Just off the coast of San Francisco is a place with a tumultuous history known as the Rock–not to be mistaken for Dwayne "the Rock" Johnson, the actor we all know and love.

Alcatraz Island is home to the former federal Alcatraz Prison, where thousands of the worst criminals the nation had to offer were housed. But the prison's been closed for years, and what remains on the Rock today are its historical buildings and the ghosts of resident’s past.
