Speaker 1 (00:15):
Philip Rivers.

Speaker 2 (00:20):
They're bringing him back for a workout, and I know
what you're saying to me. I'm sorry, Tony, we must
have misshurd faulty connection.

Speaker 1 (00:29):
Did you say.

Speaker 2 (00:29):
Philip Rivers, Rivers, Philip not Philip Rivers, Philip Rivers, Yes.

Speaker 3 (00:34):
I did.

Speaker 2 (00:34):
Tony Katz ninety three WIBC, Good morning. The former Indianapolis
Colts quarterback, the former San Diego Chargers before they fled
to Los Angeles. In the wimpiest move ever, They've brought
him back. They're gonna see if he can go under center.
What happened to Riley Leonard? I don't know, something with

(00:57):
his knee, having a Daniel Jones. Well, I say it
this way very clearly.

Speaker 1 (01:07):
The Indianapolis Colts knew the leg.

Speaker 2 (01:09):
Injury was worse than they were telling us, and told
them to go out there anyway, not looking out for
his best interest, not looking out for long term team
best interest, not bringing anybody else to be able to
cover if you didn't think that your backups were of
caliber to be able to do the job. And they
set an entire season on fire for it. Oh, this

(01:30):
is to me, Chris Ballard one oh one, not explaining
what's happening. Not sharing with the Colts faithful. That's what
this team does under Chris Ballard again and again and again.

Speaker 1 (01:42):
That's just my take.

Speaker 2 (01:44):
Someone else could have a different take, have more data,
I could change my mind.

Speaker 1 (01:48):
But faith in Chris Ballard.

Speaker 2 (01:50):
No, no, no, no. They really did put Daniel Jones
out there to have a heck of a lot of
potential problems, and now they have with the achilles which
he had the surgery on to repair.

Speaker 1 (02:07):
The season is done.

Speaker 2 (02:09):
So for those of you are paying attention to leg injuries,
that's Caitlin Clark, Tyrus Halliburton, Daniel Jones, possible new with
Riley Leonard. I do not know what the curse is,
but it is clearly Joe hawgs Set's fault. Honestly, I
might not be wrong about that. So they're bringing in
Philip Rivers that is just nutty. By the way, if

(02:38):
he plays, I'm gonna watch absolutely, I'm gonna wish him well.
And if you say to me, where is Anthony Richardson,
he still has the orbital fracture from an exercise band,
so he's not coming back. And we do have Brett
Rippon on the squad. He's on the practice squad, So

(03:03):
there doesn't seem to be much faith in his ability,
But there he is.

Speaker 4 (03:10):
We will watch to see what happens.

Speaker 2 (03:30):
All right, I'll bite Philip Rivers.

Speaker 1 (03:36):
We so don't have a quarterback.

Speaker 2 (03:38):
We went from being an unstoppable Indianapolis Colts team to
clearly clearly junior varsity. Tony Katz ninety three WIBC. Good morning,
Daniel Jones out the achilles injury. Hope the surgery went well,
and hope that he heals up. Ridley Leonard might have

(03:58):
a knee injury. Colts clearly don't have any faith in
Brett Rippon, who is the third string quarterback, And so
they gave Philip Rivers a call, who is forty four
and is a grandfather and has been out of football
for four years, and said, hey, what do you think
JMV joined us right now? He is the voice of
sports in Indiana in ninety three five one seven five

(04:20):
the Fan. Before we get into Philip Rivers, I'm going
to say it as I say, you don't have to
agree with me, You're more than welcome to disagree with me.
This is Chris Ballard's modus operandi. He lies to the fans.
I think he lies to other That's my take, and
if it's not a lie, I don't know what to
call it. Clearly, Daniel Jones was more injured than we thought,
certainly for weeks now, and that is possibly attributable to

(04:44):
the bad play that we have seen because he hasn't
been able to do what it is he can normally do.

Speaker 1 (04:50):
I think that the Colts kept this from everybody. Am
I right? Am I wrong? Am I going too far?

Speaker 3 (04:55):
Well?

Speaker 5 (04:56):
Listen, I think your opinions your opinion, because it's not
like the Colts speak volume in descriptions of the word
transparency in our existence, Tony. So yeah, you're not completely
off base on any of it. May not be completely
accurate on some of it, but you're not off base
on it.

Speaker 3 (05:11):
Now.

Speaker 5 (05:11):
I just think this shows you the type of dire
straits this team is at that position right now. You
and I were kind of talking about, you know, the
old War Games reference, you know, def con onon things
like that yesterday at this present time, and I think
it's even worse than that when you're calling up a
forty fo year old grandfather to come in, and I
think the huge connection here, this is really hilarious, Tony.

(05:31):
Had he stayed and this was a part of the
Colt's operation that was a failure again that we rarely
speak about. Had he stayed for season number two. Remember
he was here twenty twenty. They had a nice season,
go to the postseason losing Buffalo, but they felt he
was going to be here in twenty twenty one, so
they kind of put their eggs in that particular basket.

(05:52):
Then he bailed, didn't want to play any longer, and
then that continued the slide to Carson Wentz to Carson
Wentz to Matt Ryan and so on and so forth.
So he was a significant part of what has been
this whole quarterback carousel from hell here and he could
have helped save it back in twenty twenty one, but
he decided to retire. So I think that's hilarious as

(06:15):
a part of all this, But what it really does
is speak volumes of how incredibly screwed this team and
that position is moving forward, especially for a playoff team,
a team that's still in contention, you know, numbers wise
for the postseason.

Speaker 3 (06:29):
You can't be more screwed than this.

Speaker 2 (06:31):
Now, first, I accept your point, unballared past performance may
not be indicative of the future, and maybe everybody was
on the up and up. I just have very little
faith imballied as a GM. He's got other things he
might do very very well. I think this has been
a colossal failure. But the idea that it's Philip Rivers,

(06:55):
and I'm nothing against Philip Rivers.

Speaker 1 (06:56):
I think it would be fun to see.

Speaker 2 (06:58):
I'm pretty sure he could still throw the guys a
trash talker all the rest. I think you can fire
up a team that seems deflated. But we're saying that
there quite literally is nobody.

Speaker 1 (07:08):
Else out there.

Speaker 2 (07:09):
I mean, if we're gonna talk about Philip Rivers, we
might well be talking about Johnny Manziel. Once you've opened
the floodgates, everything is possible. There's nobody else out there,
and there's no faith. Clearly Leonard has an issue and
there's no faith in ripping. Who should the Colts be
looking to right now?

Speaker 3 (07:29):
No, that's well.

Speaker 5 (07:30):
I think that the concentration should be on Ripping. But
here's the funny part about Dodd. He has to Philip
Passage twenty twenty three. That's who they have on the
practice squad that they haven't brought up that they're probably
going to have to bring up obviously considering Riley Leonards circumstances.
You know, unless they get Uncle Phil, you know, down
from retirement and all of a sudden put him through
the process. This is the thing that's on field. Operationally speaking,

(07:51):
Tony's going to stand up to me. They could not
protect and I'm talking to head coach and the play
calling and the offensive line and their operation. They could
not protect a clearly compromised with a fibula injury quarterback.
So how are you going to protect a guy that
you couldn't protect back in twenty twenty? Really it was
the quick rhythm, the quick release, got away the ball.

(08:13):
I mean, you're going to have to really adjust so
many things that you couldn't adjust with the compromise and
an injured Daniel Jones.

Speaker 3 (08:20):
So how would this possibly work?

Speaker 5 (08:21):
I think it's all good conversationally for dialogue, but really, truly.

Speaker 3 (08:25):
It is stratospherically embarrassing, is what it is.

Speaker 1 (08:29):
So fine, it's stratospherically embarrassing.

Speaker 2 (08:31):
Yeah, the problem is the Colts have to put out
a product on Sunday, So what should they.

Speaker 1 (08:37):
Do to me?

Speaker 3 (08:39):
I think it's going to be Brett Rippon.

Speaker 5 (08:41):
If you're gonna put me on the spot right now,
which I think you are, Brett Rippon is going to
come from the practice squad and he's going to be
the quarterback. I don't think we're going to see Anthony
Richardson again this season, and not so much because they
don't trust him, but he does want to play. It's
because he's on IR and that injury to his eye socket,
as you mentioned, the lack of transparency, injury to the
eye socket was much more severe than I think anybody

(09:03):
around here believes. And Tony, here's one for you. Ready
for this one? You want to know what's going to
happen next year? Are you ready, Tony?

Speaker 3 (09:10):
Buckle up. We're going to see the same.

Speaker 5 (09:12):
Three quarterbacks next year. Yes, right here, we're going to see.

Speaker 3 (09:15):
The same three.

Speaker 5 (09:16):
They're going to resign Daniel Jones, they're going to have
Riley Leonard as a part of this, and you're going
to have Anthony Richardson, who still got a year remaining
on his deal here too. Again, if you're asking me
right now, that's what we're going to see. That's again
how bad it is. But I did want to remark
about your thoughts. The lack of pransparency is something that
the cults are going to have to own forever because

(09:37):
that's what they have been and they've tried to fix that,
but they haven't fixed that enough. And people around here
are always going to believe that they're not getting the
truth because of the entire Luck era and what we've
been through. And I think that's just common knowledge and
the way that it's going to be until further notice.

Speaker 2 (09:52):
I'm looking at talking to JMV, the Voice of Sports
in Indiana, the best quarterback free agents still out there?

Speaker 3 (09:59):
Yah?

Speaker 1 (10:00):
And I don't even know.

Speaker 2 (10:00):
If I don't know the list, you might Nate Sudfet
and Taylor Heineke, Clayton Tune, Dorian Thompson, Robinson, Tim Boyle,
Bryce Perkins, Logan Woodside.

Speaker 1 (10:12):
Desmond Ritter.

Speaker 2 (10:13):
At what moment are the cults so desperate, John V
that they look now the name of Colin Kaepernick.

Speaker 3 (10:22):
Never? Well, I mean, I don't even know.

Speaker 2 (10:24):
If you say I don't want it, I'm only asking
because when desperate, desperate things.

Speaker 5 (10:30):
Happen, it is it is never Taylor hidek by the way,
the only the only team that he's really good against
would actually be the Colts and their defense. He had
a good game like years ago against the Colts inside.

Speaker 3 (10:41):
Lucas Oil Stadium.

Speaker 5 (10:42):
Here's what's even more frightening, because they don't have any options,
they don't have any money, they don't have any first
round picks. Look at the free agency class of quarterbacks
next year and then get back with me on that.
That's why I'm talking about bringing back these three because
the ones that are out there right now, they're going
to be available for the Colts, are not any better
than this three. This is the purgatory Tony, that this team,

(11:03):
this franchise, this organization is in right now, and then
moving forward.

Speaker 3 (11:08):
This is just kind of a precursor. This is an appetizer.

Speaker 5 (11:11):
The main course is still to come because this is
going to be long lasting. This has been an absolute disaster,
and this is just kind of the opening at the funny.

Speaker 3 (11:22):
Portion of it.

Speaker 5 (11:23):
In inviting a forty four year old former quarterback, future
Hall of Fame quarterback grandfather and to try out for
a game you're playing in Seattle coming up on Sunday,
doesn't get much more hilarious than that, Tony.

Speaker 3 (11:35):
It just doesn't.

Speaker 2 (11:37):
That Right there, is JMV. With no good news for
you whatsoever? Is all right, buddy sports in Indiana. He
is also a downer. He's JMV.

Speaker 3 (11:49):
Well sarpal.

Speaker 1 (11:53):
The way it goes. Appreciate you man. And then.

Speaker 2 (11:58):
We know that the Colts have got themselves a problem.
Daniel Jones has surgery for the achilles. Riley Leonard is injured.
There is clearly no faith in Brett Rippon, so they're
looking to Philip Rivers to.

Speaker 1 (12:21):
Come in.

Speaker 2 (12:22):
They're gonna test out Philip Rivers and see if he
can come back and still play. I think we're missing
a moment and I have nothing against Philip Rivers, and
if he could do it, oh that'd be awesome. There
are no quarterbacks out there. There are no quarterbacks out there.
So I decided to write a letter because we were

(12:43):
in desperate times and it's on Twitter X if you
follow me there, I read it to you now, good sir,
Captain Andrew Luck. Hard times have descended on our glory
is cults our leader, A decent man named Daniel has

(13:04):
fallen to tragic means. His young lieutenant, a good person
indeed by the name of Riley, seemingly has a case
of gout in the knee. Glory can shine upon our
proud people those who cheer us on. But we cannot
continue in this clear shambles. Good Sir, we have begun

(13:30):
the search for leadership. We look to those of long
age who have moved to the farms for a quieter life,
begging them for their advanced knowledge to ensure for us
in our loved ones, the chance at.

Speaker 1 (13:43):
Victory and immortality. Captain Luck, can we look to you.

Speaker 2 (13:50):
To place upon your shoulders the pads and the people
to place upon your crown the helmets. Captain Andrew Luck,
can we look to you for the shoe? We have

(14:10):
a stew over the coals to warm you upon your arrivals,
and the tenderloins are only a drop of oil away
from perfection.

Speaker 1 (14:19):
We beg of you, Captain Andrew.

Speaker 2 (14:22):
Luck, answer the call and bring our cults to victory.
I don't know if the message has reached California, but
we can hope
