Communicating with the Dead

Necromancy, communicating with the dead, is forbidden by God. Most Christians realize this, and would not try to do such a thing as receiving messages from the realm of the dead. But when we feed the flesh,and/or listen to communication from the world isn't that like communicating with the dead, spiritually speaking?
