right, Lisa, Absolutely, Tamra. This is a conversation, not a
dissertation. Yes, no scene byscene breakdowns here. We jump around a

(01:34):
lot, and of course huge spoileralert for everything every show throughout the world
through yesterday's episode. So if you'recool with that, this is the place
for you, and let's jump init, all right, where do you
want to jump in it? Okay? So I have to admit I thought,
okay, so I had to getinspired by others comments for this episode

(02:00):
because I was so bored with it. I literally fell asleep three times.
No it's not and I'm like, what is making me fall asleep? So
I literally watched it again today afterlistening to some other people's comments. So
I'm like, Okay, maybe it'snot that bad, but I just I

(02:23):
don't know. This episode did nothit from me. It felt like piller.
Yeah, I mean, a coupleof things happened, and one of
them was is there's still we've gotthis kid that's on the move that apparently
can just praise zombies away. Iguess you know. The thing I was

(02:45):
thinking is while watching that scene, going back to the Whisperers, because he
wasn't acting human, I guess youshould. I could say, do you
mean in the dream sequence? No, No, when he was there underneath
the in the when he was underthe oh here in the catacombs, Yeah,

(03:09):
Okay, he wasn't. You know, he wasn't screaming, he wasn't
acting irrationally. You know, hewas just kind of standing there. So
we do know that walkers, atleast from the other side of the ocean,
the other side of the pond, you know, if you don't behave

(03:30):
in a human ish way, theydo trying to tend to ignore things that
are just standing there. M So, because that's how a lot of times
the Whisperers dealt with the walkers andhow they got them to move along.
Well, let's not forget and theother shows they were covered in like a

(03:50):
mask or blood or other things thatdeter them and made them blend better.
It wasn't not remember, not Judas, but what's her name? What?
It lost her arm? She justkind of fell in and out with the
Walkers. She did that quite abit. As a matter of fact.

(04:11):
Even over in Fear the Walking Dead, the heroin Attic would do it as
well. Okay, So with Alicia, though, I have to know,
not Alicia, no from the WalkingDead who lost their arm? Tell me
Alpha's daughter. But you know whatshe Okay, I'll give that to you.

(04:36):
But she's an expert on the matter, right, true. I'm just
saying. All I'm saying is iswe do know from Walker behavior that if
a lot of times, as longas you're not calling attention to yourself,
they kind of ignore you. Well, I've come to feel like there are
no solid rules in this world. There is that as well. I feel

(04:56):
like depends on the episode, dependson who it is, depends depends on
the players. Yeah right, youknow, because like I said, we've
had characters that have fallen in andout with the Walkers. You know,
even Macheone. I mean, shehad the two Walkers or with her as
camouflage, but she'd fallen in outwith the Walkers all the time. So

(05:17):
you know, it's not unheard of. I just thought it was kind of
like, Okay, once again, they're trying to establish he's special, you
know. Yeah, And I wonderif it's gonna be one of those things
where literally, like you said, they just ignore him. But I think
not because the other scene when hewas at the Eiffel Tower, and of

(05:40):
course this annoyed me as well.So we see all those walkers or whatever
they call them on the other sideof the man made wall, right,
and of course he gets there, looks at one and oh, here they
come. Right. They were allbehind the wall with no problem. It's
like he was making a lot ofnoise. He wasn't, so he was

(06:03):
doing nothing to me that would makethem push through that wall, right,
So I'm like, the only wasthe only thing they had was that that
eye connection at one point, youknow, when he looked through the little
crack and the other the zombie onthe other side went popped up. Hello.
Yes, but that's it. Imean, he didn't scream or anything,

(06:24):
no, So, but I'm like, was that enough to make all
of them move? I don't know. It just I'm like, okay,
I guess yeah, again, whateverfits the narrow stripped. Yeah, whatever
they want to happen happens. Yeah, and you know so and of course

(06:46):
you know, I'll tell you what. For a minute there, I thought
Darrel got bit when when he wasunderwater. Oh yeah, that wouldn't never
happened though, Yeah, I'm gonnasee it. Yeah, but I mean
because it did actually bite him,but it got his his boot. M

(07:06):
But for just a second there,I thought, oh crap, they can't
have him bit. You know,it'll just be done. But for just
one second there, you know,as he's fighting off the walkers, I
thought, oh see, I thinkhe is safe from a bite until they

(07:27):
are really done with him. Andthey're not going to be done with him
for a very very long time,or unless they come up with a cure
then they'll let then they'll let himget bit by bitten by someone or something.
I mean, he's possible, hecould possibly get bit, as long
as it's it's an extremity because weknow that, you know, amputation can

(07:48):
work. Yeah, they're not doingthat to him who he wants. He
doesn't want to do that every episodenow he's gonna be like no, yeah,
no, thanks, thank you,but I'll pass hard pass, it's
in my contract. No, nolimbs got off. Yeah, no missing
limbs, no horses. Yeah,I mean, I really doubt they do

(08:09):
something like that to this character becauseit really would handicap him in a way.
Oh I know, but like Isaid, for just one second,
because if it was on his anklefoot area, again, amputation would work
in theory. But yeah, foryeah, like they wouldn't. No,
they wouldn't. They wouldn't. Theyneed he's the hero. He comes and

(08:33):
saves everyone, He comes and killspeople, and do you know he's he's
he's doing the hard work, youknow, and he needs all both of
his feet and both of his handsto do it. And I did find
the interaction between him and the nunI don't need a hero. I don't
need a hero. And then inthis episode she's like, well maybe I

(08:54):
kind of need a hero, andwhen they see each other, she gives
him a hug. I'm like,low word, Yeah, okay, they're
besties. Now they're best friends.I don't know if that would be besties
or at least thank god you're alive. It's a little I think it's that,
but I think they genuinely are startingto like each other. I don't

(09:16):
care about each other if nothing else. Yeah, I mean and not surprising.
I mean you tend to you know, how do you make friends?
You basically walk up to a randomstranger and say Hi, I'm in your
life now, I know, butI also know very well and I know
this is real. You can definitelywork with someone and travel with someone and
survive with someone you not like them, right, oh yeah, absolutely,

(09:39):
But that's not what's going on here. You know, I think there is
some genuine affection, maybe not affection, but at least, you know,
camaraderie between the two of them.Yeah, and I did kind of like
how the show when the two nunswere talking do you ever think about men?

(10:03):
You know, I know, theone day she kissed that guy in
the mouth, I'm like, whoo, well and you and I agree with
the statement it was you you wereso young, you never really had you
know, you don't remember a worldbefore you don't you never lived out in
this world. Yeah, she neverknew what else was out there, so
exactly, she never really had achoice, really exactly. You know,

(10:26):
she was left at the monastery andthen that's where she's been since she was
like five or six mm. Andyou know, so her becoming a numb
was probably just well, she's here, you know, She's like, that's
what everyone else is doing. Itseems like the right thing to do.
M You know, I do believe, sure, I'll become a nun.
You know, but now that she'sbeen exposed to the bigger world and boys,

(10:52):
yeah, she's like, ooh he'skind of cute. Yeah, maybe
I'll hang around here. I don'tblame her. I'm like, give for
a moment, you know, shemight not want to be a nun anymore.
Maybe she might, maybe she mightdecide that's not what I want.
Yes, I do want to bea nun. So but I think part
of that scene was there to reallyhit home that, no, she doesn't
have those kinds of feelings towards Darryl. Yeah, and you know, she

(11:20):
doesn't actually have those feelings towards anyoneright now, she really is. She
didn't become a nun because she feltshe had to. She became a nun
because she felt called to it.See. I still feel like anything is
possible, but I definitely feel likenow is the time with Quinn being this
side in her you know, thepin in her side or whatever the thorn

(11:41):
in her side, she will Whatevershe could have developed between her and Darryl
is definitely dead for now because she'sthinking about this fool. She gotta deal
with this guy. Yeah, Sowhatever that was, whatever spark could have
been, has now been doused withwater. Yeah, and I know it
with a Quinn. Yeah, butI'm just saying I'm not gonna count it

(12:03):
out yet. Anything could happen, especially knowing that this is gonna be another
season another unless they kill her.I don't think we're done. Well technically
she has fulfilled her duty. Yeah, I mean she's gotten Lauren out and
she's placed him in in Darryl's care, and she has gone back as a

(12:26):
sacrificial lamb so that they can getout of the you know, out of
the area. Yeah. I don'tknow. She's not done yet. She's
got to get them through and she'sgot to enlist Quinn's helped to do it.
So she's got some manipulating to do. But in the little preview,
I'm like, Okay, she's gotsome kind of box knife or something,
So who is she about to takeout? Who is she about to try

(12:46):
to kill? Well, she evensays, God forgive me. Yeah,
so I mean in that it couldeven be suicide because you know, oh
no, she's not doing that.I'm just saying it's a cardinal sin.
It is. But I think somurders too. I don't think she's gonna
kill herself. I think she reallywill try everything in her body to get

(13:07):
back to her nephew. I don'tthink she would go unless she didn't have
a choice, Like they're about tokill me, I better do something first,
you know. Well, and Quinn'ssort of side piece. You can
tell she's not particularly impressed with thisentire situation that is his like club girlfriend.

(13:31):
H No, she's not the sideShe's the main until oh girl came
back. She's the main. Andthat's why she's looking all leary. She
want Laurent gone by. Yeah,I want you to be a happy family.
Screw you. No, don't comein here and rain on my parade
right now. So well, andshe even knows that Quinn's using doesn't really

(13:52):
care about Laurent. He just wantshim to get the sister or the aunt,
yes, which is very disturbing. He's a very disturbing individual obsessed with
her. I don't know. Iwould kind of like to know a little
bit more about their relationship because hedoesn't. He's obviously doesn't say nice things

(14:15):
about her. No, because whenthey captured one of his henchmen, I
mean she's he said terrible things abouther. I know what kind of person
you are? Oh my god?He so okay, he this man called
her like all kind of a shield, you know. Oh is he called

(14:37):
her hole basically like yellow bag,and he was gonna spit on her.
I was like, oh my god, is he gonna spit on this woman?
And he changed his mind at thelast moment he was going to I'm
like, that is awful. Yeah. So he has been talking trash about
her all around. Anyone who willlisten, he's talking trash about her well,

(14:58):
and the way that this guy's acting, he's been talking trash about her
forever. Yeah. You know,I don't think that this is just from
him seeing her this time around.Yeah, I think this. You know,
he has people are aware of whoshe is because he has some weird

(15:18):
obsession with her. And that's whyQuinn's gonna die Because I think she's gonna
kill him. Because even in thescene where he's like sitting there and as
you say, the child sye pieceis staring at him. She's looking like
she's looking at him like you makeme sick. I feel like that is

(15:39):
what she's looking at him like. And he is just when when Isabel comes
back that stupid grin he had onhis face for a minute, it was
like, really brief, I'm likeyou gross. Yeah. The only way
I'm gonna be satisfied, satisfied withthis is if she kills him, and
I'd be completely okay with it.And you do your hail Marys and you're

(16:00):
forgiven. I don't know. Ithink there are two women in that room
that both want him dead right now. They might gang up to do it.
They might. I wouldn't hate it. I wouldn't hate it. I
mean I wouldn't mind, you know, the club girlfriend getting the club m
Yeah, they can't create an alliance. He's dead. Yep, let's work

(16:22):
together. I mean, it's gonnaworry about what's her face? Well,
the thing, the thing of itis is she's already established that she can
wheel and deal, because she wheelsand deals to get them different things all
the time. And you know whenshe came up and said, oh,
we've got troubles, and she mentionedsomething else as well, you know,

(16:44):
acquisitions that they could get, andshe was really upset. Nick Quent only
asked for that, was it amone? A yeah, and she's like,
you could have gotten so much more, and then she realizes, oh,
oh gotcha. So that way,you know, he can say, well,
you didn't pay top dollar. Youknow, I get to keep the

(17:07):
kid. And honestly, as longas he gets what's her name that they
I don't think he cares about Lauren. I mean I could even see him
turning him over if he didn't thinkthat he would be enough of a hold
to keep Astely, absolutely, Icould see him doing that. He couldn't
care about that kid at all.No, and Lauren candy, and I

(17:30):
think he looking at him can tellm. You know, the conversation they
had. They're sitting there while eatingthe candy, the stale candyful. Yeah,
well stale candies better than no candy. Yeah, I'll take no candy.
Yeah, you might have laced itwith something exactly, but yeah,

(17:52):
I mean you could even see,you know, he's looking at it at
Quint just going now, you're no, whenever trade that kid he would give
away Labron to them to keep Isabellehere. Take him, just leave her
exactly. You know, as longas he's a useful pawn, he'll keep
him around. But I think that'skind of how he feels about anybody,

(18:15):
as long as they are useful.Right now, Yeah, then he's got
a you know, then he's gota place for him. But the minute
that they lose their value for whateverreason, they're probably gone. I've got
to know, They've got to tellme why he is so infatuated with her.
Yeah, and that's what I'm sayingthat I kind of I do kind

(18:37):
of wish they would give us alittle more backstory. You know, we
know that he saved her from suicide, we know that he's taken quote unquote
taken care of her, but wereally don't know the why of it.
Yeah, even after all these years. Yeah, I mean this is obsession

(19:00):
level because it's been fifteen years mmmsomething. I mean that is a long
I mean, it's not like hedidn't move on, you know, club
girlfriend, right but the minute shewalked in, he's like, Yeah,
that's it. All the rest ofyou can go this she is it.
He's like Anna, who Anna?Who what, I don't need you anymore.

(19:23):
Step aside, my girlfriend has arrived. Well, even the fact that
she's a dud now in no waydeterred him. No, he doesn't care.
He's like, oh whatever, Andhe asked, I mean he did
ask her, you know, didare you serious about your vows? And
she's like, I'm absolutely serious aboutmy vows. You know. Oh,

(19:44):
okay, never mind, don't care, Come on over. Man. Kind
of he's the worst. He reallyis. That's why I say it again.
He's gonna die. Oh, I'msure he is. I mean,
because he's not. He's not abig bad No, he's not anything like
that. He's a a minor obstructionMM. But he has en up poll

(20:07):
that he's worthwhile keeping alive right nowso that Darryl and Laurent can get out.
M. What do you think aboutJanet saying that Labron is like false
hope. He represents false hope kindathere with her. I mean, in

(20:33):
some ways they're treating him as asecond coming. And in some ways,
as you know this, you knowit John John Connor kind of personality.
M. And that's kind of it'skind of almost how they have you know,
for anyone that watches Terminator, youknow, that whole cult that grows
up around John Connor. Yeah,it's that that. You know, it's

(20:57):
not necessarily that he's superhuman, buthis birth was foretold, you know,
because of dime travel. Not thatthey're gonna do that here, but you
know, but it's that same kindof feel to it. And they don't
expect him to perform miracles. Really, they just expect him to let his

(21:22):
light shine to to delight up thedarkness, essentially, I think, is
what they're still know why they thinkthat of him? Why, I don't
know. It's it's almost like there'sa problem. I'm wondering if there's some
prophecies somewhere. I mean, there'salways some prophecy somewhere. Oh, did
you know that we missed apparently anotherapocalypse about two weeks ago. I had

(21:45):
no idea apparently survived it. Yeah, there's some cults somewhere that said that
the world was supposed to end twoweeks ago. Oh well, so miss
easy one? Yeah easy. Youknow, one of these days, I'm
just gonna go outside and put likeshoes and make it look like, you
know, it was raptured up orsomething. God, you are so funny.

(22:08):
I swear. I'm just saying, you know, convince all my neighbors
to do the same. Actually, that would make an excellent Halloween thing for
your street. Just everyone just gotclose outside shoes and round. Yeah,
you know, just are these crumpled, you know, shoes and outfits as
if you were raptured up. It'smess. But like I said, there's

(22:30):
always someone somewhere that has a prophecyof some kind. You know, I'm
there. They are in abundance,right, So I don't I don't know.
I don't know if there is somekind of prophecy or if it's just
they've decided. Because every one ofthese groups, I mean they believe in

(22:52):
him, I know, and Idon't know why. Like, do they
think he's just going to be aleader and that's it? Do they think
that, you know, oh,this kid's all spoken? I mean,
what is it? Is it becausehe was born of a woman who turned
Is that it? Yeah? Becauseif it's if it's that, you know,

(23:14):
I was watching these two dudes onYouTube and they made an excellent point,
like they're probably several lots of womenwho were in the throes of birth
at least a couple. Yeah, they died and someone yanked the baby out
or whatever. You know, itprobably has happened, yeah, a lot
of time, So I mean,it can't happened, you know, even
since you know, after the apocalypse, because it's not like we don't have

(23:40):
pregnant women, right, so it'snot that it can't be that, right,
And they're not trying to say he'simmune. No one has said that.
They've tried to, like imply it, saddly, but no one said,
oh he got bit or blah blahblah. No one knows. That's
not a fact. So they're justsaying he's gonna lead us because of his

(24:00):
great personality. Oh you know, that's personality. But like a thirteen year
old, like a normal tween.Yeah, I mean again, he's very
very smart. But then again, you put almost any child in a situation
where they have round the clock, sorry, round the clock tutors and you

(24:22):
know, in every you know, being the sole pupil, of course they're
going to be smart because they're justbabies learn, children learn, and with
that kind of setup, almost anychild can thrive. And let's not forget
it's not like they had a classof students to compare him against. Yeah,

(24:45):
they only had him, right,And I mean obviously this was some
kind of a teaching school because theone girl was there and her parents didn't
come pick her up. But beingsaid again, you know, you if
you have every none, every priest, you know, and in a full

(25:06):
library and your whole life is aboutlearning and education and everything else, Yeah,
one on one tutorship and you getyou know, you get a really
good education. That is so stupid. What are they telling all of these
people to make them agree? Idon't like, I've got to know what

(25:26):
is the juice? What are yousaying to them? And even if they
meet him, once they meet him, they're they're in absolute agreement. Absolutely
this child he's it. So there'slike, this is who we've heard so
much about. It's him. It'snot even like they've asked him to prove
it or you know, they've askedfor proof. They're just taking it off

(25:48):
of faith. If this is thekid we've heard about, Yay, we're
protecting him. This is him,Like that's it. They're just accepting it.
Case closed, And I mean andstaunchly defending. You don't understand he's
our hope. You know. Yeah, I gotta tell you, with that
baby crying, did you think shewas gonna do something to that baby?

(26:11):
I was absolutely sure before the endof that scene, She's gonna snap that
baby's neck. I know, I'mlike, what is she gonna do?
Like, don't let her hold thatbaby. Oh you can see the look
out of the mother's face. Shewas absolutely terrified. Yeah, so it
didn't happen, but I was.I was convinced there for you know,
that whole scene, Oh, sheis gonna snap that baby's neck. She

(26:36):
we don't, but she seemed likethe kind of person who would do something
like that. Oh yeah, youknow as soon as you know, if
she had it up on her youknow, was starting to place it on
her shoulder, has had her handaround his neck, like this is it,
this is it. I'm We didn'tand but we never go back to
them after that. We have noidea And we don't go back to that

(26:57):
group either. I mean because onesaround on the street are not the ones
that were inside the building. Nothey're not. Yeah, so we have
no idea. Mm. Yeah, that was crazy. Another kind of crazy
part to me was the whole pigeonguy I'm like, oh my gosh.

(27:18):
So he's trying to help him byputting the bike to the side and pulling
him behind to hide, and hecomes out trying to please give me my
pigeons. You know, don't eatthe birds. Don't eat the birds.
I'm like, okay, dude, you want to die for four pigeons or

(27:40):
five pigeons? Like that just seemscompletely acidine. I guess again another,
do I really believe someone would dothat? No, you know, I've
seen people die for their pets.I mean, we've all seen stories of
you know, man jumps in,you know, into raging river after dog

(28:03):
kind of thing, and you know, or dives into hold to save whatever,
and you know, dies in theattempt. So I mean, they're
birds. But you I mean, for the first time we've met him,
we obviously he obviously loves these things. He has a lot, He had
a lot of them. They weregoing back and forth at will. How

(28:23):
did he even know they were thesame birds because they're homing or because they
always come home. Well, Iguess now he dived for them. Yep.
I hope it was worth it.Probably not, which was crazy.
So of course Daryl comes out andhe you know, takes other guys out,

(28:44):
which is fine, but why didn'the take their weapons? Strange to
me, I'm like, why wouldhe take their weapons? The only thing
he you know, he had hisboa thing, and that's how you're gonna
kill the old man, you know, it was kind of implied. But

(29:07):
he does have his knife still.Well, yeah, they tried to make
us think of that. That's howhe was gonna smash his head. I'm
like, come on, where doesthe knife go? Easy on him?
You you did all this for him, don't have don't smack that thing into
his head? Yeah, I know, Oh god, I couldn't know.
We'll see. There's there is alot of implying going on, Yes,

(29:34):
there is, you know, likeagain the baby, the baby might be
a lot might be dead. Youknow, how did Darrell kill this man?
Uh? You know, is Laurent'sspecial or not? They leave a
lot in ambiguity. Yes, AndI don't love it. I don't love

(29:56):
it. I'm still so. Cranasaid earlier that she hears as season five
is the next one to look out. I mean, episode five, We're
not that far ahead. Episode fiveis the next one to kind of keep
your eyes peeled for the supposed tobe good. I'm hoping that's trial because

(30:17):
this one I had so many problemswith it. Even after I went back
and rewatched some of it, I'mlike, this is not the business for
me. It just wasn't. I'vekind of noticed this pattern of they're like
using one episode to set up anotherepisode. So we have one that's just

(30:37):
set up, the next one isaction, set up, action, set
up, action. Yeah, Idon't mind. See that's the thing though,
Lisa. I don't mind set upbecause it's required to the story.
But I think just something about thisjust was so I feel like there's a

(30:59):
way to pace the plot and preparefor big things while still not seeming staggering,
because I feel like a whole lotof nothing happened, Like things happened
but nothing happened. Does that makesense, Like things happened, but none
of it mattered to me? Yeah? Not really. I mean again,

(31:21):
there was a little more set upon, you know. So now we
know that Janine is that her name, Jane Janee? Yeah, it has
now put a price on Lauren's headas well as Darryl. And we know

(31:41):
that what's her name is sacrificing herselffor Lauren to go back to, you
know, the man that's absolutely asa obsessed with her. We know that
our girlfriend or club girlfriend is nothappy. No, and yeah that's about

(32:04):
it. Yeah. Oh wait. The one scene that I did find pretty
interesting was when Darrow was telling thisstory about this pig screaming and this guy
stabbing the pig, you know, and I'm like, oh my god,
this really has villainous vibes, likehe's really like trying to put on this

(32:27):
show. Oh yeah, like heis putting his full effort into this,
and I'm like, okay, heis. How far is he gonna go?
How far is he gonna pound thisguy if he doesn't give up the
information? I really do wonder howfar he would go. But the guy
gave up the information only after acouple of stabs, A couple a couple

(32:50):
of stabs, and then at theend, you know, Isabel's like,
oh are you that boy? Didthat happen to you? He's like,
I made that ship up? Yeah, now has made it up? I'm
my lord. Well, you knowhe's an American, you know, and
well, while he's saying this story, I'm like, this guy's English is

(33:12):
supposedly really bad if he even speaksEnglish at all, because he really barely
spoke any like who's who is thestory for? He can barely understand you.
I think the moral of the storyhere, I don't think it was
actually as much the whole story.I think this guy knows enough English to
be dangerous. But more I thinkit was his It was Darryl's delivery of

(33:37):
it. You know, he neverhe wasn't excited. He wasn't excitable.
I mean he was. He wassharing a story and dealing out violence without
without it being personal, and Ithink that was I think it was more
about his tone and and and cadencefor this guy. I don't think have

(34:02):
we ever seen him like perform likethat? Like as would give me another
example of when Darryl acted like that. I'm trying to think. I was
trying to think, have I seenhim do that before? He's done it
when kids have been involved. Letme think which which bad guy was it.

(34:29):
I think it was the governor. It wasn't the Governor himself, but
it was one of his people.I also know he did. He did
something similar with the Nigan's guys too. Yeah, because that was highly performative,
and I'm like, you don't.We don't see that very often obviously
because I can't even PenPoint when he'sdone that to where it stood out to

(34:52):
me like this one did? Ithink part it was a lot of it
A lot of times. It's partof its off camera. There's the I
went and did the thing, youknow. Mmmm. But him and Carol
have both are both known for doingwhat needs to be done. Look at

(35:15):
the flowers. Oh no, solow key though, Like even when she's
performing quote unquote, it's not loudand flagrant, right, it's quiet.
Well, and even this, Imean it was this wasn't a loud performance.
He was just telling a story verycalmly. You know. It wasn't

(35:37):
yelling, He wasn't screaming. Wasn'teven making a threat to this guy.
Honestly, the whole time, hewasn't. He never he that was a
threat to me. He's about thispig gets stabbed and then he comes to
stabs him. That's a pretty bigthreat. Yeah. But what I'm saying
is he's he didn't direct any ofthis, you know, other than the
stabb the stabbing, But there wasn'tI'm going to hurt you, or you're

(36:01):
the pig, or you see whereI'm going at. None of that.
He was just telling a story ofbeing threatening. I mean it's effective.
It was especially after he actually stabbedhim that was effective. And then he
left him in the top and thedunnel bone oppetite like, oh mg wt

(36:27):
F. I was like, ohwow, okay, that's what we're doing.
I mean, it's not that Ithink of it is is It's not
that Darryl has always been warm andfuzzy. He's never I mean, he
has his moments with certain particular peoplehe can be softer, but Darryl is

(36:47):
not known for his soft and fuzzyways. It's very gruff. You know.
I don't think of him like Idon't would not associate him with warm
and fuzzy at all. He's verygruff. He's very quiet, he doesn't
like he seems like he only talkswhen he has to. He's not a

(37:09):
spotlight kind of person. No,And just that moment felt kind of like
just very different from Darryl to me. It's because in that moment he really
was in the spotlight where he nothe is normally not he took charge of
the situation because he really, Imean, he let the nun take care

(37:30):
of it for a long time, you know, let her speak with him,
try and get as much information andall this talking, let's get to
it. Well, and she wasjust like, he's not going to talk.
This is yeah, you know, this is all I know. And
you're like, I have another handto play, let's do this. Yeah,
I get it. I just yeah, I'm curious to see if we'll

(37:52):
see more of that type of behavior. And it was interesting because she never
wants tried to stop him. No, of course, not because she wants
to know where her nephew is.Yeah, but I mean, and she
didn't even really look particularly shocked. No, No, she just kind of
went, Okay, this is whatwe're doing now. That's the thing about

(38:14):
her character is she can't She hada hard knock life, as they say,
right, she had that. Sojust because she's been a nun for
the last decade or whatever doesn't meanshe hasn't seen her share of violence,
right, and that she forgot it, you know, and that she was
willing to deal it out as herselfas well. Yeah, even after becoming

(38:37):
a nun. Yeah, you gottado what you gotta do, right,
But I mean she did give Darryla little more praising look hmm interesting.
So it was boy you hell no, no, I know. I think
she was trying to put some drawsome connected dots with him. And he's

(38:59):
like, no, it was evenmede. Yeah, don't go trying to
shrink me, lady. Yeah,it's not gonna work. It was an
effective storyline. What can I say? Yeah, it kind of you just
come up with that stuff on topof your head. I'm telling you,
I don't know. I mean,it's it's not to say that there're maybe
something something from his childhood, maybesome story or something, you know.

(39:22):
Mmmmm. But and it did didsound like something that would happen in his
childhood. Yeah, it does, doesn't it mm So, and it's possible
that again, not exactly that scenario, but you know, enough to draw
a decent story from. M M. Yeah. And I do like those

(39:45):
other characters too, we should, you know, just talk about them for
a minute. You know those forgotthat guy's name, the black guy who
kind of is the head of thatone little m M yeah section. I
like those people, like they steppedup and they're like, let's help,
let's get in there. He gavehis little pep talk. Yeah, I'm
like, oh, you know,I like them. I hope we see
a little bit more of them.We go in as one, we come

(40:06):
back as one. Yes, I'mlike, okay, I like it.
Well, it's it's it's it isa stark contrast to a lot of the
other communities that we've encountered over theyears in this universe. There's there's no
dark underbelly to them, at leastas far as we've been shown so far.
I mean, they're actually just reallydecent people trying to look out for

(40:30):
each other and carve out this existencewithin this decaying world. Yeah, so
it's kind of this nice novelty.Honestly, a lot of them, I
mean, if you think about it, I mean, even the group of
orphans you know at the at thedaycare center, we're you know, we're

(40:52):
kind of kind of like that too. We're all in this together. It's
all of us against all of them. So yeah, and then and then
we have the bad guys that areit's all for me and screwl you see.
I think that is what I likeabout this season, is that,
you know, as they're traveling andthey're coming across these these groups of people

(41:15):
that also believe that Lauren is thesavior. That these are above board groups.
You know, it's not like youhave to worry about like them flipping
the switch as soon as they getin there and their prisoners now or something.
It's very clear who's the good sideand who's the bad side. Well,
even the kids, I mean thatthey weren't unscheduled stop, but I

(41:39):
mean it was good to see thatsome of these little pocket groups are running
into not everyone, you know, everyone outside of the their little click there
is bad, right, So evengroups outside of lawrence support system. You
know, they're not necessarily bad.I mean, there are bad people there,

(42:00):
but not And I kind of likethe fact that we have some you
know, variances are bad. SoLawrence's father, he's a bad guy,
but he's he's not bad. He'sjust creepy. He's creepy bad. Yeah,

(42:22):
he's creepy. He's like the neighborhooddrug dealer. Bad. Yeah,
I mean not necessarily like he's donebad things. He's killed people, he's
brought people and threatened people, youknow, but he's not going to take
out a whole race of people, exactly. He's not going to mow down
a whole community right now. He'llgive up a whole community if it'll save

(42:44):
his butt, but he's not goingto mow them down. So it's kind
of nice to see these that they'rethere's the different levels, you know this,
you know, the guy with thezombie orchestra's crazy. There's nothing to
fair. He was just nuts, you know, m M. And I

(43:05):
mean, and we do have badguys, we do, but you know,
again, there's the there's the differentlevels to them, and I kind
of like that. Yeah, yeah, I guess so that it does have
some things working for it this season, right, there's a lot of good
things that going on this season,And I guess this was just a blip
for me. That last scene whenthey got on the boat and they're leaving

(43:30):
M. I thought that was soeerie to like see the Eiffel Tower like
that and like it making those noises. Oh my god, the Lament so
creepy. Yours is lament yea, they call it so creepy. And then
they saw the Statue of Liberty replicamlike, oh wow, yep, that

(43:55):
was the one that they modeled oursoff of you know, and in the
different you know, all the littledifferent touches of ancient civiliz you know,
ancient civilization that it's been there, you know, France and Europe, it's
been there for a long time. And you know, America is a newborn

(44:17):
babe compared to the rest of thisYeah. Still yeah, and always will
be. Yeah. So yeah,it was. It was interesting for him
because and I've heard people say this, even even with all the decay is
as you know, as they're showingParis, Paris are still fairly spectacular.

(44:37):
Mm hm. You know, ithas its all inspiring moments and and and
I would have to agree because eventhough it's it's a it's a dying city,
it's still pretty cool. Paris isbeautiful. It is you could tell
it's old, you know, it'sthere's no hiding it. It's old,

(44:59):
but it's still gorgeou you know. And you know, anyone that goes now,
Paris looks amazing now versus five yearsago. Because they are cleaning that
mug up for the Olympics. Theyhave the Olympics next year. Apparently they
have a huge bedbug problem right nowand they're trying to drastically fight them off

(45:19):
before the Olympics. I don't know. I didn't they're trying to well,
they're cleaning up everything. The bedbugs, they moved the homeless out. They're
trying to get They are really tryingto change what that city looks like in
time for the Olympics. They cleanedout the sign river like they have it
doesn't even smell. That river smellsso freaking bad, but it doesn't smell

(45:43):
now because they cleaned it up.Hey, you know, I guess there's
some good things. I personally, when it comes to the Olympics, I
think we should just pick a locationthat has good summer, good winter,
you know locale, and we justpermanently build a city there and then you
know, the off seasons, Olympianscould come in and train, and you
know, people like you and mecan go in and do stupid stuff and

(46:07):
here we're down the slopes or whatever. I don't know. I kind of
wouldn't mind. I don't want togo in one of their racing kebabs,
but you know, give me anice rubber uh inflatable and send me down
one of those shoes. I'll dothat. If you sign a wafer for

(46:30):
your life. Yeah, well sure, put me. Oh, put me
in one of those really plastic youknow, the bubble balls. There we
go. Oh that's fun. Sendme down the shooting that. That would
be awesome. That's a lot safer, I think, Yeah, it's fine.
That would be a good time rightthere. I don't know whatever it

(46:52):
is is. They're getting that place. It's nice and getting sparkly, that
old place. So anyway, soyeah, I mean it's overall. I
mean I did. I didn't fallasleep. I did too. No,
I said I didn't fall asleep.I will say what I was. I

(47:12):
mean, I wasn't. I wasdistracted, but it wasn't because of the
show. Is because I have newbornpuppies and they're horrible. They're all over
the place. But yes, Ihad to keep stopping and that maybe maybe
that was because I didn't just sitand watch it all the way through.
I had to stop, like everyfifteen minutes, pause it, and go
collect up the puppies. Again, please get out from there. You're gonna

(47:35):
get stepped on, and then putback away. So I kind of watched
it in these chunks. Now thatyou say that, that is another part
that thing about this show that Ithink is making it a little bit harder
to watch than all the other showsis because they have this French scattered throughout
the episode. You can't look away, Like you can't even reach for your

(47:59):
phone or run out the room rightquick, because you need to be able
to run, look and see andread the words yeah so. And here's
the thing, because by default,we have we keep on the closed captioning,
uh for various reasons. And Ihave discovered that I have to turn
off the closed captioning when I watchthis because it'll say speaking in French over

(48:22):
with the French translation m h.And I'm like, I wanted to say
so, and I forget because, like I said, otherwise, it's on
default. It's just the close captioningis on. Yeah and so yeah.
Like this this is a little frustrating. What did they say? I mean,

(48:44):
honestly, I am a good personfor multitasking while I'm watching TV,
but I cannot do it with thisshow at all. It's so I can't
even try because I might need toread at any given moment. So if
you look away, because I've hadthat happened like you a couple of times
where I've looked away to pick somethingup, or my phone notified me as

(49:06):
something, or I heard a puppycry, you know, and I hit
rewind, and I had to hitrewind because I realized, I've they said
something in French and I don't knowwhat it was, and it could be
nothing or it could be important.Right, and then you went into something
right. It was like, Idon't know, this is not a show

(49:27):
I could ever watch live. Icould never do it right if I could
pause or and rewind as needed.I've thought about that a lot here lately,
because you know, as a kid, it was you watched it and
if you missed it, you missedit. There was no pause or it
was no rewind. You know youduring commercials, you know you ran for
the bathroom or the snacks or whatever, and you're doing that Olympic sprint at

(49:52):
the end, come on, comeback, come on starting, And you
know I don't miss those days. And I mean, life is so distracting
right now that if we didn't havethe ability to pause live TV, we'd
miss most of it, I know, and sometimes, honestly, and this

(50:13):
is bad, I know, Ireally would like to just turn off my
brain and watch something but between allthe different things I have going on,
I'll literally just start thinking of somethingthat I have to do or something,
you know, making a list likeand then I'm like, oh, stop,
I missed like the last minute anda half of what they were saying.

(50:35):
That's why I can't do audio booksbecause if I if I have an
audiobook on, about ten minutes outof the audio book, I'm like,
man, I need eggs. Ohand I need to take the trash out,
you know, I mean, Andthen I got this whole list going,
and then I realized it's been goingon for a half hour and I
had no idea what's going on inthe book anymore. And then an audio

(50:58):
books even worse trying to go backand find your place it is. But
you know, though this doesn't happentoo often with me with TV because I'm
watching, but that tells me thatI am not engaged at all when it's
easy for me to do that,Like it's not usually that easy, but
it was for this show. Iwas waking up, rewinding, mind drifting,

(51:22):
rewinding. It was a whole messtrying to watch this episode. Like
I said, I mean, Ididn't fall asleep, but I then again,
I didn't watch it straight straight allthe way through either, so and
I did have to rewind several timesbecause I knew I missed something. But
I don't like that my little ground, and I didn't do that with Beer,

(51:45):
even when it was at its worst. I wasn't really falling asleep on
it. So I don't know. We'll have to see. I hope episode
five is a lot more entertaining forme, well, because up until this
episode, I've haven't had any seriouscomplaints, you know, I've I've I
think it's it's better than you know, Fear has been for seasons, you

(52:09):
know. And I'm still enjoying thismore than Dead City. Yeah, I
am too, So there's that anyway. So I guess no perfect sixth streak
for me, No six episode streakfor me. No, it's okay.
It doesn't happen very often, youknow. Yeah, but it's okay.

(52:30):
Mmm. I mean if if everyepisode up until now had been awful,
they'd be one thing. Mm,but a one off okay, acceptable,
it happens. So let's see.Is there anything else we should cover in
this episode? Do you think?I don't think so. I think we
pretty much covered it all yeah,I think so too. Yeah, all

(52:55):
right, so I guess we're gonnaend things there. If you are still
listening, think for listening to theentire episode. We appreciate you for doing
that. Don't forget to subscribe whereveryou're listening. Like the episode, and
please share it with other TWD fans. Until next time, take care of
yourselves. See you guys next week. Oh baye
