The Heroes Red and Blue 5K Will Caviness Memorial Road Race on Sept. 29 in Greensboro will be held in memory of the late Greensboro Fire Department captain.
The event will honor firefighters, police officers and public safety heroes with proceeds going to the International Association Fire Fighters to support the International Burn Camp. Will Caviness was raising funds for the association's Burn Foundation at the 2011 Chicago Marathon when he collapsed near the end of the race and later died.
