Speaker 1 (00:02):
Not a big deal, you know, and just keep that
between us. Now, we're gonna keep that between us. No,
they're gonna keep that between us right now. That's that's it.
Super impressed with our ability to stay the course. You know,

(00:23):
the complimentary football today showed up obviously making plays in
three phases right defensively, was that four straight games with
three turnovers? It is first time ever correct happening? Right,
I think that's the first kit time ever ran for
one hundred and fifty yards, no sacks, had the punter
return for a touchdown, kickoff return that set up points

(00:44):
before the end of the half. You know, that's that's
making plays in three phases that really helped us win
that game. And very proud of the way that these
guys keep competing. It's not clean, but they play their
tails off.

Speaker 2 (00:59):
The takeaways, yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:00):
Four now, how press they're not drop interceptions.

Speaker 1 (01:05):
Yeah, it's it's one of those things that right now
it's coming in bunches, which is awesome, But like I
kind of said to these guys on Saturday morning, it's
not just happening. Like there was a play in practice
on Friday that it was just a run and there
was five or six guys punching at the ball.

Speaker 2 (01:23):
You know, we it's what they're doing every single day.

Speaker 1 (01:26):
It's how they're obviously being coached from those guys that
think Campi and his staff had done a phenomenal job
detailing ball disruption. But these guys are being intentional about it.
The way that they're practicing, the way that they're preaching it,
the way that they're holding each other accountable every day
in practice in order to make sure that that is
getting seen on.

Speaker 2 (01:45):
The practice tape.

Speaker 1 (01:46):
So you know, how long it lasts, I don't know,
but it's it's pretty cool to seear right now.

Speaker 3 (01:52):
You talked about trying to find out who your team
is after a month. Do you have a pretty good
feel at this point.

Speaker 2 (01:57):
Yeah, I think we're tough. I do believe that.

Speaker 1 (02:00):
I think we're a tough team. You know, that's not
an easy team to run the football on, and you
know we we we played our tails off. I thought
we were very balanced in the first half. U in
a lot of ways on offense, you know, miss some
throws in the second half and had a couple you know,
penalties deflate us, but you know, no sacks. Running the

(02:20):
football that way, you know, very proud of those guys
in terms of every.

Speaker 2 (02:25):
Time we compete, I think we have a chance. You know,
through four weeks, I think we have a chance.

Speaker 1 (02:30):
You know, there's not a time in a game where
you're like, man, god, this is getting away from us,
or you know, you don't think even when negative things
start to occur and we stalled on offense in ways
the defense makes it play boom, then the punt return
for a touchdown. It's like, these guys keep having each
other's backs, and I think that's what's pretty cool. After
four weeks. Yeah, I just I don't know what the

(02:55):
exact injury was. I'm sure we'll kind of hit that
once we get that evaluated, but it was something that
it was nagging them a little bit overall.

Speaker 2 (03:04):
Today.

Speaker 3 (03:05):
Did you have to affect you?

Speaker 2 (03:08):
Yeah, a little it did. You know?

Speaker 1 (03:10):
We got down to Rayon lane in the secondary. Uh,
he did a great job of stepping up. Anthony Perkins
and Milo done a nice job coaching those guys to
know what they're doing.

Speaker 2 (03:19):
It's hard when you get down to that. You know
that number in the game.

Speaker 1 (03:22):
In terms of safety, Jack Kaiser playing obviously my terror
Brown Jarion Jones everybody kind of had a hand in this,
but yeah, it was hard. I mean we played Sincy
down to the wire, right physical ball game. You play
Houston down to the wire, physical ball game today obviously
another physical outing. We got to look at our schedule,
you know, as we go this week, to see how
we can take care of these guys. Yeah, it was

(03:47):
just a personal decision that we were going through that
that had to do with a few few kind of
things that we'll keep in house for now.

Speaker 3 (03:53):
Trayvon goes down, and yeah, it's pretty much not pretty much,
but Josh has to really kind of step his game up.

Speaker 2 (03:58):
He did.

Speaker 1 (03:59):
I mean, obviously we weren't getting a ton of heat
on him in terms of but we were disruptive still.
I mean Armstead with the sack fumble, huge moment for him.
Josh played his tail off. Bj Green got some snatch
as a rusher, So we got some guys some reps.

Speaker 2 (04:15):
I thought Smooth played his tail off. I thought Mason
Smith played well.

Speaker 1 (04:18):
So it took an effort out of everybody this week
in order to get the most out of with the
injuries and with some of the guys going down.

Speaker 2 (04:27):
But very proud of the coaches for getting.

Speaker 1 (04:29):
These guys ready to play, especially after that physical game
last week.

Speaker 3 (04:33):
Since that, Brian Thomas has turned a corner a little bit.

Speaker 1 (04:37):
Or I mean, we had a great He was great
all game in terms of his communication with me, dialogue
what he could see, what he was seeing against them.
He kept telling me the quick out was there and
so we kind of kept going to it. That was
based on feedback that we were receiving from Brian caught
the ball well, obviously made some plays and you know,
I was very pleased.

Speaker 2 (04:58):
With BT today to be the guy who calls that. Yeah,
a huge moment. He got the game ball in there,
you know, just made him a game captain.

Speaker 1 (05:08):
It was very important for him coming back here after
you know, a long career here, has a lot of
respect obviously for the coaches over there and the people
and the players, and for him to be able to
come in here and help our team get a win
and a play like that was game changing and had
huge implications.

Speaker 2 (05:26):
That was that was awesome to see for Eric, Yeah, return.

Speaker 3 (05:31):
To just see what what was impressive.

Speaker 1 (05:33):
About I mean, I was I honestly just saw him
make the one guy like where he ended up kind
of cutting, turning like he was coming to our sideline
and then he stuck his foot in the ground and
got vertical. I didn't see. Maybe who made a good
block or not, I'm not sure. I know Quintin Morrise
again played really well on special teams for us. I
think Gardeck did as well. But you know that was

(05:55):
a huge moment, right I thought our return game today
was really popped, obviously with the ko r before the half,
and then the punter returned for a touchdown. So credit
Heath and Luke and those guys for doing a great job.

Speaker 3 (06:09):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (06:10):
Yeah, I mean he's just right now.

Speaker 1 (06:11):
He's he's got a really good feel for what we're
trying to do in the run game. I think, whether
it's in the zone or in the gap stuff, I
just think Travis has a really good feel for what
we're trying to do. He's pressing the line of scrimmage
really well and able to go find creases, and I
think we're I got to believe we played solid upfront.

Speaker 2 (06:32):
I don't know if it was perfect.

Speaker 1 (06:33):
I know we had a couple moving pieces up there
from the old line, but very pleased with Travis right
now in the way that those guys are running.

Speaker 2 (06:40):
I think Chad Morten is the best running back coach
I've ever been around.

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
