Speaker 1 (00:00):
I just to the field to make up most fat
away in the game.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
I mean, make plays like that on most points.

Speaker 3 (00:05):
Uh feel great, man, Uh give all the glory to God,
you know, just just as a defense, you know, you
you emphasize, you know, creating turnovers and uh tryna make
plays on the ball, you know, to score yourself or
give you op your offense opportunity to to put points
on the board.

Speaker 1 (00:22):
For three games, returnovers each something that turn over the
floor right now, I want.

Speaker 3 (00:27):
Like, I know you always said they come in bunches.

Speaker 4 (00:29):
They can't put the finger on, like word, why the
the know, everything.

Speaker 2 (00:32):
Just kind of clicked.

Speaker 5 (00:34):
Man.

Speaker 3 (00:34):
It's just you know, everybody just we just love love
playing with each other out there. Man. Uh we just
having fun playing for one another, you know, not pouring
any fingers, you know, having each other back and trust
that you know, each player on the field's gonna do
they job, and after that it becomes easy just playing
a ball after that. So I think that's really what

(00:56):
it comes down to. You know, ere everybody playing one
player at a time, you know, and and fight to
the end end of the whistle.

Speaker 2 (01:03):
What what do you like about camp? Seeing how you've
been playing three four games. That how you mix his
coverage and so as your fund.

Speaker 3 (01:09):
Oh yeah, like like you said, the versatility of it
being able to you know, uh mix different coverages and
different uh fronts and different stunts. Uh. Just so the
mixed the offense think a little more and you know,
lets us play you know freely and you know, mix
things up. Like he's aggressiveness is that? Oh yeah? They
uh as the defense, That's that's one of the qualities

(01:32):
you wanna have, you know, being aggressive, being funem in
the sound of and uh, you know, playing for one another.
So that's that's what we love for playing for camp
and uh. He brings that energy each and every day.

Speaker 5 (01:44):
He was talking about about.

Speaker 2 (01:45):
The communication on the back end.

Speaker 3 (01:48):
Uh, how much better is.

Speaker 1 (01:49):
It with Jordan and Aaron back there?

Speaker 3 (01:52):
I mean how they impacted that. Yeah. They they they've
come in with a lot of experience, you know in
his league. Uh. I think they're both like around year nine,
year eight. So they bring a bunch of uh experience
and a bunch of knowledge uh to the back end.
And you know, we learning what we can and you know,
working on communication and practice and you know, meeting meeting

(02:16):
a lot and you know, and the reps on the
practice field as well. So I think they that really
played a a a big role, you know's you know,
holding down on communication with not only just the back seven,
but uh the the D line too, you know, knowing
what they they have going on upfront, so you play
a job.

Speaker 4 (02:34):
Should trade on for a while.

Speaker 1 (02:35):
Now, what was the need for a secondary? What they
they have played as well as they happening.

Speaker 3 (02:39):
Uh man, it makes your life easier. Yeah, you know,
it's like, as long as I do my job cover
this receiver for as long as the many seconds I
need to, that is buying them more time to get
to the quarterback. And I know that they they want
to get to the quarterback before he even gets the
ball off. So you know, you know, we always say,
you know working I mean uh uh, Russian coverage always

(03:01):
work together. So I definitely believe that. And you know,
playing with them these past what five years, is you know,
been a joy.

Speaker 1 (03:08):
Plays that have to drop out of the tip on
that lives play, so they being able to kind of
get Kirk and knowing that it's a tip you're allowed
to kind of basically.

Speaker 3 (03:15):
Do union and then oh man, it's it's very pivotal.
Like you said, there was basically Russian coverage working together.
You know, once we've seen the tip you know, tips
and overthrows. You always had gotta get those. So you know, Uh,
Antonio made a hector of a play, you know, sprint
to the ball and make it, make it a great
catch to you know, see it the game off? What
is that? What is a fast and for it?

Speaker 4 (03:36):
And you just get that shirt?

Speaker 3 (03:38):
Yeah you sound attacking, Uh, situation and master and tough.

Speaker 5 (03:43):
You just got a shirt.

Speaker 3 (03:44):
Uh today, No, I've iver had this uh after g
weak one.

Speaker 4 (03:48):
Oh yeah, so Paul and talk about flowering how to
wave and so is that what happened?

Speaker 3 (03:54):
Remember that?

Speaker 4 (03:54):
Guess really?

Speaker 3 (03:56):
Uh yeah, man, just learning how to win and you
finishing We're ca all this is what happened, uh before
you know what I'm saying. Uh, if we we feel
like if if there's time on the clock, you know,
there's a opportunity for us to win the game. And uh,
and that's how we feel, man, Like I said, we
not putting any fingers. We playing for one another and
we always feel like we're in the game and always

(04:18):
have opportunity to to win a game. Oh would you
want it? Do you think ser back a role?

Speaker 4 (04:22):
But is that the kind of game you guys had
trouble winning the last year and a half. And how
satisfying is it to find really get.

Speaker 2 (04:29):
More back then?

Speaker 3 (04:30):
I mean winning in the National Football League it is
is harder within itself. So you know, winning any games
is very important, but especially in the division, it's definitely
you know, games that you that you uh hone in on.
So we we glad we got this win, especially at home,
you know, on our own turf, and uh we just
wanna keep stacking them, learn from the mistakes we made
and and keep pushing and improving. Hoss turge to me

(04:54):
the wrong will man? Uh, you know it's been a
been a heck of a player, you know, as you
guys know, putting in the work day in the day out,
and feel like the the feel for the game is
just only improving as the week goes.

Speaker 2 (05:07):
In the t stats for Tom yeah, Uh, how much
pride you taken? You know you've been active at the line,
scrimmage on s streets, what gets you through the penalty
much pride you.

Speaker 3 (05:15):
Taken up r I take a lot of pride in that, man. Uh,
you know I feel like corners can tackle too. Uh Uh,
it's just uh just being being uh being uh active
on a run and pass game, you know, try to
make my presence felt. It's something I take pride in
and I'm trying to do anything to help my team win. Man.

(05:36):
So you know, if that's you know, put my shoulder
in the offense alignment when you trying to pull on me,
and so I can set the edge so my other
other uh teammates and come in and t make the tackle.
That's what I gotta do.

Speaker 1 (05:48):
So that's what you had a little bit of a
tweak and training camp and everything. But at this point,
are you feeling as healthy as you've ever had since
you been there?

Speaker 3 (05:57):
Yeah? Yeah, I'll feeling good man, feeling healthy. You know
you're gonna have your little Nickson louses from the games,
But now I'm feeling good. Have one good.

Speaker 5 (06:05):
I felt really good, especially just how things have been going,
you know, the last couple of years with them. Uh
felt good to get to win, and now it's just
time to move on and and go forward.

Speaker 1 (06:15):
I think, oh, like a week ago we're talking about
you guys learned how to finish those games in the
fourth quarter. To kind of put in the script a
week later doing how much progress is that shit?

Speaker 5 (06:23):
I mean, it shows a lot of progress, but I
think we left so much out there, and I think
that's that's uh something that's exciting.

Speaker 3 (06:28):
You know.

Speaker 5 (06:29):
We can go out here and and fix those mistakes,
and when you get to win it, it's a better
feeling than having the the loss and then having to
come in and fix it. But obviously, like we have
so much as a offense that we can do better
to help this team. Defense played great all game long,
and we gotta be there to back them up as well.

Speaker 1 (06:46):
When has she bounds up like you, guys, gotta go
what's going for your head there?

Speaker 5 (06:50):
And you look back at that, Nah man, I just
just in the zone doing what I always do. You know, Uh,
not every player is gonna be like that, but when
I get the opportunity to make some people miss, and
that's what I pride myself on, being able to get
the extra yards after the catch, and I think that's
the important thing, is the hitting yard, hitting yardage in
the game and being able to provide that for the
team and keep the ball moving down the field.

Speaker 3 (07:12):
Good team.

Speaker 2 (07:13):
Hight thirteen catches, for three games. Oko at the job
is Leam and the staff doing the drawing up matchups
that you can.

Speaker 3 (07:19):
Take advantage of. I think they're doing a great job,
you know.

Speaker 5 (07:21):
Uh we've been saying that since they've got here, Like
they do a great job of creating the matchups and
uh exploiting things that we wanna exploit within the game.
And it's just about uh being a reliable play maker
for this team. That's all I wanna do. Be a
reliable play maker for this team. My teammates, coaches, s,
the city show everybody, So uh that's all.

Speaker 3 (07:40):
So is it, I guess an unwritten.

Speaker 4 (07:42):
Rule or if there's a fight for the Texans that.

Speaker 3 (07:43):
You're gonna be involved in it?

Speaker 5 (07:46):
Nah, just trying to protect my teammates. Man. At the
end of the day, you know, uh, we don't want
those things to happen on the field. But if that's
what happens, you know you gotta kind of go in
there and you know, uh break things up or however
it goes. But uh, we definitely don't want things like
that to have and you know it kind of sys
a bad, bad example for the youth and everything. So
uh but yeah, if that if that happens, you gotta

(08:08):
go in there and protect your teammates, right.

Speaker 1 (08:10):
Is there a I know the coach is free, she
keep your composure. You Dennis got the the flag. There
could have been a couple more flags, I guess the
referee society. But is there a point where you'd have
to deliver a message to the other team, regardless of
the consequences, that we are not gonna get pushed around.

Speaker 5 (08:28):
Yeah, most definitely. And I think that goes on within
the field of play as well. You know, you always
wanna go out there and impose your will against another team.
That's what football is about, right, Like you going out
there every single play and you wanna impose your will
on another team. You wanna keep hitting them as hard
as you can until they lay down. Cause eventually somebody's
gonna lay down, and we don't want that to be us.
We wanna be the team that's the most violent every
time we step out on the field. So I think

(08:49):
that's a a great thing that we're doing so far,
and we just gotta continue to keep building on that
cause if we do, great things will happen.

Speaker 4 (08:56):
How do you because your if you sue kind of
especially in a run game, like when both treble most
across and then you're going back and when the balls
out great where kind of get a run.

Speaker 5 (09:05):
To start on your black Yeah, I mean, uh, that's
It's something I think that I I'm good at.

Speaker 3 (09:10):
Uh.

Speaker 5 (09:10):
I I pride myself on being a good run blocker
for this team. And uh, it's something I've done for
a long time. So uh it's I very r I'm
very familiar with doing it and the technique of doing it,
and if that's what helps our team win, I'm willing
to do it every play if you ask me to.

Speaker 3 (09:25):
Is really we ever talked about it takes a long
kind of get the offense going because you're still help
you out or everybody is and what.

Speaker 4 (09:33):
You guys you're good at and stuff like That's but
how close do you guys.

Speaker 5 (09:36):
Think you are to really start to get you know,
I think we're just scratching the surface right now. Uh,
I think we're are the the sky's the limit for
this this offense. We have a lot of talented players, uh,
at all levels of our offense, Receivers, offensive line, everywhere, quarterback,
like uh, we have we have a great team and
and I think that we know that, and I think
it's just time to go out here and and show it.

Speaker 3 (09:59):
What do you do about the uh? How you what
do you gotta do? Is it's all that?

Speaker 5 (10:03):
Ah, you don't do nothing about that. Those guys are
talented players. Those guys are here for a reason. Uh,
those guys. God put us out here for a reason.
And things happen every once in a while, you know,
so uh s get on the drugs, you know, get
some extra catches in every single week or whatever it is.

Speaker 3 (10:18):
But we not worried about that at all.

Speaker 5 (10:20):
Those guys are talented, and those guys are proving it,
uh throughout their careers that they are reliable playmakers.

Speaker 3 (10:26):
So we're not worried about that at all.

Speaker 1 (10:28):
You want to run the games?

Speaker 3 (10:29):
Certain half kind of got goody. What does it say
that the league? Who wanna say hit it too that?
You know?

Speaker 5 (10:34):
Especially, I think it just shows his mindset and how
he approaches the game.

Speaker 3 (10:38):
And I like that.

Speaker 5 (10:39):
I think at the end of the day, you gotta
be able to run the ball in order to win games,
especially when it's a tight, close game at the at
the end. So uh uh it shows his mindset and
what he what he wants to do and and I
like that honestly, cause, like I said, football is about.

Speaker 3 (10:54):
Posing your will.

Speaker 5 (10:55):
So uh, when you can when you can get the
ball with a four minute drive or whatever it is
is in the game and you can just run the
ball right down the field and take all the time
off the clock, that just shows what type of football
team you are.

Speaker 2 (11:06):
Does it look like Liam is a first year knows
just not to kind of figure his way.

Speaker 3 (11:11):
Out through all this stuff? He or does he? He know,
especially when you got eight.

Speaker 2 (11:15):
Game situations like you had the last couple of weeks.

Speaker 3 (11:17):
Or has he really really look like a veteran coach?

Speaker 5 (11:20):
Yeah? I mean ever since he's gotten here, he's looking
look like a veteran So uh, I've I've had no
surprise by that at all, just by the way he
handles hisself every single day and he comes in this
building and leads this organization, so uh, no surprise at all.
He he does a great job at what he does
and obviously he got the job for a reason.

Speaker 3 (11:38):
And how fun has it been?

Speaker 2 (11:41):
Classical?

Speaker 4 (11:41):
He's first, you know for a game where you personally
love opening for a little bit, but now that you
have a bigger role in kind of you know.

Speaker 1 (11:48):
Right warming in back.

Speaker 3 (11:50):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (11:50):
Man, that's what all the work has has been for.
You know, I've been working in the dark for a
really long time since I got here. Uh, a lot
of changes I have been going on, uh myself personally
and within this organization. And I just I gave it
to God when I got here. And it's just about
you know, coming in and putting in the working and
giving it to God. So uh, I'm blessed. I'm thankful

(12:12):
to be in this organization, and yeah, appreciate y'all.

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
