At 18, he joined the Navy SEALs, one of the most elite military units in the world. Transitioning from military service, he took on ultramarathon races, notably the Badwater 135 in Death Valley. In this 2005 race, Goggins battled extreme fatigue at mile 105. Giving up was imminent, but he refused, pushed himself beyond his limits, and completed the 135-mile challenge in an astounding 19 hours and 45 minutes.
