Speaker 2 (00:20):
I am so excited about our new series.
Last week, pastor Scott andBritt called me and they said
we're kicking about our newseries.
Last week, pastor Scott andBritt called me and they said
we're kicking off a new series.
We want you to take this firstSunday because, for anybody who
knows me, I've spent the last 26years talking and teaching on
Holy Spirit.

(00:40):
The title of this new series isTo Be Continued.
I gave it a little subtitle, which is Unwrapping Spiritual
Gifts, but To Be Continued.
The reason that we have thattitle for this series is many
denominations, many theologians.
Many want to say that the actsof the apostles, that Holy

(01:03):
Spirit's work, died out in acts.
Well, let me just tell you, folks, this is a church who does
not believe that he is stillliving.
He is still active.
Yes, he is.
Can I get an amen this morning?
Hallelujah, and so, uh, thismorning pastor Scott was texting

(01:24):
the team at all of our campusesand I just want to read this
over you so that you know andunderstand the purpose behind
this series and what our pastorswant to see happen.
What he wants to see at eachcampus is he wants us to
experience increased hunger anda fresh oil burning All of us

(01:50):
aflame.
It's not just a catchy phrasesaying we're all aflame.
No, it is a daily pursuit ofhim.
It's not earned in thetraditional sense, but it's
something that we aim our lifetowards.
Can you all say I'm going to bepresent in this series?

(02:11):
Amen.
So as I began praying about this, I truly felt like what the
Lord was saying was introduce me, introduce Holy spirit this
morning.
And this is what it felt like.
As that came on me, I felt thefear of the Lord, and so I want
you to get out your Bibles.

(02:31):
If you're a note taker, takenotes.
You can go straight to the app.
They have my notes on the app, because today these are not my
words.
I'm going to preach to you fromGenesis to Revelation.
We'll be finished about fiveo'clock.
If Rusty can do it, I can do it, and sometimes, pastor Scott,

(02:52):
listen.
We're going to go from Genesisto Revelation and I'm going to
show you this morning that Holyspirit is not an it, he's not a
goose bump, he's not a song.
He is the third person of theTrinity and he's living and he's
active.
And so I felt this fear of theLord this morning.

(03:14):
It was almost like somebody hadcalled me and said hey, listen,
we've got two guests.
This there will be there thisSunday.
Um, heaven is going to allow,uh, billy Graham and Dr Martin
Luther King to come to the rock.
We want you to introduce them.
What would you say if you hadhad that job?
Like, what do you say about twomen who changed history for the

(03:41):
kingdom of God?
And that's what we get to dothis morning.
So I want to make a declarationto you today, and this is where
we're going to begin.
It's going to come out a littlebit like a creep, but this is
who we are.
We believe in God's dream, hislove being displayed by sending

(04:02):
Jesus to redeem us.
We believe Jesus promised usHoly Spirit's coming and he
entrusted us to him.
We believe Holy Spirit has beenactive in the Trinity since
before Genesis 1, has beenworking throughout scripture.
He paved the way for Jesus'arrival.

(04:22):
He came with fire to ready thechurch and the bride.
He makes us like Jesus.
He's empowering us to changethe world and he will ultimately
be the one to take us to heaven.
We are, if you've ever had anyquestion in this room today, we
are a spirit-filled, spirit-ledhouse and we will be 100%

(04:51):
dependent on the Spirit of God.
We believe all the gifts arefor today.
They are still in action, arebeneficial in the body of Christ
and should be done in properorder.
We believe Holy Spirit comes inus, but we also believe that he

(05:11):
comes on us and he fills uswith power, which is manifested
Hear me this morning throughmany evidences.
We never place the gifts ofHoly Spirit above the giver,
because he points us.
He's the one who points usright back to Jesus, who honors

(05:35):
the Father, and when we partnerin unity, we are overcome by his
presence.
This morning, my prayer is topresent to you who he is, where
he is, why he is and what hedoes.
If you notice, I didn't ask thequestion because there's not a

(05:58):
question to answer, it's adeclaration.
Amen, in Luke, chapter 24,.
I love this chapter becauseit's the chapter where Jesus has
already been crucified, he'salready been placed in the tomb
Um the his disciples you knowthere were the 12, there were

(06:19):
the 70, and then there wereabout 500 that he spoke to in at
any given time.
These people were distraught, they were broken, because the
majority of them truly felt likethat Jesus was going to come
and set up his temple at thattime.
So you know the story.
You know the two that arewalking on the road to Emmaus.

(06:39):
They, I think they just had toget out of town.
They're like we're done, we'redone, we are broken, we are
devastated, we're out of here.
That journey is about two hoursand, if you know it, I got to
really hurry.
I love this story.
All of a sudden, they're likedevastated.
They are devastated, they'retalking about it, they are so
sad.
All of a sudden, somebody comesup next to them.

(07:01):
They don't even.
They're so devastated, theydon't even recognize it, they
don't even know it's him.
In the midst of that key beginsto talk to them about everything
that they're talking about, andthen it says they get, they get
to where they're going.
They say come and join us.
They go in, they get somerefreshment, they sit down and
it says he breaks the bread andtheir eyes were open and in an

(07:24):
instant he vanished.
In an instant.
Then, all of a sudden, they saydid our hearts not say it out
loud burn, say it out loud.
Did our hearts not burn withinus?
They turned right back aroundand the scripture says they ran

(07:47):
all the way back to the 11 andthose with them and said guys,
you're not going to believe it.
You're not going to believe it.
And right as they are declaringthe testimony of a risen savior,
he appears to them in the roomand this is what he says.

(08:11):
When I was with you before, Itold you that everything written
about me in the law of Mosesand the prophets and in the
Psalms must be fulfilled.
And then he opened their mindsto understand the scriptures and
he said yes, it was writtenlong ago that the Messiah would

(08:31):
suffer and die and rise from thedead on the third day.
It was also written that thismessage would be claimed with
authority of his name to allnations, beginning in Jerusalem,
that there is forgiveness ofsins for all who repent.
You are witnesses of all thesethings, and now I will send Holy

(08:58):
Spirit, just as my fatherpromised.
But stay here in the city untilHoly Spirit comes and fills you
with power from heaven, john 14.
I'm going to talk fast, so Ineed you to listen fast, john 14
.
I tell you the truth.
Anyone who believes in me willdo the same works I have done,

(09:23):
and even greater works, becauseI'm going to the Father.
You can ask for anything in myname and I will do it so that
the Son can bring glory to thefather.
You can ask for anything in myname and I will do it so that
the son can bring glory to thefather.
Yes, ask me for anything in myname and I'll do it.
If you love me, obey mycommands and I will ask the

(09:44):
father and he will give youanother advocate who will never
leave you.
He is Holy Spirit who leads youinto all truth.
The world cannot receive himbecause it's not looking for him
and doesn't even recognize him.
But you know him because helives with you now and later

(10:10):
he's going to be in you.
Dietrich Bonhoeffer said theHoly Spirit is the living God.
He's not some inactive, immovable, lifeless concept.
He's the living God.

(10:31):
We cannot begin this teachingthis morning without
understanding Holy Spirit, hiswork within us, his work in the
church.
The purpose is the work in theworld and the spiritual gifts
awaiting us.
If we do not recognize that heis fully God, holy Spirit is not

(10:53):
an it.
We must have an understandingof the Trinity, the triune
Godhead God the Father, jesusthe Son and Holy Spirit.
Before Genesis 1, before Genesis1,.
Don't let this blow your mind, but they, the Godhead, have

(11:17):
always been.
Eternity began before Genesis 1.
You and I, as the family of God, get to step into eternity when
we have accepted him.
Amen into eternity when we haveaccepted him Amen.

(11:40):
So, before Genesis one, they hada dream.
They made a decision.
God acknowledged his desire tolove and to be loved and up
until that point there were onlyheavenly beings that had
created, therefore worshipippedhim and were an extension in
eternity.
God wanted a family Creation tolove him with the same love

(12:04):
that he was, because God is love.
But they knew, before Genesis 1, that a created humanity, given
choice, would need a savior, aredeemer, an advocate, a
comforter and a teacher.
So, in order to see this dreamcome to fruition, they decided,

(12:27):
before the foundation of theworld, that God the Father would
oversee the plan, that God theSon would be slain and give his
life for the sake of the plan.
God Holy Spirit would make away for the plan and empower
those redeemed to carry out thefullness of the plan, that's you

(12:54):
and me, when we say notice sinand we choose to be filled with
the very Spirit of God.
So who is he?
From the beginning of creationin Genesis, to the end of times.
In Revelation we see the ebband the flow of the divine
nature of Holy Spirit in Trinitythroughout Scripture.

(13:14):
In Genesis 1, the Spirit of Godwas hovering over the waters.
In Genesis 1, 26, god said letus us in unity make mankind
humankind in our image.
In John 1, 5, it says in thebeginning was the word and the

(13:36):
word was with God and the wordwas God.
He was from the beginning andthrough him all things were made
.
Without him, nothing was made.
In him was life, and that lifewas the light of all mankind.
The light shines in thedarkness and the darkness has

(13:58):
not overcome it yet.
In the word Trinity it meanstry.
It means three.
Unity, meaning God is threedistinct individuals God, the
father, the son, jesus and Holyspirit.

(14:19):
Here's just a portion of thedefinition.
You can take a picture of thescreen.
They're going to have it backhere.
Who is Holy spirit?
The third person of the Trinity, who exercises the power of the
Father and the Son inredemption, because Holy Spirit

(14:42):
is the power by which believerscome to Christ and see with new
eyes faith.
He is closer to us than we areto ourselves, like the eyes of
the body through which we seephysical things.
He is the one through whom allelse is seen in a new light.
This explains to us why therelationship between the father
and the son is so prominentthroughout the gospels, because

(15:07):
it is through the eyes and thelens of Holy Spirit he brings a
person to new birth John 3, 6.
That which is born of the fleshis flesh, but that which is
born of the Spirit is Spirit.
It is the Spirit who gives uslife John 6, 3.

(15:29):
Holy Spirit becomes ourparaclete, our helper, the one
promised to come, the triune ofthe Father, son and Holy Spirit.
They are unified.
He is God, he's the Spirit ofGod, he's equal to God, he's
eternal, he's omnipresent, he'somniscient, he's sovereign.

(15:51):
He was involved in creation, heenabled and inspired the
writing of the word of God.
He helps us to recognize theglory of God.
He enables us to call upon thename of Jesus and call him Lord.
He is referred to as a person.
He speaks, he witnesses, hesearches, he can be grieved, he

(16:16):
loves, he has a mind, he hasintelligence, he can be tested,
he can also be resisted and hehas a will.
Dr RT Kendall says he will notbe limited by our own personal
theology.
Can I say that again, holySpirit will not be limited by

(16:43):
our personal theology.
The Lord Jesus said of HolySpirit he blows where.
He will Never think of HolySpirit as an it.
I think we're wanting to getthat message across to you.
He's not an it, he's not anattitude, he's not an influence.
He is a person and has veryunique and definite ways.

(17:07):
You can call them peculiar, youcan call it eccentric or unique
, if you like.
He will have his way.
He therefore moves in at willwhen we least expect it and
sometimes, and I would say mostof the time, when we are not

(17:29):
deserving of it.
Holy Spirit in us gives useternal life.
Holy Spirit on us gives us thepower to live and to step into
doing, exceedingly andabundantly far above.
He's in us and he's on us whichproduces in us that,

(17:54):
exceedingly and abundantly, thegreater works that Jesus talked
about.
We, his kingdom people, stepping in to bring the kingdom
message.
Understanding stay with me,understanding the function of
Holy Spirit and that he can beaccessed, called upon, worshiped

(18:18):
and learned from is vital forthe Christian walk.
We must know him and know himintimately.
It's as simple as this.
My name is Lisa, but I am adaughter, I am a wife, I am a

(18:38):
mom, I am a Mimi, I am a sisterand I am a friend.
They can call me by my name, but my kids don't call me Lisa.
They call me mom, becausethat's the part of me they want
to access.
When my grandkids pick up thephone and sweet little four and

(18:59):
a half year old Grace haslearned how to unlock her mom
and dad's phone and I wasgetting on the airplane
yesterday and she called me andshe said hey, mimi, what are you
doing?
Listen to me right now.
When my grandkids call me, mimi, you want my responses.
What you want, baby.

(19:20):
Hear me what I'm about to say.
When we know the function andhow to access the power of Holy
Spirit and His promise to notjust rest on us but, as the

(19:43):
people of God, to be completelyconsumed, the act.
You walk in a room and theatmosphere shifts.
You walk in a room andconviction falls.
That is the power of thefunction.

(20:03):
If you have ever questioned whydo we need the Holy spirit, I'm
telling you right now.
I'm telling you don't getcaught up with the evidences,
okay.
Don't get caught up withtongues.
Don't get caught up with theevidences.
Okay, don't get caught up withtongues.
Don't get caught up with peoplefalling down.
Do you know what that is?
Sometimes people get so full ofthe Spirit of God they just

(20:23):
can't stand up anymore.
Don't let that freak you out.
Just watch a football game or abaseball game or a soccer game
and you watch how people can acta fool over their team Right,

(20:46):
especially youth leagues.
Listen to me, so don't tell methat when the promised power of
holy spirit comes on us, that wecannot access who he is and
operate in the power that he'sgiven us.
I totally took a left-hand turn.

(21:08):
Do you still love me?
Listen, listen quick, listenquick.
Second Corinthians 13, 14.
May the grace of the Lord JesusChrist and the love of God and
the fellowship of Holy Spirit.
Don't miss this.
The fellowship of Holy Spirit.
That word fellowship in theGreek means that we choose to

(21:30):
associate.
It's intimacy, it's communion,it's joint participation, saying
I can't live without you, Ican't do this without you.
I've got to have the power ofHoly Spirit in my life.
Colossians 2, 9 and 10,.
For in Christ, all the fullness, all the fullness of the deity,

(21:55):
the divine nature of the triune, godhead, lives in bodily form
and in him and through him, you've been made complete.
If you're born again, thefullness of the deity of the
Godhead dwells in you.
Do you hear what I'm saying, matthew three, after being

(22:20):
baptized, jesus came upimmediately from the water and,
behold, the heavens were opened.
The heavens were opened.
This is right before he beganhis ministry, hear me.
Prior to this he was Jesus thecarpenter, the son of Joseph and

(22:46):
Mary.
But this day, when he went tothe water for his cousin to
baptize him, it says the heavenswere open and he saw the spirit
of God descending like a dove.
You know what the Greek worddove there means A dove.

(23:07):
But hear me, holy Spirit's nota bird.
Don't get all caught.
You gotta study, you gottabreak it down.
Let me read to you why it showsfor that function in that
moment.
It descended because it wassomething physical and it was

(23:31):
something supernatural.
Because they also heard a voicefrom heaven say Because it was
something physical and it wassomething supernatural.
Because they also heard a voicefrom heaven saying this is my
beloved son, in whom I am wellpleased.
Let me talk to you about dovesvery quickly.
Doves are known for theirgentle, cooing sound.

(24:01):
They are the most excellent offlyers strong, fast, swooping
flight patterns.
They choose one mate for life.
They build simple nests.
Doves forage for seeds andgrains and they are known for
their unique drinking behaviorof sucking water without raising

(24:25):
their heads but keeping theireyes fixed.
Keeping their eyes fixed, dovesare considered intelligent
birds, capable of recognizingthemselves in a mirror.

(24:46):
Holy Spirit can and knows whenhe sees himself.
I want to run right now, but Ican't run yet.
In Matthew, chapter four, immediately following this, the
spirit led him into thewilderness where he fasted 40

(25:07):
days and he went to war with thedevil.
Through his hunger, he declaredwe don't live by bread alone,
but by every word that proceedsout of the mouth of God At the
pinnacle.
Through his hunger, he declaredwe don't live by bread alone,
but by every word that proceedsout of the mouth of God.
At the pinnacle of the temple,he declared don't you dare judge
God's character, putting him tothe test.
On the mountain, viewing theworld's kingdom, satan said I'll

(25:27):
give you all that, you see, ifyou'll bow down before me.
And Jesus' response was youwill worship the Lord, your God,
and serve him.
Only Verse 17,.
He immediately left there, wentback home being filled with the
Spirit of God and began topreach these words repent, for
the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

(25:48):
Jesus' humanity needed HolySpirit's power to deal with the
enemy, to step into his ministrywhen the Spirit came on him.
It's all about bringing kingdomto earth.
Rabbi Joshua Ben Levi says thiswhen a person filled with the

(26:11):
spirit of Adonai walks alongtheir road, a troop of angels
marches before them, announcingin the spirit realm, make way
for the image of the Holy One.
When Holy Spirit is living andactive in our lives, then the

(26:33):
kingdom of God is what is withinus.
The kingdom of heaven is theculture we produce when we live
it.
Culture is shifting andchanging.
Can we all agree to that?
But he changes not.
If you want to know how youlive and you survive in this

(26:54):
tension, he changes not.
Nothing should shake us.
As Psalm 91 was read over ustoday.
If he's reigning within you andme, then his kingdom not the
world's kingdom is leading anddirecting our lives, is leading

(27:18):
and directing our lives.
It's being brought on earthbecause it's in us.
If Holy Spirit is in us, thenthere should be a distinction
that separates us from the world, because we're set apart and we
must raise a standard equal towhat is on the inside of us.
Every one of us in this roomare releasing something.

(27:39):
Hear me, all of us arereleasing something.
We have to ask ourselves whatand from what source are we
releasing it?
I could hang there, but I can't.
Reverend Kenneth Hagin says thiswhatever God has called you to
do, whatever he's gifted andendued you by the Holy Spirit to

(28:01):
accomplish, he hasn't changedhis mind.
He hadn't changed his mind onwhat he's called you to do.
Corrie ten Boom said thistrying to do the Lord's work in
your own strength is the mostconfusing, exhausting and
tedious work.

(28:21):
But when you are filled withthe Spirit of God, then the
ministry of Jesus flows out ofyou.
What does Holy Spirit do?
He points you to Jesus.
He reveals our sin and iniquity.
I'm going to go past these.
You can look on the app if youwant all the scriptures.

(28:44):
These are not my words.
This is the Word's Word.
He reveals our sin.
He's our constant companion.
He prays through us.
I am going to read this oneRomans 8.
In the same way, the Spirithelps us in our weaknesses.
We do not know what we ought topray, but the Spirit himself

(29:08):
intercedes for us throughwordless groans, and he who
searches the heart knows themind of the spirit, because the
spirit intercedes for God'speople in accordance to his will
.
I just want to pause right here, and then I'm going to keep
moving.
I don't know if any of you inthis room have ever been at a

(29:29):
place in your life where you'repraying for a new job.
You're praying for yourfinances.
You're praying for yourchildren when they're acting
crazy.
You're praying to survive thetoddler years.
You are praying for your bossbecause you have issues with him
.
Or maybe there's sometimes thattragedy strikes and you begin

(29:52):
to pray and you run out ofEnglish words.
Anybody ever been there?
Have you ever had that cry thatcomes from the pit of your
stomach, almost to the point youthink you're going to throw up
your stomach?
Am I the only person?
Have you ever been desperatefor God to move that you run out

(30:14):
of English words?
I have, and that's when thespirit will pray through you.
He's our teacher, he's the giverof revelation and truth.
He's also the one who gives usthe power to do his work, and

(30:34):
he's promised us nine gifts withnine fruits.
I'm not going to touch on that.
Pastor Chris is going to betalking about that next week.
I'm not going to steal histhunder, but there are nine
gifts.
The Holy Spirit is the giver ofgifts words of knowledge, words,
words of wisdom, gifts ofprophecy, gift of faith, gift of

(30:57):
healing, the working ofmiracles, discerning spirits,
tongues that's not my word, it'sin the scripture the
interpretation of tongues.
Don't get all freaked out aboutthat, because let me talk to
you about what your evidenceshould be.
It's called fruit.
I've known people thatprophesied, that had discerning

(31:23):
of spirits, and they were themost arrogant, mean people I've
ever met in my life.
The fruit is this.
What's the first one?
Love, joy.
They're happy, they're not bad.
Love, joy, peace,long-suffering, gentleness,

(31:49):
goodness, faith, meekness.
Against such, there is no lawof mankind.
I got to keep going.
The entire work of Holy Spiritis related to his divine purpose
of bringing home the bride ofChrist.

(32:11):
Did you know?
You're the bride of Christ.
Guys, I'm so sorry You've heardus say this for years.
If I've got to learn to be ason of God, y'all go starch that
white wedding gown.
Listen to me, you gottaunderstand sonship, but you have

(32:35):
to understand the church is thepride that Jesus paid for.
He didn't just come to simplyhelp us cope with life or to
bless us with spiritual gifts, although it's true.
Holy Spirit became our divinecomforter and and that is not
his ultimate purpose in ourlives, every manifestation of

(32:57):
himself, every divine touch wefeel in our lives is intended to
reveal Christ in us, so that wewill reveal his kingdom in the
earth.
You hear me?
I'm going to say that again.
His purpose is to reveal Christin us, so that we turn around

(33:23):
and reveal his kingdom purposeon and in earth.
I don't have time to go intowhere he is.
You can go on the app.
I have scriptures from Genesisto Revelation.
The work of the spirit has beenfrom one book to the other

(33:47):
where he filled men with thespirit of God in order to do his
purposes.
I'm almost done.
If the team would come help meand, leaders, if you'd go ahead
and take your place.
Ephesians, chapter one.
It says you were included inChrist Jesus.

(34:07):
Don't be distracted.
Listen, read the scripture onthe screen.
You were included in Christwhen you heard the word of truth
, the gospel of salvation.
Having believed, you weremarked in him with a seal, the
promised Holy Spirit who is adeposit in you guaranteeing our

(34:32):
inheritance until the redemptionof those who are God's
possession.
Until the redemption of thosewho are God's possession.
1 Thessalonians, chapter 4 saysFor God did not call us to be
impure, but for us to live aholy life.
Therefore, he who rejects thisinstruction does not reject God,

(34:57):
who gives you his Holy Spirit.
Galatians, chapter 5,.
It says so.
I say to you walk by the Spiritand you will not gratify,
fulfill or follow through tocompletion the desires and the
lust of the flesh, for the fleshdesires what is contrary and is

(35:30):
completely opposite to thespirit.
They are at war and in conflictwith each other.
Leonard Ravenhill said thisthere are three persons living
in each of us.
There's the one we think we are, there's the one other people
think we are and there's the oneGod knows we are, because he

(35:51):
sees all and he knows all.
But in order to understand thewar that takes place in your
life, for you not to be whoGod's called you to be, to keep
you pressed down in chains ofthe past, do you know why some
people do not experience freedom?
Because the scripture sayswhere the what of the Lord is,

(36:16):
where the what of the Lord is,where the what?
Where the spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.
Where the spirit of the Lord is, you are free.
But here's what happens.
This is that war, and it'sbecause of this I am a spirit, I

(36:40):
have a soul and I live in abody, in the garden with Adam
and Eve.
Prior to sin, the spirit and thesoul was not two separate
things.
When sin entered in a bale offlesh, separated the two.
With your spirit, that's yourinner man, it's the heart, it's

(37:04):
the part of us.
It's why we have to be bornagain, born again by spirit.
It's not of the flesh I readthat scripture early.
It's by the spirit.
I have a soul early.
It's by the spirit.
I have a soul.
That's my mind, that's my will,my emotions, the intellect, the

(37:34):
flesh that wants to operateindependently.
That's why Paul talks so muchabout us crucifying the flesh,
because there is a war Betweenthe spirit and the flesh and
both of them live in a body.
When our spirits are not incontrol and completely filled
with him, your flesh will winevery time when the spirit is in

(37:55):
control.
This is the access that producesthe supernatural to flow out of
your life wherever you are.
It's going to happen thismorning.
But it can happen today whenyou eat at the restaurant.
It can happen when you go towork tomorrow morning.

(38:17):
It can happen when you'rechecking out at Walmart.
It can happen while you'repumping gas.
If we are the living, breathingaccess of the kingdom of God
being brought to the earth, wehave got to be prepared for the
spirit of God to flow through usat any given time, because it's

(38:40):
not for you, it's not for youto feel puffed up, it's not for
you to go print business cardsto say I operate in the gift of
discernment.
That's not what it's for.
It's so that we can show who heis to a world that needs him.
Only the Holy Spirit can bringyou to the realization of the

(39:07):
things that need to change inyour life.
Stop right there and I amclosing.
Only have only have one morepage, will you hang with me?
It's not even 12.
Listen to me, only, holy Spirit, and I don't want to embarrass

(39:27):
anybody, but if I ask you thequestion in this room, do you
want more of Him or do you wantjust a little bit?

(39:51):
Do you want all of him, allthat that produces?
Jesus died and was raised fromthe dead.
When that happened.
The veil in the temple that hadseparated mankind from his
presence was torn in two, whichgave you and I an open access to
live and walk in the presenceof God, to be used by him to be

(40:15):
set ablaze and on fire.
But Holy Spirit is the one thatwill point his finger in the
things in your life Because, letme tell you something, he won't
dwell where you've given otherthings Lordship, he will not.
What we watch, what we read, what we hear, what we listen to,

(40:41):
where our feet allow us to go,holy Spirit is the one that will
lead you and guide you.
Be thankful for his convictingpower that turns you from
darkness into light.
The Holy Spirit is not just anillumination or inspiration.
He is a person who himselfknows the things of God and

(41:04):
reveals them to us.
Acts, chapter two.
Now, when the day of Pentecosthad fully come, they were all
with one accord, in one place.
Now, hear me.
Over 500 had been invited.
Only 120 went to the upper room.

(41:27):
They were all together, inunity, and suddenly there came a
sound from heaven, a roaring, mighty wind, and it filled the

(41:50):
house where they were sitting Inunity the Holy Spirit, and
begin to speak with othertongues as the Spirit gave them
utterance and there weredwelling in Jerusalem certain
Jews, devout men from everynation and every tongue, and
when this sound occurred, themultitude came together.

(42:10):
They were confused becauseeveryone heard them speaking in
his own language.
They were amazed and marveled, saying look, are not all of
these who speak Galileans?
We hear these people speakingin our own language about the
wonderful things of God.

(42:32):
How can this be?
Others laughed, ridiculed, madefun of them and mocked, saying
I think they're just all drunk.
Peter stood up, standing withthe 11.
He raised his voice and he saidlisten carefully, let this be
known to you and heed my wordsand make no mistake about this.

(42:55):
These are not drunk, as yousuppose, since it is only the
third hour of the day, which isnine o'clock in the morning.
This is what was spoken by theprophet Joel in the Old
Testament and it shall come topass.
In the last days says God thatI will pour out my spirit on all

(43:17):
flesh.
Your sons and your daughterswill prophesy, your young men
will see visions, your old menwill dream dreams, and on my
men's servants and on my maid'sservants I will pour out my
spirit in those days.

(43:39):
So they will prophesy.
Here's the altar call today.
It's three things.
If you have never received thebaptism in the Holy Spirit, if
you want boldness, if you wantto stand in the authority, if
you want the power and the mightand the Holy Spirit, if you
want boldness, if you want tostand in the authority, if you
want the power and the might andthe confidence to stand and

(44:03):
declare the message of thegospel of Jesus, this is for you
.
If you haven't prayed in yourprayer language, maybe ever.
If you're seeking God for that, don't seek tongues, seek, seek
him.
You're seeking him today.
And thirdly, if you needhealing this morning in the

(44:26):
supernatural, because it isliving and it is active today to
explain being filled with thespirit.
It's just a little bitsomething like this I was raised
in a house.
We're all the way back to mydad's mom.
She was a little intercessor, about 4'11 and full of the Holy

(44:49):
Ghost, full of the Holy Ghost.
Rusty and I, both similarly, our dads similarly have the same
story.
Both of their Methodistchurches got hit with a revival
where people were being filledwith the baptism in the Holy
Spirit, and both of you, in twodifferent decades, got kicked
out of the Methodist church andthe story.

(45:13):
I had to look back at mysisters who are here this
morning.
I wanted to make sure I'mtelling you the story right.
My sweet little mother didn'twant any.
She was raised Methodist.
A true Southern woman was notgoing to talk in tongues, was
not going to raise her hands.
Every hair was in place.
She looked the part.

(45:34):
But she was on the phone one dayironing on a Saturday morning
in the middle of the revival inFlorence, alabama, at Monumental
United Methodist Church.
She didn't want it herself, butshe wanted everybody else to
have it.
So she's talking to the lady onthe phone and she starts
talking to this lady about HolySpirit, about who he is, and she

(45:56):
started quoting Acts, chapter 2.
And in the middle of ironingand talking about him, she
couldn't talk in English anymore.
Holy Spirit, the very thingthat she said she did not want,
came on her.
Hear me To explain being filledwith the Holy Spirit.

(46:19):
It's a little something likethis here's all you do.
It's a gift.
It's a gift.
It's like I had a huge packageup here and I said to you
there's some car keys in thispackage up here, a brand new car
, but all you to do is come, pick up the box, open the lid

(46:44):
and take the keys.
I can't talk about God, thefather, seated on the throne of
honor and justice and authority, without worship and honor
coming out of my spirit.
I can't talk about the sonJesus without thanksgiving and

(47:04):
gratefulness flowing from mylips in worship because he
rescued me, he redeemed me.
I can't talk about Holy Spiritwithout realizing he has been
there all along, every singlemoment of my life, every moment

(47:31):
From creation to me being shapedand formed in my mother's womb,
carrying me Le, leading me toJesus, giving me life,
comforting me, correcting me,teaching me and giving me life

(47:51):
and breath.
I'm 60, and as I sprint into my90s and into my 100s in the
name of Jesus, I realize thatevery breath, every single
breath when I reach 90, thatwill be over 800 million times

(48:16):
my lungs have taken in oxygen hehas been right there, right
there for every moment of yourlife, leading you to Him right
now.
