Speaker 1 (00:10):
And where we go here. Anything you have a chance
against ours? Mister cowboy, Hey mother, what do you like
to do? Oh? I don't play chess.
Speaker 2 (00:21):
School.
Speaker 3 (00:22):
When there's play chess.
Speaker 4 (00:23):
They give off that Jonathan Taylor chuck cutting its way,
cocking the goal line. He's in there, put down and
why Jonathan Taylor Wheeler.
Speaker 3 (00:33):
Finds here's halliburn into the front court mishandled Hi mcgainst
any shot he finds.
Speaker 4 (00:42):
It, John, I have never been better to be on
the air with you here in Indianapolis, a place where
so many of my dreams have come true.
Speaker 5 (00:51):
The ride with jmvy on ninety three five and one
oh seven five.
Speaker 4 (00:55):
The fans, all right, well we can officially say us
up tonight. It is back Canton. The high school football
season is officially underway. Coming up later on tonight. We
have games across the Indiana landscape. We've got some incredible matchups.
I always love hearing from you. I know a lot
(01:17):
of you are going out two games. Coach Dugger down
in Martinsville's already reached out. Give a shout out to
the arties that had a renaissance season a year ago.
Of course, I have to give a shout out to
the arties too at the start of the show because
they have a wolf on their team, and then the
dad wolf runs the dairy Queen. I don't know if
(01:37):
I'm allowed to say it. I don't think this is
the deal that they have. Is it a winter James?
And if they win, does everybody get free blizzards? Probably not,
but that's what happens in Martinsville. The artis in Bark
later on tonight. I believe their matchup is down in
Morgan County with Bedford North Lawrence, but CG and Warren
(01:58):
coming up later on tonight. That's on the East side,
coming up at seven o'clock. You just look around and
there are games. Yes, you're asking about my team, Eastern Green.
How could you keep yourselves away? And this is why
I didn't have football at Eastern Green. We didn't have
it yet, so they have it now, but we didn't
(02:22):
have matchups with Springs Valley. Can you imagine now if
you have a match up with Springs Valley, you can
go down and watch the Thunderbirds, probably get drubbed by
thirty five, and then roll right over to the casino,
literally walk over to the casino, spend the night at
the hotel. That's a hell of a weekend. By the way,
(02:48):
the owner of Dairy Queen and Martinsville, James, has just
reached out half priced blizzards with a win for the
artist tonight.
Speaker 6 (02:55):
There you go.
Speaker 4 (02:58):
I'll take it half rice blizzards with an already's win
and believe me, that thing salted away because I don't
know there's Ben l Ever win in football. I don't
believe the stars have very star studded. So I think
that that's probably your destination location everybody later on tonight
(03:23):
in Martinsville. That's awesome. Shout out to Ryan Wolf and
his son Reese as a senior, especially after the year
that they had a year ago in football, and coach
Duggar has done a great job down there. That is
a reclamation project that is worth talking about for real,
especially with the year that they had a year ago.
Decatur Central is upper class on the road at Avon.
(03:47):
I believe my good friend of Paradise Dave Watson Jeff
Watson is a part of the officiating crew with that
one coming up later on tonight. We're having a conversation
a little bit earlier today because it's weird right, Have
you guys noticed that we are exiting summer unofficially, but
(04:08):
exiting summer this weekend and then going into Labor Day weekend.
As we entered summer back in May, a couple of
weeks of a lot of clouds and the weather folks,
and this is perfect weather, don't get me wrong, perfect
weather for high school football. But everybody telling us how
this is going to be sunny and bright and great,
(04:29):
and then you get stuff like this, and if you
have a pool that doesn't have a heater, the overnight
lows especially are going to get you. So we are
discussing the pool tempts for the Labor Day weekend party
festivities at Paradise Day Watson, ah Man, Ron Colly, Fort,
Wayne Dwanger, Concordia, Cesina, Franklin. Central's got a lot of
(04:55):
talent on that squad, Perry Meridian down on the south side,
coming up later on to Homestead and Westfield. You know,
Unt Rocks have another fantastic team what has become just
kind of a legacy history team on the southeast side,
Lutheran and Addics. Addics got a really good running back
(05:15):
on their squad. Lafayette Jeff Chatard we'll go over a
lot of these too. Is Bob Lovell again has already
re emerged on this show, and Bob's going to join us.
Coming up in the four o'clock hour, we'll talk about
night number one on the high school football Indiana landscape.
(05:36):
But Bob coming up at the top of the four
o'clock hour. Also Don Fisher, a voice of the Hoosiers.
Not too far away from the openers for both IU
and Purdue. Tom Deenhardt will give us the Purdue and
the around the Big Ten Angle coming up a little
bit later on in the show as well, and hashtag
Ashpat this may be this one song, although I take
(05:57):
that back. We'll do one more. We'll do Mystic Waters
camp Ground next Friday with Pat Sullivan as long as
he can make it up there because next weekend is
Labor Day weekend and that is the Labor Day weekend
bender at Mystic Waters Campground that is in Pendleton with
Brent Holverson. I think you know the dynamic there. I
haven't told you about a lot of new things we're adding.
(06:18):
One is Bob who is the president of wind Shulers
Spreadable Cheeses. The Spreadable Cheese is back on this show
coming up for the late summer and fall, and we're
all here to rejoice. But Bob the President is going
to officially ship us a crate of win Shoolers because
he wants plenty of video from our Labor Day Weekend
(06:42):
bender with wind Shulers spreadability all over the place, and
I mean in all varieties, all your favorites, including jalapeno
pepper that's coming up. Crate, how much do you want?
What's the crate? You have a crate, Send a crate
down here. Part of the additions we're going to have
(07:06):
to the Labor Day Weekend Bender, which will be coming
up as well. All right, I know the one thing
I don't know if I'm bearing the lead on this.
I know the Colts play coming up tomorrow ten am.
The Colts pregame huddle with me and others. That's when
we begin right here on ninety three to five and
one oh seven five the fan coming up tomorrow morning.
I guess for preseason Game three, there's just not how
(07:32):
do they normally say it, not a lot of meat
on that bone, Like it would be one of the
more interesting preseason games. I would think if they're giving
Anthony Richardson a shot to play, and believe me, I
(07:52):
understand the tact they're taking, the decision that was made,
but much like a lot of things that they do
over the right now, I don't buy it. I don't
believe it. You can't tell me that the guy needs reps,
the guy needs time, he's not ready, and then when
there is time for him to try to get ready,
especially with a lot of things that they say are
(08:14):
wrong with him, a lot of the things, a lot
of the reasons why Daniel Jones evidently wrestled that job
away from him as the starter in the first place.
I mean all this stuff where you can get your
team together, I mean, hell, you don't need to be
starting mentality to do that. Just get your guys together,
get him out there and have him work. All right,
(08:37):
So you're not playing against the number one defense of
the Bengals, So what see if he can show you
any progress or else, be quiet about how he has
to have more time to get ready, because we all
know during the regular season he's going to get zero
time to get ready and then he's just going to
be thrust into a situation if Daniel Jones gets injured.
(08:58):
So yeah, there's a legitimate reason why we don't buy
any of that. I would almost rather believe that it
was because you don't want him to look good, because
you don't want more of an outside debate going on
in the two weeks leading up to the start of
the regular season. Now do I agree with that? Not really.
I did like bringing that up. I thought that was
(09:19):
kind of funny. I did like bringing it up. Do
I buy it? No, I don't. But it just doesn't
make sense. You keep this guy in bubble wrap his
entire existence and then say he can't learn anything. Really,
(09:41):
what you're probably telling everybody more than anything else as well,
this is just over.
Speaker 6 (09:46):
Now.
Speaker 4 (09:46):
Here's why we're not jacking with it is because it's
not worth jacking with, right, how about that we can
discuss that. That could be it, but it would be
much more worthy of discussion, kind of much like last
week going into it with Daniel Jones and Anthony Richardson.
Although I don't think the dynamic worked out as excitement
(10:08):
wise as anybody thought. I mean, you look back at
last weekend and I guess that was a huge determining
factor against the Packers in that game. And I mean, hell,
they both look the same to me. When one guy
looked good, the other guy looked good. When the other
guy looked bad, the other guy looked bad. Okay, so
it was already determined the direction in which they were
(10:31):
going to go. And believe me, that's fine. Hopefully that
I'm not even going to get too far ahead of
the start of the regular season. Hopefully that leads to
a Week one win, because if it doesn't, good luck
with it. It's funny when you look at an opportunity.
(10:53):
The Eminem song and I haven't heard it in a while,
the popular Eminem song was lose Yourself, and I think
for a lot of people that have that one opportunity
to shine, I think they take some of the dialogue
the lyrics of that song to heart. You kind of
lose yourself in that moment because you're not thinking about
its reactionary going on instinct and not so much overthinking it,
(11:20):
which can lead to other mistakes. Like I thought going
in to that game last week, it was going to
be one of those moments where one quarterback of the
other would lose themselves. I don't think anybody got lost
in themselves or lost in the game or lost in
the position lost in the decisions. I think it was
(11:42):
already predetermined. I think that's also the biggest issue with
Anthony Richardson. It probably would be better off if he
got lost in it at some point and not just
reacted to it, or better said, not try to be
something that he's not, which clearly the Colts are tired
(12:06):
of whatever he is right now. But if you're going
to ask me straight out, would you be more concerned
about him getting an opportunity and playing or being an
insurance policy in case Daniel Jones gets injured. We know
this to be true because we live in Indy. This
(12:27):
is the Circle City. So one of your professional players
is going to fall due to injury. There's just no
way around it. That's just where we are. That maybe
the most noted absolute anywhere is that at some point
that's going to occur, somebody's going to be injured. But again,
(12:50):
I wouldn't so much be worried about that aspect of it.
I'd be worried about, Hey, you got time. All you
do is talk about how he needs time, you gotta
have some time to work on it, and then when
you have time to work on it, you don't so sorry,
if that should make sense to anybody, it doesn't, and
(13:10):
it won't, and that part is absolutely true. But other
than that, it's funny. You've got so many injuries on
this team right now, which begs the question how many
big surprises will they be? Will there be because of that?
Probably not too many. As far as making the team
(13:33):
having an opportunity to make the team, probably not too many.
So we can't discuss that at two three nine ten seventy.
If you so desire, the text line is wide open
three one seven two three nine ten seventy. You can
tell me if you have the text line where you're
going for high school football tonight, that'd be absolutely fantastic.
(13:56):
Other things you might want to add. For those of
you that ask, I kind of put this to you
back on Wednesday, I am James gonna go see the
Black Keys on Sunday night because you guys recommend it.
If I had the opportunity to go to go, I
know like three or four songs. This is gonna be
the first band in a while that's like a band
of today and not a band that was certainly more
(14:19):
famous thirty five years ago, the Black Keys.
Speaker 7 (14:22):
So you only know three or four songs.
Speaker 4 (14:24):
You say, Hellen for you, Gold on the ceiling. I
may only know two.
Speaker 7 (14:30):
I know well, I know Gold on the ceiling case
it plays all in.
Speaker 4 (14:33):
The ceiling, the Allen for you. Those two I know
very well.
Speaker 7 (14:38):
I think those might be the only two that I
have as well.
Speaker 4 (14:42):
So you guys will have to tell me if there's
any other redeeming quality as to why I'm going.
Speaker 7 (14:49):
Is this that ever wise?
Speaker 4 (14:50):
Is it ever wise?
Speaker 6 (14:51):
Now?
Speaker 4 (14:52):
That is? That is quality? Because I can park in
and walk over there and that's great and it's not
a hassle. And the last time I had a vip
PA to ru off and I went in the wrong
gate and they go, well, you will have to go
a lot to go around. I go, well, I'm already
in here. Well you'll have to give me twenty five dollars.
Well I got a parking pass right here. Well we
can't use that here, Okay, thanks, Well, I tell you what,
(15:13):
I'm gonna give you twenty five dollars because I'm sure
as hell I'm not taking my ass back out of
this place and then trying to get back in. Okay,
that's no fun. There are some things in this world,
James that you don't mind doing twice. Trying to get in,
back out and then back into ruof parking in is
not one of them. Let me tell you, I think
I'm not doing that twice. Just twenty five dollars, be quiet.
Speaker 7 (15:35):
I think I'd be in the same boat.
Speaker 4 (15:36):
Yes, I mean all right, I'm sorry, I'm twenty five
dollars to park in this cowfield, but I'm not going
back out and going around and having to repark again.
But the thing about ever Wise is hell, you can
park here and then walk over there, and that's spectacular.
They have done a great deal of work to that
(15:56):
place too. Looks outstanding. So you guys sold me on
the Black Keys, and Doug Wigan is going to take
me to see the Black Keys. So I'll look for
you coming up on Sunday. And I have no idea.
I'm not going to promise you what condition I may
or may not be in, because that is a paradise
day wants. And even with the weather around seventy five
(16:17):
degrees and the pool tempts hovering around eighty where I
know this for sure, there will be incredible signs of shrinkage.
There is zero way around high levels of Costanza shrinkage
this weekend at Paradise Day wats and it just can't
be helped. But that's okay because there are other aspects
(16:38):
of what we do, the fun that will supersede worrying
about Costanza esque shrinkage. But you just can't get around it,
because this is what the weather is offered up around here.
A bunch of garbage, a bunch of clouds, a bunch
of cool. This is not what it's supposed to be
like in the latter stages of August and going into
(16:58):
Labor Day weekend. Never ever, Joseph fitting Foust chimes in
with me and joined the Black Keys. They're a great show.
Speaker 8 (17:07):
I like it.
Speaker 4 (17:09):
I've seen them at White River in twenty ten, awesome
at Banker's Life too. All right, hold on a second.
Will I be the oldest dude there? Will it be like? Woolly?
Remember I went to see Willie that EDM group over
at Mirah back in November, and I was in line
to go take a whiz and the dude said he
(17:29):
pulled a bottle out of his pants and goes, hey,
you want to drink pops? So and I was speaking
of a third person, and I said Pops would not
like to take a drink of something you just removed
from the front of your pants. Okay, that's okay, Pops
is all right.
Speaker 7 (17:47):
That's a good rule of life, right, Yes, there, don't
drink anything someone just pulled out of their pants.
Speaker 4 (17:51):
He pulled this well, and not only either the front
of the back, front of the back. But Pops, will
I be opposite this show?
Speaker 7 (18:01):
I don't think it would be so Well, you might
be close to the oldest, but I don't know if
it'll be as noticeable as like at an e DM show.
Speaker 4 (18:08):
Can I I've got a set list in front of
me right here? Does anybody like to set list? Do
you guys look at set Do you guys look at
setlist when you go to shows? I do. I can't
help it. I've got to navigate because of my small
bladder when I go to the bathroom, so I okay,
I go in blind. So gold on the ceilings very
early in the set, okay, Yes, Tighten Up is another
(18:31):
song that I know. It's kind of midway through, and uh,
where's this Helen for You?
Speaker 8 (18:38):
Dude?
Speaker 4 (18:38):
Helen for You must be the last song.
Speaker 7 (18:41):
I had a match because that's their most popular think.
Speaker 4 (18:46):
Yes, oh yeah, Cove says this, and you're right. I've
heard really good things about Gary Clark Junior, he says,
don't miss the Black Keys opener, Gary Clark Clark Junior,
he's the blank. I can't wait. Hey, Cove, if you're
going out there, that means you owe me a beer.
If you're coming up from Monroe County, you owe the
host of the show of beer and realize that. But
(19:07):
thank you, guys, because it's of your recommendation as to
why I thought, Yeah, I'm gonna go ahead and go
and check this out. I know it's not Howard Jones
or Toto or Christopher Cross actually or Morrissey like actually,
somebody that Today's Music True Story. DJ chimes in with
(19:29):
this a JMV. I'm at the point that Steichen or
Bell or just doesn't like ar personally. None of this
is adding up. I don't think DJ. It's they don't
like him personally. They don't think he can play a lick.
That's the answer. It has nothing to do with likability,
because if it came down to that, he's a very
(19:50):
likable human at twenty three years of age. He is
a likable dude. But it has zero to do with
that DJ. They don't think he can play a lick.
And with all of this, the only conclusion I can
draw is that they're done with him. You're done, I
mean your quarterbacks coachch basically all but says it, Hey,
(20:13):
I've done all I can do. You're done, and then
you have an opportunity to play him, for him to
improve on some of the factors in which we're non
throwing too, not even getting to the efficiency or lack thereof,
but some of the pre snap stuff that he doesn't
(20:34):
do that you can work on against lesser players, and
certainly on your own team with lesser players, you can
work on all of that. But the excuse of you're
afraid that Daniel Jones is going to be injured and
he's one playaway, nobody's gonna buy that. You just don't
like the guy in terms of being your quarterback. And listen,
(20:58):
that is something I can understand. If they were just
to come out and say, here's the reason why, because
the guy can't play right now, cut and dry, the
guy can't play right now. His agent would freak out,
but who cares. But that's I think DJ. What you
reference here them not liking him. It's not that at all.
They just don't think he can play lick. That is
(21:18):
the final conclusion, at least to be JMV see. The
Giants quarterback room is at least fun, even though that
they are bad. The Cools quarterback room is just boring
and mid. Boring and mid.
Speaker 8 (21:37):
It is.
Speaker 4 (21:41):
Weight of love, according to Kevin Sage right here by
the Black Keys. Weight of love as in weight the
weight that it weighs, not like, hey, I'm gonna wait
on some love here, be looking out for that. Jeremiah
is paying for parking and rule off is ridiculous, jealous
(22:02):
that you're going to see the Black Keys. Well, I
didn't mind. I don't mind paying for parking, but I
had to pass. And for me to have to go
back out and come back in, if that was the solution,
that was no stinking solution. All right, I'm just gonna
park over here next to this cow pile, and then
I'll just give you twenty five bucks a walk over there.
(22:22):
I will say this. At least they put porta potties
on the webbe like a mile and a half away,
So my bladder was never gonna hold that long. So
I had to go and rock the porta potty. All right,
let me take a break and come back. Pat Sullivan Bottom,
I would advise you to get your questions in at
(22:42):
hashkag asked Pat. Either questions in you can do it
at three one seven two nine ten seventy on the
text line, or you can call two three nine ten
seventy because I don't know if you have seen the
prize pack. Because you guys absolutely all get an arousal
over free. This may be the ultimate free YETI. We
(23:04):
have not only a Yeti thermos, but we have a
Yetti lunch bag right here. Who out there has a
Yetti lunch bag? This is the first time we've ever
given away a Yeti lunch bag. You could actually you
(23:27):
could actually take like an old twenty five year old
pair of underwear of mine and Stampayetti on it, and
people go, I don't have jmv's twenty five year old underwear.
I gotta have that.
Speaker 7 (23:39):
It's actually a nice looking in that's an awesome.
Speaker 4 (23:41):
Looking lunch bag. Now it looks nothing like my lunch
box collection, but that is an awesome looking lunch bag.
First time ever we've given away a free Yetti lunch bag.
So you got the numbers right here. If you want
to call and get on the air two three nine
ten seventy. If you want to send hashtag asked pat questions,
(24:03):
you can do that, or you can send in a
text question three one seven two three nine ten seventy
on our text line. You guys got it all right.
Let's have ourselves a Friday, shall we. I know we're
all excited. Night number one of the high school football season.
Bob Lovels got you covered north to southeast to west,
(24:25):
coming up here in the four o'clock gour Dean Hart

Speaker 1 (25:32):
I'm making fast.
Speaker 5 (25:33):
I'm gonna Murray ninety three five and one oh seven
five The Fan.
Speaker 4 (25:39):
This is Weight of Love by the Black Keys. Well,
these guys nerdy. Look at their pictures and they look nerdy. Yeah,
far from me to call these guys nerdy. Look at
what they're doing compared to what I'm doing. Weight of Love?
How about the weight of careers? Right between me and
(26:00):
the Black Keys? James, who do you got? That's James
over there, the Black Keys coming up on Sunday at
ever Weiss. I'll look for you down there too. I'll
be a couple of nine Cocktails. Yeah, I'll be good.
I'll know every song by the third song. Pat Sullivan's
(26:21):
study right now with us? Where Pat?
Speaker 6 (26:25):
What?
Speaker 4 (26:25):
Where's the concert?
Speaker 3 (26:26):
Ever?
Speaker 8 (26:27):
Ever?
Speaker 4 (26:27):
Wise? Amphitheater Downtown, which is an awesome white river. Alison
Kraus was there last night singing her bluegrass. Oh that's
I love that venue?
Speaker 8 (26:36):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (26:36):
I think did she sing dule like they did on
Andy Griffiths Show right off the bat? You're gonna ask
me music questions. Yeah, you don't know. You don't know
anything about Andy Griffiths Show and the Bluegress do well
stepping on the huller, Doly trying to make a dollar? Doly,
won't you give me a swallow? And I'll pay you
back some day? Just remember the Mount Pilot girls, that's all?
(27:01):
Oh yes, the Mount Pilot girls, the fun girls, they
were there, Ye, Hi, doll. Which one of the fun
girls would you rather have or remember? I don't know.
I just remember the one that called Barney Bernie or
the one with the voice that sounds like she remember
everything that sounded like she smoked a carton of Winston's
(27:21):
before the episode started. I don't know. No. Flip a coin,
Flip a coin? Which one of the girls the women
of Mayberry aunt Be. Come on, man, you know back
in the twenties, aunt Bee was smoke real. Have you
ever seen old school pictures of aunt Be Francis Bovier. No,
not seen old school pictures. In the twenties, aunt Bee
(27:46):
was rocking. So don't bother knocking. Okay, first story Pat
Sullivan hashtag asked Pat get those questions in. I mentioned
we have free yetty, but we have a lunch bag
we've never given away yety s. I was looking around
thinking what would be different. Yeah, and I saw the
lunch bag. I think that would be different. I love
free Yetti. It's cool. You're looking at her right now.
(28:08):
She's smoked a five.
Speaker 7 (28:09):
She's good looking.
Speaker 4 (28:09):
I'll tell you what year is that picture? Like nineteen
twenty five.
Speaker 7 (28:13):
It doesn't have a date on it, but it looks
like it's the end of nineteen twenty four time.
Speaker 4 (28:17):
I mean, and all the women's pictures. If you're a
model in like the twenties of the thirties, it was
like like straight out. Your cleave was like straight out.
But no, I told you she was smoked back then.
I've done the research, Pat, I've done the research. I'm
glad you got some time to do it. I do
have a little bit of time to do my Andy
(28:37):
Griffiths show research. Sit around to do that research. Hey,
what is it you're complaining about the weather? Well, the
weather seems this is not what it's supposed to be.
Like this is October crap. I'll take that. We'll take
October and October. We don't take October in August. It's unethical.
I have seriously, this summer has been awful. What yeah, awful? Awful? Yeah,
(29:04):
because the start of it sucked because it was cold,
and now the end of it's gonna suck because it's cold.
Was hot and sweaty. Look at this all over ten
that it provided me this summer. Look at me. I'm
bronze more than George Hamilton. Look at this. Take a
look at this before you take a listener, poll, I
(29:24):
can guarantee you they are on my side. All right,
let's go to it. Two three nine, ten seventy. Let's
go to the text line, this summer of heat, when
it was hot, when it was humid? Great or not
so great answer? Let's see what people have to say.
They're going to agree with me. I don't think so.
Speaker 6 (29:44):
I think so.
Speaker 4 (29:45):
Hey, how was Eggfest?
Speaker 8 (29:47):
Oh?
Speaker 4 (29:47):
Wow, it was good? It was hot? I bad, you
know what it really? We were only off with everything
going on in town, the live Tournament the final weekend
of the Great State because we had moved our event,
which is kind of like miniature golf. Yeah, that's what
the live tournament is kind of to me, like miniature golf.
(30:07):
I didn't know much about it, but right here it's
pretty fun. I think. Did John Rahm win? Did he
bank it off the windmill for the man? I believe
he did, probably, so go ahead, I'm sorry, didn't meet it.
And then he had the Colts game, of course, yes,
and it's a that was about the only time you
could sell preseason tickets if you're a season ticket holder,
(30:29):
right would be due to a Packer game and because
there was a little bit of drama going on at
Colts quarterback, which I don't know how anybody ironed that
out other than already having that preconceived notion you five
can't play. You kind of missed that one, didn't you.
Speaker 6 (30:45):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (30:45):
I did. I think I whipped on that big time.
Yeah I did. Thanks for putting that out. You anything
else any other flaws you'd like to point out all
around here. Actually, I would uh the question of you
say five can't play, what was the lead up to
the draft that they thought five could play. I'm assuming
let's take this piece of clay and mold it into
(31:06):
something special. I'm Shane Stecken, and I'm an offensive with
he's a specimen. I'm an offensive wizard. I'm Morocco Brown
says this guy is great. I mean, you get different stories.
I heard that there are a lot in that room
there that liked him, but there may be was a couple,
maybe one in particular, that stood out and didn't And
(31:27):
at this point the one that didn't. And Morocco Brown,
who most heavily scouted him, is gone now so and
Chase Dikin is the one that said he really wanted him.
And you see, that's my biggest disappointment is you have
a guy and you bring him in and we're not
talking about transforming him into one of the great quarterbacks
(31:50):
of the past. We're not saying he's going to be
Patrick Mahomes right now. But you can't have this guy
in year three, in week one, ready to start. That's
how bad this is. I know that's how bad this is.
So I think that speaks more volumes really about this
than anything else does with the story. But you were
you were a believer. You thought they were going to
be able to get him ready for the season. Jamb No,
(32:13):
I expected him to. You though expected him to. Yes,
I thought you have come hell or high water. Because
my point was, Pat, if he's not playing, as he's
not going to as of right now, then why the
need to bring everybody back hit the reset button. If
he's not it, who is it? You don't have it,
go out and get it. Start the clock. So now
(32:35):
at the end of this year, you're going to have
to refire a clock that you could have started with
a reboot this last season. And that was my philosophy.
If he is not going to play or not going
to be the starter, why are we jacking with any
of this? And here we are, here we are hashtag
asked Pat questions. All right, let's see some of the
(32:57):
answers are in regarding the weather. Jam V sorry brother
as a construction worker, the heat sucked. Blank, thank you
very much. Troy and Cocomo says, I'm Troy and Cocomo.
This guy says that, wait, he did he he didn't
weigh in, he just said, he just said it was
this Troy and Cocomo. Weather has been nice and hot.
(33:20):
We get enough crappy winter type weather around here. I'll
take the heat. See Cocomo and I are on the
same stinking page right here. Patrick, that's just somebody sucking
me and sucking after the mood. And Cocomo, buddy, that's
Howard County, right, Howard County, Howard County, Green County. Brothers.
They give out more speeding tickets right there on thirty
(33:40):
one than Hey. I've never been to Cocomo my life.
How about that? Because I've never been to South Bend,
because I've never been to Notre Dame because I don't
like Notre Dame. How about that. I'm not a big
fan of Notre Dame.
Speaker 6 (33:50):
Really.
Speaker 4 (33:51):
I have been to Laporte once, but we didn't go
that direction. I guess how come the heat. Just not
a big fan of Notre Dame. You know, you can
not be fan without I don't think I hate them,
It just sounds I hate, yeah, the way it is.
I don't hate going a Notre Dame. I don't hate anybody.
I won't even go up to see my grandma in
South Bend. I might see the Golden Dome. Hot weather
(34:14):
only good on the weekend when I can be on
the lake or floating on the water with a beer
mark and Brownsboro. That's kind of a half asked. Here's
seven days, five of them suck, he says, he's on
my side. Hashtag as pat for Pat Sullivan. Why do
they sell brisket flats separate but not the points? I
(34:34):
have no idea what that means. Brisket flat separate but
not the points? Hashtag ass pat. I don't know. Sorry,
great answer. That's a question. That's a that's a question
for our friends at Cancaid's. Yes it is. I met
that guy. I can't remember what his name is. Joe
is Joe at Taylor's a couple of months ago. Good dude,
(34:55):
great guy right there. Hashtag as pat. More questions coming up,
just like this hashtag gass pat at two three, nine,
ten seventy. When is the best time to receive bear
spots in the fall? Thank you? Something I can answer?
You know, if right now is the time to start
killing some weeds if you want, if you need to
(35:15):
get rid of some weeds, and then you want to
have your seed down by the third week of September.
A lot of times people think that seeding is kind
of an October and even early November thing. It really isn't,
because the roots need to establish themselves, so try to
get it in by the third week of September. JMV.
(35:36):
I guess the heat was okay if you were a
cactus bowling Indy, thank you very much. Do I have
some cactus qualities? Thank you, bo bo, thank you very much.
Let's see writes this. Here's a question for hashtag asked
pat Well, I hurt the grass and mystic waters if
I sleep on it three nights in a row during
the weekend bender with JMV. No, No, you have a
(36:01):
good turf type tall rescue. You're a okay, aokay if
you have fine RYE may want to roll around a
little more. My man, let's say, is going to have
a great weekend? I predict Yeah, that's because nice and
cool out and you got great fall like weather hot
and sweaty started like hot, sweaty and shirtless. No hashtag
(36:22):
disgusting weather. What's the best bait to lure some rogue
raccoons into a live trap cage. They keep getting into
my trash. Thanks, that's see.
Speaker 8 (36:32):
You know what.
Speaker 4 (36:32):
The raccoons, you know, are pretty easy with uh. I
would say either half of an apple with a little
peanut butter on them. They would like that for their
last minute. Twenty five raccoon possum combinations that Paradise Dave
Watson has trapped live trapped and then taken them across
(36:53):
the White River on the other side of the bridge
and dumped them out. Really true story twenty five and
Jeff Watson everybody live trapper. How does he know that
they can't get back? I don't know. They could cross
the bridge. I guess that's what I'm saying. They do
a raccoon swim, not very well. Possum never looked like
they know what they're doing. They just kind of why
(37:14):
did possum look? We have like people walking around here
that are similar to that. We We have a we
have a listener that had a pet pet possum. Yeah, yeah,
I've seen that before too. They I'm really telling you
what he probably does your mom know? Your mom likes
the raccoons. Oh yeah, well she used to feed them cookies.
But now their dogs around there, which I hate. So
(37:35):
that's problem. Hey, I do have a question, hashtag asked
Pat for me. What's this whole armadillo armadillo trend that's
happening in the state. Is that true? Yeah, armadillo's infiltrating
the who's your states? I don't think in a big way. Okay,
but that Denny Smith was on that last week and
so they started talking. I didn't listen. Oh really, See
(37:56):
the reason why I asked because somebody had a picture
on Facebook the other day. One was like running through
the parking lot at Walmart and Spencer. I think those
are transplants, and I just thought it was because it
was Owen County. I thought maybe it was just a
really big cockroach. No with a tail. No, it's a thing,
but I'm not sure. I'm not sure the origin. See,
we've asked five questions and you didn't have an answer
(38:18):
for two. You know what, you're asking the wrong question.
An armadillo is a good hashtag ass pat question. There
is no that is not an Indiana question. Here's one
for you, a hashtag ass pad. Brandon Reef, his wife
Pat wants to know how soon she can get and
plant mums. Mum's the word. Mum's the word. If you
want to try to get bring back the moms and
(38:38):
use them as a perennial, then you want to get
them in the ground a sap, a samp, because it's
sooner that they can establish roots, the more likely they
are to come back. If you're just using the mess
an annual, you want to want to make sure that
you when you buy them, buy them with a tight
bud that's just cracking, rather than the ones coming out
of greenhouses that are full blown. Yeah, because you want that,
(39:01):
you want to get the the extended life. You got
time to hang for a little bit here too. Yeah.
And by the way, yes, you got the quarterback thing wrong.
That was just one question. I'll be coming down on me,
pal had one question.
Speaker 6 (39:18):
You got it wrong.
Speaker 4 (39:18):
Yeah, let's go ahead and steer this the other direction.
Speaker 8 (39:21):
Here.
Speaker 4 (39:22):
Hot and sweaty and shirtless sounds like the title of
Jamv's autobiography, Kylin Day, Hot, sweaty and shirtless. That's gonna suck.
But I gotta start wearing shirts full time again, know
what I mean? Jamv? Now that the temperature is not
even nineties, it's okay to put down liquid weed killer.
If so, how long do we have the way to
(39:44):
put it down? Thank you hashtag gaspath. You know the
best time to kill weeds is in the UH in
the fall anyways, because movement is down towards the route,
so you have plenty of time to UH to kill
weeds with liquid weed killer, which is what I prefer
to use. But you're right, be care it's been a
you really haven't been able to use it very often
because of the temperatures above ninety and then you will
(40:06):
you can't actually damage your desirable grass. I got two
other questions. I have eight pounds of flounder. I'm going
to grill tonight. I'm gonna have questions on my preparation, okay,
And I also remind me of this. I've got a
pool question. Do they have heater rentals for Labor Day?
Weekend heater rentals? Cool heater rentals? Think about that for
(40:28):
a moment. And j Long wanted to tell you about
sucker Punch. That was your recommendation, sucker Punch of a
couple of weeks ago. We'll get into that. Pat Sullivan
returns free YETI a lunch bag for the first time
and a thermos free yetti at hashtag ass pat if
we read if we take your calls at two three
nine ten seventy or your text messages, you could win
(40:49):
that free yetti hashtag ass pad Night number one of
the high school football season, Bob a Level top of
the Hour both Ie You and Purdue Football conversation along
with the Big Ten, That and more coming up on
ninety three five and one oh seven five to Fan.
Speaker 5 (41:07):
The Ride with JMV in the beat ooser here in
the Beatozer ninety three five and one oh seven five
the fan.
Speaker 4 (41:18):
Crank it up. We got an eighties weekend on the
JMV takeover six until midnight, W'll be one O five
point seven. This is def Leopard and Animal James speaking
of animals, Raccoon, live traps, possum, live traps. So in
a couple of years hashtag as pet are we going
(41:40):
to be live trapping on Medillo's?
Speaker 9 (41:42):
Uh?
Speaker 4 (41:42):
You know what, I let's hope not. I think that
is an isolated incident. Those raccoons each your sweet corn,
don't they don't? We a lot of different things, you
know what? People are really at war that you know? Uh,
people will say that it's us because we've now built
into their area. But you know where I live, It's like,
did the raccoon stake their claim to that area? Yeah?
(42:04):
I guess, but I mean we had now have I
saw coyote the other day in my backyard. We got
deer now, I told seven first of my deck. Those
things are huge. Oh yeah, he gets up all the
time on his back legs. He just goes. I ate
a piece of sweet corn and actually I eat it
on the back deck and then throw the cob out
in the backyard. I think he was digging on that
(42:25):
a little bit and he liked it. So you talk
about your mother. Hey, how should I prepare? I have
eight pounds of grilled flounder tonight? Do I just slap
that bad boy with old bay and say see you later?
How long do I put that on the grill for
it to be enticing? I don't want to make myself sick.
I would go lower, lower temp, lower temp, and then
I would probably make a basket out of tinfoil. Okay,
(42:48):
kind of put so your sauces and stuff will kind
of marinate us as it goes in. Okay, because that
means I won't lose it on the that's correct, right,
that's correct. So I got it, yep. And then but
I'm not sure what that temps at? But do you
like flounder?
Speaker 8 (43:02):
Oh? You know?
Speaker 4 (43:02):
I like I've ever had? Where'd you get fonder from?
I bought it? It was really cheap. It was like
four eighty for two and a half pounds of Kroger
the other day, really, and I saw it, and I
want I'm gonna get to I got about four bags. Hmmm,
that is good. A lot of flounder?
Speaker 8 (43:16):
You like?
Speaker 4 (43:17):
You go to the grocery store A lot, A lot?
Do you really?
Speaker 8 (43:19):
I do?
Speaker 4 (43:20):
I have been list amounts. I bet I go two
and three times a week to get cottage cheese because
that's all. That's really all I've eaten. I haven't had
a grain or anything in months. So you should start
introducing some other food, probably should. I'm thinking now that
there's probably an opportunity. I want anybody's ever gained weight
(43:40):
by eating too much cottage cheese and gonna get over it?
I don't think that's possible, and think it's possible now,
might be, buddy, it might be all right? Does anybody
know of a rental system for a pool heater? Can
I rent pool heaters?
Speaker 8 (43:56):
You know?
Speaker 4 (43:58):
I am not You know who does your pool? Who
does my pool? Uh? You know a guy named Dave. Dave,
I really don't know that, but let me ask you
a question. Yes, whose pool is this? It's Paradise Day Watson.
Jeff Watson's so why it should be plenty warm? Overnight
temperatures make it cold, but remember the heater, hooters and
(44:21):
a covert water is the last thing to It doesn't
bother me, but for the younger kids, they it makes
them so temposition. Right now it is eighty but they
like it to be eighty seven or eighty eight. You
just need to suck it up. I do suck it up,
but I'm just for the kids. Here's what I would do.
I would just get some firewood and just throw lit
(44:43):
logs in there. Okay, I don't know, build the fires
out of it. Two three nine seventy Pat Sullivan and
my friend Fulton has a question for Pat. Hello Fulton,
Hello John, Hello, Hey Fulton.
Speaker 6 (45:00):
Today's my girlfa Bob's eighty fifth.
Speaker 4 (45:03):
Both day is eighty five. Shout out to Bob.
Speaker 10 (45:10):
So anyways that we've been getting some mail today and
they were saying that about or grass or something.
Speaker 8 (45:23):
Like.
Speaker 10 (45:23):
They keep coming over here and in the mail paper
was in the middle for like grass or.
Speaker 4 (45:30):
Something, probably lawn care companies. I would imagine. Thank you
to hear from you, buddy, John.
Speaker 6 (45:40):
I forgot to tell you, Okay, I'm gonna be in
singing in the rain.
Speaker 10 (45:48):
Performing let's see what's what's it called?
Speaker 4 (45:55):
Hey? I want you to I want you to learn.
You need to learn this from me from stay. Oh
that's right, my favorite rain song, Fulton. I want you
to listen to this sometime Orange Juice Jones and the
Rain nineteen eighty six. Listen to that. Okay, request that
tomorrow night orin Juice Jones The Rain nineteen eighty six.
Speaker 2 (46:17):
Yep, and I've got my game Tomorrow's okay.
Speaker 4 (46:21):
See Robis, You're gonna love this song. Thank you, Fulton.
You're gonna love that song. I saw you and him
walk in and you ever heard that?
Speaker 8 (46:30):
No?
Speaker 6 (46:31):
Great?
Speaker 4 (46:31):
Were you guys? Tomorrow morning home Garden show? You know
what we were? We are in, uh in Carmel at
Nature Spire, Nature Spire. What is this place?
Speaker 8 (46:40):
You know?
Speaker 4 (46:40):
They do? Uh they can do like nature stuff. Yeah, well,
if you will like want to do house plants, like
a wall, like a like a like a living wall,
like the roof of a Caraba's Italian to do all
kinds of thing. I think they do containers for you
that they'll come out and do your con ivy and
weeds on my roof? Do that restaurant? Is it Carrabas
(47:01):
that has the stuff on top of him? Yeah? That
was their tagline. We have a garden on our roof.
That's why. That's why we're so expensive. We've got a
garden on our roof. That's right, Yeah, Coome March nine am.
We got around here, James, nine o'clock, nine o'clock. Thanks
John for having me. We got it, buddy. Hashtag gas
pat somebody's gonna win free yetti, a lunch bag for
(47:21):
the first time and a Thermis too. And I know
you're on the inbound to your favorite high school football team.
Bob Lovel Documents, Night number one of the twenty twenty
five high school football season. Bob joins us next.
Speaker 5 (47:38):
The Ride with JMV.
Speaker 1 (47:40):
Play Him Played That to Me and His Money.
Speaker 5 (47:43):
Ninety three to five and one oh seven five the fan.
Speaker 4 (47:48):
This if Fulton is still listening, right, now is Orange Juice,
Jones and the Rain. You tell me, especially anybody near
before after my particular age, you tell me that this
is not a top twenty song of the decade of
the nineteen eighties. Right here, you gotta love it. And
(48:12):
there's some weird stuff at the end being said you
couldn't say today lyrically speaking, but this is great turned
up James Orn was getting cheated on and it was
pissy about it. Of course he was also stalking, which
wouldn't fly at all day. How much if anybody knows
(48:35):
this song, please document it. Three one, seven, two, three, nine,
ten seventy. How many things in this song would not
be tolerated for five seconds today because there is a lot,
especially the line I felt like whipping out my Gemmy
and flat blasting both of you. Probably wouldn't work today,
(49:01):
just saying.
Speaker 7 (49:03):
I see the line. My first impulse was to run
up on you and.
Speaker 4 (49:06):
A Rambo Jammy and flap glass both of you. But
but instead I chilled.
Speaker 7 (49:15):
Instead he chilled.
Speaker 4 (49:17):
Yeah, I chilled, And then I went to the bank
and I took out every dime. I canceled all your
credit cards.
Speaker 7 (49:25):
Saw something about waiting in the waiting room for them
or something like that.
Speaker 4 (49:31):
Oh, man, who'd Mike Winer go? Here is Mike Winer,
the PACER's assistant leaving? Did I see that a little
bit earlier? I got to get the Bob Love on
just a second, because Bob is patiently awaiting all this
ridiculous dialogue for me to uh to get him on.
(49:53):
The Pacers say we have mutually agreed to part ways
with assistant coach Mike Winer. Well, I thought he turned
down the Nicks last week and he was going to
be back. I don't know too much about Mike Wanner.
He just looks like he has a very calming influence
and worked really well on a coaching staff, which was great.
That is, if for nothing else, certainly consistent. Mutually agreed
(50:19):
to part ways. That never sounds great. What happens when
you say mutually agreed to port ways? Normally you think
that's more he got a job that he couldn't refuse
someplace else, or that sounds like that those that employ
you are pissy and trying to say something nice as
(50:41):
you leave.
Speaker 7 (50:42):
Yeah, it kind of does give off the impressions maybe
things aren't all great.
Speaker 4 (50:46):
But I'll ask somebody over at the Pacers and they'll
get back with me around September meantime of the Andy
Moore Automotive Group Hotline. We'll get into that coming up
in just a bit. Bob Lovell of Indiana Sports Talk
Night number one of high school basketball, Hello, Bob, how
are you? High school football? I should say, how are you? Yeah?
High school basketball comes up in November.
Speaker 6 (51:06):
Yeah's one right now?
Speaker 4 (51:09):
All right? What do we start? Is it Center Grove
and one in Central on the east side? Because that
is outstanding. I sent a text out to coach Moore
a little bit earlier, incredibly happy. He's still back and
a part of it too, and has another great team
there with CG coming back to season, doesn't he. You know, yeah,
(51:30):
they are very good.
Speaker 9 (51:32):
The always great matchup between them and Warren Central starts out.
You talked about it being at Warren John This first
week conferences, you know, especially like six A, it's one
of those weeks where you're not in conference play yet
you have two games out of conference, and so you're
trying to schedule some great matchups. And that's a perfect
(51:54):
example of what's going on tonight. I mean, Brownsburg's playing
a team out of Maryland in the center, Grove Larren
Central matchups a great one, Lawrence North, Lawrence Central HSSE
and Carol out of Fort Wayne, Fishers and Carmel.
Speaker 6 (52:10):
How am I doing so far?
Speaker 9 (52:11):
Ben Davis Cathedral? Yeah, these are some great, great matchups
Cathedral again, Ben Davis. Uh So, it's a it's a
special night and tonight and next Friday night. You know,
those opportunities to play out of your conference before you
get into it.
Speaker 4 (52:26):
Well, let's start here. You mentioned this Carmel and Fishers,
and there is a familiar name lurking on the sideline
of the Greyhounds this season, that of Kevin right, Bob.
Speaker 6 (52:40):
It's great to have him back.
Speaker 9 (52:42):
I mean, you're talking about coaching royalty in our state
with his father Bud, winning is coaching history and with
Kevin state championships, he's he is as good as it
gets coaching wise.
Speaker 6 (52:57):
There's no question. It's great that he's backing in the
a chance to be back where.
Speaker 9 (53:02):
He's had tremendous success, and so yeah, it's it's fantastic.
I mean, Fishers and Carmel's a great matchup anyway, Yeah,
but that added drama kind of makes it even better.
Speaker 4 (53:12):
Yeah, Carmel three and seven, and you know that's not
gonna fly up there in Hamilton County at all. So
we'll see if Kevin Wright can infuse enthusiasm and winning
once again as he has done so much in the
past in his career. I did want to ask you Brownsburg.
I think in some polls, I don't know how official
(53:33):
this is. Start the season whatever is ranked number one
in six A. Spaulding Maryland now Spaulding, it still makes
athletic wear. I know that in basketball Spaulding was the
name of Judge Smail's nephew grandson, I should say grandsion.
(53:54):
Do we know anything about Spaulding from Maryland on their
high school football program at all? Stinking go yeah?
Speaker 9 (54:01):
But still, I mean, it's it's an opportunity to see
some people you've never seen before go against a different system.
I'm sure they're an athletic team and a talented team,
and so that's kind of a fun way to start
your season. Now, it's kind of unique, and why not
do it?
Speaker 4 (54:18):
So we have a battle to start the season in
Larry Township, Lawrence North, Lawrence Central.
Speaker 6 (54:25):
Come ahead.
Speaker 4 (54:26):
I think we know about l N. It will be
as top notch as anybody. Certainly in six A.
Speaker 6 (54:31):
Ellen is a team that.
Speaker 9 (54:32):
Can win the championship. John, I mean they really are.
They were playing as well as anybody last year. At
the end of the season, a lot of those guys
are back Lawrence Central. I think it's still kind of
in that building stage with Ellen.
Speaker 6 (54:45):
This is for real. That's a big battle.
Speaker 9 (54:49):
Obviously, normally they don't play that first week, but I
think because of some scheduled situations, it necessitated.
Speaker 6 (54:56):
Playing it on opening night.
Speaker 9 (54:57):
So even more drun if you will, because of the
battle for Lawrence Township.
Speaker 4 (55:05):
Bob Lovell of Indiana Sports Talk, as you covered on
so many different angles coming up later on tonight and
tomorrow night as well. Again, the first week of the
high school football season is officially under way. Later on
tonight Cathedral Ben Davis, So Cathedral moves back down to
five A. Ben Davis obviously still in six A and
(55:26):
that is a Friday night night number one matchup two.
Speaker 9 (55:30):
There's a lot of history obviously between these two schools.
Cathedral is really really good. Ben Davis rng number ten
in six A, Cathedra ring number two and five A.
I mean the rankings, I think they're accurate. I think
they're right on with how good both teams are. So
what else do you need between these two schools. You
(55:51):
just know that it's going to be high level football.
Played this one out on the west side of town tonight.
Speaker 4 (55:57):
The introduction of Decatur Central champion in five A year ago,
that moves up with the success factor to six A
and they get started out on the road in Avon
coming up this evening.
Speaker 9 (56:11):
Uh yeah, I think it's gonna I think the Cator
Central clearly can compete in six A. It's they're really
really good obviously in what they do. Coach in Wright
has a lot of a lot of guys back from
last year's seen, most notably their quarterback, both posts and
so look, uh Avon coaching change going through a little transition,
(56:31):
but it's a Decatur Central team that think can go
a long way in the six A tournament this year.
Speaker 4 (56:37):
So Bob Level has Indiana Sports Talk for you. Uh
New pal five A should be interesting because you got
one and two New pal in five A Cathedral in
five As previously mentioned, it certainly at some point in
the season when it really matters, these two teams are
going to meet up but you've got some some heavy
duty squads, maybe not on the same level in that
(57:00):
top five, including Maryville, Bloomington South and East Central and
five A.
Speaker 9 (57:05):
Bob as well, Fiveday is a really balanced class. John,
you mentioned New pal Cathedral. Probably start out as your
two best, the two favorites, if you will. Bloomington South,
as you point out.
Speaker 6 (57:17):
It's good.
Speaker 9 (57:17):
East Central has a lot of guys back. I would
pay attention to Lafayette Jeff if I were people. I
think that they're you know, they're wide open kind of offense.
They're pretty good. Snyder has had great success Warsaw Chitard.
It's the team people obviously always need to pay attention to.
So I just think it's a situation where there's a
(57:40):
whole lot excuse me, guitar four A.
Speaker 6 (57:44):
It's just a lot of things going on.
Speaker 9 (57:46):
But five A is as competitive as any class in
the state.
Speaker 4 (57:49):
John, all right, Bob, you mentioned Chatard. In four A,
starting out number one, they have a night number one
match up with Lafayette Jeff, which I believe in five
A is number six, So you get a challenge. Really,
both squads get a significant challenge in that matchup.
Speaker 9 (58:05):
Right out of the gate. There's no question. I mean
this is at Sheddar, it should be. I'm sure it's
probably sold out already. As I mentioned Lafe Jeff as,
the team should put the ball in the air and
make a lot of things happen. Schadard is Shadar. They're
as fundamentally sound as anybody and more have had a
tremendous amount of success at whatever class they're playing in,
(58:28):
and so talk about a great matchup, find out what
your team's all about on the very early on.
Speaker 4 (58:33):
That's one of them, all right. I know this to
be true because Ryan Wolfe, an owner of the Dairy
Queen and Martinsville, I suggested when the Artis win half
price Blizzards after the game number six Martinsville. And we've
talked about this before. Coach Dougars team coming off a
renaissance season that of a year ago, going twelve and two.
(58:55):
They get Bedford North Lawrence coming up later on tonight,
but in four a starting out number six. How good
are they compared to what we witnessed a year ago.
Speaker 6 (59:05):
I think they're very good.
Speaker 9 (59:07):
I think obviously you know you've had some changes in
personnel wise, but I think they're a solid solid team
tradition is what's big about them.
Speaker 6 (59:15):
This is a very story program. As we all know.
Coach Duggar has.
Speaker 9 (59:19):
Done a fantastic job and so in success they had
last year that they I think they're uh, they have
an opportunity to do a lot of the same things
that they did a year ago and you know, being
able to give them a challenge. But it's at Martin
Zill So mister Wolf maybe Bornson next year.
Speaker 4 (59:38):
Ice cream tonight, Ron Colly, how about the Royals and
Dwanger tonight? And for a right down here on the
south side. How you feeling about that one too?
Speaker 8 (59:48):
And that?
Speaker 4 (59:48):
And really they get a home game do the Royals,
and then you go on the road at Franklin Central
and you get Shtar coming up after that. So it's
gonna be no rest. You get started out tough and
it's going to be.
Speaker 9 (01:00:00):
Difficult a Dwinger obviously again this first week, John gives
teams like Dwinger and others from the four Wayne area
to come down in the central part of the state
and place some teams they might not normally get a
chance to play and you know, find out some lessons
about their football team. So that you have that dynamic,
that part of it that makes this such a great matchup.
(01:00:21):
And I think the Royals, you know, really trying to
get back to where they were two or three years ago,
and I think they've got a chance to do it.
Speaker 6 (01:00:28):
It's a good dwinger team.
Speaker 9 (01:00:29):
It's a typical type dwinger team, fundamentally sound, some athletic kids.
You can make some things happen, and so it's a
great opener, without question.
Speaker 4 (01:00:40):
I do dig this Danville and Gibson Southern on Night
number one. I don't know how you think. And you
get a familiar name, last name, especially Nick hart of
Gibson Southern with all that incredible success, and that is
a Night number one challenge for both of those teams.
Speaker 6 (01:01:00):
Well, both of them were pretty good.
Speaker 9 (01:01:02):
I mean Jamiekober's group had a great run a year
ago and you know, disappointed that they didn't get a
chance to play for the championship. A lot of those
guys are back Gibson Southern, as you point out, with
coach Harten has made a tremendous run.
Speaker 6 (01:01:16):
They like to throw the ball.
Speaker 9 (01:01:18):
It's gonna be an interesting matchup in that sense because
these are two teams that have a lot of guys
back had great success a year ago, and again one
of those out of your area type of games that
makes it even more intriguing.
Speaker 4 (01:01:32):
Yeah, Gibson Southern, by the way, number three in Class
three A, Leures, Evansville, Memorial, Gibson Southern, Lawrenceburg, Evansville Modern
Day the top five. When you get three two and
then class that you start factoring in a lot more
of the Southern Indiana football programs. And one that has
(01:01:53):
been as successful and consistent as anybody in two AA
would be that of the Miners of Lynton. They are
on the road at Corbin, Kentucky. Wow, Green County meets Kentucky.
Never has there been anything in my life more appropriate.
You know, listen, they're probably all related. I would imagine
(01:02:14):
Clinton Stockton is.
Speaker 6 (01:02:16):
Really really good.
Speaker 9 (01:02:17):
Coach Olivers group has played well, his son is one
of the best players in the state. And you know,
it's a tremendous way again to get out geographically and
find out a little bit about your football team, find
out what you need to work on before you find
yourself in the middle of conference play.
Speaker 6 (01:02:35):
And this is one of those perfect examples of it.
But I think the miners. I think. I think they'll
make the definitive run for the championship. I think they're
that good.
Speaker 4 (01:02:46):
James, look up Corbyn is Corbin, Kentucky somewhere between like
Lexington and on the way to Knoxville.
Speaker 8 (01:02:53):
Is that?
Speaker 4 (01:02:53):
Where do we know where Corbyn, Kentucky is because when
you travel by stagecoach it may take a while to
get there. I'm thinking, James, whereas Corbin, Kentucky. What do
the miners have to go from Green County?
Speaker 7 (01:03:05):
What's the Corbyn looks It looks like it's in the
southern part of the state. It's south of Lexington, south
of That's what I thought. It's in between London and Williamsburg.
Speaker 4 (01:03:16):
Well, I hope is it. Yeah, Well, here's a good
part about it. Then everybody in central Green County now
around Lenton will be able to go go down to
Uh what's the place in Tennessee where everybody goes, like
Dollywood or whatever?
Speaker 6 (01:03:32):
That is?
Speaker 8 (01:03:33):
What is it?
Speaker 1 (01:03:33):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (01:03:34):
They get to go down there afterwards too. That's on
the way right to Knoxville. I think Corbyn, Kentucky right there.
So Kentucky and Green County with a high school meetiing
coming up later on tonight. Now I mentioned this also
a little bit earlier as well. You've got a lot
of factors in here, especially a team like on the
southeast side of Indianapolis, the success we have seen from Lutheran,
(01:03:56):
and a program that seems to always kind of find
especially athletically speaking, in whatever they're doing in Addicts. I
think that's a really interesting matchup later on tonight for Lutheran,
Lutheran and Attics, as Lutheran is two way number three
to start the season.
Speaker 9 (01:04:13):
Bob, I think it's a great matchup in a sense
that these are two local teams. Lutheran had a many
in including me, he thought they had a great chance
to play for a championship a year ago. Dave passes,
teams are always good. I think Addics has gotten better
and better with their football team. Their basketball team, as
(01:04:33):
we know, is tremendous, but their football team is getting better.
I like the fact that they're challenging themselves with this
move to play Lutheran.
Speaker 6 (01:04:41):
I think it's great for both schools.
Speaker 9 (01:04:43):
I think it's great for football in Indianapolis and Central Indiana.
And it's just it's one of those again, one of
those types of matchups you don't get a chance to
do in your schedule because of conference play.
Speaker 6 (01:04:56):
So you've got one of these opportunities. I think it's
cool that most schools decide to do it.
Speaker 4 (01:05:01):
You always ask, and I'm going to beat you to
the punch. Here Eastern Green the Thunderbirds four and seven
a year ago, trying to improve on that likely not
going to happen, but they travel to number eight Springs Valley,
and the really good thing about it is win or lose,
you still go to the casino afterwards if you're a parent,
(01:05:23):
which is literally right across the road. That's glorious.
Speaker 9 (01:05:27):
Yes, I'm told by everybody down in that part of
the state, the valley's really good. It maybe one of
their better teams had a great run a year ago.
A lot of those guys are back and they are
they believe this team can make a legitimate run for
a one eight championship.
Speaker 6 (01:05:43):
That's the cool thing about it.
Speaker 4 (01:05:45):
Sean Knykirk is the first year head coach at Eastern Green.
I don't even know who that is. Well, you know,
let's see where this guy.
Speaker 6 (01:05:53):
Was first year.
Speaker 1 (01:05:54):
I do not know.
Speaker 6 (01:05:55):
I'm embarrassed by that.
Speaker 4 (01:05:56):
No, that's okay, because I don't even think John Harold does.
We don't know who this guy is either.
Speaker 9 (01:06:02):
I just think if Eastern Eastern Green's prominent alumnus would
step up financial knowing.
Speaker 6 (01:06:08):
And help out, I think it'd be I think it'd
be very worthwhile for everyone.
Speaker 4 (01:06:12):
I'm trying to get down there and help Jamie Hudson
the basketball coach, and be a part of their golf
outing coming up in a couple of weeks. But it's
always on that pesky Saturday or on the weekends really,
especially the weekends starting in September. It's tough on me,
Bob Level, just like the weekend nights are tough on you.
Speaker 6 (01:06:30):
My brother, weekend nights at the Level house. Yes, yeah,
the My wife has learned for over fifty years not
to expect me, and so you know how that goes.
Speaker 4 (01:06:45):
I know, Springs Valley, North Knox, North Davies, Mitchell. How
about Eastern Peacan the Battle of Eastern's on September the
nineteenth right there.
Speaker 6 (01:06:56):
That's nice, nice nice mashup.
Speaker 4 (01:06:58):
Hey went in North Central. That's a that's a heavy sketchedule.
Speaker 6 (01:07:03):
Yeah, that's a sketch.
Speaker 9 (01:07:04):
Don't know that's that you know about challenging yourself. Those
the people they're playing pretty much winning records from a
year ago, and a lot of guys back.
Speaker 4 (01:07:14):
Yeah, I like I feel bade Sean Nykerk. It's I
clicked on his name here and it says, yeah, hey JMV.
We don't know who this guy is either. Come on now,
you gotta bring that back, bring back to glory. There
you go, the glory now the Eastern Thunderbirds. All right,
you hit the airwaves tonight tomorrow night? What time again, Bob.
Speaker 6 (01:07:36):
Midnight year number on thirty two? Who's counting?
Speaker 4 (01:07:42):
My friend? You are incredible. Do we have any we
have any pre show dinner plans tonight down in Franklin.
Speaker 6 (01:07:50):
You know what, John, The pre show plan is we
go on Friday nights. This is living in a small town.
Speaker 9 (01:07:58):
You can appreciate it. Yeah, we go to the American
Legion and they have open to the public on Friday night,
and we know the cooks and everybody. So I'll go
down and grab that and come home and eat with
my my wife and our grandson's here. We may try
to convince him to stick around for dinner and.
Speaker 4 (01:08:16):
Nice have a little bit of fun. Yeah, that's a
good time. What do they serve with the American Legion
down there?
Speaker 6 (01:08:21):
Never know, it's just you know, yeah, pretty much.
Speaker 4 (01:08:28):
They got any Bengo playing or anything like that too, well,
I don't.
Speaker 6 (01:08:31):
Know about not while I'm there, No, but it's it's
the food's great. People are great. So that's that's a
big time night for the love of family here in Franklin.
Speaker 4 (01:08:41):
My brother, we love you. You know that I love you,
and I love the show. And uh, just a tremendous
job as usual, and we'll uh we'll do it every
week and see what happens coming up later on tonight
and again your hub of information across the state of
Indiana for night. I sall football, Bob Lovell and Indiana
Sports Talks. That's Bob, have a.
Speaker 6 (01:09:01):
Great weekend, thanks for calling me.
Speaker 4 (01:09:03):
Bob Level, Indiana Sports Soccer, the Anymore Automotive Group, Hoileline.
I'm gonna have to look up Sean Nykirk because I
don't know who he is, but he's I'm gonna tell
you what, that is as hard a job as you're
gonna find anywhere. So he clearly pulls up with his
you know, watson a wheelbarrow right there, because that is
(01:09:24):
a hard gig. You've got to be some kind of
tough to do that.
Speaker 8 (01:09:29):
You just do.
Speaker 4 (01:09:32):
So nice place. I love it. There's no doubt about that.
The resources just aren't football like, not a lot of
monetary factors in there. So good luck to coach Ny
Kirk and my Thunderbirds. James quick break will come back.
Tom dede Hart talks boiler Makers, Don Fisher Iu Top
of the Hour, Stay right there, ninety three five, one
oh seven five Fan.
Speaker 5 (01:09:54):
The ride with JMV.
Speaker 4 (01:09:58):
The Queen here the crop and there is no one
that doesn't.
Speaker 5 (01:10:04):
Better ninety three five and one oh seven five the Fan.
Speaker 4 (01:10:09):
An We now know the book on Corbin Kentucky over here, James,
are you ready? You are correct? JMV. Corbin Kentucky is
off of I seventy five. It is the birthplace KFC, really,
Dave Hammer Greenwood says, the birthplace. That's why letting put
(01:10:33):
that on the schedule. Then if it's the birthplace of
k and you know, it can't be like normal KFC
might be. It's got to be they have kind of
decent If it's the birthplace, right, it's got.
Speaker 7 (01:10:43):
To be special. They have to kind of like soup
it up a little.
Speaker 4 (01:10:45):
I think they're all kind of closing around here on
Have you noticed that? Yeah, they're all closing.
Speaker 1 (01:10:49):
Why is that?
Speaker 8 (01:10:49):
No?
Speaker 7 (01:10:50):
I mean I'm assuming because they're not.
Speaker 6 (01:10:51):
Is that young?
Speaker 4 (01:10:52):
Did the whole young thing do that?
Speaker 7 (01:10:54):
It could be the Young Corporation since I mean, because
they own a lot of differ they owned Taco bell
there is Yeah, I haven't seen Taco bells closing.
Speaker 4 (01:11:02):
So I always thought the whole combination routine, well it
was KFC and AMW KFC and Pizza Hut. Can you
not gross me out anymore?
Speaker 6 (01:11:12):
Please?
Speaker 11 (01:11:12):
You don't like the combo restaurants the combo you don't
want to know, you don't want to The only thing
you mixed together, well besides mixed drinks, was peanut butter
and chocolate.
Speaker 4 (01:11:23):
That always goes well together.
Speaker 7 (01:11:25):
That's a great comment.
Speaker 4 (01:11:26):
Everything else, don't jack with it.
Speaker 7 (01:11:29):
There is something to be said though, for being able
to go and get a bucket of fried chicken and
then also go and get like a case of DNA
baja blast. I just I'm just saying that that got
me through a lot of like high school and college.
Speaker 4 (01:11:41):
When when KFC decided to ice the decision between original
recipe and extra crispy. I think everybody checked out true
story is there? Do they not have extra I don't think.
I don't. I mean, I don't go, but I don't
think they offer original recipe or extra crispy like they
(01:12:02):
used to anymore.
Speaker 7 (01:12:03):
That's that's news to me. I mean, I haven't been
to a KFC in a really long time.
Speaker 4 (01:12:07):
Somebody tell me, I do not believe it's offered anymore.
And if that's the case, I blame that on the
reasons why they're all closing, because some of them just
like built new locations and then hired a bunch of
idiots and had to close five minutes later. Seriously, thank
you Dave for that information on the Andy Moore Automotive
(01:12:28):
Group potline. He has staked out in Lafayette, Indiana and
already really sick of the conversation going on right here.
From Golden Black Illustrated. Tom Deanhard joins us. Hello, Tommy D.
Speaker 2 (01:12:40):
West Lofted, Indiana, John West Lafaiette.
Speaker 4 (01:12:43):
West Lafayette, Indiana. Now, what's the KFC up there? Look like?
Speaker 2 (01:12:46):
Is it that bad?
Speaker 6 (01:12:48):
You know?
Speaker 8 (01:12:48):
What?
Speaker 2 (01:12:48):
You have me thinking it was the A and W
long John Silbers was a combo.
Speaker 4 (01:12:53):
Yeah that's not good either.
Speaker 2 (01:12:54):
Yeah, that's not good. I'm still trying to get over
the New Koch fiasco from nineteen eighty five too.
Speaker 4 (01:13:01):
I remember the day that that happened, and I knew
it was gonna go wrong because we were playing. Seriously,
we're playing a high school baseball game and place at
Indiana and we roll up there and they don't have
an outfield fence, so to hit a home run, you
just hit it out in the weeds like we did
in a whiffle ball.
Speaker 2 (01:13:20):
Oh yeah, I remember that. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:13:23):
I thought, there's nothing going to be right on this
day if they don't have a fence to hit a
home run over.
Speaker 2 (01:13:29):
So I got to ask you the one thing, KFC,
I think they deserve it anymore. But there's a place
called Lee's Chicken. They have these chicken livered dinners, chicken
livers fry with mashed Potato's a biscuit, gravey a little
bit of costlaw. That's outstanding.
Speaker 4 (01:13:45):
You were the only person in the world that's ever
suggested chicken livers are good.
Speaker 2 (01:13:51):
You don't seem too often. It's kind of nice guy.
Different tastes, different textures. Not for everybody, I know.
Speaker 4 (01:13:56):
I will say this. When they used to offer chicken littles,
that was the blank right there. That's good stuff. And
then I don't think they offer original recipe an extra
Crispy anymore. That's a major malfunction. That's a flaw right there.
You can't. You've got to have that option up there.
Not everybody wants to. What do you do like just
somewhere in between now, I guess original crispy.
Speaker 2 (01:14:20):
You guys have art treatures, fish and ships still down there.
Speaker 4 (01:14:23):
Nah, they've been going for a while, but I was
digging on them.
Speaker 6 (01:14:26):
Man.
Speaker 4 (01:14:26):
Let me tell you that. You know, it's funny too.
In a world where the whole world basically has been
in the past ten or so years, absolutely in love
with the chicken sandwich, and you are the inventor of
chicken and you have to close a place five minutes
after you open it. That's not good, I.
Speaker 2 (01:14:46):
Guess, Ida, And I know you've got me worried.
Speaker 4 (01:14:49):
No, I'm worried about it. I think it's got to
do with you. I think once they built that place
down in Louisville and hired Pat Kelsey, that all went
to hell.
Speaker 6 (01:14:56):
In the hemp.
Speaker 4 (01:14:56):
No, I don't know, I'm just making that.
Speaker 8 (01:14:59):
Basketball killing him.
Speaker 4 (01:15:00):
Yeah, So I think it's a struggle speaking a struggle.
I don't want to suggest it's a it's a struggle.
Do you feel like do you kind of feel like
in West Lofe at this season you're paying a penance
for what the basketball team's going to do all in
all with the football program this year? Is that's kind
(01:15:21):
of I mean, I guess that's what a rebuild mode
feels like.
Speaker 6 (01:15:26):
Right.
Speaker 2 (01:15:26):
Yeah, it's been like a one to eighty with but
where that hoop team's been, where football has been? But
the Hope, obviously, he's always eternal here John, always eternal
and soon, my friend Soon. August thirtieth, the Mighty Ball
State Cardinals were matriculate to West Loftie in Indiana for
a high new kickoff my friend. Two first year coaches.
Speaker 6 (01:15:47):
Get this.
Speaker 2 (01:15:47):
I don't know if you saw my story this week,
but the Ball State head coach is a Perdue grad. Yeah,
who didn't play football Perdue. It's a great story. He
just dropped his son off here at campus. He's at
freshman and student. A great guy to talk to. Mike
Yimovich and the coach you they call him, but a
great guy and just kind of a fun storyline for
the opener.
Speaker 4 (01:16:08):
That's pretty awesome right there. I mean, and I think
I think maybe the program is gonna need you would
predict some really enjoyable storylines, right and and what's been
the fan reaction up there to what they believe and
is predicted to be forthcoming in West Lothiete with the
football program this year?
Speaker 2 (01:16:26):
You know, I think the expectations are tapered. I think
everybody's just glad the page got turned, right, Yeah, the
last two years were just an utter abomination, and that's
putting it mildly, especially last year.
Speaker 8 (01:16:38):
One and eleven.
Speaker 2 (01:16:39):
Oh by the way, you know produced writing an eleven
game losing streak is twenty twenty five dollars, So the
page had to be turned. They got a coach in
Barry Odam, who is we're talking about one eighties eighties
from the former coach in a lot of ways, tough minded,
U a proven head coach and buttoned up. I think
I think he's gonna have a much better staff, So
(01:17:00):
there's hope. I'm not sure how good the talent is,
but you know, three four wins maybe, and just don't
get embarrassed. Don't get b John sixty six to nothing
by your rival, don't lose sixty six to seven Notre Dame,
don't lose fifty two to six at Wisconsin. Don't get
shut out for you to nothing by Penn State. Just
just be respectable, be competitive, and more than anything, just
(01:17:23):
at least be good and competitive against your peer programs.
Speaker 4 (01:17:26):
Especially so Tom Deanhard of Golden Black illustrated just about
ready to embark on yet another Purdue football season in
West Lofie. Give the folks out there some players to watch,
some highlights, some level of interest individually. Speaking on that team,
Tommy d.
Speaker 2 (01:17:44):
That way you start right, you know, I think, uh,
the offensive line and they've got kit designs in Indiana.
Joey Tanona, he was your last year former nord Lame player.
He had to give up football. I thought he was
never gonna play football again. Gotten a car crash and
Notre Dame can cuffed. Uh, but he's back and Uh
(01:18:05):
some people on staff think he's the best player on
the team, regardless of positions of Joey tune on the
number seventy nine and number one left tackle, they have
a Michael Jackson. John, they have a Michael Jackson on
the roster. Oh really, a transfer from Georgia wide receiver.
He looks like he's gonna be wideaver number one.
Speaker 8 (01:18:21):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:18:22):
And of course Devin Mockaby from from your neck of
the woods, so to speak, Boonville, Indiana. Uh, he's back.
They have another Southern Indiana running back from Castle High School, Chandler, Indiana.
Do you know where that is?
Speaker 6 (01:18:34):
Oh?
Speaker 4 (01:18:35):
Yeah, that's down what that's Newburgh. That's Warwick County. I
think that's where they just had that brawl when the
Lieutenant governor was down there speaking.
Speaker 2 (01:18:44):
Antonio Harris, he's the kid did like a lot. Yeah,
then that may be an interest to a guy like you.
A Southern Indiana backfield combination of West Lofe. You have
Devin Mockaby and Antonio Harris.
Speaker 1 (01:18:56):
How about that.
Speaker 4 (01:18:56):
Who's the Who's the starting quarterback?
Speaker 2 (01:18:59):
It's coma Ryan Brown. He just named Ryan Brown is
starting quarterback on Thursday. In the real shock there. You know,
he was here frans Or, North Carolina for spring football,
got coached by Belichick, and now he's back. He won
the job. And they've got a former Indiana state Sycamore here,
my friend, Well, he may want to buy. He may
want to buy Jersey number seventy to this gigantic offensive
(01:19:21):
tack with guy's about to six foot eight three and
thirty pounds.
Speaker 4 (01:19:23):
Is that Jude mccoskey, Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:19:26):
Sam, Yeah, the monolith, the monolithic. I'd like to say,
look at the monoliths.
Speaker 4 (01:19:32):
No will I have no. I don't know if I
could even attempt to spell it to look it up properly. Hey,
you mentioned a little bit more on Ryan Brown, who
was named the starting quarterback. Well, yesterday, I think is
what you said, right, was it yesterday?
Speaker 8 (01:19:45):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (01:19:45):
On Thursday? On Thursday, very young came over after practice unannounced,
but didn't think he's going to talk that day, and
he that's what he wanted to do.
Speaker 6 (01:19:52):
He just get quick work.
Speaker 2 (01:19:53):
Hey, Ryan Brown's our guy, and I think it was
everybody knew he.
Speaker 1 (01:19:57):
Was going to be the guy.
Speaker 2 (01:19:58):
And you know, he's one of those he's more of
an intangibles guy. He's very fast, six to four, well
like kid, and we'll see how he develops. I think
he's gonna have some solid in the talent around him.
Speaker 8 (01:20:10):
Well, which is gonna help.
Speaker 4 (01:20:12):
Yeah, I was just looking up Michael Jackson the third
right here, a wide receiver you're talking about from Georgia.
Now he was his hometown's Las Vegas. Is there an
Odeum connection there?
Speaker 8 (01:20:24):
There?
Speaker 2 (01:20:25):
He was at USC, he was a USC where we
played Georgia USC.
Speaker 4 (01:20:30):
But I think his hometown was Vegas. I didn't know.
There may be some Odemdam or friends of Odham connection
there maybe.
Speaker 2 (01:20:35):
Oh yeah, there's always using connections with these guys. Hey, hey,
another great story for your listeners. Ethan Trent. Of course,
Tyler Trant's younger brother, Ethan Trent. He was he was
a chubby kid pushing Tyler Trent's wheelchair around way back
in two thousand and eighteen. And Ethan Trent has grown
into a full grown man.
Speaker 4 (01:20:57):
And that's great.
Speaker 2 (01:20:58):
He's going to start. He's going to start probably right
Guard number seventy six is a great person, and the
staff loves Sam and he's going to be a guy
on every TV game they're focusing on, you know, Ethan Trent.
You know, they go through the whole Tyler Trend's story,
but just a whole other chapter. That's Tyler Trent's story
that really captivated the nation.
Speaker 4 (01:21:16):
A few years ago, six two, two ninety five, Ethan
big darn right there.
Speaker 2 (01:21:23):
Nice guy, Carl Indiana.
Speaker 4 (01:21:24):
Yeah, so good, good local story, and I'm sure that'll
be talked about a great deal. Well we'll uh, we'll
leave it up to those storylines. And I would think
that in this case, in closing here Tommy d that
any headway is going to be met with favorable enthusiasm
from a fan base that was just absolutely, dreadfully sick
(01:21:47):
and tired of it a year ago.
Speaker 2 (01:21:48):
Right, yeah, you know they stowed up despite all of
them Israel last year too. I think I think they
should show out again here. It's a huge school. They
got to win their first two games. You hate to
say those are must wins, but they're must wins ball
state in Southern Illinois. And then John USC the Mighty
Trojans come to West Afia. That could be kind of
a fun game. It produced two and zero. Here comes
(01:22:10):
USC for a three thirty kickoff and ross A Stadium, NBC.
It could be a fun atmosphere, probably will be a
sellout and who knows, you know USC Lincoln Riley, he's
on a bit of a hot seat out there. And
anytime those West Coast teams come east, things can get
kind of interesting too, So we'll see where where they go.
But those first two are huge for pretty obviously.
Speaker 4 (01:22:31):
Yeah, and then you'll get to the dialogue sooner rather
than later with the basketball team than oh yeah, they're
gonna start the season rate number one.
Speaker 2 (01:22:41):
I think they will. I think they will be the
dialogue and never rains. You know that they're talking about
Oscar Kluff now and Omar Mayor as we speak, boy,
as you can imagine, they're already going off the hook
for Bolling Meck and basketball.
Speaker 4 (01:22:53):
Matt Premier Matt Painters sent me a commercial with Kenny
Powers and Stevie Janowski in it the other day, like
randomly sent this to me. I go, that's awesome. Another
reason to like him as much as.
Speaker 6 (01:23:11):
We like him.
Speaker 2 (01:23:11):
Yes, you guys send that to me. I've just been
watching a lot of Candy Powers.
Speaker 4 (01:23:15):
Oh it's just isn't that just great stuff? That that
cookout at the Principal Cutler's cookout when Cutler got drunk,
that stripper hit Kenny Powers and his face got dumped
in that dip on the table. Once.
Speaker 2 (01:23:33):
Man, I love I love the season where he's where
he's playing the Myrtle Beach is a fun season.
Speaker 4 (01:23:38):
Yeah, so oh what is that Mexico? Oh? Such good stuff.
The best scene of all time and I think Matt
agrees with me on this. The best scene of all
time was Kenny and Stevie in jail in Mexico and
Stevie couldn't know he had to go to the bathroom
in the middle of the jail. Say oh, my goodness,
(01:23:58):
stop pleasing me, blotting me. Oh it's great, And.
Speaker 2 (01:24:02):
I'm sure you've seen Vice principles, right.
Speaker 6 (01:24:06):
I have.
Speaker 4 (01:24:06):
Oh, yes, I have seen that. Yes, that is really
good too.
Speaker 2 (01:24:11):
Just a lot of fun. But yeah, good laughs and
always a good distraction to make me laugh before I
go to bed at night.
Speaker 4 (01:24:17):
Got it, my brother, we'll be in touch a lot
this season, very football and basketball. Tommy, do you have
a great weekend.
Speaker 6 (01:24:23):
I appreciate it.
Speaker 2 (01:24:24):
Budyd be good, Tom.
Speaker 4 (01:24:26):
Dinard Golden Black. He illustrated a little primer there for
you with boiler Maker Football. Mine of storylines to keep
watch for. When they start that season, Don Fisher is
going to provide the IU angle. They have a new
field name Merchants Bank, stirring the echoes of the old school,
Green Machine. Anybody have a Green Machine card? I started
(01:24:49):
out with my first bank card. As I mentioned yesterday, James,
I was pumping Genie. Jeanie was the bank machine, and
you are say, I gotta go pump Genie. That sounds
like it doesn't sound great.
Speaker 7 (01:25:00):
Doesn't Yeah, sounds like there's a different meaning there.
Speaker 4 (01:25:02):
Yeah, so yep, I had to get our money out
of Jeannie. The Green Machine was one of the first two.
Don Fisher Top of the Hour, You and I rest
of the way, We've got the text line working three
one seven two three nine ten seventy or two three
nine ten seventy on the phone, We'll get to you
and more coming up. Ninety three five one oh seven five.
Speaker 5 (01:25:24):
The Ride with JMV.
Speaker 4 (01:25:26):
Now you listen here is not the song. He's a
very Mopie moving I'm gonaway.
Speaker 5 (01:25:32):
Ninety three to five and one oh seven five The Fan.
Speaker 4 (01:25:38):
This date in nineteen sixty seven, James, this incredible, this
unique voice was born. He is no longer with us,
but the legend lives on of Lane Stately of Allison
Chain's right here, My goodness, did you decide to play
this song? One of the best that highlights his range?
(01:26:00):
Of Voice cranked us up. This is them bones right here,
James Allison chains raw. That's awesome. Rip and a sky
point and a happy birthday to the late Lane Staley.
(01:26:25):
Text line three one seven two three nine, ten seventy.
Here it is JMV arrived today speaking with my wallets.
If the ERSA Sisters fire literally everyone and put someone
who proves that they are a competent a general manager,
I'll consider coming back. Life's too short to hate watching
her team play Jeff with a G, which is weird.
(01:26:51):
I was gonna pronounce it to gee Off. I'm just
gonna say gee Off. That's gee Off to me. There's
no way Jeff is not pronounced with a G. Geeoff
has a Bills jersey on. Geoff is a Bills fan.
Speaker 7 (01:27:07):
Looks like he's rocking the Josh Allen.
Speaker 4 (01:27:09):
Until further notice. Hey JMBA, with all this drama going
on with Richardson, the reports about the preparation last year
and etc. What does that say about the coaching staff
and management and the building. Good team's management, don't let
that type of stuff happen. At some point, Ballad has
to be held accountable as well. Instead of surviving constantly. Hey, Alex,
(01:27:33):
I've said this before. The disappointment does not lie with
me with Daniel Jones starting at quarterback.
Speaker 9 (01:27:39):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (01:27:39):
The disappointment is going into year three, week one and
these same guys don't have this guy ready to start
for the Colts and year three, week one can't start,
can't beat out a guy that's twenty games under five hundred.
That's an indictment on the entire organization, not just the quarterback,
but the entire organization. That's what to me is as
(01:28:05):
disappointing as anything else. Daniel Jones whatever, will watch and
see what happens. But the fact you guys picked this
guy in twenty twenty three and he can't be ready
in year three and week one, provided with your guidance,
your leadership, your enthusiasm, your knowledge, your coaching skill, and
(01:28:26):
he's not ready. It's on you as well as him.
That's the most disappointing aspect of this. Don Fisher Voice
of the Hoosiers and your calls coming up on this
Friday night one of high school football, and we've got
you covered ninety three five, one oh seven, five the Fan.
Speaker 5 (01:28:45):
The Ride with jmv Son. You've got a panty on
your head, you got fast ninety three to five and
one oh seven five the fan.
Speaker 4 (01:29:00):
Oh cranked us up? Is this Linel Richie? Where would
you rank this song in the catalog of Lionel Richie
slash the Commodores? This is Lionel Richie and dancing on
the ceiling James, This.
Speaker 7 (01:29:19):
Is definitely up there for me.
Speaker 4 (01:29:21):
See, I'd have to think that most line of Richie
fans would not have this rank very high.
Speaker 7 (01:29:26):
I love this song.
Speaker 4 (01:29:27):
I think most line of Richie fans view this as cheesy.
I think I know it's enjoyable. I agree like everybody
hates we built a city by starship and they hate that.
But I don't mind.
Speaker 7 (01:29:40):
Maybe it's just because you know this was well before
my time, but I think the cheesiness is kind of
part of the appeal to me.
Speaker 4 (01:29:47):
Dancing on the ceiling my favorite Linel Richie song. This
is a true story right here. Non commodores would be
you are the sun, You are the rain that makes
my life. This foolish Don Fisher is going to join
us coming up at a minute. I didn't want to
wish a happy birthday to an awesome girl, the daughter
(01:30:09):
of Mike and Nicole Wells. You know Mike Wells from
this show. Laila Wells today turns sixteen. Over there in
the Burg of brown Brownsburg, Indiana's finest. Laila Wells is
sixteen years old today. We love Laila, so happy birthday
(01:30:33):
to Laiala Wells. Hey make sure your dad this is sixteen.
We're not jacking around on this. He's got to be
spending some cash. I don't want to add the Mike
Wells getting over cheaply. Uh, hopefully Mike Wells is spending
something that is very car buying worthy. Don't let pops
(01:30:59):
get cheap on you, Laila. Happy birthday to Laala Wells
over in Brownsburg. She's sixteen. Don Fisher in his second JMV.
That's from Kyle season ticket holder since the Mayflower. The
foo Bar in year three at quarterback stings even more
when we get a season ticket holder price increase for
(01:31:20):
one less home game. Yeah, hey, here's what we got
for you. Here's your return on investment. JMVO. I was
on hold but had to hop off. I'm driving my
ten year old son to Holland, Michigan for a soccer tournament.
Hope you're doing well and the knee feels good, man,
the knee feels great. I hoop last night on the
(01:31:41):
worst floor of all time. It's the fieldhouse at Center
Grove and it's that all purpose floor bull crap that
sucks like rubber or something because you don't put hardwood
down because I guess you got all this other stuff
going on on top of it. But it sucks. Neil
then feels great, though, thank you very much. Shout out
(01:32:07):
to you. Evan McDowell. Northern Indiana where the reception sucks. Well,
I'm get in trouble if I got too deeply into that.
But you know how I feel about that. Not so much.
Even Northern Indiana, Northern Indiana, Southern Indiana, Hamilton County, Hancock County,
(01:32:30):
don't get me started. JMV. Richardson is not good enough.
But I will also tell you this, neither have those
that are supposed to be coaching him up.
Speaker 6 (01:32:42):
Sorry.
Speaker 4 (01:32:45):
That's the way that it is. These guys all know
what they're getting into when they get into it. It's
from Heath JMV. The football team that's Lenton. The miners
that are traveling to Corbin, Kentucky could stop by the
is it boucies or bookies. What the hell is that called?
That place where everybody goes and takes pictures in front
of some beaver's face. There's one in Richmond, Kentucky, right
(01:33:10):
off of I seventy five on the way to Corbin.
Thank you, Heath. Is it bouchies or bookies. I don't
want to go someplace where I feel compelled to have
to take a picture in front of some beaver's face.
It's like BOUCHIESE right.
Speaker 7 (01:33:25):
I've missed the last one.
Speaker 4 (01:33:26):
Luckies, second BUCkies boo cheese like BOOCHIESE to me, BUCkies.
Everybody that passes the one, you got to stop and
get your picture taken in front of the beaver's face.
Speaker 7 (01:33:39):
You've heard of BUCkies before today? Right?
Speaker 4 (01:33:41):
Like?
Speaker 7 (01:33:41):
Have you ever not seen never been there?
Speaker 2 (01:33:43):
Oh?
Speaker 4 (01:33:44):
Excise me. Seven eleven brother, I'm not big, I'm just
seven to eleven. I'm good.
Speaker 7 (01:33:48):
I mean, I take Walla over BUCkies, but neither one
of them are too high up in my book.
Speaker 4 (01:33:53):
See I live. I live down in Bargersville, where all
we have is like Speedway, which is kind of half assed.
Seven eleven. Now right, he gets some seven eleven stuff
inside Speedway Hey, I'm not. I'm not gonna be done
until we get Starvin Marvin's back. I have never I
don't even think you don't even know what starving somebody
explain at three point seven two three nine ten seventy
(01:34:15):
on the text line Starvin Marvin Starvin Marvin's convenience door
to James on the Andy Moore Automotive Group plotline. Hopefully
he has made reservations at our table for me and
his lovely wife Susie later on this evening so they
can watch me drink fifteen beers voice of the Who's
(01:34:37):
just DoD Fisher? Are those reservations etched in stone? Or
you're going to go watch the kid coach a little
bit tonight?
Speaker 3 (01:34:44):
Unfortunately for you, we are gonna go watch a kid
coach bath football.
Speaker 4 (01:34:50):
Son of a gun one of my who where who
am I going? Nobody else will watch me drink fifteen
beers in front of him? Only you guys.
Speaker 3 (01:35:01):
Well, you know what, when when he's coaching football and
I got a chance to go see him, I got
to do that.
Speaker 1 (01:35:07):
You know what I mean?
Speaker 8 (01:35:08):
You do?
Speaker 4 (01:35:09):
Who do the Stangs have tonight? Is it on the
field of hell? The red field tonight.
Speaker 3 (01:35:14):
They are on the red field tonight and they're playing Mitchell.
Speaker 4 (01:35:18):
Oh wow, well they should beat them by half a hundred.
Speaker 8 (01:35:22):
I know.
Speaker 3 (01:35:25):
But here's the here's the problem with that. You know
that the Stangs have struggled a little bit the last
couple of years under the tutelage of one Scott Fisher,
but this ought to be the year that that starts
to turn around. And at this point in time, I've
warned him that if you don't get it done in
(01:35:45):
year three, you may be a drub hole.
Speaker 4 (01:35:47):
Oh no, you didn't. You had that conversation, man.
Speaker 3 (01:35:57):
I mean, they're they're they're gonna they're gonna win some
games this year. I know that they had a bunch
of Southo Wars last year that have beated up a
little bit, and those kids played a lot last year
a sophomores, and they got pound it around. I know
that they're tired of being pounded around. So we're going
to see if this team isn't a lot better after
going through strength and conditioning in the offseason. And obviously
(01:36:20):
I think Scott has got I think he's got a
bunch of kids that really have bought into the program
and want to do well, and I think they probably
will turn start to turn around this year.
Speaker 4 (01:36:31):
Voice of the Hoosiers, Don Fisher. He's on his way
to Ellisville, so say hello to him if you're down
there in the field of Hell, the red field at
Edgewood coming up later on. I will tell you this.
Mitchell hasn't won a football game since the bus making
company left town. So I think you're all good.
Speaker 3 (01:36:50):
I think they are too. I think they'll win tonight.
I don't want to put Mitchell that because I have
no idea how good they might be. After a couple
of bad ceases that they had. That's the only team
that Scott's team was able to beat. So so I mean,
they did beat two teams the first year in this
(01:37:11):
and but they had to They had to forfeit the
Mitchell game the first year he was here because they
had an ineligible player that played.
Speaker 8 (01:37:19):
That game and they didn't know it until the season ended,
and so they had to.
Speaker 3 (01:37:22):
Forfeit that win. Uh So that meant that they only
won one game that first year. And now, of course
they won I think three, two or three last year.
But this year ought to be the turnaround they ought
to probably at least win five and if they don't
do that, like I said before, I've started to tell
him that if you can't get if you can't get
to that numbering maybe in Trouble.
Speaker 4 (01:37:43):
Boy, I explained this with my high school Eastern Green
And I love how they schedule Springs Valley out of
the gate because you can lose by fifty and then
go gamble at the casino right across the road, which
is a plus for everybody that goes down there. But hey,
now those are hard jobs, man, those are hard jobs.
(01:38:03):
And like what Owen Valley did the year before last,
and I think that guy is now an avon. I
believe that to be the case. But yeah, I mean,
those are you have to take advantage of those seasons
because it is really tough to consistently put that together
down there, and if you can, it's even more special
to those folks in and around that area. It really is.
Speaker 8 (01:38:25):
That's exactly right, And I'll tell you.
Speaker 3 (01:38:31):
Scott will tell you this too, that there's no question
to the people at Ellensville have really rallied around his
program believe that they're going to get it turned around.
Scott started a booster club when he first got here,
and those people are all bought in and the kids
are bought in too. It's going to be a good program.
(01:38:52):
There's no doubt in my mind about that, because I
know Scott's a good football coach and always has been.
And there's a question that will get turned around. It's
just a matter of time. And obviously this this from
my perspective, this would be the year to get it
started because he's got a bunch of kids that played
as sophomoores last year and they're now juniors and they've
gotten bigger and stronger.
Speaker 8 (01:39:14):
They should be able to compete for sure.
Speaker 4 (01:39:15):
And then yeah, the dynamic with the parents, hopefully you
have good parents, which I think is as important nowadays
as it ever has been. Now is our good friend
Lance Ringler on the school board down there, you know, I.
Speaker 3 (01:39:33):
Don't I don't know anybody of the school board. Scott
would probably tell me that I probably need to meet
some people so that he has a little more influence
and his pid.
Speaker 4 (01:39:46):
Yeah, there's no doubt.
Speaker 8 (01:39:47):
I'm not about to get it. I'm not about to
get involved in any politics.
Speaker 4 (01:39:51):
Just so you're there, Well, I like my We've talked
about my daughter before. She's fifteen and goes to Sana
Grove and plays basketball, and I refuse used to get involved,
Like if she needs if they're raising money and she
needs some money raised, I'll do that. But as far
as I said, this is all you all the time,
I don't care. I mean, I care, you know what
(01:40:12):
I mean. But I'm not getting involved in it. So
I'm not I mean, yeah, I'm not getting involved with
a bunch of jack assery. So I'll watch and go
and you know, if you need me, if you need
me for your support, I'm there. But this is all
up to you, not me. I'm not playing exactly exactly
how that it is.
Speaker 10 (01:40:31):
No.
Speaker 4 (01:40:31):
I thought about Ringler because he had one hell of
a TikTok video I saw earlier today. I thought I
didn't know if I was impressed or embarrassed for him.
Our mutual friend Lance Ringler a TikTok video.
Speaker 3 (01:40:46):
What's she doing?
Speaker 8 (01:40:47):
What she doing?
Speaker 4 (01:40:48):
He and you know, his his wife, Missy Arthur, is
one of the greatest golf female golfers in the state
of Indiana ever, I mean, just a phenomenal golfers. I'm
sure that you know. I think his son and his
wife and they did a takeoff of lover Boys loving
every minute of it on TikTok and I think he
put more time and effort into that than he has
(01:41:10):
in like three years of officiating.
Speaker 8 (01:41:18):
I'm sure he is really happy with you making that statement.
Speaker 4 (01:41:25):
Wow, man, that took a while. Maybe if you put
that much effort in, you know, to what you're doing officiating,
then we may have something. Actually, he's a good dude,
so as you can tell by me describing him. Hey,
so we're getting closer and closer to the start of
the season. So is it going to flow the Merchants
field at Memorial Stadium is not going to flow.
Speaker 3 (01:41:47):
Off the tongue Merchants bank Field, no question. They will
flow off my tongue because that man is giving him
a lot of money for a long time.
Speaker 4 (01:41:57):
Oh what's the price tag? Don you have the figure?
Speaker 3 (01:42:01):
I believe it's reported fifty million over I don't know
what the time span is, but over fifty million over
like maybe ten to fifteen or twenty years. I don't
know what it is exactly, but yeah, it's a it's
a significant chunk of change. That's why it's going to
be Merchant's Bank Field for the for a long, long time.
Speaker 4 (01:42:21):
I'm surprised you because you're such just a legacy, historic
legacy there that you're not sponsored. How are you not sponsored?
Speaker 1 (01:42:32):
Look?
Speaker 8 (01:42:32):
Man, you know I'm just glad to have a job.
Speaker 3 (01:42:35):
So don't screw me up.
Speaker 4 (01:42:37):
No, the Voice of the Hoosier Don Fisher is brought
to you by I'm giving somebody like there is some
sales dork right now that's going, Oh, that's a great
idea in writing that down. I guarantee it.
Speaker 8 (01:42:53):
Yeah's let's try to keep me out of that help radio.
Speaker 4 (01:42:57):
Well, that's that's a good chunk of change. And you
know it is a different invite. There was a point
in time, remember, Don, you and I would be sitting
here for five ten minutes going on, I can't believe
they're doing this. But you sponsor anything and everything now
because financewers are so much a part of the equation,
that's a part of winning. That's just the way that
(01:43:19):
it is.
Speaker 1 (01:43:21):
That's exactly right.
Speaker 3 (01:43:22):
And Mike tbri who is the chairman of the Merchants
Bank in Indianapolis, and it's a phenomenal company they are.
You know, when I first came to Indiana in nineteen
seventy three, I became My bank was Merchants Merchants Bank,
and they had the frog and all that kind of stuff,
(01:43:45):
but they got out of They sold it to National
City I think it was, and then I stayed with
National City after Merchants, and then I think they went
to PNC. I'm not sure that's the correct trajecry or not. Anyway,
long story short, Mike Petrie is the chairman of Merchants Bank,
and he and his organization decided to pony up this money.
(01:44:08):
Mike's always been a huge IU guy, and he.
Speaker 1 (01:44:12):
Does tremendous work, There's no question about that.
Speaker 3 (01:44:16):
I give each other a lot of crap about golf
and how many strokes he's going to get, all this
kind of stuff, But we have so much fun with him,
and he's just a phenomenal person on top of that,
and he's a huge IU person and one of those
people that loves Indiana University and revers it. And obviously
(01:44:37):
he's the guy and his group are the people that
put this package together, along with Sead Dolson, the outhletic director,
and a lot of other.
Speaker 1 (01:44:46):
People were involved in.
Speaker 3 (01:44:47):
Kevin Van Roy of the Varsity Club and obviously Pam Wooden,
the president of IU. So these people went to work,
they got it worked out, and the signage took place
yesterday I think it was.
Speaker 1 (01:45:00):
And they had a big press conference today.
Speaker 4 (01:45:02):
That's great. And I remember Merchants. If you were a
part of Merchants for a long time, you had a
green machine card back in the day, didn't you.
Speaker 1 (01:45:11):
That's exactly right.
Speaker 6 (01:45:13):
I did.
Speaker 8 (01:45:13):
I did.
Speaker 3 (01:45:14):
So that that's still agreed. They still have the they
still have the frog is there.
Speaker 1 (01:45:19):
Yeah, there is their.
Speaker 8 (01:45:20):
Mask, you know.
Speaker 1 (01:45:22):
And the frog was there today at the Prescott.
Speaker 4 (01:45:25):
Well the frog was there, Uh yeah, yeah, hopping hopping
the merchants BG. Well it used to be such a
significant part of the television broadcast too. I mean it was.
It was right there front and center, back of the
day with with Farm Bureau Insurance and MX Coal Company
as well. If you remember here locally, so yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:45:45):
Yep, exactly exactly right.
Speaker 4 (01:45:47):
Then there's a good stuff and stuff that is just
the world in which we live. Also the world done
on which we live is a lot of new faces
in a place that had a great deal of access
a year ago. We get closer and closer to the
start of the IU football season, from what you've witnessed
in practice since your return from Puerto Rico, what's standing
(01:46:08):
out to you as of late in preparation for the start.
Speaker 3 (01:46:12):
Well, I think the one thing that I've seen a
number of practices, and I think the one thing that
sticks in my mind here at the outset is that
we have maybe one of the better offensive lines that
we've ever had in Indiana in terms of depth and
a quality of player. I think they've got a solid
(01:46:32):
offensive line and a good offensive line maybe for the
first time since the Bill Mallory era, if you know
what I'm talking about, And honestly, that's saying something because
we've had a few good offensive lines since that era.
But I think this is probably one of the best
that Indiana has had in a while, and they're going
(01:46:54):
to need that because defenses.
Speaker 8 (01:46:57):
Have gotten more.
Speaker 3 (01:47:00):
There are more quality defenses in Big Ten play. Then
you're going to see most places at most conferences and
it's going to be a challenge. But I do think
that this offensive line is really good. I think Indiana's
defense is going to be really good under Brian Haynes,
who's been the coordinator forever under sig and I do
(01:47:20):
think that they're going to be good, but I think
they've got a couple of question marks in the defensive
line this year that until we see them play and
they and they, I don't think the first three games
are going to tell us a great deal in that regard,
because I think Indiana is just better than the three
teams that they'll face. But it'll give us an idea
of what to look for in that regard. That's That's
(01:47:41):
the one area I think that is a little bit
of a question mark. And it's not the ext It's
not the guys at the defensive end spots. It's the
guys in the interior that are new there. And I
think they've got a couple of really quality players there,
but will they be as good as what we saw
last year with CJ. West and James Carpenter are on
that defensive line and those two guys are gone, So
(01:48:03):
these guys will have to prove themselves.
Speaker 4 (01:48:06):
Don Fisher, voice of the Hoosiers, on his way to
Ellisville for Edgewood and their opener at home against Mitchell.
He's on the Andy Moore Automotive Group potline. I don't
think we've talked too much about the wide receiver. Certainly
we focused in on Mendoza and how he looks coming
from cal and you're going to be under center for
the Signetti and the Hoosias this season. But well, what
do this wide receiver? He got guys back, talented guys back.
(01:48:28):
How does it compare to what we witnessed a year
ago with that group that call passes from Curtis Rourke.
Speaker 3 (01:48:35):
I think the wide receiving corps, like last year, is
probably the deepest position group on.
Speaker 1 (01:48:40):
The football field for Indiana.
Speaker 3 (01:48:44):
Elijasa wraps back. He is tremendous, Omar Cooper's back. He
is tremendous. DJ Williams, who has not played very much
in his career in Indiana because he's had injury issues,
but he is as healthy as he has been in
his career at IU, and he is a special player
if he is able to stay healthy. And he's a
(01:49:05):
big receiver. I think he's six two sixty three someplace
in that neighborhood, has really good hands, and if he
stays healthy, then you've got those three guys. You've got
a kid named Lebron Bond who I've been really impressed with,
who is a true freshman, and this kid is not
very big, but he is tough. He makes all the catches.
(01:49:26):
He does a tremendous job of running with the football
after he catches it. For a freshman, I think he's
really going to help him. They've got a kid named
Charlie Becker who I think is a Richard sophomore this year.
He's one of the fastest kids on the team. He's
about six' three someplace in that neighborhood as, well another
tall receiver. There and they've got other guys.
Speaker 8 (01:49:48):
Too the tight end.
Speaker 3 (01:49:50):
Right Noah kowski is a kid From Northern illinois that
they are really high on at the tight end spot
who's a good. Receiver he's kind of Like Zach corton
was last, year kind of a guy that's a glue
guy around that tight end position that helps block and.
Speaker 1 (01:50:07):
Can catch the.
Speaker 3 (01:50:09):
Football so, honestly they've got all the.
Speaker 8 (01:50:12):
Tools they really.
Speaker 3 (01:50:13):
Do in my, opinion it's just a matter of getting out,
there playing against who they're going to play, against and
the schedule as much tougher as we. Know and again
those first three, games they'll probably try to work out
the kinks and so on and so, forth like all
teams do in their first few games of the, season
and then the real test will come when they Play
illinois that first game In Big Ten conference.
Speaker 1 (01:50:35):
Play so.
Speaker 3 (01:50:38):
There's still a lot of question marks in the sense
of how good this team might. Be BUT i have
a gut feeling That sigg believes that this team's going
to be very good and that context, alone if he's,
confident Then i'm going to be pretty confident.
Speaker 4 (01:50:52):
Too yet Don fisher with. Us are you guys going
to go to the village in to the?
Speaker 3 (01:50:57):
Game probably, not not, TONIGHT i don't think. So, actually
where AM i at? Here i'm GONNA i Think i'm
gonna go out and have a.
Speaker 1 (01:51:08):

This california knows how to? Pawne?
Speaker 7 (01:55:03):
OH i actually do in the, city.
Speaker 4 (01:55:08):
In the city of good Old watts in the. City
what song uses this as a sample from the nineteen?
Speaker 7 (01:55:18):
Nineties oh, GOD i can't even think of it right?
Speaker 4 (01:55:23):
Now come, on, now who's got? This you do have
elements too Of Roger trautman and so, rough so. Tough
this is a great. Song this Is Ronnie Hudson West
coast pop lock from nineteen eighty, two and the most
notable elements you hear would be that Of tupac and
(01:55:44):
Doctor dre And California.
Speaker 7 (01:55:46):
Love, yes you are correct.
Speaker 4 (01:55:48):
There it just came to. Me now that is a
part of the sample they use in that. Song there's
another part of the sample that may surprise you that we'll.
PLAY i don't know WHY i did. THAT i was
just thinking about it BECAUSE i am going to play
this tomorrow and out of THE Jamv. TAKEOVER i hadn't
heard that in a long, time and THAT i heard
it the other day AND i, Thought, man a little
bit of early eighties funk is. Good you. Know normally
(01:56:11):
you can Do, cooling The, gang The, Gap, Band, Brothers,
Johnson earthwind And. Fire but when you get a little
bit deeper in early eighties, funk you're going to Find
Ronnie hudson And West coast pop, lock which is. Awesome
(01:56:34):
as you can tell right. There that'll come up tomorrow
and out of THE Jamv. Takeover by the, way the
second part of the sample Of California, Love i'll remind
you Of james coming up here the next break and
we'll do. That how about that sounds like a. Plan
we've got a lot of. People and by the, WAY
(01:56:55):
i did make a, mistake which is not a rarity
unfortunately on this. Show HERE. JMV i Believe, Portland kentucky
is the original home Of Colonel sanders and is WHERE
kfc was. INVENTED i think the first one Was Salt Lake,
city but it originated Around, Corbin. Kentucky right.
Speaker 5 (01:57:13):
There, yeah it was the.
Speaker 7 (01:57:14):
FIRST i think franchise Was Salt Lake.
Speaker 4 (01:57:17):
CITY i was, inaccurate original and extra. Crispy still are
options AT kfc locations that are still. OPEN. Jmv i'd
bet your Old Odin Meat lockers sold a lot of
beefstick packages for the road tips road trips down To
(01:57:38):
lnton or From lynton To. Kentucky It's brian And Loffy
loffe probably right right. There the reason WHY i brought
that up Is lynton The miners top five in two
way of this. Season they opened up In, Corbin, kentucky
which is about as appropriate This Green county MEET kfc And, Corbin.
(01:58:02):
Kentucky it's. PERFECT. Jmv no mention OF. HSC i do
believe That bob brought it up a little bit, earlier
RIGHT hsc And CAROL i. Believe so we talked To
Bob lovell.
Speaker 5 (01:58:22):
A little.
Speaker 4 (01:58:23):
Background number one to short the season in SIX A Brownsburg,
spaulding a team out Of Maryland james that they're playing
ranked thirty third Nationally brownsburg And SPALDING. Jmv hindsight being twenty,
(01:58:43):
twenty knowing what we know, now what should The colts
have done in the? Draft levis was a? Bust so
what would have been the best course of? Action thank?
You that's a daily. Listener i've said this before, too like, anything,
anybody whether you go defensive, LINE i, mean for, EXAMPLE
(01:59:09):
i think that was A Joey porter junior, draft, anything,
anything in hindsight would have been better because you drafted
fourth overall and this right now is a massive bust
and it's going to go down as an all time massive.
Bust SO i really don't care if obviously their focus
(01:59:34):
was a, quarterback but you don't get a do, over
and you really don't get to explain. Yourself you do
it and it doesn't. Work it's a massive failure and
you have to own. It and right now they're owning.
It they're owning it by Starting Daniel. Jones but, yeah there's,
(01:59:55):
nothing AND i mean nothing that you're going to be
able to say anybody that is useful on a. Team
there has been zero use to this point For Anthony.
Richardson so therein lies the. Problem AND i know people
like to and Again i'm not on this guy for sending.
(02:00:17):
THIS i mean it's a good question to, ask but
it doesn't matter anybody, else anybody that was. Useful anything
you can find, again on the defensive, line anything you
can find at, linebacker anything you can find in the,
secondary because maybe if you find other means and other,
measures you don't have to do other things further down
the road and you can concentrate again on the. QUARTERBACK
(02:00:44):
i know it sounds, unfair it's just an absolute and
these guys all know what they're getting into when they
get into. It if you blank up a top, five
especially pick like that to the degree in which they
have to where we are right, now you're going to
(02:01:05):
have to pay for. IT i, mean, listen, literally. ANYBODY
i know it's, unfair but in their world it is wide.
RECEIVER i think that was a wide receiver rich midway through,
(02:01:26):
draft wasn't that The Za, flowers The Jordan, addison The
smith And jigba. DRAFT i think for wide receivers you
had some defensive. PLAYERS i think everybody was kind of
lured away From Jalen carter just but anything. Else, again
(02:01:48):
it is an, absolute it's an inexact science in what
you're going to. Get and oftentimes this, happens but you,
rarely if ever get a do over there that you're
getting a do over right now and getting the opportunity for,
it because this is a, rarity to say the. Least
(02:02:09):
so hopefully that makes. SENSE i would like to put
it a different, way unless you. CANNOT i would also
like to tell you. THIS i THINK i saw this
on the inbound today because the roads downtown are so
jacked up with. Construction SO i came Up meridian And
Clayton Anderson's Country bar is putting the signage out. Front right,
(02:02:34):
NOW i believe you're about ready for the soft, opening
and it's not going to be too long until we're
doing a show At Clayton's Country, bar which is right
down off of what is That meridian And May meridian
And maryland Maybe Clayton's Country, bar the old Hard Rock.
(02:02:58):
Cafe we went to an incredibly soft, opening if you,
will back during THE Wnba All star weekend here and
you can kind of see what they were, doing but
they are officially putting the signage out front today and
it looks, outstanding absolutely. Outstanding so you'll be able to
(02:03:22):
check that. Out you'll be able to join us relatively
soon doing a live show. THERE. Jmv what are your
thoughts On Decatur central moving up a class after a
championship a year ago and starting out Against avon on
the road coming up later on. TONIGHT i think the
one thing that you'll, find And Bob lovell AND i
had a bit of a conversation about this, earlier is
(02:03:45):
the depth of this team is going to be challenged
with this schedule with their new, class but there is
a great deal of talent on The southwest, side no
doubt about. That i'm really appreciating This Old Man Kelsey Nature. Hour,
sincerely chasing v Old Man Kelsey's, Woods Old Man kelsey's,
(02:04:11):

it BUT i do know this.
Speaker 4 (02:05:17):
