be rigged once more. That's my
belief, that's my opinion. Sothat looks like what's happening. I don't
know. You hear different sources, different agencies saying like the vaccines never worked

(02:27):
and they're not good for your health. Understand, we should stop doing them.
Others mainstream media is saying no,we gotta do them. So a
lot of disinformation out there. SoI mean, my head's clear, I
know what I'm doing where I'm going, but I could see if you're part
of the general population who follows mainstreammedia and stuff like that, it could

(02:49):
be a little bit confusing. SoI'm gonna read an article that I found
about masking coming back around, Sowe're gonna do that in this episode.
And I remember it was in twentytwenty masks social distancing, all that was
in full effect, And I rememberme and my family went to spirits because

(03:15):
it's about that time of year andwe'd love Halloween. So we're gonna go
do some shopping looking around, andyou know, everywhere you went you had
to put a mask on, thisand that, and I wasn't complying.
And so we went into Spirits andone of the employees comes up to me,
and, you know, politely,he's like, hey, you need
to put a mask on, andI politely responded, hey, I'm good.

(03:38):
No thanks, No, sir,you have to put a mask on.
No really, I'm good, butthank you. And we argued about
it for a few minutes, andso well, I'm gonna have to call
the police. Okay, fine, call the police. I don't care.
I'm not complying. She walked away. I don't think she ever called the
police. We did our shopping either. For twenty months, nobody ever showed

(04:00):
up. So but it's just youknow that the mask Nazis are out there,
and for the most part, Idid not comply with masking up.
There were a few occasions where Idid, just because you know, if
you're going to go into an establishmentor a business, you're going to run
into somebody who's gonna be like yougot uput a mask, and sometimes if

(04:23):
I'm just gonna be in and outin two seconds, I just didn't want
to deal with the headache, youknow what I mean. I just didn't
have the energy to have that conversationbecause I know it's gonna fall on deaf
ears. So there were a coupleof times I admit that I did put
on a mask. Sometimes my wifewas like, you better would, all

(04:43):
right, whatever, But for themost part I didn't comply. I don't
think they work. I don't didn'tunderstand it. And they said to cover
your nose and mouth and you're youroxygen source. That didn't make any sense.
The vaccine didn't make it. Imean, all right, Well,
anyway, so we're gonna be talkingabout masks today. Supposedly it's coming back
around. I found an article andwe're going to kind of break that down

(05:04):
and go through that. But beforewe do, let's hear from this episode

So this is an article I gotoff of CNN Health dot com. I

(08:24):
normally don't you know, follow CNNmainstream media because we all know it's propaganda.
It's the mine where the mind controlstarts. But most people generally follow
CNN News, and so I onlyfollow it just to see because the majority
of the world's gonna respond to whateverthey say, and they're gonna follow those

(08:46):
orders or those directives or whatever thatyou know, these mainstream media is put
out there. So it's just agood idea to keep tabs on what they're
talking about, what they're doing, because it ultimately will affect you, affect
you, even though you know it'smost likely this information a lot of the
time. But so I'm gonna besharing this this article here from seeing in

(09:07):
Health just to see what these guysare up to, what they're talking about.
And so, you know, I'mhearing the mask mandates that we're coming
back. You know, we gotthe election coming up, so it's probably
gonna be melon ballots again. There'slike it's gonna be the whole thing that
we saw last time. So youknow, sources are saying that, you

(09:28):
know, late September October, themask mandates were coming back. I don't
know in full effect, but we'regonna read this article here and see what's
going on. But yeah, let'sjust let's just be prepared, guys,
all right, So let's see,it may be time to break out the
masks again against COVID. Some expertsare sane. If you're at high risk

(09:52):
of serious illness or death from COVIDnineteen, it's time to dust off those
in ninety five masks and I usedthem snugglio over your nose and mouth to
protect yourself from a recent uptick ofthe virus. According to a growing number
of experts, that advice should goall the way up to eighty year old
President Joe Biden, said doctor JonathanRainier, a cardiologist. Octogenarians comprise the

(10:18):
highest risk group for complications following COVIDinfection. Rainier said, at least until
the numbers start to drop again,it would be appropriate for President Biden to
take some precautions and wear a maskin crowds. Other high risk groups include
people with diabetes, cancer, chronicliver, kidney or lung disease, organ

(10:41):
or stem cell transplants, HIV orother immunocompromising conditions, a history of heart
disease or stroke, dementia, ormental health issues. If you're a caregiver
for somebody who is at increased riskof complication following, then I think you
should also consider putting a mask onin public places, said Rainier, a

(11:05):
professor at the George Washington University Schoolof Medicine and Health Sciences. And since
the masks that are most effective arein ninety five that are now readily available,
that's the kind of mask you shouldwear, he added. The US
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention urgespeople to wear a mask with the best

(11:28):
fit, protection and comfort for you, and it notes that some people are
at higher risk for severe illness fromCOVID nineteen, but the agency doesn't make
a broad recommendation for everyone to adoptmasks. That could change if hospitalizations reach
critical levels. The CDC recommends universaluniversal masking and jurisdictions that have twenty or

(11:52):
more people with COVID per one hundredthousand and local hospitals, and masking for
high risk individuals when ten to nineteenpoint nine people poor over one hundred thousand
are hospitalized from the virus. Overall, there were about four new hospital admissions
for every one hundred thousand people nationwidein the week ending August twelfth, which

(12:13):
is considered low according to CDC thresholds. No counties had high levels of COVID
nineteen hospitalizations, but eighty five countiesabout three percent of the country. We're
in the medium threshold. About aquarter of those counties were in Florida indoors

(12:35):
when there's a lot of people andit's crowded, poor ventilation. I'm still
leary at this point, especially withthe uptock we're starting to see now,
which I don't know when it willplateau, said doctor Eric Topel, a
cardiologist at the Scripts Translational Research Institute. Now, we talked about this in

(12:56):
the last episode. A new variantb A two eighty six has captured scientists
attention because it's highly mutated, butso far it's only been detected in a
small number of people globally. Nonetheless, it doesn't look good in terms of
the virus NonStop evolution, Topele said. The virus keeps finding new ways to

(13:18):
challenge humans, to find new hostsand repeat host and it's relentless, relentless,
you guys, So what's going onwith COVID nineteen. The CDC stopped
reporting aggregate COVID nineteen case counts thisyear, but a growing number of hospitalizations

(13:39):
has triggered concern among those who trackthe disease. Levels of the virus,
and wastewater from toilets, which canbe an early indication of a COVID spike
in a community, have doubled, said doctor Robert Water, professor and chair
of the Department of Medicine at theUniversity of California, San Francisco. Toilet

(14:01):
wastewater Huh. Hospitalizations have not yetdoubled, but I think they probably will
as the numbers lag a couple ofweeks behind. Walker said, it's riskier
that you will get infected now thanit was a month or two ago,
without question, probably twice as risky. If you're trying to be careful.
It's time to whip out the maskagain. Although new coronavirus variants like the

(14:26):
dominant variant e G five may nothave driven the recent acceleration by themselves,
they might be somewhat resistant to immunityprovided by current vaccines and boosters. In
addition, most people haven't gotten abooster for a while, so the collective
immunity is lower than it was sixmonths ago. Walker said, the virus

(14:48):
sees that Anne sees most faces andnoses a mouse are uncovered and unprotected,
so it takes advantage of that opportunity. I read that again, the sees
that and sees most faces and nosesa mouse are uncovered and unprotected, so
it takes advantage of that opportunity. How does the virus see that? That's

(15:13):
curious way to put that. Anew booster designed to better protect against many
of the commonly circulating strains of COVIDwill be out in a month or so,
and most people can't wait for thatnew shot to jump start their immunity,
said doctor Peter chen Hong, professorof medicine and infectious disease specialist at

(15:33):
the University of California, San Francisco. But if you're over sixty five,
are immuno compromised, or I haven'thad a COVID, I haven't had COVID
recently, and you haven't had anotherdose of the bivalent booster, you should
get it now and protect yourself,he added. The new booster coming this
fall will target a family of omicronssubvariants called XBB and is expected to provide

(15:58):
good protection against even newer versions.Topel said, but scientists are not sure
how significant BA two eighty six willbe, so let's spring in action.
Some institutions are already reacting to therise in COVID. Morris Brown College in
Atlanta announced a return to mandated physicaldistancing and masks just one week after classes

(16:25):
started in August, and pediatricians arepoised for the typical return to school surge
and all kinds of respiratory illness, whether cold's flu or COVID. I've got
two kids in school, and ihaven't heard anything yet, so keep an
eye on that. We are seeingon increase in COVID cases, and in

(16:45):
general, the overall percentage of testingat home is low, so there may
be even more COVID cases than weknow about, especially since the vast majority
of kids have no or mild symptoms, said pediatrician doctor Sarah Bode, medical
director of School based Health and MobileClinics at Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus,

(17:07):
Ohio. Still, the majority ofstudents do not need to wear masks and
should instead use traditional prevention such ashandwashing, coughing into their elbow, and
staying home when sick, said Bode, who chairs the American Academy of Pediatrics
Council on School Health. However,if a child has a significant health condition

(17:30):
that affects their immune system and theirability to fight off infections, that is
when I would recommend talking with yourdoctor about the need to add a mask
to individually to help prevent exposure. She said. If necessary in an outbreak,
there could be returned to universal maskingat school, Bode said, but
I would definitely highlight encourage people tomake that their change and not to go

(17:53):
back to virtual learning. I secondthat we learned from the pandemic that kids
need to be in school. It'sreally important for their social and emotional health,
she said. Although some medical officesand hospitals have gradually dropped masking requirements,
a group of doctors in Washington Statewrote in an editorial published Tuesday that

(18:18):
healthcare settings should maintain masking even ifthe broader population doesn't. Masking also remains
an important mitigation measure to protect thehealth of our healthcare workforce, including those
who are at high risk for severedisease. The doctors wrote in the Annals
of Internal Medicine, now Here it'stalking about our Americans in the mood for

(18:41):
masking up again. Despite the concernamong experts in some institutions, Americans don't
appear to be worried enough about therecent rise in cases to change their behavior.
COVID nineteen was at the bottom oftheir list of key public health threats.
According to the latest American Health Indexpoll. The number of adults who

(19:03):
say they wear a mask in publicsometimes or all the times continues to decline.
The poll found while eighty two percenthaven't taken at home COVID test in
the past week. Now, whenit comes to protecting themselves, everybody's choosing
their own adventure now. Walker said, I don't particularly blame young, healthy
vaccinated people for saying I'm over this. I don't want to deal with this

(19:26):
anymore. As long as they havetheir eyes open and understand the risk that
they're taking. COVID isn't just onlyabout the effects of infection, Chinhong said,
adding that the infection can raise therisk of diabetes, heart disease,
or Alzheimer's. That's independent of longCOVID. You don't want to be afraid
of it or go around like aboy in a bubble, he said.

(19:48):
But if you cannot get it,that's a good thing. At any age.
Now, regardless of how you mayfeel about wearing a mask, the
reality is that COVID nineteen is hereto stay, Spert said, and we
will need to continue to adapt. The virus is always looking waiting for openings.
So I think COVID is just goingto be a bit of a roller
coaster probably forever. Walker said,I liken it to the Golden gate Bridge.

(20:15):
You've finished painting it. In theminute you're done, You've got to
start all over again. All right, you guys, what do you think
face stipers again? We're masking up. I don't know. I don't know.
Man, fasten your seatbelts, holdon. This is like it rough
all right. See guys, thanksfor listening to the episode. And by

(20:37):
the way, before I sign off, my supplements company Massive, we are
doing a Massive Meltdown challenge starting inOctober, runs for the whole month,
where you fast for one day, take their supplements the other day to clean
diet. I think last almost twentypounds last time I did it. But
there's a fasting kit you can buy. And here's the kicker. It's your

(21:02):
first time doing this challenge. Youwill get a full refund for completing the
challenge. I think there's a certainamount of weight you have to lose.
I forget what it is, andthere's some social media requirements you have to
meet to be eligible to get afull refund, and then on top of
that, they'll give you a onehundred dollars coupon at the end for additional
supplements, so it's a win win. I don't know how this makes sense

(21:23):
as the business model, but anyways, we're doing. It's start in October.
First Massive Meltdown Challenge. I'm askingyou guys to join. Do it.
There's nothing to lose but wait,so go to Massive Supplements dot com
and use my code Prepper fifteen.Get fifteen percent off. But it doesn't
matter because you're gonna get the fullrefund anyways. But it just helps me

(21:45):
out. So that's what we're doingstarting in October, because I usually do
the Sober October thing anyways, sowe're going to do that plus the Massive
Meltdown Challenge. So I'm asking youguys to join. Let's do this together,
Let's hold each other accountable. Andthat's it, all right, you
guys, thanks for checking out theshow, and I will see you in

(22:07):
the next one.
