(00:20):
Thank you. Welcome to the Delvin Cox

(01:14):
Experience, the podcast which each week I'm on a one man
mission to you now, the culturaldiversity.
I'm your host, Delvin Cox, and this episode I have a special
guest, an amazing guest, someonewho has been on here in years, I
would say a long time Delvin CoxExperience collaborator, someone

(01:35):
that you may know from plenty ofthings, from writing books, for
being on podcast, from a numerous amount of things.
The man, the myth, the legend, Jay Sandler.
How you doing, brother? You can also take off the mask
now that he's wearing. Oh.
I can speak. Oh man, I have barely talked
since the pandemic. He's he's riding a double cocked

(01:59):
experience mask if y'all haven'tnoticed.
It's not the it's not the latestlogo, but it's still pretty
cool, right? Yes, it is pretty cool.
Now I do have to correct you on one thing.
I don't go by Jay Sandlin, no MO, OK?
I don't know what you go by now.It well, my my real name.
It's Jay Sandlin, the third. I've always the. 3rd.
I've always been the 3rd and frankly Jay Sandlin is just too

(02:22):
common. So yeah, Jay Sandlin the third
and my in ring name what my friends call me so you can too.
J3. There you go.
We got to get to this right now because I think we got I think
we got an amazing story that you're about to tell.
But before we get to that, Jay Sandlin or J3 as you are now
called, as always, we'd like to start the podcast off at the

(02:46):
five for five. Oh, questions?
I'm ready to get the ball rolling.
Let's go, Jay. I'm ready.
Are you ready? I'm ready, brother.
Perfect question #1J3. If all the serial mascots get in
the brawl, who you got? Who you got your money on, Jay?
Tony the Tiger, they're great. I'm Tony the Tiger.

(03:09):
I've got a berserker rage like Wolverine and Sodomy.
I'm going to mess some folks up.And Captain Crunch.
I'm coming. For you like it, It's a pretty
good promo. Like it?
Go on. Great answer.
Question #2 Jay, I don't know ifyou saw the hubbub as of late.

(03:31):
There was a discussion. I wonder what your your opinion
on this? There was a discussion on social
media. OK.
One gorilla versus 100 men in a fight who you got winning?
Now come on, you got to get like, wait a minute, wait a
minute, The men Are the men armed?
No, they just bare hands. And like the gorilla, do the men

(03:57):
have to be naked? That is a good question.
Because I take it that the gorilla is naked, right?
Yes, the gorilla doesn't have pants on anything.
Like that, I'm going with the gorilla because if you're a
naked man and you're fighting a gorilla, I don't care what the
numbers are, I think that gorilla is going to fuck them
up. Yeah, that's pretty much the

(04:19):
sentiment on that time. So let's go with the old who
would win rules. This is a chance encounter.
Correct. Do we have a particular field of
battle? Like are we just out on an open
field here and they just happen to meet to my end?
Because that's. Most likely to happen there.
I, I don't see, I, I really don't see the gorilla.
I mean quality versus quantity. People don't realize how strong

(04:43):
gorillas are. Gorilla is basically superhuman
level strength. I believe that they can do like
one ton. So that's on Wolverine levels.
Not to mention the durability, the endurance, and their fur.
Their hide is natural armor, especially compared to us little
soft pink skins. And if the dudes are all naked,

(05:07):
which I don't know how 100 nakeddudes ended up in this
predicament, I would not want tobe one of them.
But you know what? That's how that usually happens.
That's I'm going to, I'm going to go with the gorilla.
Go watch what you got next. That is a great answer.
See. Yes, that very well.
Yeah. Thank you.
Thank you. Question #3 Jay.

(05:32):
Go on. I'm, I'm looking at you right
now because. We're going to.
We're going to we're going to get into that a second.
You love the pink couch. I know I.
Love the pink couch. Of course Jay's on the pink
couch. I love it.
Give me. Your top three favorite boxers?
No reason I ask you this, but you know.
I can do that easily and maybe, let's say in no particular order

(05:55):
though, it's going to be Manny Pacquiao, Mike Tyson and it's a
toss up, but I'm going to go with Muhammad Ali.
Can I have a #4? Yes, you can have a number 4.
Sugar Ray Leonard. I like it, like it a lot #5
Rocky Balboa. Well, OK, if we're getting into

(06:15):
fictional, then yeah, he's number one.
And also I got AI know you can'tuse friends and mentors but I
got to throw out my boy who saidyou.
Can't use friends and mentors. You know a box who knows a lot
of box, you can use them. Well, Tony Jeffries, we'll talk
about him later, I'm sure. Yes, we will #4 Jay, let me ask

(06:38):
you this. Maybe I shouldn't ask you this
right now. This is the question I asked
normally, but I'm, I'm going to because I'm going to ask you
this question when we start the regular podcast.
I'm quite sure you have an amazing story behind it.
So I will ask you this question then.
What is your favorite movie you've seen this past year?
Gladiator 2. I have not finished watching

(07:02):
that yet. I thought it was immersive,
transcendent, and Ridley Scott showed his chops.
Why? He's a GOAT.
So did Denzel, and I felt a realkinship.
I mean, it's been out for a while.
I think it's technically a 2024 release, but I'm going to go
with it anyway. But yeah, 12 months easy.

(07:24):
Yeah. But Lucius Varus, you know, I am
Lucius Varus, Prince of Rome. That's just some epic stuff,
right? And when Pedro Pascal, I mean,
come on, how you got to, you gotto love Pedro.
But yeah, I I loved it. It was the prodigal son of Rome.
Come home. And you know, I'm the prodigal

(07:45):
son of Florence, AL anyway, the outcast, the exile.
I'm here. So yeah, I'm going to go with
that. So question #5 and I'm, I'm a
tee up a little bit. Can see those who aren't
watching the video. Jay has a fancy little belt on

(08:05):
his side. So, as the great Shane Hills
would say, what's up with that? Oh well, the belt let's the
let's talk a bit about the belt here.
You see, this is the what represents, I should say it
represents the 100 round Southern Championship and that

(08:28):
is a title, A championship, an achievement which I unlocked by
boxing. 100 rounds, fitness boxing rounds.
No opponent, just me, the heavy bag and my stamina and will.
I boxed 100 rounds in March and I became the Southern Round
champion. Now the belt, that's a whole

(08:52):
other story. Are you ready for that?
I am ready for that. So this there's a local wrestler
by the name of Brax and hey, hisachievements in wrestling are
grandiose. Do you know I watched him go toe
to toe all across an auditorium with the man known?
He's been known by many names, but Big Daddy V Viscera King

(09:18):
Mabel from the WWEI watched those 2GO toe to toe.
They got in the bleachers, they rolled the round, and at the end
of that match, Mabel shook his hand in a sign of respect.
So this belt used to belong to Brax, but now, through a set of

(09:38):
circumstances that Brax isn't very happy about, it belongs to
me, J3. So you took the belt from AJ3?
I did not take anything. It was freely given.
Do you remember when Andre the Giants handed over his title to
the $1,000,000 man Ted Dibiase? Yes, I do remember that.

(10:01):
And then Ted Dibiase declared himself the champion, correct?
That is correct. And see, I did the same thing,
except I used my skill of persuasion to get Brax to hand
over his belt. See I told him I just needed it
for a photo op after I won my title and what happened was I

(10:22):
didn't mention that since I am amale model.
Shout out Hidden Hills watches. Since I am a male model, that
photo op is ongoing. So, possession being 9/10 of the
law and with the terms of our verbal agreements under the
Magna Carter, this is my belt. I love it, I love it.

(10:46):
Jason and Leffert came back, became a promo wizard.
Jedi mind. Jedi mind trick.
I gave him the Jedi mind trick to hand over his own belt.
You see, this still says wrestling.
I'm going to fix that, but it says southern.
That's all that matters. This has no logo.

(11:06):
This has no, it's not tied to any company much like me because
J3 free agent. But no, this belt represents the
South. And brother, I'm southern born,
Southern bred, fresh from Alabama.
When I die, I'll be southern dead.
So that makes me your Southern champ.

(11:27):
Love it, love it. All right, let let's get down to
the brass tacks of things. You're doing the J 360
challenge. Correct.
Let. Us know what this is all about
because when I when you talk about this offline, this is
amazing this is awesome this is a special thing so I want you to
bring to people what it is. Let's break it down a bit.
I'm a fitness boxer. I'm not getting in the ring with

(11:50):
an opponent because you know what?
I don't need one. It's me versus the bag versus
the mitts. And I got the bloody knuckles to
show you how much it takes. So yeah, on May the 30th I will
defend my Southern title, not against an opponent, but against

(12:15):
this guy right here. Do I have the endurance?
Do I have the stamina? Do I have the mental fortitude
to box 360 timed rounds on live stream for 24 hours?
That is pretty cool and from what I've heard this is for

(12:37):
charity. There is a philanthropy
involved, correct? You're right, this is all about
autism awareness. But more specific, it's about
helping out one special person on the spectrum.
OK. Would you like to get into that?
I would, I would. There is a very special person.
We're just going to use first names, but her name being Senna.

(13:01):
Senna actually is an employee ofmine, and before she started
working for me, she went througha rough season.
She did not have a vehicle. She actually lost utilities at
one point during the coldest time.
Believe me, it does get cold in Alabama too, in Shortlandia.

(13:23):
So yes, Spinna doesn't have a vehicle right now, but very
soon, maybe even by the time this airs, we're going to have
for her a GoFundMe. And you can find it all on
j3boxing.com. Because I'm going to punch until
I earn her a vehicle. That is amazing.

(13:43):
So if people want to check this out, they go on, let them know
again. Jyeahj3boxing.com And we've got
shirts too. This is one of them.
Dope shirt. Eat, sleep, boxing, repeat.
That is the motto of fitness boxing.
Because in fitness boxing, it's not about taking the hits, it's

(14:03):
about the training. It's about the fitness, it's
about the fun. You know, here at my studio, the
Dark Side Academy, you can trainlike a champion without taking a
single punch. I love it.
That is fantastic. I love that you're doing this.
I know Sin is an amazing person and that she would appreciate

(14:27):
you putting out this powerful message for her because autism
is a thing and sometimes we all need help and I think that it's
really great that you're doing this.
I've needed help in my life before too, and we shouldn't be
ashamed to ask for it. We shouldn't be ashamed to talk
about our mental health. Definitely.
So let me ask you this because the last time you were on here,

(14:50):
you weren't into fitness boxing.I wasn't into fitness, period.
Exactly. So how do we get from where you
were there to where you are now?Well, it was having three car
accidents in the span of 12 months, less than 12 months,
actually going through a divorce, and finally nearly

(15:14):
dying. My son and I nearly drowned in a
car accident just earlier this year on January 26th.
That wasn't. A a traumatic experience that I
know that was very difficult foryou to go to go through and it

(15:34):
was a lot. It was enough.
To it. Oh, I'm.
Going to get into it. We're we don't back down on the
Delvin Cox experience. No, no, we get to the nitty
gritty. So let's talk about it.
When I got divorced, I decided Iwas going to get up and move
because it had been years since the pandemic really that I
wanted to get up and move. And I got to over 230 lbs, which

(15:58):
for somebody who's 5 foot 7, that's a lot of weight to be
carrying. But now I'm a middle weight.
I'm a model. And I did it through fitness
boxing. And specifically I did it
through the workout plan on YouTube.
So go ahead and subscribe to him.
He is the nation's number one fitness boxer.

(16:20):
British Olympian, former undefeated professional fighter.
It's Mr. Tony Jeffries. How did you fight him?
Like how did you get into this? Well, I started going to a gym
first of all, and for the first three months I went to this gym,
I had no progress. I mean, it was better that I was
getting up and doing something, but I had no progress.

(16:42):
I had not lost any weights or maybe just a tiny bit.
And I finally got up the nerve to ask one of the trainers at
this gym to work with me on the heavy bag because prior to that
I was too embarrassed to even approach the heavy bag.
I wanted to so bad because I love boxing.

(17:04):
My whole life I always wanted tobe a boxer, and I thought that
was an unattainable goal. But I did MIT work, I did heavy
bag work, and I was pretty lousy.
But the trainer encouraged me tolook around on YouTube for
boxing training, and that's how I found Tony Jeffries.

(17:26):
And finally, Tony Jeffries inspires you to go harder, go
stronger, get into it and motivate.
Well, yeah, and 1st I found his workouts and I started doing
them every day and then I decided to message his Facebook
page. I was pretty certain I would
just get a form auto response, but that man started talking to

(17:48):
me and he even recorded a video for me.
And when I showed him my before and after pictures, which I'll
send to you, they're pretty dramatic.
You can find them on my website,j3boxing.com again.
But the story is Tony recommended a pair of gloves to
me, my Hayabusa T threes, which these are J threes.

(18:11):
So that's the point. These very nice and you know,
not cheap gloves because I sprained my wrist using some
cheap gloves. These gloves were with me in the
accident that I had on January 26th when my son and I were
driving home in the rain and we went tumbling down the side of a

(18:33):
ravine and landed upside down ina Creek.
Yeah, for for those who don't know, because this this is a,
this is a traumatic story. How did you guys survive
something like that? I got up and moved the same way
I changed my life through fitness boxing, because I

(18:54):
realized nobody was going to come and save me.
The water was filling up in the cab of that Hyundai Sonata, and
I dropped my phone in the watersand whatever deity is guiding my
life right now said get up and move and save your son's life
and save your own life. And my son and I, he helped.

(19:18):
He was a hero. He's the one that got the door
open. And when those waters came
flooding in, I tell you what, you know what I did, Delvin.
What did you do, Jay? I called on the name, above
every name, and at the feet of Jesus, I walked on the water and
moved us out of that car with nothing inside me but what the

(19:41):
Protestants call the Holy Spirit, what Goku would call the
Coyote Ken, whatever you want tocall it.
I'm got us out of that car. And I went wading through the
waters and there were people whohad seen us fall in, who were
trying to reach us, but the terrain was so.

(20:02):
Muddy and full of branches and sticks, and the ravine was so
steep they would not have reached us in time.
It's such a wild for those who don't know this story, like make
the news and everything, this islike a wild story.
You. Can read about it.
It happened on January 26th, 2025.
It's on waff.com. And these gloves that Tony had

(20:26):
recommended to me personally were in the wreck with me.
And I had only used them twice at that point.
And not that I cared at the time, but later when I thought
about how I'd lost these gloves,I thought, man, is this going to
derail my journey because I had not been on the boxing journey

(20:49):
long. And the next morning after the
accident, when we were able to recover what was found, the
gloves were there, these gloves. It's like a symbol.
They are my symbol. A symbol of actually.
You can see them. You can see them.
I have the white boxing glove. Can you see that next to my

(21:11):
signature, next to my name? Jay 3.
Yes, I can. The white boxing glove is a
symbol that I use because it's go ahead.
I know you're a man of faith, Jay, as you said, and sometimes
God shows us things well, whatever DT you may believe in

(21:32):
for those who may call. It the maker, the creator.
That's what I call them. The creator may show us things
and bring things to light and I think you getting them gloves
back was a sign. It was a sign that my journey
was not going to miss a single step.
And I've worn these gloves nearly every day since, and I'm

(21:54):
going to keep wearing them. I've gotten other pairs of
gloves, mind you, but these are my heavy bag gloves.
They are 16 ounces, which is thesame size the amateurs wear.
I hit the heavy bag with them and every punch tells me I'm
laying another stone towards my goals.
Speak. Speaking of goals, you mentioned

(22:16):
Tony Jeffrey. So after the accident, how did
he keep inspiring you to keep doing what you're doing now?
Oh, after the accident, I told him what happened.
I told him about the gloves. He was already advertising a
special for his school, online school, the Boxing Fitness
Academy, which is the number oneboxing fitness program in the

(22:41):
country, probably the world. You can look it up now.
Boxing, it's boxing fitness.com.He owns the domain.
He is the guru. He is the world champion.
I'm a regional, local kind of thing.
He's world champion, record breaker.
I contacted him and said I'm ready to sign up, I'm ready to

(23:03):
earn your certification. And not only did he sign me up,
he hooked me up with his vice president and they made me a
testimonial student. That is amazing.
So as I earn my certification, he's helping me build my social
media, he's helping me with my business plan.

(23:24):
He's in Korea right now, if thattells you anything.
But when he gets back, we're going to have a phone call and
go over my goals. And they're pretty lofty.
I'm not going to talk about all of them, but for right now,
we've got May 30th in front of us.
I've got to defend this title. Yeah, and you said, I don't know
if you said this, but Tony Jeffries like broken like
records and stuff doing this. He has He has a record as an

(23:48):
undefeated professional fighter. He went 16 and O as a pro after
winning Olympic gold for Great Britain and he had to retire
because of an injury to his hands.
As you can see, fitness boxing can be tough on the old hands.
That's why you got to get the hand wraps correct.

(24:09):
But old Tony, he decided he he went through a depression a bit
like I did somewhat. He gained weight.
He thought his life was probablyover.
He was told he wouldn't throw another punch.
But he took the last of his prize fighting money and opened
the box and burn. Jim made himself 7 figures a

(24:32):
year and now he's helping peoplelike me do it.
And now I'm opening my own boxing fitness studio.
You're I'm sitting in it right now on this pink couch.
Delvin, welcome to J3, Jim. I'm calling it the Dark Side
Academy. I like it.
I like it. So what is the process been of

(24:53):
like starting that up and even getting getting your mind
mentally prepared for that? Who?
Well, I'm working with his his partner, coach Kez Kez.
She's an Australian badass. She's the one that I work with
on a day-to-day basis, submitting my assessments and my
assignments. Right now we're working on knit
work together, but I'm going to have a photo of her and a photo

(25:17):
of Tony up on the walls. Because Kez told me something
that has rang true with me because she could see when I
started out that I was a manic maniac in such a hurry.
And that is me. You've known me long enough, she
told me, paraphrasing. Why are you rushing Greatness?

(25:39):
That is the perfect way to describe that and to say that.
Yes. Why rush greatness?
Why rush? Great that I'm going to have it
on the walls here. It's going to be on the walls.
I asked her to send me a pic already.
I really want to pick. You can follow her on Instagram
at Coach Kez. I really want a picture of her
working in the ring because whenshe is in her element she is a

(26:01):
force. That's amazing.
That's awesome. So we talked about something
offline and I'm bringing it up right now.
You got a tattoo? Let's talk tattoos.
I got a couple of them. I'll show you the one that's
out. So this was the one I got as an
inspiration from the accident. Let me pull that down.

(26:23):
I got my I got my boots on. I put my boots on for your
podcast, by the way. It.
Says J3 and Joel. Joel's my son's name, so both
our names are on there because we survived a raised fist.
That's my fist. I wrapped it and took a picture
of it for my artist, Mr. Steven Gilchrist at Noble Sparrow Inc

(26:44):
in Muscle Shoals, AL. But this is what I call my black
Laurel tattoo. You see around it the Laurel
wreath. I like it, it's dope.
Well, the Laurel is the title belt of the ancient world.
They gave Laurel wreaths to champions in the ancient world
and I chose a black Laurel because death came for us and

(27:10):
you know you cannot defeat Death.
Death is the final enemy. All due respect to you, Rock
Dwayne, Death. Death is all of our final boss
and we will all lose. However, we managed to evade
Death. So for that I believe the Gods,

(27:31):
the Maker, the Creator of Christ, gave me the black
Laurel. I love it.
And that's why it's tattooed on my skin.
Now I got another tattoo. Are we going to talk?
About that, yeah, let's talk. About it, well, guess what?
We can talk about it, but you can't see it because it's not
going to be shown. It's hidden.

(27:53):
It's going to be shown on May the 30th when I have my tattoo
revealed. I will reveal it when I begin my
defense of the Southern title. When I begin the J 360
challenge, I will reveal the tattoo on my live stream.
I don't know where I will be revealing it, but trust me, it

(28:17):
took two sessions. It took a good 8 to 9 hours
total, and I had to get the second session not too long
after the first, so I was getting some pretty detailed
color work on top of a pretty fresh tattoo.
Dope. So May 30th it's a tattoo reveal

(28:40):
it is. Which will immediate and I will
immediately go into the challenge, yes.
Which also goes into the challenge, as you said.
Where can people see this at again?
You know you can find everything@j3boxing.com but
follow my socials at J3J Sanwan I.
I I'm keep putting this out there so people can definitely

(29:02):
check this out. On Facebook, yeah, Facebook, Jay
Sandlin the third and then on Insta and TikTok.
You can find me there. There will be a live stream.
I'm probably going to keep the live stream, the TikTok for the
most part and link to it everywhere else.
So find me on TikTok if you haven't already.

(29:23):
J3J Sandlin I I I. So we're not going yet.
We got something else to talk about.
Big the last time you were on here, I don't know if you
remember this, you were talking about a little well known comic
called Over the Ropes. Over the Rope.
It was the first book I ever hadpublished.

(29:45):
A graphic novel. A fictional story about a pro
wrestling organization, Southernbased, set in the 1990s.
And now there is a sequel. Over the Ropes 2 from my friends
at Mad Cave Studios. What up, Mark London?
Yeah, Over the Ropes 2 is available.

(30:07):
You can get the graphic novel collection on
madcavestudios.com, their website.
Wonderful publisher out of Florida.
So a Southern publisher putting out my Southern wrestling comic
set in the 90s featuring everybody's favorite babyface,
the hero Jason Lynn, AKA Phoenix.

(30:31):
So what was that like working back on that project here that I
know you were very proud of? I worked with the amazing Brian
Hawkins as an editor. I think you know Brian, he's a
good friend. And we collaborated, we
brainstormed, and I think we came up with a worthy successor
to the seat, to the to the to the Part 1.

(30:52):
I feel like Part 2 kind of surpassed the sequel because
it's developed the world. It had more than twice the
number of wrestling characters in it as the first one, and it
gets into a female wrestlers as well.
That's great. Long time and short time.
Devil Cox Spirits listeners knowBrian Hawkins very well.
He's been on this podcast a multitude of time, so it's great

(31:16):
to hear that you and Brian Hawkins are working together
again on an amazing Count book series.
And this, yeah, this one's been released and we've I've not had
another comic project in a while.
My most recent one was with Scout Comics.
Mom Breaks the Internet. That was my first creator owned
comic. And after that one, I went into

(31:38):
my depression and I haven't madea comic sense.
But guess what? What?
I'm coming back to comics. I love it.
That's great to hear. And guess what?
This time I have a Co writer. You know who it is.
Who's your Co writer? Joel Sandlin.
That is awesome. He's going to be an 11 year old

(32:00):
comic book writer, the youngest around.
And I bet some comic cons would love to set up a table for the
youngest 11 year old comic book writer, don't you think?
I think so. Bringing Joel in the family
business, I love it. That's great.
Would you like to know the title?
What's the title? We're still playing with it, but
it's going to be a book about set in Greek mythology.

(32:25):
We're going to explore the earlylife of everyone's favorite God,
Zeus. Oh, I like it.
How did Zeus become king of the gods?
What was he like as a young God?How did he rise up against his
father Kronos? All these things will be
explored in a father son dynamicwritten by a father and a son.

(32:50):
That is a brilliant idea. We need to find a publisher for
it. I feel like we don't get enough
stories about Zeus being young. Zeus.
People think of Zeus as the bearded man with the lightning
bolts, but if you get into the actual Greek lore, Zeus is very
much Loki for the Greeks. He's a trickster, he's a

(33:12):
shapeshifter, and he's really horny all the time.
Yes, based off the multitude of kids, yes.
No. Not to mention all his antics of
disguising himself as a bull or a swan.
And you know, he's Zeus and Loki, I'm pretty sure, derive
from the same myths. You know I do have a master's in

(33:33):
history, right Delvin? Yes, I know that that.
Is so I've really looked into this and I feel like we can tell
a great story. We just need to find the right
home for it. I need to hit up my buddies at
Mad Cave Studios or Black Box Comics, what up Demetrius and
just see where that could go. Who would you like to have pit

(33:55):
it? Like draw, make the pictures and
stuff for draw the art for it. I know so many great artists, I
don't even want to pick one. I'd have to give that some
serious thought. See, that's the, that's the,
that's the process right there kind of getting that right mix.
And why don't the artist tell mewho might like to do it?

(34:16):
Maybe you can come to me for I ain't J3.
Don't go chasing. I don't go.
I don't chase. I don't chase you down.
If you want to work with me, let's work.
If you don't, if you're not returning my text, if you're
putting me on read, if you're not letting returning my
voicemail, I have no use for you.
I love it. So what is next for J3?

(34:41):
Well, in the immediate future onthe 18th I'm running a 5K here
locally in Florence, AL because boxers run too.
I love it. What's this 5K for?
It's at McFarland Park, it's puton by one of the local churches
and once again I will be runningfor my philanthropy that's going
to be autism awareness and to promote the Go Fund me.

(35:05):
I love it. That's great, do you have the
link for the GoFundMe yet? Go to j3boxing.com to find the
link to everything. The GoFundMe is not live as of
this recording, but it's going to go all summer, so it's not
going to be a quick GoFundMe. We're going to spread it out,
but J3 boxing.com is where you'll be able to find Matt and.

(35:28):
What I'll do is once this episode goes live and once the
GoFundMe goes live, I will drop the link in the episode.
And I'm going to, Yeah. And while I'm at it, I'm going
to send you this shirt. Oh, that's.
Dope, you want this shirt? I'll send it to you.
I love it. That's awesome.
I'm going to say I'll send it toyou this week.

(35:49):
Perfect. I signed the bottom of them.
And I'm going to rock it this week then if I get as soon as I
get it, I like it. Well, why?
Don't you take a lesson from me.You could be my first virtual
student. I don't mind that at all.
That'll be pretty cool. Because the the Dark Side
Academy, I'll be taking private lessons, I'll be taking
students. I'm going to be doing youth

(36:10):
camps with great speakers. Some guest speakers, some local
pastors and coaches in the area are going to come speak.
We're going to have fitness boxing, we're going to have a
virtual reality boxing video games, we're Nerf gun battles.
I mean, we're just going to havea great time.
And it'll be a chance for parents who are working during
the summer to give their kids something edifying to do with

(36:34):
their summer vacations. So if somebody wanted to learn
Fitness Box from you and get into this, how would they do it
and what makes a difference for this in the boxing to add to
that? Well, the difference is
obviously you're not taking punches.
It's about the fitness and fun and you just again, go to
j3boxing.com and the launch pageright there has a link that says

(36:57):
join us. You click that, it pulls up an
e-mail. Send the e-mail with your name
and info and that you want to have a class, whether it's in
person, if you're local to the Shoals area.
Because I hail Delvin. I hail from the fighting city of
Florence, AL. Let's go.

(37:19):
Shoals area we are steeped in history and tradition.
Muscle Shoals AL is touching Florence, Muscle Shoals home of
fame studio where greats like Percy Sledge, Aretha Franklin,
all the greats recorded there intheir time.
All the legends and legends and to the list.
J3 baby. You know, I don't get to decide

(37:42):
if I'm a legend. You let history decide, but all
I know is I live by faith, not by sight and I'm taking it day
by day and I don't know what my days are going to be like.
I wake up in the morning with a plan.
But have you ever heard the phrase Delvin?
That man plans and God laughs. I've heard that phrase before.

(38:06):
Well, I'm pretty sure that's my life right now.
I don't know what's happening tome next.
I mean, my life can change in aninstant.
I can pick up the wrong cell phone and my life changes in an
instance, yes. One of my favorite phrases.
Everybody has a plan till they get punched in the face.
Oh, that's from Mike Tyson. Mike Tyson said.
Everybody got a plan till they get punched in the mouth.

(38:28):
Exactly but. That was a little more like that
was a little more Dusty Rhodes. Something about Dusty Rhodes.
Rick Flair, Rick Flair. Just let me tell you something,
baby, Sometimes you got to. I donned with kings and Queens
and I dined in alleys on pork and beans.
But hard times make better meal, yeah?

(38:52):
Your Dusty Rose is better than your Mike Tyson, I will say
that. Hey, I can do a decent Mike
Tyson on Sundays. You want to see a bit of the
gym. Yeah, let's see the gym before
we go. I got a slip bag right here.
You ever heard of a slip bag before?
Yes, I have. All right, well, I love my slip
bag. I spend a lot of time doing a

(39:15):
slip bag work because it helps you with your reflexes.
You do your roles, practice in those roles to defend against
hooks. You ever had to defend to get
Now I know Delvin, you've had todefend yourself against hookers
because I know that's your lifestyle, right?
No, that is not my lifestyle, but I have boxing a long time

(39:38):
ago, quite a long time ago. Well, you got your slip bag.
We'll be working with the slip bags here at the Academy.
We got our focus bag, swivel armcoming at you.
So you got all kinds of modes ofdefense to train for fitness.
Boxing of course, is also usefulfor self-defense.
Sometimes the battle finds you. And of course, we got the heavy

(40:01):
bag I'll be getting. I'll be getting even more
equipment soon. I've got an Aqua bag I've
ordered. I've got another heavy bag
that's heavier than that one. So we've got we've got
everything we need. Yeah, and if it doesn't work
out, he also has swords in the background.
That's perfect. Oh, the swords.

(40:23):
I've got Excalibur, I've got theConan sword, I've got the
Highlander sword, and I've got Mordred's blade.
Are you familiar with the legendof Mordred I?
Am not familiar with the legend of Mordred.
Mordred. He is the nephew or sometimes
bastard son of King Arthur in the lore, basically the one who
rose up against his father and tried to take the Kingdom.

(40:46):
Do you know how I know Mordred? How?
There was a cartoon in the 90s called King Arthur, the Knights
of Justice. Yep, I remember it.
And I think Mordred was the bad guy.
And I think Mad Cave Studios is actually adapting that now.
OK, now. You got me excited.
Yeah, check out Mad Cave. Mad Cave is my first home.

(41:07):
Love it. All right, Jay, let him know the
fight yet before we go one last time.
One last time, what do you want to do?
Let him know the fight yet before we go.
All right, I'm Jay Sandlin, the third J3.
I'm also alcohol free and I tellyou what, find me.
Find me on social media at J3J Sandlin III&J threeboxing.com.

(41:33):
You can find my schedule and remember on May 30th, it's going
to be time for me to defend the 100 round Southern Championship.
I've also heard that wrestler, that pro wrestler, that big
mammoth of a man. Hey, Brax, I know you're bigger
than me. I know you got that neck tattoo.

(41:54):
I know you walked away from a motorcycle crash that would have
killed any mortal man. Brother, you got chops.
But you ain't J3. And that belt, it's staying with
me. Love it as always Delvin Cox
experience we are out peace.
