Speaker 1 (00:03):
It's thirty three degrees in Jacksonville. It's sixteen degrees in Nottingham.
This is TILL Talk, the official Jacksonville Jaguars, UK and
Ireland podcast, presented by Gallagher.

Speaker 2 (00:14):
I'm Jay Lawrence, no relation. Key Ramsurin is here.

Speaker 1 (00:19):
Jason Bell will be breaking down the Jags win against
the Texans and looking forward to the forty nine ers
on Sunday. And we talk to Jags safety Eric Murray,
who joins us from du Var County. Jags now two
and one after a seventeen to ten victory at home
to the Houston Texans.

Speaker 3 (00:37):
Key, feeling very good. It's a big show, almost as
big as your pauses these days.

Speaker 4 (00:43):
Jay, I.

Speaker 3 (00:45):
Loved this game. I think there there are there were
some things that were wrong, some things to be improved on.
But do you know what I noticed? Where did you
watch it? By the way, I watch it at home,
all right, so I'm watching it on a tiny little screen.
So I had to rewatch it this morning before we
recorded this. Yeah, and here's what I noticed. We talk

(01:08):
about complimentary football a lot. We talk about the offense
showing up when the defense don't. We talk about last season,
we talked a lot about special teams showing up right
on Sunday, complimentary football, I'm going to argue didn't happen.
What did happen is that the defense showed up big
time right. The offense struggled, special teams struggled. But here's

(01:29):
the difference for me this season. Last season, no complimentary football,
and we're losing Sunday no complimentary football. Offense struggled, special
team struggled, but we won. We found a way to win,
and that was the big difference. And I thoroughly enjoyed that.

Speaker 2 (01:46):
From the first snap as well.

Speaker 1 (01:48):
Credit goes to Josh Heines Allen in particularly, who was
just absolutely everywhere in that game. And you know, the defense,
It's not just been this game, by the way, key
it's been so far this season has been absolute pleasure
to be able to watch them. And this is my
favorite stat, my favorite SAT stats so far. And bear
in mind that we are only three games into the season,

(02:09):
so this is what makes this stats so incredible in
my opinion.

Speaker 2 (02:12):
Seven interception in three games.

Speaker 3 (02:14):
That's pretty good, yeah altogether, isn't it? In three games?

Speaker 1 (02:18):
Did you know how many interceptions the Jacks had in
the whole of last season.

Speaker 3 (02:21):
I think we've already beaten last seasons, haven't we.

Speaker 1 (02:24):
Six Yeah, six in the whole of last season. Two
in Week three against the Houston Texans as well. So defensively,
I'm going to put it out there and say, it
was really impressive to watch the Houston Texans, to watch
the Jacksonville Jaguars even against Texans. Podcast exactly, Yeah, the
first time when it gets a Texans since twenty seventeen.
Sorry Key, sorry to interrupt, but that is you can't

(02:47):
underestimate the importance of that.

Speaker 3 (02:48):
Do you know what? Last season, I think we would
have found a way to lose this game. So yeah,
I think absolutely fantastic to get that win against the Texans.
To give you my favorites that turn difference, we are
plus five and we are currently number one in the league.

Speaker 1 (03:05):
Yeah, I mean that's big. That's a big change since
last year, isn't it.

Speaker 4 (03:09):
Jay.

Speaker 3 (03:10):
I'm I'm not a body of language expert, as you know.

Speaker 1 (03:13):
No, you were the eternal optimist though, So let's see
what you're about to say.

Speaker 3 (03:17):
So watch look at the defense coming onto the field
and how good and happy they look to be running
on they're sprinting onto that field, they cannot wait to
play and it looks good and I'm enjoying watching that
defense as a unit. I think they look fantastic at
the moment. Yeah, do you know what improvements to be made,

(03:38):
but they're looking fantastic.

Speaker 2 (03:40):
And I really liked Josh Heines Allen and Trevor Lawrence.

Speaker 1 (03:43):
At the end of the game, they were getting interviewed
afterwards and they were talking about, you know, Trevor was
saying the offense basically I'm paraphrasing here, that the offense
basically didn't have its best game and how much he loves,
you know, his brothers, And I think Josh Heines Allen
said the same thing in the defense, and they were
able to step up and make those plays and make
CJ strouder like it was his first game in the

(04:05):
NFL for it for a lot, for a lot of
this game.

Speaker 3 (04:08):
Absolutely, and hopefully you know that the offense must feel
a certain amount of comfort, feeling that they know that
the defense is stepping up at the moment, so they've
got a cushion to be able to sit on and improve,
to be able to get better. And then once that happens,
the jag you as a potential threat here man.

Speaker 1 (04:29):
Well, hopefully, let's hope hopefully absolutely, let's just go through
some you know, offensive mishaps at point as well. I
mean Brian Thomas Junior. He came up big late, which
was of course very important.

Speaker 2 (04:42):
He needed that.

Speaker 4 (04:43):
Really.

Speaker 1 (04:43):
There were some dropped catches, some mixed reactions, but a
forty six yard game that set up ETN to score
in his next play. Credit to toot them as well. Its
first NFL touchdown, which is you know, it would be
something that he remembers forever. Celebration and yeah, you can
tell how much it means to him as well.

Speaker 3 (05:02):
Yeah, And isn't he a lovely height being five foot nine?
I love that.

Speaker 5 (05:07):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (05:07):
To see a lot of Travis Hunter though on offense.
Two targets in this game, the one reception that he
did have for twenty one yards. It was a nice play.
That's the kind of thing that we want to see
from Travis Hunter, that we expect to see from Travis Hunter.
Managing to X to get the Dull duke. Well, it
was it was one hundred percent. It was like I
was playing Madden. It was fantastic. It was great. Parker

(05:30):
Washington with eleven targets, Brenton Strange with seven, Brian Thomas
Junior with six targets as well. It's interesting to see
how this is the targets are sort of been fleshed
out in the offense at the moment.

Speaker 4 (05:40):
King.

Speaker 3 (05:41):
Yeah, I absolutely love to see that Trevor has weapons.
I'd like to see more people catching the ball. I'm
not an x as an O's guy, as you know,
but I do think I don't think it's all on
the receivers. I will put it. I will put it
that way. I think, yea, there are some balls that
should have been catched, but I so think catched. I'm

(06:03):
also not a language expert, but I also think there's
some balls that could have been throwed better. Did you
like that there?

Speaker 1 (06:11):
Yeah, I understand what you're going for there, you know. Overall,
looking back, and this is going to be a game
that probably we won't really think about later on this season,
besides the fact that it was a win against the
Houston Texans.

Speaker 3 (06:25):
But the most fantastic in the throwback jerseys as.

Speaker 1 (06:28):
Well, unbelievable, unbelievable. Those jerseys are like some of the
best in the whole league.

Speaker 2 (06:34):
But the most important thing they had.

Speaker 3 (06:35):
The retro logo on the field as well. That looked awesome.

Speaker 1 (06:39):
Two and one, two and one man relegating the Houston
Texans to zero and three. Who I think it's fair
to say we're probably the favorites in the division, you know,
coming into this season as well.

Speaker 2 (06:49):
So this this division is wide open.

Speaker 1 (06:52):
Looks a little bit bizarre, I think with the Indianapolis
Cults at three and o at the moment, but.

Speaker 2 (06:55):
Is wide open.

Speaker 1 (06:56):
It really gives the Jags a good opportunity to progress
later on this season and you know, in terms of
their play on the field and hopefully you know, contend
and get into the playoffs as well. Forty nine ers
next in California, seven pm UK time Sunday. No Nick
Bosa for the forty nine ers. Will speak a little

(07:16):
bit about this with j bow and a bit as well.
No Nick Bosa for the forty nine ers. Brock Purdy
could return after two successful mac Jones victories under center
as well, So this game this could be a difficult one,
I think for the Jags. But no Nick Bosa, who's
out for this season. I mean, that's already a bit

(07:38):
of a help, really, isn't it. That's huge for the
forty nine ers. Isn't it huge for the Jags in
the next game? Really not having to contend against one
of the best pass rushers in the league.

Speaker 3 (07:46):
So this is what I'm about to say. Like the
way the defense played on Sunday, I think, you know what,
why not? Man? Why not? Yeah? The forty nine ers
look decent, but do you know what Jadd's defense looks decent?
And if the offense makes an improvement, why not. We
are joined by Jason Bell as the usual huge NFL pundit,

(08:07):
huge Jaguars fund Jay Bell. Last week we talked about
the rivalry between the Texans and the Jaguars. You could
see it on the field on Sunday. That was a
physical game, right right up?

Speaker 6 (08:17):
Man, it's a boxing match all week. You're thinking about it.
You know what it's going to be like. That's why
we wanted to watch this game. As a player, you know,
some games are just going to be tougher than others.
And that's exactly what you see in this matchup. And
it will continue. And you saw players step up, you
saw some fall down, but you know what the victory was.

Speaker 5 (08:37):
Harvers, I can't believe I'm saying that.

Speaker 1 (08:40):
Man, Yeah, I was just thinking that. I was thinking it.
I was thinking that, how did the rivalry. Did you
notice the rivalry compared to back in your day?

Speaker 5 (08:48):
Yeah, no, you could see it.

Speaker 6 (08:49):
It's just the tempo of the game, the chippiness, right,
the fights and all that. It's I remember when you
did this to me last time I played, and I'm
coming to get you.

Speaker 5 (08:58):
And that's what you love about it. I mean that's
how it was when I played.

Speaker 6 (09:01):
I would say, oh, the number whatever, I remember he
did this. If I get a shot at him, I'm
going to take it. Then all of a sudden, the
beast starts up again, and that's you know, that's what
it's about.

Speaker 4 (09:10):
Man.

Speaker 6 (09:11):
It's like when you have those practices versus teams in
the summertime, right that day too is the brawl cause
it's like, yo, I'm going to get them back, right,
And that's what you see in these rivalries.

Speaker 5 (09:21):
I love it.

Speaker 1 (09:22):
Okay, Jason, let's do this talking about how the Jags
beat the forty nine ers in a moment. But first
week three, how was the game?

Speaker 2 (09:31):
One?

Speaker 1 (09:32):
Oh?

Speaker 6 (09:32):
It was it was one on defense in the red
zone and with the takeaways and that is where you
evaluate defenses. I call it ben Bedow break. If you
drive down the field, do we tighten up in the
red zone? Do we make it difficult? And they did
that and the turnovers were key and they are great
at this. This is not a coincidence and the reason
why this is working. When I look at this defense,

(09:52):
they're playing a lot of zone and in zone covers,
you got your eyes on the quarterback. So a good
coach teaches you the concepts like this is how they're
attacking you. These are the concepts to look out for
the routes. So you're looking at the quarterback, you're feeling
the concept and you're able to break and make a play.

Speaker 5 (10:07):
And we are seeing that.

Speaker 6 (10:09):
So not only is it the teaching and the discipline
and the fundamentals, but it's the film study, the preparation,
understanding how your opponent is going to attack you encountering
by having your eyes on the quarterback and breaking on
the ball.

Speaker 5 (10:23):
And I love that.

Speaker 2 (10:24):
Well, who was the Jags mvp?

Speaker 5 (10:27):
Oh Man?

Speaker 6 (10:27):
You know, let me tell you something. You know, when
you spend money and it feels good like it feels
good like you spent that bread, you spent the bread
and you feel good like you ate a good meal
or you gave a good gift to somebody you love. Well,
I'm telling you josh heines Allen's he got that bread,
he got that money, and it feels good because he

(10:49):
closed out the game.

Speaker 5 (10:50):
First of all, he had constant pressure throughout the game.

Speaker 6 (10:53):
But I mean that deflection right that led to the
interception coming off the edge. That's what I call a closer.
And you need to have clothes users on defense, and
most of the time they are your defensive ends. Walker
was balling two. But you like josh Heinz Allen coming
through having a great game, money well spent. Anybody that
knows him is always rooting for him, and I'm telling

(11:14):
you he was dominating.

Speaker 1 (11:16):
Well, what was the key moment or the turning point
that we may have missed in this game?

Speaker 6 (11:19):
There was a lot of drops, but I like the
big catch by Brian Thomas Junior right on that game
winning drive. And I like how they adjusted at halftime.
I felt like they slowed down on the pre snap penalties,
which is key, right, you want to do that, and
then they kind of adjusted their zone running style a
little bit, and I like that because Liam Khan goes
back and he goes, Okay, this is how they're playing us.

(11:41):
This how I'm gonnadjust the way I'm calling these plays.
And it looked effective. So those two things I look
at on the bright side with how do you overcome right,
no matter what's happening to you? How do you close
out a game? And they were able to close out
on offense and defense.

Speaker 1 (11:55):
Well, what needs to improve? So the Janks get to
three and one, Well, he just.

Speaker 6 (11:59):
Kind of meant, I mean, I hate to bring the
move down, feltas because we was on such a good high.
We were rolling, it was feeling good.

Speaker 5 (12:07):
But you can't drop that many passes.

Speaker 6 (12:11):
You gotta help Trevor out and he needs to get
more explosive pass plays down the field, especially against this
forty nine Ers team who is going to put you
in a Boa Constrictor type chokehold. If you just want
to throw the ball short, you gotta put the ball
over their head and you got to back them up.

Speaker 5 (12:32):
So that's something they're going to have to work on
this week.

Speaker 6 (12:35):
I really like the fact that they find a way,
even in the way the tackles kind of help they're
using Brentan strange. I like the way they're using him
on the end of the line of scrimmage to help
with the tackles, but then go out on routes.

Speaker 5 (12:47):
I really like that. So I think they're going to
have to tap into that too.

Speaker 2 (12:50):
And how do you beat the forty nine?

Speaker 5 (12:52):
Well, well, well, well it's time to get after mac Jones.

Speaker 6 (12:56):
It's time to get after whoever's that quarterback, right, that's
the key. Get out quarterback. But when you look at
the passing game, you looking at Ricky Piersaw and you're
looking at CMC Christian McCaffrey. You're gonna have to treat
him like a wide receiver number two. I know it
was a running back, but you're gonna have to treat
him like that. And then those all coverages, how do
you keep your eyes on him, both of those players
and take them away.

Speaker 5 (13:15):
That's really going to be the key with stopping that offense.

Speaker 1 (13:19):
All right, Well let's go to our predictions, then, shall we.
Last week we went for a Jacks win. Look at us,
Look at us. It was seventeen ten, he said, twenty
one to three, which is, well, I'm.

Speaker 3 (13:33):
The closestart of all three of us, aren't.

Speaker 1 (13:34):
I I don't know if you're the closest. Jason went
twenty four to twenty one.

Speaker 5 (13:39):
Jeez, I made that up too.

Speaker 1 (13:42):
I went twenty eight twenty So I guess I mean
I'm closer ten ten point differential.

Speaker 2 (13:49):
You're definitely closest. I don't know. I know we're gonna
have a point.

Speaker 3 (13:52):
So Also, I made an extra prediction, and I was
what did BTJ get was a forty six YDD couch?
Because I said he would make a.

Speaker 5 (14:00):
Fit forty six It was four.

Speaker 3 (14:03):
Yards off, four yards off.

Speaker 5 (14:05):
Still crazy for that, bro, because that was you said it.

Speaker 1 (14:08):
Yeah, j this is the competition, Jay Bell, it's.

Speaker 2 (14:12):
We're we're all out for each other. You can't be
friends in.

Speaker 6 (14:15):
This well, I'm gonna tell you this, man, when we're
in the locker room together, we're all friends, baby, and.

Speaker 5 (14:19):
We're on the same side. Yeah.

Speaker 6 (14:20):
So let's just be honest to say we all want
the same thing in life. Okay, It's like, you know,
we all want the same thing, like we want we
want the Jags to ball out when I personally want
Trevor to be the man.

Speaker 5 (14:31):
So I don't know if y'all on the boat with me.

Speaker 1 (14:33):
Okay, So it's a point each. Jason has got three.
Well done to you, j Bell. I've got two. Key
somehow has two as well. Let's do this week's predictions
against the forty nine as j Bell, you're up.

Speaker 6 (14:44):
I'm my first really ow goodness, all right, I'm gonna
keep rolling with this defense. So I'm going twenty four
to twenty one Jacksonville. This defense comes with some good turnovers. Man,
let's make this happen. Let's let's because everybody's going with
saying the forty nine has got the easy schedule. They're
saying this team's gonna be on stop because top because

(15:06):
of their schedule. Well, it's time to break that schedule up.
It's time to look on there and say, oh we
the next one's up.

Speaker 4 (15:12):
It's on us.

Speaker 6 (15:13):
Nah, not today, buddy, not today. You're not gonna little
brother us. And I think it's time to step up.
You got enough people in that locker room, in that
organization that understand that they are going to be overlooked
and they're gonna show up.

Speaker 5 (15:25):
They're gonna shine.

Speaker 6 (15:25):
We're gonna run the ball and take shots vertically down
the field and get turnovers. Wear it counts in the
red zone. I want credit for all that if it happens.
If it doesn't, just forget.

Speaker 2 (15:35):
You don't get any points. You don't get any points
if that happens. We've been through this. We've been through this.

Speaker 3 (15:40):
Key go do you know what Jabell's she taking my
exact prediction. I was gonna go twenty four to twenty
one jigs, So I'm gonna change it. I'm gonna go
twenty four to twenty jigs and I'm gonna go forty
nine us mess a two point conversion.

Speaker 2 (15:55):
Oh well, okay, all right, that's not very crazy. I
think I like it.

Speaker 1 (15:59):
Yeah, and I'm going to just go straight up playing
a seventeen fourteen Jags victory.

Speaker 5 (16:08):
I could see that happening.

Speaker 2 (16:09):
Yeah, that's nice.

Speaker 5 (16:10):
That's what.

Speaker 2 (16:11):
That's what. That's what I'm saying.

Speaker 5 (16:12):
And that's good. You know.

Speaker 1 (16:13):
Do you know I don't go flashy. I just want
the points. I'm interested in the points.

Speaker 3 (16:17):
It's sensible, but not interesting.

Speaker 2 (16:22):
Described it was for my wedding vows.

Speaker 6 (16:23):
Heydon Sanders said it the best. He said, nobody was
talking about Corners. I had to tell him who I was.
You know, sometimes you gotta be flashy. Yeah, that's all
I'm saying, that's some good advice.

Speaker 4 (16:34):
You know.

Speaker 5 (16:35):
I'll make it sparkle. That's it.

Speaker 1 (16:36):
Man, make it sparkle. J Do you know what we'll
leave on that J Bell. Make it sparkle. Man, make
it sparkle too. Coming on, we need help make it sparkle. Key,
make it sparkle. I mean every time that J Bell
comes until Talk, he just makes it sparkle.

Speaker 3 (16:51):
That will be my motto for the rest of this season.

Speaker 1 (16:54):
Make you know what if we we need some sort
of like you know, tagline or whatever whatever.

Speaker 2 (16:58):
For the podcast, it sparkle. Make it sparkle.

Speaker 5 (17:04):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (17:04):
Yeah, that is one hundred percent something that no one
will understand apart from if you listen to this part
of till Talk. All right, let's get on to Duval Dispatches,

Speaker 3 (18:02):
It's an excellent one. It's it's the third time that
those two have sat down for a chat and they're
like mates now. It's a really, really good interview.

Speaker 1 (18:12):
That's welcome, Eric Murray to till Talk.

Speaker 2 (18:14):
How's it going, man, doing well?

Speaker 4 (18:16):
How are you?

Speaker 5 (18:16):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (18:17):
Good?

Speaker 1 (18:17):
Thank you so much for joining us. Look, I want
to talk about, you know, the next game for the Jacks.
I want to touch upon the last one though, against
the Houston Texans. I want to know how it felt
for you victory against your old team.

Speaker 4 (18:29):
I mean it was sweet man.

Speaker 7 (18:31):
You know, anytime you get to beat your former team
in the regular season, you always feel good about that
you know, and it being a divisional on it, it
was a big one.

Speaker 2 (18:40):
Was it weird being on the other side of the
on the other side, Uh?

Speaker 4 (18:44):
Yeah, for sure. It was a couple of times.

Speaker 7 (18:45):
I think in the summertime I was like, I've never
been on this side before.

Speaker 4 (18:50):
I had a bunch of instances like that, But I'm used.

Speaker 5 (18:52):
To it now.

Speaker 1 (18:53):
Does it make victory a little bit sweeter? I suppose
to make a difference, definitely.

Speaker 7 (18:57):
I mean just because I'm familiar with so many guys
over on that side, So just to be able.

Speaker 4 (19:02):
To go against some competitively, it's a good time.

Speaker 1 (19:05):
Well, look, the defense has been on them, you know,
top form over the first few games of the season,
already eclipsing the total number of interceptions for the whole
of last season as well.

Speaker 2 (19:15):
I don't know if you know that stat already. What
do you put that down to?

Speaker 7 (19:19):
Guys just being in the right spot, being opportunistic when
the ball is in the air, and just our commandments
as what we believe as a defense.

Speaker 1 (19:26):
Well, I want to talk about the DC Anthony Anthony
Campanelli as well. This is your tenth season in the NFL. Eric,
you know you'd have dealt with completely different coordinators and
different spots that you've been to.

Speaker 2 (19:40):
What does he bring? Does he bring something fresh to the.

Speaker 7 (19:42):
Table, just as authenticity and his personality. He's passionate about
teaching football and passionate about the game of football. You
find a guy who's able to, you know, inject his
personality into his teachings. It makes the defense much more
oppotent and people start to understand the concepts where they fit.

Speaker 2 (19:59):
How would you describe as personally.

Speaker 4 (20:01):
Real New York Italian.

Speaker 7 (20:05):
New York tertereotypical Italian guy you've seen on TV?

Speaker 4 (20:08):
That's him for sure?

Speaker 3 (20:09):
Really?

Speaker 1 (20:10):
Okay, all right, I'll fed up with his mind. Have
you watched The Sopranos?

Speaker 4 (20:14):
Yeah, I love good show.

Speaker 7 (20:17):
I'm feeling you if you go watch that and then
you have a conversation with him, you're like, okay, I
can see it.

Speaker 1 (20:22):
Okay, Well, look, hopefully I'll be speaking to him in
a few weeks time, and I'll let you know if
I think that's that way. I'm going into this game
against San Francisco. I mean, you're not sure if it's
going to be Mac Jones or brock Puddy, you know
under center. How does that change your preparations for the game.

Speaker 4 (20:39):
I guess one's more mold than the other.

Speaker 7 (20:41):
But the way the offense operates is this very symptomatic, systematic.
Shanahan He's a very system system type guy, So a
lot of the stuff that they do, you know, regardless
of who's the quarterback, you can go back in his
history and see that they've done some of the same things.

Speaker 4 (20:57):
So when you understand that, easier to prepare a little bit.

Speaker 1 (21:01):
Yeah, if you had much history playing against Corls Shanahana,
because you know, he's he's considered one of the best
defensive minds in the league, isn't he.

Speaker 4 (21:09):
Yeah, he is.

Speaker 7 (21:10):
I played him a while back when they were when
Julio Jones was still there and they had Devonte Freeman
and all those guys.

Speaker 2 (21:17):
Oh yeah, okay with the Falcons. Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 7 (21:20):
I got a history with him, and just you know,
so I understand what that tree looks like and how
they want to attack defenses.

Speaker 1 (21:26):
Well, talk to me about Christian McCaffrey as well, because
you know, I speak about some of like you know,
Collins Shanahan being one of the best defensive minds in
the league. You know, you're coming up against one of
the you know, the trickiest running backs. I suppose, someone
that can play in lots of different positions. Talk to
me a little bit about him and how you deal
with him.

Speaker 4 (21:41):
I mean, just his versatility.

Speaker 7 (21:42):
Understanding that like he's gonna they're gonna hand the ball
off to him, and he's going to catch the ball too,
So you know, whenever he's in the backfield, he's never
going to be stationary in the backfield. He's either coming
out making a catch or you know, they're gonna scheme
some ways up for him to get the ball.

Speaker 1 (21:56):
And I mentioned a moment ago as well, the impressed
to start to the defense for the Jags this year.
I've got no doubt that, like like any NFL player,
you are thinking, Okay, here's room for improvements in this way,
you know, in that way?

Speaker 2 (22:11):
What can you share about that?

Speaker 4 (22:14):
Really, just knowing what your job is.

Speaker 7 (22:16):
Like I said before, that's you know, half the battle
of defense is no one are you supposed to fit
regardless of what the offense gives you. And if you
understand your rules and techniques, it's gonna take you to
the bar and it's gonna take you to a lot
of players it.

Speaker 1 (22:31):
Is a Jags atmosphere. What you thought it would be,
you know, joining, joining the team so far?

Speaker 7 (22:36):
Yeah, yeah I haven't. Yeah, I haven't. I didn't have
any expectations coming into it. I mean I play here
every year, so yeah, it was it was about what
I thought it would be.

Speaker 2 (22:47):
Look not long now until you head off to London.

Speaker 1 (22:52):
I did a bit of googling, so you could have
correct me if I'm wrong, But I try to work
this out.

Speaker 2 (22:55):
I don't think you've ever played in London before?

Speaker 4 (22:57):
Is that right? Nope? No, it was my first time.

Speaker 2 (23:00):
Yeah, how do you feel about it?

Speaker 4 (23:02):
I'm excited. I don't know.

Speaker 7 (23:04):
I never played football internationally before. To be able to
do that, I guess I can cross that off my
bucket list.

Speaker 1 (23:11):
So yeah, I'm just wondering what your teammates have told
you about, you know, going over to London and what
to see now what I had.

Speaker 4 (23:17):
To ask him in it a couple of weeks.

Speaker 7 (23:18):
I haven't really been asking him about it, so my
wife probably been more excited about it to me.

Speaker 2 (23:22):
So is she gonna come with you?

Speaker 4 (23:25):
Yeah? She'll come.

Speaker 2 (23:26):
Okay, nice. I mean a lot of people, actually a lot.

Speaker 1 (23:30):
When I spoke to you know, Jags players before, a
lot of them said that like going away it's like
a it's like a mini training camp in a way,
you know, like you know, your head off to a
different location. It's an excuse to sort of, you know,
bond with your teammates. I'm just interested to know from
your perspective, I guess from your experience as well, how
much that bonding, that closeness with your teammates translates onto

(23:55):
the field.

Speaker 4 (23:57):
Definitely translated.

Speaker 7 (23:58):
I think from being in Houston and coming here, it
was a lot more small in terms of like not
in terms of like the city size, but of things
to do.

Speaker 4 (24:08):
So we uh us as DB's.

Speaker 7 (24:11):
And as defense we spend more time together going out
to dinner, and I think that's really fostered our relationship
going forward. So you know, this trip will you know,
be the same thing. Another opportunity to hang out and
you know.

Speaker 1 (24:21):
My what's your favorite your favorite food to go out
to dinner with your teammates in Jacksonville.

Speaker 7 (24:29):
Well, we've been going to a lot of steakhouses. I'm
not really a big guy. I like more and more
so New American.

Speaker 2 (24:34):
That's my kind of dram New American. Yes, what's that.
I don't know what that is.

Speaker 7 (24:41):
It's like, uh, a more upscale take on classic American dishes. Well, they'll,
you know, do a little twist on it, make it
feel a little bit more fancy.

Speaker 2 (24:54):
Well, look, I just want to say thank you for
joining us.

Speaker 1 (24:56):
If it's okay with you, I want to do a
very quick is with you.

Speaker 2 (25:00):
Right at the end of this.

Speaker 1 (25:01):
I want to find out more about Eric Murray. It'll
take about one minute. You game, Yeah, let's do it.

Speaker 2 (25:07):
Okay, let's do it.

Speaker 1 (25:08):
The thing that you enjoy most in the world outside
of football, the video game.

Speaker 2 (25:14):
Oh what do you play right now?

Speaker 4 (25:16):
Taking?

Speaker 7 (25:16):
So I play a lot of Yeah, I'm a man
fighting games and you know, competitive fighting games, so yeah,
mortal combat type stuff like that.

Speaker 1 (25:25):
I mean, I heard you're a big coffee guy, so
once your go to order.

Speaker 4 (25:29):
Yeah, right now.

Speaker 7 (25:30):
At home, I've been making quartatos, so I just been
making playing cortados and.

Speaker 2 (25:34):
I could do cool tato. Favorite film?

Speaker 4 (25:38):
Favorite film? Mmm, The Zodiac. You ever seen it with
Jake Gillihaal Do you know what?

Speaker 2 (25:44):
I haven't seen it?

Speaker 1 (25:45):
And it's been on my like you know, Netflix or
whatever it is prime list, And then I look at
the running time and I can't remem what it is,
but I'm like, it's long, you know, it's like you
know back in the day when I don't know, I
think it's only happened with maybe Godfather too when I
watched it, when.

Speaker 2 (25:59):
I had to what DVDs.

Speaker 1 (26:01):
Like, as I was watching it, it's like it's too
long for one DVD, so I haven't seen on.

Speaker 4 (26:06):
The plane ride.

Speaker 7 (26:07):
I watched Godfather one and two on the plane ride,
so I had to watch.

Speaker 2 (26:11):
A long flight.

Speaker 4 (26:12):
I could really lock in.

Speaker 1 (26:14):
Yeah, don't worry about Godfather three, if I'm gonna say,
and if it, don't worry about just leave that one
song that you listen to right before the game.

Speaker 7 (26:26):
It's a song called Jet Taylor. It's a whiskey Leaver
was on his new album that just came out.

Speaker 2 (26:32):
Is that what gets you pumped?

Speaker 4 (26:33):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (26:34):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (26:35):
A favorite thing to do in Jacksonville.

Speaker 4 (26:38):
Go to the community center and swim with my kids.

Speaker 1 (26:42):
That's a good one thing that you'd most liked, you'd
most like to do on your trip to London.

Speaker 7 (26:49):
I guess what's a big dish for? Like, I guess not.
I don't want to say t that's kind of like stereotypical.

Speaker 2 (26:55):
But you can say tea.

Speaker 1 (26:57):
You can say tea, You'll have an abundance of tea,
an abundancity. And lastly, what do most people not know
about you?

Speaker 7 (27:08):
I probably listen. I listened to a lot of K
pop because my kids listened to it.

Speaker 2 (27:13):
So you've seen K Pop Demon Hunters.

Speaker 4 (27:15):
Of course.

Speaker 7 (27:16):
I watched the movie like three times a day because
my kids want to watch it.

Speaker 2 (27:19):
So I love it. I'm not even gonna lie.

Speaker 1 (27:22):
I mean, you're so catchy, honestly, Like I was like,
I don't know. I mean it's called K Pop Demon Hunters?
How good is this film going to be? And then
I was singing the songs afterwards, So there we go. Eric,
thank you so much for joining us until to.

Speaker 4 (27:35):
Thank you Jay.

Speaker 3 (27:37):
What an excellent chat. I love listening to you chatting.

Speaker 2 (27:40):
With the players, I think, so it's very kind if
you were a very kind of kid. And do you
know what, it's actually brilliant as well?

Speaker 5 (27:45):
Is it?

Speaker 1 (27:45):
Being able to speak to a Jags player every single
week is not only like an amazing thing to do,
but it's amazing to get their insight, especially like a.

Speaker 2 (27:54):
Head of the game.

Speaker 1 (27:55):
You know, each week to be able to talk to it,
and to be able to to be able to talk
to them, and to be able to talk about the
things that you know, hopefully you know, Jags fans here
in the UK, here in Ireland as well want to
hear is great and to talk about of course, the
game that is coming up in a few weeks time
at Wembley Stadium.

Speaker 3 (28:13):
That's the big one, isn't it. That's the big one.
Everyone seems genuinely excited to be coming over to play,
which is fantastic, and.

Speaker 2 (28:20):
Well why wouldn't you be come on, why won't have you?

Speaker 3 (28:23):
Like Liam Cohen's interview on the YouTube channel, how excited
he is to be coming over to play that game
is just that excellent.

Speaker 1 (28:30):
Yeah, his face sort of lit up in a way
that you don't often see, you know, coaches or players
really that much. And you could tell that he wasn't
just saying it. He wasn't just saying it, He genuinely
meant it.

Speaker 3 (28:42):
No, And after the interview, that's the thing that he
talked about was how excited him and his wife are
to be coming over.

Speaker 2 (28:48):
Amazing. Well you can watch that interview, can't you? Right now?

Speaker 1 (28:50):
Over on the Chan's UK YouTube. I'd recommend you going
to do that because, as I say, genuinely was really
hyped to be coming over to London. All right, forty
nine Ers game this week came. Where you're gonna be
watching the game, King.

Speaker 3 (29:03):
I shall be in Margate for it this weekend, watching
it on a small phone, which means I'll probably have
to rewatch it on a bigger two. Watching football on
the phone is tough, man. Have you ever done it?

Speaker 2 (29:15):
I do it like a lot. Yeah, I do it
a lot.

Speaker 1 (29:17):
It's not the best. No, It's much better to get
it on the Telly in it and I love it
when I see pictures of Jags fans like getting together
and watching it on a Sunday evening, you know, just
a bunch of people just you know, at around somebody's
house and just make it a holidays.

Speaker 3 (29:32):
I think there's only three other NFL fans in Margate,
so that's true.

Speaker 1 (29:37):
They don't support the Drags, that's not true. All right,
We're going to be back next week, Jabell, I'll be back.
We're speaking to another player as well. This has been
till talking association with Gallagher, a Shooting Shark production for Jacksonville,
jankus UK and Ireland and as I mentioned, do you
know don't forget Go and search Janku's UK and YouTube
to get to our official channel and make sure you

(29:57):
subscribe to the podcast.

Speaker 2 (29:59):
