From the year 1938 AD that's the blues shouting daddy of em all, Big Joe Turner with "Roll Em Pete." One of the first R&B recordings to make use of what was to become the rock and roll back beat - as opposed to the more common shuffle rhythm. This song was later recorded by Count Basie, and Joe recorded with the Basie band in later years. Joe Turner was the frist to record Shake, Rattle and Roll, which later became a hit for Bill Haley and His Comets.
