Just off the coast of North Carolina, along the outer banks is an area of treacherous waters where the cold Labrador current meets the warm waters of the gulf stream. Strong offshore winds help create a spot for low and high pressure weather systems to collide. Since the 1500s, sailors have been wary of the area, and these waters have earned the nickname graveyard of the Atlantic due to the high number of shipwrecks and countless human lives lost in the region.
It was in these very waters that the Carroll A. Deering was found, with no crew, no lifeboats and no sign of what had happened. This episode covers the mysterious story of the ghost ship, the Carroll Deering.

The answer includes diamond rings, mansions, velvet Elvis paintings, plus a run for the border, murder-for-hire-plots, and FBI busts.
