part for the course, because neither one over the course

off the radar screen is this defense. And you could
tell you bring in lou Anarumo and you're trying to
sculpt some things around him that you had seen not

so much in the latter years in Cincinnati where things
didn't go well, but early on when it was eventful
and it was productive and you saw the positive results.
You bring in one of the better corners, more thought
of higher level corners in the NFL. You bring in

a high level safety. So you're putting a lot of onus,
a lot of focus on that secondary. And that's one
of the things I want to talk to Nick Cross
about now. How much you know about your new defensive coordinator?
How much do you have to learn? This is a relearning?
Is probably not if I'm from Green Cow. It probably

rolls at re learning how to play defense? Again, according
to somebody else, is standard in playbook is what this
group is going to be going through right now. And
we're going to talk about some of those differences. You

focused in on the secondary with good reason, but you
can also talk about exactly what is going on, and
I think Nick Cross is a really good, really good

defensive coordination to change. In fact, you've wanted to change
for the past couple of years. It much less organizationally,
you've wanted to change over the past three years. But
with a new era, a new direction, defensively, you've wanted
that change. I don't know how happy you are with

the higher but lou Anroumo was a guy that early
on in Cincinnati got it done. Later when you started
to lose players, not so much. But I do with
a perspective from an actual player, I do want to
know what's a little bit different now compared to what
has been different. I thought, honestly that there is a

wide gap between the two. But that is just me.
We'll find out from somebody that should know that is
going through it right now with Nick coming up at

part of the constant documentation of the quarterback battle of
what's going on at camp? Let me tell you this.

Nathaniel who was in for James Todan Eddi Garrison from
Query and Company. We're kind of joking around. This is
like a playground for Kevin Bowen. Like with me, if
little bit of sp if spice channel were to pop on,

I go, hey, I get a little excited. There's some

I mean, you get a little bit of Hen and

know there's no fronnel coordination with the fellas going on there, right.

With Kevin Bowen, that is Colt's camp. He absolutely loves
that his sports arousal is going to Grand Park and
documented every single moment of And believe me, he is
a tremendous resource. Does a great job in the morning

between he and James Boyd because they both have to
do it. I swear to you. I don't know if
I told you this last week when I was out
so we hooped it up. We could go Sunday. We
hoop it up every Sunday. And I called James. I said, hey,
James Man, we're gonna play you in. He immediately got
back and said, hey, I'm in. I said, all right,
so I'm doing the j MV takeover. Everything's good. I'm in.

I get up in the morning, I have to go shower.
I get a really hot shower going so I can
get all the muscles loose so I can have all
eight inches of my vertical good to go. And I
come back out of the shower of the text from
James Boyd saying, hey, you know what, I've got to
go cover the fever today. And this was the quote.

I love me some James Boyd, but this quote is brutal, Nathaniel.
He said, quote, I have to be fresh to cover
the fever game this afternoon. End quote. I have to

And that was the New York at Liberty. That's going
the fever twenty seven, twenty one. And the third that
was kind of a precursor, that was the appetizer to

I can tell you how I feel. Some are going
to suggest, hey, twelve and twelve and missing so many
games without Kitlen Clark. I'll take it. I'm still incredibly disappointed,
and not so much for games like last night, I

mean the liberty of legit, but I'm a little bit
more disappointed in a couple of losses like the LA Sparks,
who it stinks, they stink. The other teams not fresh,
and they've beaten what now twice, I believe the fever
on the season twice. Those are the games, and that's
what disappoints me. Like last night wasn't disappointing. You're coming

off an All Star break and these guys had zero break.
They were the host city and they were going the
entire time, and you're playing without your best player, You're
playing without Kaitlyn Clark. Everybody is disappointed because of that.
I don't even it was Jason Sidakas. Even then, normally

Kaylen Clark goes, doesn't he especially New York. But I'm

disappointed Kelsey Mitchell. I thought was fantastic twenty nine points,
but just not enough, especially in the second half and
especially late in the fourth where it really got brutal.

don't know how much we focused on this in the past.
But in the pace U Sir NBA Final series with OKC,
what was the biggest deal? And a lot of you
are immediately saying, well, thirty three stunk. Wow, that is true.

What was the biggest deal? It was points off of turnovers?
And it wasn't really you know, just the turnovers themselves
are bad enough, but the points off of turnovers are weary,
absolutely out. And the Fever turned the ball over nineteen
times last night. Now you're going to say, well, wait
a minute, didn't the Liberty turn it over nineteen times

as well? But the Liberty were home court advantage. The
Liberty has the advantage of having a more talented team
right now and taking on a team without their major focus.
So that's a big deal and you simply put cannot
do that. And I'm not a big fan of the
whole Dorkerri and plus minus. But when you go off

I think they all go for like minus seventeen nineteen

on the season is disappointing. It's easy enough to suggest

New OPPORTUNITIES so i just treated.

As such did you Have a sometimes people tell me,
athletically speaking whether, it's, football, basketball whatever that, you know
the knowledge that you gather with, the experience there's just
kind of a switch, that's flipped so. To speak did
you did you hit that a? Year ago is there
a moment to where, you, thought yeah you, KNOW what
i can play and play consistently at a high. LEVEL
here i think it.

Was just showing myself every week that, YOU know i
can go out there and play the. High level, you
know every week was a. New week, you know new,
new opponent, you know. New challenges so, you know at
the end of, the day just going out there and
adapt into the, different opponents adapt into the different, you
know game plans we had and going out there and
still playing the high level. Every week, you know the
confidence grew to be able to go out there and
do it the.

Week, after man you cannot sidestep. At, All, confidence keny
that is such a motivating and a juicing fact or
just that confidence you get for. Playing WELL and i
mean consistently like you did a, Year, ago nick week,
after week Can.

the day it's. About preparation your nigga gotta Go in
you Gotta prepar you got to prepare the. Right way

know then when you have, the success, you know it's
from the. Hard work so just trying to work hard and,
you know transfer everything from, you know the film room

things a lot of things that you know we might
not have done. Last year, you know still incorporating, some
things but, you know at the end of, the day
it's exciting to go and, you know learning new defense
and and be a part of some uh.

Something great it feels like that with Him. In cincinnati
and this could be completely inaccurate and you could talk
about it a. Little bit it feels like there's more
of an emphasis on what you guys do in the
secondary with this. Defensive philosophy is? That true is there
is there truth to that what we have Seen in
cincinnati and the transition Here.

TO andy i, MEAN yeah I mean i think, you know,
of course LOSE a dB guy. At heart, you know
he's been coaching dbs for for a, long time, you
know so, YOU know i think that that's where you

you know just trying to make sure to spend, my time,
you know getting my body ready for the season a
head as well as, you know take some time to

Just a, little bit you Know what. I'm saying, you
know play a, little hoops, you know play a little
golf and just, you know at the end of, the

The road well, let's uh let's go over this golf
game a. Little bit are we improving with the golf
game like we have been improving obviously defensively with. The,
COLTS yeah.

I MEAN like, i said everything, takes right everything takes
yes time to be able to go out there and
do you got to Go out you gotta take, your
lessons you gotta go to the driving rans and you got,
to go, you know play. The course and at the
end of, the day, you know the swing gets better every.
Single time, you know the direction of which the ball
is being hit gets better. Every time and at the
end of, the day it's about, you know consistently taking
those reps and going out there and applying what you

learn in the lesson to what you do out on.
The course so still a long ways, to, go though but,

base respond to their success.

day definitely exciting and promising to see what we can

football when he Was. In minnesota so just being able
