Thank you. Welcome to the Delvin Cox

(01:16):
Experience, a podcast which eachweek I'm on a one man mission to
you, not a coach to diversity. I'm your host, Delvin Cox, and
we are in 2025 folks. And I want to start 2025 off in
a good way, in a positive way, because frankly speaking, 2024
for me sucked. So I felt like, you know what,

(01:39):
let me go into this year with some positivity, with some
energy, with some Highness, withsome happiness.
So I thought to myself, who elseto have on the show then?
The beautiful, The talented, thelegendary Crystal Storm.

(02:00):
What's up Delvin, I am ready to help you ring in this new year
with all of those adjectives. Let's let's fucking go.
Let's go. Let's go, Let's do it.
For those who don't know Crystal, that you shouldn't know
her. She's creative, telling,
forgotten she had like the good news Show, she Crystal's
imaginations, Star Wars Legacy, Vampire beginnings, so many
shows don't look, the list goes on and on.

(02:23):
So we're going to have a fun conversation, but as always,
let's start the podcast off at the five for five.
So excited. Questions 5 Has to get the
baller crystal, you ready? I am so ready.
I didn't even like Delvin invited me on the podcast and we
didn't even talk about the topic.
He was just like, do you want tobe on the show?
I said sure. So I'm just like, excited.
God. Damn right, it's how we roll.

(02:43):
Let's go. Question of war Crystal.
Keeping it positive, keeping it happy, keeping it fun loving.
Let's go. New Year's just passed.
Yes, people make resolutions they don't plan on keeping.
Yeah. That's the thing.
That's real. That's real, yeah.
So we're going to do something fun.
We're each one of us is going togive one resolution that we have

(03:05):
to keep. Oh, we have to keep it.
OK, OK, OK. All right, So my New Year's
resolution that I have to keep then.
Then this is the year that I getmy guns.
OK, this is the what's the muscles?
I want the muscles, yes. She already has some muscles

(03:27):
already so. I'm working on it.
I'm working. Yeah.
I'm not playing around. And I do.
And I want this like for me too, because there's a lot of fun.
Like I want to learn how to likereally light Saber fight.
And I'm also really into like sword fighting.
Like I settled down in a picture.
I've got like so many swords in my office and I actually want to
learn how to use them because it's just something that I've
always had an interest in. But you need you need arm

(03:48):
muscles to hold a sword, so. That's going to make Hannah very
happy. Yes, yes, it's awesome.
I'm like the sword fighter and she's the Archer.
Like she really does know how touse a bow.
Yeah. Dope, yeah.
Yeah, it's fucking great. I like it all right, mines will
be do less. I love this for you.

(04:11):
Yes. So you're actually going to
start saying no to things? Yes.
I'm so proud of you right now. Yes, I think I need to fall back
some so I don't burn myself out.Yes.
And I think it's time for me to do less and to take time to kind
of enjoy myself. I am so proud of you, Devin Cox.

(04:32):
I love this for you. Yes, let's.
Go. So maybe I can actually finish
it more than one game in a year.Right.
Yeah, that'd be great too. Yeah, I would like you to finish
more video games. Dragons of the Age is kind of
eyed. Valgard, yeah.
I've heard your review. Did you want to?
Yes, so I heard it's kind of high, can't say to it.
You know what if? If?

(04:53):
If you just want a video game toplay, play it.
If you want a Dragon Age video game, your mileage may vary.
OK, there you go. There you go.
I liked outlaws, so never. Know, yeah.
I liked Outlaws a lot. Start with that law.
That was a fun game. Yeah, I mean, listen, Valgard is
a fun game. Is it a fun Dragon Age game?
That depends on what your expectation is from a Dragon Age

(05:16):
game. Did I ever tell my story about
Inquisition? No, Tell me your Inquisition
story. I I, I feel like I tell this
story all the time but fuck it, it needs to be heard.
Absolutely it does. It's 2025.
Let's go story time. I was heavily in the
Inquisition. I played 80 hours of
Inquisition. OK.
My save crashed. No, the cloud did not back it

(05:40):
up. No.
I was so pissed off. I said fuck this shit.
I'm never playing this game. I.
Never went back. I never went back.
Valeguard is. I think Valeguard might make you
miss Inquisition. Like I feel like you've got to
go back and play it like you've got to.
Yeah, this is the year. I was having a lot of fun with
Inquisition and I was like making a lot of leeway and I was

(06:03):
enjoying my story. Yes, yes.
That's the whole thing about those games you got.
You build up your story with that character and you fall in
love with your character so much.
So when that was taken away fromme, I'm like, fuck this, I'm not
doing this again. No.
I no, I completely I would I would have felt the same way I.
Would have, absolutely. When I say furious, I was.

(06:23):
That is one of the most angriestI've ever been about a video
game. That was right Gloria.
Throw the controller and everything so mad.
Like no, that's fair. No, that's really fair all.
Right question #2 Crystal. OK, let's talk about James Gunn

(06:44):
for a second. James Gunn.
OK Are we talking about James Gunn?
All right, Yeah. OK.
OK. He's done Guardians.
He's. Done.
Yes. People like guardians.
Yes. He's done Suicide Squad.
Yes. People like that Suicide Squad
movie. His Suicide Squad, yes, I heard
people like the other. One is terrible.
Yeah, 100% yeah. That one will make Hannah rage

(07:06):
the way that I rage. Like she'll become an extrovert
so fast. Yes, Peacemaker.
I love Peacemaker. Didn't a lot of people love
Peacemaker? I thought that was pretty.
Well received. Very, very well received.
Yes. OK, now the Superman trailer
comes out. People who are not Snyder fans
like it a lot. Fucking Snyder fans.

(07:27):
They hate everything that's not Zack Snyder, which is a.
Whole weird. It's such a weird little cult,
but yeah, go ahead. So my question if there's one
character out of something that you love that you would like
James Gunn to direct, what wouldit be?

(07:48):
OK, here. Here's the thing.
I'm not a huge fan of James Gunn.
Oh, really? Really.
Yeah. And it's not.
So I watch Guardians of the Galaxy, and I liked it, don't
get me wrong, but it's just not my favorite.
Right. I didn't see the new Suicide
Squad. I didn't have a whole lot of
entrance interest in Peacemaker.I did see the new Superman

(08:10):
trailer. It looks good, but I'm kind of
like it's with Superman and Batman.
I'm kind of of the mindset of how many times do we need to be
telling these particular superheroes stories?
Like fucking why? Like, I know DC Comics has 1000.
Like especially like the new Superman.
You look just like Henry Cavill. You might as well have just got

(08:30):
Henry Cavill because for a second there I thought, like,
damn, is that Henry? No, but you know, it's whatever.
So because like, I'm kind of ambivalent about James Gunn.
Who would I give him? See, because my thing is this.
Yeah, My thing is this. I'm not I I like James Gunn that
one of my favorite directors, but I look at James Gunn and

(08:52):
think of certain things I think he would do really good at.
Get a good example. I think you give James Gunn a
Han Solo, Orlando Calrissian movie.
I think it would be awesome. Like it would be really, really
good. Yes, once that you know what,
once I I'm just going to jump onthat train, Delvin that you're
trained there and 100% I think that would be actually excellent

(09:14):
because he's got I think he's got really good like comedic
timing. I think he shoots superhero
movies really well because like the Guardians of the Galaxy,
like that was, I think I feel like it just worked along the
lines with all the other great Marvel movies that were coming
out during that phase. So he's talented.
He's just like, not my cup of tea.
But yes, I think a Han Solo Lando movie, I think he'd knock

(09:36):
that out of the park. Yes, and on the flip side, for
Snyder fans, I think if Zack Snyder got an Invincible movie,
he would do really good with it.I think so.
I think I, I don't, I don't understand what this Zack Snyder
cult is like. I like Zack Snyder as a

(09:56):
filmmaker. I do too.
You know, I think, I think he's a little like some of his stuff
is a little, some of his choicesare a little weird from like a,
a feminist lens. You're just like, what the fuck?
But other than that, I think like he's a good director.
I'm actually shocked that he never just did a Ben Affleck
Batman movie because I feel likethat is so up his alley.

(10:17):
I agree. I don't know why that never
happened so, but I think yeah. I think he's a very good to
great director. He's very stylish.
I don't I think most like Michael Bay movies.
His movies are very shallow. Yes.
Absolutely. It works for what you want.
It's a good it's a popcorn movie.
It really is, yeah. He's this is cool, pretty.

(10:37):
I like it because it's pretty cool.
He's not bringing a lot of depth, but he is bringing some
fun. Yes, I think that's what makes,
that's what makes him great. And sometimes that's OK.
Exactly. Yeah, you need those types of
movies too. Yes, absolutely.
We'll see. We'll see with this new
Superman. Yeah, hopefully it's good.
I'm rooting. For it, I do hope.
You know what, for everybody wholoves Superman, I hope it's

(10:58):
good. I do.
Yes, twit, let's go. OK, question number three, OK,
what was your favorite movie of 2024?
The answer? What else to that your favorite
and your sleeper movie of 2024. Oh, you think that?
I think that's like underrated, OK.
Yeah. So give me one of them that's

(11:19):
your favorite and one that's a sleeper.
Hands down favorite movie of 2024.
Wicked Knocked. It out of.
The park. Oh my fuck, you're going to cry.
Wicked is so good. It is so good.
It is perfectly cast. It is.
I have never felt AI have never watched a movie that made me so

(11:44):
honored to be in the creative space.
Let me just put that like I walked out of Wicked just
feeling so fucking honored and humbled and like, are you, you
just felt like you had a religious experience almost
coming out of that because it was just everything you could
have asked for and more. When you talk about create,
creative collaboration and the magic of movies and

(12:07):
storytelling, like Wicked just embodied the hell out of it.
And I know I, I, I, I didn't know that Cynthia was slightly
problematic, I think in the in the black community.
I did not know that because I don't be paying no attention to
movie stars, y'all. I just don't give a fuck.
That's fine. Yeah, whatever.
It is what it is. But I will say about her Defying
Gravity, I love that song. It's like my theme song.

(12:29):
I'm a huge fan of Indiana Menzel, but there is something
about the way that Cynthia hits that note in Defying Gravity
that actually made it a war cry and not a melody.
Like Indina Menzel is incredible.
Like nobody should ever trip about Indina Menzel ever.
But the way Cynthia sings it youthere is just something

(12:51):
different about that note to thepoint now I still I I can't
listen to it in the car anymore without crying.
Like I literally just start crying.
So wicked incredible. Delvin, you're going to love it.
My sleeper is Abigail. More people need to fucking
watch Abigail. Abigail is so good.
Yeah, Abigail. Especially if, like you're a fan

(13:13):
of like Ready or not or just horror comedy.
Abigail is. I feel like it flew under the
radar because of all that drama.Y'all go watch Abigail.
It's so fucking fun. It's great.
I like Abigail a lot. Only thing I did not like was
the ending. Oh, really?
Yes, because I wanted Abigail tobe Abigail and I don't want to

(13:33):
speak, but the like no, don't, don't, don't team up with
people. No, just.
I got you. Just murder, yeah.
Yes, be be who you are. That's fair.
That's I feel like that's, that's fair.
That's a fair critique. That's a fair critique.
But I liked it a lot. Yeah, it's a fun movie.
It's really fun. MY2 My favorite movie of last
year 2024 was Transformers 1. Let's go.
It was an incredible movie. It was if Pixar made a

(13:57):
Transformers movie. Yes.
And it's really, it's really endearing.
It's really touching watching the story of these two friends
who love and care about each other.
And one goes down the path of goodness and becomes greater,
and one goes down the dark side and becomes greater.
And it's just such an interesting way to look at the

(14:20):
friendship of Optimus Prime and Megatron from the beginning,
where they our best of friends till the point where it shifts.
And one of my favorite moments of the year in a movie theater
for me was like, spoilers. There's a scene where he finally

(14:44):
becomes Megatron and he does something to Optimus.
And the whole theater gasped. Oh.
Even though they knew it was coming, they knew it was coming.
They knew the turn was coming, but it was still.
But you follow these friends through this whole movie like an

(15:06):
hour and a half. So when it happened, it was
still so shocking. It was like, I don't want this
to happen. Right.
And so it pulls at your heartstrings.
You're like, damn. And it's like you.
And then you kind of realize he's not coming back, even
though Transformers fans no, no,Megatron is right.

(15:28):
Right, Right. You know how this story ends,
Like, yeah, But you still. I understand.
That's good storytelling. Very good storytelling.
Yeah. That's incredible.
OK. And my sleeper, surprisingly
piece by piece. I didn't know this movie I.
Haven't even heard of this movie.
What is this movie? Piece by Piece is a documentary

(15:48):
on Pharrell from the Neptunes, but it's in Lego form.
What the fuck? I'm writing this down.
I'm writing it down OK. And it is a beautiful,
interesting movie. It's fascinating because you you
go into the mind of this creatorfor real.
And he starts off the movie telling you about how he sees
music as colors and how he's howhe spends so much in the music,

(16:13):
how much music has changed his life and how he's always like
been in the music. And how other people see music
one way and he sees it as whole other completely unique way as
he narrating the story. You see this in the world of LED
Legos and it paste this beautiful portrait of how how
this man finds music and how people with his life inspired
him and how he's inspired othersand how you don't.

(16:33):
I didn't realize how many peopleknew each other in Virginia in
terms of the music scene that came up to get like Missy,
Timberland, Pharrell, we all knew each other.
Pusha T. Oh shit, OK, they.
All knew what you're like. Went to school together.
Went to talent school together. I did not know that.
I didn't know that. So when you start watching this
stuff, like damn, they have a lot of talented people and you

(16:56):
just start watching this story of how he like became who he is
and why he makes music. And him finding his, losing his
love for music, finding it back, making his soul like happy and
realizing how much that soul means to so many people across
the world. It's really, really great.

(17:17):
It's a really inspiring story. Also, there's a hilarious scene
in this movie that I've showed my son about 50 times where they
there's a scene where Pusha T istalking and in the scene, Pusha
T is selling Lego crap crack to people.

(17:38):
This is a actual scene in the movie.
Sentences I never thought I hearLego crack.
That's OK, Lego crack to. People when Pharrell calls him
to go to go get this beat from him.
That is incredible. It's great, great movie.
OK, I'll have to check that out.I'll have to check that out.
I am not surprised though because I know that you love

(17:59):
music so much. So I hope you getting back into
music as part of your 2025 glow up too that.
Is that is very much is very much so take your time to make
some music because I love music.Yeah.
All right, question #4 Crystal, what is ATV Show, movie, or any

(18:24):
form of entertainment that for that matter, that you use to
watch, to wind down, to relax, to woo saw, to clear your mind
off? Mine's just cartoons.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I mean, nowadays it's like
TikTok. I feel like we're all too much
on freaking TikTok. But one of my is it's like it's

(18:48):
so random and I don't know why it relaxes me.
There's the what is it called? I think it's called Battle for
LA. It's just yes, yes, and for
whatever reason, I just really like this movie and it just
relaxes me. I don't know why 'cause this is
not like a chill movie. It's literally a movie where
they're running around fighting aliens, right?

(19:11):
And it's like not even like the best aliens, but I just for
whatever reason, it's it's definitely one of those movies
that I could put on and my brainis just like it's I get.
It. I get it.
I have movies like that and I don't think they're necessarily
good, but I enjoy them a lot. Like the Street Fighter movie,
it's not good, but I watch it all the goddamn time.

(19:32):
It's so. Really is that is that you're
kind of just chill movie? I love that for you.
Because it's so good. Why you Julie in that movie is
fantastic. That is true.
You know what they committed andI will give them that.
Everybody was all in on that nonsense, so good for them.
Van Damme playing an American, an American soldier named Guile.

(19:54):
It's just hilarious. Chefskins.
They don't make them like that anymore.
Chefskins. Exactly.
All right question #5 Crystal. This could be a fun one.
OK, they've all been fun. See, that's why I love you love
it. You get to take a dead TV show
or franchise and you can create a movie from it.

(20:18):
What franchise that's dead, that's no longer around that
you're going to make a movie from it and what it's going to
be about? Does it have to be a dead
franchise? Yes, shit, I know 'cause we
already know the answer is a live franchise.

(20:38):
It's got to be a dead, you know what, if it's a, you know, I got
to grab Firefly. Then if it's a dead franchise,
then I got to, I got to go get Firefly and I got to bring that
back and take it out of Joss Whedon's fake feminist clutches.
And, and I think we have to do areally respectful kind of

(21:00):
passing of the torch almost, because a lot of the main
characters are a little bit older now, right?
But I think we keep the spirit of Firefly.
We bring back 20 episodes. We bring back filler episodes,
right? We bring black the glory days of
TV. And I think that's, that's what
we do. And you just have a lot of fun
with it. You just we bring back the
spirit of Firefly. I don't know who we're casting
yet. But it does feel like Firefly as

(21:23):
a show that should have come back by now.
Absolutely. And it's so we should have.
I don't get it so good. Like Firefly is like
quintessential. Like I, I really feel like there
was like this golden era of TV, right, where we had like West
Wing, we Star Trek was on, Fringe was on, Alias was on, we

(21:47):
had Firefly, right? We had, we had all this great
shit and then I don't know why it just stopped fucking
streaming, I guess. But then we just kind of lost
it, you know? So I and I feel like there was
always there's, there's, there'sjust bring the Firefly Black
back, but bring it back the right way, you know?
That's a good one. That's a good one.

(22:10):
Like I say, it's so weird. I think I'm thinking about it
now like they're bringing back alot of shows.
Like I found it the other day. I used to love the show Dexter.
Yes, love Dexter. I watched what I thought was the
final season of Dexter that cameout last year.
Yeah, apparently they brought Dexter back again.
Yeah, so apparently there's likeDexter New blood, and now

(22:32):
there's like Dexter Original sinthat Sarah Michelle Gellar is
in. It's like his origin story
around the world. And there's another one.
Oh wait, there's four that has more.
I think it's like 3 Jesus, like it was the last season of
Dexter, you know, original sin. And then there's one where he
comes back. Spoilers for Dexter the last

(22:55):
episode. He gets shot by his son.
Apparently he lives. Oh shit.
And they're making another show based off of that.
So that was Dexter. Then there was Dexter came back
and but got shot. And then there was Dexter origin
story. And now there's about to be, but
Dexter's back again. Yes.

(23:18):
You know what? Fuck it, let's go and.
I'm like Dexter has had four reboots and five fly.
Can't get fucking one like 1. That's I don't understand that
at all. I don't know if it's like a
rights thing or I don't know I would.
That's I mean Dexter's fun, don't get me wrong, but I don't
like I mean it. It it even makes like less sense

(23:40):
too because listen, I love evil, but evil is a ridiculous show
Like it is nonsensical. It loses the whole main plot so
off. Like I'm literally just watching
that show cause Luke Cage is fine as fuck and it's funny.
Like it's literally, yeah. It's just a fun lol kind of TV
show, right? And then they leaned into it and

(24:01):
I'm shocked in this climate thatthey keep making evil episodes.
I love it, but it just, it's still going, which is great.
But like Firefly is like quintessential TV.
Give it back, give it. I want it back.
You know what, I really appreciate that Paramount Plus
is like, fuck it, we are going to make these shows.

(24:23):
And whether you're watching it or not, it's going to still keep
going until it fucking ends. Not like Netflix.
Netflix is like, oh, it's cancelled?
Right, right. I don't even fuck with Netflix
shows no more because I know I'mgoing to get invested in the
season and then they're just going to cancel it so I don't
even watch. It anymore plus it's like Nah we
riding this bitch out till the end.
I love this for them, I really do.
I love it. 20 seasons of CSI, we're going to spin that off and

(24:49):
the spin off is going to get 20 seasons whether you are watching
it or not. Yes, I have like 40 different
spin offs. Criminal Minds have like 30
different spin offs like. Listen, I watched the last, the
latest season of Criminal Minds, thinking I was going to have
more Criminal Minds to watch after that.
And then I ran out and I got mad.
I'm like, I hate it when I get caught up.

(25:10):
That's some bullshit. And.
They're like, oh, don't worry, we got more coming.
Yeah, and I hear this, but so I'm like, that's fine.
That's fine. What like.
Who keep making these shows? Who are watching all these
shows? I don't know.
That's why like some of the streaming decisions don't make
any sense because if Paramount Plus is doing it, they got to be
in the same boat as everybody else.
So either their model is the only successful 1.

(25:33):
I don't know, like I would love to see these numbers.
I would love to. I I would too, because it's so
fascinating to me how Paramount Plus keeps making shows.
Yeah, they have like 3 or 4 different SpongeBob shows.
Like why do you have 3 or 4? Good, good, good, good.
You know what? Let them.
Let them love that. I do.

(25:56):
I do. Give me all that nonsense.
Give it. Give.
It back, yes, so so crystal. Yes.
As you know, because my friend Ilove you, 2024 sucked for me.
Yeah. 2025 probably going to be a lot better, probably going to
be a lot better for everybody else.

(26:20):
We're here. Yeah.
To have fun and to talk about the positive things in 2025.
OK. The Tails network.
Yes. You're working on some things,
yes, A lot of things, yes. Tell me about some of these
things. I'm.
Excited. Yeah.
So here that was like, tell me about some things.

(26:42):
And so we're we're doing things a little bit differently this
year at Tails because 2025 for Tails is, I don't want to call
it boring, but it's going to be a big grow up year for us.
Yeah. And what I yes, it absolutely
is. It absolutely is because Devin

(27:02):
and I think you could attest to this, that when you're a
creative and you're kind of in it, like you forget how hard
you've worked, you forget how much stuff you've already done
because you tackle one thing andthere's the next thing, you
know, you tackle one thing and there's the next thing.
There's always another thing. So when we got ready to do our
kind of prophecy of the tales, which is our cool end of the
year recap, and I was looking ateverything we've done, I was

(27:23):
just like what the how the fuck?Did we do any of?
This because 20/24/2020, I feel like just since COVID or damn,
since they murdered that fuckinggorilla, everything has just
been wrong. So but we at Tails, what we want
to do in 2025 is I really want us to get healthier in how we do

(27:47):
things. And that means that I'm going to
move in silence a little bit more.
It means that we're going to acta little bit more like CD
Project Red where we tell you, yes, there are shows coming out
and that's it. I think I gave this analogy to
like the fans. I was like, we are cooking.
You cannot come into the kitchen, but it smells fucking
delicious. And yeah, I get, I can't, I just

(28:08):
get so excited about stuff and Iget so just energized about
story and I want to talk to people about it.
I want to tell everybody what's going on in my brain.
And then I think sometimes we set expectations that we don't
meet. And then I don't want to let
people down, you know, 'cause we've, we've done that a couple
of times and it wasn't nothing. What about it was malicious?

(28:29):
It's just like 2024 was a motherfucker.
Shit happened. So that's kind of one of the
reasons why I want to move in silence a little bit more.
So you probably saw on Discord we're going to be utilizing kind
of our council a little bit morethis year and figuring out what
all that means. So then when I have, you know,
my 2:00 AM crazy ideas, I'm going to go to you guys instead

(28:49):
of, you know, making a fucking whole tweet about it.
You know, I'm going to say, hey, what if we, you know, what if we
do this and that? So that's, that's there.
We're going to spend a lot more time marketing the shows that we
do have because I don't want to rely on these algorithms anymore
to feed our content out because they're not reaching the people
they were intended for. If you if I look at legacies,
demographics, no woman ever has like Star Wars.

(29:12):
Yes, that's correct. Which is right, The women just
don't like Star Wars. Sorry that that which is
incorrect. It just doesn't.
So it's just not like I feel like if you love the Acolyte,
you should be listening to legacy, right?
So we're going to, you know, take control of our marketing.
I also wanted to take control this year of on where our

(29:32):
podcasts are being served out to, meaning that we skew heavily
towards Spotify. I think there's only one show
that's listened to a lot on Apple.
I want to see a lot more diversity in the platforms that
our shows are being listened to because I don't want my eggs all
in one basket because I don't trust these big corporations
anymore because a lot of them showed they ads in 2024 and I

(29:53):
don't trust them not to show MOAthey ads in 2025, you know, and
like our our kind of morals and you know, our values at tails
are really solid. So as Spotify pisses me off one
day, I want to be able to be like, well, we don't fuck with
you no more and not that take a hit, you know, so go ahead.
So we got to figure that out. You know something you said

(30:18):
there, I think it's very interesting.
I think it makes a lot of sense. You'd make so much great
content, but you don't give it time to breathe.
Yes. And to promote that content.
Yes. 'Cause you have great shows that
should be doing better than theyare. 100.

(30:40):
Percent. Am I saying they're not doing
good? I'm just saying that more people
should be talking, talking aboutthese shows that you're making.
Like don't look, for example, incredible show.
Oh my. God, don't look so good.
It's so good. It's so.
Good. More people should be on talking
about these shows. And I think that's the thing
about social media that a lot oftimes it's like almost like kind

(31:03):
of this popcorn feeling. You get that one flash and then
people forget about that flash. But no, sometimes you got to let
it sit. You got to let it breathe.
Kind of like, like you got to let the content breathe and
enjoy it. And I think a lot of your
content needs more time for people to breathe and enjoy it
and appreciate what it is. I think Legacy got that because
Legacy is a longer series. Yes, yes.

(31:28):
So. I mean, legacy still carrying
the network on its back, to be honest.
Like it's, yeah, you know, it's still is.
Because it's the longest series with the established franchise
and the good thing about Legacy is when you want episode 4,
there were people just starting episode 1.
Yes. When you want episode 10, right,
there were people just starting episode 1, right?

(31:49):
And it kind of just, and it kindof just keeps feeding itself
that way. And the thing about shows like
that you're doing now are there's shorter experiences that
are just as good. Right.
But when you get to Episode 4, somebody's on Episode 1, but
they're also going to be finishing Episode 4 really
quick. Yeah.
And yeah, yeah, yeah. And the thing about it is it's

(32:10):
up to us because I I can send myself a fan to promote it to
other people. Yes, yes.
And and and that's great, but weneed more of it and we need to
get these shows that are great and more into the lexicon of
things. And I think that's one of the
things about podcasting. Podcasting is a ever rotating

(32:33):
ever feeding system where peoplehave to constantly feed the
system to stay relevant almost. And it it's not like music like
music, you know, when you have agreat artist, good else can make
an album once a year and you cango away and you don't see that
artist for two or three years and people are like, OK, we
missed them podcasting. You go away for two or three
years. People like I we done found 1000

(32:54):
other shows that do the same thing.
God damn thing you do. We don't need you no more.
Like you know, I think that kindof happened with Serial.
Right. But see, here's the thing about
that. See, and here's the good thing
about fiction podcasts, because I'm not tied to a trending
topic, not ever, you know what I'm saying?
Like So with us, it's always like, do you like horror?

(33:16):
We're always going to be there. You in the mood for a little,
you know, Bridgeton, like we there, you want a little Star
Wars, we there you want a littleaction, romance, vampires and
spaceship. Like we there.
You need something wholesome like we there.
So it really goes back to what you said in letting these shows
breathe. I've just got to slow down and
that's really what we're going to do a lot more of is just

(33:39):
slowing it all down and we're going to focus on finishing
vampires, which I fucking love. And it I I'm glad it had the
time to breathe that it did because it gave me a lot of
ideas for how we're going to endit.
But now we're going to finish itand then it's not that we're
going to be quiet, but as far asshows goes, it's just a lot of

(34:01):
background movement that we're doing and we're figuring out how
to put these shows in front of people so they can enjoy them.
And I think Legacy is like our doorway, right?
So Legacy, I want to be utilizing legacy as kind of the
pathway that leads people to allthese other shows because it's
literally right now carrying thenetwork on its back.
And then once I get that demographic level a lot more

(34:22):
even and we find the females ladies who also love Star Wars,
that's that's a wrap. Like that's, that's a wrap, you
know, So I just want to make sure that we're ready for that.
So that yeah, we're just it's I'm calling our glow up year and
I'm just really excited about ittoo, because we're just going to
just take everything we've builtand now just, you know, just
here find it. Here it is.

(34:44):
Here it is. I love particularly with vampire
Beginnings, how you have been creating this and doing the
after shows and then hearing feedback and comments and be
like, maybe I should pivot a little bit.

(35:04):
Yeah. It's really cool that you're in
real time because you don't get this without like when you're
writing a book. When you write a book, you write
a book. Put your content out there.
People can love it and hate it. It is what it is.
Exactly 100%. Because you're making this show
in real time, you get to hear the feedback and not, it's not
saying it's negative feedback atall.

(35:24):
It's just people's perspectives and point of views of how they
see the story. And then you start and sometimes
you've said this to me before and you think you said doing one
of the last thing. I didn't see it from that
perspective. Yeah, yes.
So it makes you pivot a little bit to adjust to that.
I think that's a really dope wayto kind of tell stories we don't

(35:47):
really get in any other media. Right.
And, and it's awesome that you said that too, because now we
got to find that balance, right?Because what I, what I really
learned in 2023 and 2024 is thatfor Pixel and I, because we're a
two woman team doing this, that making shows while we're
releasing them doesn't really work for us.

(36:09):
That's leading to a lot of ADHD hyperfocus burnout, hyperfocus
burnout, hyperfocus burnout. So it's not a really healthy way
to make shows and we're not giving them the lead up time
that they need. So I can get more people in
these live shows. So people know that we're doing
them. So people just know that the
fucking show is there, right? So what we want to do this year
is finish it, then we take it tothe board, we take it to our

(36:31):
membership, right? And we're like, boom, here it
is. We can figure out some, I don't
know, it's a beta reader, but you know, get you guys's
feelings on it. And then we go week by week.
And now I still have plenty of time to pivot because shit's
done. So at this point, if I got to do
reshoots, it's not a huge deal, right?
If somebody says something cool in the live show, I'm like, oh
shit, you know, like we can, we can do that so much easier now

(36:55):
if some shit happens with me in Pixel, right?
The whole network's production schedule isn't going to get
thrown off whack. You know, if I'm just having a
bad mental health pay and I can't do shit, I can honor that,
you know, because the shit's done.
So we're going to try to move more in that way this year.
And I'm actually really excited about that too, because it'll
give you guys more time to sit with shows as well.

(37:17):
Me and JV and Alex and you, we can have really fun
conversations about, all right, how do we market this?
Here's the show, it's done, Listen to it now what do we do?
How do we make this fun? You know, and I'm really excited
to be able to have those conversations with you guys.
I agree. That's gonna be dope.
Well, let me say this before we move on Pixel.
I don't think I don't notice this.
Your butt is coming on this show.

(37:37):
They're talking about these content you've been trying to
how and dump you little introvert ass you get.
Her on here. To talk on the podcast.
On this show pixel on the Cox pixel.
We definitely have a pixel on here.
I can't wait. I can't wait.
No, she is. She's going to have a great time

(37:59):
on your show. I can't wait.
And people are going to love getting to hear my other half
because she's like this. She tries.
To hide she's super creative, she's super intelligent, super
talented and she just tries to hide No no no no you can't keep
hiding that way I. Love it, I love it, I love it.
Hope you hear this, woman. Oh no, I'm a tell her as soon as

(38:20):
we get off this, I'm a go tell her.
But it's so dope that you guys have put in so much work and
created all these amazing forms of content.
I think, you know, and they're very different.
Like even we're talking about the good news show that you were
doing. It's such a creative way to do a

(38:43):
show and to bring positivity into the world that we need more
of. And it's it's a lane that we
don't touch on all the time. And.
It's really cool that you were doing that and you're still
going to be doing that show. Never letting it go, never.
It really is just about buildingup the team and honestly the
funds to do it. And that's one of the reasons
why we wanted to focus on marketing so much, because when

(39:03):
I like ran first the fuck of allI'm just put it in the universe.
We gonna knock Joe Rogan out of the number one spot like we God
tails network stuff. Good news shows we get rid of
this motherfucker. But anyway, I was looking at
just ways that podcast can be successful as far as like
advertising goes. And while the numbers are high,
they're not unreachable, right? And when you look at, you know,

(39:25):
how our contact is, our content is stacking up against some of
these incredible other audio dramas like Old Gods of
Appalachia or The White Vault are things that come out on the
Rusty Quill network, which is incredible, right?
All these like we're there, likewe, we are, we are at that level
of storytelling. So we can, we can do this too.
And that's just going to be great for us because then we've

(39:47):
got an incredible group of voiceactors.
You know them, we've got our roster ready, you know, so once
we start having budgets that match kind of the stuff that we
want to do, like that's a wrap, then I'm doing the good news
show, you know, then I'm, you know, we've got some help behind
the scenes so we can do all the kind of creative marketing that
we want to do. Then I'm paying our voice actors

(40:08):
what they are. Worth what They should be
getting paid. And I'm just really excited
about that. Like I'm just so like, yeah,
let's do it. Yeah, yeah, I think it's dope.
And I see, I look at these things, I look at these creative
voice actors and these kind of these label, these podcast
labels and I, I have a dream Crystal.
OK. I look at what Ray's doing, Yes,

(40:31):
look what Matthews doing. Look what you're doing.
Yes. I'm like, why can't we combine
this in the under one big umbrella of three different
companies working together in unison to make a dream and a
vision happen? We have almost had that
conversation. There is a Twitter group with
I'm in it, Matt's in it, Gerald Hill, who is incredible, who

(40:54):
also has his own company that heruns with his wife.
It's about audio drama and he's got his own stuff.
The only person we don't have inthere yet is Ray.
So we're going to try to get Ray.
We need to get Ray in there. But I agree with you like I'm
100 like there is that is absolutely something that I want
us to to really think about it. Yes, absolutely.
It makes sense. You have all these groups of, I

(41:17):
know all these groups of talented people, whether it's
Ray, whether it's Matthew, whether it's James for for that
matter. Yeah.
All doing these things and it feels like at some point we all
have to combine our talents together to make something
special. 100% agree. And kind of just put that in the
universe like, you know, couple what was it a couple weeks ago

(41:39):
James was talking about that going who went doing like live
shows again? And my first thought was that's
that that would be great. But imagine if you could do a
live show and you can have on people from legacy, like having
to cast a legacy on there, talking, hosting a a battle or
something like that. Imagine if you can bring a

(42:01):
Matthew Dawson on there to hold a judge a battle or to just have
a conversation at a live show ata Comic Con or something like
that. These are things that we have
the talented people to do and tobring up and to kind of like
highlight. Yes, listen, I've been praying
that who would win show eventually just starts doing
like twitch live streams. I've I've I've been I've been

(42:25):
telling James and Ray dad forever, literally forever.
So eventually, eventually, they'll listen to me because I'm
very smart. Yes, they know that.
And they they should listen to me.
They called me the smartest first on the Internet.
They should. And as as long as you said it
too, then they should absolutelylisten to you.
Yes. Judge of the year.

(42:46):
Like, come on. Yeah.
Of course they should. Absolutely.
I know one day, one day. So Crystal, since we're going to
be closing up soon, but I want to ask you something. 2025.
Yeah, looks rough from the outside, but I'm going to task

(43:08):
you with something that may be difficult by what you tried.
OK. Give me 5 things that's going to
be positive about 2025. So I I will say that this is,
and I put this in the tails discord kind of after everything

(43:31):
went down. And I want to say that this
quote has and continues to stickwith me.
And it's literally the quote from the old guard.
And I'm going to paraphrase it alittle bit, but the gist of it
is that this changes nothing. We walk out of here like always
together. And I really want that to be the

(43:54):
motto for, and I hope it is the motto for a lot of people in in
2025. And five things that I think are
going to be incredible. I think we're going to see a lot
more community building and I freaking love that because I
feel like there is literally this want for that.
And I think this is going to be about people figuring out how to

(44:16):
do that and what that looks likefor them.
And I think that's going to be really beautiful and special.
And I want to remind people thatthere are already groups out
there that you probably have notheard of, but are reachable on
the Internet that you can, you can reach out to and start with
don't, don't reinvent the wheel.But I think the community
building coming out of this is going to be incredible.

(44:37):
I think AI is fucking trash. And I, I, and I know the harm
that it's causing. However, I think from that harm
is going to spur a lot of peopleinto kind of the opposite of
that and doing the right thing. So I would I had the privilege

(44:59):
of being at Southwest by West last year, which is like this
really huge techie conference. Basically it's like S by it's
like SXSW and I actually was a volunteer there.
So I got to go to a couple of different panels and and such
and I worked, I volunteered for a really incredible company, but

(45:21):
that's hold up your story. But anyway, I went to this one
panel and it was the head of Patreon and the head of this
head of this other company and I'm seed AII think it was.
But anyway, they were literally working together, having a
discussion about how do we take this genie that has been removed
from a box? How do we use it ethically?
What does it look like? What does that look like?

(45:42):
And they are already having conversations.
These conversations are already being had.
So even though it, you know, if you go to mainstream media,
you're not seeing it. I want people to know that
behind the scenes people are talking about how do we
compensate artists, authors, people whose works are being
used to train this data? How do we do this so we are not

(46:04):
wrecking the environment. So I think from the the
corporate nonsense of AI, peopleare going to find ways to use
this technology in ways that arebeautiful and in ways that are
actually going to help us. I genuinely do believe that #3 I

(46:25):
think that this 2025 is really going to give rise to Indies.
And I am very excited about thatbecause I feel like we are all
done with these big corporation shit.
And I think that's being seen ina lot of different ways, a lot
of different ways that we're just, we're just fucking done
like we are. We're just, we're just, we're

(46:46):
over it. You know, like you, you've been
showing your ass and you can only push people so far.
So I think that's going to give rise to people like us, people
like Matt, people like Ray, incredible other creators that I
work with. I think especially because like
AI is so fake and heartless right now, right?
Because of the way it's being, you know, used, it's going to

(47:08):
make people gravitate towards that thing.
We all want that connection, that humanity.
And I am very excited for how that's going to look.
And I think more people are going to support indie
companies. I think indie companies are
going to start being seen more, being recognized more, being
supported more. I think that's fucking
incredible. I can't, I can't wait for that.

(47:30):
I feel like we really, we reallydon't rise up.
You mean with five things. This is hard #4 #4 I think
people are going to start havinga lot more fun in 2025, like
just talking to you and your plans for 2025.
And, and that really resonates with conversations that Hannah

(47:51):
and I actually have had about how we're approaching this year
and just how we're doing things at Tails.
I think people are moving towards being healthier, more
holistic and just putting themselves and their families
1st. And I think that's a good thing.
I think we're not about that grind anymore.
I think hustle culture is about to die and I'm all for that.

(48:13):
I'm like, RIP, go the fuck away.Like we don't, we don't want it
no more. That's four.
That's four. Devil said 5.
I just, you know what? I'm I don't think it's going to
be all right. I'm just I, I really like it's,

(48:34):
I think I, it's going to be all right.
I think that there are some interesting things afoot.
It's January 2nd. I think that things are not
going to quite unfold the way people think it is.
And I think it's going to be allright.
I think it's going to be all right.
Again, this is not to say it's not going to be hard.
There's not going to be, you know, some messiness as systems

(48:57):
that we know suck die, but. I think, I think, I think it's
going to be all right, Y'all, I think it's going to be all
right. I like it.
That's what I'm putting out for 2025.
I like it. That is fantastic.
That's great there. We go, I did my 5.
Great job, Crystal. I'll be on the spot with that
one. That was like, be positive as
fuck. I'm like, well, here we go.

(49:21):
So Crystal, let them know where to find you at.
Yeah, definitely. You can learn all about me
personally, my projects. I'm definitely going to do a lot
more podcasting this year. I love being on the mic and just
talking about shit that I love. So we're going to figure out
what that looks like. So go to chrissimagination.com.
Just learn more about me. You can hire me as a voice
actor. You can hire me as a voice
director, You can hire me as a podcast host because I love

(49:43):
doing podcasting. So that's great.
You check out all our projects there.
Go to talesoftheforgotten.com for all of the fiction audio
dramas that you could possibly want.
We'd love word of mouth marketing right now.
So please go and check out our shows.
I guarantee you we have a show for you.
So please go and and check them out and also you.
Can become a sponsor. Yes, yes you can.

(50:05):
Yes, you can. Yes, you can.
You love fucking support in Indies.
We have a space on that website for you to do that.
Yeah. And Devin, thank you as always
for letting me, for letting me come on the and being your first
guest for 2025. I'm going to keep the bar high
so we can just keep this going throughout the year.
Let's let's do it. Let's keep it high.
We're going to do it. Well, that's a whole not that

(50:27):
high, but we can but. I mean, I'm going to have a
gummy after this. I don't know.
I'm going to get I'm, I got wine, I got gummies.
I'm ready bro. We can, but you know.
Right, right, right, right, right.
But. Yeah Crystal, you're amazing
coach y'all tells people supportthe shows if you love the shows

(50:47):
a lot. Hey, sponsor your show.
That's for. A show let's.
Do it. Surprisingly, surprisingly, it's
not. It's not as expensive me to
think it is. Legacy has a whole bunch of
downloads like, you know, might be one might want to get in
right now while you can. I'll just say that.
Just saying. Yeah.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. So would love to bring on some

(51:11):
more creative investors to help us so we can tell all the
stories that we want to tell because, yeah, I mean, listen,
it might be in three months fromnow.
I'm like, well, we ain't got no more room because we had like a
whole bunch of sponsors. So yeah, get in now.
Get in there. Get on the ground floor.
That's right. That's right.
That's it. Grow with us.
It's exciting. Yeah.
I like it. All right.

(51:31):
Thank you guys for listening. As always Delvin Cox experience,
we are out. Peace.
Bye.
