Welcome into Episode #52 of The Up & Coming Drummer Podcast. This week, I am joined by an incredibly talented and hardworking Drummer and Educator. Ladies and Gents, Christian Dorn!
There's alot to be said about Christian Dorn. He is a professional touring/studio Drummer who also teaches drums. And he is a prime example of what we all strive to be. I mean unless you are only interested in being the next most famous drummer in the world, Christian is exactly what being a successful musician looks like. What's also equally as impressive is the fact that within minutes of talking for the first time, he was able to take the reigns and put on a great show for us knowing I was sick as a dog!! We could have easily talked for hours with all of the cool stories he has from throughout his career.
Christian, who hails from the Dallas/Fort Worth area has been playing since he was in grade school. We talk about the first bands he listened to that scratched his musical itch. Studying with many teachers over the years, we learn how he went from Jazz band to some of the coolest stages in the country. Christian and I chatted about the bands he's played in, the studio work he's done, and how he has made a living from playing and teaching drums. It was great to be able to sit back and hear his story. He practically answered my questions before I could ask them. This was great especially since my mind was cloudy from being sick and gross, Lol.
