Speaker 1 (00:10):
And where we go here?
Speaker 2 (00:13):
Anything you have a chance against us? Mister cowboy gay
what you like to do?
Speaker 3 (00:18):
Oh, I don't play chess.
Speaker 1 (00:21):
Screw Sweller's play chest.
Speaker 4 (00:23):
They give off the Chonan Taylor Chuck Cunning its way
clock to.
Speaker 1 (00:26):
The goal line.
Speaker 2 (00:27):
He's in there, cut down.
Speaker 1 (00:30):
And why Jonathan Taylor were hinds Corn.
Speaker 3 (00:36):
Here's Hannibert into the front court mishandled it.
Speaker 1 (00:39):
Mcgins a shot he is hens it.
Speaker 5 (00:43):
John.
Speaker 4 (00:44):
I have never been betterom to be on the air
with you here in Indianapolis, a place where so many
of my dreams have come.
Speaker 3 (00:51):
True with the ride with JMV on ninety three five
and one oh seven five the Fan.
Speaker 1 (00:57):
I was just talking to James off the air. He
was back of this.
Speaker 4 (01:00):
I'm at Grand Park in Westfield for Colts Camp. I
got a late afternoon practice. That means I have to
hustle us up here and be a part of it.
What's a good deal because one of my favorites, and
granted I have had one conversation with him, but he
is one of my favorites because he was outstanding when
we had that conversation back in the spring.
Speaker 1 (01:20):
Mooney is on the show later on today.
Speaker 4 (01:23):
Yes, Sarvarius Ward from that Colt secondary, remember how good
he was the first time.
Speaker 1 (01:30):
Me and Mooney are going to hang here.
Speaker 4 (01:32):
At about five forty five, coming up later on this afternoon,
So that is worth the.
Speaker 1 (01:37):
Time and the effort. Again, I got to give a
shout out.
Speaker 4 (01:40):
And I know oftentimes people say, well, you say so
many things about him. I mean, it's constantly critical. How
do they ever deal with you? The Colts have never
had an issue with a word that I have said,
so shout out to them. And they continue to get
guests when guests come on the show, and that is
a hell of a lot better than others. So that
is out standing. And a shout out to Matt Conti
(02:02):
for that. And Mooney will join us coming up today
at five forty five. I'm looking at you right now,
waving at you to Triple A Membership Lounge via YouTube
lov Hello to everybody there too. We had a fantastic weekend.
I'm going to go into full the tail, but I
started out by suggesting because off the air I was
talking to James and I'll say, hey, James, there's some
(02:24):
wind Shuler's cheese somewhere on Level four where you are
right now, and it may be in the fridge. I
know that I kind of turned over the cheese proceedings
to Hammer and Nigel, so you may have to ask Alison,
their producer, or Hammer and Nigel. But there is cheese
from wind Shulers. And yes, all of you fans out
(02:48):
there of the spreadability, make a note of this.
Speaker 1 (02:51):
The spreadability is.
Speaker 4 (02:52):
Back for twenty twenty five, Bob Nunia as their president.
Speaker 1 (02:57):
I was with him a little bit earlier.
Speaker 4 (02:58):
And in fact I'm gonna eat him at Crafters down
in Carmel on my way home later on tonight, so
we can talk up different ways that we can prop
up the spreadability with you. So, yes, I know this
is going to make you excited for the upcoming.
Speaker 1 (03:15):
Fall more than anything else.
Speaker 4 (03:17):
Yeah, you can talk about pumpkin spice lattes and caramel
apples and bluegrass music and tater bins and tube socks
and going to the Covered Bridge Fest. But when Shuler's
spreadability is at the top of the list for you,
and when Schuler's cheese is back coming up here for
(03:39):
the late summer and the early fall of twenty twenty five.
At a shout out to Bob and again I'm gonna
go to crafters with Bob coming up here when this
is all over, on my way home and hang out
with him. We're thinking of real and unique ideas to
even more so than we did a couple of years ago.
Spread the word on the spreadability, and we do that
(04:00):
coming up late summer and early fall when Shoolers is back,
everybody and it is outstanding. So I shout out to
Bob and everybody who was asked about that too. A
shout out to you, and I mean all of you
that showed up at the Indiana State Fair for the
JMV takeover on Saturday night.
Speaker 1 (04:18):
It was tremendous. You know this to be true.
Speaker 4 (04:21):
I love radio and I certainly loved the grassroots effort
of radio, and that was it. Being out live. We
had multiple personalities going. I was smart and savvy enough
to bring Laura Steel out with me.
Speaker 1 (04:36):
Everybody loves Laura Steele.
Speaker 4 (04:38):
So Laura hung out with me for the better part
of six hours, as did DJ Skids, and you guys
came out to the tap room, the Yuruks as well
Monica and Jerry as a part of the tap room
that is theirs that was outstanding.
Speaker 1 (04:55):
They wanted us out there.
Speaker 4 (04:57):
They actually kept the place open, the tap room until
eleven o'clock for us. So if you're out at the
State Fair, I'll be back out there again on Wednesday.
But if you're out at the State Fair, make sure
you go into the tap room and ask for Monica
or Jerry and thank them because they are outstanding people.
Speaker 1 (05:16):
And that was a great time with.
Speaker 4 (05:18):
Lower Steel, with DJ Skids and with all of you
out there. I know Rob from Berengers on the South
Side joined us for a little bit too. I saw
so many of you. It is a trick to do
the JMV Takeover live. I mean it does entail a lot.
It's not easy, but man, is it worth it with
Radio and mine because it is absolutely fun as hell
(05:41):
and we'll be doing it again coming up in a
couple of weeks at Mystic Waters Campground. I'm going to
try to pitch that to Bob about just a bunch
of wind shoolers that Mystic Waters.
Speaker 1 (05:53):
That was awesome.
Speaker 4 (05:54):
Yesterday as we celebrated eighty years at SIDDS in Noblesville
was great. Shout out to Brian and Michael and David
and Ronda and everybody there. They had a fantastic four
days at SIDDS in Noblesville. We're going to be back
for a tavern tour stop at SIDDS in Noblesville coming
up on the twenty eighth. That's going to be in
a longer form. Yesterday was just kind of quick hits
(06:17):
with me and the guys there, but we're going to
be back there coming up on the twenty eighth for
this August tavern Tour stop with Heavin Hill Distillery at
the legendary SIDS in Noblesville as they are celebrating eighty years.
Great place, as you well know, great food and incredible tenderloin.
And I was there yesterday. It was great to see
(06:38):
everybody out. And then our good friend jaylaw Jeff Lawrence
invited everybody from SIDS to hang out at his pool
at the fou Bar Lounge yesterday. So I went over
there and hung out with everybody we had. Lizzy was there,
and Jess was there, and Nicole and Harley d and
Chad and Stacey and Jeremiah, Melissa, Susie and Jay look
(07:03):
great time. I want to thank them for doing that
as well. So we got to hang out there on
Sunday afternoon, late afternoon too. It was a fantastic weekend,
It really was for the Fever on Saturday, after losers
have two straight back on the winning track. Chicago's an
absolute mess if you can't tell that by the season
they've had and by the way that they played against the.
Speaker 1 (07:25):
Fever on Saturday.
Speaker 4 (07:26):
Fever have Dallas here at town at the Fieldhouse coming
up tomorrow night, and then back at home against Washington
on Friday, and of course right at the end of
the show. I guess on Friday, at the end of
the show, I know we learned the circumstances with the injuries.
There's been some additions, and you kind of cross your
fingers and you hope that at some point you do
(07:47):
end up seeing Caitlin Clark back because that is highly necessary.
Speaking of injuries, we'll find out a little bit more today.
So you've essentially here at Grand Park and Westfield have
more opportunities to see this product now, granted, later on
today is going to be a late afternoon practice. Oh look,
(08:07):
there you are. You gotta come over and join me later.
Oh cool, that's awesome. Alexa's in the house. But you
have essentially today in the afternoon and then the joint
practice with the Packers. It's still a little bit of
alexa whenever you're okay, is Hagan not out of today?
Speaker 1 (08:25):
A little bit later, Oh.
Speaker 4 (08:28):
Okay, I'm not gonna hold my breath in so I'm sure. Yeah,
I'm sure it is. We'll talk to you a little bit,
a little bit later. So anyway, we what was I? Oh, yeah,
today the injury situations because there have been a lot
of them. While you're talking about, you know, wide receiver situations,
Alec Pierce, quarterbacks, back quarterbacks going to still battle it
(08:51):
out in the minds of the Colts, brass and Daniel
Jones gets to start against the Packers coming up on Saturday,
where the Anthony rich getting a lot of work coming
up in the first half, and then we shall find out.
You know where I stand on this is going to
be Anthony Richardson all the time. There's no question about it.
And do I think that's any sort of solution. I
don't not from what I've seen, nobody's standing out. But
(09:15):
we've said this all along. If nobody was going to
stand out, we knew that ultimately it was going to
go back to Anthony Richardson, and that's exactly what I
expect to happen. And I don't know how much we're
going to find out today. I do expect a hearty
and going after it type of practice, you know, a
d if Indeed, guys are going to be able to
(09:35):
participate because they are dinged up, but we'll talk about
that over the course of the afternoon. They're going to
get started out here coming up what about four thirty
or so, I think, and I think actually four o'clock.
I take that back four o'clock until around five point
thirty I believe.
Speaker 1 (09:50):
That it is.
Speaker 4 (09:50):
And then Mooney's going to stop over here coming up
at five point forty five.
Speaker 1 (09:54):
So we'll hit that up coming up a little bit too.
Speaker 4 (09:56):
Around the NFL, if you've watched any of the preseason games,
it's kind the same all the way around. Shudr Sanders
look good in his debut for the Browns, there's no
question about that. Over the weekend we got all that
and more sports wise. But I do want to give
some love right here because he just walked up and
he is a part of colts camp today with us
our friend Deren Andrews.
Speaker 1 (10:17):
If we grow Hereandy dot com.
Speaker 4 (10:18):
I want to give him a tremendous shot because he
was also a part of what was just a fantastic
golf outing and legends down in Franklin on Thursday. My brother,
thank you very much for what you brought to the table.
It was outstanding day on Thursday. And you continue to
just revolutionize the deal here.
Speaker 1 (10:36):
Man. You do well.
Speaker 4 (10:37):
Thank you, And I'm trying to catch up with you
right here because you look you'll only do doubt he's
gonna wear a button down shirt like that.
Speaker 1 (10:42):
I'll look good.
Speaker 4 (10:43):
Let me tell you, well, thank you twice in a week. Huh,
twice in a week, There's no doubt about that. So yeah,
you're out here hanging out today Frankles Camp. Normally you
come out here a day or two, I know during
Colts camp here at Westfield. Like to walk around, take
things in and you know, it's interesting to you see
a lot of people I'm sure you've dealt with like
me out here.
Speaker 6 (11:01):
You know, some people of course, very private, some less private.
Speaker 4 (11:04):
Like I don't bring anybody up. I bring up myself
because I'm sure as hell proud out of it. Mister
Barry Krause, we can talk about Corse and Rick the Mulling.
So those guys we helped with here transplants. Of course,
you and I both had here transplants.
Speaker 1 (11:17):
We did.
Speaker 6 (11:18):
It's not all we do.
Speaker 1 (11:19):
We do. I'm just not on a sticking billboard anymore.
Where the hell more on my billboards?
Speaker 7 (11:23):
Well, I'm lobbying for you, but it's not my decision
these days. But you'll be back decision, is it?
Speaker 1 (11:29):
Leah?
Speaker 8 (11:29):
Over there?
Speaker 6 (11:31):
Leah?
Speaker 1 (11:32):
Why am I not? I like I drab bell billboards
and I go, man, I look really good, right especially, Yeah,
I'm look really good. I can't go with the old
picture though, Leah.
Speaker 4 (11:42):
Yeah, I gotta go with the slim one, the new picture,
There's no doubt about that. How do things go on
with it? And by the way, how was the golfart?
It was wonderful, wonderful.
Speaker 7 (11:49):
It's just a pleasure to be a part of its
great cause and you know we do it every year.
And it was a great day. I know the team
had had a lot of fun and it was. It
was a great day. It's a great tune. Fantastic too, now.
Speaker 4 (12:01):
It was, Yeah, it was it was hot day, kind
of just a little bit like this as well maybe
a little bit less wind, yes, but yeah, and you
just can't go wrong with legend Ted Bishop, you know
down in Franklin just does such as a job, whether
it really was.
Speaker 7 (12:15):
You know, I come here and it makes you think
of a question I get all the time about wearing
hats and helmets and hair loss. And that's that's a myth,
of course, to clear that one up right away.
Speaker 6 (12:26):
Helmets and hats dunk holes here loss.
Speaker 4 (12:28):
See, people always wondered to wear when you wear the
helmets if it didn't rub the top, they don't like helmets.
Helmets and stuff that rubbed the top, don't call no.
Speaker 7 (12:38):
I mean, if you have a hair transpire, there's a
little bit of a recovery period for the fist teen days.
Speaker 1 (12:42):
So you know, I think I seem to remember that.
Speaker 4 (12:45):
Yeah, so when you told me not to play basketball,
and I think I did, Yeah, well, you know I
don't listen, No, that's fair enough.
Speaker 6 (12:51):
I kind of saw that. I saw that one coming,
that coming.
Speaker 1 (12:57):
Yeah, I don't think. I don't think there's dumb ass
listen to day anybody.
Speaker 6 (13:00):
So, yeah, but you're not You're not the first man
to really like that.
Speaker 1 (13:04):
Yeah, I believe in the lifetime was revolutionized.
Speaker 7 (13:06):
Ye trade, No, you're definitely not the first guy to
do that. So no, look, there is that recovery period.
So it's a interesting we see athletes at different times
of the year. You know, you see the football players
and the basketballers at different times the end of season
when they've got a little window. So if you can
have ten days or a couple of weeks, you're in
pretty good shape for that healing process. And once those
little tiny crustal scams come off after that first week
(13:27):
or so.
Speaker 1 (13:28):
You're really in the clear.
Speaker 4 (13:29):
Yeah, I just can't have guys throwing errant passes near
my dome. That's just what happen sometimes when we come on, Man,
I turned my head around. I got to keep my
head on a swivel a little bit better with the
as well. How's everything doing.
Speaker 7 (13:41):
It's going great, it's going great. Yeah, it's it's sad
to believe that we're part way through the year. Of course,
with what we do, particularly on the medical heall transplant
side of things, time goes fast because you're looking at schedules. Yeah,
you know, you're scheduling a head as you well know, so, uh,
you know that global approach. We take you know, preventive
here last early stage things we talk about all the time.
It's kind of changed the of our industry a lot
(14:01):
with medically proven solutions with plasma treatments and growth factor
treatments and low level laser light yep, things that you
can do to get to hear loss early, to control
here loss and some of us again, as we talk
about we have to take a global approach. Sometimes you've
got to transport to put permanent natural growing here back
and keep the hair that's already up there, so you
combine modalities sometimes.
Speaker 4 (14:22):
Right at Darren Andrews and again he was such a
significant part of our golf outing which was such a
huge success. Going back to Thursday down at Franklin A Legends.
Speaker 1 (14:32):
Joined us live.
Speaker 4 (14:33):
I mentioned he always does a couple of trips around
when we're here out of camp.
Speaker 1 (14:37):
Look at Rick Venturi.
Speaker 4 (14:38):
How are you going to join me a little bit later? Brother,
h I think I think you should. I think you gotta.
Deren Andrews joins us. We have Rick Venturi. He's going
to be a lot more on this show with us,
and really everybody loves that, so that is a good thing.
Hey tell people to the one thing that people ask
me about all the time, Darren. While we're on the subject,
(14:59):
here is the whole regrow in your hair. And if
there's any complications, if somebody is like me trying to
go through the whole weight loss process.
Speaker 1 (15:08):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (15:08):
So you know, when you shock the body or something
happens very quickly, like rapid weight loss, you release a
lot of toxins into the blood stream and here follicles
can be shocked, right, so you can go into what's
called telagen where you have a rapid amount of hair
loss as a result of the rapid weight loss. So
we see a lot of people now we were putting
plans in place where they come and say, look, you
know I want to lose some weight. I'm going to
(15:29):
go through these steps and these steps, and we have
preventative things where you can run some defense one of
a bit of term and get ahead of it so
that you're not creating another problem when you have that
rapid weight loss. So we have a really specialist part
of our business now that we really focus on that.
Speaker 1 (15:43):
Let's go it too.
Speaker 4 (15:44):
Well, you and I have that conversation, yes, but I mean, yeah,
here's the thing, guys, and I say this all the
time and people think I'm joking about it.
Speaker 1 (15:51):
I'm not.
Speaker 4 (15:52):
I told you from the gate that my plan is
to have all new parts by the time I'm sixty.
Speaker 1 (15:56):
Yep.
Speaker 4 (15:57):
So that's the plan right here, and I'm well on
the way. I'm well on the way of adding all
new parts. There's James Boyd. We played a little hoop
yesterday Southboard High School right there, Darren Anders, James Boyd
and I the now all new parts by the time
that I'm sixty. And that this certainly our relationship, you
being a part of our station, our group of stations too. Man,
(16:20):
I know that it's a very special thing in our
building there. And I cannot show you enough for sure,
for all your trust to tell.
Speaker 1 (16:27):
Everybody how they can get involved.
Speaker 4 (16:28):
Maybe if you're on the fence, maybe if you're get
a new to the entire process, how they can Yeah.
Speaker 7 (16:32):
Well, firstly, the website we grow into dot com of course,
lots of videos, information, you'll VIP page, you'll journey colleagues
of yours as well, of course, but there's a lot
of information on there. So go there. Start that educational process,
the consultation virtually or in person, called three one seven
five two two two nine ninety five. We can set
that up at the Pyramid buildings right up at Full
sixty five in Michigan Road. So local been doing it
(16:55):
for twenty years now with a lot of us have
been through here restoration as you know, so very passionate
what we do.
Speaker 1 (17:00):
We love that well. But I mean you have been
a voice.
Speaker 4 (17:04):
Uh, you have been a friend and a partner and
we cannot thank you enough, and especially for being a
part of the golf outing on Thursday. Well, I know
everybody there is absolutely incredible, and I mean, seriously, I
can't imagine what I look like right now, the classic
horseshoe design. And I try to explain to people it's
(17:24):
not like what Costanza tried to do with is just
try to take nothing on.
Speaker 1 (17:28):
There A lot of.
Speaker 7 (17:29):
People on sure you relocating genetically permanent here from the
back of nineteen's it's permanent, So you move it to
the top of the transport.
Speaker 1 (17:36):
Yep, why guys, darn Andrews.
Speaker 4 (17:38):
We grow here ay dot com three one seven five
to two twenty nine ninety five.
Speaker 1 (17:43):
Yep, my brother, thank you for such You're gonna hang
out for a while. Thank you.
Speaker 4 (17:46):
We're going to be sitting right here. Rick, what time
you want to join me? A little bit later? Right now?
Speaker 1 (17:52):
Well, okay, can we get it? You want to do it? Oh?
Can I take it?
Speaker 9 (17:57):
Oh?
Speaker 4 (17:57):
Okay, you do? You have plenty of time here. I
gotta get Rick, Vin and Surrey in long form on
here coming up in a minute. I'll tell you what
I'm gonna do, James. Let's take a break and we'll
come back. I know the Steven Holder is going to
come on at three thirty. I'm going to try to
get as many people as I can often. I know
then these guys are all going to be concentrating on
practice when we kind of stand down just a little bit, James.
Speaker 1 (18:15):
So we'll do that.
Speaker 4 (18:16):
Timing wise here out of Grant Park in Westfield, it
is an afternoon of practice and again coming up on Thursday,
a joint practice with the Packers, and that leads us
to preseason game number two with the Packers coming up
on Saturday afternoon, Colt's pregame huddle. I'll be a part
of that, So we'll explain that coming up a little
(18:37):
bit later on as well.
Speaker 1 (18:38):
Alex Poalo.
Speaker 4 (18:40):
Arguably, if there even is an argument the best season
in IndyCar history.
Speaker 1 (18:46):
Just an incredible ride for him.
Speaker 4 (18:48):
We'll Power wins in Portland yesterday once Paddle Award had
a smoking issue. It was all over beforehand anyway, but
was it really all over after that? And Alex Polow
an incredible season, will Power by the way wins the
race and we'll see where he's going to be coming
up next year too. Logically not with team Penske, but
(19:10):
Alex Polow your IndyCar champion. With two races remaining at
Milwaukee and in Nashville, little MLB, we can work that
in as well. And we've got a lot of guests.
I mentioned Alexa Ross the fifty nine is going to
join us a little bit later on. I'm gonna see
if Case has time to pop on here a little
bit later, Rick Venturi, Steven Holder, John.
Speaker 1 (19:31):
Nolan, who is the voice of the Fever.
Speaker 4 (19:33):
They get back on the winning track on Saturday, as
I mentioned, and a lot from you at two three
nine ten seventy.
Speaker 1 (19:39):
What the heck?
Speaker 4 (19:39):
I will not neglect you today two three nine ten seventy.
If you want to jump on board. I know that
the hard target conversation is about the quarterbacks, and we
can stick to that.
Speaker 1 (19:50):
But there are other layers to this team.
Speaker 4 (19:52):
As we get into preseason game number two on Saturday,
that we should mention. And I know a lot of
you want me to talk about the brand new Colts Pretzel.
I don't know if we're gonna work that one in
the day or not, but it did make me laugh
a great deal, So all shout out to you for
making me laugh. Regarding the horseshoe Pretzel, two thumbs up
for me. If you're watching via the Triple A Membership Lounge,
(20:14):
the stream, the app, it's HD Radio and you can
find us at Grand Park in Westfield today. Two three
nine ten seventy is that number? A lot of guests,
a lot of conversation with me and you as well.
Don't go anywhere. It's ninety three to five and one
oh seven five the.
Speaker 3 (20:30):
Fan, the ride with JMV.
Speaker 1 (20:36):
Look at on the.
Speaker 3 (20:37):
E three five and one oh seven five the Fan.
Speaker 2 (20:41):
I forgot.
Speaker 4 (20:42):
I didn't know they welcome back Westfield Grand Park. Casey
Amado like quizzing me right here, I'm going, yeah, I
think so. I think I'm committed to stuff I don't
know if I can actually do, which is very familiar.
Rick Venturi is here with us right now at Grand
Park in Westfield.
Speaker 1 (20:56):
How you doing, buddy, Hey, Johnny. I'm doing.
Speaker 4 (20:59):
I'm committed to a lot of things right now, but
I'm not quite sure what I'm committing to.
Speaker 1 (21:03):
I'm doing real good.
Speaker 10 (21:04):
I can't believe that we're you know, we're looking at
the end of training camp. I mean Thursday, Thursday night
as the last practice.
Speaker 1 (21:13):
You know.
Speaker 10 (21:14):
And I know people won't believe this and probably don't
want to hear it from some dinosaur, but you know,
there were days when I first started in the NFL
that we had six weeks six four weeks and those
were two of a practices every day. You were just
I mean, by the end of it, you were a zombie.
I mean, this is wonderful.
Speaker 1 (21:33):
This is it's almost like a country club division.
Speaker 4 (21:35):
Well, they used to treat those six preseason games like
there were roll season.
Speaker 10 (21:38):
Absolutely, and then I never went the six when I
came in in eighty two, which seems like a long time,
but we had gone to four.
Speaker 1 (21:47):
We had gone to four, and we at.
Speaker 10 (21:49):
Least what we did is we played our regulars the
first quarter, the first half of the second game, and
then you played the half plus half, the three, third quarter,
and then you'd very seldom shaming in the fourth game.
But yeah, and that's a little pet peeve of mine.
I don't understand it. I particularly from a defensive standpoint. Okay,
(22:11):
I don't understand why you don't play guys in any game. Okay,
even if even John, if it's for a quarter like
last I just last Thursday, I would just play a
quarter because that's the only time you tackle.
Speaker 1 (22:24):
You don't tackle in practice.
Speaker 4 (22:25):
Even as good as this team has been, problematic, there's
unquestionably were.
Speaker 1 (22:34):
You can look that one up, that you can google
that one up.
Speaker 10 (22:37):
We're the worst tackling team last year in the league,
and by a long shot. And so to me, you know,
there's I could get into a bunch of nuances what
I think makes good tackling teams, But one of them
is repetition doubt, you know. I mean it's you know,
if you got to shoot a jump shot, you practice
a jump shot. And I just think even if you
put your starters in there for a few plays just
(22:58):
to get tackling, live tackling, practice tackling, or you know,
sometime in practice, have old fashioned tackling drills where they're
one on one and they're not bodies. I just don't
understand how you can expect to be a good tackling
team if you don't tackle.
Speaker 4 (23:13):
Well, and then that equates too, especially at this art
of the season, this losing trend, this organization that's going
well for so many years.
Speaker 10 (23:20):
Yeah, I would definitely, I would definitely have analyzed that
two thirteen is your last win. I mean, your percentages
in week one and two are awful. And there's another
thing involved here too. Coaches so overreact today. I think
they're afraid of the media to tell you the truth.
You know, you go through a hard practice on Thursday
and you can't come back on Saturday, Like it just
(23:43):
blows my mind.
Speaker 1 (23:44):
And here's what I see. Here's what I see.
Speaker 10 (23:46):
The trend today is when you protect all these guys
in August. Just look at the amount of injuries in September.
They're unbelievable. It's unbelievable. Spike in September injury more than
any camp, right, Oh, it's the whole. And then and
then when you balance it out, how many times do
you balance out? Well, you know, we did sidestep injuries
(24:07):
in August but we really sucked in the first two
months of the season. Plus plus football is terrible r
I mean right in September. You know it's a but
if you look at the spike in injuries in September,
because you just think about it common sense. You don't
even have to be a nuanced football guy. Okay, you
go out, you play fifteen twenty plays in a preseason game,
maybe twenty, and then all of a sudden in the
(24:30):
regular season you open up, maybe in the heat of
the day, and you have seventy five I mean it.
You know you're gonna get push off injuries, You're gonna
get torchs twists, much less just the contact. So yeah,
you know, I you know, I'll argue that till the
day is long on people.
Speaker 1 (24:46):
You know that is Rick Van Cherry.
Speaker 4 (24:48):
He's got new multi segments here on our pregame show,
the Colt Pregame Huddle. We absolutely love that and more
appearances on this show is always great. As he joins
us at Westfield Grant Park at Colt's camp for their
the noon practice later off today. So where would you
expect the quarterback competition.
Speaker 10 (25:05):
To be right now, Rick, Well, you know, obviously the
injury to Anthony Thursday night put a little bit of
a chink in the armor because I think up until
that point, I think Shane was doing about as good
a job as you could do to give them equal reps.
I mean, he had he cut it down. He cut
(25:27):
it down the line almost perfectly, and there wasn't how
can I put it, There wasn't a substantial difference. Okay,
there wasn't like a huge difference. And in that case,
I think if you would have gone all the way
to the end that way and they're pretty much equal,
then the choice was would probably be Richardson, because if
(25:51):
they're pretty much equal, you want to go with maybe
his playmaking potential. But you know, then you see something
the other night, You see a bad day Saturday in practice.
Last Thursday night under the lights he was terrific, and
then Saturday he was equally as bad, and that scared me.
And then the other night being totally oblivious to the blitz.
That scares me. And I like Dannie a lot better
(26:15):
than most people oblivious or nonchalant. No, I don't think.
I don't think he got it. And whether or not
he was trained well enough to get it, or he
can't get it. First of all, First of all, there's
a third thing. There's a nuanced thing. But Henry, they
it was it's actually a very difficult thing. They went
five out, Okay, five out. Why you're going five out
(26:37):
against Baltimore who's been blitzing for centuries?
Speaker 1 (26:40):
Okay, centuries, Okay, no matter what person, no matter who
you're playing about.
Speaker 10 (26:45):
So now when you go five out and you turn
the protection one way, then you've got a hot to
the right, but you've got a primary to the left.
So you've got to be able to glance, you know,
glance over here while you're going back, and then come
over here. Now what happened to Anthony? I studied it
in detail. They gave him a week side role, so
(27:08):
they rolled right into where the hot is. And when
he saw that week side role, I know his immediate
focus was I'm going to throw it to the slot,
which was goold, I'm gonna throw over here. So he
didn't focus over here at all. And when two guys
came off that side, one of them was unrocked. You
only had one one blocker, and so you know he
missed that total. Now you know, to me, I don't
(27:30):
know if they maybe ask him a little bit more
than he could do, which is coaching. That's a coaching
flaw number two. Can he get it? I mean, you know,
that's something that you do have to get. So that's
a little trouble, Simon worrisome. But I am. You know,
I like Danny Jones a lot better than everybody else does.
I mean, if he's the quarterback, I ain't gonna be mad.
Speaker 1 (27:50):
You know.
Speaker 10 (27:50):
Everybody keeps saying, well, you know, and I've said it, well,
he's not going to wow you. But you know, if
you got a good enough team around you, you don't
necessarily have to wow every day.
Speaker 1 (27:58):
You got to do good things. You got it, you know.
And he's he's still even in.
Speaker 10 (28:02):
His bad days with the Giants, he's a sixty four
to sixty seven percent passer. You know, his twenty two season.
He earned the money. So I mean, you know, I
don't know. I mean, I you know, you know, particularly
with him starting this week, We'll see how that goes.
But you know, I don't you know, I don't know
(28:23):
how they want it to go. But like I said,
I'm just saying to you and we'll talk about it
the Monday night. We'll have our big show, the big
one Monday night before Cincinnati. I mean not before Cincinnati,
before Miami. You know, I'm not I'm not going to
be mad if Danny Jones is the quarterback.
Speaker 1 (28:38):
I want you to hang with us right here.
Speaker 4 (28:39):
I know Steven holders On and Andy Moro Automotive Group
hotline listening to what we have to say.
Speaker 1 (28:43):
Right here.
Speaker 4 (28:44):
Steve, and I'd ask Rick Venturi, who's with me here
at Grand Park in Westfield right now, what he thought
about the quarterback competition to date?
Speaker 1 (28:52):
What are your thoughts?
Speaker 11 (28:55):
Yeah, I mean pretty similar. I think it's I do think.
I want to say I agree that Shane did a
good job because I was not convinced they were going
to be able to really walk that line of giving
both guys an adequate opportunity. And they did do that
until the first quarter on Thursday night, So I think
(29:19):
that was important. And I think in doing that, you
gave them both a great opportunity to create separations.
Speaker 5 (29:26):
We didn't see that separation. So what the injury does,
and I think Coach kind of hit on this, what the.
Speaker 11 (29:32):
Injury does, is it just put that little seed in
your head, like, oh yeah, he gets hurt a lot,
you know, And I don't think this is.
Speaker 5 (29:41):
A big deal.
Speaker 11 (29:41):
It's not a big deal, right, He's fine, he he
practiced the next practice, he missed nothing. But it is
it is part of the reason that Daniel Jones is here.
Speaker 5 (29:53):
It's because of the injuries.
Speaker 11 (29:54):
In fact, I would argue without his injury history, Daniel
Jones is not here.
Speaker 5 (29:58):
Regardless of Anthony Richardson's performance.
Speaker 11 (30:01):
So so that's that's that's something we can't ignore. But
I do think that it's very even for the most part.
I agree that the playmaking tilts it for me a
little bit. And I think the incumbency of Anthony Richardson has.
Speaker 5 (30:15):
To matter unless Carl.
Speaker 11 (30:18):
Ersay And and Chris Ballard are are just talking for
their for their for their health.
Speaker 5 (30:24):
Right.
Speaker 11 (30:25):
They both made it clear they want to see what
he can do that they said, he has time. Well,
you have to play him to see what you have
and at least give him that last chance. So I
would I would start Richardson unless something changes dramatically. If
I were the coach, I'd start Richardson, let him let
him play, let him pass, fail, get benched, get hurt, whatever,
(30:48):
and let it be what it will be and then
you go from there.
Speaker 10 (30:52):
Yeah, I don't see it quite that way, you know,
I I you know, I mean we have we we
have seen a lot, and I take to is you know,
we can spin it that it isn't a big year.
Speaker 1 (31:04):
This is a huge year. It is. This is a
huge year.
Speaker 10 (31:07):
This is a huge year for the Holy the Holy Trinity,
the general manager, the coach, but most importantly, and there's
one thing, and Bill Belichick taught me this, it's only
one thing that matters, and that's beating Miami. Nothing else,
nothing else matters. And the best guy that you can
put in there to beat Miami, that's who you put
(31:28):
in there, right you think?
Speaker 4 (31:32):
And I'm gonna Stephen, this is this is coming back
to you. You mentioned just being the guy already, and
my philosophy had Ben Fellas that was going to be
him unless there was just such an incredibly noticeable gap
that even dork's like.
Speaker 1 (31:47):
Me could see. And that's when it's Daniel Jones.
Speaker 4 (31:51):
I just I don't happen to think if it's close,
that close is going to go to Daniel Jones in
this case, Rick, you can answer this first, and then Steven, Well,
the only.
Speaker 10 (32:00):
Thing that you guys aren't factoring in that I factor
in with coaching experience, is that was a frightening misfire
correct by your starting quarterback to not even be aware
of what happened.
Speaker 1 (32:13):
Okay, that that if you don't, if you're not worried
about that, you know, you know, and I don't.
Speaker 10 (32:21):
I think he's been accurate, But I still don't see
pinpoint accuracy.
Speaker 1 (32:27):
I don't. I don't.
Speaker 10 (32:28):
I don't necessarily see that, and you know, I hope
I'm wrong, because he has you know, he has tools.
Speaker 1 (32:37):
You know, we keep talking about that.
Speaker 10 (32:39):
He has tools to make big and explosive plays, you know,
But at the end of the day, it was forty
seven percent completion last year.
Speaker 5 (32:49):
Steven, go ahead, Yeah, so that's correct.
Speaker 11 (32:54):
I think in terms of the ten point accuracy, I agree,
he's been much better than he has in the past.
Speaker 5 (32:59):
I've been a better technician in a better passer the football.
But it is true.
Speaker 11 (33:05):
I mean, he's probably never going to be a pinpoint
accurate quarterback. That's just not who he is. So the
question is can you live with that. The other thing
at play here, and this is specifically to Shane Psyching.
Shane is a detailed guy, and I'm sure the sack
bothered him. I know that the little things that we
(33:26):
maybe don't make a big deal about in practice, they
bother him. Shane is about details, and particularly with his
quarterback making the routine plays. I know that's a big
deal for him. So he doesn't give Anthony a pass
on that stuff. And I think those are the things
that can make this closer than we might think, you know,
or maybe tilted one way or the other, at least
(33:48):
in the coach's head. But I would also say I
think there are other people involved in this decision, So
I'm curious to see what, if any impact that has.
What is the conversation from ownership, What is the conversation
from the general manager. They have different priorities, right, so
I'm very curious to see whether any of that matters
(34:09):
at all.
Speaker 5 (34:09):
You just can't know that right now.
Speaker 4 (34:11):
I I just and this kind of plays and I know,
I hope I'm completely wrong, and Rich you can answer this,
They'll go back to Steve. And I just have thought
all along this quarterback competition wasn't really gonna end up
as the final decision.
Speaker 1 (34:27):
Well, I ain't a quarterback. I said, I thought, yeah,
I said that from day one. I mean, I just
don't think it is you're gonna you're.
Speaker 10 (34:34):
Gonna always be close, you know, and you're you're not
gonna have and unless somebody just laid in a you're
not gonna have enough time. You're not gonna have an objective,
uh standard that you say, well, this is the guy,
so you're gonna have to go what you value as
the best guy against Miami.
Speaker 1 (34:54):
Now.
Speaker 10 (34:55):
I also think, and right now, I'm concerned because we
started out here two weeks ago with what looked like
the best secondary here in decades, and all of a sudden,
it's shaky and it's shaky, and it will hurt because
of what Lou wants to bring here. But I think
if we can somehow get that ready for the opener,
(35:16):
maybe Jones comes back by the opener. I actually looking
at the weapons Adam Mitchell in here, I think this
is a good enough team now that they can play
with a quarterback who doesn't screw it up.
Speaker 11 (35:31):
Steven Yeah, I mean, there's there's definitely an argument for that.
I think I think it's frankly, they're not going to
get an elite quarterback play from probably either guy, and
and part of me thinks, part of me thinks that
you're going to end up in a similar place no
(35:53):
matter who the quarterback is, as long as as long
as the turnovers aren't out of control. Here's what I mean.
If Anthony in plays, I think he will elevate you
at times and then he will hurt you at other times.
If Daniel Jones plays, he will be steadier, but maybe
not with you. And so I just think the net
(36:13):
outcomes quarterbacks elevate them and make the team better and
take the team from good to great. And then you
have quarterbacks or just kind of along for the ride
and maybe hurt sometimes, help sometimes, or are just kind
of like steady Eddie and don't screw it up. As
coach said, I think either of those two guys get
(36:35):
you to the same place. The guys that really make
a difference of the guys in that first category. And
I don't think the cold Tablan is the problem.
Speaker 4 (36:43):
Stevenhilder of ESPN ESPN dot com. He's on the Andy
Moore Automotive Group plot line. I know you gotta get
in here, Steven, to go ahead and get in here.
We'll see you out here. Covering this late afternoon practice. Man,
thanks for hopping on early. All right, you got Steven
Holder on Andy Moore Auto Motive Group plat line. I'm
Rick Venturi back with us right here. Now, you got
to go across the field.
Speaker 1 (37:03):
Is that what you're saying? Yeah?
Speaker 4 (37:05):
Yeah, the point you made about the secondary is a
good one, by the way, too.
Speaker 1 (37:08):
No, no, no, that's look.
Speaker 10 (37:09):
Yes, I mean when I heard Kenny yesterday, you know,
when I saw him go out and at I mean
when we brought in, when we brought in Ward, we
brought in bying him and Cross played really good last
year and Kenny's an outstanding nickel and Wally was just
playing his tail off as the fifth defensive back, and
(37:29):
you know, we were up pressing doing all the things
that Lou wants to change in this defense.
Speaker 1 (37:34):
You know.
Speaker 10 (37:35):
But if you start if you start going down corners
at limits, how much you can do. And that's so
important for this defense. This defense was twenty ninth a
year ago. Okay, let's this is the reality, and for
us to be good, it's going to be really important
for Lou to get this thing up around fifteen. I'm
not asking him to go to the top five. If
(37:56):
he does, that would be real good. But if he
could just get it from twenty ninth up into about fifteenth.
If we can get the qbrs, I mean the reality
of our two quarterbacks, one of them is twenty seventh,
one of them is twenty eighth in QBR. So if
you can get one of them up to fifteen, and
(38:16):
then we are a minus four turnover racial. These are
three numbers to keep in mind. This is what I'm
watching every day out here. If you can get that
turnover ratio instead of minus four up to a plus
six like it was a couple of years ago, all right,
then you go into top ten and you if you
improve those three things to those levels, you can win
(38:38):
the South.
Speaker 1 (38:39):
You believe in what Ana Roumo's doing.
Speaker 10 (38:41):
Oh god, yeah, I just want him to have the
tools that we look like we had three weeks ago. Yeah,
and I've bet the injury to Wally was devastating. One
thing I'll say I'll say about Jones. I had this
conversation with Chris the other day. One thing I know
about Jones is that he will fight you to the
death for sixty minutes. And the more you use press
(39:04):
technique with him, the better he'll be where he can
use that length. It's kind of like basketball pressing, you
you know, if you make him sit back and wait,
like we've done a lot, that takes his tools away
from him.
Speaker 4 (39:17):
Somebody had mentioned to me, and I was going to
ask you this making a comparison with Jones to Gardner
Minshew and how he played.
Speaker 1 (39:26):
Is there a comparison to be made in your opinion? Yeah,
you know, I think there probably is.
Speaker 10 (39:31):
Gardener's a little bit more. Here's how I would say
that there. Gardener's a little bit more of a gunslinger.
Gardner brings a charisma to the game. There's a kind
of a freaky charisma that he brings, and he's a
little bit more of a gun slinger. Danny's more of
a steady He's you know, he's not charismatic, you know,
(39:55):
but you know, that doesn't.
Speaker 1 (39:56):
Win you games.
Speaker 10 (39:57):
What wins you games is decision making and accuracy. And
if you go back, if you just take twenty two,
the season of twenty two in isolation, he threw sixty
seven percent. He was fifteen touchdowns and five interceptions. He
ran seven touchdowns. I mean he led them to a
(40:18):
nine to six and one Okay, so there is a
level of success there that we could find there. They
are similar and you know, Minshew played great here. In
my opinion, I don't know how we ever let him
out the door, to be honest with you, but you know,
I guess it was a few dollars more. But you
know we paid Danny, don't you know. Everybody thinks, well,
(40:41):
you know, you know, it isn't a competition. They didn't
pay him that kind of money. Oh yeah, well, and
I'm the one you're talking to him about here. I
think I thought the competition was more window dressing. Yeah,
oh that's me.
Speaker 1 (40:53):
I don't.
Speaker 4 (40:54):
I mean, I just I can look at fourteen mil
for a quarterback as nothing, especially if he don't have one.
Speaker 10 (40:58):
I think that that ar five, who was the franchise
hope in the face of the franchise, got tarnished a
little bit last year. And in their eyes, if you
notice they in the off season, they didn't say a thing. Now,
all of a sudden there's a move to restore confidence
and to get him back going. But I guarantee you
(41:20):
they didn't pay that money to Daniel Jones to not
come in here and be competitive. Plus with Richardson because
of his style. You need a good back, you need
a good guy that's ready to play.
Speaker 1 (41:32):
I know you've got to get across the field. Thank you,
my brother.
Speaker 10 (41:34):
Right, I punch out that more than talk to you
soon a lot more of the season. Well yeah, oh,
I love those pregames. Oh my god, we'll be on there.
We'll be on their Saturday. I am doing the TV
game Saturday. But well, we'll still do all our pregame.
I I love the pregame. I love it too. Thanks Rick,
all right, Rick Mayturrey. Right now, let's take a quick break.
We'll come back Grand Park and.
Speaker 4 (41:54):
Westfield afternoon practice for the Colts here on a Monday.
Don't go anywhere. It's not he three five one or
seven five. Then the ride with JMV.
Speaker 3 (42:05):
It takes him a second to get on the stool
because he's under five feet tall. Ninety three five and
one oh seven five the fan.
Speaker 4 (42:15):
All right, Mooni's on the show. Coming up a little
bit later on. Alexa Ross of fifty nine is gonna
join us too. I think Value is gonna stop by.
Speaker 1 (42:22):
Hell.
Speaker 4 (42:22):
I don't know who else is going to be here.
We'll do it though. Six o'clock, we roll. Hey, James,
I didn't ask you. Do you have anything to give
away today?
Speaker 12 (42:29):
We do not know what.
Speaker 1 (42:31):
Yeah, we gave away like nineteen different things last week. Yeah,
I know. No Chevelle. No, I just heard the Chevelle
promo right there? What the hell?
Speaker 4 (42:39):
Yacht rock reviews coming up on Saturday night at everwise Amphitheater.
Get a ton of shows coming up at Ruolph just
up the road, Rod Stewart a cheap trick on Saturday night, Aldine,
all you country music fans were out there this past Friday. Hey,
I should also remind you now of this. James would
help me out.
Speaker 1 (42:59):
I don't. We'll make sure I don't mess this up.
Speaker 4 (43:02):
So is it three one seven two three nine ten
seventy where they can send me texts right here?
Speaker 1 (43:07):
Is that true?
Speaker 12 (43:08):
That is correct?
Speaker 4 (43:10):
So it'll come to you right now because I have
not signed up for it yet.
Speaker 1 (43:14):
Correct.
Speaker 12 (43:14):
Uh, yes, that is correct.
Speaker 1 (43:16):
All right.
Speaker 4 (43:16):
Let's see how many people send James a text like,
just say say something mean about me? And I know
you're just joking unless you're not say something mean three
one seven two three nine ten seventy about me to James.
Because I have yet to sign up for this text
(43:40):
thread two three. Fire that up right here, James and
see what we have. I want to see what you
have to say and make sure that you guys are
staying involved. We'll be back here, by the way, coming
up on Thursday with that joint practice with the Packers
downtown on the Colts pregame huddle. Coming up on Saturday
prior to the start of preseason Game two with green
(44:01):
Bay still in town, but an afternoon practice Grand Park
and Westfield. We'll come back. I mentioned alex is gonna
join us in about fifteen minutes. John Nolan, the Voice
of the Fever, coming up as well.
Speaker 1 (44:12):
Don't go anywhere. It's ninety three five one oh seven
five the Fan.
Speaker 3 (44:18):
The ride with JMV in the beat Hooser here in
the Beatozer, ninety three five and one oh seven five
the Fan.
Speaker 1 (44:29):
Hey listen, I don't know what happened.
Speaker 4 (44:31):
We got the secondary table out here dev next time
man beat the hell out of value because I dont
want to sit at this table anymore. Hey, case, come here,
you gave us this table.
Speaker 1 (44:42):
Now the sun's gonna be all over my ass in
a minute. Here. It's a good thing. I'm bronzing. Well,
I'll be all pissy. I know I'm gonna be sitting
on top of your table.
Speaker 4 (44:51):
It's weird because last time I was here, I was
right there, and then you guys are back here. Hey,
Casey Value everybody who's going to join us a little
bit later on? Hey, do we have somebody with disparaging
remarks about the host of this show so far? Three
one seven, two nine, ten seventy With a text message, James.
Speaker 12 (45:10):
We have a lot of messages that have just come out.
Speaker 4 (45:13):
All right, give me some of the give me you
can filter them if you want. If not, that's cool.
Speaker 1 (45:17):
What do you got?
Speaker 13 (45:18):
Uh, Well, there's a lot that I do need to
filter a lot of JMV sucks. I'm seeing a lot
of JMV sucks.
Speaker 12 (45:23):
JMV.
Speaker 4 (45:24):
Did somebody reference my genitalia some a text message?
Speaker 12 (45:27):
Somebody did? Rob says JMV. You're too damn skinny. Your
curves are missed.
Speaker 1 (45:36):
All right, Well, you're in and sift through those. Uh.
Speaker 4 (45:40):
That is our new text process. Three one seven two
three nine ten seventy. Belly Brooks is on hand right here.
The former wide receiver Alex is gonna join us. In
the second on the Andy Moore Automotive Group piline. He
is the voice of the Fever, who may have to
be out there right now trying to find some able
bodies to play point guard considering the circumstances. John Nolan joins, us,
(46:03):
I know the Fever did address that, but yeah, Pickens
probably are becoming a little bit slim, are they not?
As far as the injury concerns of the hardship stuff's
going on.
Speaker 2 (46:14):
Yeah, I'm not sure.
Speaker 14 (46:14):
If maybe Kelly crosscoff Win Dun we're scouting your Sunday
morning hoops game, see if you had any female hoopers
there who are worthy of a seven day hardship contract.
Speaker 1 (46:25):
Yeah. Well, I'm gonna tell you what.
Speaker 4 (46:27):
There're some good players at CG for real right there,
so you can I will I will say this and
this is not a just uh, this is like time
critical for this group right now.
Speaker 1 (46:39):
I mean it really is. I don't know how much
more you can withstand, John.
Speaker 2 (46:42):
Right, Yeah, sonar recap for anyone who admitsed it.
Speaker 14 (46:44):
At the end of last week Thursday Night and Phoenix
lost both Sidney Colton and Aery McDonald's this season. Any
injuries they were handling the point guard bulk with Caitlin
still out of the lineup. So how to play on
Saturday night against Chicago with only nine available players and
literally none of those nine a traditional point guard. It
was a phenomenal job by Sophie Cunningham and Kelsey Mitchell
(47:05):
to really step up handle the ball and you know,
not only win on Saturday night, but it was actually
one of the more convincing victories of the season. Beat
this guy by more than twenty points. And it was
a stipulation with league roster rules that they couldn't sign
anyone until after the game. So then sure, up yesterday
they did sign Odyssey Simms, who spent more than a
decade in the w She's previously been an All Star,
(47:27):
going back getting a little more than a decade ago.
Speaker 2 (47:29):
She was a national champion.
Speaker 14 (47:30):
Bailor, so she's been around the block in the league.
So she brings in a veteran presence, you know, perhaps
some similarities to an Aaron McDonald in terms of her
overall speed and quickness and having a pretty defensive oriented mentality.
I think we just heard from coach Steph White a
little earlier this afternoon following the team's practice, and she
highlighted one of the things that was appealing about signing
(47:54):
Odyssey that over the years, Odyssey has been especially good
in the pick and roll situation. So maybe that's one
thing that they definitely have missed with about Caitlin being
on the court and the dynamic play that she has
with Aliah Boston, perhaps not to the same level, but
here on the fly looking for something like that out
of honesty, Simms, Now.
Speaker 4 (48:14):
Hey, John, I saw how Sidney Colston was injured. Ata's obvious.
I didn't see Aerry McDonald her situation. What happened there?
Speaker 14 (48:23):
Yeah, while sid was yet obvious left knee injury, for
Aria was a right foot injury. And actually, I know
some fans on social media have cut the cliff up
and posted and I mean talking about a warrior mentality.
It wasn't the most obvious in on a play early
fourth quarters Thursday night in Phoenix, but if you look,
(48:43):
if you're looking for it, when you watch the video,
you can see. I mean, it's kind of a weird
situation where Aery took a wrong step for whatnot, and
all of a sudden you could see her grimace in pain,
and yet she finished out both an offensive and a
defensive possession, actually came.
Speaker 2 (48:59):
Up with a stee and drew a foul.
Speaker 14 (49:02):
So, you know, while it's a gut punch situation, everyone
can be really proud of what Airy contributed to the
team did for that matter too over the course of
the year. And now it's to some degree it's a
bit of a rallying cry. Heard players and coaches talk
about how now you know, they want to, you know,
go on and continue to not only get into the playoffs,
but advance in the playoffs and do it for their
teammates who are going to be on.
Speaker 2 (49:23):
The sidelines now.
Speaker 4 (49:25):
As John Nolan joining us, he's on the Eddy Moore
out of motive group, Patla next up, you could hear
him coming up tomorrow Eddie Garrison, What time you guys
tip off tomorrow? I don't have the schedule in front
of me, John.
Speaker 2 (49:36):
Yeah, tomorrow night.
Speaker 14 (49:36):
It's a seven thirty game, and so our pregame coverage
we'll start with Eddie at seven to fifteen Tomorrow is
an ESPN game, but we've got the local coverage here.
Speaker 4 (49:47):
That is well done right there, and it is Dallas
at Gambridge Fieldals. Actually back to back games at Gambridge Fieldhouse. So,
I mean, obviously I thought Chicago came at a good time,
did it not.
Speaker 1 (49:58):
I mean, it's weird the dynamic.
Speaker 4 (50:00):
A year ago, it was that big kind of you know,
Celtics versus Lakers rivalry of sorts brewing last year, and
this year Chicago's awful, I mean absolutely awful. And it's
almost like that you viewed them as something that was
very timely considering the circumstances for the Fever.
Speaker 1 (50:19):
Was it not on Saturday?
Speaker 14 (50:21):
Yes, definitely. And the Beaver has gone their part since
last year and continuing to progress forward. But you're right,
Chicago has arguably regressed, and they've been without Angel.
Speaker 2 (50:31):
Reis, who had been playing better leading.
Speaker 14 (50:32):
Up to the All Star Game, but they have not
been able to overcome her absence, like the Fever have
been able to opt to really overcome missing Caitlin for
extended parts of this season and beyond just having Chicago Saturday. Actually,
this is the cushiest part of the schedule, and really
the last cushy part of the schedule. Dallas is a
team down there with Chicago and the standings.
Speaker 2 (50:54):
They've dropped five in a row.
Speaker 14 (50:56):
Dallas has actually traded away a couple of their veteran pieces.
There's been different types of turmoil with their team this year,
so can't take them for granted because Page Beckers is
immediately one of the top players in the league and.
Speaker 2 (51:12):
So they're capable.
Speaker 14 (51:13):
They've beaten the New York Liberty this year, but you
like your odds against Dallas at home, and then looking
ahead Friday will be hosting Washington the Mystics or another
team that has traded away talented veterans, essentially not really
looking to make a run this year, and then jumping
further ahead Sunday on the road at Connecticut. They have
(51:33):
the worst record in the w this season. That says
the Fever did drop one of their first teams without
Caitlin against Connecticut. So it feels like a stretcher this
week where it got to take care of business because
looming after that they still have three games left against
the top team in the league in Minnesota.
Speaker 4 (51:51):
Yeah, and I mentioned this is John Nollen's the voice
of the Fever on the Eddy Morrol on a Botive group.
Lot I felt there was a stretch that this was
prior to the La Sparks game. Actually had to eat
some words, which is not a rarity if you've listened
to this show before, about the Sparks and then the Mercury,
I had suggested that without Caitlin Clark, and you know,
it was the dynamic that was going on that I
(52:12):
had felt the Fever looked much better defensively, and then
against the Sparks and the Mercury, simply put, they did not.
Speaker 1 (52:19):
So I think that kind of squashed that.
Speaker 4 (52:21):
When when you see this team better defensively, is it
all a part of the equation just who they're playing?
Are they better defensively against teams that aren't offensively that great?
Is that just where this team is on that side
of the ball right now.
Speaker 14 (52:37):
One thing that the Fever have done a good job
but for the most part roughout year, is defending the
three point line. And going into that game against LA
last week, they were actually number one in the league
in terms of allowing the few at threes and also
had the lowest three point shooting percentage against. And I
feel like to some degree there's a little bit of
randomness to it, like they had back to back games
(52:59):
where their opponent only made two threes and frankly missed
some open looks. Dallas was one of those teams, and
then all of a sudden, you play La and they've
got a stretch post Azare Stevens, who goes five for
five from three. You know, the reality is they're probably
somewhere in between that not giving up someone you know,
career night and also not seeing teams have you know,
(53:20):
the worst performances of their season shooting. But they do
make a habit of really trying to pressure on the
perimeter and take away those open three point looks. I
think what you saw towards the end of that road
trip was just fatigue with the schedule catching up to them,
where they had a stretch of six games in eleven
days and five different cities, three different time zones, you know.
Speaker 2 (53:40):
So I think you know, as you.
Speaker 14 (53:42):
Know from playing, when you get tired and suffer to
close out on those shooters, and all of a sudden,
I think snowballs for them in those two games.
Speaker 4 (53:50):
So John Nolan, he's only anymore out of one of group.
Paul Line talking a little hoop right here. I know
you you mentioned Stephanie White, I think talked a little
bit earlier today. We have any thought about the return
of Kaylen Clark. I know nobody out there right now
is holding their breath, but totally crap. Is that necessary?
Speaker 2 (54:11):
Yes, certainly, And so she was asked for.
Speaker 14 (54:13):
An update on Caitlin and it's, you know, kind of
just and sort of the mystery of her return. One
of the things that we were told a few weeks
ago once this k Broin injury popped up, was that
they wanted to make sure she was going to have
more than adequate time to ramp up, including being able
to practice with the team before being thrust into game action.
(54:35):
And so at this point, Caitlyn had still not returned
officially to practicing with the team.
Speaker 2 (54:41):
She's at practices, she's.
Speaker 14 (54:42):
Doing individual workouts. I guess the latest thing for her
is that she is running full court part of building
up her insurance to be able to go in practices
and then in games.
Speaker 2 (54:52):
But she had not.
Speaker 14 (54:53):
Returned to practicing with the team yet. And so we
really have to wait until we hear that she's practicing
with the team before you can start to think, oh,
is she going to be a game time decision or
anything like that.
Speaker 4 (55:05):
Yeah, it seems a long way away still at this point,
doesn't At John Well.
Speaker 14 (55:12):
I mentioned the schedule coming up here this week following
Sunday's game at Connecticut. It's the only time all year,
not counting the All Star Break, where they'll be off
next Monday through Thursday without a game, so you figure
you get multiple practices in there. So fingers crossed this
things continues to progress for her and she's able to
sort of take the step by step ramp up, maybe
(55:35):
that following game a week from Friday to twenty second
against Minnesota. But I mean, honestly, again, you don't want
to rush it. You can't be affected by the injuries
that it happens here. You got to treat it as
it don't isolating the situation, you know, for for her
best interest, for the team's best interest for this year,
and you know the long term future.
Speaker 4 (55:56):
Lexi Hall come out of down the shell a little bit,
go kind of through a bit of a funk. We
see her fix that a little bit on Saturday evening.
Speaker 14 (56:05):
Yeah, so Alexi, you in summarizing for her, she really
had a break through a season last year, wound up
ranking second in the league in three point shooting, and
then picked up where she left off the.
Speaker 2 (56:15):
First half this season.
Speaker 14 (56:17):
You know, got Caitlin spot for the WNBA three point
Shootout as part of the All Star festivities at the
field House, and then sort of coming out of the
All Star break coincidentally, she was definitely in a shooting
swump and she had actually gotten three consecutive games without
making a three. There was one game where she had
started off there in Phoenix. Both between twos and three
(56:38):
she was zero for ten from the field, and yet
definitely Saturday night was a nice comeback kind of game
for her. She was perfect from three, She made four
to threes at a season high in scoring. And one
thing to make sure that to point out though with
Alexi is that to her credit, she's the type of
player even when she's going through a shooting slump, she's
still arguably the best defensive play on the team, and
(57:01):
it's someone who's not sulking and putting the head down.
She was still, you know, performing at the same level
defensively for this group and still being a great teammate.
I was just one of those frustrating things where you know,
she felt like she had the right process but wasn't
getting the results of seeing the ball go through the net.
Finally was able to see that happen and smile in
(57:21):
that big win on Saturday. You don't go through, John though, Right, Well,
I don't know any texts were about your shooting.
Speaker 4 (57:31):
Hey, James, did anybody make fun of me playing basketball
in any of those texts?
Speaker 13 (57:36):
Yes, somebody said you couldn't make a layup with the
four foot wide rim. Someone was insulting your jump shot.
But I have lost the message, so I'm not sure
where it went.
Speaker 1 (57:46):
Man.
Speaker 4 (57:48):
I'm glad. I don't know if I remember gonna sign
up for this, and I'm just joking. I'm the one
that asked for it. So it's it's all good, right there. Nah, John,
It's it's true.
Speaker 1 (57:56):
And no doubt about it. It is true.
Speaker 4 (57:59):
If you still play one of these days, much like
James Boyd has witnessed, you shall have.
Speaker 1 (58:04):
To join us and check it out for yourself.
Speaker 5 (58:08):
Yeah.
Speaker 14 (58:08):
I'm down to lace it up and get the work.
Speaker 4 (58:12):
Can fort Wayne guys play?
Speaker 2 (58:15):
Hey?
Speaker 14 (58:15):
You know I've been trading with Max Landis.
Speaker 4 (58:18):
So oh yeah, well, I still look at him. He's
from our cross. You know, we've had Max Landis a
professional for so many years overseas in Portugal. Dylan Windler,
you know, clearly has has spent time in the NBA.
I think you playing overseas now, Brooks Barnheiser in the NBA.
(58:42):
Now with Oklahoma City, we're a pretty good proving ground
to play professionally. I think our group on the South
Side really good proving ground.
Speaker 14 (58:50):
Well i'll spoil that part, but down to have a
good time.
Speaker 1 (58:55):
You got it, brother, I appreciate that. John, thanks for
coming on.
Speaker 14 (58:58):
All right, make sure he gets sun Street on there.
Speaker 2 (59:01):
Don't burn all right?
Speaker 4 (59:02):
Ah man, it looks so I'm ten and looking good
right now, John Lucky, I've got this V neck.
Speaker 1 (59:08):
White T shirt all the way that it is.
Speaker 4 (59:10):
John Nola, Voice of the Faver Tomorrow Night, seven thirty
Tip times seven to fifteen. I think you mentioned with
Eddie Garrison right here on the fan with the pregame show,
they are out practicing right now when we have people
watching it. Somebody that's not paying an ounce of attention
because she is joining this show at Grant Park in Westfield.
Speaker 1 (59:30):
But this calls afternoon.
Speaker 4 (59:31):
Practice, Alexa Ross, you think your bosses are happy to
hear that she's not paying an ounce of attention to
what is going on because she is involved in this show.
Speaker 15 (59:41):
You know what they're not.
Speaker 9 (59:43):
They have they just split into position groups. I think
we're fine. I think we're I think we're fine. I
think we were stretching, we were warming up.
Speaker 1 (59:49):
I think yeah, I think.
Speaker 15 (59:50):
We're probably fine.
Speaker 4 (59:51):
Look at everybody watching now. They're acting like and full
the tail that they're watching right there.
Speaker 1 (59:55):
How are you? Joel A.
Speaker 15 (59:56):
Rickson walking by with his notepad. That's how you know it.
Speaker 1 (59:58):
We've officially of the day the notepad. So how are you?
Speaker 9 (01:00:02):
I'm great, I'm happy to be here, happy to be
back on the show, and happy it's not Chris Hagen.
Speaker 15 (01:00:08):
And I hope you not text about him as well.
Speaker 9 (01:00:11):
And I encourage text about Chris Hagen to come in
because I would say all this to his face if
he were here.
Speaker 1 (01:00:17):
Three to one.
Speaker 4 (01:00:18):
So see, this is gonna hurt his feelings right here.
He didn't talk to talk to me for a month.
That's just somebody. Well, this is years ago posted a
picture with his mouth open taking a bite of steak
at Sullivan Steakhouse and he didn't talk to me for
a month over that he was mad.
Speaker 1 (01:00:32):
Well, I couldn't take it down.
Speaker 15 (01:00:35):
Yes, that seems like a hymn problem.
Speaker 4 (01:00:36):
So three, one, seven, two, nine, ten, seventy is the
new text thread. Alexa Ross can say that she wants
you to drop some things about Hagen in there. Please
do so drop things about Hagen in there, James, let
us know when there are substantial responses about Chris Hagen
(01:00:57):
A Fox fifty nine.
Speaker 1 (01:00:58):
What are you noticing out here? Right now?
Speaker 9 (01:01:00):
Right here, we're backed right up to offensive linemen, so
we are.
Speaker 15 (01:01:05):
This is not a group.
Speaker 9 (01:01:06):
I've paid admittedly a ton of attention to this camp.
Speaker 1 (01:01:10):
Because it's boring. I'm not going to say that my
dad was, I must say over her to hear me.
Speaker 15 (01:01:15):
You can you can say that that's fine.
Speaker 9 (01:01:17):
I think that I've been really interested in every any
pass catcher that we've we've had out there deal and
two of the three guys who have impressed me the
most just about just through this camp and what they've
been able to do are Adie Mitchell and Tyler Warren.
But I know that I'm not the first person to
say that, and I'm sure I won't be the last one.
Speaker 4 (01:01:35):
And part of it, too, Alexi is we've we've heard
this story before about Adie Mitchell, so hopefully it can
finally be the truth. But until it translates to the
regular season, you're going to have non believers.
Speaker 1 (01:01:47):
And that's what you have right now, exactly.
Speaker 9 (01:01:48):
And there's there's there's no prizes for being great in
camp besides making a roster, right, you know, And he
was probably pretty comfortably there. You know, he now has
to take all of this and this consistency that he's
been able to put forth and take it into the
season because otherwise, you know, he's going to get the
same reaction and we're going to have the same conversation
(01:02:09):
of oh, those are the ten guys who were the
ten receivers draft before me and all that fun stuff.
Speaker 1 (01:02:14):
So mine's probably over there some more. I don't have mine.
I don't really care.
Speaker 4 (01:02:19):
Well, I don't know just what name's on there right
theret me.
Speaker 15 (01:02:25):
Can I see that man that's an named John.
Speaker 4 (01:02:27):
Solomon Wilcotts, Anthony Herron or Tom Kress.
Speaker 1 (01:02:32):
I'm gonna be Tom Cress. Can I be Tom Kress?
Speaker 10 (01:02:34):
No?
Speaker 1 (01:02:34):
It's not me. Oh, I can't have it. Who's Tom Kress?
Speaker 9 (01:02:38):
I don't know, but he works for serious I should
take that, should take that, you should take that?
Speaker 4 (01:02:42):
How much jobs better than hell? I don't want to
be on serious. My job is better than that, Tom Cress. Now,
I know I'm not Solomon Wilcotts. I know because I
just saw Solomon Willcotts out there. So I can't have
one of those, all right, Tim, I was going to
take it. I'll be Tom Kress for an afternoon. I've
not picked up my credential yet, so clearly, yeah, they
(01:03:02):
just say, hey, go ahead and go in.
Speaker 15 (01:03:03):
She was really upset. Yeah, she was very upset.
Speaker 4 (01:03:06):
She learned me to Tom kra You want me to
be Tom Krass. I think for a moment right there.
Speaker 15 (01:03:10):
She was really concerned that we were because we were live, all.
Speaker 4 (01:03:13):
Right, So we get the offensive line in front of
us right now. There is some more going on here,
as you can tell the background with Colts practice going on,
actually the second to last the joint practice with the Packers.
We're going to be back coming up on Thursday afternoon.
Speaker 1 (01:03:27):
Here.
Speaker 4 (01:03:27):
Outside of the whole quarterback thing, you talked about the
offense and the pass catchers, what else has stood out
to you about this Campella.
Speaker 9 (01:03:34):
I mean, Tyler Warren, you can't say enough good things
about Ki kid, You really can't. And I think that
anytime you have the conversation in the draft process of
oh is it going to be one guy or this
other guy? You have the Colston Loveland of it all,
and you have the Tyler Warren of it all. I
think Colts fans should be pleased, at least as of
right now with what was picked. There's a lot of consistency.
And not only is there the consistency, but there's also
(01:03:56):
the ability to both catch and block. You have a
guy who you're an entire college offense ran through last season.
Of course that's going to be the you know, the
big draw for him, right, But he can still block,
he can still set things up, which is going to
be huge for this backfield and especially with these mobile
and mobile adjacent quarterbacks.
Speaker 1 (01:04:17):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, you hope, you hope, yeah yeah. You
really don't know what you see.
Speaker 4 (01:04:21):
And I mean we were having that kind of debate
a little bit earlier with Steven Holder Rick Van Suri
in our number one and I've always been of the
opinion of, okay, it's a quarterback competition. Great, but I
thought all along was going to be a four goone
conclusion that Richardson was going to get the start, and
in part because you know that at some point he's
(01:04:42):
going to come out anyway because he's going to be injured,
you know, regardless of being effective ineffective, at some point,
he's just not going to have availability, and then you're
going to see Jones. I just thought all along that
was going to be a part of the equation, and
Rick disagreed with it. Rick said, hey, you know, they
brought him in for like fourteen million dollars.
Speaker 1 (01:04:58):
That's a lot of.
Speaker 4 (01:04:59):
Money to pay, But is that a lot of my time? No,
not for a quarterback. I didn't think.
Speaker 9 (01:05:03):
So.
Speaker 4 (01:05:03):
I just thought, and that's why he's here because he
was available for that amount. He's trying to reclaim a
starting spot here, and this was his best path to
try to do it because you knew you were probably
going to get a significant chance at some point to
play here.
Speaker 15 (01:05:21):
So well, it was bleak in New York.
Speaker 9 (01:05:24):
There's nothing There's nothing I can say more than it
was bleak without there being a problem on this radio show,
because it's just it was a disaster and a guy
like Brian Dable, you know, who did what he did
in Buffalo to then get this head coaching position, to
have it all fall apart, around this guy who they
overpaid too quickly. They overpaid for Daniel Jones too quickly.
(01:05:48):
He had one great playoff game and then they had
to deal with it and here we are now and
now Daniel Johns.
Speaker 4 (01:05:54):
But others will argue that maybe it was the parts
that were and I know that you're a Philly girl,
but I tell.
Speaker 1 (01:06:00):
People that, I'm going to tell you.
Speaker 15 (01:06:01):
Everybody knows it's fine.
Speaker 1 (01:06:02):
But no, I think you also argue that there was
parts around.
Speaker 4 (01:06:06):
See, that's why I think it's different for these guys
here because I think you mentioned, you know, Tyler Warren
and what you expect out of him as a rookie
as a weapon. I think their wide receivers are getting better.
You have Jonathan Taylor, which clearly at that position is
one of the best. Your offensive line, you know, left tackle,
left guard, right tackle should be good. I'm just thinking
(01:06:29):
there's a lot more here to work with than it
felt like he ever had with the Giants. For sure,
across the board, even you know, you know obviously with
you know what they brought in, with what my league
neighbors a year ago, who's incredibly talented.
Speaker 15 (01:06:42):
So we'll see on Saturday.
Speaker 9 (01:06:43):
I mean he's getting the first run with the Ones,
So that's a lot of questions hopefully should be answered.
I don't know if Jonathan Taylor will play head coach
Tins and says there's you know, there's possibility that he plays,
but they have a plan quote unquote for the big
name starter, So I don't know if we'll see him.
Speaker 1 (01:06:58):
What are we going to see you?
Speaker 15 (01:07:00):
Where are you gonna see me?
Speaker 9 (01:07:01):
You're gonna see me on CBS four in box fifty
nine and approximately forty minutes forty minutes.
Speaker 4 (01:07:07):
On CBS four and Fox fifty nine. That is Alexa Ross, James,
we got any comments regarding Hagen? Come on at three one,
seven seventy.
Speaker 12 (01:07:17):
I am not seeing any right now.
Speaker 1 (01:07:19):
No, terrible, no, NY, I'm on.
Speaker 15 (01:07:22):
I can't text them.
Speaker 8 (01:07:23):
On the show man.
Speaker 1 (01:07:25):
Do we have more about me? Howbuy? Do we have
a lot to me?
Speaker 12 (01:07:27):
We have a lot about you?
Speaker 1 (01:07:29):
Oh, a lot of them.
Speaker 12 (01:07:30):
I can't really say on air, A lot we.
Speaker 4 (01:07:34):
Really can't say on air. That is, in essence what
this show is about. A lot that we can't say
on air. Hey, Alexa, good to see you, thanks for coming.
Speaker 15 (01:07:41):
By, Thanks for having me, John, Alexa Ross.
Speaker 4 (01:07:43):
So they I should say they adny More Automotive Group Pauline,
but she is your live at Camp and Westfield. We're
here at Grand Park. We'll come back get a lot
more for you, including Mooney Shavarius Ward, the free agent
impact from the Secondary is going to join us to
the end of the show too. Hey, don't go anywhere.
We are live at Grand Park. Ninety three to five,
(01:08:05):
one h seven five a fan.
Speaker 3 (01:08:09):
The ride with JMV.
Speaker 4 (01:08:11):
This situation absolutely requires a really futile and stupid gesture
be done on somebody's part.
Speaker 1 (01:08:22):
We're just the guys to do it.
Speaker 3 (01:08:23):
In ninety three to five and one oh seven five
the fan.
Speaker 1 (01:08:28):
Damn right.
Speaker 4 (01:08:29):
I was just thinking that the JAMV Takeover music is
a thousand times better than this, James. You think if
I ran down there and like slid in an hour
of the JAMV Takeover that they would be appreciative of that,
because I think they need.
Speaker 12 (01:08:42):
That live from cults. That would be awesome.
Speaker 1 (01:08:44):
This is not hyping up anybody right here.
Speaker 12 (01:08:46):
Yeah, I think they can use your help.
Speaker 1 (01:08:48):
Yeah, sounds like we're rolling around.
Speaker 4 (01:08:51):
Sounds like I'm rolling around in Green County back in
nineteen eighty seven and somebody's got a Craco car stereo
with a couple of sub wolfers in.
Speaker 1 (01:08:58):
The trunk right here rattling the trunk.
Speaker 4 (01:09:02):
Yeah, I think that that may And listen, when you're
not doing well coming out of camp and you're losing
games and you're missing tackling, cackles and things, and that's what.
Speaker 1 (01:09:12):
We're obviously I'm in ingest with that.
Speaker 4 (01:09:16):
But a lot of what I'm talking about right now
is what Rick Venturia and I talked about a little
bit earlier. When you do things in camp and you
lead up to the end of camp and it takes
you so long to get going, and I'm talking about
things like turnovers, mistackles, miscues, lack of execution, and then
(01:09:45):
ultimately losing, which has been a forte of this group
in the early season, especially in week number one. You
would think a change of pace, whatever that change of
pace is, it doesn't really I mean, hell, you could
be playing Luke Bryant tunes out here if you want,
you can play a little.
Speaker 1 (01:10:06):
Bach out here.
Speaker 4 (01:10:07):
But whatever changes it up would be for the better
because whatever has been going on around here.
Speaker 1 (01:10:16):
Simply put, has not worked. We all know that.
Speaker 4 (01:10:20):
So that's my first thought in mind in fact, the
action is right across from me right now, Greg raiks
were all asked me if I was going to do
a little bit of play by play. I'm probably not
going to do a little bit of play by play
for you, but I will tell you right now that
the offense working against the defense, actually with the offense
deep in its own territory right now, as that is
(01:10:41):
ongoing in front of us, and it is Daniel Jones
at the home right now getting a little bit of
work in. So we are observing that with practice, and
these are the final two days, he's going deep right here.
I'm sure as hell can't see what happened because the
tents in the way right here, it look like something
good happen because now the offense is spretting down the
(01:11:02):
field like something good just happened. So I'm sure that's
going to be documented here on social media platform X
in just a second for you all.
Speaker 1 (01:11:10):
But now it's out of my line of sight.
Speaker 4 (01:11:13):
I mentioned too, this practice and then the joint practice
with the packers here at Grand Park and Westfield is
basically all that there is going to be left. And
then you know after that, that's that. So a couple
of times want I guess, including this one if you
want to jump out here right now, but coming up
on Thursday. I think Thursday, I'd have to check. I'd
(01:11:35):
heard that maybe that was sold out, but I don't
know that for sure. And obviously that will be extremely
popular with the packers being a part of the joint practice.
Anybody's going to be popular, but with the packers that
will make it.
Speaker 1 (01:11:48):
Even more popular. I mentioned this a little bit earlier too.
Speaker 4 (01:11:52):
We now have your opportunity with a text stream.
Speaker 1 (01:12:00):
Now.
Speaker 4 (01:12:00):
The only thing I know about this is I have
yet to sign up for it, and I think it's
something we have to sign up for, so it'll probably
take me a month, but we have to sign up
for it. And this is where you can text us
immediately with whatever you want to say.
Speaker 1 (01:12:17):
Now you know this to be true.
Speaker 4 (01:12:19):
I am a caller intensive person here, like I want
the communication at two three, nine ten seventy. I want
to yact at you like that. That's how we want it.
But there is also a way. And I'm assuming I'm
thinking the lounge is going to go away, but the
Triple A membership text is.
Speaker 1 (01:12:40):
Going to end up taking over.
Speaker 4 (01:12:43):
I don't mind either, one, but certainly once I sign
up for the text, I'll probably see all those. But
you can do that now text us at three one seven, two,
three nine, ten seventy. As of now you can see
through the eyeballs of James back of the studio and
he'll tell me exactly what is going on, if that
(01:13:06):
makes sense to you. But it is a text thread
that we will see if you text to three one
seven two three nine ten seventy, and I will see
it once I end up signing up for it. So
that's what's going on right now, and I'm assuming we'll
take that into being brought to you by Triple A
as well and become a Triple A member today.
Speaker 1 (01:13:26):
You know how important that is.
Speaker 4 (01:13:27):
If you've been out to Ruleolf, if you went out
on Saturday night for Cheap Trick and Rod Stewart or
Jason al Dean this past Friday night, you know it
to be true. Man, Triple A is such a great
way to get perks out there. And we all love perks,
don't we. There's Anthony Richardson sliding to the left side
and running out of bounds right there. We all love
(01:13:48):
the perks, whether it's early entry into the lawn or
whether you want to check out what's going on inside
the premiere lounge.
Speaker 1 (01:13:56):
It all works for you right there. It really does.
Speaker 4 (01:13:58):
Become a Triple A member today plays the fact that
it can help you out on the road. Twenty four
seven three six' five that Is TRIPLE. A become A
TRIPLE a. Member do that. TODAY bt writes, This remember
when you, said, yes The colts need the hype man, Exactly,
(01:14:19):
yeah The colts aren't doing too much to fire up the.
Fans i'm telling you the hypeman stuff. WORKS i think
everybody needs a hype, man but especially when you have, struggled,
right everybody Needs we have some famous hype man out,
there but when you, struggle you especially need that.
Speaker 1 (01:14:36):
Bet tim writes THIS.
Speaker 4 (01:14:39):
Jmv people have to realize that just because a guy
had results in one place doesn't mean he's going to
bring these results with. Him curious how Many Pro bowl
offensive lineman was in front Of Daniel jones In New
york And tim brings up What Rick ventury was talking.
About Rick ventury is on board With Daniel. Jones Now
(01:15:00):
i'm on board with whoever's best for the. Situation but
WHAT i haven't been on board with is a deeply
rooted believer in this so called quarterback. COMPETITION i think
that is going to be And i've thought this all
along that outside of something stratisferic, happening that it was
going to Be Anthony richardson all. Along, Now rick brought
(01:15:23):
up a good point a little bit. Earlier there's not
much of an opportunity for you to do that much
or if there is a huge gap between one guy
and the, other for the other to make up that,
ground there's not that much of an opportunity to do
that because you just don't get.
Speaker 1 (01:15:45):
The reps and it's not like it used to.
Speaker 4 (01:15:47):
Be and WHILE i recognize, THAT i just think that
it will have to be just an eye popping, difference
whether we're talking about what they're going through right now
with this practice, time and then especially coming up On
thursday and On, saturday if this truly is a quarterback,
competition that's WHEN i think this whole thing.
Speaker 1 (01:16:10):
Is going to matter.
Speaker 4 (01:16:10):
Most now we'll double back To thursday with the lack
of the, read which everybody brings up right, now the
lack of the read and taking the sack and the
dislocated pinky For Anthony, Richardson DO i think that leaves
a mark With Shane steichen and the coaching, Staff, absolutely
(01:16:30):
because it seems to be always something and at some
point it can no longer be about because that's Something
Stephen holder argued a little bit earlier on the other,
side you, know you have to give him. Reps you
have to see at what point do you just decide
(01:16:52):
what we have?
Speaker 1 (01:16:52):
Seen is it all?
Speaker 4 (01:16:54):
Right that's. It this is just who this guy. Is
And i've said this all. ALONG i came to that
conclusion last, year this is who this person. Is, well
wait a, minute he's been injured and he's had a
battle through. This there is always, something and it just
seems like in this, age this, era if you've been
around any professional sports for such a long, time it
(01:17:16):
is tough to be what, Again you've already established yourself
to be and you're gonna, say, well wait a. Minute
people bring Up Baker mayfield all the. Time, well, granted
While Baker mayfield has been, Good i'd like to think
that maybe that there's something out there one of these
days that's going to be better Than Baker. Mayfield Like
i'm not like penning my hopes and dreams on one
(01:17:37):
of these guys end up Being Baker, mayfield BECAUSE i
think that there's going to be more to it than.
Speaker 1 (01:17:43):
That SO i drew that conclusion a year.
Speaker 4 (01:17:46):
Ago YET i understood that this organization was still going
to give him a substantial a substantial place to work
and to. Show and that's what my conclusion has. Been
But Rick venturi clearly has Seen Daniel. Jones it would
Trust Daniel. Jones, now, hey the other side of this
(01:18:07):
as well is you've got a head coach and especially
a general. Manager you've got a coaching staff that you've
got jobs on the line right, Here so you really
can't afford to, say, well if you trust one guy
over the, other and especially if one guy has given
you substantial reasons over the prior two years not to
really invest a great deal of trust in, him and
(01:18:28):
there's always something, wrong there's always something going, on then you, know,
ultimately maybe to save your own, ash you better put
the best product out to the best man for the
job out.
Speaker 1 (01:18:40):
There that Was rick's point a little bit. Earlier if
you missed.
Speaker 4 (01:18:42):
Any of that To puss dot, com we shall take a,
break we will come. Back Mooney ward is going to
join us our various war the free agent pickup back
in the spring by The, colts a guy that played In,
frisco a guy that has been really good so. Far
at the other point we talked about that we really
haven't expressed too much are.
Speaker 1 (01:19:01):
Played off of too often so?
Speaker 4 (01:19:02):
Far is the dinged up secondary and how problematic that
could be from what you had witnessed early in camp
With Jalen, jones what we know to be just the
constant With Juju brents and then the whole walleygh injury
which ended his. Season as of last, week what was
(01:19:24):
a you had depth and what was a solid? Category
maybe not so much where it stands right. Now But
mooney's going to join, us coming up at the five o'clock.
Hour we are live out here At Colt's, Camp Westfield Grand,
park the first of two days this. Week On, thursday
we'll be back for the joint gathering with The packers
(01:19:45):
and The colts out. Here but today it is a
straight up practice And mooney joins us coming up at
the five o'clock.
Speaker 1 (01:19:51):

Hundred phillies sixty eight and forty. Nine that's In. Cincy

(01:20:54):
From Saint louis coming up at seven forty five that
is later on. TONIGHT i don't think The cups play
coming up until. Tomorrow they have the day off and
get back at it coming up. Tomorrow but interesting weekend
by The red did start out well against The, pirates
but certainly ended much.
Speaker 1 (01:21:13):
Better The cops north of The border coming up.
Speaker 4 (01:21:15):
Tomorrow not an interleague series starting at seven oh seven,
again that's tomorrow. Night it is The cubs matched up
against The Toronto Blue. Jays we were talking To John,
nolan The voice of The fever a little bit early
on the, show the podcast on that one oh seven
fivefan dot com the eight and twenty Four Dallas.
Speaker 1 (01:21:35):
Wings so that's one of those situations we had talked.
Speaker 4 (01:21:37):
About this team has been been good against teams like.
That i'll give you a great, example like The sparks
haven't been, good and The sparks have had ownership for
whatever reason of The. Fever, however a team like The,
wings The fever played much better against four games about five,
hundred eighteen and fourteen back on the winning, track and
(01:22:00):
that matchup Against chicago this Past saturday.
Speaker 1 (01:22:03):
Night still not gonna hold your.
Speaker 4 (01:22:06):
Breath for the return Of Kaitlyn, clark and you got
a team that is really looking for anybody at the
point guard position right now to keep him going because,
yeah you Know aaron McDonald that, situation know about the
situation With Sidney. COLSON i will say, This Kelsey mitchell
(01:22:26):
had the normal offensive output that you would expect On
saturday and also distributed to the tune of eight, assists
and really that is what is necessary for this, team
but you just kind of count the minutes Until Caitlin
clark hopefully gets. BACK i know there are a lot
of people wondering right now whether or not she's ever
(01:22:50):
going to get, back which is problematic right, There you
had no question about.
Speaker 1 (01:22:55):
That, HEY. Jmv it was great to see you AT sids.

Sun he's on the. Sidelines and then he walks up
to the steps and announces what the next thing of practice.
Speaker 1 (01:30:43):
Is oh does he Really OH i didn't know he.
Did oh, yeah he's, busy busy. Man. Wow so he's
probably sweated it up at.
Speaker 16 (01:30:48):
It, yeah so he wants to come in here and
get a little airflow and not be in the direct.
Speaker 1 (01:30:51):
Sun so that's why what.
Speaker 4 (01:30:52):
IF i missed out, There I've i've had this like
window of, view, yeah of about twenty yards here on
this side of the.
Speaker 1 (01:30:58):
Field that's.
Speaker 16 (01:30:59):
It, yeah so if we're we're, looking they're essentially going
away from you on every. Drill BUT i think it's
been it's been a lot of team periods, today so
a little bit more like A i can't forget what
terminology That shane, used but a little bit more like
scrimmage based, stuff so situational and team. Periods we SAW
i think our fourth interception of, camp which it's been
(01:31:19):
a pretty clean as far as turnovers, go But Anthony
richardson did throw interception picked up By Sharvarius.
Speaker 1 (01:31:25):
Ward SO i believe you're going to.
Speaker 16 (01:31:28):
Getting moody in a little. Bit so he has another,
interception he'd.
Speaker 1 (01:31:31):
Say, hey, man what are you trying? To you trying
to screw with the quarterback. Here, yeah there you, go
way a blank up the starting quarterback. Moon, yeah but.
Speaker 16 (01:31:38):
Buddy but for the most, part it's, been, uh you,
know we've seen some good and you, know there's been
ups and, downs kind of like what you expect out.
Speaker 1 (01:31:45):
Here the defense has won a handful of.
Speaker 16 (01:31:46):
Snaps BUT i think we Saw Jonathan taylor rip off
a long run.
Speaker 1 (01:31:49):
And everybody got excited about.
Speaker 4 (01:31:51):
That Alec pearce is notting he's got a, groin so he's,
yeah so he's on the sidelines of the growing in
and So Ady mitchell is taking his reps.
Speaker 16 (01:32:02):
There he did make one play deep down the. Sideline
so it's been you, know ups and.
Speaker 1 (01:32:06):
Downs, yeah It's casey value with.
Speaker 4 (01:32:09):
Us by the, way if you're Watching TRIPLE a membership
blog v, YouTube blow have a new stream text message
system at three one, seven, two three nine ten seventy
if you would like to get involved in. That you
guys have a way that people can get to you
outside of social.
Speaker 1 (01:32:24):
Media, yeah it's about it.
Speaker 16 (01:32:25):
REALLY i, MEAN i know THAT Jj stankowitz does a
mail bag for his, Podcast The The Cult show that
is On. Thursdays he does kind of like a mail
bag section that you can you, know email. Him but
outside of that to get in charge Of matt AND,
i it's Really. Twitter you, KNOW i don't USE i
don't Use facebook Or instagram very.
Speaker 1 (01:32:45):
Much So twitter's about. It. REALLY i don't GET i
don't get many people asking for. Much no, critiques no,
nothing nothing at. All.
Speaker 16 (01:32:53):
Nothing. Wow i'm more of a voyeur if you. Will On,
TWITTER i don't post very. MUCH i just you got.
Speaker 4 (01:32:59):
It you got a hell of a, Gig bill because
you get to do all the shows and they need
to do the pregame and neither.
Speaker 1 (01:33:04):
Halftime, yeah and then you don't have to stay for the.
Postgame well that's. Changing oh you got to stay for.
That that's.
Speaker 16 (01:33:09):
Changing So bill AND, I So i'm hosting this year
what's Called Instant reaction that you can find On colts
dot com and all your all your podcast.
Speaker 1 (01:33:16):
CHANNELS i stand. Corrected bill AND i are.
Speaker 16 (01:33:19):
Going to record that following his postgame duties on Home
games And.
Speaker 1 (01:33:22):
Roadway would you agree to do? That, well because here's the.
Thing what happens is you have to wait because it's With.
Speaker 16 (01:33:27):
Bill so you gotta wait Till bill gets off the
air from his postgame show drives, home so typically you're
like four hours after the game before you're doing. It
So i'm, like, hey let's just let's just streamline, this
get this thing over while we're both. There in that,
way we can hit the pavement and not worry about.
Anything i'm, like how does this?
Speaker 1 (01:33:41):
Last is it? Quick about half? Hour? Oh that's not?
Yah short and? Sweet.
Speaker 4 (01:33:44):
Yeah, See i'm just thinking about in terms Of Greg,
reikstraw that guy where you got to be there until
all hours of the.
Speaker 16 (01:33:52):
NIGHT i MEAN i WAS i filled in For greg
this past weekend AND i wondered about that.
Speaker 1 (01:33:57):
Too, yes four four four pm we started our.
Speaker 4 (01:34:00):
Preseason game one post got get that one time AND i,
thought this sucks so.
Speaker 1 (01:34:04):
Bad it's a call in.
Speaker 16 (01:34:05):
Show we got one call to open the show and
that was. It so a lot of bill AND i.
Speaker 1 (01:34:11):
Sounds like a Request Saturday night With Dave smiley right.
There you, know one call and that's gonna be. It
i'm just. Joking, hey by the, way shout out to
a good Friend Dave.
Speaker 4 (01:34:20):
Smiley AND i think everybody KNOWS i Love Dave smiley
a great. DEAL i believe his show got nominated for A.
Marconi oh. Wow and it's not one of those jokes
of awards like the spectrums are out. Here it's like
a legitimate. AWARD i know my Friend Tony katz has
Been he may have won it before, too BUT i
know he's at least been nominated for. It so shout
out To Dave smiley for being nominated for A.
Speaker 1 (01:34:41):
Marconi and we love.
Speaker 4 (01:34:43):
It when you get, recognition not just Within indy but
within the. STATE i know, WHY i k. WHY i
don't know if they're an affiliate of. YOURS i k
why affiliate To. Evansville they've been nominated for A. Marconi
that's a historic many decades, station great content and. Such so,
(01:35:03):
YEAH i saw that a little bit earlier. Today i'm
always proud to. TALK i don't care if you work
at our, station our, building a different. STATION i love
it when radio and our state is. Recognized, yeah that's pretty.
Speaker 16 (01:35:16):
Cool and The Smiley, SHOW i, mean they've been doing
it at a high level for a long, time.
Speaker 1 (01:35:19):
So that's what they.
Speaker 4 (01:35:20):
Think, YEAH i think they just kind of jack around
for four hours a. Day but there's something to be
said about if you jack around and people dig, it
that's great.
Speaker 16 (01:35:26):
And the longevity of that. SHOW i, MEAN i mean
there are shows.
Speaker 4 (01:35:30):
Out Lasted Daryl smiley's hairline. Too, Man it's like. That
so it's the hairline has been left behind right. There
but no congratulations To dave and and the gang there
And nikki and everybody for. That that's pretty pretty awesome
for The Smiley Morning. Show, Hey i'm curious you mentioned
war the interception Of. Richardson how else has the offense
(01:35:53):
looked in these certain.
Speaker 16 (01:35:54):
Situations, YEAH i think UNTIL i kind of stepped over,
HERE i would say that the first team offense looked
a little bit better and that was highlighted By Daniel
jones to start. Out NOW i think they've flopped. IT
i think The anthony's now getting those first team. REPS
i Thought anthony's first set was a little up and.
Down Daniel jones able to move the football down the,
field they scored a, touchdown AND i thought ultimately the
(01:36:18):
offense has looked looked better today than it did. Yesterday
we've seen some splash plays out of the tight ends
not Named Tyler, warren which is a good. Thing we
Saw Will, mallory you have a couple of really nice
plays here Today Jelanie woods scored a, touchdown so that's
good for. Him but for the most, PART i think
if you're you're grading the quarterbacks of, TODAY i Think
Daniel jones right now has a leg, up but there's
still a good you, know forty five minutes left the.
Speaker 4 (01:36:40):
Practice Casey valier The Colt Radio network got a new
interesting twist to the post games.
Speaker 1 (01:36:46):
That we'll let you in on once. Again coming up
in just a.
Speaker 4 (01:36:49):
Minute what are you looking forward to to the joint
practices with The PACKER i should say the joint practice
The packers On.
Speaker 1 (01:36:55):
Thursday, yeah the biggest, THING i mean part of.
Speaker 16 (01:36:56):
It it's wild to think that when the joint practice is,
over breaks camp here for where we are up Here,
westfield which is in years, past typically you go up
to that final preseason. Game but with everything being In,
cincinnati they're gonna break camp and that'll be. It BUT
i think ULTIMATELY i wasn't In, baltimore BUT i heard
a lot of really good. Things it sounded, like you,
(01:37:17):
know offense and defense had some very bright spots against
a really Good ravens. Team SO i would say just
carrying that over because The packers is another team that
they're probably going to be a playoff, team so you're
gonna get a bunch of really good dudes out here
you're going up against when you're going on these individual
and team periods against The. Packers so you want to
see them be competitive, again just to give you a
(01:37:39):
little bit more BECAUSE i, Mean, THURSDAY i think we'd
all agree that that preseason game was kind of what
you would expect of a preseason game, one just a
lot of ups and, downs just a little kind of.
Game i'm expecting kind of the same in preseason game
two because you're gonna get a lot of that run
there in the joint practice On. Thursday SO i really
(01:38:01):
just want to see them pick up where they left
off last week In.
Speaker 1 (01:38:03):
Baltimore so AND i brought this.
Speaker 4 (01:38:05):
Up we talked To Rake venturi about that, again part
of The colt spring game huddle with, us even more
so this season than he has been in the, past
which we're very excited. About but he had mentioned just
the level of Importance thursday And saturday has in terms
of this whole quarterback.
Speaker 1 (01:38:20):
Situation it's.
Speaker 16 (01:38:21):
MASSIVE i, MEAN i would assume that you'd want to
have a really good idea on who the guy is
if there still is right that competition heading into next.
Week but you'd really like for that final preseason game
to be that typical dress rehearsal for the, ones so
you you'd almost hope that that decision is kind of.
Made so that would make you know This thursday And
(01:38:41):
saturday way very very heavily on what it's going to look.
Like we haven't Seen anthony really favoring the, pinky so
that's positive.
Speaker 1 (01:38:48):
News how do you favor the?
Speaker 16 (01:38:50):
PIK i, know, essentially it doesn't look like the ball's
coming off his hand any, different doesn't look like he's
lost any you, know any distance or velocity on his.
Speaker 1 (01:38:58):
Pass SO i think that's one of the things you look.
At SO i should have brought that. UP i WISH
i would have came up with the favoring the favoring either.
Go you could take, that take that completely. Assured but
it's like when you drink glass of, wine you, know
leave it, hang And i'm favoring the pinky right there as.
Well that Is casey. Value.
Speaker 4 (01:39:18):
Hey, defensively you mentioned That Mooney ward had a pick
Of anthony richardson the fourth during. Camp yes far this,
year who else has looked. Good everybody talks About Layatu,
latu why.
Speaker 1 (01:39:28):
YEAH i MEAN i think he.
Speaker 16 (01:39:29):
WAS i would give him credit for another sack again.
Today he has just been consistent pressure and that he said,
before you, KNOW i think it was during OTAs the
first time that we talked to him in the offseason
that he wanted to sack a. Game that was his,
goal which is, lofty but what we've seen out, here
he just he looks like the game is slowing down
(01:39:49):
and he's kind of maybe worked on some new moves
in the off season that a is getting. Him you,
know he's more of your speed. Rusher he's, not you,
know going to be your power. Guy so he's got
to work on case not that way.
Speaker 4 (01:40:02):
To get that that is such a game changer and
and something that is unrecognizable from a fan base for this.
Team but, yes it's been so damn long since we
went over something the other day with double digit Sacks
sunreal and Since Robert mathis and The Dwight freeney, Era
you've had two yes and one was like and nothing
(01:40:25):
Against Eric, walden but that was a, yeah the dude
just kind of ran into it was a lot of coverage.
Speaker 1 (01:40:30):
Sacks then they're Justin. Houston was the thousand years? Old? Yeah,
yeah and that's.
Speaker 16 (01:40:34):
It it is crazy when you think ABOUT i think
the number was since two thousand and, two the guys
not Named freenie Or mathis that have gotten double digit
sacks or Just Eric walden and Justin. Houston YET i
know in some ways you think about two thousand and
two and those were really good years for The, colts
but that's a long time. Ago long time ago like
that is that is something that is very needed for
(01:40:54):
this defense and If Liatsu latsu really continues to take
that next. Step, now we saw flashes of really good
stuff last year during training, camp and then you know
every rookie kind of has that learning. Curve they hit
that rookie. Wall so we're hoping here in year two
he's found ways to kind of, avoid you, know where
those slumps that he saw in his. Season but he's
looked really good in.
Speaker 4 (01:41:14):
Camp casey value with us and Again mooney is going
to join us at a picking camp a little bit.
Speaker 1 (01:41:20):
Earlier we'll talk with him about.
Speaker 4 (01:41:23):
That and The packers coming in here for a joint
practice On thursday and then a preseason game.
Speaker 1 (01:41:28):
Coming up On.
Speaker 4 (01:41:29):
Saturday by the, way coach pregame huddles On. Saturday what
we got for, Everybody.
Speaker 16 (01:41:32):
Bud, yeah we'll be live At Touchdown town for. Sure
we'll be for an all game live At Touchdown tit
you come say. Hi it'll Be jay AND v, Myself Bill,
brooks And Joe. Wrights, Now joe AND i will have
to leave probably about a half hour into the show
just because we're both on the radio, broadcast but we'll
have like you, Said Rick Van terry's going to join
us for a couple, segments which is. Awesome we asked
(01:41:53):
him if he was okay to do a little bit
more and he kind of, said, HEY i, MEAN i
can host the show if you want. It so you,
know we can Have rick as long as we. Want
and we're gonna have a little bit Of Larra overton as.
Well so, yeah come out and join. Us it's gonna
be gonna be a lot of. Fun it's a it's
nice to have a couple preseason games to close that
are one o'clock, games so it gives us like that a.
Speaker 1 (01:42:11):
Lot you.
Speaker 4 (01:42:12):
Know that was it last, year but there was one
on A saturday that came at about five, o'clock was?
Speaker 1 (01:42:16):
It, yeah BECAUSE.
Speaker 4 (01:42:17):
I was down, THERE i THINK i had to go
from five and till, seven and then did THE chammi takeover, Opposite,
YES i remember.
Speaker 16 (01:42:24):
Correctly, Yeah so we don't have to worry about. That this,
year we got pregame huddles starting at ten o'clock locally
here On. Saturday so come out and join.
Speaker 1 (01:42:31):
Us that's.
Speaker 4 (01:42:31):
Awesome all, right one more. Time explain what you And
Bill brooks were going to do After colts.
Speaker 16 (01:42:35):
Games, yeah so we're gonna do it's Called Instant reactions
the second year of this, Podcast so it's gonna be
me And, bill and it's in it's a video, form
so we'll we'll throw audio online but also be a
video component of just essentially the first digestion of whatever
the game was outcomes reasons why who played, well who,
didn't and then kind of a quick preview of what's
coming up next to quick little twenty fun yeah looking. Forward,
(01:42:59):
yeah And i'm not gonna. IDEA i love working With.
BILL i do a handful of things with. Deal he
makes it real. Easy so when they asked me to do,
this it was a very. Easy, yeah you no.
Speaker 4 (01:43:07):
Problem how did things go On, thursday BECAUSE i was
In Franklin legends for ylf out and you guys were.
Downtown everything, seamless everything was.
Speaker 1 (01:43:14):
Good you did that was? Solid yeah, yeah and there
was there was an.
Speaker 16 (01:43:19):
Intern there was not an, intern but there was a
guy shadowing in there With nathaniel and he was, like,
wow that was.
Speaker 1 (01:43:25):
Impressive.
Speaker 4 (01:43:26):
Boom hell, yeah maybe that's professional grade right.
Speaker 1 (01:43:29):

we can. Do we'll just set him up side by
side and we'll just block the. Hole here's what you can.
Do we can both have it if you just move that.
One can you not? Move?
Speaker 5 (01:43:49):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (01:43:49):
Who they all set that up right there doing. This

Speaker 19 (01:49:20):
That it's, Doing, yes it's going. GREAT i love doing.
It you, know it's nice because you work maybe a
weekend or two and you get a weekend. Off you
don't get that on the cup side of.
Speaker 4 (01:49:28):
THINGS i think that it is at times often more
entertaining than the other.
Speaker 19 (01:49:34):
TWO i hear that a lot because it's like two.
Hours you get the whole race in every lab. Count
it's kind of like an IndyCar, race you, know start to.
Finish it's going to be two hours of your. Time
it's going to be.
Speaker 4 (01:49:43):
Exciting, now the players jealous because you guys take all
the attention away from the.
Speaker 1 (01:49:48):
Fans you guys are walking around the solid pretty sure they're.
Back nobody looking about this quarterback. Back let me tell you.
THAT i tell you.
Speaker 18 (01:49:55):
What we've been walking around and everyone keeps stopping and
they do a double.
Speaker 1 (01:49:58):
TAKE i guarantee the Stopping.
Speaker 3 (01:50:00):
Well is That jamie.
Speaker 18 (01:50:00):
Hddle BECAUSE i think they're, like hold, on it's all
sorts of racing fans that are, like AM i seeing this?
Speaker 15 (01:50:05):
Right this isn't you?
Speaker 19 (01:50:06):
Know we're not On Pitt road, Here we're out out In.
Westfield I've Ben cognito over, here all colts.
Speaker 1 (01:50:11):
Out, yeah you did coult yourself out right. There. Yeah
now do you go to games? Too? OH i.
Speaker 19 (01:50:16):
Do we're we're seasoned, fans like we are in the
stands for every game Starting. SATURDAY i have a truck Race.
FRIDAY i land at. Eleven i'm going straight to the,
stadium meeting my husband and kids, there SO.
Speaker 1 (01:50:25):
I had not.
Speaker 18 (01:50:26):
WAIT i actually think that's how we met. Initially OBVIOUSLY
i followed you forever and we have lots of mutual.
Speaker 19 (01:50:31):
Friends but it was on a game.
Speaker 18 (01:50:33):
DAY i Saw jamie and her family WHILE i was
down doing you, know some pregame, stuff walking, around finishing
up notes and, things and we just chatted on the,
sidelines maybe two or three seasons, ago and so and
Then jamie reached out and asked if she could come
hang for a. Practice.
Speaker 4 (01:50:46):
Wow the ever changing landscape of covering races is, interesting,
though isn't.
Speaker 19 (01:50:51):
IT i mean it is things are changing at such
a rapid. PACE i MEAN i feel like it is
in you, know across the board in television question general for,
sure by you got to stay on top of. IT
i tell people it's not just a. Job it is a,
lifestyle and you've got to be on top of what's
happening every. Day things are changing in this whole. LANDSCAPE i,
mean we've got drivers changing rides right now mid, season
(01:51:12):
like you normally don't see. It you hear about. It
in silly, season but you see it At. Daytona so,
yeah it's a, lot but it's fun and keeps you
on your toes.
Speaker 1 (01:51:19):
When you're a part of.
Speaker 4 (01:51:20):
It one, thing but on the outside looking at like
a Season Alex polo, had where does that? Stand And
i'm talking about with all major forms of racing, involved
that was as dominant as we have seen in.
Speaker 19 (01:51:31):
Forever, ABSOLUTELY i mean any championship you're, like you know
what it took the heart. SOUL i mean starting at
three years old racing go carts to get that one,
championship but to back it up, again to back it up,
again and now he's won four. Championships he's, Unreal LIKE
i would love to see the guy move up TO
f one just to see what he can do and
how he could compete with Those but if you can't
(01:51:52):
get in a great, ride why Leave? IndyCar like he
is just he's, recreating rewriting the record books and he
won never one on an, oval three time, champion and
then he gets it done at the biggest.
Speaker 1 (01:52:03):
Race we have.
Speaker 4 (01:52:04):
Seen the best drivers try to make a transition TO
nascar and Sometimes Wan Pablo MONTOYA i thought did a good,
job But, Dariel.
Speaker 1 (01:52:13):
Frank katy maybe not so. Much you, know you can
Argue Dan patrick's status.
Speaker 4 (01:52:17):
There would he be somebody that he's not going To
but would he be somebody that you think could make
that transition or is it just that?
Speaker 19 (01:52:24):
Difficult you, know it's really tough to, say because somebody
that you expect would be great in a stock, car
it's like they. Didn't they didn't fare so. Well you,
Know dario got hurt over. There it's like you go
over he, SAID i THOUGHT i was coming to the safest.
Sport you, Know i've got a roof over, IT i,
know and THEN i break my arm or whatever it.
Speaker 1 (01:52:41):
WAS i, KNOW i.
Speaker 19 (01:52:43):
Know But alex he's just so gifted and so, talented
and it's much more than turning left or turning right
and using your gas pedal like that guy just figures it.
Out it's like we talk about the, quarterbacks and with
that experience and, talent you just know how to shift
and what to do that goes beyond the scope of
what you're. Playing AND i feel like somebody Like, alex
he's so, good he would figure it.
Speaker 1 (01:53:03):
Out for, sure you would.
Speaker 4 (01:53:04):
Think so That's Jamie little right. There The Truck series
Is Craftsman Truck. Series it is not all second. Throwback,
WELL i will say, THIS i think one of the
best races on the calendar anywhere Is Lucas Well raceway
and The Truck. SERIES i know it was a dominant
performance a couple of weeks, ago but still that is
one of the most enjoyable races because you can every
(01:53:26):
single inch you.
Speaker 1 (01:53:27):
Can, see which is pretty. Amazing you.
Speaker 19 (01:53:29):
KNOW i was just talking to some people on the
sidelines saying the same, thing that is their favorite truck,
race AND i. AGREE i, mean it goes back to
The Infinity. Series they raced there Forever dale senor you name,
them they raced over, there and it's like it's a
short track showdown under the lights In. Indianapolis it doesn't get.
Better it was so much fun to call that race
a couple of weeks, ago But Lane riggs got it.
(01:53:49):
Done but it's been fun knowing. It the great thing
about The Truck series is you're seeing the. Talent you,
know like these guys you're watching them in, college our
future stars On, sundays you're watching them in The Truck.
Series so by the time they get there On, sunday you're, like,
YEAH i, KNEW i knew that guy had it in.
Him you, know it's really fun to develop that and
show the fans who these people.
Speaker 4 (01:54:08):
Are you ever see somebody fall out of the car
after a win and break their collar?
Speaker 19 (01:54:12):
Bone, No, oh my, god happened this, Weekend yes.
Speaker 1 (01:54:15):
Weekend.
Speaker 19 (01:54:15):
Yeah probably the most talented prospect coming up nineteen years.
Old Connor zvillach marked down his name because he is
the future superstar of the. Sport the poor kid dominates
first full, year he's a rookie IN, xfinity won his
sixth race of the, season which is unheard, of gets
out of his car to, celebrate and his foot gets,
stuck like he slips on the window net AND i
(01:54:38):
thought he was going to break his. Leg he goes,
down knocks himself out and broke his.
Speaker 18 (01:54:41):
Collarbone it's something too where you see guys celebrate that
way all the. Time it wasn't that he was being
over the top or, no it's JUST i MEAN i
heard him SAY i was listening to The morning show
WHEN i was driving up, earlier and they were saying.
Speaker 19 (01:54:52):
That he actually said he was just gravelly could.
Speaker 1 (01:54:54):
Walk is that?
Speaker 15 (01:54:55):
Right like he's kind.
Speaker 19 (01:54:56):
Of could have Been, yes it could have been a broken.
LEG i thought it was like when he hit the,
ground just, like oh my.
Speaker 4 (01:55:00):
God you think about, ANYTHING i, mean you think about
HiT's on the football. Field you talk About dariol being you,
know getting injured and doing.
Speaker 1 (01:55:06):
THAT i, mean it could just.
Speaker 19 (01:55:08):
Happen and that's in Victory. Lane like the dude just
just scrapped for two and a half hours and gets
this win and avoided contact and then gets hurt, celebrating you,
know just getting out of his. Car but hopefully he's
only out for a couple more weeks because the championship
the playoffs are. STARTING i want to see what this
kid can.
Speaker 4 (01:55:23):
Do, so, So Jamie little And Leara, overton what are
you guys going to do besides? Cover you're going to
cover the end of practice With lara.
Speaker 19 (01:55:29):
Too, Yeah i'm just going to hold her notebook And
i'm gonna watch. THIS i wrote her. COFFEE i am
doing the.
Speaker 8 (01:55:34):
Enterta she's like every.
Speaker 19 (01:55:37):
COFFEE i was, Like i'll never turn that.
Speaker 1 (01:55:38):
Down you call Yourself lara's intern. Today, yes it might
be the greatest, internable.
Speaker 19 (01:55:43):
Right i've been IN tv for twenty five, years BUT
i will gladly be an interurle because it's such an
honor to be. HERE i, MEAN i JUST i love these.
Guys growing up on The West, coast we didn't have
a football team In Lake tahoe Or Las vegas at the,
time SO i wasn't big into this sport UNTIL i
moved To. India Now i'm just such a fan AND
i just learning about.
Speaker 18 (01:56:00):
It, yeah it's been really fun for us to kind
of just compare notes on how we do things. DIFFERENTLY
i was telling her just WHAT i was watching for
in practice and HOW i prep for PRESEASON tv versus you,
know regular season, radio just those different, things.
Speaker 19 (01:56:12):
AND i told HER i want her to come to
a race and do the.
Speaker 1 (01:56:14):
SAME i can't wait. Watching i'll be.
Speaker 4 (01:56:16):
Watching, hey great to see you, Both, jamie see, You.
Lara thank you very.
Speaker 1 (01:56:20):
Much.
Speaker 4 (01:56:20):
Lara we'll see a lot more of. You, wellfully we'll
see you at the. Games come to, touchdown touchdowntown.
Speaker 19 (01:56:24):
Sometimes, Okay i'll come find. You we're there all the.
Speaker 1 (01:56:26):
Time love to have. It thank, You. Jamie good to see.
Speaker 4 (01:56:28):
You jamie And lara right there with us. Too we
Got mooney gonna join. US i think practice is just.
Ending we'll take a Break james and come back with
a guy that had an interception Of Anthony richardson. Today
Mooney ward on the other, side naughety three five one
or seven five the, fan.
Speaker 3 (01:56:46):
The ride WITH. Jmv the, clean the clean.
Speaker 1 (01:56:51):
And the crop and there is no one those.
Speaker 3 (01:56:55):
Are better ninety three five and one oh seven five the.
Fan all, right coach camp practice is done for on This.
Monday we'll be back here coming up On. Thursday but
with us, now first time he was, on he was.
Outstanding mooney is in the house.
Speaker 1 (01:57:14):
With us right. Now from that cold, secondary you get
yourself an interception this.
Speaker 8 (01:57:17):
AFTERNOON i finally got me. One, man finally got me.
Speaker 4 (01:57:20):
One were feeling good about. THAT i didn't get. SHARED
i had like a twenty yard scope right, here SO
i didn't see.
Speaker 1 (01:57:26):
It explained it to the right.
Speaker 20 (01:57:27):
Folks oh, yeah we were just in our version of
cover to good disguise about the entire. Defense great call
By Coach, low and we sold all our pressure on
and on the. SNAP i came down kind of played
cover to a kind of food office a little, bit
and he gave me a, good good Little christmas, present
good good, Good.
Speaker 4 (01:57:43):
Yes so you mentioned Coach Lou how has your acclamation
been to his defensive.
Speaker 20 (01:57:49):
Philosophies, oh it's been, fun, man it's been challenging to.
It at the same, time it's a completely different scheme
than WHAT i played last year the past threw years
with The ford Nin is. Own we'll press seem now you,
know a lot of a lot of man and. MAN
i THINK i heard around the building that we didn't
play a lot of man and man last. Year Coach
So Coach Lou, man he aggressive man, like he's not
scared to get up there and challenge guys no matter
(01:58:10):
who to, receive who the quarterback. Is so it's been
fun to, acclimator you, know kind of you learn how
to play man and man in their press.
Speaker 4 (01:58:15):
Technique so we talked about. This we're a basketball fan
and we were talking about that before we got back,
Here like they played a lot of zone in the,
past and now it's a lot more.
Speaker 1 (01:58:27):
Man the man are there.
Speaker 4 (01:58:30):
Like applicables you could make from basketball terminology to football.
Terminology defensively From Manda, Man.
Speaker 20 (01:58:36):
Yes it's kind of playing corner is the exact same
as playing deef as in. Basketball he's basically just standing
in front of in front of a man the whole.
Game so you got to have, real real good letter of.
Movement that's like the main thing when it comes to
playing press man in. Corner have good, eyes eyes on the,
hilton you, know real good letter of, movements some quickness
and his. Closeness AND i think if you rip it every,
day it's not that it's not that bad to.
Speaker 4 (01:58:56):
DO i don't know if you want to say, this
BECAUSE i know you guys don't like to give up this,
information but who's the toughest to, cover the toughest to
cover in the, league in the, league not just out
here but.
Speaker 20 (01:59:08):
ANYWHERE i don't know if you're gonna like my, answer
BUT i kind of don't like putting putting guys on the.
Speaker 8 (01:59:13):
Pedestal you.
Speaker 1 (01:59:14):
Know, well that's why that's WHY i phrased.
Speaker 20 (01:59:16):
IT i even though Like i'm competing against, them SO
i kind of want to look at. Them it's like
they're on the same level as, me you.
Speaker 1 (01:59:22):
Know WHAT i.
Speaker 20 (01:59:22):
Mean SO i don't want to say this guy is
super hard to cover and put them like on the.
Pedestal understand everybody. Else so that's WHY i phrased it that.
WAY i just feel, Like, MAN i can cover anybody
in the league long AS i got good guys and good,
technique AND i think i'd BE i can win not
a percent of my.
Speaker 4 (01:59:35):
Metchup do you ever hear other corners give a name
and GO i don't know about.
Speaker 20 (01:59:39):
That, Yeah, man a lot of, guys they top five,
guys but it's like kind of like you kind of
like making them a kind of like idolizing. Them, yeah,
though you, know you got to respect everybody game in
the league because a lot of guys present a lot
of different different. Challenges like it's a lot of six
four six five, guys big. Guys then it's a lot
of guys that run four two four three so and
this quick guys swe at the same. Time so a
lot of guys present different. Challenges but you, KNOW i,
(02:00:00):
MEAN i just try to go in and study every
game my. Opponent and you, know as long AS i
do that to know the Game i'm going going up,
AGAINST i win a lot Of.
Speaker 4 (02:00:06):
You feel like before every, game you know exactly where
the person you're going be on is.
Speaker 1 (02:00:11):
Going every, STEP i, mean can you predict?
Speaker 20 (02:00:13):
It, yeah not every, step but you can get a
pretty good feel for the. Guy you know What i'm saying.
Me i've been in the league for eight years, now
so you, KNOW i don'e played a lot of ball
at the highest. Level two Three Super, bowls a lot
of playoff games, too SO i kind of like know
a lot of the guys in the league. Tendency so
your dis experience helped me out a lot for.
Speaker 1 (02:00:28):
Sure how much watching tape does that? Help how?
Speaker 4 (02:00:31):
Much just as you mentioned going through the process of,
playing how much is?
Speaker 5 (02:00:35):
It?
Speaker 20 (02:00:35):
Oh, yeah just watch the. Tape it's basically like studying
for a tests in. College you, know we out went
to college And i'm trying to sto was. Finals so
it's just like kind of taking the tests in colleges
knowing what you're, getting kind of trying to know that guy's,
movements you, know his tails and everything like, that and
it'll put you in good situations doing the.
Speaker 1 (02:00:49):
Game It's mooney with us for the cold secondary.
Speaker 4 (02:00:51):
Again the joint practice coming up against The packers On,
thursday and then preseason game two coming up On.
Speaker 1 (02:00:56):
Saturday are you playing On? Saturday you, KNOW.
Speaker 10 (02:01:00):
I don't know.
Speaker 8 (02:01:00):
Yet to be, honest, man do.
Speaker 1 (02:01:02):
You want to way On? Saturday?
Speaker 20 (02:01:03):
COOLSON i don't mind playing in the preseason, man kind
of get you luded up and ready for the. Season
you definitely want to be ready for the, season try
to stay health and everything like. That but the coach
stores out there for a driver to is to be.
Speaker 4 (02:01:14):
Ready is there something to be said about being better
prepared when you get some preseason, working whether it comes
to covering or tackling or.
Speaker 1 (02:01:22):
Recognizing is there something to be said about?
Speaker 20 (02:01:24):
That, yeah it's basically kind of like finding twenty of your,
skills you, know getting your reaction time downpack kind of
sometimes in practice against going against the same people over
and over, again it can kind of gets. Still you
can't know what's coming all the. Time so just going
to getting a different look against different, team it kind
of ups your intensity a little, bit you know WHAT i.
Speaker 8 (02:01:41):
Mean so that definitely helps.
Speaker 4 (02:01:42):
Out a lot of the reason WHY i bring that up,
is and you probably are aware of, this there has
been a start of the season struggle around here forever
for the coach and week number one. Forever really we
were trying to think about ways and means in which
you can go about changing that.
Speaker 20 (02:01:56):
Up, man changing that this year, man we strong and
we were looking. Forward, Man do you feel that? HERE i,
mean you know better than anybody. Else do you kind
of feel that out here right?
Speaker 1 (02:02:06):
Now?
Speaker 20 (02:02:07):
Definitely, MAN i feel it from our, leader, man the
head coach. Man you, know he he got a sense
of urgery by. Hisself you, know he kind of like
sprinkling that down to you, know every every group on the,
field every position group on the, field team. Meetings you,
know he trying to create their edge every day in.
Practice so it's definitely since the urgency around here and
we're trying to come out.
Speaker 1 (02:02:23):
STRONG i see different From Kyle shanahan for.
Speaker 8 (02:02:25):
Example, uh in what ways you?
Speaker 1 (02:02:27):
Mean personality, wise coaching? STYLE i mean.
Speaker 20 (02:02:31):
It's a lot of. Differences it's a lot of. DIFFERENCES
i just feel like they're both great. COACHES i kind
of don't really know how to compare. Them obsoletely coach
been doing it for a little bit. Longer he's, been you,
know onto a little more Super bowls and want a
little bit. More BUT i definitely feel like coach SAN
i mean not, coach but Coach stiken coming into his
own and you know he Gonna we're gonna shine this.
Year Andy, reid big, red, big, big big red legendary.
(02:02:57):
MAN i, LOVE i love coach And Reed, man he
loved me. TO i talked to him a few times
SINCE i left THE T SO i had a pretty
good relationship with all the coaches That i've been, with
AND i Think i've been with some of Two hall
Of fame coaches so far on my career in. Coaching
and the coach read so hopefully Coach. Psyche you, know
we can get to The Super bowls and he get you,
know up his legend status.
Speaker 4 (02:03:16):
Too we talked about this BACK i think In march
when when you proved, yourself when you felt you kind
of flipped that switch and proved yourself for THE. Nfl
what moment was? That And i'm assuming it was In Kansas?
City uh remember like kind of like my fourth y
AND Knas.
Speaker 20 (02:03:29):
City, MAN i didn't get many accolades my fourth year
And Knas, city but my coaches started to begin to
trust me to travel with the number and receiver every,
game you know WHAT i. Mean and that's, like oh,
snap Like I'M cb one, now you know WHAT i.
Mean SO i got to come out of every game
knowing on third down on backside by, myself the ball
coming my way and most of the TIMES i was
making plays that. Year so they led me to get
in a real, big you, know a nice contract with
(02:03:50):
the forty. Nine so when ONCE i got, paid, MAN
i just kept trying to get better and better than
eventually you, know went ap on.
Speaker 1 (02:03:56):
Them what were were they disappointed when you left initially
the forty nine?
Speaker 8 (02:03:59):
Er, yeah, YEAH i THINK i MEAN i was.
Speaker 20 (02:04:01):
Disappointed they was, disappointed you, know because it was it
was a good person in business relationship both. WAYS i
feel like we both, won you, KNOW i, won you, know,
financially and they, won you know by the WAY i.
Played so it was it was a, real real good
relationship with the for The.
Speaker 4 (02:04:13):
Niners you mentioned that that you thought initially back in
free agency you were going To New.
Speaker 1 (02:04:18):
Orleans, YEAH i THOUGHT i was going To New.
Speaker 8 (02:04:20):
Orleans it was.
Speaker 1 (02:04:21):
Because they did they come at your.
Speaker 8 (02:04:23):
Heart, yeah they.
Speaker 1 (02:04:24):
Did.
Speaker 20 (02:04:24):
Man it was kind of, like you, know going through
WHAT i went through last, year my Biggest my biggest
thing was like, location you know What i'm. SAYING i
kind of want to be here around my. Family So
i'm From, mississippi which is two hours From New. Orleans
my hometown of, Call, missippi AND i stay In dallas,
now which is only like an hour and held flight
From New, orleans SO i kind of wanted to be down.
There BUT i mean the Coach, kane the Coach, kane
they was, like may we want to we need.
Speaker 8 (02:04:45):
It SO i was, like let's do.
Speaker 1 (02:04:47):
It let's get it done in. Blue now.
Speaker 4 (02:04:53):
You're you're, looking you're looking at the. Secondary they came
at you and cam really. Hard, yeah, man we got
we got to come out of this dude to your left right.
There that that brings a lot of force.
Speaker 20 (02:05:03):
Up big growth, man big, grow fun guy, man fun
gotta be. Around that's WHY i hear Like Peter, griffin you,
know family. Guy, well you know everybody love it, man
everybody man.
Speaker 4 (02:05:14):
Not does he do an impression or family got? Impression,
no that's what you like that he got the fun.
Speaker 1 (02:05:20):
Lot.
Speaker 20 (02:05:20):
Yeah just have somebody to keep it. Loose, yeah he
brings the joy to everybody here around. Man EVERYBODY'S i.
Speaker 4 (02:05:25):
Would assume, though you gotta have somebody like growth to
keep it. Loose but you can't have somebody that keeps
it loose not performing at a high level on the field.
EITHER i, mean you got to bring them, both don't.
Speaker 20 (02:05:33):
You he definitely a big dog on it off the, field.
Man you, know everybody respect him on the field out the.
Field SO i look forward to seeing seeing my boy
make some players calls some heavock this. Season man gets
some sax WHEN i stop everything like, That.
Speaker 1 (02:05:43):
How can you tell him camp that you have a
defense that's coming.
Speaker 20 (02:05:46):
Along just the, intensity, man just the intensity and the,
energy you, know everybody. Celebrating we make players having, fun you,
know just having that, swag playing with confidence and not
being scared of. Nobody, nothing not complaining about. Calls you,
Know LIKE i, said man is just the energy and.
Enthusiasm has he made wings for you over there?
Speaker 8 (02:06:01):
Yet made? Wings what you?
Speaker 1 (02:06:03):
Mean chicken?
