During my youth, I had the loving guidance of my whole family, especially my mother. My children married and were blessed with their children and my great-grandchildren. One of my hobbies was crocheting Afghans for my family.
After my career years, my loving husband and I retired to Florida, where I became involved with the Senior Citizen's Club of Dania, Florida, and the Lioness Club of Florida, earning the Golden Chain Award. Since then I have enjoyed many hours writing children's stories as a hobby. Two of the books published are titled Grandmother's Bedtime Stories, in addition to this family-oriented novel.
Gloria M. Madden, author of A Life Remembered, has always been inspired by the beauty and simplicity of everyday moments. Shortly after retiring, she found joy in quiet mornings with a warm cup of tea, watching Robin’s lively antics at the birdbath. Day by day, she took notes on the bird’s habits, sparking an idea to turn these observations into a story for children. This small, delightful project was the beginning of her journey as an author, proving that inspiration often comes from the most unexpected places.
Over the years, Gloria’s passion for writing has blossomed into nine published books that grace the shelves of her library. Her creative energy doesn’t stop there. Gloria has been deeply involved in her community, from earning the prestigious Golden Chain Award with the Lions Club of Dania, Florida, to painting and showcasing her artwork with the Senior Citizen Club. These experiences have enriched her stories, offering readers a glimpse into a life brimming with curiosity and engagement. Whether it’s crafting tales or leading group activities, Gloria’s knack for storytelling extends beyond the written page.
Now settled in Spring Hill, Florida, Gloria continues to lead an active and creative life. She cherishes her time crocheting afghans for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, a testament to her love for family and tradition. Between games of Pinochle, Dominos, and Canasta at her local senior club, Gloria reflects on her rich tapestry of experiences. A Life Remembered is her latest work, a heartfelt story that encapsulates her journey and the memories she holds dear.
