Speaker 1 (00:00):
You were listening to the Best of the Fan morning
show on ninety three five and one oh seven five
The Fan.
Speaker 2 (00:25):
You got anything plans, James outside of work? You leave
this afternoon, correct.
Speaker 3 (00:31):
Yes, I'll leave this afternoon. I land tomorrow morning in Berlin.
I think it's maybe three or four hours before practice
in Berlin for the Colts, So I'll see how the
body feels when I'm out there for that. But Saturday
is wide open, nothing work obligated. I know last time
I was over there, pretty much went to all the
(00:54):
touristy spots and all the NFL activations that they have
a little pop up things that they've kind of put
there to promote the game, and that's usually pretty fun.
Random some cult workers actually, and when I was out
there last time, so maybe I'll see some mothers when
I'm there, and I do. I have the documentary crewmember.
Those guys came in two weeks ago, German hard knocks. Yeah,
they want to get an interview in over there as
(01:16):
well and get my perspective on how the international game
feels from boots on the ground. So I'll do some
things with them Saturday, and then Sunday is the game
and I feel like it's the longest game day ever
because the bus that takes you from the media hotel
to the actual stadium leaves it very very early. I
want to say, it might be like four hours for
(01:36):
kick and I think it's just because everyone wants to
take in the scene and you know, make sure that
we have plenty of time to get to our seats
and soak in what is very unique experience. So you
know me, sometimes I'll roll up to the game and
it might be twenty minutes for kickoff, especially if it's
a home game here in Indianapolis, whereas overseas very very
early in a long day.
Speaker 2 (01:55):
But it should be a fun day, so I'm looking
forward to it.
Speaker 3 (01:57):
Last time I was over there, Kevin, I honestly say
the vit it was cool, and it was honestly very
refreshing to have sort of like this gratitude to just
be able to watch a game and you see so
many different jerseys, and that's like about one time where
I'm like, I'm not judging you if you're wearing any
team's jersey, because for most of these people, this is
the first and perhaps only NFL game they will ever
(02:18):
see in person, so it was very cool to experience.
Speaker 2 (02:20):
That again, first ever game in Berlin. It is, if
I'm not mistaken, the thirty thirty something, I'm gonna say
thirty six, thirty six year anniversary of the fall of
the Berlin Wall. So I think there will be some
acknowledgment about that. Yeah, you know, when you think about
that stadium, obviously, Jesse Owens and the Olympics is one
of the more historical moments frankly in sports. Yeah, so
(02:43):
it is a very old stadium. So yeah, I've again it.
I understand there are some Colts fans that probably like,
wait a minute, they took away a home game for that,
But you know, I think when you go over there
and you're able to see just the sheer joy that
those fans have, it is a pretty moment there. So
just remind everybody it's a nine to thirty local kick
(03:03):
for us here in the States. We'll have you covered
on our airwaves. A Fox fifty nine will pick it
up locally. NFL network is where it airs from a
national standpoint. Cult to leave tonight eight o'clock tonight, melowtoning
up on the flight and they'll have a walk through
coming up tomorrow.
Speaker 3 (03:19):
One more quick thing I'll say about the whole experience
is when I went over there last time, I had
a chance to go to like a museum for Frankfurt,
so learn about the history is actually really cool. I
appreciate a kind of the perspective that you gain from
things that happened years ago to still of an impact
on the way the country is set up, or politics
or whatever the case may be. So that was a
(03:41):
unique experience for me previously, and I'm hoping if I
get some free time to maybe hit another museum.
Speaker 2 (03:46):
Big museum guy. Whenever I'm in a place that I'm
not familiar with, ventro over to another country and red
light district. Maybe Mark is at the museum. You would recommend.
That's a heavily endorsed one there from markets reminded me
that I.
Speaker 3 (03:59):
Got to make sure all of the German uber apps
are working. They do not use uber over in Germany much.
It's called free now oh, which is basically the same thing.
But yeah, I would never drive in a foreign country.
People are asking, well, you got a rental cart, and no,
they're driving the same side of the road that we do.
Speaker 2 (04:14):
But I still wouldn't do it. Should I have known
Ice Spice?
Speaker 4 (04:18):
Yes, No, I think you should have. You're in the demographic.
Speaker 2 (04:23):
So we're at dinner last night and Mattie Bowen looks
at me and goes, Ice Spice, his boyfriend plays for
the Colts. You knew her?
Speaker 5 (04:35):
Mark? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (04:35):
Really?
Speaker 1 (04:37):
Gosh?
Speaker 2 (04:37):
Am I getting that old? Am I that much?
Speaker 5 (04:39):
Old?
Speaker 6 (04:39):
God?
Speaker 4 (04:39):
James, you know who Ice Spice is to me?
Speaker 3 (04:43):
But I don't think that necessarily It's not like he's
gonna listen to Ice Spice's music.
Speaker 2 (04:47):
But also I don't know if I'm Do you appreciate
that way her because of her music? She's just very beautiful?
Do you appreciate that? That's how she referenced Sauce Gardener.
I do appreciate that so locked in, Yeah, I got
Sauce Gardener was a very famous girlfriend. Is that the
best way to put it? Yes?
Speaker 3 (05:03):
She is very famous, at least among my demographic. I
don't know, you're you're you know demographic with the Canes
and Ben Gay. I don't know if they know why Spic?
I mean, Mark would had me covered there. Maddie followed up,
but she will break up with him eventually. There's no
way she's moving to Indy. So there's the.
Speaker 2 (05:21):
From Maddy bet against os Gardner full participant yesterday in
practice as a family ice spice coming over and helping
with a new baby. Uh, if he clears concussion protocol,
which is the expectation he will play coming up on Sunday,
I want to play the Sire Franklin clip. And you know,
it was a reminder James and I think I forget
(05:42):
this at times, and specifically the wide receivers I think
all individually touched on this yesterday, especially when you look
at where Sauce Gardner's locker was in the colts locker room.
He took Adie Mitchell's locker, and I believe I saw
the Jets writer say Adie Mitchell took Sauce Gardner's locker,
Like you know, it's just one of these weird things
where you know, usually the defensive guys are one side
of the room, the offensive guys are on the other.
(06:03):
In Sauce and by the way, that notebook he had
to his locker looked very detailed from from notes. But
you know, there was another player that got traded, and
I think I kind of forget that. I kind of
lose you know, sight of that, and by all accounts,
I think Gaty Mitchell was a player that his teammates
liked a lot, and you know he he worked hard
and everything. So this is Hire Franklin's insight yesterday describing
(06:26):
exactly what happened from a player in the locker room
trade deadline.
Speaker 7 (06:30):
You're looking at your phone, you see, you know, sauiz
Gard and traded to the coat. You know, immediately he
turned up. But then at the back game money like
hold on, I got to see what the details is.
You got to see what was good enough.
Speaker 1 (06:42):
He was good.
Speaker 7 (06:44):
And you know, on one hand, like you said, excuse me,
you know what that means.
Speaker 5 (06:48):
So you're getting a player like him for the defense.
Speaker 7 (06:50):
But at the same time, you know, you got to
feel it for a d understand where he's going from.
But you're also excited for him though you know he's
going to go with that opportunity. I know he deserves that.
He wants in a fresh start in the new city.
So you know that once I was able to talk
to him and how I let him.
Speaker 5 (07:03):
And see how you feel.
Speaker 2 (07:04):
He was in great experience about the whole situation.
Speaker 7 (07:06):
No hard feelings either, too, So I'm never was cool,
but you know, you immediately excited, but at the same time,
you know, you know you gotta get to work, you know.
So it's like, yeah, I was hyping. I had people
at my house and heard me yelling in my basement.
But the first time I did was regret my iPad
and stopped paring from Falcons because at the same time,
if I don't be my job, he can't do his job.
Speaker 1 (07:25):
Shocking.
Speaker 5 (07:25):
It's just one of those things for the work.
Speaker 1 (07:27):
Out to get with him.
Speaker 2 (07:28):
If Ady Mitchell doesn't drop the ball, is Ice Spice's
boyfriend here?
Speaker 3 (07:39):
I honestly think there's a good chance that it's still
the case because remember when we talked about this prior
to like the injuries, he still hadn't played all that much.
So if you're telling me he's a model citizen, doesn't
make the mistake in LA but he's still just playing
fifteen twenty snaps again, is that worth holding on to
(08:02):
when we're looking at the possibility of bringing in a
two time first team All Pro I would say, you
still pull the trigger on the deal.
Speaker 5 (08:08):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (08:08):
And the reason why I say that it sounds like
from the Jets side of it, the ad Mitchell inclusion
in the trade was kind of the difference was kind
of the all right, we can't say no to all
of what you're offering us, the two first round picks
being the cornerstone pieces of the trade. But then also
when you throw in that player. You know, one thing
(08:30):
I was kind of struck by yesterday. You know, Daniel
Jones is always kind of the first one to speak
on a Wednesday inside the Colts locker room, and Alec
Pierce spoke pretty quickly thereafter. We'll get some Alex Pierce audio.
He's very close with Sauce Gardner. The two appear to be,
you know, really good friends. Played together Cincinnati obviously wide
receiver corner relationship from in practice battles. Both enjoy each
(08:53):
other off the field, et cetera, et cetera. But before
we went over to Alec again, Daniel Jones was asked
about Sauce Gardner and I found myself just standing there
listening to Daniel Jones for a second, thinking the all
chips in, that's how you let off your piece. We've
played the Jim Mersey audio all chips in for the Colts.
(09:14):
For it to occur, it took two months of life
with Daniel Jones. Yeah, that's kind of freaking wild, is
it not?
Speaker 3 (09:23):
Absolutely? And he wouldn't go there, and I believe you
were maybe. I think it was Kent Sterling that really
pressed him on They give up two first round picks
which could have been used on quarterbacks, which basically says
you're gonna be here. And I have a piece coming
out late us today on that whole front and what
that means for Daniel Jones and possibly Anthony Richardson. But
that's reality. We're living in the Colts. Even after the
(09:48):
terrible game in Pittsburgh, that to me was sort of
your opportunity to keep the door cracked and say, oh,
if we don't want to like fully commit to this game,
we don't necessarily have to because wait, that old Daniel
Jones just popped back up and instead they just full
(10:09):
steam ahead and said, no, we believe that Daniel Jones
that we started with the first eight games is the
guy we want to hit our future too. Essentially, So
to me, it's not even a matter of if he'll
be around next season or in the future, it's how
franchise tag extension, what negotiations are you doing?
Speaker 2 (10:26):
I know he again, he would not go there.
Speaker 3 (10:29):
And to give Daniel some credit, he's been through a
lot in his career, so perhaps he really is telling
the truth when he's saying, Hey, I'm just trying to
make sure I can, you know, stay ready for the Falcons.
But there's a lot of trickle down effect from the
sauce gardener trade, and it starts with him.
Speaker 2 (10:44):
Like I never would have thought three months ago, let
alone three years ago, that I would sit here in
the studio and say, yeah, it took two months of
good football from Daniel Jones for the Colts to go
all in.
Speaker 3 (10:56):
Here's one for you that I was literally thinking of
yesterday and I was thinking to myself, this is crazy.
The man had five turnovers in a game his career high,
more than any game you ever had in New York.
And none of us went to the media room afterwards
and asked, is he just starting quarterback the next week?
Speaker 5 (11:15):
HM?
Speaker 2 (11:16):
Right, Yeah, it shows what he's done for the first
seven weeks. It's crazy, Yeah, it is. It is wild.
And you know, one thing on the Ballard front, and
we've had discussion a lot, Okay, what has changed from
Chris Ballard? You know here in twenty two pocketbook.
Speaker 3 (11:33):
Matter of fact, I need to be able to place
some a receiver or or play some cornerback of something,
so I can give me some coins.
Speaker 2 (11:37):
Like I'll go back to the start of the year.
What changed, all right? He admitted that his defensive approach
was wrong. Okay, no more Gus Bradley, Maddie Eberflus, a
little bit more simplified schemes. We need to be open
minded to doing things differently. You know how much influences
change Styken have in the hiring of Lou and Arimo.
I think a good amount, to be honest with you.
But still, I mean, they obviously wanted to change things
(11:58):
up from a defensive standpoint. Probably the biggest Ballad change
we've seen over the last eleven months was paying cam Ward,
paying Mooney Ward and paying Cameron buying them. That was
the biggest Oh my gosh, free agency. We're no longer
going to say, hey, I'm not giving whatever B players
A money, A players A plus money. No, We're going
(12:19):
to shop differently in free agency. That's probably the biggest
change from Ballard. And then specifically you go back to
the war deal, James, and you go back to all
the reports around this Sauce Gardner trade, I would say
one of the biggest things we've seen change from Chris Ballard.
He has been such a staunch probably could use the
word stubborn believer in we assign a value to U
(12:42):
as a player, and we don't waiver from it. Right
when it comes to our in house guys, Well, let
Deniko Autrey walk to the Tennessee Titans or out of
the building.
Speaker 5 (12:51):
Guys.
Speaker 3 (12:51):
It's the theory of we're not going to play the
B level player right A money to bring them in.
Speaker 2 (12:57):
But in the case of Mooney, Ward and Mooney share
the story in free agency, his hometown team, the New
Orleans Saints, is where he thought he was going. Yeah,
and the Colts came in and said, we've got to
sweeten the deal and get ahead of New Orleans if
this guy's gonna entertain us. And what do you think
that sweetening entailed. Well, I'd assume another zero, potentially a comma,
potentially whatever Sauce Gardner paid Josh Downs to get his
(13:19):
jersey number, So that applies to free agency. But then
let's look at this Gardner deal. By all accounts, the
New York Jets were not gonna say yes. If it
was just two first rounders, you throw an Ady Mitchell,
which is sweetening the deal. It is saying, hey, we
feel like internally sauce Gardeners were two first round picks.
Let's say the Cults are in their boardroom and that's
(13:40):
what they're saying, and then the Jets counter and say
all right, thanks, but no thanks. Old Chris Boward would
have said, all right, who's next on the list? Yeah,
But instead he sat there and said, you know what,
if we want a player like that, we're gonna have
to get you fleeced a little bit.
Speaker 3 (13:58):
We're gonna have to get a little like And I
do think it's a bit of an overpaced slightly, but
at the same time you look at the risk versus
the reward. The reward is if you do strike gold
with Saft, Guards.
Speaker 2 (14:09):
Ramsey and the Rams. There you go, yeah, that's the
thought there. So you know, I do think we have
seen ballad change here. In twenty twenty five. We'll get
to Mark Dyton. I got to know here coming up
in the eight o'clock hour. Anything lingering from Pacers last night,
I think it's fair to say it's a bad loss. Absolutely.
Speaker 3 (14:29):
I mean again, the only thing that's lingering for me
is turning on I follow like a lot of pages
that will show highlights from college programs where there's men's
or women's basketball, and every time the Pacers lose this year,
I go to one of those pages and go see
what one of those phenom freshmen are doing, and I'm like, hmm,
how would he look into the PACER's uniform?
Speaker 4 (14:48):
Because this is getting to that for me. Honestly, it's rough.
And when do you think it would get like that
for them?
Speaker 2 (14:54):
Internally? I think if you get to eight games in
eighty two, just to yeah, I think if you get to.
Speaker 3 (15:03):
Twenty five games into the year and you know about
twenty games will be about a fourth of the season,
you get to twenty games and you only got about
three or four wins, it's probably time to start thinking
like that and just to.
Speaker 2 (15:14):
Kind of throw that out there, which it I don't
think internally they're throwing out the white flag as early
as some other franchise as well, but we know it
will be. Topping's not playing unil at least game fifty.
He's out till February. Yeah, the trade deadlines are right
around there. That is obviously always a big pivot point,
So those are probably just something you know, again, how
(15:35):
long is that Hardy going to be out? How long
is Matheren? Those are the two big ones right now.
Mcconnells supposed to be reevaluated here. I think coming up
in the next handful of days. Right now, TJ. McConnell
would be beyond walcome addition to your team given point guards.
So twenty ish games, yeah, I'd probably go a little
further into the season than that, But the first really.
Speaker 3 (15:57):
I mean, if they go twenty games into the year
and they're three and seven towns, yeah, four and sixteen,
I mean I forgot that.
Speaker 8 (16:04):
You threw out that that record, that's rough. Yeah, And
then what do you do with Matherin? That's a great question.
That's a great question, honestly, think he needs to get well. Obviously,
all these guys hope they get back as soon as possible.
Speaker 3 (16:16):
But for his sake, if anything, you just get a
chance to showcase the challenge for somebody else. If the
colt's not coach, I'm sorry the Pacers don't feel inclined
to bring you back. But I don't even know if
that's even an issue. I still think that he could
be a part of their future. It's just so hard
to evaluate what that'll look like when don't have any bodies.
Like you're asking him coming into the season to play
the Pacers way and move the ball and be a
(16:38):
bit of a quicker thinker when it comes to our offense,
and then everyone gets hurt and assuming he's not out
for you know, too much longer, if he's able to,
you know, come back, let's say at the end of
the month or something like that, and get back healthy.
What are you telling Ben Mathering to do other than Okay,
go out there and give us twenty five. I mean,
(16:59):
I'm not worried about moving the ball with this unit.
I'm worried about can you just help us get a win.
Speaker 2 (17:03):
I'll tell you what. You watched the Pacers offense last year,
and it's like watching a restart of the ND five
hundred on lap one ninety, Like, inject it into my veins.
That is freaking awesome. And I'm watching this offense. I's
the guy who spun out. I'd rather watch Jeff and
his sound roundabouts in Carmel to learn driver's ed.
Speaker 3 (17:26):
Who is the guy who's spun out in the five hundred. Lachlan, Yeah,
this is what this feels like. It's all it is
like you kick it out your own way type of thing.
And again I'm used to that, and now I've got
to watch that. It's such a bad watch. I don't
know any other way to describe it. It is such
a bad It's like watching one of those ugly big
ten games from the Barn that I'm staying up for
(17:47):
at nine o'clock on a Tuesday night, and somehow Humble
is not on the call. It's one of the one
of the three games all year I watched that, Robbi
Humble's not on the call.
Speaker 2 (17:55):
I've got Stephen Bardo in my ear, but you got
to get to Bardo, man, let's not back. You're an
Illinois boy.
Speaker 3 (18:02):
To be quite honest, I probably listened to his games
very few and far between.
Speaker 2 (18:07):
I can't i the stat this year for the Pacers.
They are now eight games in the season. They have
yet to shoot forty five percent from the floor this year.
Last year, they were at forty five percent or better
in sixty six of their eighty two games.
Speaker 3 (18:20):
That is the Tyres Hallimurton effect. As well as we
need healthy bodies.
Speaker 2 (18:25):
And Andrew hard Anti J McCall. Yeah, yeah, list goes
on and on. Mark you like anything tonight Thursday night.
Eight and a half seems like a big number for
an intro division game.
Speaker 4 (18:34):
It's a big number. But the Raiders stink. I also
don't trust the Broncos because how many times this year
have they like not looked very good until the fourth
quarter and all of a sudden, oh yeah, there's a
game going on. We should probably start playing now.
Speaker 2 (18:44):
So I don't know if I would have got it
right if you would have told me they were seven
and two. Now I looked at that this morning, I'm like, wait,
they're seven and two. I know, New England and Indy
those three are all seven and two.
Speaker 3 (18:56):
Yeah, and then the Bills are six and two, which,
by the way, if flick oh man, the Bills they
struggling this year?
Speaker 5 (19:01):
No, they're not.
Speaker 2 (19:02):
Really, I mean they're right there right there. I went
on Kansas City Radio yesterday and they were like, hey,
you think the Colts will get the one seed? And
they listed the odds for the one seed and buff
I forgot Buffalo six and two.
Speaker 3 (19:14):
Yeah, same, yeah, Because I'm like, oh, I've rid all
your stories about Oh, it's wide open. The Juggernauts aren't
who they used to be, and I'm like, wait a second.
The Bills are right there with Josh Allen.
Speaker 4 (19:24):
By the way, there are five teams in the AFC
that have six or more wins. It's the Lord Colts, Patriots, Bills,
the Broncos, and the Chargers. That's it.
Speaker 2 (19:36):
That's the Chargers have come up. Yeah, that's crazy boy.
The Colts having the head to heads over Denver and
La could be big. Absolutely coming up in a bit.
I want to play this Derrick Henry audio. I do
I know where you're going with this? Again? We shared
this on definitely on Monday Show. But shout out to
Miles McLaughlin from Knox, Indiana. He broke the all time
(19:59):
state career rush record that Charlie Spiegel held in the
sectional semi final round. I think he had over four
hundred yards in that game. What a dog and he
has a shot to beat Derek Henry's record. Is there
anything more YouTube? But I feel like than Derek Henry's
high school highlights? I feel like if you are a
sports nerd out there, you've watched that at least three
(20:20):
times on YouTube. Derrick Henry has a career rushing record
for the entire nation, of course, and Miles McLoughlin would
need to average. I think it's right under three hundred
yards rushing in four games. Now, of course, that means
Knox would have to get to the state finals, and
I know that sounds like an absurd number, but he
is averaging that. I think he's averaging well above that.
(20:41):
Frankly this season, and Derrick Henry was with Kay Adams
had some great comments about that. I thought it was
really cool to hear him discuss Miles McLoughlin and Knox.
The recruiting profile slightly different for Derrick Henry versus Miles McLoughlin.
I saw he's visited maybe some Max Schools, Undy things
like that. But we'll play that audio up coming for
(21:02):
you here, and a little bit plenty more on Sauce
Gardner and his practice debut with the Colts yesterday, and
we'll get you set for the trip to Germany as
James leaves later today. It is the Fan Morning Show
right here on a Thursday. Thank you for spending it
with us ninety three five on a seventy five the
fan Mark dykeon' shall we play a little?
Speaker 5 (21:20):
I got to know he's got questions? How about a game?
They have got answers. I'm more of a you know,
a corn hoole man myself.
Speaker 1 (21:28):
Sports music, movies, what rod it? High fashions, beat hants,
all so hot right now and everything in between. You
ever seen a foot with four to two? It's time
to get a glimpse into the mind of Mark dyked In.
Speaker 5 (21:42):
Stop it, you scaring me. It's time for I gotta know.
Okay you punk? I want a good, clean fight.
Speaker 2 (21:49):
Let's get it on now, Mark, before we get started here.
M hm, I'm trying to think here. Clipboard, Jesus, remember
Charlie Whitehurst, Yes, dated Jewel correct, huh? I wonder if
that's our most famous colts player significant other in recent history.
Speaker 4 (22:10):
Didn't Oh what's his name? He was dating one of
the Playboy models from Oh the Guy that Dropped the
Ball and Hank Basket, Hank Basket, Yeah, with Dayton Kendra
Kendra Wilkinson.
Speaker 2 (22:23):
I know her?
Speaker 4 (22:24):
Oh yeah, see, I don't know where we know.
Speaker 2 (22:29):
It's how my laptop searched her name.
Speaker 4 (22:31):
We know what you mean, we know what you yeah,
I would say, right, wouldn't you say she was up there?
Speaker 2 (22:37):
Yeah? Boy, I don't know how to describe fame and
rank fame, but yeah, she'd be on the Mount Rushmore.
Speaker 4 (22:42):
This is another. This might be a little like a
research project to do most Famous.
Speaker 2 (22:46):
It sounds like something right down your alley, Mark, I
might do it.
Speaker 4 (22:50):
I'm preparing for tomorrow show as we speak, so I
might like hold on breaking news here, Jeff and you
debating this?
Speaker 5 (22:56):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (22:57):
Hm, so we'll figure it out. But most famous girlfriend
slash wife back in, it's an interesting topic. We'll dive
into that. Okay, you want to start culture Pacers, I'll
give you guys a thought.
Speaker 2 (23:09):
James, boy, go ahead, let's go pacers.
Speaker 5 (23:11):
All right.
Speaker 4 (23:12):
It has been a rough start for our injury ravage pacers.
But the best thing you've seen, despite a one and
seven record, has been what I know, there's not much
to choose from you.
Speaker 3 (23:22):
The best thing I've seen, well, then, walking down Golden
State has to be up there.
Speaker 2 (23:27):
I thought Quinn Jackson that package. I enjoyed that.
Speaker 3 (23:32):
Quinn Jackson, a guy who's kind of been a fringe
NBA player so to speak. Him having a twenty five
and ten game no turnovers against Steph Curry and then
hitting the game winner basically to seal the victory over
Draymont Green. That's a game where years from now we
might not remember it, but I'm sure that's the last
time memory for him and his family and he can say,
you know, one day, for one game, I was better
(23:53):
than Steph Curry.
Speaker 2 (23:54):
Yeah. I think that's really well said. I am struggling
mightily marked to come up with another one here. I yeah,
I don't even know if you can point to like
a young player that whatever has had three or four
great games. Yeah, I'm sorry. Oh, I'm gonna go with James.
I mean, is there another one, James? If you had
to pick another one, well, I mean I guess somebody can't.
Speaker 4 (24:17):
How about Opening Night took the Thunder the Limit.
Speaker 2 (24:21):
Yeah, that game was just so the ending is so painful.
I will say this, I enjoyed the juice on Monday Night.
It's like a playoff game in there. I enjoyed a
little healthy venom. Oh you know what, that's what you get.
I liked it. I like when professional atmospheres feel a
little college rivalry. It does. I don't think it's the
(24:42):
pro atmospheres enough in the regular season. I feel like that.
I do think game Bridge is a great atmosphere. I
do think there are many fourth quarters in the regular
season where the fans do get into it, but you know,
too often it's everybody hanging out in that restaurant to
start the third quarter until like ten minutes, you know,
into the third quarter. Last night, half the arena, Miss
Rick carlok tossed, So yeah, I'll go with the Monday
(25:03):
Night energy.
Speaker 4 (25:04):
Okay, again, that's kind of a lotto referenced big big energy, right, yes, yes,
thank you lot cleen version.
Speaker 1 (25:10):
All right.
Speaker 4 (25:10):
Eight games remain on the Colts schedule, including Sunday's international
game in Berlin against the Falcons. How many more losses
do you guys see on the schedule? Now it's the Falcons, Chiefs,
the Stuff, the Texans and Jaguars both twice. They've also
got the Seahawks and the forty niners. So eight games left.
How many more losses is on this Colts schedule?
Speaker 2 (25:31):
Three? I think they're going to finish the season. What
would that be? Thirteen and four? Oh no, sorry?
Speaker 3 (25:40):
Five?
Speaker 2 (25:41):
I think the over under was twelve and a half
before Pittsburgh I wonder if that would have changed at all.
You went three, James, I wanna go three.
Speaker 3 (25:50):
I think they lose at Kansas City, lose against the Seahawks,
and drop one of these games against their division rival,
whether it's the Texans or are.
Speaker 2 (26:03):
They winning in Jacksonville. That's that's the third loss, right there.
Speaker 4 (26:08):
Come on this kind of season and they're still little
in that Jacksonville.
Speaker 2 (26:11):
That streak's gonna continue.
Speaker 3 (26:13):
Look, I will never pick them to win in Jacksonville,
So I see it. Don't you sit there, Mark and
like I'm I'm picking something that just oh wow, that's
such a hot take.
Speaker 2 (26:21):
No it's not.
Speaker 6 (26:22):
Huh huh.
Speaker 2 (26:23):
I ain't saying it. I might switch it up a
little bit. I don't know. For some reason, I always
feel like I pick against this team and they seemingly
have thirty seven dudes on the injury report and they win,
and that's so uhh Yeah, I'll go three.
Speaker 5 (26:39):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (26:40):
I feel like there's gonna be one that I'll go
with four just to be different. I feel like, yeah,
there four might be alright, because I'm like, there's gonna
be one game that gets away from them. I feel
like that is gonna happen.
Speaker 5 (26:50):
There's like a game.
Speaker 2 (26:51):
Stroud is healthy. I get their O line could be
a mess, but I don't know. Nico Collins. I feel
like has just to use James's words, buy cheat the Colts,
but now they have sauce, well, sauce to go with
the hibachi. Look at this, Look at this. That sounds beautiful.
I'll stick with four, just to be different. Okay, have you.
Speaker 4 (27:10):
Guys seen this comet?
Speaker 2 (27:11):
Three?
Speaker 4 (27:12):
I at lias situation. Are you guys familiar with any
of this?
Speaker 2 (27:15):
No?
Speaker 4 (27:15):
I knew nothing of it until you think I know
that to break.
Speaker 3 (27:19):
This it sounds like something that you were putting a
little baggy in hand to somebody.
Speaker 4 (27:23):
Yeah. Uh so apparently it's a comic.
Speaker 2 (27:26):
James is getting in any lands in Berlin to that?
Yeah that comment? Three ah.
Speaker 5 (27:32):
Am?
Speaker 4 (27:32):
I saying this right, I don't know the science and
nerds will come after me. It's a comet that has
reportedly changed colors multiple times. It's changed its course and
path and speed suddenly, and does appear to be to
have a tail, which most commets do, which caused many
people to think it might be an actual alien spacecraft.
Because even NASA scientists are befuddled by this long way
(27:53):
to say, do you guys believe in aliens? And will
we see in a real life UFO or alien land
on Earth in our lifetimes?
Speaker 2 (28:01):
Oh, that's a question.
Speaker 4 (28:04):
I don't Why not You don't believe or you don't
think we'll see it or both both?
Speaker 5 (28:11):
You don't believe.
Speaker 2 (28:11):
I mean, we've been around for so long? How was
how was something not happened already? Half the area is that?
I feel like, if you're looking at now again, maybe
Jeff and his sons were waving the Kadi Mitchell in
the sky the other night with his jets Union.
Speaker 1 (28:27):
On home.
Speaker 3 (28:29):
I'm gonna say, I do believe that there's probably some
other existence out there, but they have no reason to
come to Earth. They look at Earth and they're like,
you know what that AIRBN beat out look like I
got too many good reviews and we're not staying there.
Speaker 2 (28:46):
So they just keep on going by.
Speaker 4 (28:47):
You have an alien land here and try to explain
the streaming situation for sports these days, and they'll be
out of here.
Speaker 2 (28:54):
Honestly, if they show up with a Roker remote and
explain how I can get back and forth quickly enough,
welcome They can sleep on my couch.
Speaker 4 (29:02):
Can you lift the ESPN Disney dispute?
Speaker 2 (29:04):
Can you do that for you? Terry tell they don't
have those problems in alien land.
Speaker 4 (29:07):
No, they're like, oh I look at look at this
jail broken fire stick. Figure that out? Okay, I figured
it out?
Speaker 5 (29:15):
All right?
Speaker 4 (29:15):
What are we watching at the moment on television? Starting five?
Have you guys finished that yet?
Speaker 7 (29:20):
No?
Speaker 2 (29:21):
I haven't that. That could be a good hospital watch
honestly for me, now that I think about it, Maddie
is locked in. I mean, I tell you what locked
in with Dancing with the Stars, like Jordan Chiles on there,
I think, yep. Shout out to Jordan Chiles, the Olympic
gymnasts for those unfamiliar. Yeah, I mean we are. I
mean we're analyzing it. She's got rosy. I mean I
(29:42):
feel like they're breaking I feel like they're Rick Venturi
breaking it down. Uh so we are. We have been
very big dance to the start, and last night I
was reminded and by the way, can I rant for
a second? Feel free? My friend. I know I've done
this before, but it's college basketball season, so I'm gonna
do it again. Last night, Indiana is supposed to tip
it a o'clock. I'll preach, preach, I flip over a
(30:03):
Big ten network and I've got the damn jersey Mike's
Arena staring back at me, and it's Rutgers and Isaiah
Ryder and there's three minutes and thirty seconds to go
in this game. No, I agree. How in the year
of twenty twenty five, mark want's aliens. I want a
little button in the bottom right corner that says, if
you'd like to watch Indiana Alabama A and M, click here.
Speaker 9 (30:28):
It's the same network. I'm not asking. You're not losing money, right,
I'm not leaving ESPN. Let me click on Big ten network.
Let me go watch the Indiana Alabama A and M
game so I don't have to watch Rutgers walk ons
chuck it from the volleyball line for three minutes. It
makes no sense to me. And we always have to
go to these alternate channels. Yeah, Notre Dame Boston College
(30:51):
will start on ESPN News, and you know you need
Big ten plus to watch the start of Indiana and
Alabama A and M.
Speaker 2 (30:57):
No, if it's on your network, put the button in
the corner. Let me click on it and it happens
all the time with college basketball and college football season.
Speaker 3 (31:05):
Here, I agree, brother, it is someone who no longer
has ESPN. I don't have these issues.
Speaker 2 (31:10):
Though they already sweating at eight at sixteen in the morning,
I will say, I am watching currently The Night Of
on HBO.
Speaker 3 (31:21):
It's like this drama show, hard to describe. Just watch
the trailer if you're interested, kind of like a court
kind of show. It was just pretty good. And I
finished Jen V on Amazon Prime Prime Video and that's
like a superhero show not for kids that do not
plays around your children at all, but pretty fascinating watch.
(31:42):
And I think it's a very real take on how
superheroes would actually be in the real world. We always
think the guys, the good guys, are gonna get the
powers like the Avengers.
Speaker 5 (31:49):
Nah.
Speaker 3 (31:50):
I think that this is a very real take on
how things will look. I would like to have superhero
insurance if those things ever re started happening in real life.
Speaker 2 (31:57):
Not to get too personal, but will you go sleeping
aid tonight?
Speaker 3 (32:01):
No, I told you, I'm very good. I'll sleep it
on planes. So as soon as I get a little
weary eyed, I am out.
Speaker 2 (32:07):
And you're You're like Brussels, where are you you You're Yeah.
Speaker 4 (32:10):
The travel schedule is a little crazy, but yeah, I
go from here to Newark and then Newark overseas to
Brussels and that's Belgium.
Speaker 2 (32:21):
Belgium.
Speaker 3 (32:21):
Had looked that up on because I was like, Lord,
have mercy, I've not been in school social studies in
a long time.
Speaker 2 (32:26):
And then Brussels over to Berlin. What's Brussels to Berlin?
How long is that?
Speaker 4 (32:31):
I didn't even look, brother, what is the like, what
is the length of the flight in totality? Like when
your if he touched the ground in Berlin? How long
will you be in the air traveling?
Speaker 5 (32:41):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (32:42):
Man, that's a great question. Honestly, I think I'll leave today.
So I think the director is eight. It like Colts, uh,
so the cult are obviously indied to Berlin. I want
to say that's eight. Just hide in the stowaway ben,
I wish.
Speaker 3 (32:53):
But yeah, it's like the real long flight is from
Newark to Brussels, which is like seven like seven hours
and maybe fifteen minutes. But yeah, I'll start traveling today
and then got a gift. Man, Yeah, I'll start traveling
today at three thirty our time, and then I land
over in Berlin at like eleven fifteen am their time.
Speaker 2 (33:15):
So and the culture like four o'clock tomorrow.
Speaker 3 (33:17):
Well, yeah, I believe like they have walk their you
know media bus that takes you out there kind of early,
so I'll know much sleep I'll be getting after that.
But it's honestly better stay up when you get that
far from home.
Speaker 2 (33:27):
Interesting. What are you watching?
Speaker 1 (33:28):
Mark? Uh?
Speaker 2 (33:29):
The uh music videos?
Speaker 3 (33:32):
Well?
Speaker 4 (33:33):
Yeah, in my privacy of my own home, usually when
the wife and kids are gone. Uh No, Fantastic four
First Steps dropped on Disney Plus I did not see
it when it was in theaters, So I'm gonna watch that.
Speaker 2 (33:43):
We st of have thoughts on this. I will won't
spoil it, but we will talk.
Speaker 4 (33:46):
About this movie. Yeah, so we're gonna watch that, I
think at some point. And then uh yes, starting five
started watching that a little bit ago, got to dive
back into that and then The Chair Company. I don't
know if anybody has watched it yet. It's from Tim Robinson,
who does I think you should leave? It's on HBO
on Sunday nights. It is very funny, it's very bizarre,
but it's very funny, much like I think you should
(34:07):
leave on Netflix. So for Tim Robinson fan, check it
out because it is it is quite good.
Speaker 2 (34:13):
Nine o'clock hour here on a Thursday, Kevin Bow and
James Boyd and Mark Dyke Dinner with you. Jeff Rickard
should be back coming up tomorrow. We got obviously a
busy weekend here as the Colts head out to Berlin
late tonight, normal week for them so far, and then
they will board a plane for Berlin, have a walk
through coming up tomorrow, and they'll kick at nine to
(34:34):
thirty on Sunday. So the Colts are playing in the
mornings and the Pacers are playing late nights. Pacers out west,
their first West coast trip of the year, and they sorely,
sorely need hey w to talk more about all of it.
Let's head of the Payless Liquers hotliner right now from
field House Files. He is Scott Agnes.
Speaker 5 (34:50):
Scott. Good morning to you, sir, Hey, good morning guys.
How are you doing well?
Speaker 2 (34:56):
Scott?
Speaker 5 (34:56):
I got in love this time of year, right when you.
Speaker 6 (34:58):
Got so much going on, no matter earlier night.
Speaker 2 (35:00):
Amen to that, Scott, can you endorse this? I ran
said about it earlier, and I was hoping I could
get your backing on this. I'm watching the IU game,
or I'm thinking I'm watching the IU game. Last night,
it's eight o'clock. I turned a Big ten Network and
I see Rutgers and writer has got three more minutes
left in the game, and I'm like, what the hell
are we doing? Well, the last thing I want to
watch is a bunch of Rutgers walk on to the
(35:21):
Jersey Mike Arena pulling up from the volleyball line. Why
can't Big ten Network continue to start the Indiana game
at eight o'clock and give me a button in the
bottom right hand corner that says, if you'd like to
watch IU versus Alabama A and M click here.
Speaker 5 (35:36):
Interesting.
Speaker 6 (35:37):
Yeah, you would think in the streaming world that would
become available, certainly not an old school cable. But and
I think, quite frankly, that's why so many times I
thought you're going on the different rant. That's why oftentimes
games are not actually eight o'clock. They're more like eight
twelve PM to build in a buffer for situations like that.
Speaker 2 (35:56):
What rant did you think I was going on? That
they the.
Speaker 6 (36:00):
Because I get indoors that games do not start at the.
Speaker 5 (36:05):
Time they announced. That's what that's been one of.
Speaker 2 (36:07):
My long which again, you can start on you at
eight o'clock for the you know, fifteen thousand people, although
they probably weren't that many of their last night, but
you know, for those people in the building, continue to
start at eight o'clock and just give me the option
if I'm sticking on the network. So yeah, I won't
get on the whole.
Speaker 6 (36:20):
Interview because otherwise it gets even worse because if they
do start it and you can't watch it, and then
sometimes you'll have these games to go into overtime and
it's halftime of the game you actually cared about exactly.
Speaker 3 (36:33):
Yeah, yeah, you got Kevin fired up here, Scott, So let's.
Speaker 2 (36:38):
Uh, you know, I'm just glad he's with me.
Speaker 3 (36:40):
I think everyone with a reasonable amount of sports fanom
can agree with you there. But Scott, getting back to
the main point of the call. The Pacers they drop
one last night against the previously winless Brooklyn Nets. When
how soon should we start looking at the draft board?
And that's kind of where my mind goes after a loss. Ready,
(37:04):
I'm sorry, yes, already, I'm dead.
Speaker 6 (37:06):
Serious, Okay to me I'm still in the mentality of
this as kind of a copycat of last year, much more,
much worse, certainly, But so given that, James, I'm kind
of shortly before Christmas. I'm about December fifteenth, December twentieth
in my mind.
Speaker 5 (37:24):
Right now, it's.
Speaker 6 (37:26):
Really about getting through the next couple weeks, but truly
the next month, letting them play a little bit, and
then you kind of reassess the situation, I think from there.
But right now the reality is, Look, they don't have
a true point guard essentially playing, and I think I
wonder to ask this as a team that is so dependent,
maybe more than any other team out there, of a
(37:47):
point guard, given the way they're empowered that position. They
allow for Tyres in particular, to just run things and
get them organized. They don't look organized out there offensively,
defensively more than anything though, it's just it's a bunch
of guys trying to figure this thing out on the fly,
with two guys that were signed this week, one that
(38:08):
was signed you know, last week. But now Mac McClung
doesn't even play, and there's a lot of growing pains.
But James, let's give it a month, I'd say.
Speaker 3 (38:17):
Okay, you've talked me off the ledge because I was thinking, Lord,
have mercy. This it just it just had me sad.
I was watching them like, this isn't the paces I'm
used to. But to your point about point guard release,
where do you find an answer? I think that's in
all serious is where some of my doubt comes from.
It's like, Okay, I believe in Pascal, I believe Mike
get a little healthier in other areas, but if your
(38:40):
point guards keep dropping, how do you realistically sustain anything
when you don't know who's going to be running your offense.
Speaker 5 (38:47):
That's it exactly.
Speaker 6 (38:48):
You nailed it one hundred percent because it's just the
fact that there's no flow, no rhythm. I mean so
many times last night you're watching and it's just entry
passes or the three arrow ahead passed. What they don't
get much anymore is that, you know, sixty foot pass
down the court to capitalize in three seconds before the
defense is even back. So not only is their strength
(39:10):
completely gone, but they're just completely sorely lacking in that spot. Now,
I think realistically you're hoping nim Harden and bennettict Mathern
are getting closer in the next couple of weeks is
what you'd like to see kind of maybe around Thanksgiving
by then, certainly, but even this, consider the fact Ray J. Dennis,
(39:31):
a two way guard, played five minutes in the first quarter,
and then presumably health his low back was bothering him
because we didn't see him the rest of the night
in a game where he could badly need it. So, James,
to your point, there was at least twice, maybe three
times last night where Isaiah Jackson said no, no, no, I'm good,
I'm bringing the ball down. I think that speaks to
(39:53):
the issue right there.
Speaker 2 (39:55):
Let's go from what we watched offensively last year to
what we have to watch right now, and again, personnel's
where it's all driven. It's just it's amazing and obviously
not in a good way. Scott agnesfield House Files he's
with us here on the payloss Slickers hotline. Scott with
the medical hardships. Jeremiah Robinson, Earl hell, he was a
six man last night. Cody Martin is getting minutes for you.
(40:18):
Those continue as long as you have whatever it is,
four guys out for at least two weeks, is that
what it is?
Speaker 5 (40:25):
Yeah?
Speaker 6 (40:25):
So four guys had to miss at least three games
and then be out for another two weeks. So yeah,
the contracts are for ten days, but as long as
the circumstances persist, I would expect for those to continue.
Speaker 2 (40:40):
Here, let's entertain James's initial thought here for just a second.
You know, when you do the math on the NBA season,
you know you're eight games in eighty two. It's obviously
a very small sample size, and you know the thought
is obviously Andrew Nemhard and Benedic Matther and by no
means of these season ending injuries. At what point organizationally
(41:01):
do you think they start to even ponder the white flag?
Speaker 5 (41:08):
Ponder it? Ooh.
Speaker 6 (41:11):
Initially I wanted to say December first, because by then you're,
what fifteen games into the season, You're starting to put
twenty twenty five, and by then you really have a
good idea every season of what the potential or not
is of this group. So I think it starts to
cross your mind more so maybe December first, but realistically
(41:33):
I'd say the turn of the new year.
Speaker 5 (41:35):
KB.
Speaker 6 (41:35):
I would you get through the holidays, there's a road trip,
you come back and it's like, all right, we got
to start considering the trade deadline and what we should
do or not do, and have the bigger picture in
mind here if it was just not meant to work
this year. Because one of the things to the larger
picture KB I wonder about is the pace in which
(41:56):
this Pacers team plays at.
Speaker 5 (42:00):
It leads to more.
Speaker 6 (42:01):
Possessions, that leads to more erratic and movements when considering
these injuries and such is they've been playing this style
for two or three years, and so I wonder maybe,
you know, did it catch up with him or certainly
the long season last year all the way to Game
seven didn't help that.
Speaker 5 (42:19):
It almost feels like this this.
Speaker 6 (42:21):
Group needs more than the three months that they truly
were able to have this offseason.
Speaker 3 (42:27):
Scott Agnes joining us here only Palos slickers hotline. You
can follow his work at field House Files. Scott, how
do we fix Pascal's free throws? I mean, this is
getting to a point where I'm starting to wonder like
it's something up, like, well, why such a dip in
his percentage, especially this year. I mean two for six
last night, I think on the year's in the fifty
(42:48):
percent kind of rand, fifty six percent something like that.
And it's just alarming and didn't in all serious is
do you think he shoots differently at the free throw
line than his other shots. I'm looking at this and
I'm fascinated by his form.
Speaker 5 (43:00):
It looks nice to me, and I'll need to take
a closer look at that.
Speaker 6 (43:02):
But I would just say that it seems like so
many anomalies are happening right now. I would say the
same thing for Aaron Nesmith.
Speaker 5 (43:10):
It was a ninety.
Speaker 6 (43:11):
Percent free throw shooter last season. I think he had
a game where he missed two this season. Or Ben
Shephard's three point shooting, which he a little bit corrected
last night. I was one of the positives coming out
of the game. I just think everything is off point
two in all this is the circumstantial change, and you
watch the workload and the usage rate and what is
(43:33):
being not even asked, but what Pascal is having to
do right now, and he's just exhausted out there from
I think every different level. Especially last night, it felt
like there was constantly times when maybe one of the
guys wasn't communicating defensively and somebody slipped behind and got
a layup and then it was an and one and
(43:55):
just I think there's so much on his mind and
so much he's being depended it on, and he's kind
of probably fellas like he's on an island sometimes, the
way in which being the star player that doesn't have
a ton of help now around him, that uh, there's
there's a lot going on and it's weighing heavily on him,
is what it looks like to me more than anything.
Speaker 2 (44:15):
A little golf action for Caitlyn Clark next week, Scott.
Speaker 5 (44:19):
Yeah, absolutely, that'll be That would be a good one.
Speaker 6 (44:22):
And on top of that, to your point is she's
got a couple of teammates going down.
Speaker 5 (44:27):
With her to be caddies.
Speaker 6 (44:29):
And I don't know how much carrying quite frankly, Sophie
Cunningham will or can do, given that she's still rehabbing
from a knee injury. But look, there's some special events
I already know of them, and things will be wearing
and it's it's all part of what Gamebridge is pushing.
There the presenting sponsor, uh and last year it was
a couple of Indy car drivers, Colton hurd A Marcus Erickson.
(44:50):
So if you're a Fever fan, we don't know the
TV coverage just yet, but I'm sure it'll be fun
to see them and the joy and fun that they
have playing around the course. And it's a group that
talks all the time, so it'll be fun to see
them how they act on the golf course when they're
just having a good.
Speaker 5 (45:09):
Time in the off season.
Speaker 2 (45:11):
Two on Caitlin Clark from a basketball standpoint, One, do
we know if she's healthy from a five on five
standpoint yet? And then two, what would the off season
look like like? We know she's not in the unrivaled
three on three league, but is there any team USA
stuff she'd be doing this offseason?
Speaker 6 (45:27):
Yeah, so, first of all, no real update just because
no one with the fever doing interviews, and obviously Kate
and as well given it's the off season. But she
said at her exit interview the goal was by the
end of last month October was to get and ramp
up two five on five play, But unclear she's there yet.
We'll talk with her next week and hopefully have some
(45:49):
kind of update on that front, and then for this offseason.
Speaker 5 (45:53):
Yes, the only thing to.
Speaker 6 (45:55):
My knowledge that's on her schedule from a basketball standpoint
right now is sort of USA basketball training camp, which
generally is a national week Championship weekend. They also have
a camp for some of the best players, so she's
planning expecting to be part of that as well.
Speaker 5 (46:13):
But the biggest thing, in.
Speaker 6 (46:14):
My opinion, KB is for her to find some kind
of game action when you haven't played since mid July.
She needs to do more than like a one on one,
three on three, like a true up and down games
that you can really simulate. So I think that will
be important for her, especially as young as she is.
Needs to get back after it, but first needs to
(46:36):
make sure this foot, the bruin and all the injuries
can be in the past so that this is not
something we're still talking about next summer.
Speaker 2 (46:44):
His work Fieldhouse files where you can find it. He
is the pride of North Central. He is Scott Agnes Scott.
Thank you sir.
Speaker 5 (46:51):
Yeah, absolutely thanks guys.
Speaker 1 (47:05):
You were listening to the Fan Morning Show on Sports
Radio ninety three to five and one oh seven five
the Fan, so.
Speaker 2 (47:12):
Mark dyked in our re entries today they have evolved
the women in the Life of Sauce Gardner and Germany.
Speaker 4 (47:21):
Yeah, and this one is by none other than David
Hasselhoff because our next guest. When I think of David Hasselhoff,
I think Jason Hammer.
Speaker 10 (47:29):
Germans love David Hasselhoff Man. Germans love David Hasselhoff.
Speaker 2 (47:33):
And boy, I'll tell you what, Jason Hammer, you have
made us some money lately. Brother, I'll think.
Speaker 4 (47:37):
Of him as d David Hasselof because David Hassoff famously
drunk and eating pizza. I imagine that is what Hammer
will be during this Thursday night stinker we have tonight.
Speaker 2 (47:46):
Well, and the women around David Hasselhoff, I'm sure the
women around Jason Hammer right.
Speaker 10 (47:50):
Well, you would think you would think, you would think,
but actually nobody would think that. But as long as
my wife as that's a bottom life.
Speaker 2 (47:57):
Amen Hasselhoff.
Speaker 10 (47:58):
Question though, before we get into you know what we're
actually talking about here. Is he best known for Baywatch
or is he best.
Speaker 2 (48:05):
Known from Michael Knight knight Writer Baywatch for Maywat?
Speaker 3 (48:09):
Really, if you told like America, they would say Baywatch
night Writer, and.
Speaker 2 (48:18):
It's probably more of the association of who he was
with Baywatch.
Speaker 10 (48:21):
Wise, that's rare, but I feel like usually when you
get your name out there first, that's what sticks.
Speaker 5 (48:27):
Right.
Speaker 10 (48:27):
Night Writer really put him on the map. That's his
crappy music. But yeah, that's a good question. If you
did a family feud style survey on Minu my Circle
and that's one hundred people name something David Hasselhoff is
famous for. Will you have more people say Night Writer
or Baywatch.
Speaker 2 (48:44):
I'm gonna stand by bay Watch again. Association similar to
us having you and studio every Thursday, where we're fortunate
to be associated with you. We are very happy about
some wins and I feel like you hit and we haven't.
I don't think you've been in studio for a couple
of weeks now, Jonathan Taylor, you hit a few weeks back.
I wanted to make sure we acknowledge that that was
a three touchdown plus eight hundred bet. You said, how
(49:06):
about Pacers opening night when you gave us Benedict matherin
first three pointer? Heymer, you've been excellent. We needed that.
Speaker 10 (49:13):
We had a slow start to this year, right, And
we had a slow start. But water finds its level.
Any gambler is gonna tell you you're never that high, You're
never that low. Water finds it's lower only as good
as your last bet, right, And man, I'm telling you
guys right now, you're not gonna like tonight's place.
Speaker 2 (49:28):
Oh geez, boy, i'd set you up for that. You did,
You're already giving us bad juju jeez. Okay, so we
got Broncos Raiders. Colts fans are gonna want the Raiders.
We're already looking at standings. You want to get the
one seed again, only one team gets to buy with
the expanded playoffs here, So eight and a half point
underdog the Raiders. Where you are you going? Like under
on this? So are you going?
Speaker 5 (49:50):
So?
Speaker 10 (49:50):
I have this list of things that I wanted to
talk about, and stats and numbers the very first two
words and look at this.
Speaker 2 (49:57):
Raiders stink.
Speaker 10 (49:58):
That's what I wrote down in my little a piece
of notebook paper. Raiders stink. They just traded one of
their best players. They can't stop anybody. But on the
other hand, you've got Denver playing their third game in
eleven days. It's a short week. So what I mean
by you guys aren't gonna like this. Nobody ever likes
to play the under. The understinks, But I feel like
(50:21):
under forty three is kind of where I'm gonna live
at tonight. Seven of the raiders last eight road games
against the AFC West have gone to the under and
with the whole water finding its level thing. See, I'm
gonna bring it back full circle here. There's been a
lot of overs on Thursday this year. Historically, Thursday Nights
(50:41):
are unders. Right from the beginning of the Thursday Night broadcast,
it's been about sixty percent unders with the exception of
this year. So we need that water to find its
level Tonight and divisional matchup. I think if the Broncos
get a lead, they start mailing it in. We're going
under forty three tonight.
Speaker 2 (50:58):
That's the play. That is a voice of Jason Hammer
Degenerate's next Door. We can find his twice a week
podcast covering college football and the NFL as well. Okay,
anything individually you like tonight.
Speaker 10 (51:11):
So I always try to find somebody on each team, right,
so that way we always have action when we're watching
the game. Here's another under that stinks. Ashton genty under
fifty five and a half rushing yards here. Boy, I
know his team's not very good, but has he lived
up to number six pick in the draft? Can anybody
(51:31):
say Ashton genty is unless he's playing the Bears. No,
the number six pick in the draft. I think Denver
is probably going to have a lead in this one.
When you have a lead, you abandon the run. And
I don't know if he gets there unless he breaks
off a long one. If he breaks off a long one,
we're in trouble. But we're in trouble for watching this
game anyway. So under fifty five and a half rushing
(51:52):
yards for genty and on the other side, we do
have one over one over Courtland Sutton over fifty five
and a half receiving yards tonight. He's averaging about seventy
four receiving yards at home during home games in Denver.
Last time he played the Raiders Week twelve last year,
(52:12):
ten targets, eight catches, ninety seven yards. Raiders stink at
defending the pass. They're giving up one hundred and sixty
five yards per game to wide receivers. Somebody's going to
have to catch a pass.
Speaker 2 (52:24):
And this is a.
Speaker 10 (52:24):
Pretty workable number. Over fifty five and a half with
Sutton tonight. You got all that down, KB. This is
paper money, okay.
Speaker 2 (52:32):
All of it. We got diapers for a month after all.
This is making sure jotting it all down. But this boy,
this feels like I want to stab my eyes. I
don't like it any more than you guys did. Hey,
money's money hammer. How do we feel about the Colts
matchup overseas?
Speaker 6 (52:45):
So?
Speaker 2 (52:45):
I think the Colts win.
Speaker 10 (52:47):
I feel like Atlanta hangs around though. Right, that's a
pretty big number for an overseas six and a half
my neutral site game, right, I'm not touching the spread
gun to my head. I would take Atlanta with the points.
Still think the Colts win, but I think Atlanta sticks
around two prop bets though that. I'm looking at Tyler
Warren over forty five and a half receiving yards. Falcons
(53:11):
are twenty fourth defensively against tight ends. They don't give
up a lot of touchdowns, but they.
Speaker 2 (53:16):
Give up some yards.
Speaker 10 (53:18):
So over forty five and a half with Tyler Warren,
and how about some Danny dimes here over twenty one
and a half completions. Three of his last four games
we've hit that, and the one week he didn't, we
got beat by the hook.
Speaker 2 (53:32):
So Atlanta's top past defense doesn't wear you at all.
I think it's dink and dunk.
Speaker 10 (53:36):
It's not like we're throwing twenty one receptions down the field.
Speaker 2 (53:40):
Just completely just know you'd have to find this offshore,
which you know, call up coach Billups for this. But
James Boyd, we saw them throw a pass earlier this
season to the left tackle. And where does the left
tackle hail from?
Speaker 6 (53:58):
Wall?
Speaker 3 (53:58):
You're talking about the Colts. We saw them in central Michigan. Well,
well he hails from Austria.
Speaker 2 (54:03):
But could they dial up a touchdown to Bernard Rayman
in the game in Germany? Oh, it's a bit on
the nose, Kevin I nuts, let's get Can you imagine
the odds you could get on that? Again, there's no
way our books have that.
Speaker 10 (54:20):
But if you're want to do it, go big, first touchdown,
first touchdown Ryman?
Speaker 2 (54:25):
If that would be crazy? If Shane Steiken wants to
get that international fan based rocket, Hey, I said, pamper money,
not retirement. Okay, that is certainly true. Anything else. College
Slate wise, Indiana going for their first winning Happy Valley, Uh,
not a great I think College Football Slate Big twelve
action from a game day standpoint.
Speaker 10 (54:45):
Dude, the college Slate stinks when certain teams are bad,
like the last two weeks. Penn State being garbage has
ruined the schedule. Yeah, because you had the Ohio State
hype with him.
Speaker 1 (54:55):
Right.
Speaker 2 (54:55):
Now, here's Indiana and LSU is another one.
Speaker 10 (54:57):
You know, normally the LSU Alabama game is signature game
on this week's schedule, but because Els you stinks, now
we're looking at like BYU and Texas Tech is the
signature game. I'll lay the fourteen and a half with
the fighting Signettes. Signetti is one of those dudes where
he just doesn't care, does not care. If he can
(55:18):
run it up, he will absolutely do it style points matter,
zero apologies, zero blanks given backup quarterback. I think it's
one of those deals where Penn State may hang around
early because they still have some dudes defensively. Right, there's
a lot of five star, four star dudes defensively, but man,
throughout four quarters, I think Signetti covers that thing by
(55:40):
more than two touchdowns.
Speaker 2 (55:41):
Okay, coming up again tonight, it is a Gouger Eyes
night here with Thursday Night football bat oh Nicks any good?
Speaker 10 (55:48):
You guys are the ones to talk about this for
a living.
Speaker 3 (55:50):
Is the product of Sean Payton in a very good defense.
Speaker 2 (55:55):
Yeah, I think honestly, if you're the Colts, you wouldn't
mind seeing rematch with Denver just because the Knicks, frankly,
I get their defenses pretty darn good, but still okay
under forty three, that's what we're going with our big one,
Ashton genty the under on his rushing yards, and Courtland
Sutton were taking the over on those receiving They got the.
Speaker 10 (56:12):
Same total that I saw on my sports book at
fifty five and a half.
Speaker 2 (56:15):
So just remember that number.
Speaker 10 (56:17):
We need Genty under, we need Sutton over.
Speaker 2 (56:19):
That is Jason Hammer Degenerates next store, and of course
Hammer and Nigel every afternoon on our sister station, WIBC Hammer.
Thank you, thank you, gentlemen,
