Speaker 0 (00:00):
Hey everyone, it's Nathan and we don't have a
full-length episode for youtoday because, well, honestly,
we've just been a little busylaunching Brian and Linda's new
book, as you may have heard, unfolded Lessons in
Transformation from an OrigamiCrane, which is out now.
It's actually been out sinceJune 4th and the response has
been absolutely incredible.
So today we just wanted to takea few moments to share a quick

(00:23):
update about the book and thenalso give you a resource to help
you go deeper with the materialin the book.
Now, if you haven't picked itup already, you can go to
shoobringscom or click the linkin the show notes.
So, first off, unfolded hasbecome a national bestseller on
two major lists.
This is very exciting, asUnfolded hit number one in

(00:45):
business and number five overallon the USA Today list, and it
just landed at number 17 onPublisher's Weekly's list of top
selling hardcover nonfictionbooks.
Wow, I mean to say that we'rethrilled would be an absolute
understatement.
This allegory about a littleorigami crane and her dream to
fly has really resonated withpeople, with leaders, with teams

(01:07):
, with individuals, witheverybody, and Brian and Linda.
They've talked about just howthey feel so humbled by this
response and we're all just soincredibly grateful.
Unfolded is an allegory about anorigami crane named OC.
She's carefully folded andshaped, but she dreams of
becoming a paper plane.
The journey she takes to chasethat dream mirrors the kind of

(01:30):
journey that many of us facewhen we're called to grow, to
change or just to become morefully ourselves.
Here's one of my favoritequotes or lines from the book
what if flying wasn't aboutbecoming something else but
about becoming more of who shealready was?
What if the folds she fearedwere not her limitations but her

(01:50):
map?
Now, you'll have to actuallyread it to get the full meaning
out of this, but I like thisline because I think it sums up
what the book is all about.
Life isn't about escaping whowe are, but it's about
uncovering what's already insideof us, even if we've forgotten
how to see it Now.
The second thing I wanted toshare with you here today is
that there is a great resourcethat goes alongside the book,

(02:12):
and it's totally free.
This companion piece we'vecreated is a free, downloadable
reflection guide to help you oryour team go deeper.
It's full of thoughtfulquestions and prompts based on
the themes of the book.
You reflect on the people andplaces that have shaped you,
your dreams, past, present andfuture.
What kind of playgrounds you'regrowing into right now, which

(02:33):
is something from the book ifyou haven't read it, and what it
might mean to try to practiceand eventually to fly, whatever
that means to you Now, whetheryou're journaling on your own or
using this as a conversationstarter with your team, this
guide is a great tool to helpbring the story of Unfolded into
your real everyday life.
