We are once again going to talk about the ultimate morning routine for the entrepreneur who wants to be productive in this episode. However, today, we are going to throw it all out the window.

Often when people talk about productivity, they are talking about activity: doing as much as is humanly possible. Productivity doesn’t mean constant movement; it means producing something. It’s right there in the word. Doing all these meaningless tasks on your list doesn’t get you closer to your goals. So, what does?

The first thing you need to do in the morning is prioritize what actually needs to get done today. Make a list of 5 things that have to get done today and order them in priority from 1 to 5. Number 1 is what you need to focus on and get done before you even think about doing anything else. Whatever is first in terms of priority is usually the most difficult. You don’t need to distract yourself with finishing less important things.

The second thing to look at and ask yourself is “why are you doing this in the first place?” It’s so you can create the best possible outcome by creating something for somebody else. Is what you’re producing something that others can consume? Look at which things on your list actively help you accomplish that.

The third thing to do as part of your morning is to ship something to the market. So many people make things and shelf them because they aren’t perfect. You can’t get anywhere without putting something out into the market. Be consistent.
