(00:59):
Welcome to the Delvin Cox Experience, the podcast which
each week I'm on a one man mission to United coach the
diversity. I'm your host, Delvin Cox.
In this episode I have a specialguest creator.
Very talented lady. Let them know who you are, man.
Hi, I'm Megan from Vigilante Vibes podcast.

(01:22):
Great to have you on Megan. I love your stuff that you've
done. I was we'll talk about when we
get full into the podcast, but Iwas watching your, your little,
I don't call it reviews, but youlittle kind of like recaps on
the the Thunderbolts. I I think it's a really cool
thing you're doing because you know, it's kind of like for

(01:42):
those who don't know who the Thunderbolts are, it kind of
introduces them to that world. And not only that you do the
comic book version, but you alsodo the movie version.
So I think it's really cool. It's really cool prep for people
to watch before they go see the Thunderbolts movie, which comes
out this week. Yes, I I do it because before I
really dived into the comics, that's what I would have wanted
to see. I would have wanted someone to

(02:02):
break it down so I could feel like I did go into the movie
knowing more than the MCU has showed me.
Because let's be honest, when you go in knowing more than
everyone else, you're kind of like, look at me, I am so smart.
So I always just hope someone learned something.
I agree it was dope. Great job as always.
Like to start the podcast off atthe five for five, five

(02:24):
questions, 5 asks to get the ball roller.
Megan, Are you ready? Yes.
Question number one, if all the serial mascots got in one big
brawl, who do you think's winning?
If all the I'm sorry the what mascots?
Serial mascots like Captain. Oh oh gosh, Tony, the Tigers
taking them all out easily. Yeah, that makes sense.

(02:46):
Yeah. Probably on steroids, yeah.
Yeah, pound for pound, I think he's got it.
Well, I appreciate that my Alexaimmediately went off and tell
him what the steroids are now. Well.
Try anything's possible all. Right question #2 I don't know

(03:09):
if you've seen this, but it's been trending on Twitter lately,
so I got to ask you the question. 100 men versus one
gorilla. Who do you think is going to
win? I I think the gorilla.

(03:30):
That is the. Correct, because it doesn't.
I don't. It doesn't say what kind of men.
It doesn't say like how big, howhard.
Not a bunch of Tony the Tigers, no.
No, it's just not a bunch of Tony the Tigers.
It's a bunch of fat lazy. Men.
Or really, really tiny men. Yeah, they're, they're getting
destroyed by that gorilla. There's no, there's no doubt in
my mind they are getting. I don't care if I'm there, I'm

(03:53):
leaving. Oh, I'm out.
Yeah, exactly. It's going to be 99 minutes.
I guess I'm one gorilla. I will not be there.
Good luck to him. Exactly.
Question #3 Give me your top five comic book movies.
Oh oh, Oh my God, it's like picking my favorite child, which

(04:17):
I do sometimes. Do I?
Do too. Probably Infinity war, Captain
America, Civil War, Batman versus Superman.
Oh my God Spider man, No way home, The first Avengers.

(04:41):
Is that 5? That's 5.
OK, well there you. Go.
Those are all good choices too. I like them.
Thanks. Thank you.
Very diverse. It depends on the day honestly.
Yeah, comic book moves are great.
They are, and it's like my love language.
Like it, It's dope. Question #4 Who is your favorite

(05:05):
newish comic book character? Oh, a new 1A.
Newish one. I say newish because you know
new could be 1015 years at this point will come books.
True newish one. I would say Spider Gwen.
That's a. Great answer.
Yeah, it it. She's dope.

(05:26):
She's awesome newish. Like she goes in hand in hand
with Miles Morales. So they're kind of, but she just
she just sings to my soul. Probably her and oh man all of
them I know are like from 60s and 70s and then you're like
were they Did they just show reappear?
I'm overthinking it. I'm just going to say Spider
Gwen. Spider Gwen's a great answer,

(05:47):
thank you. And she's newish.
Yeah, she's cool. She's really cool.
My daughter loves spider Gwen. We call her Ghosty in our house.
I like it. I don't know if you have any
small kids in your house, right?I have two.
Oh, you do? So this is perfect.
How old? Small. 5:00 and 2:00.

(06:09):
That is perfect. OK.
Because I asked this because I have a small kid in my house and
they love the spider. The spider man is amazing
friends cartoon show that comes on Disney.
I think it's Disney Junior and they watch it all the time

(06:30):
you're going. To they're going to love when
it's Iron Man and his amazing friends.
Kids show coming. Oh yeah, that is coming.
Yeah, I'm so excited because I've seen everyone of Spidey and
his amazing friends. Yeah, I have too crazy to think
about the crazy thing about I'vebeen watching like Spider Man in

(06:50):
television since I was a kid. So I guess the 80s, like I
remember him like being in the like the electric company TV
show. Really.
Oh my. Gosh, wow.
They had like a little segment where they would show like a 5
minute skit of spider man just fighting crime.

(07:11):
That's so cool. Yeah, it was like a real thing
like this is. I think that might have been my
first memory of like Why is Spider Man on TVI?
Think Spider Man was the same for me.
First one that and X-Men the animated series.
Great show. Excellent show.
OK, question #5 I'm going to ask.
Give me the top five superheroesthen.

(07:34):
The top five just oh gosh, I gottoo cocky there.
Spider Man, Spider, Gwen, Daredevil, Moon, Night and
Nightcrawler. Those are great answers.
Thank you. I like them St. level
superheroes. I love the street level
superheroes. We need more of them.
I agree, I like like the street level superheroes.

(07:56):
Did you? Did you watch?
Did I ever board again? Did I watch daredevil boarding?
I almost got a Daredevil tattoo a couple weeks ago.
Oh. It was just so it was so good.
Me and my friend were at Galaxy con and they sometimes have
tattoos there. Don't do it there because they
said a minimum you'll pay is $150.00 per tattoo which is

(08:17):
crazy. Oh, that's a.
Lot it is. And I just wanted the helmet
just like the outline of the helmet.
And I was like, I'm not, I'm notdoing that.
That's ridiculous. That is a cool tattoo.
Yeah, isn't it though? Like it's just so cool.
Could have, should have happened.
It will happen, but. Not for that price.
No, not for that price. I had a friend who got a tattoo,

(08:39):
or he can get it. He still has it.
He had a tattoo of Batman and Robin, but it's like a Damian
Wayne, Robin and Bruce Wayne. Batman, of course, but it's him
and his son as Damian and Bruce Wayne that's.
So cute. That's so cute, I love that.
Yeah, that's awesome. That's so.

(09:02):
I love when parents mix their nerdiness with their children.
It's perfect. Yeah, so, so tell everybody a
little bit about yourself for those who don't know.
So I I'm a massive Marvel fan and As for as long as I can
remember like first memories were me in a spider man costume.
It's just lifelong thing. So I put it to a podcast and the

(09:27):
fandom that's pretty scary in itself, which it really
shouldn't be. It's the whole thing is it's
about acceptance and being different and using your
differences for the better good. But there's sexism, racism,
homophobia so blatantly throughout it.
So my podcast, my channel, everything I put out, it is to
promote positivity and inclusionand acceptance.

(09:51):
You'll never hear me call something woke.
It's not even using the word correctly.
So it's like, why? And you'll never see anything of
ignorance there because I want apositive safe space where people
know that they can watch a videoand they won't get pissed off
because I said something ignorant.
And it's nice to see that there are other podcasts who are doing

(10:12):
the exact same thing. So it's like, it's nice to see a
big positive presence in the fandoms happening before our
very eyes. And that is how I found you,
honestly speaking, because I wascruising the Internet Twitter
and I saw you like, wow, she's really positive.
Yeah, I saw. I I I'm trying to think of a

(10:32):
video while I saw. So what of your?
You said it was it was Captain America.
And why he deserves to be Captain America.
Yes, that was the one. And I was like in a, in a time
where, and you know, I'm a big Captain America fan, both of
them, Sam Wilson and Steve Rogers.
And at a time when you see so many people giving such negative

(10:53):
feedback about that movie, whichI, I, I liked a lot.
I did too. I thought it was fun.
Yes. Yeah.
It's really positive. It's really good and cool to see
somebody take it for what it is and enjoy it and say, hey, This
is why this movie's fun. This is why this movie's great
and be super positive about it. Like, you know what, I want to

(11:13):
talk to this person because sometimes you need a little bit
more positivity in your life, especially in 2025.
Lord knows we need it. Run and tell that yes.
So what what what got you in thecontent creation in general?
Also, your background's awesome.Oh, thanks.
It's actually just fabric. I'm in my daughter's room right
now. We're in a small house.

(11:35):
Thanks, I have a pretty big Facebook group on Facebook
called the Nerd Haven where it'scompletely non-toxic nerd
culture group and I wanted to it's it's it's my group but we
all run it as an admin team together.
But I wanted something for myself so I did.

(11:56):
Used to have a partner in this podcasting thing but he turned
out to be toxic so he's gone. So it's all mine now, but I just
had so much to say and I, you know, being nerdy, being into
superheroes and comics as a young girl, that wasn't the
move. That was not what people wanted
to hear. And you found no one who agreed

(12:16):
with you. So I put out stuff and I make
stuff that I would have wanted to see as like 1112 year old
Megan I spoil. Spoilers Megan Bing Nerdy and 11
count books as a young black manwasn't the thing at one point in
time like that. I'm sure.
I think we all have very different levels to what we had

(12:38):
to deal with being in being suchnerds.
And you tack on so many things that the levels just keep going.
Like, I was a female nerd who like superheroes.
And I was like, yeah, you know, you're pretty alone in that.
But then there's, you know, do you have the black tag?
You had the gay tag. It just keeps going and it's
like, how did we survive? Yeah.

(12:59):
What did we, how did we do that?Yeah, it's it's, I'm happy that
we live in a time now that comicbooks are so mainstream.
It's just the thing now. It's like how people look at the
cowboy movies and things like that and sports.
Like it's just comic movies. It wasn't like that back in the
day. People were like, no.
No, and now we're actually getting really good Movies Now

(13:21):
'cause if you'll remember, there's like Green Lantern,
Howard the Duck. Times have changed for the
better for nerds. Yeah, movies are better than
ever now. Even the bad ones are pretty
good. I even the ones that people are
saying, oh it's a flop, it's mid, it's whatever, it still
would have kicked all of our asses at that time.

(13:41):
Yes, I agree. I think people, I think we've
got to the point where we're toospoiled and privileged to
realize how good we really have with comic book movies.
Like, I remember growing up, youmay have got a comic book movie
like once every four or five years, if that, and then it it
then you had to wonder if it wasgoing to be good or not.
And if it wasn't great, you're like, well, I guess that was it.

(14:03):
That was the movie. And now we get them like every
2-3 years at at minimum, at mostevery 2-3 years.
And they're usually pretty decent.
Yeah, they're least enjoyable. Yeah, I mean, back then you're
like, oh, I just saw Fantastic Four.
That was actually really good. And then bam, you got hit with
Ghost Rider 2 and you're like, Idon't know how I feel right now.

(14:25):
You don't know. You don't know who to trust.
Yeah, my one of my favorite things in the past few years
was, I don't know if you just watched Ages of Shield.
Yeah. I used to love that show and
they had a season where they brought Ghost Rider in.
Yeah. And I loved it as a kid.
I loved Ghost Rider. Like I grew up like Danny Klex's

(14:46):
Ghost Rider and stuff like that. That was like, you know, that
was my thing. So seeing like watching Ages of
Shield and watching that character come to life, like,
wow, it looks better than the one in the 90s.
This is rad. I just thought it was like
really cool. I was like super hype.
Well, because it looked better than the one that we saw in the
90s movie. I'm like, this is pretty cool.

(15:08):
Look how far we've gotten. I'll be honest, that's the only
reason I watched the show. Like the characters are cool,
but it was just so boring after you get from like you come from
comic books, you come from like The Avengers MCU, you come from
DC and then you get to Agent Shield and you're like, man,
this kind of feels like paperwork in comparison to
everything else. And then then they said, oh,

(15:31):
Ghost Rider's coming. And I was like, now I gotta
watch it. And I had to it's it was, I love
the guy that played him. I want him to come back.
Yeah, Gabriel Loner, he was really.
Yeah. I was surprised how well that
worked out, and I hope they do more with them, especially since
they brought back Daredevil and they bring him back.
Looks like they're bringing backthe Defenders.
I like him. You can bring back Ghost Rider

(15:53):
and go back. I have such little hope in it
because Kevin Feige does not want to talk about Agents of
SHIELD. He is so mad he was not involved
in making it. It's a great show.
It's a great, it's a great show.It if it wasn't my thing, but I
can appreciate as what they did with it, all the stories that
went into it and how well it tied with all of the outside

(16:14):
material without tying itself toit.
Yes, it was a good way to it reminded me of a lot of shows I
used to watch like in the 90s. What it what it what is a
serialization of it and stuff like that.
It remember like shows like Firefly and stuff like that.
It is it's really cool showing. I think I like what they did
with it and how they kind of built their own universe and

(16:36):
went there when they need to go there.
Like they were characters that didn't make it through the show.
And then they brought in characters that you knew you
would never see in an MCU movie. So it was cool, like, oh, this
character's on ages of shield death lock.
Like, like they fucking death lock in in the MCU.
But I'm like, oh, this is cool. And we can see the ages of
shield. You know, I, I really like that.
Yeah, and they Marvel does a really good job at kind of

(16:59):
gaslighting you a little bit because at D23 last year they
had a whole set up for Agents ofSHIELD.
Like they had the blacked out cars, they had everything.
So everyone, including myself, was like, this is it, this is it
today, this is our year. Nothing.
It was just there. I think they'll make you do some
way to the shield. They have to, I would think.

(17:21):
I would like to see if they I would personally think it'd be
cool to bring a coast and cameo into like Avengers Doomsday or
something like that. I do like that I was hoping for
a thunderbolts because I feel like him and Val would work
would work really well together.Like they just hate each other.

(17:43):
I know that would be really cool.
Yeah. So are you excited for
Thunderbolts? I am so excited.
I love all the characters on theThunderbolts.
I've loved the Thunderbolts comics.
I like the new stuff they're coming out with too, like
Thunderbolts Doom Strike. It plays into the One World
Under Doom event right now, and it it's probably the best thing

(18:03):
to come out of One World Under Doom to be honest with you.
OK, I need to check that out then.
Yeah, you don't have to know much about what's going on, You
can just dive right in. OK, that's perfect.
No, I want to check that out. One world Doom.
Thunderbolts. OK, nevermind.
So since you brought up Doom, are you excited for his soon to

(18:24):
be portrayal by Robert Downey Junior?
I have a theory, it's my theories always suck, they never
come true. So don't put much hope in this
at all. But I feel like we're not going
to see Doom. He's going to be a Doom bot.
Oh, that would be interesting. Yeah, because why would they
bring in Doom before Secret Wars?
Because we all think that there's going to be a soft
reboot. Why?

(18:45):
And Robert Downey Junior's not hanging around to stay as Doom.
There's no way. Yeah, apparently for to what I
understood this is I could be wrong, like spoilers.
I don't know what things they haven't come out yet.
They said that Robert Downey Junior's Doom is a variant of

(19:05):
Iron Man. It would make sense.
They're very, very tied in the comics.
Infamous Iron Man, they both have a lot to do with each other
in that comic run. It makes sense.
I think that's the biggest rumorthat's going around.
It's nothing's confirmed from it, but that's what everyone is.
We're assuming because it has tobe a variant.
There's no way. And especially considering how

(19:29):
you're bringing in all these other characters like the X-Men
to a different multiverse then the Fantastic Four, who they've
said is for different multiverse, it kind of you kind
of have to blend together and make it work.
And I think that's the probably the best way to do it.
Yeah, I think they should bring King in too just because King

(19:49):
and Doom are so interconnected in the comics.
What better way? What?
OK what I want, I want them to 1st show Doom by having him in
the middle of that stadium that was at the end of Ant Man and
Quantum Mania, the Council of Kings.
Killing all of them because whatbetter way to do that than

(20:10):
showing he's a bigger threat that than Kang then showing him
killing Kang. I would like if they closed that
storyline up, even if they don'twant to jump to majors anymore,
I think it'll be cool to just end that storyline.
You don't, you don't probably pretty much don't have to have
him do the role. You just kind of just get a body

(20:30):
double or something like that. And there's ways to do it where
you can just end that Kang storyline instead of just let me
just sit out there. It was.
It makes me think there's something in Jonathan Major's
contract that says that only he can play King because King is
the one character you can recastand nothing will happen.
Like there's so many iterations of King.

(20:51):
So it makes me think there has to be something in their
contract that's not allowing them to use the character.
Yeah, I'll, I'll probably think so.
I got I I think considering whatthe route we're going with the
with Marvel in general, like in the multiverse, this would be
the perfect time to recast them.Yeah, it it makes sense.
We all understand. It's fine, Pete.

(21:12):
Like, you know, Jonathan Majors ended up admitting to
everything. Yeah, very problematic person.
Yeah, and then there's all theseother complaints about and we
get it, we won't be mad, It's fine.
Just finish the King's storylinebecause I don't like Doom being
a backup plan. Because Doom isn't a backup
plan. I agree.
You have to build to him. And to be clear, this isn't the

(21:36):
first time they've recast somebody.
Yeah, they recast Roadie. I I love Terrence Howard as
Roadie. I I like Don Cheadle, but I
don't I don't think he hits the same.
Yeah, they they, they literally recast to Rhodie and to a whole
different black person. Doesn't look nothing like him,

(21:58):
right? So I guess it's OK, we can
recast that and it's OK, Not a. Bit like, we won't say anything.
I mean, there's a whole different Hulk now.
You know we're OK. No one's upset.
We're old enough to understand what happened.
We're we're adults now. It's OK like, and plus like,
maybe, maybe they should figure out what they're doing with

(22:18):
Rhodie as well because where's Armor Wars?
Yeah, I I was asking my son about that other day, he says.
It's coming. I think Ironhart was the next
one. Ironheart is in June.
June. Yes.
So in a month we should have a trailer?
I wasn't height for Ironheart until I watched that what if

(22:39):
episode. The first one, no.
Was it was the 3rd or 4th one that was solely based around her
and her? Yeah, yeah.
I not a big iron. No, I'm not a big what if fan.
So I just like breezed through that show just so I can review
it and I was like, OK, it's fine.

(23:01):
For the all the flaws what if had, that episode was
phenomenal. I will.
Yeah. There were a few in that one
that were like, OK, yeah, I I dig this a lot.
I think that I remember reviewing it and saying finally
RiRi gets the credit she deserves because she has just
been trashed on since Wakanda Forever.

(23:23):
I agree. And I think I think that
whatever episode kind of put a different light on her character
and did a good job establishing,OK, this is who RiRi Williams
is. She has the heart, she has the
spirit. She's going to fight.
Doesn't give up. I'm like, OK, this makes sense.
This is cool. This is the good way of
establishing this character and I want to see more with it.

(23:43):
So. And it's, it's really been super
disappointing that, you know, Daredevil Born Again was coming
and we got stuff every couple ofweeks for months before the show
premiered. But with Iron Heart, we haven't
gotten anything. We have not gotten a trailer of
poster, nothing. But there, one of Marvel's free

(24:06):
Comic Book day comics is RiRi Williams.
So yeah. So it's like, OK, so you're
trying somewhere, but you're still, what are we doing?
She's she's a great character. Her comics are fun.
She she's also a big part of theinfamous Iron Man story with
Doom and Iron Man right storyline.
Yeah, she's a fantastic character.

(24:29):
And Dominic Thorne, she is a great actress.
Pushing it off this long and given an absolutely no hype is
only hurting the people who worked on the show.
I agree, I think this show is going to be good.
I think it should have been connected to armor Wars.
I hope they do connect to armor wars.
That makes the most sense. I don't think Armor Wars is

(24:50):
coming. I do not think so, 'cause even
Don Cheadle has, he's talked about it and you can see that
there's some upset there too, 'cause he's like, I don't know
what they're doing either. Yeah, it's been a, it's been a
interesting ride, this MCU, you know, it's Phase.

(25:11):
Yeah, 'cause there was that hugerevamping Kevin Feige did after
that had to do with Daredevil Born again.
I saw Vincent d'onfreo a few weeks ago and he said it was him
and Charlie Cox that were the ones that complained to Marvel
Studios about what was going on with Daredevil.
They said, look, the fans won't like it, we don't like it, you
have to come see what they're doing.

(25:33):
So Kevin went, looked at everything they filmed and he's
like, OK, no. So he fired the entire creative
team, even fired new Vanessa andbrought back everyone else, got
new creative teams. And after that, he revamped
everything. Everything was rescheduled,
everything was changed, and it worked out for the better that
we've seen so far. But before that is the issue,

(25:55):
because I think he was giving way too much creative freedom to
the directors, directors that have no idea about the source
material, which like comic accuracy isn't like a big deal
when it comes to the Marvel Studios 'cause they're not super
based on the comics. There's Lucy.
Yeah, so, but you have ones likethe director of Thor, Thor, who

(26:15):
said I don't know anything aboutthe source material.
So I just had fun with it and it's like, OK, but you ruined
like 3 movies worth of characterarc there.
And I think Kevin, after the daredevil thing, just started
getting back involved, seeing how everything is playing out in
the grand scheme of things, and I think we're on a good track

(26:36):
now. Yeah, I think so.
I think I think you're right. I think it it becomes a problem
when you don't get people who care about the source material.
And I think it it shows when youwatch the movie, like, oh, this
doesn't feel right. You know, Marvel at its best
when it was like batting 1000. They had like, you know, the
Russo brothers, they had Ryan Coogler, They had like some

(26:57):
people who even talking about TDwho kind of put stuff their own
spin on things and made it work out for what they want it to be.
And it was just kind of it kind of all gelt together.
I want Ryan Coogler to go for a Blade movie because they don't
even have a script for a Blade movie.
Apparently my son was telling methe other day because we went to

(27:19):
go see Sinners and he was like, you know, this was supposed to
be a Blade movie, right? I'm like what?
No, wait, what? No.
Yeah, he said. Originally the script was
written for Blade. Marvel turned it down.
Where is does your son work for Marvel?
My son is very tuned into these type of things.

(27:39):
I see that. That's awesome.
He was like, yeah, that was supposed to originally be a a
Blade movie. I'm not discounting anything he
says because I don't know. But like, if it was and they
still don't have a script for Blade, then Ryan Coogler.
If that's the case, then he needs to stay away from it
because they said no the first time and I'm petty.

(28:01):
If you say no the first time, you're not going to get it.
Yes. Yeah, I agree.
I don't understand how how they dropped the ball on that to say
the least. It feels like they're waiting
for Mahersha Alita kind of just leave.
I feel like they don't actually want him to be Blade because

(28:24):
that's what it feels like it. It doesn't make any sense.
Yeah, it doesn't make any sense. You keep saying it's pushed
indefinitely. It's either not happening or
happening, and you don't have a script, you don't have a
director, you don't have anything.
You just have the main actor. It's like, why don't you just
scrap the whole thing? Yeah, at at some point you got

(28:46):
to kind of just just kind of just scrap the whole thing of
thought all over and kind of just make your own thing.
And I think Marvel has the rightidea with getting people of
color to do those type of movies.
And I don't understand why if you have Ryan Kupler working

(29:06):
there because he's he's doing the Black Panther movies, the
Super popular why not just made Hey, you should take Blade do 2
of them. It makes the most sense.
It's at some point, like Ryan Coogler has proven himself time
and time again and what's crazy is that he is just getting
started. Like you see all the success

(29:28):
he's had in such a small time frame, which, you know, 10 years
with Black Panther movie and allthat, but it's like that's still
a small, small time frame to have that much success.
Someone described him to me as the modern day Spike Lee.
That's a good one, I could see that.
Yeah. And I, I kind of agree.

(29:48):
When you look at the the trajectory, you look at
Fruitvale Station to Black Panther and to Centers, it's
like, wow, yeah. Yeah.
These very impactful, powerful movies that kind of resonate
with kind of all audiences. I think Spike Lee had that, too
with his movies. You know, they connect with
everybody. I know that is they're generally

(30:09):
Speaking of a black story, but Iknow everybody likes to do the
right thing. No, it's just a certain movie
that you you know that. OK, this is Spike Lee movie.
I know I'm going to like this movie.
He's that good of a director. And there's some people who just
transcend race and colour. I think Spike Lee is one of
them. I agree with that, yeah, Spike

(30:30):
Lee, I'm a big fan of his. I don't think I've ever seen a
movie I didn't like by him, I think.
Tarantino has a little bit of that, too.
Except the feet thing. Tarantino on his feet is just,
yeah, you kind of look at him a little sideways.
Yeah, but I know people who I don't think would would
necessarily like Tarantino as a person, but love his movies.

(30:51):
They like, they like Django, they like Pulp Fiction.
It's just like, it's just a a comic thing.
I think there's certain directors that transcend
culture. I like how you said that
transcend culture. I like that.
Yeah, so I know you're excited for the Thunderbolts.
I am very much so. I know you've been watching all

(31:14):
the things that's been going on.Have you been watching?
What kind of TV shows you've watched?
Watching The Last of Us. Yeah, I watched last week's
episode last night, the one withJoel.
OK, what have you been thinking of?
What have you been thinking of the show so far?
Because I've played the game. I don't know if you're a game or
not. I'm, I'm not, I tried.
If it's not Mario, I'm not involved.

(31:36):
I, I don't care. I don't have the attention span
for that. I'm super interested in your
thoughts because I'm a gamer as well.
Unless gamers knew that was coming.
Yeah. And I know that when it
initially happened in gaming, itwas super controversial.
Hey I so I have a weird thing. I love spoilers with every fiber

(32:02):
of my being. I love them.
So when the last season came out, I asked one of my friends
like, what happens? What Why do you keep looking at
me with these sad eyes? What's going to happen in this
next season? And they told me.
And I was like, well, you can't win them all.
And I think I would be a lot more sad if Pedro Pascal wasn't
in almost everything this year. So I think I'd be a lot more

(32:25):
upset if that wasn't the situation.
But I like how they did it. It was.
I don't know why they did it so early in the season, especially
when a Season 3 is confirmed. What are you going to do next
season? OK, spoilers, spoilers, spoilers
for everybody who hasn't watchedThe Last of Us or played the
game. So cover yours right now we're

(32:45):
going to get a little bit into it.
Spoilers, spoilers, spoilers spoilers spoilers.
OK, here we go Spoilers for Lastof Us season 2.
Joe dies 2nd episode. Yeah.
In the game that happens around the same time.
So it happens early in the game and the the whole purpose of it
is it becomes, not spoiling anything about that too much,

(33:06):
but it becomes, it goes from a story about I guess family love
or redemption to a revenge story.
Oh, I like it. So now you're now you're
following this story of Ellie going down the path of vengeance
and what that cost her. And that's what the story is

(33:28):
now. And I think not spoiling
anything now we're about out of spoilers, by the way, but not
spoiling anything. But as you go down this path of
vengeance, as you watch this character Abby and this
character Ellie, you're going tosee the toll of going down this
path has on both of them. And I think that's where the

(33:50):
story lies at with this this season.
And that's where it gets interesting, seeing how this
passive vengeance effects both of them and how visit in general
if you don't get a hold of him, if somebody doesn't say stop,
you have to stop this, how it truly can affect one's life.

(34:12):
But yeah, 'cause it's like, whatdoes Abby have now?
Yeah. Yeah.
What are your thoughts on Abby as a character in the show?
I think they need to flesh her out more.
I'm going to be super interestedto see what happens with that
character because in the game that takes account of a journey.

(34:35):
OK. And when you see the the
direction you see that characterfrom the beginning of the game
to the end is vastly different, and I'm interested to see how
the show handles that part. OK, I do wish they would have
given us more time getting to know Abby before she achieved
her like 5 year goal because we only got barely 2 episodes with

(34:56):
her. And it was like, OK, I mean I
don't think it was very impactful because it was only
the second episode. So I feel like if they would
have waited till like third or fourth, I think it would have
meant a lot more. But also like I like the actress
they have for Abby because I've seen the pictures from the
games. I'm like, Oh yeah, they do look
like somewhat, but it's like shehas such a sweet, delicate face.

(35:19):
Like she's so nice looking. I'm like, I'm not intimidated by
you. Like even if you had these huge
muscles. You.
Just look so sweet. I think that is a, a, a problem,
I think, but I don't think they overcome it.
But in the game, that's why I think this is very different
from the game. Abby's a very imposing figure.

(35:40):
She's a threat because she's like literally large.
Yeah, she, she's not a small woman.
She's a very fit, athletic woman'cause she's, she's military
special OPS and stuff like that, you know?
She's like welterweight, UFC style.
Yeah, so when you see her in thegame, you're like, OK, this
person's a threat. So the thing that she does in
the game makes sense because she's literally larger than that

(36:03):
most people in the room. Yeah.
So I'm wondering how they're going to portray that in the
show because she. Yeah.
Because she doesn't have that same size and grit to her.
So a lot of the things that happened in the game, I don't
think you can play those same things the same as you played in

(36:24):
the game in the show because it's literally not much of A
size difference between these two characters.
So it makes it a little bit different.
So I'm really interested to see how they play playoff each other
when it comes to that part. I am excited to see that as
well. I do want to know more about her
character. Like you said, I want to see her
fleshed out more because I thinkshe can be, she can be such a

(36:47):
character of such a depth and I want to see that.
I don't want to see her one way one episode and complete
opposite the next episode. It's like Ellie.
Ellie annoyed the piss out of meat the beginning but now it's
like she we've seen her grow andgrow and somewhat get more
annoying but we know why and we see what she's been through,
especially with Joel. I I will say this about the last

(37:10):
night's episode, I guess Episode2, right?
They did that was yeah, that wasepisode 3, right?
Yeah. They did a fantastic job of
portraying how a person had trauma and when they go through
a traumatic experience there, there's a beginning scene where
Ellie wakes up in the hospital and and we live in the moments

(37:32):
of what happened. Hell, like, wow, that's kind of
powerful. Like, you know, there's certain
things that people go through and that's why you have
counseling folks because they gothrough these things.
They keep reliving those momentsout because it's literally
traumatizing them. And I think they did it.
Show did a really good job of kind of expressing that and

(37:53):
showing that side of things. Oh, I'm excited to watch it
then. Usually I don't, I never have
time. So last night was like, oh, it's
last of last night. I guess I should watch last
night's episode. So I'm excited to see this one
now. I love seeing characters deal
with trauma. Yeah, it's, it's done very well,
I think. Oh, it's good to know.

(38:14):
I'm excited. Great.
So let me ask you this. What movies are you excited for
this year? Oh, besides Thunderbolts,
Fantastic Four. But I think my most anticipated
movie is Superman. Thanks for.
Kind of getting there. Yeah, that looks phenomenal.

(38:37):
It I like the Snyder verse for what it was.
It just feels like a bunch of variants to me at this point.
But yeah, but with this one, it actually feels like Superman.
Like you feel the feeling of hope, you feel exactly how you
should when in the presence of Superman.
And the actors, the characters look phenomenal.

(38:57):
I think James Gunn's really going to nail it.
Yeah and I think I I want to seeDC get a win.
Me too. I know people are like anti
Marvel or anti DT but I think they both can both exist and we
both can love both and. Yes, there's room for
everything. I don't understand why it has to
be either or. Yeah, I, I would like to see DC
make a movie that people can just universally love and

(39:18):
praise, and I think Superman haspotential to be that.
I agree, plus with all the characters in it, there's so
many deep cuts in there that comic fans can love just casual
watchers can keep up with and still love.
There's so much going into it and I've never like teared up at
a trailer before, but when they dropped that first one I caught

(39:39):
myself tearing up and I was like, what is going on right
now? I've never felt emotionally
connected like that. I I love what they've done with
the sofa. I love that they're bringing in
crypto to Super Dog. I know I would kill for crypto.
I love that they're just kind ofleaning into the silliness of
Superman. Yes, it feels, it just feels

(40:00):
like everything is out of a Superman comic.
This is what it goes back to thedirector knowing the source
material and respecting the source material, because that's
what he's doing. Yeah, and also speaking, I think
DC should have did this a while ago.
I I like the grounded stuff theydo sometime, like with Batman
and things like that. But it's OK to get magical and

(40:22):
mythical and just bring us into another world.
It's it's comic books. Comic books supposed to be fun.
Yeah, comic books are weird. They're supposed to be.
I like the weirdness. Yeah, I do too.
So bring in all the weird stuff like bring in swap thing, bring
in everything you could possiblybring in Mr. Terrific.
Yeah, make them all meet the creature commandos at some

(40:44):
point. Like, I don't care.
Make it weird. Yeah, that's that's what makes
it all fun and interesting. See one of the most popular
Marvel movies, Artist of the Galaxy.
Yeah. Because it was weird and unique.
Yeah. A talking raccoon.
It's like a gun. Well, it's like Across the
Spider verse. Spider Man of course is always

(41:06):
going to sell. But that movie was weird.
It was straight out of a comic book weird.
People who don't read comic books looked at it and was like,
no, but then they watched it. It was phenomenal.
So it's like, at some point you have to kind of accept like,
none of this is real. It's OK if it gets weird.
If it gets just out there, outlandish, otherworldly, it's

(41:28):
fine. It's cool.
Yeah, I agree. It's cool to just sit back and
enjoy comic books, enjoy what they bring.
It's OK. Yeah.
Yeah, I agree. My my final question for you, my
final question, shall I say whatyou're reading?
What books are you reading rightnow?

(41:49):
Oh so many. So I review comics for
nerdinitiative.com. So yeah, I review.
Monday and Tuesday are the days I have to read all the new ones.
But Marvel is late today and they haven't delivered them so I
am screwed tomorrow. But really, anything.

(42:10):
One world under Doom. I just finished the new Teenage
Mutant Ninja Turtles, the last run and two re Evolution run
today. That was really great.
A huge name. I hate the name, but it was a
great run. That's fine.
But on my downtime, I'm reading a lot of Fantastic Four comics

(42:33):
'cause I like the Fantastic Four, but I've never been wowed
by their comics that it's alwaysbeen like, oh, they're all
right. Yeah.
So I'm trying to like get that hype going and reading House of
M with a bunch of other people that are reading it at the same
time. Oh, that's cool.
Yeah, it's very exciting. Yeah, I'm reading.

(42:53):
I don't know if you saw this. I want to say last year they
came out of compendium of the GIJoe books.
Yes, I did see that, yeah. I got it.
Oh, did you? I got it, yeah.
And I'm reading through that, which is really cool, taunting
because it's a lot of comic books in it, but it's really
cool. I'm reading that.

(43:14):
I'm reading the, I'm reading Invincible.
I got that's. When I want to dive into, I want
to get into that real bad. Yeah, I've been, I've been
watching the show and when I start watching the show up for
my birthday, someone got me a compendium of it.
So you know what, let me just watch the the whole read the
books as well. So I'm reading that and it's

(43:36):
something else. I'm reading Last Ronan.
I'm reading, of course. Oh, the last Ronan?
Yeah. Are you liking it?
Yeah, it's great. Yeah, it's good.
I like the new turtles. It's different and they're very
sweet. They're very young.
Yeah, I like what they're doing with the universe and stuff like
that. I hope, because I don't know if

(43:56):
you knew this, they're making the last running video game.
Movie, OH. They're making a movie and a
video game. Yeah, it's going to be the last
running movie and I'm like. Yeah.
Because I loved what led up to The Last Ronin with
Michelangelo. So it's like, oh, that's going
to be so dark and gritty and sadand I'm so happy.
Yeah, so they're they're making a last one in movie, last one in

(44:19):
video game. So I'm excited for both of those
things. Hopefully they come out soon.
I hope so, and I hope Kevin Eastman and Tom Waltz are
involved with the movie because they they have to be.
Kevin Eastman is the Ninja Turtle guy.
Yeah, I I definitely hope that he's involved with it.
Did you watch any of the old Ninja Turtle movies?
I've seen, I've seen a few, I'm much more of a comic fan of

(44:42):
theirs than the movies just cause the movies are so so
vastly different and my kids have like no interest in them.
I really like the first one. I did too.
I'm like the, I think the 90s, Eighty, 990.
That one I have not watched thatI could not tell you when the

(45:02):
last time I watched. That I highly recommend it.
If anybody have to watch, let mesee if I can remember when it
came out. But yeah, it came out 1990.
Maybe. Have I seen it now?
I don't know. It's it's really well made or

(45:23):
90s movie. It's really well made.
It's it has like a kind of dark, gritty feel to it.
The turtles look surprisingly good.
I like that. It looked good for like not even
the 90s, just in general. I think the style they use for
them holds up very well, so I recommend that movie.
At least check. It out at least the first one.

(45:45):
The second one gets a little silly because it's it's still
good, but it's silly because youknow a lot of ice is in it and
they it gets more Kitty like they have ninja rap and all that
stuff. But the first one is a gritty
kind of like crime drama almost.I like that I might actually
watch it this weekend. I like.
That's fun. It's pretty fun.
Cool. All right.

(46:06):
Anything else you want to say before we go?
No, thank you so much for havingme.
I've been checking out your stuff and I'm a huge fan.
