Captain (00:20):
how's it going?
Wilson (00:20):
it's going pretty good.
Not much has changed since lastweek.
Wow, wow you sound really good.
Captain (00:27):
Wow, you sound like
you've been out in the sun, got
a tan.
Wilson (00:34):
I did get out in the sun
a little bit today.
Captain (00:35):
You were like it's good
, it's summer.
Wilson (00:45):
I am going to jump in
your pool, by the way, whenever
that happens.
Yeah, I mean, it's not my pool, but the pool that I go to.
Captain (00:49):
Personal chaperone pool
.
Yeah, I'm popping in there.
Okay, so did you.
Well, I don't know if you wantme to go first.
I did have something I wantedto talk to you about.
Wilson (01:04):
Yeah, okay.
Captain (01:06):
So I don't know if you
remember, but the Annabelle doll
was on tour right I did hearabout that.
There was a thing when it wentthrough New Orleans, that the
prisoner escaped and an oldslave property burned down right
(01:26):
Like these things.
These big things happened inNew Orleans the same time
Annabelle got there and peoplewere like making jokes about it.
Okay, well, apparently one ofthe people that was on tour with
Annabelle doll said he was likehe's like a paranormal
investigator.
I believe he owns Annabelledoll and he is the son-in-law of
the warrens.
(01:47):
It sounds like the family didn'twant the doll, but the
son-in-law was like I'll takethe doll okay I believe, is what
happened, um, and he's like, yeah, he's known as like a
paranormal investigator, danrivera, okay, while on the
annabelle tour he's only 54,while on the Annabelle tour he's
only 54.
While on the Annabelle tour, hewas found dead in his hotel
(02:08):
room.
Wilson (02:09):
Damn.
Captain (02:10):
And people are like
freaking out about this because
Annabelle is out here stilldoing Annabelle things.
Wilson (02:18):
I mean, it was probably
just entirely coincidental.
Captain (02:22):
Yes, but he's not like
um.
I don't believe there wasanything.
You know that people wereconcerned about his health like
any you know any time aroundthis um.
But yeah, he was um touringwith the alleged haunted doll
and on tuesday, middle of Julywhat was that?
(02:44):
July 16th or something it wasannounced that he had.
He suddenly died at 54.
He was an army veteran and hedied in his during the Devil's
Devil's on the Run tour and Ibelieve that he was found in his
hotel room.
Now, I didn't see this untilright now, but apparently they
(03:11):
did finally release thatannabelle was not in the room
when he died I mean, I guessthat's like literally like as if
she's a murder suspect and thengiving her an alibi she's not
going to stay in the room afterthe murder.
But again, I don't think theyknow exactly what the cause of
(03:31):
death was, or they haven'treleased it to the public.
Maybe it just said nothing wassuspicious in the room.
Wilson (03:38):
Hmm, okay.
Captain (03:40):
His cause of death is
still pending is what it says.
Wow, Earlier that day he toldcolleagues that he wasn't
feeling well.
It was Annabelle, for sure.
Wilson (03:52):
Yeah.
Captain (03:52):
Yeah, okay.
Well, I just thought that waskind of cool, like this
Annabelle tour keeps puttingnews stories out here.
Wilson (04:03):
Yeah, I haven't been
following any of it, but I mean
the.
New.
Captain (04:06):
Orleans thing was
really the New Orleans thing was
really really big.
I even think I put it on theRed Room Like I reposted
something on the Red Room page, because there was a couple memes
out there.
Speaking of memes, people willnot leave this couple alone at
the Coldplay concert, which.
I get it, oh my gosh concertwhich I get it, oh my gosh, I
get it, but oh my god, it islike enormous what's happening
(04:29):
on the internet right now ohyeah, memes are everywhere it's
insane what's happening.
Wilson (04:34):
I'm like I get it but
yeah, and nobody feels bad for
them no, not really.
Captain (04:41):
I mean the wife quickly
was take my last name off my
Facebook, right now.
Apparently.
She got a lot of support onsocial media from random
strangers that don't know her,but they reacted so poorly to
being on that camera.
You couldn't have reacted morepoorly, I feel like.
Wilson (05:04):
Yeah, I guess it's just
instinctual, but like yeah you
were already.
You were on camera.
Doing that like jumping awaywill do nothing, and it made it
more obvious yeah, it was.
Captain (05:18):
Uh, it was so rough and
I don't really know much about
coldplay, but people were sayingthat the lead singer, the chris
martin martin guy, they weresaying that, like you know, he's
like the nicest dude in theworld.
So to make that statement abouthow, like I don't know, these
people look like they might becheating, it was like even more
icing on the cake.
It's like, I don't know,apparently this like really nice
(05:40):
dude was the one that was likeyou know outing you, I guess,
yeah um, but yeah, they will notleave those people alone and
they'll never let that down.
So let's hope they have eachother forever I heard he's
already suspended from work uh,yeah, I don't.
I'm not surprised.
(06:01):
I mean yeah, yeah, so I'm justglad you'll never catch me in
anything like that, wasn't thatlady in HR?
Wilson (06:18):
Yeah, it was like his
head of HR or something.
Captain (06:20):
Jesus Christ.
Anyway, you have some things inhere.
What did you want to talk about?
Yeah, so you and I have beentalking about them briefly
before.
Wilson (06:33):
So first Silo.
I'm almost fully caught up.
Captain (06:36):
Finally, it's a really
good show.
Wilson (06:38):
I love the theme song
also.
It just sets the tone.
It's just okay.
I have tried to get you towatch Silo forever.
You have.
Captain (06:47):
you were like I took a
long pause between like the
second to last.
In the last episode I was likeyou're fired and then this is
your only job right now.
Wilson (06:58):
Yeah, yeah, um, so I
like that and it's just.
My appreciation for RebeccaFerguson has just grown
immensely.
Captain (07:06):
Oh, she's a great
actress.
I watched her.
You know I loved her as the MadHatter.
Wilson (07:10):
Yeah, I think that's
where I first like recognized or
like knew she was and I waslike she's good.
Captain (07:16):
And then she does this
role Amazing at this role,
amazing.
And then she's in.
We watched all the MissionImpossible movies and she's in.
We watched all the MissionImpossible movies and she's like
the main role in there and Idon't think you're supposed to
binge those movies, because webinge them and she has.
I don't know if the writers aretracking this or not, but
(07:36):
Rebecca Ferguson as thatcharacter, her like main fight
move is she like jumps up onpeople's shoulders and like
kicks them to the ground and wealso.
Every time she did it while wewere watching the movies, we
were like Ooh shoulders, getthem with the shoulders.
Like every cause, she does itlike a dozen times.
She like yeets herself onsomebody's shoulders and then,
(07:57):
like, kicks them to the ground, and I even, like liked her
character in that too.
But yeah, she's a fantasticactress.
Wilson (08:07):
Yeah, I'll probably
watch her in anything.
Captain (08:09):
Honestly, yeah, does
she do a horror movie?
We should get her, she would Imean.
Wilson (08:15):
Silo's almost there too.
Captain (08:17):
Yeah, almost yeah, we
do sci-fi stuff.
I mean it's yeah, and you saidthat Common really pisses you
off, but bernard's characters, bernard's character is, I think,
the one that gets to me themore I think I don't mind
bernard because he's also smart,whereas, like common's,
(08:38):
character is just like he's thebad guy and he's doing these
like little things to undermineeveryone, and then his scheming
wife also too.
Wilson (08:49):
They're just busybodies.
Captain (08:51):
She is a big schemer
for sure.
I don't know how much more doyou have of the show.
I love the show.
I feel like maybe episode 7 or 8is next okay, okay, and there's
10, there's 10, I think there's10, at least the first season,
(09:15):
I think, had 10 yeah, the firstseason, the very final scene, is
such such a gooping gag.
I mean, it's so like I was notexpecting that.
I guess I didn't know what toexpect.
Um, and you get some more ofthat in the in season two.
Apparently it's based on a bookseries.
(09:36):
It's like really really big, like the series itself has many
books, I think uh, okay, I sorry, I was like trying to remember.
Um, yeah, I've heard at least abook or two oh, you know, I was
looking rebecca ferguson, Iforgot she's also a character in
dune oh yes, lady jessica, Iwas just saying that late to
(09:58):
jessica um, I should lookthrough if any of these are
horror movies.
They don't really sound like itthough.
Wilson (10:08):
I did one.
I'm just adding my watch list.
I think I've seen it, but Lifeshe's in with Jake Gyllenhaal
and Ryan Reynolds.
I think that's a horror.
Captain (10:18):
Life it's 2017 oh my
god, did I watch this movie.
It's a sci-fi movie.
Wilson (10:26):
I'm pretty sure, like if
they're in space.
Captain (10:28):
I've seen it let's add
it to the list okay, let's just
do a quick check to see if wemaybe have done it before there
ain't no way I it.
I don't think so.
It doesn't sound familiar.
Wilson (10:46):
You lucked out this time
.
It's not on there.
Captain (10:48):
Okay, good, we have
done very similar sci-fi movies,
I believe, but I'll justpip-pop it onto the list.
Wilson (10:58):
Pip-pop.
But the other thing I wanted totalk to you about was the
Institute which we both read.
I just recently finished it.
I did, you did read it first,uh, but like, basically right
after I finished the book or Iwas getting close I realized
they had a show coming out andit premiered like last week or
two weeks ago.
(11:18):
Did you start it?
Captain (11:22):
I actually caught up.
I actually lied, never evenlooked at it.
I did actually catch up.
I'm all the way caught upbecause I had the time.
Oh yeah, there are somedifferences, but I kind of see
why they're doing them, just tomake it simpler my biggest gripe
(11:43):
with the show, which I feellike I wasn't even trying to
pick it apart, but you knowthey're.
They're hiring young actors toplay these roles because they
are children in the book.
But listen, the main guy, what's his name?
lucas or something yeah um, yeah, it is staunch opposites.
(12:04):
Um, when you can tell thescenes that they film towards
the beginning, where he'sawkward he's, he's like his
timing is off, it's reallystrange.
And you can tell he's likeinexperienced, and the scenes
that they shot towards the endwhere he is more casual, more
cool, he flows better, like Ican, they are splicing,
obviously, because they don'tfilm things in order and I can
(12:27):
physically see the difference inthe scenes that he shot earlier
and the scenes he shot later, like he literally you can see
him growing as an actor.
And I wasn't, like I said, Iwasn't really trying to do that,
but it was so uh, like I don'tknow eye-catching.
When I am noticing how awkwardhe is in certain scenes, I'm
(12:50):
like, oh my god, they justpicked around him.
You know young kid that wantsto be an actor, whatever.
I mean, he's supposed to beyoung, so what are they gonna do
?
And then, but a couple sceneslater, I'm like okay, he's
actually acting normal.
I can tell the scenes cut backand forth, obviously, with what
they film early and later, andI'm like it's a little
(13:14):
off-putting.
I try to let it go, but I canjust tell.
Wilson (13:18):
Are you going to finish
it then?
Captain (13:20):
Probably it doesn't
have the best rating.
I think it's like a 70 maybe onRotten Tomato, maybe.
Wilson (13:25):
Yeah, it feels like an
MGM show oh definitely,
definitely.
Captain (13:33):
But I don't know.
I'm just like I wish they Iguess there's only so much you
can do with, like looseningsomebody up.
But if they don't have a lot ofexperience until like literally
the end of what they're filming, but it's just weird.
And the other kids in the show,I don't have a lot of
experience until like literallythe end of what they're filming,
but it's just weird.
And the other kids in the show,I don't get that as much Like.
I don't know, do you recognizethat boy from anything?
(13:54):
I don't.
Wilson (13:56):
Oh, the little.
Captain (13:57):
No, no, the main guy.
Wilson (13:59):
Oh, no, no, I don't
think I've seen any of these.
Maybe Nicky the older one yeah,I've never seen.
Captain (14:06):
But he just kind of
looks like a greaser.
So maybe, but yeah, I can.
When I was reading the book Iwas like I can 100% see this
being a miniseries, like it isserving that really hard.
Wilson (14:25):
I hope they don't
stretch it into another season,
though.
They better not it needs to bea one and done.
Captain (14:31):
That's what it should
be.
Yeah, but it's, do you like?
The lady from the weeds is inthere.
Oh yeah, her character's playeda little differently than the
book, but that is not how Ipictured that that character in
the book at all no, and she'slike a little friendlier ish so
(14:55):
far than the book version nowthe two what?
The doctor and the head ofsecurity.
That is how I pictured them.
Oh, I didn't picture the headof security.
That is how I pictured them.
Wilson (15:04):
Oh, I didn't picture the
head of security that way.
I pictured a 40-year-old formerfootball player.
Captain (15:10):
Oh, really no.
I was picturing someone likethat older and creepy.
I was trying to see what's theguy's name, luke.
Wilson (15:22):
The main kid yeah.
Captain (15:24):
The actor doesn't.
He's not even clickable onWikipedia.
So yeah, I think I'm spot onwith what I'm saying.
Wilson (15:37):
Spot on Okay.
Captain (15:40):
But it's not bad.
I probably would finish it.
Wilson (15:43):
Okay, I mean because I'm
going to watch the episode that
comes out tomorrow.
Captain (15:47):
Oh yeah, that's right,
it does come out.
What is that Saturday?
No Sundays.
Wilson (15:50):
Sundays, yeah, sundays.
Captain (15:52):
Dexter's Friday.
And oh, the revival show I'mwatching is Thursdays.
Wilson (15:58):
Wow.
Captain (15:59):
I know, and then I am
watching an anime right now that
comes out on saturdays which isunlike me but it's a pretty
good um anime.
Okay, it's about, uh, monstersthat have to get murdered.
Monsters attack cities and theyhave, like monster hunters that
(16:20):
kill them.
But the secret, or like youfind out.
Well, I think you find out inthe trailer or whatever.
But one of the monsters isactually like the main character
.
He's a human but he, like endsup having a monster power.
Wilson (16:39):
Oh, that sounds
interesting and he has to like
hide, hide it, because they killmonsters weren't you telling me
about another one with likeprescription drugs and it like
can heal you.
Captain (16:53):
It's like a mushroom oh
, that's not an anime.
I think that's just a regularcartoon called common side
effects.
That's the one with Hank Hillas the voice actor again which I
think that King of the Hill, doesn't that come out today or
yesterday or something?
Wilson (17:08):
I knew it was soon, I
didn't know when.
Captain (17:10):
I feel like it's the
middle of July, maybe it's
August.
I wasn't a huge fan of King ofthe Hill when I was a kid, but I
feel like as an adult, itprobably hits way harder.
Wilson (17:24):
We tried to watch a
couple episodes.
I think like we did together no, sorry, finn, and I tried to
watch a couple and it's good oh,august 4th, I was off oh maybe
by the time this is out oh yeah, this will be, this will be out,
or about to be.
Captain (17:41):
Okay, wow, what a great
show.
Wow, okay, yeah.
Wilson (17:49):
All right, well, should
I pull us in?
Captain (17:51):
Yeah, let's pull up.
Wilson (17:54):
Pull up, park it, park
it.
Captain (17:58):
We pulled up, we parked
, came inside.
Wilson (18:00):
Popped, locked and
dropped it.
Captain (18:03):
Exactly Yep, yep.
Wilson (18:05):
Okay, pop locked and
dropped it, exactly, okay.
Well, welcome to the 174thepisode of the Red Rum Podcast,
where we review horror movieswhile enjoying an adult beverage
or two.
Captain (18:14):
And I'm Captain.
Wilson (18:15):
And I'm Wilson, and this
week we're reviewing the 2024
American slasher film Stream.
Captain (18:24):
Yes, there's not a lot
of stuff on here about that,
about the peeps.
Wilson (18:31):
Yeah, well, I can start
with the director.
I can't actually click on him,so can't speak to that.
Captain (18:39):
But his name is.
Wilson (18:42):
Oh yes, His name is
Michael Levy.
Michael Levy, I'm trying to getto the, the imdb, to see if
that will at least show mesomething oh, okay, so he did.
He's been the producer and alot of stuff.
Um, oh, he's directed a lot ofthings, but they seem like Kind
(19:07):
of they're shorts Mostly.
Captain (19:11):
So if somebody gave him
a shot, they did Wait, but he
did.
Wilson (19:17):
Oh, I don't know, okay,
I don't know, he did some things
.
Captain (19:21):
This Michael Levy.
Wilson (19:24):
Which one's this Michael
Levy.
One is this Michael Levy.
Captain (19:25):
I'm just saying like
it's this one yeah, because I
went to the IMDB for stream andclicked on the director's name
did you used to have the abilityto edit IMDB, like didn't you
have an account?
Me personally yeah, I thoughtyou like had an account.
Wilson (19:42):
Well, I had, like I
think I tried their pro for like
a month oh, you can't edit withuh I don't know.
I guess I never tried.
I don't know where I'd find thatinformation oh, he did the
terror fire movies dude, thatmakes so much sense I think he
produced those well, I know, butlike I'm just saying like that
(20:05):
that tracks oh, the onecharacter in this movie is the
guy who plays art the clown yeah, I wrote that somewhere I don't
know if you did or not, butit's just what I what you know
yeah oh yeah, I think you'reright.
Captain (20:26):
I don't remember.
Wilson (20:28):
There's a lot of um you
don't even have them listed uh,
there's a lot of um, what's thatfuckface's name?
Captain (20:36):
rob zombie, what?
There's a lot of rob zombieactors in this movie oh, oh, oh
oh.
Wilson (20:43):
I was like I don't
remember seeing him.
Captain (20:45):
The Rob Zombie.
Wilson (20:47):
Yeah, Okay.
So speaking of cast, we canjump into the rest of them.
We have Jeffrey Combs stars asMr Lockwood.
He was the main dude in thereanimator From Beyond.
Captain (21:02):
Oh yes, we did do that
movie.
It's like Videodrome, whereit's like oh yes, we did do that
movie, it's like Videodrome.
Wilson (21:07):
We did that recently
then.
Captain (21:09):
Yeah, no, from Beyond
we did more recently.
Wilson (21:11):
Oh, was that that really
weird one?
Captain (21:13):
Yeah, I think there's a
lady screaming on the stairs
frantically.
Okay, I'm going to say thatmovie is like one One.
It wasn't that recently.
Wilson (21:26):
I'm gonna say like 129
okay, I think I was thinking of
um crimes of the future oh, no,no, no, not that one um, okay,
uh, I actually liked from beyondwe had guests on that one what
did you say?
129, 129?
.
Captain (21:44):
Yeah, it was 142.
Oh, the more episodes we makethe way, harder it is to hit it
on the money.
Wilson (21:51):
Yeah, because it used to
be like the hundreds weren't
that many.
I could, like you know.
Captain (21:57):
I mean yeah.
The sample size is too big.
Wilson (22:01):
Too big.
And then for Jeffrey I also.
I think I first recognized himin he was in Star Trek.
He's played a really goodcharacter.
Like he knocked thatperformance out.
It was good.
Captain (22:16):
Yeah, I never really
watched that stuff.
Wilson (22:19):
And he did.
The voice of Ratchet inTransformers.
Is that the cartoon?
Captain (22:28):
I figure, I don't know,
he has a specific voice, that
actor he does, I'm not sure, soyeah, but I never really got
into the transformer stuff.
So I like the movies okay, Ilike the um videos of optimus
prime fucking with people whenthey try to take a picture with
him at disney or whatever oh,you mean like.
(22:51):
Okay, you mean like whenthey're in the costumes and yes,
being in character, and yes,and optimus, no, sorry, not
optimus prime, sorry, sorry,sorry.
Wilson (22:59):
Decepticon or whatever
oh, yes, yes, what's the?
Captain (23:02):
main decepticons name
megatron oh, yeah, I think it's
megatron.
Yeah, he's like messing withpeople.
You know, somebody walks up inlike a muscle shirt and he's
like maybe you should growmuscles before you wear that
shirt.
Or like I, he like, you know,he's very, you know, decepticon,
um, but that is the only that'slike the most.
I really know about that andthe fact that they call them
(23:25):
like.
Obviously the evil guys are theones that are called
Decepticons.
Wilson (23:28):
So Jay doesn't like
those movies.
Captain (23:31):
I don't think so.
You know I don't watch them.
Wilson (23:34):
Oh, wow.
Captain (23:35):
You know that one movie
that came out a couple years
ago that was like Bumblebeeversus Godzilla or something.
Wilson (23:40):
Okay, that wasn't it,
but yeah.
Captain (23:43):
The trailer for that
looked really good and I think
we were tempted to go see it,but we didn't.
Wilson (23:49):
What was it?
Captain (23:49):
called.
Wilson (23:50):
I mean, there was one
called just Bumblebee.
Captain (23:54):
Oh, doesn't he fight
like a giant monkey or something
?
Wilson (23:57):
Or he's friends with a
giant monkey.
Last year, transformers BeastWait did they call it Beast Wars
.
Yeah, it came out.
So there was a monkey robot andsome other animal robots.
Captain (24:12):
Why that's a whole
thing, I guess Is Bumblebee
considered an animal robot.
Wilson (24:17):
No, it's a car.
Captain (24:21):
But you see how I would
get confused.
A Bumblebee is.
Wilson (24:24):
Yeah, I mean it's just
because he's a yellow car.
Captain (24:28):
It's called what
Transformers, Beast Mode or
something.
Wilson (24:31):
The one that came out
last year was Beast Wars.
Captain (24:36):
Well, I think that
maybe it was just the Bumblebee
movie that I remember seeing thetrailer and being like they're
getting me.
Wilson (24:44):
I actually watched one
of the seasons or I watched a
lot of the transformers when Iwas younger, but the quality
they it was so bad why doesbeast war say 1996?
I think I gave you the name ofthe tv show that it's inspired
by and I messed up the movietitle.
Captain (25:04):
Rise of the Beast.
Wilson (25:05):
Yeah.
Captain (25:06):
This was two years ago.
Wilson (25:08):
But that has characters
from the show Beast Wars.
Captain (25:12):
Okay, but was this
robot Godzilla in Bumblebee?
Wilson (25:16):
That wasn't Godzilla.
What there's no Godzilla.
Captain (25:20):
Sorry, this robot
gorilla, was he in Bumblebee, or
yeah?
No, this was the only he inBumblebee, or yeah.
Wilson (25:25):
No, this was the only.
The gorilla was only in thismovie.
Captain (25:29):
What's the gorilla's
name?
Wilson (25:31):
That one is Optimus
Primal is it that funny?
Captain (25:57):
I just, I just I don't
know why I was expecting
something like somewhat clever.
I don't, I, I don't know, Ijust optimus primimal sounds so
stupid.
Wilson (26:08):
I don't know You're
going to be mad at the cheetah's
name, I think so oh, no what.
Cheetor.
I can't why A cheetah deservessomething way better than that
(26:29):
um I'm trying to think if thereare any others that stand stand
out like that oh my god, optimusprimal really got me dude.
Captain (26:42):
Oh my gosh, um, are you
sure I swear he was in a movie
that was not beast mode orwhatever the fuck who are we
talking?
Wilson (26:50):
about rise of the beasts
, optimus primal no so he's a
good gorilla yeah all theanimals are good uh, yeah,
there's like a scene where, likeit accidentally turns evil.
But yeah, they're, they're allgood.
Captain (27:06):
And this is all based
on the show from the 80s or
whatever.
Wilson (27:10):
Yeah, well, sort of Some
of it.
The other is from that 90s showthat you just accidentally
looked up.
Captain (27:19):
Oh, I see Cheetor Rat
Trap.
God, they have a rat one.
Wilson (27:25):
Yeah.
Captain (27:25):
Rhinox, y'all just
threw an X at the end.
Wilson (27:30):
Yeah, what animal do you
think that one is?
Oh man.
Captain (27:35):
Black Arachnia.
Somebody named their kid that2025.
Black arachnia is a child'sname.
100%.
Wilson (27:48):
That just sounds like
somebody's being almost racist.
Captain (27:51):
It's all one word Black
arachnia.
Wilson (27:54):
Oh, it's, all one Okay.
Captain (27:55):
Yeah, it's all one word
black arachnia.
Oh, it's all okay.
Wilson (27:56):
Yeah, it's all one word
black arachnia imagine if you
knew like two anarachnias andlike they're, like it's black
arachnia it's like a uh, I don'tknow like office, like joke or
like snl or something.
Captain (28:15):
Um, I mean, wilson
waspinator, come the fuck on
it's the most annoying characterI mean, I get it.
Wasps fucking suck um anyway.
Well, I don't know how he gotthere, but oh yeah, he's the
voice of ratchet.
Wilson (28:34):
Ratchet's a good guy,
right uh, I don't know, you're
gonna, you're gonna take us downanother rabbit hole.
I think, if I have to look upratchet, I don't know who's the
bad guys?
Captain (28:45):
and what transformers,
we have optimus decepticon.
What's his name?
Wilson (28:51):
meggas decepticon
optimus, like autobots, they're
the good guys.
And then megatron is uh,decepticon the bad guys he's the
main decepticon yeah, and thenthe, the, the beasts are called.
Captain (29:09):
Oh, I do not like that.
I do not like that.
Wilson (29:18):
Yeah.
Captain (29:19):
Okay, well, if you want
to know Ratchet oh, that didn't
answer my question they'retelling me what kind of truck he
is.
Wilson (29:28):
Who.
Captain (29:28):
Ratchet, it's fine, we
can keep going.
Wilson (29:32):
Okay, yeah.
Captain (29:33):
You are correct about
the rabbit hole.
Wilson (29:35):
There's a lot going on
in that universe, okay okay, and
then we have charles edwinpowell as roy keenan.
Captain (29:41):
The dad looks like he I
don't, I don't even remember if
he's, if he's not evenclickable.
Wilson (29:47):
I think he's not
clickable uh, his imdb has just
like looks like several smallroles and things.
Captain (29:54):
Oh, I realize now I
forgot to fill in some
characters on here because Ididn't feel like doing all the
work.
Wilson (30:00):
Yeah, like the one that
plays Art, the Clown.
Captain (30:03):
Yeah Well, which one's?
Well, anyway, you'll get there.
Wilson (30:11):
Yeah, so we have Tim
Reed who plays Bernard.
He was in a um it, the tv umadaptation oh or like the I
mostly know him as the dad insystems oh yeah, I mean, I know
we watched that one likebasically for the podcast a
(30:34):
couple years ago, sister, sister, but I don't remember the dad.
Captain (30:38):
I vaguely remember that
was for the podcast.
We watched that.
Wilson (30:41):
Well, no, I think we
talked about it on the podcast.
Then, right afterwards, we'relike, well, we need to watch the
episode.
Captain (30:48):
Okay, I remember there
was an episode of Degrassi that
Lieutenant and I were likedesperately quoting and we were
like we got to find it onYouTube, um but anyway, um, yeah
, apparently he's like did abunch of stuff in the Tim Reed,
did a bunch of stuff in the 80s.
Wilson (31:05):
But yeah, I mostly know
him for sister, sister, okay uh,
then we have Dee Wallace, uh,as Linda Spring she's I mean,
she's barely in this movie, uh,but it was nice to see her in
there she, she starts it off shedoes, she does.
Uh, we don't need to go throughall the things she oh.
Captain (31:25):
No, okay, we can just a
quick, quick recap you want me
to do?
Wilson (31:30):
okay, yeah, you go for
it, mary and et kujo, I don't
remember her character's name,but she's Mary.
Captain (31:32):
Yeah, you can go for it
, mary.
And ET Cujo.
I don't remember hercharacter's name, but she's the
main one.
Critters, house of the Devil.
I don't remember saying allthese last time, but she's Diane
in Red Christmas from 2016.
Did we do that one too?
Wilson (31:44):
Yeah, yeah, we did Red
Christmas.
Captain (31:47):
Oh, lordy, I don't even
remember when that was.
Wilson (31:57):
Well, uh well, it's
probably christmas.
No, I mean, I don't uh, wasthat in the 100s?
Captain (31:59):
like I don't know, I'm
gonna say no, I think that was
early, it was yeah.
I'm saying it was like oh sorry, yeah before the first 100 is
what I mean.
Wilson (32:05):
Yeah the other the other
100.
Yeah, um, I want to say like 82I'm gonna guess this time and
I'm going to say 40.
Captain (32:17):
Holy One of us is way
off.
Wilson (32:22):
Sorry, it's taking me a
second to pull it up.
Hold on.
Captain (32:28):
Oh, I thought you were
about to brag your ass off.
Wilson (32:31):
No, but I hope so Was
this Red Christmas.
Yeah, oh it was 35 holy cow,we'll brag away.
Cut my fingers off over hereokay I wouldn't go that far um,
all right, so that was.
Captain (32:49):
Uh, that's d wallace,
oh wait what, apparently in 2022
, she was in a jeepers creepersmovie, the the ice prequel or I
think we we chose to not watchthat one I think, we were like
it's not gonna be good and she'sin a rod zombie movie, which I
only mentioned because a bunchof those people are in the rob
zombie movies and it's calledthree from hell yeah, yeah okay,
(33:13):
okay, um, all right, so then wehave Daniel Roebuck as Howard.
Wilson (33:18):
He was in the Fugitive.
He was, I guess, cody Banks'dad in Agent Cody Banks.
He's in Matlock.
Okay, I see you have some moreRob Zombie films.
Final Destination.
Captain (33:34):
He's some agent in the
very first one, which obviously
I didn't watch yeah, I didn'twatch that.
Oh wait, he was in a lot waityeah, this is where I recognize
him, because in the in thismovie he's like the best actor.
I was like why do I recognizethis guy and why is he actually
acting?
And then I realized he's artfrom, he's dr leslie, art from
(33:56):
lost and I we recentlyre-watched all of lost, so
that's why I like morerecognized him.
But he's kind of his characterin the show is kind of annoying
but um, I mean, he is annoyingbut um, he, he's a good actor in
lost, I mean wait, so who?
Wilson (34:13):
who is he in this?
Captain (34:16):
what?
He's the drunk guy in this?
Oh right, right, right yep, uh,we have tony todd um not so
briefly very, very, very, very, very end I, I would argue, his
scene is even smaller than dwellis's yep, uh.
Wilson (34:33):
Then we have bill mosley
who plays wait what?
Captain (34:36):
oh, tony todd?
He's candy man, I didn't meanto skip tony todd I forgot to
put it in there.
I don't know what else he'sdone.
Wilson (34:42):
Well, no, he was in
final destination, the most
recent one yeah and he mostlyknown as candy man yeah, and
then I feel like he just pops upin a lot of other places but
those those are the big things, those are the main things.
And passed away last year.
Captain (34:59):
Yes, that's some goose
for this that was right around
the same time.
Okay, oh yeah, he's been in somuch stuff.
I mean, does he do TV shows too?
Wilson (35:16):
I don't know, you're the
one looking him up it says he's
been on like 24.
Captain (35:22):
I mean, oh, he's been
on other Final Destination
movies.
Oh, that's right.
His character is like aprevious character.
Oh lord, do you recognize himfrom?
Apparently he was in Star Trek.
He played Kern in Star Trek.
Wilson (35:40):
He played Kern in Star
Trek.
Captain (35:41):
Which Star Trek Next.
Wilson (35:47):
Generation and Deep
Space Nine.
I would have seen him, but Idon't remember.
Captain (35:50):
Okay, he's mostly known
for the Candyman thing.
Anyway, you can keep going.
Wilson (35:56):
I never watched the new
one, he was in.
Captain (35:58):
The Flash and he's in
Spider-Man 2.
Oh, he's Venom in the videogame Spider-Man 2.
Apparently he received anAcademy Games nomination for his
role in Spider-Man 2, the game.
Wilson (36:17):
Damn Okay.
Captain (36:19):
He's got.
He's got a voice that I feellike could do good, voice acting
, you know.
Wilson (36:25):
Uh, yeah, I mean he
passed away last year.
Captain (36:30):
Yeah, yeah, very
recently actually.
Dude, his Wikipedia is justscroll forever.
Yeah, he's been in tv shows too.
Um, okay, you can keep going uh, okay, yep, yep, yep.
Wilson (36:43):
Uh.
Bill mosley as jimmy um.
He was chop top in texaschainsaw massacre 2 um.
And again in rob zombie andagain in Rob Zombie movies, like
everyone else.
Captain (36:55):
Exactly.
Wilson (36:56):
His character was weird
in Texas Chainsaw 2.
Captain (37:01):
I don't know who.
I don't remember who Jimmy is.
Who is this in the movie?
Wilson (37:07):
Is he one of the?
Captain (37:08):
helpers.
Wilson (37:10):
I think he might have
been a.
Well, no, because his namewouldn't tell me.
His name is Jimmy.
I don't remember who Jimmymy isokay, uh, all right, how does
that guy play whatever?
Um, all right, then we havederek.
Captain (37:26):
Sheridan is mark uh,
dave, dave sheridan oh sorry.
Wilson (37:30):
Yes, dave, um most known
playing playing Officer Doofy
in Scary Movie.
Captain (37:37):
I need to rewatch that.
Wilson (37:39):
Yeah, like some of it
does not age well, but it's
still a good time, alright.
And then, finally, we have TimCurry.
My Letterboxd review said Idon't think you can really say
that Tim Curry was in this movie, because you don't ever see his
face I don't think he was there.
Captain (37:58):
I think he audioed in
yeah, but it's like they.
I saw a couple of posters wheretim curry is like build, oh
yeah yeah, that's what I wasgonna pull up.
Wilson (38:09):
Like when you look up
the letterbox, it's just his
face is like half the screen.
Captain (38:13):
You don't even see his
face in the movie I.
I mean, he's physically notthere when they're filming.
He just sent in a tape.
Wilson (38:20):
Which I mean.
That's fine if that was the job, but this movie cannot put his
face on the front of themarketing.
No Like it's a Tim Curry movie,Like no.
Captain (38:29):
They absolutely cannot,
but they did.
Wilson (38:34):
Sure did.
Captain (38:37):
What would you say Tim
Curry's?
I mean, he's from a bunch ofstuff, yeah, like Rocky Horror
Picture Show the TV show withTim.
Wilson (38:46):
Reed yeah, he's done a
lot.
Captain (38:51):
He's done so much Come.
Wilson (38:52):
Alone 2.
Captain (38:53):
Rocky Horror is
probably.
Oh yeah, I think you're right.
Yeah, rocky har is the thing Iwouldn't probably mostly
recognize him from, but it too.
But um but he also has a goodlike animated uh voice, like a
good yeah tim curry is stillalive uh, yes, I think he is
(39:14):
like, I don't think he doesthings yeah, I thought something
came up about his healthrecently, like not that long ago
, but maybe I'm thinking ofsomebody else oh he had a stroke
in 2012 okay, um, it looks likehe was in the documentary for
it a couple years ago, but Iwasn't sure.
Wilson (39:37):
When I saw that I was
like, are they just taking from
old interviews when it came out,or is he actually in it?
Because I hate when they dothat.
Captain (39:47):
Yeah, I wouldn't know,
sorry, Wouldn't nay.
You skipped over Terry Kisserasuce um, I keep doing that he's
best known for portraying thedeceased titular character,
bernie lomax, in the movieweekend at bernie's.
(40:08):
Have you seen weekend bernie's?
I think so it's honestly reallyfunny.
I watched it, like I want tosay, maybe like 12 years ago,
and then I re-watched it againlike three years ago, and it was
still really funny.
Um, commander, who was here?
yeah um, he never seen the movie.
(40:31):
So when I showed it to him, um,I was like oh, I'm really hyped
, I'm gonna show you this movie.
Um, and he was like also kindof genuinely like happy with the
movie.
Wilson (40:41):
He was like this is
pretty good oh, wow, okay,
that's like some good creditcoming from him too yes, um, but
I just it's.
Captain (40:49):
I don't know how this
man like apparently he like I
don't know if he like won awardsfor playing a dead body in that
movie, but like I think he likewas nominated or he was like
well regarded for playing thatburning character in Weekend at
Bernie's.
But anyway, it's a lot of castin here.
Wilson (41:12):
Yeah.
Captain (41:12):
They're not all that
important.
Wilson (41:14):
It's mostly the main
family yes, um, and it starts
off with uh well, yeah, like yousaid earlier, um, d wallace,
you, you get pretty quickly.
She's the owner of like a bedand breakfast but like a hotel
or a local hotel, um, and she'sjust cleaning up.
It's established that, like themaintenance guy comes in,
(41:34):
they've been doing some upgradesyeah, and he said there's rats
in the basement or something andhe wanted, or she wanted, to go
look and he's like, no, no, youdon't need to do that.
So it gets kind of like, okay,he might be hiding something, um
, so anyway, he, he, what um,you don't necessarily see him,
(41:56):
but you see, duellis.
Captain (41:58):
Her vacuum stopped
working because somebody cut the
cord, and then shortly afterthat she gets picked up and
thrown into a glass table.
Wilson (42:05):
Oh yeah, there's a
hooded figure that walked in
after the maintenance guy left.
Captain (42:09):
Yeah, yeah, and that's
it for Duellis.
Wilson (42:12):
Oh no.
Captain (42:13):
You see a brief scene
of her tied up or something.
Wilson (42:16):
Yeah, and they drill a
hole in her head.
Captain (42:18):
Yeah, she's like she
dies.
Wilson (42:20):
She's basically out, or
I mean she is out.
Captain (42:24):
I mean, maybe she
recovers from the drill hole,
who knows?
Yeah, who knows.
Wilson (42:28):
So then after that it
cuts to this family.
It's like a mom, son and adaughter.
The daughter's like getsbrought home by the police for
like underage drinking orsomething.
Captain (42:40):
Yeah, she's, you know,
a typical teenager um attitude,
um.
But what's weird is that like, not only is she like a teenager,
like fuck you dad, but she alsothinks it's like very, very
funny and she's laughing aboutit.
I'm like there ain't nothingfunny about cops dragging you
home.
No I don't care what age youare.
That's not funny that cops arebringing you home.
(43:04):
Yeah, she gets mad at her dadfor saying next time it happens,
I'm just going to leave you injail.
Not the best relationship.
Wilson (43:14):
Oh wait, I just realized
we missed someone like the mom.
Captain (43:17):
danielle harris is an
actress, yeah oh, I feel like
she didn't come up when I ormaybe I accidentally- skipped
her kind of low down but like,if you look at her like she's
done a lot what has she done?
I don't recognize her um, okay,so she.
Wilson (43:35):
Well, she was in
halloween.
Four and five.
Um, oh, let's see, she was anurban legend.
Um, regrets go wild.
Wait, she voiced, she voices.
Yeah, oh my gosh, yes, shevoices debbie thornberry oh,
debbie yeah, the the teenagesister.
(43:56):
Yeah, yeah, she was inHalloween 2, like the remake.
Let's see, did she?
Captain (44:06):
come up in a different.
I feel like she came up in adifferent movie we did.
Now that I hear DebbieThornberry, I swear that came up
before in a movie.
Wilson (44:14):
I think it did too.
I mean, did we do a newerHalloween?
Captain (44:20):
I don't think so.
I don't think we did anything.
Wilson (44:23):
Well then, unless we did
Urban Legend.
Captain (44:26):
I don't know that we
Unless we just talked about it,
but I swear, what's her name?
Wilson (44:33):
Danielle Harris.
Captain (44:35):
Danielle Harris.
Danielle Harris.
Oh, it's weird.
In the movie I didn't recognizeher, but looking at the
pictures on Google I'm like, ohyeah, I do recognize this face
Interesting, yeah, so she does agood bit.
Wilson (44:51):
Sorry, oops, yeah, she
does do all the Halloween stuff
in all fairness, she's listedreally far down on the Wikipedia
okay that's probably why Ididn't grab her yeah, so anyway,
she's okay.
She's kind of annoying, but Imean the character we did the
original Halloween, didn't we?
Yeah, but she wasn't in thatyeah, I don't know.
(45:15):
I don't know.
Yeah, but she wasn't in that.
Yeah, I don't know, I don'tknow um, yeah, but anyway.
So the father decides like hey, let's go on a family trip, um
he's like wants to reset thefamily after they're going
through this yeah, what are theygoing through?
Captain (45:31):
oh, just that okay well
, it's weird that with the first
scene we see of the father isthat he's crying watching old
home videos, and I swore I wasseeing that being like oh, he
must be sad that his like wifedied or one of his kids died, or
like the family's broken.
It's like no, everyone's here.
The sister's a little bratty,but like that's the most they're
(45:52):
going through, so I.
Wilson (45:54):
It was a strange way to
start start his scenes yeah, uh,
and like he wants to go to thishotel where I guess they
vacationed in the past andthere's, like in a nondescript
park nearby that the kidsexcited for yeah, I think is
this in the poconos I don't knowI feel like they said this was
(46:14):
in the poconos and I was like,uh, that's why it's like in the
middle of nowhere okay, wellthey, when they get the hotel
like this does not sound like afun trip.
They basically dragged the girlthere and she didn't she didn't
even want to go, I mean no, no,wi-fi.
And then they're just mad thatshe's not having fun.
(46:36):
I, like you, didn't even try totailor the vacation or ask
their opinion why, would you?
Captain (46:45):
yeah, and I think um
the as soon as they get there,
um like she already decides tofuck off from her family.
She sees what those two boysTwo French guys.
Yeah, that are you know, likearound her age that she's like
oh, I'll just go talk to them atthe bar.
(47:05):
Meanwhile they meet Mr Lockwoodat check-in and he's a real
fucking weirdo about like oh,the old credit card machine on
the fritz like oh yeah, socreepy in that scene.
Wilson (47:18):
Yeah, and jeffrey coombs
or combs, if anyone forgot who
mr lockwood was.
Captain (47:24):
But yeah, this is his
character um, and then I can't
remember, they kind of cut backand forth between them.
I don't remember what.
Wilson (47:42):
So we don't know
necessarily yet that he's super
mischievous, but he does turnout to be a bad guy.
But yeah, so Taylor, orwhatever, sneaks on the roof
with one of the boys and she'slike you know what.
We should ditch your friend andgo to a concert, because I want
to go yeah, I want to steal hisconcert ticket.
Captain (47:59):
This is after.
I think she already found outthat the family, the dad, bought
them tickets to like ultra zoneor something, which is like it
sounds like a an old, not superfun amusement park that she's
already been to a bunch.
Yeah, so like she already has aplan to be with her family and
she's already been to a bunch,yeah.
So like she already has a planto be with her family and she's
like, nah, nah.
Wilson (48:19):
I'm good.
Captain (48:20):
Thanks, yeah, and like
she doesn't get along with her
dad, but at least her mom wastrying to be cool about it, like
when her mom meets her in thebar and it's like, listen, I
know this might not be of coolabout it, so you would think
that she would give them some, like her mom's trying to meet
(48:43):
her halfway, you would thinkthat she would try a little bit,
but no but no, and, and thenonce she leaves with this guy,
we basically don't see her untilthe very end of the movie, like
oh, I guess, yeah, I guess,that's true there's like a scene
in a car later where she's likeum, so they're on their way to
the concert and she's likeactually I want to go home yeah,
(49:04):
yeah, that's true.
Yeah, so she sneaks out in themiddle of the night and the
family yeah, the family doesn'trealize that.
Um, I think the first, is itthe first kill we see?
After d wallace is at the endof the night, the bartender goes
to the arcade, or?
Wilson (49:19):
yeah, I didn't know I I
think I just didn't realize it
was the bartender.
But yeah, I think he is likeone of the first yeah, the bar
like closes up.
Captain (49:25):
He goes to play in the
arcade and then he's like um, he
sees somebody standing behindhim and he's like our kid's
closed buddy.
I'm just doing, uh, somemaintenance meanwhile, he is so
actively playing a game, um, buthe gets like yeeted up by a
like bodybuilder with like anumber four or something on his
(49:46):
chest and, um, his eye getsbeaten in by the joystick.
So this movie is real like um,it definitely has like that
terror terrifier vibe where it'sreal gutsy yeah, they did have
some fun with like eyeballseyeballs popping out yeah
Wilson (50:04):
yeah, so you get all of
that with them with our paid
kill and I think, as this ishappening, we start to get the
picture that, like there arecameras all over the place and
it's being watched by mrlockwood and there are cameras
all over the place and it'sbeing watched by Mr Lockwood and
there are players with theselike numbers on their chest.
Captain (50:21):
Yeah, there's like one,
two, three, four and I think
very shortly after that you getthe romantic couple, the couple
that was like making out allover each other in the like
honeymoon suite.
Dude, that was such an intensescene.
I was like you got to get theseladies somewhere else.
Wilson (50:40):
Yeah, they were like
everywhere that was an intense
like sex scene or whatever inthat hot tub.
Captain (50:47):
I was like they're just
it went on for so long I was
like I get it, she's got them, but they're bouncing everywhere
like can you I?
Wilson (51:00):
I get it and you hear
like the water slapping.
Captain (51:02):
Yeah, oh, that's the
other thing I was like I don't
think you're supposed to befucking in a hot tub.
Like I'm pretty sure that's notgood for your lady part.
Like I'm pretty sure utishappen that way.
Wilson (51:15):
Like yeah, no one's
gonna have a good time from this
almost confident that hot tubfucking is not ideal for you
maybe do you think a possibleyeast infection was the first
thing on her mind when she wasabout to die like she was like
what about my yeast infection?
Captain (51:32):
I, I don't know well.
Wilson (51:34):
So she looks up because
somebody's standing in the room
and they like drag her out ofthe hot tub and then another
player comes in and just like.
Captain (51:45):
Axes or something.
The boy I can't remember whattool he uses.
Yeah.
Wilson (51:49):
And then she, like, runs
up so she escapes her first
attacker runs up and just screamcries at the guy's dead body
but, like lady, there are twomurderers in that room now and
you're just standing there, shedoes do something.
Captain (52:03):
She hits one of them.
Wilson (52:04):
I think she gets a hit
in on one of them yeah, so she
does like start to make it outin the hallway, but they they
drag her back in well, yeah, Imean, she's got her yiddies out,
I mean she did um, but yeah, I,I just I was like I get it,
you're trying to do a sex scenein a horror movie.
Captain (52:23):
It's just like I don't
know it went on for longer than
necessary.
Um, but yeah, so that's that's.
Wilson (52:30):
That's the next one yeah
, so uh, what do we have next?
I think we're getting reallyclose to the scene where people
are collecting in the outdoorcourtyard and where the rules
are explained.
Captain (52:44):
Yeah, I think yeah.
The dad and the son realizethat they're locked in.
No doors will be allowed.
Wilson (52:49):
Oh yeah, because they go
looking for Taylor.
Yeah, sorry.
Captain (52:52):
They do go looking for
Taylor, and that's when they
meet.
What's that guy's name?
Tim Reed Looking for Taylor.
I didn't take great notesbecause I was a little
(53:21):
preoccupied, but I can'tremember.
I think the next kill is themom, maybe.
Wilson (53:29):
Well, I mean so when
everyone goes out in that
courtyard like before the momdies they explain the rules,
like you know, Mr Lockwood.
Yeah, they're like theseplayers are going to kill you
and they turn all the lights outand when they turn them back on
, the drunk guy is dead and hiswife is dead yeah, his character
is actually pretty funny in themovie, like he's like screaming
(53:50):
, you know, hell, yeah, brother,like I don't know, it's pretty.
Captain (53:54):
I wasn't mad about his
drunk character.
There's that old guy that umwas like uh, you know tim, you
know bernard is an ex-cop and hehas a gun on him and you know
you're thinking like shoot him.
Like why aren't you shootingthese, these people?
And um, some old guy walks outof the hotel and tries to grab
the gun from bernard to get someshots in um, but I think that
(54:17):
old guy also gets killed whilethe lights are out he does, yeah
, and I.
Wilson (54:21):
I think some lady
accidentally gets shot in the
foot or something.
Captain (54:27):
Is it the drunk guy's
wife?
Maybe Donna?
Wilson (54:30):
Yeah, I don't remember,
but anyway.
So the dad and Bernard hide andthey escape this initial thing
here, but I think, while this ishappening, this is what you
were saying that the mom, theysneak into her room and she's
dead and they use they like uh,what?
(54:50):
Like hereditary hanging in thetree house, like the solid or
neck.
Captain (54:54):
Basically, now she did.
She was also smart.
I really was expecting her tolive through all of this because
she was.
She seemed intelligent frombefore the kills started.
Um, and she, you know, I don'tknow, she just I think she gets
like barb wire across the throat.
Wilson (55:12):
I was just surprised she
was dead so early oh yeah, I
didn't think they'd kill her, orat least, yeah, definitely not
that I don't know if you noticed, but when they killed her she
was sitting in a chair reading abook that just said like satan
on the front oh, it's like what?
Captain (55:25):
yeah, we all commented
on it when we were watching the
movie.
We're like does that just saysatan?
But I think they were justhaving fun huh, okay um, yeah,
but yeah, the dad comes back tothe room and obviously he's
freaking out, right roy uh, hedoes eventually come back and he
like prevents his son fromseeing that.
Wilson (55:48):
But I think he does kind
of figure it out.
Captain (55:51):
Yeah, I mean Bernard
and him.
Take what's his name, kevin?
To a different hotel room andyou know, I think he figures, I
think he realizes something'swrong with his mom.
But they're like, you know, just sit here, you know, play on
your computer and don't openthe door for anybody except me,
and we're going to go figure outwhat's going on.
(56:12):
And then I think it's a littlebit later, but Kevin actually
gets to see the live streamcameras from his iPad.
Wilson (56:21):
He does.
He just joins the Wi-Fi.
Yeah, so he kind of knowswhat's going on dude, they
literally were like he hacked us.
I'm like he just joined thesame wi-fi yeah whoever wrote
this does not understand whathacking or wi-fi is no, it was
just yeah it was just silly, butat this point we know that
there are people virtuallywatching these kills and
(56:43):
basically bidding on what playercan kill all of them yeah, I
didn't quite understand themoney concept in the game.
Captain (56:49):
I was like so you kill
one, you and you survive, you
get money.
But you can like bet who wins, like who has, who survives, or
you know who has the most, likeyou can bet on, basically on
anything, I guess it seems likeit yeah, okay yeah, and there's
like a live stream like you'regetting on basically on anything
, I guess it seems like it.
Yeah, okay, yeah, and there'slike a live stream like you're
getting like the live chat um inlockwood's back room, as this
(57:11):
is going on, so we get to seethat as the audience um, and
then what?
Wilson (57:17):
at one point, I think,
um, the dad and bernard are, you
know, like exploring, trying tofigure things out, and I think
that bernard shoots one of theattackers, um, but then when
another one pins the dad, bernard's like oh yeah, actually
I'm not a yeah, he's like sorry.
Captain (57:39):
I think he is a retired
cop, but he just says sorry,
like I got my money that I camehere for yeah, so he was a
bidder yes, um, which honestly, the fact that he didn't shoot
during that meetup on the court.
I already thought I wassuspicious as hell.
I was like he's in on it 100,because why would you not shoot
when they literally told youit's time to play.
(57:59):
You are all going to be killedyeah, like why would you not
shoot, especially becausebernard even made a comment
about how he was on a case manyyears ago in a different city
that was very similar to this.
I'm like, okay, well, take thesafety off.
Wilson (58:16):
Like, get to it yeah, so
, um, basically, after this he
goes to try to make sure that,uh what, the kid died and the
dad because that way his bidwins.
Captain (58:30):
Yeah, he's the last one
to survive as a guest at the
hotel.
But before he gets to Lockwoodum, lockwood um gets mad that
Kevin quote unquote hacked them.
So he goes and steals Kevin.
I think, um, but I think Kevingets away from him and now
Kevin's like running around thehotel just hiding from the
killers.
I believe, yes.
Wilson (58:53):
And at one point Bernard
makes it to like the control
room and he, like everyone, thinks he won because it looked
like the dad died, so he waslike rejoicing that he won all
his money.
Captain (59:04):
Yeah, it looked like
player one died, um, so he was
like originally seeing that, yeah, it looks like player one
or player three, or player, yeah, two or three, I think it looks
like it stabs roy, um, and thenit's like part of it happens
off camera, but you still, yeah, you assume he's dead and then,
so you see, um, then lockwoodcomes in behind bernard and
basically starts to kill himbecause he's like you broke the
(59:26):
rules, you interfered to make it, so your bid won.
Wilson (59:31):
Uh, so he's getting
punched for that.
But basically, while he's dying, um lockwood points out or
notices that the dad did not getkilled, he just put on number
one's uniform.
So he's still alive.
And yeah, he wouldn't havegotten the money anyway yes,
yeah.
Captain (59:48):
So yeah, I don't do we.
I don't know if we find out howhe survives, but I guess he
just, you know, overpowersnumber one and then just, yeah,
really smart for him to put onthe uniform.
But yeah, he just puts on thatclothing and then he goes to
find where his son, kevin, went, and kevin's almost about to be
killed by player two, um, butbecause he, like you know,
pretends he's teaming up withplayer two and like gonna work
(01:00:10):
with him to kill the kid, um,but then he intervenes and gets
kevin out of there, um, it was agood trick too no, it was good,
um, so I can't remember.
And what happens after that?
The two of them get out ofthere.
Wilson (01:00:27):
Oh yeah, they almost
make it out yeah.
Captain (01:00:30):
Lockwood reveals that
he's like the witch, not witch
doctor.
What is that?
Plague doctor, and he's stillalive.
Wilson (01:00:40):
Yes.
Captain (01:00:40):
Remember in the lobby
that Taylor comes back.
Wilson (01:00:43):
Yes, yeah.
So she's like back at the hotelnow because she wanted to come
back and roy's still in disguise.
Yes, player one, but I thinkwhat, right before that they do
kill lockwood well, yeah, itseems like they killed him, yeah
yeah, um.
And then she comes in.
Look, you think everyone's fineand like blood spurts out of
(01:01:04):
the dad's mouth because Taylorcame up behind him thinking he
was a player and she killed himand I'm like yeah, it was an
accident, but this daughter, she's the worst daughter in
person.
Captain (01:01:18):
She kills the dad, like
as the dad is comforting Kevin,
being like we made it.
And then he's like, and then helike, then he like, is you know
, coughing up blood in kevin'sface.
I'm like, dear lord, the trauma, trauma would be brutal.
Um, and then, on top of that, lockwood's not even dead, I
think he.
He pops back up and, uh, taylorfinally beheads him with a
(01:01:41):
hatchet.
Um, but it's not good for kevin, dude, he's not gonna have a
good time no, it's actually likein the final scene.
Wilson (01:01:50):
Oh sorry, continue, I
was gonna say at this point, all
of the players have died.
Captain (01:01:55):
We haven't mentioned
all of them, but like, oh yeah,
there was yeah, there was liketwo or three other rooms of
people, but, um, yeah, so kevinand taylor are the only ones
that make it out.
Um, but the final scene withthe ambulance stuff.
I thought that was pretty cooluh, do you remember that what I
mean I remember them gettingcoffee or something, but that
was it well, they get in theback of an ambulance and one of
(01:02:17):
the paramedics that are thereyou can see that he was watching
the stream the whole time andhe was like he was like I won
some money or something.
Wilson (01:02:25):
You're like damn a
paramedic um, yeah, so like
everyone's in on the game, yeah, like a lot of people are in it,
yeah, and then after that iswhen you get the um, is it a
mid-credit?
Captain (01:02:39):
is tony todd stuff in
mid-credit or is that?
Oh no, is that before that?
Wilson (01:02:44):
um, it was before that,
I think yeah yeah, so like yeah,
yeah, and basically it was likethis monologue by Tony Todd
about like the purpose of thegame and such.
Captain (01:02:59):
It was very like lofty
or I don't know yeah, I can't
remember what he says, but themonologue, I mean it monologues,
a good word for it.
But yeah, he just goes into howTaylor and Kevin are the
winners.
I don't know how they get theircash.
And then maybe they don't justthe people that betted.
And then, yeah, like they'reabout to set up a new game and
(01:03:19):
you know they're doing thisbecause people like to watch it
and win money.
Wilson (01:03:25):
Yes, and then we see
like the final scene, and I
thought this actually went onfor a long time.
Captain (01:03:31):
The mid-credit one.
Wilson (01:03:32):
Yeah, yeah, like I think
the last one we see, which is
the new setup, and I was like Iwas thinking I still have not
seen Tim Curry in this movie.
Captain (01:03:43):
Yeah, I was thinking
the same thing.
To be honest, we saw Tony Todd.
I was happy about that.
Wilson (01:03:47):
Yeah, I was like was he
somehow a player, but so this is
at a movie theater.
Some new characters are beingintroduced, but I'm like you're
spending a lot of time on thesecharacters.
But anyway, you see a differentor head guy like of this
betting organization or whatever, and he has a mask on and it's
(01:04:09):
tim curry's voice, or at leastI'm pretty sure it was yeah, no,
it is tim curry's verse.
Captain (01:04:14):
I don't remember what
he says besides something along
the lines of like it's time toplay, or you know, yeah, just
like a, basically you're fucked,I guess yeah, uh, I yeah I was
a little.
I yeah they really should have, like, maybe downplayed the tim
curry stuff a little bit yeahcompared to what they did um.
Wilson (01:04:36):
But I think that's the
final scene yeah, uh, I'm gonna,
I'll jump into some numbers.
Captain (01:04:46):
Yeah, uh, I'm gonna,
I'll jump into some numbers
first, oh yeah, which leads meinto a piece of hot goss.
Okay, I don't know, did you?
I didn't pull any box officestuff.
I don't know if there is stuffuh, I didn't either.
Wilson (01:04:55):
I see, it was crowd
streamy.
Captain (01:04:57):
Well, it.
Wilson (01:05:06):
Oh yeah, the topic, the
release.
It was supposed to betheatrical but it only got video
on demand.
Captain (01:05:14):
Because it didn't have
enough.
Wilson (01:05:17):
I don't know why.
It said it was announced to betheatrically released in August,
but then it was just releaseddigitally on demand.
Okay, it came out in two monthslater well, it ended up coming
out two months later oh okay orsomething.
Yeah, I don't know, it was odd,um, but that'll lead me to some
(01:05:39):
well, a couple hot goss, Iguess.
Captain (01:05:43):
Um, actually some of
these don't look that
interesting I mean, I found alittle bit, but that's all I
really found there's the one Imentioned earlier, just with
like tim curry and tim reedjoined like being in the same,
oh, from the it series, but theyweren't even in the same scene.
Wilson (01:06:03):
so no.
I mean, were they?
Captain (01:06:06):
really united if Tim
Curry wasn't on set.
Wilson (01:06:10):
True.
Captain (01:06:13):
I mean, I just you know
, the producers and crew members
of Stream were previouslyinvolved in a lot of stuff
already, like the Terrifiermovies, the Rob Zombie stuff.
A lot of it was People hadalready worked together and then
I did see that in June 2025 itwas announced that Stream 2 was
in the works, the sequel.
(01:06:34):
I guess, and this is also one ofdamn man.
This is also one of Tony Chow'slast films before he died.
So this came out august 21st.
It says august 21st 2024.
Tim curry or not tim curry.
Tony todd died, uh, november 6,2024.
(01:06:55):
So like what?
Six weeks later?
Wilson (01:06:59):
I wonder when they
filmed it yeah, that that's true
.
Captain (01:07:02):
I don't know when they
filmed, but it was like
literally one of his last movies.
Wilson (01:07:09):
Wow, I guess Final.
Captain (01:07:10):
Destination too.
Wilson (01:07:12):
It was okay.
I did find that they said inSeptember 2021 that over 90% of
the movie was already shot.
Captain (01:07:19):
Yeah, I feel like Dee
Wallace told us about it.
That's why.
Wilson (01:07:22):
Oh, wow, okay, so this
was a while before Tony Todd
died.
Captain (01:07:25):
Okay, but what about
the Final Destination?
Because I feel like that mighthave been filmed more recently.
Oh yeah, yeah.
Wilson (01:07:32):
I think, that's
definitely true.
Captain (01:07:35):
Yeah, so I don't, you
know, hate this movie.
I don't understand the ratingsthat it has.
What's going on there?
Wilson (01:07:47):
all right, you're saying
, you're telling me that this
rotten tomatoes is accuratethat's what it says so you're
telling me, critics gave this a95 and audience gave it 93 I.
Captain (01:08:00):
You can double check me
, I swear, that's what it says I
don't, I don't understand whowho are the critics?
Yeah, who I don't I mean, Ihave it up right now.
That's what it says.
Critics gave this thing a 95.
Wilson (01:08:17):
Audience score was a 93
I don't know, man, this is I I
mean you know the movie is.
Captain (01:08:31):
I think it doesn't take
itself too seriously, which
definitely helps fine 95 iscrazy dude, I don't know that's,
that's, yeah, I, I don't know.
I don't know.
I mean, I'm trying to look atlike what I mean.
What do they say?
Wilson (01:08:49):
like some of these are
like basically saying they know
what, they know what type ofmovie they are and they're just
embracing it like yeah, if youknow what to expect when you
walk in, you'll have a good time.
Captain (01:09:01):
It says some of these
are like stream.
Is not, you know, the thenormal formula for one of these
movies?
It it swings hard and has ablast doing it.
It says an intriguing premise.
I mean, there are other moviesthat like kill on camera.
Wilson (01:09:20):
Um yeah, it definitely
has a sense of humor.
Captain (01:09:23):
Yeah, so with a 95 and
a 93, where are you landing here
?
Wilson (01:09:31):
I mean, my letterbox was
a two, oh yeah, and one of
those stars I said was devotedto Jeffrey Combs, so it was an
interesting concept, that'sLockwood, yeah.
But I didn't like it and also Ifelt like it was 30 minutes too
long.
Captain (01:09:50):
I remember when I was
watching it being like, okay,
there's a little bit of lullsbetween some of the kills and
then sometimes the kills arereally fast and I wish it was a
little bit more even.
Wilson (01:10:00):
Yeah, when I was at the
halfway mark I was like, come on
.
Captain (01:10:04):
Some scenes are slow
and then some scenes you're like
I got yiddies in my face for 15minutes.
It's like I don't know wherewe're landing here.
I didn't rate this onLetterboxd yet I don't think,
but I think.
Oh no, I did rate this.
Wow, I rated this higher thanwhat I I'm going to push that
down just a smidge I rated thathigher than what I remember
(01:10:27):
reading that.
Yeah, I'd give it like a threeon Letterboxd, I think.
Wilson (01:10:30):
Okay, what percentage is
?
Captain (01:10:34):
that it has a storyline
.
Dee Wallace is in there, tonyTodd's in there.
It's a little gory for myliking, a little too gory.
Um, I think, yeah, I'd givethat movie like, yeah, like a 60
(01:10:55):
60 is good.
Wilson (01:10:57):
I gave it a 35 damn.
I was not pleased.
Captain (01:11:02):
Really Like at all.
Wilson (01:11:07):
It was fine, I just got
bored.
Captain (01:11:10):
Okay, I'll take the
board.
That's fine.
Wilson (01:11:13):
Did you have a razor
glass?
Captain (01:11:15):
Oh, I think I do have a
razor glass actually, so I
think my razor glass is Okay.
One of the kills we didn't talkabout there's like a group of
kids in one of the rooms where Idon't know if they're a
throuple, I don't know if it'stwo girls and their gay best
(01:11:37):
friend.
I don't know what's going onthere, but they get killed.
You know, in a hallway,whatever.
But the man that they're with, they like crucify him, they like
nail his hands and his legsdown.
And then one of the what is it?
Player like two and four orsomething, two and three.
They are supposedly brother andsister murderers, so they like
(01:12:00):
work together it kind of isgiving like Harley Quinn.
Anyway, they decide to rip hisshirt open and they make a
tic-tac-toe board on his chestand they're playing tic-tac-toe
on him while he's like bleedingout slowly.
Wilson (01:12:14):
Yes.
Captain (01:12:15):
And it's just so
dramatic.
Wilson (01:12:17):
And they've been doing
it for so long.
Captain (01:12:19):
It's just like, but it
is creative.
I have not seen that before, soI think I would give that my
raise the glass.
Or the drunk guy yelling at hiswife.
I think part of that scene mademe laugh, when he was like
drunkenly, oh yeah, because hesays like hey, these are you
know.
He's like, she's like you know.
Donna comes out, she's like youknow.
Whatever his name is in themovie, what's his name?
(01:12:40):
Joe or something?
Uh, no, dan.
She's like dan, what the fuckare you doing?
Like it's time to go to bed.
And he's like hey, these are mynew friends.
Uh, roy and bernard, no, it'sjust like.
He literally just like learnedtheir names right now.
And he says something about howlike roy has has like some dumb
(01:13:02):
kid or something, and I don'tknow.
That scene made me laugh, but Ithink the tic-tac-toe would be
my actual rag if I had to choose.
What about you?
Wilson (01:13:14):
um well, the scene that
shocked me the most was like
slamming this guy's head into ajoystick controller or his
eyeball.
But in general I just reallylike jeffrey combs, so I'd say
in general he's my razor glassokay, you love the general razor
glass just always raised if itdoesn't.
(01:13:34):
Well, I need to get betterabout picking a scene.
While I'm watching a movie.
I'm like this is my razor glassI try, I have tried.
Captain (01:13:41):
I feel like I've gotten
really good at that because
I've actually put the effortinto checking.
Wilson (01:13:47):
I'm sorry.
Captain (01:13:49):
I mean, if you really
want to know, if I really want
to brag, I literally put thedigital highlighter on my rag in
my notes.
Wilson (01:13:56):
Fine, I'll consider it
for next time.
Captain (01:14:00):
Okay, oh, I don't know
if you we we talked about it
briefly, but do you rememberwhat we're doing next time?
This is a your pick oh, we'redoing.
Uh, let me try to remember thename myself, um it's like um
super nope, sorority, boloramasorority.
Wilson (01:14:23):
Bola-rama.
Captain (01:14:25):
Sorority Babes in the
Slime Ball Bola-rama.
Wilson (01:14:29):
From 1988.
Captain (01:14:31):
And this is based off
of that other 80s movie we did
where they're singing in themirror witch house.
What's happening in that movie, remember they like there's
ghost slime.
Wilson (01:14:43):
That wasn't Night of the
Demons, was it?
Was it Night of the Demons?
Was it?
Was it Night?
Captain (01:14:46):
of the Demons, maybe
when they're like.
They go to an abandoned houseand they like play music and
dance around.
Yeah, something's killing them.
Wilson (01:14:54):
I think that was.
I think that is what that is.
Captain (01:14:57):
Oh yeah, it was a
Halloween movie we did.
Wilson (01:15:00):
It was on Halloween.
Yes, yeah, yeah.
Captain (01:15:07):
Yeah, it was on
halloween.
Yes, yeah, yeah, yeah.
So this is in response towatching that movie.
Um, I did check to make surethis movie is streamable,
