I’m really excited about the new weekly format for this podcast! These episodes will be a mix of new & old, solo & interview segments. Everything will be tied together with a show intro that includes a weekly mindset for you to focus on.
This week’s mindset is to pace yourself. Rather you’re focusing on balancing your life, working on a single goal or building something bigger than yourself, pace is key. Your pursuits are lifelong and not burning out should be the goal underneath everything you’re working on.
Pacing yourself leads into starting something new. Rita of ritalynn.ca joins me to discuss her approach to do just that. I’ve added Almost Daily Podcast (ADP) episode 590 to give some extra context to getting started and reshaping your view of failure.
Next you’ll hear my Cerebral Palsy story (ADP episode 125). CP is part of my life but doesn’t define it. It will give you a clearer picture of why I do all of the things that I do.
If you are looking to build something bigger than yourself, document your journey or share an idea there’s a good chance you’re going to want to use social media for it. I give my POV on content - what’s working best from both a content creator and marketer’s perspective.
Next is my review of the book “There's A Hole In My Love Cup” by Sven Erlandson. This is one of my favorite books for working on the relationship you have with yourself. The journal prompts in the book jump started my journaling habit. The music playlists he gives in the book are pretty amazing too.
The final topic for this week is becoming a non dieter. I believe this is the ultimate goal of anyone trying to lose weight…they just may not know it yet. Two ADP episodes “566 & 567” go into detail on how to adopt this mindset, while also discussing the differences between this approach and the anti-diet / stop diet culture movement.

Cardiac Cowboys
The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
