Speaker 1 (00:00):
Siakam drives it pulls up twenty feet away, tie ball game,
five seconds to play. Here comes along three. It's an airball,
rebounded by Siakam, and we go to overtime. We're down
to seventeen seconds left in the overtime as mather And drives,
slips inside of Gilgess Alexander and scores from the dotted

(00:21):
half circle. Both cap tied with nine seconds to go.
Shot clock off Oklahoma sid He missed a chance to
tie at the end of regulation.

Speaker 2 (00:29):
Here comes Gilgas.

Speaker 1 (00:30):
Alexander rolls it off the rim, tipped out to the
wing home. Grin can't get the shot off before time expires.
Three forty two left in the overtime. He got into
the lane, this time his left hand betrayed him. Rebound.
Topping gets three on one to the other end, top
of the Siaka.

Speaker 3 (00:45):
Back to Toppin, who caught.

Speaker 2 (00:47):
It and dumping right in front.

Speaker 1 (00:49):
Here's Topping into the fore court, attacking immediately down the
left side. He lays it into the left hand. He
has scored twenty the paces within four and now on
the inbound what do we have?

Speaker 2 (01:00):
The thunder call the time out.

Speaker 1 (01:03):
They just about turned.

Speaker 2 (01:04):
It over and back forward.

Speaker 1 (01:05):
But the ruling on the floor is that Oklahoma City
called the time out that was a turnover. The only
question is the time out was called first?

Speaker 4 (01:15):
Well, were you giving an explanation for your no timeout
or the one that Winobi caught the steal both of
those plays at any point the game.

Speaker 5 (01:21):
I'm not talking about the refs.

Speaker 6 (01:22):
If I talk about the refs, I'll get fined an
exorbitant amount of money.

Speaker 2 (01:31):
The only thing missing was no disrespect to rats. Good
Friday morning to you. We are closing out the week
right here. It'll be US three once again, Kevin Bowen,
James Boyd and Mark Dyked And James asked you a
few weeks ago when the last time you hooped was
you might need to board the plane for some point
guard minutes coming up on this road trip.

Speaker 3 (01:53):
Yeah, this is getting real, bleak man.

Speaker 7 (01:55):
I know I made the joke about Russell Westbrook weeks
ago and I'm not bringing that up again.

Speaker 3 (01:59):
But just the lack of bodies they have at that position.

Speaker 7 (02:02):
When it comes to Andrew Nimhar going down last night
with a left shoulder injury. Rick Carlisle didn't have an
update after the game, so that he'll get evaluated more today,
but says something along the lines of this could be
a big test for us, a big challenge for us
in the absence of Aaron I'm sorry, not Aaron E.

Speaker 3 (02:20):
Smith, but Andrew Nimhart. So tough go.

Speaker 2 (02:23):
Yeah, that is an understatement. So we'll recap everything, get
you set for of course, week eight in the NFL.
I don't think a whole lot of Friday injury debates
for the Colts, but we'll chat about that and look
ahead to the four to twenty five matchup between Colts
and Titans coming up on Sunday. But let's go back
to last night, and certainly, you know there's a lot
that I thought to myself, boy, different years, same old Pacers,

(02:45):
just gutty, gritty as hell, taking every punch, punching back
time and time again. And reminded to myself of as
much as we'd bitch and moan about the fan dual
Ballely TV subscription, they should give us heart medication to
go with it when you're having to watch this Pacers team.
Matherin Siakam incredible. I actually think Taylor Peter's got a

(03:06):
little game to him. I don't know if the box
score showed that last night. But damn man, I as
much as like I want to celebrate some of that stuff, James,
I just can't get over where they're at from a
health standpoint a point, guard I mean, the biggest news
item of the night is Andrew Nemhard and whatever injury
state he's in. I mean, you are beyond scrambling mode.
I don't even know what the rules allow you to do,

(03:27):
Like can you bring campaign back today?

Speaker 7 (03:30):
Honestly, I feel like Tony used to be a better
person asked that question, because he's all over that, you know,
when it comes to contract situations and different rules and stipulations,
and the NBA I think is more complicated than the
NFL in that regard. But yes, Kevin, I think you
have to kind of revisit all of the options.

Speaker 5 (03:46):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (03:47):
So again, Andrew Nemhard left. I guess he really never
left the game per se with an obvious injury. It
looked like he did get hurt at one point in
the first half, Guardian Jay Gilles Alexander and and he
stayed in through the entire first half and then was
ruled out at the start of the third quarter. And
you had Ben Sheppard getting point guard minutes then, And

(04:09):
you know, one thing that was as much as the
grit in the guttiness, James was so Pacers like from
previous years. The one thing that was not was the
beautiful offensive flow that we're used to. I mean, for
those who watched the game last night, the Pacers scored,
but they scored because Benedict Matherin and Pascal Siakam are
beyond gifted as one on one players. They only had

(04:31):
nineteen assist in regulation. For those that maybe that number
doesn't resonate, that would have been their second fewest in
any game last season. So they were a one on
one basketball team for the most part. The flow with
the lack of point guards certainly is going to be
a question until they get healthy. And TJ mcconnald's not
going to be back for at least a couple of weeks,
and obviously we'll await the status on Andrew Emhard.

Speaker 7 (04:52):
Yeah, and I mean we didn't even talk about it
there in the first few minutes. But also SGA Shay
gilse Aallexander dropped fifty five with twenty six free throws,
a career high in both categories for him. I know
when he walked off the floor last night, he got
booed mercilessly, because if you're a Thunder fan, you love
what he's doing. If you're a Pacers fan, you're like, really,

(05:15):
I got to deal with this again after just seeing
it in the finals four months ago. And it's a
weird brand of basketball. It is special. I have to
admit that. Any time you dropped fifty five, yes, but man,
that was such a weird game. So when Rick Carlisle wentz,
I will not go there because I will lose money,

(05:36):
I was like, I understand because they're not just the
SGA stuff, but just some of the calls. Obviously, the
timeout slash Obie stole it moment was a big one
because when that happened, oh boy, Kevin, I was thinking, oh,
here come these papers.

Speaker 2 (05:50):
Hey can I make.

Speaker 7 (05:52):
A PSA announcement. I don't want to grandstand too often.
Here on one to seven by the fan, But to
the fans who were leaving early without small children, I'm like,
what are we doing trying to beat the traffic or something.

Speaker 3 (06:05):
I get it. If you have to work the next day,
responsibilities whatnot?

Speaker 7 (06:09):
Opening night? You got to you got to say committed
to that. You gotta stay.

Speaker 3 (06:12):
Till the end. You had people.

Speaker 7 (06:14):
I saw people who got it by their seats after
I want to say, towards the end of the first
in regulation and we're getting ready to leave, Pacers making
interesting at the ends, Pascal si documents a jumper. All
of a sudden, people start waving back down to their seats.

Speaker 3 (06:28):
Stick with this team. Have you learned nothing?

Speaker 5 (06:31):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (06:31):
I think opening night that's a big no no. Come
on now, buzzer should go off if you're trying to
walk out.

Speaker 3 (06:35):
I was different here. Let's live up to a reputation.

Speaker 2 (06:38):
Of the arena.

Speaker 8 (06:39):
It did look like almost like a preseason game attendance
wise near the end, like what happened.

Speaker 7 (06:44):
I know a lot of people left early, but man,
it was loud. You can tell just how much it
meant to that crowd. And I would say, in particular,
Bendic Matherin, he was going at lou door. They grew
up together. He was talking to talk walking the walk.
Oh boy, I'll tell you what. He might drive you
crazy in some moments, but that dude is talented.

Speaker 9 (07:04):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (07:04):
I mean, I don't know how you can say enough
good things about him and Siakam for what they did.
I hate to even bring this up because I thought
the end of the game sequences. Both Siakam and him
made very tough Shotsakam at the end of regulation there
over Chet and then Mathering at the end of overtime
to really force it into a second overtime. The one
possession I would like to have back was Pacers down one.

(07:27):
About twenty seconds to go in regulation, Siakam gets Chet
homegrin on him the first time. Oh yes, preach, and
I thought he settled immediately for the three. Yes, there
was still like six seven left, and I don't say
six to seven as that joke that all the young
kids do, but there was a little bit of time
you got yell my kids.

Speaker 8 (07:44):
Yet I'm gonna stop doing that, please, I can't take
it anymore. When you walk past an eleven year old
right now and not see that going.

Speaker 2 (07:50):
On, it means nothing. It means nothing, and it's not funny.

Speaker 7 (07:53):
Yeah, the jokes are getting stupider, And that's right, mom.
One time, I'll sound really old on the airwaves. But yeah,
I'm getting to that point.

Speaker 2 (07:59):
Yeah, I probably should get off our lawn here if
we want to get to the next generation. But that
one possession, I thought, oh, you're settling against Chet, like
just see if he can stay on his feet. And
obviously the second possession you got him on skates and boom,
you were able to get him on the ground and
hit the sixteen eighteen foot pull up there. That's maybe
the one. You know, if Siakam's able to work a
little bit more and again test Chet, then you're up

(08:21):
one with whatever twelve seconds to go. And you know,
I thought Jenny Busik did a great job and throwing
those doubles at Shay when the game was on the
line there. So again it's probably a small gripe, but
for the most part, you just it's a hat tip
once again to the incredible effort. It is absurd how
injured they are at point guard. Shout out to Jack
Doyle for giving us Jameson Brewer yesterday. I don't know

(08:43):
if Jamison Brewer still has his shoes that he gave
to Jack Doyle, or maybe Jack Doyle can give him
back to Jameson Brewer because the Pacers need point guard
help and they need a starting center that doesn't foul,
because Isaiah Jackson fouls more than I eat doritos. In
the weekend four thousand and eight minutes.

Speaker 3 (09:06):
Yeah, that was that was rough man.

Speaker 2 (09:08):
That's his IMO.

Speaker 7 (09:09):
I mean, like, okay, but here here's a stat for you.
That was crazy because I actually.

Speaker 2 (09:12):
This guy had nine thousand, like thirty five minutes in
the preseason.

Speaker 7 (09:15):
So I went through this because I had to work
this game for the athletic and Isaiah Jackson, Tony Bradley,
and Jay Huff combined for more thousand points last night,
eight fouls, seven points.

Speaker 3 (09:28):
Well, among your three centers that you played.

Speaker 2 (09:30):
And James, I think I said to you yesterday, give
me don't hack centers and rebound. Those are my two
before I even got to I think. I think I
asked for Jay Huff to hit an open shot, which
I believe he did hit one three. But those are
my first two asks. Isaiah Jackson in eight minutes in rebound,
Tony Bradley ten minutes, zero rebounds. Yeah, like that's what

(09:52):
they're out there to do.

Speaker 3 (09:54):
And so that no, I'm with you on that's that's
a bad look.

Speaker 2 (09:57):
But the biggest story line, unfortunate fly last it is
Andrew nmhart injury and how long is he going to
be out and what does that do for a Pacer
team that I think has a brutal start to the schedule.
So again there's I'm not having.

Speaker 7 (10:08):
Fun anymore with Pacers basketball. This is not it, man.
He hates on the game one. I just hate it
to be off the ledge.

Speaker 2 (10:13):
Again. It's so much of the off the court, it's
so much of the injury situation at point guard at
least right now. So we'll continue to recap a whole
lot of that and get your set for a football Friday.
James Boyd through some trade targets at us up up
on the Athletic we will go over a few of those.
Try to get to that eighty Mitchell audio here in
a little bit, and get your set for the final
practice of the week, Colts in Titans here as the

(10:36):
Chargers absolutely dominate the Vikings on Thursday night. Football might
be time for Carson Winston get healthy and head back
to Holiday Farms and see if you can get some
fall golf in here for the rest of the year.
We'll get you set with it all. It is a
football Friday. Kevin Bowe and James Boyd, Mark Dyton right
here on the fan.

Speaker 9 (10:55):
The morning checkdown on ninety sweet five and one oh
seven five.

Speaker 2 (11:00):
Never a shortage of entertainment when you're watching the Indiana Pacers,
and last night you got all of it. It did
not end in a win though, one one, one thirty
five double overtime, Shay Gilgess Alexander fifty five points. He
was at the foul line a ton. It ended up
being twenty three of twenty six from the line. Benedict

(11:21):
Mathern also at the foul line, a lot fifteen and seventeen.
He finished with thirty six. I believe I saw that
was the second most points for a pacer ever in
an opener, I would not have gotten number one. I
guess Jalen Rose out of forty Burger one night would
not have guessed that. Pascal Siakam thirty two. James Boyd
your grand takeaways from last night?

Speaker 3 (11:44):
You need point guards.

Speaker 7 (11:45):
Andrew nim Hard is now in kind of that limbo
where we have to figure out what's next with him
with his left shoulder.

Speaker 3 (11:53):
And then your sinners.

Speaker 7 (11:54):
You really miss Miles Turner, and it was very evident
from game one last night, I would agree.

Speaker 2 (12:00):
Can I also gripe about one thing from last night?

Speaker 3 (12:02):
Feel free?

Speaker 2 (12:02):
My friend the lefty point guard for the Thunder, Aj Mitchell.
Oh my gosh, the Pacers couldn't guard him.

Speaker 7 (12:10):
Okay, So I'm glad you brought this up because when
I was talking to other people throughout the game, shout
out to my god, Jamal Collier from ESPN, fellow Illinois
lump he covers.

Speaker 2 (12:21):
He's a smooth operator.

Speaker 3 (12:22):
Yeah, he's a cool dude. I was looking at him.
I said, dude, who is this guy?

Speaker 7 (12:27):
Why do the OKC Thunder always have some random person
that I've never heard of who's like really good? Because
even down the stretch, was it Aaron Wiggins who had
like some.

Speaker 2 (12:36):
Big dad the few threes in the final?

Speaker 7 (12:39):
I get that, But even in I'm like, isn't he enough?
So now you got some other guy who, again don't
know who he really is. He hit some big buckets
down the stretch as well, and so.

Speaker 3 (12:49):
Off the bench, I know they're loaded.

Speaker 8 (12:54):
My other big takeaways, Thunder can't keep up this pace
with double overtime games every single night.

Speaker 3 (12:59):
No, But to their credit, first.

Speaker 2 (13:01):
Time in NBA history, right teams started the season with
back to back.

Speaker 7 (13:03):
But they're also they're also banged up, like they were
down like four rotation guys, and they just said, all right,
I'm gonna just go get fouled.

Speaker 3 (13:10):
I wanna play basketball.

Speaker 2 (13:11):
Off today the Pacers and it's a road trip back
to back Saturday Sunday, Memphis Minnesota at Dallas Wednesday. And
if you are a point guard, go ahead and knock
on the same Vincent Center front door because the Pacers
need point guard. I said, I all seriousness, point guard
help is needed, all right. Final injury report of the
week coming later today for the Colts. James, I feel
like we aren't in a big debating Friday Josh down

(13:32):
seems to be trending in a good direction, you know.
Obviously Alec Pierce did have a set back a couple
of Fridays ago, but that seems to be going well.
Defensive end wise, it looks like will be down at
least one, if not two. A Taekwon lewis also missing
yesterday's practice. Samson Ebacom of course, is at week to
week and I would guess it'll be another week for
Jalen Jones. So I don't know Friday injury report. We've

(13:54):
sat here before here and I thought, oh boy, a
lot of questions today. I don't really feel that way.

Speaker 3 (13:59):
Yeah, not a lot of questions. I just think one
of the trickle down.

Speaker 7 (14:06):
Questions is what happens with jtt JT two molo out?
Do you give him more of an opportunity? And I
think in this case it makes sense to do that.
But what does that look like? Just because he's available?

Speaker 3 (14:18):
Do you use him? How many snaps as he played?

Speaker 7 (14:19):
Does he get a bigger opportunity again, especially against a
team that isn't very good quite frankly?

Speaker 3 (14:24):
So what does that mean for him?

Speaker 7 (14:25):
And can't he gain a bit of confidence going into
a bigger challenge the following week?

Speaker 2 (14:28):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (14:29):
Right now?

Speaker 2 (14:29):
I guess third defensive end for him, which definitely is
playing a good amount of rotational snaps. Titans again down
three of their top three highest paid guys. Coultar fourteen
and a half point favorite in this one.

Speaker 10 (14:41):
All right?

Speaker 2 (14:42):
Thursday night football? Last night? Chargers roll thirty seven to
ten or thirty?

Speaker 5 (14:46):
Was it?

Speaker 2 (14:46):
Thirty seven to ten? Is at the final there? Jason
Hammer two of three? Is that right? Mark Dyton? And
he hit the Benedict Mathern? Did you guys catch that?
Plus two? Ninety Mathern first three pointer by the Pacers
late Clock Beautiful by Jason Hammer Night World Series Game
one Blake Snelly Savage. If I saying that right, Trey

(15:09):
you Savage.

Speaker 3 (15:09):
I mean, I guess I'll trust you sure the hell
of the story.

Speaker 2 (15:13):
He's worked his way all the way up from single
A to the majors. This year he will be on
the mound for the Blue Jays, pitching at East Carolina.
Last year was great. I do remember him against the Yankees.
He was great against the Yankees earlier in the postseasons.
That's your matchup here, game one of the Fall Classic.
We'll get you set for the first night of the
IHSA State Football playoffs. Again. Just remind everybody as we've expanded,
and you know the re enrollments if you will, the

(15:35):
reclassifications if you will. It's pretty much a night for
the smaller schools. One A to four A. I think
we have one five A matchup. Not a lot of
local flavor, but we'll get you set. Greg greg Shaw
joined us at eight Dominic Miranda from WTHR. On the
other side and from a college standpoint, it is a
busy weekend down there in Bloomington. It will be big

(15:55):
noon kickoff tomorrow. Well over a three touchdown favorite Indiana
against UCLA and up in West Lafayette. It is homecoming.
Perdue is a slight underdog against Big ten winless Ruckers,
so something has to give in that. And speaking of Purdue,
they will get their basketball season started exhibition wise tonight

(16:18):
in Rup. Matt Painter announcing yesterday the starting five for
the Boilers to begin the season. Braden Smith, Fletcher Lawyer,
and Trey Kaufman Ren are the obvious ones. Transfer Oscar
Kluff from South Dakota State. Matt Painter a big fan
of his rebounding, he will be a starting big. And
then CJ. Cox, who I have labeled as Andrew Nemhart

(16:39):
of the Purdue boiler Makers. I love me some CJ. Cox.
He will be the fifth starter there. Riley burd is
gonna take a red shirt. So that's tonight six o'clock.
I want to say it's SEC network for Purdue in Indiana.
They've got their exhibition game with Baylor over at Gamebridge
Field House. That's Sunday afternoon at one o'clock. I don't
think this is normal, normal Baylor, or at least what
maybe we've been u with them. I saw they were

(17:01):
pick to finish kind of middle of the pack in
the Big twelve and kind of where Indiana was in
receiving votes. Left it for anything that you guys would
like to add from the storyline that broke yesterday when
we were on the show after twenty four hours to
learn more and digest it all, where are we at
with Terry Rogier, Chauncey Billups, Damon Jones, and the Italian Mafia.

Speaker 7 (17:26):
I'll say this reading through the affidavit, especially when it
comes to Chuncey Billups, who has never named, but they
made it very clear like, oh, this person was an
NBA veteran who played from this year to this year
and is currently an NBA head coach.

Speaker 3 (17:42):
I'm like, okay, well that's Chauncey Billie and went to Colorado.

Speaker 2 (17:44):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (17:45):
It sounds like he really made some very very poor
decisions telling people about players who weren't going to play
that he was coaching. And I think from their perspective
the court, they're going to be like, oh, he wasn't
aware of what was going on. It is hard to

(18:05):
argue that given the amount of evidence that they kind
of laid out in the Affidavid, So, yeah, I saw
Josina Anderson put out some tweet or some quote that
she got from NBA GM and it said something about like, oh,
he'll be fine.

Speaker 3 (18:18):
And every single reply.

Speaker 7 (18:19):
To that tweet, which I thought was honestly comedic, was like, no,
he will not be fine.

Speaker 3 (18:23):
You aren't being investigated by the FBI.

Speaker 2 (18:25):
I had to laugh yesterday because the Rosier stuff broke
at like whatever eight ten or something like that, when
when we were in a segment the Billups news broke
during the commercial, I was doing a live read and
all of a sudden, I'm doing the live read and
James Boyd's face. One of my favorite gifts out there,
Mark dythan Is is the Northwestern Kid. When they showed

(18:45):
the crowd of the Northwestern Kid like the cam I leave,
he's like half crying, half like just he's hysteric. That
was James Boyd's face as he's reacting, and I'm like,
oh my gosh, I've got to get this live read
over to figure out what the news was.

Speaker 7 (18:58):
I feel like Chauncey Billups has like if the Pacers
had one game seven, they would have had a championship.
That's similar to what the Pistons did were they won
one in this eraw where you had Shack, Tim Duncan
Chauncey Bilch was the finals MVP without being an All
Star that year. I'm like, what, that's the lore that
I remember you for? And now I'm thinking, are you

(19:18):
a fraud? What's going on there?

Speaker 3 (19:20):
Why would you make that decision?

Speaker 7 (19:22):
And in the length of you know, the cheating like
X ray tables, contacts and glasses marked.

Speaker 3 (19:30):
On this morning? What kind of glasses you got?

Speaker 2 (19:34):
Boy never wears glasses, and all of a sudden he's
rocking them today. I'm a little nervous.

Speaker 3 (19:37):
Honestly, it's because I went to It's so late after
that game right in the story.

Speaker 2 (19:41):
But he's getting debit card information.

Speaker 3 (19:43):
Yeah, what you know it is? It's x ray vision
glasses KB.

Speaker 2 (19:46):
You know pretty good. I'm gonna put the backpack underneath
the table. My most disappointing element if yesterday, was seeing
the Trailblazers not promote Nate Bjorkron to be there. So
Mark dyked in if we could get a little already
on that t Igo Splinter forgot about that name.

Speaker 3 (20:02):
It sounds like x ray table.

Speaker 2 (20:03):
I mean that is like James Bond kind of stuff.

Speaker 3 (20:07):
Yeah, and I'm thinking, dag all this cheating, how did
how did you get caught? Who snitched.

Speaker 2 (20:13):
Again? Italian Mafia, poker games, all of it. It's a lot, okay.
On the other side, we'll talk a little high school
football is again, we'll start the playoffs coming up later tonight.
Much more on the Pacers opener against the Thunder and
previewing Colts and Titans. Thanks for rounding out the week
with us. This is the Fan Morning Show.

Speaker 3 (20:29):
It's just about the readiness and the togetherness. They have
a very high care factor.

Speaker 9 (20:40):
If you were listening to a fan morning show on n.

Speaker 2 (20:47):
Well, the busy Friday for us here on the Fan,
we're getting you set for what is a loaded weekend. Again,
We're starting to get into these Pacers Colts overlaps and
just remind everybody for Sunday Colts Titans that is four
to twenty five kickoff that's gonna be available on our
sister station that is ninety seven point one Hank FM.
It all start twelve thirty. Jani's got you going the

(21:09):
ride to kick off that will be here on the
Fan and then Colts game on Hank FM ninety seven
point one. Why because Pacers t will second out of it,
back to back up there in the Land of Lakes
six thirty pm. The coverage will begin on the fans.
So Pacers here Colts ninety seven point one coming up

(21:30):
on Sunday. A little crispier than maybe what we've had
throughout the football season, but I think very fitting for
playoff weather. Let's head of the payless lickers hotline right
now from WHR. Operation football continues. As we are in
playoff season. The one, the only dominic Miranda is with
us dominant. Good morning, sir, Good morning, What a morning.

Speaker 5 (21:53):
Indeed the christ it feels good outside.

Speaker 11 (21:56):
I gotta tell you, I was begging for it and
now I'm like, oh man, it's cold everything the old day, now,
isn't it?

Speaker 5 (22:00):
So love it? Not complaining about it?

Speaker 11 (22:04):
Fall weather football playoffs got a little basketball sprinkled in.
Had to stay up for the Pacers last night. I
had to so great morning this morning. And we've named
a Spirit Award champ. How about that?

Speaker 3 (22:16):
All right? Well, get to that.

Speaker 2 (22:18):
Should we set that up a little? Should you hand
it out hardware here? Do you want to is this
team potentially playing tonight?

Speaker 11 (22:26):
The team is playing tonight. It's actually our game of
the week tonight. That was that was a coincidence, that
was not on purpose. But the Mooresville Pioneers are our
Spirit Award champ Operation Football twenty twenty five.

Speaker 5 (22:41):
Unbelievable energy. Those guys were awesome.

Speaker 2 (22:44):
Spirit spirit, Yes we do spirit spirit. How about you?

Speaker 11 (22:48):
And you know didn't didn't hate the crowdsurfing? Did it
win it for him? Who's to say, but it was awesome.
I mean, we presented the trophy on Tuesday, we aired
it this morning. I'm gonna I'm gonna put on social
media here shortly. Great administration, great students, seriously, so much fun.
More so Pioneer Spirit Work champs. And they play guitar tonight.

(23:08):
So big matchup, the tough matchup for sure, but we'll
see if they gets done.

Speaker 7 (23:13):
Shatard is always a machine, I feel like at this
time of the year. But to your point about the
cheers KB, that reminded me of how great the cheers
used to be at all the Geary basketball schools and
I was there. They were the rudest cheers ever. You'd
have a group of girls and needs a basket. A
guy goes out there for the game when you free
throws some three throws in the fourth quarter and they're
they're chanting, I.

Speaker 3 (23:33):
Bet you shoot a brick. I bet you shoot a brick.
And I'm like, oh, this is great, this is not
this is not nice at all.

Speaker 2 (23:40):
You know, I come from the class here r R R
E b R O jay man the basketball.

Speaker 7 (23:51):
The fact you can remember this and like all the
school songs is crazy. But getting back to the point here, Dominic,
what other games should we be locked into tonight? As
we know it's do or die at this point in
the season.

Speaker 11 (24:02):
Yeah, a couple of games we can't get to, and
it's one A through four. There's only one five a
game and that's white Land at Seymour. These games are
super spread out. It was not easy making the schedule
tonight for us. But that one we can't get to.
Garon Katholick plays Hamilton, Highest has another one that's interesting
that we can't get to. But as far as the

(24:23):
ones that we are going to outside of Chatara and Mooresville,
which happy to be boots on ground in Pioneer Country.
I love it down there, I truly do. Trees are
changing color, just welcoming as can be.

Speaker 5 (24:36):
There.

Speaker 11 (24:36):
They love thirteen now because of the Spirit Award. I'm
here for if flattery gets you everywhere, That's what I say.

Speaker 5 (24:42):
But anyway for it. We got four.

Speaker 11 (24:45):
We got Ron Coley and Northview ranked matchups, so I'm
actually gonna head to north View for that one because
I was very intrigued. Only it is a hall. Hey,
that's what we do here, man, That's what we do.
We stop at nothing to get to.

Speaker 5 (24:58):
Get you to to the north View.

Speaker 2 (25:00):
You guys have been on it this year, that's right.

Speaker 11 (25:03):
I think that's like one of the if not the
only ranked on ranked matchup tonight.

Speaker 5 (25:08):
So wanted to get that on the tube.

Speaker 11 (25:10):
Penalton Heights, Mount Vernon, Fortville, Indy Lutheran Covenant Christian Indy
Attics who's eight and one by the way, playing at
for buff So excited to get them on the screen
as well, Martinsville Greenwood and Newcastle at Greenfield Central.

Speaker 5 (25:23):
Just a great week to get some.

Speaker 11 (25:25):
Teams we haven't gotten a lot on TV, like Indie Lutheran.
We've had them on the scheduled and had to bump
the multiple times just for scheduling purposes. Getting addicts on
the TV. Very excited about that so good. Good week
for the one A through four A schools and just
setting the table for sectionals. Man, is there's no better
time in the year, in my opinion than than high

(25:47):
school football playoffs here in the great state of Indiana.

Speaker 2 (25:50):
Shout out to the fighting Mackenzie Wiser's Moresville the spirit
winner for Operation Football WTHR here in twenty twenty five. Dominic,
I know we're a week away, but I am absolutely
struck by what New Pal has done this season. So
I had to whip out the old calculator. Here their

(26:11):
point differential this season. They have scored, if I have
this correctly, four hundred and sixty eight points and have
allowed thirty eight four sixty eight to thirty eight in
nine football games this season. Have you come across Kyle

(26:33):
Raffs a bunch of all this year?

Speaker 11 (26:35):
Yes, a lot actually, And I remember going they were
a game of the week or they were in contentent
for game of the week. When they played Penalty Heights,
who was ranked in Class four A. I was like,
oh man, this might be a good game. Nope, wasn't.
Forty two to six. They're averaging fifty two points a game.
They're only giving up three point six. So to your point,

(26:58):
if you weren't gonna mention the point different rental, I
was going to. It is unlike anything I've ever seen.
Kyle Ralphs is one hundred and fifty and fourteen in
his time at New Pal with four state championships including
and they are already dipped into Class five A and one
two state back to back in twenty eighteen twenty nineteen.

(27:18):
So they're back in five A and just dominating people.
It is a shame to me that next week, unless
something crazy happens, are excuse me, in two weeks from now,
it's going to be New Pal and Cathedral for a
sectional title, when that for sure should be the.

Speaker 5 (27:38):
State championship in class five A.

Speaker 11 (27:39):
I don't know what that means. I don't know how
we can change that. That's above my pay grade. But
it just feels like that those are the two best
teams in five A bar none, and would love to
see that in the state championship rather than the sectional championship.
But Newpal is a bussaw to proportions I have not
seen in high school football. I mean, some of their
scores seventy one to nothing, seventy to nothing, sixty five

(28:01):
to three, fifty six to seven. I mean they haven't
had a game close. Their only close game is the
cater Central they won twenty eight to six, and that's
a six eighteen who won state last year. Oh, by
the way, I don't know. If they don't win state,
it'll be the biggest upset I've ever seen. So we'll
see unbelievable out of the out of newpal this year.

Speaker 7 (28:20):
I think they're doing the Lord's work because it's always
good to find out you're not an athlete early. Okay,
what they're doing is telling those kids stay in school,
keep your grades up so you can be successful right.

Speaker 3 (28:31):
Outside of the game.

Speaker 7 (28:33):
Lastly, I got for you, Dominic, I'll go with the
college route. I feel like, you know, with the Colts,
like you said, the greatest upset ever if they get
me by the Titans this weekend, that'll be certainly something
that's pretty surprising. But college football, Notre Dame. Are you
all back? How do you feel?

Speaker 5 (28:52):
I'm back.

Speaker 11 (28:53):
I'm fully back, and like ten and two is now
the expectation rather than the hope in my opinion, and
we can you know, I have to tell my my
buddies we got. We got an Irish group message, okay,
and I gotta tell them you can't look ahead.

Speaker 5 (29:07):
All you can control is one.

Speaker 11 (29:08):
No, no, you can't control if there's like three ACC
teams with one loss or four SEC teams with one
loss and we're ten and two.

Speaker 5 (29:15):
Like, you can't.

Speaker 11 (29:16):
Can't worry about that, Gotta control what's what's what we
got this week? The bye week win, the bye week
one and oh yeah one weekend. It was an awesome performance.
Chris ash fully back what three or four straight weeks
now holding the team you're playing under their offensive scoring average?

Speaker 5 (29:34):
All right? In CJ.

Speaker 11 (29:35):
Carr's worst game as starting quarterbacks, still one by ten
and you can argue should have won by twenty one points.
Very impressive out of the backfield, dominated them on the ground.
Jeremiah Love Heisman campaign back on best best player in
the country. I don't want to hear an argument unbelievable
out of him. And you know this defense, I mean,
Christian Gray has played a Netflix documentary type situation season

(30:02):
in one game in both years of the USC games.
I don't know what to stay about Christian Gray, but
I'm fully back in on the Irish much needed bye
week win the rest of your games. Let the chips
fall where they may. We'll see what happens. But I'm
fully back in. I don't know about you, Kevin Bomb
back in, Man.

Speaker 2 (30:18):
They're getting an invite to that group text absolutely, let's
get you in there.

Speaker 5 (30:23):
You probably have better insight than no.

Speaker 11 (30:25):
No, no, no, no, Northern Indiana boys.

Speaker 3 (30:27):
I'll keep things on the up and up.

Speaker 2 (30:29):
Okay, boy, simply just happy to be associated Dominic Miranda WHR.
Shout out to the pioneers of Morrisville, the Spirit Award
winner here in twenty twenty five. Our conbos with Don
will continue all throughout the playoff ron tonight for the
small schools, and we'll add everybody to the mix coming
up next Friday, mister Miranda, safe travels out west tonight.

(30:49):
We'll probably see in the press box on Sunday.

Speaker 5 (30:52):
Let's do it. See you guys every weekend.

Speaker 2 (30:54):
These convos are Dominie brought to you by a FAFSA
fill in. The FAFSA helps your child access nearly four
hundred million in Indiana financial aid, including the twenty first
Century Scholarship, but also unlocks federal grants and scholarships for
college or career trainee. Visit studentaid dot gov or visit

Speaker 12 (31:13):
Don't wait.

Speaker 2 (31:13):
Secure your child's future today, as James Boyd just dunked
on everyone's future that played New Pound football this year.

Speaker 7 (31:22):
There a machine every year. Sometimes it's better to learn,
you know what. I learned this in high school. I'll
never forget. This's been More, who actually played for the Pacers.
I believe briefly way back when I've been more. Yeah,
shout out been More. I'm a wing played against him
in high school. Boldenberg High schools Or is the rival
high school and on WI the rivals. We alwas get
crushed by them, but nevertheless catches the ball in high

(31:43):
school off the pick and roll, goes to the basket,
goes up and I'm there to take the charge. And
I was thinking, oh lord, one, I never take charges.
Two the one time I do, he's gonna dunk on me.
He laid it up. I wasn't posterized. No one has
video of meet destroyed. And I thought to myself, you
know what time to hang it up.

Speaker 3 (32:03):
That's it. I'm not going today.

Speaker 7 (32:04):
I'm not going to the NBA this guy is going
to the NBA. I am not near him. Always good
to have honest in your life.

Speaker 2 (32:09):
Oh right, now the Pacers point guard situation, you might
be as close as you'll ever be to the association.

Speaker 3 (32:15):
Do you have my ali birds now, I ain't busted
me in yet.

Speaker 2 (32:17):
That's a reality from where you're at. Again, I do
think there's a lot to point to from last night
of the grit, the guttiness, just staying in the game,
on the Mather and their shot making. How about Siako
and matherin his rebounders. I mean, they were huge for
the Pacers on the glass. But to me, the dominant
storyline from last night, unfortunately, is yet another point guard injury,

(32:39):
Andrew Nemhart getting hurt left shoulder. And I didn't get
the vibe post game, James and you were in that room.
I didn't get the vibe that Rick Carlisle was overly
optimistic on the injury status for Andrew Nemhard.

Speaker 7 (32:52):
I thought he was gonna say a little bit more
at first, and then he kind of like reeled it
back in and we'll wait and see what the tests say.

Speaker 3 (32:59):
But certainly not a good situation.

Speaker 7 (33:01):
And then the way he described it afterwards, was this
is going to present some big challenges potentially, So yeah,
certainly not good vibes when it comes to just health
right now for the Pacers, and we're talking about game
one of eighty two.

Speaker 2 (33:16):
So again just to kind of go over everything point
guard wise, and boy, I know I'm going to miss
some stuff, so feel free to fill in the missing
gaps here. Obviously. Haliburton torn achilles. I think next on
the list of order of operations, if you will. TJ
McConnell hamstring injury in the preseason opener. He's out a
month and we'll see if it's more. What did Rick

(33:36):
say to us on Tuesday, don't you know, No McConnell
updates till like November ninth or tenth, So he's gonna
miss ten ish games. Quintin Jackson suffered hamstring injury during
the preseason. I think he would have been your backup
point guard last night had he been healthy, So that
covers I think everybody kind of in house. Cam Jones,
I guess could have been in the mix. And you

(33:57):
know he's got a back injury that is also on
the TJ McConnell timeline, so that again kind of covers
everybody in a PACER's UNI and then they have gone
outside of the building. It started with Monty Morris, who
I don't believe like past a physical or maybe there
was some sort of medical clearance that that one never
fully went through. Remember Delon right and that ugly stitches.

(34:20):
I don't know if it was ever deemed a concussion.
I think it was he gets hurt in the preseason.
He's gone and it is tweeting. You know, this business
is sick, I believe in a negative reaction to it.
And then Cameron Payne. Cameron Payne was a pacer for
what a week ten days, and the pacers didn't like
what they saw, so they gave him the scissors. So

(34:42):
right now you got four centers in one point guard.

Speaker 3 (34:44):
I'm not gonna lie. Giving him the scissors is quite
the term to use.

Speaker 2 (34:51):
Right there wasn't there a TV show where they did that?

Speaker 3 (34:54):
Oh gosh, I don't know what TV show this was.
I was not watching.

Speaker 2 (34:59):
I don't recall google that scissor Scared Scissors show. And
can you do the voice that's me cutting?

Speaker 8 (35:09):
I don't know if it's my best cutting sound, but no,
it sounds like you're like shearing some bushes.

Speaker 2 (35:14):
I don't think it's hindsight. Twenty twenty. I was head
scratching James when the Pacers kept four centers in one
healthy point guard, And now I watched last night and
I'm like, why do they keep four centers in one
point guard?

Speaker 3 (35:28):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (35:29):
I mean I don't care if Cameron Payne look like
like you just need Did you watch that offense when
they tried to go to whatever they were going to.

Speaker 3 (35:37):
The indictment on Cameron Payne though, Well, then find somebody
else they will.

Speaker 2 (35:43):
They can raise Jy Dennis not give you ten minutes.
I mean I felt bad for watching Ben Sheppard try
to initiate the offense, or or Jaris Walker or shock
him bringing the ball up, or Taylor Peter like. I
mean it was. That was a rough watch offensively, literally
the only reason the Pacer scored is because they won
one on one ball and Siaka and Matherin were incredible

(36:06):
again nineteen assists in regulation for those unfamiliar with that number,
that would have than the second fewest all season long.

Speaker 7 (36:12):
Yeah, I mean again, it was such a unique night
because it did feel like a playoff atmosphere so much
animosity towards that team from the fan base and you're
in it. But I was like, it's so eerily similar
to what you just felt. Not to that degree, but
four months ago. You go into the game, you got

(36:34):
a chance, you're giving all you got, you lose your
best guard, and then you try to get the other
troops to kind of step up in his absence. You
do it for a little bit, but he let the
rope go right at the end, probably because you need
a little bit more playmaking.

Speaker 3 (36:48):
And I mean you.

Speaker 7 (36:49):
Have a rick Carlisle saying, oh, we invented our offense
in the second half during a timeout, we said, you
know what, We'll just do a two man game with
bennigt Mathern in Bascal Siaka and the rest of you
get out the way and if you aren't, you know,
send a screen for those guys crash the glass. I
mean it worked to a degree, but obviously not enough,
and it's not something you can really rely on as

(37:12):
a viable offense the rest of the way. I mean,
I'll be topping again to your point, Kevin, I think
thirty nine minutes last night he was there.

Speaker 3 (37:18):
Five they're only playable. Five really get down the stretch.

Speaker 2 (37:23):
One individual, non center, not point guard division James that
I think you need more of, and I think it's
fair to ask for more out of this guy. You
gotta have more from Aaron E.

Speaker 5 (37:33):
Smith.

Speaker 3 (37:34):
Yeah, but you know what, the reason why I wasn't
too worried.

Speaker 2 (37:37):
It's game one and I don't have ever really said that,
and it dude shows up. I don't want to again,
like I feel like it's Monday after the Dolphins game,
which granted, Monday after the Dolphins game turned out to
be how the Colts have been here through the first
seven weeks of the season, but we are reacting to
one night of yeah eighty two. So but I did
feel like that. I was like, man, where was he?

Speaker 7 (37:55):
But at the same time, we were just talking before
the season started. Oh, he had one of the greatest
playoff games and PACER's history. I trust that he'll show up.

Speaker 2 (38:02):
But Moore is on everybody's plate. Moore is on the
Plateiff Bathering, Moore's on the plate of Siakam, More's on
the plate off Nemart. Like we know that everybody has
been asking now to do a little bit extra given
their state. And again, it's a one game. Matherin handled
it beautifully. Siakam handled it beautifully. Them hard of course
exited early. You just want a little bit more from Nieseman.

(38:23):
I did find it interesting that he started the game
with Nemhart on shay.

Speaker 5 (38:27):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (38:27):
I thought the interesting as well, and he got those
two quick ones he did. He did like, if Nemhart
was healthy, would he start on job Morant coming up
tomorrow night. That's a good question. I mean, it's just
a lot, I know, continue to throw it there. So
that's the state of the Pacers right now. Again, they
are off on a three game road trip here at
Memphis at Minnesota. It's back to back Saturday and Sunday,

(38:48):
at Dallas Wednesday. Miles Turner return game a week right Monday.

Speaker 7 (38:54):
By the way, one other thing that was funny after
the game from Bendig Matherin, I think midamn TONI or
Dust asked him about scoring thirty six points and calling
his number and he was like, oh, I don't think
about me, And I was thinking brother. For big portions
of that game, I was thinking the hell with that

(39:15):
Pacers basketball stuff, Go get a bucket, because that was
what was working.

Speaker 3 (39:21):
There were so many moments throughout that game where.

Speaker 2 (39:24):
When he said I don't think about me, did you
think lightning was going to strike the press room?

Speaker 7 (39:27):
Man, you gotta be thinking about you and in your
contract and your salary. And I was thinking the stock,
you know, the little stock targets going up. Sure, benig
mathering after that game, but in all seriousness, I was thinking, no,
you really can't play like you wanted to. There was
a play where I want to say it was Mathern
or Nie Smith. They were like going towards the sideline

(39:47):
and they threw it straight out of bounds. It was
like maybe the first second.

Speaker 2 (39:51):
Half of me Smith. Yes, he didn't like the spacing.
I think he was mad at Shepherd for a space.

Speaker 7 (39:56):
And I was thinking those little things like that is
what you're gonna miss with Halliburn.

Speaker 2 (40:00):
I mean when you go back and you watch the
third quarter especially, and again I'm not blaming Ben Shepperd
for this, but I want to make that abundantly clear,
but watching him try to run point and watching the
Pacers offense was just a brutal watch. I mean, there's
no way around. And again, this is the sad reality
in State with where they're at right now. Considering their
point guard position. So we'll see if any roster moves

(40:22):
come today for the Pacers, Greg Gregs are going to
join us here in ten Matt Taylor, Voice of the Colts.
At nine, we'll get set for week eight in the
NFL James Boyd Colts Titans on Sunday. More snaps for
Riley Leonard or Adie Mitchell.

Speaker 3 (40:38):
Oh that's a great question.

Speaker 7 (40:41):
I'm going to say, Ady Mitchell, not for eighty catches,
just for a few snaps out there.

Speaker 3 (40:50):
I did catch up with him, check that in the Athletic.

Speaker 2 (40:53):
Yeah. Well, maybe we'll get some audio for Adi Mitchell
a little bit later in the show here.

Speaker 7 (40:58):
But you bet we will. You've been teasing it for
two days. We got to get my man on the mic.

Speaker 2 (41:02):
I didn't know that you'd have. You know, Rounders blended
with the Mafia turned here by Chauncey Billups And that
is also fair up in yesterday's show in a fifty five.

Speaker 7 (41:10):
Point game from the defending NBA champion in double overtime
on Game one.

Speaker 3 (41:15):
So I get it. You're right.

Speaker 2 (41:16):
You're officiating gripe from last night. On a scale one
to ten, I'm probably at like six I'm not a
big bitch moan about the official game, but.

Speaker 7 (41:27):
I'm also this is why I don't hate what SGA
does because one, if he did it for the Pacers,
I'd be like, oh, well, that's great, right, But I
think it's an indictment on the way the league's officiated.
He is only exploiting the system that is being used
to his advantage.

Speaker 2 (41:44):
Letter of the law. He's taking full advantage exactly.

Speaker 7 (41:47):
So if they didn't allow you to do that stuff,
I wouldn't, you know, feel the way I do now
about it.

Speaker 13 (41:53):
Now.

Speaker 7 (41:53):
Obviously there's more like choche unquote ethical ways to play.
But hey, man, if your best player has basic game
the system or trick the system into getting fouls and
drawing fouls and whatever, then more power to him for
not legislating that out of the game, because to me,
it kind of feels like how Harden was at the
peak of his powers, where you can't touch the guy

(42:13):
getting his aerospace getting near him because he's gonna, I
don't know, hook you jump into, you stop go. It's
all the tricks of the trade.

Speaker 2 (42:21):
I thought the one gripe was the timeout they gave
the diagnault late when when they turned it over underneath
the hoop. I know Fandel, I don't know if ESPN
Dad didn't tell it. From where I was sitting, I
was shocked that gave it to him. Yeah, Fandel really
slowed it down. I mean it was bang bang. I
thought it was a little after Chet threw the ball
in there. Uh, that to me was kind of the gripe.

(42:42):
I mean, if you want to compare free throws, I
mean Matheren got to the line, I think it was
four less than SGA. If you take out the SGA
like Charity stripe, you know you're just found him at
the end to try and extend the game. So like,
it wasn't that big of a discrepancy. If you want
to look at the two stars, I think it ended
with the thundershooting ten more. Again, you take out probably
a handful of those for the end of the game there,

(43:03):
But you would safe to say Rick Carlile wasn't too
please Mark, do you have that cut a wreck on
the officiating from last night? Rick Carlile post game, I
wanted to make sure that the back pocket stayed a
little bit full.

Speaker 4 (43:18):
What were you giving an explanation for your no timeout
or the one that Winobi caught the steal both of
those players at any point in the game.

Speaker 5 (43:24):
I'm not talking about the refs.

Speaker 6 (43:25):
If I talk about the refs, I'll get fined an
exorbitant amount of money.

Speaker 3 (43:31):
I will say this, Of all the players and coaches
I've ever recovered, now that I am, I believe eight
years into my career, no one makes me look up
words more.

Speaker 2 (43:41):
Could you spell that? I don't think I could.

Speaker 3 (43:45):
No, I could not, No chance, Mark.

Speaker 2 (43:48):
Could you?

Speaker 5 (43:48):
No disrespect to rats.

Speaker 3 (43:50):
No talking rats their team in there, exorbs.

Speaker 2 (43:56):
O RB Like are you absorbing?

Speaker 6 (43:59):
Man?

Speaker 2 (43:59):
I don't even No, I don't want to be. Yeah,
I just can't spell it period. I think our next guest,
can I believe val Victorian? If I'm not mistaken down
at long.

Speaker 3 (44:10):
Probably totally spell that word.

Speaker 2 (44:13):
Have you found the scissor show?

Speaker 12 (44:14):
Mark?

Speaker 2 (44:14):
It's an easy google. Yeah, completely, Yeah, the scissors show,
I'm gonna find it during the break. Is going to
join us? Now do the scissors cut again? Make the sound?

Speaker 12 (44:25):
Rake?

Speaker 10 (44:26):
Next, I think I'm going to give the rose to
you because you.

Speaker 3 (44:32):
Are an ache. I guess you have all summer now
to let that be a lesson to you.

Speaker 2 (44:44):
That's how it is here in Hollywoird.

Speaker 12 (44:47):
You get to cut out and you're out, never to
come back.

Speaker 2 (44:53):
There you go.

Speaker 8 (44:55):
The Scissors Show aka the Andy Dick Show from the
early two thousands of MTV.

Speaker 2 (45:01):
You imagine like just joining the show right now. I'm
be like, what the hell are they doing nothing those
Friday at eight o'clock.

Speaker 8 (45:05):
More than that, well, the fact that you watched The
Andy Dick Show and that somehow resonated with you twenty
something years ago.

Speaker 3 (45:10):
It's kind of crazy.

Speaker 2 (45:12):
Who did I cut?

Speaker 14 (45:13):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (45:13):
The Pacers cut Cameron Payne. Yeah, that's why I brought it.
Andy Dick Show was very good.

Speaker 8 (45:18):
Kevin watching it and recalling it two decades later, you've
been snipped.

Speaker 2 (45:21):
I can just picture him doing it right now.

Speaker 7 (45:22):
Sometimes I'm like, how do we get It's like the
seven degrees of separations?

Speaker 3 (45:27):
Like, how do we get to that topic from?

Speaker 2 (45:29):
I literally forgot during a four minute break here, But
I mean I say it in all seriousness, James. They
have to do something at point guard today. For those
who missed the Pacer game last night, Andrew Mhart left
at halftime with a left shoulder injury. Rick Carlisle, I
would I think it's fair to say was not overly
optimistic after the game about it. So Jiji mcconald's going

(45:50):
to miss at least a couple more weeks. Quentin Jackson,
I don't know when his return is going to be.
The Pacers need to do something, I think in the
point guard department in a hurry here. So uh boy,
that was You do have to commend the effort from
last night. I mean to hang in there and hang
in there and to punch back as many times as
they did. That was damn damn impressed.

Speaker 8 (46:11):
I feel like we're gonna say that a lot this
season for the Pacers, where it's like games that they
they've just hang into every game and then you just
give a good effort where you're like they're never out
of any game. I feel like we're gonna say that
a lot this year where it's like they just kept fighting,
they gave every team their best effort and everything like that.

Speaker 7 (46:26):
No, but man, I'm and one thing I will say
in credit to them, and I think this has kind
of been part of their mo since their revival, is
like we're not going to.

Speaker 3 (46:38):
Even if we have valid excuses, we won't use them.
And I respect that Yeah, they didn't have a point
guard last night, and Rick Carlo I was like okay,
so we were like we're gonna make up an offense.
And then Siakam's like, well, I could say the officiating,
I could say we were banged up.

Speaker 2 (46:55):
But we gotta defend better. We got to Rea like, yeah,
they're not there. Yeah, they're not a one by any.

Speaker 7 (47:01):
Meaning now a backhanded thing where you're talking about both
sides your mouth, like, no, they really. I think I
think that defiance kind of defines who they are in
a way.

Speaker 2 (47:11):
And I'll be curious to see, like into games. Now,
you know Matherin Siakam, it is different, but those are
two extremely gifted one on one dudes in different ways.
And their ability to just make tough shots. I mean,
I know some of those shots that hit last night,
you probably shook your head out, but like.

Speaker 3 (47:25):
They do that dude, Matherin had me looking at him
like he was the Wade last night.

Speaker 2 (47:29):
I mean he is one of the tougher at the
rim basket makers. Yeah, I mean, there are yeah, some
poor man's dweight vibes.

Speaker 7 (47:37):
And I loved how he was talking to Ludor in
his ability. Yeah, I grew up with you take that
bucket in your face.

Speaker 2 (47:42):
Brother, certainly, zero cutting whatsoever, zero snipping from our next guest.
He is the one, the only, he is great Gray Straw.
He'll have a busy weekend, of course, as he'll get
you set from a Sunday cult postgame show host as
the Pacers are gonna ask in the question up in Minnesota,
can you spell exorbitant.

Speaker 12 (48:03):
Exorbitant?

Speaker 3 (48:05):
Yes?

Speaker 12 (48:05):
Is that what you're asking?

Speaker 13 (48:06):
Yes?

Speaker 3 (48:06):
I said it wrong. I'm sorry.

Speaker 15 (48:08):
Yeah, H E X.

Speaker 12 (48:13):
O, R B, I T A N C exorbitant Is
that right?

Speaker 11 (48:22):
Yes?

Speaker 2 (48:22):
Oh my gosh, Rake, were you valedictorian at Lanesville?

Speaker 12 (48:26):
I was?

Speaker 2 (48:27):
Yes, Gosh, that's awesome.

Speaker 7 (48:29):
If I ever read a lifeline, what's that show? Do
you get anything a millionaire?

Speaker 3 (48:34):
I'm calling?

Speaker 2 (48:34):
Do you get anything for that?

Speaker 5 (48:35):
Rake?

Speaker 12 (48:38):
I think that in fifty cents gets you on the bus.
I believe like you.

Speaker 2 (48:41):
Yeah, I don't know. Is there a special tassel something
that has hung up in your household for that?

Speaker 12 (48:46):
There is not I got. I think I made three
appearances on stage at my high school graduation that lasted
forty minutes because there was twenty nine of us that graduated,
So as the class president, I welcome everybody of the graduation.
I then got up and gave like a six or
seven minute speech and then actually then got my diploma,

(49:07):
so I got my steps in that day.

Speaker 2 (49:10):
He is Greg Ragshaw. I was with to see on
the Payloss Slickers hotline it tonight for the smaller schools.
That is how the playoff format works when it comes
to football. And Greg Rakestraw, you don't actually do you
have a far drive tonight? I know you're playing a
school that's very close to your home, but I don't
know if the game's at Shatard or Moresville.

Speaker 12 (49:26):
They are the road teams. So I'm off to Morrisville,
which isn't exactly a far drive either. So shatarda Morrisville
is our game of the week. And as I talked
about yesterday on which TV, you know, we are so
six A centric in terms of the teams we cover
in football and basketball. We can space it out, you
know a little bit more with having more dates to
work with. So this is kind of the one week

(49:46):
of the year that I get to see teams that
are four A, three A, et cetera. So we last
had Mooresville on TV. There was kind of a quirky
Week two where like all the Mick and Carmel was
on the road, So we did more Ville and Danville
one times. First time in three years I've been to Moorsville.
I live a mile from Chatard High School, as do

(50:07):
you and we In the seven years we have been
doing television on my NDTV, this is the first time
we've got the Shatar Trojans on.

Speaker 5 (50:14):
In football.

Speaker 2 (50:15):
You might be hearing from some people there. I won't
drop any names on that because say I can get
in trouble for that. But Chatard faithful might be reaching
out to you Rake for that. Do we have a
mister football favorite? No, boy, maybe the Statard people got
to me.

Speaker 12 (50:33):
He got to me immediately. There was like a three
second pause as the entire North Side Catholic community. Pat
Sullivan just snipped the ball line. He heard you say
cut and then know Chatard and memo the knocked.

Speaker 2 (50:46):
On your door after that comment right there.

Speaker 12 (50:48):
If you missed all the Dry family, if.

Speaker 2 (50:50):
You misheard Rake, do we have a mister football favorite?

Speaker 3 (50:53):
I got mine.

Speaker 12 (50:54):
Mister has to be Miles McLaughlin has to be you know,
he is not going to be the high level recruit
of this senior class. But again, given the the stratospheric
numbers he has put up, and given the fact that
likely he is going to pass what was thought to
be an unbreakable record from Charlie Spiegel, pretty sure his

(51:15):
name is already on the trophy.

Speaker 7 (51:18):
That dude runs so much. I would honestly like to
know what his recovery is like as a high school athlete, Like,
is he getting the abstin salt, is he getting the ice,
you know, buckets around the ankles or something like that,
or is he just that tough?

Speaker 12 (51:33):
Well, he runs a lot, I'm not sure why people
hit him, so it's just kind of doing like distance work, seemingly.

Speaker 2 (51:41):
And they've played tonight, right Rake.

Speaker 12 (51:44):
Correct, So as a three to a team they play tonight,
And again, given the way the draw worked out, you
know they have made at least the reason around each
of the last two years, and so I think he
is now in the vicinity of seven hundred yards away
from breaking that record. So in theory, he could break
it next week given the clip he has been on.

(52:04):
But you would assume that that if it doesn't happen
next week, likely of being Sexual Championship Week on November
the seventh.

Speaker 2 (52:11):
He's on the call tonight Shatarda Moorsville. Again. For the
most part, it's just one A, two A, three A
and four A here as we get the sectional slate started.
He is the one, the only great rag star with
us here on the Payless Lickers hotline. Rake, when I
say to you, in a five months stretch, Lucas Oil
Stadium will play host to the Indiana Hoosiers in the

(52:32):
Big Ten Championship, the Indianapolis Colts and the AFC Championship,
and the Purdue boiler Makers in the National Championship for basketball.

Speaker 12 (52:40):
You say what I say, it's possible. I say it's
absolutely possible. And amazingly, the thing that appears to be
the biggest lock of those three would be the Indiana
Hoosiers being in the Big Ten Championship game, which is
just stupefying. So I hope you guys. And when one

(53:02):
word gets used in a press conference, it tends to
be repeated like two or three times. So and Kevin,
you may have been the person that introduced cheater to
Shane Stiken's press conference on Wednesday, because that's what Indiana
Sports are on right now. That may not feel that
way after last night and basically James was the backup

(53:23):
point guard, uh you know, for for overtime number three
for the Pacers last night. But the fact that they
made to the final game of the NBA Finals Game seven.
Indiana is number two in the country, the Indianapolis Colts
have the best record in the National Football League, and
Ford is the consensus number one team in the country
for college hoops. That that that's insane to be on

(53:46):
that level of a role, and that's where we're at
right now.

Speaker 2 (53:49):
Like Chauncey Billups in the Hampton, Indiana Sports right.

Speaker 13 (53:53):
Oh.

Speaker 12 (53:57):
That too soon, a little too soon.

Speaker 2 (53:59):
Yeah, yeah, you guys haven't liked any of my Phillips
jokes in the last twenty four hours.

Speaker 3 (54:04):
I mean that is that's the scariest WUSS to be in.

Speaker 12 (54:06):
Go ahead, go ahead and make the cuts, downd Kevin,
go ahead and cut that out here by the way
to go rake.

Speaker 7 (54:13):
When you look at I'll pivot a little bit to
the Colts here. When you look at what the Colts
have been doing from a point differential standpoint, and then
you look at the Titans, who are on the opposite
end of the spectrum, What are you expecting Sundays. Is
this going to be another Colts dominant game or will
we see something weird because the NFL is weird.

Speaker 12 (54:36):
That's what's been crazy about this cult schedule is that
you know they've been you don't even blow out the
teams that are the bad teams, and the Colts have
been so consistent. The Dolphins are garbage, Colts thwaddle them,
The Titans are garbage, The Colts spank them. The Raiders stink,
the Colts embarrass them. And so the fact that we

(54:59):
have now seen this three times tells you that it's
not an anomaly that the Colts are going to be
ready to play. I think part of it, too, is
the Colts style translates so well. You know, Daniel Jones
is not doing the flashy he's just doing everything so efficiently.
Jonathan Taylor just grinds out yards. That offensive line wears

(55:21):
you down. That skill set translates, and if you've also
got a pass rush that's been getting close to getting
home but not getting home, what normally helps that Playing
a rookie quarterback and playing a Tennessee team that is
not good in the first place, but now is a
beaten up football team. I think all those elements combined

(55:43):
for this to be I hope a bit of a
snoozer on Sunday afternoon.

Speaker 2 (55:47):
Raak anything else on the slate besides tar Mooresville tonight
and of course Colts postgame show duties on Sunday.

Speaker 12 (55:53):
A couple of college soccers tomorrow. But frankly, as I've
told people a lot this week, this is kind of
the last slow week for me because it gets crazy
next week and then once I get to November, you know,
I'll see my kids in December. I think at some
point in time, November and may have turned into my
two busiest months of the year. And my Google calendar

(56:15):
reflects that as of next weekend.

Speaker 2 (56:18):
What is it just college vassall picking up in November
for you.

Speaker 12 (56:21):
So it's a mixture of college basketball high school basketball,
and then I slash we as an is produce a
lot of conference championship stuff for Marion, we produce a
lot of conference championship stuff for Horizon League. I tend
to be on the call of those things. And so
there's that Monon Bell game that pops up on November
the fifteenth, there's a couple of high school state championships.

(56:43):
Can I break some news on the show this morning?

Speaker 5 (56:47):
Sure?

Speaker 12 (56:47):
Do we have a breaking news sounders to Kevin, want
to make the cut sound again.

Speaker 9 (56:51):
Breaking news from ninety three to five and one oh
seven to five the fan.

Speaker 12 (56:57):
So I actually get to be on the television now
it's streaming, but I will be on the television call
of the Butler Wright State game on Friday afternoon, November
the twenty eighth for ESBN plush.

Speaker 3 (57:07):
Hey, congrats, brother some come Friday.

Speaker 2 (57:10):
I call that a sunny announcement.

Speaker 5 (57:12):
Let's go.

Speaker 12 (57:14):
So so to give you an idea of what my
month is going to be like. On both the twenty
eighth and twenty ninth, I will call a college basketball
game at two o'clock and I'll go to a state
championship football game at seven o'clock. That's what my November
is like, and I absolutely love it.

Speaker 2 (57:27):
Let's go. Nothing defines Greg Gregshaw more than that I'm
seeing here. One loss for De Paul, one loss for
Wabash per usual should be a great one here coming up,
and the one hundred and thirty first monon Bell. He
is great. Gray Shaw he was the valedictorian at Lanesville
and he joins us pretty much every Friday at eight o'clock. Rake,
I will see you up in the press box Bofellas

(57:48):
the one, the only Greg rag starw Right there Payless
Liquors hot Line. If I told you guys that five
month span, I you Big Ten Football Championship game at
Lucas Oil, Colt's AFC Time game at Lucas Oil, Purdue
National Championship Game at Lucas Oil. What do you say?

(58:08):
I say, signed me up?

Speaker 3 (58:09):
Yeah, that would sound Is it all happening? I mean,
at this point, I'll believe anything. If you tell me
this year that we've had brother.

Speaker 2 (58:19):
Yeah, I was.

Speaker 8 (58:20):
I would say I would believe anything at this point,
considering how just the vibe for heading into the cold
season was and how they've played to this point.

Speaker 2 (58:28):
Nothing would surprise me. Your most skeptical of which of
the three? Boy, I don't know.

Speaker 8 (58:39):
I feel like I keep thinking that like at some
point in question, the Colts good stretch is good, like
they're they're going to hit a rough patch at some point.

Speaker 2 (58:50):
But I don't know.

Speaker 8 (58:51):
I mean, they are padding that schedule right now with
winds and on top of winds. So I don't know.

Speaker 2 (58:59):
As wild is this would have sounded a few months ago,
and maybe it wouldn't have. I used like the slam dunk,
like they have to fall in their face not to
make the Big ten championship game.

Speaker 3 (59:09):
Which is in insane time. But it's true, it's not
even insane anymore. They're just they're just their machine.

Speaker 2 (59:15):
I guess. But I would go Purdue, I guess, yeah,
just because you guys to get the injuries possibly and
it's and it's hard, it's one and you know obviously
one and done, and you know things like that. I
think the Patriots might have the easiest strength to schedule
the rest of the way. If you want to look
at an AFC standpoint, I mean, can you imagine I
mean the AFC title going through Foxboro too? I mean

(59:37):
that would have been whild to imagine that. I did
think watching last night's game. I was slipping back and
forth a little bit during during the commercial. I think
I can figure out the AFC playoff teams right now.
AFC West is gonna send three, an AFC East will
send two. You guys agree with that? Why not I
be one more time? AFC West will send three AFC

(59:59):
East will I'll send two New England Buffalo, and then
the West will send US Chargers, Broncos, and Chiefs. And
that those are a playoffs. I can probably see that. Yeah,
I don't see a second team out of the South,
and I don't see a second team out of the
AFC North.

Speaker 7 (01:00:11):
No, And I don't really trust the Jaguars as much
as I trust the Colts.

Speaker 3 (01:00:15):
And that's not like a Homer take or anything. I
just think that what the Colts have done has been
more sustainable. You know, the Chargers were having those the charge.
I'm sorry.

Speaker 7 (01:00:23):
The Jaguars had a bunch of games with turnovers, and
I feel like turnovers are harder to predict or replicate.

Speaker 3 (01:00:30):
Than the number one offense in the NFL.

Speaker 8 (01:00:32):
I also don't think the Texans are turning it on
at any point, Like I keep waiting for them to
kind of, well, they can't be this bad, But I
don't know. I don't think the Colts are kind of
you know.

Speaker 7 (01:00:42):
Yeah, to Mark's point, each week you're gaining it seems
like a half game or a game on them.

Speaker 3 (01:00:47):
You're not losing.

Speaker 7 (01:00:48):
I mean this one, as they always say, counsels too,
because it's a division game.

Speaker 3 (01:00:51):
But you know, you go out.

Speaker 7 (01:00:53):
There and smack the Titans, you're in again. You're already
the driver's sipt and I can step them the gas.

Speaker 2 (01:00:58):
We'll talk much more about col and Titans and a
busy weekend here, and we'll get you set a little
bit for that right now as we check it.

Speaker 9 (01:01:05):
Out the morning checkdown on ninety sweet five and one
oh seven five, the.

Speaker 2 (01:01:11):
Fan well, hell of the night inside a gamebridge Field,
allus entertaining as usual for the Indiana Pacers New Year,
same grit and guttiness. Unfortunately did not end in a win,
though double overtime thunder one forty one Pacers won thirty five.
Shay Gildocks Alexander James. You said that was a career
high fifty five for.

Speaker 7 (01:01:30):
Him, yes, three, shy of the OKC single game record
held by Russell West fifty eight.

Speaker 2 (01:01:37):
Matherin had thirty six. That's the second most for a
pacer on opening night in franchise history. Pascal Siakam thirty two,
uh Obi twenty off the bench, Ben Sheppard fifteen, Jeris
Walker thirteen. Any of the bench guys stand at Walker
had a couple of very important and difficult baskets late.

Speaker 7 (01:01:53):
Yeah, I liked what Jeris Walker did last night. A
couple of moments I was like, ah, a little too
much Jarris offensively, but I thought he gave you some
variety and shot making, variety and defensive play making, and
also distributed to a few of his teammates.

Speaker 2 (01:02:07):
The biggest storyline of the night, sadly is once again
another point guard injury. Andrew Nemhar leaves with a left
shoulder injury. Rick Carlisle did not sound overly optimistic about
it after the game, and the Pacers about ready to
head out on a three game road trip, so that
will be the news item to keep an eye on.
And the center rotation was.

Speaker 7 (01:02:26):
Awful, that's one way to put it. They had more again,
more fouls than points or rebounds.

Speaker 2 (01:02:35):
Eight minutes for Isaiah Jackson, four fouls. Like, if you
made me pick one, I'd like to see a little
more of. I guess it would be Jay Huff right now.
But you know, I did find it odd there and
overtime at one point the Pacers pretty much rolled with
Obi topping for the final twenty five minutes, though, did
you see the thunder. Actually they transition down to the pacers. Yeah,

(01:03:01):
they took chet off the floor at one point there,
which I found interesting. There, So again, questions certainly about that.
Shout out to Jason Hammer. He hit us with the
Benedict matherin first three pointer bet No. Plus two ninety
five and that definitely has last night all right, col
Tendre report on this Friday, James, I'm not overly intrigued

(01:03:21):
by really anything. Josh Dowens seems to be good to go,
Ashton Doolan seems to be good to go. Kenny Moore
was a full participant yesterday at practice. The defensive ends
look like they're gonna be iffy and very if I
should say Sampson Evicon and Taekwon Lewis, as they haven't
practiced yet this week. Maybe Taekwon gives it a go today.
And I still think we're probably one more week from
Jalen Jones. He was limited again yesterday.

Speaker 3 (01:03:44):
Yeah, and I think that's the wise decision.

Speaker 7 (01:03:46):
Don't rush him back, especially when you know, I don't
want to say he rushed back the first time, but
he was itching to get back reins a hamstring, So
take your time. The Titans, like I said, are not
very good, so you should would have handle business without him,
and I think you want to try to get him
back on the field against Pittsburgh.

Speaker 2 (01:04:04):
Last sight Thursday night football is the Chargers all over
the Vikings. Carson Wentz looked hurt and looked bad as
the Chargers whooked up on Minnesota. We've got Game one
of the World Series tonight. Blake Snell on the mound
for the Dodgers and really a hell of a story
for the Blue Jays. Trey Y Savage. He has worked
his way all the way up from Single A to

(01:04:25):
the majors in one season he was pitching for East Carolina.
I always loved the East Carolina's football uniforms. Shout out
to Sam's story. Diehard East Carolina fan. I believe it's
his birthday today. The Pirates correct.

Speaker 7 (01:04:38):
Yes, sure, I'm actually sure of that. I don't think
Mark just said sure, just so you can be quiet.

Speaker 8 (01:04:45):
I recalling the East Carolina was the football coacher we
need a bunch of dogs.

Speaker 2 (01:04:48):
Oh no, that was.

Speaker 3 (01:04:49):
A coastal Carolina. Yeah it's a funny reference, but.

Speaker 2 (01:04:52):
Yeah, cats and dogs. It was raining in that press conference.
That was a great one. Oh man, cats need more dogs.

Speaker 7 (01:05:00):
Reminds of a rant my uncle dud This man, uh
diehard Bears fan, got so mad at them one time.
He like he said, you know, we got a bunch
of cats lining up at the line of scrimmage.

Speaker 3 (01:05:09):
They just going they going there like meow, meow. They
gotta get up there and stand it fight. Be a dog,
be a dog.

Speaker 2 (01:05:15):
And so I think the Coastal Carolina guy, I must
have got it from your uncle.

Speaker 3 (01:05:18):
I don't know.

Speaker 7 (01:05:19):
I honestly wish you all could see the theatrics that
happened when a Bears game is on. That's how I
know true fantoms will exists. Can you live stream him?
Can we get fam and Mark dyked in together? Maybe
watching It's like him and Mark would just like be
kindred spirit right in the way of the emotions.

Speaker 2 (01:05:36):
Week one of sectionals upon us Whitelands Seymour five A.
But it's a night for the smaller games, uh, smaller schools.
Monrovius is sena heritage ridder. We mentioned Ron Collie at
Northview earlier attics bbuff Again, we don't have a ton
of local local action. Shtar Mooresville. That's where great, Greg
Straw will be we'll get full five A and then six.
They started next week college football Tomorrow, it's noon for

(01:05:59):
both Purdue and Bloomington, a big old favorite twenty four
twenty five for the Hoosiers as it big Neon kickoff
is there, We'll see about the availability of UCLA quarterback
Nico and good luck spelling that last name as well,
and Perdue tries to get their first Big Ten win.
We'll see about the starting quarterback for Perdue, as Ryan
Brown got hurt in that loss to Northwestern, shutout loss.

(01:06:21):
Something's got to give Rutgers in Purdue both winless in
the Big Ten again. The Boilers down in rupp Arena
tonight against Kentucky. Matt Painter, it makes a whole lot
of sense to me, he says, when you play a
Marquee road game early in the season, you might as
well throw a little road game action on the exhibition slate.
So they've done it now three straight years, Creating in Arkansas.
They actually lost to Creating in Arkansas, but I think

(01:06:44):
it does prepare you pretty well. Indiana. Darren Devreizing Company
will be inside a Gambridge Fieldhouse Sunday afternoon that's one
o'clock taking on Baylor. One takeaway from each of you
on yesterday's Gambling News. It can be rogier, it can
be aunty, Billups what stood out to you the most?

Speaker 8 (01:07:04):
But I can't tell what's real and what's the onion
anymore in these things?

Speaker 5 (01:07:09):
Now?

Speaker 2 (01:07:09):
Is Billups involved in both?

Speaker 3 (01:07:12):
That's what I I to be fair. I haven't had
a chance to read like a full I was kind
of ridding bits and pieces yesterdays as I was working.
But from what I understand, it's all sort of interconnected
in a way.

Speaker 2 (01:07:26):
Especially Billups.

Speaker 7 (01:07:27):
It sounds like right, it sounds like he might be
actually in more trouble than Roseer.

Speaker 2 (01:07:32):
And I guess to clarify a little bit, it sounded
like potentially he was providing some intel to others on
when his team specifically would be tanking, would be sitting guys,
et cetera, et cetera, to go along with the underground
poker game that had special glasses he was wearing, and
now I feel like James and Mark are both wearing
them on this Friday morning. And I only meant for

(01:07:53):
X ray vision doctor Carr cameras underneath the table. Yes,
the video like this.

Speaker 8 (01:07:59):
I saw a video where it was like these are
the glasses they were wearing, And I'm like, is that real?

Speaker 2 (01:08:04):
Like what I was watching? Because that that's crazy.

Speaker 8 (01:08:06):
There's like Mark cards with secret messages on them and
all that stuff like, yeah, this is insane.

Speaker 7 (01:08:12):
And all that to basically get you to play lose
and then have to pay a crazy amount of money
so that I can agree with Mark. For me, it's
Terry rose Year and again it's all allegedly, but like
telling a bunch of his friends and family I guess
to bet the under one of his performances, and.

Speaker 3 (01:08:30):
Then them bringing the money to his house.

Speaker 7 (01:08:34):
They said they brought like two hundred thousand dollars to
his house the day or the night of that that
tank game that he had. And I'm thinking to myself,
what the heck are you guys thinking I'm going to cheat?
And all the evidence back to you.

Speaker 2 (01:08:48):
That's like Marrion Webster definition of stupidity.

Speaker 8 (01:08:51):
Also, the montage of terryo Year, just like you can't
even just chuck throwing it to the other team like
on purpose.

Speaker 3 (01:09:00):
Yeah, So it's it's fascinating.

Speaker 7 (01:09:03):
I mean, I had my dad calling me about this
and usually we're talking about, Hey, you got Thursday night football,
and he's like, you.

Speaker 3 (01:09:08):
See what Johnsy Billup did? Oh my goodness, blah blah,
these these these fuckers is stupid.

Speaker 2 (01:09:13):
Can you like, can you give me your dad's number?
He might like my the culture on a heater like
Chauncey Billups and the Hamptons.

Speaker 7 (01:09:18):
You know what, my dad is a harsh grader, so
he has no sympathy when it comes to rich people
doing dumb things.

Speaker 2 (01:09:24):
I love how four cities mentioned were the four places
where the Hampton's, Miami, Vegas, and Manhattan. I was really
hoping you get, like you know, Leesburg, Leesburg, Indiana, like
rowing out Virginia, Indiana. Just some underground barn somewhere Indiana.

Speaker 8 (01:09:40):
These games all right, we'll get set for week ads
gambling with Santa favorite.

Speaker 2 (01:09:44):
Games we're keeping an eye off. Will give some Colts
Titans picks as well. It is a fan morning show
on a Friday, extra spending night with us.

Speaker 13 (01:09:51):
Any bit more like a dog. We don't need a
bunch of cats in here looking in the mirror. I
look good, I got my extra bands on, I got
my other s. Choose be a doll. We don't need
no meals. We don't need no cats, we need more dolls.

Speaker 2 (01:10:08):
Guys, ever, do big noon kickoff over college game day
like on a Saturday morning? Are you pretty religious to the.

Speaker 3 (01:10:16):
ESP I'm not gonna lie.

Speaker 7 (01:10:17):
I think Pat McAfee's kind of given me like a
new life with that.

Speaker 3 (01:10:21):
Honestly, he's fine. I think that's the best thing that
he does to you. I need to stick with the game. Yeah,
I have not been.

Speaker 2 (01:10:27):
I think last year maybe Indiana was the Big Nuon
kickoff once, and I think I flipped over to it
like at some point in the eleven o'clock hour, but
I've never really gone over there.

Speaker 8 (01:10:39):
Giving the way the emails went unanswered this week, I'm
more of a college game.

Speaker 2 (01:10:43):
Day maybe a middle finger to Fox a little bit. No,
I'm but for real numb.

Speaker 8 (01:10:48):
College game day is always I mean, I've been watching
it for so long it's kind of old hat at
this point.

Speaker 2 (01:10:52):
I get Big Nuon kickoff down there in Bloomington coming
up tomorrow. I you will get UCLA That is noon here.
It's nine am for the Bruins out there. I know
they've been better since they've fired Sean Foster, but certainly
Vegas doesn't really think that way is it is a
big old spread here in in memorial stadum. I should

(01:11:13):
say twenty four to twenty five points for that one. Mark,
Let's go ahead do Fast Fingers, Will Friday giveaway here
four pack of tickets to Butler, Indiana State that is
next Wednesday inside of hinkle Field House, their final exhibition games,
the Dogs and the Sycamores playing there. Four pack of tickets.
Will give that away, Fast Fingers three one call, non
text call yes, three, one, seven, two, three, nine, ten seventies.

(01:11:34):
We give us a call. We'll give away a four
pack of tickets to that. James, I know you had
a conversation with Adie Mitchell earlier this week and you
found that to be pretty enlightening.

Speaker 7 (01:11:45):
Absolutely, he is a fascinating person. And I don't mean
that as a joke. I know people have been hard
on him. We have been critical of him. I mean
I've even theorized do you trade the guy? But talking
to him, man, I'm just like, oh, I can.

Speaker 3 (01:12:00):
See why.

Speaker 7 (01:12:03):
People still love you because he owned everything we're talking
to him about, you know, the benching, the gaff in
la not being focused enough. Will you play again, like
he was vulnerable, candid, funny about all of it, and
so yeah, that was one of the better interviews I've

(01:12:24):
had all year, regardless if it's a positive topic negative topic.

Speaker 3 (01:12:28):
I mean, the dude just stood there for ten minutes.

Speaker 7 (01:12:30):
In the locker room the other day and basically spilled
his guts about the lowest point of his career.

Speaker 2 (01:12:37):
Now we're back to what looks to be a healthy
whiteout group. Josh Downs, I know, was a full participant yesterday.
It looks like he is making it through concussion protocol
as long as today goes well. Ashton Doolan should also
be back after missing last week with a chest injury.
So I don't know what that means. Raady Mitchell. On paper,
it doesn't mean anything good for him, So I'll be interested. Said,

(01:13:00):
you know, that's a little bit of a storyline. Like
I was serious earlier when I said to you who
gets more snaps on Sunday, Riley Leonard or Adie Mitchell.
Now part of me thinks of Riley Leonard's in the game,
that means it's a blowout, and that means Adie Mitchell
also gets in. But I asked that question because is
Adi Mitchell definitely gonna be active. Yeah, Aileen towards Riley
Leonard in that regard, because Adie Mitchell ain't active, then

(01:13:20):
any snap for Riley wind will be more than Adie
Mitchell there. But I expect it to be a route,
So I expect Riley Leonard to get in the game.

Speaker 7 (01:13:28):
And honesty talking to him, that was one of the
things that he opened up about. He was like, it
is kind of scary because you don't know if you're
gonna get that opportunity to get it.

Speaker 2 (01:13:37):
Didn't say that very quote to you, like I don't
know what I'm gonna play my next snap.

Speaker 7 (01:13:40):
Yeah, he literally said that. So yeah, let's let's go
to the audio line here from ad Mitchell and here
is his reaction or really just him sort of detailing
what it's like to go through what he's going through
and not know when that next chance might come.

Speaker 16 (01:14:00):
It definitely felt good to, you know, do something I've
been doing, you know, my whole life again, get kind
of lost when you when you don't really get that opportunity.
So just trying to cherish here moment, trying to make
the most of every moment that I get.

Speaker 12 (01:14:17):
You know, I don't know what I'm gonna get that.

Speaker 7 (01:14:20):
That's as fund as he can put it. And he
said that multiple times, multiple different ways.

Speaker 2 (01:14:25):
And the belief was I don't know when I'm gonna
get that bred again.

Speaker 3 (01:14:27):
Right, Yeah, yeah, pretty much.

Speaker 7 (01:14:29):
And on top of that, KB talking to him, it
wasn't a woe is me, Let's make that very clear.
It was no, this is me because at one point,
and this is why I know Had he's a pretty
real dude. It's just, you know, can you get a
little more focused, because I feel like most athletes are

(01:14:50):
even people in your lives, ourselves, we wouldn't probably answer
this question. But he said, hey, this is the most
diversity I've been through my career or life rather and
I said, okay, hey, well does it affect you differently
when you know the adversity is self inflicted? And this
is what he told me, and I'll read it to
you because I put it in one of my stories.

(01:15:12):
And he said, I know people want to ask me like,
do I still look back at that? Do I still
think it's my fault? Hell yeah I do. There ain't
a moment when I don't think about it, and so
it kind of lets you know, now he did say, hey,
I'm back as far as like the confidence, energy and

(01:15:33):
not really having like that cloud over his head, But
he said, yeah, no, I think about it all the time.

Speaker 2 (01:15:39):
You know, Matt reaches out here, he goes, I think
the eighty punishment's gone too far and made a mistake.
He gets it. Blah blah blah. I would agree with that, Like,
I don't think the need is to punish him now
for a full on month. The question has become did
you realize as a coaching staff, you'd rather have asked
and Doolittle, Rady Mitchell, Like you could be done punishing him.
But then when you sit there in a coaches meeting

(01:16:01):
room and you say offensively, hey, guys, who would you
rather have out there? Doolan or Mitchell? Dude eighty, they
just come to the conclusion that they'd rather have Dulan,
which is a real possibility, right, And I think we'll
find out again. I think Sunday will be now that
everyone's back healthy. It's been a month, yep, et cetera,
et cetera. He did play one gunner rep on special
teams last week. I don't expect that to be a
full time role. Yeah, I think too. Actually did he

(01:16:22):
have too? YEAHO. I don't expect that to be a
full time role for him, but just something to keep
an eye on, all right. Coming up on the other side,
we'll continue to recap last night inside a game bridge
Field House gets you set for Week eight in the NFL,
Kevin Bowen, James boy to Mark Dyton on Friday and
get you set here for our easiest, hardest, most entertaining

(01:16:45):
games of week eight. James. Most encouraging sign last night
from what you saw out of the Pacers.

Speaker 5 (01:16:52):
Was what.

Speaker 7 (01:16:57):
Man probably just what I saw from JAREDS Walker and
Benedict Mathern. Those are two guys you're looking at to
take the next leap or step in a year where
they're gonna get more opportunities with Al Halliburton in the lineup,
and I liked what I saw from both of them.

Speaker 2 (01:17:09):
Honestly, Yeah, they both shot making wise, both were huge lates.
I know the stats won't indicate it, but I would
like to see more tailor Peter. I have a little
intrigue that.

Speaker 7 (01:17:23):
I think he's gotta be more decisive, which I say
that about severalal Kis, but I thought early on he
was a little hesitant, a little timid, and I thought
as the game went on, in credit to him, because
first game, bright lights whatever, it seemed like he got
more comfortable as the minutes went by, because I thought

(01:17:43):
one of the best sequels to the game, besides when
we got to the overtimes, of course, was.

Speaker 3 (01:17:48):
That Steely got he pokes the ball away. Third quarter,
I believe pokes the ball away.

Speaker 7 (01:17:53):
Obie Topping runs it down, Taylor Peter relocates to the corner,
catch and shoot three ball.

Speaker 3 (01:17:58):
Crowd goes crazy.

Speaker 7 (01:18:00):
That to me felt like a Pacers play by a
guy who was, you know, trying to get to a
level where he can play their brand of basketball.

Speaker 2 (01:18:08):
And that man started two games last year at Liberty,
like he was a bench player for Liberty, I know,
And now you're asking him to play an opening night
of an NBA game against the defending champs, like I I, yes,
you know, more decisive. Certainly, I understand a little bit
of the hesitancy that he had, but he's much more
than just some standstill three point shooter, which I kind

(01:18:28):
of pegged him. You know, it was crazy.

Speaker 7 (01:18:30):
I thought he was a little indecisive, aout shooting the
ball right which again, and I'm like, yeah, I get it,
but I'm I would imagine and I get yeah, it's tough,
but I would imagine Rick Carlile and Jenny Bootsak And
you know, Lloyd Pierce was like, hey, brother, we get
all the other stuff you can do.

Speaker 3 (01:18:45):
Shoot that dying.

Speaker 2 (01:18:46):
Sure easier said than done, I think when yeah, I
don't think he's got the reputation of not necessarily a
Ben Mathering type through somebody along those lines. All right,
let's get you set here for Week eight in the
NF Mark Dakin wish weave again.

Speaker 8 (01:19:01):
It's the most exciting wherever we want to start their
most exciting of the eight.

Speaker 2 (01:19:06):
Week eight slate not a very good slate, by the way,
I don't think it's a good slate at all. Mark.
I'll show some favoritism towards you. If Lamar Jackson's playing,
I'll go to your game. I'll call Ravens Bears. Are
the Bears somewhat interesting? With four in a row? Are
the Ravens dead? Officially? Is Lamar Jackson going to play?

(01:19:31):
I'm struggling for entertainment value in the Week eight. I'm
not gonna lie, but I'll go.

Speaker 8 (01:19:33):
Here Lamar Jackson's been limited all week. In practice. The
Bears have are the only team in the NFL they've
scored at least twenty one points in every game this season,
and the Ravens are one in five with their backs
against the wall.

Speaker 2 (01:19:45):
So if Lamar doesn't play, oh boy, oh boy, would
it be snow Putley over Cooper Rush. I believe.

Speaker 7 (01:19:52):
So I'm gonna go Giants Eagles because I believe in
the Giants beat Eagles hell this year.

Speaker 2 (01:20:01):
They're already playing again.

Speaker 7 (01:20:03):
Yes, so I need that Cam Skataboo, Jackson, Dart. They're
both ridiculous individuals, but they're playing pretty good football. And
they spoiled the party last time against Cychwon, so they
do it again.

Speaker 8 (01:20:17):
Not only are they playing again, they're playing for the
second time in three weeks.

Speaker 3 (01:20:22):
That is kind of crazy.

Speaker 2 (01:20:23):
Yeah, that was one of our Thursday night upsets, Chargers
all over the Vikings if you missed it last night.

Speaker 8 (01:20:28):
The most exciting. Again, only two games this Sunday featured
both teams with winning records, so it is a rough slate,
but looking forward to the most is Cowboys Broncos. You
want to talk about two teams that swing wildly in
different directions, game to games, sometimes quarter to quarter.

Speaker 2 (01:20:43):
It's these two teams.

Speaker 8 (01:20:44):
Bo Nicks and the Broncos looked dead last week against
the Giants until that insane fourth quarter, and the Cowboys
are doing Cowboys things where they're just inconsistent. But I'm
intrigued by Cowboys Broncos in Denver.

Speaker 2 (01:20:55):
And that's one of the other four o'clock games, uh,
outside of Colts and Titans. Okay, hardest game to pick,
I'm gonna go with Houston hosting San Francisco, the Texans
on a short week, traveling back from Seattle. They are
a two and a half point favorite. At some point,

(01:21:16):
all these forty nine er injuries have to catch up
to them, you would think. But then again, I'm like,
do I trust the Texans on a short week getting
points or having to cover two and a half. I
could go back and forth on that all day long.
So that for me is one of the harder games
to pick. Forty nine Ers at five and two, Texans
two and four, Houston favored by two and a half.

Speaker 7 (01:21:41):
I think Packers, Steelers. I'm surprised we didn't choose one
of these as far as our most intriguing game. I
think that one is a hard one. Two and a
half point favorites for the Packers. Anytime the lines that close,
I'm just like, uh, I don't know. They're on the
road as well, so as something to consider. So I
think that's the one that gives me the most.

Speaker 2 (01:22:02):
Like markin jis, what's a meteor to hit the stadium?
To my heart, it's the hardest game for me because
I have to root for it.

Speaker 8 (01:22:08):
I think Aaron Rodgers to beat the Packers, which is
gross to think about.

Speaker 2 (01:22:12):
That's why it's hard for me.

Speaker 8 (01:22:14):
My hardest actually though, is Bears Ravens because the Bears
are six and a half point underdogs on the road
to the one in five Ravens Baltimore seasons on its
last legs. Lamar has been limited all week, like we
just said, so that spread is kind of insane when
you're looking at it.

Speaker 3 (01:22:29):
That line has to be with Lamar in the line.

Speaker 8 (01:22:31):
Yes, So that's why, honestly, if you are thinking Lamar Jackson,
who's been limited all week, is not going to play,
I would jump all over that six and a half
because if they get word that he's not playing, that
line is going to shrink drastically, So if you can
hop on Bears six and a half, I would take that.

Speaker 2 (01:22:44):
But if he does play, I just don't know what
we're gonna.

Speaker 8 (01:22:46):
Get because lamar is still is the one hundred percent
probably not, and the Ravens need to get a win
because otherwise they fall the one in six and you
really can only play with like one more loss the
rest of the season to have any shot of making
the playoffs and turning their season around.

Speaker 2 (01:22:59):
So that's why it's hard for me.

Speaker 8 (01:23:01):
I would like to trust the Bears, but I also
know that the Ravens have their backs against the wall,
So I honestly don't know which way to go with
that game. But if you can get Bears at six
and a half, go ahead and get it.

Speaker 2 (01:23:09):
All these lines scare me, and like the one big
block window is full of touchdown favorites, full of them.
So if you feel any good feeling about the underdog,
you know, definitely ride that. I gosh, I don't even
know if I feel confident in saying it. I think
the easiest game I'm gonna take the stealers at home
getting points. I think that's a bounce back for them

(01:23:32):
after the Thursday night game Packers on the road. The
Packers have kind of flirted with that four to one
on one start. So I'm again I'm struggling with confidence
about really anything, maybe in my life, but definitely here
with these week eight picks. So I will go Steelers
getting points at home two and a half.

Speaker 8 (01:23:53):
I will co sign on that because that was mine
as well, Because you don't think Aaron Rodgers wants to
stick it to the Packers on national television.

Speaker 2 (01:23:59):
Yeah, it's a good point. That makes me feel a
little better. Yeah, and he actually kind of looks decent again.

Speaker 8 (01:24:04):
Yeah, Dk Metcalf has helped, but yeah, I would I
would think that that Steelers defense also has been given
an agenda by Aaron Rodgers, like get Jordan Love, get.

Speaker 2 (01:24:13):
Him a lot.

Speaker 3 (01:24:15):
This is my easiest game, right, Yes, Bengals Jets, you
trust the Bengals?

Speaker 2 (01:24:22):
Are you trusting the Jets?

Speaker 3 (01:24:24):
I very much trust the Jets to do what the
Jets do, stay and get up.

Speaker 2 (01:24:28):
And also one of those touchdown ones right is not
right around seven? So you are trusting the Bengals to
cover I guess six and a half.

Speaker 7 (01:24:35):
Officials, Yes, I am, because I know Joe flackol is
going to throw that dying to a lot of different
a lot of different receivers.

Speaker 3 (01:24:43):
And I think you.

Speaker 2 (01:24:44):
Think Woody Johnson's comments inspired Justin Field.

Speaker 7 (01:24:47):
Oh my goodness, could you imagine being Justin Fields. I
would have told him, Woody Johnson, you're paying me thirty
million dollars guaranteed. Bro, I'm gonna go out there and
throw the ball in the dirt next time you see me,
and the check better be down Tuesday.

Speaker 8 (01:24:58):
But you talk all the junkie one. I'm my bank
account is looking healthy.

Speaker 7 (01:25:01):
Yeah, you know, and shout out to Justin Fields. I
did it. You're a Christian, you believe in gud. He's like, oh,
you know, my faith come from the Lord.

Speaker 3 (01:25:08):
Boy. My faith would be reinvigorated in Jesus Christ.

Speaker 7 (01:25:11):
As soon as I saw my contract and my money.
Nothing makes me feel more inclined to, you know, believe
in God. And when I get paid, smite.

Speaker 3 (01:25:19):
All these haters.

Speaker 2 (01:25:21):
Just to remind everybody after that sermon, it is the
largest bye week in the NFL. So fantasy football lineup
probably should have been set last night. And I hope
you didn't play Justin Herbert or you know that Vital
Guy either, but six teams on a bye, so you
could be scrambled a little bit with your fantasy lineups
coming up this weekend. We close out the week every

(01:25:42):
week during football season with the Voice of the Colts
Matt Taylor. It's nine o'clock on a Friday. He joins
final hour of the week. Thank you for spending it
with us, Kevin bow and James Boyd and Mark Dyton.
Jeff will be back on Monday. Just a reminder Sunday
on our airwaves and it certainly impacts our next guests.

(01:26:03):
The Voice of the Colts, Matt Taylor. You will hear
him on ninety seven point one Hank FM, so the
Colts will be on that for the four to twenty
five kickoff Ride. Kickoff will be right here on the
fan JMB and Company getting things started about twelve thirty
and then with the Pacers in Minnesota, the Pacer game

(01:26:23):
will stay on the fan, but you will have the
Colts game over on ninety seven point one Hank FM
to talk more about it all. It is Friday's with
the Voice of the Colts, Matt Taylor. May take good
Friday morning to you, sir.

Speaker 10 (01:26:37):
Good morning gentlemen, how are we doing today?

Speaker 2 (01:26:39):
We are swell. It's probably more of an MLB play
by play question than most, but hell, you've had to
work your way through a couple fourth quarters like this
this season. Do you have blowout content?

Speaker 12 (01:26:53):
Yeah, you do.

Speaker 10 (01:26:53):
I mean you approach it differently. You turn it more
into a big picture talk show, you know, like, what
does this win mean or what is you know, you
frame it into the context of how well are we playing?

Speaker 15 (01:27:04):
Is this transferable?

Speaker 10 (01:27:05):
What does uh the immediate future of the season look like?
You know, you preview next week's game, so you know,
you're you're not as intensely breaking down every single movement
of a play. You're not you know, breaking down the
upcoming down and distance. You know, you're talking to your
analysts more like a talk show, kind of like what

(01:27:26):
you guys do, while also staying within the framework of
the game. Absolutely, but it's kind of like, you know,
it's kind of like the fourth quarter of that last
preseason game, you know what I mean. You turn it
into a talk show. You make a conversation, you talk about,
you know, how how well guys are playing and how
transferable things are for the regular season. So yeah, absolutely,

(01:27:47):
there's there's a difference between you know, how you handle
play by play in the fourth quarter, in the final
four minutes when it's a one score game versus.

Speaker 12 (01:27:57):
If it's a fourth quarter blowout.

Speaker 10 (01:27:59):
There's no question about it, the dynamic certainly changes.

Speaker 2 (01:28:02):
If I've ever asked you this, But do you have
any and I guess, take the NFL, take the Super
Bowl out of it. I don't know, maybe even take
the NDY five hundred out of it. Do you have
a bucket at sporting event that you would love to call?

Speaker 15 (01:28:16):
You know, I I don't per se.

Speaker 10 (01:28:18):
I mean, I'm I'm very very happy, and I enjoy
what I do.

Speaker 12 (01:28:22):
I really do.

Speaker 15 (01:28:23):
I mean, I think the NFL.

Speaker 10 (01:28:24):
Is just you know, obviously it's it's it's the eight
hundred pound gorilla, and it's it's the biggest thing going.
So I'm incredibly blessed to be, you know, where I'm
at and doing what I'm doing. But I would love to, uh,
you know, do some more, I guess, you know, if
I if I do have to select one, you know,
would love to, you know, do some more March Madness stuff.

(01:28:46):
I just think the pageantry of March Madness in the
one and done, you know, concept and Cinderella. Just to
be part of storylines like that would be.

Speaker 2 (01:28:54):
Can you did some conference tournament, right you and Tom
Green did? Was Ohio Valley?

Speaker 5 (01:28:57):
Maybe?

Speaker 12 (01:28:58):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (01:28:58):
I did it.

Speaker 12 (01:28:58):
Yeah, I did a couple of games. Yeah.

Speaker 10 (01:29:00):
I did a couple of games in March Madness last year. So,
I mean that was just incredibly cool and.

Speaker 15 (01:29:05):
Just just just to see.

Speaker 10 (01:29:07):
The guys, you know, from the smaller schools when they
you know, punched their their ticket to the you know,
the big dance, you know, the n CUAA tournament. I
mean it really is uh, it's it's it's dream come true.
You know, not only for the players, but for the
coaches too. They understand, you know, the magnitude of winning
those tournaments and elevating the profile of their head coaching

(01:29:28):
you know, personalities and the profiles of their schools and
the program. I mean, we had SIU Edwardsville last year
and their coach was uh the I think he was
like the video assistant or quality control guy under Tom Crean, uh,
you know, in his first years at IU. So they
were very very close, and so they had a huge

(01:29:50):
embrace at the end of that game.

Speaker 12 (01:29:52):
And you can just see it on their face.

Speaker 10 (01:29:54):
You can just see it in their body language, like
how life changing making the NCAA tournament is for those
guys at that level.

Speaker 7 (01:30:01):
That is the voice of Matt Taylor, who was also
the voice of the Colts and mate, I thought you
were going to say, for your you know event, me
and JV hooping at you know, Center Grove or something.
I would love to hear commentary on my bricks and
smoke the layups at a thirty in the morning on
a Sunday.

Speaker 12 (01:30:17):
By the way, you're James, step back, it's off again.

Speaker 2 (01:30:21):
You're your JMV impression that we heard early I think
it was earlier this week excellent, just so good.

Speaker 5 (01:30:29):
Does he like it?

Speaker 12 (01:30:31):
I think so.

Speaker 10 (01:30:32):
I mean he's always been a good sport about it,
and you know, producing that show for a couple of years,
like I did you know you got a front row
seats all the of.

Speaker 12 (01:30:41):
The j MB isms, if you will.

Speaker 10 (01:30:43):
It's like his own little language, you know, with uh,
you know, the southern Indiana drawl and you know, the
the Green County stuff. And he was He's an easy
guy to imitate, which means he's doing his job really
really well.

Speaker 12 (01:30:56):
And I think that's that's.

Speaker 10 (01:30:57):
The point is uh, you know, imitation is the most
sincere form of flattery, and so he always took it
with you know, good spirits and he knows how I
feel about him. So yeah, it's that's that's always in
the that's always in the arsenal. It's always part of
the repertoire.

Speaker 2 (01:31:12):
Before we transition to Taylor's tidbitz, could we get twenty
seconds of JMV on Friday at I don't know where
he's at the Almporium something like that.

Speaker 12 (01:31:19):
Listen here.

Speaker 10 (01:31:20):
I don't know how you guys do it in the morning.
I mean, you get up at six am and you
talk about this absolute clown show here, the foo bar
that is that was in this case not anymore any longer.
Here with the Colts roll in the Pacers, NBA Finals representatives,
Indiana University football absolutely taking names down in Bloomington under

(01:31:41):
Kurt Signetti. But it used to be absolute foo bar
around here, kind of a clown show, a lot of
losing mentality. No longer the case. Now you can follow
my voice to the savings at Myer, the official supercenter.

Speaker 15 (01:31:56):
Of the Ride with JMB.

Speaker 10 (01:31:57):
They've got you covered with Pacers, Cole Cardinals, who I
don't represent, but the Reds, the Cubs, whatever you're into,
White Box, David, I will, I will give you the
savings at Meyer, the official supercenter of the Ride with
AMD We're back in a minute.

Speaker 2 (01:32:13):
That is excellence, beautiful, beautiful as always.

Speaker 10 (01:32:18):
All right, Middallas, here's the deal, absolute, here's the deal.
Now you got me Roland, all right, you wound me
up and now you can't stop this bad boy.

Speaker 15 (01:32:27):
Where do you want to start here?

Speaker 10 (01:32:28):
Three to six, Hagen's gonna stop by.

Speaker 15 (01:32:30):
He doesn't work on Fridays.

Speaker 10 (01:32:31):
I got the girls from which TV from w t HR.
It is going to be fans staking task.

Speaker 3 (01:32:37):
This sounds just like him.

Speaker 2 (01:32:39):
Oh my god. That literally you just said three oh
seven to three oh nine today for John Michael Vincent.
That's a voice of the Colts. Matt Taylor, it's a Friday.
He's with us. You know what that means, Taylor till.

Speaker 17 (01:32:50):
Let's dive into the nitty gritty.

Speaker 3 (01:32:53):
I never knew that.

Speaker 17 (01:32:54):
Grab a seat and take notes from care. There's storylines
all over the coming game. You serious, Clark say it's
time for Taylor's tidbits?

Speaker 9 (01:33:07):
All right?

Speaker 10 (01:33:07):
I got four I'll go quick, all right, the first
one's rapid fire. Let's talk about the postseason chances here
for the Colts, right, it's never too early to talk
about getting a home playoff game and what this season
could be.

Speaker 15 (01:33:19):
I think it's time to.

Speaker 10 (01:33:19):
Kind of recalibrate after a six to one start, just
how special of a season this could be here for
the Colts.

Speaker 12 (01:33:25):
All right.

Speaker 10 (01:33:26):
Since nineteen ninety six and one teams make the playoffs
eighty eight percent of the time.

Speaker 12 (01:33:31):
Seven and one.

Speaker 10 (01:33:32):
Teams make the postseason ninety six point five percent of
the time. All right, so let's keep this train rolling
on Sunday, because the analytics say, hey, you're seven to one,
it's pretty close to a darn shirt thing. You're going
to make the postseason. We'll see if the Colts can.

Speaker 12 (01:33:48):
Get it done.

Speaker 15 (01:33:49):
All right, Let's talk red zone.

Speaker 10 (01:33:51):
For the Colts, they jump all the way up to
eighth in the NFL so far in the red zone,
thanks in part the scoring touchdowns on fourteen of their
life fifteen red zone trips. Remember when people were griping
about the red zone like that was the that was
the one thing in the first three games that.

Speaker 3 (01:34:08):
Was Kevin Bowen yeah, hand raise over here.

Speaker 10 (01:34:10):
Yeah, Like that was the one thing people are like, Okay,
this is a good offense.

Speaker 12 (01:34:13):
They're scoring a lot of points, but.

Speaker 10 (01:34:15):
Man, they'd be so much better inside the red zone
and case in point. Right, in the first three games
of the season, they were seven for sixteen in weeks
one through three, that was forty three percent, which ranked twenty.

Speaker 15 (01:34:27):
Six in the NFL.

Speaker 10 (01:34:29):
In just a month's time, they went from twenty six
to eight. And they're even better in goal to go situations.

Speaker 9 (01:34:36):
Right.

Speaker 10 (01:34:37):
Dating back to last year, the Colts have scored a
touchdown on each of their last twenty six.

Speaker 12 (01:34:43):
Goal to go drives.

Speaker 10 (01:34:45):
Again, they are twenty six for their last twenty six
goal to go drive scoring touchdowns. That's the second longest
streak this century. The record is twenty nine straight by
the twenty.

Speaker 15 (01:34:58):
Twenty two Arizona Cardinals. All Right, and I love this.

Speaker 10 (01:35:02):
Guy because he's coming off the bench, being brought up
off the practice squad.

Speaker 15 (01:35:07):
And he's delivering. All Right, He's been.

Speaker 10 (01:35:08):
Off the practice squad three straight weeks. Now he's on
the active roster. He's a primary running back behind Jonathan Taylor.
I'm talking about at Mir Abdullah. In year number eleven.
Last week, an eighty one yard kickoff return has set
up the Colts first touchdown in the second half. He's
the NFL's active leader in kickoff returns and kickoff return yardage.

Speaker 15 (01:35:30):
But he's a lot more than just a football player.

Speaker 10 (01:35:33):
I don't know if you guys saw this, but he's
a football or I should say he's a movie buff.
He loves the art form of cinema.

Speaker 12 (01:35:40):
In fact, he's appeared in a lot of movies.

Speaker 10 (01:35:42):
He's appeared in a movie called Hell on the Porter
in twenty nineteen. He's appeared in a movie called Monstrous
in twenty twenty two, another flick called Hide and Bleed
in twenty twenty one. He's also appeared in the film
called Break the Cycle, and that's got some high pro
file stuff in and man, some actors in that movie.
You've got guys like Juba Gooding Junior and Vivica A.

Speaker 17 (01:36:06):
Fox.

Speaker 15 (01:36:06):
He's also produced.

Speaker 12 (01:36:07):
A short film called Joshua Tree.

Speaker 10 (01:36:10):
So he's a really good conversation inside that Coults locker room.

Speaker 12 (01:36:13):
And he's a well rounded guy.

Speaker 10 (01:36:14):
He's got a lot of culture, got a lot of cinema,
and he loves the arts as well, so a mira aboo,
a sip of the cat man. You're an interesting cat,
all right. Last one is the Tennessee Titans have fallen
on tough times. They started one in six in back
to back seasons, first time they've started one and six
or worse in consecutive years for the first time since

(01:36:35):
nineteen eighty two to nineteen eighty four. And obviously they
weren't the Tennessee Titans back then. That's the Houston Oilers.
But it wasn't that long ago where the Titans were
like the team to beat.

Speaker 15 (01:36:46):
They used to get the Colts. They kind of fits.
They were the top seed in the AFC in twenty.

Speaker 10 (01:36:51):
Twenty one, but since then fellas they are combined seventeen
and forty one. They've got the fewest wins in the
NFL in that fan and Tennessee is one of two
teams this year, along with the surprisingly inefficient Philadelphia Eagles,
who are still five and two, but the Titans of
Eagles one of two teams this year to be out

(01:37:12):
gained in every single game this year, and dating back
to last year, the Titans have allowed more touchdowns than
they have scored in thirteen straight games. So they got
a rookie quarterback, they fired their head coach, and obviously
a lot of people are picking the Colts to win
this game on Sunday, But you still got to go
out and.

Speaker 15 (01:37:31):
Play and we'll see how it goes. This weekend at
four twenty five.

Speaker 2 (01:37:34):
Boy, that a mirror of Dulla stuff. I had no
idea that was fascinating. I'm looking up here. He's the
youngest of nine kids, and he was signed with the
fifty three manter roster over the weekend, so when they
put Savarious Ward on injured reserve, they brought him up,
so he'll be up there, I guess for the foreseeable future.
That red zone stat in the goal to go Matt,

(01:37:56):
I mean, that thing is just insane. How official they've been,
and the fact that they stopped their own red zone
streak themselves by kicking the field goal at the end
of the first half is just kind of funny. If
the same was so mad about that, yeah, oh yeah,
yeah I could. Yes, Shane, I can definitely tell not
too pleased, because you know, when you think about it,

(01:38:16):
And I asked Shane this earlier in the week, like,
what's the most impressive thing about your offense right now
because there's so many numbers. Yeah, you know, he just
one of the generic points, which you know, I was
kind of like, really, but you know, he is right
on that. To me, it's probably the red zone of
the goal to go, Matt, because you just see it
every week where teams move it. I mean, the Colts
have been out gained. I mean you might have the
number that they've probably been out gained in each of

(01:38:38):
the last two games, or at least if you combine
them the last two, they probably have been and yet
here they are, you know, fourteen points better than the
Chargers because they finish off drives and the Chargers didn't.

Speaker 12 (01:38:47):
Yeah.

Speaker 10 (01:38:48):
No, I mean to your point, I mean, it would
be fifteen out of fifteen, but they just they just
ran out of time. And there's no reason to think
that at the end of that second quarter that if
they had more time that they you know, they absolutely
would have scored based on you know, just how well
this offense is rolling and how much they're executing inside
the twenty yard line. And again it sounds cliche, but
you think players and not plays inside the twenty yard line,

(01:39:11):
and you scheme up your best guys Michael Pittman Junior,
and you know Tyler Warren and then Josh downs in
the slot when he's healthy because he can just find
those those small little windows and zone defense inside the
red zone. But I think the biggest thing, too, is
that they're running the ball well inside the red zone.
And you have to run the ball well inside the
red zone to set you up in favorable down in distance,

(01:39:34):
you know, near the goal line, or if it's like
you know, third and three at the at the ten
or something, you need a first down at the seven.

Speaker 12 (01:39:41):
You still have to be able to run the.

Speaker 10 (01:39:43):
Ball in tight quarters. And I think the Colts are
doing that. Give Jonathan Taylor a lot of credit, give
this offensive line a lot of credit. But it's it's been,
it's it's been so fascinating because I said it at
the end of that second quarter. You know when the
Colts executed that two minute drive to perfection, and again
the only reason why they didn't get a touchdown is

(01:40:03):
because they just ran out of time. But how about
when Michael Pittman Junior gets a first down and gets tackled,
and he immediately instead of just giving the ball to
the ref he runs over to the center and he
hands the ball to Tanner Bordolini to get it spotted
as quick as possible to save the Colts some time
to get on the ball to spike it with three seconds.

(01:40:24):
Bring on the field goal team get a walk off
field goal there before halftime. I mean, I just said
it on air. I mean, the Colts are just so
well coached, They are so well drilled.

Speaker 5 (01:40:33):
And schooled in this stuff.

Speaker 12 (01:40:35):
And it started back in training camp.

Speaker 10 (01:40:37):
And you know, I told you guys then I love
the fact that the Colts spent a ton of time
doing more team periods and more simulated periods like you know,
two minute drills or you know, red zone or third
down instead of you know, I think there's a lot
of merit to seven on seven and individual periods. But
you get better at playing football by playing football and

(01:40:58):
putting yourself into football situations. And that's what training camp
was all about. And I think Shane Steiken deserves a
ton of credit for how this team prepares, how they practice,
the level of professionalism they have throughout the course of
the week, and you just see it show up in
little bitty windows that are just you know, for someone
like me, that's a football purist. When they execute a

(01:41:21):
dot high on the level, it gives you so much
joy because you know, quite frankly, we've been we've been
subjected to a lot.

Speaker 15 (01:41:27):
Of up and down football the last couple of years.

Speaker 2 (01:41:29):
Yeah, I've said it quite often. I think the Colts
are almost weekly the smarter football team and that can
go a long, long way. And that start. I mean
Shane Stiken sneak in a time out against Jim Harball.
You know, those little things they add up over time.
Just a reminder again, that is ninety seven point one
Hank f n. That's where you'll find Matt Taylor, Rick
Vonturry and Larra over ten for twenty five the kickoff

(01:41:51):
coming up on Sunday. Mayta this from Q. I literally
thought that was JMV earlier on the imperson a.

Speaker 10 (01:42:00):
So well, here's the deal to you will just follow
my voice. I will have a great, great ass time
coming up three to six. We will talk about the
greatness that is Kurt Signetty big game against the Bruins
down South, Quo. You got me dialed in on the stream,
the app, the lounge, wherever you find us, that's where
you need to be locked in locked and loaded every

(01:42:21):
day three to six for this bad boy.

Speaker 2 (01:42:23):
Oh beautiful, absolutely beautiful, the one, the only Matt Taylor.
May Tayan we will see in.

Speaker 12 (01:42:29):
A couple hours, sir, all right, boys, have a good one.

Speaker 2 (01:42:32):
That's Matt Taylor right there. Voice of the cults, is
that Matt Taylor on the palot. He can be Marv Albert,
he can be Don Fisher, he can do a whole
whole lot.

Speaker 3 (01:42:38):
Yeah, we already had Kevin Bowen, Kevin Bowen's Dappelganger.

Speaker 2 (01:42:42):
Oh, Dominic Morane.

Speaker 3 (01:42:44):
I'm starting to hear more and more of a week,
I tell you. And then we got the jamb Doppleganger.

Speaker 2 (01:42:48):
We got it all. We got you covered. In about ten,
let's play Rick Carlile's reaction to the gambling news in
the NBA from yesterday. Rick had on it a pre
game I'm talked about for about a then or so
and had some comments about Chauncey Billups and just kind
of where the pacers were at from that standpoint. And
so we'll play that coming up for you here around

(01:43:08):
nine thirty before that, Mark Dyton, let's go and check
it out.

Speaker 9 (01:43:13):
The morning Checkdown on ninety sweet five and one oh
seven five the fan well.

Speaker 2 (01:43:18):
Inside of the Gambridge field House last night. We're used
to the Pacers showing some guts, showing some grits. They
did that once again. Unfortunately they're not in in a
winning manner though they lose in double ot just frankly
ran out of bodies. I thought once mather and fouled
out there early in the second overtime, it was probably over.
SGA had fifty five, Matherin thirty six, Siakam thirty two,

(01:43:43):
James Boyd just simply the empty tank came on for
the Pacers.

Speaker 7 (01:43:47):
I think, Yeah, this felt like when I was playing
video games as a kid and I forgot to turn
off the fatigue. Turned off of fatigue made the game
a lot more fun. God's getting tired, not fun.

Speaker 2 (01:43:58):
Yeah, it's a good way to put it. They were
scrambling with the point guard situation, and it sounds like
they could be here for We'll see how long. Andrew
Demhar left with a left shoulder injury. He actually played
through it. It looks like I was kind of I
went back and watch the first half. I mean, he
definitely gets locked with SGA at one point appears to
indre it but played all the way up until halftime

(01:44:19):
and then did not return to the game. Rick Carlo
didn't own overly optimistic about it afterwards, So we'll await
official word on that, because who the hell knows what
point guard's gonna look like for the Pacers coming up
on this road trip at Memphis tomorrow. That's no Zach
Yede still right, he's dealing with that ankle from.

Speaker 3 (01:44:35):
The ankle whatever it was, ankle.

Speaker 2 (01:44:37):
And the off season. But Ja Morant is playing so
Memphis tomorrow, Anthony Edwards and the Tea Wolves coming up
Sunday at Dallas on Wednesday for the Pacers their first
road trip of the season, all right over at West
fifty sixth Street. We'll see Matt Taylor in a few
hours at the final Colts practice of the week. James Boyd,
you will be caring about what.

Speaker 7 (01:44:57):
I want to see Josh downs out there. Always a
little bit tricky with concussions. Wats just takes rephrase that
it can be tricky with concussions. You want to see
him complete the cycle through the protocol and get back
out on the field obviously Sunday, and then from there
not too much else to really worry about a couple
of rest days. I would imagine for DeForest Buckner and
probably a few others. Maybe it's not here Franklin, but

(01:45:20):
their is report is pretty much what I expected. You know,
does Jayalen Jones get out there and practice. I wouldn't
expect him to play this week. I wouldn't playhim this week.
But more or less, I feel it's the big week
for j T. Twoey moloile because you're down probably two
year defensive ends.

Speaker 2 (01:45:33):
Yeah, I think right now Josh Downs is a go.
Ashton Dolan's ago Jalen Jones, I'm with you, probably one
more week and then at d End. I think Sampson
Ebacon will definitely be out. We'll see about Taekwon Lewis.
He's yet to practice this week, and to your point,
that can mean JT. Twoy Malo out and the Titans
they are banged up. No Lagarious Snead, no Calvin Ridley,
no Jeffrey Simmons coming up here on Sunday. We'll give

(01:45:54):
our Colts Titans picks in a field, all right, Thursday
a football was a route. Last night. The Chargers back in.
They are good looking uniforms all over the Vikings. In
that one, Carson Wentz looked hurt and looked bad. We'll
see how quickly they can get JJ McCarthy back in
the lineup. World Series Game one is tonight. That is
almost said the Yankees. That is Dodgers and Blue Jays

(01:46:17):
north of the border. Correct, we're starting the series in
Toronto's that right? I believe so, and that will be
some viewing for you here on this Friday evening. Speaking
of Friday, it is the start of sectional play around
the state. Again, a lot of the smaller classes tonight,
you know, locially, we don't have a ton of action here.
Addicts at Burbuff, Shtard at Moorsville, Garren at Hamilton Heights,

(01:46:40):
Round Collie at Northview, Heritage, Christian at Ritter, Monrovia at
Cecina Whiteland, Seymour. Your only five day matchup of the
night six A. With such a small class, they will
start up coming up next weekend college football down in Bloomington,
Indiana and UCLA. James Boyd, you worried at all about
the brow for Kurtz Signetti's bunch. They are a massive underdog.

Speaker 7 (01:47:03):
On a scale of one to ten, I'll put it
at a four. I mean they give me a little trepidation,
but not much because I just think that IU is rolling.
And if there is anybody who's gonna, you know, tell
Seem to stay with from the rat poison, it will.

Speaker 2 (01:47:16):
Be assuming Nico Emilie Alva. However you say his last
name is healthy for UCLA. I am a little surprised.
This line is very similar to the Michigan state line.
I thought it'd be a little close, like seventeen or four.
I thought it'd be a little bit closer, but it's
huge twenty four to twenty five. And this is de
Signetti bump here coming up. Well Signetti, ye, he definitely
likes to cover. So that is Noon on Fox Big

(01:47:39):
nuone Kickoffs. Speaking of noon home coming up there in
West Lafayette, Perdue welcoming in Drake Chiano and the Rutgers
Scarlett Knights, two winless Big Ten teams. Rutgers actually a
slight favorite in this one. We'll see who produce. Starting
quarterback will be Ryan Brown, banged up in their shutout
lost Northwestern last week. Speaking of the Boilers, Matt Painter

(01:48:00):
and Company down in Lexington tonight, I think it's SEC
Network for the Purdue Faithful very ready for a basketball
season exhibition game with Kentucky. Matt Painter did announced yesterday
their starting lineup coming up. Braden Smith, Fletcher Lawyer, Trey Kaufman,
ran Oscar Kluff, the big man from down Under for
his rebounding, will be in the starting lineup over Daniel

(01:48:20):
Jacobson and c J. Cox. So I really like I
think boy ever since at Alabama game early in his
freshman career. I think he just does a lot of
the Andrew Nemar type of little things. For Purdue, he
will round out the starting line. It's kind of funny
one of the things we haven't really talked about with Perdue,
and I get it when you bring back you know,
three players as star star of their careers have been

(01:48:42):
sometimes in college basketball or college sports in general, you
say it often, what about sophomore leaps who kind of
takes that jump? I produ's had a lot of them
over the years. Well that's c J. Cox, that's Jakari Harris,
that's Daniel Jacobson back from injury. I know Matt Painter
has spoken highly of Jack Bentter from brown Sown Central
as a shooter. Maybe being kind of a stretch for
for him. So it just kind of goes show you

(01:49:03):
produce depth, which is one of the things I think
Matt Painter is very bullish on this season and what
separates them maybe from even some past Purdue teams that
you've held in high regard. All right. On the other side,
Rick Carlile's thoughts on the gambling news around the NBA
will play that for you still give me? Is this
what they play right before the Motorcycle comes out? Coolink?

(01:49:25):
So Joker in the Thief by wolf Mother. Gosh, it's
just picturing myself, like in a bar, being able to
do that stand in the corner on stage.

Speaker 3 (01:49:35):
This is when I wish I had bangs, could just
yeap my hand.

Speaker 2 (01:49:38):
People like being like, man, look at that guy.

Speaker 3 (01:49:40):
I know I want to be that guy.

Speaker 2 (01:49:42):
James is wearing X ray glasses and Kevin is Notre
Dame Notre Dame basketball T shirt. You guys coming over
tonight Notre Dame to Paul exhibition game six point thirty.
I'll bring the daisy sour cream, say French onion and
rams dip whatever preferably. Yeah, all of it's good.

Speaker 3 (01:50:00):
It doesn't matter what I'm tired after the last I'm
not gonna lie to you, man, I am.

Speaker 2 (01:50:03):
Too hell of an effort you gave last night. You
walked out of Gambridge Field House very very late. Rick
Carlisle did have some comments pregame on what a wild
day it was in the NBA yesterday. Rick Carlisle, head
of the Coaches Association right for at least a couple
more months, if I'm not mistaken. Here were his thoughts
on what was quite the news day with Adam Silver

(01:50:24):
in the building last night at Gambridge.

Speaker 14 (01:50:26):
That's a shocking day.

Speaker 5 (01:50:30):
You know.

Speaker 14 (01:50:30):
I reached out today to Chauncey to see how he
was doing. He did not answer. But you know, the
Coaches Association we you know, we support all of our
coaches and so reached out to him and his and
his representatives and I'll just kind of leave it at that.
But yeah, and this is, you know, this is a

(01:50:55):
very serious situation. You know. The irony I guess of
it is from my perspective, yesterday was a day when
our general Counsel came down and read us all the
regulations on gambling and all and warned, you know, our
coaching staff, our players, our support staff about all these

(01:51:17):
different things. In terms of the details of the allegations,
I don't know any of that, but it's a it's
a world that's a different world than it was a
few years ago with with the advent of legalized gambling.
And I guess there's another aspect of the of this
is unrelated to basketball. So you know, I will not

(01:51:39):
comment on that. But a shocking day and uh, you know,
we'll see what happens as as all the facts are
car collected.

Speaker 2 (01:51:54):
So again, out was Rick Carlisle pre game.

Speaker 3 (01:51:57):
I'm sorry for Leven.

Speaker 2 (01:51:58):
Last night.

Speaker 3 (01:52:00):
I called Chauncey. He did not answer.

Speaker 2 (01:52:04):
That is my favorite part of the whole thing.

Speaker 3 (01:52:06):
It sounds like we're doing on Saturday Night live bit.
I know Rick Carlos being dead serious, but I am
not a serious person myself, so I gotta giggle at that.

Speaker 2 (01:52:17):
That is hilarious. I can't imagine why Chauncey wasn't answering
his phone. And man, God bless Rick Carlisle for wearing
the hat of being the head of.

Speaker 3 (01:52:24):
The coach associate.

Speaker 2 (01:52:25):
Boy, he's gonna back, He's he's gonna, you know, support
his coach. That is support like you wouldn't believe Mark
what you said during the break about Chauncey's phone yesterday.

Speaker 8 (01:52:33):
I've been Cash Pateel was probably hanging out with it,
and he's like, I gotta take this call real quick
though it's it's Rick Carlisle. Could you imagine when he
does get his phone back, he's seen miscalls like Rick
Carlisle called me like twenty minutes afterwards, Cash, it's Tuesday.

Speaker 2 (01:52:46):
And eight man, we gotta get Rick Carlile on the
line here. Uh yeah, that I did have to chuckle
at that. For those that maybe have missed the story
or not totally up to date in the game, guys,
feel free to correct me on anything that you feel
like I am wrong or I'm missing here. Let's start
with Terry Rozier, playing the league for about a decade,
currently with Miami Heat. I don't think he played on

(01:53:07):
Opening Night, but a couple of years ago in a
game with Charlotte, he had a game where he exited
early due to injury, and it was later known he
had informed whatever some people that this was the plan
and that a massive amount of money was bet on
his unders for the night. So these are individual player props.

(01:53:28):
You know, typically you can bet on over and unders
on points, rebounds, assist three pointers made, that sort of thing,
and that is the Terry Rogier element to this. Chauncey Billups.
It sounds like there are a couple of questions. One
involved in an underground poker game across multiple cities with

(01:53:53):
I guess some sort of affiliation or association with the
Italian mafia in that there were doctored up cards, There
was special glasses worn that had some sort of vision
element to them that helped see through things. There were
cameras in the tables, and you know, wirings of people

(01:54:15):
outside the venue to people inside the venue on what
cards were. I mean, just all of it sounds wild.
Sounds like a Netflix show, it really does. But the
Billups stuff, it doesn't sound like stops there. It sounds
like he might have been a part of a little
bit of the Rogier side of it in this way
and providing again intel to people out there on when

(01:54:36):
the Trailblazers and again for those that haven't kept up
with it, Chauncey Billups has been the Trailblazer's coach and
it's currently the Trailblazer's coach for the last four years
providing some intel on who they were playing, they were tanking,
blah blah blah, you know that sort of which I
get there's a little bit of gray area in some
of that, but still I think that's where we're at
with all of this. The four teams that were bet on,

(01:54:58):
the Hornets, the Lakers, the Raptors, and the tr Trailblazers.

Speaker 13 (01:55:03):
What a.

Speaker 7 (01:55:06):
Unique situation. To put it mildly, I thought I could
say bleep show that too, I mean, my goodness. And
then you got Damon Jones, former Calves assistant coach, former
Cavs player, apparently telling people when Lebron's not gonna play
and get money from that. So Lebron James had his

(01:55:26):
name included in some of that stuff, not that he
did anything wrong, but this is widespread.

Speaker 3 (01:55:33):
This is an epidemic.

Speaker 8 (01:55:35):
I think the NBA as a whole has a erosion
of trust amongst fans. Like we had the Tim Donneghe
stuff back in the day, We've had this now, But
we also had like the Kawhi stuff just a couple
months ago with that too, And so there's all this
stuff going on where it's like and we knew this
was gonna happen with sports once you take the gambling money.

(01:55:56):
But when people are putting their hard earned money on
games and this and that, this is kind of the
line in the sand that you're crossing that stuff like
this is gonna start happening where people are going to
have doubts about like, hmm, that guy went two of
eleven tonight? Was it possibly because he had the under
And I'm not saying other players are doing this, but

(01:56:17):
that's what people are going to think because there's just
been an erosion of trust in the NBA and how
this has gone, because it seems like it's one thing
after another where there's you know, oh, hm luka, Doncic
gets dealt to LA and no one knew that the
Dallas Mavericks were shopping him. He just happened to go
to La. Oh and look who ended up with Cooper flag.
What a nice what a nice gift for Dallas. You know,

(01:56:38):
there's just lots of things going on around the league
where it's like there is a trust issue here and
these kinds of things happening are not helping anybody, including
the league as far as getting trust from the public.

Speaker 2 (01:56:49):
Yeah, I think there's a lot of truth, and that
even if all of those things aren't necessarily obviously fully true, Mark,
I do think benefit of the doubt in the public
eye is a very quickly.

Speaker 7 (01:57:01):
Two quick points. One, Kawhi Leonard, here's a get out
of jail free card. I guess, I mean, he's now
like the story that we're probably not gonna follow us
closely because how crazy this other stuff is. And then two,
so your point about eroding trust, One of the bigger
questions I have is how did the NBA investigate Terry

(01:57:21):
Rose here They were notified to this early two years ago,
investigated it, and then they came to the conclusion that
he didn't do anything wrong. And then the FBI step
saying and it says no, no, no, no, no, yes he did.

Speaker 3 (01:57:33):
And then again the.

Speaker 7 (01:57:36):
Enormous amount of evidence so far that we've read about
leads me to believe.

Speaker 3 (01:57:43):
And again, I don't know much.

Speaker 7 (01:57:44):
I'm not in the rooms with these people, but I'm like,
did you sweep this under the rug? Because how are
they saying people got money and then dropped it off
at his house after he did it, and you were like,
oh no, we looked at it.

Speaker 3 (01:57:54):
You know what, Terry did you do this. No, yeah,
I mean what I think.

Speaker 2 (01:58:00):
And this goes back. Do you guys remember when we
had the SEC baseball coach that placed it was affiliated
to somewhere in Cincinnati by the Red Stadium. He placed
the bets there he knew the starting pitcher was going
to be out for that Friday night's game, or you know,
he knew the SC baseball coach that had informed him
of this. And remember it immediately flagged, like why is
someone in Ohio betting six figures on an SEC baseball game?

(01:58:24):
So my question is, because they said the Rosier thing
flagged like immediately at two o'clock in the afternoon, why
are all these people flooding the unders on Terry Rozier
for a game happening five hours from now, like when
that immediately flagging happens. I get the investigation needs to
be thorough, but to me, having to wait two years
before we then get to this is a huge issue.

(01:58:47):
You've got to get this settled as quickly and attack
it as possible in order to offer some And I
get it, you're a long ways away from solving integrity
and whatever, you know, getting the public back on the
side of benefit to Mark's point that he just laid
out there, but like that to me is also a
big issue, and you just can't linger for as long

(01:59:07):
as it did.

Speaker 8 (01:59:08):
And on top of all that, you've got people spending
harder money on expensive tickets, and then you've got the
whole well they're gonna rest today or the stars are
going you never know when anyone's playing.

Speaker 2 (01:59:17):
There's a lot going on.

Speaker 8 (01:59:19):
With it too, where it's just like, and I love
the NBA, but these are just issues that have mounted
over the years and you can just see where people
are like, oh, right, what is going on here? Like
Adam Silver is a very player friendly commissioner and all
that stuff, but at some point you guys say, all right,
you got to put your foot down on something because
this can't keep happening on every.

Speaker 7 (01:59:36):
Single joke yesterday. And I don't mean this in a
trolling way, but like Andrew Neimhart gets hurt.

Speaker 3 (01:59:42):
And if people are like I mentioned, they're just like, oh,
what's going on with Andre Nemhart, I'm like.

Speaker 8 (01:59:47):
Yeah, it's goook for the Lea Lebron and Steph ain't
gonna be here much longer, so you got to have
some new stars coming and all that stuff.

Speaker 2 (01:59:55):
So you've got.

Speaker 8 (01:59:56):
A litany of issues going on, and you're gonna have
a transition periods as far as NBA star power is concerned.
So it is, it's tough sledding right now. I would say,
if you're in the NBA office this morning.

Speaker 2 (02:00:06):
Yeah, I'm typically a person that can put a lot
of that stuff to the side. And I thoroughly enjoyed
watching the game last night. But when it starts a
snowball and it starts to add up, frankly, it's very
hard to ignore, very hard to ignore. All Right, we'll
do one final time here. We'll give our picks Colts
Titans here in week eight. Well, thank you for starting
your Friday morning with us Kevin Bow and James Boyd

(02:00:28):
and Mark Dyke, Dan James. You did write a piece
up on the Athletic with some potential trade deadline candidates.
A week from Tuesday is the NFL trade down? Like
kind of a quiet week the NFL with trades after
a little bit of a busier October. A name or
two that was uber intriguing to you that you threw
on that list because you did all the positions right defensively,

(02:00:49):
corner linebacker and d end Oh Lord.

Speaker 3 (02:00:55):
Mark dyked in you very flexible.

Speaker 2 (02:00:56):
James Boyd one of a kind, my friend we're talking about.

Speaker 3 (02:01:00):
Yeah, I went through a couple of names.

Speaker 7 (02:01:02):
I would say of the more talented and bigger names
that are sire realistic, I think Jalen Phillips and Bradley Chubb,
the Miami Dolphins defensive ends, are worth looking into. Jalen
Phillips for my first round pick, has some injury history,
but he's six', five he's, explosive he is healthy again this.
Year Knock On wood and Then Bradley, chubb older, player

(02:01:26):
so has a couple of years left on his. DEAL
i think three is left on his, deal but no
guarantee money after this. Season two Time pro. BOWLER i
think those two guys could absolutely help you in the
past rush. Game i've reached out to Some titans PEOPLE i.
Know they were all like anybody who's not named Cam
ward The Jeffer simmons Upper. Crabs SO i had a
like Arden, kia an edge rusher from. There if look at,

(02:01:49):
Linebackers Logan wilson From Ben baby The let me back
up a little. Bit Logan wilson is A Cincinnati bengals
Linebacker ESPN's Been baby reported that he requested a try.
TRADE i had him on my list as, well work
with Lou An, arumo kind of rangy. Guy can he
help you and be had FOR i put in here
every player THAT i put out there for as far potential,

(02:02:11):
trade what their competition would? Be fifth round pick For Logan,
wilson upgrade your linebacker? Room is it worth? It he's familiar.
Face and then looking at some of the cornerbacks another familiar.
FACE i forgot to say his first, name but A WOOZY,
a the cornerback for The Baltimore ravens is someone who
played For An. Arumo could be had for probably a
Late day three, pick just a little more insurance when

(02:02:35):
it comes to the cornerback. Room so plenty of names out,
there BUT i tried to keep my list of ten
players to ten PLAYERS i could realistically see The colts
actually making a move. For so No Miles, garrett No Max,
crosby No Trey. Hendrickson you, know. Boohoo but you Know
i've tried to keep you all and not cheat you
all with the.

Speaker 2 (02:02:54):
Exercise, yeah, yeah we had a text. Here you know
what a second and fifth be something they would do
For Trey. HENDRICKSON i just don't See cincinnati doing. It
and what was the Important Alber, Breer i'm a reporter
earlier this, Year Albert Albert breer HAD i think it
was a first In Grover. Stewart is that right For?
Henderson since he didn't see, THAT i thought he, DID
i could be a point. BEING i, mean they're back
in the playoff. Mix that win last week Against pittsburgh

(02:03:16):
was huge for, them, sure and they got The jets
coming up this. Weekend The. Jets all, right let's go
around the horn here with our. Picks it is a
fourteen and a half point Spread colts Over. Titans you
starting to, mind. Everybody it's a twelfth time since the
turn of the century The colts have been a touchdown
or more. Favorite they are ten and one in these.

(02:03:37):
Games it's the second biggest favorite of anything we've seen
here in THE nfl this, season and the over under
for the four to twenty five kickoff is forty seven
and a. Half Mark, dyton you want to leave us?

Speaker 3 (02:03:49):
Off?

Speaker 2 (02:03:50):
Sure?

Speaker 8 (02:03:50):
Uh, YEAH i don't think this is going to be.
CLOSE i, think like you, said this might be like
a mini bye week for The, colts BECAUSE i think
a lot of the starters might get some some rest,
time especially in the second half got The colts rolling
thirty four to. TEN i don't know If Jason hammer,
said throw down some extra coin On Jonathan taylor for three,
TOUCHDOWNS i would love that as A Jonathan taylor fantasy football.

(02:04:11):
OWNER i also don't know if he's gonna play is
enough enough to get? Rough, YEAH i mean it might
be kind of a you, know throw a dart against
the board as far as anytime touchdown, scores because you
might have a a plethora Of colts wide receivers and
running backs getting in onn thora, plethora, plethora.

Speaker 2 (02:04:26):
PLETHORA i don't, KNOW i need to call.

Speaker 8 (02:04:28):
It James, rekestraw Jo, Jesus Greg Greg, Straw james, too.

Speaker 3 (02:04:33):
Baby, yeah let's get to the. Weekend.

Speaker 2 (02:04:35):
Please feels like you got That woodford shot from yesterday
still sitting on your system.

Speaker 3 (02:04:41):
And it'll get you.

Speaker 7 (02:04:42):
Drunk i'm Going colts thirty one, thirteen flipping the old score.
THERE i don't see The titans scoring more than one
touchdown in this.

Speaker 3 (02:04:51):
Game thirty one six.

Speaker 2 (02:04:55):
Over WHICH i, mean, hey good, lord they're bad and they're.
Hurt not a good combo there, Again Jeffrey, simmons Lu Jerious,
Sneed Calvin ridley all. Out this is first versus. Worse
and you know, WHAT i hold The colts in particularly
high regard when it comes to handling their business being a.
Professional The colts don't strike him as a team that

(02:05:16):
you know will be out partying late. Tonight Shane stick
And Daniel jones were doing. Well they were At hinkle Last,
friday SO i don't think that it will be anything
too too crazy from an overlooking. Stamp we have sixty seconds.
Left one way that The titans can make this game.
Close they are healthier at running Back Taj, Spears Tony.
Pollard that's a nice, COMBO i, think and their own

(02:05:37):
line is a little bit healthier than it was in week.
Three but CLEARLY i don't believe that BECAUSE i just
said it with my score.

Speaker 7 (02:05:42):
Was they find out that The colts are running an
underground gambling ring that involved the, mafia and they reported
To Roger goodell and they forfeit the.

Speaker 2 (02:05:52):
Game Shane stikeen does offer a pretty good poker face
at times During. Prescott i'm just Saying whenever he doesn't
want to talk about something, though he gets real. QUIET
i think you can know when he shows his. Cards
process a, lot he, says process a. Lot thank you,
boys enjoying it the last couple of days, Again jeff
will be back On. Monday just remind everybody it'll Be
HAKE fm ninety seven point one for the game coverage

(02:06:14):
