Ridder under center ball on the left hash no stanky
leg on this play. He's rolling out to the right
now he's gonna set up shop to field. Picked off
by the Colts thirty twenty five, angling leaf twenty fifteen ten,
cutting right at the five into.

Speaker 5 (01:12):
The end zone, touchdown. The Colts dance their way in
for a defensive score.

Speaker 6 (01:17):
It's an interception and a house called by the Colts.
That's Daniel Scott who kniped into the pass from Desmond
Ridder and took it back to the house for a
defensive touchdown. It is second down and five for the
Bengals at the colts forty six yard line. Desmond Ridder
the quarterback out of the shotgun. De laid hand off
gives up the Milton big run again breaks it out.
He's at the thirty. He might go twenty ten and

(01:39):
he's pushed out of balance inside the ten and he's pushed.

Speaker 5 (01:42):
Out right around the five yard line.

Speaker 4 (01:45):
That's a gain of forty one yards for Kendall.

Speaker 6 (01:47):
Milton Ridder under center ball in the right hash this
time Milton is the loan back, Ridder quarterback keeper, and
he's across the goal line for a touchdown. He just
followed that center right into the end zone for a touchdown.
Leonard out of the gun, Bitley to is bright as
the back. They give it to Bentley.

Speaker 5 (02:04):
Then he's in there.

Speaker 4 (02:05):
Touchdown.

Speaker 6 (02:07):
Ulysses Bitley driving that Bitley across the goal line. Yes, sir,
and the Colts now lead at sixteen to seven. Thirty
eight seconds remain Leonard. Meanwhile, back's to throw on second
in ten, gonna loft one downfield for Treadwell. He's got
what it's like the twenty ten five and he walks
into the edd zone.

Speaker 7 (02:25):
Look one Treadwell, Yes, sir, bomb put right on the
money by Riley Leonard, and Treadwell made an over the
shoulder catch.

Speaker 6 (02:36):
It went over his right shoulder into the bread basket
and he walks in got behind the secondary for a touchdown.
Out of the gun, Bean Bean hands off to a
running back Bentley and he's into the end zone again,
untouched from twelve yards away, his second rushing touchdown of
the ballgame, and the Colts are pouring on on the scoreboard.

(02:56):
Now it's Indianapolis thirty and the Bengals seven.

Speaker 4 (03:00):
So Bean deploys three receivers.

Speaker 5 (03:02):
Left, one goes to the right.

Speaker 6 (03:03):
That's Parker, has a running back to his right to protect.
That's Nake one. Right, Bean, He's gonna move coleman Owen
closer to the formation. Shotgun snap for the quarterback. He
looks left over the middle of drives it upfield, catch
into the end zone, touchdown.

Speaker 5 (03:17):
Coleman Owen.

Speaker 6 (03:18):
Victory formation and the preseason finale in Cincinnati belongs to
the Indianapolis Colts.

Speaker 5 (03:25):
The clock will run out and the final.

Speaker 6 (03:27):
Score today in Cincinnati at pay For Stadium on the
Rue Morgan scoreboard will be the Indianapolis Colts forty one,
and that Cincinnati Bengals fourteen.

Speaker 5 (03:36):
That is Matt Taylor, that is Joe right SIMJMV. That
was the Colts Radio Network. This is a three hour
program or we described to you, where we have conversations
with you exactly what you witnessed. If you wants that
in its entirety. Maybe you didn't. Maybe you just heard
the rumors regarding Riley Leonard. And before we get started,

(04:00):
I don't want to downplay anything for you. And here's why, because,
holy hell, if there is a fan base that needs
to find some energy in whatever form or fashion it
might be, even if it is by virtue of a

(04:20):
preseason Game three, it would be you, guys, and your
good friend sitting right here being me recognizes that I
know that you need it, and it really doesn't matter
the spark for any fire and how it's created. It
just needs to be created. Otherwise you're just sitting there

(04:45):
going Holy hell. Maybe some different names occasionally a different situation,
but all of this crap is absolutely the same. So
I look back to Saturday and I'm thinking whatever floats
your boat and excitement, and then so be it. And

(05:05):
if we get to sit here and talk about how
you believe Riley Leonard should be the heir apparent here
relatively soon to the starting quarterback position with the Colts,
I'll hear it. I'm sure we'll discuss it. And because
I tell you that there's no way in the world
that's going to happen right now, and that would be

(05:26):
a really good start for a rookie quarterback where you
don't have a great deal of focus as to being
a leader of an organization in the world's most important
position in sports. I don't want to downplay it for you.
He had a fan. He did above and beyond what

(05:51):
you need to do to spark this discussion in that
situation on Saturday, That's what he did. Guys obviously are
smart enough to understand that everything else as a part
of this is entirely different, and it's going to be
different coming up a week from Sunday. But there's nothing

(06:11):
wrong with having this conversation, So I'll start right here.
What he did, again, is what you want to see, guys,
given those circumstances in that situation, do It's weird, right,
And we've said this before. It's like you're damned if

(06:32):
you do, because you're supposed to, and if you don't,
you're an absolute disaster. You're a mess. So this doesn't
equate to Anthony Richardson being on the trading block anymore
than the Raiders needing a quarterback and is Anthony Richardson available?

(06:54):
None of that. It means that just maybe maybe we
can see them develop a quarterback. Hold on it. I
said the big D word right there, develop develop a quarterback.
And listen, I understand third string quarterback. And you're saying,

(07:15):
is he going to end up on the practice squad?
Will somebody get him? Hoach him if he's on the
practice squad? There again, as I brought it to Jake,
there are some similarities to that of Chad Kelly. We've
gone through that, or to Sam Ellinger, the late Jim irsay,
absolutely love Sam Ellinger. We know that to be true

(07:38):
to the point where in the disaster of what was
at twenty twenty two that they all run together by now.
But you know, in that particular season of disaster, you
give it a shot, you give it an opportunity. But
needless to say, we all would understand this, even with
the excitement and it doesn't necessarily have to be a

(07:59):
Notre Dame fan. Is weird? I thought in watching that game,
and I know that I'm just making the basic connection
between he and Fairhope Alabama and his relationship with Philip Rivers.
You did see some similarities. And I'm going to give
you reason to be excited because that ball to Treadwell

(08:22):
when you look back on it. And I know I
sound drunk, and I'm not. Later on this will week,
I will be, but I'm not now. That ball to
Treadwell may have been the best thrown ball that we
have seen by a Colts quarterback in how long anybody

(08:46):
can I see a show of hands three one, seven, two, three, nine,
ten seventy inside our text line. And I'm not a
Notre Dame fan. I'm not making a loud of it
because he's a former Notre Dame quarterback or anything like that.
I'm just going in terms of the ball that was thrown.

(09:07):
You could not have jogged down the field and placed
it in Treadwell's hands any better anymore accurately. That may
have been the best thrown football that I have seen
around here in years. I was trying to think and
I don't know why it all runs together, especially all

(09:29):
the bad all the bad measures together, and there has
been so much of it. And I know everybody thinks
about Anthony Richardson in the sixty yard are off the
back foot and all that stuff, But you know, I'm
always kind of going back. I think about the Wentz
ball to what's his nuts in the end zone the
Christmas night game in Phoenix against the Cardinals, in the

(09:50):
back of the end zone. I kind of think about
that ball, how it got through. But this was on
the run, I mean, right in stride with Treadwell. It
was literally one of the best thrown passes by a
Colts quarterback that we have seen. Now, that's all great
to be excited about it. It's also incredibly sad when

(10:11):
you think long and hard about it. But that's what
I felt at that moment. I go, Wow, that's about
a good ball is going to see thrown or sure
as hell, we've seen thrown around here in the years,
but it all remains the same. We've all been through
this before. But I am glad that you're excited because

(10:34):
the one thing that he had to do that he
did do on Saturday, he looked like a guy that
belonged playing quarterback in the NFL. He went out there
and did with threes and fours against threes and fours

(10:58):
what you had to do to get people talking. It's weird.
I revert back to a film, remember the film and
a semi biography regarding the pitcher Jim Morris, The Nutball.
Dennis Quaid played the lead. And I say nutball because

(11:20):
he's been on the show before, and I think he
was incredibly stoned. He's not the only person that's ever
been stoned, and you'd be surprised some of the people
that have been on the show stoned before, but I
think he was stoned. It was an interesting interview, but
it was Dennis quad Dennis Quaid played the role of
Jim Morris, who you remember in that film about Jim

(11:41):
Morris for the Tampa Bay Rays years ago being a
teacher and then being an old guy and getting a
shot and then ultimately playing in Major League Baseball for
the Rays. And he went to try out and get
a look see by the Rays. That's some try camp
in Texas. And the guy that was catching and said, hey,

(12:04):
you know, you got people talking. You got people talking,
and of course he dismissed it. I'm an old fart.
We sit here and dismiss it. Third string, fourth string guys,
who cares. But he got people talking, and that's a

(12:24):
good thing because normally when we're talking around here, especially
about that position, it has rarely been anything positive. So
we have that going for us. I don't know what
that's going to equate to, if anything whatsoever, Probably absolutely nothing.
But he got people talking, and he looks like he

(12:47):
can play the position. He looks like he belongs out there,
he looks like he knows what he's doing. All these
things that have been really unfamiliar for us around here
regarding that position over the years. He showed that. I
think we understand the scope in which we did see it,
but he did show that, and that was good. Seriously,

(13:14):
the best pass we have seen from a quarterback around here,
and how long out of curiosity, like Josh has sent
me this at three one seven, two, three, nine, ten seventy,
it's okay to say it. It looked like to throw
look what Luck would have. I didn't even think about

(13:36):
Andrew Luck like I didn't I And again I'm going
to revert back to what I had mentioned because of
his his relationship with Philip Rivers in the whole connection
in Fairhope, Alabama, I thought more about Philip Rivers. I thought,
when Philip Rivers was here, he was as professional a

(13:56):
player and especially quarterback as we've seen it. Remember, Philip
Rivers reminded us with his professionalism of Manning and how
he went about his business. He reminded us of Peyton Manning.
I'm not saying you put up numbers like Manning or
but he reminded us with his professionalism of Peyton Manning.

(14:19):
I thought Riley Leonard reminded us of Rivers because of
a lot of that. That's what I saw more than
anything else. But it's an easy connection to make because
of their relationship. But I didn't think about luck. I
was thinking about luck yesterday with Frank Reich and Stanford

(14:42):
and clock management. I was thinking about that, but I
did not think about that in terms of luck, if
that makes sense. I love this JMV. I was there
with your boy Noah. See, there needed to be Chris.

(15:03):
There needed to be a good reason why my boy
Noah's asked didn't show up to play hoop yesterday morning.
I mean, hell, James Boyd, for goodness sake, showed up
like two weeks in a row now, James for James Boyd,
and he was salty yesterday he was salty, a little
bit mouthy. It's all good though, everybody. Everybody's good with it.

(15:26):
But I was hoping, Chris, that there was a good
reason my boy Noah didn't show up and play ball.
You were in Cincinnati with Noah and you thought that
that pass was quote party because it was.

Speaker 8 (15:44):
Jam V.

Speaker 5 (15:45):
There's nothing wrong with having a conversation about Riley Leonard. However,
people need to remember that he wasn't playing against starting
NFL teams, and that's exactly what I'm trying to tell you,
while also not taking a whiz and putting out your
camp fire continued. Just like in the NBA, someone who

(16:06):
scores a lot of points against the third string doesn't
translate to being an All Star against other teams starters.
We need to temper our hopeful fail. I think we
all understand what's going to be the outcome, but I'm
not going to squash any enthusiasm from any fans around
here because it has been at the lowest level in
which I have ever seen it. While doing radio. So

(16:28):
I'm not going to squash it. We can talk about it.
I know the outcome. You guys know the outcome, but
I'm not going to squash it. I'm not going to
tell you it was make believe because it was real.
We did see it. But that's why I have to
fully inadequately explain where this thing is right now because

(16:55):
people are going to get this twisted. It doesn't mean
he's going to start. It doesn't mean he's going to
compete to be a starter, doesn't mean he's going to
be the next Brock Perdy hence Purdy from Chris and
doesn't mean Anthony Richardson's traded before the start of the
season to the Raiders who need a quarterback, doesn't mean

(17:16):
any of that, doesn't mean he's gonna unsee Daniel Jones.
Does not mean anything whatsoever other than he had a
really good game. When a guy like that you hope
to see have a really good game, And frankly probably
threw the best thrown ball from a Colts quarterback we
have seen in ages, which pretty much tells you about

(17:40):
our situation around here over the past more than a
handful of years. That's what that is.

Speaker 8 (17:50):
Jam Vy.

Speaker 5 (17:50):
Your best point about Riley was he was in the
game of threes and fours against threes and fours. That said,
he did look like you could be a good backup.
I think he has a place with the Colts, and
that's the very reason. See, I remember going through this
and people had these similar thoughts regarding Chad Kelly. And
remember they dropped his ass on the practice squad. Oh

(18:12):
my god, the practice What are we gonna do? And
nobody wanted him. I'm not suggesting that nobody would would
go out and get Riley Leonard if he were made
available to poach on the practice squad. But we've had
these similar conversations, and all I'm doing is telling you
and describing to you the type of game that he

(18:33):
had and the reason why you have excitement and the
reason why that's okay. But we don't live in La
la land. I mean, we do live in the real
world here, and I think we all understand what right now,
this equates to nothing changes and one of these days

(18:55):
if it is, if you're able to unearth a talent
and this fashion that's rock Purty esque, then so be it.
But there is a long way to go, and we'll
see what happens. We can discuss that. I know a

(19:16):
lot of Riley Leonard fans. Again, I'm not trying to
squash your enthusiasm about this whatsoever. Do not charge me
with that. Yeah, I'm thinking about this day four years ago,
the passing of our good friend Robin Miller. I know
our friend Danny Bridges may want to jump on here
at the end of the show, James, so I'll give

(19:37):
you the number. See if we get ahold of Danny.
Danny actually caught up with me in the press box
going back to last week before the Packer game. Hadn't
mentioned this, and I knew that it was coming. But
four years ago today, Robin Miller passed away. And he
was a great friend to us all. He was an
incredible resource that I could never properly think for what

(20:03):
he has done for me and my show, because I
remember when I was over at the other station, and
you know, and r got himself banned from a variety
of stations. I think this was one of them right here,
not this one now, but when it was owned by
the people that got out of radio and trying to
sell this building, and you know, I gotta get more yachts.

(20:23):
Now he was when he was when it was owned
by them, I think they banned him, and and over
on Fall Creek Road they they banned. He was banned, banned, banned,
And I thought, well, this is all just a big,
high level of jack assery. So the first thing I
did when I got over here was say, you know, well,
I gotta get R on the show. And if you remember,

(20:46):
I got R immediately when I came over here. I
got R on the show with Tony George together, and
that was outstanding stuff. But he became such not just
content and the great guest on the show, but just
a really good friend. And four years ago R Miller

(21:09):
passed away. Now I was thinking about this because I
think it was Jeremy Bullard from Shelbyville or Shelby County
at least, had sent me. He sent me a Facebook
message that Becky had sent out over a workingman's friend
off of belm On on the West side over there
about somebody tearing up their longtime workingman's friend PEPSI signed,

(21:36):
and so I thought, and people were saying, well, you know,
we can help you out, we can do this. Whatever
I was thinking about, whomever this person is. They may
never be caught. You may never know who it is
because I'm quite sure Becky doesn't have cameras out there
and nobody's going to be able to see anything, but
you can damn straight. R Miller Wherever R. Miller is

(21:59):
alert is going to take care of that. This person
is going to be haunted because that was ours most
famous place for real incredible R. Miller four years ago today.
And we also observed the passing of Forest Lucas, the

(22:22):
namesake of Lucas Oil Stadium, raised in southern Indiana, built
grew his own company just to an incredible level, well,
a self made tycoon, I think in the neighborhood of
five hundred million dollars somewhere like that, just an incredible entrepreneur.

(22:47):
Forced Lucas passed away at the age of eighty three.
That is obviously of significance. That took place this past
weekend as well. All right, two three nine ten seventy.
I got that number. You want to join in, we
would love to have you the text line three one
seven two three nine ten seventy as well. Yeah, I

(23:08):
did see the Black Keys last night. For those asking,
it was an absolute pack venue anybody that had a
beard outside. I guess James didn't go. James is the
only bearded male that was not at that show last night?
You're the only one. Did you know that? I didn't
know when you were sitting at home last night, the

(23:28):
only dude in Central Indiana with a beard that didn't
go to that show.

Speaker 9 (23:30):
You know, I could sense something was amiss, but I
couldn't quite pin it down.

Speaker 5 (23:34):
The only dude with a beer bird. I say, beer
or beard? You said beer beard? Da, That's what I
mean right there? Beard? Yeah, I really, I'm so glad
that we don't have to hit this on a national
Can you imagine if I had to sit here for
three hours? I know, I know you're gonna say, well

(23:56):
you have you got to talk about quartersback situations all
the time? That where is everybody out? Can you imagine
having to talk about Shadir Sandras all the time? Oh
my god? What don't you may even be more worn
out than you are the way that it is. It's
a true story. Shane Steichen, Chris melland what's he meet

(24:19):
with the media is that tomorrow? Check that up, James.
We've gotta make sure somebody asks if he's coming on
the show. I would doubt it, highly doubt it. I
think that is tomorrow Wednesday, one of the two. Hey,
by the way, we have a big week planned out

(24:42):
for you. You guys ready, you guys want to follow
my lead like the pied piper right here, We have
a big week planned out for you. Cannot wait? All right?
Strain the app at HD Radio. You have the text
line at three one seven, two, three nine, ten seventy
what was a fantastic weekend? As well? Well? Document that.

(25:06):
And every time I see a pacer playoff highlight, I'm sorry,
I stop and I watch. I've seen it over and
over and over again, but I stop and I watch
Happy Birthday to the legendary Reggie Miller as well, the
former pacer. I was just thinking about that the other day.
Every time a PACER's playoff highlight happens for the season,

(25:28):
I stop and I watch, Oh ECR with a big win,
Alex Polo to Red Bull Racing and F one, we
got a lot for you on this show. Ryan Wilson
of CBS, we'll talk a little NFL with him coming
up at the four o'clock hour, and Steven Holder of
ESPN on ESPN dot com. All good to go on
this Monday. Don't go anywhere the stream of the app.

(25:49):
It's AHD Radio the Triple A Membership Lounge via YouTube live.
Now is the time to become a Triple A member.
I mean seriously, do that now, all the perks and
somebody that has your back on the open road Triple
A dot Com. Become a member today. Ninety three to
five and one oh seven five Fan.

Speaker 4 (26:09):
The Ride with JMV play him played that to me
and his money. Ninety three to five and one oh
seven five the Fan.

Speaker 5 (26:19):
All right. My official opinion on the Black Keys. That's
the first time I've ever seen him last night really good,
very good entertaining band. So how do they do this
guitar sound with this reverb thing right here? That's reverb?
I have no idea really, Dan Hurback, Patrick Carney the

(26:44):
duo Black Keys from Akron, Ohio, Gary Clark Junior last
night open He's very talented. But again, producer James Adams
the only man in Central Indiana with a beard that
was not at that show? Impressive? What made you not
want to attend? You and your beard?

Speaker 9 (27:04):
I normally I don't go into music that isn't, you know,
extremely heavy, especially for live shows. But I guess I
guess I are.

Speaker 5 (27:11):
Talented man, They're at talented bunch. That place was packed.
I'm glad it was ever Wise. I have no idea
why that wasn't at Ruoff. I thought you'd probably sell
more tickets of Rule Off too, But I'm glad it
was it. Never Wise place is packed. I saw a
lot of you guys out there. I saw the incredibly
lovely and talented Christy Lee of The Bob and Tom Show.

(27:33):
Had some time to spend with her. That was great.
Shout out to Doug Wigan. That took me. Shout out
to Doug Wigan. That shook me loose, because you know,
Sunday is my day of sitting poolside and drinking, which
is exactly what I did. I needed a little bit
of motivation. Yeah, yeah, you guys are asking, so, hey,

(27:58):
this whole pool stuff. How's this going to happen if
the pool temperature is going to be cold, because the
temperatures in the air are you know, fifty one degrees
maybe upper forties overnight lows later on this week, we
have a way. Jeff Watson is a genius, so we
may have to pump some hot tub water to the pool.

(28:22):
I'm not quite sure how that's going to work, but
we're going to doer. We've got it done now. Black
Keys great show last night and Gary Clark Junior is
incredibly talented to do. But the place is packed. So
a lot of you guys out there. Good to see you.

Speaker 10 (28:39):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (28:39):
College football is officially underway with week zero, which is
weird this past week, but we're into it. Coming up
this week in Ball State, Purdue, Old Dominion and Indiana
on Sunday sixth ranked Notre Dame, tenth rank Miami Thursday,

(29:03):
by the way, Indiana State and McKendree over in the
thh Butler Northern Iowa. Oh, I love what do they
call this? The Indianapolis the Mariyan game. Scott McCauley's the

(29:25):
voice of Marying. I like Scott McCauley a great deal.
I forget what he describes it in the commercial roles. Here,
is it the monumental matchup or something like that? Coming
up on Thursday? You Indy and Marion. That's outstanding. That's
going to have a great deal of local flavor. Both
of those squads are hacked full of local talent. And

(29:46):
speaking of which, Friday Night night number one outstanding in
high school football. There were some good there were some bad.
East It's a damn good thing they played Week number
one across the street from the casino, because that's exactly

(30:09):
what my friends down in GC would have to do
after that game. But a lot of good games, a
lot of good matchups in Brownsburg impressive, I CG was impressive.
A Warren's going to be back. Don't don't sweat Warren
for a minute. Yeah No, Martinsville was an odd start

(30:32):
against Bedford and Lawrence too. Yeah, all good, Bob love
a week number two coming up on Friday show. I'll
explain where we're going to be coming up later on
this week too, out and about and plenty of opportunity
not just for one appearance with us, but multi appearances
with us later on this week and this weekend. I

(30:56):
love this, jaylaw says. The oasis, the fu Bar lounge
is heated to a nice eighty seven degrees. I would
jump into that immediately, have to jump back out and
take a whiz because it would make me want to
have to go to the bathroom with my small bladder
and all that's from Alan JMV. Although it was called back,

(31:17):
the Leonard pass was the best since last week's ar
to Anthony Gould against Green Bay. I've said this, I
thought the Riley Leonard pass was the best pass from
a Colts player that I have seen in years. I'm
not suggesting it's going to lead to anything, nor should it.
I understand the circumstances. I know who was on the field.

(31:38):
I get all of that. I'm just talking about, simply put,
the pass play was as good with the throw the
touch on the football as we have seen it thrown
by anybody in years. Damvy, I'd say Leonard is more
of a duke quarterback to play the year Notre Dame.

(32:00):
He did take Notre Dame pretty far, but it was
a year Notre Dame fans would disagree. James T says
Ridley Leonard can play. He did lead Duke to a
bowl game before getting hurt, and then Notre Dame to
the title. Tilty year ago. Not surprised that he had
a good preseason game. And that's the thing about it too, James,

(32:20):
you don't want to be surprised. The surprise would be
if he sucked. This is doing giving people reasons to
talk favorably. Holy hell, are we in need of that
around here? That was a lot of the point to
that opening segment two three nine ten seventy. Let's leave

(32:41):
with Mike and Brooklyn right here. Mike, what did you
come up with as far as Saturday and going into
cutdown day tomorrow and then Balor's meeting with the media
on Wednesday?

Speaker 11 (32:53):
Oh he is, okay, Yeah you go.

Speaker 5 (32:55):
Are you gonna be there?

Speaker 11 (32:57):
Oh well, I'll be listening to because I.

Speaker 5 (32:58):
Guarantee you there's one place he won't be it's here.

Speaker 1 (33:03):
I thought it was odd, he I thought it was
odd that we've seen a little at Dodds at the
end of training.

Speaker 5 (33:09):
Yeah, yeah, you did mention that on the show. You did.

Speaker 11 (33:13):
Yeah, I don't know.

Speaker 1 (33:14):
I don't know if something's brown, I don't know. But
you know, listening at the battle that I know pretty
much we can all extrapolate how it's going to go
pretty much. So but as far as Riley Lennard goes,
you know, I'm witch on everything, But uh, what what
an impressive kid? Like when you listen to him, like
I think we underrate, you know, underestimate, like how his perspective,
you know, on the it's.

Speaker 5 (33:35):
Like like Philip Rivers liked and that's why I like
Philip Rivers, just like Philip Rivers was, you know, as
professional quarterback since manning around here. To me when when
he would that's that's what that reminded me of. It
sounded like that he'd been tutored incredibly well.

Speaker 1 (33:52):
Yeah, and it's like, you know, all the things that
they say about you know, Anthony Richardson as far as
you know, not knowing what he doesn't know, you kind
of feel like, you know, this kid knows exactly what
he's getting himself into. He knows exactly what's expected of him,
and he's going to be moving forward now. Like you said,
you can't you know, jump the gun on anything. But
it's a nice thought. You know, he looked really good

(34:13):
and you know, the attitude like that. But the question
is what's your gut telling you with this whole Anthony
Richardson thing, because I don't listen to these most of
these talking heads and yeah, and I don't pay attention
to like you know, I mean balin a stike and
are going to be saying, but what is.

Speaker 11 (34:30):
The confidence level? Is this really? Like behind the scenes,
Is they really kind of just like, hey, this is
never going to work out.

Speaker 5 (34:37):
And maybe if they were, if they were speaking like
I would speak right now, Mike, here's what they would say.
They would say, screw this guy until we needed so,
if you have to break glass and bring him out
to play, then you will. But clearly their belief is,

(34:58):
you know what, we gotta win. We gotta win right now.
And I don't care if we drafted a number four.
I don't care if I pounded the table and I
could take this on and I could develop and mold
him into an elite level quarterback with all that laugh
let us says, I don't care if all that right
now is complete. Bs, We're gonna go with Daniel Jones

(35:20):
because our belief is he gives us the best opportunity
to win right now. That is so Anthony Richardson to
them is completely on the back burner. Now he is
back there, he's clipboard and clapping, and that's what he's
doing and that's until further notice, that's what he's going
to be doing.

Speaker 1 (35:41):
And yeah, I'm just interested to see if they're maybe
thinking about maybe making a move, if they're completely doing
them I don't know.

Speaker 11 (35:48):
I mean you.

Speaker 1 (35:48):
Touched on something last week with the whole Morocco Brown thing,
because I first heard that and the daughters took over
the team and Morocco Brown was bullfloaded. I immediately say,
that has definitely got to be a you got us
into this. You were the one that you know, was
pushing for this guy, and now he's no longer there

(36:09):
and that was a little that's a little too much
of a coincidence.

Speaker 5 (36:14):
Yeah, And there were a lot of dudes in that
room that were really excited about that and wanted to
take all the challenge of, you know, molding him into
an elite level quarterback that that in that process have
failed miserably to this point. So he wasn't the only one.

Speaker 1 (36:30):
Yeah, Well, like you said, we could take some positives
Olivia at that.

Speaker 11 (36:33):
I'm getting ready to take.

Speaker 1 (36:35):
My yearly taking a little week pick trip to Vegas
yes Wednesday, so uh, then get ready for this regular season.

Speaker 11 (36:43):
So maybe I'll check out with you.

Speaker 5 (36:44):
Are you you should? Do you ever come to Andy?

Speaker 11 (36:48):
I have never been to Andy?

Speaker 1 (36:50):
Uh, and uh, it's like I feel like I feel like,
you know, like in the Roman Empire. I'm like in
the provinces, the outposts like the Gladias that never actually
went to Rome.

Speaker 11 (36:59):
So I got to make the poke.

Speaker 1 (37:00):
I was looking to make the pilgrimage when they won
the Super Bowl. But I think I'm gonna have to
get to it because my buddy has come meeting me
in Vegas. He's in Dallas and he's going to meet
me in Vegas and Uh. He goes to Indy all
the time on business ships. You know, he's on a
business trip now and he loves Indy. He's like, you
gotta come, and I'm like, yeah, let.

Speaker 5 (37:18):
Me let me tell you this. If you ever come
to Andy, I will show you the red carpet treatment. Seriously,
now you know, the red carpet treatment by me is
getting drunk on hooch in the parking lot.

Speaker 11 (37:29):
Hey, listen, I told you we are we are up. Well.

Speaker 5 (37:34):
If you if you come to town, We're going to Bullseye.
We're going to UH with Brent Holverson on Thursdays. You're
going to bud Light Blue Fridays. You're going to it all.
I mean you, you will not. You will not believe
the fun that we have on a weekly bay. It
should be illegal to have this much fun, and hopefully
it's not because I'm not sure I've checked.

Speaker 11 (37:57):
Yeah, right back at you.

Speaker 1 (37:59):
You know, I think you said you had a buddy
of lives in Brooklyn, So you tell you some of the.

Speaker 11 (38:03):
You know, if you want to come to Brooklyn, you.

Speaker 5 (38:06):
Know, I'm gonna see all the all the Beastie Boys
hang out spots. Is there Paul's Tea in Brooklyn?

Speaker 1 (38:14):
A friend of mine went to, uh went to uh
actually know that was what's his name?

Speaker 11 (38:20):
It was? It was Pete Nice?

Speaker 5 (38:21):
Uh?

Speaker 1 (38:26):
Yeah, yeah, the Beastie Boys. Yeah, they were well they
were from like, uh, I think like central Like it
was like central Brooklyn.

Speaker 5 (38:34):
Were they awesome? Well, I'll tell you what. One of
these days, if you get here, you let me know.

Speaker 11 (38:38):
Yep, JAMESI, I would check in from Vegas. Yes, I
got a chance.

Speaker 5 (38:41):
You got all right, you got a buddy, So it's
all good. Thanks Mike, Mike and Brooklyn right there. Yeah,
Beastie Boy I could do a little. Beastie Boys toured Brooklyn.
Do you say Pete Nice? Pete Nice. There's a duo
in rap known as Third Base, and a lot of
you out there may have their most significant album of

(39:05):
all time. Which is the Cactus album. Step into the am, James,
can we come back with the gas face by third Base?
I think we need to come back with the gas
face because I'm sure a lot of you and certainly
this like when a lot of you were single and
you were trying to pick up to hook up, to

(39:27):
find that lady. I'm sure that you witnessed the gas
face from whomever a number of times. But we'll do
the gas face. The Cactus album was third Base, so
we had once upon a time MC Search was a
DJ in Detroit. I'm not sure if he still is
or not, but Search was on the show. And then

(39:48):
Pete Nice was a card collector and had a card shop,
athletic card shop. I thought it was somewhere in South Carolina.
Those guys at the time didn't get along, but I
think they mended some fences. I'm not sure where it
is right now, but awesome reference of third base right there,

(40:09):
quick break, We'll come back. Ryan Wilson of CBS has
an article about quarterbacks of the past they got a
second chance, and some are talking about Anthony Richardson getting
a second chance in a different organization because you feel
the Colts are looking to trade Anthony Richardson. We'll talk
to Ryan Wilson about that. Ryan Wilson about a lot

(40:32):
of other things in the NFL, and maybe even more important,
a bit of a shred on some of the quarterbacks.
All we do is talk about arch Manning this and
arch Manning that, when there is absolutely no evidence that
arch Manning is going to get clear of Austin after
this particular season. So other quarterbacks that could be that

(40:52):
might be coming up next year not named arch Manning.
Ryan Wilson, CBS Top for the Hour, Stephen Holder, ESPN,
ESPN dot com coming up after five uh two, three, nine,
ten seventy. You can call or you can text line
us that as well. We're not going anywhere. Triple A

(41:13):
Membership Lounge via YouTube Live A ninety three five and
one oh seven five The Fan, The Ride with JMV.

Speaker 4 (41:21):
We're not gonna fall for a banana and the tailpipe.

Speaker 11 (41:23):
You're not gonna fall for the banana and the tailpipe
because you'd be more natrue.

Speaker 4 (41:27):
Brother should flow out.

Speaker 5 (41:28):
Like this, Look man, I followf A no banana my tailpipe.

Speaker 4 (41:31):
Ninety three five and one oh seven five The Fan,
James the gas Face.

Speaker 5 (41:42):
Third base cutdowns coming up tomorrow. Chris ballad with the
media coming up Wednesday. I saw where Shane Steiken talk
to folks today. Mike Cheppell had this regarding Ashton duel
and dealing with a concussion and suffered in camp practice
progressing nicely. Mike also mentioned through Shane Stike, and several

(42:06):
players who've been rehabbing injuries should practice next week, Josh
Downs and Nick Cross being two of those that, according
to Mike Chapel from Shane Stike. In a little bit
earlier today, Ryan Wilson's got an article about second chances
for quarterbacks in the NFL. We'll talk to Ryan top

(42:26):
of the hour, Stephen Holder about what we just discussed
and cut down day tomorrow and stuff like yet coming
up at the five o'clock hour. Meantime. Bob wants to
hit upon one Riley Leonard at two three, nine, ten
seventy right now, Bob, Welcome to the show. Hello, Hello, Bob.

Speaker 8 (42:47):
Yes, I enjoyed the game. I believe that Lennard has
some ability to count. Remind me of a young Archie Manny,
because Archie Many had an arm he can throw, and
Eli his son seemed like he has adopted his dad's
playing styles. So there may be some people that may

(43:09):
not agree with me, but that's all right. We can
disagree and still love each other and enjoy live.

Speaker 5 (43:14):
So I'm trying not to squash everybody's good feelings right
now because they're just simply put. Bob hasn't been enough
around here, even though I think we all understand the
reality of the situation, don't we, Yes, sir, Yes we do. Bob.
Thank you for the call. I appreciate it. We not
have time for Big Dave's been on hole for a minute.
We got just big day. I'll tell you what, Big Dave.

(43:37):
Can I get Big Dave right after the top, Big Dave,
You're so special. We're gonna give you clearance at the
top before Ryan Wilson of CBS inside the Triple A
Membership Lounge via YouTube Live. I'm looking at you as well.
Our two straaighty ahead ninety three five one seven by
the Fan.

Speaker 4 (43:57):
The Ride with Jmvoy ninety three five and one oh
seven five the Fan.

Speaker 5 (44:07):
Oh, we get a big week Thursday, Friday, Saturday and
Paradise Day Watson Sunday. Who seriously, I'm gonna have to
go through like one of these Loud and Swain vision
Quest workouts to prepare properly for Thursday through Monday coming

(44:32):
up this weekend, I'm gonna be running in some like
uh me ran in that weird suit. Then he almost
quit because some smoking ass hot twenty two year old
drifting chick moved in with no bras to be found
in the basement below where he and his father lived.

Speaker 8 (44:51):
Me.

Speaker 5 (44:51):
Come on, I was fifteen years old, James. I go,
wait a minute, that does not resemble my existence whatsoever?
Why is this dude so damn lucky? All right, before
we get to Ryan Wilson, I want to get the
big day. Big Dave has been on hold way too long.
Big Dave, what he got?

Speaker 11 (45:10):
Well?

Speaker 12 (45:10):
I'm also from southern Indiana.

Speaker 10 (45:12):
Why are you really?

Speaker 2 (45:14):
Where at?

Speaker 5 (45:15):
Where are you from the heart of Lowick County?

Speaker 12 (45:19):
You bet?

Speaker 5 (45:20):
There used to be a football coach in Boonville named
Joe Amiano. Do you remember the name?

Speaker 12 (45:27):
Yeah? Great, a little Joe or.

Speaker 5 (45:33):
Can I ask you? Can I ask you a question?
Because his wife and my my mom went to Indiana
State together? Is he still alive? That sounds weird for
me to ask.

Speaker 12 (45:42):
I don't know.

Speaker 4 (45:43):
I don't know.

Speaker 12 (45:45):
I couldn't tell you.

Speaker 5 (45:46):
Okay, he was a great guy.

Speaker 1 (45:48):
Let me tell you.

Speaker 5 (45:49):
I'm glad to hear, glad to hear. What do you got,
Big Dave?

Speaker 12 (45:52):
Oh, I had a question. You're you're injured, right? You
have an injury.

Speaker 5 (45:56):
No, I'm better now when I'm not playing basketball. I
put a boot on, so yes.

Speaker 12 (46:00):
Yeah, but you showed up and he went to work.

Speaker 5 (46:03):
I showed up and I went to work. Yes, but
I took I took lots of drugs. They're not allowed
to take when they show up and going to work though,
So I'll tell.

Speaker 12 (46:10):
Today how many times as they are have been injured
way too much. And if you get injured a lot,
what does your boss do to you? Does he fire you?

Speaker 5 (46:21):
Well, I'm not gonna get to fire for pickup games,
but career wise, if you miss a lot of time,
they're going to become skeptical whether you are the right
person for the gig, which is exactly where we are
right now, Big Dave.

Speaker 12 (46:34):
Yeah, when you talk about quarterbacks to think of I'm
thinking of putting a R in with Jeff George.

Speaker 5 (46:40):
Really Jeff George. Jeff George had a really good career though,
remember that. I mean after he took off.

Speaker 12 (46:47):
Yeah, but.

Speaker 5 (46:50):
I mean it didn't happen for him here, but when
he got away from here it maybe that'll happen to
Richardson if it works out that.

Speaker 12 (46:57):
Way, don't Yeah, we don't need another mile turner.

Speaker 5 (47:01):
Yeah I know.

Speaker 12 (47:03):
I mean he walks out of here and we get
we get a ham and cheef sandwich.

Speaker 5 (47:08):
At least that would be Oh, you're talking about it
in terms of getting nothing in return, that's what you're saying. Well,
I got news for you. The market for Anthony Richardson,
if it's a fifth rounder, that's probably going to be good.
And I think we're all kind of sick and tired
around here at fifth and sixth round selection conversations. You
know what I mean, Big Dave.

Speaker 11 (47:26):
I do.

Speaker 12 (47:27):
But it's better than nothing.

Speaker 5 (47:28):
Ye shout out to Booneville and Warwick County man. Thank
you for the call.

Speaker 12 (47:32):
Thank you, you're welcome, Thank you.

Speaker 5 (47:34):
You got it on the Andy Moore Automotive Group potline.
He's from CBS, he's got an article and that was
a really good segue to Ryan Wilson who joins us.
Now that's kind of the vibe that we have around
here right now. That's been ongoing right now about Anthony Richardson.
You have an article about a second chance for quarterbacks,

(47:54):
how that's worked out and sometimes how it hasn't in
the past in the NFL.

Speaker 10 (47:58):
Ryan, Yeah, no.

Speaker 11 (48:01):
That's exactly right.

Speaker 2 (48:02):
And I understand fans frustrations with rookie quarterbacks or young
quarterbacks you haven't quite worked out. And you know, I
was talking to scouts about this during the draft few
years ago when Anthony was going to look like be
a top five picker or maybe slipping the bout in
the first round, and you bet a lot on projection
and potential, and you know if you build a quarterback

(48:24):
in the lap, he's going to look. Look, Anthony Richardson,
The issue is, and I'm sure you talked about this
to death, is that he only started thirteen games in college.
And one of the comps coming out to Anthony was
Cam Cam Newton, and Cam started fourteen games at Auburn
the final year. But the difference is Cam lived at
Auburn team virtually put them on his back and won
a national title. So you knew that Cam could do

(48:45):
the things that you were going to ask Cam to
do with the next level. That Florida team was six
and seven and Anthony's last year, and the understanding was
that Shane Sikin, who had done the work with Jalen
Hurtz and Philly, was going to be the perfect fit.
And obvious things have gone mostly sideways since, and part
because of the injuries that you guys were just talking about,
and he has a history of soft tissue injuries going

(49:06):
back to Florida and that sort of followed him and
the sort of you know, the haphazard injuries from not
sliding when he needed to or just a freak accidents
of some on the sidelines, and the benching last year
for two weeks, and of course how this preseason played
out and here we are. So look, it's not the
first time it happens. Quarterbacks hit in the first round
less than fifty percent of the time. I think on

(49:29):
some level you wish Anthony Richardson had had taken this.
I don't want to say more seriously, he's doing at
twenty two what probably a lot of us did at
twenty two. The difference was, you know, I was watching.
We have millions of dollars, and I think that on
some level is concerning to a degree because the opportunity
is there, the talent is there, and it just hasn't

(49:50):
come together. And you could say, look, man, you can
put him on the Ransom McVeigh and the forty nine
ers with a Shanahan Shane Psyching is exactly the guy
that should have been making this thing work. And I'm
not blaming Saint Stich and I think there's plenty of
blame to go around, but it's just as we sit
here in year three the thing where you want to be, I'm.

Speaker 5 (50:07):
A blamer, and I'm a blamer because these guys, Ryan,
and you know this more than anybody does that these
guys understand the consequences when you make this selection and
you pound the table saying, hey, I can mold this guy. Now,
this is who we want. And again, given the background

(50:27):
of the player he just described, and people ask me
all the time, so you know, who were the alternatives here?
Will Levis, I mean, he's not going to be anything,
or you know, what's his name, Hendon Hooker of Tennessee
what are the other options? And I say, anybody that
is more than serviceable is an option because most of

(50:50):
the time in the NFL like this, you get one
chance and one chance only to make this pick or
coach this pick, and if it doesn't work out, then
so so you move along. And that's always been my answer.
Is that a fair answer to give? Or better said,
is it a fair answer to give or just a
truth answer to give?

Speaker 2 (51:12):
For the most part, no, I think it's both. Look,
you know, we ain't working at a bank, but there
are a lot of expectations that come with being a
top five pick. And wherever you point the finger, history
has not reflected kindly on top five, top fifteen picks.
When I went back and looked quarterbacks who got bench
before year three, the short list is Matt Lioner, Blayin Gaberney,

(51:34):
j Manuel Tree, Lance Zach Wilson. Some of those were
injury related, but the end of the day, none of
those guys got their starting jobs back. The only saving
grace in recent history is Bryce Young and coming out
of college Number one. Bryce at twenty seven starts so
he played a lot of football. Number two physically, he
could be more different than Anthony Richardson. He's five to
eleven on a good day, and number three. There were
never any concerns about him not being super locked in

(51:56):
on football scorts like that's all he was about. It's
just the issue that he was smaller, didn't have the
arm strength, and so on and so forth. And he
sat on the bench last year for five weeks I
think it was before Andy Down got hurt. And when
he came back, it looked a lot like the Alabama
and Alabama bryshow. We didn't see enough of Anthony and
Florida to get an idea of what that would look
like long term. So you're absolutely right, and you're rolling

(52:18):
the dice that the coaches will tell you this all
the time and they know they're guilty of it. I
can fix that kid. I can get the most out
of that kid. I know he's only played thirteen starts
and only had thirteen starts, and I know he's had
soft tissue injuries. We'll get in where he needs to be.
And that's the whole reason you're an NFL coach, whether
you're a head coach or an assistant. Like I said,
it worked out less than half the time, So you

(52:40):
have to live with those losses when they show up.
And then the question becomes and I give Anthony credit
for saying all the right things when he got benched,
you would like to see him, and we saw last
year Sam Ellenger playing a big part in kidding him
to the point where you need to be to be
an NFL pro. As you're sitting on the bench, those
sorts of things you talk to people around the league

(53:01):
haven't quite clicked in, Like, he's not working as hard
as Bryce Young is working. He's not working as hard
as Peyton or Andrew look back in the day to
keep it in Indianapolis. And I think that sort of
focus is required to do this sort of job because
there are players in the league. There are quarterback that
aren't close to being the athlete that Anthony is.

Speaker 5 (53:20):
That's the thing, and I agree with you Ryan, you
have to vet the most is whether or not this
person is hungry enough to work at it. And one
of the conclusions we've drawn around here is when you
are just gifted with that level of athleticism and things
oftentimes have come so simple. Now I'm not suggesting he

(53:42):
never works at it, because clearly he did, but when
things of that level can slide your way simply because
you're just more athletically dominant than everybody else, that can
set a negative precedent and often we wonder around here
if that's not a part of the equation we're witnessing too.

Speaker 2 (54:03):
Yeah, on the flip side of that, and I think
you're right. And the other thing, And this has been
repeated to me going back to when Anthony was coming out,
like he is a good kid. He's from a small
town of Florida. I never left Florida until he got
to college, So he's not a world traveler, so to speak.
But in terms of the conversation you're talking about, in
terms of the athleticism being better than everyone his entire life,
just common sense tells you that you're going to work

(54:25):
as hard as you have to work to still drop
fifty on your opponent whether you're playing basketball or three
five hundred yards of the game if you're in high school.
But Joe Burrow is a perfect example of someone. I
remember talking to him of the combine and I said,
when did you sort of figure out that you could
do the things you could do? And he said, at
Ohio State, I could do those things physically, my body
wouldn't allow me to do what my mind wanted to do.
Just once he got the LSU and grew a little

(54:46):
big elebit stronger, And that's an example of someone who
knew they had to overcome their physical shortcomings work. That's
not any conversation ar has ever had to have. And
I remember talking to Scott a few weeks ago and
wrote the story, and he said, as soon does Anthony
look left on that bliss that we've talked about to death.
When he discipated his pinky against the Raven the week
one preseason, he said, I guarantee you that Shane'sykin knew

(55:08):
that Dale Jose to be his quarterback, because that's the
sort of mistake that you don't make in JV football.
And it's not that he doesn't know what to do there.
He just spaced out in the moment, and those are
things that you can't do at this level. I think
he got off easy in some regard that he is
just dislipated pinky. You could have lost a division game
that could have cost you a chance to the playoffs
because you may spaced out for fifteen seconds and that.

Speaker 10 (55:30):
Was the result.

Speaker 2 (55:32):
So those are the things that you shouldn't even make
mistakes as a rookie, and you're doing it going into
year three and we're supposed to say, Okay, you're still
facing the franchise. So it could be a learning experience,
a growing experience, or it could be a situation where
you know his life is destined to be a backup.
It's up to antey at this point. Whether it happens
an end to your somewhere else is another conversation. But
this doesn't mean it's the end of the road for him,

(55:52):
because you know we've talked about this. He's only twenty two,
twenty three years old.

Speaker 5 (55:55):
So Ryan Wilson joins us that Ryan Wilson CBS. You
can find him on the social media play form x.
He has an article out right now we're talking about
talking in the NFL on the Andy Moore Automotive Group potline.
So logically speaking, does he ever find any traction here
to reclaim anywhere near what they thought, or is the

(56:16):
more likelihood that what you find, as we've seen in
comps and I'm sure you've gone through as well, if
he finds any footing, it's going to be someplace else.

Speaker 2 (56:26):
Right, So Bryce sunk would be the best case scenario
for him in the INNDY, But history, to your point,
suggests it's going to have to happen somewhere else. I mean,
Baker Mayfield and sandarn both were in Carolina at various
points and we're terrible, And now Baker Mayfield is one
of the best quarterbacks in the league, top fifteen at least.
And Sam Donald just got that huge payday after winning
what fifteen games last year in Minnesota. But also the

(56:48):
other thing is this, fifty nine quarterbacks started games last year,
and that tells me that you know your quarterback more time.
Tonight gets injured, your starter, so you need someone to
come in and be ready, and that could be an
opportunity for Anthony. The other thing, Daniel Jones is sort
of the is he the next Sam Donald? That this
is the best offense he's played on ever? And they
won nine games in twenty twenty two, his first year

(57:10):
of Brian Davile with the Giants, they won a playoff game.
There's very I don't want to say a realistic chance.
It feels like there's a fifty one percent chance that
Daniel Jones might have some sort of Sam Darnald like
renaissance this year as well. But should he go down
because of injury, and you don't want it to happen
that could be a perfect opportunity for Anthony Rish to
prove to himself and to others like us that he

(57:32):
is certainly capable of this, and the physical stuff has
ever been in question. It's just a matter of above
the neck. Can you be in the right mind frame
every single play playing in playout and not just rely
on your athleticism. That, as we've talked about, has been
his crutch, and now it is no longer his crutch
because there are what twenty one other dudes on the
field that can do exactly what you can do, or

(57:53):
at least close to it.

Speaker 5 (57:55):
Frian Wilson of CBS on the Anymore Not Automotive Group potline,
you mentioned Daniel Jones he's going to be the Week
one starter here. Do you think that he's got a
lot more to show than certainly we had witnessed twenty
games under five hundred and six seasons while in New York.
What do you feel about his situation moving forward starting

(58:16):
against the Dolphins in a couple of weeks in Week
one here, I feel.

Speaker 2 (58:21):
As good as you can canceled zones given the numbers
you just read off, I think the takeaway for me
is that when Brian Dable arrived, and you know Brian
Daviles claimed to thame was that he and Josh Allen
wh we're doing listenings in Buffalo. That team did more
with less. Yes sink one. Bark is a big part
of that offense. They have Jonathan Taylor in Indy. They

(58:42):
have a wide receiver cru that is way better than
anything they've ever had. In Dale Jones's time in New York,
they drafted one of the best players. He plays tight end.
He's going to be an impact player. And the offensive
line I think is underrated. So it is all to
play indoors half the time. It is all there for
Dan Jones to have success. And I've talked to people
in New York about Dan Jones. They said every one

(59:04):
he's a great person. Number two, no one will outwork him.
And as long as the plan is the plan, and
there isn't a lot of viation, he will execute that plan.
That's her. Numbers have always been an issue during his career,
and he talked about that. But I think if he
doesn't succeed here, then he's destined to probably be a backup.
But if you told me that he got seventy five

(59:25):
percent of the way to what Sam Donald did a
year goo Minnesota. I would believe that too. This team could.
No one's talking about them in this division because of
Jacksonville and Houston. But if you said they were in
the mix the final two weeks of the season to
win the AFC South, I would have no issue believing
you were telling me the truth.

Speaker 5 (59:43):
Ny, Ryan, I don't know how in depth you want
to go or can go regarding Riley Leonard. And we
all understand the circumstances of preseason game three, and you know,
threes and fours versus threes and fours, but he had
a really good afternoon on Saturday. And you know, given
what you did witnessed to do and then what you
saw in that season at Notre Dame, is this a

(01:00:04):
guy that has staying power or maybe better even described
has growing power in the NFL to be something that
maybe a lot of people did not think he was
going to be going back to February here in Indy.

Speaker 2 (01:00:19):
Yeah, no, I think so. It's funny because when he
was drafted by the COLTSFY joke was that he's equal
parked to Anthony Richardson and equal parts Daniel Jones because
He's a fantastic athlete who can make some plays and
then he can do some bonehead of stuff that leave
you scratching your head. I thought at times he's a
better passor duke than we saw last year Notre Dame.
He's a great kid. We talked him to the combine
and he's all about ball as well. He's not having

(01:00:40):
issues with him off the field. But I think it's
funny because you know, the conversation now everywhere is Shador
and Dylan Gabriel, who are both developmental quarterbacks. I think
Riley Leonard is the personification of a developmental quarterback. And
as long as you understand that and you're not expecting
him to come in tomorrow and throw for three hundred
yards and not make mistakes, then he is on the

(01:01:01):
right path. And I think he has an opportunity to
grow because athletically he does things that very few quarterbacks
can do. It's just a matter of getting him comfortable
in terms of the passing part of what you ask
him to do. And we spend covering the draft, you
spend months trying to convince yourself that this quarterback or
that quarterback in college who's a great athlete can figure
out how to be a good passer. Ryan Leonards further

(01:01:23):
along than some of the guys we've had conversations about
in recent years. He just has to continue to be
more consistent to play on time to throw with anticipation
in the accuracy. And again, I think Shane Steiken is
as good as well suited as anyone to get that
out of Jalen Hurts was the second round pick, and
there was no one paying attention to Jalen Hurts in
the draft that included Tua. I think that was the

(01:01:44):
Justin Herbert draft. That was the Jordan Love draft, and
he is one of the best players in the NFL
because he was locked in, he minimized the mistakes and
he got better. So I absolutely think that Ryler Enter
can be someone that you can rely on as a
reliable starter. Is he going to be Jalen Hurts? I
wouldn't say that as we sit here, but I also
wouldn't count him out because he could look find someone
tougher than that kid. When it comes to playing football

(01:02:06):
and playing quarterback.

Speaker 5 (01:02:07):
He is Ryan Wilson's got an article regarding quarterbacks with
second chances, and most of the time it happens on
a different landscape. You can find that before I let
you go, I promise people out there i'd ask you
this because there's a common theme around here is if
this team doesn't play well, and I don't think they're
going to be nearly as bad to be at that

(01:02:28):
particular high draft selection level. But that's part of the
conversation dialogue that goes on around here, and everybody always
brings up a Manning and Arch Manning, and clearly there's
no evidence that he plans on coming out of Austin
after this season or whatever. So let's go ahead and
sidestep in for a moment the most logical draftable quarterbacks.

(01:02:50):
If the Colts find themselves in that situation coming up
in the spring of twenty twenty six, what do you
have in mind before the start of the college football
season right now?

Speaker 2 (01:03:00):
Yeah, no, this is gonna be fun. This quarterback classing
me a lot deeper than last year's Arts. Manning and
of course is the white whale. Hopefully we don't have
to talk about him if he's not going out, but
I'm sure it'll be a conversation. But Garrett Nathsmyra Ls
who thought about coming out last year and he has
a chance to be really good. His dad is the
OC done in the Saints right now. He just has
to play more consistently. A name that you guys can

(01:03:21):
watch in Indiana is Fernando Mendoza, who was really good
at Calvil behind a terrible offensive line. I think a
lot of people are going to realize who he is
pretty quickly. I think he's going to be a good
player that has a chance to be a first round pick.
Drew Aller came back to school and Kay Kleptic did
as well at Penn Sadie Clemson and those guys different
body types. Both have potentially big time players and first

(01:03:42):
round picks as well. And then you know, if we
want to contamdy Fay richardson conversation with North Sellers South Carolina,
he might be the best running back in the in
the in Costle well not named Jeremiah Love, but he
is a quarterback. If he gets better as a passer,
and we'll be talking a lot about him. But that's
where he needs to grow, and we talked about that
with the Ryley Leonard. If he can progress, and I
part of me helps he comes back. If he doesn't

(01:04:03):
get to that point he could have a chance to
be truly special. And that's just a handful of guys
they're gonna be, So that could be five or six
other guys were talking about. And I didn't even mention
Carson Back, who everyone was talking a lot about last
year this time before he transferred out of Georgia to Miami.

Speaker 5 (01:04:15):
Hey, Ryan, before I let you go, give me a
comparison or us a comparison on the quarterback class that
we witnessed this year, this past year, or going back
to even Richardson's twenty twenty two quarterback class that had
you know, is stroud and young, and I mentioned Hooker
and Levis and all that that particular class compared to

(01:04:38):
what we think this quarterback class in twenty twenty six
is going to look like.

Speaker 10 (01:04:43):
Yeah, Brighton CJ.

Speaker 2 (01:04:44):
Both played a lot of football. It's twenty seven, twenty
five starts. I believe we knew Anthony did. And Levis
played a lot, but there are questions about his consistency
of both Penn State and then at Kentucky and then
Hindon that played a lot. But he towards ACL and
he's sound like he's about to get cut in Detroit.
This class arch is arched, but Garrett played a lot
of football. Fernando Mendoza has, Drew Aller came back this

(01:05:05):
year in Kate Clebnick as well. They've all come back,
and I think out bryceon CJ would be in there.
I think they would be again disregarding arts, would be
QB one in this class. But there's a lot of
players who have played a ton of ball and that's
what teams sort of lean on. You're not having to
project quite as much. Lenora Sellers has not played a lot,

(01:05:26):
so that's concerned. Nico Ye Malabaki transferred the ucla incredible specimen,
but he hasn't played a lot of ball either, So
I think in that sense it's much better. Last year's class,
it was Cam Wore played a ton of football, Dylan Gabriel.

Speaker 10 (01:05:38):
Played a lot.

Speaker 2 (01:05:38):
You were played a lot. But this class is so
much deeper than that class. Now, if you want to
talk about the Caleb Jane Daniels Drake May class, that
was special and that has worked out pretty well thus far,
so this group would probably be behind that one, probably
the CJ and Bryce class.

Speaker 5 (01:05:52):
Ryan Wilson of CBS got an article good breakdown right
there too. You can find him on x Ryan Wilson
CBS enough to join us on the Andy Moore Automotive
Group podline. I'll tell you what when we start this season,
especially with both the NFL and because I'm supposed to
have Beendoza on some time, so I'm just writing down
notes you've just given me about him too. I know

(01:06:12):
we all know kind of about the cow offensive line struggling,
and you saw what Kurt Signetti did to really fortify
the voice of the Hoosiers Don Fisher. I talk to
him every week and I hang out with him a
little bit on Fridays, and he told me that this
may be the best offensive line that we have seen
at IU in forever, and there's a reason behind that

(01:06:35):
with this particular quarterback too, so it should be fun
as hell to watch. We'll check back with you and
get some more of your insight. I really enjoyed the conversation, Ryan.

Speaker 10 (01:06:42):
Thank you, absolutely, thank you.

Speaker 5 (01:06:45):
Ryan Wilson on the Andy Moore Automotive Group piodline. Yeah,
that makes sense. We've made that connection before with cal
and running for your life and being here at Indiana
behind an offensive line that the Don Fisher sure has
told us a number of times and then me personally
as well, that it is as fortified as he it
has been in his estimation in a long time. In Bloomington,

(01:07:10):
they're officially underway this week, and I'm gonna get somebody
from IU, I think coming up either tomorrow Wednesday, one
of the two. So I don't know exactly who it
might be, but we shall see. We'll start talking that up.
We'll get somebody from the Boilers, as they embrk to
on the bary odem Era up in West Lafayette, that
going for you as well as college football is officially

(01:07:32):
back in week number one. Coming up later on this week,
Ryan Wilson on the Andy Moore Automotive Group Hotline, Stephen
Holder still to come and your calls at two three
nine ten seventy. Your text message is at three one
seven two three nine ten seventy The Triple A Membership
Lounge via YouTube live and ninety three five and one
oh seven five to Fan.

Speaker 4 (01:07:54):
The Ride with JMV.

Speaker 2 (01:07:56):
Well, you're gonna have to say that you gotta to
speak out because I can't.

Speaker 4 (01:07:59):
Hear ninety three five and one oh seven five The Fan.

Speaker 5 (01:08:06):
Ry Wilson of CBS Podcasts That one at one oh
seven five thefan dot com Colt Scutt's coming up tomorrow,
Chris Ballad with the Media coming up on Wednesday. This
show is as you just heard, right, Brent Halverson and
I a tavern tour stop our good friend Brian. By

(01:08:28):
the way, I didn't know if you guys were aware
of this. I know you know SIDS in Noblesville on
the Square, but Brian has a couple of Airbnbs. I
guess that's plural Airbnbs above SIDS. They are outstanding. He
sent me pictures a couple of weeks ago when I
was up there on a Sunday afternoon. Incredible. But that

(01:08:51):
is the tavern tour stop for the month of August.
And what that does, James? Make sure that I'm not
out any other time this week. I don't think I'm
out on Wednesday?

Speaker 10 (01:08:59):
Right?

Speaker 5 (01:09:00):
Do I start officially being on the road on Thursday.
I want to make sure that is true.

Speaker 9 (01:09:05):
I believe, so I will tell you, yep, you are
on the road Thursday and Friday.

Speaker 5 (01:09:09):
Thursday we started SIDS and Noblesville. That is a tavern
tour stop. And I want everybody up there around there
in the general vicinity to join going to be outstanding,
so sids in Noblesville on Thursday, we're going to be
for the first of two straight days. I do have

(01:09:32):
a cabin, hopefully you do as well. We are going
to have the start of our Labor Day Weekend Bender
on Friday. That's at Mystic Waters Campground I sixty nine
Pendleton Exit, easy to find, easy to get to, especially
if you're around Pendleton or Ingles Fishers, Noblesville, Carmel, that area.

(01:10:00):
But we have the afternoon show and Brenn and I
will do that Mystic Waters Campground on Friday, and then
on Saturday, the JMV Takeover on B one oh five
point seven is live for the third annual JMV Labor
Day Weekend Bender with the JMV Takeover on B one
oh five point seven. And we are spending the week

(01:10:22):
and I know, I know, before I've said, yeah, I'm
gonna spend the weekend, and then my dumb ass gets
up at about three in the morning, he goes home
when every lady's asleep or passed out. But nah, we're
going to be there and we are going to be
there for the entirety of the time, and there is
nothing more that I would love than to see you there.

(01:10:47):
So Lizzy reminds me of this too. Who big weekend
on the inbound for Lizzy too. By the way, and
we all know Lidsey the ben actually starts on Thursday
at SIDDS. You're right, it does start on Thursday at SIDS.

(01:11:09):
So that is the weekend in a nutshell. And I
cannot wait to get a load of all of you,
and hopefully you join us at Mystic Waters because there's
going to be so much fun. I think Taylor's Pubs
bringing out some food on Friday, Richard and Ford's Garage
on Saturday, hellaciously awesome time. And listen, you deserve it.

(01:11:33):
I deserve it. We all deserve a hellatiously good time.
Oh yeah. And then by the way, on Sunday, Paradise Day, Watson,
there's another good time. You guys want me to draw
you a map. Now, it's gonna be a great weekend.
I'm very excited. The temperatures need to be around ninety
seventy seven. I know a lot of you people love

(01:11:56):
the seventy. I want it ninety. But it is all good.
The cell bration will happen Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
Cannot wait to see you, if not every single day,
most of the days, maybe a couple of days, or
at least once during our Labor Day weekend bender because

(01:12:18):
it is going to be outstanding. Two three nine ten
seventy is that number? Also? That is the text line
number of three one seven two three nine ten seventy.
We'll get to that and what Ryan Wilson had to
say about a variety of things in the second, but
Derek's up next at two three nine ten seventy.

Speaker 3 (01:12:34):
Hello Derek, Hey, JMB, since you won't come on my show,
I guess I'll have to come on your Why don't.

Speaker 5 (01:12:40):
I come on your show? What's my problem that?

Speaker 10 (01:12:43):
You know what your JMB?

Speaker 8 (01:12:45):
You do?

Speaker 5 (01:12:45):
What I am not listen. I will come on anybody show,
have no problem with it.

Speaker 3 (01:12:51):
AnyWho brought up to Alex Klow and I think this,
this could be a great opportunity for him.

Speaker 8 (01:12:57):
I mean, yeah, you see.

Speaker 3 (01:12:59):
How dominant, up close and personal that Plow has been
the last three years.

Speaker 2 (01:13:04):
What what is their left.

Speaker 3 (01:13:06):
Outside of maybe winning you know, tying aj Foyk for
most wins in a season. What else is there left
on the NTT Indy.

Speaker 12 (01:13:13):
Car circuits for Plow to do?

Speaker 3 (01:13:15):
And maybe time for a new challenge, and maybe this
will bring in more audience because he won't be as
dominant weekend and week out as he has been for now.

Speaker 12 (01:13:24):
Going on three years.

Speaker 5 (01:13:25):
Well, here's what you don't want, I would gather. I
don't know if this is exton Stone anywhere, but I
would suggest it would suck to lose him, and it
would also suck to lose him and him to go
to a cursed red Bull second car and that not
to work out, and then he have to to double back,

(01:13:45):
which you know coming back would be great. But I
don't know about you, Derek. I would rather see him
if he's going to go off to F one, I'd
like to see him make his mark, make an imprint
in F one. I think that would be awesome to
show how talented he is, you know, to break the
curse of that seat and to show I think that
puts a spotlight on IndyCar itself that maybe he's not

(01:14:08):
on it right now too. I think that he's going
to be carrying a lot of weight if he ends
up going If that is true, he'll carry a lot
of weight for IndyCar just to let people know, well,
this is the level of racing that you get and
there's going to be a lot to overcome, many hurdles
for him to overcome. I think once he gets to
that level, yeah, I.

Speaker 3 (01:14:29):
Think, you know, you make great points and you know,
thinking about maybe you know, embarking or embarking on his
own trail. It would be tough for him in F
one if he was to do that, and you know
how overshadowed would he be if and when this was
to happen that you know Max for staff and was
his teammates, that's a huge shadow to cast it is.

Speaker 5 (01:14:51):
Hey, Derek, I'm going to put you on hold here
when you want me to come on your your podcast show.

Speaker 3 (01:14:58):
Well, we go every Tuesday night, So you a Tuesday
and we'll figure it out.

Speaker 5 (01:15:01):
What time do you do it?

Speaker 10 (01:15:03):
Eight pm?

Speaker 5 (01:15:04):
Eight pm? So will I be done by eight thirty?

Speaker 2 (01:15:10):
We can make that happen.

Speaker 5 (01:15:10):
Absolutely, because I've got hoop at nine. I got to
go hoop at nine on a Tuesday night. Can we
do it an hour or does it have to be
at eight? Absolutely? E'ston Stone eight.

Speaker 2 (01:15:21):
We could do it we can.

Speaker 12 (01:15:22):
We can make it work.

Speaker 5 (01:15:22):
I'll tell you what. I'm gonna put you on Hole
or James will and James can give you my number
and you call me tomorrow and I'll come on your
show at eight as long as I'm done by about
eight thirty or something like that, so I can go hoop.

Speaker 3 (01:15:36):
Okay, we can make it happen.

Speaker 5 (01:15:38):
Thing now, I don't know anything. I mean, I'm not
even less than I know right here? Is that okay?
I mean the quality of the program right here is
basically it's about as high as it gets. So yeah,
I don't know what. Yeah, you're not gonna get much,
is that okay?

Speaker 3 (01:15:52):
Hey? You know, hey, we don't set the ball bar
very high.

Speaker 5 (01:15:55):
That's good. You got the right guy, then, Derek, all right,
I'll talk to you later. Got a buddy, Thank you.
James get his or give give him my info and
we'll do that. Sometimes I kind of jack around with
cell phones and emails and stuff and texts and my
apologies operator error. I saw the Pacers so late last

(01:16:18):
week and it was almost like, I mean, it was
just an assistant coach. It was almost like it was
like a news dumb late last week Mike Weiner, who
reportedly turned down a gig with the Nicks and Mike Brown.
It was described by the Pacers as mutually parting ways,
which normally means we decided to get rid of somebody.

(01:16:41):
And I'm not suggesting that that's how it was. I'm
just saying that that particular wording normally suggests that, yeah,
you know what we're done with this person. That was weird, right.
So a couple of days later, the Pacers have hired
another assistant coach. This is Jhanni Carpenter. He's going to
take a seat behind the front of the bench. Jim

(01:17:05):
Boylan's going to work his way back up to the
front of the bench. That's how that's going to work.
James all have to remind me of that, because there's
zero way with my little tiny brain on remember that
tomorrow date I got you. Yeah, let me be sitting
there going, oh yeah. But I think part of the

(01:17:29):
background of Johnny Carpenter, he was in Memphis a part
of their support staff. Coaching wise, Jay Huff obviously is
one of those taking over in the absence now of
Myles Turner. He coached him up while at Virginia. Rick Carlisle, Virginia.
I mean, you can connect the dots on this. Rick
Carlile in Dallas. I don't know. Somebody had asked me

(01:17:54):
if this is David Wood out in the hallway. We
were both in the Urino's at the break and he said, yeah,
what happen in there? It was weird. It was like
late Friday and mutually parting ways from a guy and
the staff. We talked about their consistency and the value
of the staff and then poof, he's gone. How that

(01:18:15):
it goes? So Derek be on the way coming up tomorrow,
No problem with that, right, Two three, nine, ten seventy.
That is the number. Also the number of the text lone.
If you guys want to go ahead and load up
and send some of these texts into me, we can

(01:18:37):
check it out.

Speaker 4 (01:18:38):
I do.

Speaker 5 (01:18:39):
I want to reach out, hopefully I can get something
from Danny Bridges. I'm going to get Danny Bridges on
here before I end of the show. Four years on
this date, Robert Miller passed away. I want to talk
about that, hopefully with Danny before the end of the show.
JAMV have you heard the Black Keys cover album of

(01:19:00):
Junior kim Brose blues legend. I have not. I've known
for years the Black Keys, I've just never seen them.
And if you remember, I ask you guys last week,
what do you think should I go? And it was
your recommendation that I do, and I did and it
was fun. It was a good time and they are

(01:19:23):
a fun band to watch. It started out with Carne
and Arbot right there on stage in front of a
velvet curtain, and then after I think the first song
or two, the curtain came open and the rest of
the band was behind him. Pretty cool. JMV. I picked
up my hashtag ass Pat prize yesterday, even got to

(01:19:43):
sit down and have a nice chat with the man himself.
Nice little yetti goodie bag. Well done. We have one
more hashtag ass pat it's coming up on Water's Campground.
Then that will be it for the year. JAMV. As

(01:20:08):
of now, where would you rate Anthony Richardson in terms
of bus and NFL history? He's among the many around here.
Certainly it's tremendous. I don't know, with other quarterbacks in mind,

(01:20:31):
if it's going to be as as high as what
we would suggest it to be around here, but it's
right up there. No question, and I mentioned this to
Ryan Wilson when he was on. I just think that
they're resigned to the fact that we got to win
and win right now, and I think everybody around here
is on board with that. And our way to win

(01:20:55):
is not through Richardson our quarterback, and our best chance
of winning is with Daniel Jones. JMV quote, John Boy,
it's ellis from Nacatmy love the JMV Takeover. Andrew White,
longtime fanboy. The JMV Takeover was outstanding this weekend too.

(01:21:20):
And I always kind of get mixed up a little bit, James.
I get mixed up sometimes. I forget when somebody requests
a song and it sounds like a first time or so.
Somebody called up with the nineteen eighty four one hit
Wonder classic that a lot of you have forgotten called
eighties by killing joke that maybe ten percent of you

(01:21:40):
even know what it is when I'm talking to you
right now. And then I said, hey, first time request,
And then I was reminded by the same person that
called up three months ago and requested that same song
that it wasn't the first time. So wait a minute,
it's not a first time because I called three months
to go and he played it.

Speaker 9 (01:22:01):
So it's a song called eighties eighties by Killing Joke?
And when was it released?

Speaker 5 (01:22:05):
Nineteen eighty four?

Speaker 9 (01:22:07):
No, according to Spotify, And maybe this isn't the right
right information, but according to Spotify, it says nineteen ninety two,
ninety two.

Speaker 5 (01:22:15):
Yeah, that might be right, Killing Joke nineteen ninety two.
Maybe it was eighty four when they came together, Looking James,
doctor Correcto over there too, just like the guy that
requested the song the other night, Look doctor Correcto on
the host of the show. Sometimes the host needs it,
It might be right.

Speaker 9 (01:22:35):
Well, the apparently they started in nineteen seventy six.

Speaker 12 (01:22:38):
Oh WHOA?

Speaker 9 (01:22:39):
All right with all these unactualis right?

Speaker 5 (01:22:41):
Now? It took him that long to come up with
something apparently? All right makes sense? Killing Joke? Did j
MV just admit to burning grass for his recovery?

Speaker 10 (01:22:55):
Now?

Speaker 5 (01:22:55):
I did not admit to that. However, I will tell
you this by whatever means necessary. However, I've told you
the story before. What happens with that? I am not
against it in any form or fashion. The problem I
have with it is it would put me to sleep immediately.
Dough and I just I'm somebody that I gotta stay up.

(01:23:19):
I don't want to be put to sleep. JMV. What
you said about Riley Leonard is somewhat true. Can I elaborate?
I think you should. We'll do that coming up on
the other side. Preseason Game three, the story was Riley Leonard.
How much of it was just a short term or
could there be a profound lasting effect there. We'll talk

(01:23:41):
about that and that comment coming up on the other side.
As Stephen Holder top of the hour, Colts cut down tomorrow,
Chris Ballard coming up with this comments on Wednesday, and
we are off and running on the road for a
fantastic Labor Day week. Ind bender with this show. It's
Notty three five one oh seven five.

Speaker 4 (01:24:00):
Fan the ride with JMV.

Speaker 13 (01:24:05):
Out the mody bag.

Speaker 4 (01:24:10):
Ninety three five and one oh seven five the fan,
all right.

Speaker 5 (01:24:15):
Jim McCann is Southern California checks in on the text
line three one seven, two, three nine ten seventy he
has this song being nineteen eighty five. Yeah, I said
eighty four. I was in the neighborhood the ballpark right there.

Speaker 9 (01:24:37):
Maybe what I'm looking at is like a compilation out on.

Speaker 5 (01:24:39):
The Q are. Yeah, thank you Jim McCann for saving
my eighties music knowledge right there. A little scary college
football officially underway this past weekend in what they like
to call Week zero, but both IU and Purdue and

(01:25:00):
Notre Dame on the field this upcoming week. Purdue in
ball state fifty four transfers, and we talked to Tom
Teenhard last week about this. Fifty four transfers for the
Boilermakers in all this. According to Tom Deenhart, Barry odom

(01:25:21):
year one, his roster has eighty two players in their
first season in West Lafayette eighty two in their first season,
so there is a lot. But as Tom Deenhart said

(01:25:46):
last week, most Boilermaker fans are just glad they turned
the page and we shall see where that goes from here.
A you also under way Notre Dame. As I mentioned,
we're gonna have a TV out there coming up on
Saturday night for the JMV takeover too of Mystic Waters Campgrounds.

(01:26:08):
So yeah, we'll have college football on be doing the show.
Be great. Terry writes this, Hey, JMV, some of these
people must not have watched Notre Dame football last year.
Riley Leonard ain't it.

Speaker 1 (01:26:23):
All.

Speaker 5 (01:26:23):
I'm saying here to Terry that Riley Leonard had a
good game in preseason game three threes and fours versus
threes and fours. We're not going to pedestal this anymore
than it needs to be. But at the same time,
I am not going to whiz on everybody's excitement campfire

(01:26:44):
because there's been so little to be able to talk
about positively around here. I think we all know where
this is going, or let me say this, I know
where it's not going, Terry on dialogue about what it
could be, what should be with Riley Leonard. I still

(01:27:05):
think we understand, don't we reality?

Speaker 11 (01:27:10):
Here?

Speaker 5 (01:27:11):
And with that reality, Stephen Holder of ESPN at ESPN
dot com is going to join us. Coming up on
the other side, and four years to the day of
the passing of our friend Robin Miller, and we still
think about him on this day four years later. Quick break,
we'll come back the stream the app AHD Radio Triple

That is the beginning on Friday with this show in
the third annual Labor Day Weekend Bender, and then the
JMV takeover is a part of that on Saturday night

(01:28:44):
Live at Mystic Waters Campground. So plenty of opportunities to
join us, and really to join us for an extended
period of time. You can join us all weekend long.
I love to have you. Joe Mixon, Texan's running back
at least the first four games of the season, he's
going to miss with an ankle injury, and the Indianapolis

(01:29:09):
native here's to be back in the fold with the Commanders.
Terry McLaurin ends the holdout ninety six million dollars deal. Actually,
I shouldn't say hold out was a hold end that
news a little bit earlier today. Cut downs for the
coach tomorrow, Chris Ballard with the media coming up on Wednesday,
we'll talk about that and then the preseason game three,

(01:29:31):
I'm sure with his X handle lighting up with Riley
Leonard conversation over the weekend, Stephen Holder of ESPN joins us. Now,
good afternoon, Steven.

Speaker 10 (01:29:42):
Hey, how's it going.

Speaker 5 (01:29:44):
A lot of Riley Leonard dialogue coming your way over
the weekend? Do I gather.

Speaker 10 (01:29:52):
Some some I think that's, you know, sort of part
of the course this time of the year. You're always
looking looking for the other answer when you don't like
the ones that are available to you. But I would
say this, look I saw, I tweeted this, and I'll
say it again here. I saw every training camp practice,
every single one. And my conclusion that I came to

(01:30:18):
with Riley Leonard is that his arm strength is not
where you want it to be, you know, to really
be a viable NFL quarterback. Right now. Now, I know
he's operated well in the preseason game on Saturday, and
that's that's great. It's a credit to him. I mean,
he knows what to do, where to throw the ball,
et cetera. He's a competitor out of all that. But

(01:30:41):
he's going to have to do what sam Ellinger did
to really ever make himself viable, which is, you know,
to improve his velocity on the football and thereby improve
his accuracy and things like that. So we'll see he's
got the makeup that maybe allows him to do it,
and let's see if he can.

Speaker 5 (01:31:00):
We've had similar conversations about backups to the backups before
or those are against all odds quarterbacks and Chad Kelly
comes to mind, sam Ellinger comes to mind in both cases.
I think the initial cutdowns with both had them a
part of the practice squad, which surprised a lot of

(01:31:21):
people at that moment. Will the Colts do that? Will
they at least start out with only two quarterbacks on
the roster or will they go with three? Will we
find that I know everything's not etidy stone as up tomorrow,
but what do you think and they end up doing
with Leonard in this case.

Speaker 10 (01:31:39):
My prediction is they keep him on the active roster.
I mean they've done it the last I don't know,
three years or so carrying those three quarterbacks.

Speaker 12 (01:31:48):
I think they'll still do that, but I think.

Speaker 10 (01:31:52):
That mostly because they have the they have the roster
of flexibility to do it. They did have a lot
of injuries, but they're getting better and there's a little
more clarity in terms of their injuries, so that allows
you to maybe not have to carry extra bodies at
the positions where you're beat up, you know what I mean.

(01:32:13):
So that kind of gives you the flexibility if you
so choose to carry that third quarterback. And remember the
third quarterback rule that is in place today, you know
that guy has to be on the active roster. If
I understand it correctly, Basically you can have that third
quarterback active. It's the old fashioned third quarterback rule. You

(01:32:33):
can be active on game day but not but he's
a designated third quarterback, so therefore he doesn't count towards
your forty six active players for the game.

Speaker 5 (01:32:43):
Do you think that, for example, if he were on
the practice squad, would would somebody you think target him
and bring him in? Would they he get poachs from
a practice squad situation?

Speaker 10 (01:32:54):
I don't know.

Speaker 14 (01:32:55):
It's a good question, impossible question, but I don't know,
I I think. I think if you like him and
you're and you have space on your roster, if you
liked this preseason film and you were curious if he
was a guy you could develop that no one would
poach him, you know, to play him right now. It

(01:33:17):
would be somebody that's thinking in the long term.

Speaker 10 (01:33:20):
So it would have to be a team where the
coach and or GM have you know, some some real security,
you know, like a I don't know, I'm just making
this up, like you know, maybe Denver or something like that,
you know where you I mean, they took Sam Ellinger, right,
and that makes sense. You know, a guy you can
go in there with a coach who who has you know,

(01:33:41):
some real offensive chops and maybe you know, could get
something out of that guy in the long term. So
somewhere like that, you know, I don't know where that
would be, but my gut is thinct is probably not.
But there might be a one off team that fits
that bill that I just outlined.

Speaker 5 (01:33:58):
By the way, credit what credit is do against threes
and fours or whatever. That Leonard to Treadwell pass was
the best thrown football by a Colts quarterback in how
long Seriously it was, and how long has it been
since we've seen a ball thrown that. Well, I'm not
suggesting that that's his level of quarterbacking, but that was

(01:34:20):
a well thrown ball all the way around.

Speaker 10 (01:34:24):
Well is a well thrown thrown on time, which is
a big key there, right, I mean, it's it's when
you let that when you cut that thing loose, right,
and it's just just good execution all around. And I
think that is that is the best of Riley Leonards.
And now what you what he what he struggles with

(01:34:46):
is you know, when he's got to throw it into traffic, Uh,
maybe those balls, you know sort of out outbreaking routes
to the sideline where you have to throw the ball
maybe over a the fender and layer it, you know,
in between the safety and the underneath corner. Those are
tough throws that even veteran struggle with at times. I mean,

(01:35:06):
those are the kinds of balls that for him are difficult,
particularly because he doesn't have the velocity on the ball
sometimes and you've got to zip that thing in there.
But when he's when he's well protected and the receiver wins,
he can put it in. He can put it in there.
Man put it on the money and he did do that.
There that was a great looking player, I will agree.

Speaker 5 (01:35:26):
Stephen Holder VSPN at ESPN dot coms and the Andy
Moore Automotive Group podline. I don't know cut down to
a is coming up tomorrow, officially coming up tomorrow, but
I'm curious. It's kind of goes along with the protection
of a quarterback or a player on the practice squad?
Is there anybody you think the Colts may be motivated
to keep on the active roster because they would be

(01:35:48):
aware and or a little bit apprehensive about whether or
not they could be poached from the practice squad if
they don't do that. Does anybody stand out at all?
Any name?

Speaker 11 (01:36:01):
Right?

Speaker 1 (01:36:01):
Not?

Speaker 14 (01:36:02):
I wouldn't say particularly, No, not, not particularly. I guess
the question always, or one of the questions you know
that arises in that regard is always like your your rookies,
you know, are there some rookies that maybe fall into
that category? You know, Tim Smith is a guy, he
was what I think the sixth round maybe six Trump pick,

(01:36:26):
you know, defensive tackle, Like, what what's his deal?

Speaker 10 (01:36:28):
Like? Do they do they think they can you know,
do they think they can protect him or keep him.
Do they want him on the practice squad or want
to sneak him through to the practice squad? You know,
because the reason I say that, the reason I say
rookies is because they are fresh in people's minds and
your impressions of them. Really for when it comes to

(01:36:48):
other teams, the impressions of those rookies are largely based
on what they saw in college still, you know, so
they haven't seen training camp for the most part, those
teams are just basing it on what whatever little preseason
film they have. So you may have a curiosity about
a guy that you know, maybe you didn't get to
pick in the late rounds and he's out there. Those

(01:37:09):
are the guys that oftentimes get claimed that. And I
would also say guys who have played a little bit
and maybe there's no room for them on your roster,
but they play a premium position like corner, maybe wide receiver.
I don't I don't know if there's any of those
for the Colts, But yeah, I don't think they're too

(01:37:30):
worried about it. I honestly think this will be one
of the easier roster cut periods that they've had in
quite some time.

Speaker 5 (01:37:38):
To Steven holder VESPN on ESPN dot com. He's on
the Andy Moore Automotive Group potline debt chart at tied end.
According to you, what's that look like?

Speaker 10 (01:37:49):
So I predicted, let's see, I think four is what
I went with. I went with my prediction and if
Tyler Warren, Molly Cox, Will Mallory and I believe I
hadrew Ogletree online. I shouldn't know this off the top
of my head, right I wrote it, But anyhow, that's

(01:38:12):
kind of how I see it. I see four. So
my thought process there is this if you have, if
you have, you know, sort of Jeelanny Woods, for example,
he comes into the conversation I think with him, I
think Will Mallory gets the nod for me, just for consistency. Now,

(01:38:33):
I will say I will say this that Jelanny Woods
made a push late in camp. He actually started to flash,
and I thought in the preseason games we saw a
little bit more from him and that was good. But
I think when you factor in his injury history and
then the fact that Will Mallory, to be honest in

(01:38:54):
game action right now is more proven than Jeelnny Woods,
and I think Will Mallory has some upside that maybe
they can tap into. You're gonna need another real receiving
tight end. I think if you go with Allie Cox
and Ogle Tree, you'll need that second receiving tight end
to pair with Tyler Warren. I prefer Will Mallory over
Jolonnie Woods personally.

Speaker 5 (01:39:14):
Yeah, I the injury history I think alone you would
be skeptical about you know, Woods in general. That's too
bad too, because it always seems like he has a
lot of what is necessary to have success to that position,
but he's just never been available.

Speaker 10 (01:39:33):
Yeah, I'll be interested to see if someone picks him up.
If he does get cut, will somebody pick him up? Look,
remember now, he was I believe, a third round pick.
So that's a premium pick. It was three years ago. Okay,
it's all loll talvago. I mean it predates predicing Stichen. Okay,

(01:39:53):
he's never done anything for sing Stikan. Wait, no, I'm
not right about that. Yeah, that's why I think he was.
He was actually a class of twenty two, right, So
you know you're talking about a long time ago.

Speaker 11 (01:40:06):
But.

Speaker 10 (01:40:09):
You know he at one point was a highly thought
of player, highly touted player out of college, and you know,
with a lot of upside. The question will be have
people forgotten about that? Do they still care? I don't know.
I'm very curious to see what happens with him if
he indeed does get cut, you know, like for in
one possible outcome, like if he doesn't get picked up,

(01:40:29):
do the Colts keep him and try to keep him
on the practice squad? You know? Do they want to
take a longer look? You know, those are the questions
that I have there.

Speaker 5 (01:40:37):
Running back wise, how's that depth chart look to you?
At least going into nothing at in Stone, but at
least going into this week?

Speaker 10 (01:40:46):
Well, I think one, two, and three are Jonathan Taylor,
DJ Giddens and Tyler Goodson. For me, the question is
do you do you have room four? A fourth? And
well that's the first question, and then in conjunction with that,
do you need a fourth? Frankly, because Goodson has I
believe in elbow injury, there's a chance that could go

(01:41:09):
into the regular season, and so if that, if that
is the case, then you you do have to keep
that fourth. I presume that might be Khalil Herbert, although
Bentley ulysses Bentley the fourth, which is a hell of
a name. I mean, you better make something of your
life when your parents name you. Ulysses Bentley the fourth.

(01:41:32):
But anyhow, he he had a good I thought, you know,
running the preseason there down the stretch and definitely made
a made a name for himself there, or at least,
you know, made a case for himself, I should say.
So we'll see if he's a you know, a practice
squad candidate or something. But those are That's kind of
how I see that group shaping up if they're all healthy.

(01:41:54):
And they're not right now. But if they're all healthy,
Taylor Giddings Goodson and maybe maybe a fourth probably.

Speaker 5 (01:42:02):
Herbert ESPN dot Com ESPN Stephen Holder covers the Colts
and Andy Moore automotive group Potline. Where are you with
the linebackers going into the start of the season as
it stands right now?

Speaker 10 (01:42:16):
I kind of don't love them, frankly. I just think
they're just they're they're not really paying a lot of
attention to that unit, clearly, and it doesn't seem to
bother them, because if it had, I thought they'd have
made some moves by now. They don't seem overly concerned.
But I wonder if maybe they're just sort of taking

(01:42:37):
that for granted, I don't know what to make of it.
The only thing I can say is that maybe lou
Anarumo does not intend to play, you know, the linebackers extensively.
I mean, certainly, Dire Franklin will be on the field,
probably all of the time, I would imagine, But you know,
will they play that six defensive back more than we

(01:42:59):
anticipate they might? You know, I don't know. I'm curious
to see how that goes. I mean, it was it
was gonna be. It was gonna be more of a
more of a likely option, you know, when you when
you had or before excuse me, you had, you know,
the injury to Hunter Wohler, but he I thought he

(01:43:19):
was going to be the sixth defensive back. Now I
don't know who that is and if it's as good
an option, but I do think they'll still do it
in some capacity. But anyhow, linebackers, I mean, I guess
you keep five, but the last two Franklin are going
to be special teams guys. I guess in Sire Franklin,
camer grown Uh, Joe Bachi, Jalen Carlis who still hurt,

(01:43:40):
you know, And I don't know where that stands. And
then your fifth is kind of like your preference. I
guess Austin and Jackie if I'm pronouncing that right. So
that's a very undistinguished group. To be completely honest.

Speaker 5 (01:43:55):
They're gonna go with Zavian Howard.

Speaker 10 (01:43:59):
Yeah. I really thought.

Speaker 5 (01:44:03):
One against his former team.

Speaker 10 (01:44:06):
He could, he could. I'm gonna tell you something, man,
When they signed him, I honestly thought, okay, man, they
must really be banged up that corner.

Speaker 5 (01:44:16):
Well, it was like he was the starter in the
depth chart when he got signed. Was he not like it?
Day later it's on I'm looking at it.

Speaker 10 (01:44:24):
Yes he is. But but let me go back to
when he signed a week ago. At that point, I'm thinking, oh, man,
they are really beat up. They had to go sign
this guy who hadn't played in over a year. How
bad must these guys be? Hurt? And lo and behold?
It turns out they were back to practice like two
days later. I'm talking about Jones and uh and Brent's

(01:44:48):
Brents both you know back in the line Juju, I
think played on Saturday. If I'm not mistaken, So the
help is not the issue there.

Speaker 14 (01:44:57):
They lou had a ruma really, really really likes Avian Howard.

Speaker 10 (01:45:01):
That's what this is. So I'm telling you, I think
he's gonna play. He's got to get in shape, and
he's I don't think he's quite there yet, but he's
out there running around in practice and running with the
first defense at times. So I think this is a
real thing.

Speaker 12 (01:45:18):
It seems a little crazy to me.

Speaker 10 (01:45:20):
It seems a little crazy to me, but look, he
is definitely a big fan, and Rouma is a big
fan of Zavian Howard, apparently even thirty two year old
Zavian Howard.

Speaker 5 (01:45:32):
Well, and that begs the question here. So lou and Aruma,
we saw the success he had in Cincinnati, and there's
really no middle ground, or at least it didn't feel
that way. There was either high level success or the
depths of okay, we're done with you right here, and
that all hands on the availability of personnel, whether we're
talking about injuries or exodus, that defection. In this point,

(01:45:57):
who is the most important defensive player for lou Anroumo
individually speaking again, at least to start this season for
this team to have success on that side of the football.

Speaker 10 (01:46:11):
Well, I think it's a choice between the Forrest Buckner
and Savarius Award. And the reason the Forest Buckner that's
an obvious one because he commands so much attention and
he collapses the pocket and he allows other defensive linemen
to win just by his mayor presence, right, And they

(01:46:34):
got to win up front this year if they want
this to work, they got to win up trount Okay,
So he's obviously always going to be key. But I
bring up Ward because I just think the drop off
after him is pretty big. And I'm not talking about
Kenny Moore. He's a different kind of player. He's an
inside corner. But I'm talking about your options to go

(01:46:55):
play outside. They're not going to rise to the level
of that Saaris Ward Can Mooneywards. So you got to
have him. And that's why when when that guy wants
to take a rep off in practice, no one argues
with him. They say, all right, you go over there
and you you you rest up, big guy, because we
need you. Because they know they need him. I'm telling you,

(01:47:17):
like he he's the opposite of a lot of these
guys who are like, I want every snap and I
want to I want to play in the preseason and
all that he's like, I'll be good, don't worry about me.
That's that's mooney. He's an interesting guy, but he's a
competitor and I think, you know, if he plays the
way they think he's going to play, which is to
be sort of that that pest that that receivers can't

(01:47:39):
get away from, and a really physical cover guy, that's
going to allow lou An Arumo to do the things
that he wants to do strategically. But you got to
have that guy, and that is why he was the
first guy that they went unsigned and spend a lot
of money on, because that he's that important to the plan,

(01:48:00):
said Amos.

Speaker 5 (01:48:01):
Did you not say leatu latu because you don't believe
in year two he's going to be capable of having
that type of impact or no, I would say this
because I think that to me, I'm not sure he's
going to be that impactful. But I think for a
playmaking secondary which they really want, if he is, that

(01:48:24):
changes the dynamic altogether here.

Speaker 10 (01:48:28):
So I agree with all that. So I would say
I didn't say his name, but not because I think anything,
not because I think less of him. It's more about this.
I think that he still has to show that he
has that upper tier performance level in him. He hasn't
shown that yet. The other thing I can say is
that they have much more depth behind him, you know

(01:48:50):
what I mean. They have guys like you know, Quitty
and Tae Kwon Lewis and Tuli Molo. I can never
I'm going to say it right before if it kills me,
two we mo allow. I think that's right. Anyhow, it
sounds good on this show in the first place, We're okay.
It's it's a running joke in the in the media

(01:49:12):
room that none of us can say it right. But anyway, uh,
you know WCOM. They have a lot of edge guys,
none of them with his, you know, sort of pure talent.
There's a lot to right, but they have They definitely
have capable guys. So that's the other rings. But I
would agree with you in this regard if he figures
it out, and I think he needs to. Like they said,

(01:49:34):
he was the best defensive player in the draft last year,
He's got to play like it. If he does, now
they're cooking with gas. That is a game changer. Because
I do agree with you. I think if you have
a guy that that you have to slide protection to
you're opening things up for everybody else. They haven't really
had to do that. Teams haven't had to really do

(01:49:55):
that against the Colts nearly as much as they would like.

Speaker 2 (01:49:59):
Uh.

Speaker 10 (01:49:59):
They need just somebody that keeps people up at night,
you know, Venturi calls them what ambient players?

Speaker 5 (01:50:06):
Yeah?

Speaker 10 (01:50:07):
Yeah, who is the other team's coach moving sleepover? That's
the kind of guy who can do it. And I
want to see if you can.

Speaker 5 (01:50:16):
All right, Chris Ballard on Wednesday, you got a barrage
of ar questions ready for him? Or are you comfortable
with what we know right now?

Speaker 10 (01:50:28):
The same ones that I've that have asked privately of everybody,
Which is all right? The decision in the in and
of itself, it is fine, right, I mean, I I
don't take issue with the fact that they picked, you know,
picked Daniel Jones in a competition that was generally close.
I'm fine with that, and I can even accept that

(01:50:50):
he is he is better off in terms of the operations,
as shame Styken says. The only thing I would say
is this, and this is a question I have if
he's not if you say he's not good enough from
the operation perspective. Now, then why would I think he'd
be good enough a month from now, or six months

(01:51:11):
from now or a year from now. I mean, why
would I think that?

Speaker 11 (01:51:14):
Right?

Speaker 10 (01:51:14):
If you if you were telling me he's not good
enough to be your starter despite being the more talented guy,
I'm nothing the better quarterback, I said, the more talented guy, right,
If you're telling me that part of his game is
so deficient or deficient enough that that he can't that
is deciding this quarterback battle, well, I just don't. I

(01:51:35):
don't know what are we even doing here?

Speaker 11 (01:51:36):
Then?

Speaker 10 (01:51:37):
You know what I mean, that's what I would say.
I'm not saying they should cut him or trade him.
I'm saying you're the ones telling us that he can't
do that part yet, not as good as Daniel Jones.

Speaker 5 (01:51:48):
So I mean, yeah, they could us. They could tell
us all they want. The belief is gone. The belief
has gone with that decision. Was like the belief was
gone with me a year ago, and I until further
notice they have, I've moved on with somebody they believe
that is the better quarterback and help them win right now.
And that's simply puss.

Speaker 10 (01:52:05):
And it's okay if they feel that way, that's fine, right,
I mean, they're running the team. I just think that
it is asking a lot for us to accept that
you still believe in him, because this is the company line,
and it is a very difficult thing to accept it.
Just this Nationally, no one believes it, right, I mean,

(01:52:27):
and I don't know that locally we believe it. So
I don't know. I'm not here to be I'm not
here to call anybody a liar. That's not my job.
I try to be neutral. All I'm saying is, help
me understand why we should think that you still believe
in him, because you've now benched him once and now
you have picked the other guy, the new guy over

(01:52:49):
him in a quarterback battle, a guy who, by the way,
was one of the worst quarterbacks in the NFL, Daniel Jones.
So you helped me understand, is what my question is
to Chris Ballady.

Speaker 5 (01:52:59):
My prediction, I'll say it nicer than that you will
get much like they're over under in Vegas Odds of
Wednesday seasons seven and a half. I'm going to take
the over on times. He starts answers with a look
for you guys on Wednesday, I'm going to take the
over of seven and a half right there. That's fair. Yes,

(01:53:20):
that is.

Speaker 10 (01:53:22):
One thing I would also say is that they you know,
they are very I think honest about the fact that
Daniel Jones does have some injury history of his own, Okay,
just to be fair, and that's something that has internally
been talked about quite a bit, and it's one of
the reasons I don't see Anthony Richardson ever getting moved,
at least certainly not for a long time.

Speaker 5 (01:53:43):
I don't either, so I didn't even ask you. I
didn't think it was even worthy of asking. That's why
we got the Riley Leonards story line, because clearly Anthony
Richardson was too valuable to need any time, which they
talk about he needs in preseason Game three on Saturday.
It makes all the sense in the world to us
around here. Steven itarly does, by the way, to Trey

(01:54:05):
Hendrickson back with the Bengals, so he got a new
deal as he wanted. So all the conversation about whether
or not the Colts would have interests canal go away
at least for this season, because I think he's an
unrestricted free agent next year. But this season it can
go away. He is officially back and going to be
playing again in Cincinnati with at least this season a

(01:54:28):
new deal. Stephen Holder of ESPN on ESPN dot Com
and the Andy Moore Automotive Group potline. I'll be listening.
We'll see if we can help me out with that
over under of seven and a half on Wednesday too,
would you please?

Speaker 10 (01:54:40):
I will, I'll count it on you.

Speaker 5 (01:54:42):
Thanks buddy, gotcha, Steven Holder on the Andy Moore Auto
Motive Group potline. Let us take a break, we shall
come back. That Trey Hendrickson News on the Heels of
the Terry McLaurin News that more coming up. Final thirty
three one seven the text line, or you can call

(01:55:02):
and we can chat you up before the end of
the show. Ninety three to five one oh seven five
The Fan, the Ride with JMV.

Speaker 4 (01:55:12):
Look at all the ninety three five and one oh
seven five the Fan.

Speaker 5 (01:55:18):
I need some advice. I saw the Black Keys for
the first time last night. Very good show it ever
was shout out to you, Uh, Doug friend Doug Wigan
that provided the tickets last night. Dan Arbach and Patrick
Carney or the duo that make up the Black Keys
now it was packed, and it seemed like that there

(01:55:40):
were many last night at that show that had seen
the Black Keys before. So I'm curious as to what
level was that show compared to Black Keys shows of
the past. You can send me a text message three
one seven two three nine ten seventy if you want,

(01:56:04):
however you want. I'm just kind of curious. I thought
it was good. I'm assuming too. Gary Clark Junior has
played a number of times at the Slippery Noodle. He
was the opener and he was he was really good.
I'm not much into blues music, but that was some
big stuff last night. Good time. I'm glad that I attended.

(01:56:26):
I also wondered why that was it. Ever wise, I
know that they had some issues a year ago. I
think that they had separated from their management. They had
canceled an arena tour they have scheduled, but I thought
that they probably could have had an even larger crowd.

(01:56:47):
But it was really good. So those that are Black
Keys fans, you can tell me that out of curiosity.
We'll read some of those off or answer those calls.
In just a second. Two seventy. Brennan is up next
to the Hello Brennan. How are you?

Speaker 8 (01:57:05):
What is up?

Speaker 15 (01:57:06):
JMV Brennan.

Speaker 5 (01:57:07):
What's happening?

Speaker 11 (01:57:08):
I tell you what.

Speaker 16 (01:57:09):
I was playing golf yesterday with your boy, Nathan Fenn
shouted us.

Speaker 5 (01:57:15):
Oh yeah, the sherpa is in the house right here
right you Listen. I heard he called me and told
me the story. Listen, I've I've got I need to
employ you because you're a You're a hell of a
you are a hell of a backup right there for me.
Thanks for the kind words.

Speaker 11 (01:57:33):
Man.

Speaker 16 (01:57:33):
Oh dude, you know, I absolutely adore you, and it's
so funny. Man, I was telling him stories. I mean,
you and I've been hanging.

Speaker 5 (01:57:39):
Out together for yesy years we have.

Speaker 16 (01:57:42):
Uh So, I just started a new career path in
the cannabis industry. So I'm no longer in beer, wine
and spirits.

Speaker 5 (01:57:48):
Oh really, I didn't know that. What are you doing now?

Speaker 16 (01:57:50):
So now I work for a company called Three Chief
and so we are one of the largest cannabis companies
in the state.

Speaker 11 (01:57:58):
And I now.

Speaker 15 (01:57:59):
Sell uh camp in multiple forms.

Speaker 5 (01:58:02):
So yeah, wait, we'll wait a minute.

Speaker 15 (01:58:05):
Yeah, we're gonna we're gonna have to talk off air.

Speaker 16 (01:58:07):
We're gonna have to in this state in this state.

Speaker 5 (01:58:12):
How can how can that happen?

Speaker 16 (01:58:14):
Tell me, listen, it's it's gonna take a little bit
more time than the conversation we can have on this.

Speaker 5 (01:58:18):
Oh is it? I mean? And this this is legal?

Speaker 15 (01:58:22):
Listen, I promise we are so above board.

Speaker 16 (01:58:27):
Okay, it is amazing and I work for a company
that's just absolutely stellar, and I could not be more
proud to be in this industry. And uh yeah, we're
gonna talk off here. We're going to start working some
things out, but I would like to check in with
you once a week and kind of maybe give you
a four to twenty update about what I'm doing around.

Speaker 5 (01:58:45):
I'm ready. I'm ready for I sound like all the
time like people always think I sound like, what are
you cheat or show here? I'm not. I'm really not,
but I am. I'm interested for a variety of reasons,
and one of which is because we're the lone state.
I mean, we're kind of it's weird, right because everybody we're.

Speaker 16 (01:59:05):
In the middle of the donut hole.

Speaker 10 (01:59:06):
Buddy.

Speaker 5 (01:59:08):
Yeah, I'm sure that there are a lot of a
lot of financial reasons and business reasons, and I guess
reasons in general as to why we are the donut hole.

Speaker 10 (01:59:19):
Yeah, and I will.

Speaker 16 (01:59:21):
I'll gladly spend some more time with you off their
to kind of put a plan together about how we
might be able to activate. I'd love to, you know,
probably drop off.

Speaker 15 (01:59:30):
Some samples later this week or early next week. If
Cluster Truck can show up and bring j claunch, I
can easily bring legal cannabisy.

Speaker 5 (01:59:47):
Now, yeah, y'all you will have to is this so
this is off the air explanation as to how this works, Well, I.

Speaker 16 (01:59:55):
Just don't want to give Believe me, we're fully compliant.
The state knows who we are. The Central Farm Bill
was re written in twenty eighteen. We opened up our
doors in nineteen and I've got Selter's gummies vapes, and
I promise you this. It's the hottest thing trending for
adults right now in the city and the state. Tailgates
are coming. There's a whole lot of cool stuff. And

(02:00:16):
so I don't want to reveal anything. Let's wow, Let
hold it. Where's the pregnant pause?

Speaker 5 (02:00:21):
What's that?

Speaker 11 (02:00:22):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (02:00:23):
I like it? Well, you let me let me know,
let me know when you're ready for this to happen.

Speaker 16 (02:00:28):
Absolutely, So here's what I'm gonna doka, I'm gonna get
off the air. I'm gonna get your personal number and
I'll just shoot you a text and we'll put something
sound good.

Speaker 5 (02:00:36):
You got hey, James will put you on hold and
he'll give you my info.

Speaker 16 (02:00:41):
Listen, man, I appreciate you more than you know. And
what I told Nathan right you saw the natural light
jacket right now? Do you send you that picture?

Speaker 5 (02:00:49):
He did too.

Speaker 16 (02:00:50):
Yeah, that thing's ridiculous, dude, and so anneiser Busch gave
me that eight years ago. Did you see the picture
of me in front of Peyton's uh statue?

Speaker 5 (02:01:01):
You were? I did not see that, but I know
you're a man of many talents. I know that to
be sure.

Speaker 16 (02:01:05):
I'll send you that here in a minute. But yeah,
so there's a lot of new things coming that are
super cool. Okay, tailgates are gonna be great. I can't
wait to see you in person. Everybody that's listening, you know,
I love you so much, dude, and you were great
for the city.

Speaker 5 (02:01:18):
Oh man, that's Raycon Thank you.

Speaker 16 (02:01:21):
You know this, man, I mean, and I'm not blowing
smoke either, hare.

Speaker 5 (02:01:24):
No, this is you got man, You got all this
cannabis reference down right here. Brother, let me tell.

Speaker 16 (02:01:30):
I've got you. Brother, So hey, let's let's let's talk
off the air. We'll put a plan together and we'll
get we'll get cracked like an arm.

Speaker 5 (02:01:36):
You got a man. Thank you. It's Brendan right there.
I had no idea he was in there. Get his
give him my info if you would, jamv what is
happening to the show exkivvies. I had no idea, and
there's so much I don't know literally, but that was

(02:02:00):
interesting to say the least.

Speaker 10 (02:02:05):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (02:02:06):
Nathaniel, who will sit in for James and produce this
show and also will produce the Coast pregame Huddle, is
who Brennan just talked about playing golf with. Because Nathaniel
called me and said, hey, you know, I just played
with a guy that list year a great deal. So

(02:02:26):
that's pretty cool. Shout out to Brennan right there. The
wine Shirpa is also how I know him, probably more
than Brenn. If you say Brennan, that's one thing when
you say wine shah Yeah, okay, the wine shurper James.
James is saying memo, right, wait a minute, I got
to write this down. That's pretty outstanding. It is to

(02:02:52):
the break we go but three one seven, two, three, nine,
ten seventy that is the text line, JMV. My first
time seeing the Black Key. It was my bucket list.
I missed them when I was at iu Ohio State
game a year ago. They played for ESPN or Fox.
One of the two must have been Fox. I guess right.

(02:03:13):
Great show last night, Jeff, Jeff, it was a great
show last night. It was my first time, good band
to go see. Really enjoyable man, the Black Keys. We'll
close it out with you on the other side. Get
your set for tomorrow. Ryan Wilson of CBS, Stephen Holder
of ESPN, and a busy week with so many opportunities
for you to be a part of the show. That's

(02:03:34):
what we want you to be a part of the show.
Quick break, We're back with you next the stream of
the app HD Radio the Triple A Membership Lounge. Become

Speaker 4 (02:03:50):
The Ride with JMV.

Speaker 9 (02:03:52):
If anybody needed a victory.

Speaker 10 (02:03:58):
Different time, I.

Speaker 5 (02:04:00):
Think we have to start again.

Speaker 4 (02:04:02):
Ninety three five and one oh seven five, the fan
sky point.

Speaker 5 (02:04:09):
To the late great Robin Miller, who passed away on
this date four years ago. Oh man, we miss him
so much. R Miller.

Speaker 4 (02:04:24):
Four.

Speaker 5 (02:04:25):
Yeah, I cannot believe it's been four years. Yeah, we
will always remember this date. R Miller. This is from
Paulie and Indy. Buddy must have just watched Glengarry Glenn Ross,
which I brought up a number of times last week,

(02:04:46):
because he was closing that entire call. Always be closing,
and that is so, that is so right on so
many different levels, always be closing. Trey Hendrickson in financially

(02:05:09):
happy for this season. Terry McLaurin, the wide receiver in
financially happy now this season in Cincinnati and in Washington, respectively.
I think McLaurin, the Indianapolis native, was kind of a
hold in, if you will. But they are back. So

(02:05:36):
all that dialogue of what the Colt should do and
trade for Hendrickson and go out and get it is
now all disapparing, disappearing and taking his place is do
you think they have any interest in trading Anthony Richardson?
By the way, Colts cut down, It's coming up tomorrow.
Chris Ballard meets with the media coming up on Wednesday,

(02:05:59):
he's going to prepare for all these Anthony richardson and
again the simple answer is yes, Yes, it's okay to
say they've given up on him, because they have not.
If they have to go to him, they will. And
I think anybody out there probably expects them at some
point to be playing him again, because that's just the

(02:06:20):
way the quarterback situation has been. But you know, second
string him at the start of the year, a former
top four pick, somebody you've benched prior and then suggests
that you're not going a different direction because with Daniel Jones,
they clearly are and they feel that they can win

(02:06:42):
and win in the now with Daniel Jones. Fairly simple,
really is needs no introduction. Busy weekend though for everybody
jmv Riley Leonard will start for the Colts due to

(02:07:05):
injuries by week six. That would be the only reason
he would start for the Colts. Corey, But that's not
an outrageous prediction at all, because we've seen worse, haven't we.
College football season already underway both Purdue IU and then

(02:07:28):
add in Notre Dame, all with games coming up this
weekend too, So got a lot going on. Always a
great time of year, it is, and I know everybody
out there absolutely loves the temperatures, how the sun is
back out, so that is good. At least when I
saw it in a hallway at his backout, JAMV. Do

(02:07:51):
you buy it Riley Leonard being the future of this
Colts team whatsoever, I am not allowed to buy it.
I have to be or this case remains skepticle until
you see Moore because I've been down this path before,
whether it's Chad Kelly or Sam Ellinger. I will say this.
It was a moment and he did exactly what needed

(02:08:13):
to be done in that moment on Saturday in Cincinnati,
and he threw an outstanding bull to Lakwan Credwell for
a touchdown. But again, we all understand, we all know
the circumstances. That's how it went down, and that's great,

(02:08:35):
and I'm not going to again, I'm going to allow
you to be happy. But this is going to be
a Daniel Jones start of the season thing. Now. You
can look at that regular season opener a couple of
different ways. One is, oh man, it's Daniel Jones. He's
twenty games under five hundred. Look what he did in

(02:08:57):
his six seasons with the Giants. Yuck. But you can
also suggest, hey, maybe this new formula works in week
number one. All you're looking for is a win in
week one for the first time in forever. The bar
is literally set that low, but the Colts believe that

(02:09:18):
to be a winning bar, all right for me? Thursday,
Friday and Saturday. Sid's tavern tourstop heaven Hill Distillery Thursday
on the Square in Noblesville. We got to see you there.
Friday and Saturday, both Mystic Waters Campground outside of Pendleton.
The I sixty nine Pendleton exit this show on Friday

(02:09:40):
with Brent Halverson. The JMV takeover on Saturday Night six
until midnight Live with Brent Halverson as well. James Great
job out to you, Ryan Wilson of CBS podcast one
oh seven five thefan dot Com. Stephen Holder of ESPN
podcast asked as well. Greg great Straw week number one

(02:10:03):
of the high school football season and the books will
go over that and college football with Greg and Moore
tomorrow beginning at three. Have a great night,
