Jero es fundador de Pelagic Life, una organización sin fines de lucro dedicada a proteger la mega fauna marina en el mar abierto Mexicano a través de la concientización con imágenes que inspiran, ecoturismo para reemplazar la pesca, y promover el consumo sustentable.
En 2014, Pelagic Life sacó el galardonado documental México Pelágico, el cual fue dirigido por Jero.
Jero también es ingeniero y tiene un MBA por la Northwestern Kellogg School of Business, además de ser esposo y papá.
