Cambridge i England är ett av världens mest respekterade universitet. Här har mängder av berömda forskare, politiker och konstnärer studerat.
Men, det finns också en parallell historia. Under flera decennier och genom flera generationer så möttes här icke – heterosexuella män. Det gäller inte minst ett av universitetets många college: King's College. Ett anrikt lärosäte som ligger mitt i universitetsområdet.
Här hittade männen en slags fristad här där de, lite mer öppet kunde mötas, umgås, ha sex men också bilda vänskaps- och kärleksrelationer.
Relationer som kan ha spelat roll också för samhällsutvecklingen menar forskare.
