(00:11):
We're gonna have a living room conversation.
So here's the rules of engagement.
I need everybody to takenotes, whether it's digitally on
your phone or physically in a notepad.
How many of you are notetakersand learners?
And.
Okay, so I need you to takenotes because you're gonna be given
so much wisdom.
And then also I need you tojust lock in.
(00:31):
Tell your neighbor.
Lock in now.
Tell the other neighbor you ignored.
Lock in.
Okay, Lock in.
This is gonna help you tremendously.
And let me just say the littlebackstory here.
So you basically startedattending V1 church, and I started
(00:52):
to become aware that you havemany different giftings.
One of them is in the area of finances.
And you started to basicallyget commissioned to go help the people
of our church with budgetingand with finances and biblical principles.
As a matter of fact, we werepreparing for this Sunday, and I
was talking to our entirestaff across the nation, and one
(01:14):
of them literally said, pastorMike, I don't wanna cut you off,
but I just have to tell youhow excited I am for Pastor Randall
to be on stage.
Because she said.
And she's on staff in Indiana.
So this is 1,000 miles away atour Indiana location.
She said, my husband and I hadbeen working careers and making money
for years and years and years, but we were always in bondage.
(01:36):
We had debt.
It just felt like we never hadenough money.
And they went through yourcourse through V1 Church, and you
discipled them.
And she said that theyexperienced massive breakthrough
in their finances.
And then she said, we keptgetting so many raises and so many
increases in our finances thatwe had to keep increasing our tithe
(01:57):
to the local church.
And she attributed it to theanointing and the gifting and the
wisdom of this man.
So how many of you are saying,I'm next.
I'm next.
I'm next.
Come on.
I'm next.
Here in Brooklyn, they'relike, I'm next, Lord.
And so, Pastor Randall, thequestion I wanna ask you just to
(02:17):
jump this thing off, is you'vesat with, I mean, probably hundreds
of people of our church acrossall locations, and, you know, I feel
like showing somebody yourfinances is like getting naked in
front of each other.
It's like going into thelocker room, you know, it's like,
you know.
Cause that's something youdon't do.
(02:39):
Was that weird?
But seriously, I mean, finances are just.
It's something where it's,like, ambiguous and you don't know.
And it's.
You know, how fat is Pastor Mike?
You Know, like, I know hewears a lot of jackets.
You know, it's like financesfeel like that.
You know, I think he has money.
(03:00):
I think I saw, you know, a watch.
I think I saw.
Look.
And we always try to pick upon the clues of what could be underneath
the clothes.
And so, in the same way, youare one of the few people where you
have legitimately seenhundreds of people's bank accounts
and their finances, and youhave a lot of.
So the first question I wantto ask you as we get into this biblical
(03:23):
wisdom is what are the top excuses?
Or, okay, let me keep it a buck.
What are the top lies thatpeople tell you when you meet with
them?
I'll tell you this.
Well, first of all, I want tosay thank you, Apostle Mike, for
just.
We have one of the bestleaders ever for this semester in
(03:45):
our lives.
Like, y'all need to clap it uphigher than that.
Like, come on.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Just going to say it because Iam the man that I am.
My wife is the woman that she is.
Many of us, many of you thatare watching that are online, that
are sitting right here, youare who you are because of this man
toiling, because of the nightswhere he was probably not laying
(04:09):
next to Pastor Julie, who is aphenomenal woman of God as well.
Right?
But then he was actuallypraying, right?
He was actually figuring outsome things for us.
And I just want to thank youso much for being the man of God
that you are.
And if you're not who you wantto be just yet, that's on you.
I'm just going to say, allright, I'm going to leave.
(04:32):
I'm going to leave here in alittle while, so if I mess things
up, Pastor Jocelyn and PastorEddie could figure it out.
But one of the excuses.
Can I just give you one?
Because the one.
I'll tell you this, the oneexcuse that I hear, and I think many
of us can say this, is, Idon't have enough money.
(04:54):
I don't have enough.
I need another job becauseit's just not paying me enough.
I need to find another sidehustle, because this job right here
just isn't enough.
And when I go into yourfinances and when I've gone into
the multiple people'sfinances, I will see that there is
(05:15):
more than enough.
And I'll tell you how I knowthis, because I've actually, me,
myself, I remember my wife andI, we were.
When we first started gettingour finances in order, I remember
calling her up one day becauseI was just like, man, why does it.
I'm making 60,000.
She's making a lot more thanme and stuff like that.
And that was a.
I went through a deliverancefor that.
(05:36):
Because, you know, as.
As.
Listen, men do not.
Men that are watching.
If you're in Miami, okay, I'mcoming for you.
Miami, all right?
Wherever you are, I want youto know your wife making more than
you should not make you feel belittled.
You are all bringing in money together.
(05:56):
And so at the end of the day,the money is coming into one pot.
And if you're over herefussing and figuring out what other
job can I get, so that way Ican make more than her, and this
might be a secret thing thatyou're dealing with, well, I want
to let you know that that isnot a secret anymore.
I see you, and I want to callyou up to stop focusing on that and
(06:16):
focus on the money that'sactually coming in.
And then you'll realize thatthere is more than enough.
All right?
But anyway, that wasn't whereI was supposed to go, but it was
necessary.
All right?
But I will go through people'sfinances, and I'll see that there's
more than enough.
And I remember looking at myfinances, and I was like.
I called my wife up.
(06:37):
I was like, mary, Babe, we aremaking enough to pay off all our
expenses.
Then we have an extra $2,000left every month.
She's like, what?
I was like, yeah, where is it going?
And we had no idea where thatmoney was going.
(06:58):
No idea.
And that's where I was justlike, I've got to get better with
my finances.
And in a couple, like, year.
I think a year or two later, Istarted to talk to you about, like,
my passion for just wanting tosee the people of God just free in
their finances.
So I think the number onething is, you know, like, I have
more than enough.
(07:18):
I don't have more than enough.
Have you said that?
Raise your hand.
Don't do it.
Don't do it.
Don't do it.
I was just joking.
I was just joking.
Well, here's the wisdom keyfor you.
Without a budget, you'll neverhave enough money.
Without a budget, you'll neverhave enough money.
Now I'm gonna get realvulnerable with you guys.
And, you know, this is whatthis conversation is about, because
(07:40):
that you just dropped so muchwisdom is oftentimes we make excuses.
I don't have enough.
I don't have enough.
But we're buying things thatwe can't afford out of and we're
buying things out of season.
So it might be the wrong caror it might be the right car for
the wrong year.
Let me say it again, becausemy wife just sent me a picture of
(08:03):
our Kia Sportage gettingloaded up on the back of a flatbed
as they were towing thatsucker away.
And we basically raised anEntire family for 15 years almost
on that one Kia Sportage.
Am I right?
12.
Okay, she ain't giving methose three years.
12.
But let me tell you why I wasashamed of that Kia Sportage.
(08:28):
As a testosterone driven, bearded, bald headed, hairy Italian
male, the idea of driving aKia Sportage was emasculating to
me because my vehicle, I'mjust cannot.
How real can I be?
Cause these are money talks.
Welcome to the living room.
We're gonna get into the word.
Let me just tell you.
It was emasculating becausebefore that I had a truck.
(08:50):
Now in Indiana, we have astarter pack for men.
You get a shotgun and you geta truck and you put the shotgun in
the truck and you just waitfor the day of full cross.
Okay?
Nevermind, Lord, please.
And so to go from that truckto a Kia Sportage was embarrassing
and emasculating.
But let me tell you, I wasgoing from glory to glory.
(09:13):
And actually what washappening was I couldn't have a car
payment because the Lord hadcalled me into that next season and
he asked me to do some thingsand I had to sacrifice temporarily
so that I could step into my destiny.
And so the thing is, now Ihave a vehicle, a new vehicle.
(09:34):
But also it serves a purposein this season.
Cause it's a large vehicle.
I host many people from aroundthe world, I drive them all around.
And that vehicle serves apurpose in this season.
So I believe I was alwaysgoing to have that vehicle.
But the question is, when?
So it's like, are you willingto not have a car payment for enough
(09:55):
years so that when you getthat car payment, it doesn't destroy
you?
Because the thing about thisis, man, I just gotta help y'all.
Did you know that you can takeyour car with payments back to the
dealer and give it back to them?
Because what happens is someof you guys are saying, God, why
(10:16):
have you forsaken me?
And the Lord is saying, daughter, why did you spend your
money like that?
I did.
Bless you.
But you didn't do the rightthing with the blessing.
Okay, we're going to get realnaked spiritually for half of the
(10:40):
duration of time that I'vebeen the lead pastor of this Church
let me slow it down for halfof the duration of time that I've
been the lead pastor of thischurch in order to get this thing
off the ground.
I lived so sacrificially thatI lived off of $50,000 a year with
a family of four in New York City.
And that might be shocking to you.
(11:00):
How did you do that?
It's not.
How?
Why?
Because I had a vision biggerthan me.
And first thing I did was Ifound an apartment in Queens where
it was $2,000 a month for a600 square foot apartment with all
utilities included.
And some of you in the roomhere in the city, they're like, let
(11:20):
me talk to your realtor.
That ain't that bad.
Am I right?
Isn't that pretty good?
2,000amonth, all utility.
And I was just running that water.
I was plugging everything in.
You get a device, you get anoutlet, we all get it, plug everything
in.
But it was 600 square foot,$2,000 a month, all utilities included.
(11:41):
And I had the Kia Sportage.
No car payment, and I made$50,000 a year.
Now, my board of directorssaid, we don't want you getting a
side hustle because the churchhas to be the main thing in order
to succeed.
And we need you to go all in.
And we found out throughJulie's doctor.
Cause she had a doctor at thetime, and she found out about our
(12:02):
situation and she said, yeah, there's this thing in New York City
where they take Whole Foodsand Trader Joe's groceries and redistribute
them through an organizationcalled Food Not Bombs.
So I was supplementing mygroceries with Food Not Bombs.
I had a used car and I livedin a 600 square foot apartment.
And we budgeted our money andwe were able to survive for half
(12:25):
of the duration of the entireexistence of this church because
I was reinvesting whatevermoney I could pay myself into the
church to launch campuses andget the vision to come to pass.
So I think what happens isit's like you have to be willing
to.
You can't have both.
Like, there's some seasonswhere you can't have both.
(12:46):
And I know if you're takingnotes, there's wisdom and saying,
God, I believe I'm gonna get there.
But there's.
And so for you, you've beenwilling to go through that season.
What does that look like for you?
Cause I feel like right nowyour life is sort of demonstrating
this.
You may have a vehicle thatyou park down the street.
Yeah, you're actually Right.
(13:06):
I actually did.
I actually did.
So I have two vehicles, bothof them, no payments, so they're
all mine or whatever.
And one of the vehiclesactually have not been in commission
for months now.
Like, I mean, almost a year, because we didn't have enough to
(13:27):
make the payments to get it fixed.
And as a matter of fact, whatended up happening was our.
What's his name?
Mechanic.
The mechanic was like, hey,you might as well just throw this
away, get a new car.
Don't worry about it.
And it's funny how otherpeople want to tell you what to do
with your finances when theyhave no idea what your finances look
like.
You know, you'll look at meright now and be like, oh, he's good.
(13:48):
No, but my car's parked downthe street around the corner.
Because at the end of the day,I don't want you asking, hey, Pastor,
can I give you a walk to your car?
Nah, it's okay.
Let's talk right here.
All right.
We could talk right here, orcan I get a ride?
No, I'm not going to be liable if.
If my car breaks down and thenyou're like, man, I don't even know
where I'm at.
I don't know where to go now.
I got to pay an Uber ride for you.
(14:08):
Now, we're not doing all of that.
All right?
We're not doing all of that.
But let me tell you what'sfunny while y'all are laughing.
He has two cars with nopayments, but he's a homeowner.
And one of them's a liability, and one of them is an asset.
And you got people who don'town a home but have car payments,
so they have a liability butno asset.
(14:29):
So it's like when you talkabout wealth building, when you talk
about finances.
He said, I'll prioritize mylife in such a way where I get the
asset, and then even thoughthe liability, I'm gonna have to
park it around the corner.
Cause I don't want you seeingmy van.
Right?
And so that.
But what happens is.
And women, single women, don'tbe impressed by the car that he picks
(14:53):
you up in, because he mighthave peeled those rental stickers
off of it before he got to.
You don't show.
In other words, don't show me liability.
Show me assets.
And where we've gone wrong inthe body of Christ is we haven't
taught assets.
We haven't fought to build wealth.
And so we need to normalize.
(15:14):
Show me your crusty car.
Show me the thing, becausethat's the proof that Randall is
like, hey, this house isappreciating in value, but a brand
new car depreciates in valueas soon as you drive it off the lot.
And so I think what God wantsto shift you into is the Bible says
that the borrower is a slaveto the lender.
(15:36):
And so I believe that slaveryis gonna be broken because you're
gonna take cars back.
As a matter of fact, one of myfavorite tricks I used to do is I
would go to the dealership andI would say, show me the lot with
the cars for the trade ins.
And I would literally buy cars cash.
And Julia remembers this.
Every single car I would buy cash.
(15:57):
And I would pick from all thecars on the trade ins which one was
the best one.
And knowing that those guyswere not gonna make any more money
off those cars and they weregonna send them to auction, and I
would make.
And I would give that guy onelast opportunity to make money on
that trade in.
And I did things like that for years.
Why?
Because I'm much moreinterested in buying assets than
(16:18):
I am liabilities.
And so I think what happens iswe have the wrong value system.
And so for some of you, youjust did what culture taught you
to do or what your friends sawyou do.
And I really believe that as achurch, okay, can we keep getting
vulnerable?
Cause it's getting real quiet here.
As a church.
(16:39):
We can become the people thatsay, I give God financially what's
best and what's first.
And I'm never gonna tell God Ican't tithe, but I already have a
budget for a car that Itechnically can't afford or for an
apartment I can't afford.
And so I think when Julie andI got here, you know, people were
like, you're never.
(17:00):
You don't know New York City.
It's so expensive.
I said, no, I don't know NewYork City, but I know the ways of
the kingdom.
Seek first the kingdom, andall these things will be added unto
you.
And favor would begin to open up.
As a matter of fact, we hadthe 600 square foot apartment, and
then favor opened up.
And this is how I got thebigger apartment that ended up having
(17:23):
three bedrooms, man.
For those of us in New YorkCity, we know there ain't no three
bedroom apartments.
There was a three bedroomapartment, and I went to go see about
it and off of like FacebookMarketplace, where I thought, maybe
I'm gonna get murdered goingto see this.
And so I go in this place andI'm looking around and in my heart
I'm saying, oh, Lord, pleaselet me get this apartment.
(17:46):
And it was for the same price,a little bit more, maybe a couple
hundred dollars more than theother one, which is also crazy.
And it was so cheap.
Cause I'm looking at how cheapthis apartment is and.
And I saw it on Facebook,Marketplace, and I'm thinking, well,
I'm probably gonna getstabbed, but I am kind of gangster
myself, so let's see who wins.
And then maybe I'll get an apartment.
(18:07):
You know what I'm talking about?
New York City.
Am I gonna get scammed?
So I show up and this womananswers the door, and I'm like, oh,
she's the decoy.
Probably someone else will dothe stabbing.
Cause you know, you gotta behood smart out here.
And I get up into theapartment I'm looking at in my heart,
I'm like, oh, Lord, my familycould use this.
(18:28):
Cause that apartment was soteeny tiny.
The last one.
And then I said, well, let meask you a question.
Why is it so cheap?
What's wrong with this?
And she said, I'm kind ofembarrassed to say.
Cause this isn't really.
What I'm about to say is not,you know, it's not like, right.
But this is how I feel.
And she was like, my familyand I, we live downstairs and I'm
(18:50):
a Christian, and I really wanta Christian family to live in this
apartment.
And I said, like, think aboutwhat I just said.
The New Yorker in Indiana, like, I don't understand because.
But I'm telling you, this is a miracle.
And I said, well, I don't knowif you know this, but I'm a super
Christian.
(19:11):
And I literally was like, wehave a card that we get.
And I'm like, I'm a super Christian.
I said, I'm a pastor of a two.
At the time it was two Location.
I'm a pastor of a two location church.
And she literally, her eyeswelled up with tears.
And we were able to move intothat apartment and we upgraded our
(19:32):
square footage, as a matter offact, that husband and wife still
text Julie and I to this day,and they'll say, if you guys ever
want to move back, we love.
Because they said the presenceof God was so strong on our family.
They miss having us in that space.
And so we just.
I don't have time to tell youall the stories, but the thing is,
(19:54):
my tithe was opening up thewindows of heaven to bless me and
make me the exception to the rules.
So there's the economy of NewYork City, but I didn't pay New York
City rent because the kingdomwas in operation.
I became the exceptioneverywhere I went.
And so the thing is, but whathappens is you have to take the US
(20:15):
dollar and remove it from theUS infrastructure and put it into
the kingdom.
And once it goes into adifferent circulation, you get a
different outcome.
Come on, come on, come on.
So, Randall, you understandthese things.
You know, how do we trust God though?
Because I think you're such aman of faith, and it's like, I think
people are making fear baseddecisions and you're such a man of
(20:39):
faith.
Like, I've watched you buyreal estate.
I've watched you step intothis next seat.
I watched you pay off debt.
But that requires faith.
And you talk about this a lotin your teachings about the why,
you know, which is connectedto faith.
Can you maybe help themunderstand that?
So to do that, I'm gonnadecode what Apostle Mike just said.
(21:00):
Right?
So he was in a 600 footapartment, a 600 square foot apartment.
Then he got into a threebedroom apartment.
Right?
And I went to every one ofyour apartments too, I think.
Yeah, I was stalking him, unfortunately.
Listen, when somebody gotsomething good, you need to find
out like, you know, what is itthat they got?
(21:21):
So every single apartment, Iwas just like, all right, what's
up?
How you doing?
Tell me this, tell me that.
But what you mentioned wasthere was favor in your life.
And you said something lastweek or two weeks ago that favor
is not fair.
And, and the reason whyfavor's not fair is because you're
(21:42):
doing something, or at leastwe should be doing something that
no one else is willing to do,which is to give our tithe into the
storehouse so that I may testme in this, so that I may bless you
so I may open up the windowsof heaven so that blessings can pour
out of.
I want that type of blessingto the point where Facebook Marketplace
(22:05):
will open up.
And I've gotten some things onFacebook Marketplace.
Actually, my first apartmentwhere I lived when I, when Pastor
Mary and I got.
Got married, we got it fromCraigslist and we actually.
To the point where the gentleman.
It was in a beautiful.
It was in Fresh Meadows.
Anybody knows Fresh Meadows.
Like, it's a beautiful areaand it was a condo.
(22:27):
This firefighter lived thereand he was, he was going to do something
or whatever, and he was like, hey, I need someone to stay in here
in, and that's gonna take careof my space.
I had Speakers in the walls.
I turn on the music in theliving room, I hear it in the bathroom.
I was like, man.
And I could put the volumedown in the bathroom so I don't listen
to it.
I was like, this is nice, right?
(22:49):
And so it was a one bedroomapartment, just perfect for Mary
and I until two weeks later wegot pregnant.
But anyway, sorry, hallelujah.
Putting out all her business.
But, but, but then, but thenwhat, what.
What was crazy was that ourfinances and our credit score at
(23:10):
the time did not.
Two, two kids coming fromtheir parents house, you know, were
living off, you know, just offof, off of our parents and, and everything
this.
When, when you went, when hewent to the condo, the board of directors
for the condominium, they werelike, hey, they can't take care of
this.
How are they going to takecare of this?
(23:31):
He looked them in the face andsaid, I want these people in my house.
So in other words saying, hey,you can't control what I want for
my home.
And so I want these people inmy house.
That's who I'm going to havestay in my house.
So I'm going to vouch for them.
This guy didn't know me from anywhere.
And just like this womandidn't know you from anywhere.
(23:52):
But then you went in ready tostab her.
I'm sorry, that's not what.
Ready to be stabbed.
Let's get the narrative right.
If anything, it would havebeen self defense.
Well, you know, New York City, you don't really know, right?
You sound like my middleschool students.
But it was self defense though.
That's what happens.
(24:12):
I hit him second because itwas self defense.
But.
No but.
Ready to be stabbed.
Excuse me.
Right, but this woman waspraying for a blessing.
She got favor.
Right, but then you got favorbecause your finances were in order.
You made sure you put at thetop of that budget line item that
(24:33):
you put tides first.
Because that's one of thethings when I'm speaking to people,
I say, hey, make sure that youhave tithes as the number one thing
you do.
Just so you could train yourmind to understand that if anything
else happens, my tithes aregoing to get paid, my tithes are
gonna get given to thestorehouse and I'm going to trust
in what God is doing andeverything else will be taken care
(24:55):
of.
We just came from a reallylike shaky season.
Just this past like a coupleof like about a year or so.
And we didn't know what wasgoing to like if certain things were
going to get taken care Of.
But there are times where wewould look at the finances, and then
(25:16):
at the end of the month, we'dbe like, how did we cover everything?
I'm telling you, God willextend your finances.
Miracles will take place justthe same way.
When Jesus saw that that kidhad his lunch.
Food, right?
His lunch, his bread and fish, and he had 5,000 people in front
(25:37):
of him.
And then he gave it up to Godand said, hey, God, I need you to
do a thing.
And then he fed all 5,000 people.
That's the same way when youhave a $5,000 bill or you have all
this debt, or you have allthese bills that need to be paid.
Utilities, electricity.
Not Apostle Mike, because hewas living in a all paid.
(25:59):
That was all taken care ofright back then.
Now you're paying your ownbills right now.
I'm like, turn the light off.
But the same way, what happened?
First he saw the source ofwhere the item was coming from, the
(26:19):
food was coming from.
In that moment, your job, yourbusiness, or whatever it is.
But then you have all of thesebills that are there, but there's
something that has to go inbetween the source and the expenses,
and that's your tithe.
And when the tithe goes there, and you can't do that unless you
steward your finances well, unless you have a budget, unless
(26:40):
you know what's going to happen.
Or else you'll be like, PastorMary and I, and be like, hey, I got.
There's $2,000 that areunaccounted for.
Where did it go?
Man, this is so good.
I want to read something toyou briefly, because I was thinking
about Proverbs, Chapter three.
And the reason why we'rehaving this conversation is because
(27:01):
many of us were not parentedin this way.
The truth is, this is aconversation from a father to his
children, and that's whatshould happen.
I never had one conversationwith my father about finances my
entire life.
And so I used to love readingthe book of Proverbs as a young man,
(27:22):
because as a young man, whenever it would say, son, I would
receive the love of myheavenly Father.
And so I wanna.
The reason why we sat down isbecause you're a father to New Jersey,
as you're stewarding thatcampus, and I'm fathering the nations,
as I'm serving as apostolic oversight.
(27:42):
And we set this living roomconversation up because this is God
going back into your past, andI'm in the living room of your childhood.
And right now, God is makingsome things right that were never
made right.
Because the truth is youshould have had this money conversation
when you were about 10, 11, 12years old, daughter.
(28:05):
This is what the Lord says.
And did you know that withinJudaism, this is very normal?
They have a bar mitzvah whenthey're 13 years old.
Now, part of that historicallyis that human beings would die much
earlier.
And so 13 was about thattransition of going fully into puberty.
And there had to be anacknowledgement of, you are a man
(28:25):
now, and we're gonna comearound you and treat you as such.
So what happens is we have anera of delayed adolescence.
So what that means is we have35 year old boys because no one told
them at 13, you're a man now.
And so what we're doing is I'msaying you're a man now.
And I want as a son of V1 Church.
(28:48):
And I don't care if you're a70 year old son, a 45 year old son,
or whether you're a 20 yearold son.
We're gonna talk about yourfinances and then there's gonna be
peace over you.
So let me read this scriptureto you.
That's gonna help you, my son.
This is verse 21 in the thirdchapter of Proverbs, my son.
(29:09):
And this is the Lord talkingto you.
Do not lose sight of these.
Keep sound wisdom anddiscretion, and they will be life
for your soul.
Everybody say, my soul andadornment for your neck.
Now let's talk about thedifference between wisdom and discretion.
(29:29):
Let's all say the word discretion.
Okay, so here's the definitionof discretion in a functional sense
as it relates to finances.
There's two ways to get food.
How you get food is determinedby how you deploy discretion.
So one way is Uber Eats.
(29:50):
That's a way to get food.
They'll bring it to your doorand sometimes fast.
Here in New York City, as amatter of fact, depending on how
hungry you are, you can sortby how fast it gets to your house.
Y'all know, come on, I'm an expert.
I play UberEats like a video game.
That little guy's on the bike,on the scooter, on the car.
(30:11):
I'm seeing her, you know, he'sgoing around the corner.
Come on, come on.
Waiting for him at the door.
Some of y'all don't even waitfor your own spouse at the door,
but you're waiting for theUberEats guy.
My beloved, thank you forbringing me this food.
That's a side note, Julie.
(30:32):
Anyways, so here's.
Here's my point.
You can get a steak and itcost you 300% more because you did
it through Uber Eats.
Or you can get that same steakfor seven to nine dollars at the
local grocery store and makeit yourself.
(30:53):
So discretion is, I can getthis via Uber Eats, or I can get
it 300% off.
And it's funny how we shop forclothes different than we shop for
food because we'll pay 300%more for food for convenience.
But then if I tell you, hey, that clothing item is 300% off, you're
(31:14):
falling over yourself runningto the clearance rack to get it.
If you bought food like youbought clothes, you'd have more money.
But that's the word discretion.
Now watch what the scriptures say.
Cause I'm breaking this downfor you.
Take notes, Jules.
This is what it says.
If you use sound wisdom anddiscretion, they will be life for
(31:35):
your soul.
Thessalonians says that yoursoul is your mind, your will and
your emotions.
So if you wanna bring life toyour emotions, use discretion.
If you wanna bring life toyour mind, use discretion.
If you wanna bring life toyour will, use discretion.
So in other words, when you'recooking a seven dollar steak, instead
(31:56):
of buying that same steak for$100, you're actually not just saving
money, but the scriptures saythat you are bringing life to your
emotions.
Did that help you?
You're bringing life to your mind.
Then let me tell you why.
Because what happens when youspend money the wrong way is it's
you're exchanging temporarypleasure for long term torment.
(32:23):
You're exchanging, you'resaying, temporarily I feel better,
but over the long haul I'm tormented.
And if you budget yourcalories like you budget your money,
your body and your bankaccount is suffering.
So the Lord.
I'm learning this.
In the last six weeks, I wentfrom £225 to 205.
(32:47):
So I lost £20 in the last sixweeks right in front of you.
And yeah, keep clappingbecause I need the encouragement
because I panicked.
I didn't bring my food tochurch today.
And I called Julie.
I was like, I have an emergency.
She's like, what's going on?
I was like, I don't have myfood cause I'm about to make, I'm
about to mess up.
(33:07):
They put six bagels in thisgreen room and they're talking to
me.
The bagels are like, hello, Kevin.
But the reason why I say thatis because I didn't budget my calories
and I began to eat in surplusand it physically made me unhealthy.
(33:27):
And when you spend in surplusand don't count your finances like
you count your salaries, youend up going over budget.
So right now, I'm setting thisman of God up for the most powerful
moment of this entire message.
I want you to give them now.
Cause I gave him the why Igave them what's at stake.
But you have an understandinghow to build a house in wisdom, from
(33:48):
the foundation to the pillarsto the roof.
And I want you guys to lean inand take notes on this moment, because
he's gonna teach you right nowa formula for how you build your
life, how you build this housefrom the foundation to the pillars
to the roof.
So every.
And just as Apostle Mike justmentioned, every house has a foundation.
(34:09):
There's no way that you'regoing to build any pillars or anything
in order, or else it'll just crumble.
And so when you have thefoundation, the foundation is your
saving.
There's no, like, there'snothing you can do with your finances
that will be sustained.
And our God is a God ofsustenance, like in.
(34:30):
In Genesis chapter one, inevery single day.
That he.
That He.
That he did something new, that he did something great, that
he did something.
He looked at it at the end ofthe day and said, this is good, and
therefore I will sustain it.
That.
That.
That's literally what the word says.
And so when you look at yourfinances, you want to build savings
(34:51):
first.
That is the foundation.
But then you have to put upsome pillars because you need rooms,
you need all these thingsgoing on in the house.
And so the pillars are four things.
This is a basic budget, abasic finance strategy for you.
Transportation pillar number one.
And it doesn't go in any orderor anything but transportation.
(35:13):
Whether it's a Metro card herein New York or it's a car where in
Indiana or Long Island,Because Long island, you guys all
drive.
There's a whole bunch ofparking everywhere.
And then you have utilities, your mortgage, and rent.
And then number four is your food.
(35:36):
You need food to sustain yourself.
You need to get to work tomake some money.
You need some place to restyour head.
So.
And then you also need to puton the lights and things of that
nature.
These are the four things.
Spotify, Netflix.
What else do I have?
Peacock.
What else?
I'm thinking Hulu.
Don't say hbo.
Max.
No, I don't have that becausethat's expensive and rated.
(36:00):
Rated R.
Oh, okay.
Nb.
NBA.
Right.
From my NBA heads.
I don't even know what it's called.
Premium.
YouTube Premium.
Come on, watch my ads.
So just take YouTube.
Come on, help the ministry.
So, like, those things are not necessary.
(36:21):
They're subscriptions.
There's things you would like.
Man, I don't know if I couldsay this.
Say it.
So if you have a big family, everybody get a subscription.
And then get the logins.
Get the logins.
Put it on your.
On your.
Whatever it is, and then share it.
(36:41):
Like, why do you need to have everything?
Like, I'm just saying, like.
Like, come on.
Like, let's live in a community.
Let's live in a community.
This is what we do.
Now.
There's about to be a flightcrew for shared subscriptions.
Watch.
Let's go through the growth journal.
All right, what's your login?
(37:03):
But you know what?
He's joking.
But let me say this.
In the Book of Acts, the earlychurch, they said they shared things
amongst each other.
And one of the things I'vebeen praying for years is, lord,
give us the unity that you seein the Jewish communities.
Because the Jewish communitieshere in Brooklyn, they own huge sections
of New York City.
(37:23):
Why?
Because when one personfigures it out, they all figured
it out.
And they don't compete witheach other.
They celebrate each other.
And I'm gonna talk to myCaucasian friends as the white delegate
of V1 Church, because I grewup, for 20 years, I attended a black
and Hispanic church.
The first Caucasian church Iever attended was for my wife.
(37:47):
And I did not realize that.
What happened was when Istepped into the white world, it
became a question of, who doeshe think he is for having that?
But then when I was growingup, if somebody figures something
out in our church, we wouldsay, teach us.
Show us.
And it was like, if yourpastor or people in leadership began
(38:08):
to get promoted, you wouldcelebrate their promotion because
it would be a sign thatthrough impartation, you're coming
up, too.
And one of the things that I've.
And it's not just a whiteproblem, but it's more prominent
in the white church of whensomebody begins to get success, they
feel that it's their job totear them down.
(38:29):
And when I was growing up, ifsomebody figured something out, one
of the things I loved aboutthe African American community, I
loved about the Latin Americancommunity, was it was like, teach
us.
Let's learn together and let'sall go together.
And I want to bring that intoour house.
And that's what you're sayingis like, hey, guys, Randall is a
homeowner in the Northeast.
(38:50):
Let's figure it out from himso we can own homes too.
You know, Mike is excelling inthe area of media.
Let's join the Creator Academywith Pastor Evan and figure out how
to learn from them.
Let's all come up together.
And I think that that's something.
I want to break that spirit ofcompetition, and I want us to actually,
(39:11):
because watch.
If there's no more Jew, nomore gentile, but there is the body
of Christ, why are we notowning blocks in Brooklyn?
Why are we not owning.
You know what I'm saying?
We've got to break thispoverty mindset.
And I feel like for me, thathas been my heart.
And I love that about you.
So let me make sure I get it.
(39:31):
Your savings is your foundation.
You know, two years before theglobal pandemic, we were in a staff
meeting and the spirit of theliving God spoke to me and said,
tell your staff.
Now, when I say staff, weweren't even paying none of these
people.
They were just volunteer leaders.
I think maybe we're payingMallory to do the kids ministry,
(39:52):
maybe just a couple hundredbucks a month or something.
And we had like stipend salaries.
This was pre pandemic, and wewere having a staff meeting, and
the spirit of the living Godsaid something.
He said to me, mike, somethingcatastrophic is coming.
Tell these people to savetheir money.
And I said it to him.
And for two years, RyanHayward and Mallory, his bride, they
(40:16):
took that word seriously.
How many of you know if youdon't take prophecy seriously, you'll
become a casualty.
And so they took it seriously.
They started saving theirmoney for two years.
And guess what happened twoyears later?
A global pandemic.
And because they honored theman of God and they listened to what
the Lord said to me, actually,Ryan ended up losing his job.
(40:36):
But he was able to bridge thegap before between finding a new
job and their family never suffered.
And I remember him calling me,crying, being like, pastor Mike,
I am so grateful for thatprophecy because we took what you
said seriously.
We saved for two years and wenever even felt it.
And by the way, I thought Ilost my job, but I actually upgraded
to a higher paying job andwe're even better off.
(40:59):
So those were those stories.
But let me just tell you, Ihave a good friend named Joseph Z.
He's a renowned prophet.
I was just recently on histelevision program, and me and him
have both been seeing from Godthat there is a two year window again.
And I believe there's grace again.
So now it's not Mike saying it.
(41:20):
Now that I've Gone up frompastoral realm to apostolic realm.
Now, the new pastor isRandall, and he's telling you, get
the foundation of your savings.
So this has got to beimmediate implementation of save,
save, save, save.
Make sure you build thatfoundation, because I do believe
that we have a window of timeto prosper and to save before what's
(41:46):
next.
How many of you are going tomake it your point to do this, to
build that foundation?
Now, listen, I'm bipartisan, and I'm saying this because I have
to pastor with purity in my pulpit.
I have to speak with puritywith my pulpit.
I got invited to the dnc, andI didn't go.
I got invited to a closed roomsetting with Trump, and I didn't
(42:08):
go because I want every personacross all seven locations of my
church to know that myintegrity cannot be bought.
And when I stand in thispulpit, I stand with purity because
I'll never put the crossunderneath the flag, even though
I love this country.
And I did get invited bySecret Service to go back to the
White House and to do aprayer, walk through that torture
(42:30):
and to pray over the buildingat the end.
And the whole hallway wasfilled with doves, which fulfilled
that sermon that I preachedabout the elephant, the donkey, or
the dove.
And so why do I say this?
Because Trump coming in was agood thing, but also for many people.
And I know my people.
I know the people I'mpastoring across these locations.
Many of them have lost their job.
(42:52):
And some of y'all don't thinkI know you, but I know you.
And I know your SocialSecurity number.
Not really, but sometimes I'lleven hit up the campus pastors.
Tell me about Lisa.
And they're like, how do youknow Lisa?
I'm like, cause I'm alwayswatching because I want to be a good
lead pastor.
And I know that there's peopleeven in our Indiana campus who have
(43:15):
lost their job as a result ofthis transition.
Things happen.
Here's my point.
I love this country.
I pray for our president, butI know that we're in a time of great
transition.
And I believe you'll look backat this and you'll say, randall was
a prophet to my home.
Did I honor the prophet?
And when we go through thefour pillars, transportation is one
(43:38):
of them.
Go take the car back, exchangeit for a used car.
Get that car payment out.
Make something happen.
One of the pillars is whereyou live.
Move somewhere else where therent goes down.
Downsize so that you can live better.
One of the pillars is food.
See if you picked up on whathe was trying to teach you.
(43:59):
Every pillar, there is anopportunity for massive savings which
ransoms that money back.
And so I want to give you thelast word to really minister this
as we come to a close.
Because the Lord, we were inprayer yesterday, and the Lord, I
was like, lord, I don't wantto miss this opportunity.
There's so many lives on the line.
(44:19):
And I heard the word pilfer.
Pilfer.
And I didn't know what thatword meant.
And I looked it up, and then Isent it to Prophet Randall, and I
said, I saw the word pilfer.
And I feel like there's a bigmoment in closing where we're supposed
to break people through andtransform them through prayer and
in this pilfering.
And he literally hit me back, and he was like, apostle Mike, it's
(44:41):
so much crazier than we thought.
There's a scripture in Titusthat talks about pilfering.
So I'm gonna give you the definition.
He's gonna break it down.
Then we're all gonna stand andreceive prayer.
And then next week, I waitedalmost eight years to earn your trust
to preach the message.
That message I'm gonna preachnext week.
(45:03):
I'm debuting a new technologyto teach it that I've never used
before.
And next week is probably oneof the most important sermons I will
have ever preached in thehistory of this church.
But also, how many of you knowthat we're in a fast right now?
We're in a fast that I called, and you have 40 days to go on this
fast.
And I believe that fasting isalso financial, where you say, I'm
(45:26):
gonna restrict in these areas.
So this Thursday night on mychannel, I'm debuting a message that
talks about the five ways thatfasting is spiritual warfare over
your life.
And some of you are doingintermittent fasting where you're
giving up breakfast, some ofyou giving up lunch, some dinner.
And we talked about that last week.
But how many of you are goingto join me this Thursday night at
(45:48):
9pm Eastern for this messageon fasting?
So you can see how fasting isspiritual warfare.
Okay, it's.
And I actually recorded thisvideo when I was very deep into a
fast.
And I waited till, like, theapex of that fast to be fully in
that state.
And I delivered this messageon video and then waited to premiere
it for now.
(46:09):
So this video this Thursdaynight on my channel is going to be
powerful for our entire church.
But, Randall, help usunderstand pilfer, because the definition
of it is to repeatedly stealsmall amounts without violence.
You know, and when you readTitus, chapter 2, and you could write
that down, Titus, chapter 2,9, 10, it says, Bondservants are
(46:34):
to be submissive to their ownmasters in everything.
They are to be well, pleasing, not argumentative, not pilfering,
but showing all good faith sothat in everything.
In everything, they may adornthe doctrine of God our Savior.
Our duty is to adorn the wordof God.
(46:57):
The Word of God says that give.
Give all your tithes to the storehouse.
Storehouse.
Bring your first fruit to the storehouse.
Malachi, chapter two, right?
And it says from 10 to 13.
And then it goes on to say, test me.
I don't ever see there'splaces in the Bible where God says
that.
But in that moment, he says, test me.
(47:19):
Let me show you.
Let me show you who I am.
Let me show you that I'm atrue Father.
And let me.
Let me pour out the windows.
Let me pour out blessings fromthe windows of heaven.
Let me allow it to fall down.
And.
And what.
When I.
When I hear this word pilfer,I think about, like, just.
Just.
Just dream, like, imagine withme for a second, right?
(47:40):
There is 2.63 billionChristians in the world today in
2024.
2.63 billion Christians in theworld today.
I wonder if they got thatnumber after we did the Thousand
Soul Initiative or not.
But with that 2.63 billion, let's just imagine that they were
(48:00):
paying.
Every single person was givingtheir tithe.
Now, let's imagine that halfof those people weren't stewarding
their finances well, but theywere still giving their tithe.
But what they did was that,God, you don't need all of that.
Let me take a dollar from there.
God.
It's all right.
You're good.
You don't need that much.
Let me just take $1.
(48:23):
If 1.5, which is half of 2.
About half of 2.63 billion.
If 1.5 billion people didthat, that is $1.5 billion that we
decided to steal from thehouse of God.
Because we pilfered.
Because we pilfered.
(48:43):
This is the moment.
Today is where it ends.
Where we stop pilfering fromthe house of God, where we get our
finances in order.
Where we say, I'm gonnasteward my finances because I'm not
afraid of what's to come tomorrow.
Because I know that when I dothis today and every other time,
when the opportunity comes, that I know that everything else
(49:05):
underneath will be taken careof.2200 payment for a house will
be taken care of for an apartment.
The car that I'm driving, eventhough I gotta wait a year before
I actually can drive it againso that I can get the finances in
order for me to take care ofit and take it to the mechanic, that'll
(49:30):
be taken care of.
When I know that is whathappens when you begin to set your
tithe as number one.
And I believe that within thechurch of V1, what is going to happen
when we begin to take placeand do that?
There is going to be amovement of finances that is going
to rush through that, rushthrough the Christianity all over
(49:52):
the world.
But it's going to start righthere in this house.
It's going to start right herein this house.
So if you guys believe that, Iwant you to begin to just step into
who God is calling you to be,which is a son and a daughter.
Because sons and daughtersdon't have to take money from, from,
from their parents wallets.
My son actually, he'll putsomething in an Amazon cart and say,
(50:15):
okay, can I get like here it is.
Because he believes that I'mgoing to purchase it for him.
And it's true.
I, I, I end up doing it.
I'm, if I'm spoiling my child,I apologize.
But you know what?
He knows that I'm a good father.
If I'm a good father, how much more?
Our Father in heaven.
(50:35):
Wow.
You know what the revelation is?
Tithing is like putting thethings that God, you know, God knows
you need in the Amazon cart ofyour family to where it's like, hey,
I already know by faith, youknow, as we close and I want to pray
and we're going to, I'm goingto ask that you pray.
(50:56):
It's interesting that the wordpilfer shows up in Titus because
the apostle was training andhe was basically saying, I'm trying
to train you, but the problemis you cannot pilfer.
And this is what pilfer means.
It's different than just rob.
See, in Malachi the prophet'slike, will you rob God?
But pilfer is when you, it'slike, hey, I should be giving this
(51:17):
much, this much is 10%.
And I should even be trying togo beyond that.
But I'm just gonna come to 5%, 7%.
And what you're doing isyou're playing this game where you're
like, what little percentagecan I take without it being noticeable?
That's what pilfering is.
It's when you take little bylittle to the point where you hope
(51:37):
nobody notices.
And I think that what is sointeresting is you blew my mind when
you're like, mike, this is in Titus.
And there was somethinghappening in the early church where
the apostle was like, I haveto make sure you all know, don't
pilfer.
And so what I think that meansis come up to the level that God
has called you to come up tothe level that you know is right.
(52:00):
But I will tell you this.
You can't out give God, andGod's way works.
And I don't care if you livein the most expensive region of the
U.S.
or you live in the leastexpensive region of the US if you
get out of the world's economyand you get into heaven's economy,
things start flowing andyou're going to have testimony, testimony
upon testimony upon testimony.
(52:20):
And that is just the way it works.
So, Pastor Randall, can youhelp us?
Could you all stand to yourfeet across every location?
As a matter of fact, I believethat in Indiana right now that people
are receiving breakthrough inthis area.
See, sometimes people wouldsay, oh, this doesn't have to do
with me.
They're talking all New York.
No, no, listen.
The poorest I ever was was in Indiana.
(52:42):
And so I believe that God,even in Indiana, will give you insight
sites, give you wisdom.
Get.
Look, they're coming to sellthis furniture on ebay.
Talk about Facebook Marketplace.
They're the immediate implementation.
You see that we gotta go first.
Robbed us blind right in themiddle of the sermon.
But we're gonna pray right now.
How many of you was this goodfor your soul?
(53:03):
How many of you feel betterbecause there's all these good sermons
and people know aboutLeviathan and Jezebel and they can
quote you all the Hebrew, butthen you're like, show me your bank
account.
And they're like, I want youto carry authority in all areas of
your life.
I want you.
I want you to carry authorityin every area.
(53:25):
That's what overflow.
This series is about.
Overflow.
And you know what?
Mark my words.
And I want you to pray.
I believe by the end of thisseries that many of you are going
to have the testimonies andyou're going to be begging.
Can I tell this story at my campus?
Because if I know anythingabout God, when he says, test me
in this way, he loves to showyou that his way works.
(53:48):
Amen.
Are you in agreement with me?
Come on.
When two come together inagreement, let it be so.
Somebody say, let it be so.
All right.
Pastor Randall, can You justpray over them.
Apostle Mike, can you juststay here?
Because I want to.
I want to place my hands on you.
Wow.
Because there's a.
There's an overflow that comesfrom you.
And so if my words are goingto come out, I want it to come from
(54:09):
the oil that you drip.
Wow.
So, Father God, Lord Jesus, wejust thank you, Lord.
We thank you, Father, forshowing us that we are sons and daughters.
For showing us that ouridentity is not in our finances,
it's not in our bank account,it's not in our job, it's not in
our salary, Lord God.
(54:31):
It's not in the place that we live.
Lord Jesus, there are peoplethat are living in tenements, right?
And you're living in areas andyou're saying, man, I can't become
that.
But, Father God, we have anapostle that has stood and has walked
the test of time, and he'sdone what you have said, Lord God.
And so if we walk in that aswell, Lord Jesus, if we understand
(54:54):
that we are sons anddaughters, Lord God, then, Father
God, there is going to be ablessing that pours out of our house,
out of our lives, Lord God.
From your house, Lord Jesus.
Heaven.
So God, I pray, Lord, as eachand every person tests you in this,
Lord God, as we get ourfinances in order, as we steward
(55:15):
our lives in the way that youhave called us to steward it, Lord
Jesus, there is going to be.
There is going to be anoutpouring of your glory, Lord God,
in our lives.
When the situations come, LordGod, when the trials and tribulations
come, Lord Jesus, we will notpilfer, Lord God, we will continue
(55:36):
to be faithful in what yousaid, Lord, and our obedience will
yield, Lord God, the blessingsfrom heaven.
So, Father, we thank you forthe work that you're doing, and we
ask all of this in your nameacross every location right now of
V1 church.
In the name of Jesus, we pray.
Amen and amen.
