(00:07):
Are you guys, It is aboutthat time. I am long overdue,
but I am so excited, honoredand thrilled to be back with season two.
Isn't that great? You all havebeen with me when we originally launched

(00:29):
Janelle Lank for The Lifestylist, andI hope that you take the opportunity to
listen to some of those previous episodes, and I wanted to do something new.
I am entering a new season.I am entering a time where I
am in a proverbial waiting pattern, and I know that there are so many

(00:51):
of you who can understand that, who can feel that, who that resonates
with. And so the new podcastDay that Wait is a continuation of what
I have shared with you before, but with a more defined focus and really

(01:15):
therapy for me to one to beobedient and to to honor what I started
so that I may finish it,and just to have that digital camaraderie that
is necessary for all of us thatare riding the wave of life, entrepreneurship,

(01:38):
relationships, all types of things thatwe are experiencing and going through.
So I hope that you enjoy thisseason with me, and we will allow
the season to take us wherever Godsees fit, and that is with me

(02:01):
as well, because I am certainlyin a different place, and by different,
I mean I am in uncharted territory. And what's interesting about today's episode
is I had this understanding in thisrevelation about they that wait a long time

(02:27):
ago, and I was studying togain an understanding about egos and what all
of this means right and what itmeans for me, and what it meant
in that moment, and I reallyhate that in that moment, I didn't
take any notes. And what's interestingis, in that moment in my life,

(02:49):
that word was just for me.And as I enter into a new
season of life where you know thereit's one thing to be totally reliant upon
God, but then there's something tobe said when you are reliant upon him

(03:10):
because it's your only recourse. Ihave no choice. And it's not even
your election. You have been thrustinto this being your election because you know
at this point it is your onlyviable choice. So when I originally came

(03:30):
across this knowledge, let's call it, he was just for me and I
needed to understand it. And it'sso funny because when I was preparing for
the relaunch of the podcast, Iwas desperately combing through every single note that
I've ever written, from like booknotes to Bible study notes to prayer pod

(03:57):
notes to just things I've written down, and I and find it for anything.
And what's interesting about that is Ireally believe that I needed to revisit
it with fresh eyes. And thenI also have the ability to share with
you this knowledge in kind of whereI am right now, because in the

(04:20):
time where originally I had the understandingof it, I was in a different
season. But I needed this wordand I'm so glad I had it because
I had something to go back on, and that is really where we are
in life right Typically, I wouldn'twant to lead with a scripture, you

(04:43):
know. I think that sometimes whenyou're going through things, the reality is
it is very challenging to go tothe word because sometimes we don't want a
spiritual band aid. We want resolution, we want remedy, we wanted to
be fixed, we wanted to beover. And that is why it is

(05:08):
so necessary for this podcast in thismoment, for they that wait, what
are you waiting for? We allare in a proverbial season or moment of
wait. We are all waiting onsomething. We may be waiting on an

(05:28):
email. We may be waiting ona callback. We maybe waiting on an
opportunity. We may be waiting onan answer. We may be waiting on
a relief, on peace, onbreakthrough, we may be waiting for the

(05:49):
feeling of newness. But we're allwaiting on something, some big, some
small, super important, some notso important as we measure it ourselves.
But I think we're all waiting onsomething. And I think for those of

(06:11):
us who continue to push the needleforward in our respective businesses, our brands,
and our purpose, we are ina season of weight. And I
feel like in different moments, theintensity of the weight is different. Right.
Sometimes it's super serious and detrimental andmonuments over what it can do and

(06:36):
for what we believe it to do, whatever that thing is. But I
think we've all experienced it at somepoint in time. I want to talk
to you about and a very intenseweight as we explore this concept of they

(06:57):
that weight. Weight, Does itmean that you are in a place of
lack? I don't think. Ithink there's danger in believing that if you're
waiting for something that you're in aplace of lack, waiting for it or
being in a season of weight reallyis an indication that you believe or that

(07:21):
you know that something is coming, that something is there, that you are
on the cusp of that thing,of that answer, of that breakthrough of
what is necessary or what is neededor what is desired for what you are

(07:43):
waiting for. But tonight I wantto talk about the weight. That is
the excruciating weight that we have thatrequires us to do a lot of work
while we're in it. The textis Isaiah forty thirty one, and I

(08:05):
think we all know it. We'veall heard it at some point, and
we probably have recited it some way, shape or form, and it reads
those but but those who wait onthe Lord shall renew their strength. They
should mount up with wings like eagles. They shall run and not be weary,

(08:30):
they shall walk and not faint. There are three parts to this,
the weight, the renewing of ourstrength, and the mount up part.
And when we are exercising our faithand exercising our strategies, we really want

(08:50):
to get to the mountop part.Right we are we are working for the
results, and the reality is isthe results are up to God. As
always tell coaching clients that because youknow, we put so many things forward

(09:11):
in business and in branding and inbuilding and even in relationships and in life
with our dreams and our hopes,we are tired lessly working towards something with
the idea of the finish line.We are working towards something, and the

(09:31):
hardest thing to digest is that theresults are up to God. And that
doesn't mean that we won't get whatwe want, or we shouldn't have a
specific ask or a specific goal inmind for that matter, but it simply
means that it works sometimes against usand in our favor, because sometimes we

(09:56):
don't put in all the effort thatwe could, and the result are extraordinary,
just because it's the blessing, it'sthe grace, and it's the favor,
and sometimes we push it to thelimit, right we really get in
there, we're burning the midnight oil. We're doing everything necessary to move the
needle forward and whatever our thing is, and it just doesn't land the way

(10:20):
that we want it to land, and we're kind of left trying to figure
out, like, Okay, whathappened here? What did I do wrong?
What do I need to adjust? What do I need to recalibrate,
how do I need to re strategizeright? And so when we're talking about
the weight, the first thing thatI want to discuss with you is how

(10:43):
do you wait? Waiting is hard. I remember Stephen Verdick said that faith
is the time in between the askand the answer, just the ask and
the answer. Faith is that timein between, like that waiting time.

(11:09):
And it is hard to be agood steward in your weight because usually our
weight looks like spiraling or so emotionalpleading, throwing things at the wall hoping
that they stick, and just alot of spinning our wheels. I want

(11:31):
to offer to you that we haveto better determine and decide how we want
to wait. I know when Iwas in seasons of waiting for the other
side of my answer or my breakthroughor whatever I needed in the moment.
Sometimes I was just so stressed outduring my weight and in those moments because

(11:56):
I was so focused on the pain, in the agony and the disparagement,
just the downright disparagement that I wasexperiencing. I wasn't a good steward with
my weight period, and I couldhave saved myself a lot of anguish in

(12:16):
my weight had I kind of lockedin and gotten more focused in my weight
instead of concerning myself with the conditions, And quite honestly, in this season,
I have made a decision to notfocus on the conditions and just focus

(12:41):
on the finish line, because theconditions are always going to change, and
the conditions are going to be whatthe conditions are, and I don't want
to be manipulated by the conditions becausethey're only temporal. They're not going to
last forever. And the conditions arethere to push me into where I need
to be, or how about this, to push me where I said I

(13:03):
want it to be. And sowhen we get too caught up in the
conditions, we don't allow ourselves thepeace that is in that process because we're
focusing so much on the conditions insteadof what we need to be doing in
that weight time. In the text, in the original language, the word

(13:28):
weight means to hope or to expect, so it's those that hope on the
Lord or those who expect something fromthe Lord. The weight means I can
take a pause because I'm hoping forsomething and I'm expecting something from God.

(13:50):
I'm hoping for something, and Iam expecting something from my efforts. I
am looking for my faith to behonored. That is what the weight is.
And so when we worry ourselves withthe conditions of the weight, then
we begin to make decisions out ofdesperation or we don't trade our worry for

(14:15):
God's peace in those moments where wecould elect to find peace and not turmoil,
and not heartache and not hurt, but just to focus on I'm expecting
something, and if I'm expecting something, something is coming. I'm not expecting
something from someone or from a situationthat isn't going to produce. The situation

(14:37):
is going to produce. It hasto The universe actually has to yield to
me because of what I've put init. And right now we're waiting just
for the natural to catch up witha supernatural. So when we are in
our weight period, we have tolearn how to be better stewards with that.

(14:58):
The second part of the text saysthat you shall renew their strength,
that those I wait on the Lordshall renew their strength. They should mount
up like wings like eagles. Youknow what's interesting about the Texas. We

(15:18):
always have to question ourselves and say, why does the text say this?
Why is it an ego instead ofa dove, instead of a turtle,
and instead of a elephant? Whyis it this? Here's the thing.

(15:39):
To renew in the text means topass on quickly, to sprout again,
to change, to alter. Soin our waiting period, it requires us
to do some work on ourselves. And see, we try to work the
situation instead of working ourselves, andthen we wonder why the situation hasn't changed,

(16:03):
And it's simply because we don't havethe perspective and we haven't equipped ourselves
with the tools necessary to see thesituation as it is. And so the
way time is for us to dothe work while God has worked things out
for us. So the result isjust waiting for us. But if we
haven't done the work that we needto do internally, then we cannot approach

(16:29):
the answer, the resolve, theresult the way we need to We need
to change, we need to alter. Egos have a malting process, and
this is really extraordinary. The maltingprocess is deadly. It's something that they

(16:52):
go through and the reason why theygo through it catch this is because over
time, as they've gone through theirlife, as they've gone through previous trials
and tribulations. As they've gone throughtheir day to day regular things, their
wings become heavy with dirt and oil. Some of us right now are very

(17:17):
heavy with just what life has servedus up, with what some of our
decisions have done to us, withsome of our choices, with some of
our desires. It's it's dirtied usup a little bit. Some of the
people that we've been connected to ushas soiled us a bit. Some of

(17:41):
the things that we have affinity tohave have have soiled us a bit.
They've made us heavy. Some ofthe things that we've told ourselves that dishonor
who we are and who we wantto be, it's made us heavy.
In order for us to swarm andorder us to prevail and order us to
ascend, we got to be lighter. And so eagles have this heaviness that

(18:06):
they have to get rid of becausewhat they need to do, the heaviness
doesn't serve them. So they gothrough this process and they shed their feathers.
Here this their vision blurs during thistime they can barely see. They
break their talents, talents, andthey break their beaks by crushing them up

(18:30):
against the rocks. It's one ofthe most painful times and the eagles life.
And I know you've had a painfultime, and I know you've thrown
things up against the wall, andI know you've been ready to pull your
hair out, and I just wantto offer to you that you're just going
through the malting process, and thisis your moment to alter yourself, to

(18:53):
change, to pass through this thingquickly so that you can get through the
results. This is a death process. This is a way to release ourselves
from the heaviness that has happened tous and some of the heaviness that we
have selected on ourselves. Here's theother thing about this. During this time,

(19:15):
the egos they can't fend for themselves, so they become reliant upon their
brothers and sisters for food during thistime because they can't hunt. If you
are like me, one of thehardest parts of going through this valley,
or going through the weight is havingto rely upon other people. Because if
you're like me, you are theperson that people rely on. You are

(19:37):
the person that comes through. Youare the person that can help somebody,
and I mean help them, Andand so there's this bit of fear that
someone can't help you the way you'vehelped other people. And so when you're
going through your waiting process, therethere in lies that state of urgency because

(19:59):
you know, Kate, nobody comethrough for you the way you've come through
for other people. But in thistime of change, in this time of
releasing the heavy, removing the dirt, removing the oil, it's going to
become necessary where you trust the processjust enough to allow others to step into

(20:26):
for you, allow people that havebeen positioned around you and positioned in your
life for such a time as this, for them to do something for you.
They may not be able to dowhat you've done for them, but
they can help you along the way, or they may be able to do
that exceedingly and abundantly no more, because they have been positioned there for this

(20:51):
moment. So that while you arein your valley, renewing your strength,
cleaning yourself up, becoming stronger, coming wiser, having clear vision that you
can still have what you need duringthat time. The last part of this
is the mounting up. So nowwe've waited, we've hoped. When we're

(21:15):
expecting God to do something, we'rehoping and expecting our strategy and our initiatives
and our tactics to work and forus to see them through fully. And
in that process and our way,we've decided not to focus on our conditions,
but we're going to focus on ourselvesand what we need to do to

(21:37):
be better, to remove some ofthe heaviness, to remove the dirt,
to remove the oil, to learnhow to trust, and learn how to
become reliant. Because I'm not worriedabout my conditions. I'm just worried about
making sure that I'm the best personin character, in mind and heart and
faith, so that when I getto my result, I can be a

(22:00):
good steward with that. And solastly we mount up. It says they
shall mount up with wings like Ego, the new wings, the ones that
have ridded itself of the dirt, the oil, of the heaviness. They're
new, they're brand new. They'restronger than ever, they're lighter than ever,

(22:22):
they're more beautiful than before. Andso in the text it means to
ascend, to spring up, togrow, check this, to extend.
So when we do the work inour weight, we are able to cross
boundaries, break barriers, to gofurther than we were before. That's why

(22:45):
the multi process is necessary. Therehas to be a renewal because we have
somewhere further that we want to gothat with our previous baggage, we couldn't
go there. And so we haveto begin to do this, this this
shedding process that is necessary so thatwe can what have the desires of our

(23:10):
heart. And so now you're strongerthan you were before. You're better than
you were before, You're lighter thanyou were before. And I'm going to
tell you with every great expectation thatwe have, that is what's necessary.

(23:30):
To be better, to be lighter, to have more insight, to have
a newness, to have a freedomso that we can soar and goal where
we need to go. The eagleis the king of the air. It

(23:51):
is known for its ability to soarabove the storm. With sharp vision,
it can spot let's prey from milesaway. Covered with majestic feathers and armed
with powerful talons, they are designedto perform extraordinary feats. You are designed

(24:22):
to perform extraordinary feats. You areyou're designed for that, you were created
for that, you were created forthe moments of the renewal, for the
moment of the weight for the momentof the mounting up, because you were

(24:47):
designed for such a time as this, and all you have to do is
to be a good steward with yourweight, because stay that weight on the
Lord, she'll renew their strength.I hope you guys have enjoyed our very
first episode of season two. Prayfor me as I pray for you,

(25:15):
and please remember that you were designedfor extraordinary feats.
