Speaker 1 (00:10):
The Eagles moved to seven and O, beating the Steelers
thirty five to thirteen. And it was the A. J.
Brown Show that was touchdown number one? Here comes touchdown
number two. How about touchdown number three? It was a
hat trick for A J. Brown today, but he was
the only receiver that found the end zone. Zach Pascal
scores his first touchdown as an Eagle. Welcome to the

(00:30):
postgame show presented by Rico. I'm Gabriella de Givanni, joined
by friend Duffy and I Greece Ike. I wasn't sure
how much juice you were gonna have coming off the
bye week, you know, but no rust whatsoever. Mid season

(00:51):
form from my crazy weren't rusty. You weren't rusty. I'm
telling you. I didn't realize the team was gonna looked
as good either coming off the bye week. Man, this
was a blast to watch this play today. I mean
the offense, ball through the air. A J. Brown. Outstanding
game from him with Jalen Hurst today, My goodness, career
high four touchdown passes. He just looked flawless out there today. Yeah.

(01:11):
Then the defense one for twelve, oh third down, you
have three sacks a couple more turnovers. This defense continuing
a high level of play here against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
But this is what you want to see from a
team like the Eagles. On paper, they should win this game,
there is no question about that. But to be able
to do that through all four quarters frame You and
I talked about this in the postgame show. Can they
put together a performance in all four quarters? And I

(01:32):
think they did that today. Yeah. And you're so right.
When you're going up against an inferior opponent like the
Pitchburgh Steelers, sometimes it's human nature to let your guard
down and think it's gonna be a casual day for you.
But I like what the Eagles did. Man. They came out,
they delivered the first punch, and they didn't let their
foot up off the gas all day until they got
that final touchdown and they put the backup staying there.

(01:53):
This is what you want to see from a football
team that's undefeated. I think it's been their most dominant
performance of the season. When you think about start to finish,
If you think about playing a young team or with
a young quarterback like the Pitchburg Stablers, you don't want
this team to hang around and think that they can
win this game. You want to put your foot on
the firth boat and basically choke him out. And that's

(02:15):
what they did. That's what dominant football teams do, and
that's what the Eagles did today. Yeah, h I think
you hit the nail on the head. This was a
four quarter game. That's one of the things that was
the only complaint that you heard about this team was
all the difference between the first half and the second half.
What happens with the offense on the first drive of
the second of the second half, they come out in
completion on first down and then four straight plays of

(02:36):
ten plus yards that leads to a touchdown, and then
defensively boat two turnovers in the second half. You let
up three points on the scoreboard. Just an outstanding job
on both sides of the football. Really good complimentary football
from this team, but a really strong way to finish
after the fast start. All right, Eagles fans, We're gonna
head over to Lincoln Financial Field where Dave Spernero joins
US live from the field. Dave WelCom in. The Eagles

(02:58):
are seven and oh that's the top. What are your
big takeaways from today's game. You know, Ella, great energy
from this football team today. We wondered how they would
come off the bye week, wondered about the sixteen minute
game as you guys talked about, and they showed right away.
As Jalen Hurts said during the week, do you remember, Ella,
that he talked about elevating that intensity, that focus, that urgency,

(03:21):
and they did that today. I thought Jalen was really
great throwing the football down the field, and that is
something that you'd heard in the past, the Eagles not
throwing the ball down the field a lot. His accuracy
down the field in question. Some of the balls he
had today were absolutely fantastic. And a J. Brown going
up and making plays and adjusting to the football and
stealing those fifty fifty passes away from defensive backs. It's

(03:44):
everything we've seen from AJ. And then that on the
other side that the confidence that Jalen Hurts has throwing
the football down field really really impressive. Then they got
the run game going in the second half, so really
good Yin and yang there offensively, and then offensively Eagles
very content giving up that short stuff to Kenny Pickett.

(04:05):
But when the time came to put the pressure on
to take the football away. They did it. It was
just a really impressive performance and again a sixty minute game.
As Franz said, something that the Eagles had been talking
about all year. We finally saw it today. Eagles scored
a touchdown in every quarter of this afternoon. Dave, what
does that say about the productivity from the offensive side
of the football. Yeah, great consistency. It's what they've been

(04:26):
looking for. And you know, not coming out slow, putting
up points on the first drive, still just coming at
the Steelers, coming at the Steelers in a variety of ways.
Getting Zach Pascal involved. I just really like what Zach
brings to the game, So getting him involved, keeping him
going really important there. Dallas Goddard another very quiet but
six catches. Eagles spreading the football around, doing a great job.

(04:49):
DeVante Smith some nice catching runs. I just again, if
this team can put together four quarters like they did today,
I don't care who the opposition is, really really tough
team to be. She objected for this defense was limiting
explosive plays going into this afternoon. What can you say
about their performance? Yeah, I thought again, you know, the
clay Pool Pickens, I think I think he did not

(05:12):
have a catch and at least till the very end,
I mean last I look, he had zero catches, so
really good job by James Bradberry and company working on
him down the field. Good job on Deontay Johnson and
his speed, Clay Pool, same thing. I mean, the Eagles
not we talked about it before the game, do not
give up the big play, which they didn't do. They
really they did a very nice job containing Pittsburgh, keeping

(05:34):
everything in front of them, and then being able to
have those two takeaways huge keeps the streak alive here.
Sixteen takeaways in seven games is remarkable. And then a
lot of pressure on Picket and some sacks and the
defense again you know that one touchdown and after the
Eagles scored. Okay, you go out, Teas, I want to
see a perfect game. Other than that, it was pretty

(05:56):
much a perfect game from the Eagles defense. Dave, what
was that crowd? Like? Seven to zero? The Eagles were
dominant all game. Yeah, I mean, I'll tell you, like
the Eagles, I think the crowd might be a little
partied out from the weekend and they're sitting here and
they're they're sitting here any good time in the morning.
I think everybody kind of expected the Eagles to take
care of business today against the Pittsburgh Steelers. A few

(06:18):
times they had to get loud third downs they did,
but otherwise, I think the fans sat back, understood what
they were watching, and that was a domination by the
Philadelphia Eagles over the Pittsburgh Steelers. They sat back in
this beautiful October day and enjoyed every bit of it.
Late night baseball Game's gonna be a late night on
Thursday all week ahead for Philly fans and a great weekend.

(06:40):
Everybody's really enjoying all the positive vibes, and I think
the players are feeding off that too. It's just a
it's a great sports environment in Philadelphia. Great Dave, thank
you so much. All Right, that was Eagles Inside or
Dave Spinnaro. But Eagles fans, while you're tuning in, be
sure to write in the Facebook comments any questions you
have for Ike and or ask Ike segment. You can
type them in the faceboo comments will ear them on

(07:01):
the show. All right. Listening to some things that Dave
had to say, I thought it was interesting when he
said Eagles fans are kind of sitting back and enjoying this.
It is something to enjoy and a moment to just
be very present for it. But when he did get
get into the weeds of what we saw today, and
you think about I mean, he said George Pickens had
zero receptions. Say, weekend and week out, we see this
defense completely shut down very productive wide receivers. Yeah, I mean,

(07:25):
We've said it before. This is the best secondary in football.
And I'm actually a little surprised they weren't able to
come up with a few more interceptions off Kenny Pikett.
But he kept the ball out of harms right for
the most part, Kemp everything underneath. The times he did
throw the ball down the field, it certainly wasn't harms
where they finally got one with C. J. Gardner Johnson
picking him off late. But I'm you don't want to

(07:47):
take for granted what this defense is doing. But it's
almost expected, all right, It's almost expected. That's the level
and the standard that they've set by the way that
they've played so far this year. And you look at
the schedule and you say to yourself, what quarterback is
going to be able to throw the ball against this defense?
I just don't see it. When you look at how
the defensive line plays up front, and they played complimentary

(08:09):
football on the back end, there's no one to throw
the ball too. I mean, it just is it. I
just don't think that you can have any issues with
the defensive performance in this game. The only touchdown allowed
in this game came on that fourth and one trick
play off the jet sweep throw from Chase Claypool, and
that happened after a penalty on the field goal. Right,
So you have a long drive in the end of
the beginning of the third quarter, fourteen plays, you're up

(08:31):
eighteen points, so you go fourteen plays that ends in
the field goal. That drive, by the way extended by
the fake punt. So when you look at all the
points that Pittsburgh was able to score, some flukey plays
involved in there, I thought this defense was really really impressive.
One for twelve on third down. The only third down
conversion a QB sneak from Kenny Pickett on third and
one that was all the way back in the first quarter.

(08:52):
So this defense absolutely showed up in a big way
today against the Steelers. Six sacks for the Eagles defense,
two of those coming from jay Von Hargrave, against former team.
What can we say about the pressure we're seeing from
the Eagles defense affront? I just mentioned the complimentary defense, right,
so very want to get into Kittie Pickett no problem
because he has nowhere to go with the football. You know.
Sometimes they do a great job getting off the ball,

(09:14):
beating the one on one blocks, but there were times
a day where he had to hold the ball back
there and it was great to see Javon Hargrave has
his success against his old team. I thought the play
where he got the strip fumble there really put out
the last little ditch of holding in Pitchburgh had of
getting back into this game, and that was a huge
play there. Yeah, no doubt it. It's always great to
be able to see guys perform in that kind of situation.

(09:35):
One thing I loved too from the Seagles defense. We
saw a number of blitzes. We saw a number of
stunts that resulted in some big plays that CJ. Gardner,
Johnson or sack came off that nickel pressure. And then
we saw the sack from a Son Reddick on the
first third down of the game that came on that
three man stunt. We haven't seen a lot of that
from the Seagles defense. I thought that was impressive to
take away as well. Thirteen tackles for t J Edwards today,

(09:56):
another game where he was the team's leading tackler. You know,
I'm coming to UI. What have you seen from him
in terms of growth? Right, he was a good linebacker
last year, obviously that he was believed to him when
they gave him a contract extension. But now he's played
a different kind of ball. Yeah, his football IQ is
so high and you can tell he's rarely out of position.
That's the thing I love about TJ. Not the biggest,

(10:18):
not the fastest, so he's not going to overwhelm you
with his measurables, but he has it up here. He
knows where to be at those guys trusting you talk.
You talk about the thirteen tackles that he had. He
also tipped that ball that CJ partner Johnson was able
to pick off TJ. TJ to me, he's obviously an overachiever.
He's talking about the guy was undrafted. He's played different
positions coming out of Wisconsin. Man, he's just a hard worker.

(10:41):
That's why I love his story. I love his journey
to the NFL and what He's become on this football
team really one of the leaders over there own defense.
Even though they have all the big money players around him,
TJ is the guy in the middle that they all
look to. Yeah, let the team and pass breakups. Today
you had a couple of so leading the team and
tackles and pass breakup. I've always been a fan of
t J. Edwards, and I think that his play shows

(11:03):
up so so well in this scheme. When you're gonna
play with lighter boxes, you need your guys in the
front seven that are playing close to the line of
scrimmage to be able to play through contact defeat blocks.
You can't just be one for one up there when
you've got six guys in the box. And I think
you see that time and time again from t J. Edwards.
His ability to be a ball magnet and just get
to the football time and time again shows up every

(11:24):
single week. All Right, we haven't asked that question. Let's
see what we have. I get one more victory from you.
Come on, you gotta perform for the people like victory.

(11:45):
He might not be able to talk. The rest I get,
I get nervous. They're getting really intense. He's getting more
of the body into than these days. I'm worried he's
gonna go back chair down. Tell you if I do
fall out of his chair to go to blank real quick.
I don't think you got a fray with that on.
You're going viral on that one. All right, let's get
back to the defense. It's funny the Eagles put up

(12:06):
thirty five points, but we're talking about the defense. But
I have another question for you guys. Seeing CJ. Gardner
Johnson get his third interception, I'm sorry, another interception in
his third straight game, I should say he's still a
new addition to this team. When you see guys like him,
like Hassan Reddick, I mean, he kicked things off of
the defense with that sack in the opening drive against
the Steelers, And then you get a guy like Robert

(12:27):
Quinn and how's he going to find his place in
this defense? What can you say about Jonathan Gann and
what he's done to really bring all of these pieces together,
really has done a masterful job this year. You know,
these guys usually you need game experience together to sort
of be able to play off of each other on
that defensive side of the ball. And watching what these
guys are doing, given the fact that most of them

(12:48):
got here this year on that side of the football,
It's been amazing that jan I said he's JG. Now
he went since JG has the ability to do the
what we call it the multiple multiple defenses. Yeah, the
multiple defenses give you different looks. I love how he's
using guy's Fran brought up the sack the Hassan Reddick had.
You rarely see a three man game like that where

(13:09):
the ind comes all the way around and at least
have it work, and he came through that Scott free.
So Jonathan Ganning up at night mad scientists coming up
with different ways to put these guys in position so
so that they can make place and C. J. Gardner
Johnson is playing safety, where a position power of coming here.
He had some reps at it, but didn't do it
a whole lot. He was more of a nickel corner.

(13:31):
And I love the fact that he's back there as
a ball hulking player and a playmaker man. This defense
is only going to get better as the season goes on. Yeah.
One of the big things that I've heard a lot
over these last couple of weeks of the Eagles you know,
plus twelve and turnover ratio. Coming into the game, was
all like, is that sustainable? Are they're always gonna be
able to count on those turnovers? Well, I think with
the way that the Eagles have set this team up,

(13:51):
not just from a player's standpoint, when you get a
reddick and you're adding Robert Quinn, all those guys are
certainly out to it. I'm sorry I have to cut
you off with the man of the hour aj at
the podium. Every one, good man. When there's a gold
ball for you, when you enjoy moms, you know something, Uh,

(14:18):
I think I enjoyed the most being single covered. You know.
Um my eyes light up because I know I got
a possibility. It gets the ball and it's my ball
to nobody ball. And I'm kind of upseting myself because
I know the opportunity laying a game even though it's
a flag, but I knew I could have caught the
ball and another opportunity in the ball I had dropped

(14:40):
where I let the sun just dictate my whole everything.
I couldn't see the ball in and so that I'm
really kind of upset right now because I know I
could have had like a I had a big day,
but I could have had an even bigger day, you know,
if I made the most of them opportunities. So it's
definitely wrong for improvement. So James, I kind of if
you kind of talk about those late hands you were

(15:02):
practicing during the summer, um kind of showed up today.
Yea with a couple of those, how much you take
you I prove that I'm always trying to like work
on something and continue continue, uh getting a bigger bag,
you know, the building my arts on them, and uh
yeah I did. I did show late hands and I

(15:24):
squeeze them, squeezing back inside to give myself some room
for the over the shoulder. Jenna gave me a great
ball on them on both of the sideline passes, and
you know, I just ots over the shoulder. So what
was stealing that that first touchdown? Pastics like it sort
of slowed up mid round before you saw the ball
in the airline. Yeah, that's the thing with Jenen. You

(15:46):
never know like what to expect because I did not
supposed to get that ball, and I looked I was
just trying to clear it off for Smitty and you know,
get the safety out of out the way and Uh.
I looked up the ball was in air, and I'm like,
oh shit, I mean and at I gotta at least
try to go do something. You know. I know Miko
back there and he was he was playing like the
center field. I'm glad he wasn't that aggressive, you know,

(16:07):
so you know I had to be aggressive. So on
the other two touchdowns, you did you know it was?
It was different? Yeah, I knew I had a possibility
to to get the ball right there and he got
called for a Tony Pann. Yeah, you're saying to the Steelers, Uh,
I just said one two, that's not enough. You know

(16:31):
what you form, the kind of cemetry, what's physical? Me
and jam Um, I think we just we just want
to be great. You know, this is somebody that I
called myself, called myself, called my friend, and he knows

(16:57):
or he knows what I want to accomplished, and I
know he want to complished. So when you're playing for
somebody you know that you love. You know what I'm
saying that you call family, you know, it's a it's
a different it's a different it's a different meaning behind it.
You know. You know, I know I can't let him down.
You know what I'm saying. So we just we just

(17:18):
haven't fun to playing for one another. You know, I'm
pretty sure he knows that I got his back and
I know he got mine. So I just think that's
that's exactly what this is. Like on your last reception, Um,
you know, when you got caught the ball over the
middle and then kind of like ran past the defense,
I mean, did you think you were going in for
a touchdown? Yeah, that's another one I'm upset about too.

(17:43):
My teammates gave me a hard time for that, Uh,
especially Zach Pascal and he just got called so he
made a little better. Um, But yeah, I definitely, I
definitely felt like I was on the score. You know, Mika.
You know, he did a good job of you know,
swiping my legs and get me down, But I was
I was upset, you know, that's I think, like, I

(18:04):
think that's the first time I got caught in the NFL. So,
you know, my teammates let me here here like that,
so we've all good to see what you guys have
like back in your president you kind of also open
it up stuffing the white jokes also passed all that. Yeah,
most definitely, Um, when I got out to a hard start,
you know, Um, we knew that's gonna start doubling me. Um,

(18:27):
and they did, and so it was another opportunity for
someone else, you know. And then and I don't mind that.
I don't mind that at all. But whenever, I just know,
whenever I get the opportunity to go on on one,
I got to make the most of it, you know.
So like a lot of that, a lot of the
touchdowns were on blitzes by Pittsburgh exact. Got the point

(18:47):
of emphasis during the bye weeks. It was kind of
the focus there. Um Yeah, we most definitely wanted to
clean that up. But I didn't even know if it
was on blitzes to be honest, but we most definitely,
uh this this buy, you know, we wanted to try
to clean up everything is possible and picking up the
blitz and you know what I'm saying, calling the hot
routes was definitely one of the things that we worked on.

(19:09):
You talked about how player at your level you're still
trying to add you know, stuff to your bag and
the proud we're a team that's seven to do. How
do you guys as a group of board, Uh, just
remaining humble. We wasn't perfect out there. It made the score,
may may say something, but we wasn't perfect and we know, um,

(19:30):
we got stuff to clean up. You know, Like I
said a couple weeks ago, this team is hungry. You
know what I'm saying most importantly humble, but we know
it's a lot of work to be done. Man, we
still have not played like a complete game. And and
I promise you everybody's wrong gonna know when we played
a complete game, you know what I'm saying, because we
believe in each other and once we once we do
that the whole world. And know that I just enjoyed

(19:53):
this one and playing again for this Let's do it again.
You know, a quick turn around. You know, you gotta
do as necessary, get your body prepared, and um, we
even we're starting that now in the locker room, you know,
doing doing stuff that we have to do to get
our bodies ready for Thursday. You know. So, I mean,

(20:15):
I'm sorry. J has a lot of critics on um.
You know, people say things about his arm. What do
you think a forecasting touchdowns today? I don't want to
answer that question because he would answer that question, you know,
because he he doesn't care about that, you know. Uh,
but crazy just you know you kind of talking about
your really, but what do you know about is spier

(20:36):
right now, I'm gonna answer it from a free standpoint
almost definitely, you know what I'm saying. I want him
to accomplish everything you know he set out to achieve,
you know, from a players a players standpoint, you know, Uh,
he hasn't done nothing yet, so you know he's still working.
He's in the lab, and you know that's the mentality
he has too. So Jay, when you think office to

(20:59):
make gets about different people all year at different times.
We have a game like this one, we have rout
or don't feel like we're having a game like this one. Um,
it's fine, it's fine. We as you saw, we was
out there doing celebrations and everything and it's fine. It's

(21:20):
fun man, It's it's nothing like it. You know that
I could say, like you know, not to throw you know,
bad blood on anyone, but like it's most time, like
we are having fun. It's offense this team, like we're
enjoying each other. Kelsey Kelsey on the sideline with the
batman mask, Like like, guys, we're thinking about stuff to
do and we're doing it, you know, you know, uh,

(21:43):
it's it's it's so fun. I just can't. I don't know,
I don't got the words for it. Like if we
just enjoying each other and playing ball, doing what we love. So,
like A. J. Brown said, they're just having some fun.
We're gonna keep having fun on this show right here.
So Eagles fans, get your comments in on the Facebook amens,
ask any question you have. We'll get him answered right
here on the show. Very interesting. He had a three

(22:06):
touchdown day and he says, upset with his performance. I
had a big day, but it could have been bigger.
That's a true competitor right there. But also speaking from
a veteran and understanding, you know that there's always more
you can strive for. Yeah, and you love the fact
that his standards are high. He expects more from himself
and receivers. They only had so many opportunities in the game, right,

(22:26):
So he had a couple chances there where he feels
like he could have had an even bigger day. And
that's just a caliber of player than he is. He
expects those things out of himself and I love it.
I mean, he reminds me a lot of Jalen. You
can tell all these guys are very good friends. They're
around each other, they have sort of the same mentality.
We've heard Jalen at their games this year. Obviously they'd
won every game, but Jaalen not necessarily be happy with

(22:49):
whether it was his performance or the team's overall performers,
saying that the standard is high and we hadn't met
the standard yet. So be interesting to hear Jalen's comments
today because I think they met the standard today today,
I believe was their most dominant performance. Well, you know
that they're always going to hang on those players that
that could have been something else. And that's the thing
is that when you have a guy like Jalen who
is leading the offense and that's the tone that he sets,

(23:11):
like that's when we talk about on field standard. That's
the off field standard that Jalen Hurt sets and all
those guys they have to match it behind him. And
so hearing aj Brown kind of follow that, it has
been fun to watch. Well, another guy who's having some
fun today, Jason Kelsey. This is when he was strolling
around the sidelines looking like a j Brown mentioned it
he put the Batman mask on. That's a new one.
We've seen the cape. Now we got a mask out

(23:33):
here now and Kelsey has it on. Yeah, we all listen.
Everybody's favorite, the mayor of Philadelphia, Jason Kelsey. Who else
would be perfect for doing that on the sideline. It
had to be Jason Kelsey. So this is great to see.
You know, these guys are enjoying playing with each other.
Winning It brings a lot of that out of you.
And so I just love the fact that they have

(23:54):
that sort of culture set on the team that you know,
they know when they have a little fun. I like
to touchdown celebrations. That's starting to get creative as well.
All right, let's hear from coach himself, Nick Sirianni at
the podium chair. I got a chair? Can you get
a chure? He tailor? Are you good? All right? Fire away? Nick?

(24:23):
There seemed to be less RPO today as we've seen
in earlier in this season. Was there an emphasis during
the bye week to do more traditional drop backs? Uh? No,
because RPOs have been pretty good for us. RPO has
got to think that we're we're looking to run the
ball first on RPO. So when we do pass, it's
an extra pass that happens. Um, but we're looking to
run at first there. So but no, we we uh,
we definitely we worked hard in the bye week. I'm

(24:44):
really happy for our coaches of how much time they
put in and how much you know, information we got done.
Like and it was a it's a group effort, right
and so analytics department giving us a lot of different things, uh,
defensive coaches looking at things for the offense and vice versa. Um.
So um, we found like we fixed some tendencies. We
were able to get a couple of things off of
some tendencies and create some explosive plays off some tendencies

(25:06):
that we had. Um. And that's what the bye weeks for.
It's in a very very important part of the process.
All right, see you guys later. Games like that from A. J.
Brown before, you know, I sure have it when I
was in Indianapolis and he is having him on our defense.
So yeah, I've seen that. I've seen that before. Was
this any different or more special? Immunity was his biggest game? Yeah, Yeah,

(25:27):
that was a big, big time game. It was special
because I was on the same sideline with him, right. Uh,
And you know, just so much credit to Howie and
his staff to get that done and um Man because
he makes he makes us so much better. He's just
doing a great job. Jalen and him had an instant
can have an instant connection on the field. We know
they had the connection off the field, and he had
a big time game for us today and it was

(25:49):
good to see that adj Mener on his first touchdown
he wasn't the primary read. What was that play supposed
to look? First touch? Gosh? Oh um you know there
there we had a couple of different things going on there.
Uh we felt like um manka was a little low
on the play and j and Jalen took advantage of that.
And uh so there was was whether he was the
primary or not. Jalen did a good job of getting

(26:11):
through his read and finding uh you know, finding it
for a touchdown. And said that Jalen is still in
the lab becoming the player that he can be. How
close to the teams I think I think that's been
asked to me before and what I've answered with that
is that we don't know. Jalen's just the type of
guy that's going to continue to get better. Um because

(26:31):
you know, the type of person he has, the type
of football IQ he has, the type of football character
he has all you know, the toughness that he has,
how much he loves football right Uh, and he's just
gonna keep keep extending. You know, I've all I was
always taught those are the types of guys that reached
their their ceiling. And I don't know if we know
what what a ceiling is going to be. I know this,
I know he's getting better every day and he's he's

(26:51):
committed that. And that's a good thing for the rest
of your team when you're when your best players and
your captain's getting better every day, especially fired up on
the I mean obviously you're pried up a lot of night,
especially till in the Zach Pascal touchdown there that fake
scream to God or um what each either. I love
Zach Pascal, Um. You know, UM, he Zach Pascal for

(27:14):
the five years or the four years I've been with him.
UM has always done the dirty work, always UM. And
it's great when you can reward a guy that does
the dirty work, who might not have the stats, um,
but that you know, it's it's awesome to be able
to reward him for that. And and that's what happens
sometimes when a guy's doing dirty work, everyone's focused on
the other guys. When he's doing the dirty work that

(27:36):
he ends up wide for touchdown. So you know, Zack
doing all those little things, all the little things that
are important to a football team. Um, that's sweet, right,
And I loved it. I love to see that because
I love the guy. Um, you don't you're around a
guy for that long and not and not have a
good relationship with him. And I'm so glad he's here. Um,
I knew he could do all the dirty work we

(27:57):
wanted him to do, and man, it was that was
that was sweet. Um. You know, I think even I think,
even to this day, to this day, my son and
maybe not you, but is that's one of his favorite players,
is Zach Pascal. Because I think what happens is just
the same thing that happened when I would go home
and hear my dad talk about the guys that he

(28:17):
loved on his football team or his track team. You know,
my son's heard you know, he's a little too young, Taylor,
Taylor's a little too young, But they've heard me say
so many things good about Zach Pascal. It's is one
of his favorite, you know, favorite guys out there, so um, yeah,
it was awesome to get him to reward him for
all the hard work that he's done. Even with all
these wins, everyone seems to be emphasizing that you haven't

(28:39):
played a complete game yet. What would a complete game look?
Game look like? In your eyes? I thought we had
a good first dance second half today. I do that's
a good I think that's a I think that's a
good to make him. I think that's a good football team.
I know that's the extremely well coached football team. I
can't say enough good things that heyl stuff that don't

(29:01):
do that anymore. But I can't say enough good things
about coach Tomlin. I mean his resume speaks for himself
that that's a really good team. And I think we
played a pretty complete game and we needed to today
to be able to close that out. We really wanted
to emphasize how we start the second half. You know,
we have had some second half woes and we we
really traced it back to how we started second half

(29:21):
and it was good to be able to go down
and execute today. Um to start things off to set
the tone um that we needed to play a good,
a complete game, and I thought I thought we did that.
I thought we did a good job of that today
and it and it changes you go. You go up
three scores and you're at the end of of course
you're going to take some air out of that and
not be quite as aggressive and run the clock. And
so I thought today was was one of our most

(29:43):
complete games that we've had all year. Was there's something
you guys did during the bye week in terms of
something you found about the team that you've got showed
itself to that. Yeah, there was a lot um I
really do like without getting obviously, and I can give
you all the all the answers, but I think we
we we did a lot and the players went out
and executed, uh you know. We It's such an important
part of the process. The bye week is such an
important part of the process. You And it's not just

(30:05):
the coaches that that it's going into Taylor, babystop. Okay,
it's not just the coaches. It's it's the entire building, right,
It's the analytics department, it's the strength and conditioning staff
of how we're going to finish better in the second
half that you know, we had our ideas of how
we wanted to start the second half better, but the
strength and conditioning staff and the training staff and the
doctors also had you know, Uh, I don't, I don't.

(30:26):
I'm not smart enough to say the word that the
how the body works there going into the second half.
And we'll do anything we can to make this team better.
And h and just a credit obviously all the credit
goes to the guys, but so many parts of this organization.
Mister Lori is you know, the head of this organization,
and he and he is always he supports us in

(30:46):
everything and uh in all departments and and then you
see something like that after a bye week and all
the hands on deck. Um, that's why it's the greatest
team game, because it's not just the coaches and players.
It's the front office, it's the analytics department, it's the
equipment staff with with Greg all right, it's Tom in
the security right, it's it's it's everybody. It's Ted in
his his strength and conditioning staff, it's Tom all right

(31:07):
in the in the U, in the training staff, and
I'm Pat Dolan and the video staff. It's every we
asked fat doling for everything and how many different things
can you give us in cut ups? And so uh yeah,
I can't say enough good things about the organization Jalon's development.
What does it say about weird dsers quarterback that he
can have this type of game with wod rushing the
whole plus laughs them. Uh, you know, it's it's It

(31:31):
says a lot. I mean, because you want to be
able to win many different ways. And he went out
there and he uh he executed, baby don't all right?
He executed today um and um, you know in the
air um and through some great deep balls and and
read the defense well. And he just continues to develop.
One of the meetings, Uh, you wouldn't mention a couple

(31:53):
of six and over team seven and one whatever coming
out against teams that weren't doing as well and kind
of lay today. What does it show you about your
team that they came off to buy in that type
of situation. We got great We got great leaders, right John,
We got great leaders that are um that are making sure.

(32:14):
I don't know who wrote who wrote it earlier today,
but I got the thing on my update on my
phone was like Robert Quinn uh fletch went right up
to him and said, hey, we practice hard here, And
Robert Quinn said, that's all I needed to hear. How
awesome is that? Right? The best teams that I've been
around practice hard and uh and and that's and they
just they picked up the process of what they we've
done each and every week, and they just picked it up.

(32:35):
They got their rest, but then they came back ready
to go. And that doesn't happen unless you have great
people on your team and you have great leadership under team.
We're gonna go, Chris and that John, Yeah, we have
a guy like a j grout number one quarterback has
that how much does you know? You know what helped quarterback?
But what is all to do for the rest of
the receivers so that we get open? That's basically my
old Zack pass. Yeah, help, Well, when you have a

(32:58):
j when you have Devonte, when you have Dallas, Like
all the attention was on Dallas on that play on
Zach's touchdown, right, and so you got these playmakers and
then you got guys making plays off of them because
of the attentions on them. And and that doesn't just
go It also goes for the run game as well,
and you know, we felt like the way the game
played today, we didn't run it as quite as much

(33:19):
as we normally do, and it was great to be
able to win that way. And uh, but Aja opens up,
Davante opens up, and so does Dallas opens up the
run game as well. John, I think you mentioned jayalas development.
They're just wondering what you've seen from him in that department,
probably you know, the play game things that go to
Welton now when you guys are just cruising, how he's
handled that development also, especially the pressure, but I would

(33:42):
imagine goes when playing that position in the city. Yeah,
j Jalen is ultra focused and he's focused on the
process and how he gets better every day. And he's
not focused on what his next contract might be, or
what what we're gonna do in three weeks, or what
the outcome of this season is or or anything like that.
All he's focused on is day by day and he

(34:04):
and he's in a leader of our team. That's huge,
right because then everybody falls falls with that, and so
he's just it says if he had grown up in
a football household and he knows what to do and
he knows how to handle the waves of a season,
because there are waves of the season, but it's important
that we don't ride that those waves, right, And I
know you guys got you guys got a job, a

(34:25):
really hard job that you gotta feel like and you
got you got a whole week into well four days
today where when we play next you there's got to
be a lot of stories, so there can be a
lot of d riding of the wave. But Jalen doesn't
allow himself to do that. And and I'm done answering
your question unless I did I answer that, And I
just wanted to say, like, unbelievable. I've been to I've
been to stadiums where Steeler fans take over, but no

(34:47):
way did I think that would ever happen in Philadelphia.
And I barely saw any of now I could, I
barely saw any of those terrible towels. I didn't see
any any of those Our fans came out and supported us.
It was unbelievable. But um my, uh my mom's cousin,
I'm not even I'm not even claiming them. And they
didn't sit in our sections. They just live in Philly

(35:08):
and they grew up in Pittsburgh. You guys saw something.
My parents grew up in Pittsburgh and everything like that,
And and my mom's cousin and she's like, hey, they
want to say hello to you before the game. I'm like, well,
they know they can't wear steels stuff. And coming out
of silence, she's like, well, we're not giving them on
the sideline and they were wearing they were wearing Steelers gear.
So I just the cute Christmas cards with this one
and this one and my other son. They will not

(35:29):
be receiving one of those cute Christmas cards this week,
but so much of a shout out to our fans
of coming out, not giving like just this Philly, this
is Philly, this is what Philly's, what makes Philly is
one of the best, the best sports town in America.
It's freaking awesome. Right. We've taken over stadiums in Arizona,
they took over a stadium in Washington. And then like

(35:52):
when a team that like Pittsburgh travels, well, no traveling
here because none of our guys, none of our our people,
gave up tickets. And then my mom, my mom's and
I'm not claiming they won't get a Christmas card. He coach,
we got one. Yeah, here is with us today. She's
a more more flag Football League participants sheet. A question
for yeah, so would be more like quick turnaround for

(36:15):
next week? Thirty applayment action. What do you hope to
emphasize with the team history. Well, well, it's all about recovery.
And those guys are in there right now because we
just have such an unbelievable training staff of strength staff,
um uh, training, the trainers and the doctors. They're in
there getting massages right now, eating the right thing. So
it's that quick turnaround is you know, what are we

(36:36):
going to do to make sure that our bodies are
ready to go? Um you know, coaches have a short,
short turnaround as well. We got to make sure that
we uh, you know, get the plan together for for
our guys, that you know that on a short week,
and that our guys can go and go out and execute.
So great question, Thanks Nia. Next, All right, guys, thanks,
we're out. It's a family affair except for Aunt Susie

(37:01):
in Pittsburgh. It's not a good day for her. No,
it's very filly. Now you don't ride with him. You're
done right either. You're all in or you're all as
we know for Lane Johnson with us, how boy fan
relatives doesn't fly here? Love it well. He was asked
a little bit about Jalen Hurts, and we know Jalen
Hurts in the way that he described him as he
doesn't ride the waves. He doesn't get honestly, he doesn't

(37:24):
get anywhere down the road. He doesn't look anywhere past
what he's doing right now in this moment. But you
have to kind of look back and look at where
he's come up until this point. And today he surpassed
Carson Wentz and Donovan McNabb for the longest active wind Street.
He's at ten straight regular season games now as a starter,
which is very impressive. But when you think about what

(37:45):
he's been able to do and the journey he has
been on to see him throw four touchdown passes today,
it's kind of remarkable. I continue to be amazed about
his kid and his growth at the quarterback position almost
night and day. From what you saw last year and
even the short period he played in his rookie season.
He looks like a polished NFL quarterback right there right now.
He's confident, he knows where he wants to go with

(38:05):
the ball. You know, I'll watch him on those deep
throws to aj the second touchdown, in the third touchdown,
when he gets to that back foot, he lets the
ball go. He knows exactly where he wants to go
with it. He sees that man and man coverage out there,
and he says that safety is not going to be
able to get over there in time. That's Mica Fitzpatrick
back there, and that's an arguably one of the best
safeties in the game today. So to be able to

(38:28):
get those throws over the top with number thirty nine
hanging back there, that's just let you know where Jalen
hurts is that. I don't know if he attempts those
throws last year, because I know he's mindful not putting
the ball in harm's way. But when you watch those
touchdown passes, that looks like a quarterback to me that
has all the confidence in his arm and his ability
and more importantly in the guy that he's throwing the

(38:50):
ball to giving him an opportunity to make a play.
Those weren't easy throws over the shoulder, tight window. That
was good coverage that they had on a J. Brown.
It was just a better throw it just browsing through
just some of my notes real quick. Four of those
touchdowns that he threw today, right, he threw four passing touchdowns.
Three of those touchdowns came on plays after there was

(39:10):
a negative or no game the previous play. So when
Nick Sirianni talks about he's not a guy that rides
the wave, he's not going to be like this off
the field. Yeah, absolutely true. On the field, that's the
same way with Jalen. Look, it was not always pretty.
It was a really good stat line today. Not all
of those passes were beautiful, not all. You know, some
of those sacks were tough sacks to take. But Jalen
Hurts is unflappable if he has fights through adversity, so

(39:32):
so well continues to be one of the most impressive
traits about what he brings to this team was tight end.
Just talk to him reporters in the locker room. Here's
what he had to say about Jalen Hurts's development him
all along. You know, there was a lot of stuff
in the air if Jalen was going to be the guy,
But everybody in the building knew he was the guy.

(39:53):
He was going to be the guy. That was never
a question in any of our minds. And you know,
throwing with him all offseason, he just he was swinging
out of things, zipping it, you know, and then you
start camping. He starts making checks, making reads, throws on time,
goes through his progression. It's the open guy. It's fun
to see, it's fun to play with. When you got
a quarterback there can deal it like you guys, I

(40:14):
wasn't any question now. Jalen Hurts also through the Dallas
Goddard six times today. Earlier Sirianni said, you know, you
might not have seen him scoring touchdown today, but he
is such an impact player on this offense. He was
still making plays and he's such a big reason as
to why this offense rolls. Here's like two straight games
where you don't realize that Dallas Goddard had a pretty

(40:35):
good game down throw on the field. Obviously, aj is
catching the touchdown passes, but Dallas being able to extend
drives key third down catches. And I still love to
see him with the ball in his hand after he
catches the ball because you rarely bring him down with
one defender. He's a strong runner, he's a smart runner,
and the fact that he's a huge target for Jalen

(40:56):
that gives him all the confidence to be able to
put that ball anywhere and Dallas will come up with it. Yeah, Ellie,
you mentioned he was targeted six times. He caught all
six of those targets, and not all of them were
like easy little screen passes either. A couple of them
were intermediate, like those sail routes along the sideline. He
saw the one hander behind them on the shallow cross.
So Dallas godd are continuing to make some of those
really impressive tough catches at all areas of the field.

(41:18):
If you told me when twenty twenty one ended that
this Eagles team would only rush for twenty three yards
in the first half, I would not believe you, because
last year that was the bread and butter. They were
just running the ball down their throats. Twenty three yards
on the ground in the first half. They ended the
day with over one hundred. But the way that they're
able to adjust, you know, it was tough to get
the ball going in the first half, but they also
didn't need to because they were so successful in throwing

(41:39):
the ball down the field. I just think it's so
interesting to see the leap that this offense is made
from last year to this year. Yeah. I mean, they're
not a one dimensional offense, and they can throw the ball.
If you want to load the box to try to
stop the run, then they're gonna throw the ball on
the outside when there's one on one covers there. And
then if you want to play a two high safety
to keep the ball from going over your head, that's
a lightbox. They're going to run the football, and that's

(42:00):
what they did. When they came out at halftime. They
realized Pitchburgh said, okay, we got to start giving a
little help over the top to some of these guys,
and Miles Sanders was able to break off some big
runs there. What did that do? That opened up the
play action pass for the offense. So I'm not concerned
about the running game. Sometimes you think, okay, did we
forget we can run the football, But then you have
to realize, no, this is what the deepness is dictating

(42:22):
that we do. And they threw the ball with so
much success it forced Pitchburg to come out of that
defense they were in and then we were able to
run the ball in the second half. Yeah, only thirty
one snaps in the first half from this Eagle's offense,
and we talked about it on the Kickoff Show. The
secondary for Pittsburgh, they've been banged up throughout the year.
I thought that they were really good at the catchpoint,
but they gave up a lot of separation and we

(42:42):
saw that in this game. They gave up a bunch
of explosive plays coming in. Well, they gave up a
bunch of explosive plays going out here. In Week eight,
we have another question for Ike. Let's see what the
fans have to say and or ask Ike sayment think
Robert Quinn will fit into this defensive scheme moving forward
close to a few sacks in the fourth quarter. I
think Robert Quinn is gonna fit in here very nicely.

(43:04):
We're talking about a guy that has over a hundred
sacks in his career. He can come, he can roll
out of bed and rush the passer. It's just about
getting familiar with the defensive schemes, what's his responsibility in
those games, and then accepting his role. He understands he's
coming to a good deepense. We have a defensive line
where we rotate, so he may not play as many
snaps as he was playing out there in Chicago. But

(43:24):
he's gonna benefit from being fresher throughout the game and
he can rush the passer. Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised
if he does get if he doesn't get his first
Eagle sack this next game, because he was close on
a couple of those today. Yeah, there are a number
of flags in this game. The couple that could have
been some offensive holding on some of those pass rushers.
The Eagles could have had more than six sacks in
this game. But Robert Quinn, he can get off the ball.

(43:45):
We saw that first step, the first step a number
of times today. Well if you're a vet though, so
this situation where it is a rotation may actually end
up working in his favor. Give his legs a little
bit of a break so he can really still play
to his high stability. I really believe it will. I mean,
this guy, he had eighteen and a half sacks last year.
He didn't even get how to rush the passer. Yeah,
one year he's playing out there in Chicago. No disrespect
to Chicago, but he's probably the best guy on their

(44:06):
deepest line. Khalil Mack isn't there anymore, So you get
a lot of offenses that are going to focus their
blocking schemes on him. I think he was either the
second or third highest rush and to be a double
team this season. That's how that's how much double team.
And he was getting out there in Chicago. You're not
gonna be able to do that here because Hassan Reddick
is out there, So you have to focus on where
he's at. I think Robert Quinn is gonna love playing

(44:28):
his defense because now he has playmakers all around him
and it's going to allow him to be the best
that he can be. Yeah, you talk about a guy
that can get the football on the ground as well
get the ball back for his offense. Seven forced fumbles
a couple of years ago. All Right, we have the
quarterback himself, Jalen Hurts at the podium. We pushed out
passing a quarter red zone, double coverage, perfect strike. Teach

(44:54):
what you're next. Cloud of Zoe wasn't like U you know,
I don't know. I guess I wasn't the zone. I
feel like I could have done more, feel like, uh,
you know, you look at the third quarter. I think
there was an opportunity to make some plays. Um had
some negative plays there. I think two minute drive before

(45:18):
half time took some sacks and I feel like I
could have avoid it, probably could have got the ball out, Um.
And then we kind of kind of started off hitting
something low, you know, And so a testment to the
to the receivers. We have the protection we had all day, Um,
and you know we were on waivering, you know what
I'm saying. And I think we just kind of kept

(45:39):
focused to playing to the standard and chasing that, you
know what I mean. And hell of a game by aj.
You know, he's making big time plays. I know you're
wanting something back for sure, UM, but hell of a
game by him. Can you break down how much you're
improved this year? Is you and more people to get better? Yea?
How much of the guys rounding with you, guys around

(46:02):
you've got better or guys you had. It's hard for
me to really talk about myself and that in that standpoint, Um,
people don't see the work that's put in not just
by me individually, but by a j by Smitty Um
by Dallas guarded by Jason Kelsey, you know, by our
miles by Um Nick Sirianni by everybody. You know, it

(46:24):
takes work, and it's a grind. And the beautiful thing
about this team is we've grinded together. We've had OTAs,
we've had training camp, we bonded, we we put it in,
put in so much valuable time together to chase this
feeling of achievement and chase this feeling of you know,

(46:45):
going out there and playing at the hot level. So
not I tell you, after after every game, I feel
like there's there's always much more out there for us
to do. You know. Obviously we have a short week
this week, so it's a different mentality as well. But
it's a testament to the work we put in as
a team. You know, it's no man is an island.
You gotta draw your strength from others. And you know,

(47:08):
when a guy may miss a throw low, or guy
may miss a miss a pass or miss a block
or whatever, we got each other back. We got each
other's back. Um, what's what's that life? And I ball
up to him and having to come down with interest
at the time. I have a lot of trust in Aja,
have a lot of trust in him. I think that's

(47:29):
a lot of the reason why he's here. Um. And
you know, we've We've always had a great relationship, and
I think it's been beautiful to see how it's unfolded
throughout the year. How that, you know, personally for him
and I and also us on the field. You know,
I've always had a lot of admiration for his mentality,
his want to and he's been doing great things for us.

(47:53):
I'm proud of him as a friend and as a quarterback.
Whatever you do, you gotta do something before is that
headway or just where you were that way. I call
him formative experiences, call him formative experiences. I think I've
endured a lot. I think I've been fortunate to go
through things that have built character and me. They have

(48:15):
made me a stronger individual, stronger man, and it's allowed
me to understand the points of competition, the importance of
seeing something through, and the importance of working for what
you want. And I'm just always prided myself on that.
And that's something that I saw my dad do as
a kid. I saw how he handled being a coach.
I saw how he uplifted the people around him, how

(48:37):
he was a service to the kids, high school kids.
I saw my mom did it, I saw everybody did it.
And I was just always trying to learn from the
people around me the work that goes into a jail.
And when we were talking to h he kind of
you don't wanted to bring up the place he didn't
make anyfore he talked about the place he did. You're
the same way. It does. It take work to do

(48:59):
that to get that find set. But it seems that
a lot of players have on this steam. Now. I
don't think it takes work. I think you either have
it or you don't. I think the great players are
eager to be the best and be the best all
the time. And when you look at the opportunities that
you didn't take advantage of, you know, like you can
go out there and you'll have a statistically perfect game,

(49:22):
catch every ball or do everything, but there's always something.
There's always something and enough is never enough, and we
just strive for that. We strive for you know, we
strive for something that we may never get, but we
continue to go chase it said that first touchdown. It
wasn't supposed to content designed that play work. When we

(49:46):
said that play year, you have to be were it
all ties to wall might be coming to Yeah, that's
one thing I try and tell all the receivers is
you know, although the balls is not supposed to go
to you, be aware because I may see something on
the field that man enticed me to make that throat
to him. So I always encouraged them to be ready

(50:07):
at all times and run every route to win. And
he did a great job today being ready in a
couple of different situations and we made some big time players.
I'm proud of him. It's mean for you to go
home down the teams, you know, seven and old you're
playing like this, or your friends and family going to
get to see him. What is that going to be like?
I think, um going back, going back home and playing

(50:30):
in Houston. It's always been a dream of mine and
I never had the opportunity to go playing and reliant
as a kid now known as NRG, I spent a
lot of time in the Houston Texas Facility, Houston Texas Facility,
my godfather being on staff as a child, and I
have a lot of memories at that place. So it'll
be it'll be exciting, and I think we've definitely transitioned

(50:54):
fairly quickly. You know, we talked about having a twenty
four hour rule and you know, enjoyed for twenty four
hours where and we ain't got we ain't got that
much time having a Thursday night game. So I think
the team is going to enjoy it for I gave
him like eight o'clock to night or so after after
they eat dinner or something like that. But um, come
back tomorrow when we go, when we go to the

(51:14):
facility and re lock in and and attacked upon it,
that's in front of us. I'm not sure, it seems
for two years when we've asked you about the passing game,
you've spoken about efficiency and consistency to have this type
of performance where you I think you run the VA
only twice. What is I'm that to say about your

(51:36):
development as a pastor? Yeah, I think I think it's
bigger than just the overall development of one part of
my game. Think it's about being able to be a
threat in many different ways. And that's something that a
guy like me, I have the ability to do that naturally,

(51:56):
being able to run and you know, we talk about
doing that that I like to call it a triple threat.
You know, you have to you know, be able to
kill them with your legs at times and make the
throws when you need to in the passing game and
killing what you killing them with, killing them with your
mind and what you what you see and how you react,
you know, because you get into a point where you

(52:18):
get different looks and they try to get you, but
you just want to try and be ready for all
of those looks and have an answer for it. Um.
And that's that testament to the preparation, to the to
the people that have around me, and you know, it's
just it's just an uphill climb. That's what we always
talk about. It's an uphill climb. So that's that's what
it is, you know what I mean. And I honestly

(52:40):
feel like there is no arrival. There is no arrival.
You will never get to a point where you say
I've arrived. There is no arrival. There's only the journey.
And I've embraced that journey and I'll continue to do
that and take it day by day and just try
and climb. Say more your arm or you're buying It
was everything. It was every thing. It was the whole

(53:00):
trip of threat, you know. And I think it's attestment
to the preparation. Like I said, Um, the guys around
me AJ making big time plays that coming in and
making big time plays well deserved. Um, it's it's, it's,
it's it's important, you know, the preparation. How good is
it go to have guys like you know, like AJ
and people like I mean the DeVante Smith and and

(53:24):
Dallas Got or how comforting him that that you can
go to any one of those guys and also get
other guys involved. Yeah, when when you're on the high
Street like everyfore, you know, it's I have far with
it because I've seen all of these guys do amazing things.
I've seen DeVante Smith do crazy things in college. I've
seen AJ as a friend, as a fan take slants seventy.

(53:49):
You know, I've seen Dallas got To make the craziest
catches in the game and in practice. Um So when
I see him make those plays in the game or better, Yeah,
when I'm playing with him in the game, I'm like,
I got my popcorn radio. After I throw them the ball,
I don't want to make sure I'll do my job
to getting from the ball and then I can I
can be a fan and kind of watch them go
to work. I mean, I think that's just a testament
to them you know, and I think for us, you know,

(54:13):
it looks differently by the day, but we always prepare together,
and we always going to the field going to a
game trying to be on the same page. And I
think that's allowed us to be productive and we just
want to continue to building it. Okay, thanks guys. Thanks,
that was Jalen Hurds diving into the offense. But earlier today, friends,

(54:36):
if you broke down the big sack, Hassan Reddick set
the tone with in the first quarter. So here's his
Rereaco review. All right, so this week here on the
Reco Review, want to rewind all the way back to
the first third down of the game for this Eagles defense,
third and long. What does this defense look like coming
out of the bye week. Well, they run a really
creative stunt on third down. Now, the Eagles coming into

(54:57):
this game had run less stunts than anybody in the NFL,
and so adding this wrinkle to the pressure scheme impressive
to see from Jonathan Gannett and this Eagles defensive coaching staff.
What you're gonna get is a unique alignment. This sack
is gonna come from Hassan Reddick, who has lined up
inside over the left guard. Now, let's just take a
look at the alignment of everybody else here. At right

(55:18):
defensive end, you've got Josh Sweat in his normal spot,
but everyone else has some creative alignments. Here. You've got
Hassan Reddick over the guard, You've got Javon Hargrave over
the center. Here, you've got Brandon Graham, and all the
way out of defensive end, you've got Fletcher Cox. So
right now, alarm bells are going off in the heads
of every single Pittsburgh Steeler involved with the protection scheme.

(55:39):
We're gonna let this run for a second, and let's
just take a look at the stunt the Eagles run.
This is a three man game, often referred to as
a pirate stunt, where you've got the two defensive lineman
inside they're slanting, and then you're gonna get the looping
rush from Hassan Reddick coming all the way around. When
you have these three man stunts, that's tough to pick
up as an offensive nan. And you could tell this

(56:01):
right guard he has no idea that Hassan Reddick is
looping all the way around here, and he's going to
close in on the rookie quarterback Kenny Pickett. We can
let this run and you can really see the athleticism
from Hassan Reddick I really put on display. He turns
that corner. Josh Sweat was right there as well to
combine for the sack. But a creative rush there from
the Eagles defensive line, all the different alignments you get

(56:23):
the three man stunt. They get home for a sack
on the first third down of the game. Now is
your chance to vote for the Toyota Player of the Week.
Go to Philadelphia Eagles dot com slash Toyota Player of
the Week to cast your vote and get a chance
at a brand new Toyota. All right, three nominees, here
we go. Number one Surprise Surprise eight Jay Brown six receptions,

(56:45):
one hundred and fifty six yards, three touchdowns. Look at
that yards after the catch, all right. Next up, Javon
Hargrave against his former team. This was a striped sack
that Avonte Maddox recovered and it later resulted in a
Miles Sanders touchdown. But not least Jalen Hurts. You gotta
give it to the quarterback. Two hundred and eighty five
passing yards and four touchdowns through the air. What do

(57:07):
we think, guys, Well, we're not going defense today, es,
I'm going Jalen Hurts. I mean, I'm a J. Brown
had a big day, but I think Jalen Hurts with
the type of throws that he made, I was in
press tight windows over the shoulder. Yeah, Jalen Hurts was
almost flawless today. Yeah, fifteen years since we've seen an
Eagles receiver do what AJ Brown did today with over
one hundred and fifty yards and three touchdowns. I'm gonna

(57:29):
go number eleven here. I'm gonna go a J. Brown
with the big day. All right, we'll get your votes
in now. You heard Jalen Hurts. You have about till
eight pm and then we're turning the page. It's onto
the Houston Texans. So for tonight's Jamison night cap, let's
look ahead to Thursday nights opponent, another night for prime
time for the Eagles. They are one four and one currently,
they sent fourth in the AFC South quarterback he's doing

(57:52):
all right, fifty percent completion rate, eleven yards right now
and an interception. What do we think about Thursday, guys,
short week? Yeah, obviously it's an interior opponent and as
long as the Eagles are preparing as if they're playing
an undefeated team, it shouldn't be a difficult match out
for him. But on a short week and on the road,

(58:13):
I would expect Houston to come out at least gamed
and ready to play. It's really about the Eagles from
this point on right not playing down to anybody else's level.
Seeing if these teams can play at that level. They're
the best in the league right now, so that's the
way they need to go. I think offensively, they've got
a couple of young playmakers there. Davis Mills actually playing
pretty well. I've been impressed with watching the second year quarterback,

(58:34):
former third round pick out of Stanford. He is really
cool and collected. He's making tough throws, he's accurate, he's
got a good arm. And then Damian Pierced, the rookie
running back, is running his tail off. He is really
fun to watch, really violent as a runner. Defensively, they've
got two more young playmakers there in Jalen Petrie, the safety,
the rookie second round pick, and Derek Stingley Junior, a
top five pick. Both guys playmakers in that secondary that

(58:56):
you've got to be aware of in Lovey Smith scheme.
And when you look at their schedules, interesting, I gotta
get through Thursday night, but then they'll have all for
the weekend and the following weekend because they don't play
until Monday night. So if they can have this quick
turnaround and not let this one, you know, get out
of their sight, they have a good stretch coming up
as well. Yeah, it's a good football team. Now, it's
just going to be whether or not they're planning to

(59:17):
their standard. You're the best team in the league. You
become the team that everybody circles on their calendar, not
as if it's going to be an easy win, but
they know you are the best team, so they don't
want to get embarrassed. They're typically gonna bring their gig.
They're good effort the end. But the Eagles, you look
at you live at the schedule right here, man, the
Eagles have a chance to run off a few more ws.

(59:38):
I Yeah, and look when you look at the injuries
and some of the teams coming up on the schedule here.
But again, it's gonna go back on what Nick Sirianni
Jalen hurts. The rest of this this this team has
preached and it's a it's every seventeen one game schedules.
It'll be big for this team moving forward. All right, Well,
that'll do it for us here on the postgame show,

(59:58):
Big night, Thursday night. Okay, I know we got the
Phillies coming up. Can the Phillies beat Houston? Can the
Eagles beat Houston? It's big week for Phillies sports fans.
But I'll do it for us myself, friend Duffie and
I Greece. Thank you so much for tuning into the
postgame show and go Birds.
