Speaker 2 (01:27):
Oh, absolutely, Tamra. This is a conversation, not a dissertation.

Speaker 1 (01:31):
Exactly, no scene by scene breakdowns here, we jump around
and of course huge spoiler alert for everything in the world.

Speaker 2 (01:38):
Through yesterday's episode.

Speaker 1 (01:39):
If you're cool with that, this is the place for you,
and we should just jump right on in. Okay, Lisa,
that never gets old listening to us talk.

Speaker 2 (01:49):
It never gets old. Okay, what'd you think of the episode? Okay?
I had several giggles throughout this entire episode. I enjoined it. Okay,
I liked it too.

Speaker 1 (02:02):
It was a good another good one, a good another
solid entry into the season.

Speaker 2 (02:07):
I was impressed. You know, m h, good stuff. But
I w don't know what my One of my favorite
moments is sure is when Daryl looks at Carol's trait
in the eye and goes, what they need is a
good liar and luckily we have one of those. Look.

Speaker 1 (02:23):
Look, they definitely do have one of those. She is
chef's kiss at lying, so no problem.

Speaker 2 (02:33):
You know, she kind of looked at I'm like, I
can't argue, but I want to, you know. Yeah, that
was a good one liner.

Speaker 1 (02:43):
There was another one at the end where Carol tells
the captain that she's like a horny old lady.

Speaker 2 (02:50):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (02:52):
I'm like, okay, yeah, she's like no one ever usually
calls me a lady.

Speaker 2 (02:56):
I'm like, okay, all those words are said, but they're
not as nice. Yeah, yeah, Like alrighty.

Speaker 1 (03:02):
Then. Yeah, they had a couple of good, you know,
one liners in here, which I enjoyed add some levity
to all the things going on.

Speaker 2 (03:10):
H Yeah, I just that, just that one with Carol,
because you and I have discussed that the Carol has
been a consummate liar and has been a chameleon for
them in the past. Yeah, and uh, and she's very
good at it. M M. So yeah when when that, uh,
when he said that, I'm just like, yeah, yeah, no,

(03:31):
no lies detected here exactly. That is the whole truth.
And that's funny.

Speaker 1 (03:36):
I love that though. But you know, let her do it.
Oh yeah, yeah, m okay, so let's see. This episode
was actually the title made sense to me for once.

Speaker 2 (03:49):
Yeah. Oh, there was a lot going on here.

Speaker 1 (03:53):
I loved honestly, I really liked that when they kind
of split up the team. I think I've said that
in other episodes before, when we see kind of like
two different storylines going side by side. I really enjoy
those episodes the most when they're not together all the time.

Speaker 2 (04:10):
I mean, and again, I really do like Daryl and
Carroll together, but it's good to see each of them
kind of shine in their own way. And yeah, so
because they don't have to be attached at the hip.

Speaker 1 (04:23):
No, they do not, and they are not in this episode.
But we do pick up exactly where we left off,
which I also like. I liked that there was no
time you know, skip or whatever. We just kind of
pick up and we see what happened, which was good,
which is what I was concerned about last episode.

Speaker 2 (04:42):
But we got to see. Yeah, so we you know,
we found out that yes, he did find her, and
then they found him and you know, quickly quickly. Yes,
it didn't take them long. I mean, honestly, I can't
really say that I'm shocked about that because they were
in the woods. There was there's not there's not they're

(05:04):
in a truck, there's not. There's not many directions left
or right that they could have gone right. So yeah,
I mean it was not a well thought out plan, No,
not at all.

Speaker 1 (05:15):
If they caught him, they dragged just in it back
and they decided to hang him for some afternoon fun. Yes, like,
let's just hang him from this bridge and let the
walkers get him fun times.

Speaker 2 (05:30):
What the heck? Well, they were betting on how you know,
on the whole thing too, so you know you're having
a good time with it.

Speaker 1 (05:36):
Yeah, how many times can I hit this rope with
this knife before he drops?

Speaker 2 (05:41):
You know, like yeah two times? Yeah, that was crazy.

Speaker 1 (05:47):
But he almost he almost got got just in the
nick of the time. You know, we show up and
he saved. But he looks like he's been worked over
pretty good.

Speaker 2 (05:56):
Oh yeah, yeah, he's he's not in good shape.

Speaker 1 (05:59):
No, yeah, And of course they immediately since he's who
he is and he got beat up and almost killed,
he's like immediately down. For the rest of the episode,
they're trying to heal him and all the things. So
actually that worked out really perfectly for the dual storytelling.

Speaker 2 (06:22):
If they can't heal him, they can at least get him.

Speaker 1 (06:24):
Drunk if he can wake up to drink. I mean,
he's knocked out, seems like he's unconscious, So.

Speaker 2 (06:31):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (06:31):
I don't think I saw him awake outside once they
got him back to that room.

Speaker 2 (06:35):
Was he awake? Did I miss it? He was cut,
not really lucid. He was kind of floating in and
out of consciousness, but not to the point where he
could really talk or anything. Mm hmm.

Speaker 1 (06:50):
No, the captain came to see him and yeah, he
looked well, I guess he needs to sleep it off.
Although the lady was saying the healer lady, who was
also just you knows what great answer, she's kind of saying, Oh,
he's in between places or something.

Speaker 2 (07:11):
Well, no, I mean, well, wait a minute. No, that
would probably be her her grandmother, because that's their siblings,
her parents, and her uncles. It's her uncle's mother, so yeah, yeah,
that would be your grandmother. Mm hm. So I don't know.

Speaker 1 (07:29):
They seem to say that he wants to go and
and wants to stay, so he's kind of in limbo himself.

Speaker 2 (07:37):
And she not so nice either.

Speaker 1 (07:39):
No, that woman mean, like, what is she up to?
She come and wrap them out? Immediately I found this.

Speaker 2 (07:48):
How did he get it? I'm like, dang, girl, I mean,
look at that face. Look at the face.

Speaker 1 (07:54):
She is not happy at all. She's very like, I
don't believe them. How could you believe them? You're an idiot?
Basically she's not looking happy at all.

Speaker 2 (08:02):
Yeah, that's the cross you know, school master right there?
You know where you got in trouble.

Speaker 1 (08:10):
Yeah, that was interesting, So I did like, although I
do think that this story kind of came in second
to the stuff that Daryl was doing because he came
into contact with some very interesting people, oh yeah on
this episode, and I think, yeah, that was very wild.
When I first saw those people, I'm like, what is
going on with them? That was so different than anything

(08:34):
we've seen before.

Speaker 2 (08:35):
Well, as soon as they showed up and I'm looking like, dude,
do they have leoparsy? Yeah? Yeah they do? They do.

Speaker 1 (08:45):
Yeah, And at first I'm like, what is I didn't
recognize it as leoparsy. At first, I'm like, did they
put stuff on their face? Because they're in the desert.
I'm like, what is happening.

Speaker 2 (08:54):
What is that? That's cool. You were able to identify
it though, and they did, they even when they were
talking about it. Uh they were because the English not good.
It seemed to be that there was some kind of
a battle or something. And I'm wondering if someone let

(09:18):
loose the virus to give them leprosy, because leprosy is
pretty much extinguished at this point. Well you know what happens,
you know, give vaccines for a long time. There's that too,
but but yeah, because leprosy's kind is transmitted by touch, yeah,

(09:40):
and it's got to be sustained, you know, long term.
But uh yeah, the way he was talking about it,
it seemed like he was indicating that there had been
some kind of a fight between groups. And it could
be very wrong on that, but because his English was
not good, but that seemed to be what he was
trying to convince. Yeah, I would agree with that.

Speaker 1 (10:03):
Before Darryl spots this man, he's kind of like dozen
like kind of just daydreaming, half sleep, half awake. You know,
he seems he's thinking about his childhood again. And I'm
still wondering, like what that payoff is gonna be? What
are we gonna see what is that full scene? When
we see it? Like, what are they trying to show us?

Speaker 2 (10:26):
Nothing good? Yeah? I mean this was this was a
traumatic event. Whatever happened, it was a traumatic event mm hmm.
And it was his older brother telling him to run, right,
so you know we can assume it was his dad probably.

Speaker 1 (10:47):
Yeah, it's gonna be something ridiculous with you know, a
parent acting inappropriate obviously, But what happens in that moment
that's affecting what he's dealing with now, you know what
I'm saying, Like, how does it? So?

Speaker 2 (11:00):
I hope they make it make sense?

Speaker 1 (11:02):
It's all when they do show us the scene, like
how does this affecting him now? And what about revealing
this is going to make him move forward as a character.
You know, I would like something to become a VET
that's worthwhile.

Speaker 2 (11:18):
Otherwise, why are you wasting our time with it?

Speaker 1 (11:20):
You know?

Speaker 2 (11:20):
Right? I mean it can't just be him running away
and no payoff. There needs to be something there. Mm hmm.
I agree.

Speaker 1 (11:29):
So, yeah, he hears this guy I forgot his name,
and he brings him to Aqua and he goes and
I'm like, dang, Daryl, you graedy try to drink all
your water.

Speaker 2 (11:43):
Well, I say it, he's thirsty. Yeah, and I don't
think he understood that that was all their water.

Speaker 1 (11:48):
Yeah, until the leader, I want to say she might. Well,
I think the old man is the leader and other
girls like the helper or something. Yeah, it seems like
she was following his lead a little bit. But until
she said, hey, this is it, dude, don't be drinking
all our water, he did calm down, but he was
very uh more more. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (12:09):
Well, and I get it because I mean he's been
out there wandering around the desert for oh at least
a day at least, so I guess he didn't get
his canteen or anything off the bike before he took off.

Speaker 1 (12:24):
Well, when he gave the water, when he first was
out there and he saw that man with no eyes,
and I said, okay, dude, don't talk to strangers.

Speaker 2 (12:34):
Stop.

Speaker 1 (12:34):
Don't talk to strangers, don't even stop. And I felt bad,
like for saying don't even stop, but it felt creepy
and weird.

Speaker 2 (12:42):
And then when he gives the man his cantanna, I'm like,
you gonna let him drink out of your stuff?

Speaker 1 (12:48):
And I'm like, he's gonna drink it all because he's
been out there and he damn near tried, so he
yanks it back. Oh my goodness, gracious.

Speaker 2 (12:56):
I will say I was kind of surprised. I didn't
realize there was a desert in Spain. Me neither. And
it looks like it's pretty big, you know. Yeah, and
they did film it on locations, so you know, I
was listening to the director. They're like, we were really
pleased to find out they had a desert here. So

(13:18):
I had no clue. I was.

Speaker 1 (13:20):
That was a surprise to me, so Mike, but that
looked kind of cool. It was great for the scenes.
I think it definitely was, you know, like that one.
I think producer said it was like kind of mad
Max feeling. I will co sign on that. I do
think that was feeling like that.

Speaker 2 (13:37):
And they were really leading into that that spaghetti western feel,
which I know because you've never watched them, don't, But
I mean I saw it with the the jacket he's wearing,
the scenes that they're having, the even the dialogue, a
lot of it is is very and in some there's
a couple of stances that like Darryl takes that was

(14:02):
very Clint Eastwood from these spaghetti westerns. Oh yeah, yeah, hmm.
I mean you could have you could have put the
shots side by side and went.

Speaker 1 (14:10):
Oh look, you know, okay, wow. Is that intentional? Huh yeah,
very intentional.

Speaker 2 (14:17):
And now now again I haven't seen these, you know,
and I probably miss things because I I I saw
them a lot, but I saw them as a child
and I haven't really watched them as an adult. But
I recognized I'm like, why, yeah, okay, I remember. You know,
it's spark memory. So for anyone that watches them that

(14:37):
it was probably you know, about as obvious as a
slap in the face. Oh my gosh. Well, I know.

Speaker 1 (14:43):
My grandmother used to watch those every time, and it's
just like a memory for me, hearing like you talk
about them every time. I would go into her room
when we got to her house, I'm like, hey, granny,
what you watching?

Speaker 2 (14:53):
Oh my god, not this?

Speaker 1 (14:55):
Okay, I'm gonna go to the kitchen and grab something eat, bye, I.

Speaker 2 (15:00):
Sit down and watch this. No, it's awful.

Speaker 1 (15:02):
It's on that I think it used to be called AMC,
I think, or Turner Network TMC. There we go TMC.
I'm like, what is this she watching? This oh stuff.

Speaker 2 (15:13):
Yep, okay, but see I remember watching them. It would
have been well for us like w k l RP
or something like that, or KLRP or something out of
Saint Louis and uh, you know, well before you know,
a long long time ago. M hm. As a matter
of fact, I remember my dad taking me to one

(15:34):
of these movies at a drive in. Oh. Wow, so
that's cool, I'm all. But but yeah, these were I mean,
they're very popular movies and and so yeah, I am
kind of, in a weird way, kind of enjoying that.
I didn't really like the movies as a kid, but

(15:55):
it's just kind of neat, you know, to see this
that it take place here. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (16:01):
Yeah, I wonder why they decided to go this route,
Like I don't know if did they talk about that
early on somewhere, Like why they went with this vibe
for this season.

Speaker 2 (16:12):
I don't know. I mean, again, like all the spaghetti Westerns,
they came out of Spain, which was part of the
reason they were called spaghetti Westerns.

Speaker 1 (16:24):
But so maybe it's as simple as that, Hey, we're
going to Spain, so let's do something that it's you know,
was rooted there. Let's do a spaghetti western and it
could be as simple as that.

Speaker 2 (16:37):
And you know so, and I think I think the
the feel of it, the landscape, the you know, it
was just very it was there and and really in
a lot of ways, Daryl's and I had noticed this
even before this. Darreld's characters some in some ways does

(16:57):
kind of remind me of those of the heroes, you know,
the the lone gunman that walks into the town, you know,
dusty and wearing the sharp serape. And I had noticed
that a long time ago, that a lot of those
cliches were there with this character. Anyway. Okay, so my

(17:19):
guess is they just went, you know, we were already
halfway there, so why not? Yeah, yeah, if that makes sense. Hmmm,
what else should we talk about? Oh, I guess we can.

Speaker 1 (17:34):
Yes, yes, that train and he spots the train while
he's out there, and that of course people see him
and they're like, I want that bike, so that, you
know causes all this. But that train, that is very smart.
Whoever thought let's have these dead pull.

Speaker 2 (17:54):
The train for us?

Speaker 1 (17:56):
I could I mean that the skill that it would
have taken to get them all chained up in just
the right formation and then lock them down so they
can't run after the horse in the front, the horse
and guy in the front. That was really smart. I'm like, wow,
look at that.

Speaker 2 (18:14):
I have noticed that here in Spain they've been they
they've been using the walkers in unusual ways or creative ways,
you know, for defense for pulling the train, more so
than we've seen them really do before. M hm ah.

(18:34):
Although I will say this, they probably could have taken
a few hints from uh my brain just stopped when
she walked around with the two walkers her brother from Michelle,
you know, by by taking their their jaws out, you know,

(18:55):
that probably wouldn't have hurt. But then again, for I
think they were all to looking at the walkers' defense too.
Mm hmm.

Speaker 1 (19:05):
Yeah, they definitely are defense well from one side anyway,
m hmm. I don't know the back is exposed, but sure,
I guess yeah, I can see that.

Speaker 2 (19:16):
Well. The way they're they look like they're more chained
in rows, so someone if they stopped, the walkers could
have moved behind to the back of the train too,
mm hmm, you know, down to the sides and stuff.
So mm hmm. Okay, so I'm gonna tell you my
other favorite moment, okay, was on this train. Yeah, so
we got Darryl. He's breaking in, you know, he's killed

(19:39):
all these people. They're in there, all the walkers now
are trying to get on the train, and him and
the bad guy, you know, they they hit each other
back to back and they look at each other like Okay,
they continue to kill the walkers, and then when they're
all gone, they look you know, they're like they're like,
let's take a break. Yeah, just five minutes. You know,
they both just kind of stop and I just need

(20:01):
a couple of seconds. A couple of seconds. Yeah, you know,
this just moment of agreement that we're gonna take five
and then we're gonna continue to pound each other's face in. Yeah,
you know. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (20:13):
Again, the comedy like they had several of those moments,
and that was kind of funny.

Speaker 2 (20:18):
I just I had a giggle over that quite a bit,
you know, because because, yeah, this was a serious fight.
Darryl has just you know, broken in and wiped out
his people, and it's just like, give me five minutes. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (20:32):
So you know, it's not lost on me that Daryl
ended up killing that guy. By drowning him in that
dirty bath water, because I'm like, this guy took their
water and he's taken baths. I'm like, this fool taken
baths in the water like it's plentiful.

Speaker 2 (20:49):
I'm like, how ugh. Oh yeah, yeah I did have
I did have one moment of irritation over the whole
water thing. What is it at the end, when they
get the train, they turn that spickt on, They're just
letting water go everywhere. It's so precious. I thought they're

(21:11):
doing that same thing.

Speaker 1 (21:13):
I said, they're just letting the water hit the ground.

Speaker 2 (21:16):
Isn't that much?

Speaker 1 (21:18):
Yeah, I thought that same thing. They're all back there
slowly putting their canisters and things under there.

Speaker 2 (21:23):
And the water is just being wasted. Like yes, yeah,
that doesn't make sense now, I guess because they the
the cisterns filled by like water or rain and stuff
like that. So in theory, once they get their water back,
it will they will get more as they use it.

(21:45):
But again, I still wouldn't have wasted it considering they're
in the desert.

Speaker 1 (21:52):
Yeah, exactly. That seemed like a bad choice. I guess
they were just so excited to have the water back.

Speaker 2 (21:59):
They want thinking, yeah, I guess so too, But I
would have I had been there, I would not have
allowed that.

Speaker 1 (22:06):
Oh No, that was crazy talk, especially like the leader
to calm yourselves down.

Speaker 2 (22:12):
This is water. Honestly, when I saw the bathtub full
of water, I'm like, no, Darrell, don't don't try to
the water. Why'd you say don't dry?

Speaker 1 (22:20):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (22:21):
Because you thought they could use that water. They could
have used used it for like the plants or something. No,
I'm not saying drink it. I'm saying they could have
used it to irrigate the plant plants. What plants are
the dead? That's growing things, I guess. I mean they
have to be eating something, and they had They did
have those little you know, pots and stuff, so I

(22:42):
assume they're growing.

Speaker 1 (22:43):
Look like oat meal or something like some kind of
meal based something or another. I'm like, it looks like
slop almost you know the rule yes, cruel. Yeah, like
what was that? I'm like, what are they eating? Nothing
with any bite to it? It looks like yeah, yeah,

(23:03):
that's unfortunate for them.

Speaker 2 (23:04):
Like where's the real food.

Speaker 1 (23:05):
I guess they don't get any out there, so that
eat as lizard or something. Well, you know, Lola's out there,
so yeah, I'd capture her and cook her. Lola made
it show. Yeah, that's so crazy. He was feeding that
freaking lizard eyeballs. Yeah, what's up with that? So you

(23:29):
literally are maiming people to feature lizard eyeballs.

Speaker 2 (23:34):
Which means the guy that we found in the desert
had contributed to Lola's diet. Yes, he did that, poor guy.

Speaker 1 (23:42):
Yeah, like you can't see, you don't have no water.
And if only he knew his eyeballs went for a
lizard's dinner, right, So I mean, and I.

Speaker 2 (23:54):
Mean they do eat meat, per se, but I mean
maybe just as happy with spiders or crazy gets erd,
you know, things of that nature.

Speaker 1 (24:04):
Or how about cut off someone's like I don't know,
pinky finger, No one needs that. I that's better than
your eyeballs.

Speaker 2 (24:11):
I mean, my god, I mean, I'm you.

Speaker 1 (24:14):
Know, I'm just saying you gotta cut something off of somebody, like,
come on, leave them with their eyes.

Speaker 2 (24:20):
I don't know. That's just very cruel. Yes, well, particularly
since apparently he was just maybe them for their eyes
and then tossing them out. Mm hmm. You know, I mean,
that's that's a whole new level of just douchey.

Speaker 1 (24:37):
Yeah he should have just like, why leave that guy
out there like dying of thirst in the desert. Just
kill him and put them him with the walkers and
then take his eye or take his eyes and then
put them with the walkers. I don't know, it seems
very cruel to do someone like that if you're gonna kill, like,
just kill them, Like, why would you do that? Let
them die slowly in the desert.

Speaker 2 (25:00):
I don't know. Cruelty is the point, I guess.

Speaker 1 (25:05):
I guess it must be because there's no other reason.
Why would you Why wouldn't you add them to your little,
you know, trove of walkers. They're pulling the the two
uh cabooses or whatever they call what are those called? Uh?

Speaker 2 (25:19):
I had it? Well, the kabooz is the end? Yeah,
train cars, cars, thank you?

Speaker 1 (25:24):
I'm like, what the heck? I guess here, I am
trying to think in how not to let people suffer,
just take them out and be done with it.

Speaker 2 (25:33):
I'm well, And I think part of it might just
be psychological, because if he takes people's eyes and then
just tosses him into the desert, they're gonna you know,
there's a chance, like he ran that guy raining too, Darryl,
that they'll run into other people and serve as a warning.

Speaker 1 (25:50):
Yeah, a warning that someone's out here taking eyes.

Speaker 2 (25:54):
I guess a fear. Oh well, Daryl's like whatever, dude,
give my water bag.

Speaker 1 (26:01):
Yeah, oh yeah. I did like the scene where I
guess he had his first interaction with those the guys
riding the bikes, and didn't it kind of feel like
a little bit of jousting but on bikes with us, Yes.

Speaker 2 (26:23):
Yeah, little mad Max, a little you know, jousting on bikes. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (26:26):
Yeah, I'm like, let in the world's going on. But
those scenes are really good, I.

Speaker 2 (26:30):
Think, Yeah, and go Darryl. You know, he has that
whole shotgun action down, uh, you know, the whole twirl
and reload. Very cool.

Speaker 1 (26:43):
Actually, I liked these kind of scenes more than like
those big, blowing up, you know, fireball scenes from the
other episode. I feel like these were better to me.
The other ones were big and loud, but I feel like,
I don't know, I just like them better.

Speaker 2 (27:03):
Oh, you can keep track of what's going on easier,
you know, It's it's a little more intimate. I guess,
I don't know. That's probably not quite.

Speaker 1 (27:11):
The right word, but you know, yeah, every interaction here,
even though again it was Darryl being superman and doing
everything and taking out all the people, but I still
enjoyed it better than just a lot of people just fighting.

Speaker 2 (27:25):
And you can't yeah, I don't know, you could follow
it better there. You know, it's very straightforward. There's not
as much chaos and and there's not like a dozen
things happening all over the place. Is I mean, they
split into two groups. But that being said, you know,
it was easy enough to keep track of things.

Speaker 1 (27:46):
Yeah, and heck, he even had the people of that
town fighting. He tried his best to communicate how what
they needed to do, and he they were successful in
getting that through to you know, the whole group. It
was probably also because of what's that girl's name, was
it Amaya or I don't know something. Oh no, I'm

(28:08):
bad with people we see one time, but you know,
she helped them understand what they need to do, and
they did fight. When he brought those people, they followed
him back. They were really smart with it, pulling the
things and people were tripping and falling off the bikes.
And then a couple of four shots to the head. Well,
the last one wasn't the headshot, but the whole part

(28:28):
I think was really good to me. And then the
little girl counting the number of bullets he had. Yeah,
those yep mm hmm, that whole part. I loved it.

Speaker 2 (28:38):
I really did. It was very good to me. I
dare say this was the best episode so far to me.
I did. Like I said, I really liked it. There
was some great one liners. There were these you know,
beautiful moments like againing time out time out, Yeah, in
the middle of a fight. Yeah. But yeah, and it

(29:01):
was good to see. It was interesting to see the
two of them, you know, being you know, Darryl and
Carroll being split up, and and Carol making the offer,
you know, you could come back with us. You know.
He sure did tell him. And you know, Ohio might
be nice. Uh he changed the subject. Yeah, I'm still

(29:26):
trying to wrap my head around Ohio because I don't
I mean, I guess I had it firmly planted in
my head that they were more East Coast and Ohio
is not.

Speaker 1 (29:41):
No, I think, well, I know, I thought they were
more East Coast as well, but I don't know if
that's just because of the other show in it being
in New York and proximity of where you know, Baggy
and them were, maybe we just assumed it was more east.

Speaker 2 (29:58):
Well, I mean, I guess because Alexandria isn't far from
I mean, they were like within a day's walk of
the ocean. There was ocean side and hilltime. Yeah. But oh,
Commonwealth is in Ohio. Okay, thanks Karina. And that's what
I was. I mean, I was like, well, I guess
the Commonwealth could be there. I just didn't think they

(30:20):
had gone that farm because I mean it's I mean,
that's a bit of a track, and I know they've
mentioned it several times. I'm just like, I don't know,
because I guess I thought the Commonwealth was more like,
I don't know, Kentucky. Maybe I don't know.

Speaker 1 (30:42):
I didn't really know, honestly. I kind of was just
I don't think I even thought about it.

Speaker 4 (30:49):
Nah, that makes sense.

Speaker 1 (30:52):
They don't go either way to tell us where they are,
so it's kind of like, I don't know. Either you
pick up on the nuance or you just figure it
out because you're in all the fans stuff, or I
don't think they ever just say I don't remember them saying.

Speaker 2 (31:08):
Yeah, I don't really remember them saying during the show,
And like I said, I know it's been mentioned a
couple of times. I mean because Daryl mentioned it last season.
You know, you can come back to Ohio with me, right,
And when he first time he said that, I'm like,
why would you be going to Ohio? Do you got
another family there? But what's going on in Ohio? You know?
And then it dawned on me that's where the.

Speaker 1 (31:29):
Co Yeah, that's that's where everyone is. Yeah, we're all
thinking the same thing, like Ohio, Ohio.

Speaker 2 (31:37):
Yeah, well maybe just us because I don't know, we
missed this somehow, And I guess that would make more
sense on why the train would be important. Mm hmmm,
because you know, going from Ohio to the East Coast
is you know, problematic. Yeah hmmm.

Speaker 1 (32:01):
So okay, So I know you had either last episode
or the episode before you had thought that maybe Antonio
would leave with Roberto or not Roberto, you said, Justina
and they would leave with Carol and Daryl. Are you
still thinking that after seeing her invite him?

Speaker 2 (32:25):
Yeah, yeah, he's you know, he didn't he didn't outright
say no. He did say, well, it didn't work. Out
so good the last time, but he has two more
episodes to change his mind, right, and I think it's
gonna I think part of it's gonna depend on what

(32:48):
they find out in the next episode where Justina is
what's going on, you know that kind of thing, and
and anymore information that Roberto might have once he's conscious,
because he kind of spilled the beans a little bit,
but he wasn't really giving a lot of information, right.

Speaker 1 (33:11):
Well, we got enough to hear that Justina did not
voluntarily go like they were led to believe, which was
interesting because I couldn't really I guess I'd okay, so
the uncle knew what happened, and he just lied and
said she chose to go.

Speaker 2 (33:32):
M yeah, to keep the peace, so to speak.

Speaker 1 (33:36):
So how did they find out that they were cheating
the system? How did those other people find out that
her uncle was cheating the system?

Speaker 2 (33:49):
She may have said something inadvertently.

Speaker 1 (33:52):
Hmmm, which goes back to what I said. You know
during that episode, I said, I bet he is like
purposely not picking her her name, which is why he's
keeping all those ribbons.

Speaker 2 (34:05):
Yeah, so him and Justine may have had a fight.
She threatened to expose him and he handed her over
because to keep her quiet. That seems also so stupid
to me, because you've spent all these years keeping her
from being taken and then you're just gonna hand her over. Yeah,

(34:28):
but after I don't know if if everyone finds out
that he had been gaming the system, his his role
there as the leader is probably could put mm hmm.
So he made a he made a call, you know,
he could save his niece or save himself. Yeah, I

(34:53):
get that, maybe.

Speaker 1 (34:56):
Yeah. I mean, Bee isn't a great person. You know,
he's already talking about how they're gonna figure out how
to I guess kind of punish Roberto for his actions.
And of course, now, okay, so I think they're lie.
So Carol's lie. They're lie about Darryl being at the boat.

(35:18):
I'm like, that is the dumbest lie of or couldn't
you think of something better?

Speaker 2 (35:22):
BECAUSELS would Daryl go.

Speaker 1 (35:24):
I don't know, but you know, Fede, of course he
sends a guard to look for the American bring him back,
you know, because something is off, he knows it. I
wonder what he's gonna do, unless no, I wonder what
he's gonna do when he sees Daryl's not there.

Speaker 2 (35:42):
I don't know. Now, I will say I don't think.
I don't think he would have sent anyone to look
for Darryl, at least not as quickly as he did
if it hadn't been for you know, good old Granny there.
Coming back to the necklace.

Speaker 1 (35:55):
Yeah, because he knows that he's lying, and when he's
a to question Roberto, Roberto Bert wash it he might
be tortured, or something might be tortured, or something bad
happens to him because he's gonna have to tell the
truth and he did see her, and well maybe he'll
voluntarily tell the truth and tell everyone what Fede has

(36:18):
been up to.

Speaker 2 (36:19):
Maybe as long as he's out in public, you know,
if it's a closed room, he's got it screwed.

Speaker 1 (36:27):
But that supports the case of one of them is
gonna die, and it looks like it could be Roberto.

Speaker 2 (36:32):
M hm hmm. Yeah, that's not gonna work out for them.
I feel a little bad for them.

Speaker 1 (36:44):
But it makes for an interesting story. I gotta say that,
I kinda And I still don't feel like even though
Fede isn't great, I don't know, he's not really a
villain either.

Speaker 2 (36:55):
No, he's not. No, I mean, he's he you know,
he's not a terrible ruler. He's not a death spot.
He apparently does keep all the chocolate for himself, apparently,
but you know, but he's not a he's also not
a generous man. No, he's pretty selfish. And and and

(37:21):
we've seen that sprinkled throughout since we first re introduced
to him. Mm hmm. He's not interested in helping strangers.
He's not interested in, you know, putting himself out there.
I'm pretty sure if one of the other communities that's
in this little alliance, you know, called for help, he

(37:42):
would probably go, yeah, maybe tomorrow, yeah, you know what
I mean. And then it's always tomorrow, never today, right,
And and he does want to see his community be safe,
but there's a kind of a selfish part to that too.
He's in that community and he wants to be safe, right, absolutely, right. Yeah,

(38:06):
it's not altruistic.

Speaker 1 (38:08):
Yeah, yeah, he's definitely got his own motivations for doing things,
you know, not for necessarily.

Speaker 2 (38:17):
The good of the people. Maybe a little bit, but
not fully. I mean, And he's not a i mean,
compared to some of the others that we've met he's
not a terrible leader. You know, he's not torturing people.

Speaker 1 (38:30):
He's not I mean, he's not like you know, taking
wives and all that crazy stuff.

Speaker 2 (38:34):
You know, it could be way worse. You know, he
doesn't have you know, anyone that he doesn't have anyone
strung up in the you know, in the common area
there to teach someone a lesson.

Speaker 1 (38:46):
Now he just has them fight with the Walkers. Yeah,
I don't know. He Yeah, he's not the worst thing ever,
but he's definitely in that gray zone.

Speaker 2 (38:59):
Yeah. You know, like I said, he's not a great leader,
but he's not terrible. And I guess for you know,
for this, for the apocalypse, you know, that's better than
a lot of places we've seen.

Speaker 1 (39:14):
Although the deal he made for exchanging the girl seems
weak at best. So, yeah, you're getting weapons, but you
saw what happened when they you know, when you got
attacked in a serious way, you needed more help than
just weapons. Like, yeah, you did have the weapons that
ultimately you were able to save yourselves kind of, but

(39:35):
would you had if Daryl wasn't there to take out like,
I don't know, thirty people.

Speaker 2 (39:40):
Yeah, well, and Carol took out quite a few as well. Yeah,
you know, so yeah, if they hadn't have been there
to stem the tide, I don't think they would have
won that particular battle.

Speaker 1 (39:50):
Right, So what we're what are you exchanging for what
kind of protection?

Speaker 2 (39:54):
What else?

Speaker 1 (39:56):
Like that's not I don't know, it doesn't seem quite right,
not quite even.

Speaker 2 (40:02):
Yeah, but I mean we've seen worse deals kind of
like you know, the breaks had a take with oh
the one community, you know, the one that snatched them
all up over in the Walking You're Dead City. Yeah,

(40:27):
So I mean, you know, these alliances and stuff, most
of the alliances really they're forced, all of them. Yeah,
they're not for the benefit of all Yeah, so because
I think the only one we've really seen that was
mutually beneficial was between Alexandria, Ocean Side and Hilltop. Other

(40:49):
than that, all the rest of the alliances all seem
to be very much forced at gunpoint.

Speaker 1 (40:57):
Yeah, it seems like that, like this an alliance, but
only because I'm twisting your arm to do.

Speaker 2 (41:02):
It, right, Commonwealth did it, you know, and you know
all the other groups that we've encountered if they have
satellite groups, you know, and that was on fear of
the Walking dead too when they had those you know,
all the groups that they went to that had you know,
like that, they took tribute from from all the other groups.
They were all taking stuff from these smaller groups. Yeah,

(41:25):
that's true. At least they weren't taking people. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (41:33):
I don't know, but yeah, I'm curious to see how
this plays out next week when he finds out Darryl
is not at the beach, because he's a whole find
out pretty quickly, and he's obviously gonna rush to talk
to Antonio about his son, probably or Carol for lying.
You know, what are you saying? Where is your American

(41:54):
friend at?

Speaker 2 (41:56):
Well, I don't know when we left him. That's where
he was going. Yeah, maybe some thing happened to him
along the way, and I should go find out where
he is. She's witty enough to pick that up, Yeah, yeah,
I mean if I could come up with it that quickly,
I'm sure she could too.

Speaker 1 (42:11):
Yeah, I mean she could just talk a little slower
and just you know, bat her eyes a little bit,
like I really don't know.

Speaker 2 (42:18):
I thought that's where he was going. Yeah, that's where
he said he was.

Speaker 1 (42:22):
Maybe we should look for him.

Speaker 2 (42:27):
I should probably go find him.

Speaker 1 (42:28):
Yeah, yeah, I need some help. Let me get some
people to come with me to look uh well, because
we know they're going to get out of there, and
we already know. I think the girl's name is Paz.
She's going to be helping next week. And I was
waiting on them. I'm like, she's always just slinking around

(42:50):
the edges of all the scenes. When is she going
to have her you know.

Speaker 2 (42:54):
Her moment? Yeah next week?

Speaker 1 (42:57):
Apparently, yeah, next week, because I'm like, she's always it's
just there, just right on the outskirts of the scene,
just like listening like Okay, that's a little strange, but okay.

Speaker 2 (43:07):
Well and she, you know, the I'm pretty sure she
would very much like to go after her girlfriend.

Speaker 1 (43:13):
Oh no doubt, Yeah, absolutely she would. What else should
we tackle I'm trying to think. I mean, that's that
pretty much sums it all up. And there is other
things that were going on inside and around these things,
but those that's definitely the highlights.

Speaker 2 (43:35):
You know.

Speaker 1 (43:35):
I gotta say for Darryl, who is someone who is like,
let's stay out of everything. We're getting out of here
as soon as we can. You know, when he decides
to help that group get their water back. Of course
he wanted the car in exchange, right, It wasn't for nothing.
But I think he just he has his limits, and

(43:58):
I feel like he definitely one of those limits is kids.
And if you get the right cutest kid to like
look like they need help, he will help.

Speaker 2 (44:08):
Yeah, He's like.

Speaker 1 (44:11):
Oh no kid, okay, fine, I'll do it.

Speaker 2 (44:14):
Fine, you know me. Yeah, I was trying to stay uninvolved,
but fine.

Speaker 1 (44:24):
Yes, And of course he's got a little trinket from
I think the little girl's name is Rosa, I think,
I think. But you know, so he goes around helping people,
especially kids, and they leave a little something with him
to remember them by. So he's got something else tied
on his motorcycle now, which just cute. So I guess

(44:46):
it's kind of know that's his hardline. If a child
is suffering, he'll stop and help for sure.

Speaker 2 (44:52):
Well we've kind of known that about him for a while. Yeah.
But I mean, and even you know, going after you
see Justina, I think the only I think, initially the
only reason why he went was because Carol was gonna

(45:12):
go period. Yes, yeah she was, and she would have
gone by herself. Yeah, So and he knows that you know,
she's she's doing okay, but she's not one hundred percent.
She's definitely not. You know, I can do this on
my own, you know.

Speaker 1 (45:31):
Well he said to her, you're not. She's you know,
when she said he would go, She's like, oh, I'll
come too, and she's like, no, you're gonna slow me down.

Speaker 2 (45:38):
You're not one hundred percent. I'll be faster alone, right,
you know, And they need a good liar because they're
bad at it, right.

Speaker 1 (45:45):
I mean, and both of those things are true. She
is not one hundred percent, so it would just be
faster for him to take care of it and you know,
go work your magic.

Speaker 2 (45:55):
Yeah, well then and even you know, so he's got
the bike, and if he had Carol with them, couldn't
really put both of them on that bike and make
it out of there, right, So that's true.

Speaker 1 (46:10):
They need a car if it was both of them,
because who would want her riding as a backpack. That
probably wouldn't be the best idea, right if he have
to if they're trying to bring Justina back. So I
don't know, hmm, Okay. I liked the episode.

Speaker 2 (46:29):
It was good. I had no like really no complaints honestly, no,
I didn't either, Like I said, I really my only
complaint was why are you letting the water hit the ground?
You know? But other than that, this is the only
moment I had through the whole show. Mm hmm. And
I can live with that. Yeah, me too, I, Like

(46:50):
I said, I feel like this in my opinion, this
is like one of the best episodes of the season
so far. I was fully.

Speaker 1 (46:58):
Engaged, so you know, that's that says a lot for me.
Like I thought last week was pretty good as well,
but I think this week is even better than last week,
So that gives me high hopes.

Speaker 2 (47:09):
For the last two episodes. Honestly, well, and it was
a really nice, tight episode. Mm hmmm. You know. So,
I don't think Carol will be meeting up with Darryl
next weekend. No, probably not, But I am kind of
wondering if maybe her and and her little group ends

(47:34):
up at the lighthouse m m hmm to get away
from uh uh uh Fredo ferdo.

Speaker 4 (47:44):
Oh fat a far day made whatever him, yeah, whatever
whatever his name is, to get away from him and
and whatever, you know, because he's figured out uh oh.

Speaker 2 (47:57):
You know right right, they're lying. Yeah, So I'm kind
of wondering if there's going to be them making a
mad dash of some kind towards the lighthouse. And because
I do, I do think Carol knows that that they
would be welcome there. And you know, the ship's captain

(48:19):
is not exactly happy with the whole you know, taking
a girl arrangement anyway. No, she isn't, you know, she's
not real impressed with that.

Speaker 1 (48:28):
No, And she's going to do whatever she can to
kind of help protect, you know, Roberto. So yeah, she's
got a soft spot for him, right, definitely. So if
there's something she can do to kind of disguise this
lie or even I don't know, prevent them from finding
out about the lie, maybe that other guy's about to die.

Speaker 2 (48:47):
Yeah, who he sends out there? You know you're not
coming back, sir, damn Shamuiels Walkers got them.

Speaker 1 (48:55):
Yeah, exactly, because you can't go back and tell somebody something.
So yeah, alright, not sorry, hmm, Yeah, Okay, I'm interested.
I'm looking forward to the final two episodes. I can't
believe it's only two more. It feels like this season
has gone really quickly.

Speaker 2 (49:13):
It has, But I mean, I will say I about
ninety percent of the time for this season so far,
it's it's been solid not I not a lot of filler.
The few slower moments they had were you know, kind
of like with you know, Carol watching the movie and
you know, a couple other couple other scenes they were.

(49:37):
They were good to have them in there, you know,
because while they didn't technically move the story along, it
gave it some depth. Yeah, I agree, And you know,
so nothing nothing too over the top has happened, which
is nice. I like that. And this isn't like an
epic war between you know, two cities or anything like

(49:59):
we had last Blast season, right, which is good because
it has to be different, right.

Speaker 1 (50:05):
But actually I like the pacing of this season and
actually like that there's not a ton of episodes, although
I saw some.

Speaker 2 (50:14):
Viewers saying they.

Speaker 1 (50:15):
Wish there were, you know, this was a fifteen episode
season or something like that.

Speaker 2 (50:19):
What do you think about that?

Speaker 1 (50:21):
You would you have liked the longer season, you know.

Speaker 2 (50:24):
Like maybe two extra would you know, wouldn't have would
be nice, you know, maybe fill some things out a
little bit more. But as long as they keep the
pacing like it like it is, and these good tight episodes.
I'm fine with it. I'd rather have good, solid stories,
you know, from week to week, rather than you know,

(50:47):
filler episodes, which we got a lot of towards, like
the end of The Walking Dead and Fear of the Walking.

Speaker 1 (50:52):
Dead, I mean, sprinkled all throughout Fear and the original
show tons of filler episodes.

Speaker 2 (51:00):
It wasn't I mean, they were throwaways. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (51:03):
Yeah, so I agree with you. I think as long
as if they can manage to keep propelling the plot
forward and keeping the story tight, a couple more episodes
wouldn't have hurt. But if they lose the plot and
they start doing stupid stuff, I'd rather have a shorter season.

Speaker 2 (51:22):
Yeah, exactly, That's where I'm at.

Speaker 1 (51:25):
Yeah, but I don't think they ever would need fifteen episodes.
That's just too much. I just heard someone say that.
I'm like fifteen episodes.

Speaker 2 (51:33):
No, I mean it's not like the old days where they,
you know, were a season was twenty four episodes. Right
now it's you know, six to ten. I mean, this
isn't Grey's Anatomy.

Speaker 1 (51:46):
They're the only ones really pulling that level of episodes
in yeah, for an hour show. I mean, barely anyone
is doing that, like Network TV is still doing it
for their dramas.

Speaker 2 (51:56):
But that's it, you know, like I said, it used
to be you know, twenty four episodes where the standard
you know, long time ago. But and and part of
it is too is you know, production production standards are
higher more, it costs more. You know, a season now
costs you know, on par with a movie. Sometimes an

(52:17):
episode can cost on par with the movie a couple
of you particularly like from Game of Thrones. Yeah, you know,
depending on the genre and what's all going on. I
mean they can get with the special effects and the
graphics and everything can get really pricey. Yeah, de so.

(52:38):
And but truthfully, I'd rather have higher production value and
fewer episodes than more episodes and really cheesy you know,
yeah presentation, because.

Speaker 1 (52:52):
It's the technology is good too good now, right, Like
you cannot take us back to that cheeseball looking stuff.
You have to keep up being the ante and that
makes more money.

Speaker 2 (53:04):
Yeah, I mean there are a few there are a
few exceptions to that doctor who would be one of them,
which again the production value still has gone up, but
they have deliberately kept the cheese value.

Speaker 1 (53:16):
Yeah, that's kind of like on purpose but yeah, that's
on purpose. Yeah, so but you know for you know,
we just we have higher standards now anything.

Speaker 2 (53:28):
Sci fi and fantasy realm.

Speaker 1 (53:30):
You can't be doing that, not really like, especially if
you intend to be like a serious drama about it.

Speaker 2 (53:35):
Right so hm hmm. Okay, if you look at like
the original Star Trek and compare it to Strange New Worlds,
I mean they're you know, light years from each other.

Speaker 1 (53:52):
Right Yeah, Okay, I think I don't have anything else.

Speaker 2 (53:58):
What do you think? No, I think we're good.
