Hello, Kiddos!
Welcome back to another exciting conversation. Today, I'm joined by Alex Oh and Nikolay Borisov, the dynamic founders and business partners behind Ohlay - SOCIAL JOURNALING & WORKPLACE CULTURE. At Ohlay, our mission is to foster deeper connections through social journaling and cultivate a more meaningful workplace culture.
Together, we're on a journey to inspire a cultural transformation in how people connect with themselves, with others, and within their professional environments. Based in vibrant Los Angeles, Ohlay serves as both a culture consultancy and a social journaling studio.
Our approach merges people development, design thinking, and social healing to empower individuals to live and work with heightened passion and camaraderie. Through diverse channels and innovative communication strategies, we're co-creating communities, platforms, and content that truly resonate with our members and users.
Join us as we delve into enriching conversations, community gatherings, and tools designed to master the art of connection. Our initial focus? The fascinating world of social journaling.
Nikolay believes fervently in the transformative power of Social Journaling (SJ). Developed at Ohlay, SJ is a facilitation process aimed at nurturing equity, empathy, and effectiveness within group dynamics. Whether in partnerships, organizations, or communities, SJ has the potential to make a positive impact wherever humans gather.

I'm Yovy D, a former media broadcaster who transitioned into podcasting in 2017. My podcasting journey was driven by a series of layoffs I experienced—three times in just five years. This desire to switch careers was a long-standing passion, dating back to my high school days when I was a devoted TV viewer, particularly of talk shows. During that time, I realized my true calling was in journalism, explicitly producing content. To confirm my abilities, I decided to engage with the public and put my skills to the test. Fast forward to today, and I've successfully launched my English podcast, "The Yovy D," while wholeheartedly embracing and celebrating my unique accent. Moreover, I've ventured into creating the "Chombita Chronicles" podcast. This podcast chronicles my life journey as a Latina, Black, college-educated individual exposed to unique educational and career opportunities. The "Chombita Chronicles" primarily serves as a storytelling platform, advocating for and showcasing the personal narratives of Afrolatinx individuals.
