Speaker 1 (00:00):
You're listening to the best of the Fan Morning Show
on ninety three five and one oh seven five The Fan.

Speaker 2 (00:06):
Good morning, seven thirty on your way to work on
a rainy Thursday morning. Here at ninety three five one
oh seven five The Fan in downtown Indianapolis. We'll hear
from all the things that Sophie Cunningham had to tell.
The rest of WNBA coming up in a few minutes.
For right now, we've got the Colts coming up tonight
with a situational scrimmage of a Grand Park that one
starts at eight o'clock this evening, and joining us now
to talk all things Colts. One of our favorite former

(00:27):
Colts players, Joe Wright's also one of our broadcasters on
the Payless Liquors Hotline. Good morning, this wet, rainy Thursday. Joe,
you staying dry?

Speaker 3 (00:36):
Yeah, good morning. That's nice.

Speaker 4 (00:37):
We get a little bit of break in the heat.
I'm sure that the guys up at Grand Park are
appreciating that for sure. That's one thing that, especially as
an offensive lineman, you check the weather an awful lot
during camp and it's been hot, and as a player
you might not like it, but that heat, that's stress
that's that's good for a team as you're building your
mental toughness and building.

Speaker 3 (00:59):
Your team coming out of can't.

Speaker 4 (01:00):
But yeah, it'll be fun tonight, and guys get a
little bit of break here going into the night practice tonight,
which would be exciting.

Speaker 5 (01:08):
Joe, I wanted to have you on because I wanted
your Hall of Fame game memories. Tonight's the Hall of
Fame game. I don't care anything about the twenty twenty
five Colts. We have football in July, and I have
you and a Colts jersey getting ready to play at
the Green Bay Packers. And then the paint wouldn't dry, right.

Speaker 4 (01:23):
Twenty sixteen, the game that never was. We really need
a thirty for thirty about it. And then I will
say that the locker room probably was a little bit
more excited than maybe the coaching staff and the fans
about not playing. But that was just a weird deal
in terms of how everything went down, and all of
a sudden, you know, you see the GMS talking and
the coaches and ended up not playing that game, but

(01:45):
had some interaction with the fans. But yeah, it was
nine years ago, the greatest game that never was.

Speaker 5 (01:51):
So you go, what if I told you thirty for thirty,
Joe Wrights cannot.

Speaker 3 (01:54):
Wait for that.

Speaker 5 (01:55):
Let's do it the great Joe Rights with us here
on the Payless Leakers hotline. Okay, let's shift gears to
what you will be talking a whole lot about here
coming up in a I guess in a week quarterback wise,
Let's go with Richardson for a second. And you know
you were at practice the other day. What do you
need to see? What do you need to see from
Anthony Richardson in order for you to say all right?

(02:16):
Week one starter he gets the keys again.

Speaker 4 (02:19):
Yeah, it's a hard question because I think that you know,
at least in my opinion, neither guys really separated themselves
so far during camp. You know, I thought that both
guys have looked better this week. And you know what
I like from Richardson is, you know, accuracy in his throws,
more decisive in his reads, getting the ball out quick
and where it needs to go, and kind of throwing
guys open right those that's the natural evolution of a

(02:42):
young quarterback playing. And clearly he has, you know, unique
physical traits that no other quarterback in the NFL has,
you know, But I think For me, I'm excited to
watch these guys play in the preseason because I think
it's one thing when you're playing against your own team
and everything's for the most part, but you really have

(03:03):
five opportunities, right when you think about joint practice in Baltimore,
ones on ones good on good, then you got the game,
the same thing with Green Bay, and then you got Cincinnati,
and we're playing the Ravens here in a week and
it'll be awful exciting. And I hope that you know,
those quarterbacks both get a lot of time on the
field together because I think that again, neither one has

(03:24):
really separated themselves so for and I think that competition
is going to bring out the best in both guys.
But you know, I think in terms of and everybody
wants to know that, right, who's the quarterback going to be?

Speaker 3 (03:32):
When are you going to make a decision?

Speaker 4 (03:33):
I think that coach Tichen's doing it right in terms
of there's no timeline, We'll make the decision when we
know and at the end of the day, you know,
it's really going to be a gut decision, you know,
between the coaching staff and what they think to do.
So I'm excited to see how that plays out. And
I'm excited to see both of those quarterbacks live, not
only in the game a week from today, but in

(03:55):
that joint practice against Baltimore too, because I think you
can learn a lot against that and all the difference
situations that they'll play, you know up at Owens Mills.

Speaker 5 (04:03):
I want to sneak in one more. And I could
not agree more on the playing time in the preseason
for these quarterbacks. I would argue throughout all three games
when they are on the field, Joe, do they need
to be with the starters, Like, are you leaving you know,
some of those notable offensive guys in there as well,
or do you just view it as no, let's you know,

(04:23):
it's fine whoever is around them in the other ten
guys offensively Richardson and Jones just period need reps.

Speaker 4 (04:32):
Yeah, And that's a tough one because obviously you want
to play with your first offensive line. You know, you
want those guys to have a nice clean pocket in
there and be able to make decisions. And I think,
you know, maybe rotate different skill positions, but you would
expect in any preseason, right if you're going ones on ones,
it's going.

Speaker 3 (04:49):
To be a dogfight. But if, for if the other.

Speaker 4 (04:51):
Team's playing their twos, then you would expect those quarterbacks
to have some more success. And I think even if
you're playing longer in the preseason, you're not playing against quote,
the other team's best defense, well then you would expect
them to be you know, carving those guys.

Speaker 3 (05:04):
Up and going up and down the field.

Speaker 4 (05:05):
So you know, we'll see how that plays out and
how much time and run they get, you know, when
the lights really come on next Thursday night. But uh,
I think that again, there's practice situations, and then there's
joint practices with another team, and then there's the preseason.
And what I've always liked about the NFL, there's a
different intensity level to everything. Right, there was an intensity

(05:28):
level to start camp. Then it ramps up when pads
come on. It's going to ramp up some tonight in
a situational type scrimmage.

Speaker 3 (05:35):
It's going to.

Speaker 4 (05:36):
Ramp up when you go to joint practices, and it's
going to ramp up in the preseason. And I think
as you get those reps, those high quality reps and
more intense situations, you would think that the quarterback battle
will play itself out and so again, fans probably don't
want to hear preach patients. But when the decision's right,
everybody will kind of know, and you know that's my view,

(05:57):
that's when they'll make the decision. And who are quarter
is to lead this team for twenty twenty five?

Speaker 6 (06:02):
Joe James Boyd here.

Speaker 7 (06:04):
I had a chance to see a camp the other day,
and actually I was kind of confused because I hadn't
seen you in years and obviously not from the Indianapolis
area book. Kevin goes he has Joe Wrights, and I'm like, who, Like,
he's lived down a lot, so just out of curiosity
when you're an offensive lineman and you leave the game
away as part of your relieve that you don't have
to consume so many calories and you can kind of
be a little more normal, if that makes sense.

Speaker 4 (06:26):
Man, James, what a comment to fire me up this morning.

Speaker 3 (06:29):
I appreciate it.

Speaker 4 (06:30):
But yeah, we always would joke because there's old we're
the fat guys, right, we weighed three ten and three twenty,
et cetera. But when we get done, you know, you
think about Jeff Saturday and the guy to play with,
Matt Burke and Joe Thomas and all these guys. Most
linemen end up losing forty to fifty pounds because we
can quote eat like a normal human being again and
not you know, eat like eight thousand calories. So we
give a hard time to the running backs and the

(06:52):
wide receivers like, hey, yeah, you had two percent body
fat when you play.

Speaker 3 (06:55):
You are running around all the time. But check us
out in ten.

Speaker 4 (06:58):
Years and we'll see you it looks a little bit better.

Speaker 3 (07:00):
Appreciate that.

Speaker 6 (07:01):
I do want to follow up on a more serious note.

Speaker 7 (07:03):
You didn't have to deal with like a traditional quarterback competition,
but there was some you know, turnover there a little
bit throughout your time, just with injuries and things of
that nature. So for you as an offensive lineman, what
is it like when you do have to sort of
prepare for a few options that quarterback and it might
not be the one guy, if that makes sense for sure?

Speaker 4 (07:22):
And we went through some of that when Andrew had
some injuries, and we had Hasselback in there, and you know,
we had Charlie Whitehurst and you know, we had you know,
all different kinds of guys playing for alignment. It's not
a ton different, especially if the offense is the same.
And that's why I really like Daniel Jones because I mean,
he's more mobile than people think, and so you can
run the same type of offense, right, it's not necessarily

(07:44):
you know, Joe Flacco and Anthony Richardson, that's really two
different offenses in terms of what you're doing and what
those quarterback skill sets are. So for alignment, people would always,
you know, they ask me questions, well, who's looking good
in camp and who's going on. It's like, I have
no idea. I'm just worried about how the line's doing,
and I can tell you how us five guys are going.
And I think that's still true in football. You can
follow the ball when you're watching a game. I encourage people, hey,

(08:07):
follow the ball like you normally would do, and then
take a series in the game, take a quarter and
just watch the line. Just watch the O and D
line because you really can only focus on one. And so,
you know, when I was up at camp, people are saying, well,
how the quarterbacks look and how the receivers look, and
I'm like, honestly, I can kind of tell you, but
I was watching the O line every day and watching
the D line and you know, that's what I was
learning about and you know, trying to figure out because

(08:29):
there's some some big questions there to be answer, right,
who's gonna be your starting center? Gonzalveez at right guard,
which I think actually that's his best natural position. I
think he has the length in there at guard to
really match up with some of these guys and some
of these harder, you know, defensive tackles the block and
just a shout out to Bernard Ryman too, I mean

(08:50):
the fact that the Colts got that done so quick
and for him, I mean, I think that's great because
in my opinion, he's a Tier one left tackle. He's
the top ten tackle in the league. He's only going
to get better, and he's your prototype offensive line than
what you want. A guy that shows up that works
really really hard, that doesn't say a whole lot, but
when he does, his voice carries weight, and I just

(09:12):
think locking him down for the future on that old line.
I'm really excited about that because you think him and
you got perennial Pro Bowl or Quinton Nelson, and you
got Braden Smith who seems just in a great spot physically, mentally, emotionally.
I mean, those three guys, you know, playing a really
really high level, and then you throw in some of
those younger guys and they have some upside.

Speaker 3 (09:33):
I mean, I really think that.

Speaker 4 (09:34):
There'll be times whoever the quarterback is, will lean on
our old line to win us some games. And again,
everybody's talking about the quarterback and I get that, but
our running attack and that versatile running attack with Jonathan Taylor,
whoever the number two running back is, and then you
know all the different things we can do from a
quarterback perspective, especially Anthony Richardson and his unique traits.

Speaker 3 (09:56):
If he's the guy, you know.

Speaker 4 (09:58):
You can be a team that runs for two hundre
yards a game, possesses the ball, wears the defense down,
and you do that with a combination of a better defense,
which I really am excited about too. And you know,
I think that that's the hope, right that this team's
going to go out and not a lot of people
are talking about the Colts, which is what you want.
You want to be a team that not everybody's talking about,

(10:18):
your sky high expectations and just a team that's kind
of floating under the radar nobody's talking about. And then
you show up when the season starts real in September
and you start winning games and stacking wins, and people
are like, oh, well, you know, hey, the Colts are
legit this year.

Speaker 7 (10:32):
Joe, correct me if I'm wrong, But I believe you
ended your career over the last couple of seasons playing
right tackle. And I'm curious to know how do these
conversations go when you know the left tackles get paid
and so you're looking at maybe saying I like.

Speaker 6 (10:44):
The left more than the right.

Speaker 7 (10:45):
Is that a conversation that you think about at all
in all seriousness or is it one where you.

Speaker 6 (10:49):
Just like, I got to get in rough it in?

Speaker 4 (10:51):
Well, you know, I was never trying to get paid
as much as I was just trying to.

Speaker 3 (10:54):
Stay on the team. Right.

Speaker 4 (10:57):
I wasn't getting cold and you know, get and cut.

Speaker 3 (11:00):
Like happen you know often early in my career.

Speaker 4 (11:03):
But I think that's changed some with how good edge
rushers are and how many good guys are playing against
the right tackle.

Speaker 3 (11:09):
Now, you know, you think about the TJ.

Speaker 4 (11:10):
Watts of the world, I mean, right tackles are really
starting to get paid as well, and then guards too.
It's just funny how the NFL shifted, and then all
these guys are you know, Chris Jones and Aaron Donald
are getting you know, JJ Watt when he played inside
and those premier defensive tackles, and then you see guards
do it too, so you know you've got to be
good across the board. And I really do think again,

(11:32):
we should have a top five offensive line in the NFL.
And that's huge whoever the quarterback is, because having a
clean pocket and not being under durest back there when
you're making decisions, that's going to make life a lot
easier for you.

Speaker 3 (11:44):
The Richardson or.

Speaker 2 (11:45):
Jones, Joe Wright's joining us on the Paylost Liquors hotline
right now. John'm just curious a practice the other day,
Grover Stewart with a little throw down to the field
at little more little extra on Jonathan Taylor. Quentin Nelson
comes over kind of say, hey, don't do that to
my guy. What's that like? After practice everybody get together
and go, hey man, we all good? Or is that
everybody just move on and not even not even to

(12:06):
address that.

Speaker 4 (12:07):
Yeah, for the most part, you're usually all good. And
I like that that chippiness playing on edge, having that intensity.
I think you did that, and especially for this team.
I think this is a team and I know coach
talked about we want to have a more intense camp
than years before, and I just think, you know, you
play how you practice, and so I think just having
an edge right there is a good thing. And again, yeah,

(12:28):
I Grover Stewart's coming after me. I don't want to
get involved in that. Quinton Nelson is coming back. I mean,
but those two guys have such respect for each other,
and Quinton knows that Grover's going to make him better
and vice versa, and so yeah, I like to see
that in those individual battles. But you know, usually for
the most part, it's it's football. It's intensity, it's hot,

(12:48):
emotions get high, and then everybody cools down after practice
and you're all good.

Speaker 2 (12:53):
Jill, thanks for stopping by. I always appreciate your perspective.
You're doing a great job. We look forward to hearing
youymore as the season goes along. Buddy stake take care.

Speaker 3 (13:00):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (13:01):
Yeah, the last thing too, I just want to share
I'm really excited to see lose defense. I just think
we have some different pieces on the back end then
allow our secondary to be as strong as it's been
in a long long time, and I just think schematically
changing things up and putting guys in a different position.
You know, I'm really excited about that. Again, I think
so much focus has been on the offensive side of

(13:21):
the football, which I get, especially with a quarterback. But
at the end of the day, you know, football still
a three phase game with special teams, defense and offense.
And I really think that we're going to be a
team that's going to be able to play really good,
complimentary football all season and at the end of the day,
whether you win a game seventeen to sixteen or you
want to shoot out thirty eight to thirty five, it's
all a w.

Speaker 3 (13:41):
At the end of the day in the calendar.

Speaker 4 (13:43):
So you know, I'm fired up for this team for sure,
and I can't wait to call the game next Thursday
in Baltimore and you know, really start to go to
that next phase and get this thing juiced up for real.

Speaker 5 (13:53):
More aggressive defense. In twenty twenty five, the Colts with
Loui an Arumo or you're our Lady Mount Carmel sixth
grade Raiders.

Speaker 8 (14:00):
Oh well, it's it's easy to blitz in sixth grade,
so we'll we're like to remember the time you blitz
all night because you're not as concerned about a fifty
yard pass over your head in sixth grade as you are.

Speaker 3 (14:11):
And in the NFL.

Speaker 5 (14:12):
I heard Saint Mark's got a quarterback that can uncork one.
You better be careful.

Speaker 4 (14:16):
Maybe send me that detailed report afterwards, Kevin, with your
your plugged into the Cyo game. But but no, but
for for lose defense, he's been uh, you know, he's
done both right, done a lot of different blitzes. You know,
not blitzed as much if you're getting the consistent pass
rush with four guys. So I'm excited to see how
that plays out. But just the the change up and
doing a lot of things differently defensively, I think it's

(14:38):
really going to help this football team.

Speaker 2 (14:39):
Thanks Boddy, appreciate talking to you.

Speaker 3 (14:41):
Thanks shem all right, Thanks Pellows, good.

Speaker 2 (14:43):
Morning, and welcome into the program. Along with Kevin Bow
and James Boyd, I'm Jeff Frickord Mark Dykeen over there
on the ones and twos. We'll talk a little more
cults as they get ready for a situational scrimmage later
on tonight at Grand Park in a few minutes. But
right now we harken back to last night's w NBA
Fever game at home at the Fieldhouse. They take on
the fel Mercury and for the third time this season,
they score one hundred plus points and they went it

(15:04):
by a score of one oh seven to one one.
They're fifteen and twelve, three games over five hundred. Here
to tell us more about it, man who's been covering
the Fever for quite some time now and is dialed
in as anybody that's Scott Agnes from the Fieldhouse Files.
Good morning, Scott, how you doing today? Good morning guys,
doing well? How about you doing fantastic? Especially watching Aliah
Boston just dominate the first four minutes of that fourth

(15:25):
quarter last night. That was impressive.

Speaker 9 (15:28):
Yeah, yeah, she owned that and really put her stamp
on the game during that stretch, and it was a
run that Fever needed just to just to keep the
lead and keep staying in front of a group where
so many times we've seen them relinquish that lead and
make things difficult. And I thought she did a nice
job help leading the way. And really the most impressive

(15:48):
thing Juff to me is how it's been different players
step up in a variety of roles and really lean
into the team over the last month or so.

Speaker 7 (15:58):
So Scott, you know me, I love my pettiness. Third quarter,
Oh boy, do Wanna Bonners? I saw it on the block,
you know, taking trying to take Lexi Hall one on
one that doesn't work, turn around, fade is short. Then
they get the ball back and she gets blocked at
the rim by Natasha Howard. Crowd goes crazy, Caitlin Clark
goes crazy. What was your interpretation of that? A little

(16:20):
bit of I guess, you know, hot blooded competitive fire there.

Speaker 9 (16:25):
Yeah, I think it was exactly what we what you said,
what you saw both one getting excited for teammates, but
like all right, you didn't want to be part of us,
and that was that was the feeling James I got
throughout the entirety of this, you know what, you know,
I'm watching for the details, and several times do Wanna
was even you know, waiting for the ball to be

(16:45):
brought down at the other end of the floor and
she'd be right in front of the Fever bench. There
was not one hand slap, one you know, hit to
the back, one one high or hey, good to see
you nothing, no interaction, So clearly no love lost. Fever
have moved on and do Wanna didn't want to be
part of this Fever team, this situation anymore. She still

(17:06):
has not explained herself. I gave her that opportunity yesterday
and yeah, and so I think you saw that emotion
come out and for some of the Sun players to
be disappointed about you know how the Fever fans are
treating do Wanna and she's a legend or anything. Has
she not heard the way Pacer fans treat Lebron. It

(17:26):
can be a legend and be an opponent. That's good competitiveness.
It's actually good for the state of the league if
if fans are against you when you're not in their building.

Speaker 7 (17:37):
Scott, I want to like scream through my TV when
I saw some of these quotes coming out, just thinking
to myself, wait a second, you.

Speaker 5 (17:44):
Know the sport.

Speaker 6 (17:46):
These people are going to get booed.

Speaker 7 (17:47):
They're gonna boo Miles Turner when he comes back, and
he did a lot more for the franchise. On the
men's side for the Pacers, Dan Dowanna Bonner did in
her nine games for the Fever, but nevertheless, getting back
to the actual Fever team Arry McDonald's twenty seven point
it's yesterday career high. What has impressed you the most
about not only her willingness to you know, contribute, to
do whatever it takes for the team, but just the

(18:08):
consistency of stacking on top of her previous performances, because
it seems like, you know, from where she started, which
was a good start, to where she is now, she's
even better.

Speaker 3 (18:17):
Yeah.

Speaker 9 (18:17):
And one last thing on that last point, it's where
WNBA commissioner kath Engelberg emphasized how she wants the fans
become part of individual teams and not just the league
or the pause or anything like that. And I think
that is a valid point, and that's how you can
spark rivalries. If they want something to be a rivalry,

(18:37):
that can lead to it. And then in terms of area, Yeah,
what's been so impressive to me about what she's done
is is how she's number one had poised this entire time.
Some would get sped up, some would be overwhelmed with
the task getting and or the situation, and how quickly
she's been forced into this get it. At the same time,

(18:58):
all I keep seeing is optimism positivity shine through her
gratefulness and then also her willingness to do whatever it takes.
And so I don't think she's forced anything out there.
She had the hot hand, they were sagging back a
little bit defensively, and like Kelsey Mitchell, she just sprinted
towards the basket and was allowed to get so many

(19:21):
layups early on. And so I thought last night in
the game, she did a nice job of reading, Hey,
look they're all over Kelsey Mitchell. Kelsey didn't have the
game we are used to seeing. I think she's led
him in scoring in almost all but one over the
last dozen games or something. What Kelsey done has done
over the last month has been remarkable, but airy in

(19:42):
that first half in particular, just reading what was open
out there, James. And then the other thing I think,
and you can see this, especially with the other newcomer
and Chloe Bibbie, is they have reinforced the team, the
coaches what their role is and they want you to
excel at that. Chloe, anytime she gets the ball and
has a second to get a shot off, she fires

(20:05):
away and is comfortable and confident in that role as well.

Speaker 5 (20:08):
Scott agnes Fieldous Files or you can find his work
in the Fever. Now head off to their longest road
trip of the season. Scott, your eyes are always everywhere
and in the building last night, so you spotted one
Victor full of depot. We've obviously seen Victor in the
news a little bit here, a workout in Vegas. Whatever
that rumor was about the Pacers. You make anything of

(20:32):
Victor Oladipo being back in Indianapolis.

Speaker 9 (20:36):
Yeah, it was very odd. Was and then I was like, huh,
what are you doing here? So I shot him a
message and he said, enjoying the game.

Speaker 3 (20:45):
That's it. He said.

Speaker 9 (20:46):
He's on the grind right now, trying to return. He
really wants to play again. And so the thing I
liked KB is that he got back with his trainer,
David Alexander down there in Miami, and that's the guy
that those two when they were working together, really it
ended right during his early stretch with the Pacers, and

(21:08):
I thought that's when he was the best, in the
best shape and such in particular. But whether it means
anything necessarily, I haven't been able to connect the dots
just yet, but it definitely raised my eyebrows, just because
right now seems like odd timing. The only thing I
could also see is right now is a lot a

(21:28):
typical time when so many alums will go back. So
maybe he's going down to Bloomington. We'll spend some time
down there, you know, with guys like a Cody Zeller,
Jordan Holes. I'm not sure when the IU alumni golf
outing is like they hold annually. It's something I'm going
to look into here today. But in terms of the Pacers,
I mean, it's something yes, you look into and you're

(21:50):
you're you're curious about, but I don't I don't see
a partnership continuing there. I'm not sure. I the Pacers
have a there's such a good spot from where they
were last season that I think you just build upon
what you have and you know exactly what you're going
to get. Although I will say we do know this

(22:11):
front office is still looking for another guard to potentially
compliment what they can do in that backcourt.

Speaker 5 (22:16):
Yeah, frankly, it just makes no sense to me. One
more Scott, I guess kind of more Fever related, and
I forget which Pacers coach I'm quoting here, but do
you think with Caitlin Clark are we talking in days?
Are we talking in weeks? Are we talking in months?
I you know, right now we're about two weeks. If

(22:37):
I kind of threw those time lines, if you will
at you, you would say.

Speaker 9 (22:40):
What, Yeah, that was the old TJ. Warren thing. I'm
trying to forget J.

Speaker 3 (22:45):
Warren. Thank you.

Speaker 5 (22:47):
Yeah, I was wondering who that was.

Speaker 9 (22:49):
Yeah, it was about TJ.

Speaker 3 (22:50):
Warren.

Speaker 9 (22:50):
Yeah, absolutely, No, we're talking about weeks right now, and
that's where we're at. I think everything I've heard, by
the way, very encouraging and think you can also see
that a little bit on our face during games is
she's able to relax and enjoy these knowing she is
taking this moment for her body, needs to get it right,
needs to get ample treatment daily as she is, and

(23:12):
this team will be better off for her when she
can return healthy and comfortable within her body, rather than
rushing back, not feeling right and slowing and holding them back.

Speaker 2 (23:22):
Quite Frankly and Scott not only on a three game
winning streak, but really they've won eight of their last twelve,
not including the Commissioner's Cup win over Minnesota, much of
that without Caitlyn Clark. What will it be like when
she is ready to reintegrate.

Speaker 9 (23:36):
Yeah, and that's the thing you do wonder about because
whenever that does happen, look, you'll be clearly making a
playoff push at that time, and you hate to disrupt things.
Yet at the same time, we all understand for them
to have become a contending team again, that Caitlyn's got
to be back into the fold, and so I think
it'll be imperative for both sites to give in a

(23:58):
little like Kaitlyn can't come back and immediately take over
all responsibilities and handle everything like she's so used to doing,
because this team has found something here without her and
they'll be better in the long run having more of
a balanced situation and Kelsey Mitchell stepping up the way
she has. So I think that will be probably the

(24:19):
next step in the young rowth of her career is
maybe having to give a little here to finish off
this season, but knowing her being out there makes them
such so much more of a threat to win games
and to advance throughout the playoffs.

Speaker 2 (24:35):
No question about that, anything else you want to one,
James Scott, I don't really have a question.

Speaker 7 (24:40):
I just have a statement to say. You know, I
really appreciate the coverage at field House Files and also
the thoroughness in which you do the coverage, because for
those who don't know, we should on presso will Scott Agnes.
He's got the laptop, he's got the iPad, he got
the binoculars that you can see. I feel like heaven
with if you look up to the sky. So the
man does the job to the highest degree. So I'll
keep it my man.

Speaker 9 (25:01):
I appreciate it, and you would. You would recognize this
as well. I tried to get Jwana Bonner to clarify
her situation.

Speaker 2 (25:07):
I was in the hallway.

Speaker 3 (25:08):
I think I.

Speaker 9 (25:09):
Appreciate pr of the Mercury making her available and get this, James,
I go. I even I thought this question out because
I didn't want to be one sided by any means.
I said, what changed for the moment you joined here
to the moment you wanted out? Talk about the game?
What do you want to ask about the game? Okay,
question what was recep What was this reception like? Was

(25:31):
it emotional coming back or what were your feelings throughout
the game? Talk about the game?

Speaker 3 (25:36):
Talk about all right?

Speaker 9 (25:37):
And then she said I was trying to start stuff
when in turn. I was trying to end the narrative
that people create when there is a lack of information
out there. So we tried on that front, James, and
you don't always win.

Speaker 7 (25:50):
Hey, valiant effort. We appreciate this time, Scott, and I'll
shall to you soon. I've been, you know, sweating with
Kevin Bowen here at Colts Camp. But I'll be back
around pretty soon, man. But in the meantime, I keep up.

Speaker 2 (25:59):
With great work, beautiful.

Speaker 3 (26:00):
Thank you guys.

Speaker 2 (26:02):
Market's your turn to shine.

Speaker 9 (26:04):
Man.

Speaker 2 (26:04):
I know you've been thinking deep thoughts and you need
you need answers to questions. We're here to help you.

Speaker 1 (26:09):
He's got questions.

Speaker 2 (26:11):
How about a game?

Speaker 1 (26:11):
They have got answers. I'm more of a you know,
corn hole man myself. Sports music, movies, what what high fashion.

Speaker 5 (26:20):
That hantsl so hot right now?

Speaker 1 (26:22):
And everything in between. You foot with four two. It's
time to get a glimpse into the mind of Mark
dyked In. Stop it, you're scaring me. It's time for
I gotta know, okay.

Speaker 6 (26:35):
You punk, I want a good, clean fight. But let's
get it all.

Speaker 10 (26:40):
All right, boys. Bernard Ryman got his contract extension. Who's
the next cult to get new paper.

Speaker 6 (26:49):
Who's the next colt to get new paper? Hmmm. I
might lean towards Alec Pears. You've got a really good camp.

Speaker 7 (26:59):
If he has a good season to stay as healthy,
could he be someone that cashes in next offseason. I
don't think anybody else is getting an extension just yet.
I think next year's one we'll see more of.

Speaker 5 (27:10):
The fireworks contract here for Braden Smith. Correct, Yes, you
know he didn't sound like a guy James to me
earlier this week. That's walking up the eighteenth holl. I
mean he sounded like a guy now again, you know,
getting in his life in order. I guess you know
that obviously is party number one. But he feels like
he's in a great spot. And you know, Braiden Smith
did play every single snap but one. We're talking north

(27:34):
of seven hundred snaps last year before he left the team,
so health wise he had a pretty good year. I
feel like Quentin Nelson is sneakily doing extension here somewhat soon,
and he might look at the all good mind money
and go there. The Ale Pierce thing I think will
be so fascinating again. When we had Rick Venturi on
a couple of days ago. I mean I think he expressed, yeah,

(27:55):
you know, if it's going to be an Alex Peers
or Michael Pittman junior, he would probably lean or towards Pierce.
So that's a good question mark because I don't think
there's an outright obvious one with that.

Speaker 2 (28:07):
Yeah, I think you're right to stay on the offensive
line because we talked about the fact that they're still
looking for their center. Maybe the right guard is up
for grabs. I would think you would to stay consistent,
And I think it feels like a fresh start, especially
for Braden Smith. And I think if he comes out
and he does Braiden Smith things, I think he's probably
the guy's.

Speaker 11 (28:26):
Going get it, don't you.

Speaker 2 (28:27):
I mean, we know that Chris Ballard likes his offensive lineman.

Speaker 5 (28:30):
He does.

Speaker 6 (28:31):
He loves the trenches, all right, high noon.

Speaker 10 (28:34):
The Vodka Seltzer company, I did put out a warning
to customers saying some of their cans have been mislabeled
as Celsius Energy Drinks. Now I was wondering why I
was saying double because I had had a Celsius the
other day and luckily I was the only one in studio.
But I was like, what is going on here? Have
you guys ever drank something like that? Doesn't taste right?

(28:54):
Something's off here?

Speaker 5 (28:56):
Yeah, I am beyond milk, trying to think who was.

Speaker 4 (29:02):
What?

Speaker 5 (29:02):
We were at a graduation party and in high school
and unbeknownst to me, I ate like some spicy Checks
mix and just kind of reached down on the table
and there's a lot of drinks on the table, thinking
I was picking up water and you know, just kind
of sweed it down, just one of those like hey,
I need to get a little water in me, you know,

(29:22):
because this Checks mix is super spicy and it was
vodka oof, And I'm like, oh my gosh, and I
got a bad I mean, gohe and clip this market.
I got a bad gag reflex and boy, I mean
I sprinted right right away to the bathroom, and you know,
just so awkward here. I am like trying to wear
like a nice polo at a you know, graduation party

(29:42):
here and I look like an absolute idiot. So yeah,
that's probably last time I remember that. I.

Speaker 10 (29:49):
Oh, I had this drink I had. I had to
drink next to me and this is what the kids
and everything like that. But I had just a drink
it was just like water, bottle of water, and so
I thought I was just gonna drink a sip of water.
I drank it and I spit it out and I
started gagging and everything like that, and I was like,
what the hell was that. One of my daughters, unknownst
to me when I left the room, put vinegar in

(30:10):
the water, and so I ingested God knows how much vinegar.

Speaker 5 (30:13):
That's banned the birthday presence for a year.

Speaker 10 (30:17):
I was like, what was that, and like, oh, we're
just dumping stuff and I said, oh my god. Another
time I grabbed one, they had chunks of food in
it and I started drinking.

Speaker 2 (30:24):
I was like, what is this?

Speaker 10 (30:25):
And my daughter, who was young at the time and
not eating all her food before, I was like, this
is vile.

Speaker 5 (30:32):
It sounds like you got I mean, you don't have
three boys, you have three.

Speaker 6 (30:36):
I just started looking.

Speaker 1 (30:37):
Man, I know they're trying to kill me.

Speaker 2 (30:39):
Apparently those are going to be world ready though for anything.

Speaker 5 (30:42):
Yeah, checked my water with Nora and studio man oh Man, James, I.

Speaker 7 (30:46):
Haven't really had this experience, to be honest with you,
Like I said, I don't drink. I haven't had any
issues there. I guess the only time I ever really
felt weird was when I I guess the only time
I have drank is when we doing Holy Community and
I churned to normally do with grape juice and one
day they had wine and it's just a little bit,
but dang like it burned going down.

Speaker 6 (31:05):
I was like, what the heck was that?

Speaker 3 (31:06):
That?

Speaker 2 (31:07):
That isn't a Welch's.

Speaker 7 (31:08):
And my mom was like, boy, you know, just never
drink because you you can't take anything, you know. And
so that was my one experience perhaps, and I was
I'm in the Lord's House feeling the burn.

Speaker 6 (31:17):
I was thinking, this is what sin feels like. I
don't want this.

Speaker 10 (31:20):
Prayers and partying with James.

Speaker 6 (31:21):
Boy, there you go, do communion with me.

Speaker 1 (31:24):
Mark.

Speaker 2 (31:25):
You remember the old Orange Crush. Oh yeah, so I
was a big fan as a as a kid, a
high school kid orange Crush. We're playing flag football and
have my Orange Crush over on the sideline and time
out comes and I go over there to get a
drink and it was being there that stung me at
the top of my mouth. That's probably the worst thing
I've ever ingested that.

Speaker 5 (31:48):
This year. So that was not right.

Speaker 2 (31:49):
Yes, that did not go right.

Speaker 5 (31:51):
This year from Brandon And honestly, this is probably the
one that like, I have heard some form of this before.
I never dipped, and really not many of my friends.
Really different, but braind and chiming in here he goes
out a buddy in high school that reached for a
coke bottle thinking it was coke keeper Kyle vomited because
it was Mark Dyk. And you've got people really feeling
all the ballot early.

Speaker 10 (32:12):
I was thinking my friend Adam when we worked at
the country club back in the day. Was the end
of the night and he you know, you can grab
a drink after the bar, after we're clothes and stuff
like that. So he's grabbing a drink, didn't know that
the bar the glass grabbed was still had been used,
drank it. He spit something out.

Speaker 3 (32:29):
What was that?

Speaker 10 (32:29):
It was a cigarette but in his drink, Like, oh god.

Speaker 11 (32:33):
That's still that's a little bit shy though a dip.

Speaker 5 (32:37):
The dippers horror a man, well one of the queasier
I got a nose here from Mark Dyon. Thank you,
let's keep it wrong.

Speaker 2 (32:43):
Last time. I got a little queezy right there just hearing.

Speaker 10 (32:45):
That, all right, Jim Urse's house is for sale. I
don't know if you guys saw, but the twelve million
dollar price tag is out there.

Speaker 5 (32:52):
Does that include the zamb bone or the Yeah, I
guess the drink is the ice drink in that?

Speaker 10 (32:57):
I would have to imagine. So, right, if you're buying
twelve million dollar for the house and the property, you're
getting the whole shebang, are you not?

Speaker 8 (33:03):
So?

Speaker 10 (33:03):
I don't know if you've seen the pictures. If you haven't,
you should check them out because it looks immaculate. If
you could take one thing from that mansion, like one
of the things, whether it's the zamboni or the Colts
themed basketball court or a very nice looking pool or
something like that, what would you guys take basketball court?

Speaker 11 (33:19):
I've always wanted a basketball court on property always.

Speaker 6 (33:23):
Well, you all know how much I love basketball.

Speaker 5 (33:27):
James Boyd, Yeah too, right, I believe so. It obviously
butts up to a great.

Speaker 10 (33:32):
Private par three golf golf hole.

Speaker 5 (33:34):
I don't know. Can you imagine driving the zamboni? How
cool would that be? If I'm not mistaken, I believe
it's a Colt's theme zamboni as well. I mean you
imagine having like your friends over and you're like driving
the zamboni. I mean, there's no way that would end well.
Would you imagine how cool that would be.

Speaker 11 (33:48):
We need to figure out a way for you to
drive the zamboni at a fuel Get.

Speaker 2 (33:52):
Oh, I'm all in, we need to do that.

Speaker 5 (33:54):
How do I sign up for that?

Speaker 3 (33:55):
I don't.

Speaker 2 (33:55):
We need to have like a fan night at the field.

Speaker 6 (33:58):
Get you tell me twice.

Speaker 5 (34:00):
I think I want this. And again, it's not a house,
it's a compound. I mean that thing is a huge acreage.

Speaker 6 (34:05):
I think nine point four gated acres.

Speaker 10 (34:07):
I want the movie theater, the movie theater with the
speakeasy attached to it.

Speaker 3 (34:11):
I want that.

Speaker 11 (34:11):
Give me that thing.

Speaker 2 (34:13):
Watch all the wrestling.

Speaker 3 (34:14):
Pay per views there. That'd be Oh god, that'd be
so great. All right.

Speaker 10 (34:18):
The mount Rushmore of Indiana Athletes. I was thinking about
this the other day. There's all these mount Rushmore lists
for the summer, and like we always go, oh, the
Mountain Rushmore of Indiana Sports, and you put Bob Knight
up there and everything like that. I'm saying, no coaches,
just Indiana athletes. Who's the mount Rushmore? And you're saying
all the time, not just present all time. Probably start
with Peyton, right, you tell me it's your Mount Rushmore,

(34:39):
Will you go first, Jeff.

Speaker 2 (34:40):
I'm gonna go all right, I'm gonna go with Peyton, Reggie,
Rick Mount, and oh the fourth one's gonna be tough.

Speaker 3 (34:55):
Boy.

Speaker 11 (34:55):
So many different ways you go.

Speaker 2 (34:56):
I don't know who's a fourth one.

Speaker 11 (34:59):
I have one think about James.

Speaker 5 (35:01):
I probably get a little bit of a growing up
in the state. It's probably a little easier for me
to rack the brain a little bit. So James, Peyton,
and Reggie seem rather.

Speaker 10 (35:13):
Yeah, those seems I feel like those two are everybody's
I went with athletes that were born in in Indiana.

Speaker 7 (35:21):
I went, I didn't want to choose Peyton, then one
choose Reggie. I felt that was too easy, Tamika and others.
So I have Oscar Robertson.

Speaker 11 (35:30):
That's what I would saying that that'd be my fourth.

Speaker 6 (35:33):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (35:35):
John Wooden the player was a very you know back
in the day. Larry Bird, I feel like has to
be on the list because it's Larry obviously. And then
my last one, I went with all basketball because you know,
I'm a huge basketball dude.

Speaker 6 (35:52):
Damon Bailey.

Speaker 2 (35:54):
I thought about it my fourth one.

Speaker 5 (35:55):
Yeah, the Mount Bailey thing, I mean you're going to
talk about it from a high school standpoint, Yeah, I
mean the height.

Speaker 7 (36:00):
Is still talked about, and rightfully so as a legend.
Had over forty thousand people watching his high school games
they won the state championship. He is the all time
leading men's basketball scorer boys basketball scorer in state history.
And I mean anybody you talk to, or at least
in my experience here since moving to Indianapolis, they will

(36:22):
tell you a story about that man, and honestly, and
when you read about him, it sounds like like a
folk hero. And so I think when it comes to
Mount Rushmore, he's my dark horse on that list because
he was the best.

Speaker 5 (36:34):
Yeah, a obscur Larry Peyton, Reggie, those are kind of
the four that immediately came to mind. Obviously gets into
some technicalities with you know, where people are born. It
is kind of funny to think, like if you projected
just anybody that had a cup of coffee here, like
I mean Gretzky, I thought about that, right, and what
if all of a sudden one of the greatest pictures

(36:56):
of all time, which again we're still premature with this,
but like what a Paul Skins goes down?

Speaker 9 (37:00):
Is that?

Speaker 5 (37:00):
You know again cuple of coffee?

Speaker 6 (37:03):
Here's one.

Speaker 5 (37:03):
I mean like it's you know, he obviously played won
a national title, but I mean Isaiah, I mean he
was all about one of the greatest point guards the
game has ever seen. And you know what will Caitlyn
Clark go into you know, think you know what will
I don't know Tyrs Halliburn growing too, but you know
I think another person that just underrated wise would be slick,
you know, throwing him amount rush more.

Speaker 2 (37:24):
This doesn't happen without.

Speaker 5 (37:25):
You know, Mark obviously prefaced that from more of a
and he you know, was a great player, but prefaced
it more from a non coaching standpoint.

Speaker 7 (37:31):
Last, but not least, what oh sorry, go ahead real quick, Mark,
Lauren Holliday to get female out there. You know, two
time Olympic champion, won a World Cup and she went
to Ben Davis High School, Indianapolis Natives.

Speaker 5 (37:43):
My dad's favorite student, Lauren Chaney back in the day. Exactly,
so King, Lily King. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (37:49):
Last, but at least, what are we watching?

Speaker 10 (37:51):
I need some streaming suggestion?

Speaker 5 (37:53):
Boys, I told you guys to watch Happy to get
more to the other night. Yeah, and then and I'm,
you know, golfer. Then I saw watching Full Swing.

Speaker 7 (38:01):
I finished up Squad Games Mark. I am much more
shallow than how the season ended. I'll just leave it
at that for no spoilers. And currently I'm catching up
on Black Mirror. But I don't think that the new
seasons really fit the old writers or whatever. I haven't
been as impressed with that. And I'm gonna start mob
Land pretty soon here.

Speaker 2 (38:22):
I just started watching finally late Quarterback this this new season.
I need to start watching that.

Speaker 5 (38:28):
The more I like.

Speaker 2 (38:29):
The more I watched Quarterback, the more I like Kirk Cousins.

Speaker 5 (38:31):
Like that's my brother in law was saying, I like
the Kirk Cousins, James, you and I think we're watching
that. That Andy Dalton clip on the field. You know, I
thought that was really real of like, you know, hey,
how you doing? Man about the benching? And I thought
Cousins was really good in that moment, you know, really
being vulnerable explaining to Dalton how he felt.

Speaker 2 (38:47):
He came back for a second season.

Speaker 11 (38:48):
How about that?

Speaker 2 (38:49):
That was crazy too. And then you know, I'm a
big Maggie Q fans. She's in a new series called
Ballard where she Chris plays.

Speaker 10 (38:55):
That's a really interesting documentary choice, Chris Ballard getting his own.

Speaker 5 (39:00):
Back for a ninth year.

Speaker 11 (39:01):
No, it's Maggie Q plays a technic ballad.

Speaker 5 (39:04):
I was joking.

Speaker 2 (39:05):
No, I know you were.

Speaker 10 (39:06):
I was just explaining that mine is WW unreal to
new Netflix series Peyton Manning, Executive. It is a look
legit look behind the cameras and all that from what
goes on behind the TV. So obviously wrestling is predetermined,
but they go about all the ins and outs of
how they determine storylines and all that stuff. You get
to learn about all the faces behind the characters and

(39:29):
all that stuff. We're two episodes in. It is fantastic.
It is very very good. It is unedited, so it
is a hard knocks style look at ww's behind the scenes.
And episode two prominently features Indianapolis with the Royal Rumble episode,
so very very well done. There are I think five
episodes total. We are two episodes in.

Speaker 11 (39:47):
It is very very good.

Speaker 2 (39:48):
And that's in Omaha Productions, right, Yes, so.

Speaker 6 (39:49):
Payton every time he's putting credits, Peyton Manning is right.

Speaker 2 (39:52):
There can producing stuff, a lot of great stuff.

Speaker 9 (39:55):
They got it.

Speaker 10 (39:55):
He's got a hip hop one coming out too, about
El Cool Jay that is coming out soon. Then I'm
very excited about as well.
