Speaker 1 (00:10):
And where are we going here?

Speaker 2 (00:13):
Anything you have a chance against ours?

Speaker 3 (00:14):
Mister cowboy y what you like to do?

Speaker 1 (00:18):
Oh?

Speaker 4 (00:19):
I don't know?

Speaker 1 (00:20):
Play chess? Screw well theer's play chest.

Speaker 5 (00:23):
They give off their Jonathan Taylor Chuck cunning its way
walking the goal line.

Speaker 1 (00:27):
He's in there, puts down dye. Why Jonathan Taylor Wheeler.

Speaker 4 (00:34):
Finds here's haliber into the front board, mishandled it.

Speaker 1 (00:39):
Mcgins a shot, he finds it. John, I have never
been bedroom to be on the air with you here.

Speaker 6 (00:48):
In Indianapolis, a place where so many of my dreams
have come.

Speaker 7 (00:51):
True with the ride with JMV on ninety three five
and one oh seven five the fan.

Speaker 5 (01:00):
He's gonna go an empty set here backs to throw
on second and long. Here's one down the right sideline,
broken up by the Colts. There's a flag on the play,
and there is a would be interception on the play
made by Alex Johnson for the Colts getting the start today.
So now it's fourth and seven and on for about
a fifty three yard field goal. Here is Spencer Schrader

(01:23):
out of the hold of Brigaberto Sanchez. Here's the kick
on its way towards the uprights and it is good
and the Colts get points after the takeaway by the defense.
Offset I full back back into the game, rush under center, straight,
give on a counter and it's a gaping hole for Mitchell.
He's inside the fifteen, he's at the ten, he's at
the five, and he's going to stretch it across the

(01:45):
goal line and a touchdown. That's a twenty two yard
run for Keaton Mitchell. He had two runs on that
drive that were twenty plus, including a touchdown, and the
Ravens score points. On their second possession of the game,
Anthony Richardson goes out of the gun ball in the
here Hash backs to throw and he is deck from
the left and he is sacked and buried. He took

(02:08):
a big time hit, but more importantly, hangs on to
the football and the Ravens with a sack off the
left edge and.

Speaker 8 (02:16):
He's going off the field. Matt He got hit unobated.
There was no one blocking, The protection was totally not there.

Speaker 1 (02:24):
He had a back releasing.

Speaker 8 (02:25):
In the backfield and they were going one way, and
you can't have your quarterback take that shot.

Speaker 1 (02:30):
That's David A.

Speaker 5 (02:31):
Jobbo going into his fourth year and like you said,
Anthony Richardson is out of the game.

Speaker 1 (02:37):
That was a wicked hit. Fourth and seventeen.

Speaker 5 (02:41):
Rigaberto Sanchez wall punt endover en Rugby style punt underneath it.

Speaker 7 (02:45):
His western makes.

Speaker 5 (02:47):
The catch of all the numbers, a right side around
a fourteen yard line, moving left, cuts up field twenty
twenty five. He's got a thirty thirty five forty down
the right sideline. He's gonna go. No Colt will catch him.
And Les Jonte rest out of Colorado with the putt
return touchdown first in goal. Now for the Ravens inside
the five yard line, high snat for Leary, pulls it down,

(03:08):
hands off upside to Ali fighting for the end zone,
and he gets in twisted.

Speaker 1 (03:12):
Down not the goal line, but fought his way across
for a touchdown.

Speaker 5 (03:16):
Herbert, in his fifth year out of Virginia Tech, lines
up to the right of Leonard, who goes out of
the gun. Here ball in the right hash tight end
right as well. Again they call Khalil Herbert's name. He
gets a little pushed from Riley Leonard across.

Speaker 1 (03:28):
The goal line.

Speaker 5 (03:29):
Yes, Sir, touchdown Khalil Herbert and the Colts have their
first offensive touchdown of the preseason and the Ravens are
going to win the preseason Game.

Speaker 1 (03:39):
Number one over the Indianapolis Colts.

Speaker 5 (03:41):
The final score to night on the Rup Morgan scoreboard,
it's the Ravens twenty four and the Indianapolis Colts sixteen.

Speaker 6 (03:49):
That's s Matt Taylor and Charles Arbuckle on the Colts
radio Deedwork broadcasts from last night preseason Game number one,
and nobody really cares about the final score, but everybody
is going to be talking about a dislocated pinky, and
even more so than that, a quarterback that does remain

(04:10):
incredibly breakable more times than not unavailable. And then it
gives us even more reason to wonder going into year
number three, what has been learned regarding taking the sack,
taking the punishment, and then exiting the game. Here's what

(04:31):
I don't want you to by the way, I'll get
into this. We'll take your calls basically throughout the day,
so you join us.

Speaker 1 (04:39):
I didn't want to go ahead and set the scene
for you.

Speaker 6 (04:41):
I am at Heroesuojia Park Racing at Casino and Anderson today.
The thirty second edition of the three hundred thousand Dollars
dan Patch Steaks presented by Indiana's standard bread Breed Development
here at Heroes Hooojia Park. It is later on today,
actually first post is it. So I know our good

(05:02):
friend Tony Rinz is going to join us. I know
Gabe is going to be here a little bit later
on to tell us some things. We'll lay that out
for you. I also want to remind you that normally
we have hashtag ass pat. I think Pat is out today,
so no hashtag ass pat today, which I guess outside

(05:22):
of talking about the events. And we love the dan
Patch up here at Harris Hoosia Park, racing at Casino
and Anderson, but I guess outside of the dan Patch,
We've got a couple of major points. One for the
good is yesterday and just what an outstanding day that
it was down at the Legends Golf Club in Franklin,

(05:44):
just to cross the board. I love hanging out, as
you well know. This is why I love doing shows
like this. I would much rather be out that I
would be in. Nothing against James, nothing against anybody I
work with, but I would much rather be out and
hanging out with you and those that are up part
of the show and have them live as I would

(06:04):
be in studio, and I do recognize that more times
than not, the morning show and then the midday show,
so Kevin and James and Jeff and then Jake rarely
get the opportunity to be out. And I know that
yesterday was a really special day for them because they
got out and they were with you.

Speaker 1 (06:26):
This is, like I was, it's kind of old hat.

Speaker 6 (06:28):
Between us, right because I think you've seen me drink
a beer, You've seen me have a cocktail. You've seen
me sit behind and do all the not really being
able to move because the show goes really quick here
from three until six every afternoon. But we've hung out together,
so you've seen that before. But I thought it was
really cool. The other shows got to be a part

(06:49):
of that. You've got to hang out with them, Our
partners got to hang out with them. And we have
a great day raising money as a part of Franciscan
Health at Legends down in Franklin, and I wanted to
thank each and every one of you for making that
day ultra special. Absolutely loved it. Last year we didn't

(07:12):
do it on an actual golf course. It was still fun,
but it was very enjoyable to be back at a
golf course, and I can't lie to you, and I'm
never gonna. I thought yesterday was the most fun I'd
ever had at a golf outing in my life, because
I spent the better part of six and a half
hours doing nothing but shooting jumpers.

Speaker 1 (07:34):
And shooting jumpers to make money.

Speaker 6 (07:37):
What's that, buddy, Good to see you, pal, long time,
No see there, man, Good to see you.

Speaker 1 (07:42):
It was great, really was.

Speaker 6 (07:44):
So I'm gonna run down a list of those I
really do want to think and certainly recognize, but I
didn't want to start with you. I wanted to start
with you that participated, listeners and friends of the show
and just making that a spectacular afternoon, all those that
we work with at Urban One, I mean really across

(08:05):
the board. It kind of seemed like that everybody from
each station in our building was present there just making
sure the operation was outstanding. Then we're gonna get to,
just in a second, an operation that wasn't so outstanding
last night, but an operation that was outstanding. And yesterday
is one of those moments, just like many, where you're

(08:27):
really proud to work with and around and four a
group that does care so much and I talk about
this all the time. I love radio, and so much
has been said about it, so much to the good,
so much to the bad. And until my last breath,

(08:50):
I am going to do what I can do to
help radio because I know how important it is to
so many, no matter matter how you get your content
any longer, no matter how much it's digital.

Speaker 1 (09:06):
But I love what we do.

Speaker 6 (09:08):
Really across the board, and I can't thank you guys
enough for being a part of it. Yesterday it was
truly outsteading, and again that operation was great. I do
want to move on to an operation that I felt
was not so great. I am trying, and I mean
trying really hard not to make more out of this
than it is. This is, as they say, not my

(09:30):
first rodeo, So I'm not going to go all overboard
about it, and I'm not going to sit here and
tell you I told you so. Hopefully everything irons out
in one of these days. It is much better and
much more consistent. But yesterday, watching that game in Baltimore,

(09:55):
did anybody else get to feel It's like groundhog Day?
And if you don't know what groundhog Day is. This
is taken from the film with Bill Murray. It's reliving
the same blank over and over again. And I swear
to you that's what it felt like to me, even

(10:16):
before I get to the quarterback situation. I hate it
that I have to sit here and I have to
really try to cobble together positives and I don't care.
But the preseason game one or not? What did I
say yesterday? You wouldn't much rather say, hey, they played well,

(10:38):
But now they did play well against a lot of
these second, third, fourth, and fifth stringers and guys that
weren't going to be around. You would much rather say that.
But hell, I can't even say that for a lot
of things. I'm not predicting doom and gloom.

Speaker 1 (10:58):
I just think that we're still on that treadmill.

Speaker 6 (11:02):
That is massive in context and does not appear to
be going away anytime soon. That bums me out still.
Preseason Game two is a week from tomorrow. You'll close
it out with a third, and I'm sure the regular season,

(11:22):
and it should as hell better be, will be drastically
different than what we witnessed last night. But when you
have to stretch to find things to go, hey, that's great.
I give you a great example. I fully expected Tyler
Warren to look like that, like there was no surprise there.

(11:44):
I wanted to be surprised. I wanted to be surprised.
Oh wow, Okay, well, this is what they've been talking
about for the past couple of weeks up at Grand
Park and Westfield.

Speaker 1 (11:54):
I get it now. Now.

Speaker 6 (11:55):
I haven't been there. You haven't been there. You know
the guys that have been there every day. Yeah, this
is what they were talking about. I didn't get any
of that field Tyler Warren. You did, But that's what
I expected. I expect Tyler Warren to be really good.
Why because he was the best at his position by
a long stretch a year ago in college football. You

(12:17):
expect that transition to happen. So that wasn't a surprise
to me, not at all. Unfortunately, the stuff that also
becomes commonplace is the stuff that we have endured over
seasons of the past, especially in the short term, or
maybe in this case, because that's what we're talking about

(12:40):
the last two I want again to put this into context.
I'm not gonna go overboard on this being a preseason game,
but I will tell you that nothing really stood out
to where I could tell you, oh wow, this is
gonna be great, Tyler Warren did. But again I expect that,

(13:03):
and I know that you didn't see a lot of
guys and that is going to be different.

Speaker 1 (13:08):
I respect it.

Speaker 6 (13:10):
It just looked like and it should right, because the
Ravens are a much better organization and simply put, a
much better football team. But I just thought I saw
a much better operation at that point in time with
a group that was playing subs across the board, you know,
with the exception of the dude out of Georgia that
was playing in the secondary, the safety there was subs.

Speaker 1 (13:36):
So I do.

Speaker 6 (13:37):
Expect a little bit more from those that have been
there and done that. You know a lot of Colts
players that you recognize, name wise, don't you that we're
playing last night? And I'll get to the quarterback situation
in a second. That's the thing that also doesn't surprise.
Where I was looking at a surprise for the good
last night, I got an unfortunate I got a heavy

(14:01):
dose of what we've came to recognize is that you
can't count on until further notice the quarterback position at all.
Anthony Richardson goes out because he doesn't recognize the situation.
I mean, it was so much like revisiting every single

(14:21):
game that he's played so far for the most part,
in his Colt's career. Last night, he goes out, makes
a couple of passes. Everybody says, Hey, I told you so,
this guy is different, he is unique, he's a unicorn,
and he's great.

Speaker 1 (14:38):
And then he.

Speaker 6 (14:40):
Takes a hit and he goes out and he's injured,
and everybody on one side tries to blame the offensive
line or blame the coaching because they didn't have the
guys on the offensive line out there, and then the
other side blames the quarterback, and then after the game,
the quarterback puts the blame on himself, and then you

(15:00):
have all these thousands of other former quarterbacks of the
NFL explained to you stuff that should be easily recognizable,
easily identifiable, that didn't happen to be on that particular
play that led to it. Hey, the good news about
Anthony Richardson is his day to day and hopefully they

(15:23):
sidestep whatever they're side stepping here. The bad news is
you got another game and another heavy dose of what
exactly you have come to know over the past couple
of years. There's going to be a fleeting moment when
you're going to feel good for the most part, you're not,

(15:45):
and then there is going to be a long, even
more fir a moment in.

Speaker 1 (15:49):
Which he is completely unavailable.

Speaker 6 (15:52):
So that is what you're going to have to endure,
and that is what wears you out, and that again
is why you're in the position in which you are
to where you are into it, but not as much
into it as you used to be.

Speaker 1 (16:11):
Because last night is kind of what you expect.

Speaker 6 (16:15):
So Anthony Richardson was two of three twenty one yards
that sack the injured pinky. He goes at out, Daniel
Jones comes in. I didn't think Daniel Jones is very
good either. I just I guess I expect more and
I try to consider, and I take the cue from
Rick Venturi, who kind of explained on our pregame show

(16:36):
last night how he scores things, you know, considering it's
the preseason, and I think that he liked some of
the things that Daniel Jones did. But all in all,
this was entirely too recognizable to the group and the
team that we have seen before. And as I always

(16:57):
like to say, until further notice, I don't have much else.

Speaker 1 (16:59):
To go on.

Speaker 6 (17:00):
I can't come here and say, well, you know what,
the preseason only matters when guys play well. We have
seen over certain recent history that it really does matter
when they don't, because sometimes you never see what you
had hoped, what had been expressed, what had been described,
You never see that positively come to fruition. So again,

(17:25):
I thought across the board last night was a lot
of what we have seen in the past. There were moments,
but most of those moments got swallowed up by the
situation with Richardson, got swallowed up by a special teams unit,
a kicker that made kicks, but a kicker that kind
of looked like the kicker they got rid of last year,

(17:47):
or to a.

Speaker 1 (17:47):
Degree I guess he's cheap or whatever like that matters
to you.

Speaker 6 (17:52):
But a special teams unit that looked in absolute disarray
now a defense that struggled against the run.

Speaker 1 (18:00):
And I will remind every I know.

Speaker 6 (18:02):
I know that the front line guys, for the most part,
weren't out there. But one of these days we will
expect more. I'm not gonna hold my breath until that
day is here, but I cannot wait until you do
expect more, give me a great example, like Baltimore is
a team. We were talking to the whacker guy from

(18:25):
the Baltimore Sun a couple of days ago about Baltimore, right,
and you know, their expectation is to finally get over
that hump in the AFC. You know, regular season wise,
they have been really good and then hit.

Speaker 1 (18:38):
A speed bump.

Speaker 6 (18:40):
Pretty much every single time in the postseason, it is
super Bowl or bust for them.

Speaker 1 (18:45):
They are a good team and that's that.

Speaker 6 (18:50):
To me, is what I would like to be having
conversationally one of these days, and hopefully the not so
distant feture Sure about the Colts, Your level of disappointment,
you know, doesn't rest on what takes place in preseason
game one, But in the overall outlook of the season,

(19:12):
I thought that you saw a team coached by John
Harball that had all of its backups in there, that.

Speaker 1 (19:20):
Was pretty dialed in.

Speaker 6 (19:22):
I guess in terms of culture, no coaches talking about
culture all the time, that seems like a pretty good
culture of pretty strong culture. And you could probably say
that about those top tier teams around the AFC.

Speaker 1 (19:38):
And I could spend all this first.

Speaker 6 (19:40):
Segment, you know, ragging on Anthony Richardson and say, hey,
I told you so, this guy's never gonna make it.
You know, this has been a huge mandai or they
should have yanked it off and move forward to it.
I could do this. I'm not going to do that
after the first preseason game.

Speaker 1 (19:54):
We'll say that for later.

Speaker 6 (19:56):
We're not going to do that after the first preseason game.
It's just disappoint that so many of these other factors
that were discussing after the first preseason games are things
that we have discussed really until it makes us all
sick in recent history. And that is just where you are,

(20:17):
and that is a part of being on a treadmill.
I think like somebody had trying to described it to me,
and I don't know if this is true or not.
I don't know how you can tell any game in August,
you know, a preseason Thursday night in August. Somebody had said,

(20:38):
you know, the Ravens are showing a sense of urgency.

Speaker 1 (20:42):
Well, the Ravens have everything figured out.

Speaker 6 (20:45):
They just have other guys out there flying around trying
to make plays, trying to make a name for themselves,
and you know a lot of ways trying to make
the team, trying to make the practice squad. It just
kind of looked like the same old thing to me
with the Colts, And it may not be the exact
same thing, you know, maybe it's not been things we
have argued in the past, but I just kind of

(21:08):
looked back at the operation. I kind of wonder, when
you know, one of these days, I know it all
starts with the quarterback position. I hate to bore you
with that fact, but it does for the most part,
all start there. But that's too easy to spend all
that time on it. You know, there were bright spots,
as I mentioned Tyler Warren was certainly a bright spot.

(21:30):
Was it BATCHI that came over from Cincinnati, that had
an air sets, an athletic as held a reception.

Speaker 1 (21:35):
By the linebacker that was nice. But there was.

Speaker 6 (21:39):
Nothing really after that, positively that was that memorable or
as memorable to me as was the other aspects. And
a lot of these other aspects we've discussed over and
over again, and certainly that starts with the quarterback. So
I know, while you reserve the right to go fully
over the top until it really truly does matter, I

(22:03):
will reserve the right to get excited about anything until
it fully does matter, because that was not a product
last night I'm excited about at all. He just wasn't
not across the board again, fired up about Tyler Warren.
But at the same time, that's something I expected. Yeah,
give me a little bit of something I didn't expect,

(22:24):
and maybe that happens. Maybe that happens once you get
you know, the starters defensively in there and you get
a secondary.

Speaker 1 (22:32):
With some playmaking ability.

Speaker 6 (22:33):
Didn't make plays last night, don't get me wrong, but
a secondary with playmaking ability, and you know, I thought
Riley Leonard had some moments twelve with twenty four ninety
two yards. I just it's great that Riley Leonard has moments,
but he's the wrong dude that needs to be had.

Speaker 1 (22:48):
The other two need to be having some moments. I'll
give Daniel.

Speaker 6 (22:52):
Jones credit for credit is due. He did look like
a guy that deserved to be out there. He made
some plays, but I mean, he's been in the NFL
for a while now, I would hope, so I just
I'd even expect more out of him.

Speaker 1 (23:07):
And he had a couple of drops.

Speaker 6 (23:09):
I mean, Anthony Gould struggled with catching a cold last night,
so he did have a couple of drops. I think
that was they were both on Daniel Jones's watch. But
you know, I can't sit here also and talk about
Anthony Richardson and completion percentage and go on those numbers
and go, oh, well, look what Riley Leonard did. Yeah, hey, great,

(23:30):
I should say Daniel Jones did ten of twenty one.

Speaker 1 (23:33):
Hey, you know what I mean. And again, I know
it's a.

Speaker 6 (23:37):
Part of the operation, and that's probably what bums me
out really more than anything else. So that's where we
start today, and I do have time to take your
calls at two three, nine ten seventy. I would remind
you I don't think there's much need to shake your
fist and get pissed, but I will say this, you

(23:58):
do start now to kind of look at your watch
a little bit and wonder if we're going to see
the same damn thing once again when you could have
bailed out of somewhat all of this same damn thing
time and time again ago. Just seems like we're in
the same spot. Other teams make strides, other teams that
are good raise their bar to where they need to be,

(24:20):
and we're right here. That's what last night reminded me
of for the most part, A little bit more detailed
breakdown we'll have for you.

Speaker 1 (24:32):
Joe A.

Speaker 6 (24:32):
Erikson of The Star joins us coming up and the
five o'clock hour. James Boyd was a part of the
festivities yesterday down in Franklin. He joins us coming up
after four today, and again I want to thank everybody
that attended, everybody that was out there. I will also
thank all of you that listened because there was a
lot of stuff going on yesterday.

Speaker 1 (24:51):
With the nine hours we were all out there.

Speaker 6 (24:53):
It was so fun for us for such a great cause,
and thank you all for listening. The damn Path is happening.
The first post time is coming up at five point thirty.
So that finds me on this annual date at Harrow's
Hoosier Park Racing and Casino.

Speaker 1 (25:09):
My man, you're walking right by, aren't you.

Speaker 6 (25:12):
You're you're huh, good to see you, buddy. You're moving
well right there, huh. Well, thank you very much for
coming by. It's good to see you.

Speaker 5 (25:21):
Pal.

Speaker 6 (25:22):
You go out there, and when you lost something tonight,
oh yeah, I did all right. Well when something for
else us too, okay, don't forget about us. I love Harros,
who's your park racing at Casino? We're at Anderson. We
get a lot more for you too. Our good friend
Tony Rams is going to join us too. I mentioned
he'll talk up to Dan Patch, but also Joe A
Erikson of The Star, James Boyd joins us with the

(25:43):
Athletic and the Fan morning show, stuff to give away
and a busy weekend. I will go into full detail
about and when I mentioned he kind of gets lost
in the shuffle when you look like you did last
night and the football season Star arts, there's a certain
team that's gonna get lost to the shuffle.

Speaker 1 (26:03):
That's what I've mentioned before. I hate to warn people.

Speaker 6 (26:05):
About what I'm going to be right about, but I'm
gonna be right about it quick breaking. We shall return
Harris Hoozia park Racing at Casino and Anderson.

Speaker 1 (26:13):
You can look at me right now.

Speaker 6 (26:15):
We're inside the Triple A Membership Lounge via YouTube live
participated two three nine ten seventy the stream of the
app AHD Radio ninety three five and one oh seven
five A.

Speaker 7 (26:24):
Fan the Ride with JMV. There's a kid in my
class that kind of boner at t Heat High School.

Speaker 1 (26:33):
He was wearing sweat pants. Is really embarrassing. So this
song goes out to him.

Speaker 7 (26:36):
Ninety three five and one oh seven five.

Speaker 5 (26:39):
The fan, Anthony Richardson goes out of the gun ball
in ear hash backs to throw and he is deck
from the left and he is sacked and buried.

Speaker 1 (26:48):
He took a big.

Speaker 5 (26:49):
Time hit, but more importantly hangs on to the football
and the ravens with a sack off the left edge.

Speaker 8 (26:56):
And he's going off the field.

Speaker 1 (26:57):
Matt.

Speaker 8 (26:57):
He got hit unobated. There was no one blocking, The
protection was totally not there. You had a back releasing
in the backfield and they were going one way and
you can't have her quarterback take that shot.

Speaker 5 (27:10):
That's David a Jabo going into his fourth year. And
like you said, Anthony Richardson is out of the game.
That was a wicked hit as a Jabo just kind
of earhold Richardson, who was not looking to his right,
he was looking left and a Jabo hit him from
that left edge of the defense, if you will, so,
Daniel Jones is now playing quarterback for the Colts.

Speaker 6 (27:34):
Matt Taylor and Charles Arbocal from the Colts Radio Network.
I think from here on out and listen. Hopefully there
is zero need. I'm trying to give you a little
bit of hope and certainly the understanding that it is
a preseason game.

Speaker 1 (27:50):
But this is not a new path.

Speaker 6 (27:54):
So I'm assuming every time something like that happens to
Anthony Richardson, are we going to reference it as ojabo?

Speaker 1 (28:02):
I think so.

Speaker 6 (28:04):
An ojabo not a sack, you know, not getting injured.
But here's your ojabo. I just I want it. I mean,
even if it is we've had moments during the regular
season where you get that feel like something's going to change,

(28:24):
but holy have they last for like five seconds?

Speaker 1 (28:28):
Now, then you have to endure this type of stuff.

Speaker 6 (28:31):
Even after a preseason game number one, there is zero
These guys are going out there and running around. There
is more put into it as far as what to
recognize and what to go against when they're doing the
joint practice stuff. Rick Venturi will tell you that there's more.

(28:52):
And I mean this is how I mean. Hell, this
is like a glorified scrimmage last night. All you want
him to do is to maintain and to look good
in a glorified scrimmage.

Speaker 1 (29:08):
That's it. We don't give a damn about the final score.

Speaker 6 (29:13):
I mean, clearly, we don't give a damn about the
stats because everybody's thinking, Daniel Jones look great, and I mean,
hell tit of twenty one.

Speaker 1 (29:22):
We're gonna have to have another.

Speaker 6 (29:23):
Completion percentage conversation. And frankly, I am sick and tired
of it. You should have been like you should have
been hell well, I mean with the drops, how many
drops were there last night, Daniel Jones, you should have
been like nineteen of twenty one. And then we factor
around that couple of times. He threw it to Anthony Gould,

(29:46):
and man, that was a struggle. Glad that dude is
fast on special teams. Because he brought the salad tongs
with him last night, he wasn't catching anything.

Speaker 1 (29:58):
Anyway.

Speaker 6 (29:59):
We do realize where we are, but that doesn't mean
we don't discuss where we are. I swear to you,
I could have probably reaped a show this time last year.

Speaker 1 (30:11):
It is incredible. I am.

Speaker 6 (30:14):
I'm right there with you, though I'm really over it now.
I'm over all of this. I hope one of these days.
And I've said this before, I mean, I value your
opinions on here. Some of you are jackasses, but I
think for the most part, we're talking with some sharp
folks that call on the show.

Speaker 1 (30:33):
Well maybe not all, but some, but I know by
now you.

Speaker 6 (30:41):
See and understand what you see, and a lot of
you were a little bit confused last night because listen,
you might feel like there's this battleground between those that
don't like Richardson and those that do like Richardson.

Speaker 1 (30:59):
Uh huh.

Speaker 6 (31:00):
There's not those that that would suggest that Richardson is
not the guy or has for the past year plus.

Speaker 1 (31:09):
They just want somebody to be the guy, that's all.

Speaker 6 (31:14):
You're just looking for positivity for goodness sake at that position. Seriously,
I kind of have written off Riley Leonard from last night.
I would rather watch that, but I mean, he was
just a fifty fifty completion percent if you're looking at
that number. I know we're not looking at numbers, but again,

(31:36):
if you're going to have this battle or this debate
over the quarterback situation, this is just absolutely endless. You
would expect guys to go out there against second, third, fourth,
fifth stringers and just be able to throw frozen ropes,
be able to execute I mean, these were named, recognizable

(31:58):
guys that were out there well it's the offensive line's fault.
It's the coaching staff's fault. I mean I pretty much
knew who was playing on the offensive line. I mean,
if it was the by the way, Richardson is the
one that owned it after the game, I knew the

(32:18):
guys that weren't making plays. That's what's problematic. That is
what's problematic. And unfortunately, that is where we are right
now with this team. As I always say, and wear
you out on it until further notice, that is where

(32:40):
we are. Hey, not to mention until further notice. Here's
where we are Harrisousure Park, racing at Casino. We are
in Anderson. The Dan patch is coming up. The first
post time is later on this afternoon, at five thirty today,
so we cannot wait for that. Got a lot of
notes here to talk up, Jamie. The Colts don't look

(33:02):
any different because their training camps are soft and with
reduced practice times. Half of the time they're standing around
cutting up. I just just say operational. I think it
looks the same because it's operational. I remember times when
we thought that under Bill Polani and Tony Dungee that
camps there was a lot of standing around and not

(33:24):
a lot getting done.

Speaker 1 (33:25):
But it didn't look like this. That's why I say operational.

Speaker 6 (33:30):
I mean, I don't know what these guys, you know,
we don't see a lot of certainly what they do
in other practice settings, what they do outside of that
hour and a half practice window in preparation for it.
I just know that even in the preseason game one,
I expected to be a little bit more consistent considering

(33:51):
your opposition than.

Speaker 1 (33:52):
What you got last night. Yeah.

Speaker 6 (33:56):
I'm not trying to be disappointed after a first preseason game,
but I thought that pretty much stunk last night. As
a Colts fan and in general a sports fan, I'm
bored with hearing what a physical specimen Anthony Richardson is
and how high the ceiling is. His physical prowess has
meant nothing. We have no idea what his ceiling is.

(34:18):
Right now he is in the cellar, I will I think,
to me, what was just written there is pretty accurate.
As a quarterback. I'm not going to tell you we
don't have an idea what he is. The unfortunate circumstances
would be if we have an idea what he is,

(34:39):
we know what he is. It's up to him to
change our mind. And that's why I say all the
time I sit here and I'm excited about being proven wrong.
One of these days, for the love of all that
is holy, prove my ass wrong. Stay healthy, make plays,

(35:01):
be productive, be efficient.

Speaker 1 (35:06):
You never can do that. And it doesn't matter.

Speaker 6 (35:11):
If it's after a preseason game one or regular season
game ten, after sitting out and realizing, by the way,
less than a year ago, once you have to do
to play the position. You know what, you know what
your responsibilities are. That was less than a year ago.

(35:34):
So unfortunately, all those the one or two or three
half court makes, it doesn't make up for all the
other stuff. And you know, if you're pro Anthony Richardson,
and I hear it a lot. I mean, there's still
a ton of you out there. But if you're pro
Anthony Richardson, you know that's what you're going on.

Speaker 1 (35:54):
You're going on.

Speaker 6 (35:56):
You know that, uh Natasha Howard shot last night from
half court? Remember sure you don't at the end of
the half last night, then cut the lead to eleven
something like that little half court shot, and then you
saw the outcome of the game. See that, to me
is early reminiscent of what we're talking about right here
with the quarterback. Yeah, you'll make a half court shot

(36:20):
and end up losing everything else by a substantial margin.
And that's what we talk about. Fans do get a
little bit tired of it around here, and listen, you
guys are paying the price of admission, so i'd understand
exactly why you may be tired of it at this
point in time.

Speaker 1 (36:37):
Hey, James, back at the studio.

Speaker 6 (36:39):
Fulton is reporting on the social media platform x that
Pat Sullomon colled and Pat is not coming on the
show today, just so you know.

Speaker 1 (36:49):
Well, that's good to be good to be made. Yes,
you are updated. I appreciate it. Fulton BT says.

Speaker 6 (36:57):
This is kind of like rooting for the Reds. I
would imagine that there are similarities between the Baseball red
I guess I should know because I'm a Reds fan
and this right here. But I think what it is
here is you would expect at some point, doesn't everybody

(37:17):
kind of dig out of it in the NFL If
you're buried in Major League Baseball, and you know, we've
seen in the past and question you know whether or
not you have an organization that really truly wants to
dig out of that hole that has been dug. You
can do it in the NFL, and you could do
it with better decisions, savvy decisions.

Speaker 1 (37:37):
They just have not gotten it done. All right. I
want to do some calls at two, three.

Speaker 6 (37:41):
Nine, ten, seventy from you, hey, the final score twenty
four to sixteen of no consequence. We're talking about the
good and the bad. I will give Riley Leonard credit
because in comparison, and he made some plays, but all

(38:03):
that really truly does matter starts with the quarterback position.
And I didn't think too much of that Ainka in
preseason game number one. Hopefully it will all change. Yeah,
Ashton Dooland played well in Ashton Doolan is somebody who'd
expect to play well. He's been around there forever. And

(38:23):
I fully expect Tyler Warren.

Speaker 1 (38:25):
To be really good.

Speaker 6 (38:27):
I do one of these days, I want to see
a d Mitchell like be what everybody describes a d
Mitchell as being in practice, or at least recently, not
like the early descriptions of a d Mitchell in practice.
Hunter Wohler, who I think is going to be on
with the Fellas coming up in Colt's Happy Hour. Nine
total tackles who else? Yeah, Eric Johnson had a pick

(38:55):
a couple of past plays defended last night again to
give credit where credit is due. But all in all, yeah,
I guess the kicking game yet. Joe Bachi shout out
with that interception. I thought that was an athletic interception
without question, and Spencer Schrader was very close to I thought,

(39:17):
and I think that's a good thing. Yeah, fifty plus
you got to have it in this era of the NFL,
and you got to have it consistently. But I thought
the good part about Spencer Schrader last night as the
very least, he looked like what you had in Matt Gay.
Now he looks like somebody that inside of fifty is
going to be counted on. But the problem is, in

(39:39):
this era of the NFL, you have to count on
it consistently beyond fifty. We'll see where that goes. Harris
Hoosha Park Racing and Casino and Anderson Tony Ram's going
to join us coming up on the other side, James.

Speaker 1 (39:50):
Boy Top of the Hour, Joel A.

Speaker 6 (39:52):
Erickson of The Star still to join and two, three, nine,
ten seventy your calls to respond to last night's pre
he's in game number one with your thoughts on Naughty
three five and one seven five fan.

Speaker 7 (40:07):
The ride with JMV. Look at all I'm ninety three
five and one oh seven five the fans.

Speaker 6 (40:14):
Oh, Tony Rins, Thank you, Minus Mouse, flaming e lips
Augers the eleventh. That's a Monday everwise Amphitheater number nine
two three, nine ten seven. You can go on us
gonna be a great show for you.

Speaker 1 (40:27):
If you're on hold, I'm gonna get to you.

Speaker 6 (40:29):
I'm gonna recognize you by name right now as well,
because I feel it necessary. Anthony, Grant and Joe do
not go anywhere, because I got plenty of time to
yip yap with you guys coming up in just a
second meantime joining us here. Go ahead and mount up
right there, Tony Rins. You know how this procedure goes.
Put that little microphone in front of your grill right there.

Speaker 1 (40:51):
Let's go to work. Are you ready?

Speaker 3 (40:54):
I'm not here?

Speaker 1 (40:54):
No, what's one? We got here?

Speaker 9 (40:56):
We go?

Speaker 1 (40:56):
I got you now, you got me? Tony Wrens is here?
How you doing? Brother man?

Speaker 3 (41:00):
I am fantastic, John. You know I was driving up
I've run a little late. I was coming from the
State Fair. Yes, and I'm trying to get back down
there tomorrow night and watch you a little bit.

Speaker 6 (41:09):
Well, you got to get down there to the taper
into We're gonna make it like dance Party USA.

Speaker 3 (41:13):
I got my little pertformers out.

Speaker 1 (41:15):
I'm gonna go ahead and get my hair all awkwin
ended up.

Speaker 6 (41:17):
I'm want to peg my jeans a little bit, maybe
even what some parachute pants there you going thinking?

Speaker 3 (41:22):
You know what I did hear you say on the
way up is you're gonna give your last breath to radio.

Speaker 1 (41:28):
I am.

Speaker 3 (41:28):
And I've got to compliment you because I've done some
presentations that maybe go an hour and when I'm done,
my voice is shot. Yeah, And you're doing three hours
and some days five six hours, and then Sunday Coach
are doing nine hours. I can't tell you how you
do it.

Speaker 1 (41:44):
There are people out there in radio.

Speaker 6 (41:47):
Among all these other ways to get contests are the
most prevalent. But people want to see the effort, to
hear the effort, and to be a part of the effort.
And that's what we deliver with this show five days
a week and on Saturday night and until somebody runs
me over on the street, or I may live forever,

(42:09):
who knows, but until that final day, That's how I'm
going to do it because I don't know how to
do it any other way.

Speaker 3 (42:15):
You do it well.

Speaker 6 (42:16):
It's like when you're a team and you find something
that works for you, you go with that something. That's
why I talk about Kurt Signetti all the time. He
has found something that has worked with JMU and with
IU and you roll into that. As Tin Cup famously said,
you ride it until at Bucksha or you never write
at all. That's exactly what we're gonna do. So thank

(42:36):
you very much. That is a nice compliment you give
speaking of that. The dan Patch is a big weekend
right here post time five thirty I think for the
first later off.

Speaker 3 (42:44):
The five point thirty for the first It looks like
the dan Patch race itself is probably somewhere around ten
fifteen to ten thirty. That's a three hundred thousand dollars perse.
That is the richest race in the state of Indiana
that we're going to race tonight, and we've got a
total of eleven horses going at it and it should
be fantastic.

Speaker 1 (43:05):
Yeah, it is a history of being fantastic too.

Speaker 6 (43:09):
I just saw, actually, I saw an interesting article that
goes back you guys have framed up in the Atlanta
Journal Constitution that goes back decades upon decades.

Speaker 3 (43:18):
That goes back to the original the Dan Patch. The
horse born here in Oxford, Indiana.

Speaker 1 (43:22):
That's awesome.

Speaker 3 (43:23):
And back when he was racing, it was he was
the first athlete out there to have sponsorships and nil
money and so forth. They were doing matches, washing machines,
car parts were named after him, you name it, and
he had a following one he raced, there'd be one
hundred thousand people shootout to watch him.

Speaker 6 (43:44):
Well, we're going to talk about more with Tony rins
You're going to hang around for resolutely.

Speaker 1 (43:48):
Tony Wrens is going to hang around.

Speaker 6 (43:50):
We're right here as you enter at Herisga Park Racing
and Casino and Anderson. We do have the Race of
the Day coming up a little bit later on, but
the Dan Patch is today and that first post is
at five thirty. More with Tony Rinz on the other side,
James Boyd coming up your calls, as I mentioned, Joel
Erickson and more reaction to last night. As we're live

(44:12):
from Harrows Hoosia Park, Racing at Casino and Anderson and
I'm not going to forget about you, Sids and Noblesville
Bran another gang.

Speaker 1 (44:19):
I'm coming for you a little bit later on tonight
as well.

Speaker 6 (44:22):
I'll explain Howard two straight Ahead on ninety three to
five and one oh seven.

Speaker 7 (44:25):
Five The Fan, The Ride with JMV. Hippy Kaye Mister
Falcon ninety three five and one oh seven five The Fan.

Speaker 5 (44:37):
Colt Are three for eleven tonight is a team on
third down, low snap for Ryley Leonard digs it out
that was gonna step up in the pocket and take
off in Ron twenty fifteen ten. He's got a first
down and is pushed out of balance around the five
yard line.

Speaker 1 (44:50):
Quarterback scramble Riley Leonard.

Speaker 5 (44:53):
He picks up twenty one yards Now it'll be first
in goal coming up for the Colts.

Speaker 1 (44:58):
Riley Leonard.

Speaker 6 (44:59):
Last night, Matt Taylor on the call there along with
Charles Rbuckle from the Colts Radio Network.

Speaker 1 (45:05):
Now standing job. Here's what I really loved.

Speaker 6 (45:07):
I loved having Rick Venturi on yesterday for not one,
not two, but three segments on the Colts pre game
Hodle dig In every second of that. Tony Rinz rejoins
in a second Herrisosia Park Racing and Casino and Anders
and the Dan Patch is coming up later on this
afternoon early evening. We're here for it. Derek is here,

(45:29):
rock of the JMV Sucks T shirt, which is outstanding,
and Anthony joins us with a little Colts preseason game one
reaction before we get to James Boyd.

Speaker 1 (45:39):
Hello, Anthony, how are you John?

Speaker 9 (45:41):
I'm doing great.

Speaker 6 (45:42):
How are you doing, Anthony? I'm fantastic. Thank you for
asking go ahead.

Speaker 4 (45:48):
I wanted to talk about the game last night, and
I know I pulled him before and talked about Chris Bowers,
so I'm not going to talk about it this time.
But I've heard you talk about Shane Stiken for and
I have a very hands off approach to him because
he was brand new.

Speaker 9 (46:05):
But starting midway through.

Speaker 4 (46:06):
Last year, I started to have questions and starting to
have more questions about mister Steikan. Uh yeah, I uh,
I just I don't see the team prepared or we
had what one hundred and seven yards and penalties last night?
That's one hundred percent on coaching. And you know he
gets up there in press conferences and acts like he's

(46:28):
Bill Belichick's two point zero, you know, with his uh,
with his non answers about everything. I think it's important
to point out the Colts fans that the Eagles didn't
mit the beat offensively without him, And I just wanted
to get your thoughts on it, and that's all. And hey,
you know what, we have some bad feelings about the Colts,
but let's have a good weekend, everybody.

Speaker 9 (46:51):
Thank you.

Speaker 1 (46:51):
We're gonna have one hell laciously awesome.

Speaker 6 (46:53):
Especially if you get out the dance part of the
USA and the tap room with me tomorrow out of
the jav takeover.

Speaker 1 (46:59):
That's your weekend.

Speaker 6 (47:00):
Go to right there, brother, Okay, Anthony, get out there
and uh, like I used to say, like bring like
a thousand chicks. That's why I used to say at
my parties at India, the state charge the dudes, chicks
get in free.

Speaker 1 (47:13):
You know how genius? That was genius.

Speaker 6 (47:17):
He mentioned Shane Steichen, and yet Shane's Shane Steichen. There
are some things we could go, hey, wow, you blame
the quarterback and Richardson for the sack. You could blame
Stiking for him being out there with a line full

(47:40):
of backups, even though I recognize the names of guys
that are out there.

Speaker 1 (47:47):
You know, he mentioned the penalties.

Speaker 6 (47:50):
This and you know this is something that this is
going to be on lou Anroumo, Shane Steiking and everybody here.
My god, these guys can't tackle anybody.

Speaker 1 (48:00):
Why is that?

Speaker 6 (48:02):
I know, because they don't have their starters in But
when he mentioned, you know, Shane Styke and things that
also get tagged, and rightly so to the coach, that
they don't do well. These are fairly profound things. Panal
these lack of execution, all this stuff, and it really
doesn't matter if it's preseason game one or regular season

(48:23):
game ten.

Speaker 1 (48:25):
This all seems to happen, and it all happened. This
is what they do. See.

Speaker 6 (48:30):
This is who they are until we told or I
almost said turd, until we are told further. This is
who they are until they're out of this. They're really
more known for that than anything else. All these shortcomings

(48:52):
and things that get you fired, get most fired, get
a change in regime, get guys cut again. Preseason game
number one, but oftentimes this is sort of the same
stuff you see during the regular season. Anyway, Anthony had

(49:12):
a point right there, Tony rams in a second. But
on the Andy Moore Automotive Group hootline from the Athletic
and the Fan Morning show, he was outstanding. Also shooting
a little hoop with me yesterday, and he's going to
be good to go for a little five on five
run coming up on Sunday morning at Southport High School.

Speaker 1 (49:29):
Correct, James Boyd, that is correct.

Speaker 10 (49:32):
Thank god, the calls that practice in the afternoon.

Speaker 6 (49:35):
Finally, my brother, my brother, we're going, I believe, and
it will be at sale be Southport or Center Grove Central,
one of the two, but we will pick him up
and put him down coming up on Sunday morning. Hey,
great effort by you yesterday too. Makes you proud to
be around everybody that we work with, does it not?
In a situation liking Franklin at Legend yesterday?

Speaker 10 (49:58):
Absolutely, I got to a lot of you know, names,
will faces, you know he get on the email list
and I'm like, I don't know who happy people are.

Speaker 9 (50:05):
So it was good.

Speaker 10 (50:06):
To be out there and also mingle with the listeners
who wouldn't you know, I wouldn't have the opportunity without them.
So it's always pretty cool.

Speaker 1 (50:13):
All right.

Speaker 6 (50:14):
Thoughts about last night. He owned up to it being
his mistake. How much of it do you put it
all on Richardson? Is there some on stiking? And we're
still it doesn't really matter for it's preseason game one
or week number ten. A lot of this stuff that
we saw that were critical about today is stuff that
happens regardless of the time of the season.

Speaker 1 (50:35):
With this Colts team.

Speaker 10 (50:37):
Absolutely, I think the majority of the blame has to
fall on Richardson. From what I understand, the protection or.

Speaker 11 (50:44):
The defensive recognition he should have had in the moment
is something that a lot of quarterbacks that I was
reading today that have played in the NFL, we're saying
a pretty simple adjustment.

Speaker 10 (50:55):
Now. Obviously, players make mistakes, but the confounding part for
Anthony is that he might have made that mistake because
he hasn't had a ton of reps and then he
gets knocked out of the game, and what if he
missing more reps. So I only had six snaps last night,
really seven because they had one play called back. But
I'll feel for the young man, but I'm also happy
that he did not suffer a bigger injury.

Speaker 9 (51:17):
JMZ.

Speaker 10 (51:18):
You know, just okay, the finger looks pretty bad early on,
but I personally felt like it wasn't that bad because
he didn't freak out. If he had broken his finger,
I think he would have been like less calm than
he was on the sideline and probably would would have
went back to the locker room to get checked out
a even further.

Speaker 6 (51:34):
Yeah, I just to me, it's kind of more about
the same old, same ole. That makes sense, all right,
lack of efficiency, bad decisions, unavailability. I mean, it's all
kind of the same thing, and this is all kind
of rolled into one for him. He's most been known
for at least those three things, if not beyond absolutely, I.

Speaker 9 (51:57):
Think the biggest thing among those three things.

Speaker 10 (51:59):
Is then availability, the injury prone nature of his career,
And that bottom line is for Anthony, you know, great person,
great human, and the coach believe he can be a
great player, but the thing that holds him back more
than anything is that he can't stay on the field
for a sended period of time. And even though last
night was probably pretty minor and in the regular season game,
perhaps he goes back in. It's just the fact that

(52:21):
we're having this conversation again, Dan, But I feel like
you can pick any day of the year, any game,
like you said, and we're having this conversation about the
guy not being available, and at some point that's.

Speaker 9 (52:33):
Going to dominate anything else you do.

Speaker 10 (52:34):
Because what's the best availability or ability is availability. As
my high school coach always said.

Speaker 1 (52:40):
Well, I'm going to put this again.

Speaker 6 (52:42):
We had to call her Anthony bringing up Shane Steichen,
and I'm going to also put this on on just
where organizationally they are.

Speaker 1 (52:50):
These are all the same things.

Speaker 6 (52:53):
And we're talking about the quarterback situation, which is the same,
but you know, penalties, mistackle, missed assignments, and certainly kind
of a new wrinkle was just how awful special teams
were outside of you know, the new kicking situation last night.

Speaker 1 (53:11):
I mean, a lot of these things we're talking about.

Speaker 6 (53:14):
As I mentioned a little bit earlier, it didn't matter
if it's preseason, in game one. I mean, hell, it
could come in the middle of the regular season. And
it's still really what this Colt's organization is most noted
for right now, which is highly unfortunate.

Speaker 10 (53:29):
Yeah, I mean they're known for being mediocre, they're known
for not really winning as of late. I know, the
Lake Jimmers love to mention being in the upper quartile.
But those days are gone, man. Honestly, you know, since
I've moved to Andy in twenty twenty one, the Colts
that I have known and watched for the last few
years very intently obviously just living here now is a
team that isn't good and consistently isn't good.

Speaker 9 (53:51):
So I think last night.

Speaker 10 (53:54):
Was not really I guess you could said step forward,
because you got out.

Speaker 9 (53:57):
There for a real game, you can see what you
can correct.

Speaker 10 (53:59):
But there were certainly some reflax throughout that, some positive
stuff as well, you know, Tyler Warren being one of
those positive about Ady Mitchell had some nice moments as well.
Even Danie Jones had.

Speaker 9 (54:09):
A couple of nice throws there.

Speaker 10 (54:11):
But overall, yeah, I wouldn't imagine the saying second is
too pleased with the execution part of it, because that's
you know, pre snap penalties and things like that. They
just can't afford those because they're not a team that
can really survive in some of those third and long,
second and long situations. They're a team that needs every
single year that they can get because the quarterback play,
in my opinion, jamb isn't good enough to really get

(54:32):
you out of a bunch of jams.

Speaker 6 (54:35):
And it isn't expected to be good enough to get
you out of these gems as well. You know you
mentioned Warren. I mentioned him. I expected that. I think
most of us did too. I'm probably gonna butcher his
last name, but Tuumo Alawa. I thought he looked good
up until he got injured. Obviously, I thought he looked
he looked really good. So you had a couple of
rookies that pop. Maybe Hunter Wohler is a guy in

(54:57):
the secondary that people were talking about. Any Granted, there
are guys that weren't out there that you expect a
lot more defensively, but man, the one thing that has
been a carryover so far from what has been regimed
or regime from a defensive coordinator angle has been, hey,
they missed some tackles, and they miss some tackles in

(55:18):
a profound way.

Speaker 10 (55:20):
James, Yeah, I thought the run defense yesterday was not
good at all. And again, for those listening, I'm not
telling you something you don't know, but they're not using
they're souped up offenses or defenses in preseason games. Honestly,
you probably see a lot more wrinkles in the joint
practices and even then you're hold back. So all that

(55:41):
in mind, I just think that it's kind of embarrassing
to have the tackling effort that you've had on display
last night. And I do wonder does that put a
little bit of a bug in Chris Ballard's head to say, man,
maybe we do need to go get a veteran to
perhaps help that room, or someone who's proven they can
be a starter in this league, because right now, the

(56:01):
only proven starter in the room is iire Franklin. He's
coming back from left ankle surgery, he's still rehaving But
the rest of them, I mean, Cameron mcgrome had a
great opportunity last night to kind of show that hey,
I'm a starty caliber linebacker in this league. I thought
he struggled to fit some of the runs games. I
thought all the linebackers kind of did so not great
from a tackling standpoint, like you said, because the Ravens

(56:21):
did't do anything specially, They just ran the ball. And
then secondly, you know that special teams unit, Man, like
the angles they had and from of those kickoff returns,
punt returns, it's unacceptable, and I know Brian Mason probably
was freaking out because he's a very serious guy, and
I send him to get that corrected pretty quickly.

Speaker 6 (56:37):
Hey, next two days, Jase Boyd, by the way, joins
us something Andy Moore Auto Motorcroup potline man. The Derek White,
whom I know you know very well, just brought over
a bucket full of ice cold beer for me.

Speaker 1 (56:49):
James Boyd, Is that a good friend or what? Right there? Pal?

Speaker 2 (56:53):
What do you think?

Speaker 9 (56:53):
Yeah, he's a very nice guy.

Speaker 10 (56:55):
Had to have me sign this PDR pitcher the other day,
so I think I was the last one under the
bunch to get my finisher on there. So I was,
I guess, surrounded by greatness in that regard.

Speaker 1 (57:06):
D D. White is in the house.

Speaker 6 (57:09):
That's James Boyd to the Fan morning show, sav I
did till today. If you can catch him weekday mornings
Monday through Friday here on the fan. He's on the
Anymore Automotive Group potline. So a lot has been asking me.
So the assumption here, and I know you got a
couple of days of practice. You mentioned that Saturday and
Sunday for the Colts. I'm assuming that the whole starter

(57:29):
and the rep mentality is going to be flipped considering
the circumstances of richardson last night and what they had thought,
and maybe flip for game number two coming up a
week from tomorrow against Green Bay.

Speaker 9 (57:41):
I would think so, but I'm not so sure.

Speaker 10 (57:43):
I'm very curious to see how Anthony hand responds to,
you know, having the finger dislocated and put back in.
From what I understand, he had some X rays done
on it and he finds the day to.

Speaker 9 (57:54):
Day a little bit sore.

Speaker 10 (57:55):
But you know, what does that look like? Do they
limit him at all tomorrow? And you do have three
straight practices, So I'm thinking do you limit on tomorrow
and kind of wrap him up Sunday and Monday before
you have from off days Tuesday and Wednesday, and then
going into the joint practice Thursday. So I'm also curious
Dan bid like because of the joint practice on that Thursday,

(58:15):
depending on how many reps each quarterback gets, does that,
you know, change your mind? Do you stick with your
original plane? Having Dangel Jones start, do you flip it?
I mean, there's a lot of questions you have to have,
but this is what happens when Anthony Richardson is involved,
you kind of have to get creative because it never really.

Speaker 9 (58:31):
Goes as it's supposed to go or as it's planning.

Speaker 10 (58:33):
Unfortunately.

Speaker 6 (58:35):
Yeah, James Wood with us, I still say this, he's
going to be that Week one starter. Like you mentioned
a couple of nice throws by Daniel Jones, he didn't
come in and there's no oh wow for me. I mean,
he kind of did what I think he's capable and
should be capable of doing, and you know, nothing really

(58:57):
more than that.

Speaker 1 (58:58):
What say you?

Speaker 9 (59:00):
Yeah, I would agree. I was saying he had a
couple of nice shros.

Speaker 10 (59:02):
Now I can follow it up by saying he had
a couple of nights not.

Speaker 9 (59:04):
So nice throws from drops in there as well.

Speaker 10 (59:07):
But I think to Daniel Jones experience yesterday was kind
of what I've come to expect. He's okay to you know,
possibly slightly above average quarterback in the NFL. I mean,
if you're looking back at that one season they made
the playoff with the Giants, but I was a surprise
best performance at all. And I do agree with you, JAMV.
I think that Anthony Richardson field will start Week one,
barring a severe injury, because in my opinion, if you

(59:30):
bench him before the season starts, if you tell him
you don't have a chance to be our guy to
start the season, I think you're telling him that this
the end. Now people can debate on when will be
his last game for the franchise or what that would
look like, but effectively that would be the end of
the Anthony Richardson era because to me, you're telling him
I don't believe in you, and we're gonna roll with
this other guy, who, by the way, isn't our long

(59:52):
term answer either because he's on a one year.

Speaker 9 (59:53):
Deal, so it's a lot of stakes. But again, Anthony cannot.

Speaker 10 (59:57):
Continue to have these setbacks physically. Otherwise Daniel Jones is
going to win a job by the fault. I mean,
you had a shoulder in the spring to shut you down,
got a finger last night. You don't need to have
anything else happening before now in the season.

Speaker 6 (01:00:11):
All Right, I mentioned this Spencer Strader I thought did
kind of what he needed to do. He didn't like
go consistently. Had that miss from what fifty plus I
think whatever it was.

Speaker 1 (01:00:23):
Yeah, had a long hit from fifty three.

Speaker 6 (01:00:26):
That's okay, But he didn't kind of remind me of
what they had, I guess at a cheaper version, right
with Strader.

Speaker 1 (01:00:35):
Did he remind you of that last night? A little bit,
Matt Gay but cheaper.

Speaker 2 (01:00:39):
Yeah.

Speaker 10 (01:00:39):
I think that was their whole point, is that they
couldn't justify paying Matt Gay the money he was making.
I think at the time of his contract he signed
the biggest three agent deal ever for a kicker NFL history,
and obviously the last two years if he didn't live
up to that, A lot of his big issues were
on field goal of fifty plus yards.

Speaker 9 (01:00:56):
I believe he was like eleven of twenty.

Speaker 10 (01:00:58):
Two over his seasons with the Colts kickings and fifty
plus and obviously they want to be a little bit
better in that area. And I think that Spincer Schert
took a step forward last night, especially after jam V
He missed a long field goal in the last two
minute drill in the joint practice this past Tuesday, and
I was wondering if that will wear on his mind
a little bit. But stepped up there first kick fifty

(01:01:18):
three yards on the money, and obviously you want to
see him, you know, delivered that final kick as well.
But overall, I think that was a step in.

Speaker 9 (01:01:25):
The right direction for him, and he easily is the kicker.

Speaker 10 (01:01:27):
I mean match Trahiel, the undrafted rookie out of Temple.
He's not going to win the job. He has no
chance to win the job.

Speaker 9 (01:01:32):
Now the question.

Speaker 10 (01:01:33):
Becomes ificial trade of your guy or do you, you know,
go out get somebody else that he's struggled.

Speaker 6 (01:01:38):
So Khalel Herbert to veteran is obviously in a camp
battle right now, and he can do some other things
as well. What do you think about his long term
prowess in making this roster when the training camp is complete, I.

Speaker 9 (01:01:54):
Think it's crowded.

Speaker 10 (01:01:56):
It might be a little difficult to make that room
because I'm looking at the other running You have Jonn
Taylor obviously, who's a lot to make the roster. You
have DJ Giddens, who I think has you know, been
in the rotation in that running back room and getting
more repent with the second string unit, Nikolae Herbert, then
f Tayler Goodson, who's also you know, familiar with the
offense and offers some special team's ability. So I just

(01:02:18):
it depends on how many running backs you're trying to
keep but I would have Khalil Herbert probably behind those three.
I just listed because to me, they offer you a
little bit more and there's some more familiarity there as well,
outside of DJ Giddon's.

Speaker 6 (01:02:31):
The rookie James Boyd with Andy Moore on a motive
group plotline. Before I let you go, any other thoughts
as far as we can do, thoughts on that or
the fever last two games where they can't guard you
or I that was a struggle.

Speaker 9 (01:02:46):
Yeah, I'll go fever on the last one.

Speaker 10 (01:02:47):
I just think that one. Last night's game was kind
of an anomaly. Bad defense, horrible offense, fifty points. You
can't win like that in the WNBA. But big picture wise,
zamb you just wonder how much this team can withstand.

Speaker 9 (01:03:00):
They continue to have bodies just dropping.

Speaker 10 (01:03:02):
I mean, Helen Sark's has been out for a while now,
and then on top of that, you got some issues,
you know, popping up with Aaron McDonald and her foot
I believe a foot ankle, and then Sydney Holton had
knee injury as.

Speaker 9 (01:03:11):
Well, So they need some point guards out there. Dom
I need to do. Do you wanna man South?

Speaker 1 (01:03:16):
No, I'm doing.

Speaker 6 (01:03:19):
Yeah, you know, I'm I'm almost hesitant to bring anything
like that up because you never know what you're getting
into nowadays, right when you're bringing that up.

Speaker 1 (01:03:28):
So, yeah, it's funny.

Speaker 10 (01:03:30):
It was a joke, just a joke, you know.

Speaker 1 (01:03:32):
I will say this. You know I've never seen Jawanna Man,
not a second of it.

Speaker 9 (01:03:38):
Well, I'll be.

Speaker 10 (01:03:39):
Honest, I've seen the movie a couple of times. You're
not missing anything. I feel like it's something to know,
like for a cultural you know, maybe i'll quick question
or something.

Speaker 9 (01:03:47):
If you're a tributing right off, Yeah, you ain't missing nothing.

Speaker 1 (01:03:50):
Brother, right on, Hey, Sunday morning, eight am.

Speaker 6 (01:03:54):
Are you down? Am I gonna I'm gonna put you in?
Is marked us in? Okay?

Speaker 10 (01:03:58):
Marked us in? Yeah, you know clown me on the radio?

Speaker 9 (01:04:02):
No more. So I'm gonna beat it.

Speaker 1 (01:04:03):
Well, I'm gonna beat we.

Speaker 6 (01:04:04):
We can't have any last minute bailings because that that'll
get you clown.

Speaker 1 (01:04:08):
I do that to everybody in the group, everybody.

Speaker 10 (01:04:10):
I don't have any you know, I don't have any
games to cover.

Speaker 9 (01:04:13):
I think I'm well rested.

Speaker 10 (01:04:14):
So I'm looking forward to it.

Speaker 6 (01:04:16):
And uh unbeaten? Was I yesterday in the shooting context.

Speaker 12 (01:04:22):
By the way, Huh they told me you said one low.

Speaker 1 (01:04:27):
No, I don't know who told you that. That's inaccurate
as hell.

Speaker 6 (01:04:31):
Okay, okay, unbeaten, unbeaten buddy, all right, Sunday morning.

Speaker 10 (01:04:37):
All right, I'll see it's.

Speaker 6 (01:04:39):
Uh James Boyd of The Athletic, of the fed Morning
Show seven until ten am here weekday mornings on the fan, Unbeaten.
There are a couple of videos out there and these
are one takes that the one there was a multi take,
but I don't it was going to fed Mada because
I thought fed Mada would be and I still have

(01:05:00):
eligibility remaining, would be a need for something like me.
And all the Butler guys came by, you know, Nick
Gardner was there, so I think Scott Roebish was a
part of it, Mike Freeman and for a what's up John?
And for whatever reason, I couldn't knock it down for
the video, We're trying to do something live for that month.

Speaker 1 (01:05:17):
I kept blanking it up.

Speaker 6 (01:05:19):
But otherwise I felt really good yesterday, especially after one
over and put the uh little brace on with my
achilles because it was a little bit sore out there
on the pavement. But man, it was a great time yesterday.
All right, we're gonna come back. Tony rintz Ye want
to join us.

Speaker 3 (01:05:32):
On the other side, I have Gabe coming soon.

Speaker 1 (01:05:34):
Toodabe is coming as well, So me and Tony.

Speaker 6 (01:05:37):
We got another set of headphones over here, don't we Yeah, Oh,
we'll go look at that. We're good to go right here, Herros.
There's your park, racing and casino. We are at Anderson.
It is the dan Patch coming up for you later
off tonight. In fact, the first post is coming at
five thirty. I believe the thirty second edition of the

(01:05:59):
three three hundred thousand dollars Dan Patch Steaks. And we
know what's a big deal. Don't wait, Tony, absolutely because
look who's here, Griff. When Griff is here, it's that
damn big deal.

Speaker 3 (01:06:11):
We know that to be he don't come out for
small show.

Speaker 6 (01:06:15):
Tony and Moore on the other side too, and Joli
Erickson Andrew Coles also coming up.

Speaker 1 (01:06:21):
Sit tight ninety three to five, one oh seven five, The.

Speaker 7 (01:06:23):
Fan the Ride with JMV.

Speaker 1 (01:06:28):
We're not gonna fall for a banana and the tailpipe.

Speaker 7 (01:06:31):
You're not gonna fall for the banana and the tailpipe.

Speaker 3 (01:06:33):
This should be more natrue brother should flow.

Speaker 1 (01:06:35):
Out like this.

Speaker 9 (01:06:36):
Look man, I followf an no banana my.

Speaker 7 (01:06:38):
Tirepipe ninety three five and one oh seven five the fan.

Speaker 5 (01:06:42):
Herbert, in his fifth year out of Virginia Tech, lines
up to the light of Leonard, who goes out of
the gun. Here ball in the right, ash tight in
right as well. Again they call Khalil Herbert's name. He
gets a little pushed for Riley Leonard across.

Speaker 1 (01:06:54):
The goal line.

Speaker 5 (01:06:55):
Yes, sir, touchdown Khaleel Herbert and the Colts have their
first offensive touchdown of the preseason and they are now
within six. On the Ruff Mortgage scoreboard, it's twenty one
to fifteen.

Speaker 6 (01:07:09):
Final score ended twenty four to sixteen. Matt Taylor, the
voice of the Colts right there, I thought he and
Charles sounded fantastic. So did Greg and Joe and Lera
with the television broadcast you heard on Fox fifty nine.

Speaker 1 (01:07:25):
Wats maybe on Fox fifty nine last night as well.

Speaker 6 (01:07:27):
Harris, who'sha park racing at Casino and Anderson Tony Rams
is going to rejoin in just a second. I want
to get to ramone at two three nine, ten seventy
what preseason Game one reaction.

Speaker 1 (01:07:38):
Ramone, go ahead? How are you? Ramone? I'm waiting for you.

Speaker 2 (01:07:45):
Oh my JMV dam V can you hear me?

Speaker 1 (01:07:48):
I got you? Go ahead?

Speaker 10 (01:07:49):
All right?

Speaker 1 (01:07:49):
Sorry Bud, but it's fade on it.

Speaker 13 (01:07:52):
You know, I heard a stat the other day the
NFL is the greatest marketing, just the greatest marketing, Tulaeri.
This nineteen of thirty teen in the NFL have been
under five hundred. The last team and years have under
five in direct That is astronomical.

Speaker 2 (01:08:10):
The coach that are in that group, they bounced around.

Speaker 14 (01:08:14):
With the Rivers and Matt Ryan and Carson Wentz and
all these other quarterbacks. You know, I was hearing, you know,
trouble this morning, Richardson having trouble maybe picking up reading stuff,
free snap stuff like that.

Speaker 7 (01:08:27):
Maybe he just doesn't have it.

Speaker 2 (01:08:28):
But if you don't have it, then you better think.

Speaker 9 (01:08:32):
Wait for Manning.

Speaker 2 (01:08:33):
That's they have to make a decision. They have to.

Speaker 12 (01:08:36):
Everybody's going to make.

Speaker 2 (01:08:37):
A decision real soon, real soon. What do you think
about that?

Speaker 1 (01:08:40):
Thank you, Ramone, Hey, Ramone, thank you for the call.

Speaker 6 (01:08:43):
I will say this that I heard that that was
a lot more prevalent. I can't honestly sit here and
tell you that I want to see a team lose
on purpose or hope a team loses, because I've talked
about that too much in the past with the Pacer
and I'm not going to be hypocritical, but you do

(01:09:05):
kind of look at you wonder about the quarterback position,
and you look at that crown jewel.

Speaker 1 (01:09:11):
That we believe to be just that in the Manning.

Speaker 6 (01:09:14):
Family, and I think Knights like last night preseason.

Speaker 1 (01:09:20):
Or not make you wonder even more.

Speaker 6 (01:09:25):
I just can't be hypocritical and tell you that's the
path they should take because I always talk about how
I'm so set against it with the Pacers, so I'm.

Speaker 1 (01:09:38):
Not going to argue too much against it if you
bring it up.

Speaker 6 (01:09:42):
I just losing on purpose to me sucks and that's
the point always make Ramon thank you very much for
the call. Tony Wrens rejoins us. Hello, Tony, Gabe Pruitt
is here, the general manager of Harris Hoosier Park Racing
and Casino and Anderson we have spoken before.

Speaker 1 (01:10:02):
Is your microphone on right there? Dev do We got
his mic on? Gabe? Are you there?

Speaker 5 (01:10:06):
I'm in, I'm in ready to roll from the Commonwealth
of Kentucky originally right there, I'm doing well, No, if
you had it to do over again as a Colts fan,
Just touching on your last topic there, do you draft
Will Levis or are you're thinking he's just been a
bus as well?

Speaker 1 (01:10:19):
No, I would we probably suck to.

Speaker 6 (01:10:23):
Tennessee fans made right there, just a little no no, no,
they know and a lot of people gave to your
credit would bring that up and say, well, you know what,
you can't put this on the organization because what choice
would you have. You know, the time and time again
at the quarterback position they've gone with, you know, the
veteran they've brought in, guys they brought in and really

(01:10:44):
the only person that's worked since Andrew Luck has been
Philip Rivers. So yeah, you don't get this much of
an opportunity under normal circumstances, and this would be it.

Speaker 1 (01:10:55):
That's why this.

Speaker 6 (01:10:56):
Either works or it doesn't, and then everybody is gone
as it maybe he should have been a year ago,
and we'll see what happens this year. I just can't
suggest that a team, you know, go out there and go, hey,
I hope.

Speaker 1 (01:11:08):
We lose, because I think that really sucks. Yeah, that's
that's a bad, bad mindset to lock in. I don't
like it at all.

Speaker 6 (01:11:14):
A Speaking of not losing the Dan Patch, that is
a big deal coming up a little bit later on
here is it not?

Speaker 5 (01:11:20):
It is a huge deal in fact that we invite
everyone out. It's going to be perfect weather tonight. We
have a blockbuster field. This is a thirty second edition
to the Dan Pace Patch Stakes, three hundred thousand doars perse.
It's one of the premier races and the entire sport
of hardest racing annually, the signature event to force here
at Hoosier Partment. We've got a deep and just loaded field.
This field eleven horses tonight are going to go to post.

(01:11:42):
The race is going to go about ten forty pm.
Combined earnings fifteen million plus with this field of eleven,
so it's a loaded group. It's going to be a
huge race here tonight. We're really looking forward to across
the country. Absolutely, We'll tell you it's going to be.
If you're an Indiana sports fan. And by the way,
I moved here during the Pacers playoff run, so I
love Indiana sports fan because you're on with me during
that's right. This is going to be a showcase night

(01:12:03):
for the state of Indiana. I'll tell you why, because
this is going to be a national TV tonight. And
Horseshoe our sister property down in Shelbyville. They're racing an
evening car too down there on the Black Show. So
actually Fox Sports two f S two will carry the
action for both here and Horseshoe from eight to nine thirty.
Once nine thirty comes along, well, actually click over to
FS one so and that'll be from nine thirty to eleven.
And the signature race in that FS one broadcast will

(01:12:25):
be the dam Patch Stakes Redder.

Speaker 1 (01:12:26):
Who That is awesome, right, congratulations, that's going to be I.

Speaker 5 (01:12:29):
Think if you're an Indiana sports fan, it's a prideful night.
You know, we love the horse racing industry here in
the state, and it's we're really going to showcase it
at the very best of lights tonight to a national audience.

Speaker 1 (01:12:38):
Go ahead, Tony, you got a question. I didn't know it.

Speaker 3 (01:12:40):
No, that's tough to follow up, right there. Well, that's
big stuff there.

Speaker 1 (01:12:44):
Hey, hey, Gabe, you come.

Speaker 6 (01:12:45):
I mentioned of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, where I mean,
obviously that is the epicenter that we know it to be.
But where's Indiana rank compared to that? And is it
coming along nicely? As it looks? This is a first
class facility.

Speaker 5 (01:12:58):
I mean, we've hosted the sports biggest event which sort
of rotates from track track the breeders' crowd out there
several may remember it's had been hosted three times here
who's your park? So I mean it puts who's on
a national stage. I mean, and again some of the
very biggest races of the year here throughout the course
of the calendar. So we've got again some of the
faces in the paddock tonight. We've got Dexter done in town.

(01:13:19):
He's been the five time consecutive driver of the year
the sport of artist racing, so he's here. A lot
of the big names in the sports. So yeah, this
is the very best of the best. We've been on
a great run this year in terms of the wager
bring handle, we're about twenty percent a little bit over that,
so I think a lot of mom metum here right now.
And again we're just looking for a big crowd here
tonight on a perfect evening for the Damn Patch.

Speaker 1 (01:13:38):
Yeah, the Dan Patch is coming up later on tonight.

Speaker 6 (01:13:41):
Gabe Prous the general manager with us and Tony Renz
also with us here at Harriszuza Park Racing You Casino
and Anderson again, you could see this tonight. We want
you to be here, but you can see this later
on tonight on FS one, which is exciting news. For
those that may not know, Gabe explain and what they're
going to be watching if they're watching it maybe on
FS wonder if they come here live, what are you

(01:14:01):
going to be watching?

Speaker 1 (01:14:02):
For those that may be.

Speaker 5 (01:14:02):
A bit novice about Yeah, I think what I think
it's a good way to introduce yourself, you know, if
you're not into the weed, say as we are with
horse racing. But you're going to see a rapid fire
broadcast if you tune in, because you're going to see
get a race from Horseshoe and then a race from here,
So it's going to go back and forth. Think it's
going to mold together quite nicely. But what you're going
to see here is some of the very best standardbred
race horses in North America. We've got a significant undercard

(01:14:24):
and there's fifteen races here tonight in total. We're actually
going to kick things off in less than an hour
and now five thirty with the first race again that
signature dan Patch gonna go just after ten forty pm.
But these like preliminaries because some people, so you tell me,
this is the Big Dance. So some of the undercard
races are locally based horses. I hope we do have
some shipping in here tonight from all over the Midwest

(01:14:45):
to join us as part of a good undercard as well.
With the Big Dance. We've got two locally based horses.
And you know, if you want something to root for
out there is a Hoosier how about this the favorite
in the race, a horse based ride here Hoosir Park.
His name is Little rocket Man. He's the three to
one morning line favorite. He's one I've heard of. This
is his playground. He's based right here. But he is
inviting some rivals in here tonight. They're going to be

(01:15:07):
pretty tough. He's made one point eight million dollars now,
he's nine years old, and he seems to continue to
get better and better. The veteran, the oldest horse to
have ever won this race, coming into this year, seven
years old. He's trying to do something that's ever been
done before.

Speaker 6 (01:15:20):
Well, my daughter's fifteen. It has cost me like the
same amount of money he himself.

Speaker 5 (01:15:24):
He's been in this race four times and the best
he's finished, I should say three times. This is his
fourth to best he's finished is fourth so far. But
he's never been the favorite. You know, this is a
different element for him. He just continues to get better
and better. But I think if for a Hoosier out there,
you know, your rooting interests where lie squarely with little rocketball,
little rocket Man.

Speaker 1 (01:15:42):
So does that mean the little rocket Man trains here?
Yes he does. He's based right on the backstrets. We've
got it.

Speaker 6 (01:15:47):
We've got ourselves a celebrity here in a daily bait.
That is awesome right there too. So all right, a
little bit more about some of the other Yeah.

Speaker 5 (01:15:54):
When we get you getting a couple of other veterans here.
One thing that we have the ability to do. Just
a cool note for the race at Hoosier. They take
the top when horses nominate to this. When it comes
down to draw day, which was actually this Tuesday, twenty
one horses entered this race. Now what happens we take
the top ten highest money owners that's how you punch
your ticket into this race, sort of like the Derby

(01:16:15):
horses that earn points throughout the course of the three
year old season. Some of the third red fans may understand.
Now after that point, we had the opportunity as a
facility if we'd like to add an eleventh horse. We
sort of get an invitation out there and we can
invite anyone we want. So another cool horse that comeing
into this is just a four year old, but he's
in Indiana Bread he was rid rid Indiana. He actually
won twelve races here at Hoosier Park last year. At

(01:16:37):
one point his name is Sibonis. Course loves to win.
This is Sibonus is in domas Simonis. I assume so, yes,
Tony is confirming on that. So he's won eighteen of
twenty seven, two thirds of his races. He won sixteen
of eighteen last year. He won twelve at a roll
right here at hoosi Your Park. So he used to
be a locally based horse. So we're sort of bringing
an old champion back to face up with the one

(01:16:58):
of the best horses that's ever raced here.

Speaker 1 (01:16:59):
Who's your parked? Little rocket Man? Is gay?

Speaker 5 (01:17:02):
What else you got for folks, we are we've had
a contest. When you walk in the door, and this
is a free contest, right, you're gonna take a free shot.
We all like free shots out there. So you're gonna
pick the winner, the Dan Patch, one of those eleven horses.
You know, when if you pick the winning horse, you're
gonna be grouped with those that did so, and you're
gonna get a ten one thousand dollars prize if your
name is the one drawn out after you picked the winner.

(01:17:23):
So you're you're literally taking a ten thousand dollars free
crack at as someone's going to wed it.

Speaker 6 (01:17:28):
I will say this, and I know that your your
business is all done over here, but I was just
telling Tony this as well.

Speaker 1 (01:17:34):
I roll up and you know the casino is hopping.

Speaker 6 (01:17:37):
You know, it's like two o'clock in the afternoon, casino
is hopping.

Speaker 4 (01:17:41):
Uh.

Speaker 6 (01:17:42):
The book is doing great too. I mean, you guys
got it all up here. It's really it's a great
there's a lot of buzz around here. And of course
with the sports book, we'll get a geared up for
college football, the NFL right around the corner. So as
you guys were talking about ahead of time. It's really
a fun time of year. We're getting this stake schedule crank.
We're racing five nights a week right now, so two
the way through Saturday nights. We invite everyone up always
a first post five thirty. We'll make sure you have

(01:18:04):
a good time if you come up here and see
us first class restaurant, donning facilities, great view of the track,
it's all indoor, air conditioned. You know you've got a
lot going on here.

Speaker 5 (01:18:11):
We have a great flu activity slew of activities of
the April to night with some activities for the kids.
If you want to bring the whole family up there,
more than welcome. We'll actually have all the champion horses
for the thirteenth race. They're going to be on display
in the front path for an hour before that race,
so if you're on track, you can literally get within
a few feet of these champions. You can see them
all right up close. It's really a view like unlike

(01:18:31):
almost any sport that you can be that close to
the superstars that are out there tonight.

Speaker 1 (01:18:34):
So have you been here a year yet? I have not. No,
this is my first season. March Man, Oh man, So
you got here in March. Have you acclimate? Where do
you live? I live downtown Bottle Works District. Oh yeah, yeah,
you live form Mottel Works here. Look at that.

Speaker 5 (01:18:48):
That's very trendy right area. It's a funny, you know.
I spend most of my time here the track. Are
you from center around LEXI?

Speaker 1 (01:18:54):
Yes, I could throw a baseball hit rapparado.

Speaker 6 (01:18:56):
I don't do that though, by the way, class oh man,
you love the wildcat.

Speaker 5 (01:19:02):
I'm a graduate and through and through, so yes, I do.
Don't hold that against mee Mark Pope, pomp pop. I'm
a Mark Pope guy. I was a cow guy. I
was a little disappointed on the transition, but I'm now
a big believer in Mark Pope. Now you kind of
cheer for Arkansas being a cow guy. It's been tough.
You know, he's got the entire staff. I'm not gonna
say that I cheer for them, but you I don't

(01:19:24):
want to should yell well to him.

Speaker 1 (01:19:25):
The guy did us a lot of good.

Speaker 5 (01:19:25):
You know what else Cal was good at and you know,
I don't want to make anyone puke on the broadcast here,
but he was also a very good community guy. He
raised money when we would have disasters and floods and tornadoes.

Speaker 1 (01:19:34):
So I will say this. People around here like Mark
Polpe because he was here for a time.

Speaker 5 (01:19:38):
That's what I'm trying to say. You know, if you
need an sec rooting interest, we're here for you, guys,
We're here. You think you're ever gonna be able to
transition post right into that?

Speaker 1 (01:19:46):
Yeah? Still, but still Mark Pope, he is a good guy,
so it's hard not to like him.

Speaker 5 (01:19:52):
He's you know, even if you're not a Kentucky fan,
he really is legitimately a good guy.

Speaker 1 (01:19:56):
What time he get started? Once he get five.

Speaker 5 (01:19:57):
Thirty first post again f S two tonight eight to
nine thirty FS one will transition over nine thirty to eleven.
That leads us into the big one, the Dan Patch
Stakes thirty second running right around ten forty pm.

Speaker 1 (01:20:09):
So tuned in.

Speaker 5 (01:20:10):
It's an all Indiana, not a national TV will be
part of their sister track, Horseshoe Indiana.

Speaker 3 (01:20:14):
Go ahead, Tom, what's great about this? John? I'm from Louisville,
he's from Lexitor I'm getting and we're sitting here. Tell
you about enough for race.

Speaker 1 (01:20:21):
Here ganging up on me?

Speaker 6 (01:20:24):

Commonwealth representing Gabe.

Speaker 1 (01:20:29):

Jefferson's Starship together at ever Wise.

Speaker 1 (01:22:19):
Now I should mention this.

Speaker 6 (01:22:20):
I know Colts lose by the way twenty four to
sixteen to the Ravens preseason game one. Our conversation has
revolved around that over the course of the afternoon Colts
Happy Hour that is coming up in the six o'clock
hour with a lot of me, a lot of Matt Taylor,
Casey Valier, Rick Venturi. I know Hunter Wohler is going
to be a part of it too. There is a

(01:22:41):
ton coming up in the six o'clock hour of Colts
coverage back at practice tomorrow and then again coming up
on Sunday, and then a week from Saturday. There going
to end up getting at Lucasroyl Stadium the Green Bay
Packers a preseason game number two, Anthony Richardson dislocated Pinky

(01:23:03):
Day today has been described is that the national anthem
right there, i'sout that played. I'm going to stand at attention.
I can't do that national anthem playing James hold on
one second, Harris Issuer Park Racing and Casino in Anderson

(01:24:19):
or national anthem. I should mention this too, you know,
outside of talking Colts preseason game one practiced this weekend
fever last night, a loser back at home against Chicago
coming up tomorrow. In this date in history, back in
nineteen eighty eight, does anybody remember the significance of it?
And I'm assuming a lot of you Cubs fans probably

(01:24:41):
won't because you just became Cubs fans about ten years ago.
But the first night game at Wrigley Field in Chicago, and.

Speaker 1 (01:24:51):
I remember vividly watching that.

Speaker 6 (01:24:54):
It was really kind of weird to see it this
date back in nineteen eighty eight, that first night game
at Wrigley Field in Chicago.

Speaker 1 (01:25:05):
Harry Carey, Bill Murray was a part of that broadcast,
if you remember, But it was weird.

Speaker 6 (01:25:11):
I want to say it went through a rain delay too,
did it not? But yeah, this date in nineteen eighty
eight lights at Wrigley Field, which is significant.

Speaker 1 (01:25:28):
Joel A.

Speaker 6 (01:25:28):
Ericson of the Star is going to join us coming
up at the top of the hour. Again, you had
the dislocated pinky in a day to day situation for
Anthony Richardson. We shall see if that is going to
affect what they had in mind. As far as Richardson
and Jones quarterbacks starting coming up on Saturday a week
from tomorrow versus Green Bay. We'll talk about that with

(01:25:52):
Joel and the Colts do make a move today, We'll
do that coming out the top of the hour with
Joel A. Finds from Harrizusha racing at Casino and Anderson.
The dan Patch is coming up later on in fact
five thirty for that initial post the thirty second edition

(01:26:13):
of the dan Patch, the three hundred thousand dollars dan
Patch Stakes presented by the Indiana Standard Bread Developments at
Harrows Hoosier Park here and Anderson coming up at five
thirty that first post time that I'm more for you
Don't go Anywhere ninety three five seven five The Fan.

Speaker 7 (01:26:35):
The Ride with JMV.

Speaker 1 (01:26:38):
Joenny Dollar Man, Hi David, I'm Grandpa Doom.

Speaker 7 (01:26:46):
Ninety three five and one oh seven five the fan.

Speaker 5 (01:26:50):
Third and long for the Ravens around the Colts ten
yard line. They lead fourteen to six. Leary goes out
of the gun, ball on the right, hatch backs to
throw good protection, hangs in there and it's intercepted at
the ten yard line by the Colts. It's their second
Joey and it's the linebacker Joe Bachi with the takeaway man.

Speaker 6 (01:27:08):
He went over the top and took the ball away.
I thought that that was really good. I thought Charles
Arbuckle described that nicely. Ry athletic interception right there. Plus
I happen to think that Joe Bachi has a badass name,
Joe Badass Radio Network. This show is live at Harris

(01:27:28):
Hoosia Park, Racing and Casino and Anderson. The thirty second
Dan Patch is starting at five thirty today.

Speaker 1 (01:27:37):
You can join us here. I will also tell you
for those of.

Speaker 6 (01:27:40):
You that are going to SIDS tonight, I'm going to
SIDS tonight. So once I bail out of here, I'm
going to text Brian the owner. I'm going to head
to SIDS in Noblesville and hang out because SIDS is
celebrating eighty years of incredible business. And from what people
tell me, this is not really on my diet terry

(01:28:00):
function right tender Loins, But SIDDS in Noblesville. I'm gonna
stop by there once this show is done here, and
then I'm going to be back at SIDDS in Noblesville
coming up on Sunday from one until three. Because we
know this to be true, We've got to have some
live show stuff going on when there is eighty years

(01:28:22):
to celebrate SIDDS in Noblesville. I want to make sure
that everybody has the opportunity. I know Jason Aldeen, I
think is later off tonight. Woo Jason Aldean. I think
that's tonight JMB takeover if tomorrow night that is a
woohoo at the State Fair b ONEZ five point seven
in the tap room.

Speaker 1 (01:28:42):
You can join me there, but SIDS tonight.

Speaker 6 (01:28:45):
I'll look for you tonight at SIDDS again, that's after
the show, and then again on Sunday one until three.
And I've heard stories, really true stories that the food
Bar Lounge, the food Bar Lounge in the Cement Pond
there's going to be open after Sid's coming up on Sunday,

(01:29:06):
just saying thank you, Tony Rins. Tony's going to rejoin
us into the second meantime. Andy Moore out of Motive Group, potline,
you heard that lead in right there with Matt Taylor
and Charles Arbuckle. The Colts lose the preseason game not
in Baltimore, and that's not really at.

Speaker 1 (01:29:21):
All the story.

Speaker 6 (01:29:22):
What is the dislocated pinky of Anthony Richardson going out
and what is going to be back to back practices
tomorrow and again on Sunday at Grand Park up in Westfield,
and then what may be the case or a change
of pace if you will, with the starters at quarterback
coming up on Saturday, a week from Saturday, when Green

(01:29:45):
Bay visits Lucaswell Stadium and joining us to talk about
that big time Milwaukee Brewers Fan Antner joined Andy Moore
a out of Motif Group.

Speaker 9 (01:29:54):
I'm doing I'm doing great.

Speaker 2 (01:29:56):
I'm doing great.

Speaker 12 (01:29:56):
I love that my number is shadow retired by.

Speaker 6 (01:29:59):
The I thought about this on my way up here today, Joel,
this is what goes through my head. I go I
want to introduce Joey Erickson as Jim Gandner today just
for the hell of.

Speaker 12 (01:30:11):
It, Jimmy gad heard the Wisconsin boy who spent seventeen
seasons there.

Speaker 1 (01:30:17):
They love him.

Speaker 9 (01:30:19):
Now.

Speaker 1 (01:30:19):
I will say this.

Speaker 6 (01:30:20):
I don't know if you ever played, and probably you
didn't because this is an old school dice game. But
I played a game called stratumatic back in the day
in the eighties, a baseball game.

Speaker 1 (01:30:31):
And while Jim Gantner is well known.

Speaker 6 (01:30:34):
And you know a player that you want a part
of your team, I would never have him played in
second base because he was always seemed like he was
always hitting, like in the two forties or something like that.
He could field the baseball, but he was always kind
of hitting in the two forties. I was always back then,
my second basement was like one sem Well. I wanted
to go with a high strikeout opportunity to hit a

(01:30:54):
long ball back in the day.

Speaker 1 (01:30:56):
So Jim, we're ahead of the analytical game.

Speaker 2 (01:31:00):
You were ahead of this.

Speaker 1 (01:31:00):
I was that was and they.

Speaker 2 (01:31:03):
Wanted the power from it.

Speaker 6 (01:31:05):
Yeah, and look, one of these days, if you have
a minute and you get away from all these Anthony
Richardson questions that you're bombarded with, check out the game.
Stratumatic in its history in baseball online somewhere, and then
report back to me because it was a fantastic If
you're a baseball fan passing of the time back in the.

Speaker 2 (01:31:27):
Day, I am highly I am highly aware of Strata magic.
In fact, I think I played it when I was
a kid.

Speaker 12 (01:31:33):
Yeah, I I I think I played it when I
was a kid. I think my dad introduced me to it.
I think somebody had some Strata maatic around.

Speaker 2 (01:31:42):
We did.

Speaker 12 (01:31:42):
What we used to do was and it's I guess,
you know. Sorry, if my pastor from my church in
No Clare, Wisconsin is listing, he's not U.

Speaker 2 (01:31:53):
But uh what what?

Speaker 12 (01:31:54):
What the What my friends and I used to do
was play random number generator baseball in the pews.

Speaker 2 (01:31:59):
You're the service and was sorry.

Speaker 12 (01:32:02):
You know, you assigned a little number to a single
or whatever, and then you make your lineup and go
for it.

Speaker 6 (01:32:09):
That's beautiful. I admire it. I we we played that
past the time. In the eighties, we played stratomatically. I
had a case and my I was actually the Brewers,
but I didn't play. We played with all star teams
and my all star I got in on it kind
of laid So my All Star team I had, I

(01:32:29):
believe I had when he was a Brewer.

Speaker 1 (01:32:31):
Glenn Braggs I think was in my outfield then.

Speaker 6 (01:32:34):
He he and I had Rob Deer because Rob Deer
in eighty seven had a big home run total but
also struck out about nine million times as Rob Bamba
Deer might have had. But I was I. My team
was was the Brewers back then, and.

Speaker 1 (01:32:52):
Yeah it was.

Speaker 6 (01:32:52):
It was a fun game. I'll tell you this. We
didn't always go by the exact rules. We modified the
rules a little bit, much like you might, you know,
playing hockey or something like that on video games and
you take the off sides off.

Speaker 1 (01:33:05):
We modified the rules a little bit.

Speaker 6 (01:33:07):
Thus, Jim Sunberg led the league in nineteen eighty seven
with home runs and I have no idea how with
forty eight, which which was probably probably well beyond his
career total as a Major League Baseball performer in real life.

Speaker 1 (01:33:26):
So pretty incredible.

Speaker 2 (01:33:28):
That's that's amazing. I love it.

Speaker 12 (01:33:30):
I think that if you're going to play them, you
gotta have some you gotta have some weirdness.

Speaker 2 (01:33:35):
Now, now you do it, and my son's got MLB.

Speaker 12 (01:33:37):
The show for the Nintendo Switch and now if you
want to play, you you just fire it up on there.

Speaker 1 (01:33:44):
Yes, that's it's exactly right. So yeah, this is uh, yeah,
it was.

Speaker 6 (01:33:49):
It was great back then though, Strata Man I actually
had and this is years ago. I had the inventor,
the creator of Strata Maatic on this show once and
then it was fascinating, it really was.

Speaker 7 (01:33:59):
That's pretty cool.

Speaker 12 (01:34:00):
That's that's honestly, that's pretty cool.

Speaker 1 (01:34:04):
Yeah, it was. It was fun. What wasn't cool is Joe.

Speaker 6 (01:34:09):
I don't panic and freak out other than one I
called must wins in week number one must win situations,
as I normally do. However, I understand this is the preseason,
but man, so much of what we witnessed last night
is so much of what we have witnessed here in
recent history that has led us to be positioned in
following this team where it is right now. Like there

(01:34:33):
were moments with Tyler Warren, there were some moments with
a couple of other players, but a lot of what
we witnessed last night I felt was the same and disappointing.

Speaker 12 (01:34:42):
What say you, I, I think I think that's probably
probably fair.

Speaker 2 (01:34:48):
I don't know that other outside of Warren, I don't
know that. Uh oh, you know what JT.

Speaker 12 (01:34:53):
Kweimolowau, I'll give There were some.

Speaker 2 (01:34:55):
There were some interesting stuff there.

Speaker 12 (01:34:57):
There were a few flashes from individual guys. I think,
you know, people were asking me what I thought of
the way Daniel Jones Riley Leonard played. I thought it's
pretty much but been what we've seen at camp. You know,
Jones is going to generally make the smart play.

Speaker 2 (01:35:12):
You know, some drops.

Speaker 12 (01:35:14):
Affected him yesterday, but he's not necessarily going to make
outside of that one throw of Doolan, the extraordinary play.
Riley Leonard has been kind of scattershot in camp.

Speaker 2 (01:35:23):
It was kind of what we've seen.

Speaker 12 (01:35:25):
And then obviously you have you have Richardson's injury and
the play that led to it.

Speaker 6 (01:35:32):
Yeah, yeah, well tell me this the way you're thinking
right now. And you've been up there for every snap
and he went to Baltimore for every snap.

Speaker 1 (01:35:42):
You were there for every snap last night. And this
is kind of an honor.

Speaker 6 (01:35:46):
Because real life commander of Apollo thirteen, Jim Lovell, has
passed away at the age of ninety seven.

Speaker 1 (01:35:53):
I think we learned that yesterday. I think he passed away.

Speaker 6 (01:35:56):
But he had a great quote in the film Apollo thirteen,
all right, and his gen Krantz, his flight commander, had
the quote, what on the ship is good?

Speaker 1 (01:36:06):
What do you see on the ship that is good?
Right now?

Speaker 6 (01:36:11):
Moving forward to those like me, that would suggest there's
a lot of the same old, same all happening presently.

Speaker 12 (01:36:17):
Well, I think one thing. I think one thing that
we're just not going to see in the preseason that
we're gonna have to I'm not saying to necessarily get
excited about it because there's no guarantees with it. But
one of the things that I think we need to
remember in the preseason is that lou Ana Arumo's defense,
like all defenses, are simple in preseason. But here's the

(01:36:38):
thing about like Matt Eberfus's defense and Gus Bradley's defense,
they were.

Speaker 2 (01:36:42):
Simple in the regular season too.

Speaker 12 (01:36:44):
They jumped from from preseason to regular season with those guys,
they were doing more game planning, more stuff. But for
the most part, those are simple, static defenses. We're not
going to see anything that we can judge lou Ana
Rumo's ski on at this point. That's just we're just
not his His whole thing is based.

Speaker 1 (01:37:05):
On game planning.

Speaker 2 (01:37:06):
They're not really going to game plan for these teams.

Speaker 12 (01:37:09):
I think in terms of that question, because I got
that a couple of times yesterday. Hey, the defense doesn't
look much more much more interesting at all. Well, he's
not gonna do that right now.

Speaker 2 (01:37:20):
That's he's he's gonna wait till they get to the
actual games to game plan those out.

Speaker 12 (01:37:25):
So that one, that one I've kind of just set
on the back burner. I need to see it once
things start for real and he's actually, you know, doing
what he was hired to do, which is come up
with the sort of game plan specific type stuff. I
think one of the other things is just the joint practices.

(01:37:46):
The joint practice looked a lot better than the game.
You feel better about that from an offensive line standpoint, uh,
because they were actually playing the ones. That's one of
the other things about One of the other things that
happens to these these joint practices that have exploded across
the NFL is that now we're not seeing the ones
go against the ones in the preseason. It's three ones
and seven twos and one to three going against something

(01:38:08):
some other combination on the other side. And so that
takes a little bit of it now on the flip side,
I think some of the stuff we saw at quarterback
and I think this is why you know, this is
pretty much suggested. What I wrote is if you were
looking for reasons not to believe in the quarterbacks, or
reasons that these quarterbacks are risking to begin in the

(01:38:29):
first place.

Speaker 7 (01:38:30):
It was all there for you.

Speaker 6 (01:38:33):
That's Joey Erickson, the Stars on the Andy More Automotive
Group plotline. Back to back practices this weekend at Westfield
at Grant Park and then obviously Saturday preseason game two
against Green Bay. I would agree with you on the
whole philosophy on defensively in the preseason.

Speaker 1 (01:38:52):
The one thing that did stand out there were again
a lot of.

Speaker 6 (01:38:56):
Mistackles preseason game number one, I understand, but this has
been a very unbecoming trait that you know still you
know on preseason game number one was an issue last night.
Hopefully that goes away unlike it did not over the
course of the Gus Bradley era.

Speaker 12 (01:39:14):
Well, and I think one of the other things that
made that I made a mental note of early in
those drives is you know, we're supposed to be looking
for linebackers because that spot is open next to Ziyar
Franklin and Joe Botschi has the interception.

Speaker 2 (01:39:28):
But there was a lot of.

Speaker 12 (01:39:29):
Rushing yards with that first group. There was a lot
of rushing yards that first group, and that's to me,
that's that's the question mark for the linebackers. That's the
question mark for the backup tackles. You know, I when
Grover Stewart and the Forrest Butner are in there, I'm
I'm less concerned. But you know, in in the past
couple of years, whenever Grover Stewart's gone out, teams have gone,

(01:39:51):
oh wait, nineties out, let's run right there at the
guy behind him. And so I still have some questions
about whether or not they have the guys to to,
you know, do something closer to his level once they
go out in the run game.

Speaker 2 (01:40:04):
And then you know, the other thing.

Speaker 12 (01:40:05):
The other thing from the defense I think is a
very real concern is something we learned after the game
that Justin Waally tore his ACLU and all of a sudden,
this cornerback position that they they really did put a
lot of resources into this offseason is.

Speaker 2 (01:40:23):
Suddenly thin again. After them trying to make it as
deep as possible.

Speaker 12 (01:40:27):
I think that that second spot, that second starting spot
on the outside is suddenly a pretty real concern with
Wally being out, Jalen Jones had as a somewhat to
some level of degree serious hamstring injury, and then Juju
Brent is also dealing with a hamstring injury and had
his own injury history. That was three guys competing for

(01:40:49):
one spot and all three of them are currently sidelined.

Speaker 6 (01:40:53):
Yeah, that is beyond problem that I'm assuming some move
or moves forthcoming. I mean, do they need to dive
into that trend a free agent pool at some point here?
With the situation you find in that defensive secondary.

Speaker 12 (01:41:09):
They kind of already have by bringing in Trey Herndon
and Duke Shelley.

Speaker 2 (01:41:13):
Those are guys who have played a lot of football
but have been.

Speaker 12 (01:41:16):
Kind of bouncing around for a little bit here. If
they're gonna make a signing or an acquisition, that's a
difference maker. It's going to have to be at the
end of training camp, like when they got Womack last year,
because all those guys are on, all the rosters are.

Speaker 2 (01:41:29):
Still at ninety right now.

Speaker 12 (01:41:31):
I do think that if you're the Colts pro scouting
people that this preseason you are looking at corners all
of a sudden and you weren't really expecting to it.

Speaker 2 (01:41:40):
It's one of those things that is actually a position.

Speaker 12 (01:41:44):
You know, they signed somebody in free agency, they made
a lesser signing and free agency that.

Speaker 2 (01:41:48):
Didn't work out with Corey Valentine.

Speaker 12 (01:41:50):
They drafted a guy on the first two days. They
really did put some resources into that position, and now
injury has made it thin again.

Speaker 6 (01:41:58):
So Joey Erickson on the Andy More on a motive
group plotline. Have we here recently seen the real a
d Mitchell stand up or is this kind of a facsimile,
if you will, of what we saw a year ago
with moments that ultimately led to a rookie season regular
season disappointment.

Speaker 12 (01:42:18):
I still want to see a little more when things
are for real.

Speaker 2 (01:42:24):
You know, there were there.

Speaker 12 (01:42:25):
Were signs last year in training camp, you know, passes
thrown by Joe Fleckel that went to nowhere where you
assume that it's probably the rookie receiver and probably not
the thirty nine year old quarterback making the mistake.

Speaker 2 (01:42:38):
There were a handful of those.

Speaker 12 (01:42:39):
Through the first week. He looked good, He looked good
in the joint practice. He's looked good for about a
week and a half now, but you still you still
want to see it from him once it's for real
and teams are game planning and it's the real corners
out there and.

Speaker 2 (01:42:57):
All that stuff.

Speaker 12 (01:42:58):
I'm interested to see how he does against.

Speaker 2 (01:42:59):
The pack this week.

Speaker 6 (01:43:02):
Yeah, And speaking of that, Joel, the plan was, you know,
starting Daniel Jones, but then Jeneral Jones is almost like,
you know, he started because Richardson went down with the
picky situation. How does that change the plan you think
for preseason game two a week from tomorrow against Green Bay.

Speaker 12 (01:43:23):
My my best guess is that Stiken just kind of
inverts what his plan was. His plan was for Richardson
to start and play a quarter and a half before
giving way to Jones. I wonder if Jones makes the
start and gets two drives essentially against Green Bay and
then Richardson gets the rest of the half, that would
seem to me to be the most obvious way to

(01:43:49):
kind of make it even in their minds. I'm not
expecting the Packers to play a lot of people because
of the joint practice. Jane Stiken has already kind of
hinted that he's going to follow the same plan with
his most hot players, so I'm kind of not expecting
the Packers to do it, so that that to me
seems like if you're trying to make it equitable.

Speaker 2 (01:44:06):
The plan was to start.

Speaker 12 (01:44:07):
Somebody and play the the quarter and a half, but unfortunately,
because of the injury, Richardson started and played two series.
It seems like the easiest thing to do would be
to have Jones start play two series and then give
the rest of the half to Richardson.

Speaker 1 (01:44:20):
How did Daniel Jones look to you last night?

Speaker 12 (01:44:24):
I think that's a lot.

Speaker 2 (01:44:25):
Of what we've seen in camp.

Speaker 12 (01:44:26):
You know, he's he's gonna make the right throw a
lot he's gonna make. He's gonna a.

Speaker 2 (01:44:33):
Lot of it's going to be accurate. You know, if
he was.

Speaker 12 (01:44:35):
He was plagued by some drops last night. I counted
at least four that should have been caught. So if
he if he gets those, he's looking at more of
a thirteen to twenty one.

Speaker 2 (01:44:45):
Type of game.

Speaker 12 (01:44:48):
I think in a game planning situation, that's going to
get that accuracy and stuff is going to give you
a little more in terms of completion percentage.

Speaker 2 (01:44:57):
Because Psychen is.

Speaker 12 (01:44:58):
Going to be attacking an offense in a way that
he wasn't last night. But I just don't know that
we've seen at any point, and including last night, you know,
sort of the extra play. I don't know he's going
to elevate what the Colts have.

Speaker 2 (01:45:12):
And on the deep ball, I.

Speaker 12 (01:45:13):
Still need to see him be consistent enough on that
to really take advantage of a guy like Alec Pierce
down the field. But I think what you saw is
it's going to be fairly consistent like it was last night.
You know, the ball is going to be fairly accurate.

Speaker 2 (01:45:28):
I just don't know that you're going to get a
lot of extra from him.

Speaker 1 (01:45:32):
Yeah, No, anything else stand out to you.

Speaker 6 (01:45:34):
Maybe we haven't discussed both good and bad from last night, Joel.

Speaker 12 (01:45:39):
I think the thing that that I've come away with
is is not so much the injury with Richardson, but
why the injury happened.

Speaker 2 (01:45:49):
And I know that this has been debated all over
you know Colts.

Speaker 12 (01:45:51):
Fan base that today, but like to me, when you
see guys like Kurt Warner or Chase Daniel, the former
players online saying that this is something that's day one
install that the quarterback and quarterbacks are gonna make mistakes.
But to me, there's a concern there that that you've

(01:46:12):
got something that is apparently a very basic part of
the offense. It's but the you should know what the
offensive line is gonna do. You should know that that
guy thought and you don't get it out. I to me,
that's a concern because that's the kind of play that
in the regular season. You know, last night, in the preseason,
there's an injury. An injury is obviously paramount because of
Richardson's injury history, but that same play in the regular

(01:46:35):
season without an injury, that could be an enormous sack,
fumble or a huge play that has nothing to do
with the play call and has everything to do with
the execution or the lack of execution on the quarterbacks part.
That's to be stuff like that, and that coupled with
the injury.

Speaker 2 (01:46:53):
That's why there's.

Speaker 12 (01:46:54):
An open competition because you can't have that kind of stuff.
It's tough to game plan and put something in when
when they when they game plan these things like they
put in a new play, but it's not like they
just put in that play. They go, well, this defense
does this bunch of stuff. So we're gonna put this
in for this situation, but if they come out in
a different coverage, you have to be able to switch it.

Speaker 2 (01:47:16):
Like you've got to be on top of all.

Speaker 12 (01:47:18):
That stuff and not have, you know, not have a
a situation like last night where you you just you frankly,
you know if the response the rusher was your responsibility
and you missed him and and you ended up taking
a big blow.

Speaker 2 (01:47:32):
Because of it.

Speaker 6 (01:47:34):
Yeah, man, it's just it is just so much the
same with him. It's it's just hard not to think
that what you're gonna get even further down the road,
because I will say this, Joel, I still think that
he is regardless, well, unless there is another injury and
it takes him out or all of a sudden there

(01:47:54):
is a gap that widen's canyon like that there's no
choice but to start jump owns. I think regardless. Still,
it's going to be Anthony Richardson coming up in week
number one.

Speaker 12 (01:48:06):
He has he has the like he's got the upside.

Speaker 2 (01:48:10):
He's got the upside. But I think I.

Speaker 12 (01:48:12):
Think the thing that's nagging at me today is that
that play showed that there's a bigger downside to him
as well too, And I think that's probably a tough
thing to weigh as a coach. You know, it's it's yes,
you can get, You're going to get. I mean, we've
seen it when he starts. You're going to get played
that you feel like maybe three or four other guys
could make. But but are you also getting plays that

(01:48:37):
most quarterbacks wouldn't give up to the defense And and
that can look like an incompletion, that can look like
an interception.

Speaker 2 (01:48:46):
It can also look like a sack.

Speaker 12 (01:48:47):
It can also look like what it was last night,
where a pressure isn't recognized and that leads to a
negative play like that. That stuff, I think is the
tough part because that downside is big. You get a
bigger range of things that can happen with Richardson.

Speaker 2 (01:49:05):
But he's his feeling is obviously higher than Jones to me.

Speaker 6 (01:49:10):
He spent four years in Milwaukee on the left side
of that infield and had a career high in nineteen
eighty six with nine home runs. Let's thank Ernest Ryles
for joining us on the Andy Moore Automotive Group potline.

Speaker 1 (01:49:25):
Ernest ernest Ryles.

Speaker 12 (01:49:27):
Guy, not Ernest Ryles.

Speaker 2 (01:49:32):
More of a pet list Dash guy.

Speaker 1 (01:49:35):
Oh you like list Yeah, well everybody like list Dash.
He was a bass dealer.

Speaker 6 (01:49:38):
Two was kind of a multi dimensional Were you big
on Dale spam everyone?

Speaker 2 (01:49:44):
Yes? Yes, everybody's big on death Flam?

Speaker 7 (01:49:46):
Yes, you know who?

Speaker 1 (01:49:47):
I liked a great deal and I always found it
kind of unique.

Speaker 6 (01:49:50):
BJ Sirhoff, who was a highly regarded player, started out
as a catcher, really multi dimensional on his own right,
and I think made made a lot of noise early
because I want to say he was on that nineteen
eighty five USA tm USA Olympic team that had Larkin
and you know Mart mcguired a bunch of notables back

(01:50:12):
then as well.

Speaker 1 (01:50:13):
I believe I just kind of lost my train of thought.
Now who am I? Oh?

Speaker 6 (01:50:17):
BJ Sirhoff? Were you a big BJ Sirhoff guy? He
was from the Bronx New York?

Speaker 1 (01:50:21):
Was he not? That's odd?

Speaker 12 (01:50:23):
I believe I believe BJ were the number one pick
in eighty five.

Speaker 6 (01:50:28):
Yes, if you look back at the eighty five that
eighty five t USA team had a like O to B.
McDowell played center field for that team in eighty five
tm USA. Remember ODEB McDowell, Long time, long time, break
right correct, and in Texas, I think is where he

(01:50:48):
he started as well. But I just remember getting all
those cards back in nineteen eighty five.

Speaker 1 (01:50:53):
It was eighty six when I got those.

Speaker 2 (01:50:56):
I had a.

Speaker 12 (01:50:56):
Ton of OGIBB McDowell, and I had a ton of
of all those guys. Mine mine were probably a little
more nineties, but uh yeah, yeah, it's it's a miracle
that I'm a Brewers fan because I I think I
first started watching like they were okay in ninety two,
but most of my childhood was like the dark, dark

(01:51:19):
dark playoffs or no possible, yeah, losing one hundred games
Brewers teams I was. I was twenty twenty two years
old before they were in the playoffs.

Speaker 6 (01:51:32):
Well, and and they were at the time in the
American League East. And you know, even with Don Mattingly,
that was the time right when when the Yankees still
scuffled and wasn't playing well. I Boston obviously in eighty
six went to the World Series, but you know, there
were some opportunities that were never met. I love coming

(01:51:54):
on and going to old school Brewers with you because
I can do this absolutely all day long.

Speaker 12 (01:51:58):
I always think this is That's why I always think
about growing up and being a Brewis fan.

Speaker 2 (01:52:03):
There are a lot of.

Speaker 12 (01:52:03):
Fans who are like, you know what, I don't care
how long it takes, burn everything to the ground with
whatever time they are.

Speaker 2 (01:52:11):
And I don't. And they're like, I don't care how
long we're bad, And you.

Speaker 12 (01:52:15):
Know what, It's fine to say that, but it's another
thing to actually do that for more than a decade,
you know, Like, it's another thing to go, Okay, well,
we're gonna blow it all up and we're gonna be awful,
and we don't like it might take us a decade
and a half. Let me tell you, in year seven
and year eight of that decade and a half, that

(01:52:37):
gets a lot harder than you think it does.

Speaker 6 (01:52:39):
Right now, Joe Colts fans been watching this group since
twenty fourteen.

Speaker 1 (01:52:44):
Feel the pain. Let me tell you that right here,
there's just no doubt about it. Feel the pain. Hey man.

Speaker 6 (01:52:51):
I always enjoy the conversation more than you know. Is
good to see you last week. I'll see you on
Monday and then again on Thursday. Coming up next week
at Westfield. Thanks Joe, you met.

Speaker 2 (01:53:00):
We'll be later.

Speaker 15 (01:54:01):
Are you ready to have it stuck to you? So
the Christmas Day schedule has been unleashed, and Shams has it.
The Cavaliers and the Knicks, the Spurs and the Thunder,
the Rockets and the Lakers, the Mavericks and the Warriors,
the Timberwolves and the Nuggets, obviously excluding the Pacers.

Speaker 1 (01:54:26):
S whitch would be the first team ever to make the.

Speaker 6 (01:54:32):
NBA Finals and not get a Christmas Day game. Let
me tell you this, and Myles Turner still pisses me
off about what he said when he left town and
what he said about you know, the quality and competition
or the quality of the team and have it a

(01:54:53):
talented team. This to me is a good thing because
this just fuels it even more. I didn't expect them
to get a Christmas Day game, but to be the
first team to make the finals and not get one
and push it to seven games. I know everybody's gonna say, well,
I understand it, because you know the Tyree Celeburt's injured

(01:55:16):
and Miles Turner's gone.

Speaker 1 (01:55:20):
Yeah, the NBA can just shove it. I'm glad.

Speaker 6 (01:55:24):
I'm glad. I cannot wait. I cannot wait to watch
this team this season and then they can shove it
up everybody's rear in. Seriously, I can't wait. I am
confident in that we can go ahead and skip ahead
to it right now, absolutely confident in that. So no

(01:55:51):
Christmas Day game for the Pacers becoming has been reported
right here, the first team to ever make the NBAS
and not get one We'll tell you Pacers they don't
think you're anything. Pacer fans, they don't think you're anything either.
I think everybody needs to unite on this. Can we

(01:56:12):
un on one thing? It should be this? Back to
that at a second, Harris Usha Parker Ace of the
Day coming up. That's Tony Rin's right there. We're dueling
Michelo Walters right now. Yeah, you doing, my brother.

Speaker 3 (01:56:25):
We're giving it a run for its money. I tell

Hill larceny.

Speaker 6 (01:56:31):

Indiana State Fair. Plus I hear that you want to
make the Labor Day weekend bender the third annual at
Misty Waters Campground, which I passed on my way up here.

Speaker 1 (01:56:53):
Is Brent out there? You think right now? Bren or Releasers, anybody?

Speaker 3 (01:56:55):
I think one of them would be out there. I
know you got you got a big concert down at
the ruof so I bet you they are.

Speaker 1 (01:57:01):
Jason is that Jason Aldans night?

Speaker 3 (01:57:03):
I bet you they're camping and busting people Jason Aldean.

Speaker 6 (01:57:08):
I have heard that if you don't like Jason Alden's music,
it does not matter that these smoking chicks are all
over that show.

Speaker 1 (01:57:17):
That's what they say that. I don't know anything about it.

Speaker 6 (01:57:20):
I don't know a damn note that Jason Alden plays.
I have no idea any of his music. But that's
what I hear. The dudes all say, we got to
go to that because the chicks are everywhere. That's what
they say. There, you go, Hey, what we got coming
up later? Off tonight? Right here, Tony Rins, you.

Speaker 3 (01:57:36):
Got the Dan Patch Steaks Invitational, three hundred thousand dollars.
It's going to be Race thirteen. Got to go off
about ten thirty, ten forty. It's being live nationally broadcast
on FS one. You know this is a big deal.
This is Indiana's number one richest race Thoroughbred or standard Bread.

(01:57:58):
And then tonight we're running a special down at Shelbyville
and we're doing a free contest where you bet three
races here, three races there, top prize one thousand dollars.

Speaker 6 (01:58:10):
And you guys are gonna be on FS two and
FS one. Yes, letter off tonight just so people. We
want you to be motivated to come out here. But
even if you're not motivated to come out here, you
can watch it later off tonight.

Speaker 3 (01:58:23):
Absolutely, it's a big night. Like I said, the beer's flowing,
the heaven heels flowing. We're having a blast. The food's
getting ready to start up here soon. And they've got
a buffet over there. I took a look at it.
The shrimp looked like lobsters.

Speaker 1 (01:58:39):
Do they really?

Speaker 6 (01:58:39):
Oh my gosh, So they have stuff over there that
would be complimentary to my dietary protocol.

Speaker 3 (01:58:46):
Right now, I'm sure they would.

Speaker 1 (01:58:48):
Oh, I love it. Is there a cottage cheese over
there on the old salad bar?

Speaker 3 (01:58:51):
If not, I know the chef O man, I'm gonna
tell you.

Speaker 6 (01:58:54):
If they go out and get their cottage cheese from Gordon's,
I am in love, love me some Gordon's right there.
I do along with Daisy Brand. What else you got
going on?

Speaker 1 (01:59:05):
My brother?

Speaker 3 (01:59:06):
You know we're doing the Governor's Cup racing down at
the State fair Grounds next Wednesday. You're going to be
with us. I believe we got query with us with
a stand in Wednesday Wednesday with Rakestraw. I believe is
standing in for Querry. That's going to be noon to six.
We got consolation racing from eleven till two, and then

(01:59:27):
we come back with the championship, the Governor's Cup.

Speaker 1 (01:59:29):
So we're going to be in the stands right there.

Speaker 3 (01:59:31):
Yes, you'll have a blast. We had Querry there this
past Wednesday. I saw that a little bit of that,
and I'm pretty sure I know he's probably listening. If
he's not on that flight to La yet, he's we're
trying to get him upstairs to call a race.

Speaker 6 (01:59:46):
He would love that with all he would. He would
be so good at that. I promise yes.

Speaker 3 (01:59:51):
So that next Wednesday is a big day for harness
racing in Indiana. That's Governor's Cup. We're hoping to go
and or makes it out, gets it to the Winter Circle,
presents a trophy with us to be a lot at.

Speaker 1 (02:00:04):
The Governor's Cup. Is it named after Mike Brown?

Speaker 3 (02:00:07):
It's named after the Governor.

Speaker 1 (02:00:09):
I will tell you this.

Speaker 6 (02:00:10):
I don't know too much about Mike Bron other than
he's from du Bois County and from Jasper, but I
didn't meet him. This is going back to Dawson's on
Maine in May. He had somebody come over to me
and say, Hey, there's somebody over here that wants to
meet you.

Speaker 1 (02:00:24):
And it was him, and he goes, I know.

Speaker 6 (02:00:26):
How you feel about politics. I know you hate it,
so we'll just talk about music.

Speaker 1 (02:00:31):
Is that cool? So that that part was cool.

Speaker 6 (02:00:34):
I mean he just said because he understood that I
don't want to hear a damn thing about politics.

Speaker 1 (02:00:39):
I and he wanted to talk music, and that was good.

Speaker 3 (02:00:41):
I tell you what I liked about him, and I
made him a couple of times. He always talks about
this German restaurant down there in Jazzkerzelbach. That's yeah, and
I'm trying to get down there on a Friday night.
You got to do it and walk in.

Speaker 6 (02:00:54):
I have friends to him and ask for Allen at
the Schnitzelbank, say JAMV sent me a now and.

Speaker 1 (02:01:00):
We'll set you up. Yeah, love the sense of buck. Hey,
quick break, we'll come back.

Speaker 1 (02:03:15):
Tell me all about it.

Speaker 3 (02:03:16):
Read it to me.

Speaker 1 (02:03:18):
I'm skinny dipping.

Speaker 3 (02:03:19):
That's you written over it. Fourteenth Race.

Speaker 6 (02:03:24):
I was always skinny dipping was always a thing done
in Green County. I was always afraid that something may
get mistook as bait.

Speaker 1 (02:03:35):
That always scared me. You know, I don't know, man.
This thing looked like a lure moving through the water.

Speaker 6 (02:03:41):
Here all right, tom Sorry, I digress here, Tony, the
night is going to be big.

Speaker 3 (02:03:49):
It is you.

Speaker 1 (02:03:50):
I like the lure.

Speaker 3 (02:03:51):
Yes, A lot of negative stuff going on in Indiana
sports right now. I heard about the unfortunate thing with
the fever. We've seen what happened and last night, but
you know, tonight it's all positive. We've got good horse
racing here. It's all good positive energy.

Speaker 6 (02:04:08):
Good positive injury energy. And uh Fox Sports two, yes,
and Fox Sports one coming up.

Speaker 1 (02:04:15):
Later on tonight as well too.

Speaker 6 (02:04:18):
And then next Wednesday, you and I will join one
another again on the air.

Speaker 1 (02:04:22):
The State Fair for.

Speaker 3 (02:04:23):
The Governor's Cup, it's it's once a year you get
the best of the county fair racing. So that's kind
of like the not not the minor league, but it's
the ones they're they're kind of working their way to
get here to the big truck.

Speaker 1 (02:04:36):
So is the governor going to be there? You don't know.

Speaker 3 (02:04:39):
You I'm sure hoping we you know, we've invited every year,
and I believe in Governor Braun and I'm hoping he's
going to make the track out to us.

Speaker 1 (02:04:47):
Who's the who's the Lieutenant governor? What's his name?

Speaker 3 (02:04:50):
Micah Becklick?

Speaker 1 (02:04:50):
Oh, yeah, Mike, I'm glad it's not the Lieutenant Governor's Cup?

Speaker 3 (02:04:55):
Is that? So he's got a little bit on his
plate right now?

Speaker 1 (02:04:57):
Does he? I haven't even noticed, but he this kind
of seems blame to me. I don't know. That's just
my it's not even political. It just kind of looks
I'm met him.

Speaker 3 (02:05:06):
He came to our banquet back in January. Very nice
show the first time. I'm very nice person.

Speaker 1 (02:05:11):
Sure he is. I don't know him from anything. That's
just my first impression.

Speaker 3 (02:05:15):
Yeah, I guess I understand that.

Speaker 1 (02:05:17):
Yeah, it's weird too, because I'm not a political guy.
I mentioned.

Speaker 6 (02:05:20):
The first impression with Braun was he said, I know
you don't want politics, and we won't talk about it.

Speaker 1 (02:05:24):
I go, well done right there, but we'll beck with it.
It's kind of weird.

Speaker 3 (02:05:28):
I understand that.

Speaker 6 (02:05:30):
Ye.

Speaker 1 (02:05:30):
Hey, tomorrow night, you're going to be with me as well,
hopefully at the State.

Speaker 3 (02:05:33):

Our third annual is coming up Labor Day Weekend Bender,
and then we did as well at the Night before
the five hundred, and it has gone fantastically. I do
think there's going to be a time, Tony when that

(02:06:17):
show is going to be out more than it's going
to be in.

Speaker 3 (02:06:19):
You will, I think you're right there. The original idea
to take it on the road started with you and
I here. It still want to bring it here at
some point New Year's start right here, and we just
we have not taken advantage of it yet.

Speaker 6 (02:06:33):
But now you guys have a substantial New Year's Eve
gathering here, don't you.

Speaker 3 (02:06:37):
New Year's Eve here is off the chain?

Speaker 1 (02:06:40):
Now is it packed in here too for New Year's Eve?

Speaker 3 (02:06:42):
It's jam packed? And here's what I love about it.
It's the only place on New Year's Eve you can
sit next to a person and the gentleman having ARMANI.
The female will have a nice Nordstone ye dress, and
then the person next to him might be in their pajamas.

Speaker 1 (02:06:57):
That's awesome.

Speaker 3 (02:06:58):
Oh, it's fantastic.

Speaker 1 (02:06:59):
Yeah, that's a good mixture that you got working right
there too.

Speaker 6 (02:07:04):
Remind people too, they're going to see I know they're
all filtering in here for the thirty second annual dan Patch.

Speaker 3 (02:07:09):
Starting first post was five thirty, So we've already got
one race under our belt, maybe getting ready have the
second one under our belt. We've got fifteen races tonight,
so we're going to go to about eleven thirty eleven
forty five. Dan Patch Race himself is race thirteen. That's
about ten forty things going on all over the place.
Contest free that you want to jump into. Nothing like

(02:07:32):
free money. It's it's fears flowing, having heels flowing, good food,
good people come out and have fun.

Speaker 1 (02:07:39):
The buffet is rocking too, right.

Speaker 3 (02:07:43):
Little lobsters over there, they're the keep calling.
