Hello everyone, and welcome to the Josie Show. I am
so excited to have Will Wesley joining me to talk
about his brand new single. We also are going to
premiere it here, so we're so thrilled to have the

of course talk about it.

Speaker 6 (01:26):
So here we go. Please welcome to the Josie Show.

Speaker 3 (01:29):
Will Wesley, Hi, Hey, how are we doing out there?

Speaker 6 (01:33):
Oh? Great? How are you?

Speaker 3 (01:35):
I am doing great. It's great to be back on
the show.

Speaker 6 (01:38):
Oh, it's a pleasure to have you.

Speaker 5 (01:39):
I've been looking forward to this because you have a sparkling, new,
nice and shiny new single that released on October third,
titled Bottom of the Bottle, and we are so thrilled
to premiere it right here on the Josie Show, so
everyone stay tuned for that. But I do want to
talk about it before we do play it. So can
you tell us a little bit about the inspiration behind
this new single?

Speaker 1 (02:00):
Oh wow, that is exactly the question I was hoping
you would have Askness. The inspiration behind this single is
actually the song is actually not about me.

Speaker 3 (02:10):
That's the crazy part is.

Speaker 1 (02:12):
The Bottle of the Bottle was written about a one
time band member that I had had.

Speaker 3 (02:16):
And it's a song about watching.

Speaker 1 (02:19):
Him descend into alcoholism due to a struggling relationship that
he was in, you know. And when writing the song,
I actually wanted to kind of go back to a
more vintage rock kind of sound on this one and
really wanted to try to tell the story of this
because I found.

Speaker 3 (02:36):
It to be a very.

Speaker 1 (02:37):
Sad but you know, common story that I see happen
amongst people around the world, you know. So the inspiration
is really not from the life of will Wesley, but
from the life of a good.

Speaker 3 (02:48):
Friend of mine.

Speaker 6 (02:49):
Gotcha.

Speaker 5 (02:50):
I love it because a lot of people are so
afraid to talk about it, right It's a taboo subject
talking about alcoholism, and so I love that you put
this into a song because so many people will be
able to relate to it, you know what I mean,
whether they have a friend, family member, they will understand.
And I love the tone of it. It's such a
great song, and I think you did this one very

(03:10):
very well. So I'm really really excited for you, you know,
and the great publicity you've been getting already from it.
So what do you hope listeners feel or take away
when they hear this song? What's the message that you
would like to give directly to the listener's heart when
they put it on.

Speaker 3 (03:28):
You know, that's a very good question. You know.

Speaker 1 (03:30):
The real message that I was hoping to get conveyed
to the people out there was that you cannot let
obstacles and things of negative nature to hear you from
the road that you're going on. You know, if you
have a dream and you believe in what you're doing,
it doesn't matter what the obstacle is. It could be
a bad relationship, it can be an addiction, it could

(03:52):
be a health issue, but you have to maintain a
positive attitude to try to see that in a brighter day.
And that's really the message of the song. But also honestly,
I honestly wanted to kind of bring people back to
the pre grunge era of rock. I really wanted to
kind of go retro on this one and try to,
you know, kind of throw more of an eighties, early

(04:14):
nineties kind of rock sound at people in twenty twenty five,
just to kind of, hey, this is a different side
of Will Wesley here, you know.

Speaker 3 (04:21):
I wanted to kind of throw.

Speaker 1 (04:22):
Rock at them before it got you know, kind of
grungey in a little bit more somber. I wanted to
throw that on Jovie Guns n' Roses, kind of high
energy sound at people.

Speaker 5 (04:31):
Sure, I think you succeeded in that beautifully. Yes, you're
very welcome. It's such a great song and I hope
everyone does check it out. It is available now on
all of the streaming sites right, I believe it's everywhere now.

Speaker 1 (04:43):
It is worldwide and alive anywhere you get your music
from Spotify, Apple, anywhere down the line.

Speaker 3 (04:49):
Just Will Wesley bottom of the bottle, I'm there.

Speaker 6 (04:51):
Check it out, everyone, please do.

Speaker 5 (04:54):
I'm really really excited about this song and for you,
And I got to ask you, are there any thoughts
on maybe a music video for this one or are
you just looking to really just focus on the lyrics
aspect of things.

Speaker 1 (05:06):
Very good question. There's actually going to be a music video.
I'm rounding up my director again, mister Jordan Fontino. We've
done a lot of videos together. We wanted to split
the time on this song in the sense of the
single in the video, because we've decided, other than a
Christmas single, this is going to be our last single
of the year, and we wanted to give the single

(05:27):
out first.

Speaker 3 (05:28):
We wanted to get the song to the people.

Speaker 1 (05:30):
And then turn around and we're going to have a
very interesting video kind of telling the story of the
video in the music video coming out October twenty fourth.

Speaker 5 (05:40):
October twenty fourth, mark that down, everybody, get those calendars out.
That's so exciting. I'm looking forward to that. I love
a visual, you know what I mean. Yes, I'm so
thrilled that you're going to have that with this song.
So October twenty fourth, make sure you guys mark that
down in your calendar. And I know with songs sometimes,
you know, it could be quick in the writing room.

(06:01):
Sometimes you may have to sit on it for a while.
So for this song, how did this one come about?
Was this a sudden one that you were like, we
got it, or was this something that you had to
really kind of think on, you.

Speaker 3 (06:11):
Know, when this single was actually written.

Speaker 1 (06:13):
It was the first song written from my Ready to
Write collection, But it's one of the last singles to
be released.

Speaker 3 (06:20):
Mainly because you know, most of.

Speaker 1 (06:22):
The collection is more of country rock, but the last
two singles on the collection are going to be going
a little bit more in the rock direction more than country,
and I really was I spent a lot of time
thinking how should we promote this, and then I realized,
you know, we just need to promote it as it is.
We're doing a throwback to vintage rock and roll, and

(06:42):
that's what the next two singles are. And it was
actually the first, being the first song that I wrote
in the collection, it was actually the easier song to write.
It just seemed like the lyrics and the music came
to me within twenty minutes.

Speaker 6 (06:57):
Oh wow, nice. So I love when that happens? Yeah,
me too, Yes, I love I love that. That's wonderful. Well,
like I said, it's a great song.

Speaker 5 (07:05):
It released October third, and we are going to be
premiering it here, so stay tuned into the whole show,
you guys, because you are not gonna want to miss it.
But also, can you please give out your website and
also your social marking site so people can keep up

Will and see what is next. And you did mention
a little teaser that there is gonna be another single
coming out, so we're gonna have to keep a lookout.

Speaker 1 (07:47):
Oh yeah, we're looking at twenty twenty six already. We're
we're gonna be dropping them all year.

Speaker 6 (07:53):
Let's do it. I'm ready. That's wonderful.

Speaker 5 (07:56):
And for those who want to check you out live,
do you have any upcoming performances?

Speaker 6 (07:59):
They can tell us about anything coming up we do.

Speaker 1 (08:02):
We do after we got back from Switzerland just recently.

Speaker 3 (08:06):
We've got some local shows that.

Speaker 1 (08:07):
We're going to be doing, but then we're heading off
to Texas, Oklahoma. We're gonna be doing some shows down there,
and Alabama coming up. We've got a cool little listening
room show called The People's Room and Mobile Alabama coming
out as well. We're also planning on near the end
of the year. We're planning on planning our twenty twenty six.
We're going to be heading to Belgium next year. Nice

(08:29):
back with Switzerland, Germany, the Netherlands, and we're Thailand.

Speaker 3 (08:33):
Even Thailand is on the calendar. It's gonna be a
busy time.

Speaker 6 (08:37):
That's amazing. Is Thailand. First have you ever been there before?

Speaker 1 (08:40):
I have been to Thailand. It's a different place. It's
a different place, very very cool to be.

Speaker 3 (08:46):
There, very cool.

Speaker 1 (08:46):
I'm glad that we've got a good little fan base
over there that's been asking for us to come back,
so I'm gonna make it happen.

Speaker 3 (08:53):
I love it.

Speaker 5 (08:54):
I just find it so fascinating when artists are able
to travel, you know, into different countries and kind of
share their music elsewhere.

Speaker 6 (09:01):
And to see how universal music really is.

Speaker 5 (09:03):
You know, it can touch people, even if maybe necessarily
they don't speak the language.

Speaker 6 (09:07):
Still they can enjoy it just as much as we do,
which I find is just so fascinating.

Speaker 1 (09:12):
You know, I've always found music to be a universal
language people, and if looked at the right way, it
does unite people.

Speaker 3 (09:20):
And it doesn't matter the language, it doesn't matter the style.
It's all about the feeling.

Speaker 6 (09:24):
Exactly, exactly well said. It's true. It's all about that feeling.

Speaker 5 (09:28):
And I do want to say, because we're going to
get to the chance to see you again here coming
soon for the Josie Music Awards. You're nominated again. Oh
my gonna so I'm so excited. Congratulations.

Speaker 1 (09:37):
First of all, I am very excited about the five nominations,
and I'm going to find you somewhere on the rig carpet.

Speaker 3 (09:43):
You will not scape me. I'm coming to find you.

Speaker 6 (09:46):
You got it.

Speaker 1 (09:47):
We're going to talk in person because you're a good
friend of mine and I hadn't seen you in a
little while.

Speaker 5 (09:52):
Right, I understand that, Yes, absolutely, I'll be out there
for sure.

Speaker 6 (09:55):
