inches, and she was still.
(00:41):
Taking care of her baby girls.
So I wanted to share her story inher words because her words are so
powerful and an amazing transformationthat I wanted to share with you all.

(01:47):
I worked out up untilthe day I had Sienna.
I'm doing this again.
Body allowed.
Before you started Thyroid Strong, canyou share what some of your struggles
or symptoms or frustrations were?
Before starting Thyroid Strong,I did the typical route.
I, when I was first diagnosed withHashimoto's and hypothyroid, I was
(02:10):
already struggling for a year postpartum.
I knew something was up and doctorsdidn't want to do the lab work.
They just said, it'sfine, it's postpartum.
It's postpartum.
So, I, when I then was diagnosed, Idecided, I'm just going to listen to my
endocrinologist, let me just take my Levoand hope for the best, continue what I was
doing the whole time prior to postpartum.
(02:31):
After I was diagnosed, I was working out.
I was eating prettyclean, like pretty well.
I knew what, I know what to do.
I said that to Emily, I know what to do.
Is this for me?
And yes, it is for you.
So if you're like me and you'rethinking like, is thyroid strong for me?
Yes, it is.
Um, And I was struggling with hair loss, fatigue, I had no energy, my joints hurt,
(02:51):
um, and that was with already working out.
I was a hit workout junkie, like, let me just admit it, I was, and
when I first started Thyroid Strongday one, I was like, Emily, are
you sure this is going to work?
Like, should I add in cardio?
And she's like, just do the program.
And I did, and it was amazing, and it'scrazy how, I don't want to, I don't
(03:14):
want to diminish and say how less, Ifelt like I was exerting myself, but
honestly, yes, I was exerting myselfless, lifting a ton heavier than I was
prior and just feeling better overall.
And I remember like twoweeks in, I was like, okay.
Wow, my back doesn't hurt anymore.
And I was a chronic, like throwing outyour back and then add on postpartum.
It's not fun.
(03:34):
So needless to say, this was very helpfuland it just helped me feel strong again.
It helped me lower the inflammation, which for me has always been a struggle.
I have celiac disease and nowhypothyroid Hashimoto's and I had
muscle activation in the past.
So needless to say, inflammationis not my BFF and I needed to make
sure that I did something to takethat down because of course, if you.
(03:58):
have Hashimoto's, you know, yourantibodies are going through the roof and
you just need to tackle that because youdon't need another situation like that.
So needless to say, thyroid strong health.
Yeah.
What kind of HIIT workouts were you doing?
What did they look like?
How long were they originally?
Oh, you want the long answer?
Sure.
So, okay.
So prior to COVID, my HIITworkouts I was doing, I did spin.
(04:22):
I worked at a spin studioand I did spin 70s a week.
Multiple double classes, andyou know that's very intense.
I also did two to three Zumba classesa week on top of my normal workouts.
I was like a workout junkie.
I loved it.
I was very into fitness at the time.
Um, looking back, it was probablynot a healthy relationship.
And it was just It was what I did.
(04:44):
I felt good.
I felt strong doing that.
Was I constantly throwing out my back?
Yes, I was.
I was living at my chiropractor's office.
And she's like, Sarah, like, I think youneed to, like, tone it back a little.
And I was like, I'm fine.
Just fix me up.
And she's like, okay, like,I don't know about this.
And it wasn't until COVID hit that I cameto a crashing halt and I was just doing my
(05:06):
normal home workouts that I've been doingfor years because the studio was closed.
And so it wasn't too bad.
So I did that, and it was weird.
All of a sudden, I was able to loseweight and the inflammation was
coming off, and hmm, wonder why.
Um, probably because my workouts weredialed back so much, and again, I
already have a autoimmune background.
(05:28):
I was already struggling withautoimmune disease prior to my thyroid,
and then it wasn't until pregnancythat I was like, You know what?
Let's try low impact a bit more, but mebeing me, I love a little adrenaline in
my life, and I And we'll do HIIT workoutstwo to three days a week, still while
pregnant, like, up until I gave birth.
Um, and then it wasn't until Iwas diagnosed with Hashimoto's
(05:48):
and hypothyroid that I was like, okay, I need to get serious.
going through Thyroid Strong, whatkind of shifts did you see afterwards,
whether they were mental or physicalSo needless to say, when I started
Thyroid Strong, I did notice shifts.
I love to food journal and just like writedown how I'm feeling, things like that.
Good old autoimmune.
You have to write it down sometimes.
(06:10):
And I noticed I had lessbrain fog and that's huge.
And I always know something's upwith me when I have brain fog.
I just know I'm a girl from Boston.
I talk fast.
And when I'm struggling with words.
I will say, it happens sometimes rightnow I'm pregnant, it happens still, but
it's, it's different when you're pregnant.
Needless to say, I was struggling withthe brain fog, I was struggling with the
(06:30):
fatigue, I was oversleeping, my daughterwas up before me, you know, at the time.
She just turned two and she was upbefore me and I was like, oh shit, like,
don't have time to do my workout, she'sgonna be with me, the day's ruined.
It's not ruined.
And I feel like I was able tohave more of a positive attitude
because I was feeling good.
It wasn't like, oh, let me just go throughthe motions of life and hope for the best.
(06:52):
It was like, okay, i'mfinally feeling better.
Oh, wow.
I have more energy for stairs.
We have four flights We have fourfloors in our house, so we have,
what, eight flights of stairs?
I do a lot of stairs, and it was apoint in time that anytime I have
autoimmune flare ups, the stairs hurt.
And I just knew this was going to help me.
And then on top of it, with thethyroid strong, I noticed that I
(07:15):
started feeling less inflamed, andthe scales started moving down.
And I, I know it's not all aboutthat, guys, but hear me out.
When you're strugglingwith thyroid issues.
It feels really nice to see this go down.
It just does.
It just does.
And you're like, okay, the needle'smoving in the right direction.
You know, something is changing on topof how you're already feeling better.
(07:35):
I remember you, DMing me and you'relike, I lost this amount of pounds
and I lost, this number of inches.
Do you remember what those numbers were?
Yeah, Pretty sure when I did myfirst round of thyroid strong, I
think I was just under 10 poundsdown and that's incredible.
And that was with alreadyworking out prior and.
Not seeing the scale go down.
(07:55):
It was honestly just going up andI think it was about 12 inches.
And that's, that's insane.
You guys just doing that withscaling back my workouts.
I was like, wait a minute.
I'm doing three lifts a weekand two, like, active kind
of recovery days, you know?
Like, this is incredible.
That was, when you texted methat, I was like, yes, girl.
I remember I was like, okay, now to find heavier weights.
(08:17):
Okay.
And I remember I scored a hugeheavy dumbbell at Marshalls, of
all places, and I was like, yes!
And I was like, this isn'tgonna last me forever.
Mm mm.
Two weeks later, too light.
people who are on the fence, who arelike, I don't know, maybe is this for me?
if you were going to speak to Sarah PreThyroid Strong, what would you tell her if
(08:38):
she was like, I want to, but I don't know.
That's exactly me.
I had this exact conversation with mymom before signing up for Thyroid Strong.
We were sitting on the couchand she's like, just do it.
And I was, she has Hashimoto'sand hypothyroid as well.
And she's like, I'll do it with you.
And I was like, Well, what if it doesn't work?
You know, like I've tried everythingand you know, that is my brain.
(09:01):
I'm a very sassy lady.
And I was like, you know what?
F it.
Let's just, I don't know if I'm so sore.
I was like, F it.
Let's just do this.
And so I did signed up and Iremember the next day I was like,
wait, where do I find the calendar?
Cause I was ready to rumble.
Like I was ready to go.
if I was talking to my formerself, I would just say like,
you have nothing to lose.
Okay.
(09:21):
The price is very reasonable.
And just think of likehow much money you blow.
Like if you shopping or black Fridayor online shopping, whatever it may be,
your health is worth much more than that.
It's invaluable.
Yeah.
Especially as a mom, it's invaluable.
when I was first diagnosed, I waslike, my whole goal is to get my
health back, to have enough energy, tobe with my kiddo, and be present and
(09:44):
patient, and wake up with them, right?
what has changed with your, with your daughter, if anything?
Yeah.
So, since finishing Thyroid Strong, I've,I think I've done it like three times.
Who are five times now.
And now I still live during pregnancy.
I'm 17 weeks and I have moreenergy than I did when I started.
And that's after having a reallyrough beginning of this pregnancy.
(10:07):
I was still able to work out, and Ijust dialed it back just a smidge until
I was feeling better, but having moreenergy with her just feels so good.
I remember it just was so painfulbefore having, going for a walk
was painful, playing painful, andI just wanted to make sure that I
had more energy, and especially nowI'm gonna have a newborn in March.
You gotta have that energy, you guys.
You can't be like, livingoff of caffeine like I was.
(10:29):
I totally cut caffeine aswell, prior to Thyroid Strong.
It was actually the first thingI did when I was diagnosed with
hypothyroid and Hashimoto's.
I was like, okay, let'sjust go cold turkey.
and I just feel like I have so much moreenergy even without caffeine or anything.
Yeah.
Tell me about Disney.
You texted me this.
This Disney trip comparedto the prior Disney trip.
(10:49):
Okay, so let's just talk.
Let's just, elephant in the room,Disney is a lot of walking, you guys.
Add on having autoimmune disease.
Can I take them back a little farther?
Please do.
Okay, so 2015 through 2017, I wasgoing through a ton of health issues.
It turns out I was livingin a home with black mold.
(11:09):
It was very traumatic.
I was diagnosed with MastCell Activation Disorder.
I was found out I was anaphylactic toallergies that I had no idea about.
No idea.
and it just kept progressing so severely.
And I had no energy.
I remember going to Disney.
I went to Disney with my mom for the firsttime after she had knee replacements,
(11:30):
and she thought she'd never be ableto go back again, and now my mom
just thought it was wrong, you guys.
She's amazing.
She's been working out for, you know, 12years now, doing incredible, and when she
first started, she couldn't walk at all.
Um, and we went to Disney, and I brought all my food in.
I have celiac disease as well, and Ididn't know how they would deal with
food allergies and celiac disease.
I was struggling so bad.
I had to stop every time we saw aseat because I was in so much pain.
(11:54):
I was going through so much inflammation.
My joints were a mess.
I was getting tested for lupus.
They thought I had lupusor rheumatoid arthritis.
Turns out I do not.
It was severe inflammation.
So fast forward, let'ssay 20, 2023, last year.
We went to Disney, my whole family.
My daughter was our first trip.
(12:14):
It was incredible.
But I had no energy and I was so inflamed.
And by the end of the trip,my clothes felt so tight.
Obviously it's theme park food, even if it's gluten free, I
have to be gluten free for life.
It's still not quality food.
It's just not, let's be honest.
It's theme park.
Um, they do do the best they canand you can make amazing options.
(12:35):
I do it all the time, but my clothesjust were snug and my face was
inflamed and I'm like, something is up.
And I felt like anytime I wascarrying my daughter at that
time, she was a year and a half.
She felt so heavy.
And I was like, I'mlifting, what is going on?
Fast forward to this May, May 2024.
I was, I think, I think I was oneround into thyroid strong or two.
(12:58):
I think I was in the middle of two.
We were in Disney.
It was my mom, my daughter, and I,and my husband stayed back this one.
It was a girl's trip.
Let's just say my daughterhad a really hard time.
She was almost two and a half.
and she had a really hard time.
We didn't know she had a doubleear infection, and it was very
severe, and she refused to walk.
She refused to sit in the stroller, andshe was very cranky, and that's not her.
(13:21):
She is a sassy little stinger, and I held her the entire time.
And I had no back pain.
And it was incredible.
I'm not gonna lie, it was amazing.
I carried her through Epcot.
Like, you've been to Epcot.
It's a lot.
It's a lot of walking.
It was also raining the whole trip.
So I was holding herwith an umbrella in hand.
(13:43):
And I remember my muscles just burning.
And I was like, well, thisis my lifting for the week.
And I was like, what would achiropractor say right now?
Like, Emily, um, switch arms.
I was trying because I'm very proneto, like, throwing one hip out.
Um, you know, mom hip.
And so needless to say,I felt so much stronger.
And I remember texting her and I wasjust like, Yeah, this is a big change.
(14:06):
And I remember my mom was like,Hey, do you need some help?
And I'm like, I got this.
Keep it moving.
Just keep it moving.
You push the stroller.
The empty stroller.
That, you know, expensive stroller.
Just keep it moving.
And it turns out she had a double earinfection and the poor thing was not well.
But I'm thankful I was able to carry her.
Cause normally I wouldhave relied on my husband.
He's a much taller, biggerguy than him, you know?
(14:27):
And so it felt so good, to do that.
It really did.
Yeah, I love that.
Like, this is why we lift, ladies.
Yeah, literally, this is why, witha diaper bag on your back and all.
Oh yeah, that is why.
Felt like a pack mule.
part of the goal of Thyroid Strong isto remove restrictions in women's lives.
(14:49):
the example of being able tocarry your daughter, that is
like removing a restriction.
Can you think of other thingswhere, Thyroid Strong has given you
more freedom, to do certain thingsand what would those things be?
Yeah, so some restrictions that I'vebeen able to lift since doing Thyroid
Strong, of course, carrying my daughter.
She's 35 pounds.
(15:11):
That's not light when, especiallywhen they're tired and they
just throw your dad weight.
Um, or carrying her, sleeping through Disney.
You guys know how that is.
If you have kids, how much heavierthey are when they're sleeping.
being able to just bend downconstantly and not throw my back
out, um, prior to thyroid strong.
This might be due to terrible form.
I'm not sure.
(15:31):
I used to throw my back out everytime I did a deadlift, every time.
So when I saw that was likethe number one move on thyroid
strong, I was like, Oh shit.
I almost texted you and was like,Hey, I'm a little nervous about this.
I'm like, Nope, shut up and do it.
That's just what I told myself.
I have no issues.
Thanks.
Transcribed Even while pregnant now andmy, like, center of gravity has changed.
Nope, no restrictions.
(15:53):
And I've been able to just go up inweight again without throwing my back out.
I, um, have some issues in my back.
I fell when I was in high school.
And I chipped my tailbone.
And I have some discs that justlike to slip out of place a lot.
That's been totally great.
Which is incredible.
Seriously, like I said before, I wasliving in the chiropractor's office prior.
(16:16):
And, what other restrictions?
Do you go to your chiropractor less now?
So, I have to go back because ofpregnancy, but I was going, like, prior
to COVID, like, I was going all the time.
Like, three times a week.
Whoa.
Which is like, okay, like, your body is not happy.
And I was having crazy tensionin my neck and everything.
Yeah.
Um, but I love them for, like, prevention.
(16:38):
how often would you say?
Oh, just like, as needed, like once a month or so.
Oh.
Yeah.
Awesome.
That's amazing.
But like going up the stairs in ourhouse and just running around, like, oh,
I forgot something, let me go grab it.
In the past I'd be like, that can wait, can't do that.
Um, my husband jokes that my energy isback so much that he can't take it because
(16:59):
at night my daughter and I just likehave so much energy and we're just wild.
And.
That's just how we are as people, and that for me was gone for a while,
and I feel like my personality isback because I'm feeling better.
Hmm, so good.
Yeah.
So good.
is there anything elseyou would want to share?
