Detroit sports bloggers and podcasters Greg Eno and Big Al Beaton are The Knee Jerks!

Time to ring in spring with The Knee Jerks on The Knee Jerks Podcast! There's no guest this week, but there's plenty of Lions and Tigers news to discuss.

Programming note: We're going on a short hiatus, as Big Al will be out of town in early April. The next episode of The Knee Jerks Podcast will be on Tuesday, April 18th. Joining us will be our NBA stats guru, Siddy Hall. On Tuesday, May 2nd, another old friend of the show, Michael Schottey, will join us to talk all things NFL Draft.

This week's topics include:

Detroit Lions' GM Brad Holmes made a huge a splash in free agency, adding several players who will either be immediate starters or major contributors, while retaining important role players.

Did the Lions "disrespect" Jamaal Williams by signing David Montgomery as his replacement or did Williams' agent misread the market for his client's services?

Are the Lions, led by the good vibes and positivity surrounding MCDC (aka Motor City Dan Campbell), suddenly an attractive destination for free agents?

With the NFC North up for grabs and a contention window that appears to be wide open, Holmes has gone all in on filling the Lions' roster holes.

The Lions are not treating this off season like a rebuilding team, but rather as a playoff contending team.

The Detroit Tigers announced top prospect Jackson Jobe is out for at least 3-6 months with (dire sounding) lumbar spine inflammation. Let's welcome Jackson to a rapidly growing group of injured Tigers pitching prospects.

Jobe being sidelined for the season is the final revenge of the previous regime, highlighting the utter folly of Al Avila basing a foundational rebuild around the most volatile and injury prone type of ballplayer - young starting pitchers.

The World Baseball Classic has been tons of fun to watch, and the international players and fan bases are wildly into the WBC, but the majority of US baseball fans just don't care. Not helping the WBC is it being overshadowed by the juggernaut known as the NCAA Tournament and significant, season-altering injuries suffered by the Mets' Edwin Diaz and the Astros' Jose Altuve).

We also play the Birthday Game and name our respective Jerk of the Week!
