(00:51):
Vigilante 1939 podcast. This is episode 241.
We are a father, son, best playing dynamic, talking all
things DC, Marvel box office andmore.
We are celebrating the 20th anniversary of Batman Begins.
The final trailer for Superman has hit the buzz around the
Amazon Prime screenings. Our DCU Clayface has been cast.
(01:12):
We got the Rolling Stone articleon James Gunn and we are
revisiting the Season 4 finale of Superman and Lois.
Brace yourselves. Before we dive into the show,
the best way to support us is always to leave us a rating and
review an Apple podcast and to continue supporting us on
Spotify. Thank you to everyone so much
again. And I am of course 1/3 of the
(01:32):
coast here in Exanek. And joining me, as always, are
Nico and the Crusoe Junior. Do I look like a cop?
Del Line was we sailing all the time?
Man you wanted to prove? That's still, that's still a,
it's still such an iconic. It's beautiful.
(01:55):
Because Nico was the best of us.Isn't that The Dark Knight
though? Yeah.
Now you're going to the next movie though.
You're going to the next. Movie well, you have to go to
the next movie because that movie made the first movie
there. There there's bigger and butter
into a lot of people. There's mooding you.
There's mooding you than that. That's that's good though.
(02:15):
Yeah, I guess to start there, 20th Batman Begins dead.
I remember seeing it in the Wisconsin Dells, which is weird
because I, I think I, I, I don't, I haven't seen too many
movies, big ones in other states.
And granted, that was a long time ago, was 05, I was 10 or
11, something like that. And I remember we were mad or,
(02:37):
or you were mad because box office wise, it didn't do that
well, but they still were willing to, you know, go forward
with The Dark Knight and the rest is history.
But it's a really great movie, really iconic movie for a lot of
people still. And I think it's it's probably
the comic book movie. And, and you both could correct
me if I'm wrong. I don't think there's been a
(02:58):
comic book movie that has aged better than Batman Begins.
I think like at the time, maybe even Dark Knight, maybe even
around Dark Knight Rises, peopleare still like, it's good.
But now you ask people and they all consider it.
So many people consider a top five, it's widely now considered
the best, you know, comic book origin film.
I have it, well, I have it neck and neck with Raimi's first
(03:21):
Spider Man, but that's just 'cause I have a, a slight bias
towards the characters. But yeah, Batman Begins as a
freaking treasure. And some people, I think, Zeddy,
you and I think Chris Evans fromthe Gathering of the Geese.
Shout out to Chris. I I and I know a lot of people
who also say it's their best, I think Rick Shoe who say it's the
(03:42):
best Batman film ever. And I don't think that's a crazy
take either because it's definitely very Batman.
It is. It's very Batman.
I think, you know, that is very apparent.
And that's I think why people give it that, you know, praise.
But yeah, Dad, so you loved it. We loved it at the time.
Didn't make that much money. And how has it aged for you?
(04:06):
I know we've talked about it on the show.
I think we went back and reviewed it once, but.
Right. Well, it continues to age
impeccably for me. It is, it is by far maybe
slightly below Raimi's Spider Man only because I think that
movie, I think it's all about timing, right.
(04:27):
And when Spider Man hit, it was the first Spider Man movie and
it was just, it was Spider Man mania everywhere.
I mean, you know, people like totalk about Batman 89 with Spider
Man 1st movie was every bit of that and it was a generational
type deal for a lot of people worldwide, globally.
All that the strange, the strange thing with Batman
(04:50):
Begins, as you're correct, therewas no fanfare about it.
It kind of came out and there wasn't a lot of what I call over
the top marketing or anything that I recall.
We saw it on a rainy day on a vacation in Wisconsin Dells.
And then I saw it again back here.
Both times we saw it, there was literally nobody in the theater,
(05:11):
figuratively, literally whoever. And I do think that it probably
was a little bit ahead of its time and but certainly it was
the precursor of of, of I think everything that happened after
it. And there's no doubt it's
probably the best pure Batman film over The Dark Knight, even
(05:33):
though I consider Dark Knight tobe a better film, but not by a
whole lot, just slightly. But yeah, the genius that was
Chris Nolan, the wonderful portrayal of the character by
everyone in the movie, especially Christian Bale, Liam
Neeson is Rochelle Gould. I mean, what can you say?
Happy 20th anniversary. You are the gift that keeps
giving. I live in a world where we were
(05:56):
lucky enough to see Keaton come back as Batman, even though that
didn't go over very well. It went over like a lead
balloon. But I'm always hoping one day we
see Bale. And I know it's fan service and
it'll probably be in a multiversal type thing, but it
would be pretty cool to see him come back at some point and
reprise the character. But Zeddi, as I throw it to you,
(06:17):
it's hard to argue with, pal. Batman Begins is is as good as
it gets, man. Yeah, we'd be lucky movie in the
future that that's anywhere close to.
That I know. I Yeah.
And of course, yeah, it, it is my favorite Batman movie of all
time. It is what I consider to be the
GOAT DC origin movie. You know, to me, it's a film
like it. You know, it's like you got
(06:38):
Christopher Nolan at the peak ofit all.
Christian Bale is my favorite Batman of all time.
I don't really know as far as origin movies, if anything is
going to come close to that on the DC level.
But like man, like what the likethe story I don't think is like
it's just riveting as if I'm seeing it for the first time.
Batman not showing up for an hour, nearly an hour into the
(07:00):
movie and I'm not bored and I'm not even missing Batman cast is
terrific. You got the classic villain
twist in it. I mean, like everything in that
movie works. That score, that Hans Zimmer
score, that molasses that that Ijust always listen to every now
and then. It just it always gets me
pumping. It's always gets me going.
Love the movie to pieces. I can watch it a million times
(07:20):
over. It's on my, it's on my, it's on
my mouthwash more so I can neverget tired of it.
Can't believe it's 20 years old.But not to say that the The Dark
Knight in Batman Begins don't make quite the 1-2 punch.
It's it's. I have to add.
Oh yeah, let me just add before I go to you.
(07:40):
I don't know that I have ever been more excited about an
ending. Of Oh yeah.
Oh yeah. That movie.
'S got the greatest. Ending credit, whatever I didn't
love was the most credits. I will tell you this, there's a
(08:00):
lot of people that are going to go, oh, you mean Infinity War?
No dude, we knew. I knew what was going to happen.
I knew everyone was coming back.Infinity War was great.
Don't get me wrong. I'm not what I'm telling you
right now. That rooftop scene, I was like
praying that we get in the movie, Nico.
(08:22):
Why I was so obsessed with the box office something.
I was scared that they weren't going to do enough to make a
movie because I was thinking, Ohmy God, to get a modern age live
action Joker and it was just a pinnacle.
I mean, I'm going to tell you right now as far as like seeing
something Empire Strikes Back ish when I was a kid, like what
(08:48):
hot, you know, like it it had itevoked those kind of motions.
Spider man did too, because it was so tragic when he leaves the
cemetery and he doesn't wind up with Mary Jane.
And it was it was gut wrenching, but this was a little bit better
than that. I will give the ending of Batman
Begins because I'll tell you what man, I and God did they?
(09:12):
Well, that's why that's why you look back and love it so much is
because you at the time couldn'thave even guessed that it would
be as great as it was because The Dark Knight and we've, you
know, debated people. But let's forget about that for
now. The Dark Knight exceeded every
(09:33):
expectation fan. Same director.
Like, how early does that happen?
Yeah. It was it.
It not only was an incredible sequel, it became one one of the
most well beloved movies ever made, period.
The most one, one of the most successful loved totted American
movies ever made comes out of that last scene.
(09:55):
Yep. Which is insane, which is.
And it was so good and the tragedy behind it and
everything, that also the third one was never going to do the
same thing. I don't.
I don't think I can remember thelast time I literally walked out
of the theater as a kid and was like, let's fucking go.
(10:16):
You know, Well, no, I've been like that.
I was like that 20. Years, but I mean like I was 10.
I mean like, but I was like. No, I think.
It's the greatest movie ever. Like like that's.
Literally like to be excited forbecause a lot of movies don't
autumn that's I'm going to say something that's wrong but a lot
of movies Marvel started doing it with post credit scenes but a
(10:41):
lot of movies don't end with thething anymore.
I feel like to set up the next thing really organically.
And so, yeah, I, I don't know, I, I think the movie has great
staying power now too, because now I think it becomes something
people, they hear about it and, and they're more interested to
watch it. You know, as younger people
(11:01):
start hearing about Nolan, they go back to these movies when
people hear, Oh my God, Killian Murphy's one of the villains.
Oh my gosh, he's as well known as ever in, in the four years
ago, Killian Murphy wasn't a mainstream known person.
He, he was the guy in a lot of Nolan movies who was very good
in the stuff he made. But now Killian Murphy's like,
everywhere. I mean, he's he's now he's the
(11:23):
big ticket. This isn't a spoiler.
Now he's the they're clamoring for him to be, to return in, in
the, in the 28 years later trilogy they want to do.
He's going to be the big draw. He's going to be the big he's
going to be like the return of an actor.
Now he's on a level and that many are franchise like all
these other actors who come backand scream and and like Jamie
(11:44):
Lee Curtis with the Halloween like.
So that's pretty cool that like I think people would love to see
a young Killian Murphy and I think people would want to see
like what Katie Holmes is is doing in there too.
No, I'm just kidding. We'll be interested to see that
there's a different person besides Maggie Gyllenhaal.
Hey, could you imagine if Jake Gyllenhaal was Batman and Maggie
(12:08):
Gyllenhaal was was what's Rachel's?
Thoughts. I don't think they will.
Always, always go back. You know, just always play the
hypothetical. I don't think they leave legally
would have done that so you would have had to kid his sister
had a different Batman I. Think you know?
Oh oh. Oh, I thought you meant having
them in the same film. I'm, I'm not.
(12:29):
That would have been creepy as hell.
No, don't, don't suggest that onair.
If it was Jake or Matt, I see what you mean.
That's. OK, believe he was actually up
for both Batman and Spider Man at the same time.
Well, yeah, he was. That was in the prime of his
heyday. But any other thoughts on Batman
Begins or do we go into? His dialogue was perfect in that
(12:51):
movie, man. The other Titan, should we go to
the other Titan of it all? So we'll do that.
So we had actually there's a lotin terms of DC to talk about.
So let's just go to the the Superman final trailer happened
not this week, but last week andtickets went on sale.
You guys are going to the Prime screening.
You guys are also going to the press screening.
(13:11):
I will be on a lovely vacation, but at the same time, I will not
be in Superman with you all. You guys will see Superman
probably twice before I see it once, which is wild.
I hope it's good. Kind of hope you like the movie
but two. Thoughts there twice that
hopefully make me more excited and not less excited.
(13:32):
But so the final Superman trailer happened and I'll just
say right off the bat, I, I really there's a lot I liked in
the final trailer as as ADC fan, there's a lot of action, there's
a lot of DC characters doing stuff.
The camera stuff is interesting to me because some of it looks
pretty innovative, pretty different and I I just dug the
(13:54):
vibe of it. Overall, I still cannot get
behind Nicholas Holtz, Lex Luthor.
And I'm going to go out on a limb and say I blame trailer
editing and the way they chop uphis dialogue, because his
dialogue does all sound like it's from a collection of
different scenes. But I hear it.
(14:16):
I see him. And every time it got to him in
the trailer, I was like, and then something else would happen
and then it would come back to him and I'll go, and then I'll
be really anyway. And then it would come back to
him one more time. And I'm like, you know, so
listen, I'm excited for it. It's real.
There's tickets, there are screenings, there are.
It is as tangible and as close as ever.
(14:37):
And that's mostly what I got foryou, Dad.
Your thoughts on the Superman final trailer?
I'm. Kind of in the same boat.
Like I said with the last one, Imean, I think that there wasn't
anything in there particularly that that is driving me or
motivating me more to see it than I already want to see it.
And at this point I don't want to see anything.
(15:00):
I. Watch I watched a little clip
today that didn't do much for meon the Kelly Clarkson Show.
It's got part of that interview,which I I don't know why
they're, we need to see that whole interview in the context
of what it is. I don't like to see these little
choppy excerpts on them because it's not playing very well to
me. But having said that, I mean,
(15:23):
again, I look, I'm not going to sit here and analyze the
trailer. I'm just.
Ready to go? I think that's it, yeah.
Trailers are not doing much for me.
Z, as I throw it to you, I don'tneed any more.
I don't work. We're literally, you know,
we're, we're a few weeks away here.
I don't need too much more rightnow.
If they want to go on talk showsand do that kind of stuff and
interviews, that's what I'm kindof looking for at this point.
(15:45):
And you know, the interview we're going to talk about in
Rolling Stone, that's the stuff that's interesting me more kind
of the talk about it. But I don't need to see anymore.
I've seen enough. I want to see the movie.
Yeah, no, I'm pretty much in thein the same boat as you.
I'm boss of the wall. Like like like let's go give
give me to this movie. I didn't need this trailer.
I mean, I'm like, OK, that they felt the need to drop another
(16:07):
one, show the action off a little bit more, showcase a
little bit with the movie that we think we're going to get.
But like that's all cool. But then as I talked to Nico
about then I found myself, I waslike some of the dialogue
choices. Like, I don't know if I'd
necessarily vibe with some of the choices stylistically that I
saw. But you know, other than that, I
think it did its job. People were hyped.
(16:29):
The tickets were on sale, so I get it.
But I didn't need it. I don't need anything else
personally. Right now, all I'm looking to
see is to see David and Rachel and Nicholas and whoever in that
cast is going to be on the talk show circuit.
I'm going to record them all so I can see him.
Let's talk about the movie. Talk about what you love about
the movie, what it was like. Show me why I should care.
(16:51):
That's what I want to see now. So I don't need any of these
clips or snippets. Because now what you're doing is
you're risking oversaturating your own movie.
Because now all I go on Twitter is all I'm seeing people
nitpicking the clips and nitpicking the dialogue.
And I'm like, if you had just stuck to your 123 trailer and
left it alone and it just let the cast do the thing, you know,
(17:11):
then I think you're you're on a really good path from here.
So a dangerous game from here onout though.
So hopefully they we're on, we're on the right course here
still. What do you think?
See. Why do you say that?
That's interesting. A dangerous game.
What do you mean by that? I just don't want, I just don't
want them to show too much because I feel like the more,
the more you show, the more you're going to nitpick and then
(17:32):
you're going to start sending the wrong message.
You already got people nervous that David and Rachel are going
to be on the view. And I'm like, come on, man.
They'll they'll be fine. It's, it's what you got to do.
That's the type of audience thatyou have to attract.
But. Yeah, I see what you're saying.
Maybe getting, maybe getting a little bit political.
Yeah, and like. James.
Con is all over the place and we'll talk about that in a
(17:52):
second. Whether or not that's the right
wall. So I don't know.
But like we're we're like what, 3 weeks away at this point, like
come on, come on man. So.
So here's what I'll say. There's been a lot of talk about
the marketing, which I cannot wait, no offense to anyone until
I have to stop hearing Superman and marketing in the same
(18:14):
goddamn sentence. It's being marketed very well.
It's big. It is not like this different
sort of marketing thing though. It's any big blockbuster it is
being marketed in. Jurassic though.
Superman shirts on. Don't worry.
Let me say this, it is being marketed more than Jurassic Park
(18:35):
or Jurassic World. The AMC employees, they do have
the shirts. We saw them last night.
That was fascinating. So like it's being marketed
very, very, very, very well. It's the movie right now.
Warner Brothers did go all out. My thing is this, I am very
curious because I'm excited for it.
I am, I am still excited for it and jealous I can't see it with
(18:58):
you guys. And hopefully the wait is well
worth it. I'm very interested though now
because now with these numbers, the box office, there's a lot of
talk about these ticket sales. No one really knows what's true
or not until the numbers happen, right?
(19:19):
So the first excuse was DC's fractured brand.
Then it was will Snyder ruin thecharacter?
So this movie, and I want everyone to listen to me when I
say this, this movie is the testof is Superman a relevant
(19:43):
character going forward? How big is Superman really?
I do think the numbers have meaning.
If it's 789 a Billy. Oh, gun made Superman the thing
(20:03):
5 or 6. I'm still saying he's not bigger
than someone like Batman Spy or whatever, right?
He's sort of still in this spot where he's like enough people
will go out to see him, but that's it.
If it underperforms, what will the excuse be 'cause there's
(20:24):
always been an excuse on why there's not a move.
Like I truly wonder if it underperforms, what the excuse
will be. What will it be to you two?
Wow. What do you think?
Well, they've already, they've already lowered the numbers.
I've seen the metrics come. Out now.
Now it's around the Batman. Now it's like, now it's like 110
(20:45):
and if everything goes swimmingly well, it can maybe
hit 1:30. Well, that's a far cry from 1:50
to 175 to 180 to. So I never believed in those
numbers anyway. But we all, as we sit here still
have no clue. I mean, it could still have no
clue fairly well you're asking, I mean.
Like let's say it, let's say it taps out at 5 or 600 million.
(21:09):
I'm saying by the end of the run, even though that's enough.
Well, I don't know if 5 is enough.
But like, let's just what? Do you want me to?
How do you? What do you want me to say to
that? I don't understand.
What do you mean? The narrative right now to most
people excited for the movie is it's it's going to be a smash
hit. It's going to be the biggest
thing right now right there. Are they?
(21:31):
Keep well, these people are hoping that's what they're
hoping. That's the thing.
But. The only guy that's not hoping
that is the director. Let's Yeah, isn't that?
Hold on. That was that was going.
To be a fun discussion. Yeah, that was a very
interesting. One discussion, but I want there
to be some like life and nuance around it because I'm I'm
telling you there's a lot of data they're showing you that
(21:53):
shows you it's like there's excitement for it.
Trailer view social media impressions right, But like
right, we're going to see what I'm trying to say is we're going
to see what that actually is in a quantifiable fashion,
depending on how good the movie is.
(22:14):
But let's assume it's good right?
Because if if, if it's mixed reviews or less, the movie's
going to crash and burn ADC movie.
I saw some people arguing the other day that even if it gets
not good reviews, it's still going to be huge.
I don't know how anyone could think ADC movie with bad
reviews. I don't care who the character
is. ADC movie with bad reviews is is
(22:34):
going to make money. It's not going.
To. Happen.
Let's say it ends up at 500 million.
Maybe it touches 6 the early sixes.
What then happened? Is it not enough people care?
Will it be because reviews were mixed?
Will it be because the brand is still just so shot that people
(22:57):
weren't willing to go yet? Like, what will be the excuse?
Because right now, it's like this movie's going to be the
biggest thing ever to a lot of people.
They're hoping that. It could.
It could be what I've been talking about for two years.
It could be comic. Book or that or that, right or
that. It could, it could be.
I mean, we're just speculating here, but I mean, it could be a
(23:17):
really good movie, well written, acted, good scenes, good.
And I mean, I'm not going to useThe Flash as a comparison
because that was different. But you know, you guys are
hanging on to this DC brand. Nobody even knows DC.
The general audience doesn't. There's no vendetta or
reluctance to go see the movie. I don't know why you guys bring
(23:38):
that up. This is purely.
I. Disagree with?
You it's no, no, no, no, I don'tthere are general.
Audience people. Who?
No, No, no, no. Hold on.
I just agree with you. It's OK.
I just hold on, hold on. I don't want.
There are enough people who knowit's not Marvel.
There are enough people who knowit's not.
Marvel, you're OK, But but is Marvel, is Marvel good?
No. But like, that's so so, but
(23:59):
here's what I'm trying to say. Hold on everyone that there's a
lot of people who think because Marvel is where it is
automatically DC takes the spot. You know, I don't think that's
true. No, I don't think that's true.
I think I still think there might be people in the month of
July who go Jurassic, this Superman thing or the Marvel
(24:20):
thing, and they pick Jurassic orMarvel because it's still more
of like things they know. That's all I'm trying to say.
I'm not trying to say like the majority of the audience knows
it's, but like I think enough people know it's not MCU.
You know, like the same way a lot of people knew that the Sony
things actually weren't by the end of it.
(24:42):
I'm going to, I'm going to tell you that I that may help it.
I don't know at this point. Dear Lord, maybe because if the
movie is huge, it'll be because people were that excited for the
thing. If the movie doesn't do more
than 600 million, it's we're going to talk about that, but
that's not going to be but it I don't think it's going to affect
anything going forward. But it it it might work out in
(25:05):
our favor because they might start fast tracking a couple of
other bigger names, which I. Well, so far only only only one
other movie is filmed, so that'sinteresting.
Yeah, and once getting. Ready to?
Go one movie. One TV show is getting ready to
go and one other TV show is getting ready to go.
That's. All you got.
Yeah, but I still think you're. I still think you know, they're.
(25:27):
They're going to talk. I know we're going to talk about
Wonder Woman and all that, but should we just get into this
article? Yeah, well, I want to give Zeddy
a chance to answer that question.
Go ahead, Zeddy. What do you think of what?
I mean, what's your I? I do think that the vanilla
answer could just be what I feellike the narrative right now is
Modernet. It's just that month is so
tight. So it's like it really is going
(25:48):
to come down to what is the mostrecognizable?
What do people care the most about?
For some odd reason, there's a lot of people that think
Jurassic World Rebirth is going to bomb and fall flat on its
face. I couldn't disagree more.
But do I think that that's really going to hurt Superman in
a big way? I don't think so.
But I will say I still do not think Jurassic World, Superman
(26:10):
and Fantastic Four in an ideal world is a perfect setting for
all three of them. So what's going to be
interesting is, yeah, you will form that conversation.
Like whichever one makes the least amount of money, you're
just going to say it's just because people either cared more
about Jurassic World and Fantastic Four or it's going to
(26:31):
be what whichever 1 comes out ontop.
But and maybe maybe all three ofthem do make money.
And maybe it's just a matter of like, which one made the most
because it's the most one that people cared more about.
But it's interesting, though, I can't tell you, you know, like I
mean, my heart wants to say Superman's going to is going to
come out on top, but I don't know, man.
(26:51):
You know, you guys sleep on those dinosaurs and you sleep on
scar Joe all you want. You know, you sleep on Fantastic
Four all you want, but comes outaround Comic Con.
Now you got the movie already get making headlines that it
sets up directly. It directly leads into Avengers
Doomsday. So I don't know, man, it's it's
going to be it's going to be a race to the finish.
It's all I'm going to say. Is that a you are you are so on
(27:13):
Nico, it's the trifecta. It's the three headed monster
man, right. Are they all going to do 800
million a piece, Nick? I doubt it.
I right. I mean it's just not going to
it's not going to wind up like that.
So there is going to be a leaderand there's going to be the
middle guy and there's going to be the third one.
And it's just, it's fascinating if I'm getting excited thinking
(27:37):
about it. Because I don't think there's no
right or wrong answer here, to be honest with you.
And I don't think, I don't thinkit means the other movies.
Like maybe there? Won't be if one if one performs
a little bit better like he saidZ maybe the dinosaurs, they do
rule the world, man. Maybe they do more than those
two. I I would agree with you.
I still believe as we sit here tonight, but Zeddy, you are
(28:02):
right on this podcast, 'cause you brought up Comic Con again,
I forgot about that, that they're going to be pumping that
out the week of Superman, right? The week that Superman's out, I
think. Is it that week or the week?
What is Comic Con? Is.
It the week of Superman. It's the week after F4I think.
Yeah. Oh, I thought it comes out
before F4 and they're going to. Promote it.
(28:23):
No, Marvel's not going to Comic Con.
Oh yeah, that's all. Yeah, neither of them are.
Going and DC is not either. It's like only OK, there's only
going to be Peacemaker, right? That's the only thing they're
going to talk. About who knows, Maybe they'll
maybe. They'll do some I don't.
Know, right. Yeah.
Well, well, listen, I I would agree.
With you is going to try something though you'll.
You can. I think out of the three right
(28:45):
now, the one that's going to do the worst is the Fantastic Four
because it's the last one. That's what I say to you guys
right here, printed the receipt, whatever it is, it's 855.
That's my prediction. If we're going to do a little
thing like this, I'm going to say Jurassic and Superman are
(29:05):
tight. They're going to be tight for
who wins and I think Fantastic Four is going to be the one
that's looking up at the. I think Jurassic does the worst
because it's already looking really light.
Really. I think Jurassic does the worst.
Ultimately, it's looking a little light.
Well, what are the projected numbers?
(29:25):
They're not telling you or. I'll look it up.
I'm going to go on a limb. I'm going to finally say this.
I still I'm just feeling something, man.
I'm just feeling something. I.
Just can't bet against. That I still have to bet this
way I think F4. So you think you think both the
comic book movies are going to make more than the Jurassic
(29:48):
World movie? I do and I think F4 does.
The best? That's with the history of the
fan. I think F4 does the best.
Oh, wow. OK, there you.
Go. I still think F4 does the best.
I think F4 is going to have a bigger opening weekend and it
has nothing after it that it's got nothing after it.
(30:11):
And I think no, I the only reason I'm saying that is
because the last two times I've predicted ADC movies box office,
I've been dead wrong and I don'twant to try.
Third time's the charm. So my dad thinks Superman's
going to be the biggest. I think it's going to be a four
Zeddy. What do you think's going to be
the biggest? I think it's Jurassic World of
(30:32):
rebirth. OK, so we all think, I mean
that's. I I can't bet against that.
Like 4 out of the six made a billion people could say that
there's drop offs. But you know what man?
I don't know, Like kids love dinosaurs.
Those movies make bank overseas,man.
Like what do you want me to say?I mean, if the lowest grossing
Jurassic Park movie makes 750 and if that's the top out
(30:54):
number, come on man, like climb me a river.
I don't have to tell you like. I mean, it's, it's looking at.
Would be lucky to catch that number at this point.
See, here's the thing though. So Jurassic's looking at
potentially AA115 five day though, and it's got no iMac
(31:15):
screens, it's got no PLF, and then Superman comes out right
after it. You know what I mean?
Yeah. We'll, we'll go, we'll see.
And then the numbers, could be the numbers.
It's the holiday. I don't know what to tell you.
Like it's, I mean. I mean, I'm just saying like
115. I mean, five day is, yeah, but
(31:37):
that that. That does feel kind of low.
I mean I. Because Superman is going to
hurt Jurassic because the IMAX that don't be the.
Time. Yeah, but also like the tickets
are more expensive to see Superman.
Yeah, you know, so. Yeah, I mean it'll but if the
kitten though, I mean. If the kids keep on, I don't
even know. I don't.
(31:58):
Opening weekend? Come on man, it's all about the
legs. It could be the opposite of the
opening. Weekend.
So like my we all think something different, which is
hysterical. Super make it open at 2:50 and
it could that. That just makes the show better.
Even if I don't know, even if I don't really believe what I just
said, at least we have three different people with three
completely different takes. Let's see.
(32:19):
Yeah, but I got something working for me that those other
people. What's working for you?
You know what it is, I've got something working for me.
This is why I go out. He's got he's, he's got the big
gun. I've got.
I've got the. Blank Grillo effect, you mother.
Come on now. I got the blank Grillo effect.
I'm getting. He's the unknown.
(32:39):
He's the key to this box office crap.
Listen to me. Hey, maybe he was in.
He was in Civil War. I definitely do.
He was in civil. War.
He's right. What else has he been in?
Oh, he, he was in, he was in Tulsa King, our guy, Mr. Singh
(33:00):
it. Was Tulsa King?
I'm taking gorilla to the bank, bank to the.
Bank Bank. Bank Bank, Bank bank.
We're talking about Frank Grillo, not John Birnthal here.
Come on, guys, don't. Don't.
Get it? Twisted, you know, let's not get
them. I love it.
(33:22):
I love it all right. Yeah, no, Hey, hey, this is
great stuff, man. I can't wait till we visit this
in a month from now so it'll be fine.
Let's get to the esteemed director.
So James Gunn has. Oh, wait.
Guys, we can't. We can't drop the big one.
First we got our Clayface. Oh, man, yeah.
(33:44):
So guys. So Tom Reese, Harry's got cast.
Clayface, listen. Where's the balloons?
I'm excited whenever anyone unknown gets cast and they like
James Gunn says that that he blew him and Matt Reeves and
Matt Reeves away. Matt Reeves very involved with
everything DCU Batman, which just reinforces the idea that
(34:06):
Matt Reeves has to, I think touch everything regarding
Batman that's made at Warner Brothers slash DC Studios.
This movie's real. I mean this is the most real it
gets even with the directors. I'm like, I don't know.
But now they got a guy playing them and it looks like they're
going to shoot soon. So I've I've sort of changed my
tune. I still think, I don't know why
(34:26):
this movie exists or what the goal is or what the but I like
Clayface. I think he's dope.
Me and my dad and I know you too, Zeddie, but me and my dad,
I know love Clayface. We've always gotten the figures
when he shows up in the video. Like we're always hyped when we
see Clayface. So shout out to Tom Reese
Harris. I can't, I haven't seen a thing.
(34:48):
He's in. I looked it up.
He's in like a little bit of Doctor Who.
I'm worried about this movie now, man.
Well, yeah, I mean, yeah, what is it?
Ain't nobody going to see the Clayface movie for the Tom Lee's
Harry's picture. Like, I don't mean no disrespect
to the actor, but come on, man, Like.
Yeah, I understand this project.30-40 million Clayface movie.
(35:11):
But unless there's going to be aton of A list actors around this
movie, ain't nobody going to go see this movie just for him.
You'd have been better off casting Jack O'Connell right
now. Who?
Literally has the juice. I'm sorry this guy wasn't on no
list. We did this again.
I am nervous for this movie. I hope it does well.
(35:33):
I hope I'm wrong. I look forward to hopefully
being wrong. Love Clayface but I have no idea
where this fits. Let me.
The lover. Let me tell you something wild
with and we're going to get to guns article in a SEC after my
dad responds to the Clayface thing.
With the way Gunn talks about Batman, I think we need to put
(35:54):
to bed the idea that Batman is appearing in this movie at all.
I've never thought he was. But with the way James Gunn's
talking about fitting Batman into the DCU, there is no shot
in hell he's in this Clayface movie.
So I know like that idea is out there and I've even said that's
what would make the movie pop. But I really don't think that's
(36:16):
the case. And I think we just got to deal
with Clayface going against whatever villain that Clayface
can go against because he's going to have to fight a
villain. Because I don't think they can
make a movie where he's a villain.
I. Mean.
What do you want me to say? I like Clayface.
Yeah, you like him and. I have no idea who this guy is.
(36:40):
I don't need to waste any time on it.
When it comes out, we'll go see it, but it's like I have no,
there's nothing there right now other than I would rather go
play with my clay Clayface figures in the basement right
now or watch the animated episodes.
Then think about this movie that's going to come out.
(37:00):
I just it's not doing anything. There's too many other things
that that they've talked about that another coming that I is
just not going to improve the needle for me.
Right now, I love Mike Flanagan's involvement, and so
that's what gives me the glimmerof hope with this project.
But I mean, we'll see. We'll see, though.
Right now it's a massive question mark.
(37:21):
But go ahead, Nico. Yeah, Mike Flanagan.
But they they did a director's pass of the script, so hopefully
it wasn't like he didn't change too much.
So let's go to this James Gunn article.
There's a lot in here. So we'll we'll kind of pick it
apart in a way that we can that feels digestible.
(37:41):
So James Gunn did his Rolling Stone interview.
He had a lovely little little photo shoot.
Shout out to James Gunn, who's being marketed, who's, let's be
honest, he's being marketed as as much as Superman.
He's being marketed as much as the character of Superman, which
you know what, when you're the director slash Co Ceoi get it,
(38:03):
ride the wave, ride the wave. I just hope the end product
justifies your wave and that youcould kind of keep going on the
wave after the movie because if the movie underperforms, all of
this is going to look awful. Like we gave this guy, we were
(38:28):
putting this guy on covers for what, you know, bigger than more
than any other. He he's getting he now he's
officially getting the amount ofairtime that like Ryan Coogler
was getting for sinners. Like he's on that level.
And I'll be honest, he's just made comic book movies, you know
(38:50):
what I mean? So it's like shout out to him,
but like just got Movies Now. If he nails this, he becomes,
like I said, the king of the genre and he deserves it all.
But I'm going to need to see themovie's performance back up.
How much they thought they needed to put him in front of
our goddamn eyes, you know? So Dad, there's, I know there's
a couple points you really wanted to highlight first.
(39:12):
So instead of having me go through and trying to bullet
point it, why don't we touch on some of the ones that you feel
like are the biggest? Yeah.
First of all, you're so right with the marketing.
But obviously that's a very conscious choice based on
guardians. That's it.
It's not. It's not.
Suicide Squad. It's not based on Peacemaker.
They are clearly using the MCU and the success that he
(39:37):
generated with that trilogy to drive it into everybody's head
that go see Superman. Why should I go see Superman?
Because it's made by James Gunn, who did Guardians of the Galaxy
and everybody loved those movies.
Therefore you should go see Superman.
It's hard for me to argue with it, but so listen, I, I am a big
(40:00):
fan of James Gunn. I I love the Guardians movies.
Suicide Squad was pretty good. Peacemaker I think is OK.
Like I said, I'm, I'm, I'm, I, Iwant him to go back to doing
Guardians, similar type stuff, which I think we're going to get
with Superman. The problem I got with James
Gunn is he really does talk out of both sides of his mouth.
(40:23):
It's I'm glad he does and people.
Need to like portray this kind of arrogance, being pretentious
and sort of a holier than thou. I know this.
And then in this article he's doing the same thing again.
He's going kind of back and forth and he's trying to get
personal and be vulnerable and all that.
But there's a couple things we'll get to my big thing when
(40:47):
the article. This is what I did not like.
This is the interviewer. There are people who've been
saying the whole future of the studio might write on this
movie. How do you work in the face of
that kind of pressure? Really, I just go, this is James
Gunn now. Really, I just go, that's their
business. Because that's not the truth for
(41:07):
me. My truth is this is the first
movie out of DC Studios. Other people may say it's got to
be a home run, nothing else. I'm like, no, I'd be very happy
with a double. I don't think so, James.
I don't think we'd be happy withthe double.
I don't think the studio's happywith the double.
I don't think anybody in this inthis place is happy with the
(41:28):
double. You know what it means.
So I'm going to. Swear, how do you even quantify
a double? Let me finish, Let me finish
because this is going to really, you guys are going to get
aggravated. Fucking Iron Man wasn't the be
all end all. It wasn't Avatar.
We're doing something that's a piece of the puzzle.
It's not the puzzle itself. We have Peacemaker, we have
Supergirl, and what we want to do is make a movie that people
(41:49):
love. They feel connected to the
characters. It's just this one movie.
It's not everything. I hate it when there's a fucking
article and it's all about the problems and blah, blah, blah,
blah, blah. And that means even more
pressure on James going to Superman.
I'm like, what does it have to do with me?
I'm not responsible for that. I've got to make my budget back.
I'll be happy with that. No, no, no, James, the budget
(42:13):
for this movie is probably goingto be close to $500 million when
it's all said and done with the marketing.
Why are you so insecure now? Dude?
This is where I want my guy, my manager of my ball club to step
up and say we think we made a great movie and you're damn
right we're shooting for the stars.
(42:35):
We want to come out of the gate here and we want to do great and
we want to impact. And I want as many people to see
this movie and I want it to be, I want it to be a homework.
Now there's some people listening just they're going to
say, well, you know, he doesn't want to oversell it.
Bullshit, man. That's what you do.
And then you deal with it later. If it doesn't do as good, then
(42:56):
you kind of analyze it later andsay, well, we're still happy
with this, with that, this sort of like introverted, insecure
approach now to the what the movie's going to do.
It's weird. It it's it's like, I don't know,
man. I just, I didn't, I don't like
him here. Listen, if he's happy to get the
budget back, I could tell you David Zasloff is not going to be
(43:18):
happy to get the budget back andthe studio's not going to be
happy to get the budget back, OK?
Iron Man, he says, was not a bigdeal, right?
Sure. OK Superman's a character that's
been around for how many years? 80 years, right.
He's pretty, pretty out there inthe, in the, in the pop culture,
right? Nobody knew Iron Man, OK?
I don't care what anybody says. Iron Man did $586 million in
(43:41):
2008. You add inflation to that, it's
more like 750, close to 800 million now, which is what I
think Superman has to do myself to be considered success.
I got a problem with James. James, don't be cocky, don't be
pretentious, and then answer that question that way.
I would rather be over the top and be like, listen, we are,
(44:05):
we're shooting, we're coming outof the gate and we're coming out
strong. We're coming out heavy.
We're coming out with the most iconic character we got and
that's very disappointing to me.It just bothered me in the
interview. I've read that whole interview
twice. It's a great interview.
He's really good in it. He reveals a lot and I give him
credit for that. I don't give him credit though
(44:27):
for backtracking and trying to be like, Oh well, you know, it's
not the be all end all I don't like.
This was a weird interview and Zeddy, I'm going to let you go.
I'm just going to say this. This was a weird interview to me
because there were a couple moments where I really loved
what he was saying and I really empathized with him.
(44:49):
Then there were two moments thatmade me want to pull my hair
out. And he this interview confirm
something about him that I've always felt he's a he's built to
be a director. He's not built to be this Co
(45:12):
CEO, He's not built to be this Co CEO.
And it's OK. You'll never hear Feige say
he'll be happy with the double, even when the movies weren't set
up for home runs. You need heat for everything he
(45:35):
says and everywhere he is. That quote told me a whole lot,
Zeddy. You go first, though, and then
I'm going to tell you. That quote told me everything I
need to know. That quote arguably really did
actually wanted me to pull my hair out just because I cannot
(45:55):
even believe the timing of the quote.
And just in general, when you have this movie that's hotter
than ever right now and it's about to come out, you have all
these tracking numbers of this movie that's going to perform
massive. And you're like, I'll be OK with
a double. I'll be OK if it gets on third
base. Just have to cross home play.
It's just to just to get us there.
(46:18):
Like, why would you wonder? Sell what you have?
A lot of people think what we were just talking about, people
that think this movie could actually be the highest grossing
movie of the summer, maybe of the year.
And you have the director of this movie coming out saying
that I'll be OK if it's just a double The thing in the problem
that now I'm starting to have anissue it, and I did tell this to
(46:39):
Nico a week ago, I love James Gunn.
I have no problem that he wants to market himself that if
Superman's a success, he was theone to do it.
The last I checked, this movie was called Superman.
This was not called James Gunn'sSuperman.
Zack Snyder's Justice League wasverbatim called Zack Snyder's
(47:02):
Justice League for the sake of that was his movie that he never
got to make. And he wanted you to know if
this is my movie that I made. So the success verbatim went to
Zack Snyder for for anybody thatloved that movie, quantifying
James Gunn with Superman to me is this weird thing to the point
where like, I was so hyped when I saw David and Rachel in that
(47:25):
phone booth and then Nico quotedmy tweet and here's James Gunn
reading a newspaper on the otherside, 'cause I didn't see that
in the Entertainment Weekly. Oh, you didn't see that?
No. If you had just cut that out and
leave those two, are you kiddingme?
Man? That would have been glorious.
I was like, what the hell is this?
(47:45):
So I mean, like to undercut thismovie at this point.
And here's the other thing. I don't mind if he wants to
literally be real in these interviews and say, oh, the
script, Supergirl scripts, fucking great.
Lee Lanterns, fucking awesome. You got to see this movie.
Are we? Are we freaking 10 years old,
man? You're the CEO of our studio.
(48:06):
I don't want you saying like Kevin Foggy is a leader.
He would never. Go in an interview and say the
Captain America of Wave New World's Cup is fucking awesome.
You know why you got to go see this movie?
Because the action's fucking unbelievable.
I'll be honest with you, I didn't think about this till you
say it. Now.
Yeah, I don't love the way Superman is.
(48:29):
Fucking flying around the Fortress of Solitude and
Crypto's fucking lasering peopleall left and right here, man.
That's why you got to see this movie.
No, you want to know why you gotto go see Superman?
Because he's the embodiment of hope.
This is the first Superman moviethat you're getting since 2013.
I got all these DC characters that you've never seen before,
and you know what? I'm going to make a movie that
finally makes you feel good. That's why you got to go see
(48:50):
Superman. Go be there July 11.
Buy your tickets now. Screw the other side.
Go see my movie. It was such a whimper by him
where I am like. I'm out of Nikko for one second.
He's dude he. No, I know, I know he says all
that, but he doesn't say the same thing about his own goddamn
(49:11):
movie. No, I'm with you.
It's what this told me. When do you think this interview
is from? Recently it's.
It's just how. But no, like does it say when
they actually sat down my. IPad died.
I can't look. At it.
I did not look up that part if anyone could find that because.
Well dude, Rolling Stone doesn'tdo an interview like 3 months
(49:32):
ago. I mean, it's, it's, it's, it's
better than recent. Because if it was very, very
recent, which I think it is, do you think he knows?
Numbers. Do you think he knows?
Posted on June 16, so. Do you think Because it strikes
me nobody talks like that unlessthey got a big feeling or big
(49:56):
fear that they might only hit a double.
Well, I also think too that he'she's probably I'm.
Sorry for all the E tags we got to put this up no?
No, you're good. Probably in a, in a, in a corner
to where he's smart. He knows that if it doesn't do a
certain number, it's, it's, it's, you know, there's going to
(50:19):
be a large part you know of. So he's got to try to undersell
though. No, I would I would have said I
made, I made for me. What I think is like is that he.
Just one of my best movies. Like, yeah.
One of the best I've worked hardon this movie.
I love what he says about the characters.
Pure. That's his version of Superman.
(50:41):
We're not going to get a ejectedself dialing loathing guy.
This guy is the embodiment of all that is good and that's
refreshing to me. Now, why don't we do this?
Let let's get off that because we do that.
Let's talk about the Batman because to me this was really, I
(51:05):
know there's a Superman movie coming out, but he undersold it.
The his obsession and dilemma, which we have talked about on
this podcast and now you're seeing it come to truth from the
man himself is refreshing to me.What did you guys think?
(51:27):
Whoever wants to take it? And let's be honest with
ourselves, the door is still open for Pattinson and Crazy and
all those people are like, no, it's not going to happen, he
said. This is a fresh article where
he's kind of telling you it's probably not going to happen.
(51:47):
But I think what he's really saying is I want it to happen
and I was trying to make it happen and I'm still trying to
make it happen, but it's probably not going to happen.
Therefore the most. And he calls him the biggest
superhero in the world, which I would tell him, I still think
(52:10):
Spider Man is slightly bigger. But hey, I'm a Batman guy.
I'm not going to disagree with James Gunn's love for Batman
slightly or how in the world this guy's, this guy's literally
telling us slightly. I would.
I want Pattinson. Listen, listen.
Come on. This guy high and I I'm hearing
you. I'm hearing you and I.
Can't get him into it so now I'mtrying to.
(52:32):
Work a way around. How we're going to get Batman in
here and and I don't even think they've got an actor that they
even think is going to be Batmanyet.
I don't and and we have talked about Wonder Woman 2 and Zaslot,
but we're all over the border. This might be slightly longer
pod, but let's do the Batman andthen.
Slightly again, there's that word.
(52:53):
There's that word slightly just came out against.
I want to tackle The Who wants to tackle the Batman discourse.
Because I'll be quick. I'll be quick on Batman because
just the book and the gun thing real quick.
It's either he thinks the movie may not hit or he has or he's
seen numbers or anything. He's like damn, or maybe he's
(53:13):
just trying to temper himself. I don't know.
Or maybe he was told don't freakout about it.
The Batman thing is interesting because I love dishonesty.
That's one of the things I lovedabout him.
This is when he's transparent. He gets it.
He understands the importance ofit.
We've we've said the whole time,right?
How do you do this without Batman early?
And he's proving us right. Not that we need to be right,
(53:39):
but a lot of people are like, oh, you can wait for Batman.
You know, you can wait for Bat, Let let you know Reeves finish
his thing. And then no, no, no, no, no, no,
no, no, no, no. You need him now.
And I love that he's being transparent for the first time.
He's being a little vulnerable. And he's saying it's hard,
right? He's he's it's his biggest
(53:59):
problem. He's figuring out how to write
him in. I disagree that he says like
pretty much every Batman story'sbeen told across media, but
like, not for everyone, you know, you know?
What I mean the origin maybe? Like like, like you could make a
long Halloween movie and nobody has seen that you.
Know. And don't even tell me the
(54:20):
animated dog shit one they put out, because that thing was is
that like that? So like I disagree.
And I think people like Batman in some way that they like
spider man. You just got to make a Batman
move. I mean, Reeves just did it and
it made what, 770 like, all right, like that's your bar.
You know, you'll be fine, especially if you get like a
(54:40):
decent actor to play him. But I love that he's also trying
to be really smart about how he brings them in.
This I this I appreciate this. I appreciate is like, how do I
bring him in? He also confirms something
without saying it. I know he's mad about the Matt
Reeves stuff. We've always said if we ever sat
(55:01):
him down and it was able to be honest and say like James you,
you're pissed about the Matt Reeves shit aren't you?
He'll say yes to your face. He'll say cuz I got the keys to
all of DC except the biggest fucking guy that doesn't that
suck. This is where I said I empathize
with him. It's why it's so funny.
Like the MCU, they didn't have Spidey, but by the time they got
(55:24):
Spidey, it was like the shot. It was like the next adrenaline
shot to push them to unbelievable lengths.
And it is what brought Spider Man to bigger than Batman.
It is what brought Spider Man tobigger because then Sony had the
brilliant idea to do the Spider verse stuff.
That's over in my opinion for now.
But now he's sitting there going, I could launch this
(55:45):
universe so cleanly with the Trinity, but I got to make
fucking Flanagan's clay face first.
Like, I know he thinks the script's good, but I know he's
sitting there going like, how doI get Batman here?
He finally even was like, not that candid.
(56:06):
I thought he was a little shittyhow he talked about Matt Reeves.
I know he's trying to defend him, but he's like, come on,
Matt's slow. Like I'm like, he could have
said, hey, he's taking his time.I'm committed to the best
screenplays. He was just like, no, he's slow,
let him finish it, he'll be finelike he.
Was very. Dismissive, but he was so
dismissive of like, come on, he's slow.
(56:29):
Just don't care. Like instead of being like.
He's like being I almost tired of being asked about.
This is when I wanted him to be his pretentious self where he's
like screenplays. Everyone has a process.
Matt has a long process. I've said we want the best
screenplays here. Matt agrees that he will not
move forward till he has the best version CEO.
Wouldn't have answered it like that.
So he's he's answering it almostlike Jesus.
(56:51):
He's slow. Stop asking me.
And it's like, that's a director's, yeah.
So he feels frazzled at times inthe interview.
He feels vulnerable in the interview.
He feels, which I guess it's human.
He showed us he's not this cockyass robot all the time.
But yeah, I'll be honest. You need Batman now.
(57:12):
I hope they figure it out. I hope they figure it out soon.
And even though everything I said earlier that I think F4 is
going to do the best, I like, need Superman to do the best
because that will get me Batman and Wonder Woman much more soon.
I think we all believe that. So I need, even if I hate the
(57:33):
movie, I need Superman to make like like a billion dollars.
Because if Superman makes a billion dollars we're getting, I
might get Flash in two years andI might do a backflip, you know
what I mean? Like, we might get justice like
sooner than later if Superman's huge, right?
So like, we need that. Or maybe Superman underperforms
(57:53):
and that means we need Batman more.
Do I want it to bomb? Because then Zazzy's going to go
get the fucker with the pointy ears and the Cape on that screen
right now. Save us.
Call. Get to Adria Aronia right now
and Castor is wonderful. Get Monica Barbaro on the phone
right now. No, I I feel like the other
thing too, and I kind of circle back on this, but the article
(58:16):
kind of almost negates my theorynow.
I was like, what if this Batman 2 is like his secret weapon?
What if it's almost like now he's ace in the hole where it's
like this, everything is so dependent on Superman.
Like if it's poorly, he's got this Batman 2 sitting in the
corner waiting to happen. And maybe he's just being coy
(58:37):
because, like, maybe the movie'smore ready than I think now,
because if the movie is big, he doesn't need The Batman 2.
If it's poor and the movie doesn't do great, that gives
Matt Leaves more cachet. And then here's this idea
because I'm telling you guys, this movie's been sitting on the
show no way too long. Matt Leaves is now all of a
(58:58):
sudden involved in everything inthe DCU.
Now I'm telling you, I'm not going to be shocked if the
Batman two becomes something else or become something more.
If Superman is big. I'm not going to say like maybe
the Batman 2 really is flipped in the BCU.
But I'm saying I think this movie is now sitting on the
shelf, sitting in the corner fora specific reason and we just
(59:21):
don't know yet because there's no reason why it should take
this long. I think I think there's I think
there's a reason. Now, I'm not saying he he he
really thinks it's not canceled.I think it's canceled now, but I
think it depends whatever Superman does, because I think
something big could happen. I think something big could
happen. Do you before let me just bring
(59:42):
you something you both did you let Z go first on your neck.
Do you believe he really wants to get Pattinson into the into
the fold? Yeah.
What do you think? I think if it solves his
problem, yes you do it. But do you think James himself?
Because I get the feeling James is like we have the perfect
(01:00:04):
Batman. If you have a tested Batman that
you know can fit next to coins, what?
You just do it. You just do it.
I don't care what semantics you have to pull off, you just do
it. At this point.
You. You.
It'll be. It would.
It would be. It wouldn't be clean.
It wouldn't be clean, but at this point, but it would be big
and you need big. You don't.
(01:00:28):
I don't either Minecraft. 'S not a clean movie, but it
almost hit a billion dollars. Don't get me wrong, don't ruffle
the feathers guys. It don't got to be clean, it
just got to be big, OK? Well, that like that Wolverine?
Yeah, it's just got to be. Big that movie don't look clean
but it'll make a billion. You stand right it, dude.
If you put if you put Pattinson's Batman coin sweat
(01:00:50):
Superman of Adriel, Avona, Monica, Barbara, whoever you
want is Wonder Woman in a movie together.
That's big. That's.
Big So So let me tell you something wild though.
I actually think that Wonder Woman is like much of like
(01:01:13):
actually a really big thing because Wonder Woman one was
huge. This is different now she's a
different casting. Let me explain why.
The Superman thing, what happened with him, happened with
(01:01:33):
him, right? Batman, there's one that did
really well. So it's either, let's be really
simple about it, in the minds ofa general audience, you either
bring the guy in or there's a new person.
Anyone. Anytime someone gets cast as
Batman, it's big because of the narrative that has formed to a
(01:01:56):
lot of the mainstream to this isnot just an online thing.
You know, nobody really likes Gal anymore, so I think the
Wonder Woman casting is like as big as what they do with Batman.
It's. And you've got a lot.
(01:02:17):
It's big. But it's close.
You also got, I'm going to say something else that's might be a
little bold. You have a lot more, I think
really recognizable female directors right now.
If they want female director outfor the next Wonder Woman movie,
which I feel like they will. You know.
(01:02:39):
The Wonder Woman, I don't want to say package because that
makes it sound weird. The Wonder Woman, the potential
Wonder Woman Project Hall, it could be big because couple of
these names that people are floating around, I do think
(01:02:59):
would be like would be a castingwhere people go, which we
haven't had in DC, in the DCU yet, we haven't had someone.
But Wonder Woman, right? I think even more than Batman
can have a casting where it's like the actor they picked and
it's like the actor they choose. It's like an immediate yes.
(01:03:23):
And I know a lot of people keep saying these names, but Aronia
and Barbaro are like, yeah, those two would.
There's a third one. People say that.
I'm telling you all, I love someof you.
I'm not going to say the name because two of our dear three of
our dear, dear friends love thisactor.
(01:03:47):
And I get it. And I get it.
No one say it out loud. No one say.
It out loud. Because it's just not there.
I know a lot of people think it's there and a recent thing is
showing you ain't nobody going to turn up for this person
either. I don't think putting them as
Wonder Woman, there's the presence.
It's just not, I'm not going to say it, but I love you.
(01:04:09):
I know because it's three peoplewho listen to the show.
I love you all so much and I'd like this person.
I think this person is more talented than people give
credit. This person has an accolade
behind them. That is, once you have an
accolade, once you have something to your name, I don't
care can never be taken away from you.
(01:04:31):
Credit where credit is due, there's an accolade.
I do not think that person should, could or will be Wonder
Woman and that. Is can I can I just say this
please? Yeah, what?
What do you want to say? Wonder Woman, the actress that's
cast. Oh no, is that he just put
something on the screen that none of you don't say it out
(01:04:52):
loud either, man. Oh.
Man, that's funny. The woman that gets cast is
Wonder Woman has to be a physical presence too, which I
mean by that the actress has to be probably 565758 you you,
you're. Going to see that, OK.
You can't cast A5253. You just look, I'm not, I'm
(01:05:18):
short myself. I'm I can't play Batman.
You understand what I'm saying? Like.
It's not, but those calves make you bigger.
Yeah, sure, sure. You know what I mean?
Like, you know, you. You we have to have some
difficulty with these, with these roles here.
And sometimes when I see some ofthese these actresses conducted,
(01:05:39):
it's just not, it's just not right, you know?
I have to say, it was so funny, man.
It was right there, man. Hi, let me let let's hold on.
Naomi Scott's still sitting in the corner.
Come on now, you. Just brought up one thing I
(01:05:59):
think we said the last podcast too, how everyone was in love
with the idea of what DC was like.
Don't rush the characters. Then Zasloff gets right involved
right away and it's. Like, well, no, no, no, no.
There's no coincidence that David Zasloff said their four
biggest priorities are Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman and
Supergirl. And now James Gunn's telling you
those are top priorities. Yeah.
What? I thought he said Zasloff.
(01:06:19):
Went to James Gunn and said. Has no influence on James Gunn.
He does his own. Thing no, he does people are
people would be selling the CEO of a conglomerate does not have
cannot walk into the DC studios like people think like because
it's a separate and I know Gunn tries to say there's no
meddling, but no, no, no, James Gunn does not get to do what
(01:06:43):
what he wants. He is a he is a employee of
David Zasloff. David Zasloff who is not happy
right now because he just lost $18 million in his salary and
he's only getting paid 6 insteadof 24.
So you know he's storming down to the DCU office going if if
your movie is not big and if youdo not have the guy in the case
(01:07:03):
and the girl in the tiara on a screen in the next two years, I
may murder you. I may kill you, I may.
I'm splitting up the TV divisionso that your shit doesn't get
confused with some bad shit too.So I'm doing you a God damn
favor. 1st of. All.
You are you. You get your own little cut of
(01:07:24):
the TV stuff too. But now that it's split, Zazlov
is giving all that responsibility to to other
people. Now he's only focusing on a few
things. DC being one of us.
So if you think David at some point in the last three months
after that quote did not go to James and go even if it was
James's idea, he checked in and said we working on the the
(01:07:45):
Wonder Woman and the Batman stuff.
Because, you know, I heard there's this Trinity.
All all these nerds, all these nerds who come into my God damn
office keep telling me about theTrinity, the Trinity, the
Trinity. So that means the three of them.
You're doing one of them, so so.So are the other two coming?
(01:08:07):
Because naturally I see Superman, I see Supergirl, and
then I did say these other two characters.
So are the other two on their way?
Because if not, I heard them joking that you're doing this
Clayface thing with this character.
Like that's not real, right? Like we're doing Batman and then
we're doing Wonder Woman. The same the same Continental
(01:08:29):
Studios, fam. That's funny.
What? Happened to the Rock and Bravo
company. I think you.
See that Pretty fast too? Well, yeah, Well, that's because
he probably said we're doing a what, a War 2 movie, and you
want the guy who's playing the Penguin to play them.
No, no no, cancel that shit and write Wonder Woman and Batman
(01:08:49):
and do do the job we allegedly hired you to do, which is make
these I don't want. That Jonestown movie.
I want the Kool-aid movie, man I.
Don't want the playlist? Movie.
I want the Wonder Woman movie. I don't think there's much more
in this article. There's a lot of history of
James, what happened in Marvel, the support he got.
(01:09:12):
I mean, I as far as you know, asfar as the rest of the article,
it's a lot of the same stuff we've heard before.
They're not going to make the movie without the script.
He throws a little dig at Marvelhow they were under a corporate
mandate that killed. Them don't maybe talk about the
script quote. Yeah, so I don't, I don't think
there's much right. I think the two major things I
got out of this article was the Batman information and his
(01:09:36):
insecurity to step out on there and and probably proclaim that
I've made a incredible movie andwe're shooting for the stars.
I did not like that little reluctant comment a little bit
like, you know, Nick, it's like if your sports team goes like,
yeah, we're hoping to compete, you know, that's all.
(01:09:58):
No, dude, you want to win the summer?
We're just hoping to get in the play in.
I would have said, you think we're doing all this marketing,
Nick. I would have said, you think
we're doing all this marketing and spending all this money to
break even? Yeah.
Come on, man. Come on, man.
Yeah. All right, move us so long then
from that, please. So Zeddy wanted to is Zeddy been
great with the summer Superman Rex for us here and we're we're
(01:10:22):
going to transition into our what our next piece of the
summer Superman was, which is wewatched the finale of of
Superman and Lois and they're laughing because if you've been
following the show for long enough, we watched and covered
the entire first season. And Zeddy, you did it on a show
(01:10:44):
with was it Javi and Carlos? Did you have on for it?
All of Season 4, yeah. And so technically the whole.
Season, but didn't you do 1? Didn't you do 123 and four with
them? I did the first couple with
Chris. We had the world's finest thing
that we were. Watching.
Oh yeah, Chris did the first couple, Yeah.
I don't think we did Philly, butthen season 4 we we pretty much
(01:11:07):
covered the entirety of it. Yeah, that's awesome.
I do. I do have like a whole show.
Yeah. With Chris Hobby.
And yeah, so go listen, if, if, if you're interested in watching
Superman and Lois and didn't know about those shows, I'm, I
mean, like, I know they're in our feed.
So go find him. They were very good.
I would retweet him if I find him.
Yeah, put them all up after thisone.
So me and my dad fell off duringseason 2 because we just weren't
(01:11:33):
into it anymore. So Zeddi was like, OK for for
summer stream. Man, I remember Zeddi you
telling me about the finale and telling me what happened, and I
was pretty moved by what you're telling me.
I was like, damn, they they kindof cooked with that.
I saw some clips. So then we decided to check it
out and let me just get some funny stuff off the bat.
(01:11:55):
So dad, it's probably the same for you because we didn't watch.
There were a couple reveals in this that I was absolutely
befuddled by. First of all, our man Kyle, Me
and my dad were big Kyle guys. And in fact, the reason that we
stopped watching is he turned into kind of a sleaze again, and
we didn't like that. He's with.
(01:12:17):
The freaking, the new the the the reporter with the with with
the Bob. He's what's?
Her name? Chris.
Chris in Babies with. Her what in when did that?
So I know the one thing I do know is that a lot of these
people weren't in that last season.
(01:12:38):
Yeah, they did massive budget cuts, Yeah.
Did that happen in the show? And if so, is Eddie no like like
did you see that form? Yeah.
Did did we see the other one form?
Because another thing that that that caught me by immense
(01:12:58):
surprise is that Lana Lang Sloanfrom Entourage is with John
Henry Irons, who I thought this guy was from a different earth.
I didn't know he's staying around falling in love here.
So just. Quickly, did you also do we also
see that form? You do, but it's it's like
(01:13:20):
really under underdeveloped. It's not the strongest part.
Of it. Wow, those two things that I
will not lie to you. I was like, I must have missed.
Things definitely happen here because the last time I checked,
Kyle and Lana were still married.
Oh no. So yeah.
(01:13:41):
Oh no. Falls like a ton of books.
But other than that, I know, butmy dad wants to talk about
particularly the ending. But yeah, I also didn't know
that Bizarro becomes Doomsday. I didn't know that either
because I think when I stopped watching, Bizarro was like just
introduced or whatever. So that was fascinating.
(01:14:03):
It's fascinating. They made a Kryptonian in the
Doomsday. That's interesting.
I don't think I've ever seen that.
It is, isn't it? Before have we seen that?
Have we seen a a Kryptonian and was it Lex who did it?
Yes. You know, man, if I had a nickel
for every time I saw Lex turn a Kryptonian in the Doomsday, I
(01:14:27):
would have two nickels. You'd have $0.10.
Because I've seen it before. You know.
You'd have $10. What do you mean cents?
I've seen, if I had a nickel, I would have $0.10 because I've
seen it before, same way that I saw the Morgan Edge thing
before. But Dad, you said it here, you
actually kick it off. You watch the whole show.
(01:14:51):
And I was pretty moved by what how they chose to wrap this
thing up. So I could only imagine being a
massive Superman fan and watching it.
I I want to ask you a specific question.
What was it like to in live action actually see Clark and
Lois have a complete arc and an ending?
(01:15:15):
Because we don't really have that anywhere.
No live action to my knowledge. Like Smallville.
He's becoming Superman, right? This is like ending and spoiler
alert. I mean like ending and like
death and like heaven. Like wow.
So like what? What?
What the hell was that like for you?
(01:15:35):
Well, obviously like the cliche, the cliche answer would say that
it was everything. But to me it was honestly some
of the most deepest, I think storytelling I've ever seen as
like a comic book fan. The fact that they literally
chose like if you're ever going to deconstruct stripper Man, I
feel like this is the way that they should always do it to the
point where like they literally,I respect them so much because
(01:15:58):
like they made the choice to literally kill him off, but then
when they bought him back, they gave him a human heart and they
did not cop out. They literally let the story
right out and they and they didn't do the cliche thing of
like, oh, eventually he's going to get like a Kryptonian tar and
he's going to be fully sure man.No, they they chose Elaine and
and they stayed on it. And I mean, like, I remember
(01:16:20):
when we covered the early CW stuff and we were all like,
Tyler Haklen should never, nevertouched comic book stuff ever
again for what he did to Superman.
And you know what? I walked away at the end of
season 4. Tyler Haklin is my favorite
Superman that I've ever seen in costume.
And as Clark Kent, I was so moved and so in tears at the way
(01:16:42):
that they book and their life. I mean, like the realization at
Lois Lane got diagnosed with cancer.
She beat it and then she got it again, and then she leaves him
and then he lives the rest of his life as an old man gets to
see his kids grow up. He passes the torch, Then he
hangs out with Crypto. Then he unfortunately passes
(01:17:03):
away. But you know what the most
beautiful thing about the whole thing that I saw, and I know I'm
rambling here, he forgives Lex Luther as he decides to go off
into the sunset. He forgives his arch nemesis,
the one person who caused him all his pain and suffering in
his life. He forgives him as and that's
the last thing that he gets to do before he gets to ride off in
the sunset. It's that if that's not
(01:17:25):
Superman, if that's not the benchmark of the epitome that we
should be reaching with this character, then I don't want
anybody else to to touch him. This is what, in my opinion, I
want James Gunn to watch this finale and I want and I want
James to be like James. This is where I want to be at
when eventually you're done telling DC stories and
eventually when you're done withSuperman, if he wants to do
(01:17:46):
Kingdom come, I want to be there.
That's what I want to feel. That's how you should feel about
Superman is the way that you felt that the end of this
finale. So I was so fulfilled and I feel
like that's the right word that I can leave.
It was so beautiful. And like now I'm crying.
Just think it's like they literally, they give you
everything in that finale, man. I mean, like they do what they
(01:18:08):
can. They try, but God, God was a
beautiful. I don't know.
What did you think, Mr. Safe? Well, you know, the first part
of the of the series, like my son said, there was a lot going
on and I was able to kind of figure out these things
happened. We didn't watch the show.
(01:18:29):
I'm like you. I've always thought heckling
look good. I thought Bitsy Elizabeth
Tullock was a great loss. I think they were obviously the
strong parts of the show. They were the stars of the show.
I thought the show was not good.I thought everything about it
was was mid. The writing, the CGI, the kids
annoyed me, the side characters.I just didn't think it was very
(01:18:50):
good. I thought, dude.
Damn, you cook in the episode. God damn.
No, no, no, no, no, no. You said you wouldn't do this.
No, you said you. Wouldn't do this.
No, no, no, I thought. Doomsday looked terrible, I
thought. He's still going what?
Are you? I thought, I thought Luther.
That might be the worst Luther I've ever seen.
Yeah, he Abraham looked like an older Elmer Fudd to me.
It was terrible. And then a funny thing happened.
(01:19:14):
The last 10 minutes do. You do you know what that Lex
Luther does though? In the show?
He literally, literally stomps Superman's heart like a bunch of
marbles. That's like a little bunch of I
just, I don't, I know, I know that I know.
That's Abraham from the. Walking Dead.
Oh my God this dude. I just told me lucky to be a
(01:19:36):
mile. Of yeah, but he just.
I just don't. I just didn't.
I didn't. Care for him, That's fair.
So, so I'm watching the episode and I'm struggling to get
through it. And then what happened in the
monologue or the epilogue, whatever you want to call it,
was the most beautiful definition.
(01:19:59):
I'm trying to find the right word here.
Analogy of life itself. And I'm going to tell you that
he, it had nothing to do with Superman.
He was just the guy that was talking about all of us and why
we're here, what we should be doing.
(01:20:21):
And I I cried for the whole time.
And I'm sorry that it's not because of Superman.
It had nothing to do with Superman.
It was the writing that was extraordinary, where you have
the lead character telling you how we should be as human beings
(01:20:44):
and what life really is all about, how quickly time goes by.
We need love. I mean, I got to be honest with
you. I, I, it inspired me personally
and I might sound crazy, it's got nothing to do with with,
with the people heckling does a great job delivering it and I
(01:21:05):
believe it hook line and sinker.I'm all there for it.
But like, I mean, my God, I, I, I probably will watch that has a
self motivated inspirational thing for my own life.
That's how great it was and it'sin the show that I really didn't
(01:21:26):
care for and it blows my mind. I was, I was definitely moved by
those. Now I understand is the
character, he's selling it as Clark Kent and all that.
And, and that was just a vehiclethat was used to portray the
(01:21:48):
empathy and the explanation of what this whole thing is we're
about as human beings. I'll tell you what, it's
beautiful. I don't know that I I can, I
don't know that I could think right now of anything else that
kind of did that for me. Wonderful, wonderful.
The show. I can't.
The show's just not for me. We watched the first season.
(01:22:12):
I do agree with Giuzetti. I think they were terrific in
the roles. I think the writing was bad.
I think in another, in another world, in another universe,
maybe it's on HBO, maybe they got a bigger budget, maybe the
writings, a little meteor, better characters, better
actors. Man, what could have been for
those two 'cause they were definitely, they were like the
(01:22:35):
two best players on a very mediocre team.
To me, that's how that's how I look at Superman and Laws,
right. I mean, they were the standouts,
obviously, and they and they andthey deserve better.
I know a lot of our guys like it.
They're that way. Don't be mad at me and just the
show wasn't for me. The kids, everything.
It's really nothing in it. I mean the characters.
(01:22:55):
I just, I, and then it got to that point and I will, I will
always, I, I thank you for making me watch that because
that, that 10 minute, whatever it was, epilogue is something
that will stay with me forever. And I will use it as inspiration
for my own life to remind me sometimes when I forget certain
(01:23:19):
things, you know, really what's important and you know, the
passage of time, how quickly things go by and how we can kind
of waste time and do not. So I I applaud for that setting.
Yeah, I'm gonna be honest, dude,It was.
It was absolutely. No, that's great.
Absolutely good and I. Love, man, I love that.
(01:23:41):
I love that. I, I, I think what was cool
about it is it made me, it did make me.
I've been engaging with a lot ofSuperman content this summer in
prep for the, for the movie. And I don't think I'm like, I'm
not going to say that I'm an expert or like the biggest fan,
but I, I feel like there's a bigpiece of him that, yeah, the
(01:24:08):
last iteration didn't get. And I see that now and, and I
see the potential. My issue is I've seen a lot of
really interesting iterations that I know are going to be
different than what Gun does in the movie too.
(01:24:31):
I think Guns movies going to have a goofiness and a different
set of characters. After reading For All Seasons,
which I thought was incredible, I was texting you about.
It amazing, amazing. I wish we were getting an Origin
movie. I do.
(01:24:52):
I wish we were getting Lana. Think that would have been
different. Actually, I have Lana at first
on the big screen, you know, butnow I also wish there was a
movie of him. I know he's going to be doing
good in this movie, but doing good, you know, not with Guy
Gardner and Hawk Girl and Mr. Terrific and and maybe it'll
(01:25:15):
still be great. You know, I think I think it's
there's a lot of potential there, but when you can really
focus on him as the human being or attempting to be, I mean,
that's the best stuff. And I know this movie's going to
embrace that because of oh, thatI, I am.
(01:25:38):
I literally almost just set a potential spoiler.
Holy God, thank God. I like look at the light.
I'll just stop and say, like, I know the movie is going to lean
into into the part of the theme of, you know, what he actually
is and what landing on Earth. Yeah.
(01:25:59):
Actually means and but while we're not going to get this type
of beauty in terms of this ending reflection, sort of.
Thing. How do you know that you don't
know that? Well, because I don't think he's
going to die in this. No, but he doesn't have to die.
No, I know, but. To to give us that perspective
(01:26:25):
that we get it, that you don't have to have death.
No, I know. Well.
You're almost banking on the thefall from grace and then him
realizing why he was the way that he once was.
Because it sounds to me like, yeah, what I've heard with no
spoilers, like a certain ending point that it it might be very
(01:26:46):
similar somewhat to this about. No, I'm just saying, like I've
now seen immense emotion with him at the very beginning and at
the very end. OK.
And I don't know like in the. Middle, yeah.
Can you make a story that hits me emotionally the same way
about him being where he's at when this movie starts?
(01:27:10):
You know, that's what I'm, that's what I'm curious about
with Alex. That is like Nicola.
Would you guys have liked to seen a well, I mean, Jesus
Christ, they gave it to us with Man of Steel, but I, I know you
would like to see like the beginning again a little bit.
Not where I would. Love to not that kind of you
know, the way Snyder did it obviously and Kevin, because you
(01:27:34):
know, we do look back at some ofthat stuff and some of those
scenes are not kind of hard. I would do you can.
You can still. Do the movie where he's learning
to be a young stripper man. And there's, you know, I mean.
I would have done, yeah. Gun talks about Batman being
done all the time. Ain't nothing been done with
Superman, so I mean let. Me tell you what I would have
(01:27:55):
done. I would have done a movie that
takes place where Gun has him right now, but instead of all
the other DC shit going on, I would keep going to Zeddi.
I would keep going to flashbacks, like for all
seasons. Yeah, I would do the fire.
I would show the fire scene. Who wrote?
For all seasons. I thought.
(01:28:16):
It's. Logan Sail.
I mean just legends. All Logan sailed it.
Yeah, literally. Like the Long Halloween with
Superman. Yeah.
It works like Long Halloween. Oh my God, yeah, dude, it's it's
gorgeous. But Zeddy, I would have done it
Where where like he has a difficult moment.
And it keeps going back. And he has a flat like he
doesn't know what to do. And then he has a he remembers
(01:28:38):
like the fire on the farm. And then you see it when he's
younger and you're like, oh shit, he knows what?
Like, oh, he. Plays so much with.
Trauma, he knows what to do and then something else happens and
he remembers the kid on the ledge and it's like, Oh my God,
like and like those things like that could have been a crazy,
like he's in a cynical world, but he remembers.
(01:29:01):
Yep. You know, Zach tried to use
Smallville, but for all seasons really uses Smallville.
Yep. It's interesting Smallville is a
character in that book. Yeah.
Which I find pretty profound andhe goes back to it a lot.
So you know, Dad, for context, if you have time, I I would read
(01:29:24):
that story. It's only four.
I think. That one would generally be be
worth your time. Like generally.
It would be worth I'm telling you it was it I was.
Now it's told from 4 different perspectives.
Let's do this. Let's cover it on the next show,
Then. We'll do.
I'll read it. I would love to do.
That because hopefully we're going to have one more show
before the movie, right? Yeah, we're going to show.
Yeah. What episode is this?
(01:29:45):
I forgot. Where are we at now?
241. Okay, we're good, we're all
right. Yeah, two 50s about us we don't
need. Yeah, no, 250 is going to be
about but so, yeah, I I just think not that I'm I'm I'm just
like couple of this like that story.
I just thought a lot. About no that that that could.
Be a show. And I'm like, man, what about a
(01:30:06):
movie where it's not an origin? But he keeps like he has
flashbacks to these conversations with his dad and
like, I don't know. I don't know.
It's interesting. Well, you.
So I I don't know those. Parents, all I'm going to say,
(01:30:28):
those parents, James, it's all they James.
Well, they feel like what he cast, which I like, and that's
what they were like in. Mr. Smith and Clark too.
He knows what I'm calling James.Oh, like the actors?
You mean better, better, better not do it What I think might
(01:30:50):
happen, James. Oh, you're worried that they're
going to kill his dad? Better have restrained yourself,
my friend. I.
We we, we just saw Lois and Clark.
He still goes to his parents foradvice.
Come on, come on, James. I want, I want to worry about
that in. This movie I'm more interested
(01:31:10):
to see in in the I'm going to tease the audience.
I'm more interested to see if the very bold thing actually an
ad and ATV. Spoiling.
Things anyway. No ATV really.
There's ATV ad that confirmed the biggest leak and I am very
(01:31:34):
interested to see a people respond to it.
I did hear Henry Cavill was on set for about two days.
Do not say that and do not put that into the world.
But you know, honestly, we've went longer than we have in a
while, which but I think we should.
This is a deluxe edition, this one.
This is a nice tasteful cost a little bit more.
This one costs a little bit more.
(01:31:56):
Cost a little more. I'm going to, I'm going to
charge everybody $0.05 for a download.
Talk about $0.10. Sorry, you know.
Awesome. No, man, I think.
Well, there you go. I got you guys to finally accept
Superman or Lois. It took me X amount of years,
(01:32:17):
but I always get my way. I always get the job done.
You might as well just call me Batman, because I always
succeed. Hell yeah, boy.
What is it If if try try again, you know, come on now if you
fail. At first you don't succeed, if
ever. Try, try, try.
(01:32:39):
Try, try. Or as big you should say.
All you got to do is try, try, try.
No one knows who. Thinks.
Oh, yes, I forget what that songis, but yes, you got to get them
to try, Yeah. Wow.
(01:33:00):
All right. Well, I got I got tears falling.
So Mr. C. Plug away.
Yes, everybody. Everybody could find me and
Crystal Junior on the X. And if you haven't, I can't
imagine anybody's listening to this that hasn't seen the finale
of Lois and Clark. But you definitely need to watch
that. Please.
(01:33:21):

Adam Bastiano where we where we got a good one coming up.
So go be on a lookout on his YouTube channel for all that
(01:34:28):

guess it is 7/7 I guess for us now it's good to be here before
we and man, I know I'm like, youknow what, I got the Superman
shit all ironed out. I'm going to keep it on the
hangar. I'm going to stare at it every
night and I'm going to wake up when they be like, I'm seeing
Superman at night, baby. So there you go.
(01:34:50):
Nick, don't worry. We're going to film it on our
iPhones and then. Yeah, dude, I will not.
Be like, you know. I will not be seeing Superman
with them. I know, I know.
Nick, Nick, Meg's like, what areyou watching over there?
He's like, no, don't. Worry like nothing.
Nothing at all. I don't know why I told
everybody we're going to give them everything, but the post
credit scene, it's fine. I mean, like, you know, I got to
(01:35:13):

selfies. Take Me Home.
