They give off that.

He's in there, puts down.

Speaker 4 (00:44):
I have never been bedroom to be on the air
with you here.
Speaker 2 (00:48):
In Indianapolis, a place where so many of my dreams
have come true.
Speaker 7 (00:51):
The ride with JMV on ninety three five and one
oh seven five, the fan.
Speaker 8 (00:57):
All right, let's get started from a legendary location.
Speaker 4 (01:00):
I absolutely love it.
Speaker 8 (01:01):
One of my favorite things to do when I come
to sam Silver Circle here on Fletcher and Shelby is
to go around, and I have over the years when
we've done shows, I have put stickers up here of
myself and I love because I don't know if you
can see it right now if you're streaming online or
checking it out inside the Triple A Membership Lounge via
YouTube live, but there is a very famous or infamous
(01:24):
if you're me JMV sucks sticker of me in nineteen
eighty three rock in my Actually that may be nineteen
eighty two, but I think it's eighty three. My five
slam a Jama T shirt for the Houston Cougars back then.
And I've got maybe the tightest pair of grape smugglers.
Speaker 4 (01:46):
On of all time.
Speaker 8 (01:48):
And I swear to you if you get closer, and
I don't know if you want to if you get closer.
Falan Watson is the onside engineer with us today. It
looks like I'm trying to smuggle on the right side
of my body. Very small chapstick right there. It's very
The grape smugglers are as profound as you might think
(02:09):
from the mid nineteen eighties right there. But I like
to go around and look for the stickers up on
the wall. And here's what I also love to do.
Because we know when it's a bud Light Blue Friday
at Sam Silver Circle again Fletcher and Shelby is our location,
we have tickets to give away. So we have five
pair of Cardinals Colts tickets to give away for you
(02:32):
over the course of the afternoon. Thanks to our friends
from bud Lights and Zinc they will be here too,
But five pair, I think one pair is that right?
Five pair?
Speaker 4 (02:42):
All right?
Speaker 6 (02:42):
Five pair?
Speaker 8 (02:43):
One pair is going to go with the football toss
out there, Bud You come by and get yourself signed
up and you've made really and then you can maybe
talk to me into going to Bulls Eye as well.
You never know, with the pregame party as well coming
up on Sunday. But your opportunity is really good at
just one of the legendary locations here, not just in
(03:05):
Indianapolis or not just in downtown or in the area,
but in the state of Indiana. There is so much
incredible history here. I would love to see you. If
you've not been here before, please stop by Sam Silver
Circle on a bud Light blue Friday and know this
to be true. Their pizza is also legendary here. And
(03:30):
a shout out to Fulton, who already called James the
house phone a little bit earlier today to talk with me.
So I thought maybe he was gonna order a pizza,
but it was a Fulton calling me on the house
phone as he normally does. That has become routine here
at Sam Silver Circle on a bud light Blue Friday guys,
thank you for joining us, and we'll go over all
that is happening with the Colts those that return to
(03:52):
practice today, and we've got a lot of conversation to
hit here. This is one note, and I do belie
leave this to be a big deal, and not that
often you look at components of this team not to
be big deals. But to me, Alec Pierce is because
all that we have loved regarding Daniel Jones so far,
and he has been outstanding. Certainly one of these sort
(04:15):
of comings that people believe is being able to get
the ball down the field, the deep ball, and even
if he doesn't have the strongest arm in the world,
which hasn't mattered one out so far to everybody out
there that thought that that would be the case, it
hasn't mattered.
Speaker 4 (04:34):
But he does have a deep ball threat in terms.
Speaker 8 (04:40):
Of Alec Pierce, and what I'm talking about is the
deep ball, throwing the jump ball, which Ali Pierce is
so damn good at going up to get so Alec
Pierce concussion protocol. We thought maybe he would clear that
last week later portions of the week had had some
(05:00):
signs that maybe he was not over it. Yet, so
he did not participate in that game last week against
the Raiders. Both he and Grover Stewart are practicing today.
Shane Steiken said that Alec Pierce with his concussion protocol,
has passed it and he will be available against the
(05:22):
Cardinals coming up on Sunday.
Speaker 4 (05:24):
So that offensively is outstanding news.
Speaker 8 (05:27):
Meantime, cornerback Kenny Moore second and Achilles running back Tyler Goodson,
I think has a growing situation. They have both been
ruled out. Joe Botchi, the linebacker, he went on IR
and there was really no explanation behind that. It was
really quickly done as they brought in Jermaine Pratt earlier
this week, the former lou Anroumo linebacker. While in Cincinnati.
(05:51):
Bacci landed on IR due to a foot injury situation.
So we'll see what that goes. As both Pierce and
Stewart we're back practicing today and that part really looks good.
The other part that looks good is twofold here. We're
going to keep an eyeball on the situation with Kyler
Murray out in Arizona as well. We know the backup
(06:14):
as Jacoby Brissett. We do know as we talked about yesterday.
Jacoby Brissett does have a win most recently, and that
was against a low and aroumo defensive team, So I
guess that is something to note. But if you've watched
the way this Cardinals team has played, it's weird because
(06:35):
in late game situations they have completely screwed it up,
as we have witnessed, and that's what has dug them
such a significant hole to this point of the season
right now. I mean really screwed, think messed things up
in a major fashion in these late game situations so far,
(06:57):
and that has been probably what has been noticed, maybe
more so than anything.
Speaker 6 (07:01):
Else, is that.
Speaker 8 (07:03):
But the other thing that I would suggest as well
is defensively, they're not that bad. Defensively, they don't look
that bad. But the Colts at home coming off a
forty six win last week over the Raiders, and they
have looked with the exception of things and what they
(07:24):
did to themselves against the Rams, they have looked outstanding
to start the season. Colts had a stretch last week
they scored tds on six consecutive possessions.
Speaker 4 (07:36):
Remember we had an.
Speaker 8 (07:37):
Argument or a debate regarding red zone opportunities.
Speaker 6 (07:41):
Have to get better.
Speaker 8 (07:42):
Certainly against the Raiders last week, they did get better,
and Daniel Jones has stayed very solid sixty nine percent
of his passes last week on his way to another
Colt's victory.
Speaker 6 (07:54):
I think I mentioned this Dad yesterday.
Speaker 8 (07:55):
Fifth of the league in completion percentage, third in passing
yards one overall with a seventy nine point seven ranking
in QBR and that is just exactly what this team
offensively needed and.
Speaker 4 (08:12):
What it wanted. That's what it got now the unfortunate portion.
Speaker 8 (08:19):
We'll see how this goes coming up on Sunday, because
you look at this team and how it operates, especially
around the fifty and how it's commonplace now as long
as you get to the fifty year quote in field
goal range. And maybe this didn't ultimately hold true for
Spencer Srader, but let's just face it, he's been very
good so far, been very reliable, and that has been
(08:41):
somebody that has been something you could count on.
Speaker 4 (08:45):
And now that's gone for the season.
Speaker 8 (08:48):
ACL and mcl injuries costs Rader his season. We know
that the coltsign Michael badgely to sustain here moving forward
with that kicking role. Now his career eighty two point
four percent. That is what he has done as a kicker.
(09:10):
The problem is, as I mentioned, how you mad had
to change your philosophy when you get around midfield, is
that he has struggled over forty plus yards sixty eight
percent of field goals thirty eight percent, mind you where really,
let's face.
Speaker 6 (09:29):
It, you have to be money. You have to be money.
Speaker 8 (09:32):
From fifty plus now thirty eight percent from fifty plus,
which this is something we'll have to watch, but that
is certainly a problematic Again, Straighter, I don't know how
much you would count on him hitting from fifty, but
let's just face it, he's been really good so far
without question. Now, the Colt Seinn linebacker, as I mentioned earlier,
(09:54):
Jermain Pratt. This week, he was released by the Raiders,
spent his first six years with lou Anroumo and the Bengals.
So he takes the spot of Joe Bachi, where clearly
the Colts needed an upgrade at that particular linebacker position,
opposite of Zaire Franklin. And we'll see if they can't
give him, and I mean give him anything whatsoever, give
(10:15):
this team anything whatsoever at that position.
Speaker 6 (10:18):
And I've said this before.
Speaker 8 (10:19):
Yeah, I don't mind you giving it a shot, because
I mean, what else do you have to ask? The
thing that I kind of wonder is I understand how
you want to go with those that you have played
with or coached in the past.
Speaker 1 (10:32):
Right.
Speaker 6 (10:32):
I guess it makes sense.
Speaker 8 (10:34):
But it is a familiar tactic that lou An Roumo
and the Colts have utilized with this particular defense. So
they'll do it again with Jermaine Pratt, the linebacker released
by the Raiders, so we can hit that. Chris Hagen's
going to join us. Coming up a little bit later
on of Fox fifty nine. We've got Cardinals Colts conversation.
It's funny. I was actually talking a little bit earlier
(10:57):
about this game. Defensively, the Cardinals are pretty good. They
can be good, and they're a lot better. You may
look around their roster and not recognize a lot of
these names other than maybe Kalis Campbell or Buddha Baker,
but this group is pretty good. It is so ridiculous
when you think about what it didn't accomplish last week
(11:20):
against the Titans. Had they not had that ridiculous situation
on dropping the football before you score a touchdown, and
then the interception that turned into a fumble that ultimately
had the Cardinals kick it into the end zone and
the Titans getting an incredibly cheap touchdown. If not for that,
(11:41):
the Cardinals beat the Titans by three scores at home,
which is entirely what you would expect. But they have
not just last week, but here recently, done to themselves
when other teams up until the fourth quartering games were
unable to do. They are beating themselves and that has
(12:02):
certainly been problematic. I often wonder this the whole dynamic,
and maybe it's overblown, and it probably is because it
does come down to personnel. But you have two guys
that are very familiar with one another, one offensive, one defensive,
as head coach is Shane Steikin of the Colts and
Jonathan Jannon of the Cardinals. You know, Ganna is the
(12:23):
defensive coordinator with the Eagles. You know Stikan is the
offensive coordinator with the Eagles. So this kind of has
a meaning coming up on Sunday with these two teams
in mind. We'll see if it plays a role, because again,
it does come down to players, and obviously there's a
lot going on right now with the Cardinals. There may
(12:44):
not be a team out there. I'm sure that there
is and that's easy to find that is in need
of a win and to get back on the winning
track like the Cardinals.
Speaker 6 (12:53):
I just don't see that happening.
Speaker 8 (12:55):
I think this is a game to where we've seen
the free flowing offense of the Colts, especially against the Raiders,
feel good. And while that made you, the fans putting
forty up on the board, feel really good. You talk
about those six straight possessions. You talked about the fluidity
in which that they played offensively and put it in
the end zone, and that margin to victory even against a.
Speaker 6 (13:18):
Raider team that's not any good.
Speaker 8 (13:20):
There are similar i think signs with the Raiders and
the Cardinals. And then you get the Titans coming up
next week, and I'll check that, I'm sorry, the Titans
in two weeks and the Chargers coming up next week,
and the Chargers have been struggling recently as well.
Speaker 6 (13:36):
We know that to be true.
Speaker 8 (13:37):
So yeah, you have a substantial opportunity to take advantage
with this portion of the schedule, and we should mention
that some games down the road things.
Speaker 4 (13:47):
Will tighten up a little bit.
Speaker 8 (13:49):
Here the competition will be a little bit more stiff,
certainly for the Colts. So those out there that credit
this Colts four and one start entirely on what they.
Speaker 4 (14:01):
Have witnessed with the competition or lack thereof.
Speaker 8 (14:07):
That to me is worth noting because it does get
stiff a little bit later on in the season when
we'll see how the role plays as far as injuries
are concerned and such. But that is the start today
with the Cardinals and the colt We have five pair
of tickets to give away to you. Sam Silver Circle
(14:29):
at Fletcher and Shelby just here around Fountain Square in
this particular location has been here forever at his legendary
and friend from Bud Lighter here, we cannot wait to
see you over the course of the afternoon. I should
remind you that we have another high school football Friday night.
This is also notoriously a big time Cathedral hangout. So
(14:51):
we know Cathedral coming off a great win over Center
Grove last week, feeling really good. But we'll talk about
that and more with Bob Lovell coming up at the
bottom of the hour from Indiana Sports talk about this
Friday night of high school football. I also should remind
you of this. The Pairing Show is coming up on Sunday.
(15:12):
So that's how you know what's up, Kim. That's how
you know that things are right and good to go.
The Pairing Show is coming up on Sunday, that reminder
of what is going to be an incredibly busy weekend
of sports. And yes, I have to mention what's coming
up tomorrow. We know Purdue, Minnesota, Ball State, Western Michigan.
(15:33):
Thank you, my brother. I appreciate that. I'm going to
start in right now if you don't mind NC State
and number sixteen Notre Dame. But it is across the
college football landscape, one of the if not the best matchup.
And as I mentioned to Jake a little bit earlier,
I think there's good and there's bad because you get
(15:53):
sick and tired of being characterized, you know, as the
team that nobody believes in, or just getting lucky.
Speaker 4 (16:00):
I will say this, if people would like to say.
Speaker 8 (16:02):
Hey, you're just lucky in your twenty five year, that's fine.
Speaker 6 (16:05):
I'll take it. I will take it.
Speaker 8 (16:09):
And I think that those like IU or the Pacers
or the Colts off to a four and one start,
if you're just lucky and it's more about the schedule
you take it. But what that also I think provides
for teams like you is a great deal of motivation
and useful tactics that Kurt Signetti has been very good
(16:31):
at utilizing in his short time in Bloomington and really
over his career so far. That last up at James
Madison being able to the US against the world mentality
when it's real, not when it's BS and Noah, you
know what. Anybody can say it, but with IU football,
it's real. There's still a number of non believers out there,
(16:53):
non believers that they were a part of the playoffs
and they received a gift and it was an easy schedule.
You are constantly, if you EYEU football, trying to make believers,
are trying to reprove yourself. I'm not suggesting they look
at themselves in the mirror and feel that it's necessary,
but let's just face it, the overall nationwide conversation is
(17:13):
just like what we hear regarding the Pacers, what we
heard last year, what we heard going into the postseason,
what we heard into the finals, what we hear about
the Pacers going into this year with the injury to
Halli burden and the defection of Miles Turner is the
constant proving of themselves. The same thing holds true with
the Colts and their start. And as I mentioned to
(17:35):
Jake a little bit earlier, I think that that is
an incredibly useful tactic.
Speaker 4 (17:41):
Kurt Signetti utilizes it.
Speaker 8 (17:43):
You know, we have talked about Aaron Nee Smith brought
that up and the Pacer media day last week. That's
something they're going to be able to utilize this season
that works.
Speaker 6 (17:53):
I mean, the Colts can use it. If you want
to use it.
Speaker 8 (17:55):
You could talk about just how easy the schedule has been.
The problem is you can't change it up. You can't
substitute what you would clarify or or again in this page,
in your opinion. If it is clear one team is
better than the other, you can't sub them in. You
got to play the schedule that's in front of you.
But being able to utilize that as a level of
(18:17):
motivation I think is important. I think we saw that
a year ago with the Pacers. I think we're going
to see that this year with the Paces, and I
think we continue to see that with IU. And why
I mentioned that because when they take on number three
Oregon and Eugene. There is now one person out there
that believes that they were going to win, and that
probably includes all of us fast, athletic talented at home.
(18:39):
They can't bring offense on you in an absolute landslide.
Will I you be able to sustain, and by sustaining
here be able to keep up the pace. You keep
up that offensive pace. You do to them what they
offensively believe they're going to try to execute with relative
(19:01):
ease against you.
Speaker 6 (19:03):
You do that to them, and then you make them
nervous in their own house about what's going on. Well,
wait a minute, what about this team hanging in here?
What about this quarterback? What about this offense? What about
the surrat guy who is always open? And then you
know what, You keep tight with the football, you don't
(19:26):
turn it over. See if you can maybe make Oregon
sweat it out at home. That's what you like about
that matchup.
Speaker 8 (19:33):
I think what I like more so than anything else
about it is it is a tremendous gauge. They're gonna
find out exactly where you are at this point of
the season, and really, you look at it all the
way around, you want to go out there and you
win and that's what matters.
Speaker 6 (19:49):
But you will have other opportunities.
Speaker 8 (19:51):
It's not like you have this game on your home
field and if you get your doors blown off, everybody's
going to write you off.
Speaker 4 (19:59):
I mean, as long it is, you keep this, I'm
not suggesting it all.
Speaker 8 (20:03):
You're going to play it to maintain a level of
competition with Oregon.
Speaker 4 (20:07):
But if you can be what you have been at,
stay competitive here.
Speaker 8 (20:13):
I hate saying house money or having your cake or
egoto or any of those particular cliches, but that's another
feel good. If this thing is tight, pressure will be
on the Quacks and Eugene coming up tomorrow, and hopefully
ay you can do that. Two thirty of your coverage,
begins Don Fisher, Voice of the Hoosiers ninety three WIBC.
(20:34):
I believe the travel time to Eugene that has compromised
our conversation at five o'clock.
Speaker 6 (20:40):
Today, which would be unfortunate.
Speaker 8 (20:42):
I know Charles Arbuckle is going to join us, not
only talking about the game with the Colt and the
Cardinals coming up on Sunday, but also with his knowledge
of college football, his breakdown of college football. We will
specifically talk about IU and Oregon coming up with Charles
that is in the five o'clock hour from ESPN Radio.
Mike Well rejoins us coming up in the four o'clock hour.
(21:03):
As I mentioned, Chris Hagen is going to be here
as well. I am so excited about being back at
sam Silver Circle, just off the Fountain Square, Fletcher and
Shelby on a bud light blue Friday. We have the
ice cold bud light going and five pair of Cardinals
Colts tickets to give away. I should mention this from
last night too, the error at the end of the
(21:27):
Pills and the Dodgers game. Man, that is what happens,
is it not when you bubble and you freak out.
I'm surprised that stuff. Honestly, I'm surprised that stuff doesn't
happen more. You're going to say, well, these guys are professionals,
they should be better, and while you're absolutely right, I'm
(21:51):
sure that stuff like that, I'm surprised that it doesn't
happen more, because there was an absolute freak out last night.
Speaker 6 (22:05):
I mean, Cookering.
Speaker 8 (22:07):
You could just tell the moment that he bobbled that
comebacker from Pahes, you knew he was in trouble. And
real Muto was actually as a catcher will do, was
pointing for him to go to first base, and he
had plenty of time to go to.
Speaker 6 (22:26):
First base, but he went home.
Speaker 8 (22:30):
And if you look behind him, you see the reaction
of the infielders.
Speaker 6 (22:35):
I think Trey.
Speaker 8 (22:36):
Turner was one of them, and you see their reaction
with their hens on their head because you saw the
catcher pointing to first and then the pitcher comes home
and even if it were a good throw, it was
not going to beat the runner. And that's how the
Phillies lose and then knocked out and on to the
(22:58):
NLCS once again, the LA Dodgers, and they await a
decisive Game five. Joey ericson gonna join us coming up
at four o'clock today, James, is that correct? That is correct,
noted Brewers fan, and we'll find out if he's nervous.
(23:18):
The Cubs did exactly what the Cubs needed to do,
and then last night they left no doubt at Wrigley
Field in Chicago, and a game number four, decisive Game
five coming up tomorrow from Milwaukee. Joel's going to talk
about the Colts and then add to that, I'm sure
coming up you do have one decisive game five and
the Alds later off tonight. That is the Tigers and
(23:42):
the Mariners from Seattle as the Blue Jays await their
competition in the ALCS.
Speaker 6 (23:49):
H right, two three, nine, ten seven, he has that number.
Speaker 8 (23:52):
I'm gonna go ahead and fire up the text line

the JMV takeover. However, I don't know if grant Lee
Buffalo is a one hit wonder, And of course I
just handed that to you, James. No, I can't think
about it. I don't think it's a one hit wonder.
I will say this though, James, I absolutely love this song.
(26:31):
Crack this up just a second, would you? Good God,
does anybody remember the song from the nineteen nineties, Grant
Lee Buffalo A I alone.
Speaker 6 (26:43):
I'm gonna tell you what.
Speaker 8 (26:44):
This seems like, Sam Silver Circle, seems like a place
that might be rocking Grant Lee Buffalo a little bit
later on, just.
Speaker 6 (26:49):
Because of that right here.
Speaker 8 (26:51):
So I don't think that's a one hit wonder, but
it's close enough, close enough in the alternative format from
the nineteen nineties, Sam Silver Circle bud Light Blue for
I had a five pair of Cardinals Colts tickets we
shall give away. We are so glad you're here. Now
I'm going to start this appropriately enough. Bob Lovell of
Indiana Sports Talk. That's tonight tomorrow night on stations across
(27:15):
the state of India, great stations like WITZ AM and
FM Jasper Huntingburg, which I listened to on Tuesday when
I was down in Jasper.
Speaker 6 (27:25):
You can listen to it.
Speaker 8 (27:26):
There state wide with all your favorite stations. Bob Lovell
joins us. Now I should appropriately enough. I'm at a
cathedral bar, right, That's where I am, Sam Silver Circle.
Did I get a boo? That's the first time I've
ever heard that. Now I'm at a cathedral bar. They're
on the road at Covington, Kentucky. So I don't know
how much Cathedral will rep in this place. But man,
(27:48):
coming off a fantastic win on the road at Senegrove
and Cathedral at five and two. Bob back on the
road in Covington, Kentucky coming up later on this evening.
Speaker 5 (28:00):
Well, I think it shows you the quality of the team.
They played a great team, obviously on the road and
with a big win. They played a tremendous schedule, evidenced
by the fact that they're in Kentucky tonight, and so
you know they I mean, Coach Peebles is as good
as the gets, Coach Moores as good as the get.
So that matchup was a tremendous one tonight. But Cathedral
(28:22):
is clearly one of those top four or five teams
in five A that has a legitimate chance to win
a championship.
Speaker 8 (28:29):
So Bob Lovell of Indiana Sports Talk with US six
eight Brownsburg, seven and zero at Noblesville the Miller's one
in six this season so far. Meantime, your two other
seven and ohs Crown Point at five A Chesterton and
seven and oh Pen their rank fourth at for a
new Prairie. My question is do you think Crown Point.
(28:53):
I guess we will have to see it at some
point one of the two from up north if they
end up making it. But do you think crownp one
in penn for example, would you put them in a
similar category as Brownsburg or Carmel or Center Grover Lawrence North.
Speaker 1 (29:07):
I put them not far away, uh.
Speaker 5 (29:10):
I think depending on where the game is played, field conditions,
those kinds of things.
Speaker 3 (29:14):
You know, the Penn Penn as.
Speaker 5 (29:16):
Has they started slowly, They've really played well lately. Uh,
Crown Point has been the class of the northern part
of the state and sixth eighty the entire year. Craig
Gazi is one of the best coaches in the States
ever seen. Uh, they're putting things together. They're a tough
minded group of guys. Play your hard defensively, grind it
out on you offensively. So, I mean, these are two
(29:38):
really good teams. John, I'm not so sure, you know,
in terms of who can play Brownsburg right now, they
you know, one of the year goes we know and
undefeated now, so I think in my mind they're kind
of the favors. But it's clearly I mean a a
Crown Point team that's really good and Penn Pennis Penn
(30:00):
they just Brandon new Devin new coach and they're playing
great football. And so I mean, as I mentioned, slow start,
but they're being penned right now.
Speaker 8 (30:08):
Hey, Bob Sinegrove and l N that's five and six
and six A and both teams are six and one.
That's at CG coming up later on tonight. I was there,
I was picking up my daughter last Friday, and you
could tell there was a great deal I can't imagine
in the locker room with Eric Moore, but there was
a great deal of disappointment in losing that game in
(30:31):
the fashion which they did with Cathedral. What do you
think about this six and one matchup to see if
CG can bounce back at home later off tonight, Well, clearly, I.
Speaker 1 (30:42):
Think they're going to be motivated.
Speaker 3 (30:43):
I don't think there's any any question about that.
Speaker 5 (30:46):
I think Lawrence Orthan has been a tremendous story Johns.
We talked about him earlier, and they have some talented
guys and they just continued to play and play well.
This in my mind, this is the best game of
the state tonight. This is a tremendous matchup of two
teams that they happen to be one of the most
difficult classes out there. But I think it's I think
(31:07):
it's a great matchup and I hope the weather holds
off and everybody's able to watch a tremendous football game.
Speaker 8 (31:14):
Fishers in Westfield, Bob also at sixth A, that's a
hell of a matchup.
Speaker 6 (31:19):
Letter on tonight too.
Speaker 5 (31:21):
Westfield just continues to play solid football I mean change
your coaches. Josh Miracle is doing a fantastic job in
his first year.
Speaker 1 (31:29):
They haven't missed a beat.
Speaker 5 (31:30):
Quite frankly, I mean Fisher's you know, Hamilton County HC.
And Fisher's mantleman. They're incredibly talent, They're loaded. I think
this is your basic talks up. This is a great,
great game and wouldn't surprise me if it comes down
to the end.
Speaker 8 (31:47):
To Bob Lovel of Indiana Sports Talk, he's got you tonight,
He's got you tomorrow night. I've got people on the
text line of three point seven nine ten seventy wanting
me to have you talk up Kyle Rowley and the
seven to zero New Palace squad that he has against
Newcastle coming up later on tonight. I will say this,
(32:08):
I haven't seen Bloomington South, but you just kind of
wonder where newpal is compared to others. Now, I know,
Cathedral look tough, we mentioned that, but you got South
and you've got Cathedral, Lafayete Jeff East Central is always
kind of right there. Your Quakers are playing field. You
kind of wonder if maybe newpal may not be at
(32:30):
least an arms length ahead of some of these other
teams in their class right now.
Speaker 5 (32:36):
I would agree with that, and I think it's a
great description.
Speaker 1 (32:40):
You're talking about Kyle Ralph.
Speaker 5 (32:41):
I'm not sure there are enough superlatives to offer for
what he's done since he arrived. They've done nothing but
dominate whatever collapse they're in at that particular time. Multiple
state championships, you know, one a year ago.
Speaker 1 (32:54):
They listen.
Speaker 5 (32:56):
They are really really solid. They are a well put
together program. He is a tremendous leader, tremendous coach, and
so I think that's what makes him so so good.
South Bloomington South is playing well. I mean, the whole Bloomington,
the city of Bloomington's playing well quite frankly. So, yeah,
you need to talk about New Pound, blooton South Cathedral.
Speaker 1 (33:18):
Those are some.
Speaker 5 (33:19):
There's some really really solid team.
Speaker 3 (33:21):
Five A.
Speaker 8 (33:23):
So Bob Lovel of Indiana Sports Talk, Chitar's number one
and four A Bob at six and one and they
get six and one. Try West. That's a hell of
a matchup. Letter on tonight, buddy, Yeah it is.
Speaker 1 (33:36):
This Try West team has been real.
Speaker 5 (33:38):
You know, I suppose quiet in some respects, but they
just go along. As you point out, only lost one
ball game, and we all know about Start and they've reloaded.
But at Try West, that is a tremendous match up
that kind of reminds you of a semi state matchup
later on in the tournament.
Speaker 1 (33:58):
Uh.
Speaker 5 (33:58):
And both teams are playing obviously very very well.
Speaker 3 (34:02):
Uh for a you know they have to be.
Speaker 5 (34:05):
Harry Hills is one another one in there. You're talking
about balancing classes, John, you know sticks A five, A four,
a four. It's the same way as Stard East Nobles
a team that people haven't talked about. They haven't lost yet.
Harry Hills has lost one. Mister Walker is getting better,
Shilton Heights playing playing much better. So that's a great,
(34:26):
great matchup, Satard try with I'd love to watch that one.
Speaker 1 (34:30):
I'd love to see that tonight.
Speaker 4 (34:32):
No, I completely agree with you on that too.
Speaker 8 (34:35):
That is a tremendous game, Chuitard on the road at
Try West.
Speaker 4 (34:40):
Uh.
Speaker 8 (34:40):
This is when we get into some of the Southern
Indiana schools that are really good too. Class three A
number one at seven and zero, Evansville Memorial, Gibson Southern
at six and one. We know all about the Cascade
team here in Central Indiana. That's seven and O as well,
and a phenomenal player and just some eye popping numbers
going down at Knox for that seven zero team rank
(35:04):
fourth right now in three A.
Speaker 1 (35:05):
Bob, Well, no, you're right.
Speaker 5 (35:07):
Uh, and they you know, Knox is coached by Hall
of Fame coach Russ Radking. Their running back is just
as good as it gets.
Speaker 3 (35:18):
Uh.
Speaker 5 (35:18):
He's a phenomenally talented guy.
Speaker 3 (35:21):
You know.
Speaker 5 (35:21):
Uh, he's averaging something like, you know, four hundred almost
five hundred yards a game, and so he's just it's crazy.
Speaker 1 (35:28):
And what they're doing.
Speaker 5 (35:30):
But again, you know, it's one of those teams that's
built to win in October and November because they can
punish you with the ball in their hands. You mentioned Memorial.
Memorial is really you know, they wanted a year ago.
They're they're undefeated right now. Gibson Southern likes to throw
it with Nick Hart and his guys. Cats Cats really
(35:51):
really good. Uh. Mississina is another one you have to
think about. Or undefeated and have played really good football
this year. So three eight kind of like what we
talked about the others, is pretty pretty balanced class.
Speaker 4 (36:06):
Bob Lovel of Indiana Sports Talk.
Speaker 8 (36:08):
You got Dad and you have one helaciously awesome college
football game hopefully tomorrow, and Eugene, Oregon to keep track of.
Speaker 6 (36:16):
Don't you're going to be on top of all of
that this weekend.
Speaker 1 (36:19):
I hope so, John, I really do.
Speaker 5 (36:23):
But it's it's one of those great you know, you've
got a lot to talk about. You get the Pacers,
who are you know playing? You got college football colts
in and the Cardinals. Weekend of high school football tournament
starts soon obviously.
Speaker 1 (36:35):
So it's a great, great weekend. We hope everybody go
to a game.
Speaker 5 (36:40):
Uh, pay your pay your tick, buy your ticket to
support the school, get in your car afterwards, turn on
your radio, hit scan and you'll find us.
Speaker 6 (36:50):
It's that easy, is it not.
Speaker 8 (36:52):
It's that easy, is buddy? I love having you on
you know that to be true. Have a great We'll
do it again next week.
Speaker 5 (37:01):
Oh John, Thanks very much.
Speaker 8 (37:04):
Bob Lovel of Indiana Sports Talk Tonight tomorrow nighties, got
you covered. I can't wait for I you and Oregon
coming up on Saturday afternoon going to be great.
Speaker 6 (37:15):
I just want to see you hang around.
Speaker 4 (37:19):
And make the home team.
Speaker 8 (37:21):
And you know that that place is going to be
rotten with non believers, make them and then everybody else
believers in this thing. That's what you want. I live
at sam Silver Circle. We're with bud Light on a
blue Friday. Thank you very much for joining us. I
did want to get to this. Kathy Wolfe sent me
(37:42):
an email at JMV at one O seven five thefan
dot com.
Speaker 6 (37:46):
James, how about this. I just finished a five.
Speaker 8 (37:49):
Hundred and twenty five mile hike across northern Spain.
Speaker 6 (37:55):
Can you imagine how chafed I would be if I
did that? I had no.
Speaker 8 (38:02):
Five hundred and twenty five mile hike, wow across northern Spain.
I would be shafed for the next ten years.
Speaker 10 (38:13):
I don't think I'd be able to walk for the
next ten years.
Speaker 8 (38:16):
I had no Wi Fi while hiking, but with a
six hour time difference, I would settle in each evening
while listening to your show. I am a regular listener,
so staying tuned kept me up to date with local
sports and a nice reminder of home.
Speaker 6 (38:34):
Let's give a lot of love, Kathy.
Speaker 8 (38:36):
If you are here right now, you would so be
drinking out of this bucket of ice cold bud light
that we have here from Zing Distributing and we would
just go away.
Speaker 6 (38:45):
We'd give you tickets to go to the Colts game
if you're here right now now.
Speaker 8 (38:48):
I don't know where Kathy is right now, but that
is absolutely outstanding. Five hundred and twenty five miles on
a hike across northern Spain. I would like to ask
Kathy James, what would possess somebody to want to do that.
Speaker 5 (39:08):
Yeah.
Speaker 10 (39:09):
I don't think there is any amount of money you
could pay me to try and do something like that.
Speaker 8 (39:14):
You know how badass Kathy Wolf is, James. I mean,
that's ultimate bad assery right there?
Speaker 1 (39:19):
Is it?
Speaker 11 (39:20):
Not?
Speaker 3 (39:20):
Oh?
Speaker 4 (39:20):
It is.
Speaker 10 (39:20):
I mean she's certainly more badass than you or I.
Speaker 8 (39:23):
That's awesome, Kathy Wolf. Shout out to you and thank
you for being a P one listener through your five
hundred and twenty five mile hike in northern Spain. I
did have this reminder from Adam and Winstown. Do not
forget about the Lebanon Tigers. Sitting at six and one

There's Chris Hagen peeking through the window like some weird
ol right here, a Fox fifty nine.
Speaker 4 (41:30):
He's going to join us kipping.
Speaker 8 (41:31):
Up in a minute, provided he can squeeze through the
door right here.
Speaker 4 (41:35):
We will see him.
Speaker 8 (41:36):
When Schuler's spreadability original sharp Cheddar, make it in cheddar
and jalapeno pepper, the spreadability of when Shulers locked out
Brother Myer location, Gordon Food Service. I'm telling you if
you find it at other places too, or really wherever
you find when Schuler's, let us know, because it is
the spreadability of twenty twenty five in the football season.
(41:58):
When Schuler's spreadability, I know right now you can find
it at your favorite Meyer location. That is when Schuler's man.
The Eagles are an absolute mess right now. It's funny
how week to week the NFL is you can look
like you are absolute world beaters one week.
Speaker 6 (42:14):
And they didn't last week.
Speaker 8 (42:15):
Don't get me wrong, but they were an absolute mess
last night against the Giants. And for a second consecutive week,
I took a beating on Thursday night with my large
dbourbon locks and lunasul with tequila shots. Second consecutive Thursday night.
I have failed and failed miserably a man. The Eagles
(42:38):
were a mess, messy to say the least. Chris Agen
a Fox fifty nine is sitting down here first in
Joel with Joel a eericson of the Star. He's going
to join us at the top of the l How
you doing, Chris?
Speaker 4 (42:53):
I tell you what I heard you talk about your locks.
There's no such thing as a lockout or not. I
mean for Philly fans, God love you. You got you got
beaten down by the woeful Giants and then you had
one of the all time gaps by a picture last
night for the pills sent home. But yeah, plenty to
talk about. Uh I got I got a p s
(43:14):
A for the for the folks a little bit later too.
Do you ever, do you ever shake loose of that
crooked play. If you're him, Oh no, that's Bill Buckner's territory.
It's just you know, did he forget how many outs
there were? He just got scared. He bobbled and like
he's trying to win the game. He's not trying to
make an all time gap. But my goodness, and there's
no Guaranteemuto the catcher was pointing to first. Yeah, there's
(43:35):
no there's no guarantee they win that game. It still
was tied, but man alive, that will go down in infamy.
Speaker 8 (43:41):
As soon as he bobbled it, he absolutely crowd My god,
he freaked.
Speaker 4 (43:45):
And the guy, I don't know, was it Piez whoever
it was running the first was kind of just like jogging.
Speaker 8 (43:49):
Oh well, I'm out, yeah, cheapers, And then they celebrated
him at the end of the game.
Speaker 4 (43:54):
I wanted jack ass, didn't do anything, just go over
to talk to him again. I hit the ball back
to the picture like I'm in t ball fants and
threw it home. You know, even a good throw wasn't
going to get it because the guy's already breaking. The
guy's breaking on contact with two out. Your only hope
you bibble, you look up, you got a pitcher's arm,
(44:14):
you throw it to first, you live to play to
the twelfth inning. But that's not what happened.
Speaker 6 (44:17):
I'll tell you this.
Speaker 8 (44:18):
The other thing you can think about to their bats
with Philadelphia and listen, the Dodger pitching's prettydamn good. But
Bryce Harper did he do anything? Yeah, he's like automatic
out most of the time.
Speaker 4 (44:30):
It's it's funny how you play baseball. Regular season is
so long, yes, and that postseason can be such a
small sample size, and then you know you have a
three game series, five game and seven and so on,
just like the Cubs here, I mean, and with the Tigers.
The Tigers look dead in the water. Their bats came alive.
And so now we've got two more game fives to go.
Could you imagine if we had Tigers Cubs both and
(44:53):
if they made the World Series tight a lot of
boring would be huge amount of Cubs fans around here,
certain amount of Tigers fans. But yeah, I think it
be a lot better than seeing Toronto and La And
then all right, listen, I want to see the Blue Jays. Hagen.
Speaker 8 (45:05):
We'll come back with that first. And Joel on the
other side, too. It's on Fox fifty nine and Joel
the Eeriction of the Star. We'll talk about the return
of Alec Pierce, Grover Stewart's situation.
Speaker 6 (45:14):
That and Kenny Moore the second coming up here. Sam
Silver Circle.
Speaker 8 (45:17):
It's legendary, and it's legendary on this Friday because we
have five pair of Cardinals Colts tickets to give away.
Curtitsey a button light of friends from Zinker down there
right now, Rocketed Hagen, JMV. Phalin Watson, the on site engineer,
James Mack of the studio. You guys are awesome on
this Friday. Joel on the other side, don't go anywhere.
It's ninety three five, one oh seven five.
Speaker 7 (45:38):
The Fan, The Ride with JMV. O Boy Bloy ninety
three five and one oh seven five.
Speaker 8 (45:48):
The Fan, Sam's Silver Circle on a Friday, a bud
light below Friday with five pair of Cardinals Colts tickets
to give away. Hagen, this is a one hit wonder.
Explain to the folks out there why you go with
this hit, this classic from the nineteen eighties.
Speaker 4 (46:08):
I think all the greatest one hit wonders were in
the eighties, and this was one of them. This is
awesome though, Tell everybody who it is. This is uh
hit Nick Kershaw.
Speaker 3 (46:20):
Yeah with.
Speaker 4 (46:22):
I've Got It Bad. You don't know how bad I've
got it. You've got it easy.
Speaker 8 (46:31):
That's good man. That is Human Racing the eighty four album.
That is Nick Kershaw, a one hit wonder from the
nineteen eighties. Would It Be Good?
Speaker 4 (46:41):
And it's kind a couple of different ways that song goes.
It starts off kind of low, then it gets kind
of upbeat, and that's good poppy. It's got everything you
need to have from a nineteen eighties one hit wonder.
Speaker 8 (46:51):
Got Joel A. Rickson coming up in just a second.
Ryan is here from Connorsville, Indiana. Ron We get that
next year. Grill right there?
Speaker 4 (46:58):
All right, all right, Connorsville, Indiana. Bryan, Why are you
here today?
Speaker 12 (47:01):
Actually, just on my way home, commuting back and forth
right now, looking to move back home from Connorsville.
Speaker 6 (47:09):
You just don't You don't love Fayette County. What's happening there?
Speaker 12 (47:11):
Well, I moved away after our graduator from Wabash College
and kind of ended up on the west side. But
now I'm headed back home to southeastern Indiana.
Speaker 8 (47:20):
Nice, nice shout out to Connorsville, Indiana, and you're a
big time listener. I will mention with Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance.
You know my good friend Brian Near. I've heard the
name Brian le Brian Near, Brian Near. This is why
I love Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance. He keeps track of
all of my affairs. I can't do anything without Brian
(47:41):
Near knowing about it, which is good fantasy. I can't
keep track of my own stuff nothing, but no, you
guys do a great job for me.
Speaker 4 (47:49):
Man.
Speaker 12 (47:49):
Well, so you've been listening for a while, absolutely probably
ever since you've been on the air.
Speaker 4 (47:54):
How about Hagen? You watch Hagan fifteen minute? He's like,
I have no idea who that is.
Speaker 6 (48:00):
Well, I did call you by.
Speaker 1 (48:01):
Your first name and hopefully that was over.
Speaker 4 (48:02):
Yeah, yeah, I don't usually answer to Chris, but yeah,
that's awesome. Hey, Ryan, great to meet you.
Speaker 8 (48:07):
Man.
Speaker 4 (48:07):
Keep listening.
Speaker 6 (48:08):
Ryan, by the way, one more time.
Speaker 12 (48:12):
India, Ryan Lang, Connorsville, Indiana, Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance.
Speaker 8 (48:17):
Here you go, buddy, Thank you for listening all these
years and stopping by. Absolutely have a bud light with
us right here, go cole Ice cold bud light. Ryan
Lang is here with us from Connorsville, Indiana, a part
of the show. He's a big time listener. Meantime, you
can sit Ty right here with us too on the
Andy Moore Automotive Group Hootline First and Joel on Fox
fifty nine Ryder for the Indianapolis Star and sweating is
(48:40):
you know what's off? Going into a decisive Game five
coming up tomorrow night with his home standing Brewers and
the nlds against the Cubs. Joel a Ericson joins us, Now,
are you sweating this out a little bit?
Speaker 1 (48:54):
Brother?
Speaker 13 (48:55):
I have a twelve hours of depression schedule for the public.
I mean Missouri playing Alabama and the Brewers losing to
the Cubs in the game.
Speaker 1 (49:03):
In Game five.
Speaker 4 (49:06):
Hey, Joel, I listened to a lot of gambling podcasts
and all the sharps are saying that Missouri is the
play tomorrow. You've got a good running attack. Mama's not
that great against the run. It's kind of another sandwich
game for for Mama. They had a lot of emotion
last week looking forward to Tennessee. I think you've got
them right where you want them.
Speaker 13 (49:28):
It's the history of Missouri football would suggest that anytime
we go up against those blue bloody type schools that
we end up in a bad space.
Speaker 1 (49:36):
So I hope the gambling I hope the gambling.
Speaker 13 (49:39):
Sharks are right. But uh yeah, I gotta you gotta Well,
you know, I went to Missouri. I'm not from there,
but I went to Missouri. You have to show me.
Speaker 4 (49:48):
Well, what's funny is is they said that Missouri has
yet to play a road game. Is that true?
Speaker 1 (49:54):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (49:55):
They've played every set. I mean, what are we week seven?
They haven't played a road game. So that's that's what
it is.
Speaker 13 (50:01):
I can't remember what it is, but it's like the
furthest the team gets to its schedule maybe ever since,
like you know, some terrible some really long time ago,
they don't. They don't go on the road until they
play Auburn in the Rickson Household Maryln rivalry game.
Speaker 4 (50:17):
That's unbelievable. Well it makes you feel any better. Some
degenerates out in Las Vegas thinks Missouri is gonna win.
And as far as the Brewers go, I mean you
got to figure the Cubs are gonna cub and the
Brewers at home. I just like the Brewers in this
they've been the better team all season long, and I
actually like both teams. I wouldn't mind seeing either one
in the World Series, but I like the Brewers in
(50:38):
this one.
Speaker 1 (50:40):
I would love to agree with you, but I just
can't find a reason. I shit, I can't find.
Speaker 13 (50:47):
A reason from the vibes of going back home after
losing two that you should have clinched on to the numbers,
saying that historically, if you let a team back into
it like this, usually team closes you out. I just
I can't find a I can't find a path, Pagan.
Speaker 4 (51:05):
So yeah, Ryan, already I was already worried about seeing
Dave Griffiths and Alexa Ross tomorrow after the Phillies and
Eagles both lost, And so now tomorrow I might be
having to uh troubleshoot your your emotional issues if Missouri
and the Brewers both low. So this is gonna be
a real fun Sunday.
Speaker 13 (51:21):
First first and Joel first, and Joel may be the
fakest smile I've ever had. You might have to you
might have to do uh, you might have to do
some Chris Hagan singing and.
Speaker 1 (51:33):
To make up for some of those minutes.
Speaker 6 (51:35):
I can do it.
Speaker 8 (51:36):
I'll come through Joel Erickson first and Joel on Fox
with the Dye and from the Indianapolis Star of the
Eddy Moore Auto Motive Group pot line. Before we get
started on the Colts and some interesting dynamics going into
week number six of their matchup with the Cardinals coming
up on Sunday. I look at it this way, I
kind of wonder Craig Council, the skipper of the Cubs,
(51:57):
would would this be an all timer in terms of
of Wisconsin sports if they were to lose three in
a row when you get bounced out in the fashion
that is a possibility coming up tomorrow night in decisive
game five.
Speaker 14 (52:09):
Yeah, yeah, I thought last week I thought this season
couldn't be topped with the Alonso homer, shortly followed by
the There wasn't the news that something was going on
with There wasn't like hard news that something was going
on with Bob Ucker, but it was very evident from
the way the players were reacting that something was going
on with Huger.
Speaker 1 (52:27):
But this, this one, this one would be worse.
Speaker 13 (52:31):
I think every Brewers playoff loss sort of feel the existential.
This one would feel the same way. It's And like
I said, I think that's where I think that's where
it's headed. When when Half hit the homer yesterday, I thought,
you know what that might be it that's the end
of that series.
Speaker 4 (52:47):
Yeah, I don't know if I feel that, but you
knew that was the end of the game.
Speaker 8 (52:53):
I hated it because the Brewers just went away, I
mean just absolutely faded away, and Cubs kind of piled
it on. That's that's support that probably I hated the most.
I want to start here with the Colts. Is there
anything to put to the fact that you're talking about
two coaches coming up on Sunday with two teams going
in opposite directions right now? Clearly, but two coaches that
(53:17):
know one another maybe as well as any two coaches
in the NFL right now? Is there anything advantage wise
for either one going into Sunday and your estimation, Joe,
I don't think so.
Speaker 13 (53:31):
I think Arizona's Arizona's defense has evolved from where Jonathan
Gannon had it in Philadelphia. They're doing some really intriguing
stuff with the way they disguise their coverages, and it's
it's not stuff that they were necessarily doing back then.
I would say, you know, I know the Cardinals here
(53:51):
have lost three straight. But I get the sense that
the Colts look at this as a very difficult game.
I have at the Cardinals that they have a defense
in particular that is is probably better than people realize.
Speaker 4 (54:07):
Hagan, you going, oh sure, turn, I was like, oh
not just something online. No, I'm sorry, I don't listen
to you usually.
Speaker 8 (54:14):
Already I got another one. I just suck to you, Okay, Hey,
Joel Alick Pierce, we thought last week at this time
that maybe he had the op joy. Actually before this
we thought we knew by this time he wasn't. But
to me, for a guy that has been so good,
but people still complain about him not having deep ball capabilities,
(54:36):
Alick Peerce is so important because he gives Daniel Jones
that deep ball capability in the form of a jump ball.
So the importance of having him out there and his
return coming up on Sunday, I think, I.
Speaker 13 (54:51):
Think he's a big deal, and I think it's I
think it's more than just being able to go.
Speaker 1 (54:55):
Up and get the deep ball.
Speaker 13 (54:56):
If you go back and look at those the two
games before he got the Denver game and then the
Tennessee game, he made a handful of catches there in
that intermediate crosser type range that for big first downs
or sort of plays that aren't necessarily explosive play, but
they're fifteen nineteen yard chunks to obviously hugely helpful as
(55:18):
you moved down the field.
Speaker 1 (55:19):
I think Alex.
Speaker 13 (55:20):
Pierce's is definitely a big deal. And then with the
jump ball, you know, Daniel Jones, unless he throws.
Speaker 1 (55:26):
The ball very early, is not going to get a
deep ball.
Speaker 13 (55:31):
Out in front of a receiver to have him run
into it under it.
Speaker 1 (55:33):
Most of the time, it's going to be a jump ball.
Speaker 13 (55:35):
You know, A eighty Mitchell is not a player who's
great at that. We saw Acton Dowlin make one of
those plays last week, but Alec Pierce obviously is fantastic
at it. And I thought, you know, really probably should
have had three of those catches already this season instead
instead of just two.
Speaker 4 (55:52):
Joel, as nice as the four and one start is,
I mean, Jacksonville's right there, they're not going anywhere. Still
two matchups for them. We talked about earlier hall a
Eagles team can lose to the Giants, so and I
think the Colts has done a good job about talking
to talk and walking the walk about. Hey, this start
is great, but it means nothing. You can't go out
there and take anybody for granted, even though you're seeing
(56:14):
a team that's banged up and lost three straight in
the NFL. You have to go out there and do
what you do or you could easily take an l
and next thing you know, you're not in first place anymore.
Speaker 1 (56:25):
Yeah, and like I said, I think the Colts.
Speaker 13 (56:27):
I think the Colts think this Cardinals team should have
a better record than it does.
Speaker 1 (56:32):
You know this, I mentioned what they're doing on defense.
Speaker 13 (56:36):
The Colts have been so good on offense because Jones
and Steichen have been good at figuring out what coverages
people are running. And then that's what Jones has to
do with the line of scrimmage, and then Stikeen has
given him, you know, the right place.
Speaker 1 (56:49):
To attack whatever he sees.
Speaker 13 (56:51):
The Cardinals do this stuff in the secondary where they
kind of line up looks like almost aimlessly, and then
they they don't really declare their coverage until they until
the snap starts. And I think that makes it a
little bit more difficult on the quarterback. Jones said earlier
this week. You know, it's a little bit unconventional. It's
a little bit a little bit difficult with the stuff
(57:13):
like that in terms of reading the defense. That's what
they've done a good job of so far. So I
think it's an interesting mental test for this offense.
Speaker 4 (57:22):
Quote.
Speaker 8 (57:23):
We're working through that right now from Shane Stike, and
that has been a constant regarding a d Mitchell. He
was clearly on punishment last week against the Raiders. Will
that remain somewhat similar this week at home against the Cardinals.
Speaker 13 (57:39):
Yeah, I mean that's that's essentially the same thing Shane
Stiken said last week.
Speaker 1 (57:45):
You know, he didn't he didn't give.
Speaker 13 (57:47):
A full throated you know, he's he's he's paid his
dues and gotten back in there. So what we're working
through that is what he what he said last week,
and then we saw how much he played and not
with Pierce pat back obviously that that changes the roster
picture number a little bit. So Yeah, I think I
(58:08):
think it's possible that we might we might not see
Ady Mitchell in his old role in the offense this weekend,
just just based on like I said, it's it's the
same thing Shane Stiken said last week when he really
only played once. They threw in everybody just to keep
people healthy.
Speaker 8 (58:23):
Hey, Joe canny Moore of the second has been ruled out.
We know that to be true. But then they made
adjustments contractually for him. Is there there anything deeper to
get into with that conversation of mine? I talked to
Mike Chapel about that yesterday and he didn't really think so.
Speaker 3 (58:38):
But what say you?
Speaker 13 (58:40):
They got down to like four ish million or something
like that in cap space before that deal. They've done
this before where no structure something in the middle of
a season to kind of give themselves more operating money.
If you think about it, this is a team that's
already had to sign a handful of veteran types after
(59:00):
after the season has started and when there's still still
a ways to go. And the way the cap works
is if you're signing undrafted free agents and stuff like that,
those guys don't really affect your cap that much because
they're coming in at the minimum. If you sign veterans,
if you sign a guy like Jermaine Pratt, you're you're
obviously taking out a little bit bigger chunk of the cat.
Speaker 1 (59:20):
So I think that's the most likely.
Speaker 13 (59:23):
Thing for for why they redid Moore's contracts from a
from an achilles standpoint, we did see him working out.
Speaker 1 (59:29):
On the field today.
Speaker 13 (59:31):
Uh, not the field that the rest of the culture
practicing on.
Speaker 1 (59:34):
He was on the other field with a trainer.
Speaker 3 (59:36):
He was.
Speaker 13 (59:37):
He was doing some movement stuff at the beginning of practice.
So at the very least they think it's okay for
him to start moving where. We'll see next week if
he if he is able to play before that for
those four weeks that uh, he would have been a
minimum of on ir expire or if it lingers a
little bit.
Speaker 4 (59:57):
He joell As you know, I do little to no
research whenever I'm talking about but I was thinking about
Daniel Jones. Uh, if you did it right now, a
third of the way of the season, you'd say, you know,
is he comeback Player of the Year? And then I
started thinking, not to get too far ahead of myself,
has can you think of anybody, or you, John, has
anybody ever been Comeback Player of the Year and MVP
(01:00:17):
in the same season, because that would be uh, that
would be unbelievable and it.
Speaker 6 (01:00:23):
Sounds like like a Cam Newton category or something.
Speaker 3 (01:00:26):
To me.
Speaker 13 (01:00:26):
I well, I know this though, he cannot be comeback
Player of the Year for just not playing well the
year before.
Speaker 1 (01:00:34):
They changed that rule.
Speaker 4 (01:00:36):
Oh it has to be hurt now, Yes, they changed the.
Speaker 1 (01:00:39):
Rule after Flacco one. Uh, after Flacco one because people
were up at arms.
Speaker 13 (01:00:45):
But tomorrow Hamlin not getting it, and so now it
has to be an injury thing. I have seen if
several people say Daniel Jones comeback.
Speaker 4 (01:00:52):
Player, well yeah, and I don't.
Speaker 1 (01:00:54):
Particularly like that.
Speaker 13 (01:00:56):
I think you should be able to come back from whatever.
But that those are I believe there was a rule
change where it has to be coming.
Speaker 4 (01:01:04):
Back off of injury. So there's comeback Player of the
Year and come back from the dead player of the
Year is what they have now. And not to make
light of that situation, but it is very different because
for years it was like a guy that was down
and out, and I mean, you get cut from your
original team that drafted you in the first round and
then you're just like you're basically a ball boy for
the vikings up there. It's it's strange that he can't
(01:01:28):
be inconsiderent. Now it makes you wonder who's even in
consideration for that. I mean, would it be Dak didn't
that get hurt last year, Yeah, Dak got hurt. That
gets hurt every year.
Speaker 13 (01:01:38):
I don't particularly like the change in the rule because
I think I think Drew Brees won his comeback Player
of the Year not for the year after he wrecked
his shoulder, but for a year that he just wanted
it to be good with the Chargers and then turned
out to be very good.
Speaker 1 (01:01:52):
The next year. I prefer having that be a part
of it.
Speaker 13 (01:01:56):
If you go back and look at the Flacco year,
really I don't I'm not sure Fleac or Hamlin, either of.
Speaker 1 (01:02:01):
Them should have went.
Speaker 13 (01:02:02):
I think it probably should have been Baker Mayfield because
he was the guy that he was kind of in
a Jones spot where the NFL had left him for
dead and he uh and then he obviously has become
a turn into what looks like a franchise quarterback for
the Buck.
Speaker 1 (01:02:14):
So I don't love that rule change.
Speaker 4 (01:02:16):
But I do know that they made that a couple
of years ago it Joel.
Speaker 6 (01:02:20):
Did Daniel Jones not get injured? Did he not miss
a week last year for the Giants?
Speaker 4 (01:02:25):
Other than that be an asterix like, yeah, he was,
he was hurt one game, So I don't know that's
a good question.
Speaker 1 (01:02:32):
I don't know if they changed the voting criteria. As
you guys may know. Uh, the Associated Press does.
Speaker 13 (01:02:38):
Not like to give out putting memberships to people who
are in the Indianapolis market, so that makes it a
little harder for us to know some of the start.
Speaker 4 (01:02:46):
Yeah, nerds, I got I got a good insight here
from Eddie White, who says, believe it or not, the
closest to winning both and this makes sense was Peyton Manning.
Speaker 6 (01:02:56):
Yeah, it does.
Speaker 8 (01:02:59):
The he's on top of it as as usual. That
does make that does make a lot of sense. Yeah,
that's weird. Hey, if you were voting for MVP, would
it be Daniel Jones or Jonathan Taylor?
Speaker 13 (01:03:13):
That's a good I mean, right now, I would go
Daniel Jones because Taylor has been brilliant. Don't get me wrong,
but a lot of these games, Taylor's been the finisher
and Jones has been the one who who's They've they've
put the ball in the hands of early in games.
I think just about every game so far had started
with a fairly pedestrian first half from Taylor and then
(01:03:36):
he turns, you know, they wear them down, and he
starts finding room to run in the second half. So
I think in terms of just you know, who's who's
driving the bus the most so far, it's it's probably Jones.
And again that's that's tough one because Taylor's been brilliant.
But just in terms of the most valuable, I think
that's where I would go.
Speaker 4 (01:03:57):
Well, Joe, before we say goodbye, I'll see you on
Sunday morning. But tomorrow I'm throwing this out there to
you and all my degenerate friends. I'm gonna go with
the Joel a Parlay. I'm going the zoo and the brew.
Speaker 6 (01:04:10):
It all rhymes.
Speaker 4 (01:04:11):
It has to be a winner.
Speaker 1 (01:04:14):
If if if, well, I guess I'm looking at the
wrong way.
Speaker 13 (01:04:18):
Tomorrow could be twelve hours of pression or it could
be twelve hours of elation.
Speaker 1 (01:04:21):
It's it's impossible to know.
Speaker 4 (01:04:23):
But you know, with us, as we've talked about this before,
our sports teams, we've never gone into games in any
sport expecting to win. We're always happy when we do.
Speaker 13 (01:04:32):
Never I we we just you know, but you know,
between you and I, we have chosen teams that don't
necessarily allow us to feel great about things.
Speaker 4 (01:04:42):
We can't be cocky We're never you can never knock
us off our perch because we're never on it to
begin with Brewers fans.
Speaker 6 (01:04:48):
Oh, I'm sorry, go ahead, go ahead, Jelse, I bought
that ahead.
Speaker 1 (01:04:51):
Brewers, Brewers.
Speaker 13 (01:04:52):
The Brewers are something like three and ten or something
in their history in clinchers.
Speaker 1 (01:04:57):
So you know, people are like, you know, you're putting
on the front here. No, I have reason to not
believe that you can work out.
Speaker 8 (01:05:06):
Yeah, there is And going back to nineteen eighty two
when the Cardinals won the World Series, when the Brewers
were in the A of the American League back in
the day, Joel has uh not memories of that, but
I'm sure distant memories as folks that are Brewers fans
have told him about.
Speaker 6 (01:05:22):
That in the past.
Speaker 8 (01:05:23):
And yeah, there has been a there's been a lot
of heartache with the Brewers. There's no doubt about that.
Joel has got first. And Joel coming up on Sunday
with Chris Hagan a Fox fifty nine find his work
in the Indianapolis Star.
Speaker 6 (01:05:34):
Joel, it's always a pleasure, brother, Thank you. You bet.
Speaker 13 (01:05:37):
We'll see if we we'll see if itsweet us we
can get Hagen singing on a show on Sunday.
Speaker 4 (01:05:42):
I can't wait, Dad, why don't you do that? Sing
on the show? Budd I sang on the show and
Chelsea Helms made fun of me. I thought it was
pretty good though. And Chelsea Hilmes apparently this is one
of her spots. But she's at work today, so since
she was here to call in again today, I think
she's working. So Frank scided. She said to get her
some pizzas favorite pizza attend.
Speaker 8 (01:06:01):
She said, Joe, appreciate it. Man of a great weekend,
and enjoy the game tomorrow and Sunday. I think Joe
hung up like five minutes. You probably did, Joe get
to talk to you break. I think we got the
Colt Daily Update coming up next. Mike Wells from espter Radio.

the Pacific Northwest. We're at sam Silver Circle bud Light

Speaker 6 (01:06:36):
They don't go anywhere.
Speaker 8 (01:06:37):
We're coming back, hopefully making a win or more bulls
Eye passes.
Speaker 6 (01:06:41):
Sit Tight ninety three.

Speaker 3 (01:07:44):
A box like always am?
Speaker 4 (01:07:46):
Yeah, no, I don't, we don't.
Speaker 6 (01:07:48):
We don't catch you right all right now.
Speaker 3 (01:07:53):
My airbox hold on that.
Speaker 6 (01:07:55):
That is better right there.
Speaker 4 (01:07:56):
And you all thought my singing was bad.
Speaker 8 (01:07:58):
Yeah, that's like you're It's like you were singing trapped
inside of garden.
Speaker 4 (01:08:03):
I was right there. That didn't sound good at all. Oh,
that would sound much better.
Speaker 3 (01:08:08):
So my Tender Love did not sound great that time.
Speaker 4 (01:08:11):
Man, and I gave you.
Speaker 8 (01:08:12):
I put that on a silver platter with the fours
d's and Tender Love a one hit wonder from nineteen
eighty five and what incredible soundtrack of the nineteen eighties
Mike Wells.
Speaker 9 (01:08:27):
Crash Groovy Body, Body Movement.
Speaker 6 (01:08:32):
God?
Speaker 4 (01:08:33):
What hey, what's your favorite song off that album?
Speaker 8 (01:08:37):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (01:08:37):
Man, see now we're going back forty years.
Speaker 6 (01:08:40):
Oh yeah, put me on.
Speaker 3 (01:08:41):
The spot on that one.
Speaker 7 (01:08:42):
Man.
Speaker 3 (01:08:42):
I just I.
Speaker 6 (01:08:43):
Oh, come on, buddy.
Speaker 3 (01:08:45):
May what the Curtis? What's the Curtis one?
Speaker 4 (01:08:48):
That sounds track if I Rule the World?
Speaker 6 (01:08:52):
Oh God, that's a great song.
Speaker 4 (01:08:54):
Oh that's great.
Speaker 3 (01:08:57):
Hey, you want to know what's crazy? My favorite?
Speaker 9 (01:08:59):
One of my favorite part of that movie was when
the fat boys went to uh to Borrow's Pizza and
they ate everything in sight in that movie?
Speaker 4 (01:09:08):
They did remember that part?
Speaker 1 (01:09:10):
I did.
Speaker 8 (01:09:11):
And then that guy had a heart attack like five
minutes later. I think, didn't he want to say?
Speaker 3 (01:09:17):
If I'm not thinking two or three fat boys have
passed away, haven't they?
Speaker 8 (01:09:22):
I believe we're only uh, we only have one fat
boy unfortunately remaining by the way the Beastie Boys. She's
on it a classic song from Crush Groove.
Speaker 6 (01:09:33):
And how about this one?
Speaker 4 (01:09:35):
The Gap band love Triangle from that Gap bands.
Speaker 3 (01:09:40):
My parents used to love playing some gapmand They were
cleaning the hound. Yeah, I believe there's a classic plastic
on the couch.
Speaker 6 (01:09:49):
I think there's only one of those left too, I
think dropped.
Speaker 8 (01:09:53):
Charlie Wade's the only of the three members of the
Gap band remaining two on me.
Speaker 3 (01:10:00):
Oh shoot, hey, we got our favorite one foot five
do jingering out.
Speaker 4 (01:10:03):
Who's in the house, like Wells. It's not an official
show until Welles makes fun of my height.
Speaker 3 (01:10:10):
Hey, by the way, you keep shrinking too, bro.
Speaker 9 (01:10:12):
I mean I'm gone from five foot five to one
foot five over the years.
Speaker 3 (01:10:17):
Man.
Speaker 4 (01:10:18):
Man, I'm as tall as tinker Bell.
Speaker 3 (01:10:20):
Now.
Speaker 8 (01:10:20):
He just showed me a picture of twenty fifteen. My god,
I was fat. That's ridiculous. You were in the fat.
You could have been in the fat. We just said
I look like Peter Griffin from Family Guy and that pay.
Speaker 9 (01:10:36):
Twenty fifteen was the start of the inn of things
for Andy looking the Colts at quarterback too.
Speaker 4 (01:10:42):
Man, Yeah, twenty fifteen.
Speaker 3 (01:10:46):
That was not good.
Speaker 9 (01:10:46):
That was not a good year for people, evidently, Man.
And by the way, we're good seeing you and Hagen.
Speaker 3 (01:10:53):
In the in the press last weekend at the both games.
Speaker 9 (01:10:56):
Shout out for Matt Cold Bat Company and the colts
for U my eye you students, then.
Speaker 3 (01:11:01):
To cover a game. We'll be back again in a
few weeks, so I don't need to be there, but
I love going to catch up with all of y'all.
Speaker 4 (01:11:08):
Hey, Kanti's the hell of the dude.
Speaker 6 (01:11:10):
Man, you know what I mean. You know how easy
conty is. Thank you keV. You know how easy con
I mean.
Speaker 8 (01:11:15):
And I hate to say it, but other people are
so damn hard to deal with and such a pain
in the ass most of the time. Man, Kanti, when
lose or draw, criticism whatever is always there and always
you know, get you guys on. They just kind of
understand what's going on here. I have a great deal
(01:11:38):
of admiration for that. I like everybody that does it
in the communication game around here. But not all are
created equal. I mean, there are some that need to
do better work, and it's just sad.
Speaker 3 (01:11:52):
I'm trying to turn over newly now.
Speaker 9 (01:11:54):
Had Hagen made that comment, I would have stirred the
plot and got things going.
Speaker 3 (01:11:59):
But I've turned over. I'm not going to ask who
the hell you're talking about?
Speaker 8 (01:12:03):
What we listen And I like him a great deal,
But the Fever and the Pacers can be a pain
in my ass, sir, and I don't know why. I mean,
I mean, I am like mister basketball around here. I mean,
they should have these dudes non stop and ladies no stop.
But I mean, it was like pulling stinking teeth to
(01:12:25):
get anybody on the fever on except those that cover it.
And you know, the pacers kind of the same way.
It's a ridiculous pain and it shouldn't be that way.
And they should take a page from the book of
Matt Conti and the Colts and how they handle things
to make sure that your.
Speaker 4 (01:12:40):
Local product is always out there and being talked up.
Speaker 8 (01:12:43):
I would never I will never ever understand that, never,
especially for me with the pacers that have talked them
up and have you know, been right about them over
the course of the past couple of years.
Speaker 6 (01:12:56):
I will never understand that.
Speaker 3 (01:12:59):
Man Hagen, I was trying a conscious shoutout. I didn't know.
I didn't elf to go it on that path, bro.
Speaker 4 (01:13:07):
That took a turn.
Speaker 6 (01:13:09):
I can name something.
Speaker 8 (01:13:10):
I can name some names if you guys, well, I
don't care at this point because I mean, basically, I
you know, Chad Buchanic comes on and whenever I ask
him and that's nice enough. But hell, if I if
I send that down the pipeline over there, I'm lucky
to get a call back in like a month.
Speaker 6 (01:13:24):
It's absurd.
Speaker 3 (01:13:28):
Hey, so how about how about those calls?
Speaker 4 (01:13:34):
Yeah?
Speaker 9 (01:13:35):
You know, got a chance to uh win another game
this weekend against the Cardinals. Uh, moving in and continuing
to move in the right direction.
Speaker 3 (01:13:43):
Can we just go and play Colts and Jaguars? Man?
Uh for the AFC South title?
Speaker 4 (01:13:50):
Hey, wells, can you imagine if there's a world and
where they're flexing a Colts Jaguars game to prime time
because it's going to mean so much in December?
Speaker 9 (01:13:59):
Dang they do that, I'm gonna call you to seven
with five h But no, hey, I'm still I'm so
a little hesit. I'm more hesitant on the Jaguars still.
But the way they tripped, they tripped up and slid
on end and got that victory over the Chiefs on
Monday Night football, I gotta give you know, give a little.
Speaker 3 (01:14:19):
Credit what credit's doing.
Speaker 9 (01:14:20):
Maybe maybe Trevor Lawrence will finally live up to uh
the expectations behind his name?
Speaker 4 (01:14:27):
Was that not the goofiest ever game winning touchdown you've
ever seen in your whole life. Dude falls down not
once but twice, then gets up and then an all
world performer like Chris Jones is like, well, I'm just
gonna stand here and watch, and next thing you know,
he's in the end zone and the Jags are are
winning a huge game.
Speaker 9 (01:14:45):
Yeah that was I mean, hey, uh, first of all,
that that christ the Chris Jones moment is kind of
summed up how to keep them. I've been off seasons
they essentially have, uh the sleepwalking and in passion, like,
all right, now, you.
Speaker 3 (01:14:59):
Don't have to worry my kids.
Speaker 9 (01:15:00):
They'll flip the script because they got Patrick Mahomes Travis
Kelsey out there. But you know, for the first time
in some years, like this might be the starting to
the clawing on Andy Reid.
Speaker 3 (01:15:12):
And those boys on a Kansas City and you're flipping around.
Look you look at the landscape of the AFC as
a whole. I know we're on you know what do
we uh what week six, Week five of the season
and you're talking about the jaguarss. I'm about the coast. Obviously,
the Builders are doing things. The Ravens.
Speaker 9 (01:15:30):
The Ravens are are are a gigantic Coop mess right
now too. So Cincinnati without Jing Brow, they're not good.
You could say, hey, the AFC might Actually it may
be everything. Just Buffalo is the one team that people
really have to worry about, and then after that it
might be wide open.
Speaker 4 (01:15:49):
And right now, if the season stopped today, which I'm
sure would make a season ticket holders pissed off for
only getting a few games in. But the Colts are
sitting at the one seed, and when you look around,
it's like the NBA the Eastern Conference this year, so
many star players are hurt, teams might be down. This
is when you got to make your hay and to
get out of the gate quick, which the Colts haven't
(01:16:09):
done a lot in the last decade to be where
they are and see some of the landscape of the AFC.
I mean, the time is now to get something done
and break a lot of these long streaks that they've
had as far as winning divisions and making the playoffs
and advancing in the playoffs. So this is where I
mean the ball has been placed on the tee, has
it not?
Speaker 3 (01:16:29):
Oh?
Speaker 9 (01:16:30):
Can you guys imagine this was a traditional fold season
where they got off to a slow start and the
rest of the AFC has not been good.
Speaker 1 (01:16:41):
They're mounting moaning, groaning from.
Speaker 9 (01:16:43):
The fan base about all we can't even take advantage
of this off again, Joe.
Speaker 3 (01:16:47):
Everybody else is down. But now, like you said, Hagen,
you know, if the season weready in today, Apple be mad.
Speaker 9 (01:16:54):
But the road to the Super Bowl would be going
through Lucas Oil Stadium. So it is a great time.
Speaker 3 (01:16:59):
Right now.
Speaker 9 (01:17:02):
If you're if you're an NFL football fan in the
Indian if you're a coach fan, especially with the fevers obviously,
you know the Patrieros are gonna be tipping off in
a couple of weeks without Tyrey's Howeber, you're talking about
the Colts and what's and what's going on tomorrow afternoon at.
Speaker 3 (01:17:19):
Three thirty in Oregon in Eugene, Organ what are you playing?
Speaker 8 (01:17:22):
Uh?
Speaker 9 (01:17:23):
I use the football is great in the city of
Indiana these days.
Speaker 4 (01:17:27):
Now it is too.
Speaker 8 (01:17:28):
I can't wait until tomorrow with all you in Oregon too,
just to see you know, where they are and the
rest of the football world. Basically Mike riding them off
before they even get out to Eugene. That's gonna be.
Speaker 6 (01:17:41):
That's gonna be some fun. What you got going on
this weekend, buddy, Oh.
Speaker 9 (01:17:45):
Man, listen, just hang hanging out the family doing that
a little bit, and your your girl ate Leila Wells
is out there.
Speaker 3 (01:17:53):
But the last two weeks of a fall breaks. You're listening.
Oh boy, my man, tell you what now.
Speaker 6 (01:17:59):
You guys, You guys get two weeks, two weeks at Brownsburg.
Speaker 3 (01:18:03):
Yeah, they get they get two weeks from round Bird.
Speaker 8 (01:18:07):
The Since you get two weeks, that's ridiculous. We needed
two days during in service days. Why do you need
two weeks in the fall? That's an Listen.
Speaker 9 (01:18:16):
When when my kids were younger, I couldn't stand it,
But now they're self sufficient. I can give a rep
for tuty about it. But the second week, the second
week is the start of a high school basketball season
and everything, so it's really only one week.
Speaker 3 (01:18:30):
From Laila.
Speaker 9 (01:18:33):
In the till you woman soccer game last night, and
he had no interest in going.
Speaker 3 (01:18:37):
Day on the school today.
Speaker 9 (01:18:39):
I'm like, bro, you're off for the next two weeks
and you want to and start fall break the day early.
Speaker 3 (01:18:44):
Man, he's kids.
Speaker 8 (01:18:47):
I was always grounded this time of the year because
my Yeah, I was always grounded this time of year
because my report cards were so bad.
Speaker 3 (01:18:54):
He so when you were little man, no time to change.
Speaker 9 (01:18:57):
Like when you were grounded, did your mom tay you
to go in the backyard and grab a switch off
the tree so you can beat your butt?
Speaker 8 (01:19:04):
No, my grandma did. Now, my mom just grounded my
ass all the time. I got grounded all the time.
Speaker 3 (01:19:11):
And grandy used to give it to your aunt.
Speaker 8 (01:19:14):
Yeah, and then my my mom now has revision is
history and thinks something such a oh you know what,
he never was a problem.
Speaker 6 (01:19:20):
I'm thinking, well, why the hell is my as ground
he still is a problem.
Speaker 4 (01:19:23):
So yeah, I got I got the belt. I'm talking
about the old school belt.
Speaker 3 (01:19:28):
You had to paddle with your name on it, Christmas
paddle on it. That did? That was it.
Speaker 4 (01:19:33):
You know what's funny is back in my day in school,
like the head coach could just break out the wooden
paddle and go to go to town. And like if
you went home and said that got paddled, your parents
would say, well what did you do? They wouldn't be
they wouldn't be calling the lawyer. They'd be asking what
the he get suspended and paddled?
Speaker 6 (01:19:50):
Back in the day.
Speaker 8 (01:19:51):
Oh yeah, true story right there. Hey, Mike, tell the
lovely Layla. I said, hello, best of the fam. We'll
do it again next week.
Speaker 3 (01:19:57):
All right, Hey, you got to be good.
Speaker 9 (01:19:58):
Sorry about my uh sounded like I was in a
bottle at tender Love. But we'll recap it next week.
Speaker 3 (01:20:05):

Speaker 8 (01:22:07):
I can't think of it. Girl walks but young mc
youngc Yeah, just bust to move, Bust to move. We're
a big young mc fami.
Speaker 4 (01:22:14):
When he came out, well we were, I know you've
been talking about one hit wonders, speaking of which, did
he have another hit? Young mc? Yeah, Principal's office not familiar.
Had you played modern English, I'll stop the world? They
did the ultimate one hit wonder move. You remember they
had no other hits, so about a decade later they
did a different version of their one hit No sure
(01:22:37):
you remember that.
Speaker 8 (01:22:37):
Well, that's why when I went to see Men Without Hats,
they have two hits. But he played safety Dance twice.
You have to yeah, twice. He played the short version.
And remember they had a long version of when SSS
says AAA. The biggest baller move ever was when Tears
for Fears were here, and I don't think you went.
I think it was Trisha Whittaker when I stead they
came out and this is the baller move.
Speaker 6 (01:22:59):
You shubbed me for Tricia Whitaker.
Speaker 3 (01:23:00):
Yeah, I got the.
Speaker 4 (01:23:01):
Better end of the barn. I'm like God, they go
out there, Tears the first comes out, very first song.
Everybody wants to rule the world, so they're like, you know,
what if that's what you want to hear, and that's all,
get your ass out of here. We got a bunch
of other songs. So I thought that was really cool
that they just dropped it and said, here we go.
That's out of the way. Now we can play our songs. Man,
oh man, that pizza smells damn good. Who just got
(01:23:21):
a fresh one? Oh my god? Right behind me? That
was very unkind. I'm over here just in the right
in the that's some rocket. I'm in the firing one
of that.
Speaker 6 (01:23:32):
And what's your name? Told you this is some great pizza.
Speaker 3 (01:23:36):
Yah.
Speaker 4 (01:23:36):
Chelsea Hilm, CBS four anchor said, this is the best.
Now I'm gonna take a piece if you're offering a piece,
not just for the ready. Oh yeah, I'm gonna got
a piece at pizza. I think you should. Oh my god,
I'm gonna have to leave the show. John, Are you
thrilled with that?
Speaker 1 (01:23:48):
Are you over there?
Speaker 4 (01:23:49):
Hey?
Speaker 6 (01:23:49):
Real quick?
Speaker 4 (01:23:49):
Might get it back there right now too. My psa,
you have to get out there. You see my head here?
Speaker 6 (01:23:54):
What happened?
Speaker 3 (01:23:54):
You know?
Speaker 4 (01:23:55):
I walked three miles a day in the sun and
like I'm fair skinned, And they said Hey, where sunscreen?
Wear a hat. Haven't done it. They had to freeze
off some pre cancerous situation up here on the head.
So wear the sunscreen, wear the hat, don't wear the
shirt of the pool. Fourth of July weekend. I did
wear the shirt. I've been told forever.
Speaker 3 (01:24:12):
I know you did.
Speaker 4 (01:24:13):
It's okay, so don't don't be a dumb ass. The
skin is the largest organ of the body is the skin,
and take care of it because you're lucky.
Speaker 6 (01:24:20):
I have a shirt on here.
Speaker 1 (01:24:22):
Yeah, okay, never one.
Speaker 8 (01:24:23):
Do you show me that picture from twenty fifteen. I'm
never gonna wear a shirt again. Do you want me
to tweek that out?
Speaker 4 (01:24:27):
Seriously?
Speaker 3 (01:24:28):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (01:24:28):
Do it?
Speaker 6 (01:24:29):
No, lookout, I'm not lookout fat. This dude was in
twenty fifteen.
Speaker 4 (01:24:34):
So yeah, say no seriously. When I showed Dougie, it
was what Premiere weight loss dugs for this fat ass.
Speaker 7 (01:24:40):
Dug said, who is that?
Speaker 15 (01:24:40):
I go It's John you believe Hagen said it looked
like Peter Griffin. I did look like Peter Griffin. And
you know what, I went in there. I had the
audacic to show them quote. I don't think I need
to lose any weight.
Speaker 4 (01:24:56):
Look at you now.
Speaker 8 (01:24:57):
Can you imagine on nuts they thought, yeah, you do
so fat, you better get on this scale.
Speaker 4 (01:25:01):
Or like, hey Tubby, just go ahead and step in
his road. Hey Tubby, maybe you do need to lose
some weight right here. But no, I would tell you.
I would tell your friend either way. John. That just
was nice of you too. But I feel much better now.
But no, seriously, you're lucky.
Speaker 8 (01:25:14):
I mean we we did the pool party at Paradise
Dave Watson's all of us back in fourth of July weekend.
Speaker 4 (01:25:21):
You're lucky.
Speaker 8 (01:25:22):
I wear a shirt. Ever, I may show at the
Colts game going to press box shirtless. If you're leggy,
I just don't want to wear a shirt.
Speaker 4 (01:25:30):
Maybe that's why the Pacers don't want to talk to you,
and we showed up with no shirt on.
Speaker 1 (01:25:34):
Hey.
Speaker 8 (01:25:35):
People get mad at me about making that particular opinion,
but see, I'm a big basketball guy, and especially this year,
get that get that product out there and talk it up.
I mean I've talked it up. I think it's going
to be much better than what people give it credit
to be. And I've never really understood why Mike Preston
(01:25:56):
decides not to put dudes on this she should have
dudes on the show often.
Speaker 4 (01:26:02):
And I'll tell you this. When I was covering the
Pacers out there in Oklahoma City, they were great to
me about making sure I got questions in making sure
I didn't get stepped on at them.
Speaker 6 (01:26:12):
But they need to get their guys on the show.
Speaker 1 (01:26:15):
Why not?
Speaker 4 (01:26:17):
Maybe the players just don't like it.
Speaker 6 (01:26:18):
And I say this all the time.
Speaker 4 (01:26:19):
I love the way that Rick Carlisle is on every
Tuesday right in the morning.
Speaker 6 (01:26:23):
I think that is a great thing.
Speaker 8 (01:26:25):
They need to do it more than just that, especially
say as somebody who's incredibly dolgeable about basketball, like my
ass right here, my hell.
Speaker 4 (01:26:35):
I'm gonna do I'm gonna bring you guys together, just
like you and and Buddy Baker. I'm gonna bring you
guys together. I don't we're together. I'm gonna bring you
and the Pacers together. I'm gonna be like Jimmy Carter.
I'm gonna be like Jimmy Carter. Am I Moknock and Megan, Yeah,
of course you're you're on Larst Monock and Megan. I'll
be Jimmy Carter, Sam Silver Circle.
Speaker 8 (01:26:57):
Let's saying, and I'm John thank you for joining us
was our Bookal, the former coach side in Colts Radio
Network participant, occasionally to also go inside with IU and
Oregon Coming up tomorrow with his college football analysts work too,
It's coming up next.
Speaker 6 (01:27:13):
Ninety three five one oh seven five Fan.
Speaker 7 (01:27:18):
The Ride with JMV. He paid that to me and
his man ninety three to five and one oh seven
five the fan.
Speaker 3 (01:27:28):
Man.
Speaker 8 (01:27:28):
I love this place, Uh, Principal's office, I think is
another hit for a young MC back of the day, Haygen.
Speaker 16 (01:27:36):
Because you're over zealous, play hot to get females, get jealous,
go to a pody, goes the song Buck Nomi, I
know Macaulay Culkin was an uncle Buck. I see real
quick shout out to Todd and Jen and they gave
me a piece of their pizza.
Speaker 4 (01:27:52):
They're awesome over there. And then and then Todd said
the magic words, do you want another piece? And I'm like,
what are you kidding me? So yeah, tremendous pizza, tremendous people,
tremendous song it is.
Speaker 8 (01:28:03):
And then Doug and Lisa are here, we know them,
Paradise Day Watson, Sarah is here right behind you.
Speaker 6 (01:28:10):
We got a great bunch of people, here.
Speaker 8 (01:28:12):
At Sam Silver Circle, Fletcher and Shelby is our location here,
easy to park, easy to get to, Yes, great, great
time always when we come out. Faling's the on site engineer,
James back of the studio. A busy show so far,
but let's go ahead and get him on here. I'm
gonna go ahead and start before we get to the
Cardinals and the colts And we got tickets to give
(01:28:34):
away with Bud Light on a Blue Friday five pair.
In fact, here at Sam Silver Circle, we'd love to
see you. The former Coltside and Charles Arbuckle from the
radio network also does college football, joined on the Andy
Moore Automotive Group potline because obviously you know a lot
and study in new games collegiately.
Speaker 4 (01:28:53):
Two, what do you think about this?
Speaker 8 (01:28:55):
I you match up with Oregon coming up tomorrow afternoon, Eugenia.
Speaker 2 (01:29:01):
I'm really intrigued by jam V. I really am, because
I think you know, when you have a team like
Oregon who's fast and they get after you, and then
kerk Signetti's team is physical and they're fast. But I
think there's a lot of a lot of things that
are going to happen in that game that you know
you have to make the turn. And we talked about Mendoza.
I don't think people realize what a good player he
(01:29:24):
was going to be. You and I were on that
early on. So I think this is going to be
a lot of fireworks. Both teams can score, so to me,
it becomes it becomes who can stop the other defensively,
And I think that's what IU has to really look at.
When you're playing an Oregon that Oton Stadium is loud.
They're going to feel like they're right on top of you.
(01:29:44):
I think I don't know if Indiana's played there. If
they have, I don't remember the time that they have,
but it is one of those places that they don't
manufacture a lot of noise.
Speaker 3 (01:29:53):
Because it's so loud in there.
Speaker 2 (01:29:54):
I can remember playing there in Washington, those two places
on the road when I was in the Pac ten
now gone Pac twelve would.
Speaker 3 (01:30:02):
Be so dog one loud.
Speaker 2 (01:30:03):
I think Indiana has to get ready for that, and
I get a little damn as it always is up
in Oregon if it's a little bit of rain in
the fall. So I look forward to a fast, physical game,
and I think the team that makes the least mistakes
will be the one that comes out on top.
Speaker 4 (01:30:17):
Hey, Bucket's Chris Hagen. Good to talk to you as always.
I think maybe like in two thousand and three, four
or five, somewhere like that. I think Jerry DeNardo took
IU out to Oregon and maybe they won or they
played it closer than you thought it would be. But
my question to you is, you watch a lot of
pro ball, you watch college ball, and we know this
is a tough question because GM struggle with it year
(01:30:38):
in and year out. When you see a college player
at VI, at Mendoz or somebody else, can you see
things that tell you, Okay, that's going to translate. This
guy's going to play in the league. And are you
do Some guys just stand out and usually you're right.
Speaker 3 (01:30:52):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:30:53):
I mean I think you know, Dante Moore was one
of those guys for Oregon who was at UCLA. We
just didn't have the rights system and set up for him,
and I think they started him too early, and you
could see now having set behind Dylan Gabriel had a
chance to really get.
Speaker 3 (01:31:08):
Comfortable and learn.
Speaker 2 (01:31:10):
So Fernando Mendoza though, for something about him that I
like is his physical toughness. I've always said that was
the thing that stood out to me, and it's the
ability to be anticipatory with your grows. You know, I
think a lot of people think you have to throw
the ball really hard. That's not always the case. There's
certain times where you have to do things with the
football to get an in tight spot in windows. We
(01:31:33):
watched that last night with Jackson Dark. The anticipation, how
the receivers start to have a little step in the
pepping that step. Look at Daniel Jones when he was
really good at New York. He would get the ball
in positions where guys could make plays, and they always
talked about him having a catchuple ball. Look at that
in Indiana, I mean in Indianapolis. So I look for
quarterbacks that not only can throw hard, but also know
(01:31:54):
how to throw with different velocities and different touches to
different areas of the field and put ball even almost
like a you know, point guard that can just kind
of lock things over at certain times. That's what you
look for for quarterbacks. For me, I think sometimes offensive
coordinators in the league that to enameled with their system
as opposed to fitting the system to the player.
Speaker 4 (01:32:15):
It's what I always say buck about quarterbacks. They'll say, oh,
he's got a rocket for an arm or a cannon
for an arm, and I say, hey, yeah, that's great,
but sometimes you just need a pellet gun. You don't
need that rocket.
Speaker 2 (01:32:24):
Well, I'm gonna tell you I saw a couple of
guys played. I was in Green Bay for a few weeks.
Brett Farr broke damn that broke my hand a couple
of times, gloves that were torn off, But Brett Brett
knew how.
Speaker 3 (01:32:35):
To speed it up and he could spend it down.
Speaker 2 (01:32:37):
Troy Aigman could throw a fastball, but Troy threw a
catchable ball. Dan Marino, I'm gonna tell you, when you
stood on the sideline, you wanted to watch.
Speaker 6 (01:32:44):
Him for the week.
Speaker 7 (01:32:46):
The ball would come out.
Speaker 3 (01:32:47):
But there was something about those guys that could play.
I mean, so, I've seen a lot of quarterbacks.
Speaker 2 (01:32:51):
That had cannons for arms, but I've also seen guys
like Don Mkowsky who didn't have the strongest arm. But
when Don was, you know, in his heyday with Green Bay,
and even when he got to us, magic could really
spin it. You just got to know, you know, you
love guys that know how to play the game and
know how to get the ball to you.
Speaker 3 (01:33:08):
Jeff George was another one guy.
Speaker 2 (01:33:10):
Well, sometimes I practice the ball didn't hit the ground,
but when it got to the game, it wasn't the
same thing.
Speaker 8 (01:33:15):
It just it just didn't translate to Charles Arbuckle, the
Colts analysts as well joins us on the Eddy Moore
Automotive Group highlight the former Colts tight end. So what
do you make of this matchup coming up at Lucas
Oil Stadium. You've got defensive coordinator offensive coordinator formerly on
the same staff. Is there anything meaningful in preparation behind
(01:33:39):
that from two dudes that know each other as well
as Gannon and stychn do.
Speaker 2 (01:33:45):
Yeah, it does, Jamby, because they match witched against each other.
They've they've talked about offense and defensive football. They battled
each other in that capacity. So there are some things
that you know as a tendency of things they like
to fall back on, even though the person is different.
Right at the end of the day, you kind of
have a mindset as a play caller, if you're a
(01:34:05):
defensive play caller or an offensive play caller, for things
that guys like to do or what they have a
tendency to do, and I think that's what you have
to guard against when you're looking at a game like this.
Speaker 3 (01:34:15):
The thing was psyching, though.
Speaker 2 (01:34:16):
I think he's been able to really play some tough defenses,
like the one defense in particular I thought he did
a good job against was those guys over at you
with Denver. Denver is a team that has a really
good offense or really good defense, and they were still
able to score points. So that's the thing that I
liked about that particular game, and I think that's going
(01:34:37):
to do the same thing. This Cardinals defense is really
really tough. And I'm outside at a hospital, so pardon
me for the noise in the background, but I think
from a defensive standpoint, Lou has an understanding of this
was Tyler Murray, even if he's limited, he's a guy
you have a staff his lege and if Jacobe Brissett,
the some of the guys on the team have an
(01:34:59):
understanding what he does and what they're going to have
to do to stop him.
Speaker 8 (01:35:05):
It's Charles Arbuckle of Andy Moore on the Mother Group
plot line. I would absolutely agree with that that particular assessment.
I also think the Cardinals aren't Charles. Defensively especially they've
looked bad because their fourth quarters recently have looked really bad.
But this is a team that may be only having
(01:35:26):
a couple of recognizable names. They can be up if
they get down to it.
Speaker 2 (01:35:32):
Well, I agree with you that from me from a
standpoint of such a football team, they got some dudes
that can get after you. And Klais Thompbull Old this
is about one hundred years old now still playing. I mean, yeah, yes,
Buddha Baker, who just one of those guys that's been
just really really good at a high level for a
long time. You know, they on every level, they have
(01:35:55):
guys that you don't always think about with big names,
but just productive, productive players. You know, the Colts are
gonna have their work cut off for him against this defense. Mean,
they're gonna really have to play. And I think you
hit the nail on the head. Not a lot of
name guys, but a lot of guys that have some
productive stats and can play and the force you to
not make mistakes.
Speaker 4 (01:36:18):
Buck, Why are we seeing players continue to not know
how to hold the football long enough to get into
the end zone.
Speaker 2 (01:36:26):
Man, That, for the life of me, I don't understand
that one. I think it's just you've got no matter
how much you coach it. I don't know how many
guys want to start thinking about their celebration. And what's
interesting think about how many celebrations cam binam has had.
Speaker 3 (01:36:41):
Or Kenny Moore, and they've been defensive guys. I think
they value the ball a little bit more.
Speaker 2 (01:36:47):
I've never really seen a defensive guy let the ball
down too so on because he doesn't get it as
much offensively. We're so used to catching it and running
with it, no excuses, But it just seems to be
one of those things, no matter how much you coach it,
a guy is thinking more about the celebration than the
actual finishing of the play. You got all that room
in the end zone, just get to the back of
(01:37:08):
it and then you can do whatever the hell you
want to do.
Speaker 4 (01:37:12):
It's ten yards deep in the end and granted, like
trust me, except for junior high, I've never crossed that
goal line and had that moment. And when a guy's
going in for maybe his first career score and there's
so much going on, you've just made a great play.
But it's just perplexing to me that you can't make
sure you're well and good inside that door before you
(01:37:33):
start doing anything besides running with the ball high and tight.
Speaker 2 (01:37:38):
Yeah, it blows me away to see that continuously happen.
But I think I will say this, I think it's
going to make ad Mitchell better. It's going to teach
him how and looking what I mean, Jonathan Taylor have
more time in the league, so I think it was
easier for him, but that was still a hard thing
and he even has to answer the questions about it now.
(01:38:00):
At the end of the day, I don't I would
be shocked if we see any other cult players do
it this year. Now I can't say about next year,
but if it happens, I would want to know what
repercussions would.
Speaker 3 (01:38:13):
Be, because you know you can't do that. You can't
give away the touchdown that you worked so hard to get.
Speaker 4 (01:38:21):
Well, last week, when a Mari de Mercado did it
for the Cardinals, coach coach Gannon let him up on
the sideline and he gets fined one hundred thousand dollars
for getting into him and kind of giving him a shove.
I know when you, I know you probably got coached
up a lot different than folks get coached up nowadays.
And to me, I liked it when a coach was
(01:38:41):
rough on me and let me know, let me know
that I made a mistake. How do you think how
would you react to a coach if you made a
bonehead play, if he let you up. How would you
have taken that back in your day?
Speaker 3 (01:38:53):
Well, I had it happen quite a bit.
Speaker 2 (01:38:55):
The only thing with Danon is when he pushed him
and you know and he I think there's a certain
time and a place too. And I've had coaches that
are litt me up and nobody even knew they did.
Speaker 3 (01:39:05):
Because there's a way you.
Speaker 2 (01:39:06):
Can do it when you can get in their face
and you just you let them know and put the
fear of God in them. But when you start proving
your head and then you push the people like I
mean hell, I mean here, we all have been cussed
out and we looked at it like whoa nobody else
saw but choose. So I think there's a way you
do it. And then definitely when you finish that game,
(01:39:27):
because you might need that kid or whatever it is
some more. You don't want to you don't want to
take away what you know he has. And I've seen
coaches dress somebody down.
Speaker 3 (01:39:36):
But they come back and say, hey, look I need
you back in this or that might have been too much.
Speaker 2 (01:39:41):
I might have gave you too much, but you know,
in the heat of the moment.
Speaker 3 (01:39:43):
That's gonna happen.
Speaker 2 (01:39:44):
So yeah, it's a it's a sport that happens like that, man,
and it's hard, especially when the margins of winning are
so tight.
Speaker 8 (01:39:54):
Hey, Charles, before I'll let you go, the coach had
an opportunity early on to get your main pratt. He
goes to the Raiders and then they cut him loose
last week and the Colts pick him up on a
one year deal to assumingly play opposite with Joe Botchi
going down on ir with a foot injury.
Speaker 4 (01:40:11):
Zaire Franklin, do you think this is going to work?
Speaker 8 (01:40:15):
And this is one of those situations where what the
hell you might as well with somebody that knows the defense,
and lou Anarumo as well as your main pratt might.
Speaker 2 (01:40:26):
I think it's a good place for them to be
because I think your main pratt is a guy that
can make a difference for him. And I think the
other thing you got to look at here is that
he has been so productive where he's been. Now, the
key for them is how do you get him up
the speed and ready to play that second linebacker. That
week'side linebacker has not played consistently well, and I think
(01:40:48):
that's the thing you have to look at if you're
the Colts fans.
Speaker 8 (01:40:52):
Charles Rbuckle, Colts Radio Network college football analyst and friend
of the show former Coats tied end on the end
More Automotive Group plotline. Appreciate you hopping on today, man.
We'll do it again. Enjoy the games this weekend and
we'll catch up next week.
Speaker 2 (01:41:08):
Charles, Thank you, hey man, thanks a lot enough for
all those folks that have been dealing.
Speaker 3 (01:41:12):
With breast cancer or any kind of cancer.
Speaker 1 (01:41:15):
Yet the much for it.
Speaker 2 (01:41:16):
So let's make sure we think about those trucks.
Speaker 6 (01:41:19):
You got that right, Thank you, Charles, Thank you.
Speaker 8 (01:41:23):
Charles Arbuckle is a tremendous dude on the Andy Moore
Automotive Group pot line. I was just telling the story
my friend Mike Alcorn, who works at Express pro tyan Auto,
came over to my house that I had to have
a battery out of the truck and into the truck.
And he used to deal with Charles in Carmbell Back
of the Day at that particular location.
Speaker 6 (01:41:43):
Mike is the best.
Speaker 8 (01:41:44):
By the way, Express pro tyroon Auto US thirty one
to stop eleven Row. Go in there, ask for Mike Man.
He will take care of you. But it is just
great stories about Charles. Charles is just a tremendous guy
and left an imprint on this community.
Speaker 6 (01:41:59):
And still there's a lot of Culture Radio Network stuff
as well.
Speaker 4 (01:42:02):
Yeah, a long time ago he would come on Fox
fifty nine and the segment I believe was called Breaking
it Down with Buck.
Speaker 6 (01:42:09):
He was good there.
Speaker 4 (01:42:09):
You can always tell guys when they're even when they're players,
like this guy's gonna be in TV or radio, are
now in podcasting. You can tell the guys that got
a bright future ahead, and he was definitely one of
those guys. And yeah, uh, personality and knowledge is what
you get from Buck.
Speaker 6 (01:42:22):
What do you think about the baseball postseason to date?
Right now?
Speaker 8 (01:42:25):
We got one more LDS Best of five, decisive fifth
and final game coming up to that.
Speaker 4 (01:42:31):
Schooble Scooball going tonight.
Speaker 6 (01:42:33):
You're a big Scooball guy, are you.
Speaker 4 (01:42:35):
He's kind of a hard ass, but I like him
he's good, and he knows he's good. He's not like
he's different. He gets compared to Skeens, like who's the
best picture in the game right now? I think Skins
just kind of lets his play do the talking. He'll
strike out the side and walk off the field, where
Scooba will kind of give you a gesture or you know,
mouth something at here. I like both of them, but
I do think I do think the Mariners will win tonight.
Speaker 8 (01:42:55):
It's weird, there's not a lot of consistency in another offense.
It's just like they'll explode for an inning or two
and then be dormant for the rest of the games. Really,
both sides of the time, you know what, John, That's
called the big Bang theory in baseball, and more than
seventy percent of the time, the team that wins a
baseball game will score more runs in one inning than
(01:43:18):
the other team scores the entire game.
Speaker 6 (01:43:19):
So that's why you don't like to in half last night.
You only that's what happens on.
Speaker 4 (01:43:23):
Yeah, the big game before that, the Cup scored four
in the first has more than the Brewers scored the
entire game. So that's why a lot of coaches don't.
They'll say, why don't you bun him over? You don't
like to do that because you get first and second.
Last night the Brewers had first and second, nobody out.
They bunted him over, gave up an out, they didn't score.
So go out there, use your three outs. In the end,
you're waiting for that big bang. You're waiting for that
(01:43:44):
one big inning. And I think that'll be the case
we see tonight and tomorrow in both these game fives.
Is what will be that one biginning when you put
up a crooked number and see who wins. Who's impression
the most? This postseason?
Speaker 8 (01:43:55):
Has it been La onto the NLCS again? Has it
been the Blue Jays already?
Speaker 4 (01:43:59):
A Blue Jays? I would say blue Jays. They really
should have swept the Yankees. The Yankees came back, but
I think the Blue Jays are the are the team
to beat. Yeah, across the board, and maybe not as
sexy for fans, maybe not a lot of fans that
know about them or like them here not a traditional team,
but uh, I know, as far as I know, as
far as ratings go on Fox, I know our GM
(01:44:21):
is very much a fan.
Speaker 8 (01:44:22):
Of the Chicago Cubs. I would imagine that to be true.
I will say this about the Blue Jays. You mentioned tradition,
and they have some notable traditional names of baseball. Oh yeah,
in the past, which is kind of cool. Now not
all their guys are playing right now, but you know,
obviously is yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:44:43):
When you're when you're at a when you're at a
bar like this, and you like to play games, you play.
If you're around Jay Querry, you'll play this. Yeah, I'm
gonna name a baseball team. You tell me the first
player that comes into your mind. I said Brewers, Brewers,
Cecil Cooper. Okay, if I said Cubs, Mike Vale, what
(01:45:04):
are you stupid?
Speaker 6 (01:45:04):
Mike Hale?
Speaker 4 (01:45:05):
Right, Sandberg, Larry Bittner, all right, No, you know Toronto.
I'm getting to that to get to this Toronto Blue Jays.
George Bell, George Taco Bell. Okay, here's the reason why.
Speaker 8 (01:45:18):
Because I get still a lot of my knowledge from
either baseball cards or stratomatic right, and it's always reverts
back to that particular era.
Speaker 4 (01:45:27):
I'm gonna do you, Houston Astros Jr. The same James
Rodney Richard. When I was in the first pro baseball game,
I went to My dad took us to Baltimore and
it was the Orioles played the Blue Jays, and I
got a program and some guy signed it, and it
was like twenty years later, and I'm like, Oh, I
wonder who signed this with the Blue Jays. I was
(01:45:49):
in the bullpen. I go it might be a Hall
of Famer. It was some yip y app name I
never heard of, So I don't know who's worthless autograph
I got, but I still have it from I liked
that playing that game.
Speaker 6 (01:45:57):
Let's do some more of that too.
Speaker 4 (01:45:58):
New York Mets Gary Carter.
Speaker 8 (01:46:01):
I was gonna say, Darryl s for you, but you
didn't say but Gary. See Gary Carter's more should be
more noted for the exposed than he is.
Speaker 4 (01:46:10):
Dodgers Many Mota, Steve Garvey is who I think I
like that Padres, Tony Win gotta be teasy right there,
Braves and I just say, Manny Malada Braves, Oh.
Speaker 6 (01:46:23):
A minute, I'm sorry? Who was I just what, Thomas.
Speaker 4 (01:46:29):
It's not the game of who's the most obscure player?
You can think of the most obscure, Like who do
people think I'd l Murphy?
Speaker 3 (01:46:35):
Al Murphy's my guy.
Speaker 6 (01:46:36):
All right, all right, got another one for you.
Speaker 4 (01:46:39):
Are you ready?
Speaker 3 (01:46:40):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (01:46:41):
Cardinals, Keith Hernandez than usual, Bruce Soiter, Yeah, gotta be
all right, quick Break will come back, Sam Silver Circle.
Speaker 3 (01:46:55):
More of that.
Speaker 8 (01:46:55):
We'll have to do that with NFL and NBA too.
Bought the tight fun game right there. That's going to
entertain everybody for hours. I think right here, Hey, I
did want to ask you this for our farmers that
are out there. I cannot remember this this legend, but
when the they're called woolyworms because I saw a ton
of them right across in the road, does that mean
(01:47:16):
anything as far as winter is concerned? Is there like
an urban legend of if you see a lot of
woolyworms crossing the road, it means a cold winner, or.
Speaker 6 (01:47:30):
Oh it's the strong all right?
Speaker 4 (01:47:31):
I was just kind of curious about I saw some
earlier today, and I.
Speaker 8 (01:47:34):
Kind of wondered what the woolyworms means in farmer's lore
around here.
Speaker 4 (01:47:40):
I like my idea of naming players better than my
worm question. You're yeah, yeah, I mean your angle was much.
Speaker 6 (01:47:45):
Better than mine.
Speaker 8 (01:47:47):
Quick Break Book come back, Harrison's your Park Race of
the day on the way in the next twenty as

Speaker 8 (01:48:29):
Fact that you're hanging out with a Sam Silver Circle
on a Budlight Blue Friday.
Speaker 6 (01:48:34):
Heygny, can you identify the song?
Speaker 3 (01:48:38):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (01:48:38):
Yeah, I believe it's uh Kenny Loggins. This is Loggins.
The title of the song would be, is this from
a soundtrack?
Speaker 9 (01:48:50):
It is?
Speaker 4 (01:48:53):
Is it from?
Speaker 8 (01:48:53):
Uh?
Speaker 4 (01:48:54):
It's not from a top gun? Is it top gun?
Speaker 5 (01:48:57):
It is?
Speaker 3 (01:48:57):
Is this?
Speaker 4 (01:48:58):
When they played volleyball.
Speaker 8 (01:48:59):
Play with as Kenny Logins the volleyball scene or Tom
Cruise played two man beats volleyball shirtless and jeans with
the iceman. He was the iceman. Neither one of them
could play a lick. But they looked pretty good right there.
And then Tom Cruise had to go because they had
(01:49:19):
to go. Give him a little McGillis.
Speaker 4 (01:49:24):
Good gravy.
Speaker 6 (01:49:27):
All right.
Speaker 8 (01:49:27):
The twenty twenty five Monon Spike match between Aye You

Speaker 8 (01:49:49):
You can go check out the Monon Spike match October

Speaker 4 (01:49:53):
All right, John, Because I'm a true friend and that
was never I would never post a picture of you,
of you eating a piece of steak, did you s
I know that?
Speaker 3 (01:50:00):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (01:50:00):
No, I just posted your photo of you from twenty fifteen.
Speaker 3 (01:50:04):
Is not that is? John?
Speaker 4 (01:50:07):
Mightys me?
Speaker 1 (01:50:07):
Right then?
Speaker 4 (01:50:08):
Since that is am I pregnant in this picture with
the twins?
Speaker 8 (01:50:13):
I remember when they were born. I'm having a baby,
having my baby. You look a little bit like Peter Griffin,
good Lord of Mighty. Hey, Lois, let's go to the track.
That's terrible.
Speaker 4 (01:50:25):
Look at you now, though, John, if ever, if ever
there was a five star endorsement recommendation.
Speaker 8 (01:50:31):
See seriously, somebody right now should send that to Thomas
in premiere way. Loss to go a minute if you
if you want to lose what this is what this
clown looked like in twenty fifteen.
Speaker 6 (01:50:42):
Right here?
Speaker 4 (01:50:43):
I think me and Des look pretty good though, and
Des looks outstanding right there. I think, yeah, those are
the good old days. Probably doing a remote out there
at the track. Look at my my hairs even whacked?
What did I just?
Speaker 2 (01:50:57):
What do I do?
Speaker 4 (01:50:58):
Did I sleep in the back of the van. There
was a lot going on. There was a lot going on. Yeah,
that's not a good look out of me right there,
is it? Sarah one of several people to say that's
not John. I think I may have some man moobs
working there too. I can say that is okay. If
you want to enjoy the photo, make sure you get
me a follow. That's at Chris Hagen, Indy, I Indy.
Speaker 8 (01:51:21):
You gotta admit though, the fact that I'd like the
whole steak eating thing. That's funny. You brought that up
at Sullivan's Steakhouse years ago. You didn't talk to me
for a month after it was two days you were
pissed and then I because I would always ask, but
you have done better? Now about Is it okay if
I post this picture lit?
Speaker 9 (01:51:38):
They do?
Speaker 4 (01:51:38):
Do you mind if I? Because you know, the Chris
Hagen brand is very valuable. You have to make sure
you don't do anything well. Let me tell you this
affect the integrity of the brand. The outside world has
no idea what I know and what I keep to
myself until he starts saying it right now. Because he
had a couple of mud lights, for instance, Hagen, I
would never ever say.
Speaker 8 (01:52:00):
Sam silver circle, but Lively Friday five pair of Cardinals
school stickets to give away. We would love to see
you here. There's still plenty of time. I know you've
got high school football tonight. Like cathedral fans. This is
like a cathedral bar. I know they're on the road
at Covington, Kentucky tonight too, But a lot of time
for you to stop by and enjoy this as well.
(01:52:22):
Two three nine ten seventy, Hey, James, is Adam still
available on hold?
Speaker 3 (01:52:26):
Right here?
Speaker 6 (01:52:26):
I want to make sure he's still there. He is, Adam.
Welcome to the show.
Speaker 4 (01:52:31):
How are you brother?
Speaker 3 (01:52:33):
Hey, how you doing John?
Speaker 8 (01:52:35):
We're just reminiscing about my twenty fifteen fat ass picture
right here.
Speaker 11 (01:52:39):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I've been I've been here at all
day today on the show.
Speaker 3 (01:52:45):
Hey, it's you go.
Speaker 11 (01:52:46):
When you got friends like that, you know, like my
friend that I've had for twenty years.
Speaker 3 (01:52:49):
That you've met.
Speaker 6 (01:52:51):
Oh know, man, what a change.
Speaker 8 (01:52:53):
I just asked the question, Hagen, who's that fat dude's
outstanding cher?
Speaker 6 (01:53:01):
What do you got? Adam?
Speaker 4 (01:53:01):
Go ahead?
Speaker 11 (01:53:03):
Well, I mean I'm hoping I got a couple of
things for you. I hope your mom had a good birthday.
I hope you guys had a good time. And yes,
I mean I'm hoping. I'm hoping we pulled this win
out because I mean we're looking good. You know, keep
the train rolling, I mean, why give up?
Speaker 3 (01:53:17):
Yeah?
Speaker 8 (01:53:19):
Uh you know this is this is one hey, Adam,
And before you close it out here, this is one
much like it was last week to where I mean,
you don't want to look back and have regrets about this.
Speaker 6 (01:53:32):
This is one of those games coming up to me
on Sunday.
Speaker 8 (01:53:34):
It looks like Kyler Murray did practice today, although I
think Jacoby Brissett did take some reps. But Kyler Murray,
Cardinals quarterback, was back at practice in Arizona earlier today.
Speaker 6 (01:53:46):
Just so you should know.
Speaker 3 (01:53:49):
That'll be all right. I'm sure we got we can
handle that, no problem.
Speaker 11 (01:53:52):
Big uh, Big Groves coming back, Alex Pearce and Deep
Threaps coming back. You got, Bucker. I mean we're good
to go. A couple more things. I'll be in Indy
tomorrow and then I got to shoot back for Sunday.
There's a five tam I'm doing tomorrow at Military Park.
Uh So it's gonna it'll be a trail, not trail,
it'll be a paved run from there all the way
(01:54:14):
through downtown gosh, the white Water White River area. Yeah,
and then back and then uh then I got to
shoot back Sunday for the football game. And then my
high school is coming out tonight at seven and oh
and hoping that we walk away with a winter that tonight.
Speaker 6 (01:54:31):
So where are you running along the White River? What
trail is that?
Speaker 11 (01:54:37):
I'm looking at it now and it says meandering alongside
the scenic river for advising escape while.
Speaker 3 (01:54:43):
I'm still in the heart of the Indian.
Speaker 8 (01:54:46):
You gotta jump off with some of the dudes passed
out down there too. It'd be like, yeah, it'd be
like what is a question in one of the horses
When you jump over stuff, you get like yeah and
do that. Yeah, steeple ch It's like a steeple chase
for you coming up this weekend.
Speaker 11 (01:55:04):
It says it's a three line military park followed the
course of West Daniel Home on the White River trail.
Speaker 4 (01:55:11):
Well, I can tell you this.
Speaker 8 (01:55:12):
If you run down like to the bridge Raymond Street
bridge over the White River, you can jump over some
dudes fast out down there.
Speaker 11 (01:55:19):
I mean, hell, if they're in the way, you know,
that's it's part of the race, you know what I mean.
Speaker 8 (01:55:24):
Yeah, it'd be like it. It'd be like steeple chase
a little horse right there, just you running.
Speaker 1 (01:55:30):
Challenge it up.
Speaker 3 (01:55:31):
I'm down for the challenge, all right. I'll see you Sunday. Brother.
Speaker 6 (01:55:38):
All right, man, you got it.
Speaker 8 (01:55:39):
Touchdown town for me. American Family Insurance touched that town
with the cult pre game huddle. Prior to that, we'll
start at nine am with Bullseye of ingroup dot com
and the Culture VIP Tailgate. Hey James, speaking of which,
since I just brought that up, you want to give
away a couple passes to bullsye Ingroup dot com Coach
v IP Tailgate coming up on Sunday right now.
Speaker 6 (01:55:59):
You want to do that again, Let's do that.
Speaker 8 (01:56:02):
Kyle Connett architects. This all you can eat, all you
can drink is a fantastic time. Kelsey Murphy has all
the food for you too. And I mentioned DJ Skids
who entertains on the JMV takeover with the Mini Mixes
also will entertain and Lauris Steel is going to MC there,
so it is going to be indoor outdoor, a fantastic time.
Number thirty at three one, seven, two, three nine, ten
(01:56:25):
seventy on our text line right now, Number thirty.
Speaker 6 (01:56:28):
Talk to James right here and James.
Speaker 8 (01:56:30):
Will set you up with a couple of passes with
Bullseyevinggroup dot Com and the Colts VIP Tailgate Sunday presented
by Hayes and Sun's Restoration Haygen.
Speaker 4 (01:56:39):
That's a fun that's a fun hang. When I've had
opportunities to go to that, I mean, you can't beat that.
That's legit. Unfortunately, I have a job and I have
to work on Sundays. I can't get into that's the
one thing I've been to so many venues across the
country for coltskated. You see opposing fans and they see you,
They're like, hey, you want to broad in a beer.
I'm like, I'm here to suit, I'm going to work.
(01:56:59):
This sucks, but it is fun to see at every venue.
You know how they have their pregame routines, and I
think Indy has one of the best time when you
talk about that tailgate.
Speaker 8 (01:57:09):
There all right, a little bit more seventy five chance
of precipitation in Egina coming up tomorrow, You think that.
Speaker 4 (01:57:16):
Effects how you whatsoever. Wet stuff. But that's the case.
We were talking about IU the other day in the
football program, and usually when you see things get turned around,
it's a gradual. They're getting better, they're doing it. But
Signetti gets there and they go to the playoffs the
first year here they are again top ten. I think
he's like fifteen and two since he's been there. His
only losses are the two of the two teams that
(01:57:37):
played for the national championship last year. So they've they've
beaten everybody they're supposed to. They've tried to hang out,
they've tried to hang around in the two team against
the two teams that beat them. So this will be
I mean, it's the biggest game in college football tomorrow.
I don't think you can argue that it's got Big
Ten implications as far as the championship game. It's got
playoff implications. Two teams that might be on their path
(01:58:00):
to maybe meeting again, not once, but twice. So I'm
excited to see what au brings to the table. I
don't think the weather, you know, really matters you both
teams playing the same thing. But let's see, so many
national doubters have been hating on the Hoosiers ever since
last year or they made the playoffs. Well here's another
chance to kind of make a statement and tell them
to shut the hell up.
Speaker 8 (01:58:20):
Is it something where you look at it, Are you
okay win or lose, as long as they don't get
blown out in the whole, you know, is old scheme
of things.
Speaker 4 (01:58:31):
It was the funny thing last year they didn't make
the Big Ten championship game, and that might have made
sure that might have kept them in the playoffs. So
I don't think they necessarily have to to make the
Big Ten title game to get in the playoffs, but
certainly given some of the national you know, storylines, you
don't want to go out there and get beat forty
seven to ten. But I think no matter, no matter
what the loss is like, if they run the table
(01:58:51):
from there on out, I think they're fine.
Speaker 8 (01:58:54):
Perdue Minnesota tomorrow, NC State, Notre Dame, Paul State, Western
Michigan all a part of these Saturday schedule here locally
as well. We got one decisive Game five alds later
on tonight with Detroit and Seattle. We talked about that.
What do you think about the Cubs in Milwaukee with
our own decisive Game five of the NLDS tomorrow night
in Milwaukee.
Speaker 4 (01:59:15):
Well, as we talked about earlier, the Cubs have been
living off one big inning. Could one big inning be
the difference tomorrow night? You and I know they always
talk about home field advantage, home court advantage, whatever the sport,
but it's gonna be You got to imagine it's going
to be electric up there in Milwaukee. So I think
for the Cubs, they're going to need to strike first,
like they have a couple of times. A big first
(01:59:37):
inning would go a long way. Put the pressure, you know,
the deeper you go into a game with the lead,
the more pressure you put on the bats, regardless of
the team. So I think the Cubs don't need to
fall behind earlier or else could get away pretty badly.
Speaker 6 (01:59:51):
You got that.
Speaker 4 (01:59:52):
And then obviously, by the way, by the way, Johns,
just so you know, you'll be able to watch that
Tigers Mariners game to on Fox fifty nine. You'll be
able to watch I you Oregon tomorrow on CBS four.
You also have Ohio State Illinois on Fox fifty nine tomorrow,
and then the Colts Cardinals Sunday on Fox fifty nine.
(02:00:13):
What more could you ask for?
Speaker 8 (02:00:14):
And soon to be you get to watch Jeopardy at
seven thirty when you guys own NBC.
Speaker 4 (02:00:20):
We're just gonna buy every TV such just everything, Yeah,
just buy everybody. I just get I get nervous because
the more stations we buy, the more actual talent there is,
you know, on the roster. And that's when I got it.
I kind of get sent into retirement a little early.
Depends on what you're talking about talent. So that's why
I'm enjoying as many freedoms I can't. Yeah, just why
(02:00:40):
don't why you do it? I mean, why it's here, Yeah,
it is. It is great though, CBS and Fox have
so many great things on TV as far as sports goes.
And you got John on Sunday Nights, a ratings always
a ratings winner on Sunday Nights where we talk to
J and V with or without pants giving his particular
mood that's zero pants. Yeah, and we're coming up on
(02:01:02):
I think I think I saw it. We're in the
middle of forty seven straight days with either college or
NFL football. We're coming up on those days where you're
going to have NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB all on the
same day. So this, if you're a sports fan like
all of us are, we're about to hit that sweet
spot of about two or three works, two or three
(02:01:22):
weeks worth of the best you can have.
Speaker 6 (02:01:24):
All right, Well close it out.
