Jefferson is Associate Professor of Geography and Geographic Information Science at the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign. He edits the digital magazine societyandspace.org, serves on the editorial boards of the Annals of the American Association of Geographers and Urban Geography, and is author of Digitize and Punish: Racial Criminalization in the Digital Age.
