(00:16):
Hey everyone, welcome to The Withering Effect episode 189.
Today's date is July 2nd, 2025 and I am duds or duds versus
known to the rest of the interwebs.
And I'm Carl, you may know me asCarl Rides.
So what have you been up to recently?
Duds. I've been playing in multiple
worlds, working in Create, working on a blaze farm design
(00:40):
that necessarily in create, yet I'm still doing research on it.
But I did work on a secondary entrance to my base.
I think it looks very pretty. Yeah, working on a a blaze farm
design that I am calling the Blaze Blender.
How about that name? I think it's going to be kind of
fun. I'm also working a little bit in
my single player world. I went ahead and did the whole
(01:04):
chunk culling, basically just getting rid of any chunk that I
had been in less than 5 minutes and such, and it actually
changed a couple of biomes near me and I can't remember if I
have large biomes on or not. I need to figure out how I can
look at that setting because I went exploring and I found some
armadillos, but I also found outI am surrounded by Badlands.
(01:30):
Like on every side of me is a bad land.
And then I think there's large biomes on top of it, so they
just go forever. Like I have to go 3000 blocks
before I find a different Biome.Yeah, it's a good thing I've
made that rule. If I travel somewhere over land
and stuff, I get to use a command block to jump back and
(01:53):
forth. Yeah, if it's large Biome and I
have to go 3000 blocks out anyways, and it seems worth it
now. Yeah.
The main reason I started working on my single player
world again is I want to stream.I want to get back into
streaming and stuff. The one thing that's holding me
back is Carl and I talked about this this week is I don't know
if my graphics card can handle it anymore.
(02:13):
It's starting to show its age. It's a GTX1070, and it's very
that considering every componentin the computer is updated to,
well, not the newest, latest andgreatest.
It was the latest and greatest last year, except for the
graphics card, because graphic card prices are just through the
roof. And then I ended up buying my
(02:33):
Jeep, and I'd rather put more money into the Jeep than into my
computer. Yeah, crazy thing is, it started
to look like PC gaming was goingto edge out console gaming.
It's always been the superior gaming.
It's just affordability and easeof access.
And then all of a sudden prices for memory and stuff started to
go way down. And to be honest, it's still way
(02:55):
down. But people started getting into
that sphere. And then we had COVID happen,
prices for everything skyrocketed, and they've not
come back down since, at least for some things.
So I've been stuck with the graphics card I bought many
years ago, and I'm in desperate need of a new one.
(03:17):
So I think what I'm going to have to do is at some point soon
I'm going to need to stream justto see if it can.
And if it can't, I need to have an honest discussion about
updating it because I don't evenwant the newest one.
I think they're on the 50 seriesnow with NVIDIA.
I want a. 3070 they just announced the 5050 of them.
Yeah, I just want a 3070. I'm two generations behind.
(03:40):
That's all I want. That's the only upgrade.
I designed the computer for a 3070 or even A3060TI.
I'd probably take that too as long as it's got the I think 12
gig gig of memory and stuff on it.
I hear you'd rather have a lowerprocess with higher memory than
a higher process lower because Ithink the thirty 70s come with
(04:03):
eight gig whereas the 3060 TI comes with 12 and I don't know.
I know computers, but I don't know enough to know if that
matters for what I do. Yeah, I can't help you.
Yeah, Apple boy. I just buy whatever Apple's
selling. They go, here's a computer,
here's the price, live with it. They go.
OK, thanks. Yeah, although my graphics card
(04:24):
is probably newer than yours. Probably, and we were testing it
on the create world together andour frames are roughly the same.
It's when I look in a certain direction on create I get 40
frames per second. Where I was getting 70 in that
area. Yeah, and if I play on my single
player world though, I'd barely drop below 80.
(04:45):
Create is definitely. It's because of all the
movement, isn't it? And everything like that.
And our world, especially near your base.
It's not so bad in my base because it's only really me
that's in render distance. Yeah, but with you, because
you're so close to the communityarea, which has like the moving
escalators on the train station. It's got the mob farm, it's got
(05:08):
the iron farm, it's got the bee farm, it's got the cow farm.
The tree farm, yeah. Tree farm, gold farm, and soon
it will have a blaze farm there as well.
Yeah. So you're in the vicinity of all
the farms? Yeah, I'm doing it to myself
basically. But yeah, I I need to figure out
(05:28):
if this is feasible anymore because like, I don't want to
stop crate. We haven't even touched trains
yet. Yeah, we were just talking about
that the other night and workingout that we're going to need a
lot of brass. Yes, which is the thing I hurt
for the most. The same I have 3 ingots left.
Yeah, you're really hurting. I'm just at 2 stacks.
(05:52):
I made all of those brass bottles for my storage system,
which I'll get to it as. Well, let's just segue.
What have you been working on? So as I was saying, create 2 bit
of create there. I've been doing my storage room,
which is probably double the size of yours, and it still
(06:12):
doesn't have every item filteredbecause the filters are only 18
in Create. There's only 18 slots in each
filter. I can't even remember how many
barrels I've got, but it's a lot.
But with all the different Create items that have been
added in and Create Deco as well, that we have so many more
than the vanilla items now. And I almost forgot about the
(06:33):
never trees and had to rework mystorage system to fit those in.
So yeah, it's been a bit of a challenge, but it is up and
running. It's all automated with
mechanical arms and belts and things like that.
I'm really happy with my storageroom, which makes Duds happy
because he's sick of coming overto my base and seeing my
plethora of chess everywhere. Yes, last night I put in my
(06:56):
mechanical presses and mixes andinfinite water source and
crushing wheels and water and lava blowing machines, whatever
they're called. I set all that up.
So no more hand cranks either, Yeah?
Yeah. He wanted to make a brush sheet
the other day and he said where's your press?
So I built him a press with a hand crank.
(07:17):
It was a very depressing time. Well, he was.
He was embarrassed for me. I was more embarrassed for the
Redstone of your doors. Yes, we did my doors as well.
I am still at heart of vanilla boy and I decided to make my
sliding doors work in a vanilla way.
Using a drop of T flip flop and then duds is like this is
(07:41):
stupid. Yep you should just use a pulse
extender. And I'm like but they're really
complicated. It goes.
No, it's a single blocking. I don't think I said it is
stupid. I said, you know there's a
better, easier way to do this. It was implied that it was
stupid, yes, which I agree. So we've done that.
My sliding doors into my storageroom and into my bedroom stroke
(08:02):
control room that still needs working on is done.
Half of my train station is finished.
I really need to get on and finish the rest of that.
The back of my base is now finished using the Canon, which
if you watched Duds's episode, his last great episode, you
would have seen that being builtby the Canon at the end of his
episode, which was really cool because I was not doing that
(08:23):
gradient by hand again. Yes, it was awful the first time
and I hated every second of it, so I wasn't doing it again.
So I'm glad we're in Create and we can get a schematic to do it.
For me, that's about it. Got a lot done recently in the
last couple of weeks. Nice.
Should we talk about the latest update before we talk about the
other bit of news we had? Sure.
(08:51):
Copper golems are making their way into the update.
I've got good and bad feelings about this.
Let's start with the good Coppergolems are just cute.
Yeah, they look really good. They really are.
They changed the functionality so now they're just not running
around clicking buttons, which Ithought is the reason they lost
because that is just about stupid.
Yeah, you don't want. That now they can sort items,
(09:13):
they'll take items out of a copper chest.
We now get copper chest and theywill look for an item in the
chest that matches the item they're holding and then try to
put that item in that chest. So very, very cool.
We are also getting copper armorin tools.
It is more durability than stone, but less durability than
(09:34):
iron. Can't remember if it's more or
less than gold. I would like to assume it's more
than gold because gold is awful.Well.
It goes so quickly, it's an efficient tool, but the lifespan
of it is just appalling. Yeah, they they try to offset it
with gold tools move faster, so there's that and the the armor
(09:58):
gets enchanted better. I mean I only use gold armor
because if I don't the piglins will attack me.
Yes, that's the only thing I find useful.
That's the update in Gist. My complaints with the update
are kind of very superficial copper like can we can we move
on from copper? It feels like we've been doing
copper for forever and I get functionality it makes it's the
(10:21):
new or we're adding things to itand stuff, but it's like you
kind of added a different or to do the same stuff, you know,
brass. Yeah, they're not going to take
anything from create. Right.
I'm just kind of tired of copper, even though I get it.
Yeah, I feel like they should have done like one big copper
update and just done it all at once rather than spreading it
(10:42):
out over several drops. That's where I'm getting at.
It kind of feels like everythingwasn't thought out at one time.
Yeah, I can see that because I'll do a build and it's like,
oh, and I'll come back later andbe like, oh, I can adjust this
and then I can do this and then move on and I'll come back a
month later, be like, oh, yeah, but this.
And then, so I understand it. The complaint is a complaint but
it's not a real strong complaintother than some people are going
(11:05):
to use the copper tools and armor.
Majority of players will just skip over it like they do
anyways because irons really easy to get now and all that
stuff so. Yeah, I'm just going to continue
to use iron early again. Right, because it's better.
Yeah, that's just said. Everyone's going to do that.
That's the progression tree. I kind of wish they would change
(11:27):
the progression tree to be something less superficial, as
in it enchants better or whatever, because it's not
useful. There's a reason most people go
straight to Diamond and some go even further to Netherite.
Right now it's kind of on the border with Netherite just
because you added that extra template to upgrade that to the
(11:48):
point where I know a lot of people just don't even bother
going to another right because it's not worth it.
I don't. Yeah.
It's so easy to trade for diamond tools and armor with
villagers, and if you set up a trading hall, you can get all
your enchantments on there. That losing your stuff in lava,
it's not worth it. Plus at the same time, now you
got to find a way to get on top of the lava to get your stuff.
Yeah, losing all your stuff is an annoyance, especially like if
(12:12):
you've got your enchants like dialed in beautifully, but it
doesn't take that long to get geared up again once you're in
the late game. If you get to the late game, I
get a lot of players don't ever get to the late game, so that's
why they like stuff like that. But then again, if you've got
another right armor, I would consider you late game.
Yeah. That being said, I like that
(12:32):
they they took a a chance with adding special abilities to
another right. And if they would do that with
diamond armor and then copper armor and iron armor and stone
armor, if they would add a little bit of specialty for the
armors, it'd be less of a complaint.
I also feel that most of the armor looks identical, they just
change the color, which is a little boring.
(12:52):
It'd be cool to change it, but like on the helmets you can see
a little bit of change. The nose piece is different for
most of the armor sets and there's little things around the
boots and shoulders that they change.
But that's essentially it. I'd like more.
I think they're relying too muchon trims, which that's a whole
another thing. If I if I do full gold trim on
(13:13):
my armor I shouldn't be attackedby?
Just saying, yeah, definitely, definitely.
I think we've always been under kind of the we'd rather see our
skins than the armor. If anything, the armor like
covers up the work you've done on your skin.
That's true too, I love my skins.
Yeah, though it doesn't really matter what armor you're
wearing, it's still taking away from from your awesome skins.
(13:36):
So, but I guess most players kind of, we've got to kind of
think that most players would probably stick with the
defaults. As much as we kind of Nick and
Pig and most players are bedrockplayers and there's not a lot of
skin customization for. I mean, there is a lot of skin
customization, but it's not pixel customization like that.
It's hey, here's an arm or here's an entire new skin and
(14:00):
here's maybe a foot and stuff like that, which is cool.
I, I had a lot of fun playing around with the the editor on
Bedrock. Yeah.
But yeah, I'd like to see some changes like that.
The copper armor and tools is understandable.
It's not something I'd look forward to by any means.
The copper golems is something Ido look forward to, but with a
(14:21):
worry. It definitely seems like the
copper golems were the thing we wanted to win that mob vote.
Yeah, we've always said that they've always had one that they
wanted to win in all of those mob votes.
Yeah. We haven't usually given them
the one that they wanted. Yes, and here's the thing, you
remember when they said once themob votes done, you will never
(14:42):
see these mobs again. And here we are seeing and
granted the copper golems, the first one, and it may be the
only one, but I'm kind of thinking it's not going to be.
I think they're going to start bringing other moms back.
Brad to Rock is asking in our live chat which is one of our
Patreon perks. Is late game before or after the
(15:03):
dragon fight? Because the never right armor
gives not back which is super useful for the dragon fight.
I don't think the dragon fight goes.
It can be a reference point for being late game, because if you
have an Elitra and chokers, you're late game, Yeah, but if
you have full netherite gear, you have a full enchanting set
(15:23):
up, you have a full villager trading hall, you have all these
farms and the one thing you haven't done is been to the end.
You're in the late game anyways.Yeah, I see sort of elitra as
that sort of very final thing. Definitive.
Yeah, like late game is not final game.
Yeah, for want of a better word, you know, So it's sort of late
(15:45):
game is sort of like, as you say, the kind of never I full
enchanting setup, full villagersset up.
Basically you've done all the big farms, you've got your
economy in place, you've got your, if you think of something
you can go to a farm and get it.That's what I see late game as.
Yeah, I always use the referenceof if I die and lose everything,
(16:07):
how quick can I be back to going?
Yeah, that's my definitive late game marker.
You can even go never go to the nether and still be considered
late game because your version of late game is different than
somebody elses version of late game.
If you just walk around and leather armor and that's your go
to leather or you go to armor because it makes it more
(16:28):
challenging for you, then you'rein late game early.
Like with everything in Minecraft, it's subjective.
Yes, like Fried the Rock is saying.
For me the dragon fight is late game because it unlocks the
Elijah which unlocks the mobility.
That's perfectly valid as a definition of late game.
Yes. Minecraft is a sandbox, so your
version of late game can be different to our version of late
(16:50):
game. Let's go back to Copper Golems.
We got, we got a sidetrack on there because I I really like
copper golems, but I am worried because essentially this was
supposed to be the same functionality that allays had
except tweaked a little bit. Yeah, I was thinking that isn't
this just an allay that doesn't fly?
Well I mean allays have to pick something up off the ground and
(17:11):
they don't deliver it into a chest, they deliver it near
something or straight to you. So there are differences, but it
kind of feels like, hey, we perfected the LA with the golem.
Yeah. That being said, delay AI is so
dumb. Yeah.
Nobody really uses them other than to lock them in a single
spot to grab things. Yeah, off water streams or
(17:35):
whatever. Yeah, or to hit them with
potions to turn them into XP farms.
That worries me for the copper golems because I really like the
idea that these copper golems have, but I'm afraid their AI is
going to be too dumb to be useful because that's what we've
been seeing out of Minecraft AI.Yeah, it does kind of concern me
that like you say, we have seen Mojang's AI is is not the best
(17:59):
at times. I guess you could have an Allay
pick the items up. Would the Allay be able to put
them in a copper chest? No, it'd have to drop it into a
hopper. That goes into a copper chest
and then the column takes it from the copper chest into your
storage system. Yeah, yeah.
So you've got two things runningaround doing that, which is
(18:20):
going to, which is more computing for the game to do,
which is going to cause lag, Yeah.
In theory it's. Very cool in theory.
It's actually cool and we haven't played with it yet.
Correct. We can't really say either way.
I've come to the point where I don't try the updates until I
just update. There was, there was a time
(18:42):
where, yeah, I, I try a snapshotand it, it got harder and harder
to force myself to do something like that.
I I'd rather just play with themas they come out.
That being said, I've still yet to do a trial chamber.
That's just something that's never really inner interested
me. Yeah, the trial chambers are
cool, but yeah, I'm not the kindof player that like, finds that
(19:04):
intriguing as a concept. Yeah, that being said, if we're
getting copper chests, why don'twe have different wood type
chests? That is still crazy to me.
I've I feel like I brought this up on this show years ago.
You have it. It's one of the big new block
customization things. To me, that would be massively
(19:25):
revolutionary and still such a simple thing to do.
If you're already adding one newchest, why not go ahead and do
all the different wood types? Yeah?
That being said, you're gonna see a lot of bamboo chests
because of the way bamboo is being processed.
Now it's trash wood which just gets converted into chests.
Yeah, but I feel like you would early game and again, definition
(19:48):
of early game, you would early game because it's an easy word
to get, but I feel like once youstart designing rooms with
storage in them, you will be more inclined to get a chest
colour that matches your decor rather than using bamboo.
Yes. Correct.
(20:08):
You know, if you've got a dirt Hut, bamboo chest doesn't really
affect it. It's it's ambience.
But once you've got a nice storage room, you're going to
want some nice colored chests togo with it.
And I feel like just make everything wood available in all
the colors. It just makes sense.
Is that the last of the the copper update?
(20:30):
We might have missed something if we did.
Let us know. We interrupt your usual podcast
listening for this breaking news.
We go to Duds, who's live on thescene.
Duds, what have you got for us tonight?
I didn't know I was supposed to be live on the scene.
(20:51):
I'm at home in my office. Have you got any shelves on the
wall? Actually, I do, and they're real
shelves. They're not special item frames.
But yeah, let's talk about Minecraft shelves because they
are something everyone who is a builder has wanted.
Everyone puts shelves in their homes anyways using trapdoors or
(21:12):
something like that, but now we actually have shelves.
I would not call them shelves. No.
But I don't want to hate on themtoo much because I do like them
and they have a great functionality to where you can
hold up to three stacks of an item, which that's not the great
functionality part, but you can hot swap your hot bar.
That is very, very cool. I don't know how well it's going
(21:34):
to work, so I tried an inventorymod about a year ago where I
could swap my hot bar with the other bars in my inventory and
it got too convoluted. So I don't know how well this
will work, but the fact that Moeing's trying something to
help with the inventory, I thinkit's a great idea.
Yeah, it's similar to how in creative mode you can have like
(21:57):
those save toolbars. Yes, it's like a, it's like a
survival version of that, which I think is pretty cool.
Yeah, but I agree that they are not shelves as such.
Right, and they're good looking blocks you can use them
decoratively for. I've seen some people using them
as trim pieces for walls. Yes.
(22:17):
And stuff like that. And they look really good, but
they're not shelves. No, I, I think I said when they
first came out, I was like, that's not a shelf.
Yeah, a shelf would be flat and the item would float on top.
And let's go with you can have it in every wood type.
That's good. So no wood types being
forgotten. I wish they would do that with
chest. Now do it with chest please.
We we talked about that earlier in the episode.
(22:41):
Yeah, the recipe is 6 logs, right?
Is it logs or planks? It's stripped logs, yeah.
Stripped logs, right, Which I think's a little off.
I would put the stripped log variant with leather in the
middle. Yeah, because essentially this
is an item frame. Yeah, it's three item frames
kind of glued together, isn't it?
(23:02):
It would make sense to. I know I'm making it harder to
craft them and people might be like shut up, but it makes sense
in my head that way. But then again, I'm not looking
at this as a shelf. I'm looking this.
This is a fancy item frame, which is fine.
It can be a fancy item frame. It's a cool block and I'm
excited to use it, definitely, but it's not a show.
(23:22):
Yeah, I will continue to make myshelves out of trapdoors.
Yeah, it's a nice looking block. It's it's sort of the closest we
get to sort of vertical slabs ina way.
Yes, it is. That's a great point.
Which is nice to see that Mojang's yeah, embracing that.
I think it's done this way because you would have to to
(23:43):
render it in the way we think ofshelves.
We'd have to now render items in3D that is not always rendered
in 3D, so it makes it harder. I forget that I've got the
vanilla tweets 3D models on all the time.
For everything and it doesn't hold one item, it holds stacks
of items. True, there is that too.
(24:03):
Honestly, if Moyang would just change the name to something
different, I don't see a problembecause my only gripe is the
name. Yeah, like, yeah, I can nitpick
on the crafting recipe, but I'm not going to complain about
that. It's really just the name.
I think this is a cool tool and I will be using the heck out of
it. Yeah, kind of shelf though.
Even just as like you say, just as trim pieces for walls, they
(24:24):
are going to look excellent, absolutely excellent.
Yeah, I'll try it. For the hot bar swap kind of
thing. I we should put it out.
If you want to do the full hot bar, you have to put multiple
shelves together and you have topower them with Redstone to have
that functionality. And they have to be the same
wood type as well. You can't mix and match the wood
type. Right, without the Redstone
(24:46):
power they are just item frames and you can pull in and pull.
Out. I think it's going to work
pretty well actually. I think there's some uses for
it, especially when you're like flipping between color palettes
and builds, I think could actually be quite useful.
Yes, I'm cautiously optimistic about it.
Yeah, the I would say one of theother complaints I have is like
(25:06):
it always switches the stuff in your hot bar at the right.
Yeah. Now I'm a person that has tools
and stuff on the left and then Ihave food and stuff on the right
and my palettes are in the middle.
Same. That will make it almost
unusable for me unless I switch up how I play the game.
(25:27):
There is that that I'm kind of cautious about.
Yeah. I wish there was a way we could
change if you had three next to each other, so you would make a
full hot bar, but you would leave the outsides blank.
It would only switch the stuff that has things in it.
You know what? I was thinking the exact same
thing yeah that you could like click in the corner that's got
(25:49):
like no item in it and it just swapped your entire hot bar
except for the ones that are blank.
That makes sense. And that might be some feedback
that they can take on board before this goes into the game
yes, because this is on a just asnapshot of the moment along
with copper golems yeah hopefully they can take that
advice on on board because that's the probably the biggest
(26:11):
issue with it yes. If they can add allow us to
leave spaces and for that not tochange that particular the part
of the hot bar, it would be perfect I think.
It would become super useful. Definitely.
It's already useful, but super useful.
We're now going to return you toyour normal podcast programming.
OK, bye. One of the big things we're
(26:31):
going to talk about, I said big things.
It's really just another segmentof the news and then we'll move
on. Is Hightail is officially done?
Not in a playable way. Yeah, I'm going to find out our
Hightail episodes. Yeah.
We did two of them. Episode 10.
(26:52):
Oh wow. Was all things hightail.
Episode 30 was don't poop in my hightail base, which I assume
we, you and bank talked about hightail in that episode as well
so you know. Fragile Rocks mentioning that we
should define High Tail because there is the server that people
(27:13):
might get confused with. High Tail is supposed to be a
new game that the developers from the High pixel server
branched off and we're creating on their own.
The game got bought by Riot. They decided to switch engines
from Java to CC Plus plus. I'm not sure which one.
Yeah, because they wanted it to run on more.
(27:34):
They wanted it to run on all theconsoles, and yeah, they wanted
it everywhere. Basically change game engines.
That was a lot of work and they've decided to pull the
plug. One of the original people who
were involved, Simon, is trying to negotiate with Riots to get
the game back so he can release what they had in the Java
(27:58):
version as sort of like a a beta.
Yeah, from what he said, the Java version that they had was
two years away from being releasable.
It was relatively close and thathe is trying to purchase it
back. That being said, I give it a
less than 1% chance and even Simons been very big and saying
it is a long, long shot. Yeah that this would actually
(28:21):
work. That being said, there is a lot
of love for this game and there's a lot of people pushing
the save hightail, which I like because I liked high tails going
what what it was going with and stuff.
I know some of the devs have left like Simon left and some of
them have branched off and made vintage story, which a lot of
people like. I looked at vintage story.
(28:42):
To me that's just too, too much for me as casual of a gamer as
I've become. Maybe in my younger days I would
I would probably really be into vintage story, but I've
discovered like I'm into the themore casual gameplay now.
Yeah, what I will say is for anyone who hasn't seen much on
Hightail, I will leave the original trailer in the show
(29:05):
notes. Go and watch it for us to
describe what Hightails like won't do it justice.
Yeah, go watch that video, because when we watched it, we
were like, wow, this looks amazing.
Yeah. And it wasn't just High Tail as
a game we wanted to play. It was the competition that
Minecraft needs. Yes, it will book their ideas
(29:28):
of. Yeah, we felt for the last
couple years that Moyang is getting really stagnant.
And that's one of my thoughts about we're not going to see the
the end of bringing back not voted in Minecraft mobs.
I think they're getting complacent and stuff and they
have these assets already halfway thought through.
They're bringing them in. I need to see a larger update
(29:50):
from MO Yang to get some confidence back from them.
We're supposed to get smaller updates in between larger
updates. And I get the smaller updates
are being worked on by very small crews.
So the rest of the people have to actually be working on these
larger updates. But I need to see something of a
larger update at some point to get some confidence back because
these last couple updates, whilesome some of the features are
(30:11):
cool, Yeah, they need competition.
Apparently according to Wikipedia.
So take this number with a pinchof salt.
Yeah, 2021 Mojang had 600 employees, right?
What do they do? All day.
Well I mean all of those aren't going to be devs.
No, but. And working on the game.
Proportion of them will be, you know, they've probably got a big
(30:33):
marketing team I would imagine. Yes.
The other people go we need plushies.
As someone who bought 4 of the Minecraft movie plushies, I
can't really talk. Yeah, that's what you get.
I'm succumbed to their market. Yeah, Hightails kind of shut the
doors. Very disappointing.
It's kind of sad. Yeah, not just for the fact that
(30:54):
that's a game that we won't get to play again.
It's it was direct competition for Minecraft and mowing and
competition usually is a good thing.
It it allows ideas to be bouncedback and forth, allows extended
creativity. That's one of the reasons you'll
see if you go to the movies a lot, you'll see one movie come
(31:14):
out and then another movie with almost the same premise come out
from a different studio. Yeah.
Carl knows this too well. I think we're good with the
news. Let's move on, all.
Right before we continue with today's show, here is Jim Boge
with a reminder of how you can get a discount on your own
Minecraft server from Bisect Hosting.
(31:37):

(32:01):
All right, thank you for that, Jimbo.
Now we go on to Mending Minecraft.
The rest of this episode is kindof a big Mending Minecraft
episode. The votes from last episode, we
had you guys vote on which item you wanted to mend, whether it's
the Mace smithing template or the spyglass.
And the spyglass was an overwhelming winner, which kind
(32:24):
of surprised me. I I thought the Mace was going
to be the one which is, which isgood because I actually wanted
the spyglass to win because I had this idea for a while now.
Yeah, all, all, many platforms went for Spyglass.
Yeah, Spotify, YouTube understood all went for
Spyglass. So it's a unanimous winner.
You should be able to enchant the spyglass.
Obviously the enchantment will only be a couple different
(32:48):
kinds, one for extended zoom, soyou'll be able to zoom in the
zoom again. And I don't think that's going
to be that good of an enchantment because of the
limitations of the game. Bedrock players would probably
love it because they can see fora good distance, but Java
players probably not so much. And then another enchantment
will be like a, I'm calling it the Eye of the Beholder
(33:10):
enchantment. This is what I really wanted.
So you would enchant it. And if you would hold certain
blocks, so you enchant the spyglass, you get the Eye of the
Beholder. You look through the spyglass
holding an amethyst Shard or a block or something like that.
It would light up where a geode's located near you.
So if you're near a geode and you look at the ground, it would
kind of outline where there's a geode to make those a little bit
(33:34):
easier to find. Same thing with skulk.
If you found skulk, you didn't find an ancient city.
You would look through the spyglass holding the sculpt and
ancient city. If you did a gilded Blackstone,
so you went to a bastion, but you didn't get the the netherite
template upgrade, so you're looking for another bastion,
hold gilded Blackstone, look around and there's another
(33:57):
bastion in the distance. It's an easier way to find
locations. I know there rumors of maybe
doing that with maps and stuff. Maps are still confusing to me
in Minecraft and I think this isa cooler, more interactive way
of doing it. For sure for sure I just use
locate structure but. Yeah, we all play differently.
(34:18):
Fragile Rock mentioned enchant with the Eye of Ender to find an
in city. Maybe At first I thought about
the Eye of Ender to find strongholds, but then I went,
well, the Eye of Ender already does that when you throw it, so
yeah, it didn't make any sense. But using it to find an ancient
city could be really nice considering how much of a pain
it is to find an ancient city tofind in cities in the end.
(34:41):
Yeah, I like it. I like if we had to have an in
game version to do flash locate that, I'd use that over that.
Yeah. I like the idea of like having
the amethyst cluster as like sort of a way to light the
spyglass like a torch so you cansee into the distance like lit
up at night. Yeah, I think that's kind of a
cool idea. Some kind of torch add on for
(35:02):
the spyglass would be really cool.
Yeah, night vision. Night vision, yeah, the cluster
is sort of like angles and stuff.
So maybe that could focus the light in a certain area that you
know, that the ambient light from the world, and then that
makes it into kind of like a torch.
But yeah, I do like that idea ofusing those different blocks to
(35:23):
find the corresponding structure.
Yeah, I've always loved the spyglass.
It's not a very useful item, butit's a very cool item.
It is. It is.
I think I spent a season on channel 64 just carrying one
around for the heck of it. I always tend to make an armor
stand. Have the 3D model of a spyglass
sitting around somewhere. Yeah, I think we're kind of
(35:45):
blessed on Java that we have Logical Zoom and Optifine have
that sort of bit baked into them.
So I think on Java will kind of spoil in that respect.
The spyglass kind of came after that, but that's always going to
happen. Like mods are always going to be
ahead of Mojang because they only have to think about
themselves, not the whole game. Yeah, there's a lot of little
things. This is why we did mining
(36:06):
Minecraft. Not so much that we wanted to
fix the game, but there's so many little things in the game
that maybe haven't gotten their full potential yet.
And I say yet because we don't know.
I mean, yeah, Bo Yang is obviously shown that they're
willing to go back and work on things.
So definitely, definitely. Should we get to next episodes?
Vote. Yes.
So the next vote will be on biomes.
(36:29):
So we have for you the deep darkCrimson forest and jagged peaks.
You'll be able to vote across Spotify, YouTube and Discord,
and we will Add all those votes together and we'll mend that on
the next episode of the podcast.I'm I'm excited for this vote.
There there is one I am hoping to win because I want to add an
(36:52):
item because of this one. You're as bad as Mojack.
Yep, I want this to win. I'm not saying which one I want
to win, and I'm not saying how it is.
And at least I can admit I want one of them to win.
That's true. That's true.
Yeah, let's get into listener comments.
(37:17):
We have a comment from episode 185 and it's from Jude.
They're talking about literally my dream podcast.
Well thank you. And am I the only one who wants
better drops from the Ender dragon?
And thank you Mappy for the idea.
But what if it dropped a wing ora Fang you can use to inflict
poisoning or dragon poisoning? And the wing helps the Elijah
(37:40):
fly farther or lighter or fall slower if you attach to armor.
This is a cool idea because it'sit's adding.
How do I say it? I mean, we do it and create all
the time where you take a component and then add another
item to that component to turn it into another component.
And it's what vanilla Minecraft is missing.
Create has so many steps to get to what you want, yes.
(38:02):
So you make, for example, Andersite alloy into shafts,
shafts and planks into cogs, cogs and Andersite casings into
a gearbox. Create has that sort of step
process where you make one item into another item into another
item to get to the top tier. And I think that kind of
ecosystem is what I really love about right is it's so varied,
(38:26):
which makes my storage system difficult to filter.
But there's a lot of cool stuff in there to play with, and I
think Mojang should get more into that.
There's a few items in Minecraftthat do a similar thing, but not
to that kind of scale that Create does.
Correct. I really like the idea of the
drag and dropping part of its wing in the fact.
So let's say you fight the dragon, the egg spawns and you
(38:49):
get part of a dragon wing. Now let's say you'd respond to
dragon again and defeat it. Now you've got two parts of the
dragon wing. What if you could craft that
into an Elijah version? So you don't even have to go to
the end cities, you can just do it all there.
Well, that's just it. Or you can beat the dragon one
time and then go out finding an in city and all that stuff and
get Elijah that way. Or if you're willing to do the
(39:11):
fight again, now you have two pieces of the wings.
You can make an Elijah or a dragon Elitra and now you can go
see you can go fly to ancient cities and 3rd ancient cities.
I keep calling them ancient cities in cities.
And if you're using an upgraded spyglass you can find them
easier. It's just it's a choice.
You can do it the normal way no problem.
(39:33):
Or you can double down and do itagain like fragile rock saying
it makes the fight worth it. Let's say you take that one part
of dragon wing and you attach itto an arrow.
Now that arrow, when you fire itwill follow your cursor until it
hits something. So now you can control the
direction of the arrow. Would that be super useful?
(39:54):
I mean it'd be cool the fact that arrows aren't one shot 1
kill for the majority of the time unless you're maneuvering
with Minecraft physics. Especially if I'm firing them.
Right, so it's an idea part of adragon wing.
I wouldn't say a full dragon wing because that's bigger than
big. Yeah, but if it drops part of a
(40:15):
dragon wing, like there's so much you can do with that.
Like dude saying attach it to armor, maybe it gives you slow
falling so you know you don't have to have a potion.
Maybe if you attach dragon wingsto your boots, it gives you the
ability to walk over the edge ofan item and it gives you 5
seconds before you fall. Legend of Zelda had some boots
(40:35):
that did this. I can't remember their name but
it would use magic and hover boots.
That's duh. And you could walk off the ledge
of platforms and you wouldn't fall until a certain time.
That's cool. That would be extremely useful
in the end. Imagine if you're bridging and
you let go of shift for a secondand most of the time that means
(40:57):
especially if you're on the edge, it means death.
But with those, you've got a couple of seconds to get
yourself back on shift, right? Yeah, because I was having this
issue. I was building that tunnel to
the blaze spawner that we need and create over lava in the
never. I'm like if my pink goes really
bad right now, which it has beendoing, or I just let go of shift
(41:18):
like because my fingers crampingor whatever, like I'm gone.
So having that kind of insurancepolicy quote, UN quote would be
be kind of nice. And the best part is it gives
you, turning it into Elijah gives you a different kind of
wing, which I think is awesome because now you're not all
looking exactly. You remember back when Diamond
was the thing you'd say you all look like blueberries.
(41:38):
All Smurfs, yeah. Or Smurfs because everyone
looked identical. We need some of that
customization in Minecraft, so something like that would be
nice. Gives you options.
It can help a beginning player or an adventurer.
It can help an in game player. It covers a wide span of stuff.
I think this has been a really inspirational listener comment.
(42:00):
Definitely keep them coming as well, guys.
Leave us comments on Spotify, YouTube and all that.
Leave us these comments because they really get us thinking and
great to share that with the audience as well.
Yeah, I didn't mention a Fang causing poisoning because we
have lingering potions already with Dragon's Breath.
I think that kind of works around the same.
(42:20):
It's not identical, but it's kind kind of the same.
So I really want to focus in on the dragon wings and I think
that's that's such a cool idea. It really is.
Yeah. I'm going to keep banging on
about this. The end needs an update.
Yeah, with all these things in it and all the things we've
talked about in the past on on afew episodes about the end.
(42:42):
Not massive update, but it needsa few things.
Well, I really do think if we get big updates again, we're
either going to see a combat update as the next update or
we're going to see an end update.
I hope so. Okay, so we get in the main
topic. Yeah, let's get into that main
topic, which is a little bit more of mending Minecraft, but
not. Exactly.
(43:02):
But not exactly. I was scrolling through YouTube
and I found a video from the coma.
I'm sorry if I'm pronouncing thewrong.
If they end up hearing this episode let me know.
I will fix it or correct it on the episode.
And their episode was called I fix Travel in Minecraft.
So obviously that got me interested because we're mending
(43:24):
Minecraft all the time anyways, so let's watch it down.
They start the episode with breaking down what the problem
is. And I think we can all agree the
second a player gets their handson an Electra, all the other
modes of travel are less than. Yeah, I'm kind of enjoying the
lake we have on lecture crate together because we boat across
that all the time. I'm kind of enjoying it to be
(43:46):
honest. I hate it.
I'm ready for some Electra wings.
Really. Yeah.
And I'm kind of, I'm kind of enjoying it.
It annoys me so much. My base was designed for easy in
and out using an Electra and that's why I designed it.
And I don't even have an Electra.
Like I have single wide doors for the most part because it's
(44:07):
like, well, I'm not going to go in and out of this door.
I'm just going to fly in throughthe giant hole.
And then we haven't had Electra for the longest time to the
point where I, when I redid my side entrance, I designed it
with double doors so I didn't have to worry about running into
the side anymore. But yeah, that's the main
problem. When a player gets an Electra,
that's kind of it. They put the horses to the side,
(44:27):
they put the minecarts to the side, they put the boats to the
side. Electra is the main source of
travel unless you're choosing not to.
It just a blatant fact the Electra is the best mode of
transportation in the game when you get it.
Yeah, because that was added back in 1.9.
The boats were added in alpha, minecarts were added in in dev,
(44:47):
and the horse armor was added inone point 6.1.
So, you know, it's been a while that these things have just been
added and not really. There's been a few updates along
the way to them, but nothing extraordinary that kind of once
Electra came in, it was sort of,well, that's the best thing now,
so go with that. They start with horses, so we're
(45:08):
going to start with horses, and they mentioned enchanted armor
first. Why can't we upgrade diamond
armor to netherite armor, which isn't kind of an obvious thing
like, hey, if we're going to make copper armor, let's go
ahead and fix the other kinds ofarmor too.
Let us upgrade our horse armor to netherite.
And add enchantments as well to the horse armor.
Especially protection. We do all that work to get the
(45:29):
perfect horse, especially some people breeding horses to get
the best horse there is, and nowyou can't fully protect that
horse. Come on, let it.
Let us do that at least. But the big thing, the thing I
like the most, was horseshoes. Yeah.
You can add horseshoes to the game and then you would have
iron horseshoes, gold horseshoes, diamond horseshoes.
(45:51):
I didn't see any netherite horseshoes, but I think it was
implied those can be enchanted at the same time.
Yeah, you could put Deb Strider on there.
Adding things like Frost Walker. You could put Frost Walker on
there so now the horse can run across water.
Imagine taking it off our main island and taking a horse all
the way over to our mining desert, which is basically all
(46:12):
ocean all the way. Yeah, you could just glide over
that in your horse. It'd be amazing.
Yeah, one of the ideas I loved is it gave the horse an
offensive ability and it gave ittrample, which means if you were
running through a crowd of mobs,it would cause not back to the
mobs and cause a bit of damage, which I think is great.
It now means you don't have to rely on shooting arrows off your
(46:37):
horse, which sometimes ends up meaning you shot your horse in
the back of the head. Yeah.
Same with swinging in a sword oran axe or whatever.
You can use the horse as the weapon and it's not overpowered
because it's essentially knockedback with a little bit of
damage. It's mainly a way to I need to
get out of the danger, which is what the Elitra is the best at.
(46:57):
Getting out of danger is what the Elitra is perfected and now
this gives the horse that same ability is I can get on a horse
and ride it through mobs and it gets me out of danger.
And it was also in there that itcan clip through leaves as well.
Yep. If you're in a a crowded dark
oak forest for example, there's bobs all around.
You can just belt it all the waythrough going through all the
(47:20):
leaves, knocking the mob side toside.
Really really cool idea. Yeah, the next thing they they
added was the goat horn would allow you to summon your horse
so you don't have to worry aboutlosing it.
This is where they lost me. Same.
The Legend of Zelda has that same feature.
If you play Ocarina of Time you can play a song and it would
(47:43):
teleport your horse to you. In Breath of the Wild you got
ancient horse armor and it wouldallow the horse to teleport to
you and it works in that game. I don't see it working in
Minecraft. It's a bit too magic Minecraft,
yeah, in my opinion. Which is weird to say because
there's a lot of magic in Minecraft.
(48:03):
Hannah, it just feels a bit overthat line.
And if somebody wants to say, well, you guys are wrong, it's
like I could, I can agree with you on this one.
Yeah, it's a personal preferencing.
The next thing was adding wings to the horse.
So if you get a pair of Elijah wings and you add it to the
horse armor, you now essentiallyget a Pegasus horse, which
allows you to jump up in the airand do short gliding distances.
(48:27):
Which when I first saw it, I went, Oh yeah, that's a, that's
a cool idea. But the more I thought about it,
I, I, I wasn't a fan of it. I could see certain players
really loving it. But yeah, to me, it's not enough
to be, it's not enough for somebody to give up a pair of
wings. Yeah, it's one of those, well,
do I have, do I have a bunch of extra sets of wings I can give
(48:47):
my horse? There's other ways that you
could find your horse, like the new hot bar that gives you like
player locations on it maybe if your horse showed up on that
maybe. That's part of your enchantment.
Yeah, so you could do like a location enchantment.
So it's like a little tracker onyour horse and it shows up on
that bar along with, you know, people on your multiplayer
server. That's more of a feature that
(49:10):
feels, I hate this phrase, but mine crafty.
Yeah. I feel like the whole goat horn
thing is straying too far away from that and more into the
magical kind of realm. And again, like you say, if you
think I'm wrong, then yes, you know, it's, yeah, it's, it's
sort of, it's those limits thingagain, isn't it?
(49:32):
It's like some people would think me doing slash locate is
bad and some people go that's perfectly fine.
Yeah, it's all personal preference.
I don't do the slash locate, butI have no problem with Carl
doing it. That's just the way he likes to
play the game. And this is the way I like to
play the game. Like I know a lot of creators
use Lightmatica. I'm just personally not a fan of
Lightmatica. That's just how I play the game.
(49:53):
Yeah, Boats. Boats was the one I got the most
excited for. Yeah boats.
Boats were a real cool one. Yes, the soul sand launching
boats thing. And again, if you guys haven't
seen this video it will be in the show notes.
Watch along as we're talking about this.
But the soulsand launching boatsthing seems a little bit meh.
See, I actually like that. I thought it was an obvious
(50:16):
thing to do. It's an obvious thing, I don't
know how useful it is. It's got a lot of setup because
he was talking about how blue ice paths have a lot of setup
and that was bad. And then if you wanted this
soulsand hover thing to go a long distance, you would have to
build a soulsand lane, which seems like the same issue to me.
I see it more. Well, it's it's launching
(50:37):
vertically, so it would allow you to jump up onto higher
surfaces. And I see it more of our horses
wear nether eyed armor. So this is just a correcting of
something that should have been kind of obvious.
If I if I build a bubble Vader and I'd drive a boat over, it
should lift my boat up at least a little bit, not just shake it.
OK, so you guys just want to putdragon winds on boats, then?
(50:59):
Sure, let's do that. Love it.
No, no. No, no, no.
I call it the boat bouncer. I'm sure somebody would figure a
way out to optimize it, but justfor the idea of being able to
bounce my boat up a certain amount of blocks I really like
and I can see that being useful.I could see it working well in
like mini games. Yes, that's more of where I see
(51:22):
it. Yeah.
Then they had the idea of putting banners on the boat so
it acted like a sail. This has been an idea in the
game for a while now and it's pretty obvious because they
would add their reasoning. It could add 1 Customization to
the boat, which is customizationof Minecraft is a given.
Anytime you can add more customization, that's awesome. 2
(51:44):
it would add a bit of speed to the boat.
Yeah. Which makes the boat an even
better thing. Which could mean that the boat
could be better than a horse with Frostwalker enchanted
horseshoes, because now the boat's moving faster on water,
so it gives you a reason to go back and forth.
Yeah, they also decided to add pirates to the ocean, so it's
(52:09):
basically like a pillager patrolbut on boats.
I love this idea, it's so good. The only argument I have, and
it's not really an argument, it's kind of a correction.
They mentioned if you defeated apillager patrol it would give
you the bad omen effect. Pillager patrols don't give a
bad omen effect anymore. They drop a bottle of bad omen
so you can take the effect whenever you want.
(52:30):
So that obviously it's just a a mint on words and you can still
do it the same way they would just drop a bottle.
And the fact that if you did take that bad omen bottle and
drink it and went near a treasure chest, you would summon
a pirate raid similar to the raids that you get when you go
into a village with bad omen on.Yes.
(52:51):
Which I love as well. Which I think is way cooler than
the normal raids. Yeah, and the medium and large
boats that the waves of pirates spawn in as well.
They look really cool. Well, yeah, let's talk about
that. The the more progressing through
the raids, you don't get ravagers and other kinds of
pillagers, you get bigger boats. So you go from A2 seater boat to
(53:15):
now a three seater boat to A4 seater boat.
You have the four seater boat has double banners, so it's
super fast. You defeat these pirate
pillagers, you get to keep theirboats.
If you don't break them and destroy them, that means now you
have a four seater boat. Yes.
Which could allow you to carry horses, which has double banners
(53:38):
which means it's now super fast.Or if you're on a multiplayer
world and you don't want to takeseveral boats, you just take one
big boat and go over to whateveryou're doing.
Say you're alone. Now you fill those seats up with
chests, and now you have 3 chests instead of just one
chest. More places to to dump my junk.
(53:59):
Yeah, instead of putting in my storage room.
There, there was balancing done.So like the normal boat will do
a 360 faster and then the biggerthe boats the slower the the
360, which I absolutely love. That's a great balancing thing.
But I would like to point in there, if you were to put
basically the way the boats are designed, they're just bigger
(54:22):
versions of the boat, a little bit more detailed and they add
ORS for how many seats there are.
So if it's a four seater, it's got four sets of ORS.
If it's a 2 seater, it's got no,I think it's only three ORS for
the four seater and then two ores for the three seater and
then the one set of ores for thetwo seater, because boats are
two seaters. But if you have multiple people
(54:44):
in a boat and you're trying to turn around and everyone turns
and works together, the boat should be able to turn quicker.
Yeah. So there's that.
It really could change naval combat in Minecraft.
It will. It would create naval combat in
Minecraft. Yeah.
Which I think is extremely hype. It's such a good idea.
(55:06):
I was about to push back on you and you said boats were the the
best part of this video because like, the minecart changes are
really cool. But now, yes, we're talking
about it. I'm like, you know what?
The boat stuff is amazing to be fair.
The boat adds a new section of gameplay that's not really been
tapped into. Yeah, and that's why I'm excited
(55:27):
for it. Yeah, don't get me wrong, I love
the minecart changes too, but boats are what I was more
excited for because of the possibilities that comes from
it. And I've been championing bigger
boats for a long time now. Love.
It love it. Minecarts.
The first thing mentioned on upgrading the minecart was
chaining the minecarts together, which everybody wants.
(55:48):
It makes so much sense, especially that we have the
chain block. They mentioned maybe only
allowing 8 minecarts in a chain,which I think it's a good
number. I'd like that idea.
It's a sensible train length, isn't it?
Yeah, I know there will be some people like, well, I want 64
minecarts chained together. It's like, Oh yeah, OK, OK.
(56:09):
I think 8's a good number. They mentioned creating an
accelerometer so a player could get in a minecart and then
choose the speed it wants the minecart to go, and that would
set the minecart to go that speed, and then a player could
hop out and it would still determine that speed.
I'm not a fan of this update, and I don't think they were
(56:30):
either. It was just an idea that they
wanted to get across that could be useful.
Their best update for me was thenew rail because I've been
thinking about this. The way to fix minecarts aren't
the actual minecarts, it's the rails that they're on and adding
a copper rail that you can dial in what speed you want the
minecart to go is perfect. They were using it as kind of
(56:53):
like a detector rail or activator rail and stuff where a
single rail can set things. I would change it up a bit,
especially considering coppers readily available now.
Maybe even make us have a way toget more copper making copper
rails and you can dial in the set of rails to certain speeds.
(57:15):
I like that idea. But yes having a rail to control
the speed of a minecart is perfect because it doesn't break
already existing Redstone contraptions.
Allows you to have a new feel tominecart to use for
transportation. Chaining all those minecarts
together, whether that has hopper minecarts on them or
chest minecarts or or you just have a group of friends
(57:38):
travelling somewhere is super cool.
I really like that idea. I think that is the perfect way
to fix the minecart. Yeah, I I like the idea of the
copper rail. I'm not entirely sure it should
be copper, but yeah, it seems very create like, yeah, setting
that kind of thing, because that's what we do with quite a
few of the Redstone items and create a speed or we set like a
(58:01):
full slim in minutes, seconds, ticks, that kind of thing.
I do like the idea of being ableto change the minecart speed
without it affecting all these Redstone contraptions.
I think that's a very smart thing to bring into the
conversation because if you wereto just say, well, minecarts now
run at this speed, you're like, well, all these Redstone
(58:23):
contraptions are now broken. And I know Mojang isn't averse
from breaking Redstone contraptions, but I think that
would be a little bit too far. Yeah.
So yeah, having a having a rail that or a set of rails as you
say, I think just having one that then sets it for the
remainder of the track is a little bit over the top.
I feel like you have to make a specific type of rail for that
(58:46):
speed to go across it. I think makes sense.
You could have it like you couldcall it like an electrified
track or something like that. I was a lot more into the
minecart changes when I was watching the video than when
we've been chatting about it here.
I kind of glossed over the boat stuff.
I went minecarts. Yeah, the boat stuff is is the
the best of the three. I will.
(59:07):
I will take that. Well, in the last update to the
minecarts, we're replacing the the furnace minecart with a
blast furnace minecart, and the blast furnace minecart would
take any kind of fuel. Yeah, and it had kind of like a
fuel meter, so you could kind oflike fill it up, where with the
current furnace minecart, you basically hit it with one hole
(59:27):
and then it goes for a bit and then you have to hit it again.
Yeah, it's not got really an inventory as such.
With the blast furnace, it wouldhave sort of like a fuel tank
that you could fill up and then it would go for ages.
That's a really good idea as well.
The furnace minecart is a cool idea, badly implemented because
it's just too much maintenance to keep it going.
(59:48):
Yeah, I think the blast furnace,my cart, it's kind of an update.
I think it'll get forgotten about and more people will focus
on the rails. Oh, no doubt.
If that's what they go with, butthe ability to say because the
blast furnace my cart gives you the ability to go 64 blocks per
second so it's dialed in faster speed.
But what if it only does that depending on the fuel you put
(01:00:11):
in? There's like tears of fuel, so
if you put like blaze rods in there.
Yeah, maybe that gets you to 60 and bucket a lot.
That gets you 264. So the better the fuel source,
yeah, the better the running. I like that.
I don't want to limit to time travel.
I like changing speed. So like if you put a stick in
there, it's still going to run for the same amount of time, but
(01:00:33):
you're just going to run it at aslower speed because it didn't
get as hot. Yeah, you're going to run at
like 10 rather than 8 blocks a second or 12 or whatever right
can. Then coal would be charcoal
would be a little bit more and coal would be a little bit more
than that. And then yeah, you hire to would
be the ones that get your big speeds.
And that gives you the ability to dial in certain speeds and
(01:00:55):
stuff. Yeah, That could be a good way
of dialing it in rather than using the using the rail.
I think there's some there's some good ideas there though,
and I think they're hitting on for free transport options in
Minecraft that really do need looking at and really do need
modernizing, not taking away from the core functionality
that's there or just adding to it.
(01:01:16):
And that's a really smart way ofof coming about it.
Yes, all of these feel extremelyvanilla in Minecraft while at
the same time adding something to the game that it's original
and I I really like it. Definitely, definitely.
So go watch that video, guys. As I say, links in the show
notes. And they've got other videos
(01:01:36):
fixing useless Minecraft items. I have not watched that one yet.
I'm thinking about saving that one.
If we want to do another one of these episodes, if everyone
liked it, we'll do another one of those.
Yeah, I think that's going to doit for today's show.
