Speaker 1 (00:10):
And where we go here?
Speaker 2 (00:13):
Anything you have a chance against us?
Speaker 3 (00:14):
Mister cowboy gayo, what do you like to do?
Speaker 2 (00:18):
Oh?
Speaker 4 (00:19):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (00:20):
Play chess?
Speaker 2 (00:21):
School Sweller's play chess. They give off that Chona Taylor
Chuck cunning its way cooking the goal line. He's in there,
puts down and why Jonathan Taylor Whiler.
Speaker 4 (00:33):
Finds here's haliber into the front court.
Speaker 2 (00:38):
Mishandled it. Mcgin say shot beds it. John.
Speaker 5 (00:44):
I have never been bedroom to be on the air
with you here in Indianapolis, a place where so many
of my dreams have come true.
Speaker 4 (00:51):
The ride with JMV on ninety three five and one
oh seven.
Speaker 2 (00:55):
Five the fan. I let's get into it on a Tuesday.
Thank you all for joining us. You may have to
come in here because I can't get this damn thing
to share anything right now, So yeah, you may have
to come in and look. Thank you. Well you look
there it is. I'm sorry, hey, by the way, we're
figuring out stuff right now because James is going to
hook up with Chris Hagen to Fox fifty nine, who
was staked out in southern California as the Ousiers did
(01:18):
arrive last night. There go James and get set for
the New Year's Day Rose Bowl Epic in Pasadena, California.
Hagen's going to join us with all the latest storylines
on that.
Speaker 6 (01:32):
Man.
Speaker 2 (01:33):
It is awesome because as disappointing once again as this
cult season has been, and you're mired and disappointment with
that team, that organization and the stinks, the newfound glory
and the excitement that you get. I know not everybody
(01:55):
out there is an I you fan, but damn, considering
how they have crashed this college football traditionalist ball is
pretty amazing, is it not amazing? And we'd be saying
the same thing if you were an IU fan and
(02:16):
Purdue they were doing that, you probably wouldn't like it,
but you'd say the same thing. You said the same
thing regarding you know, IU, if you're a Purdue fan.
I'm assuming right now too. It is just really cool
the way this has worked out so far, and you're
watching AU take advantage with their football program of you know,
(02:38):
let's face the things you never really thought they were
going to be capable of taking advantage of. And I
think that's pretty damn awesome. I really do.
Speaker 1 (02:49):
So.
Speaker 2 (02:49):
Hagen is in la Hagen's going to join us coming
up in just a bit, and we shall go over
all that and then some regarding that matchup coming up
on Thursday in fact, and things officially get underway tomorrow.
We're going to go through a little bit of betting
odds and lines with you on that coming up a
little bit later. On another bummer of an evening for
(03:10):
the Pacers. They didn't try to hang all right, they
played played it out, did try to hang alas they
lose again. Now six and twenty seven on the season
one twenty six one nineteen is the final last night
in Houston. They go back to back home dates Wednesday.
That's tomorrow afternoon at three o'clock, two thirty. Your coverage
(03:33):
begins right here on the fans, So Jake will take
you up on Quarrying Company until two thirty. Now he
had mentioned, I'm not going to be doing the show tomorrow. However,
i will start season number six of the JMV takeover
good Lord Willing coming up. Because I've had to learn
a lot of new things. I have no idea what
I'm doing, and that's not like it's very far off
(03:56):
the normal course that I have, but it has the
last time I think I have done this type of
cramming job. It's been a while, to say the least,
but it is going to be enjoyable. Season six of
the JMV takeover Starch tomorrow night on B one zero
five point seven. So hopefully, wherever you're going and whatever
(04:18):
you're doing on New Year's Eve, A, you do it
safely and B I love saying it this way too.
Do it with me. You guys want to do it
with me tomorrow night six o'clock and normally we'll go
right up until we go from twenty five to twenty six.
And I know skids is put together a midnight and
(04:40):
after as we celebrate many mix leading up to it,
So it is going to be exceptional. Now I can
screw it up, and I probably will, but I think
I know enough to at least keep us between the
lines and have a party. See make sure that whatever
you're doing, wherever you're going, you take your mobile party
(05:03):
with me with you coming up tomorrow night. I know
some of you may have to work. Take me with you.
Let's do it together, shall we? Tomorrow night six until
after midnight certainly on B one oh five point seven.
For that so I mentioned the Pacers have that afternoon
(05:24):
affair on New Year's Eve afternoon three o'clock tip time
versus the Orlando Magic and then Victor Wembin Yama and
San Antonio coming up on Friday, that is at seven
o'clock six thirty. Covers begins right here on the fans,
So that means we're going to be at the Hey,
what's going on, guys, Good to see you, Ralston's Craft
(05:47):
House with bud light on a blue Friday coming up
on Friday, so we will have to get into the
Colts happy hour a little bit earlier than usual. But
all should be good coming up on Friday, and some
people would ask out anywhere today, Unfortunately we are not.
I do like being in studio. However, we are out
of Ralston's Draft House coming up on Friday, and we'll
(06:11):
be drinking some ice cold bud lights and having a
hell of a time giving stuff away. So hopefully you
join us off of mass Ave that is coming up
on Friday too. I didn't want to give a shout
out for all the college basketball games going on last night.
We'll get into Riley Leonard and the Colts and all
that coming up in a minute, because We'll spend a
hell of a lot of time on it, but I
didn't want to start here, and I wanted James a
(06:34):
little bit later on to play Matt Paynter in what
he said about the landscape of college basketball at this moment,
in particular what Scott Drew and Baylor has done to
secure on the fly a former NBA drafted player that
(06:58):
according to whatever rules and regulations there are now, which
are very few, if any whatsoever, is within the guidelines
to do so. But Matt has a really good point
that he makes when asked after the game last night.
By the way, Boilermakers are one on one sixty winner
over Kent State, fifth rank Purdue four games consecutively, and
(07:22):
that was the Jack Benter game. Shout out to Brownstown Central.
Jack pours in twenty points, perfect from the floor, perfect
from distance. That's the type of stinking night I'm gonna
have later on tonight at CG seven for seven, six
for six, Jack Benter, So good for Jack Fletcher Lawyer
(07:46):
had nineteen, Trey Kaufman, Wren fifteen and twelve, and the
Boilermakers now twelve and one. One on one sixty again
is the final over Kent's Day. But I also wanted
to bring this up because our Sycamore is going to
great win last night eighty one eighty over Belmont. That
was a final and overtime at the Home and Center
in Tera Hate. But you saw back on the sidelines
(08:07):
again our good friend Matthew Graves and his Sycamores responded.
Belmont going into that game was a one loss squad,
unbeaten in the Mole Valley, one loss on the season,
and the Sycamores and eighty one eighty victory over Belmont
in overtime and full time. Welcome back. We had him
(08:31):
on a couple of weeks ago as he was just
returning and kind of slowly after that triple bypass sliding
back into things, but fully back as of last night
and solidly done he was. And shout out to our
Sycamores for that win and a much needed win in
(08:53):
fact for Indiana State and our good friend Matthew Graves
over in terre Hope Ball State a winner. I you
Indy User on the road to Cleveland State last night
as well. Valpo a loser in Mow Valley play fifty
eight to forty eight to Northern Iowa Milwaukee over Purdue
Fort Wayne and Bradley over Evansville also in the Mo Valley.
(09:14):
In college basketball last night, the Monday nighter was interesting.
Is this going to voicemail? Let me tell him to
sorry about that? James has said it's just going to
voicemail for Hagen. I wonder if Hagan has our number here?
Surely he does, right, Hey, Hagen, call us now, is
(09:36):
what I'm going to say. As Hagen is live out
in Pasadena, California. I was talking about last night, the
Monday night game. It's weird, right because the social media
and things that are said. You know a lot of
people have been down on Pokin Nakua. The one thing
you can't be down on is his skill set. We
almost witnessed arguably the greatest catch and I know, David
(09:59):
Tyree the Super Bowl that's won, and you know, you
go all the way back to now, I'll get to
that in just a second, to the Beckham catch. But
almost at the end of that game, on that final
drive for the Rams, that was like one handed, one
handed until he went to the ground. I'll get back
(10:21):
to that that Monday Night er. In the second Colt's
conversation with Riley Leonard gonna start in Houston coming up
in the regular season finale as well. Meantime, on the
Andy Moore Automotive Group potline, there is in southern California.
Where as the song goes, it never rains in southern California. Unfortunately,
the forecast says it's going to later on this week
for the Rose Bowl. On New Year's Day, a Fox
(10:43):
fifty nine Chris Hagan joins us. Now, hello, Chris, how
are you seems.
Speaker 7 (10:48):
It never rains in southern California. That's a great on
It already is raining?
Speaker 2 (10:55):
Oh is it raining right now out there on you?
Speaker 8 (10:58):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (10:58):
Brett Bensley and I are headed to the practice facility
where IU will hit the field in a couple hours,
and it's already raining and it's supposed to be worse
come Thursday. And you know, Brett, what was the stat
Brett had some kind of miraculous stat of how many
Rose bulls it's rained on and it's minuscule.
Speaker 8 (11:16):
But.
Speaker 7 (11:18):
Less than a dozen in one hundred and thirty six years,
and the first one since six So it looks like
we're heading toward one of those.
Speaker 2 (11:24):
Yeah, that's that's something right there. It's been few and
far between. I will say this, you've got anything in
mind of who if it is rating, which evidently is
going to be if if there is a favoring from
a weather angle, either for Bama or are you got
anything in mind on that?
Speaker 7 (11:43):
Well, that's what's funny is in the media lounge, I've
heard media from both covering both schools say it favors them.
You know. I've heard Alabama people saying it favors in
and I've heard iupple. I think it favors the team
that can take care of the football when you're in
bad weather, and I think that's going to be key anyway.
But it is one more thing on the rain thing.
I remember when the Colts won Super Bowl forty one Peyton,
(12:05):
which quick to point out it was the first Super
Bowl that ever got rained on. So for some reason
in Indiana, if you're going to do something special and memorable,
it's got to get rained on. But yeah, I think
this matchup is interesting. We had they had media today
where they had all the players and the coaches available
to us, and you can tell they don't want to
talk about Signette doesn't want to talk about Obama mystique.
(12:28):
He kind of chirped at me a little bit when
I asked about it. And the players know about it,
they know what Alabama represents, and he's really getting Hie
out here to watch the game. You can tell you
squashed that about Hey, great, what we did means nothing.
Thirteen of who cares it all starts on Thursday.
Speaker 2 (12:50):
Yeah, and normally he didn't want any anything infiltrating his
players heads or really he just doesn't want to hear
it because, as we've talked about, it is right now
a new era. I mean, you certainly have a blue
blood that you're going to be playing against in the
world of college football. Maybe at the highest of levels,
but let's just face it, because of the change in
(13:13):
landscape or everything that's that's changed legitimately the on the
field product. Do you look at Alabama and you know
Alabama historically speaking, Chris, you know this to be true.
They're always being able to power, run, run the football
very productively. But that hasn't been there for Tee this season.
So that's when you think about, you know, maybe the
rain falling. I use got a couple of backs that
(13:35):
always fall forward, maybe not flashy, maybe not marquee names
but get the job done. That's something I think to
look at on the ground, because again, this land of
college football right now is just not what it used
to be.
Speaker 7 (13:50):
Yeah, you think about the bevy of tailbacks that Alabama
has had over the years, you know, Henry Ingram, you know,
you know right down the line, that's not the case.
And they've had to really rely on the past of
Ty Simpson to move the ball and get things done,
and so that could.
Speaker 9 (14:06):
Be an issue for them.
Speaker 7 (14:07):
But you do know this too, is Alabama's lineup is
littered with five and four star players. We're talking to
my players last night and need joke that you know,
we play from here on that there's going to be
teams that didn't recruit you play guys with a chip
on their shoulders. So yeah, you're you're lining up against
the team that has tradition about winning, tradition about running
(14:28):
the football, and all they need to worry about is
the team they see on tape right down and a
team that has shown some weaknesses that Crimson tied teams
in the past hasn't.
Speaker 2 (14:37):
Yeah, all right, so you Omar Cooper Junior cleared and
good to go. That's good news, you know, about Steven
Daily and that's going to be a big deal defensively,
but overall health wise. What do you think about the
Hoosiers says they go into this Roles Bowl coming up
on Thursday.
Speaker 7 (14:54):
Lamar today and we're going to hear from him. Here's
a shameless plug at five o'clock on Fox nine today.
He says he's not quite one hundred percent. He admitted that,
and he hopes he's as good as he can be.
But he is going to get to be a partner
of this and lit's face, he's been a huge One
of the main reasons they're sitting here still ndefeated is
because of him in that catch. So yeah, it'd be
(15:15):
great to see him able to contribute all hands on deck.
And yeah, but he's he's been busting his tail, rehabbing
and trying to get back. But he admits he's not
quite there yet, but he's still got a couple of days.
Speaker 2 (15:26):
So can you tell so far? I mean, is speaking
mystique and such as the Heisman Trophy winner? Is there
a whirlwind of activity, A bevy of activity media wise
and interest around Fernando Mendoza, the AU quarterback.
Speaker 7 (15:42):
Oh yeah, his podium was packed today from start to finish,
and he made a stop first at the Big ten Networks,
a little set up there. But I'll tell you what,
and this is in no way a dig at the kid.
I love him, but he is he is like a
pre programmed robot where it says, you know, when you
were a kid, you would ask a question to any
push button one and he would say that. He is
(16:04):
so well spoken as far as his answers, and you
can ask him anything, you know. I was asking this
and that and the other thing, and then the guy
asked him his favorite Mexican dish and in his favorite
Cuban dish, and it was like he had had a
script to all the questions that were going to be
asked him beforehand, because he is sharp and he is
well prepared. And that's just how he is in interviews,
(16:25):
you know, and talking to people. So on the football
field he always is as well. You can tell he's.
Speaker 3 (16:30):
Enjoying the ride.
Speaker 7 (16:31):
He doesn't seem to have you know, he's not caught
up in all the you know, hey, I'm we're undefeated,
a number one, I'm the Heisman Trophy. He just seems
kind of like the same offshucks kid he was when
Hoo's your fans first got introduced to him earlier in
this season.
Speaker 2 (16:44):
So Chris aging a Fox fifty nine you can catch everything,
especially with Omar Cooper junior of IU, with him coming
up later on this afternoon and later on this evening
and then later on tonight as well on Fox fifty
nine as he is in Pasadena, California on the Andy
Moore Auto Motive Group plotlines. So you're from the state
of Alabama, so you've constantly been surrounded by rednecks. How
(17:05):
do the rednecks down there field about this particular Alabama
product right now compared to past teams.
Speaker 7 (17:12):
Well, let's first be let's full disclosure. I was born
in Mississippi. I'm Mississippi.
Speaker 2 (17:17):
Oh okay, I'm sorry.
Speaker 7 (17:18):
But I did grow up around Alabama fan Because I
was back home for some family stuff a couple of
weeks ago. I was actually in an Alabama bar when
Alabama came back and beat Oklahoma, and it reminded me
of why I hate Alabama fans so much. But there
was a guy on the shuttle bus at the airport
yesterday and he had his Alabama ziplap and I was
(17:39):
telling him you know what's from Indiana And he said, well,
you know Indiana. I mean, they don't have any great players.
And he was just typical Alabama speak. He was an
Alabama gready at the quarterback. I mean he didn't really
do anything. So I think Alabama fans have that will
come in here with that same attitude of you know,
we're Alabama, We're going to beat Indiana and they might
(17:59):
be for rude awakening. But the players I talked to
today about you know, they watched that game as well,
the Oklahoma Alabama game and felt like, wow, we're going
to play Oklahoma, and then all of a sudden, you
see what Alabama can do at the drop of a hat.
So they respect Alabama. They were up the tradition. I
don't think they fear Alabama or any team. And that's
why it was so big to win that, you know,
(18:22):
beat Ohio State back in India in the Big Ten
championship game to say, okay, this is a big bed wolf,
a brand name, a national champion of team we haven't
beaten since the eighties. So to get that one off
the list, I think now they can go into any
matchup and not have any unreasonable fear just based on
the name on the jersey.
Speaker 2 (18:41):
So we got to see tonight in the dialogue the
question do you asked Kurt Signetti? Did he get snippy
with you at all?
Speaker 7 (18:49):
I said, I said to Signetti something like, you want
than anybody are aware of the Alabama mystique. How do
you can you know, convey to the players that they're
not playing the tradition, they're just playing against this particular team.
And he said something like, I think you know about
their tradition. You know more about the mostique than these
(19:11):
players do, and implying that. And then I talked to
the players, and every player knew about the mostique of Alabama.
So you can tell that's the message. He is downplaying
the hey this is Alabama type thing, and which he should,
but it was kind of funny he didn't. And then
later when I asked him another question about the Oklahoma
Alabama game, he did give a very glowing remark about
(19:32):
about how good Alabama is and how he respects the program,
but will he wanted no part about it first when
I brought it up.
Speaker 2 (19:39):
It's, yeah, it's just how he's he's built, and yeah,
you get no argument from anybody considering the results up
to this point. So you just continue to handle it
how you handle it.
Speaker 7 (19:51):
Yeah, he does. He does win, and you can tell
this is a well oiled machine. Like all the players.
You can tell they know the talking points and they
fail in their line. And while he did get snippy
at me at one point, he did also wink at
me twice. So I think I got back in grace.
Speaker 2 (20:03):
No, that's just that's like the first time he got
when he first got the gig and he came up
with me. I mean you could kind of tell and
and from what I'm you know, with Don often and
he kind of explains to me personality wise, I mean,
he's a he's a fun loving guy. But that's just
kind of how he responds, responds to questions. I mean,
(20:24):
it just reminds you like he is, like we are
just older dudes responding, you know, the questions for mostly
younger dudes, and he go, uh whatever.
Speaker 7 (20:33):
So, yeah, he did. He had a good He had
a good turn at the podium. He was interesting, usual,
said some good stuff, and he I also saw DoD Fisher.
Dad was here at the media day taking it all in,
and I asked Fish if he was going to have
go golfing, and you can tell that on some trips
maybe he'll go looking to do that, but he's faking
it all in. He's loving the moment, and Fish is
(20:55):
all business on this trip as well.
Speaker 2 (20:56):
So you and Brett gonna go to the bars later
on tonight? What are you going to hit up out
the Southern Castle or.
Speaker 7 (21:01):
Luckily they have they have a media lounge. What in
the hotel room? I went over to against Bread and
the ping pong tournament last night, but I did take
two out of three on the pool table, including a
rousing victory on the final round.
Speaker 2 (21:15):
You're going to go to southern California and hang out
with a bunch of nerds? Are you kidding me? Go
to a bar or something? Don'ty find a bar somewhere trendy?
You're a trendy walk If you.
Speaker 7 (21:27):
Would have walked the one block from our hotel to
the IU hotel last night, I think you agreed to
stay off the streets in La after dark?
Speaker 2 (21:35):
Walking in La? Who sings it missing persons? Well done? Hey?
Is Whitaker out there too?
Speaker 7 (21:43):
Yes, she's I believe she was flying in today and
I'll see here a little bit later today.
Speaker 2 (21:47):
Well done, all right, Well keep us updated. We'll go ahead.
Speaker 7 (21:50):
Last thing for you, John, I excited about it is
I make fun of Alabama fans, but I got a
lot of friends, which is this is my world's colliding.
I'm guessing I don't know how many people I'm gonna
say that I know from Indiana and from Alabama out here.
So I love the idea that these where I grew
up and where I live are coming together. So it
should be should be exciting times. And at least one
group of fans I know are going to be pretty
(22:11):
happy moving on.
Speaker 2 (22:12):
But those in southern California are probably going, what the
hell is going on around here right now?
Speaker 7 (22:17):
So a lot of Crimson, the Crimson and the Cream
and Crimson, and it's going to be good stuff.
Speaker 2 (22:23):
Chris Haygin a Fox fifty nine's got Omar Cooper Junior
a little bit later on, and then obviously he and
Brett once they're done in Southern California, we'll catch the
Riley Leonards start coming up in Houston, and the Colts
finale on Sunday, right, So yeah, yeah, we kind of.
Speaker 7 (22:37):
Saw that coming night. I think it's best for Philip
to go out a home game and pack it in.
I'd hate to see him go down there and something happened,
you know, in a meaning, truly meaningless game down there
in Houston. So yeah, give Rally a shot. Let him
see what he's got, because I know a lot of
a lot of Colts fans have been chirping about that.
So get him out there and see what comes of that.
Speaker 9 (22:59):
It should be.
Speaker 7 (23:00):
It could be a meaningful game still for the Texan
So you'll get that full notes of the rush that
they have, the details that they have in full effect
right now, so that'll.
Speaker 2 (23:10):
Be interesting there. My pick to come onto the AFC
to the Super Bowl as of right now, which that
means they're screwed.
Speaker 7 (23:16):
Yeah, you gave you gave him the kiss of death,
the kiss of death. We'll do it again this time tomorrow.
We'll talk to you again and we'll see if the
Brett n I survived.
Speaker 2 (23:25):
The media partner you got, Bro, Appreciate you, Thanks Chris,
Chris taking a Fox fifty nine and again Omar Cooper
junior friend of this show later on today with Chris
on Fox fifty Now, I'm assuming some of CBS four
content as well. If you're watching the CBS affiliate here
in town. James is over there, I'm John. Thank you
for joining us Triple A membership lounge via YouTube lib.
(23:45):
I have my hands spread apart and out and welcoming
all of you to this Tuesday show in studio. The
stream of the app it is HD Radio. Thank you
so much for joining us. Covers dot com content. A
little bit later on Mike Chappel. A little bit later
on Greg Rakestraw celebrating a birthday, he joins us coming
(24:08):
up on the other side, which means, don't go anywhere.
We got you covered, including Coach's conversation in the next
five minutes, So don't go anywhere. Notty three five, one
oh seven five The Fan, the ride with JMV.
Speaker 10 (24:23):
Why not, mister Benkermin because you did not use the
magic word.
Speaker 3 (24:27):
What it is the magic word, mister Fanklin.
Speaker 4 (24:31):
Please ninety three five and one oh seven five the Fan.
Speaker 2 (24:37):
Oh, we got a birthday to celebrate. Coming in here,
by the way, Butler Creighton later on tonight, what is
that on here in the building? Is that on here tonight?
I should have a right in front of my face
right here? Don't oh? Butler and Creighton later on tonight
eight thirty Right here, shout out to Todd Meyer for
riding that in front of my face, I mean, not
realizing it until just now. Butler and Creighton later on tonight,
(25:02):
Notre Dame and Stanford also this evening in college basketball.
JAMV nice to be going into creyton tonight when it's
not dollar beer night. Dogs need to get to when
this one Jarrett, We'll see what Butler can do on
the road. This is not your average McDermott coach type
(25:23):
of team right now. I mean, I think Greg McDermott's
got the type of squad that we were used to
seeing at Creighton to get eight thirty later on tonight,
Butler and Creighton. I mentioned the birthday celebration on the
Andy Moore Automotive group hootline. Greg Raikstraw, who joins us,
now you are forty nine today? Is that accurate?
Speaker 10 (25:46):
That is correct, sir, heading towards fifty one year ago.
Speaker 2 (25:49):
Happy birthday to you brother. How are you feeling? Do
you feel forty nine or younger? Older?
Speaker 6 (25:55):
Old? I feel old, fat and winded.
Speaker 10 (25:57):
An they get us played tennis for the last hour,
so at least I've got an excuse.
Speaker 2 (26:01):
That is well done out of Greg Graystraw. What the
tennis played, you might have more of a Jim Currier
or Stefan Edinburgh or a monts Velander type of game.
Speaker 10 (26:12):
I was always more along the lines of Jim Currier
because I was a baseball player first, so I was
having a target. So I was going to try to
draw you in and hit around you. Now I'm for
not dying. That is my game plan. If you can
win the point, great, but if not, you know, stay upright,
as you like to say, keep your toast. Happened my
general thought when I'm playing these days.
Speaker 2 (26:33):
Edinburgh and Vlander were Swedish, so they were serving volley guys,
were they not. Back in the late eighties early nineties.
Speaker 10 (26:40):
Edinburgh was Cleylander was the opposite. Lander was the guy
that would just try to rally with you forever. So
when Blander and Lindall would play, it would be great.
The problem would be complete a man. So Vlander was
the opposite of most of the suites.
Speaker 2 (26:57):
Gotcha, that makes a lot of sense right there, Greg,
Greg Straw is really more automotive group pileline. Appreciate you
joining us. Riley Leonard is going to get the start.
Of course, you got one final postgame show with Bill
Brooks coming up after the game, the regular season finale
on Sunday. Nobody should be surprised that he's going to
get the start in this finale. That is meetingless right here,
(27:17):
but anything in general terms you're looking for for this
team whatsoever? Or are you just kind of looking to
get to the post game and call it a season.
Speaker 11 (27:27):
No.
Speaker 10 (27:27):
I mean we'll talk probably five percent in the postgame
show about what happens Funday.
Speaker 6 (27:33):
Everything else to be.
Speaker 10 (27:34):
Kind of recapping twenty five and trying to project what
twenty six and changes and things that need to be done,
et cetera. Riley Leonard should get the ball in scenario
because you need to give him more live fire action
in case you need him at the start of next year. Again,
I think the best case in HARP for this team
is Daniel Jones as their quarterback. But he's under contract
(27:56):
and you're not sure if he's to be ready by
the middle of September. So I understood the move, I'm
not sure I agree with it. Understood the move basically
saying three weeks ago, we don't think Riley Leonards is
ready to go win a game that has to get
us in the playoff. Let's go get the best available option,
which was felt to be Philip Rivers. And as crazy
as that sounds, it wasn't like handing the ball to
(28:19):
Brett Rippon or trying to get somebody else. Uf A
practice squad would have given you a better option. So
if you felt Riley wasn't the guy, go bring in
Philip Rivers. As soon as that did not work, and
you could not make that change from Saturday night to
Sunday at one o'clock, you weren't going to flip that script.
Rivers is going to get the ball on Sunday regardless.
Speaker 2 (28:38):
Give it to.
Speaker 6 (28:39):
Riley, see how he does.
Speaker 10 (28:40):
And again you're just trying to get him more experienced
in case you need him for Week one next year.
Speaker 2 (28:47):
I'm curious, and Greg, Greg Shaws and the Andy Moore
Automotive Group potline, we're all looking, searching, pontificating if you will,
for answers. Do you think those answers from carly erse
will come immediately following as in Monday of next week
or might we be waiting for a minute, because I mean,
(29:08):
really we don't really know we don't really know what
the decision is going to be because there is no
certainly past in decision making from her. But is it
going to be sooner rather than later in your expectation.
Speaker 10 (29:21):
I think it has to be because if you're going
to make a move general manager spot, then obviously going
to get a scouting plan, game plan, for agency plan,
whatever the case may be. And so I think that
needs to be made immediately. And again last year you
saw the tweet that went out from Jim as soon
as the last game of the season was over that hey,
we are, you know, staying the same course. We're going
(29:42):
to roll for who we got and plan accordingly. So
I think you're given the gift of time slightly on
the head coach. I don't think it has to be
tied to get at the hip, to use the phraseology
from a decade or so ago, But if you're going
to make a move at the general manager position, you
have to make that move as soon as possible. Not
(30:04):
saying that's going to happen, but I think you're going
to make that move, it has to be day of
or day out.
Speaker 6 (30:09):
Hees to really do.
Speaker 2 (30:09):
Greg greg Stow on the Andy morning out monif group. Potline,
let's switch some gears to college basketball. So you get
Butler on the road to Creighton. I mentioned this as
we walked you in here. This is the type of
game on the road. Normally it would be difficult, and
I'm sure it's going to be difficult anyway, but this
is not your usual Creighton squad that Butler sees later
on tonight.
Speaker 10 (30:29):
Correct, this is a gettable game for Butler. And again
everything is past failed for the Bulldogs. Did you make
the NZ Tournament or not? And still because of having
such a stretch of conference games left to go, plenty
of oportuns to do so. I don't know if we've
entered JMB must win territory, but this is one of
this group can go.
Speaker 2 (30:47):
Get all right, you look at the Big Ten landscape
we saw the boiler Makers win last night. Kind of
interesting comments, per usual from Matt Painter regarding the college
basketball landscape right now when the so called rules of
it well sidestep that for at least the moment Purdue
going into the Big Ten, how do they compare with
those elite level squads of the conference. And I guess
(31:09):
if we're talking about those elite level squads. You kind
of begin with Dusty May and Michigan from what we've
seen so far.
Speaker 10 (31:16):
Correct Michigan as the team you set, you're watch too.
If you're not named Purdue. Again, this is different. Maybe
it's not even different than College Foota anymore, because you
could have multiple teams in the same conference and the
championship game, final four, you know, Elite eight, whatever the
case may be. But I think everything for Purdue is
get the Indianapolis and so you know it'd be better
than Michigan. It's nice if you are, but everything is
(31:39):
about making sure you are battle tested, ready and seeded
to get the best possible path to play a final
four in your own backyard. So and for even as
good as Michigan he is, and if for due were
able to best them in the Big Ten tournament or
best them in the re season, you say, that's great.
Now get back to the final four that you did
(32:01):
two years ago, and get to that final game you
did two years ago, and win the national championship like
you didn't do two years ago. That's just the ball
that this group has set by being so good for
the last handfull of years and especially the last four
that this core group has been together in terms of Brayden,
Fletcher and Trey Kaufman Wren. So the big ten is
(32:24):
always important. The big ten gets you battle tested. But
I really think for Purdue it's almost, hey, let's let's
see how you are at mid March, because that's that's
how this group is going to be remembered.
Speaker 2 (32:34):
Gregan, And speaking of Dusty May and Michigan, they are
putting up at least offensively, certainly, and you know the
difference in all their games, even against elite level teams,
top ten teams, top five teams. They're doing some things
we have not seen.
Speaker 10 (32:52):
Correct. You give the coaching mind of Dusty all the
resources you can have in Michigan, you're gonna tear something up.
Speaker 6 (33:00):
Exactly what they are doing.
Speaker 10 (33:02):
It's it's impressive, it's jaw dropping, and frankly, I don't
think there is the same level of pressure there that
there is on a Matt Painter there is at other
places in terms of success, I don't think they're judging them.
They'd like to be a Final four team, they'd like
to be a national championship team, but obviously done that
in recent history in terms of the program. So it's
(33:24):
a matter of getting back there and seeing what happens.
I think that group is given the luxury of enjoying
the journey, maybe a little bit more than even.
Speaker 2 (33:31):
Purdue is all right, I you basketball wise, ten and three,
one in one. They open up on Sunday the fourth
against Washington, again re establishing big ten play. Your thoughts
on Darren Devrees and the accomplishments of the Hoosiers so
far this season, So it's been good, not great.
Speaker 10 (33:49):
Clearly a lot of the traits that fans have been
asking for this team is better at, just namely shooting
the basketball and playing a much more enjoyable style. The
question mark is the overall level of talent and can
they you know, hang with the level of athleticism needed
to be successful in terms of big ten plays. So
we'll see how that plays out. I find it curious
(34:12):
they have this lengthy gap in their season, almost like
they knew, you know what, maybe we should just clear
some space for the football team to play on New
Year's Day in a college football playoff game. So we'll
see what the ring rust looks like for this group
come Sunday afternoon. But again, I think, so.
Speaker 6 (34:28):
Far for Indiana.
Speaker 10 (34:30):
It is as expected. You can kind of tell that
they are heading in the right direction, and I think
the long term future is bright.
Speaker 6 (34:37):
I think there will be.
Speaker 10 (34:38):
Some ups and downs for the Hoosiers this year. And again,
the same thing that I said about Butler, I will
say about Darren Debris and IU. It is a it
is a one question seasons for Indiana. Did you make
the NCAA Tournament? And I think this is the team
that is capable of doing exactly that.
Speaker 2 (34:54):
All right, I you football Rose Bowl Thursday, We get
the college football player off officially back end away coming
up tomorrow and night. But let's focus it on AYU
and Bama. Speaking of unprecedented territory, that's exactly what we're
dealing with right here with with IU football and doing
what they're doing in Pasadena against you know, one of
(35:15):
the blue blood so called blue bloods of college football
and the old school landscape certainly and still very good.
But I just see that game playing out because if
you look at the numbers, which we'll talk about a
little bit later on with Covers dot Com, you look
at the numbers, and Vegas odds are siding with Kurt
(35:35):
Signetti and the Hoosiers going into this game.
Speaker 10 (35:38):
I'm crazy to say Indiana is the better team, but
Indiana is the better team. Let's see how the layoffs
and can you flip it back on after you have
been lauded and sir deservingly so for claiming a Big
Ten championship for having the Heisman Trophy winner. I think
Churt Signetti has has said all the right things, and
(35:59):
clearly this group has followed his lead every step of
the way the last two years. But can you flip
that switch back on twenty six days removed from the
last time you laced them up in anger? And to me,
that is the question mark, not about what Alabama poses
differently than anything they have seen from Oregon or Ohio State.
I don't think this Bama team is anything different from
(36:21):
those two teams. Indiana has already beaten on a neutral
site and twenty five hundred miles away from home. It's
just mentally, do you still have that same drive and
focus after everybody's been seeing in your praises for the
last four weeks.
Speaker 2 (36:34):
And the one thing that I'm concerned about above all
else is the flat footed start after having so much
time off.
Speaker 10 (36:44):
Correct correct rore Alabama played, you know, has ten days
off eleven days off, so they've got a little bit
of a gap since the last time they played, but
not the entire month, which is obviously the unique nature
of this college football playoff system.
Speaker 2 (36:58):
Greg greg Straw counting out the joinas on his birthday
on the Andy Moore Automotive Group plotline, Well, happy birthday.
I know that Amy has something incredibly planned for you,
so enjoy that, mister forty nine. Thank you sir.
Speaker 10 (37:11):
It involves working this season. I have a double header
up in Kokomo I am heading to now, but then
three days off starting tomorrow, which I'm very much looking
forward to.
Speaker 2 (37:20):
Well done, Greg, I appreciate it. Enjoy your birthday. See
thank you so, Greg, Gregstraw on the Anymore Automotive Group plotline,
So does that go out over the ear? That sound
too where it sounds like I'm talking to somebody in
the rallies drive through. Yep, that's going out. What the
hell is that's that is? From his phone on speaker?
Speaker 12 (37:37):
I think I think that's what's happening is it's picking
up you talking to him now.
Speaker 2 (37:42):
The constant clicking, I don't know what that is. We're
trying to diagnose problems systematically here as we move along,
and I'm seeing I'm broad enough to do that. Hell,
I can only do like barely do one thing at once.
It's like multitask. You know, I mentioned Michigan and their start.
How about Fred Hoiberg and Nebraska and their start. Michigan
(38:05):
State is always boiler Makers right there. Mc cronin and
UCLA going to be a very interesting big ten, especially
at the top. And we'll see if Nebraska is able
to back up what Nebraska has accomplished so far, winning
their first twelve out of the gate quick break. We'll
(38:26):
come back. We'll get a covers viewpoint to the college
football playoff, including BAM and I you coming up a
little bit later on my chapel normally is on a
Thursday today, However, because we're not on Thursday, he joins
us at the five o'clock hour on a Tuesday. Ralston's
Draft House bud Light Blue Friday on Friday. So once
we do return, we're on the road. Hopefully you join
(38:49):
us off of mass av at Ralston's JMV Takeover starts
tomorrow night on B one OZ five point seven. Where
else do you need to go, and we're also trying
to fix things on the fly stream, the app, AHD Radio,
the Triple A Membership Lounge via YouTube live three one
seven two three nine ten seventy for the text line,
get your messages into me. I will read them, or
(39:11):
if you want to phone at two three nine ten seventy,
this is ninety three five and one oh seven five The.
Speaker 4 (39:15):
Fan, the ride with jmvun You got a panty on
your head?
Speaker 7 (39:23):
You got fast.
Speaker 4 (39:28):
Ninety three five and one oh seven five the Fan.
Speaker 5 (39:34):
Yeah, we just want to know the rules so we
can abide by them, like we don't.
Speaker 1 (39:38):
We don't know what's going on.
Speaker 5 (39:40):
So that that's what I would say, Like we need
some leadership, We need someone to step up and like
here's how it's ran, here's name, image and likeness, here's
the transfer situation, like whatever, Like we can go on
to all these different examples and give us the rules,
we'll abide by them, you know, because that's who the
rules are for. The rules aren't for the people who cheat.
The rules are for the people that abide by them.
(40:00):
And so like that's where this is all goes down,
and there's no communication, Like we just want to know,
like tell us what to tell us what to do,
tell us how to go about it, and then like
you know, we'll go from there.
Speaker 1 (40:13):
And it's just there's just a lot of gray area
right now.
Speaker 2 (40:15):
Matt Painter from last night after the game that went
over Kent State to ask in the press conference about
the current college basketball landscape, wanting to know the rules
where I mean, it is just the uh, the wild
West right now, and it's going to proceed forward. I'm
(40:37):
assuming until ah, until what who's going to get involved
with the next But right now, if you're Scott Drew
and it's funny, you kind of thought that this was
(40:57):
going to open the door when it first happened to
free agency, and you know that's that's the way that
it is. I somebody asked me yesterday if there's going
to be a solution anytime soon. I don't know if
there's going to be a solution anytime soon. Is it
running anybody away? I will say this, it is so
tough to run me away. And I get what you're saying.
(41:19):
If it has or maybe if your interest has declined
in college basketball in this case in particular, because of
all that is going on and you know, bringing back guys,
you know, for pay for play that had been drafted
in the NBA that has eligibility. Left. For me, it's
(41:41):
a little bit more difficult because I'm always going to
watch basketball. But I do get what you're saying. I
don't know how many people are exactly like me out there.
I predue a one oh one sixty winner over ken State,
but some good stuff per usual from Matt Painter, and
hopefully we'll get mat on probably at some point of
the next week or the week after next uh. Once again,
(42:05):
but when asked, he's always going to answer. And there
you go. Looking for some form of leadership in college basketball,
Matt Pater, I've got leadership for your snack ability coming
up tomorrow night, and that's the spreadability of Win Schulers
for New Year's Eve. You guys are ready for it
New Year's Eve with Win Shuler's original sharp shedd bacon
and shadow jalapeno pepper. Make sure if you're hosting a
(42:27):
New Year's Eve party that is on the table Win
Schulers get it at your favorite Meyer location throughout the
state of Indiana. This is an interesting question on the
text line three one seven two three nine ten seventy JMB.
If you were named general manager of the Colts next Monday,
what is the first move that you make? Matt in
ann Arbor, Michigan. Thank you, Matt in an Arbor for
(42:50):
listening and for giving me this particular question. You have
to to me if Daniel Jones is going to be
the path and I'm ex that's the case, if you're
gonna wait on him because the problem you're gonna have
you cannot make these huge deals because of the lack
(43:13):
of assets that you have. But the one thing you're
gonna have to do, you're gonna have to find a
way and considering he wants to and doesn't jump at,
you know, one of these big offers as a free agent,
I think you got to find a way to bring
back Alec Pierce, because I think Alec Pierce, Heleck Pierce,
(43:37):
helps make Daniel Jones. They don't have any other deep
threats and you're gonna have to make tough decisions on
guys like Michael Pittman Junior, and maybe even tough decisions
like DeForest Buckner. I don't know about the tough decision
on Zayre Franklin. You know, Kenny Moore, I could probably
(43:57):
take Buckner out of it. I more put Buckner in
there because of the next situation. And you know, things
are still cloudy regarding mooney Ward moving forward. You know,
you know, or at least you've heard, he wants to play.
You know, Kenny Moore, there's probably going to be in
this category. You're going to have to make some incredibly
(44:17):
tough decisions to make sure you secure or at least
are in the running. Try to position yourself to secure
Alec Pierce, knowing that you're hoping that you can create
a similar thing with the healthy Daniel Jones coming back
next year. I know that is as cloudy as the
(44:39):
outlook of this team, but that is the first thing
that I would do, first thing that I would do,
and I know the first thing that I would do
is not to get rid of the head coach, But
the first thing I would do is try to figure
out how you can make sure that you're in the
running or can secure a willing to come back Alec Pierce,
(45:05):
especially if Daniel Jones is the target to be once
again you're starting quarterback. Get back to that. Thank you
very much, Matt and our arbor Michigan for that question.
Come back hour number two. We've got Covers dot com
input in the college football game, especially with the college
football playoff which is officially underway tomorrow night. We'll get
(45:26):
into that and more coming up at the bottom of
the hour, and Mike Chappell of CBS four and Fox
fifty nine, I'll ask him a similar question as did
Matt from an arbor me a moment ago. Coming up
at the five o'clock hour. The stream of the app
at Safety Radio the Triple A Membership Lounge via YouTube live.
Stay right there or join the show. We'd love to
have you. It's ninety three to five and one oh
(45:47):
seven five the Fan, the ride with JMVA, the queen here,
the cream of the crop, and there is no one
that those an't.
Speaker 4 (46:01):
Better Nutty three five and one oh seven five the fan.
Speaker 1 (46:06):
Right, yeah, well, obviously you're right.
Speaker 13 (46:08):
The focus is on the playoff game and uh, you know,
everything we've done in the past has gotten us to
this point and the most important thing is we have
a great day to day and uh and have great
preparation between now kickoff, put it on the field against
a great opponent. So you know, there have been a
lot of highlights that have been well documented in our season,
(46:31):
particularly going on the road and getting some big victories
and uh, you know, great team wins and the quarterback
playing really well, uh in the final four minutes of
the game, and winning a big trophy and a lot
of guys awards, undefeateed Big ten Championship, those kind of things.
Speaker 1 (46:50):
So great win to finish the year.
Speaker 13 (46:54):
And then you get about two and a half weeks,
right and everybody's.
Speaker 1 (46:58):
Wearing a lot of different hats.
Speaker 13 (46:59):
You're looking at your twenty sixteen coaches player retention by
waiting portal looking at you, you know, and then you're
getting a lot of weight room work in with your team,
rest recovering, but getting some practice in. But once we
knew who the opponent was, the next day for the
coaches was a Sunday.
Speaker 1 (47:17):
The next day for the players was a Monday.
Speaker 13 (47:19):
I had to reset, recalibrate kind of the team mindset
because they've been getting a lot of smoke blown up or.
Speaker 1 (47:25):
You know what for two and a half.
Speaker 2 (47:26):
Weeks right not from us.
Speaker 13 (47:29):
And I think they did a I think we've done
a pretty good job. I wasn't real pleased with yesterday,
which you know normally is a travel day Friday walk through,
but it.
Speaker 1 (47:38):
Was a Wednesday practice.
Speaker 13 (47:42):
But you know, we'll come out here, we'll get good
work and let's go.
Speaker 2 (47:46):
Play Kretzig Daddy on the Big Tit Network. A little
bit earlier today, right is when that was the meeting
with the media pre Rose Bowl and Pasadena and welcome
back to the show. Chris Hagan joined us from some
California a little bit earlier from Fox fifty nine to
the podcast one O seven five Thefan dot Com. Greg
Rakestraw celebrating his forty ninth birthday was also here. Andrew
(48:09):
Kayley covers dot Com about the college football playoff games
and the odds and some of the reasons why you
should go one direction to the other with that, Andrew
Bottom of the hour Mike Chapel normally is on a Thursday,
but today, because we're not in on Thursday, gonna join
us in the five o'clock hour and we're gonna get
even more deep into this whole cults thing that's going
(48:33):
on right now in the decision to move forward or
to pull the plug, or to make changes or simply
but to do something, because there's something and especially the
something in the past nine years it's not working, and
(48:54):
it's likely not going to work in year ten. You
could even argue in year four, but I can at
least listen to the three year head coaching argument going
into year four. And as I mentioned, you've tried everything,
and that's fantastic, but not even when you're in a
(49:16):
good position, has it worked out. And I can't sit
here and tell you that you're just born under a
bad sign, or you need an exorcism, or it's just
bad luck. Decision making and execution has led this organization
to where it is right now. You tell me something
(49:43):
doesn't need to be done about that, it has to.
I brought this up a little bit earlier too. I
was asked by Matt and Ann Arbor what I would
do if I were the general manager, and I I
am prioritizing Alec Pierce, even if it does seem that
(50:05):
he may get better offers, more interesting offers, maybe even
more interesting situations out there someplace else. But I find,
by whatever means necessary to make sure that he is back.
And here's why. So this was sent via the textlote
of three one, seven, two, three, nine, ten seventy. Doug
(50:27):
is in Evansville, Indiana writes this JMV. Does Daniel Jones
have the arm strength to maximize the deep ball ability
of Pierce? Seems like he was short on some froze
with Peers when Pierce had his men beaten. Love this
show again, Doug in Evansville, Doug, I will tell you this.
I think that Alec Pearce creates the deep ball for
(50:49):
Daniel Jones. I think without Alec Pierce there is no
deep ball for Daniel Jones because Alec Pearce not only
is a field stretcher. And don't get me wrong, I'm
not trying to say Alec Pearce is the second coming
of Jerry Rice, but if Jones is the quarterback, your
(51:13):
deep threat is Pierce because beyond just being talented at
that position, there aren't many better at going up and
getting a fifty to fifty, and oftentimes with Jones you're
going to get a fifty to fifty that's thrown, especially
if it's the deep ball variety. Well, now, Alec Pierce,
(51:36):
you don't have that threat. This team doesn't have that threat.
And if that's what you're going to come back with,
Daniel Jones. That is going to be problematic. That is
a must. And we were talking to Stephen Holder yesterday
and if you mentioned I think it's rolling in a
promo right now too. If you heard him mention regarding
Alec Pearce as he was talking to us yesterday, he
(51:56):
didn't have confidence Pierce coming back. That's what I'm prioritizing.
They don't get me wrong. You still have issues off
the edge, you have issues at linebacker, you have health issues,
You're gonna have age issues. But the one thing you
(52:19):
have to be able to, more so than anything else control,
is to what is going to help and especially help
your injured achilles compromise quarterback in his return, and this
offense's ability to throw it down the field hinges upon
(52:39):
Alec Pierce. And again, Daniel Jones may not have the
strongest arm in the NFL, but he is down the
field capable because Alec Pierce gives him that capability. That's
who I prioritize in this and that's why I said
it the way that I did. And there's nothing against
(53:02):
Daniel Jones. I mean, hell, Matthew Stafford, we'll find it
tough to get it down the field at a clip
in which he once did. But at the same time,
you have to have guys that are able to stretch it,
and Pierce is the one guy this team has, and
(53:25):
you got to prioritize that when you think about it.
When I mentioned how much I like Houston, which inevidently
means they're going to lose, and lose really early in
the postseason. But the reason why I like Houston so
much is because what they have at positions of absolute need,
positions of necessity make him off the edge or come
(53:49):
off the edge of both sides. They have a quarterback,
they have a difference making wide receiver. They have those
pieces in and tight games that can get the job done.
They have pieces coming off the edge in tight games
that can be the difference. And again, maybe it's too
(54:13):
much love giving this Texans team thinking that they're going
to march through the AFC, But I like this team
because of what they bring to the NFL essential positions.
And then when you look at that in reflection with
the Colts, what do they have and the one thing
(54:34):
that you can't take away is the essential position and
especially that threat that Ali Pierce demands from other teams
that respect that he demands from other teams. You know,
I'm not putting him in the Hall of Fame, but
he is essential personnel for this team. There are a
lot of other guys that are veteran guys that I
(54:56):
think you can look into to try to do something
else with. It may have to go someplace else because
of it, and those are going to be tough decisions.
They're going to have to be made. And this is
why this is going to take some quality decision making,
some high level decision making, because you've kind of made
(55:16):
your bet on this, so now it's up to you
to make some room. You got to make some room.
All starts with the decision making of Carly ORSA Gordon
essentially coming up. I guess we'd expect that on Monday.
(55:37):
Jamfy totally agree that Pierce helps Jones immensely providing the
deep threat. I was wondering if Pierce would rather go
play with a stronger arm quarterback. That is something that
I brought up a little bit earlier, and I wonder
about this situation if now I no, he likes it here,
but if there was another team that had the essentials
(55:59):
that I just talked about that we're maybe a dude
in the wide receiving corps like Pierce away from doing
something special. But when you look at this team, this
team looks miles away from anything that's worth thinking about.
That's where I would start, JAMV. If the Colts fans
(56:21):
really want to run it back with Daniel Jones and
Shane Steike and you guys are a glutton for punishment,
Matty Matt, I will tell you this, A healthy Jones
with Shane Steike and look pretty good. Now for me,
you know where I stand. I was ready to go
ahead and be done with it all, and I still am.
But I just don't know how you're going to be
(56:42):
able to manipulate the quarterback position if you don't bring
him back, and it seems like that they want to
do that. Decision making wise, you have to find a
different decision maker. I like Stiching enough for what he
(57:02):
showed with Daniel Jones where I could certainly accept that,
and I'm not held to well, you got to have
the general manager and have to have the head coach,
you know, on the same timeline. At this point, I
don't give a fat crap what timeline or any of
this nerdery. You're talking about Holy I just want to
(57:25):
see a team that is competitive and can put together
a competitive product for the entirety of the season. I
want to see a team that doesn't wilt regardless of
the circumstances, healthy or not in December. A team that's
not a nightmare around Christmas time, a team that you
(57:45):
just sit around and you wait for. And I'm not
suggesting that that's what you're going to get just by
making a change, But what I am telling you that
all the decisions in the past leading after this right now,
you've tried everything and the result has been the same.
So what would you do? So I am willing with Stike.
(58:09):
Do I think Steichen is like the second Coming? No?
Do I think he and Jones had something good going? Yes,
If Daniel Jones is that guy again, if he's comfortable here,
and I guess he's going to be unlike a lot
of other dudes out there and be back quicker from
an Achilles' injury than anybody of all time. I don't
(58:31):
know if it's that, but let's just say, for example,
that's going to be your guy that I'm okay with
the coach still being the guy, but otherwise then you
can just go ahead and start new. And if you
do start new, then Alec Pearce is probably going to
(58:53):
start new someplace else too. That is just the thing.
You look at it this way, and all the accolades,
and rightly so are going to Liam Cohen. You saw
the team in Jacksonville come in here on Sunday and
beat the Colts, having an outstanding season like you had
six seasons with the Giants where Daniel Jones, arguably with
(59:19):
the exception of maybe one season, couldn't find his ass
with both hands, you know, whether it was Brian Dabole
or you know, just you know, the overall I hate
to use this term too, but I will right here,
a culture of that organization and that team whatever. But
you know, much like you saw Cohen unlock something with
Trevor Lawrence, you did see Steiken unlock something with Jones.
(59:44):
And I think, in turn, I think Jones unlocked something
with Stiken because Sniken was competition or not, he was
dealing with this team and this offense early on. I
think we'd all would love to have a heavy dose
of that. And then you have to ask yourself, you know,
what else is they're going to be available to do.
Speaker 9 (01:00:06):
Now.
Speaker 2 (01:00:06):
If you're asking me if you want to go ahead
and do it all over and have a redo as
much as you can, that's fine. The problem is you're
kind of soaking in your creation right now. So if
Daniel Jones is going to be your guy, you want
to make sure that his best weapon, you know, non
(01:00:27):
Jonathan Taylor division is still there, at least to me,
and you've got to find some ways to do it.
You're going to have to cred some numbers and then
do some things to make sure you can retain Alec Pearce,
which I would think would be essential Jambi. The perfect
(01:00:51):
scenario is Ballard's gone, Shane gets moved, oh see, and
we get a general manager and head coach. But that
will never happen. Yeah, that will never happen. I think
there's going to be a new decision maker regardless, But
again I could be wrong. I just can't get past
the fact and wonder again, when you sunk so much
(01:01:15):
of what you had assets wise into Sauce Gardener that
you just didn't say right then and right there, hey,
this is the product that's coming back next year, come
hell or high water. So I'm okay, with wiping it clean.
(01:01:39):
I'm okay with splitting it down the middle. But I
think as we have been for a while, we all
should be pretty tired of the decisions. You know, even
if you can blame the decisions, excuse the decisions, you
cannot excuse the resume. All that stuff prior still counts,
(01:02:02):
still counts, Jamba. About twenty minutes ago, rain drops were
falling on my head. It looks like the rain maybe
stopping in Pasadena right around kickoff on Thursday. Hey, that
is our meteorologist on side in southern California. Good friend
(01:02:22):
of the show, Jim McCann. Happy holidays to you. Jim
McCann suggesting that maybe the rain pushes out of the
Pasadena area, maybe passes that's the San Gabriel Mountains that
are outside. I'm looking at James as if he would
know outside the Pasadena area coming up on Thursday. It's funny,
(01:02:46):
and Chris Hagen was right when we were talking about
that a little bit earlier. You hear one side of
things suggesting that you know, if it does rain, that
is going to be beneficial to eye you because of
the running game and because Mama frankly doesn't have a
great game, and then the other side you're thinking, well,
you know what, Bama's been here and done that, and
you know, if you're not used to those situations, maybe
(01:03:07):
that's going to compromise how you I just would tell
you this right now, and I know it still feels
a little bit odd to say it, but I would
just tell you this right now that this IU football
team to me just looks to be the better team.
(01:03:27):
Simply put, just looks to be the better team. But
our forecast meteorologist Jim mccannon Southern California gives you that
particular update, uh JMV. Too much weight is put on
the eight and two start. A couple of those wins
were luck. They could have been five and three very easily. Well,
(01:03:48):
I mean you could, really, Josh, you could interchange if
you wanted to Denver in LA and those are both
quality teams, They're not as close as I think. I
see Rivers playing first three game next year, and the
gap of Jones isn't ready. I can't imagine Rivers comes
back whatsoever. I don't have a gap solution if Jones
(01:04:11):
is not able to play, and I don't see Jones,
he would have to be phenomenal in recovery time. Would
he not? That certainly would be my guess. Now I
don't see Rivers as any longer the option. And you know,
(01:04:31):
whether or not you hate the story, love the story, whatever,
you have to find another option to start the season
if Daniel Jones is not ready. But I think it's
clear that Daniel Jones is going to be. That's who
they expect to be the guy to start the season.
And if Daniel Jones is here, it's also essential to
have Alec Pierce around. And if Daniel Jones is going
(01:04:56):
to be here, would make sense if you had Stiking around.
But believe me, you cannot go There's zero way you
can go into this offseason and not make some significant changes.
And we talked about executive wise, but also player personnel wise.
(01:05:18):
Some change is going to have to be You just
have to.
Speaker 6 (01:05:22):
Now.
Speaker 2 (01:05:22):
Even if you said back during the NFL trade deadline
when you made that deal for Gardner, if you said, hey,
this is going to be it and we're moving forward, Hey,
the whole landscape have changed and you still are who
you are, not like this is just in a bubble
of the final half of the season and the injuries.
That's the reason why you lost. This is an all
(01:05:44):
encompassing thing right here. These decisions aren't just made from
what has taken place from November until now. Quickly we
shall return or excusing that away from November until now.
Two three, nine, ten seventy is the number. Andrew Kayley

ninety three five and one oh seven five the Fan,
Oh good.
Speaker 2 (01:07:16):
Earth Winding Fire leading right here. James got a little
earth Winding Fire for in the JMV Takeover Season six
debutt Coming up tomorrow night is six on B one
O five to seven, and you will love this. I've
(01:07:37):
got about twenty five percent of an idea what the
hell I'm doing on this new software, So that's gonna
be great. And what's sad about it as I've been
in here endlessly in the past week trying to understand
it and I don't get it. So that's gonna be
fun Tomorrow night six until we'll go up until obviously
(01:07:59):
mid night twenty five to twenty six. But skids is
going to have a mini mix. It's going to get
you into the new year of twenty twenty six, so
we'll go well past midnight. Coming up tomorrow night, Jamie

my man Romi coming with the high Noon and that
begins coming up tomorrow night six o'clock on B one
oh five point seven. Also beginning coming up tomorrow seven thirty,
(01:08:47):
the Goodyear Cotton Bowl with the ten seed Miami the
two seed Ohio State seven point thirty. That is underway
that will get your college football playoff double dip in
days going on from New Year's Eve to New Year's
Day and that trifecta and joining us to discuss the
odds on those games and maybe even look forward to that.
(01:09:10):
Andrew Kayley covers dot com as on the Anymore Automotive
Group potline. Happy New Year to you, Andrew, How are you?
Speaker 11 (01:09:17):
I'm doing well, Happy to hear to you as well.
Speaker 6 (01:09:19):
Happy to be here.
Speaker 2 (01:09:20):
Miami Ohio State. Let's start right there because that game's
going to go off first, coming up tomorrow night at
seven point thirty. Your thoughts on Miami being able to
keep pace? Can they do that with Ohio State, especially
considering the type of offense the Canes possess.
Speaker 9 (01:09:42):
It all.
Speaker 11 (01:09:42):
For me, it all comes down to whether or not
Carson Beck to be the Carson Beck who he was
in that game against Murdame all the way back at
the start of the season, or is he going to
be a guy who threw four turnovers at four interception
against Louisville in a game that almost cost Miami other
(01:10:04):
season a few months ago. They have the defense that
can compete with Ohio State, and Ohio State has only
played a strong defense I would say twice this season
Indiana in the Big Ten championship game in Texas and
their season opener as well. Those are the only two
elite defenses I would say they faced all seasons.
Speaker 6 (01:10:24):
Both of those games.
Speaker 11 (01:10:26):
Were closed, obviously, a thirteen ten off in the in
the title game and beating Texas fourteen to seven. Now,
the Ohigo State offense has come a long way since
that Texas game, obviously, but Miami qualifies as an elite defense.
Play right top ten and both defensive success rate and
(01:10:47):
EPA for play that's expected points added to play is
just some advanced debts that I like to do my
handicapping with. And to me, this tells me that the
spread of nine and a half is just too much.
I like nine and a half points with Miami here
as long as big if, obviously big if is Carson
beck Limit's in the state. I think this will be
(01:11:07):
a close game. I think Ohio State probably taste.
Speaker 6 (01:11:11):
It in the long run.
Speaker 11 (01:11:12):
I think their big game experience will will be the
edge here and I think they all live it. As
in coaching with Ryan Davis, not something I would have
expected myself to say of even a few maybe even
before winning the national championship last year. But when it
lined up against Mario Percival, he's the guy that gives
me pause when it comes to thinking, like, hey, Miami
answers win this team out right, I am like ninety
(01:11:35):
percent certain that christ of All is going to do
something to to screw up Miami chances late in this
ball game.
Speaker 2 (01:11:41):
So Andrew Kaylea covers dot Com kind of enough to
join us to talk about the odds on the college
football playoffs back in the way coming up again tomorrow
night in the Cotton Bowl with Ohio State and Miami.
Did Ohio State show you again? Ohio State's been in
a position like this before, and we've seen you know
the high level outcome here, but did they show you
(01:12:03):
anything good and or maybe negative considering the last time
we witnessed them out and that was here in Indianapolis
losing in that Big Ten title game.
Speaker 11 (01:12:15):
Yeah for being a national title, the defending national champion.
I feel like they still have something to prove. Julian
Sayan hasn't shown me enough as a elite college quarterback yet.
And as I mentioned, he's gone up against too strong
defense this season and he has not looked great. And
(01:12:37):
he can call the same problems. They have an excellent
defensive front led by Ruben Vain Junior. If they can
pressure him then consistently, then Miami's going to have a
shot to keep this game close. I am I am
worried about the quarterback play from my house. And obviously
they have great, great guys at the skill positions, and
(01:12:58):
that defense has maybe two of the top five guys
that are going to go in the NFL Draft in April.
Speaker 6 (01:13:05):
Very talented team.
Speaker 11 (01:13:06):
But it's the quarterback play that I'm still a questions.
Speaker 2 (01:13:10):
Kind of interesting too. I wouldn't call them outliars, I
guess kind of unknowns. If you're looking at the matchup
in the college football playoffs, where you know you're probably
gonna have to do a little bit more hardcore research.
I would assume that's the four or five game coming
up in the Orange Bowl on New Year's Day at
noon with Oregon and Texas Tech, with I think the
(01:13:30):
last time I checked the Ducks for two and a
half point favorites. What do you start with that matchup
the first of three consecutive New Year's Day that's probably.
Speaker 11 (01:13:40):
My favorite one of the day, to be honest. For
the people who haven't been main attention to Texas Tech
all season, you're going to be in for a real treat.
They're really really fun football team. There'll be a lot
of talk about how they bought the defense through the
transfer portal, but it works. It's a really really lead defense, again,
built by a strong defensive front seven. Buying defensive doesn't
(01:14:05):
always work, So go after Florida State from the last
couple of seasons. What Jonah Buyer has done there in
text second obviously works this season. That said, this Oregon
team is really different and I think they're one of
my favorites to win the national championship right now, especially
when it comes to the odds at seven to one,
they're the fourth favorite right now, but at that price,
(01:14:28):
I really like back in them because this is not
the typical Oregon team that we have become accustomed to
in the Damn Learning era. We think of Boone Nick
and Joan Gabriel rating it out in those offenses. This
is a physic goal Oregon for a rushing team, arguably
the best rushing offense in the country. They leave it
(01:14:50):
in the nation and Epa to rush. They've got three
running backs that they can rely on. I love this kid,
Jordan Davison this question. He is an absolute t for
them right now. Winding hims obviously great as well, but
they dis attack you so differently and if they get
those wide receivers healthy that they've been missing for a
(01:15:11):
long portion of this season, and Oregon is going to
be a really, really tough team to beat with their
their balanced and Dante Moore has shown a lot of
toysons this season, and I'll be imprestancy. I'll be interested
to see how he does in this matchup against a
very strong Technic Tech season.
Speaker 2 (01:15:28):
He is from covers dot Com Andrew Kayley sizing up
the college football playoff double dip one coming up tomorrow,
as I mentioned earlier in the Cotton Bowl, and then
three consecutive on New Year's Day, which leads us now
to the Rose Bowl, which everybody cares about around here.
The one seed Indiana of the nine seed Alabama. Last check.
(01:15:50):
I use seven point favorites, which if you were to
tell anybody this a handful of years ago, you would
think that person telling you that would be absolutely hammered drunk.
But it is true. You're the one seed and there
are seven point favorites in front of Alabama. So I
want to start here with the Crimson Tide. Are they
(01:16:11):
more like what we witnessed, because that was really a
Jecko and Hyde performance that they won in Norman, going
back to the first round, that nine to eight game.
Were they more like what we witnessed in disappointment in
the game initial start the first half, or more of
what we saw in their close to win that game
against the Sooners in the second.
Speaker 11 (01:16:32):
That's a really good question. I think they're I think
the answer my life somehere in the middle. To be fair, obviously,
they're not as like they played out of their minds
in the second half and they played terribly in the or.
I guess it was the first half of the first
half and the second half of the second half. But
I think it's just been a really inconsistent Alabama team
(01:16:54):
all season long, as that is why you get those
inconsistent stretches from them. The problem tax Simpson is a
very good quarterback, but they just have no balance they
get They're getting nothing from the running game. There's absolutely
nothing from the running game. Obviously, they have enough talent
at the wideout position and with by Since in that
(01:17:15):
stay and they can be scary to soften football games,
but good defenses like Indiana, like Georgia can give them
real problems. And I'm you're sitting here saying we're hamberd
drunk thinking that your seven point favorites over Alabama in
a pall shootball play them. Yeah, that does sound crazy.
(01:17:37):
I think it's crazy that they're not favored by more.
I think Sdiana should be favored by almost double digits here.
I have one as about nine and a half point favorites,
so I have I have gone in Indiana minus seven.
The only reason that the line isn't higher, I think
is because all that logo on that side of the
helmet because of what you're saying here, because because we
(01:17:59):
think it's crazy that they are favored by this much
against Alabama will but hey, you tell me the product
on the field, and they should be favored by more.
This is this is the best team in the country.
They've beaten Ohio States, they've beaten Oregon already this year,
like they have the best wins, and they have the
highly trophy winner all. They have elite weapons, they have
(01:18:21):
a defense that stiffs in the nation and success rate
like they do everything. This is a team that we
should be talking be talked even more about right now.
The only reason they're not. And they're the second favorites
to win the national championship right now, still behind ohioalities
Indiana plus three ten Indian Ohio state of about plus
two hundred. But that's only the case right now because
(01:18:43):
they're called Indiana and nothing more. And so I think
there's some value in Indiana being Indiana laying the seven points.
Speaker 8 (01:18:49):
In the row.
Speaker 2 (01:18:50):
Curious about this, And I know you're no weather man
nor a forecast, but the forecast is for what weather
maybe up until the start of game time coming up
on New Year's Day, four o'clock here in the east
out in Pasadena. Does that change your mind on anything?
Does that adjust some odds with you? If the weather
is wet during a lot of that game.
Speaker 11 (01:19:14):
I would maybe eat in Favorite Indiana more in that case,
like al Obama. Like I said that I have on
the path, they don't, and the rain typically hinders that
a little bit more than than the rushing game, and
they just they just getting nothing out of it right now.
So I would say that Favorite Indiana, who I think
is the more physical of the two teams right now,
(01:19:35):
put them in a rain game, and yeah, I like
Indiana in that sad.
Speaker 2 (01:19:39):
So Andrew Klea covers dot Com. You know one final
game I want to jump into before I'll let you
go here.
Speaker 5 (01:19:45):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (01:19:45):
The three six Sugar Bowl is coming up on New
Year's nine at eight o'clock with Georgia and Ole miss Size.
This one up with the Dogs six and a half
point favorites as of right now.
Speaker 11 (01:20:00):
A really interesting matchup. Obviously, if the rematch from earlier
in the season that required Georgia to have a seventeen
to nothing fourth quarter to come back and win that
game in Auxford forty three to thirty five. I believe
the final score was obviously no Lane Kiffin at this
time around, but I think this will be their first
(01:20:21):
real talk. Obviously without him, Mike Kulane wasn't was an
Ausclee Cults for them at eight. We saw in that
first draft back up there. But it's it'll be interesting
to see what Georgia get.
Speaker 6 (01:20:32):
It's kind of the same thing.
Speaker 11 (01:20:33):
Georgia had struggled this year against strong passing teams yuring
fifty fifty in the nation to successfully on drop back,
but they really clamped down on Alabama in that in
that SEC title game. That game did not look close.
Now where I would say Mississippi has the advantage here
is that they have a more balanced offense.
Speaker 14 (01:20:55):
Like Trinidad, Chambers.
Speaker 11 (01:20:56):
Has been a gaing Elverston he took over the job.
They seven of the nation is a success orate in
EPA and success rate on drowbacks. But then when he
mixed in also having Kawan Lacey to complement him, that's
what makes the Rebels a much more harder match up,
a much harder matchup than say Alabama is in this matchup.
(01:21:18):
I'll be really interested to see how how it comes
down at the end. I think Georgia pulls it out
in the end because of Kirby Smart, because of their
big game experience. But I think Mississippi will cover the spread.
I think this is gonna be one of the culture
games on New Year's State, So I'm thinking Mississippi to
cover the Cittys in the Hawk Points twelve, but I
(01:21:38):
think Georgia pulls it out in a Coltsland.
Speaker 2 (01:21:41):
Andrew Kayley at covers Underscore Kaylee. You can find him
on x and all of his viewpoints as well covers
dot Com. Andrew sizing up once again the college football Playoff,
which is officially underway with the Cotton Bowl in Miami
and Ohio State coming up tomorrow evening. Andrew's on the
Andy Moore Automotive Group potline. Andrew, I appreciate that, have
(01:22:04):
a great New year, enjoy all the games, and we'll
catch up to see where we are when these games
in the next matchups are Exton Stone, Thank you brother, thanks.
Speaker 6 (01:22:13):
So much for having me.
Speaker 11 (01:22:14):
Happy New Year, and you're lucky to.
Speaker 2 (01:22:15):
Tell you about Andrew Kayley. I make you fans feel
even better about that.
Speaker 6 (01:22:20):
Now.
Speaker 2 (01:22:21):
Seriously, I'm looking out because we have windows now I
can see I'll see a tremendous IU football fan arousal
happening live near north side of downtown Indianapolis. I can
see it from here to the living room lounge parking lot,
from here to the Landmark Center. Is it the Landmark
(01:22:43):
building right there? I want to say, in the country,
ninety seven to one Hank FM is in this building.
In fact, on this floor right now, it used to
be ninety seven to one WNS. And did they not?
Does anybody any radio historians out there, I believe need
this to be true. Didn't E and S used to
say in their promos that they were broadcasting live from
(01:23:06):
the Landmark Center? And were they in the Landmark Center?
And this goes I think all the way back to
when Mark Patrick, who I started with in this market
as the producer for Mark Patrick on Sports. When Mark
Patrick had a shift on WNS, they were either in
(01:23:27):
the Landmark Center or the Landmark Building or suggest that
they broadcasted from it. You know, h CHCH is also
in this building. That's hot one hundred point nine. They
used to say broadcasting higher top the Bank one Tower,
I think is what they used to say in downtown Indianapolis.
(01:23:49):
That was their positioning statement. I think once upon a
time's EPL said that they were from the Pyramids. Maybe
they were at the Pyramids. Good stuff. Our new location

we're on the same page with this, if you often

tied the game and send it into.

Rental acreage in Beach Rover. You're more than welcome to
make an off.
Speaker 2 (01:31:16):
Run should anybody in particular, And nobody's running. Everybody's buying
around here, but uh decision.
Speaker 6 (01:31:25):
It's for sale. It's for sale, so nail me.
Speaker 2 (01:31:27):
Up for sale? Signs in anybody's yard? Do you think
coming up on Monday following this regular season finale Sunday
in Houston?
Speaker 6 (01:31:35):
Boy, yeah, I don't know. I at the point the
point that I am in my career, I hope not.
I long for uneventful off seasons and I don't know.
I I have to think that Carly knows what she's
(01:31:57):
going to do, what she wants to do, which is
just same thing. I don't know what would have happened
over these last two or three games. It would change
her mind. She's their likes the people she has in place,
and I would include Daniel Jones in that list, or
she doesn't. Part of me, part of me believes thinks
(01:32:21):
that her rationale might be. You know, when when we
were eight and two we were pretty good. We were
pretty good, and we had something and you know, you
begin the Sauce Gardner thing and injuries. No, everybody has injuries.
But when you if I put a target on on
six players that I wouldn't want to lose in a season,
(01:32:45):
at some point they've lost every one of them. So
so injuries everybody has them. It's where you have them,
and to what extent you have them. They they've lost
to some degree. Bertie Ryman le tackle the last couple
of games with an elbow that he you know, may
or might not need surgery out in the off season.
(01:33:06):
And then the quarterbacks again one thing that we all
know we talked about a little bit. But if Anthony
Richison doesn't fracture that orbital bone, they're probably in the playoffs.
Not probably, they're in the playoffs because because then he
steps in when Jones goes down.
Speaker 2 (01:33:23):
So you think he wins games?
Speaker 6 (01:33:25):
Oh yeah, oh a couple certainly. I think they would
have would have been in a forget a end probably,
but they wouldn't have gone the Philip Rivers route. And
may maybe they they take Daniel out a game before
because he played two games with the broken leg. We
can call it a fracture of the broken leg. So
(01:33:47):
maybe they don't past him out there in that situation.
But you know, the fourth Buckner and your two quarters
Mooney Wards missed like ten games with concussions, so it's
just been it's where the injuries hit, and I don't
want to hear that. Boy, if you only had done
(01:34:07):
more at this position to reinforce it. No, when you
lose Kenny Moore, missus look three or four games early
in the year, So you just can't anticipate that to
that level. So I part of me think she believes
that when when injuries didn't decimate two or three positions,
(01:34:29):
they were pretty good. Yes, there's flaws, there's always flaws,
or or she may say, you know, we can't keep
going down this path, which again, if you bring everybody back,
you're going down this path one more year. And I
don't know how the fan base would react, probably not well,
but all I know is.
Speaker 2 (01:34:50):
The other option. Look at it.
Speaker 6 (01:34:52):
People better better brace themselves because a reboot, a complete reboot,
is gonna is going to re in several years of
trying to get back to where you are. This isn't
college where you've got nil and you can go out
and buy players. That's not what it is. So I
understand the argument to do that because nine years hasn't
(01:35:15):
gotten you what you want. But until Jones went down,
and I'll die on this hill, until Jones went down,
they were pretty good and they could have beaten just
about anybody in the league. They blew the doors off
the Chargers. They should have beaten the Rams. Then I
realized that they shouldn't have beaten Denver. I understand that
(01:35:36):
things even out. So all I'm saying is be careful
what you wish for well.
Speaker 2 (01:35:42):
And it's funny you look back at January and the
first time he came on after the season, I'm shaking
my fists, saying, go ahead and get rid of everybody.
And then the first two months of the season, and
you and I talked about this in the press box,
I kind of looked like a horse's ass because they
were winning. They were in one, eight and two. But
(01:36:02):
you know, then they end up having happened to them
what normally happens to them, and a night marish December
leads us to where we are right now. So I
guess my prevailing thought is this, with a question, is
it more about what you saw in two months than
it is, especially in terms of Chris nine years, I
(01:36:24):
know this or something lesser than I mean to me,
I don't know how you sell that to anybody.
Speaker 6 (01:36:33):
Well, and that's and that's why you know Carly's in
the big boy seat right now. That's she's got to
make these decisions. Jim did it for all those years
and most of the time did the right thing. Most
of the time. Sometimes he didn't. And we go through
twenty twenty two. But I do, I do believe and
(01:36:55):
know that she trusts these she trusts Chris Baller, she does,
she trusts change. Stiking with that question. Uh, but like
you said, it's been nine years, and at some point,
you know, to make a change for change sake. Fitting
me is never a good thing. But then you can
(01:37:16):
throw all the stuff at me and I can say, yeah,
you're right, I mean, you're right. They've they've not They've
not drafted an edge pass pressure that you think, Yeah,
it's the guy's gonna be twelve thirteen sex Maybe a
lot to will be that next year he better be.
Quitty Pay hasn't been. Quitty Pay is a good player,
not what not not what you want from a first rounder.
(01:37:37):
I like what they've done with the offense. This offense
is all, if I'm not mistaken, all draft picks except
the quarterback.
Speaker 9 (01:37:44):
Uh.
Speaker 6 (01:37:45):
So they've done a good job of there. You would
would you like to have a more explosive number one receiver?
Of course everybody wants that. But I like, I like
the offense that has been drafted. The defense needs work,
It just needs work. Line ackers, defensive line, and you
know what happens the Forest Buckner that doesn't come back
(01:38:05):
after his next surgery. So they've got work to do
on defense. So I don't know. And again, it's when
you bring somebody in. If you fire the GM, then
you say, okay, here you go, here's here, here's your
head coach, and this is probably your quarterback. By the way,
you've got no first round picks for two years. So
(01:38:28):
it's it's not it's not everybody says we'll just fire everybody. Well, okay,
that's fine. Then then you got to start replacing people.
So it's it's a touchy situation. And I mentioned this,
uh somewhere earlier. I hope whatever she does, I mean this,
I hope whatever she does one way or the other
that Carly comes out and explains her rationale either way,
(01:38:53):
I just think that the fan base has shown tremendous
tolerance and patience, and I just think this will this
will be her biggest move uh out of the passing
of Jim And I think it would be good for
her to come out and say, I'm not thinking at
(01:39:13):
the owner's meetings when she talks with a handful of
writers that make the trip, I'm saying, you know, the
week after the season, that come out and say this
is what I'm doing. You may not agree with me,
this is what I'm doing and and sort of sort
of trust me, uh, And that that's going to be
something of a leap of faith for the fan base.
(01:39:34):
But I hope she does that. I don't know if
she will or not. I'm really curious what she does.
I think she knows that there there can't be anything
that happens on Sunday that changes her mind. There can't be.
Speaker 2 (01:39:47):
Uh. Do you think do you think the mind was
made up going back to the NFL trade deadline? And
I always kind of present this when when you parted
with those assets and went all in like that. Do
you think that maybe it was talked about, these are
going to be my people for the foreseeable future, come
hell or high water, and then obviously high water and
hell both came to end the season. So do you
(01:40:08):
just kind of have to soak in that considering the
decision you made back in early November.
Speaker 6 (01:40:13):
I wouldn't disagree at all, uh, you know, because it
came up with whether I don't know who who reported
Albert brew or somebody where, you know, or how when
she talked or I guess Chris approached her, whatever, however
it went that she said, you want abandoned this or
you want long term solution, and you know, the long
term solution was Sauce Garter. And I do believe that
(01:40:36):
at that point she said, because again that wasn't a
win a winner else win this year or else move
You're you're getting Sauce Garter for the next three or
four years, five years. So it was when now, but
when later? And I think there is something to that now.
Of course Daniel Jones was healthy at the time, but
(01:40:57):
I think there was very much her in endorsing what
they had, and then from then injuries just just cripple them,
just cripple them, and nobody outside Indy cares. They don't,
you know, you know, everybody's got their own problems. But
it's a really good point that that they said this
(01:41:18):
is we were like the quarterback, we like theence. You
of course you like the offense, and now we need
to get this defense going. That's a really good point.
That's why I say, I just think that when push
comes to shove, it's going to be man if we
get these guys back healthy and Daniel Jones is back
to that achilles are tough, you know, a killing. Whether
(01:41:40):
he can be back in junior jior, I don't know.
The achilles is difficulty the days, I'd rather it be
a quarterback than ebucom or or you know, somebody like
that who's coming off who plays that Eric Fisher, remember
Eric Fisher Attackled never really got right, uh initially from that.
So I if I had to bet your salary, I
(01:42:03):
would say, she's going to give it another year with
the idea of listen, guys, twenty twenty six is kind
of like we're drawing the line in the sand, because
that's when if you look at the structure of the
team in twenty twenty six is when you really have
decisions to make Michael Pittman, Jonathan Taylor deforced Potner Quintin Nelson.
(01:42:26):
That's wh when you make decisions on core players. So
I hope we have an idea Monday Monday on what
they're doing. It does no one any good to hang
in the wind. And I don't think Carly is that
type of owner. I think she's very she's very bought
(01:42:49):
into the people she has, but I think she's going
to be very analytical on and how she moves forward.
Speaker 2 (01:42:54):
We talked before.
Speaker 6 (01:42:55):
I thought Jim made a lot of mate Nata not
a lot, made some decisions based on his heart, and
she still might to some degree. But she's gonna be
more more business like. I don't want to use the
word calculated now, that's what it is. She'll be more
(01:43:17):
objective and how she does things, and I hope she
shares with the with the room under your two see
what they're doing.
Speaker 2 (01:43:25):
To Mike Chapel of CBS four and five fifty nine
and the Andy Moore Automotive Group Potline two questions regarding
Daniel Jones to start with, why is the opinion prevailing
that he's gonna hustle ass back and be good to
go and not miss if any too much at the
start of the season, because that doesn't make sense to me.
(01:43:46):
With that injury helped me make sense.
Speaker 6 (01:43:48):
Well, it's that would be due to the matter. Is
not gonna be seven or eight months. What will that be?
H It'll be about seven months. That's probably an optimistic
time frame. If he's back for a training camp, would
be outstanding. OTAs, I mean, that's crazy.
Speaker 2 (01:44:07):
Is he like a six million dollar man here or what?
Speaker 8 (01:44:10):
Well?
Speaker 6 (01:44:10):
I tell you you think that that's probably you know,
probably again on the short side of rehab. But I
was watching the Steelers the other day and they had
a guy that blew out his I think it was
the Steelers. It was a safety and he blew out
his achilles in May, in May of twenty five, and
he's out there playing. So, you know, I think it's
(01:44:33):
possible they from the people out talked to, they really
expected to be junior toly and then certainly you're going
to ease him back in. You're not going to throw
him out there right away. But I think there's a
chance he's ready for the opener a chance. Uh So,
does that mean that you have Letard b. You know,
the fall back, You go out and get another veteran
(01:44:57):
guy that can hold the fort for a game or
two if you don't think Leonard is going to be capable.
I don't think many of us believe Anthony Richardson will
be back. I think they'll look to trade him in
the off season. I really do. I just don't doesn't
the fit that that everybody hope for just isn't there.
And I think it would do both.
Speaker 2 (01:45:17):
Primarily who'd like to see him go more the organization
or Anthony Richardson.
Speaker 6 (01:45:23):
Anthony Richardson probably Uh yeah. I used at shame to
tell us tomorrow that they're not going to activate Anthony.
I just don't get the impression at all that first
they think he's ready. I think there's a lot of
people out there that I don't think that I the limit,
the eye limitations, is ready to play, and you're not
(01:45:45):
going to put somebody back out there that you know
doesn't have maybe the personal vision against Houston? Are you
kidding me? I'd like to see that guy coming from
my front side and backside. I let to feel it,
so I don't think he plays uh so? But no, yes,
it's it's it's an energetic timeline that they you know,
(01:46:05):
it's not definite at all, but I do think they can.
They can go forward with the idea that he will
be their guy. Now, does he miss a game or two,
I don't know, but you go ahead.
Speaker 2 (01:46:18):
It's almost a three part two with Let's just say
that they expect that they want Daniel Jones back. So
that tells you automatically that Shane Steichen is going to
be back, right, because there's no way he's going any place.
If Daniel Jones is coming back, I would think so,
I would think so. Not you know, that's the hard part.
Speaker 6 (01:46:39):
If you fired the GM, when you bring in a
new GM, and you know you give him a head coach,
well that's not normally, that doesn't normally work. But again,
I think Shane for the most part has done a
darn good job with the quarterback situation. And again, all
I have to point to, and I wear this out,
all I have to point to is they came within
(01:46:59):
a couple of pass says fourth and one and something
else within the AC South with Gardner Minshew. They got
Gardner Minshew a fifteen million dollar guarantee from the Raiders
so if he can do that with Minshew, and we
saw what he was in with Jones. I mean, yes,
the first half of the season was against a lighter schedule,
(01:47:20):
I granted that, but they were averaging thirty three points
a game and four hundred yards and six and a
half yards again a play. They were on an historic
pace with Daniel Jones. So I, like I said, I
think he's done a good job. It would be it
would be awkward to bring in a GM and say
(01:47:43):
here's your guy. You know, maybe it doesn't work, and
then you fire, you get Ninja desided with a new coach.
It'd be like Chris Ballad and Chuck Pigano, which was
awkward at the time.
Speaker 2 (01:47:55):
So yeah, I and I think I think.
Speaker 6 (01:47:57):
Shane, in the right situation, which this was for a while,
it is a pretty good coach.
Speaker 2 (01:48:02):
It'd be like Chris Ballard and Jeff Saturday.
Speaker 6 (01:48:07):
I still say to this day, I would have paid
a week of my salary to sit in the interview
room when Chris did a formal interview for the head
coaching job with Jeff Saturday. I would I would have
paid for it. I would have, and I would have
I would have said anything I would have sad and listened. Yeah,
that that was.
Speaker 2 (01:48:24):
That was That was That was that year.
Speaker 6 (01:48:26):
That that was And uh so hopefully we don't go
through too many any any more of those. We don't
need those. The organization doesn't need those.
Speaker 2 (01:48:36):
They hold up at thirty point halftime advantage in Minnesota
or McLaurin doesn't get loose on Stefan Gilmour for a
touchdown there. One went away because if Jeff Saturday is
brought back, which he is, then Chris Ballard is absolutely gone.
So Colts fans would have got rid of Chris Ballard
had Jeff Saturday won one game, one more game in
(01:48:56):
this case.
Speaker 6 (01:48:57):
You know, people outside don't believe that.
Speaker 2 (01:49:00):
I believe that me too.
Speaker 6 (01:49:01):
I believe if they had found a way to win
another game, I didn't. Jimmy just wanted a reason, Give
me a reason. And of course the give it like
thirty points in the fourth quarter at Dallas. So yeah,
it was not a good and the biggest indictment, the
biggest indictment of twenty twenty two is when Nick Foles
(01:49:21):
got blown up by who was named Thibodeaux with the
Giants and he's doing snow Angels and nobody came.
Speaker 2 (01:49:29):
And held them up waiting for the ambulance to come
out onto the field for him.
Speaker 6 (01:49:35):
Yeah, but that told you all you need to know
about how that team had had checked out or whatever.
So we don't need I've been here a long time.
It seems a lot of things we don't need to
see that.
Speaker 2 (01:49:48):
Ever. Again, I did want to follow up one more
quick thing with Mike Chapel of CBS four and Fox
fifty nine. I think it's essential to make sure Alec
Pierce is back, and especially if Daniel Jones is going
to be your target at quarterback, you have to have
Alec Pierce. You look at the assets, they don't have
a lot of it, not a lot of cash. I mean,
you got to find ways and means to make sure
(01:50:10):
he is back. And you know, if you do give
him a deal and he does want to return, is
that going to cost the positions from some notable veterans
on this roster at some point?
Speaker 6 (01:50:23):
Well, yeah, you've got again. You got to keep your
good players and you know when you draft, well, there
comes time yet to pay your guys. I'm looking at
their free agents right now, Penning free agents of Daniel
Jones but Braden Smith and Nick Cross, Alec Pierce, Quitty
Pey Taekwon Lewis, Ebicom, Mohally Cox Ogletree. So I really
(01:50:47):
think you you put Alec Pierce number one on the list. Uh, well, Jones,
however you want to do it, Jones and then Alec.
You got to have Jones back. But Alec Pierce, the
question is going to be priced. He's done nothing but
increase his value, and it's gotta be done before free agency.
(01:51:10):
If he hits the market, he's gone. Somebody Buffalo, Kansas
City will will pay him so much more than what
the Colts would pay him because they'll overpay, which is
great for the player. And I hope Alex gets whatever
he can get. Great kid has adjusted that these quarterback changes,
(01:51:33):
he'll be the first player in Gosh, I've got the
numbers that are not right in front of me. It's
been a long time since somebody's led the league in
yards for a catch in consecutive years. I think it's
Flipper Anderson was a guy back in like nineteen ninety,
you know, a former cult for a note. But yeah,
(01:51:54):
what it's going to cost, I don't know, But I
do think that he's priority number two because you've got
to get Jones and in the Jones contract, that's going
to be a little more complicated now with he's coming
back from a from an achilles, so they've got work
to do. But yeah, I think Alex Alec Pierce is
(01:52:15):
a guy that you've just got. I think he I
think he wants to be here and Jones is back.
I think he wants to be here for that.
Speaker 2 (01:52:21):
Now.
Speaker 6 (01:52:22):
If they if they would blow it up and they say,
by the way, like we want you to be one
of our pieces going forward, I'd have doubts about that.
If I'm Alec Pierce to have a reboot when you
don't even know who your quarterback is going to be,
that that would be not not beneficial to his career.
But he needs to be part of this team because
he's again, he's everything you want. He does it the
(01:52:43):
right way. He's the kind of guy you build around.
Is he is he a receiver number one? No, but boy,
he's a piece that you've got to have and uh
and they value him. They do. So everything we've talked
about goes into and by the way, how do we
address guys that are going to be free agents, and
(01:53:06):
that's all part of and again Carly. Carly's smart lady.
She's got she's like her dad. She's got her pulse
on this team. She knows all this stuff, and she
knows how one domino in one direction changes things and
one domino in the other direction changes a lot of things.
So that that's what the great owners do. And I'm
(01:53:26):
not saying she's great, she's not been on the job
that long. But I as I sit here, I trust
what she will do. I may not agree with it,
but you have to trust what she's doing because she's
just She's had her pulse on this team for gosh
what twell, fifteen years and I mean really on it
(01:53:47):
for the last three or four or five years. So
if anyone can get this franchise back in the right direction,
I believe it's.
Speaker 2 (01:53:55):
Her, and that they would have listened to me last
January then none of this would have happened. That we'd
already be on a new path right now.
Speaker 6 (01:54:03):
It's what kind of season the head I wonder what
the kind of season?
Speaker 2 (01:54:06):
Oh yeah, it wouldn't have been a big tease like
this one was, so you wouldn't be dealing with this.
I mean it may have been disappointing. Is it better
to be teased? No, I think this makes it worse.
So this season has been a massive tease.
Speaker 6 (01:54:20):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:54:21):
So yeah, this hasn't been good at all.
Speaker 6 (01:54:23):
No matter the.
Speaker 2 (01:54:23):
Circuits four and twelves are better. I think it. Well.
I mean, you still have two first rounders and you
know you. I'm assuming you know where your course is
going to be now instead of looking depants as an organization.
But don't listen to me.
Speaker 6 (01:54:42):
Yeah, I don't have talked about that.
Speaker 2 (01:54:44):
I mean you got something. Ye, Well, we've been talking about.
The direction they're in is much better than the direction
they could have been in. Well, give it the circumstances.
Speaker 6 (01:54:52):
I hear you, I hear you.
Speaker 2 (01:54:54):
Hey, have a great New Year over in Beach Grove,
all right.
Speaker 6 (01:54:58):
I will you guys, be well and stay. There's a
bunch of idiots on the road on New Year's New
Year's Eve. Don't be one of them.
Speaker 2 (01:55:04):
Okay, you got that right? All right, Mike, we'll catch
you again next week. So to Mike Chapel of CBS
four and Fox fifty nine, all you got to do
is listen to me. You listen to me, and the
problems are solved. I've got my finger on the pulse too.
All right, quick break, we'll come back. Final thirty Mike
and Newpal's gonna lead on the other side, and more
(01:55:25):
of your calls besides mich if we're gonna go that direction.
Also the text line of three one seven, two, three nine,
ten seventy Well, get away week from me until Friday,
because we're gonna celebrate a new year. I'll be on B.
I'll tell you all about the schedule coming up tomorrow
and get back with you coming up next. Don't go anyway.
It's ninety three five one oh seven five the Fan,
(01:55:46):
the ride with JMV in.
Speaker 6 (01:55:48):
The beat, hooser here in the beat.
Speaker 4 (01:55:51):
Ooozer, ninety three five and one oh seven five the Fan.
Speaker 2 (01:55:56):
Let's do some calls right here James as he rolls
me back in with this classic from Saturday Night Fever
in the Begs on B one oh five point seven,
Get some work in guys, all requests Saturday Night, New
(01:56:16):
Year's Eve, Puddy Tomorrow night. DJ Skids is putting together
some incredible stuff. Hey, By the way, shout out to
Sean Matthews who does imaging. And for those of you
that don't know what imaging is. It's all the stuff
you're in between that makes your station sound and your
show sound great. The station voice. He's done a great
(01:56:36):
job with me over the years of doing that, and
he's got even more great imaging sounders, if you will
for me as we start on B one O five
point seven coming up tomorrow evening at six o'clock six
until we decided to be done in the new year
of twenty twenty six. Hey, we've been all over the
map today with good reason. Colt's recap looking into the future,
(01:56:59):
right Leonard the starter in Houston for that regular season
finale on Sunday ten am. Colt's pregame huddle with me
on ninety three to five in one oh seven five
the Fan, we talked to Chris Hagan of Fox fifty nine,
who's out in southern California. Are you Bama? Coming up
on Thursday at four o'clock on New Year's Day for
(01:57:22):
the right to advance to the Peach Bowl in Atlanta
to face either Texas Tech or Oregon. Omar Cooper Junior
good to go, working his way back from injury. Chris
Hagan's got Omar friend of the show on with him
a little bit later on this evening, Andrew Kayley covers
(01:57:45):
dot com with all the games, including tomorrow night as
things get officially underway in the Cotton Bowl with Miami
in Ohio State. Andrew Kayley of covers dot com with
all the odds, and he really loves the Hoosiers against
Bama wet or not because evidently it's raining out there
(01:58:07):
right now. Pacers were a loss last night. Pacers in
the afternoon at Fair three o'clock coming up tomorrow two
thirty Covers begins following Quarry and Company on ninety three
to five and one oh seven five the Fan, Greg
Ragshaw celebrating his forty ninth birthday today. How we talked
to Greg about that what Greg cutting described as a
(01:58:28):
must win for Butler on the road at Craitlin Cragon
later on tonight, that is Greg McDermott's crew versus the
Dogs tonight with Mark and Nick right here on the
fan and then Mike Chappell of CBS four and Fox
fifty nine, which has inspired this particular X message jamb
(01:58:49):
It sounds like chap has bought into the what ifs
they alle most and if not for the injuries, excuses
of continuous mediocrity. The Colt's front off and head coach
have proven they don't have what it takes to field
the championship team. It is time to move on, period.
I will say this for what Mike said, and I
(01:59:13):
want to make sure you guys understand the difference between opinion.
You knew my opinion last January, and you would be
better off right now if there was a charted path
had my advice been taken. I understand you got two
months of fun, loving, free wheeling winning, but you would
(01:59:34):
have been better off right now. But you understand what
I feel is necessary and basically what I just read
to you. As far as I think, Harkon is the
guy that sent that in his thoughts. But what Mike
was alluding to was when you green light that deal
(01:59:54):
at the trade deadline, you may have already decided then
and there that you're moving forward with this group because
you are still with players on the field substantially soaking
in or sleeping in the bed that you made. So
(02:00:15):
that's where their reporting comes in. That wasn't even necessarily
an opinion, it was just and that very well could
be the case. I mean I'm like everybody else, and
I have long since been ready to go ahead and
move forward down the road. I mean, I can get
to stiking in Jones together again. I'm going to have
(02:00:41):
to see it to believe it. This guy being the
six million dollar men and coming back, and everybody believes
he's going to be coming back and ready to go.
But you guys know and have known for a while
when I think about the situation, but the reported situation
could very well be the case, and you might have
(02:01:02):
to deal with this again coming up next year. By two, three, nine,
ten seventy, My man, Mike is in newpal Mike, thank
you for the whole my friend. How are you?
Speaker 7 (02:01:13):
Man?
Speaker 6 (02:01:13):
That's a tough fact to follow.
Speaker 14 (02:01:14):
Chapter Hey, I hope uh lady and Blake and everybody
back to the house are doing good. Wishing you a
happy New Year, and I give you a little bit
of inspiration. Nobody's gonna know if you mess up tomorrow night,
nobody's gonna know.
Speaker 6 (02:01:29):
Just just do you on New Year's on the one
alas seven.
Speaker 2 (02:01:32):
Well, and I appreciate that very much. Probably not gonna
know because I normally mess up anyways. I this is yeah,
this is gonna be like what what normally you get?
I I am, I'm a little anxious about the whole operation.
Like give you a great example, Mike, Like with the glass,
I'm watching James in there, and James looks like he
(02:01:55):
has more questions most of the time that answers and
that doesn't really get me too much inspiration.
Speaker 14 (02:02:02):
So so you got so you got James sitting in
the fishbowl, then huh.
Speaker 2 (02:02:05):
I can see James through the window and James sometimes
James that look like what what he does actually takes
place with the system, and that concerns me. It's just
and I'm you know me very well. I'm very routine
oriented and this is going to be incredibly outside of
(02:02:26):
my routine. So I just what I have to do
is I got to lay a path down tomorrow night
and go from there. Once. Once I get going, it'll
be fine. But it's just the the anxious nature that
I'm going to have of being out of and that's
just my life in general. I'm very routine oriented, So
getting out of that routine is is going to be
really weird. Beginning at six tomorrow night.
Speaker 6 (02:02:48):
You're going to be fine.
Speaker 14 (02:02:49):
We'll listen to you of course Donald's, Ohio, Saint Grad
Andrew went Ohose Saint Guy's Masters from there.
Speaker 6 (02:02:54):
So I'm going to be listening to a lot of
you out in the.
Speaker 1 (02:02:56):
Garage with the heat on.
Speaker 2 (02:02:58):
Well done, we'll crank that heat up and crank up
the show tomorrow night.
Speaker 14 (02:03:01):
I just want to say thank you for all your
honesty and your enlightenment as far as how you present
your show. In your honesty, you're number one in this market.
Speaker 2 (02:03:11):
So just that's very kind of you. I appreciate it.
Speaker 6 (02:03:15):
Hopefully you get together.
Speaker 14 (02:03:16):
Like I said, I left Arkansas, I'm back in Indy
right now. It was seventy eight degrees when I left here,
and you.
Speaker 6 (02:03:22):
Know what we're dealing with here.
Speaker 2 (02:03:23):
So yes, it's all good.
Speaker 14 (02:03:26):
You enjoy your new year, and we'll be listening to
you tomorrow night.
Speaker 2 (02:03:29):
Thank you very much, Mike and Newpal. I appreciate the
kind words. I mean, I listen. I just kind of
speaking of soaking, and I kind of soak in the
fact that I suck, and that's cool. But I'm just
like anybody else out there, so just like end no different.
That's why and this is what I've always felt about me.
(02:03:51):
That's why I get along so well with everybody. I mean,
you really have to be a huge jackass not to
get along with me or have me not like you.
But I get along so well with everybody because I'm
just like everybody. I mean, I just like to hang.
That's it, Mike. I appreciate that. Big Dave's gonna go next,
Big Dave, welcome to the show. How are you?
Speaker 4 (02:04:13):
Thank you, sir?
Speaker 6 (02:04:15):
On your show tomorrow.
Speaker 4 (02:04:16):
Just don't lose it.
Speaker 9 (02:04:17):
If somebody says that they meet Loaf and you'll be good.
Speaker 14 (02:04:20):
I know you can't stand that.
Speaker 4 (02:04:21):
But you know, if they say need love to.
Speaker 2 (02:04:23):
Say something, I'll just play some meat love tomorrow and.
Speaker 14 (02:04:27):
Oh you won't.
Speaker 9 (02:04:28):
I know you don't want them. That's okay. I got
a question. I've been kind of mean to Stiking, and
I thought, you know, historically he did good with Herbert,
he did good with Jalen Hurts, he was doing good
with Jones.
Speaker 14 (02:04:44):
The only people only person he.
Speaker 9 (02:04:45):
Didn't do good with is Richardson. And Richardson's been in
the black eye for Ballard and for Stiking. That's what
it's costing them all the pain they're having.
Speaker 2 (02:04:57):
Yea, and they do with ar well. I mean, we
just talked to Mike Chapel about that, and uh, this
is going to be both sides were going to look
for an excess strategy, meaning it's Mike. Mike believes there's
a trade on the horizon at some point and he's
played his last down in a a Colt uniform and
(02:05:19):
in the off season he's going to get traded because
he wants it as much as the Colts organization. And
that's what Mike just talked about. Evidently wanted to Big Dave.
Speaker 9 (02:05:29):
Yeah, he came in at twenty. He was a kid,
and I mean pro football is a man's game. It's
not a kid's game. He didn't take it seriously off
the bat. Maybe he'll grow up a little bit and
he'll be a man when he goes to his next team.
But right now, I mean, it's just not working and not.
Speaker 2 (02:05:45):
Working, and no doubt about that. But yeah, I look
for an offseason trade. Big day be listening to my
own night in a meeting free zone. Okay, thank you, Okay,
I would do anything for love, but I will not
do that. And that is played meat Loaf coming up
tomorrow night on the JMV Takeover, Bill Matt Fulton to
close other side. Don't go anywhere. This is ninety three
(02:06:08):
to five and one oh seven five The Fan.
Speaker 4 (02:06:13):
The Ride with JMV.
Speaker 2 (02:06:15):
Look up idiots in the dictionary. You know what, you'll
find a picture of me. No, the definition of the
word idiot, which you are.
Speaker 4 (02:06:22):
Ninety three five and one oh seven five.
Speaker 2 (02:06:24):
The Fans spreadability for you coming up tomorrow night. You're

Light Blue Friday, Ralston's Draft House, massaf coming up on Friday,
and Bill's up next. Hello Bill, Hey, jamv how you doing?
Speaker 3 (02:07:41):
And this Friday done at the at Ralston's. Man, we
need to kick the year off.
Speaker 2 (02:07:47):
Yes, let's do this two together really quick. Let's do
because we're also saying goodbye to Manly's Irish Mutt at
tenth and shadeland let's salute Mike Manley and the great
folks over there for what was an incredible, great place
and a great run.
Speaker 3 (02:08:06):
Rob certainly I appreciate that. And just like MacArthur, they
we'll come back. They will return, just like MacArthur and
the Philippine, and I.
Speaker 2 (02:08:17):
Hope so too, because I love that place. I love
Mike man was just one of the best dudes of
all time.
Speaker 3 (02:08:24):
Yeah, that's a going right after right after brought uh tomorrow.
Speaker 2 (02:08:29):
So Bill, Bill, Hey, I tell you what, Bill, you
just disappeared have a great new year? Was that us
or Bill that sounded like he may?
Speaker 11 (02:08:44):
Bill?
Speaker 2 (02:08:44):
You may have had gim if you want, if you
could get back in here before we bail, then please do, Buddy,
Sorry about that. Matt's up next? Hello, Matt? How are you?
Speaker 7 (02:08:53):
Hey?
Speaker 8 (02:08:53):
And and d how's it going, Matt?
Speaker 2 (02:08:54):
How are you?
Speaker 11 (02:08:55):
Go?
Speaker 2 (02:08:55):
Ahead? Buddy?
Speaker 10 (02:08:56):
Not too bad?
Speaker 9 (02:08:56):
Hey, real quick?
Speaker 6 (02:08:57):
Just up Schaff.
Speaker 8 (02:08:58):
Look, I respect Chaff so much.
Speaker 10 (02:09:00):
He's a legend in the India market.
Speaker 11 (02:09:01):
You know that.
Speaker 10 (02:09:01):
But you know he said something.
Speaker 8 (02:09:03):
There about being prepared for if we cut Ballad for
what might come, and you know to that, I would say,
prepared for what? Right, you're missing the playoffs?
Speaker 2 (02:09:09):
Right?
Speaker 8 (02:09:10):
Getting a middle first round pick? That isn't good enough
because you know that's what we've been dealing with for
the last ten years, right And the excuse that injuries
happen to derail season, that's that's true. But what I'll
say is that if that's going to be the litmus
test for keeping a GM, then we could use that
excuse and perpetuity, because what happens next season when three
of our players go down? Do we just say, hey,
(02:09:30):
let's get Ballid in their shot. And I'll leave you
with this, and I know you're on and up against time.
Ballard is seventy seventy seven and one in his senior
of GM. As GM of the Colts, he is the
fourth longest ten year GM in the National Football League,
excluding those like in Dallas or Jerry Jones's GM two
and so the question I'll leave you with an all
Colts fans is simple, which is what is he done
(02:09:52):
to earn that long leash that the Asays.
Speaker 10 (02:09:54):
Have given him?
Speaker 8 (02:09:55):
Because I can't think of anything. If the results are
what matter in this league, I'm struggling to out anything.
Speaker 2 (02:10:00):
And results of the ultimate yes, the results of.
Speaker 8 (02:10:04):
The never good hundred pop the banded, But why not
now agree with you on.
Speaker 2 (02:10:10):
That, Matt. I could not have said that better myself,
And in fact I said it just time last year
and before that. But but certainly this time last year,
count seat it better myself. Fulton is next. Hey, Fulton,
are you gonna be in your suit and tie ready
to go tomorrow night? I show him John good buddy.
I can't wait to have you back.
Speaker 6 (02:10:32):
Yeah, yeah, I'm excited.
Speaker 3 (02:10:34):
And I was talking to Nick today.
Speaker 2 (02:10:37):
I heard you told me you called Nick Jordan, the
afternoon host on B one O five point seven.
Speaker 11 (02:10:43):
Yep, I told him he's been having trouble playing some
songs lately, so.
Speaker 2 (02:10:47):
Oh, don't tell me that, Fulton, Fulton, you may have
to you may have to keep your calls down to
like three and a half minutes tomorrow, Okay, but yeah, yeah,
I might.
Speaker 10 (02:10:58):
Come to see it on Hey John.
Speaker 2 (02:11:00):
Okay, I can come. Well, I hope you can't see.
Speaker 3 (02:11:02):
If I'm not if I'm not so good you or anything.
Speaker 6 (02:11:05):
And it's just and it's just a holiday season.
Speaker 2 (02:11:08):
You better be rocking that disco suit. By the way,
Gina Glaros and Lindsay Monroe loved the disco outfit. That
was well done. Too great. I've got a new one
that's coming.
Speaker 6 (02:11:16):
It's a medium size, so I gotta get ready for
that one.
Speaker 2 (02:11:19):
You gotta be surprised, Bike, Come on, I Fulton will
talk to you tom all night too, buddy on the
JFV take over. Actually, James, Gina and Lindsey reached out
to me this morning and said, hey, Fulton showed us
the picture of his new suit.
Speaker 12 (02:11:36):
I finally got online and saw it myself.
